- 2:42Speaker 2: Today is National Library Workers to Day, and I want
- 2:47Speaker 2: to take a couple of minutes to say thank you
- 2:52Speaker 2: for all those who kind of paid the way for me. Okay,
- 2:59Speaker 2: those that told told me that, oh girl, you can
- 3:02Speaker 2: do this. Don't worry about it because the fact that
- 3:04Speaker 2: you can't find a book on the show My journey
- 3:10Speaker 2: of working in the public library here in South Carolina.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It has been a journey, okay, And I wouldn't change
- 3:22Speaker 1: any of it for the world. I love it.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I started out as a library circulation and that's checking
- 3:32Speaker 2: in and out of book answering questions and stuff like that.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And then I was promoted to children's services. I couldn't
- 3:42Speaker 2: deal with the storytimes, you guys. I love children's book,
- 3:45Speaker 2: but I couldn't deal with the storytime all it is
- 3:47Speaker 2: busy spot that was not in my thing, okay. And
- 3:52Speaker 2: then hold on, so about three years and I was promote.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I was promoted to children's services. Six months after that,
- 4:06Speaker 2: I was promoted to young adult services. And that's why
- 4:09Speaker 2: I found my love. I love working with teens, the
- 4:15Speaker 2: fifty million person that'm okay, let me let me go back.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I love dealing.
- 4:21Speaker 1: With the teens of that time.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Okay, the ones this time, we gotta we'll talk about that, lad, Okay.
- 4:30Speaker 2: But I started working at teen services, and I was
- 4:37Speaker 2: transferred to the library where I work at.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Now, and in this May, I would have been working
- 4:46Speaker 1: at that branch.
- 4:49Speaker 2: For thirteen years and for the entire system for twenty years.
- 4:55Speaker 2: So that brings me to where I am now. I
- 4:59Speaker 2: work an adults service system, calling adults specialists. The only
- 5:02Speaker 2: difference between me and a library and you guys is
- 5:05Speaker 2: they got a degree. I don't. I happy to call
- 5:08Speaker 2: u's the service, okay. And I am proud to say
- 5:12Speaker 2: that I can run circles around librarians. Hey, but I
- 5:17Speaker 2: want to thank them. I'm gonna say a couple of names.
- 5:22Speaker 2: We have Mister g who's a branch manager, Mister Ray
- 5:27Speaker 2: who's a branch manager. Miss Chen and her husband love
- 5:31Speaker 2: you guys. Kim Oldham, Oh my god, Kim, I love
- 5:36Speaker 2: you girl.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Then we have all.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Of the libraries that I work with. Now I work
- 5:43Speaker 2: with a family, like we are truly a family. We
- 5:46Speaker 2: even know about each other's kids. Okay, we don't have anything.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And the person who I would honor the most, who's
- 5:53Speaker 2: always looking down on me, Cynthia, love you, Sin. I
- 5:57Speaker 2: know you're proud of what you see, but you playing
- 6:00Speaker 2: at those seeds. So here I am now so happy
- 6:04Speaker 2: library in this day to me, very much happy. But
- 6:09Speaker 2: now let's get in to tonight. I feel honored you guys,
- 6:16Speaker 2: because y'all know this has to be close to home, right,
- 6:20Speaker 2: So in all the National Poetry Month, we have a.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Man in the house, y'all.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Well, he was in the house to kind of draw.
- 6:31Speaker 2: We're gonna get he come back. We got him man
- 6:34Speaker 2: in the house. Okay. One of his books and y'all
- 6:38Speaker 2: know me, y'all know this right up. My alley is
- 6:41Speaker 2: called adig Flight what you're talking about. And his other
- 6:46Speaker 2: book is called Carolina Bird. So you know the thing
- 6:51Speaker 2: about it is you, guys. I don't even know if
- 6:53Speaker 2: he's from here, but that's gonna be the first question
- 6:55Speaker 2: I asked you guys, look at him. Call the geech
- 7:00Speaker 2: she poet, Hey, sweetie, how are you?
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yeah, how y'all doing tonight?
- 7:06Speaker 2: I'm good? So I'm gonna ask this question.
- 7:10Speaker 4: You from South Carolina, right, I'm from Cholston, South Carolina.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Man, what's up? How you doing?
- 7:18Speaker 3: Doing good? Doing?
- 7:20Speaker 2: All right?
- 7:20Speaker 1: Well?
- 7:21Speaker 2: The reason why I asked that because I'm from South
- 7:23Speaker 2: Carolina too. I'm right here in Charleston, going to raise downtown.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Oh, I come from Western I come from West Austin.
- 7:31Speaker 2: So why don't ever see you in my library?
- 7:35Speaker 3: I don't know. Oh, I have a bunch.
- 7:38Speaker 4: I have a bunch of the library and the will
- 7:40Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lie I did. I used to to
- 7:44Speaker 4: the libry in West I should have sayen that just
- 7:46Speaker 4: brand my lady, Miss Donna Brooks, she used to work
- 7:51Speaker 4: at the library, and she talked to Miss Sni I
- 7:55Speaker 4: heard and MISSNTHI I heard. H set it up the
- 7:57Speaker 4: way I used to come in there and can speak
- 8:00Speaker 4: to the youth. But I haven't done it. I haven't
- 8:02Speaker 4: done it.
- 8:06Speaker 2: So I'm gonna let you know right now. I can't you, baby,
- 8:13Speaker 2: your volume went out, so I canna let you know
- 8:18Speaker 2: right now. That's the library I work. You can still
- 8:22Speaker 2: hear Okay, I can't say something from the sweeten.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I don't know. Can you still hear me? No?
- 8:33Speaker 2: You got you?
- 8:33Speaker 3: Good?
- 8:33Speaker 2: Now I can hear you. So I'm gonna let you know.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Now I'm still at that library, and I know mus
- 8:39Speaker 2: DNA thems Brooks with the books. So it's gonna be
- 8:44Speaker 2: cool when I have her. I tell her that you're
- 8:48Speaker 2: coming back, because I'm gonna have you come back now.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah, tell her because she used to.
- 8:53Speaker 4: So when I first started putting I gotta I got
- 8:55Speaker 4: another poetry book too, And I used to go.
- 8:58Speaker 3: In there every dad for like four to six hours.
- 9:02Speaker 4: And one day she actually she said, Tonney, what are
- 9:05Speaker 4: you doing in here?
- 9:06Speaker 3: Every day?
- 9:07Speaker 4: You come in here around saying time every day and
- 9:09Speaker 4: you had your pictures all scattered, and I said, I said,
- 9:12Speaker 4: I'm putting together a portray book. And from that day on,
- 9:15Speaker 4: she used to help me anything I had needed, anything
- 9:18Speaker 4: I used to need, the fact, whatever she would she
- 9:21Speaker 4: would help me do it.
- 9:22Speaker 3: She would help me do it.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Well.
- 9:24Speaker 2: I will make sure that I get in can because
- 9:26Speaker 2: she did retire, So I'm gonna make sure I contact
- 9:29Speaker 2: her and I'm gonna send her the link to this show.
- 9:31Speaker 4: So see, yeah, contact her because if you can, I'll
- 9:36Speaker 4: come by there. I came a long way. I got
- 9:39Speaker 4: the manager, and I came out of the magazine that
- 9:43Speaker 4: went across the world, So yeah, I ain't came a
- 9:46Speaker 4: long way from what she first wouldn't, so yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Y'all look at that. This is you, guys. So this
- 9:54Speaker 2: is the library that I work at now, and I've
- 9:57Speaker 2: been working here for, like I said, thirteen, so I
- 10:01Speaker 2: know miss books for books. So I am just honored
- 10:05Speaker 2: to have you on here. So before we go any further,
- 10:09Speaker 2: tell us a little bit about yourself.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Let's see, I'm a thirty four ye old published poet
- 10:16Speaker 4: from Choleston. I guess I got published like two much
- 10:22Speaker 4: recrified to twenty one.
- 10:24Speaker 3: So that was a big beatle for me with that.
- 10:27Speaker 4: And let's see, I go from Charleston to Los Angeles
- 10:33Speaker 4: to Texas and down to Miami for you know, open
- 10:37Speaker 4: night nineteenth performers.
- 10:39Speaker 5: So yeah, so I'm gonna ask this question, how does
- 10:47Speaker 5: bring up in Charleston with that galighich you got going on?
- 10:52Speaker 1: How do you work that into your poetry?
- 10:56Speaker 4: That's not even on purpose? So I guess it's just
- 10:58Speaker 4: what my act, uh, when I go up there and
- 11:02Speaker 4: do it. You know how I can't get repeated again,
- 11:08Speaker 4: just whether he's saying, you know, things like that.
- 11:13Speaker 3: You know, but.
- 11:16Speaker 4: It always do something to everybody different than the crowd.
- 11:19Speaker 3: You know.
- 11:19Speaker 4: What I'm saying, working them is always not even on purpose.
- 11:28Speaker 2: So if you got them. The Gollachi is like the
- 11:36Speaker 2: the native language you could say of South Carolinians and
- 11:40Speaker 2: our slave ancestors. That's how they used to talk, you know,
- 11:47Speaker 2: and we still talk down here. And it is also
- 11:51Speaker 2: a recognized language now, so it's not an accent anymore.
- 11:55Speaker 2: It's actually a language because we don't have a Geechee accent.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Were just playing giechi.
- 12:02Speaker 4: So yeah, it's actually a language actually recognize other language
- 12:07Speaker 4: and and the culture heritage they fully recognized.
- 12:13Speaker 2: And and he's so right because I have people come
- 12:16Speaker 2: from north and I talked to him, and then I
- 12:18Speaker 2: want to start talking to Kichi and it's not like
- 12:21Speaker 2: a mean too, it's just natural. The first thing he
- 12:24Speaker 2: says is we say, he was like, oh, let me
- 12:28Speaker 2: slow that down for you, and then you start talking.
- 12:31Speaker 2: So how how has it been a poet, a male poet,
- 12:40Speaker 2: especially a male poet from the.
- 12:42Speaker 1: South, How is it.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Right, I've been on this journey for a while.
- 12:50Speaker 4: So like you know how like the comedians, like the
- 12:54Speaker 4: great comedians, how they have these stories, like the gut stories,
- 12:58Speaker 4: the funny stories, and then you know you see them
- 13:00Speaker 4: now and you just astonishment. Let me tell you something,
- 13:03Speaker 4: I don't have people knock clap for me and just
- 13:06Speaker 4: straight look at me and the building. I've gotten too
- 13:12Speaker 4: drunk before going on stage, and I forgot my words.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I don't drink before I go on stage anymore. I've
- 13:20Speaker 4: performed and tripped over the cord getting.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Down off the stage and turning down the steps.
- 13:27Speaker 6: Uh So I got some funny stories I could share,
- 13:35Speaker 6: But overall it's been a it's been a good journey.
- 13:38Speaker 4: I wasn't traded for nothing, because the things that I
- 13:43Speaker 4: have learned, there's not things that I can go to school.
- 13:45Speaker 3: And learn for journalism, you know what I mean.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Like I've actually went from uh making my own merchandise
- 13:54Speaker 4: with the with the little print thing, you know, with
- 13:57Speaker 4: the press things, and now I got a website because
- 13:59Speaker 4: I don't have time to do that because I'd be
- 14:01Speaker 4: on the road doing it.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Stuff like it just goes on and all.
- 14:04Speaker 4: But it's different being the male, especially getting up and
- 14:09Speaker 4: doing like even just the erotic court here looms like
- 14:13Speaker 4: I always get it.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Can we get some more? Can we?
- 14:16Speaker 4: You know, I'm on a time limit, so I can't
- 14:18Speaker 4: take out the rest of the stage. But that entice
- 14:20Speaker 4: people to.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Buy the book. But I get off stay it not,
- 14:23Speaker 3: they won't buy it. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, that.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Is true now because if if you do it right,
- 14:30Speaker 2: we will be sitting up there behind your book. So
- 14:32Speaker 2: let's talk about your book. Which one, if you had
- 14:36Speaker 2: to choose one of them, you would recommend me to read?
- 14:42Speaker 2: Which book would it be?
- 14:43Speaker 3: In life?
- 14:50Speaker 4: Oh no, I'm laughing because you probably know what I'm
- 14:53Speaker 4: about to say.
- 14:54Speaker 3: But let's the erotic book for sure.
- 14:56Speaker 4: And the reason why I say the erotic book is
- 14:59Speaker 4: because I've had people, even my managers.
- 15:04Speaker 3: He reading that.
- 15:04Speaker 4: He was like me, think of sit them things that
- 15:07Speaker 4: you think And it's only it's only like fifty pages,
- 15:11Speaker 4: so it's not an expensive book.
- 15:12Speaker 3: You know.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I got some good poems in there, but I used
- 15:15Speaker 4: a lot.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Of descriptions with.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Erotic troups like mangos and pieces and things like that
- 15:23Speaker 4: to describe the female anatomy.
- 15:25Speaker 3: So yeah, it's achieving. You know they can get achieved.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you from South Carolina because for that? Okay, so
- 15:38Speaker 2: how did that come about?
- 15:43Speaker 3: That?
- 15:44Speaker 4: It was really supposed to be this book called, uh,
- 15:48Speaker 4: the Mango Cant and Have Now I do have a
- 15:51Speaker 4: poem title the Mango cant and Have Anxiety Erotics Flame,
- 15:56Speaker 4: But that was supposed to be the original name where
- 15:58Speaker 4: the Mango cantin. But I my slogan us walk onto
- 16:03Speaker 4: the lyrical flight. So when the pandemic came, I was like,
- 16:08Speaker 4: you know what, people walk onto the lyrical flight. And
- 16:11Speaker 4: everybody's second house. Females reading more than male was less than,
- 16:15Speaker 4: to be honest, a lot of females. So I'm like,
- 16:18Speaker 4: what if I make a book called rodic Flight? And
- 16:22Speaker 4: so I one of my old classroomates, you know me
- 16:25Speaker 4: and how we still keep intense.
- 16:27Speaker 3: He's actually drew the cover. He's jew the cover for
- 16:31Speaker 3: that book.
- 16:32Speaker 4: And you know, he sent it over to me and
- 16:36Speaker 4: I said, man, I said, I want you to make
- 16:38Speaker 4: it look like a sister. I said, put some locks
- 16:40Speaker 4: of sap on the head, you know head man, I said,
- 16:44Speaker 4: And uh, after I told him that that was it,
- 16:47Speaker 4: Like he got it right on the first try. It
- 16:50Speaker 4: was just I had one of them to make a Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 4: so that's how I came about.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Do you want to shout out cover?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Yeah, his name was Justice Justice. He's on Instagram, let
- 17:04Speaker 3: me see. I think it's uh Jay j M j
- 17:11Speaker 3: j M on.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Instagram and Facebook too, but the name is Justin Moltie
- 17:16Speaker 4: and he uh, he will mail, he'll mail, he the mark,
- 17:19Speaker 4: he'll mail it to you.
- 17:21Speaker 3: He'll stand it and email it to you. But yeah,
- 17:24Speaker 3: he do good work.
- 17:26Speaker 4: I got some more artwork, so I got another book
- 17:28Speaker 4: cover for him that I ain't even release it. Like
- 17:31Speaker 4: I'm just sitting on it's sitting right hand on another avelt.
- 17:35Speaker 3: I'm just.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Going man, you know, being a riders like you know,
- 17:43Speaker 4: like any kind of artist, man, you get screwed over
- 17:48Speaker 4: in a certain sense.
- 17:50Speaker 3: And like I I want my own.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Publishing label at this point, like because the amount of
- 17:58Speaker 4: money that it takes a print book and then people
- 18:01Speaker 4: keep almost all your royalty.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Man, you better almost hold another printant yourself. Now.
- 18:08Speaker 4: I see why people like Tyler Perry, you know, and
- 18:11Speaker 4: even print changing her name to a symbol. Just you
- 18:15Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, get all the money because it's like, Okay,
- 18:19Speaker 4: we're gonna let you do all the work. We're gonna
- 18:22Speaker 4: even help you get it out there, but we won't
- 18:24Speaker 4: collect all the money for your hard work. And I
- 18:27Speaker 4: got composition notebooks, ma'am. I got maybe five or six
- 18:31Speaker 4: composition notebook fuller run that I ain't even touch it.
- 18:37Speaker 4: I don't even touch it.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Well, there's a community that you can join.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'm saying you some informations called one hundred aspiring offers
- 18:46Speaker 2: to watch, and you can get people that can show
- 18:50Speaker 2: you how they self uplished down books. They can give
- 18:54Speaker 2: you information, insight. So I'm gonna send that to you
- 18:58Speaker 2: because you know, now you're from South Carolina. You dang,
- 19:00Speaker 2: you're right down the streets, so you know you get
- 19:02Speaker 2: a special pass. You get a special pass, special pass,
- 19:08Speaker 2: so appreciate it. Yeah, man, I mean, look, you're young,
- 19:14Speaker 2: you're trying to make it. Do what to do? Why
- 19:17Speaker 2: would I not help you?
- 19:20Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Enough out here for everybody, So let's go ahead and
- 19:27Speaker 2: let's all help each other, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:29Speaker 2: So come by the library, will chit chat, we will
- 19:34Speaker 2: chit chat, but let's finish this. This Carolina bird here, what's.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Behind that cover, well, Carolina Bird, you know, that's the
- 19:46Speaker 4: Carolina Run.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Which is our stir.
- 19:49Speaker 4: But that's a little bit of everything that's that's like
- 19:54Speaker 4: uh some life, you know, like a real life thing,
- 19:57Speaker 4: a little bit of uh some love and there, love
- 20:02Speaker 4: of the political, a little bit of urban. You know,
- 20:05Speaker 4: it's different things in there. But I like that one because.
- 20:13Speaker 3: That book kind of has me.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Like you can tell the difference between well, then I
- 20:19Speaker 4: went back and I read I read did that book too?
- 20:22Speaker 4: Like I went back and re edited and the inside
- 20:24Speaker 4: and took some things off, put some things in. But
- 20:26Speaker 4: you can tell the difference and that book and Erotic Flight,
- 20:30Speaker 4: Like as far as my writing or my rear play
- 20:33Speaker 4: and whatnot, you can tell the maturity between the year
- 20:36Speaker 4: because these are everything's old, but you know, it's a
- 20:40Speaker 4: certain point of my life for the while, like my
- 20:43Speaker 4: late teen is going into my early twenties. And then
- 20:46Speaker 4: you know, you know what I'm saying. So, yeah, you
- 20:49Speaker 4: can kind of tell the difference what time goes on.
- 20:52Speaker 2: I totally understand because you grow with you mature and
- 20:55Speaker 2: you grow in your poetry. Girl's going with you. I
- 20:58Speaker 2: can understand that. So let's see when it comes to
- 21:06Speaker 2: your writing style. What gets you in the mood to write?
- 21:11Speaker 2: Are you one that has to have complete silence? Do
- 21:14Speaker 2: you use music like what gets you in that mood
- 21:19Speaker 2: to make the words come on the paper?
- 21:26Speaker 4: So as a teenager, I used to talk at I
- 21:29Speaker 4: used to talk a lot, a lot, so that was
- 21:32Speaker 4: my stick, you know what I'm saying, me writing, what
- 21:35Speaker 4: is the stick for me to just you know, at
- 21:39Speaker 4: least everything because.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I ain't talk like that, which is fun, but.
- 21:42Speaker 4: It's not really that I have to have a rule
- 21:45Speaker 4: or quiet because I used to look at.
- 21:50Speaker 3: The word waters as a teenager.
- 21:53Speaker 4: When the thunderstorms come up, we gotta shut the park
- 21:55Speaker 4: down or whatever. I'm writing on NAPA right on paper.
- 22:00Speaker 4: I'm writing on uh the sep paper any the cardboy
- 22:06Speaker 4: blocks that were breaking down on the pieces of cargo,
- 22:10Speaker 4: And I'm fooling these things up and putting it in
- 22:12Speaker 4: my pocket until I can get home and I write.
- 22:15Speaker 3: It down on my notebook. Man, I don't lost so
- 22:17Speaker 3: much phones, well, you know what I'm saying, poems aside
- 22:21Speaker 3: the notes and things like that. Hey, I don't. I
- 22:24Speaker 3: probably I lost about to book. We're for poems just
- 22:28Speaker 3: and my phone and what now?
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, well I see that. I can see a
- 22:35Speaker 2: lot of poetry. They they walk around with sheeta paper.
- 22:38Speaker 2: They wrote my own notebooks. I was helping a young
- 22:41Speaker 2: lady today. She says she keep her Google Docs open
- 22:44Speaker 2: because she never knows when something's going to hit her,
- 22:46Speaker 2: and she writes it. And she says she loves Google
- 22:48Speaker 2: Docs because guess what, once you start typing this state
- 22:52Speaker 2: of state, all you gotta do is know you're using
- 22:57Speaker 2: the in the password. So I usually do this period
- 23:03Speaker 2: in time. Okay, and I didn't sing you this part,
- 23:07Speaker 2: so let's see how the period you are. If you
- 23:14Speaker 2: can have one of your points from a erotic flight
- 23:21Speaker 2: turn into a song and be sung, who would you
- 23:25Speaker 2: want the artist to be?
- 23:31Speaker 4: Mm hmmm.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Yeah, probably probably Chris Brown? Probably all right, what song?
- 23:39Speaker 3: And why?
- 23:40Speaker 2: I mean, what poem?
- 23:41Speaker 3: And why? Oh there? Kay, I have to say fanta
- 23:53Speaker 3: seeing I had to say, I've stuck between two of
- 23:58Speaker 3: thems just but our.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Was trying to kind of maybe put his voice to
- 24:03Speaker 4: the words that just now my head. That's technick reason
- 24:06Speaker 4: why I say fantasy and sweet because Chris Brown knews
- 24:09Speaker 4: how to work play but what the methody is?
- 24:13Speaker 3: Well? So I definitely have.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Okay, and let's say there was a female artist, who
- 24:25Speaker 2: would it be and why.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Saying songs or different?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Let's think about the other poem that you thought about.
- 24:35Speaker 3: What was that title? I want to tell what I'm
- 24:40Speaker 3: trying to explore.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Okay, I'm feeling like a Joe Scott with that.
- 24:47Speaker 4: Oh damn, see I said again, I want to curse
- 24:51Speaker 4: Brown because you know, I mean, I don't know.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Oh, I'm trying to think.
- 24:59Speaker 4: Yeah, so maybe maybe Joe I can see a joke
- 25:04Speaker 4: start doing doing that one.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I can't think of none of these new girls I
- 25:08Speaker 3: can sling for the way. Yeah, the word you know
- 25:15Speaker 3: what I'm saying.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I wouldn't even say her. I have this artist name.
- 25:21Speaker 1: It's on the tip of my tongue.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Oh but you don't the l l my l my.
- 25:29Speaker 3: She might say it kind of good. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 3: she might do it.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, I see you you old school. I'm sorry, y'all.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Lem is Ella is not old school, but here.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Her old school.
- 25:49Speaker 2: But hi, dis are you into old school?
- 25:57Speaker 4: I am. That's the thing about being so the thing
- 26:02Speaker 4: about being a poet. You're gonna uh kind of following
- 26:07Speaker 4: the philosophy and then all music, because you gotta go
- 26:12Speaker 4: back and study the great to be a gig and
- 26:15Speaker 4: get a part of the grid. So even like you know,
- 26:20Speaker 4: that's why I said, like Trent Michael Jackson, even man,
- 26:24Speaker 4: even like Easy e A Fresh, you know, like I
- 26:28Speaker 4: just go back and I study those people. I study
- 26:31Speaker 4: things that I work for them, and then I study
- 26:34Speaker 4: the downfall too, even like with the Roman Empire, with
- 26:37Speaker 4: Kim with Chimic nones Egypt, that's today.
- 26:40Speaker 3: I go back and I study those things.
- 26:42Speaker 4: I study how things was grand and I study what
- 26:45Speaker 4: was the downfall individual's empires record label, and you can
- 26:50Speaker 4: you can correct those things and a voice certain things
- 26:53Speaker 4: to make it better, because if you don't study the past,
- 26:57Speaker 4: you know we're going after the future.
- 27:00Speaker 2: So you study the past to avoid those situations in
- 27:03Speaker 2: your future.
- 27:03Speaker 3: If I if I can, if I can help it.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Something I feel appreciate certain things in life is just
- 27:10Speaker 4: that's just how I come to us, and it's meant
- 27:12Speaker 4: faster across certain things. But if I can avoid certain
- 27:15Speaker 4: things by knowledge, yeah, there's no there's no there's no
- 27:19Speaker 4: exception for angerance to the law, if you know what
- 27:21Speaker 4: I'm saying. That's just life as real, there's no certain things.
- 27:26Speaker 4: That's your fault if you didn't. You know, we ain't
- 27:28Speaker 4: trying to figure it out and ask questions. If even
- 27:31Speaker 4: the genius got questions, I would I always ask questions.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, see I love that. I love that. So
- 27:40Speaker 2: I understand that you've got some things coming up. How
- 27:43Speaker 2: would you tell us what's going on?
- 27:46Speaker 4: So I'm let's see, I'm just hanging out right now,
- 27:49Speaker 4: right right now. In June, I'm going to Los Angeles,
- 27:54Speaker 4: California for BT Awards weekend. My manager, the magazine that
