- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Real Talk with Mike D. Alright, welcome back
- 0:07Speaker 1: to Real Talk with Mike D. I am the one,
- 0:09Speaker 1: the only, and the original Mike D. And this is
- 0:13Speaker 1: the place where we keep it honest, we keep it real,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and we talk about the things that matter. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 0:19Speaker 1: today I want to have a serious conversation with all
- 0:22Speaker 1: of you. And this episode is a little different because
- 0:26Speaker 1: today I'm not just talking about life, relationships, struggles, happiness, sadness,
- 0:32Speaker 1: or the crazy things happening in this crazy, crazy world. Today,
- 0:37Speaker 1: I want to talk about something that's important to me,
- 0:41Speaker 1: something I've been working on, something I've been putting my time,
- 0:45Speaker 1: my energy, and my heart and soul into. And that
- 0:49Speaker 1: is Real Talk with Mike D. And we're going to
- 0:53Speaker 1: get into all that and much, much more right after this.
- 1:13Speaker 1: All right, welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. Now, this podcast,
- 1:18Speaker 1: this dream, is bigger than just recording an episode, uploading it,
- 1:24Speaker 1: and hoping somebody listens. I want Real Talk with Mike
- 1:28Speaker 1: D to become a self-sustaining podcast. I want it to grow.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I want it to reach people. I want it to
- 1:35Speaker 1: be heard around the world. And I'm going to be
- 1:39Speaker 1: completely honest with you. I need your help to make
- 1:43Speaker 1: that happen. Each and every one of you out there,
- 1:46Speaker 1: I need you to help me make this happen. And
- 1:50Speaker 1: you're asking yourself, Mike, how can I help you make
- 1:54Speaker 1: this podcast bigger? Well, let me tell you how. You
- 1:57Speaker 1: can start by just listening, sharing, telling your family and friends,
- 2:04Speaker 1: telling them that you discovered this podcast and you think
- 2:07Speaker 1: they might enjoy it. Just get the word out. You know,
- 2:13Speaker 1: when I first started Real Talk with Mike D, I
- 2:15Speaker 1: wasn't sitting around thinking about becoming some famous celebrity or
- 2:18Speaker 1: having millions of people recognize me. I just wanted a platform,
- 2:23Speaker 1: a place where I could speak my mind, share my thoughts,
- 2:26Speaker 1: talk about real-life situations, make people laugh, make people think,
- 2:31Speaker 1: and maybe even help somebody who was going through something similar.
- 2:35Speaker 1: But let's face it, life isn't always sunshine and rainbows.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Sometimes life kicks you right in the ass. and you're
- 2:42Speaker 1: left wondering what the hell just happened. And that is
- 2:47Speaker 1: what I want this podcast to be about. Real life.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Not some perfectly scripted version of life where everybody's happy,
- 2:57Speaker 1: everybody has tons of money, everybody is successful, and nobody
- 3:01Speaker 1: has problems. That is not reality. Sometimes we're struggling financially,
- 3:07Speaker 1: sometimes we're lonely, sometimes we're dealing with anxiety. Sometimes we're
- 3:11Speaker 1: trying to figure out what our next move is, and
- 3:14Speaker 1: sometimes we just need somebody to talk to. That's what
- 3:20Speaker 1: I want Real Talk with Mike D to represent, a
- 3:22Speaker 1: place where people can listen and say, you know what?
- 3:25Speaker 1: I am not the only one going through this. But
- 3:29Speaker 1: here's the thing. I don't want this podcast to stay
- 3:32Speaker 1: small forever. I want to build something. I want to
- 3:36Speaker 1: create something that continues to grow, even when I'm not
- 3:40Speaker 1: sitting in front of a microphone recording. I want people
- 3:43Speaker 1: to wake up in the morning, grab their coffee, and
- 3:45Speaker 1: open their favorite podcast app and say, you know what?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Let's see what Mike D is talking about today. That
- 3:53Speaker 1: would be absolutely amazing. Now, I want to talk to
- 3:58Speaker 1: you a little bit about what I meant when I
- 3:59Speaker 1: say I want this podcast to be self-sustaining. I don't
- 4:04Speaker 1: want Real Talk with Mike D to be something that
- 4:06Speaker 1: I constantly have to struggle to keep alive. I want
- 4:10Speaker 1: it to reach a point where the podcast supports itself.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I would love to build a loyal audience. I would
- 4:17Speaker 1: love to have consistent listeners. I would love to have
- 4:21Speaker 1: opportunities for sponsorships, advertising, partnerships, and maybe even merchandise further
- 4:28Speaker 1: down the road. I want this podcast to generate enough
- 4:32Speaker 1: support and revenue to help pay for its own production,
- 4:36Speaker 1: its own equipment, marketing, and future growth. And who knows?
- 4:41Speaker 1: Maybe someday it becomes something that can provide additional income
- 4:44Speaker 1: and open doors I could never have imagined. Wouldn't that
- 4:49Speaker 1: be amazing? Imagine building something from the ground up. Something
- 4:55Speaker 1: that started with one person, one microphone, and one idea.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And eventually that idea becomes a platform that people recognize
- 5:03Speaker 1: around the globe. That's the goal. But I do understand something.
- 5:10Speaker 1: That doesn't happen overnight. You don't just wake up one morning,
- 5:14Speaker 1: record a podcast, and suddenly have thousands of people waiting
- 5:17Speaker 1: to hear what you have to say. That would be nice,
- 5:21Speaker 1: but it doesn't happen. It takes work. It takes consistency.
- 5:26Speaker 1: It takes dedication. And most importantly, it takes people who
- 5:30Speaker 1: believe in what you're doing. And that is exactly where
- 5:35Speaker 1: you come in. Every one of you right now who
- 5:38Speaker 1: is listening, this is where you can help me. I
- 5:43Speaker 1: need you to believe in what I'm doing. I need
- 5:46Speaker 1: you to share this podcast. I need you to get
- 5:49Speaker 1: the word out. Now, I'm going to ask everybody listening
- 5:56Speaker 1: to do something for me. And I'm not asking you
- 6:00Speaker 1: to spend any money. I'm not asking you to buy anything.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I'm asking you to give me something that costs absolutely nothing.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I'm asking you to give me your time. If you
- 6:16Speaker 1: see an episode of Real Talk with Mike D, take
- 6:19Speaker 1: a few minutes and listen. If you enjoy it, please
- 6:23Speaker 1: share it. If something I say makes you laugh, makes
- 6:27Speaker 1: you think, or makes you feel like somebody understands what
- 6:31Speaker 1: you're going through, tell somebody about it. Follow the podcast. Subscribe.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Leave a review if your platform allows it. Share the
- 6:42Speaker 1: episode on Facebook. Send it to a friend. Post it
- 6:46Speaker 1: on your social media. Every single listen matters. And I
- 6:52Speaker 1: mean that. You might think clicking on a podcast episode
- 6:56Speaker 1: and listening for 15 minutes isn't a big deal. But
- 7:00Speaker 1: to somebody trying to build something from nothing, that 15
- 7:04Speaker 1: minutes means a lot. Because every listener represents an opportunity.
- 7:12Speaker 1: An opportunity for the podcast to grow. An opportunity for
- 7:16Speaker 1: another person to discover it. An opportunity for this little
- 7:20Speaker 1: project of mine to become something much, much bigger. And
- 7:26Speaker 1: here's something else. Don't just listen once and then poof. Disappear.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Come back. Be part of the Real Talk with Mike
- 7:35Speaker 1: D community. I want people to recognize the name. I
- 7:40Speaker 1: want people to recommend the show. I want somebody in
- 7:43Speaker 1: another state, another country, or halfway around the world to
- 7:47Speaker 1: tell somebody. Have you heard Real Talk with Mike D?
- 7:53Speaker 1: You've got to check it out. That is exactly what
- 7:56Speaker 1: I'm working towards. Now, I will say that my podcast
- 8:00Speaker 1: has grown tremendously. I have people all across the United States, abroad, England,
- 8:08Speaker 1: South Africa, Sweden, places that I never thought my voice
- 8:16Speaker 1: would reach. Somehow, they are there. And that is amazing.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And I thank each and every one of you for listening.
- 8:24Speaker 1: But we can make this bigger. We can make it grow.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And that's exactly where I need each and every one
- 8:32Speaker 1: of you. Now, let's dream just for a little bit.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Because I think sometimes we get so caught up in
- 8:41Speaker 1: what we're doing today that we forget to think about
- 8:44Speaker 1: what tomorrow could look like. I want Real Talk with
- 8:48Speaker 1: Mighty to reach people everywhere. I want somebody in New
- 8:53Speaker 1: York listening. I want somebody in California listening. I want
- 8:56Speaker 1: somebody in Florida listening. I want somebody in Canada, England, Australia, Ireland, Germany,
- 9:03Speaker 1: or anywhere else in the world listening. I want this
- 9:08Speaker 1: podcast to travel farther than I could have ever, ever imagined.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Think about that for just a minute. Somebody sitting in
- 9:20Speaker 1: their kitchen in another country, drinking their morning coffee, listening
- 9:25Speaker 1: to a guy named Mike D. Talking about everyday life.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Maybe they're laughing. Maybe they're relating to something I said.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Maybe they're going through a difficult time and something in
- 9:37Speaker 1: an episode makes them feel a little less alone. That
- 9:42Speaker 1: is powerful. That's what a podcast can do. It can
- 9:48Speaker 1: connect people who have never met. It can bring different
- 9:51Speaker 1: people together through a shared experience. And I want Real
- 9:56Speaker 1: Talk with Mike D to be part of that. Listen,
- 10:00Speaker 1: I don't care where you're from. I don't care what
- 10:03Speaker 1: your background is. I don't care what your financial situation
- 10:07Speaker 1: looks like. If you can relate to real conversations about life,
- 10:13Speaker 1: then there's a place for you here. My microphone doesn't
- 10:18Speaker 1: have a zip code. My conversations don't have international borders.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And my message isn't limited to one neighborhood, one city,
- 10:29Speaker 1: or one country. I want to reach the world. Now,
- 10:37Speaker 1: here's something that I've learned. You can have the greatest
- 10:42Speaker 1: idea in the world, but if nobody knows about it,
- 10:46Speaker 1: it's difficult to be pretty. I'll be honest with you,
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's going to be pretty difficult to make it successful.
- 10:55Speaker 1: You can work your tail off behind the scenes. You
- 10:58Speaker 1: can record an episode after episode after episode. You can
- 11:02Speaker 1: spend hours coming up with topics, writing scripts, recording, editing,
- 11:06Speaker 1: and putting everything together. But at some point, you need
- 11:10Speaker 1: an audience. You need people who are willing to support
- 11:14Speaker 1: what you're building. And I want to be clear about something.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I'm not expecting everybody to like every episode. That is impossible.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Some people might enjoy the funny episodes. Others might enjoy
- 11:29Speaker 1: the serious conversations. Some people might relate to the episodes
- 11:33Speaker 1: about depression, relationships, loneliness, family, or maybe the struggles of
- 11:39Speaker 1: everyday life. Or maybe, just maybe, some people might want
- 11:44Speaker 1: to hear me complain about Mondays. And believe me, I
- 11:47Speaker 1: can complain about Mondays, but that's okay. That's what makes
- 11:52Speaker 1: this podcast what it is. It's a little bit of everything.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It's real conversations. It's humor. It's emotion. It's life. And
- 12:03Speaker 1: I want the people listening to feel like they're part
- 12:05Speaker 1: of something. They're not just an audience. You're not just
- 12:10Speaker 1: an audience. You are a community. You are the Real
- 12:15Speaker 1: Talk with Mike D community. And I don't want to
- 12:20Speaker 1: build this podcast alone. I want to build it with
- 12:23Speaker 1: all of you. All of you listening. Now, let me
- 12:30Speaker 1: put something into perspective. Imagine if every person listening to
- 12:36Speaker 1: this episode shared it with just two people. And those
- 12:41Speaker 1: two people shared it with two more. And those people
- 12:45Speaker 1: shared it again. That's how something starts to grow. One
- 12:50Speaker 1: person at a time. One listener at a time. One
- 12:54Speaker 1: episode at a time. You never know who might discover
- 12:58Speaker 1: the podcast because you shared it. You never know who
- 13:02Speaker 1: might become a regular listener. And you never know what
- 13:05Speaker 1: opportunities could come from that one simple share. So ladies
- 13:11Speaker 1: and gentlemen, here is my challenge. For the next 30 days,
- 13:16Speaker 1: I want you to help me push Real Talk with
- 13:18Speaker 1: Mike Dean. If you're already listening, thank you. Thank you,
- 13:23Speaker 1: thank you, thank you. But I want you to take
- 13:27Speaker 1: the next step. Follow the podcast. Share an episode. Tell
- 13:33Speaker 1: a friend. Post about it. And if you have a
- 13:37Speaker 1: favorite episode, let me know. I want to hear from you.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I want to know what you like. I want to
- 13:44Speaker 1: know what topics you enjoy. I want to know what
- 13:48Speaker 1: you want to hear about more. I want to know
- 13:52Speaker 1: what makes you laugh, what makes you think, and what
- 13:55Speaker 1: makes you want to come back for another episode. This
- 13:59Speaker 1: isn't just me talking into a microphone. It's about creating
- 14:05Speaker 1: something people want to be part of. It's a It's
- 14:11Speaker 1: about building a community. It's about building the Real Talk
- 14:14Speaker 1: with Mike D community. And ladies and gentlemen, I need
- 14:19Speaker 1: each and every one of you to help me make
- 14:22Speaker 1: this podcast grow and to reach the potential that I
- 14:28Speaker 1: know it can reach. So please listen. Please share. Please
- 14:39Speaker 1: tell a friend. And I will see you all on
- 14:45Speaker 1: the very next episode. I hope you have a great day.
- 14:50Speaker 1: And please be the reason someone smiles.
