- 0:00Speaker 1: On 710 wor mr new york mark simone well hey
- 0:09Speaker 1: we got a lot to get to this hour don't
- 0:11Speaker 1: forget it's three hours every day nine to noon start
- 0:14Speaker 1: at nine o'clock now nine to noon every day so
- 0:16Speaker 1: you got the riots the protests were france it's normally
- 0:21Speaker 1: not that big a deal it's uh like the national
- 0:24Speaker 1: pastime of france boycotting picketing uh work stoppage, riots. They
- 0:30Speaker 1: do this every year in France. It always happens. But
- 0:33Speaker 1: this looks a little worse than the usual ones. This
- 0:37Speaker 1: seems a little bigger. 6,100 people have been arrested. They've
- 0:41Speaker 1: had tear gas everywhere. This one seems 715 police officers
- 0:47Speaker 1: have been injured. Well, it turns out that there's a
- 0:52Speaker 1: reason for that. It turns out this is not just
- 0:54Speaker 1: the normal French with their work strikes, with their boycotts,
- 1:00Speaker 1: with their protests over something. This is a combination of forces.
- 1:05Speaker 1: It's the regular French and the protests and all that.
- 1:08Speaker 1: But this group has been infiltrated with radical Islamic people.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Radical Islamic groups have infiltrated the protest, kicked them up
- 1:18Speaker 1: a few notches. That's why it's more violent. That's why
- 1:20Speaker 1: it's getting uglier. And as President Trump pointed out, all this... uh, illegal, uh,
- 1:26Speaker 1: immigration into France, not just France, but much of Europe.
- 1:29Speaker 1: But these migrants that have come in, all these illegals, uh,
- 1:33Speaker 1: are fueling this. I mean, like throwing gas on the fire.
- 1:37Speaker 1: So the normal French riots and strikes and all that, uh, much,
- 1:41Speaker 1: much worse. And I don't know where this is going
- 1:44Speaker 1: to end. Uh, I don't know. This is going to escalate.
- 1:47Speaker 1: This is going to get, uh, pretty bad, uh, before
- 1:50Speaker 1: it's over. So, um, You know, we don't have pennies anymore.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I mean, you may have some, but the government officially
- 1:58Speaker 1: ended the penny. They don't make pennies anymore. And they
- 2:02Speaker 1: say that whatever pennies are out there, you could still
- 2:05Speaker 1: use them, but there's no more pennies. Now, they act
- 2:07Speaker 1: like the penny's going to go away eventually. How does
- 2:10Speaker 1: that happen? I mean, I don't have any pennies here,
- 2:14Speaker 1: but a penny's pretty well made. I mean, it's not
- 2:16Speaker 1: going to crumble. They'll always be there. Those of you
- 2:20Speaker 1: that have been saving pennies in a jar... I don't
- 2:22Speaker 1: know what the hell you're going to do with them.
- 2:24Speaker 1: But listen to this. Congress now wants to get rid
- 2:27Speaker 1: of the nickel. I guess this is inflation. The penny
- 2:33Speaker 1: is worthless now. They say there's no reason to have
- 2:35Speaker 1: nickels anymore. What would anybody use a nickel for? I
- 2:40Speaker 1: don't know. Sometimes you go in the supermarket or someplace
- 2:43Speaker 1: and you're in line behind somebody who still wants to
- 2:45Speaker 1: use cash. It's a very silly thing to watch. Who
- 2:50Speaker 1: uses cash anymore? You pay with your phone, you pay
- 2:54Speaker 1: with your credit card. Who uses cash anymore? You can
- 2:57Speaker 1: pay with your Apple Watch. But they sit there and
- 3:01Speaker 1: take out cash, and then the cashier has to count
- 3:06Speaker 1: out dollars and quarters and nickels. I guess that's where
- 3:11Speaker 1: you use a penny now and then. It's kind of silly.
- 3:14Speaker 1: But they're going to get rid of the nickel. You'll
- 3:17Speaker 1: know it's really bad when the quarter disappears. I don't
- 3:21Speaker 1: know what you know. The only problem with paying digitally,
- 3:25Speaker 1: when you're in Rome and you want to throw the
- 3:28Speaker 1: coin in the fountain for good luck, what are you
- 3:30Speaker 1: going to do? What are you going to do? You're
- 3:33Speaker 1: going to throw your phone in there and then go
- 3:35Speaker 1: get it out? It's not the same. You know that
- 3:37Speaker 1: Skydance is officially now, the whole merger is complete, official.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It's done. That's it. Skydance, Paramount, CBS, they now own Warner, Discovery.
- 3:51Speaker 1: That'll include HBO. That includes CNN. So it's funny, the
- 3:55Speaker 1: uproar about CNN. They're so concerned. Oh, I hope they
- 3:58Speaker 1: don't tamper with CNN. You know, CNN is in last place.
- 4:02Speaker 1: It's a total disaster. Fox News celebrating their 30th anniversary today.
- 4:08Speaker 1: The number one cable news channel by far. By far.
- 4:14Speaker 1: If you add MS Now and CNN together, not even
- 4:18Speaker 1: half of the viewers that Fox has. Fox is way
- 4:22Speaker 1: out in front. MS Now, not doing so well. It's
- 4:25Speaker 1: in second place, but way behind. Way behind. And NBC
- 4:30Speaker 1: threw it out. It used to be part of NBC.
- 4:32Speaker 1: They threw it out of the company. They threw it
- 4:34Speaker 1: out of the building. They demanded that their name come
- 4:37Speaker 1: off it. There's MS Now. And then way behind them
- 4:41Speaker 1: is CNN with a couple hundred thousand viewers. It's absolutely
- 4:45Speaker 1: a failure. It still has Anderson Cooper and Names you
- 4:51Speaker 1: would know, Wolf Blitzer, but very few viewers. So I
- 4:55Speaker 1: don't know why. I mean, if a normal company bought that,
- 4:59Speaker 1: bought a bunch of stuff, and one of them was CNN,
- 5:01Speaker 1: they'd change it into something else. Something else. You make
- 5:06Speaker 1: it a gardening channel. Make it Real Housewives. Make it
- 5:10Speaker 1: old TV shows. Make it a Law & Order channel.
- 5:12Speaker 1: You'd do much better. Much better. But they had a
- 5:18Speaker 1: town hall yesterday. with the new chairman, David Ellison. He's
- 5:22Speaker 1: the chairman of Skydance, the worst name in the world, Skydance.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And Anderson Cooper was doing the questioning. Boy, and Anderson
- 5:31Speaker 1: Cooper spoke right up, demanding to know, are you going
- 5:35Speaker 1: to tamper with CNN? And Ellison said, as it relates
- 5:43Speaker 1: to editorial, we believe in complete and total editorial independence. And, boy,
- 5:51Speaker 1: Anderson Cooper went right after him. Ellison said, we trust
- 5:54Speaker 1: Mark Thompson. He's running CNN. And he'll continue to lead
- 5:58Speaker 1: the network. So Cooper said, you're pledging to not interfere
- 6:01Speaker 1: with the news coverage? Correct, Ellison said. Correct. I will
- 6:07Speaker 1: not interfere. Now, I guess that reassured everybody. But they
- 6:16Speaker 1: also announced there's going to be massive layoffs. Now, CNN, again,
- 6:22Speaker 1: has the tiniest ratings. They're not doing well. They don't
- 6:25Speaker 1: make any money. There's going to be massive layoffs. So
- 6:31Speaker 1: they will not interfere with editorial. They'll just lay off
- 6:35Speaker 1: whoever they don't like. There's a lot of waste and
- 6:38Speaker 1: fraud at these networks. If you're a big, successful network
- 6:42Speaker 1: and the ratings are booming, you can afford it. But
- 6:46Speaker 1: even a place like Fox, even a place like Fox,
- 6:48Speaker 1: which is doing very well, it's extremely popular. Not a
- 6:52Speaker 1: lot of layoffs, but they do cut back, you know,
- 6:54Speaker 1: year to year to year to year. It's different every year.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You know, you used to go in the green room.
- 6:59Speaker 1: There was a buffet. It was an incredible feast. You
- 7:03Speaker 1: go to the buffet now, it's bananas and apples and
- 7:08Speaker 1: stuff like that. It's not the most elaborate expensive, but
- 7:11Speaker 1: all the networks are doing that. That's normal. But it's CNN.
- 7:15Speaker 1: You're going to see real, real layoffs. You're going to
- 7:18Speaker 1: see some cost cutting over there. And they deserve it.
- 7:23Speaker 1: They absolutely deserve it. They get no ratings. Now remember,
- 7:26Speaker 1: this is a big conglomerate they have purchased. Warner Brothers, Discovery.
- 7:31Speaker 1: It owns a lot of stuff. Discovery, HBO, all this
- 7:34Speaker 1: HBO Max. CNN is a little tiny thing of it.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So you can leave it alone for a while. And
- 7:41Speaker 1: who was it on the show this week? Was it
- 7:45Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly? Somebody. Jimmy Fallon. Somebody said, just leave it
- 7:49Speaker 1: the way it is. It's getting no ratings. It's dwindling
- 7:51Speaker 1: every second. Let it just die in the vine. Let
- 7:55Speaker 1: it just die of its own accord. Hey, a terrible
- 7:58Speaker 1: anniversary today, October 7th. Terrible, terrible thing. The worst, most
- 8:04Speaker 1: ugly terrorist Holocaust attack by Hamas on behalf of the
- 8:08Speaker 1: Palestinians against Israel. It... it's just so horrifying. You know,
- 8:14Speaker 1: you've probably, I'm sure you've never seen what really happened.
- 8:18Speaker 1: The really, really ugly footage, the killing of babies, their
- 8:22Speaker 1: throats being cut, the raping of women. These Hamas terrorists
- 8:27Speaker 1: were wearing GoPro cameras. They filmed the whole thing. They
- 8:30Speaker 1: videoed the whole thing. And some of that's been put
- 8:34Speaker 1: together in a 47 minute documentary. Uh, the Israeli, uh,
- 8:42Speaker 1: Ambassador has invited Mamdani, crazy anti-Semitic Mayor Mamdani, to come
- 8:48Speaker 1: watch it. It's 47 minutes long. He said, Mamdani, if
- 8:54Speaker 1: you watch this, I think you'll understand. I think you'll
- 8:57Speaker 1: truly understand why the Jewish state is so important. Now,
- 9:01Speaker 1: this ambassador, being very, very naive, he's not going to
- 9:06Speaker 1: understand anything. He's going to feel this is the way
- 9:09Speaker 1: they are. They're just indoctrinated. This anti-Semitism is burned into people.
- 9:14Speaker 1: They'll just think it was justified. It was justified by
- 9:16Speaker 1: what happened. But he won't watch it. But Mamdani tonight
- 9:21Speaker 1: will go to a vigil to mourn those killed in
- 9:24Speaker 1: that attack. He's leaving that and actually going to a
- 9:27Speaker 1: Palestinian event. He always looks like he's doing the right thing.
- 9:32Speaker 1: And then the next act makes it clear he's not. Hey,
- 9:35Speaker 1: that Carl Heastie, he runs the state assembly. He's the
- 9:39Speaker 1: state assembly speaker. You got the assembly, big part of
- 9:43Speaker 1: the legislature. It's this Carl Heastie who's really, that legislature
- 9:47Speaker 1: in Albany is the worst. The worst with their taxes,
- 9:51Speaker 1: with their no bail, no jail, with their crazy left-wing
- 9:54Speaker 1: kooky stuff. Carl Heastie, the leader. You know, he's been
- 9:58Speaker 1: spotted on this fair. expensive trip to Rio. He's in
- 10:03Speaker 1: Brazil and who's there with him? Well, this lobbyist, it's
- 10:07Speaker 1: a low level lobbyist that has risen up because he's
- 10:11Speaker 1: friends with Carl Heastie for a million years. Now who
- 10:14Speaker 1: paid for this very expensive Rio de Janeiro vacation? They
- 10:19Speaker 1: won't say. The lobbyist won't say. Hastie won't say. But
- 10:23Speaker 1: this guy was his roommate at college. And since Hastie
- 10:32Speaker 1: has become the Speaker of the Assembly, all of a
- 10:34Speaker 1: sudden this low-level lobbyist is suddenly making a fortune. He
- 10:38Speaker 1: made $ 5 million last year. So who paid for this
- 10:41Speaker 1: elaborate vacation that Hastie's on? Hastie won't say. And the
- 10:46Speaker 1: lobbyist won't say. Hey, now, you know, you act like
- 10:51Speaker 1: Mamdani's doing nothing, accomplishing nothing. Well, look at this. He's
- 10:55Speaker 1: entering into two contracts totaling $ 9 million to provide gender-affirming
- 11:04Speaker 1: sex reassignment care to transgender patients under the age of 18. Kids, teenagers.
- 11:13Speaker 1: The move backs a policy... that the Federal Department of
- 11:17Speaker 1: Justice has challenged as medically dangerous and illegal. Of course
- 11:21Speaker 1: it is. And it's ridiculous to do that to kids.
- 11:24Speaker 1: But Mamdani is taking money out of our paychecks and
- 11:29Speaker 1: doing this. Sebastian Maniscalco. We love Sebastian Maniscalco. He's been
- 11:34Speaker 1: on the show many times. Probably the biggest comedian in
- 11:38Speaker 1: America right now. But a lot of comedians are mad
- 11:43Speaker 1: at him, really mad at him. He's taking a lot
- 11:45Speaker 1: of heat right now. Over there at Sirius XM, they've
- 11:50Speaker 1: been redoing things. They got rid of the Howard Stern
- 11:53Speaker 1: 101 channel. They took one of Stern's channels away. They
- 11:57Speaker 1: created an Andy Cohen channel. And, you know, they had
- 12:00Speaker 1: a couple of comedy channels. And one of them was,
- 12:04Speaker 1: I forget what it was called, the comedy channel, raw comedy.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It was raw comedy. Well, they got rid of that,
- 12:10Speaker 1: and they've handed it over to Sebastian Maniscalco. There's going
- 12:14Speaker 1: to be a Sebastian Maniscalco comedy radio 24-7 channel. Makes sense.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Guy's the biggest comedian in America. Makes perfect sense to
- 12:24Speaker 1: give him a channel. Ooh, but all the comedians are
- 12:27Speaker 1: mad at him. These comedians, Liz Mealy and Greg Stone
- 12:31Speaker 1: and others, they're all signing petitions. They are all demanding
- 12:36Speaker 1: that Sebastian, you know, because a lot of these... Comedians
- 12:40Speaker 1: got exposure on the old channel and they're furious, furious.
- 12:46Speaker 1: They got petitions. They're calling on Maniscalco to reverse course,
- 12:50Speaker 1: arguing the revamped channel will sharply concentrate airplay only to
- 12:56Speaker 1: the best known comedians and not the newer. Now, this
- 12:58Speaker 1: is interesting. What will Sebastian Maniscalco do? He's a really
- 13:04Speaker 1: nice guy. He's a very nice guy. He's a very
- 13:06Speaker 1: diplomatic guy. He's a very image-conscious guy. Who knows? Will
- 13:11Speaker 1: he reverse things? Will he alter the channel to make sure?
- 13:15Speaker 1: It's easy to do if you're going to feature all
- 13:17Speaker 1: the best-known comedians, which is the smart thing to do
- 13:21Speaker 1: for this channel. Obviously, that's what people want to hear,
- 13:23Speaker 1: and that's what you should do. You put in a
- 13:25Speaker 1: couple of hours of the day where it's all new,
- 13:28Speaker 1: unknown comedians. That's what you do. Watch. This is what
- 13:31Speaker 1: he'll do. If I can come up with this, he'll
- 13:33Speaker 1: come up with this, and that's what you're going to
- 13:36Speaker 1: see at some point. So... Hey, 60 Minutes, remember, they
- 13:41Speaker 1: love picking on 60 Minutes because it's Barry Weiss running
- 13:44Speaker 1: things now. You know, the left, the fake news goes
- 13:46Speaker 1: after her as if she's some Trumpster. She's a Democrat.
- 13:51Speaker 1: She's a liberal Democrat, always has been. She comes from
- 13:54Speaker 1: the New York Times. She's not a conservative, but they
- 13:57Speaker 1: hate her because she was, ooh, she tampered with 60 Minutes.
- 13:59Speaker 1: But this past week, 60 Minutes got the biggest ratings
- 14:03Speaker 1: of the season, 10.2 million, 10.2 million. That's even bigger
- 14:10Speaker 1: than last season at this point, so that's pretty good. Hey,
- 14:12Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number. And
- 14:19Speaker 1: if you're a new caller, because we always love hearing
- 14:21Speaker 1: from new callers, 800-321-0710.
