Exodus 23
Exodus 23 read aloud, in a fresh direct translation from the Hebrew — plain modern English, nothing added.
Translator's notes:
• Exodus 23:5 — עזב תעזב עמו (azov ta'azov immo): chose “you shall surely help him lift it up”. Alternatives: “you shall surely unload it with him”, “you shall surely leave it with him”. Why: azov normally means “leave”, but the context of an animal down under its load calls for helping.
