Transcript
- 0:03Happy Sunday morning, everybody. Kenny Schrader at 69 years old,
- 0:1269, he won it. Duck River last night down here
- 0:17in Tennessee somewhere. Congratulations to Kenny
- 0:21Schrader. Put it on the high side.
- 0:23He was riding high, not afraid to die.
- 0:26Can he do it? Jack Hewitt?
- 0:31Damn, Wallace. What's in that coffee this
- 0:33morning? Just normal, normal coffee,
- 0:39everybody. I'm jacked up on life.
- 0:41All right, Congratulations, Kenny Schrader, win #14 on the
- 0:45year. At 69 years old, Schrader's
- 0:48tired of me talking about age, so we'll talk about that on Herm
- 0:52and Schrader, he would say, you keep talking about age.
- 0:58And the other thing that I piss him off about is you keep
- 1:01telling everybody you do everything yourself.
- 1:04I'm like, oh, these things bother you, do they, Schrader?
- 1:09I'll do them more than. All right.
- 1:12Congratulations, Kenny, on the big win.
- 1:14Riding high down there, Duck River down there in Tennessee.
- 1:19All right, Dale Earnhardt Junior, 50 cars, 5050 Junior
- 1:28cannot get qualified. They give him a provisional and
- 1:34here he comes. So listen, I have no idea what
- 1:38happened in qualifying. All I can say is we see it day
- 1:42in and day out. Happens in dirt racing all the
- 1:44time. They do it in the World of
- 1:46Outlaw light models. They do it in Lucas Oil Light
- 1:50models in a good racer can't get qualified.
- 1:55He has a provisional and he wins the race.
- 1:58Sometimes it's hard to get qualified.
- 2:00You see it happen in all sports all the time.
- 2:04All right, let's go from there. I have addressed Dale Junior
- 2:06getting the provisional starting 40th.
- 2:11Yeah, that's right. A short track race.
- 2:13I'm going to repeat myself. Dale Junior starting 40th.
- 2:18Are you kidding me? 40th in Florence, SC at Florence
- 2:24Speedway. If you don't think Dale Junior
- 2:30is popular, think again. I watched every lap of that race
- 2:35last night. Yes, even while it was
- 2:37buffering. Hey listen everybody, you're
- 2:40paying 150 bucks a year for 1000 races.
- 2:45Every once in a while they going buffer.
- 2:47And let me tell you why that Flow Racing was buffering last
- 2:50night. Because record.
- 2:53Record ratings. I mean, everybody was logged on,
- 2:56going to watch Dale Junior and Buddy, he did not disappoint.
- 3:00Dale Junior puts on a show, starts 40th and methodically
- 3:07starts working his way to the front.
- 3:10OK, hold that for a minute. We're going to get back to the
- 3:13race. I want to talk about the Dale
- 3:15Junior effect. Little Birdie tells me they have
- 3:20sold $1,000,000 it it's souvenirs and I believe it and
- 3:27here's why. I think just about 90% of the
- 3:31crowd there that the camera on flow was, you know, from the
- 3:35back, you know, up at the grandstands, behind the
- 3:38grandstands. Looking forward, I think 90% of
- 3:41the people were wearing black, red, red #8 jackets.
- 3:47It was cold down there. Everybody was freezing.
- 3:51I think the whole world right now has got red #8 jackets.
- 3:55And by the way, that 8 is such a good style, boy, good job.
- 4:01And just watching Dale Junior get out of the car and singing
- 4:05that Budweiser, the B, the letter B, that style on the back
- 4:10of his fire suit, man, I had to wipe my eyes.
- 4:13I thought it was a time warp. I'm like, is it 19, 1990
- 4:18something all over again? Because he had that same walk,
- 4:23he had that same talk. He just kind of got the glasses.
- 4:27He had the glasses on. That was a little something
- 4:29different. But the souvenirs that were
- 4:34sold, I don't know the deal Dale Junior made with Budweiser.
- 4:39But if he said, hey, you don't got to give us any money,
- 4:43Budweiser, just let us keep a larger portion of the souvenir
- 4:48sales than normal. If he said let us keep, you
- 4:52know, a larger portion, holy moly, they are stacking the
- 4:57money up at Junior Motorsports on Monday because the souvenir
- 5:01sales were through the roof. And that, my friends, that's why
- 5:05all the dirt racers, that's why. Bobby Pierce and Nick Kaufman,
- 5:09all the big boys. Ricky Thornton.
- 5:11That's why souvenir sales is how you make money in short track
- 5:18racing. See, even though the grandstands
- 5:21were packed, I mean packed, 3500, three, 1500 people.
- 5:29Yes, I owned a racetrack. Kenny Schrader, Tony Stewart,
- 5:35myself, Bob Sergeant, we own Macon Speedway in Macon, IL.
- 5:40I mean, you couldn't squeeze one more person in that racetrack
- 5:44and we were lucky to put 3000 people in there.
- 5:48So I know we all get excited, but I'm here to de bullshit it
- 5:52before we go. Oh man, that place was packed,
- 5:55sold out. Well, it was sold out at maybe.
- 5:59OK, I'll I'll act stupid. 5000 people, 5000, but there wasn't
- 6:065000 people there. OK, let's say there was, let's
- 6:09say there was. I'll go to 5000, but I'm
- 6:11thinking 3500 to 4000 people in the grandstands.
- 6:17But here's where they made the money.
- 6:19That flow, that flow broadcast, even though it was buffered, I
- 6:22watched it all. I had no problem.
- 6:25I saw y'all on there whining and crying.
- 6:27Oh, it's buffering, it's buffering.
- 6:33You guys sounded like little babies all night long.
- 6:35You just kept going. This is buffering.
- 6:39I'm like welcome to dirt racing. Our shit buffers all the time,
- 6:42but you get still get to see the race.
- 6:45That's that's called short track racing.
- 6:47Just happy there's a camera there.
- 6:49Everybody. It's $150.00 a year.
- 6:53It's $150.00 a year. You spend that at the grocery
- 6:56store buying milk and eggs. All right, I think I'd be
- 7:00bullshitted that told you where they made the money, told you
- 7:05all that Dale Junior, congratulations today to Chase
- 7:13Elliott. I know I'm going to I'm going to
- 7:14make a 180 here now. Following.
- 7:16I'm going to make a 180. All right, congratulations to
- 7:21Chase Elliott on NASCAR most popular driver.
- 7:26However, you know where I'm going on this one if last night
- 7:31don't tell you how popular Dale Earnhardt Junior is.
- 7:37I mean, Dale Junior runs one Xfinity race a year.
- 7:43He ran it at Bristol, ran 5th. Yep, Dale Junior ran fifth this
- 7:51year in the Xfinity race at Bristol Hall Vass.
- 7:56He is the most popular driver in NASCAR right now in heart and
- 8:00don't even race. I said it respond right here.
- 8:04I I said what I said and I mean it because he's got dirty MO
- 8:09media. Dale junior download runs one
- 8:11race did that Dale Earnhardt junior is still your most
- 8:16popular driver and he don't even race and the reason he's your
- 8:20most popular driver is because he's all he's going to.
- 8:23Did you just see it? He's going to be back on TV next
- 8:26year. He's got dirty MO Media.
- 8:28He runs one NASCAR race here. He is your most popular driver.
- 8:33If they put Dale Junior, if they put him on the ballot, if they
- 8:37put Dale Junior on the ballot right now, he would be the most
- 8:40popular driver. Hey, Louise, Louie wanting a
- 8:48little bit of the coffee with Kenny Action.
- 8:50I know. I see you, buddy.
- 8:54Their legend is all right. Let's talk about that race for a
- 8:57minute. Amy Earnhardt.
- 9:02We're going to start with Amy. Amy said her last time out on
- 9:06the Dale Junior download, she let a little secret out.
- 9:10She said Dale Junior's been working on his way and he looks
- 9:13good. I think Dale Junior wants to go
- 9:17racing. I think he wants to do a little
- 9:19more racing than what he's given up.
- 9:22And I think I think Amy's like Junior because, you know, till
- 9:27Junior had those concussions and they keep an eye on Junior.
- 9:31But I think he's getting ready to go.
- 9:33I think he's getting frisky. He lost some weight.
- 9:35He looks good. He's in, he's in fighter weight.
- 9:38He's ready to go racing. He took that race car last night
- 9:42and showed how smart he is. Started 40th and most likely
- 9:47you're going to wreck getting to the front at those type of
- 9:50races. And boy did they.
- 9:51They wrecked their ass off. But he just kept, he started on
- 9:57the outside harder to make things happen, went to the
- 10:00bottom and started slicing and dicing.
- 10:02And I'm going to tell you what that crowd roared when everybody
- 10:06realized, holy crap, this is a cinder.
- 10:09It's a Cinderella story. It's too good to be true.
- 10:14Dale Junior gets to second with 33 laps to go. 250 lap race,
- 10:20Florence, SC, Florence Speedway and the damn fuel pump went out.
- 10:28The fuel pump went out. But I'm going to tell you what,
- 10:30everybody, last night was unbelievable.
- 10:34Dale Earnhardt, Junior, signs of the past.
- 10:37I called Junior and he answered the phone.
- 10:40I said junior. I said, I just want to say this,
- 10:44there's no that place going to be standing room only.
- 10:46I said everybody's going to be watching because everybody wants
- 10:51to feel good, buddy. I said, just remember, no matter
- 10:54what happens, everybody's going to be there because they want to
- 10:57feel good. They want they want those old
- 10:59days back. And he said, Herman, thanks for
- 11:04talking like that. That makes me feel good.
- 11:07That's what Junior said to me. He's very nice to me.
- 11:12So I'm going to end like that. That's what last night was all
- 11:15about. It was a feel good story.
- 11:19And if anybody is out there to demolish a feel good story,
- 11:23shame on you. That was a hell of a story last
- 11:27night. Hell of a run.
- 11:29All right, everybody, happy Sunday.
- 11:31I came outside because they say this is the last warm day of the
- 11:35year. They say the rest of the week
- 11:37here in Saint Louis only going to be high of 35.
- 11:40So I said I'm going outside. All right, the Dome.
- 11:46I'm going to run downtown Saint Louis inside the Dome.
- 11:49We're going to be racing December 4th, 5th and 6th.
- 11:53My race car is ready to go. She's up there to shop.
- 11:55We race ready. All right, till the next coffee
- 11:59with Kenny.
