- 0:00Speaker 1: So so you went to uh Disneyland. Yes, you left a
- 0:05Speaker 1: little early on Friday, got there with no problems.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Oh no, no, see I got the TSA pre check touchless.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Uh huh. I'm not kidding when I say using that
- 0:17Speaker 2: I went through security. You just look in the camera
- 0:21Speaker 2: and yeah, here it was probably three minutes. And at
- 0:24Speaker 2: John Wayne Airport it was probably a minute and a half. Wow, seriously,
- 0:29Speaker 2: we were just through so quickly. Nice. Hey, you sit down,
- 0:32Speaker 2: you get a glass of wine, wait for the plane.
- 0:35Speaker 2: But uh, yeah, it was. It was a pretty good time.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Weather was good. A lot of the spring Breakers there,
- 0:42Speaker 2: lots well, there was some sort of cheerleading competition going on,
- 0:45Speaker 2: so they were all cheer all these little cheerleaders running around.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Now you didn't go. You didn't go to Disneyland on Friday?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Did you? No? Went? Saturday morning? We went? You know,
- 0:55Speaker 2: we got there and went to dinner at Downtown Disney
- 0:57Speaker 2: and it wasn't It was an old space in Downtown Disney,
- 1:02Speaker 2: but a new chef has taken over and changed the restaurant.
- 1:06Speaker 2: P Seo is what it's called, and it's a high end,
- 1:10Speaker 2: you know, gourmet Mexican kind of thing. Michelin star chef
- 1:15Speaker 2: took it over really good. I was. I was well
- 1:18Speaker 2: pleased with that. So we all went to dinner. Chris
- 1:20Speaker 2: Provost came and Madison's geek show. Geek shows, Yeah, geek show.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And then the next morning everybody said, well, I want
- 1:27Speaker 2: to sleep in a little bit. I don't want to
- 1:30Speaker 2: be there for the rope drop. I don't need to
- 1:32Speaker 2: be there for weekend. What time that rope drops at eight?
- 1:36Speaker 2: And I said, okay, we can get there at nine thirty.
- 1:39Speaker 2: All right, fine, okay, yeah, So I'm dragging these kids.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Are you Are you staying close close or we stayed
- 1:47Speaker 3: across the street at the place, but it's just like
- 1:52Speaker 3: a block and a half away, right, So that that
- 1:55Speaker 3: was one of the reasons that I picked the place
- 1:57Speaker 3: and told them let's all go to this point.
- 2:00Speaker 2: So I'm dragging these kids around the park. And so
- 2:03Speaker 2: we uh, we all got the lightning lane. Now, I
- 2:08Speaker 2: don't use the lightning lane because when I go I
- 2:10Speaker 2: usually go by myself and there's plenty of single rider
- 2:12Speaker 2: lines and I'm able to walk right on the rights.
- 2:15Speaker 2: But you were traveling together. I got a bunch of people,
- 2:17Speaker 2: So what's the lightning lane to play. Well, it's like
- 2:19Speaker 2: the old fast pass. But I was under the impression
- 2:23Speaker 2: because I never used it before that all you had
- 2:26Speaker 2: to do was scan your lightning lane pass and then
- 2:31Speaker 2: just go right in. But no, oh no, they make
- 2:35Speaker 2: it more complicated than it needs to be. Which is
- 2:37Speaker 2: how which is, yeah, you use your lightning light, but
- 2:41Speaker 2: you have to make a reservation and say, I'm coming
- 2:45Speaker 2: back to this ride. But then there are some rides
- 2:48Speaker 2: that are not regular lightning lane. You have to get
- 2:51Speaker 2: the special lightning lane. And even then you have to
- 2:54Speaker 2: make a reservation. How do you how do you find
- 2:57Speaker 2: out about it? It's all on the app, but you've
- 2:59Speaker 2: got to sit and for it. It's not they don't
- 3:02Speaker 2: bother to spell it out for you. They make it
- 3:04Speaker 2: to But yeah, you have to buy the lightning lane,
- 3:07Speaker 2: and the lightning lane is like thirty bucks extra on
- 3:10Speaker 2: top of how much on top of an already crazy
- 3:13Speaker 2: ticket price for a park copper. And so we didn't
- 3:17Speaker 2: get a chance to use the lightning lane at all
- 3:19Speaker 2: because by the time we figured it out, everything was reserved,
- 3:23Speaker 2: so you just had to wing. So we had to
- 3:25Speaker 2: wait in line like the rest of the shlubs. But
- 3:29Speaker 2: then that that means you can do fewer things right,
- 3:32Speaker 2: and that does mean to do fewer things. So the
- 3:34Speaker 2: first thing we did was we went right down and
- 3:36Speaker 2: we stood in line for the Star Wars ride Rise
- 3:39Speaker 2: of the Resistance, and we'd all been on it except
- 3:43Speaker 2: for Tony. Tony hasn't been to Disneyland in twenty years.
- 3:47Speaker 2: For him, exactly, that was fun. Did he giggle? And
- 3:50Speaker 2: he he was. He didn't giggle on that ride. He
- 3:53Speaker 2: was in awe because the effects are really amazing. But
- 3:58Speaker 2: he was. It was like he, you know, went church
- 4:00Speaker 2: or something. He had an experience. Yeah, he had an experience.
- 4:03Speaker 2: The time I got him to giggle, which was weird
- 4:07Speaker 2: because Tony is six four too tall. Tony, you know,
- 4:11Speaker 2: and the big guy. We wait in line for Guardians
- 4:15Speaker 2: of the Galaxy Breakout, which is the old Tower of Terror,
- 4:20Speaker 2: which we were there that when that opened. Yeah, my
- 4:23Speaker 2: favorite ride in the parks because it drops you faster
- 4:26Speaker 2: than gravity. It pulls you down. Ah. So here's this,
- 4:31Speaker 2: you know, as we're buckling up, I said, here's here's
- 4:34Speaker 2: the trick to this ride. Tony, don't hold on what
- 4:38Speaker 2: do you mean, don't hold on to the safety bar?
- 4:41Speaker 2: But what if the seat belt break. It's not going
- 4:44Speaker 2: to break. Let the seat belt do its job and
- 4:47Speaker 2: have fun. You'll float. And he was. I swear if
- 4:53Speaker 2: I had closed my eyes, it would have been like
- 4:55Speaker 2: am I sitting next to a six year old boy giggling?
- 4:59Speaker 2: That's sweet? I love he just I love it. We need,
- 5:06Speaker 2: we need more opportunities for things like that. Anything new
- 5:10Speaker 2: there that you have, well, you know they own Bluey
- 5:13Speaker 2: now you know the Australian dog Bill Frost knows what
- 5:19Speaker 2: I'm talking. They're crazy for blue and there's a Bluey
- 5:21Speaker 2: show and by Bluey stuff and yeah they're but they're
- 5:24Speaker 2: they're building a whole lot of new stuff. A lot
- 5:27Speaker 2: of the park was under construction. They got two more
- 5:29Speaker 2: rides coming to marvel Land, and there was a lot
- 5:33Speaker 2: more character interaction, which surprised me because they fired so
- 5:36Speaker 2: many people and I thought, well, then that means less
- 5:39Speaker 2: character interaction. No, I actually saw more characters just walking around.
- 5:43Speaker 2: They should exactly. The kids love that they do.
- 5:47Speaker 1: They didn't get rid of mister Toad. No, he's still there.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Did you go on it?
- 5:50Speaker 2: I didn't get a chance.
- 5:52Speaker 1: And I like all of those rides in that little
- 5:55Speaker 1: the Dark Ride, the Pinocchio ride.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I like all of those Fantasy Land rights. Uh.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It was telling Tony, you know, anytime the park keeps
- 6:07Speaker 2: threatening to change the ride or fix it or remove it,
- 6:10Speaker 2: the locals go crazy. And I'm convinced that that's who
- 6:13Speaker 2: goes to Disneyland now is nothing but locals. Well, they
- 6:17Speaker 2: get a discounts discount pass.
