- 2:05Speaker 2: I don't have to send it to anyone.
- 2:06Speaker 1: But YouTube is like, oh my god, that video is
- 2:08Speaker 1: so great. Somebody's sharing it, so let's boost them in

- 2:26Speaker 1: I taste it. It tastes so good in a Dubster,
- 2:30Speaker 1: so help us to get to five thousand. Thanks you
- 2:33Speaker 1: in advance. All right, do we have any hot goss
- 2:38Speaker 1: or any comments that anybody left that we want to
- 2:41Speaker 1: discuss with the general Pop the gen Pop.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Before recording this, I was telling her about how we
- 2:47Speaker 2: got a comment because I check all the comments. She
- 2:49Speaker 2: doesn't read all of them. After a little bit, she's like,
- 2:52Speaker 2: come out. But I'm checking all the comments because I'm crazy.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And so I was reading late at night the other
- 2:57Speaker 2: night somebody had left a really rare comment about how
- 3:00Speaker 2: beautiful Delia was. Well, I was telling her about it,
- 3:03Speaker 2: but I can't find the comment anymore. But somebody was saying,
- 3:06Speaker 2: oh my god, Dahlia, I can't believe you're Beatrice's mother
- 3:09Speaker 2: in law and you have no line on your face.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Do you have any tips and tricks? Because it's too
- 3:14Speaker 2: late for me, but you're so beautiful.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Oh my god, I feel seen. Yeah, I feel seen
- 3:19Speaker 1: in this moment.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I do want to acknowledge that that camera is very
- 3:23Speaker 1: far away though, And if you follow us on Patreon,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you've got some close ups and maybe you can see
- 3:28Speaker 1: a little something something on my face, but not a lot.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Mostly you still look very good.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Now, I was born and raised in Hawaiian. We don't
- 3:35Speaker 1: have to go all the way back there. But when
- 3:37Speaker 1: I turned twenty years old, I stopped going in the sun.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Good.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and I started to use sunscreen. Now, keep in
- 3:43Speaker 1: mind I was born in the sixties. Yeah, it was
- 3:45Speaker 1: born in the sixties and the sixties, seventies, and even
- 3:49Speaker 1: in the eighties. In Hawaii, you did not wear sunscreen. Yeah,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you wore coconut oil.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Oh so you were literally baking.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Who were we watching the Gypsy Sisters.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yeah, motor oil.
- 4:00Speaker 1: We're using motor oil. Kind of those same vibes. That's
- 4:04Speaker 1: what we used back in the day. But like, I
- 4:06Speaker 1: stopped and I started using sunscreen, and I moisturized all
- 4:11Speaker 1: the time, and then I got a little bit of.
- 4:14Speaker 2: What just a little a little bit.
- 4:16Speaker 1: But I mean I've talked about it on Patreon, but
- 4:18Speaker 1: there have been some things that I have done to
- 4:19Speaker 1: my body, into my face, and I think it turned
- 4:22Speaker 1: out great.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it did.
- 4:23Speaker 1: So whoever that mystery commenter is, thank you for noticing.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I tried so hard and I feel really special.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I'm really glad.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so thanks for sharing that you didn't have to.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I mean, what a surprise.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I have to find the comment though, so she can
- 4:38Speaker 2: frame it and put it up.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Well, I want to post it as a community note
- 4:42Speaker 1: on YouTube and like on Patreon.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Post it everywhere.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I posted over my mantle in my house on
- 4:50Speaker 1: our Instagram. Absolutely find the damn comment. I will. Anyway,
- 4:57Speaker 1: back to season six, episode four of Sister Wives, entitled.
- 5:01Speaker 2: The Odd Wife Out.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Akay, Mary, Sorry, Mary, sorry about it?
- 5:07Speaker 2: I'm not sorry. You didn't say it's out.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Indeed, let's get into it all right.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Well, we start off with a little brief scene where
- 5:14Speaker 2: they're doing a landscape walk through. The houses are pretty
- 5:16Speaker 2: much finalized at this point. They got all of their
- 5:19Speaker 2: beautiful landscaping of dead rocks and ugly plants because they're
- 5:23Speaker 2: in Vegas and nothing lives. There's no water, no, there's
- 5:26Speaker 2: nothing out there. And all the wives are super excited
- 5:29Speaker 2: because now it's starting to feel real real, it's a
- 5:32Speaker 2: real big dill and Robin in particular is really excited
- 5:36Speaker 2: because she had to forego some things in her house
- 5:38Speaker 2: to get a big, large patio.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Somehow I doubt it. Yeah, somehow I doubt it. I
- 5:43Speaker 1: stopped it when I was watching it. I'm like, I
- 5:45Speaker 1: just feel like she probably mentioned to Cody, you know,
- 5:49Speaker 1: I could go without the extra this or the extra that,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and Cady's like, no, baby, absolutely not. You get a pantry,
- 5:57Speaker 1: you get a fifth bedroom, and you're gonna get this
- 5:59Speaker 1: betiful concrete patio. Yes, it's all yours.
- 6:03Speaker 2: And she gets like the biggest view. Do the other
- 6:07Speaker 2: wives get all of that view?
- 6:08Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Because they showed it and I don't know why, but
- 6:12Speaker 2: this episode in Discovery Plus for me was all distorted.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, like the contrast was off. It was very off.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I thought it was my TV at first. I'm like,
- 6:19Speaker 2: it's my TV.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Fucking I think it was everybody.
- 6:21Speaker 2: It's just TLC. But I mean, she's got this beautiful view.
- 6:24Speaker 2: She's got those beautiful views.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I mean, if you like Moonscape, if
- 6:28Speaker 1: you like post apocalyptic, post nuclear war escape.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Some people love desert lands.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Okay, I can't do deserts. I don't know, Like if
- 6:36Speaker 1: you catch me driving through a desert, I know, like
- 6:39Speaker 1: my vibe immediately plummets. Maybe it's because I'm a water baby.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Maybe it's because I was born in the Islands. But
- 6:45Speaker 1: I don't lack a dessert. No, offense. I know you
- 6:48Speaker 1: love Sedona.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Well, yeah, and it's okay. When we moved to Arizona,
- 6:52Speaker 2: that was the first thing you said. You're like, oh
- 6:53Speaker 2: my god, there's these dead mountains out here.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Well I warned you before you went, I know, because
- 6:58Speaker 1: you wanted to land in Sedonah. Yeah, and I'm like, okay, well,
- 7:02Speaker 1: try to get as close to Sedonah as possible. Try
- 7:05Speaker 1: not to land in Phoenix because those mountains are dead, honey,
- 7:09Speaker 1: those are dead black mountains. And you're like, it's gonna
- 7:12Speaker 1: be awesome. It's gonna be great. Like one month, one
- 7:17Speaker 1: month into your move, my daughter calls in tears and
- 7:20Speaker 1: she's like.
- 7:21Speaker 2: What if the mountains are dead?
- 7:23Speaker 1: Mom? I'm like, oh my poor lesbian baby, It's gonna
- 7:27Speaker 1: be okay.
- 7:28Speaker 2: And it was so fucking hot. We moved in the
- 7:30Speaker 2: middle of June in twenty eighteen.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Anyway, back to Vegas, I just feel it's just naturally,
- 7:35Speaker 1: it's not my vibe. But if they're happy, I'm still
- 7:39Speaker 1: not happy.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Yeah, And I mean the landscaping look like shit in
- 7:43Speaker 2: my personal opinion, But you know what, they're happy. They
- 7:47Speaker 2: have their walk through. Christine's like super in love with
- 7:49Speaker 2: her kitchen. She's talking about it like it's the love
- 7:52Speaker 2: of her life, which I can relate to. I would
- 7:54Speaker 2: love a big ass kitchen like that. And then we
- 7:56Speaker 2: have Christine and Robin packing in their houses with their
- 8:00Speaker 2: kids and stuff. We see the little baby Isabelle make
- 8:03Speaker 2: a comment about how she hasn't seen Cody very often,
- 8:07Speaker 2: how they're really excited to be back in the cul
- 8:09Speaker 2: de Sac where Cody can just walk over to their
- 8:11Speaker 2: house and they can see their dad more often.
- 8:13Speaker 1: News flash, that's not going to happen.
- 8:16Speaker 2: It won't happen at all.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Did you notice in that scene though, when Christine is
- 8:20Speaker 1: wrangling her kids and getting them to pack, she goes
- 8:22Speaker 1: up to Michelty and she's like, so, what are you doing?
- 8:25Speaker 1: And Michelty says something like well, I thought I would
- 8:27Speaker 1: go and take a nap, and Christine like immediately shouts
- 8:30Speaker 1: at her.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely not.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Every time you put on those headphones or something, it
- 8:35Speaker 1: changes who you are. Like I'm just like, god, I know,
- 8:38Speaker 1: chill out with Michelty, and mckelty's like, I'm just joking, mom,
- 8:42Speaker 1: I know, calm down. But the way Christine just jumped
- 8:44Speaker 1: on her really does sort of underscore how mackelty was
- 8:49Speaker 1: the black Sheep.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and how Christine probably had a tendency to take
- 8:53Speaker 2: out her stress a little bit on the kids. And
- 8:56Speaker 2: then Robin's same kind of thing because she starts yelling
- 8:59Speaker 2: at her kids later in the episode to pack for Montana,
- 9:02Speaker 2: and she's kind of got the same vibe. But anyway,
- 9:04Speaker 2: we go over to Robin's house where she's packing, and
- 9:07Speaker 2: her house is a fucking mess. I couldn't help, but
- 9:09Speaker 2: notice I'm gonna judge it a little bit. And then
- 9:11Speaker 2: Robin talks about how the kids are going to go
- 9:14Speaker 2: see their biological dad in Montana, and then she's also
- 9:18Speaker 2: going to change her last name to Brown and she's
- 9:20Speaker 2: going to gift that to Cody for Christmas this year.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Right. I thought that was interesting because we got a
- 9:27Speaker 1: call on speak Pipe last week from somebody who was
- 9:30Speaker 1: absolutely hilarious who said that Robin was kind of being
- 9:35Speaker 1: mysterious about where she was going. Yeah, but she actually
- 9:38Speaker 1: does say we're going to see the biodad up in Montana,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and so we know that that's still something that's going on.
- 9:45Speaker 1: She doesn't seem happy about it, but she is getting
- 9:48Speaker 1: away with Cody because Cody is going to be traveling
- 9:50Speaker 1: with her right around the time that other people are
- 9:53Speaker 1: getting the keys to their house in the cul de Sac,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and right around the holidays. Yeah, she's stealing away with
- 9:59Speaker 1: cod And I'm just like, oh, convenient. It is a
- 10:02Speaker 1: little convenient.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah. And I also noticed that at this time Robin
- 10:06Speaker 2: was calling Cody dad to the kids, but then says
- 10:11Speaker 2: that they're going to see their biological dad. I'm like,
- 10:13Speaker 2: that's pretty dubious, Like why are you having your kids
- 10:15Speaker 2: call Cody dad. I mean, I know, like Solomon's a
- 10:18Speaker 2: baby at this point, so he's not really speaking or anything.
- 10:21Speaker 2: I get that Solomon is Cody's biological kid, but the
- 10:24Speaker 2: other kids, I'm like, they still have their other dad, though,
- 10:28Speaker 2: I don't know, I thought it was a little odd.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Well, I think this just validates that from the very beginning,
- 10:33Speaker 1: Robin was on a campaign to alienate and isolate her
- 10:37Speaker 1: children from David Josip, their biological father. And I don't know, like,
- 10:43Speaker 1: if David had any money at the time or any
- 10:45Speaker 1: resources at the time, he could have used some of
- 10:47Speaker 1: this footage to sort of prove that up legally, that
- 10:51Speaker 1: she was alienating him from his children, But he obviously
- 10:54Speaker 1: doesn't end up doing that, and he ends up giving
- 10:57Speaker 1: up his parental rights. But you can see that this
- 10:59Speaker 1: is what Robin wants to happen. She's already grooming these kids,
- 11:03Speaker 1: and of course I mean grooming in the way of
- 11:05Speaker 1: like in training. She's training these kids to see Cody
- 11:08Speaker 1: a certain way and to see their biodad a certain
- 11:10Speaker 1: way and just heads up if the guy is abusive
- 11:13Speaker 1: and awful and terrible. I can see how you would
- 11:18Speaker 1: be happy that your children have a healthy role model
- 11:21Speaker 1: in their life and you would like them to align
- 11:23Speaker 1: with that person. But if their biodad is not, and
- 11:27Speaker 1: if their biodad like made some mistakes, just like you did, Robin,
- 11:30Speaker 1: and you guys divorced and it was unfortunate, like this
- 11:33Speaker 1: isn't good for the children, Exactly like when I divorced
- 11:37Speaker 1: my second husband, your wife's father, it was very important
- 11:42Speaker 1: to me to always at least seem unified with him
- 11:48Speaker 1: for my daughter, and if he wanted something for my daughter,
- 11:51Speaker 1: even though he lived in a different state, I tried
- 11:53Speaker 1: to do that. For example, he did not want my
- 11:55Speaker 1: daughter to work while she was in high school. He
- 11:58Speaker 1: wanted her to just spend all of her time with
- 12:01Speaker 1: homework and with her interests and that's it. And so
- 12:05Speaker 1: I thought, well, you should get a job. I mean,
- 12:07Speaker 1: I was working when I was fifteen, sixteen, seventeen. It
- 12:09Speaker 1: was a good experience for me. But because her dad
- 12:11Speaker 1: didn't want that, that is what we ended up doing.
- 12:14Speaker 1: And it was just really important to me that I
- 12:16Speaker 1: always try and preserve any connection she had with him.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Even though he did not fuck with me, he did
- 12:22Speaker 1: not like me, he wouldn't even talk to me. It
- 12:24Speaker 1: didn't change what I did on the other end. And
- 12:26Speaker 1: it's just sad to see moms and dads who do
- 12:30Speaker 1: that to the other spouse. But honestly, I don't know
- 12:33Speaker 1: David Jessop. I don't know the history of David Jessop.
- 12:36Speaker 1: It just in these moments it feels sad.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree completely, especially with my own background with
- 12:41Speaker 2: this kind of stuff. We won't get into it. I
- 12:43Speaker 2: want trauma dump. But yeah, I'm sign eyeing Robin's intentions
- 12:47Speaker 2: here by calling Cody their father when they're going to
- 12:50Speaker 2: go visit their actual father in Montana. Weird.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Well, I mean, and I'm sorry, but if I also
- 12:56Speaker 1: may say this, you can just see it. Robin has
- 13:01Speaker 1: never lived like this in her life. No way. She's
- 13:04Speaker 1: never had access to a huge mansion in a cul
- 13:07Speaker 1: de sac. She's never had access to nice cars, nice things,
- 13:11Speaker 1: nice clothes at all. Right, so she would want to
- 13:15Speaker 1: hold on as hard as she could to this man
- 13:18Speaker 1: and to this family so that her kids can have this,
- 13:21Speaker 1: even if it meant alienating them from their biodad. It's
- 13:24Speaker 1: not right. But you can really see, can't you feel that? Yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 1: she's just like, oh my god, I can't believe we're
- 13:29Speaker 1: finally moving into a house.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yeah I can ew but still makes me grossed out,
- 13:34Speaker 2: honestly opportunistic, yeah, definitely. And then we have Cody at
- 13:39Speaker 2: Janelle's house and this is where they bring up the
- 13:41Speaker 2: conversation of getting a new bed because they're making their
- 13:44Speaker 2: really sad, sad, depressing bed, and Cody's like, man, this
- 13:47Speaker 2: bed fucking sucks. It stinks, not literally, but it just stinks. Right,
- 13:52Speaker 2: and you see it, Like Janelle pulls up the sheets
- 13:55Speaker 2: and it's two fucking twin beds, like staple together. They're
- 14:00Speaker 2: all stained and decrepit. And Janelle's like, yeah, we've had
- 14:03Speaker 2: this for ten years, maybe it's time for a new bed.
- 14:05Speaker 2: And Cody's like Yeah, let's go and do that. And
- 14:08Speaker 2: then they go and head to the mattress store, and
- 14:11Speaker 2: Cody kind of talks about Janelle and his relationship, how
- 14:14Speaker 2: they find love and romance and very pragmatic things, and
- 14:19Speaker 2: in the times that they do get romantic, it's a
- 14:21Speaker 2: little awkward. But when they're at the mattress store, he's like,
- 14:24Speaker 2: you know what, but I don't feel awkward here. It's
- 14:26Speaker 2: really great. I'm like really connecting with her while we're
- 14:29Speaker 2: laying on these mattresses. It's really awesome.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Yeah. What I think Cody is talking about, though, is
- 14:36Speaker 1: meeting her where she lives. Like, Janelle is a very
- 14:40Speaker 1: pragmatic person. She's a very earthy person. She's a very
- 14:43Speaker 1: home and hearth and Torrian sister person, and so Cody
- 14:49Speaker 1: kind of meets her where she is and does things
- 14:53Speaker 1: with her that she likes because she's not a real
- 14:55Speaker 1: fancy person. She doesn't need to be taken to the
- 14:57Speaker 1: best restaurant, she doesn't need to be taken to the
- 15:00Speaker 1: best trip. She likes to have a bed, she likes
- 15:02Speaker 1: to have a home. She likes to provide a space
- 15:04Speaker 1: for her kids. That is what is very meaningful for her,
- 15:07Speaker 1: and so they're able to kind of find the romance
- 15:11Speaker 1: doing that sort of thing. And I relate to that,
- 15:13Speaker 1: like when my husband go and I go out and
- 15:15Speaker 1: we shop for furniture or we're doing something for the home. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: for the yard, like we vibe on that, Like if
- 15:22Speaker 1: we're planting trees and stuff, it is kind of romantic
- 15:24Speaker 1: because we're doing it together and we love it. Sure.
- 15:27Speaker 2: But at the same time, though, like with that Torian instinct,
- 15:30Speaker 2: don't you also like being treated at like go into
- 15:33Speaker 2: a day every now and then, or like having a
- 15:36Speaker 2: little bit of nice things, like to me when they
- 15:38Speaker 2: go and shop for the mattress. Cody's like, yeah, so
- 15:41Speaker 2: this new bedroom set is going to be our birthday gifts,
- 15:45Speaker 2: our Christmas gifts, and our anniversary gift are twentieth anniversary gift,
- 15:49Speaker 2: by the way, an yes, for the entire year.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Well, but Janelle agreed to that. I know that's that's
- 15:55Speaker 1: just fine for Janelle.
- 15:56Speaker 2: But Janelle also and all of these other earlier seasons
- 15:59Speaker 2: and even all the way up into season nineteen, is
- 16:01Speaker 2: somebody that just compromises for the betterment of everybody else,
- 16:05Speaker 2: Like she sacrifices so much because she's working for everybody.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But I think she's legitimately happy with it, though it's
- 16:11Speaker 1: not like she has an aspiration for something more, Like
- 16:14Speaker 1: she always took a little bit less, but she was
- 16:16Speaker 1: fine with it as long as you didn't fuck with
- 16:18Speaker 1: her kids. She was no problem with it.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I guess, or maybe she was made to be fine
- 16:22Speaker 2: with that. I don't know. That was just kind of
- 16:24Speaker 2: my vibe with it. I'm just like, man, like, you
- 16:26Speaker 2: can't even like take her out on a trip though
- 16:27Speaker 2: for her twentieth aniverse.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I don't want to go on a trip. I don't
- 16:30Speaker 1: want to go to a restaurant where I have to
- 16:32Speaker 1: dress up. I would rather do a hundred other things
- 16:35Speaker 1: than to do that. I do like nice things, yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 1: I don't want to go and shop for them, though
- 16:39Speaker 1: I don't want to leave my house ever. I don't
- 16:41Speaker 1: want to talk to other people. I don't want to
- 16:42Speaker 1: associate with anybody I care for any place.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I don't know. I just felt like Janelle got jipped.
- 16:48Speaker 2: That's just my opinion. Like maybe she's happy with it.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I just feel like you couldn't have gotten her some
- 16:52Speaker 2: flowers though, or like you couldn't have gotten her like
- 16:54Speaker 2: a little gift like you just bought a new bed set,
- 16:57Speaker 2: and then that's going to be the gifts for all
- 16:59Speaker 2: of her shit all year. It would have been one
- 17:01Speaker 2: thing if it was like just an anniversary gift and
- 17:03Speaker 2: then she got something for her birthday or she got
- 17:05Speaker 2: a little something for Christy.
- 17:06Speaker 1: But they don't have the money, and it's actually Janelle
- 17:08Speaker 1: that suggests the layaway plan, Like, I don't know, I
- 17:12Speaker 1: think that this is just where they are right now,
- 17:14Speaker 1: and even though they're moving into the Call to sac
- 17:15Speaker 1: into what you know, we would call McMansions, I don't
- 17:18Speaker 1: think there's a lot of fluidity. They don't have a
- 17:21Speaker 1: lot of money, and we kind of see that with
- 17:23Speaker 1: Cody surprising her later in this episode ye by not
- 17:26Speaker 1: doing the layoway and getting the bed for her just
- 17:28Speaker 1: to surprise her on Christmas, which I mean is what
- 17:31Speaker 1: he can do in that moment and was very sweet
- 17:34Speaker 1: and I think was again meaningful for Janelle. Yeah, you
- 17:37Speaker 1: want more for people, but if they don't care and
- 17:40Speaker 1: they don't want it for themselves, like who cares?
- 17:41Speaker 2: Then who cares? I know. I just that was my
- 17:43Speaker 2: vibe through this whole episode because I'm just like okay,
- 17:46Speaker 2: really man, and like you don't have the money because
- 17:48Speaker 2: we're spending it on all these big ass houses and
- 17:50Speaker 2: your little sports car and like Robin's fake nails and
- 17:53Speaker 2: her jewelry and like all this stuff. Like we're putting
- 17:56Speaker 2: money everywhere else, we're not really prioritizing Janelle or any
- 18:01Speaker 2: of the other wives. That was just kind of my vibe.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Well, I was more interested when he referenced their intimate time,
- 18:08Speaker 1: because yeah, that's really rare for them to talk about that.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I mean maybe in the in the later episodes, I
- 18:13Speaker 1: mean seasons like season eighteen, season nineteen, you've got Janelle
- 18:17Speaker 1: kind of alluding to the fact that there's no problem
- 18:19Speaker 1: there was no problem in the bedroom between her and Cody.
- 18:23Speaker 1: But to see him refer to their intimacy is awkward
- 18:27Speaker 1: because they are so pragmatic. Yeah, pragmatic almost like brother
- 18:30Speaker 1: and sister.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I was like, huh, I wonder what that's like.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I know, well, and didn't they have like a renaissance
- 18:36Speaker 2: in Vegas with There's actually.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, so so maybe I thought it was called a
- 18:42Speaker 1: sac Vegas. I don't know that it was rental house Vegas.
- 18:44Speaker 1: So I think we were about to enter the sexual
- 18:48Speaker 1: renaissance of Janelle and Cody, and we'll be able to
- 18:51Speaker 1: observe and see if we, you know, notice a vibe shift.
- 18:54Speaker 2: While they're breaking in that new bid frame. I guess.
- 18:57Speaker 2: I guess it's like, is it a full bed.
- 19:00Speaker 1: It's not.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 19:01Speaker 1: It's not even a king. I know, I don't even
- 19:03Speaker 1: know that it's a queen.
- 19:05Speaker 2: I don't know. It looks kind of like a double
- 19:06Speaker 2: or a fall.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I'm just gonna make like a really unhinged, crazy comment.
- 19:12Speaker 2: But like when we were at the mattress shop and
- 19:15Speaker 2: they were laying on the beds, did you look at
- 19:17Speaker 2: their feet? No, Janelle's feet were black, dude, they were
- 19:21Speaker 2: so dirty. And then Cody was wearing his dirty ass
- 19:24Speaker 2: socks and they were both putting their nasty ass feet
- 19:27Speaker 2: on these mattresses at the mattress store.
- 19:29Speaker 1: No, I did not notice that at all.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I did.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Why would Janelle have black feet?
- 19:33Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I don't know. If she's walking around her house maybe barefoot.
- 19:37Speaker 2: And like I would be so embarrassed. Yeah, we're black
- 19:42Speaker 2: on the show. But yeah, I just noticed that. I
- 19:44Speaker 2: don't know if anybody else noticed that when they rewatched it,
- 19:47Speaker 2: But yeah, yikes. Anyway, so then they go and get
- 19:50Speaker 2: their bed and Janelle's really happy about it, and then
- 19:53Speaker 2: we have like a brief scene of Robin and Cody
- 19:56Speaker 2: doing a full walk through through their house, and and
- 20:00Speaker 2: Cody are just infatuated with each other. I mean, she
- 20:05Speaker 2: makes a comment about cooking in her double ovens.
- 20:08Speaker 1: And she refers to it as convection ovens. She's not
- 20:11Speaker 1: even pointing out that it's a double oven, and she's
- 20:14Speaker 1: talking about how she can cook four things at once,
- 20:16Speaker 1: and I'm like, girl, it's not because it's a convection
- 20:20Speaker 1: oven and does it all require the same temperature? Like,
- 20:24Speaker 1: she's so dumb. And here again you can tell she's
- 20:26Speaker 1: never really had nice things, and so she's trying to
- 20:29Speaker 1: talk about it as if she's an expert on it,
- 20:31Speaker 1: but she's clueless. Yeah, but it's kind of sweet too
- 20:34Speaker 1: because she's very excited.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Yeah, she is very excited. And then Cody makes a
- 20:38Speaker 2: comment being like, you're too beautiful, you don't even need
- 20:40Speaker 2: to cook, and they like make out in front of
- 20:42Speaker 2: the builders and stuff, and I'm just like, wow, man, Yeah,
- 20:45Speaker 2: the disparity between all the other wives and him and
- 20:48Speaker 2: Robin is just so crazy. And it's like, I want
- 20:51Speaker 2: to be happy for them that they found each other
- 20:53Speaker 2: and that they are genuinely in love, but I just
- 20:55Speaker 2: fucking hate them so much. When I see them being
- 20:58Speaker 2: like all happy like this, I'm like.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Fuck, yeah, yeah, because of the duplicity and the lies
- 21:03Speaker 1: and the clandestine stuff that they do behind the scenes
- 21:07Speaker 1: that they lie about. Yeah, so of course we hate them,
- 21:10Speaker 1: But I can see in these moments, and I'm just
- 21:12Speaker 1: going to say, I can see like an innocent love between.
- 21:16Speaker 2: These two totally.
- 21:17Speaker 1: They're both sprung for one another, and there's something sweet
- 21:20Speaker 1: about that. But just how toxic and dark and evil
- 21:24Speaker 1: the terms over time and ends up being weaponized to
- 21:28Speaker 1: hurt children and women. I mean, obviously it ends up bad.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Yeah, very very bad. And then we have a scene
- 21:34Speaker 2: where the whole family is gathered at Mary's to make
- 21:37Speaker 2: that joint mission statement for the family and I'm bored.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm bored too. They refer back to a visit
- 21:45Speaker 1: and a little vacation they took with the Darkers that
- 21:48Speaker 1: allegedly very abusive, toxic masculinity dude and his weird wives. Yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 1: and they were trying to get the Browns to share
- 21:58Speaker 1: a kitchen back then and also telling them about the
- 22:00Speaker 1: mission statement that they made for their own family, and
- 22:03Speaker 1: so of course the Browns thought that this would be
- 22:05Speaker 1: great content for TLC. That's an episode that they could do.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And now they're pretending that they're interested in a mission statement. Yeah.
- 22:13Speaker 2: And Janelle makes a comment on the couch and says
- 22:15Speaker 2: that this is very tedious, and I thought that was hilarious.
- 22:18Speaker 2: She's like, why are we even doing this? This is dumb.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Yeah, because they're meeting and Christina is orchestrating the whole
- 22:24Speaker 1: thing and asking the kids to write down their favorite things,
- 22:27Speaker 1: what they want, what they don't want, and Janelle is
- 22:29Speaker 1: bored and I'm bored. Yeah, and I've checked out, I've
- 22:32Speaker 1: gone astrol I'm in another dimension.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Yep, me too. And then Cody makes a stupid comment
- 22:38Speaker 2: at the end of this where he's like, yeah, ten
- 22:40Speaker 2: to thirteen years ago, I felt like I was a
- 22:42Speaker 2: failure and I was just a fireman putting out all
- 22:45Speaker 2: of these fires in our family, and now I really
- 22:47Speaker 2: want to change that and be an architect and build
- 22:50Speaker 2: my family up. And I'm like, wow, this aged like milk, dude,
- 22:54Speaker 2: because you didn't do that at all.
- 22:56Speaker 1: No, And I think a couple of episodes ago, you
- 22:59Speaker 1: and I talked about how they were drinking from a
- 23:02Speaker 1: fire hose for the most part, like they weren't intentional
- 23:05Speaker 1: in the way they were crafting their marriages and the
- 23:07Speaker 1: way that they were bringing up their children. They're constantly moving,
- 23:10Speaker 1: they're uprooting, They're not thinking about what they want to
- 23:12Speaker 1: build long term, and so it feels like Cody gets
- 23:16Speaker 1: that here, and maybe Robin gets that because Robin strikes
- 23:20Speaker 1: me as one of those women who's like into manifestation
- 23:24Speaker 1: and like visualization and the law of attraction. I can
- 23:28Speaker 1: kind of feel that Christine as well, So maybe they're
- 23:31Speaker 1: talking in those terms right about now and thinking about
- 23:33Speaker 1: the lives they want to create. It's just sad, though,
- 23:36Speaker 1: because they end up only living in these homes for
- 23:39Speaker 1: like five years before they impulsively uproot again and move
- 23:45Speaker 1: the family to flag Staff. And there was a scene
- 23:48Speaker 1: here where they were talking about Hunter and how difficult
- 23:52Speaker 1: it was, and Janelle even cries on the couch. She's like,
- 23:54Speaker 1: I don't even want to talk about this. It was
- 23:55Speaker 1: so difficult. But when they moved from Lehigh to Vegas,
- 24:00Speaker 1: Hunter fell into a depression and he didn't even want
- 24:02Speaker 1: to participate with the family or life, like he was
- 24:05Speaker 1: completely checked out. But Hunter has come around. He's happy,
- 24:09Speaker 1: he's part of his high school, he's wrestling, he's doing
- 24:12Speaker 1: very very well. But then in five years, you're gonna
- 24:14Speaker 1: turn around and do the same damn thing to Gabe. Yep,
- 24:17Speaker 1: you're gonna uproot him, You're gonna take him to Flagstaff,
- 24:19Speaker 1: You're gonna hurl him into a depression. And then Covid
- 24:21Speaker 1: hits yeah, like, you're constantly doing this to your children.
- 24:25Speaker 2: I know. It's so fucked up, and it makes me
- 24:27Speaker 2: so upset as somebody who moved around a lot as
- 24:30Speaker 2: a kid, like that shit was so dramatic, and I
- 24:32Speaker 2: felt like my parents didn't give a fuck that we
- 24:34Speaker 2: had to upride our lives literally every single year for
- 24:37Speaker 2: no fucking reason. And it just bothers me. Because Janelle
- 24:40Speaker 2: is breaking down talking about her kids because it deeply
- 24:43Speaker 2: affects her, and she seems like the only one that's
- 24:45Speaker 2: like really affected and troubled by the fact that she
- 24:48Speaker 2: did this to her kids, and she did it because
- 24:50Speaker 2: all of the other adults did it and the whole
- 24:52Speaker 2: family does it, So she's like gotta go along with it.
- 24:54Speaker 2: But like, holy shit, just knowing that they did all
- 24:56Speaker 2: of this work to get into the cul de Sac
- 24:59Speaker 2: homes only to just leave it again and then separate
- 25:01Speaker 2: again and then ultimately destroy their family and flag Staff
- 25:04Speaker 2: is just wild to see.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I think this really speaks to how some people like
- 25:11Speaker 1: focus on outward things in order to get some inner peace.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Like they have the perfect situation here in Vegas. They've
- 25:20Speaker 1: got this call to sac. They are all together as
- 25:23Speaker 1: a family. Cody can spend time with everybody equally if
- 25:26Speaker 1: he wants to, like it's a perfect situation, but because
- 25:29Speaker 1: he doesn't do any actual inner work, because nobody's getting therapy,
- 25:34Speaker 1: because nobody is looking at their impulses and their urges
- 25:36Speaker 1: to move around to change or urg just for chaos,
- 25:39Speaker 1: like they constantly succumb to it. And then they say, well,
- 25:43Speaker 1: this is what we need to do. Though, we've got
- 25:44Speaker 1: to do it because you know, this is a harmful situation,
- 25:47Speaker 1: this is not a safe situation. And now we're leaving
- 25:49Speaker 1: Lehi go into Vegas and yeah, then we go to
- 25:51Speaker 1: Vegas to flag Staff and it's just like deal with
- 25:54Speaker 1: your shit, though, for ask yourself, why do I feel
- 25:57Speaker 1: the need to constantly change in this way. Why do
- 25:59Speaker 1: I feel the need to put my children through all
- 26:02Speaker 1: of this trauma to what end right?
- 26:04Speaker 2: Like?
- 26:04Speaker 1: But they never actually get to the point where they
- 26:06Speaker 1: ask themselves those questions.
- 26:08Speaker 2: No, they never do because they can't reflect. They can't
- 26:11Speaker 2: like look at their own lives and look at their shit,
- 26:13Speaker 2: So they're just going to keep doing it. I feel
- 26:15Speaker 2: like Cody and Robin especially, like now that they're in
- 26:18Speaker 2: that two point one million dollar mansion, I'm like, why
- 26:20Speaker 2: do you even have to move? Like, why do you
- 26:22Speaker 2: even have to get a big or bigger house. It's
- 26:25Speaker 2: just a band aid to put on the fact that
- 26:26Speaker 2: they destroyed their family and have caused irreparable harm. And
- 26:32Speaker 2: now they're in this big mansion, they're going to feel
- 26:34Speaker 2: better about themselves until they ultimately can't afford it.
- 26:36Speaker 1: And it's also like what they think they're projecting to
- 26:39Speaker 1: the world but also to the rest of the family, like, well,
- 26:42Speaker 1: you can come for us, you can hate us, you
- 26:44Speaker 1: can go no contact with us, but look at how
- 26:45Speaker 1: we're living over here with our Mercedes and our Lexus
- 26:49Speaker 1: and our new mansion. They don't need it. They could
- 26:52Speaker 1: stay in the mc mansion because for all intents and purposes,
- 26:55Speaker 1: A Rara Brianna Dayton should be out of that house,
- 26:58Speaker 1: and they're going to leave the house here shortly. Now
- 27:00Speaker 1: you're going to have two kids in a huge freakin' home.
- 27:03Speaker 1: The McMansion would be too big for everybody for sure,
- 27:05Speaker 1: But now you're going to move to an even bigger
- 27:07Speaker 1: home with just your two little kids. For what what
- 27:11Speaker 1: are you searching for? What are you trying to shove
- 27:13Speaker 1: down into your inner beings that you can feel like
- 27:16Speaker 1: you're a worthwhile person. And Cody actually talks a little
- 27:18Speaker 1: bit about that in this episode when he does say
- 27:21Speaker 1: how things were really hard and he didn't feel like
- 27:24Speaker 1: he was a good provider. I'm extrapolating and I'm paraphrasing.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I'm kind of getting to the heart of what I
- 27:31Speaker 1: think he was trying to say, Like, it sounds like
- 27:33Speaker 1: he wasn't working. It sounds like he wasn't providing. It
- 27:36Speaker 1: sounds like they were living in a level of poverty,
- 27:38Speaker 1: and that was something that was shameful to him. And
- 27:41Speaker 1: now things are starting to change because they do have funds,
- 27:44Speaker 1: they have resources, and so they're becoming their architect. But
- 27:46Speaker 1: for a very long time he felt less then, and
- 27:49Speaker 1: that's because on some level he was less then. For sure,
- 27:53Speaker 1: you made a bunch of dumb decisions. Yeah, to be
- 27:56Speaker 1: a polygamist and take on all these wives and have
- 27:58Speaker 1: all of these kids, and how are you supposed to
- 28:01Speaker 1: manage that? You can't?
- 28:02Speaker 2: No, yeah, I mean they were living in a fucking trailer,
- 28:05Speaker 2: like all of them were living in like a tiny
- 28:06Speaker 2: little single Why God, I literally can't even imagine. So yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 2: like I bet he does feel some shame, but like,
- 28:11Speaker 2: fucking deal with that, dude, right, go to fucking therapy
- 28:14Speaker 2: instead of overcompensating, because now you just look even dumber.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Do Mormons not go to therapy? Like is that not
- 28:20Speaker 1: a thing?
- 28:20Speaker 2: I don't know, Actually I know they don't do the
- 28:23Speaker 2: doctors and stuff. They go to chiropractors and things like that.
- 28:26Speaker 2: If those were Christian scientists, I don't know. No, remember,
- 28:29Speaker 2: like Mormons go to doctors. No, in the earlier episodes,
- 28:31Speaker 2: they went to chiropractors, and.
- 28:33Speaker 1: That was polygamists because and they went to a chiropractor
- 28:37Speaker 1: because the chiropractor was polygamist friendly. I think that they
- 28:40Speaker 1: still go to doctors well regular moments, but I mean
- 28:43Speaker 1: you never hear them talk about therapy.
- 28:46Speaker 2: No, yeah, I don't know.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I don't know. But in like charismatic Christian churches, the
- 28:50Speaker 1: churches we came up in, like if you wanted therapy,
- 28:53Speaker 1: it was typically with the pastor and his wife, if
- 28:55Speaker 1: it was like marriage counseling, or you met with the
- 28:57Speaker 1: pastor if it was individual counsel which is obviously shitty. Yeah,
- 29:03Speaker 1: but we were never encouraged to get actual therapy.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Wow. It could also be a generational thing too, Like
- 29:08Speaker 2: I mean, no offense, but gen xers and stuff tend
- 29:10Speaker 2: to be kind of resistant to it. Not you, but
- 29:13Speaker 2: like I've been in therapy since my twenties, I know,
- 29:15Speaker 2: in an out of therapy. Yeah, but a lot of
- 29:17Speaker 2: other gen xers I know were like, oh, I don't
- 29:19Speaker 2: want to go to therapy. I hate therapy. I don't
- 29:21Speaker 2: need help.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I feel like we're the ones that popularize therapy. Honestly,
- 29:24Speaker 1: we were born of baby boomers and the silent general
- 29:27Speaker 1: puked up talk silent generation especially talk about some fucked
- 29:31Speaker 1: up people. So I don't know, I feel like a
- 29:33Speaker 1: lot of people I knew growing up, not growing up
- 29:36Speaker 1: as a child, but like twenties, thirties, forties, they were
- 29:39Speaker 1: in therapy.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Well that's good. Yeah, not the people you.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Know, maybe not your family.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I don't know, but maybe I'm an outlier though, I
- 29:45Speaker 2: don't know. Yeah, all right, And then we have a
- 29:47Speaker 2: scene where Cody and Mary do their house walk through,
- 29:51Speaker 2: and Mary's bitch ass starts immediately critiquing the smallest little things.
- 29:57Speaker 2: She starts off with the lamps above the fuck kitchen
- 30:00Speaker 2: island and how they're not level, and then it's the
- 30:03Speaker 2: fucking mantle above the fireplaces not level. And then you
- 30:06Speaker 2: see other little scenes where she's like checking the blinds
- 30:09Speaker 2: and she's looking at the corridors and everything, and she's
- 30:12Speaker 2: nitpicking all this shit, and I'm just like, Mary, this
- 30:15Speaker 2: is why your house is not ready?
- 30:19Speaker 1: Hashtag team Mary? What hashtag team Mary? Almost? She's paying
- 30:25Speaker 1: such a good money for this home. If she's got
- 30:28Speaker 1: even a touch of the OCD, she's gonna notice when
- 30:31Speaker 1: things are out of order. Don't you walk into a
- 30:33Speaker 1: room sometimes and you're like, what the fuck is no
- 30:36Speaker 1: symmetry here?
- 30:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Doesn't it cause you a little bit of distress? I
- 30:39Speaker 1: think if Mary has even a little bit of that,
- 30:41Speaker 1: then she's going to notice that. And now is the
- 30:43Speaker 1: time before you move in to make sure that the
- 30:46Speaker 1: builder makes changes, especially if they got shit wrong. So yeah,
- 30:49Speaker 1: if your pendant lights are uneven, fixed that shit. Although
- 30:54Speaker 1: it's probably just a matter of adjusting the chain and
- 30:56Speaker 1: she can do it herself or she can hire somebody later.
- 30:59Speaker 1: But if your mantle, your concrete mantle is not level,
- 31:04Speaker 1: that's the problem. I would I would be doing the
- 31:06Speaker 1: exact same thing. However, like before we get to this point,
- 31:11Speaker 1: Mary has been holding up the process by not submitting
- 31:14Speaker 1: her documents in time, by repeatedly going to the job
- 31:18Speaker 1: site and taking her scrapbook pictures, yeah, and doing all
- 31:22Speaker 1: of this nonsense. So to do this now in addition
- 31:25Speaker 1: to that, that's what I'm saying. Absolutely, she is causing
- 31:28Speaker 1: her own problem here. But like, I don't fault for
- 31:31Speaker 1: noticing this, but maybe that's she's a capricorn. I'm a
- 31:35Speaker 1: I'm just like, get this shit right in paying so.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Critical well, and she does say that, she's like, we're
- 31:40Speaker 2: paying a lot of money for these houses, and that's
- 31:43Speaker 2: completely fair and valid. But if you were like nitpicking
- 31:47Speaker 2: like the smallest thing, and the builder and your husband
- 31:49Speaker 2: and everybody else who's looking at these lights and looking
- 31:51Speaker 2: at the mantle, and saying they look fucking fine, like
- 31:54Speaker 2: they don't look not level, Like it looks perfectly fine.
- 31:57Speaker 2: You can roll a mark, you can put a marble
- 31:58Speaker 2: on it and it won't roll off. And Mary's still like,
- 32:01Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know, it still looks uneven.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Then it's like, Okay, you're being way too fucking critical
- 32:07Speaker 2: and for what Like at that.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Point you have to weigh what it is you want more?
- 32:13Speaker 1: Do you want perfection more or do you want to
- 32:15Speaker 1: be able to move into the home with Leon by Christmas? More?
- 32:19Speaker 2: Like?
- 32:19Speaker 1: Which one is more important to you?
- 32:21Speaker 2: Exactly?
- 32:22Speaker 1: And I don't think she's thinking in those terms. She
- 32:23Speaker 1: just wants to get what she wants to get, and
- 32:26Speaker 1: she wants to get that ship right now exactly.
- 32:28Speaker 2: And it's pissing Cody off. And I can see why.
- 32:31Speaker 2: It's kind of funny because they're both Capricorn. So I'm
- 32:33Speaker 2: just like, Cody, shouldn't you be the same way? But
- 32:35Speaker 2: he's like the complete opposite. He's so flighty and like
- 32:38Speaker 2: not as critical. Well, I guess maybe he is critical
- 32:41Speaker 2: criticising sign. I don't know.
- 32:43Speaker 1: It's probably Pisces. Oh god, what's what's well, what's in
- 32:49Speaker 1: that's water, what's an aries?
- 32:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 32:52Speaker 1: What is that sign in the zodiac? Gemini very flighty ver?
- 32:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I can see that. But yeah, this scene drive
- 33:03Speaker 2: drove me nuts because I'm just like Mary. And the
- 33:05Speaker 2: very next scene with Mona when she comes over to
- 33:07Speaker 2: break the news, you're.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Gonna cry about it.
- 33:09Speaker 2: You're gonna cry about it. And so Mona comes over
- 33:12Speaker 2: and tells everybody, look, some of y'all are getting in
- 33:16Speaker 2: before Christmas, and one of y'all ain't, and spoiler it's Mary.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Everyone else gets in before Christmas, like I said last week,
- 33:23Speaker 2: because I skipped and I saw a head. Everyone gets in.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Janelle's first, which is really awesome. She's super excited about
- 33:31Speaker 2: it because her kids were really wanting to get into
- 33:33Speaker 2: the houses and she's like emotional about it, which made
- 33:36Speaker 2: me really happy. And then next office Robin, and then
- 33:40Speaker 2: Christine is last, and then Mary has to wait until after.
- 33:43Speaker 1: The Holloby determined yep, yep.
- 33:46Speaker 2: And then she starts crying and Cody and Robin have
- 33:49Speaker 2: to comfort her. They're like, oh, it's okay, they're there.
- 33:52Speaker 2: At least the rest of us can get into our houses.
- 33:56Speaker 1: We can spend Christmas in one of the houses. But Mary,
- 33:59Speaker 1: you really did this to yourself. And I'm talking about
- 34:02Speaker 1: like what you've done to Leon, because you gave Leon
- 34:05Speaker 1: the expectation that everybody would be in the house by Christmas,
- 34:09Speaker 1: and so Leon is truly looking forward to this. This
- 34:12Speaker 1: is the last year really that Leon's going to be there.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure Leon's going to come back for
- 34:17Speaker 1: Christmas and things of that nature. But Mary, you fucked
- 34:20Speaker 1: this shit up, and now Leon's going to be heartbroken,
- 34:23Speaker 1: and you have nobody to blame but yourself, And so
- 34:25Speaker 1: she feels bad for that, I'm sure, and she's a
- 34:28Speaker 1: mom and she wants to do the right thing by
- 34:29Speaker 1: her kid.
- 34:30Speaker 2: But like, you should have.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Turned a paperworking. Uh, should have been less of a perfectionist,
- 34:35Speaker 1: and you should have set the expectations for your child
- 34:39Speaker 1: more appropriately. And we actually have Robin in this episode
- 34:42Speaker 1: talk about that because I talked about this last week
- 34:44Speaker 1: as a mom, I'm not going to even allude to
- 34:47Speaker 1: the potential that you're going to get this great thing
- 34:50Speaker 1: by this great date if I'm not one hundred percent sure.
- 34:54Speaker 1: And Robin is of the same mind. She does not
- 34:56Speaker 1: tell her children they're going to be somewhere if she
- 34:58Speaker 1: doesn't know it for sure.
- 34:59Speaker 2: I thought I was interesting that Robin even made that comment.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I wonder if, like she had been talking with Mary
- 35:05Speaker 2: about it, and she was making that comment kind of
- 35:07Speaker 2: passive aggressively, like, oh, I would not promise anything to
- 35:09Speaker 2: my kids that I can't keep, Like I'll tell them
- 35:12Speaker 2: right when I know for sure it's gonna happen. That way,
- 35:14Speaker 2: I don't break their hearts. Like I wonder if it
- 35:16Speaker 2: was kind of a little bit of a snide comment
- 35:19Speaker 2: to Mary, because Mary was the one that she was
- 35:22Speaker 2: promising Leon over and over again, We're gonna be in
- 35:25Speaker 2: by Christmas, We're gonna be in for Christmas, and Leon
- 35:27Speaker 2: straight up told Mary I don't want anything for Christmas
- 35:30Speaker 2: except being in the house and Mary couldn't even deliver
- 35:32Speaker 2: that because the fucking lamps above your island were not
- 35:36Speaker 2: level apparently, and you couldn't fix it. I'm just like,
- 35:39Speaker 2: oh I can't. It made me so mad, I'm Leon
- 35:42Speaker 2: in this episode, I'm like, fuck.
- 35:44Speaker 1: You, mom, that's me. Yeah. Leon really was doing that.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Oh yes, very petulant, Yeah, super pissed. And then we
- 35:52Speaker 2: have kind of an interesting observation from Danny the Builder
- 35:56Speaker 2: where he comments on Cody and his behavior with each
- 35:59Speaker 2: of the He's like, yeah, he really is different for
- 36:02Speaker 2: each one of them. He says. With Janelle, Cody's very serious,
- 36:06Speaker 2: not like business like, but just very matter of fact,
- 36:09Speaker 2: very pragmatic, he says. With Christine, he's very jovial, which
- 36:12Speaker 2: is interesting. With Mary, he's very accommodating, even though he
- 36:17Speaker 2: doesn't always agree with her. And then with Robin, it's
- 36:20Speaker 2: like they're still in the newlywed honeymoon phase and they're
- 36:23Speaker 2: just infatuated. So I thought it was interesting that this
- 36:26Speaker 2: random fucking guy is totally calling it out with how
- 36:31Speaker 2: Cody is with each of the wives, and I'm just like, man,
- 36:33Speaker 2: what changed, Cody? You had a balance, You were balancing
- 36:37Speaker 2: it out pretty okay earlier.
- 36:39Speaker 1: I think he just got tired of showing up differently
- 36:42Speaker 1: for each of these women. He just wanted to be
- 36:44Speaker 1: himself and as himself. He only loved one woman, and
- 36:47Speaker 1: that was Robin, and he was tired of hiding it.
- 36:50Speaker 1: He was tired of trying to accommodate these other women
- 36:53Speaker 1: and what they needed from him. But at this point
- 36:55Speaker 1: in twenty twelve or twenty thirteen season six, he's still trying. Yeah, trying.
- 37:00Speaker 2: He seems like he's doing an okay job.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I think he hates Christine here, really, yes, because Christine
- 37:05Speaker 1: with her dumb outbursts all the time, Christine with her
- 37:09Speaker 1: mission statement and taking this family on this huge journey,
- 37:12Speaker 1: Like yeah, I just think he does not accommodating Mary.
- 37:15Speaker 1: So the builder notices he accommodates Mary. That's because there's
- 37:18Speaker 1: always some sort of a power struggle between them, and
- 37:22Speaker 1: I bet that in their history, Mary has made it
- 37:25Speaker 1: very hard for him totally and he's had to give
- 37:28Speaker 1: in a lot to Mary, and so he's still doing
- 37:30Speaker 1: that to this day. But at some point he's just like,
- 37:32Speaker 1: I can't do it anymore with you bitches. I'm sick
- 37:34Speaker 1: of it. I'm tired of it. Except for Janelle. And
- 37:37Speaker 1: even in season nineteen, he's still holding out a little
- 37:40Speaker 1: bit of hope for Janelle because he still loves her
- 37:43Speaker 1: and I think he respects Janelle. But of course he
- 37:46Speaker 1: can't play his hand because if Janelle's going to reject
- 37:49Speaker 1: him and he's an arc, well then that's going to
- 37:52Speaker 1: bring great shame to him.
- 37:53Speaker 2: But he still loves her, yeah, or her money. It's
- 37:56Speaker 2: like hard for me to tell because he loves in
- 37:59Speaker 2: these earlier seasons, like he seems pretty okay with Christine.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I don't think he hates her yet. I think he's
- 38:04Speaker 2: probably annoyed with her. I think he hates Mary. I
- 38:08Speaker 2: think during these walk throughs and stuff, like he was
- 38:10Speaker 2: getting so fucking tired of Mary, and like how critical
- 38:13Speaker 2: she was of the house and how she's always changing things,
- 38:16Speaker 2: and the fact that the builder says that he's very
- 38:18Speaker 2: accommodating to her. It just means that he just really,
- 38:21Speaker 2: like you said, gives into everything that she wants because
- 38:24Speaker 2: she fights him on everything. And that speaks to what
- 38:26Speaker 2: he said about her in season nineteen. Now is everything
- 38:29Speaker 2: that he said in season nineteen fucking nice or accurate? Like, No,
- 38:34Speaker 2: it's definitely hyperbolic and lies and a bunch of bullshit
- 38:37Speaker 2: and it's mean spirited. But at the same time, I
- 38:40Speaker 2: can understand like the root of the issue, which, yeah,
- 38:44Speaker 2: like the power struggles and the constant biting heads. I mean,
- 38:47Speaker 2: two capricorns together, dude, sounds terrible, honestly, Yeah, oh God,
- 38:53Speaker 2: sounds like a lot. And then we have Janelle and
- 38:56Speaker 2: her kids moving into the house early because they got
- 38:59Speaker 2: their keys first. They did their walk through and the
- 39:02Speaker 2: kids are so excited they can't wait another night. So
- 39:04Speaker 2: they're packing up their bags and they're gonna go sleep
- 39:07Speaker 2: on the floor in the new house. And they're all
- 39:09Speaker 2: super excited. And Christine, which I loved, is going to
- 39:14Speaker 2: cook a giant meal for the entire family in Janelle's
- 39:17Speaker 2: new house. And they're also going to celebrate Joseph Smith's
- 39:20Speaker 2: dumberthday for some reason.
- 39:22Speaker 1: And then well they're Mormons, I don't know, so.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Whatever, and then Christine's gonna give the Kiffs kids all
- 39:30Speaker 2: a bunch of thoughtful gifts. Yeah. I loved this. This
- 39:33Speaker 2: is where Christine shines for me. I'm like, man, that
- 39:35Speaker 2: took so much work and so much effort, and she
- 39:38Speaker 2: put that together for the entire family just because she
- 39:41Speaker 2: wanted everybody to be happy. I loved that.
- 39:44Speaker 1: I thought it was really special. The gifts that she
- 39:46Speaker 1: gives to the children. I think it's their names and
- 39:49Speaker 1: then an explanation of what their names actually mean. And
- 39:53Speaker 1: then on the couch with all of the adults, Cody
- 39:55Speaker 1: does talk about how that was such a lovely gesture
- 39:59Speaker 1: and that Christine does do things like this and Christine
- 40:02Speaker 1: knew it was really important for him to have all
- 40:05Speaker 1: of the children feel like siblings. Yeah, And so in
- 40:08Speaker 1: that moment for all of the kids to get that
- 40:11Speaker 1: gift that really bound them together, and I thought that
- 40:13Speaker 1: was a lovely It was a lovely moment. Christine is
- 40:16Speaker 1: just such a nurturer and such a maternal figure, like
- 40:19Speaker 1: it comes so naturally to her, for example, unlike with Janelle,
- 40:22Speaker 1: it's not the same. She brings something different to the table.
- 40:25Speaker 1: But it's nice to see Christine in her element.
- 40:28Speaker 2: And that's why I think, like with Cody, I don't
- 40:30Speaker 2: think he hates her in these seasons yet because I
- 40:32Speaker 2: think he holds onto these moments with Christine because those
- 40:35Speaker 2: moments I think are really lovable. Like the rest of
- 40:37Speaker 2: the time she's kind of annoying and loud and like
- 40:40Speaker 2: dramatic and stuff, But these moments, I'm like, man, that's
- 40:43Speaker 2: really amazing that you could cook for a million fucking
- 40:47Speaker 2: people in a day, like and she's just so effortless
- 40:49Speaker 2: about it, just fucking chopping celery and cooking Tira missou
- 40:52Speaker 2: and like all these big meals and stuff with everybody
- 40:55Speaker 2: and setting it up with all the tables and everything
- 40:57Speaker 2: at Janelle's house, and then also finding time to make
- 41:00Speaker 2: all of these gifts with everybody's name. I'm like, man,
- 41:02Speaker 2: that's so nice. I don't know, I just really like that.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I thought it was really sweet. And then we have
- 41:06Speaker 2: a scene with Robin yelling at her kids, specifically Aurora,
- 41:10Speaker 2: to get off her fucking ass and pack her bags
- 41:13Speaker 2: to go see her biological dad. And I thought it
- 41:16Speaker 2: was interesting because Robin talks to her kids kind of
- 41:18Speaker 2: in a weird way in my opinion. I don't know,
- 41:20Speaker 2: she like on the camera, she's trying to be kind
- 41:23Speaker 2: of nice, like yo, yo, yo yo, why don't you
- 41:26Speaker 2: go pack? Aurora? Stop playing with baby Saul. But I
- 41:29Speaker 2: feel like if the cameras were off, she'd be a
- 41:32Speaker 2: total fucking monster. And this is where Robin's like getting
- 41:37Speaker 2: the kids packed because they have to leave at three
- 41:39Speaker 2: in the afternoon for some reason for a sixteen hour
- 41:41Speaker 2: drive up to Montana, which I just think is crazy.
- 41:44Speaker 2: But she's really hoping she can get the keys to
- 41:46Speaker 2: her house before then so the kids can see the
- 41:48Speaker 2: house before they go see their dad, and lo and
- 41:51Speaker 2: behold they do so, then Cody and Robin get to
- 41:54Speaker 2: have their little moment and their house, where she is
- 41:58Speaker 2: super happy to have her convention on thins and everything.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Yeah, so they have their wonderful moment and it's great,
- 42:07Speaker 1: and she immediately wants to get on the road and
- 42:10Speaker 1: get up to Montana because they think she's worried about weather,
- 42:13Speaker 1: and I'm sure they want to stop along the way
- 42:15Speaker 1: and do the whole thing. But as she is getting
- 42:19Speaker 1: ready to get back on the road, here comes news
- 42:22Speaker 1: that Christine's keys are now available as well, and so
- 42:25Speaker 1: Robin turns it into this sort of sacrifice conversation, like, yeah,
- 42:29Speaker 1: I want to get up out of here, and I
- 42:31Speaker 1: want to get on the road because it's unsafe. Yeah,
- 42:34Speaker 1: it's unsafe, but I also need to take care of
- 42:37Speaker 1: my sister wife and I need to be here for Christine,
- 42:39Speaker 1: and so I really want her to have this moment
- 42:42Speaker 1: with Cody where she sees the house. Unfortunately, you know,
- 42:46Speaker 1: Christine does come over and they see the house, but
- 42:48Speaker 1: her kids aren't there to share that moment with Cody
- 42:52Speaker 1: and Christine. It's just them. And then Robin does walk
- 42:56Speaker 1: in and is happy for Christine and is given hugs
- 43:00Speaker 1: to Christine and Cody, but like, you are also invading
- 43:03Speaker 1: this moment where you know they should be celebrating as
- 43:06Speaker 1: a married couple exactly.
- 43:08Speaker 2: And it's like all the other wives, like Robin and
- 43:12Speaker 2: Janelle both got to have like a bit of a
- 43:15Speaker 2: moment with Cody. You got to walk through the house,
- 43:17Speaker 2: got to talk with the kids, got to like experience
- 43:19Speaker 2: it and be happy together. But when Christine gets her keys,
- 43:23Speaker 2: she gets all emotional and cries. She gets to walk
- 43:26Speaker 2: through like the living room, and then that's when Robin
- 43:28Speaker 2: comes in. It is like, okay, we gotta go now,
- 43:30Speaker 2: all right, congrats, Christine, we got to get on the road.
- 43:33Speaker 2: And then they get into that conversation about sacrifices and
- 43:37Speaker 2: it's a balance balancing act with the wives, and Robin
- 43:40Speaker 2: says something like, you know, you have to balance your
- 43:43Speaker 2: needs with your sister wives needs and you need to
- 43:45Speaker 2: have their back just as much as you wish that
- 43:47Speaker 2: they have your back. And it's like, yeah, that's great
- 43:50Speaker 2: in theory, but you're still taking the moment away from Christine.
- 43:53Speaker 2: And Christine is used to the sacrifices because she was
- 43:56Speaker 2: the basement wife, and like, so she'll do it, but
- 43:58Speaker 2: you can only do that for so long long, and
- 44:00Speaker 2: you can only abuse that for so long, Robin, because
- 44:03Speaker 2: now you get to have this weekend with Cody and
- 44:06Speaker 2: all of the other wives and children get to be alone,
- 44:08Speaker 2: Like and I think this is like the weekend before Christmas.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Is unsure that it's a visitation thing. She's got to
- 44:13Speaker 1: take them up for Christmas.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and my whole thing is like, this whole visitation
- 44:17Speaker 2: thing is so whack because they're leaving at three pm
- 44:19Speaker 2: and probably like a Friday afternoon. I'm like, why are
- 44:22Speaker 2: you leaving so late? When you're driving up to Montana
- 44:24Speaker 2: It's a sixteen hour plus drive. Cody has to drive
- 44:27Speaker 2: it because you're going to be a passenger princess and
- 44:29Speaker 2: you're not going to do anything. And I'm just like,
- 44:32Speaker 2: what is going on here? Like, you guys are just
- 44:33Speaker 2: going to have to get away.
- 44:34Speaker 1: She was waiting for her keys. She wanted to get
- 44:36Speaker 1: the key. She wanted her kids to see the house
- 44:38Speaker 1: before they actually all about her. Yeah, it is absolutely
- 44:41Speaker 1: all about her. But then you know the wrench in
- 44:44Speaker 1: the situation as Christine gets her keys as well. But yeah,
- 44:47Speaker 1: this is another demonstration of how Christine was, is and
- 44:51Speaker 1: forever will be the basement wife.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Yep. And like you can see Christine in these moments,
- 44:55Speaker 2: like being super emotional and a little dramatic, and like
- 44:58Speaker 2: how Cody's just so emotional, totally checked out, and it
- 45:03Speaker 2: speaks to like how Christina is now in season nineteen
- 45:05Speaker 2: with David, how she's so gushy and like she was
- 45:08Speaker 2: just wanting a partner that would be receptive to that
- 45:11Speaker 2: and like would be her sounding board and would love
- 45:14Speaker 2: her emotionality. And so I'm glad that she finally found
- 45:16Speaker 2: it with David, and it makes sense why she was
- 45:20Speaker 2: craving it so much and why she was so cringey
- 45:22Speaker 2: in season eighteen and season nineteen because Cody's just like, yeah, yeah,
- 45:26Speaker 2: I love you, Okay, I gotta go my. He doesn't
- 45:28Speaker 2: even say I love you when he leaves. It's pretty crazy. Yeah,
- 45:32Speaker 2: all right, And then we had the preview for next episode.
- 45:35Speaker 2: We have Leon pissed the fuck off.

- 45:46Speaker 2: because it seems like it's always about Mary. I don't know,
- 45:51Speaker 2: and then he also calls Mary dramatic I think for
- 45:54Speaker 2: the house.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Issue, probably and probably because she set this whole thing
- 45:59Speaker 1: in motion with Lee and Mary definitely didn't need to

- 46:36Speaker 2: And it speaks to your point earlier, like she was
- 46:38Speaker 2: his end all, be all soulmate. He loved her and
- 46:41Speaker 2: nobody else, and so yeah, it would be meaningful for
- 46:45Speaker 2: her to change her last name because her and Cody
- 46:48Speaker 2: are not legally married. It's just Mary and Cody at
- 46:51Speaker 2: this point. So yeah, he's like, oh my god, right,
- 46:54Speaker 2: so amazing.
