- 0:02All right, I know that I've kind of gone off the theme for this
- 0:08podcast which I started um January February, but but on the Alex Garrett podcast
- 0:19network that Sam is dire, I didn't know this. We are nine days
- 0:24away from a default of our economic system, five days away before, nine
- 0:31days away before if that sealing negotiations fall apart, there is a default a
- 0:39foot. And I'll tell you the saddest image I saw yesterday was this Joe
- 0:51Biden sitting there and Kevin McCarthy. And I'm sorry to say this about the
- 1:00President of the United States, but it looked like McCarthy was visiting the senior
- 1:07home at a very crucial moment. Biden looked and sat there, doing very
- 1:15little of anything. Kevin McCarthy was saying, well, we're not at a
- 1:23at an agreement yet we have disagreement. We cannot come to an agreement,
- 1:26and all Biden does is joke about it. Yesterday was ten, today's nine,
- 1:32So ten days away from our country defaulting, our president's making jokes.
- 1:38Isn't that fantastic? Isn't it so sad that President Biden looked like he was
- 1:46being visited by a relative, not the speaker, but by a relative that
- 1:52want to check in on their older relative. They're elder parents, grandparent went.
- 2:00It looked like that. It didn't look like a speaker president meeting.
- 2:08It looked really awful. And in twenty twenty four, that's not the image
- 2:15we need to strive for. Okay, you could blame Speaker McCarthy for holding
- 2:23the negotiations. You could say Biden shouldn't have been a G seven while his
- 2:27country is in a default mode, default alert. But overall, yesterday's image
- 2:36of President Biden and Speaker McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy in the Oval Office, you
- 2:47know, in one of the big rooms in the Oval Office, looked pretty
- 2:52sad. And I was thinking to myself, what image did I want to
- 2:55talk about today? And that's the one that our country is nine days away
- 3:01from defaulting and we have what looks like relatives visiting their elder in a senior
- 3:07center or a senior home. Because there's very little life coming out of Joe
- 3:14Biden, only jokes and you know, oh, good old Joe. But
- 3:19it's it's a tired act. It's a tired act because our country is that
- 3:28it is that a tipping point. Now you might say, what does default
- 3:34mean on debt? While it can mean non social security and if we default
- 3:51on the debt, the interest rate on the debt would go up, and
- 3:54that probably would lead to a crash. Coined the NPR, the interest rate
- 4:00on the debt that we have has gone up, would go up. I
- 4:08know we want a lower spending, but at this point, just raise the
- 4:13damn ceiling even more because we are facing a calamity of proportions maybe even seen,
- 4:23not even seen in two thousand and eight. And here we have a
- 4:27president joking around, laughing about things, and a speaker that says, we
- 4:32have many disagreements. We can't come to the table. Mister President, help
- 4:36us please, oh waha ha ha. It's like, no, that's not
- 4:46the image America should be having to the world, especially when they see us
- 4:54giving billions of dollars to you create. We can't even get our own economy
- 4:58together nine days. The clock is ticking. The clock is ticking, Washington.
- 5:11Other consequences, according to the NPR, which you know, when it
- 5:14comes to this, I kind of and it would affect cuts in other spending,
- 5:40even an education spending. At a time when student loan forgiveness is already
- 5:46a thing, or they're trying to make it a thing. It's in the
- 5:50courts. I still believe. I believe still Look, I've I've never been
- 5:59a fan of can continually raising the ceiling because just because we can. But
- 6:09this is crucial that something get done, that they not be worlds apart just
- 6:16nine days away, that we don't have the image of a speaker pleading to
- 6:23the present of the United States. Here's exactly what McCarthy and Biden talked about
- 6:30yesterday. We do have disagreements, have a fifty year average, we're having
- 6:35more revenue than any time coming in. But I think we both agree that
- 6:40we need to change the directory, that our debt is too large. I
- 6:44think at the end of the day, we can find common ground, make
- 6:46our economy strong, take care of this debt. But more importantly, this
- 6:51government moving again to curb inflation, make us less dependent upon China, and
- 6:57make our appropriation system work. We'll be done right. I mean to me,
- 7:08why even crack jokes in such a serious time present Biden, that's the
- 7:12frustrating thing. That's the frustrating thing. But we will see, we will
- 7:18see. But the imagery of Biden and McCarthy side by side. McCarthy looks
- 7:27like he's visiting his elderly grandfather or if you know, grandfather in the in
- 7:31the senior Center. I'm sorry to say it like that, but this is
- 7:34what it looks like. And it doesn't look good for the nation, and
- 7:41it doesn't look good for us on the global stage. It doesn't look good
- 7:44for us if our economy is on the verge and all we get our jokes
- 7:48from the President of the United State and even gaffs and stumbles, that's not
- 7:51good. You can say you're you're being so anti Biden right now. No,
- 7:57I'm being I'm being a couple couple of years into the Biden presidency's tired.
- 8:03Biden years tired. It's Biden fatigue, isn't that Well, guess what
- 8:16we'll be back in just a little bit on a nail on the Sports Spotlight
- 8:18side with lou Terminello on Terminalo's take. But I had to get this done.
- 8:24I had event because our nation's at default and Biden's they're joking with McCarthy,
- 8:31come on, come on man, As Joe Biden would say, Hey,
- 8:37one last thing. My podcast, thank God is not defaulting. But
- 8:43but there is a dip, and my podcast acts are not liking it.
