- 0:06Speaker 1: the North Florida sports net.
- 0:07Speaker 1: All right, it's over 25 22.
- 0:16Speaker 1: The Kansas City Chiefs.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Are you back to back three time in five years?
- 0:22Speaker 1: Super Bowl champions?
- 0:24Speaker 1: I got Justin with me to react to it, just like you.
- 0:28Speaker 1: But you drew it up right, just that the NFL scripted it right yep, and if you hammered the under by a?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Oh well, once that, yeah, and it was 47 and a half over under.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I said I said hammer the under and 47 baby.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yeah, hammered under, yeah, right about that.
- 0:52Speaker 1: You're right right on that, and not totally lucky you're wrong.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Well, we always said that Kyle Shanahan always defers and he didn't.
- 1:02Speaker 1: He just he decided to take the ball in overtime.
- 1:06Speaker 1: And with the new rules, I think it's an advantage to defer, you know, because if that, if you go down and score a touchdown or a field goal on the first drive, you get the benefit of having four downs to call place.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I know it didn't come down to that, but just having that as a play-caller, you would think you would want that advantage.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I gotta give Shanahan credit.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Actually in the in the opposite side of this discussion, yeah because if you're an offensive play-caller, you call the plays that win the game yeah you get the ball, you drive it down you win right.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Well, I mean, but you give the ball right back to Patrick Mahomes, though, and if you're confident in your offensive play.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Calling Pat Mahomes doesn't get the ball right, because you know, I know you.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So both teams get the ball now oh, it really change the rules so that's what.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That's the whole reason I was saying why didn't you defer?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Because you get it, you get an event, you get a restricted advantage now, knowing that you're going to have, you know what you have to do if that's like if Mahomes scores the touchdown to start off overtime if the 49ers would have came out and scored a touchdown, mahomes would have got the chance as well.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It changed that a couple years ago after the Buffalo Kansas City playoff game yeah, I kind of hate that rule yeah, and if they before that rule, you're right.
- 2:39Speaker 1: But like in this one, I think you needed to fur.
- 2:42Speaker 1: It's the advantage to defer in overtime, because now you go, you, now San Francisco goes on an eight minute drive to kick a field goal.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So now you know exactly what you need for Kansas City.
- 2:55Speaker 1: We got four downs to do it.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You know we don't need to, but because if you get, if you get stopped, like San Francisco almost did in overtime, but they were you know that it was a defensive holding call, which was the right call.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Both holding calls on both teams were the right calls at the end of the game.
- 3:13Speaker 2: You know what?
- 3:13Speaker 2: Actually check this out, I say it's a bullshit defensive hold holding call.
- 3:20Speaker 2: It actually should have been an illegal contact downfield call, oh, which actually still is just a five-yard penalty, and offers first down, but that's why I called it a bullshit call, because that was not a hold, it was illegal it doesn't matter.
- 3:35Speaker 1: But yeah, I got you.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But um, what I'm saying is I think you lost this.
- 3:41Speaker 1: It was a game, it was a game of margins and the muff punt man, that that seemed to be the.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I mean you just gave them a free, free touchdown, pretty much because the next play right after that month punt boom right in the end zone but, but.
- 3:57Speaker 2: But.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Then the same guy made a huge play on yeah, he did he did.
- 4:02Speaker 1: San Francisco answered, but in the end they weren't able to get the ball in the end zone on that long drive in the end it was Pat.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Mahon.
- 4:12Speaker 1: He's, he's, he is the greatest of art.
- 4:15Speaker 1: He's that, he's our generations.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Joe Montana, tom Brady.
- 4:20Speaker 1: He joins the elite club to have never, he's got three Super Bowl MVPs.
- 4:24Speaker 1: There's the only three guys to ever do it.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I can't wait to see what happens in the next five to seven years.
- 4:31Speaker 1: With that, my home oh, I mean they're going out.
- 4:34Speaker 1: They were already.
- 4:35Speaker 1: If you just watch the game, you saw Kelsey on there, he's already.
- 4:40Speaker 1: It was always about three.
- 4:41Speaker 1: They always wanted to do that, but they had to get a two first.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and that's the only.
- 4:49Speaker 1: They have the same but the only guy on that defense that was there when they played the 49ers the first time was Chris Jones.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I think that was what won in the game, is that?
- 5:00Speaker 2: defense ball.
- 5:01Speaker 1: That defense for Kansas City was the strength of the team all year best secondary in the league, best secondary league.
- 5:09Speaker 1: The combination of corners and then the play calling ability by.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Spagnolia.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:16Speaker 2: What did I say going into this game?
- 5:17Speaker 2: My predictions were a spagnola was gonna dominate the game well, yeah, he was a different, and Chris.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Jones was going to be picking Brock Purdy out of his face mask yeah and what were the biggest things that changed this game?
- 5:31Speaker 2: The Spats play, call right and Chris Jones dominating the line of Chris.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Jones being Pat.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Jones made.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think it's anything other than a credit to Chris Jones.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I think Brock Purdy played great.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Honest, I don't know about great, but he played well.
- 5:48Speaker 1: He played good enough to win he played good enough to win he did, he did, he did.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But there was plays by Chris Jones at like right at the last moment, like just averted throws that would have been scores.
- 5:59Speaker 1: He did that twice I think in the game.
- 6:02Speaker 1: That changed the game you got a recording the differences.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Brock Purdy is really really good at my home, is elite.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah, chris Jones is elite, right, and elite is what changed this game.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yeah, the elite overcame the very good in this game.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Right, atma Holmes is elite.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Andy Reed is an elite play caller.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Kyle Shanahan is an awesome play caller.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Brock Purdy is as good as you can try to be if you're not Pat Mahomes.
- 6:39Speaker 2: But there's only so much.
- 6:42Speaker 2: There's only so much you can do.
- 6:44Speaker 2: You can't overcome this kind of talent.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I mean they're once in a.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I mean we got that combination.
- 6:52Speaker 1: That's what Romo was saying.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Like go for it.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Like down there, when you get the ball and overtime don't kick the field goal.
- 7:00Speaker 2: No, you automatically go for it.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to get a touchdown here.
- 7:05Speaker 2: A field goal doesn't beat Pat Mahomes.
- 7:06Speaker 1: No, you got to be aggressive and you got you almost got to go for two.
- 7:11Speaker 2: You almost got to chip Kelly at score and go for two.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, incredible.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And because you know, if let's go ahead and assume that San Francisco scored a touchdown, yeah, you know Pat Mahomes is going to come down score that touchdown, and you know they're going for two.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:30Speaker 2: You think so?
- 7:32Speaker 1: I mean it feels like they're just.
- 7:34Speaker 1: They just plot along.
- 7:36Speaker 1: You know, they they get.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They gave up a little bit early, they figure you out and then they just shut you down and I, you know, shanahan, called the double pass.
- 7:47Speaker 1: That got it the, the only touchdown in the first half.
- 7:50Speaker 1: They had the long drive.
- 7:53Speaker 1: After they were down they finally got it in, but everything was a struggle On both sides.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Again, yeah, again.
- 8:03Speaker 1: The defenses came to play and then just the corners.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Man for second, for the Chiefs, man McDuffie and Snead, that combo is second to none.
- 8:12Speaker 2: They shut down Tyree Kill and Jaylen Waddle.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you know, and they shut down Debo, samuel and Brandon IU.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and I mean that that's saying something.
- 8:24Speaker 2: George Kittle was not existent in this game.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Nope, nope they shot him, they completely took him out, although I did see a lot of times throughout the game and this was infuriating me the poor people that were watching the game with me, that are not Maniac football fans.
- 8:43Speaker 2: I'm sitting here screaming about like open zone coverage, run routes that are available.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And they're like what are you talking?
- 8:53Speaker 2: Who's, who's this, who's that?
- 8:54Speaker 2: And I'm like no, the scene route for both was wide open for both teams Dude Kittle and Kelsey up.
- 9:03Speaker 2: The scene was wide open all game long for both teams.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody exported it.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:12Speaker 2: There, there was um uh, when, uh, when San Francisco scored the touchdown?
- 9:17Speaker 2: Uh, in the, in the fourth quarter or whatever.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Um, if you look recording in progress through the dump off fast and then dude made the player or whatever.
- 9:26Speaker 2: But if you looked, uh, in the back part of the route, uh, IU was wide open in the middle.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's because the deep middle, the deep middle of the field, was wide, open for both teams and neither team, for some reason, exposed it.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Yeah, well, they got pressure and I'll tell you what.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Both played his ass off tonight.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Uh, chris Jones, both came to play um.
- 9:54Speaker 1: 49ers dominated line of scrimmage early on in this game.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Kansas City hung tough.
- 10:00Speaker 1: They didn't let San Francisco get up big on them.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I thought San Francisco should have been out bigger than they were in the beginning.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Um and then and then defense, though man Right, yeah, that note yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 1: They just once they feel you out, they figure it out.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And there were some really timely blitzes on third downs where they just wait, wait, wait.
- 10:21Speaker 1: They don't show you anything and then all of a sudden Mcduffy comes right up the seam wide open to party what?
- 10:28Speaker 1: There's nothing you can do that zero blitz and it's with the corners too.
- 10:33Speaker 1: He gets him with the corner.
- 10:34Speaker 1: So cause and that's great cause nowadays with the agility of these quarterbacks, and you saw it when Mahomes needed it, he made plays with his feet and that's what he goes to every single time.
- 10:48Speaker 1: That fourth and one I they run it with him Big play.
- 10:52Speaker 1: They didn't run it all year long, they ran it to him on that little.
- 10:57Speaker 2: It actually you know, it reminds me of when I used to play the college football game on PlayStation two, back in like the early 2000s.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you run around and well, well, you had the uh, you had the Ohio state team that had, uh, ted, again San Antonio homes and then a Troy Smith as the quarterback, so he just had all these crazy fast people, and the way I would beat somebody when they would play with the Ohio state was by coming with the nickel corner blitz, because at least then you had somebody fast enough that could keep steps.
- 11:39Speaker 2: He wasn't.
- 11:40Speaker 2: He wasn't the linebacker coming to savage you, but he was fast and he was there.
- 11:46Speaker 2: He could at least slow something down by making you scramble a little bit more than you wanted to and and and that was kind of what Spags did, uh, with the play.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Calling tonight was very similar to that, but what?
- 12:02Speaker 2: and yeah and that was one of the things that we had talked about.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Uh, coming into the game.
- 12:07Speaker 1: He joined was was back.
- 12:09Speaker 2: No, it was back.
- 12:09Speaker 2: No, it was game calling.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Uh, the, the defensive strategy and the blitz is that's back.
- 12:16Speaker 2: No, we're brought coaching staff yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 2: It was brilliant.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it was on both sides of the ball.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I mean the way that this team won games all year long was just a testament to the players.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yes, but man, what a job.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Coaching Spagdola becomes the first coordinator in the history of the game to win four Super Bowls, so he knows what he's doing.
- 12:38Speaker 1: He stopped he stopped Tom Brady from going undefeated.
- 12:43Speaker 2: No, and you know it's crazy with Spags no-transcript.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I would not ever want him any part of being a head coach, Right?
- 12:55Speaker 1: Well, there's a yeah, there's a reason why there's no one.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Probably ever had four.
- 13:00Speaker 2: But he's also the best defensive coordinator, or maybe any coordinator that I've ever seen.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Right, yeah, that's pretty impressive, but I don't want to be my head coach.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Man, I tell you what Andy Reed, as a head coach, has done a great job, he just keeps doing it, man.
- 13:17Speaker 1: He's able to just adapt.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Well, andy finally got a quarterback that wasn't going to literally throw up in the huddle in the middle of the Super Bowl.
- 13:28Speaker 2: As soon as he got a quarterback that wouldn't throw up all over himself in the Super Bowl, he started winning Super Bowls.
- 13:38Speaker 2: And, like I think we talked about this when we were talking about Sabin retiring, the Andy Reed coaching tree and the Shanahan coaching tree are the two best coaching trees out there.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Well, I'll tell you what man Shanahan that's, this one's going to God.
- 14:02Speaker 1: He's going to have a couple.
- 14:03Speaker 1: He's 0-2 as a head coach.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Both losses to the Chiefs.
- 14:07Speaker 2: It's Shanahan.
- 14:08Speaker 1: He's the only coach he's coached in both.
- 14:11Speaker 1: There's only been two games in Super Bowl history that have been in overtime.
- 14:15Speaker 1: He's been involved in both of them.
- 14:16Speaker 1: He was the offensive coordinator.
- 14:18Speaker 1: When Tom Brady and the Patriots came back on the Falcons, he was the head coach on this game again, a terrific game.
- 14:27Speaker 1: But what are you going to do, though?
- 14:30Speaker 1: I mean, you had it at the end of the day, you had Pat Mahomes on one side and you and the other team didn't.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I will hang the 28 to 3 Falcons Patriots Super Bowl.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I'll put that one on Shanahan.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I know I agree.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I can't put this game on Shanahan.
- 14:53Speaker 1: No, okay, I get it.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I think Shanahan called a great game.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I could nitpick some of the play calling on the final drive in overtime.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah, or the decision alone to Not to defer.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I think, that.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I think that should have.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Like he did.
- 15:13Speaker 1: They took the ball and it's awesome, the game.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I mean you just wait because there's a fourth down.
- 15:20Speaker 1: That say Kansas City, Kansas City had a fourth down in that drive.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Say they get the ball first, they might punt that sucker.
- 15:27Speaker 1: You know, if the Kansas City has the ball you get, you get your defense out there.
- 15:32Speaker 1: You can stop them in three downs, make them have to make the decision to go for it.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm with you.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I don't.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I think that is going to be second guess from from now to the end of the time, especially with the new rule change.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I think that's just the old adage hey, if you win the toss and overram, you take the ball right.
- 15:50Speaker 1: But with the new rules that's not the best move, and you just saw why.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Just a pure example, why you want the ball second.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I wouldn't say it's an automatic.
- 16:03Speaker 2: You want the ball second.
- 16:05Speaker 1: All right, watch when it comes up again.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Every team is going to kick.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Because you would write, it's the same, it's the same question, because you're guaranteed.
- 16:15Speaker 1: It's just like a miniature game.
- 16:17Speaker 1: And that's what they said there.
- 16:18Speaker 1: You would rather have the ball last, and it comes down to it.
- 16:21Speaker 1: You would rather have the ball last.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You'd rather have your defense dictate first and then and that I'm just I'd always rather have the option of going for two for the win and you have that when you have the ball last, exactly, and I think you were, you thought were you were, am I not mistaken?
- 16:43Speaker 1: You weren't even.
- 16:43Speaker 1: You thought if you score a touchdown, you win, right, you thought there was still that there was a lot.
- 16:49Speaker 1: There was a lot of people that probably did.
- 16:51Speaker 1: They changed that a couple of years ago.
- 16:53Speaker 1: But I'll tell you what with the rule change a couple of years ago, yeah, you take the before that, yeah, you would take the ball first because you go down and score a touchdown, you win the game.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Now you go down and score a touchdown, you just give the, you give the other team a chance and I think I think the advantage is the advantage is what Kansas City did have.
- 17:15Speaker 1: You can, all, you can hold them to a field goal.
- 17:18Speaker 2: You always want the ball.
- 17:19Speaker 1: You can hold them to a field goal, you can give up an eight minute drive and just keep them out of the end zone.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Then they have to make that decision.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Or if you get them to a fourth and one early in the drive, which happened in the Kansas City drive but they weren't.
- 17:32Speaker 1: They were going to go for it no matter what, because they were already down three and they already knew exactly what they had to do.
- 17:37Speaker 1: When you have Pat Mahomes on the other sideline, oh the more I think about it.
- 17:42Speaker 1: And we're doing the show right after the game.
- 17:44Speaker 1: That's going to be, that's going to be, the most ridiculed decision.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Right there is him Is him just kicking it.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I mean, and then I can't believe, I can't believe Jimmy Reno, I got a, I got a hope.
- 17:58Speaker 1: He's okay, we're going to.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I mean, if we know one thing, that child sharing a hand is going to defer it.
- 18:03Speaker 1: What's Kyle?
- 18:03Speaker 1: What's a yeah, what's the Fox guy Olson, eric Olson, the Miami hurricane tied in.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Olson.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yeah, he was.
- 18:11Speaker 1: You know one thing she had hands going to defer and he did it, he did it.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I think Mahomes Mahomes is your MVP.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I agree with that, you can never like, like I said with with what my breakdown came down to right prior to this game, was I trust Pat Mahomes and Andy Reed at the end of the game More than I trust Brock Right Yep and Kyle Shanahan Right.
- 18:42Speaker 1: And then that was it.
- 18:43Speaker 1: It was just yep.
- 18:44Speaker 1: And everybody wants to be like it's scripted and scripted.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Well, I mean that's because the game's analyzed like it is, like it has been never before.
- 18:51Speaker 1: It's more popular than ever you have.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I'm not a genius.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I don't know and I don't think, I don't think, I don't think there's any like we want.
- 19:02Speaker 1: You know this team in there.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I just think they're really good and they have a really good coach.
- 19:07Speaker 1: They they've been drafting well in defense, as you can see, because four years ago they won the Super Bowl, and only one player on that defense still around.
- 19:14Speaker 1: So they know what they're, they know what they're doing.
- 19:18Speaker 2: There's not one.
- 19:19Speaker 2: There's not one part of this game that surprised me.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:24Speaker 2: You know, and I'm not I'm not a small man, but I mean like there was nothing about this game that surprised me.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It came down to exactly what I thought it would come down to, which was who has the ball last.
- 19:40Speaker 2: If Pat Mahomes has the ball last, Pat Mahomes is going to win.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Yep, because the Niners were the better team tonight Yep Can't see it's held on no-transcript.
- 19:52Speaker 2: If you watch this game and there were and you weren't like paying attention to the score or following the score, you would watch this game and you said, alright, san Francisco one, they're the better team, right, kansas City did what they needed to do when they needed to do it, and when they needed to do it was at the very end.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I'm just did what Katma Holmes does?
- 20:15Speaker 1: I don't think there's.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I mean I'm, he's only 28, it's.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It's hard to believe 28.
- 20:21Speaker 1: He's got three.
- 20:22Speaker 1: He was at the end of the day.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I mean I Mean what?
- 20:26Speaker 1: And that was a good defensive effort, man.
- 20:28Speaker 1: They did everything they had.
- 20:29Speaker 1: They left it all out there.
- 20:30Speaker 1: There was a huge injury to huge injury in the first half Final scores 25 terrible injury.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Terrible injury you lose your one of your best players.
- 20:41Speaker 1: The linebacker tours Achilles.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I Mean that was and just not even on a real play.
- 20:50Speaker 1: He just gets it right before he runs on the field.
- 20:53Speaker 1: That was the green law.
- 20:55Speaker 2: No, that shit was crazy.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Oh my god, that, just that was heartbreaking.
- 20:59Speaker 1: You don't want to see that.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Dude.
- 21:01Speaker 2: It was almost as weird as when Terry Rozier did the same thing in the heat Celtics game before the Super Bowl earlier today.
- 21:12Speaker 1: What yeah, that's right yeah.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I'm not even gonna go there, sorry.
- 21:16Speaker 1: No, I don't even want to go there, because we also lost and Terry Rozier Did possibly destroy his knee 34, 34, 46 for Pat Mahomes, 333 yards to touchdowns, did have an interception in the first series of the second half.
- 21:34Speaker 1: And you're thinking all right, well, this is I don't know.
- 21:37Speaker 1: And he had 16 drives between the end of the AFC championship game and the start of the Super Bowl that had not had a touchdown, when that was the most of his Career.
- 21:50Speaker 1: But just shows you the maturity of him and he just doesn't force it.
- 21:54Speaker 1: He, they rely on the special teams, they rely on their defense and they just keep coming at you.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Dude, you just kind of blew my mind when you told me that Pat Mahomes finished with 330 right in the yard, right I.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I didn't feel like.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I felt like he made me through for 245 right, you just keep cut, he just keeps coming.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Like like the way the game went.
- 22:18Speaker 2: It didn't feel like Pat Mahomes through for 350 yards.
- 22:24Speaker 1: No, they just he hasn't.
- 22:26Speaker 1: He's incredible man.
- 22:27Speaker 1: It is ability to create when, when he has to, they saved.
- 22:33Speaker 1: His feet are critical.
- 22:34Speaker 1: When he's healthy and he can move, he's hard to bring down.
- 22:39Speaker 2: He is what.
- 22:39Speaker 2: He is what everybody wishes.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Lamar Jackson was.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well, he doesn't have the near of the way he extends the plays Right and also runs when he needs to run is, I think it's it's.
- 22:56Speaker 1: It's hard to comprehend how I would say I think Brock Purdy plays has a game similar.
- 23:04Speaker 1: He's a poor man's Pat Mahomes.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I mean there were some plays that he made that the night on.
- 23:11Speaker 1: That on in the second half he made some great plays that were all on Brock Purdy that you just scrambled.
- 23:17Speaker 1: He found that he just had to move a little bit just to get the ball out.
- 23:21Speaker 2: It was a it was a dude.
- 23:23Speaker 2: If, if Kansas City doesn't score in that final drive, brock Purdy is the Super Bowl MVP.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it was, it was he played well, he played well.
- 23:35Speaker 1: The kicker, kickers played well that both kickers hit just huge, tremendous field goals that want Kansas City.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Hey, don't hit a.
- 23:45Speaker 1: They both.
- 23:46Speaker 1: They broke each other's records.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Moody set the record for longest field goal in Super Bowl history, and then the Dagon Kansas City kicker broke his.
- 23:56Speaker 1: That could have been blocked because it went through.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Yeah, right through the deep hands, yeah so I mean, and you have A blocked extra point, man, if the who knows how the game changes with that play, because that changes everything, that changes the whole complexion of the second half, because they ended up just kicking a field goal to force it over time.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you always chase that point right.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Always.
- 24:23Speaker 1: And then there's so many plays, I think in the end of the day you have the muff punt, the block, extra point.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Those are the mistakes.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And they got their tie didn't involve, they figured out a way to.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Kelsey was shut down too, but they ended up getting them involved.
- 24:40Speaker 1: And you can, you know, they just kept coming to him.
- 24:44Speaker 1: It shows you his toughness and you know, and Andy Reed man, he just keeps, they're always gonna adjust, they're gonna do whatever it takes to win and you're huh.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Andy Reed is a genius.
- 24:58Speaker 1: He just keeps calling the plays he's got, he's got a method to his madness, and the only thing that is ever held.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Andy Reed back was down to the McNabb.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean because we've seen that things.
- 25:17Speaker 1: He should be all a famer.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I guess you disagree with that.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I mean dude.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Andy Reed showed up to a five-win Kansas City team with Alex Smith and went 14 and 2.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, he has really just yeah the only thing that held him back was McNabb, but that's all it's the only thing and I love me some down to McNabb back in the day, but McNabb is only getting you to a certain level man, you're right, you need to have a guy in this league.
- 25:51Speaker 1: This is the next dynasty that we wait.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Last time it was a Patriots where you had, you know, the coach and the quarterback, and then pretty much you just they just like figured it out everywhere else and this one.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Now you have a coach, quarterback and a DC and a tight end and you know Spags ain't going nowhere because he's a failed head coach, so Spags ain't going nowhere.
- 26:16Speaker 1: And and what?
- 26:17Speaker 1: What scares me is the.
- 26:18Speaker 1: The defense is gonna get better because it's young, and I mean you.
- 26:23Speaker 1: You got the guys of the right position on offense.
- 26:26Speaker 1: They just they'll figure out a way to do it.
- 26:28Speaker 1: You, as long as you got 15 and 80 read, they're gonna figure out a way to do it.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I don't.
- 26:33Speaker 1: They're gonna be the favorites going in the next year.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Gotta believe that and you know what is great, at least for me.
- 26:44Speaker 2: You know, as a Dolphins fan, coming off the goddamn Patriots down to see where they were.
- 26:50Speaker 2: You know constantly curb stopping me on a weekly basis.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Essentially, this dynasty, if it gets going like it looks like it's about to at this point, this one is so much more fun than the Bill Belichick yeah, yeah, yeah, you gotta yeah, andy Reed and he reads double fist in freaking double cheeseburgers.
- 27:16Speaker 2: And and you got Pat Mahomes, taylor Swift, all this crap going out.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I mean it's it's like the perfect storm of shit yeah, yeah, it really was, and Pat.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Mahomes is so fun to watch.
- 27:30Speaker 2: How fun is that with a Matt Pat Mahomes to watch?
- 27:33Speaker 2: You like Tom Brady dropped back in the pocket and threw slants to Wes Welker right?
- 27:37Speaker 2: Well, pat Mahomes does is so much more fun to watch.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Even though this year he kind of did this yeah, he does, even though this year he was kind of just picking and dumping you.
- 27:48Speaker 1: But that's what you would do.
- 27:50Speaker 2: And then, but he also, when he has to do it, he's gonna buy that time and they're just gonna nickel and dime you like before, when the entire recuels big plays well, and if you still and this is what I'm getting at with the the fun watch is that, tom Brady, when he would dink and dunk with Edelman and Welker, it was like you know, five-step drop, stand tall in the pocket, throw a five-yard slant.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Yeah, pat Mahomes, right now is seven-step drop, scramble around, throw a sideways, underarm, backwards pass and then hit that five-yard slant, right, right.
- 28:30Speaker 2: It's so much more enjoyable to watch.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's not in my division, so that is also enjoyable.
- 28:41Speaker 1: It's gonna fear a fan of.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It's gonna be hard to break this up.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I mean NFL is designed for.
- 28:48Speaker 1: You know it was close, though I mean they could have the season could have ended, but they never doubted themselves at all.
- 28:55Speaker 1: And they get down by 10 again.
- 28:57Speaker 1: They've been down in 10 and the last three Super Bowls they all three Super Bowls they won.
- 29:03Speaker 2: They were down 10 points how long have I been picking against the Chiefs, saying this was a different Chiefs team and they didn't have the weapons?
- 29:11Speaker 2: I mean, I was picking against them all down the stretch in our picks because I was.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, you know, they're just not the same guys, they're not the same.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I was wrong.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I should my head was like once they, you know, once they beat Miami, you kind of knew you're so they're gonna go on the road and they're gonna win, they're gonna.
- 29:32Speaker 1: They took the chip on the shoulder and once they won in Buffalo, you knew that.
- 29:36Speaker 1: I thought they just keep hanging around and like when, once you see, like the other guy, the others gonna not gonna be able to like the clothe, the longer you get and the closer the game gets towards the end.
- 29:48Speaker 1: You got Pat, we got Pat the homes.
- 29:51Speaker 1: You don't and you don't have a lead on us.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Oh, you've seen the movie rounders, I'm sure?
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yes, the, the Chiefs, they got that alligator blood and they're just hanging around, hanging around, and and they hang around right until the end and then they've got the best player on the field.
- 30:13Speaker 2: At the end, and when you've got the best field, you win at the end every fucking time yep, you know it you could just feel it.
- 30:23Speaker 1: You could just feel it and the same thing you felt back when the Falcons were playing the Patriots.
- 30:29Speaker 2: You had the same kind of feels like you're gonna give the ball back to him catch.
- 30:35Speaker 1: First of all, you're gonna, you're gonna take the ball first, not not give it to him.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I go ahead and give it to him and then you're gonna kick.
- 30:42Speaker 1: You're gonna kick a field ball.
- 30:43Speaker 1: You might, you should, probably, should have went for a touchdown there.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you're gonna give the ball back to Pat, my homes but I mean you need to be up seven and make him go for two right.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I mean at that point well, because it's it's, it's Pat my homes he's.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I mean, dude, it's so crazy.
- 31:05Speaker 2: He's 28, three-time Super Bowl champion and he's not going anywhere and coming off of what we just saw with Tom Brady, where it's like something you thought you would never see in your lifetime.
- 31:21Speaker 2: And now we're.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Now we see somebody that is more enjoyable to watch and is on the same goddamn track.
- 31:30Speaker 1: He is like it's almost like a hybrid pitcher, shortstop quarterback, because he just he commands the game, kind of in control of the defense calling out plays.
- 31:42Speaker 2: He's that.
- 31:42Speaker 2: He's that kid in Little League that was the pitcher and shortstop that threw sidearm and threw like 85 miles an hour and was kind of wild.
- 31:53Speaker 1: But a perfect marriage though.
- 31:55Speaker 1: When that, when that, when that draft, when Andy Reid, when they, when he fell to them and he just knew it.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I mean, what a combination.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I mean you just like someone like Andy Reid has been drawing plays his whole life and like that guy he's like oh my God, I got my creative player, I got my guy, I got the guy who always needed.
- 32:15Speaker 2: He's been drawing plays for Pat Mahoney.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Yes he was, since he was drawing up plays for Brett Farr, when he was like a film coordinator.
- 32:25Speaker 1: You have a Brett Farr in Green Bay in 1992.
- 32:27Speaker 1: You have a Brett Farr without taking the risk.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Pretty much that's what you have.
- 32:32Speaker 1: You have the gunslinger without taking the risk and he can run better.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Yeah, andy runs better.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Oh, scary, scary, and he's not, and he's not addicted to painkillers, or I'm defrauding defrauding taxpayers.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Well, that too.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Oh man, oh, which do you have time show?
- 33:01Speaker 1: It's pretty good, I thought so, oh well you know what we need to do.
- 33:07Speaker 2: We need to do like like Fox did back in like 1991, and do a half time podcast, like in living color.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Instead of the half time show, although usher, usher was pretty good, all right.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Well, the chiefs, the chiefs.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I didn't hear usher play my way.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I didn't hear usher play my way.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Three championships in five years.
- 33:31Speaker 1: They did it again.
- 33:33Speaker 1: We'll talk to Jimmy Reno Hopefully he's all right We'll get his reaction about it and we'll maybe catch out some hoops and we'll talk to you next time right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
