- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Our whole entire day is just a series of different habits that we have, even on ones we don't like, they serve a purpose, they serve a purpose for our brain.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: And that is how a habit is really created, but you have to be someone who actually believes you can be it, like someone who has habits.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the be it till you see it podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor, and fitness business coach.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_01]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be at bay, welcome back to our habits series.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm super excited about this series.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you've been enjoying it.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't listened to the first part of the habit series, you can listen to this one, but I have like a menu start at the beginning of the series because it gives you the tools that you can rinse and repeat for every habit you want to have.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: And so today's topic is like how being it so you see it helps with habits.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: There's a few different ways it helps with habits.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: So if you are someone who believes that you can't start a new habit, you won't.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: I know that sounds like duh but also and also like how many times have you been like I'm a procrastinator or I just can't be consistent with anything or I'm just I'm not a morning person when we have those statements, those IM statements that are in conflict of the things we want to do for sure you're not going to make the habit happen that you want.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's just isn't going to work like that.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I definitely want you, if there's a habit that you're wanting to create, I want you to listen to the start of the series because we go through like the different tools that you need to do to take a habit of feeling and then brewing it into fruition.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: I shared one of the episodes what habit I have been working on and since I recorded those, I'm really proud to say like it's become a habit that I do, some of that I actually think about doing.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I still have to
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also, if you go to the episode where like the part of the day that your habit goes in, I am because my schedule has been really crazy.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: Still figuring out when the best time of day, what is the best thing that the habit comes after.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: And that's just because I'm experimenting, but I do believe that I have someone who can create habits at stick.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: It is a habit that I want.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's still happening daily.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's just taking a little longer to stick in a place where I don't need to remind myself to do it with the testing of the prompts and with the celebration.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so I share that with you because it these things just take time, not because it's 60 days and then more lot you have it.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's not how it works and not because it only takes a day.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: But because we have to get our brain wrapped around it and then our whole entire day is just a series of different habits that we have.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Even ones we don't like.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: They serve a purpose, they serve a purpose for our brain.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: And that is how a habit is really creative, but you have to be someone who actually believes you can beat it, like someone who has habits.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: I've had Brad Bizjack on as a guest before.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: And he's someone that I coach with a couple of years ago.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: And he has this like, be do have situation that promises us to be able to be it till you see it.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of people go with, once I have blank, then I will do blank and I will become blank.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Right, so once I have money,
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: then I will be able to start that business and then I'll be successful, right?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: Other people are like, well, they do it in the a different order.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: So they have, I don't actually, I'm not really going with the underground, but there's a different order you can do it in.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: It still doesn't get you what you want.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: So there's only one way to do it.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: You have to go with the B, then the do with the
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: So if you wanna be someone who works out and does move it every day, you have to act as if you're someone who works out every day.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: You will have to believe I am someone who moves every day.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: I am someone who values movement.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: So the thoughts you put in helps you filter.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: It also will help you as you start to create habits at stick in that you're gonna get some wrong.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna get some thing, you're gonna say, I'm someone who wants to go to the gym every day.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then you're like, I hate this gym.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I prefer digits too.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I'm someone who moves every day.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go to a dance class.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I hate dance.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: And instead, I'm going to go and do some tai chi in the process of having the habits you want.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: You have to start with the person you want to be.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then ask yourself, what that person do?
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm already someone who values movement, what would I do in the morning or in the afternoon or at night?
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: and then break it down into something smaller and then be curious about it and celebrate what you did do.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: So the BTA you see at mindset doesn't just apply to a business goal or a money goal or a relationship goal or a health goal.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: It actually applies to the life, the entire compass of the capacity of the life that you want to have.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's super important how you talk to yourself because if you are saying, ah, I suck at this, I'm terrible at this, I'm someone who can't get up in the morning, you're not gonna just, you're not gonna start getting up in the morning and having to have it at sticks.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: We have to start that mindset.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: So what I would suggest you do, think it's super important is just kind of reflect about like who you wanna be, right?
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: Who is the be?
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: What are we being until we see?
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: So take some time.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: and just reflect on like okay.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's the future we snapped our fingers, everything worked out for you.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, what time you get up in the morning?
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: Who, how do you spend your time?
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: Was it smell like where you are?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: Was it feel like what closed you were?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: Do you cook for yourself?
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: Do the meals get delivered?
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Keep going.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: Right, so like your, your,
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: The person you want to be is how we filter what are the actual habits that you are going to have.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: So this episode could have come honestly as number one before you feel about the bubble of like, okay, I want to have this and here's all the different ideas, but this is a really good mindset to talk to like think about when I was in Cambodia a couple of weeks ago.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: Leading people through the workshop, the first thing we have to do is figure out like, okay, so before I teach you habits at stake, and before I teach you how to delegate things off your plane, before I teach you how to do a dream schedule, we have to understand who it is that we want to be, because if we know who that person is, then we can actually create the schedule that involves that person.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: But if we don't go through that process, then we actually create a dream schedule and habits based on the person we are right now.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: And there's nothing wrong with who you are right now.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: You're an amazing person, you're worthy already.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: But if you are listening to this, it's because you want a little bit more.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: You want something more in an area of your life.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: There's something that you're wanting to be tell you see.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: And so, I really encourage you to take out a piece paper, journal, notebook, you know, transcript tool, and just start to go through a dream day of the, like, you were already it.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: Everything has happened.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: You've had the training or the certificate or the education or the windfall that you need.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: And so, who are you?
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: What do you value?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you believe about yourself?
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: What are the IM statements that you say?
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, when you have that, then it's okay.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: So what happens is this person have?
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: So if you want to have a beautiful Pilate studio, right, and your dream schedule that studio is that you will actually come in, read everyone who works with you, say hi to the clients that first class, there's a send that you make sure is on in the studio, and then you go to your office,
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: do what and then you maybe you take class then and then it's lunch time and then you have meetings who you're meeting with all these different things what are the habits that that person has before they get to the studio for the habits that person has when they're at work what are the habits that person has when they get home so see yourself in the future
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: already having all the things.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: So who is that person?
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then what we can do is rewind it or unravel it to get to where we are today.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then we go back to episode one.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: And then two and three and four.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: And actually start to process.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: one thing at a time, one habit at a time.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Another way that the BTAC at Mindset works is that you actually get to just try one at a time.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: Because if we try to BTAC it is an all or nothing, we try to have this in the last episode.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: We try to do seven habits at the same time.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: It becomes really difficult to understand what's working and really see how we like it.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you have the B2UC at mindset, as you try out these different habits, it makes it so much easier to make sure that the habits are ones that are going to give you the life that you want to live.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then you have to act as if you already have the habit along to be easier for you to celebrate.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: Easy to be curious, easy for the habit to actually stick because you're believed so that you're already are this person with these habits and not the other opposite,
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: procrastinates.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: Does that make sense?
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: So keeping this episode short because what I would prefer you do is take some time to think about the person you want to be on the other side of all of this.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then really think about all the habits that that person has, the you that at that time, the has and not shaming or blaming yourself, I should be further up by now.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: I should be further ahead.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: I should already have these done.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've tried this habit before starting all over again.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, that that should talk doesn't even work.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't, it's not going to help anybody.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, what it does is just it actually just keeps you safe.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know do you believe that like there's safety in living the life that you're trying to get out of?
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because your brain is like, well, this is safe.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: This is the devil that I know, right?
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I would love for you to take some time today to so really think about who you're trying to become, who is the be it till we see it?
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: What are those habits that you want to have in place?
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: and then go back to the beginning of this process, right down to the habits in the center.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: All the ideas that go around it, then do the grid of what to do, don't want to do easy to do hard to do.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: Then take the couple that are in that one quad, quadron, because it's only me a couple.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then see what you can plug it into your day and then have as a prompt.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then use the B2UC at mindset until the habit sticks.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: I am someone who can do this thing.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: I am someone who thinks comes easy for.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then I am going to, I'm someone who wants to make coffee for myself and my partner in the morning.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: So what would that person do to make coffee in the morning?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you have to be?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: And it really does make it so much easier to make any habit because there's a belief in yourself that it's possible.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: I tell the people that I coach all the time, like I cannot believe in your dreams more than you do all the time.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: I can be that person who helps you realize that there's, like, you should be believing yourself, and I can do that.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: I can absolutely, in the beginning when we meet, absolutely, I can see the potential and the amazingness.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: But if you don't believe in you, you don't get very far.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: I would don't get very far.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: I will also just add to this episode how I use habitat stick to make sure that I run this business well.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not perfect.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: I learn every single day.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm constantly like, fine, okay, who do I want to be?
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: It until I see you in this business, right?
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, okay, you get you evolve and you get better.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: And in fact, you actually become the person you're trying to see and then it's like, okay, now the business of residence level, we have this many people on the team.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: So the habits that are in my life that allow me to show up every single day at work exist in the morning.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: My morning routine is humongous for me.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: the morning walk that I have to do, make sure my dog feels super, super love but also that I get the blood flowing, like morning plunge happens before that my coal plunge happens before that I read these amazing daily books while I'm in the coal plunge so that I can start the day.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: with this words of wisdom and things to think about and remind myself of how truly loving and wonderful I can be in this world.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'll need those pep talks.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Those are habits.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: What I read, the cold plunge, the medicine that I take in the morning, the walk, the shake plate, the pilates, the red light, when I have breakfast feeling myself, all those habits are habits that are helping
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: And as I continue to give more clarity around who I'm trying to become as I grow older as my business grows, those habits get reviewed and reflected.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: Some of them will evolve out or evolve to a different time.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: So especially for the women listening to this podcast, like some of the habits that you have may have worked for you a while ago, but they don't work anymore.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: They're not part of who you're becoming.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: And so you'll have to listen to the episode on how to unravel those habits, right?
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: How do we get rid of that prompt?
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: What are we replacing it with?
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: And remind ourselves that like you didn't get anything wrong with that habit, just no longer serves you.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's no longer part of who you're becoming.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: And the more we can become, the person that doesn't shame and blame, but instead celebrates and inquires and gets curious, easier it is for us to add new habits that help us beat up.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: I have habits at night that help me sleep well so I can go up in the morning to start those habits.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: My habits at night have also evolved.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: How soon, how early I have to go to bed has changed.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: What I can listen to before bed has changed.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: What is my skin care routine has changed?
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because as I be until I see it, the person I'm becoming, she has changed, she's got
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: and so I'm giving that to you because I think it's really important that you don't put so much pressure on yourself.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: That what you write down is written in stone and then you have to do it and then you want to do what you've done it.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: Check.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: No, this whole program is created so you can
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: real listen to it and reuse it as you evolve as the clarity around who you're becoming who you're being till you see becomes clear.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you so much.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to hear what you're trying to how you're using habits to beat till you see it would habits came up for you.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: What habits did you realize?
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, when I was listening the first couple episodes, I thought I wanted to work on this habit of drinking more water, but now that I'm thinking about how the person I want to be, what are the habits that I want to have so I can become her.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: because all the things we do are of the ones that help us become the person want to be, or they hold this down where we are.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's a truth.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: If two more episodes in this series, they are morally there for you as part of like how to change and update your habits for when you're traveling or for specifically movement and health.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: So you have all the tools you need to create any habit that you want.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: If you are worried about habits while you're traveling or wanna focus more on healthy, I hate the word like healthy habits.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: But habits that help with the health,
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: that you're trying to live for it.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: Those are within the next two bonus episodes in this series.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: But for now, I think you've got what you need to be to see it and create habits at stick.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I would love to hear how this series works for you.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: So make sure you send it in.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: If you have any questions about it, you want to dive in deeper.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: Then into the beepod.com sauce questions, you can also send the wins of you celebrating the habits that you're creating.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: to that same place, be it pod.com so that's questions, and I will shout you out on our FIF episodes.
