  Numbers chapter one, let us pray.

  Thank you Father, for your word. You are holy, you are worthy,

  and Lord, we just ask that you'll continue to show up and

  show off God and reveal truth to us today.

  Help us to know that every single word is divinely
• 0:18
  inspired, breathed on Father. So Lord, we receive it today.
• 0:26
  Lord, we believe. Father, help our unbelief
• 0:30
  increase our faith today. Help us to know, Lord, that you
• 0:35
  are, that you are worthy to be praised, or You are the highest
• 0:44
  and the loftiest. Forgive us for our many sins.
• 0:47
  Lord, keep us from the enemy. Form a hedge of protection
• 0:51
  around this house. Form a hedge of protection
• 0:55
  around our children. Father, Lord, lead us in
• 1:00
  righteous paths in Jesus name, Amen.

  Let's start verse one. And the Lord spoke unto Moses in
• 1:09
  the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tabernacle of the congregation
• 1:14
  on the first day of the second month in the second year after
• 1:18
  they were to come out of the land of Egypt, saying so here we
• 1:21
  are friends, this little calendar indicator.
• 1:25
  And it's showing us that they have been wandering about and
• 1:30
  that God had LED them to Mount Sinai.
• 1:33
  And he's given Moses all of these things.
• 1:36
  And what should have been a really quick two week journey is
• 1:39
  going to take them 40 years. Because they were murmuring and
• 1:43
  grumbling, and God had to wait for the first generation to die
• 1:48
  out before He allowed the second generation to come in to the
• 1:52
  land, flowing milk and honey, too.

  Take you to some of the congregation of the children of
• 1:58
  Israel after their families by the House of their fathers, with

  the number of their names, every male by their poles.

  So here he's going to organize all the people into a fighting
• 2:09
  army to go in and to take this land. 3 From 20 years old and

  Zebulam. Eliad the son of Helon 10, of

  the children of Joseph Ephraim Eli Shama, the son of Amelie

  Dude and Manessa Gamaliel the son of Padasur 11 in Benjamin.

  Abidan, the son of Gidenai 12 of Dan.
• 3:05
  Ahizer the son of Amashadai, 13 of Asha Pagaya the son of Okra,
• 3:11
  and 14 of Gad, Elisaf the son of Duel, 15 of Naftali, Ahira the
• 3:17
  son of Enon. 16 These were the renowned of the congregation,
• 3:21
  Princess of the tribe of the Fathers, heads of the thousands
• 3:24
  of Israel. 17 And Moses and Aaron took these men, which are

  expressed by their names. 18 And they assembled all the

  congregation together on the first day of the second month,

  So here God wants Moses and Aaron to organize all the people

  into their tribes, and he's going to number them, which

  shows that they are owned by God.

  God is the one who owns them. And we're going to see David get
• 4:03
  himself in trouble when he numbers the people against what
• 4:08
  God had told him. And it showed ownership.

  So God here is putting his stamp of ownership on all of the
• 4:15
  nation of Israel. They are his 19 as the Lord
• 4:20
  commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

  20 And the children of Reuben, Israel's oldest son, by their
• 4:30
  generations after their favor, families by the House of their
• 4:33
  fathers, according to the number of the names of the poles, every
• 4:37
  male from 20 years old and upward, they were able to go
• 4:40
  forth to war. 21 Those that were numbered of them even of the

  of the tribe of Gad, were 45,600 and 5026 Of the children of

  Judah, by their generations after their families, by the

  House of their fathers, according to the number of the

  names from 20 years old and upward, all that were able to go
• 5:43
  forth to war. 27 Those that were numbered of them, even of the
• 5:47
  tribe of Judah, were three score 14,628 of the children of
• 5:55
  Issachar by their generations after their families by the
• 5:58
  House of their fathers, according to the number of the

  names from 20 years old and upward, all that were able to go
• 6:05
  forth to war. 29 Those that were numbered of them, even the tribe

  of Issachar, were 50 and 4430 of the children of Zebulun, by
• 6:16
  their generations after their families, by the House of their
• 6:19
  fathers, according to the number of the names from 20 years old
• 6:23
  and upward, all that were able to go forth to war. 31 Those
• 6:29
  that were numbered of them even of the tribe of Zebulun, were
• 6:32
  57,432 Of the children of Joseph, namely of the children
• 6:39
  of Ephraim, by their generations after their families, by the
• 6:42
  House of their fathers, according to the number of the
• 6:46
  names from 20 years old and upward, all that were able to go
• 6:49
  forth to war. 33 Those that were numbered of them, even of the
• 6:53
  tribe of Ephraim, were 40,500. 34 of the children of Vanessa,

  Benjamin, were 35,438. Of the children of Dan by their

  Those that were numbered even of them of the tribe of Dam were
• 7:53
  three score 2740. Of the children of Asher, by

  their generations after their families by the House of their

  fathers, according to the number of the names from 20 years old
• 8:04
  and upward, all that were able to go forth to war 41.

  And those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of
• 8:10
  Asher, were 41,500. 42 Of the children of Neftali, throughout
• 8:17
  their generations, after their families by the House of their
• 8:19
  fathers, according to the number of the names from 20 years old
• 8:23
  and upward, all that were able to go forth to war. 43 Those
• 8:28
  that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Neftali, were
• 8:31
  53,444. These are those that were
• 8:37
  numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the Princess of
• 8:42
  Israel being 12 men, each one was for the House of their of
• 8:47
  his father's. So here you can see that in
• 8:50
  Egypt they were just slaves. And now God has taken them, and
• 8:55
  he's put them in a place where he can organize them and put
• 9:00
  everybody back in their rightful tribe that was connected to
• 9:07
  Jacob and the promises of God to Abraham when he had no one
• 9:11
  greater to swear by than himself.
• 9:13
  And the fire passed through the cut pieces, and he made a
• 9:17
  covenant with Abraham. And here God wants them to know
• 9:21
  their worth and know their genealogy and know their line
• 9:27
  that they came from. And so many of us are going by
• 9:30
  the wayside because we do not understand the lineage that we
• 9:35
  have that traces all the way back to royalty, friends.
• 9:40
  It traces all the way back to being gods.
• 9:45
  We are sons and daughters of the Most High God.
• 9:48
  And they needed to know that friends.
• 9:51
  And this was a good way of God to remind them of who they were
• 9:55
  and who they belong to. They belong to Yahweh
• 9:59
  everlasting, the covenant God. And when we take our eyes off of
• 10:03
  that that reality, that's when we slip friends.
• 10:06
  When we become autonomous and think that we are our own gods,
• 10:09
  that is when we slip friends. We need to know that we are
• 10:13
  marked by him and that we are his friends. 45 So we're all the
• 10:25
  those that were numbered of the children of Israel by the House

  over 3 million people. Friends look at how God put in

  million people because you can see here just the fighting force

  alone was 600,000. This was Israelites.

  Friends, this is not even the mixed multitude, this is not the
• 11:10
  women and the children, this is just the fighting man. 47 But

  the Levites after the tribe of the fathers were not numbered
• 11:20
  among them. 48 For the Lord had spoken unto Moses, saying, 49

  Only you shall not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the
• 11:29
  sum of them from among the children of Israel.
• 11:32
  So they were to be held back in the temple to pray to a holy
• 11:36
  God, friends, and to make sure that the manifest presence, the
• 11:40
  Shekinah glory of God, that the fire on the altar never went out
• 11:45
  and stays lit, Friends, 50 But you shall appoint the Levites
• 11:49
  over the Tabernacle of the testimony, and over the vessels
• 11:53
  thereof, and over the things that belong to it, and they
• 11:55
  shall bear the Tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof, and
• 11:59
  shall minister unto it, and shall encamp around the
• 12:02
  Tabernacle. So they were to keep God's house
• 12:05
  holy, to make sure that no profane thing came into it.
• 12:10
  This was not to be taken lightly. 51 And when the
• 12:14
  Tabernacle sets forward, the Levites shall take it down.
• 12:18
  And when the Tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set
• 12:21
  it up, and the stranger that comes near shall be put to
• 12:25
  death. They are not to treat it lightly
• 12:28
  that this holiest of holy places, the manifest presence of
• 12:32
  God dwelled. And they and God wanted them to
• 12:36
  know that they were not to just allow just any old person to
• 12:41
  come around. They were to keep it holy and
• 12:45
  keep it set apart and to consecrate it.
• 12:48
  And that was the main job. And they had the job of taking
• 12:50
  everything up and setting it up and then taking everything down,
• 12:54
  friends and moving it. When God's pillar moved, they
• 12:58
  moved. And when, when the fire moved,
• 12:59
  they moved, friends, and that fire and that pillar of cloud,
• 13:03
  it would have provided the much needed shade in the wilderness,
• 13:07
  and it would have provided the much needed warmth at night.
• 13:09
  Friends, what an amazing God. 52 And the children of Israel shall
• 13:15
  pitch their tents, every man by his own camp and every man by
• 13:19
  his own standard throughout their host. 53 But the Levites
• 13:22
  shall pitch round and about the Tabernacle of testimony, and
• 13:27
  there shall be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of
• 13:30
  Israel, and the Levites shall keep the charge of the
• 13:34
  Tabernacle of testimony. We'll end on 54 And the children
• 13:37
  of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses.
• 13:41
  So they did. So you need to know that these
• 13:45
  camps, if you, as we continue to read, you're going to see this
• 13:50
  topical overview of how God wanted them to camp around the
• 13:56
  Tabernacle. And it would have created from
• 14:00
  an aerial view across. He was showing them all the way
• 14:04
  back here that when they camped on the north and some camped on
• 14:09
  the South, some camped on the east, and some camped on the
• 14:13
  West, it created this type and shadow of what was to come with
• 14:18
  Jesus Christ. It all points to Jesus Christ.

  Friends, from Genesis all the way to Malachi is a neon sign
• 14:28
  pointing to the gospels. And then you find from the book
• 14:34
  of Acts all the way to Revelation is a neon sign
• 14:38
  pointing back to the four gospels.
• 14:41
  This is all showing us our need for the Lord Jesus Christ who is
• 14:47
  preeminent. He was the first born from the
• 14:49
  dead resurrection power that lives inside of us.
• 14:53
  He was the first to experience what an amazing God we serve.
• 14:57
  What an amazing time we live in. I hope you've been blessed by
