- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to teg VAM kind of honest sevens Here Brian section
- 0:18Speaker 1: John Oser with me today as we prepare for a
- 0:20Speaker 1: huge matchup with the Denver Broncos here in Week sixteen.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Big implications off of this win. The Denver Broncos in
- 0:26Speaker 1: the number one seed right now and the Jaguars on
- 0:28Speaker 1: that five game win streak, so we're.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Very excited for that.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Let's get into our big things, brought to you by
- 0:32Speaker 1: g e h A Government Employees Health Association benefits for
- 0:36Speaker 1: federal employees and retirees. Big thing Number one is mile High.
- 0:39Speaker 1: We're heading on the road to take on the Broncos
- 0:41Speaker 1: and it's a tough environment to play in. Leam Cohen
- 0:43Speaker 1: talked about it.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's good to win different ways. You know, you
- 0:49Speaker 3: learn about your team each week, and adversity is usually
- 0:54Speaker 3: how we learn. So we've been able to go through
- 0:57Speaker 3: some of that. This will definitely be the loudest environ
- 1:00Speaker 3: I mean we've been in thus far, so we've got
- 1:02Speaker 3: to prepare for that during the week.
- 1:04Speaker 1: RAN's going to be a big game, has big implications.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Liam talked about this team learning through adversity. We've certainly
- 1:10Speaker 1: seen that went on the Road got to win against
- 1:11Speaker 1: the forty nine ers Monday night football against the Chiefs.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Can this be the next step in that?
- 1:16Speaker 4: I think so, And they will actually face adversity this week.
- 1:19Speaker 5: They haven't been a couple of weeks.
- 1:21Speaker 4: They've played so well on both sides of the ball
- 1:23Speaker 4: that they've eliminated that.
- 1:24Speaker 5: But that's not the way it goes at Mile High.
- 1:27Speaker 4: The first time the bus is pull in, you're going
- 1:28Speaker 4: to see five two and eighty right which is the
- 1:31Speaker 4: elevation above sea level, And they let you know that
- 1:34Speaker 4: right away. And in the fourth quarter, which is where
- 1:36Speaker 4: the Broncos have been so good this year in winning
- 1:38Speaker 4: twelve games and winning eleven in a row, you can
- 1:41Speaker 4: get tired. I mean the air is thin up there,
- 1:44Speaker 4: and you will face some adversity. But John, they've seen
- 1:47Speaker 4: it through the course of the season. This is a
- 1:49Speaker 4: good football team that understands how to get things done.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Actually making the play in the fourth quarter is the challenge.
- 1:56Speaker 4: But they've done it all season long, so there's no
- 1:58Speaker 4: reason to think. Despite the fact that they're at Mile High,
- 2:01Speaker 4: which is an incredible place to watch and play a
- 2:04Speaker 4: football game, I really like their opportunity.
- 2:07Speaker 6: Yeah, guess what Denver's good at home.
- 2:10Speaker 5: They're also good on the road.
- 2:12Speaker 6: It's tough to play in altitude, but I check the
- 2:15Speaker 6: records and they're not something an o there all time,
- 2:19Speaker 6: So you can go in there. The Jaguars are a
- 2:21Speaker 6: good team, and I do think the altitude altitude will
- 2:25Speaker 6: be a factor, and the things Brian talked about would
- 2:27Speaker 6: be a factor. But I think what you have to
- 2:29Speaker 6: remember about the Jaguars, they continue to be a good
- 2:33Speaker 6: team on paper. They continue to do things right. I
- 2:38Speaker 6: think people who think that this is Rocky going against
- 2:43Speaker 6: Apollo Creed are missing the whole point.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Oh They're missing it entirely.
- 2:47Speaker 6: The Jaguars are a good team who've won five games
- 2:49Speaker 6: in a row over the last five or six games.
- 2:52Speaker 6: They're as good as any team in football. That's the
- 2:55Speaker 6: kind of game I expect this to be.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Brian starting to rupt you these Drags and those Jags,
- 2:59Speaker 4: I mean, these jadge are not those Jags. And by
- 3:01Speaker 4: the way, to your point, the Daguars are four and
- 3:03Speaker 4: four all time at Mile High Stadium and power at
- 3:06Speaker 4: Mile High whatever you want to call it, and the
- 3:07Speaker 4: last couple of times they've gone out there, they have
- 3:09Speaker 4: played pretty hard well.
- 3:11Speaker 1: The chances are there for sure. Let's go to our
- 3:13Speaker 1: second big thing, which is pick your poison. When we
- 3:15Speaker 1: talk about going up against the Broncos, obviously you know
- 3:17Speaker 1: the defense, but on offense, bough Nicks hasn't playing really well,
- 3:20Speaker 1: including last week against the Packers, and we and Cohen
- 3:22Speaker 1: talked a little bit about whether you try to rush
- 3:24Speaker 1: him or you try to stay back and cover.
- 3:27Speaker 3: We watched it today, a bunch of clips of it
- 3:30Speaker 3: this morning as a team and how much in unison
- 3:34Speaker 3: that is and how much that does play a part,
- 3:37Speaker 3: you know, showed some clips of guys, you know, feeling
- 3:40Speaker 3: like they had something covered or may have had him
- 3:43Speaker 3: down or corralled, and then the play is not over.
- 3:48Speaker 3: It's definitely one of those things that's one of his
- 3:51Speaker 3: best traits is just going and being a football player
- 3:54Speaker 3: as a coach's son who understands the game.
- 3:59Speaker 1: John and I against the Packers, I think bonis kind
- 4:01Speaker 1: of finding himself fully in that game.
- 4:04Speaker 2: And what will that look like again this week.
- 4:06Speaker 1: We don't know, but now seeing it on film, that
- 4:09Speaker 1: has to be something they respect going in there.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Yeah, he extends plays. The idea gets a quarterback like this,
- 4:15Speaker 6: you keep him in the pocket, you make him beat
- 4:17Speaker 6: you from the pocket. To me, it's a game. I
- 4:22Speaker 6: always use the you don't want your dbs pounding the
- 4:28Speaker 6: ground after they've missed a shot at an interception. And
- 4:32Speaker 6: what I mean by that is at times he's going
- 4:33Speaker 6: to throw you the ball. All quarterbacks do. When you're
- 4:36Speaker 6: playing a guy who makes plays, and he's specially onovx's
- 4:38Speaker 6: and o's, when you have your opportunities, that's how you
- 4:42Speaker 6: win big games like this. If then third quarter you're
- 4:45Speaker 6: walking up and say, oh, they should have had that
- 4:46Speaker 6: interception to the forty and be going in and they score,
- 4:50Speaker 6: that's where games like this turn take advantage of the
- 4:53Speaker 6: breaks that he gives you, right.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I talked to a friend in Denver yesterday who said
- 4:56Speaker 4: the difference in Bonnicks from last year to this year
- 4:59Speaker 4: was it he would extend plays last year, but he
- 5:02Speaker 4: didn't have the timing.
- 5:03Speaker 5: He didn't know when to get rid of the ball.
- 5:06Speaker 4: This year, he sees the field completely and he's running
- 5:08Speaker 4: to his right and didn't hesitate when he sees a
- 5:10Speaker 4: flash of orange coming back to throw the ball and
- 5:13Speaker 4: not try to extend the play and get.
- 5:15Speaker 5: To the easiest read of possibility. He is a really gifted.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Timing quarterback right now because he understands what Peyton Sean Payton,
- 5:24Speaker 4: the head coach of the Broncos, he's asking him to do,
- 5:26Speaker 4: and he gets rid of the ball, doesn't hold.
- 5:28Speaker 1: It all right, Let's do our final big thing, which
- 5:31Speaker 1: is winning one on one. We know that this Broncos
- 5:33Speaker 1: defense is, if not the best, one of the best
- 5:36Speaker 1: in the NFL, and a lot of that is due
- 5:38Speaker 1: to their pass rush.
- 5:38Speaker 2: They see so much success there.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Liam Cohen talked a little bit about how you try
- 5:43Speaker 1: to combat that.
- 5:45Speaker 3: You try to prepare for chips and relief for one
- 5:51Speaker 3: guy or so it's hard to do it at both
- 5:56Speaker 3: the ends and inside. It's just hard to go help
- 5:59Speaker 3: and especially where they do so much five man rush
- 6:03Speaker 3: that by alignment alone makes it difficult and challenging to
- 6:08Speaker 3: find where you're going to go and try to provide
- 6:09Speaker 3: a little relief and help for So they do it
- 6:13Speaker 3: both with their personnel and they have good scheme. I mean,
- 6:16Speaker 3: Benschosis one of the best out there right now and
- 6:19Speaker 3: got a lot of respect for the way that they've
- 6:22Speaker 3: put their players in the best positions to be successful.
- 6:25Speaker 3: And you know, winning one on one matchups is what
- 6:27Speaker 3: this league is all about, Brian.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It's hard to give help and chip when everybody on
- 6:32Speaker 1: the line is really talented, which is what you're dealing
- 6:34Speaker 1: with in Denver. So it's going to be on the
- 6:36Speaker 1: line to kind of do what they can individually to
- 6:39Speaker 1: protect everyone.
- 6:40Speaker 4: You're right, and Robert Hainsey was in the locker room
- 6:43Speaker 4: yesterday the Jaguars center talking about the preparation. They'll have
- 6:47Speaker 4: a meeting every day this week where they talk about,
- 6:49Speaker 4: you know, the protection schemes, and then they'll have one
- 6:51Speaker 4: with the blitzes and they'll go through everything and everyone
- 6:54Speaker 4: who's in that meeting, the quarterback, the tight ends, the
- 6:56Speaker 4: running backs, offensive line, they all have to be on
- 7:00Speaker 4: the same page. It's going to be on Hainsey in
- 7:02Speaker 4: the quarterback to communicate what they're seeing out there and
- 7:05Speaker 4: for everyone to just say be listening, right because you're
- 7:10Speaker 4: going to have to know exactly what you prepared for
- 7:13Speaker 4: all week long. If you use the word preparation once,
- 7:16Speaker 4: he used it ten times in the conversation with reporters
- 7:19Speaker 4: in the locker room. They are preparing for one of,
- 7:22Speaker 4: if not the best front force in the National Football
- 7:25Speaker 4: League and that's saying something because they saw the Rams
- 7:27Speaker 4: earlier this year.
- 7:28Speaker 5: John and those.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Guys are really good Seahawks the week before they are
- 7:31Speaker 4: as well. It's all about knowing what these guys like
- 7:34Speaker 4: to do and then communicating on the field in a
- 7:37Speaker 4: very loud environment.
- 7:38Speaker 6: Yeah, obviously the Lion has to get guys blocked most
- 7:41Speaker 6: of the time. It's hard against the team like the
- 7:43Speaker 6: Broncos to always get him blocked. For the reasons that
- 7:45Speaker 6: Liam Cohen suggested when I was covering the Colts, Peyton
- 7:48Speaker 6: Manning when he would play the Ravens and that defense
- 7:52Speaker 6: with ray Lewis would talk after games about how mentally
- 7:55Speaker 6: exhausted he was. I think Trevor Lawrence will be mentally
- 7:58Speaker 6: exhausted after this game. It's a big game for him.
- 8:01Speaker 6: You have to read, you have to know when to
- 8:03Speaker 6: get rid of the ball. You have to be smart
- 8:05Speaker 6: back there. Then when you are smart, the receivers that
- 8:09Speaker 6: are coming along so well, Brenton Strange, Jacobe Myers, Parker Washington.
- 8:14Speaker 6: This is the game where they have to win and
- 8:16Speaker 6: Trevor has to make plays, just like on defense where
- 8:18Speaker 6: you have to catch the ball. Bench thonn to you
- 8:20Speaker 6: when the opportunities do present themselves. This is the game
- 8:23Speaker 6: where Trevor Lawrence has to make the plays at the
- 8:26Speaker 6: moments that frankly he's been doing the last two or
- 8:28Speaker 6: three weeks.
- 8:29Speaker 1: It's gonna take everybody absolutely on the road this week.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Stay with us here on jag Zamm. Coming up after
- 8:33Speaker 1: the break, we go behind the Enemy Lines with a
- 8:35Speaker 1: media member from the Denver Broncos. Jag Zam brought to
- 8:40Speaker 1: by Field Auto Group Keefields First, Jacksonvill's premiere Luxury Auto Group.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Go to Field Auto dot Com.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Welcome to Behind Enemy Lines, where we check in with
- 8:50Speaker 1: a media member of the Jaguars opponent team. We're heading
- 8:53Speaker 1: to Denver this week, so we're checking in with Cody Rourke,
- 8:55Speaker 1: obviously Denver Broncos beat reporter, host of Lockdown Broncos.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Cody, I love talking to you.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I love catching up with you, and it's always more
- 9:02Speaker 1: fun when your team is playing well. So I can
- 9:03Speaker 1: imagine you're having a lot of fun right now.
- 9:06Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean it's nice to be able to cover
- 9:08Speaker 7: a team that's got a lot of excitement behind it.
- 9:10Speaker 8: And look, i'd say same thing for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 9:13Speaker 8: They're on the rise.
- 9:14Speaker 7: You know, Liam Coleman his first year, I think he's
- 9:16Speaker 7: done such a tremendous job with Trevor.
- 9:18Speaker 8: Lawrence and those guys.
- 9:19Speaker 7: I think they face him adversity early on, and then
- 9:22Speaker 7: now they're playing with a lot of rhythm and make
- 9:24Speaker 7: Sunday's game between these two teams very exciting.
- 9:27Speaker 8: Between two playoff contenders.
- 9:29Speaker 1: We're on our a little win streak five games. You
- 9:32Speaker 1: guys are on a big win streak eleven games. What
- 9:35Speaker 1: have you seen just in the terms of progression. Obviously
- 9:37Speaker 1: guys made the playoffs last year. But what Sean Payton's
- 9:39Speaker 1: been able to do and kind of similar to what
- 9:42Speaker 1: Liam Cohen's trying to do. Inserting that belief when not
- 9:44Speaker 1: a lot of people are talking about you, but having
- 9:46Speaker 1: that belief on the roster that they can compete and
- 9:49Speaker 1: you know, do something in the playoffs. Super Bowl bound.
- 9:52Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it's about instilling a culture that really
- 9:54Speaker 7: doesn't care too much about the outside noise. I would
- 9:57Speaker 7: say that's the one noticeable difference since Sean Payton has
- 9:59Speaker 7: come in. And look, it's taken a couple of years
- 10:02Speaker 7: from where he first came in twenty twenty three to
- 10:04Speaker 7: where he is now. That foundation has already kind of
- 10:07Speaker 7: been set with this team, and so even if people
- 10:09Speaker 7: overlook them, if people think that they're the underdogs, they
- 10:12Speaker 7: really don't care. They don't pay too much attention to that.
- 10:15Speaker 7: I think that they just focus week to week. And
- 10:17Speaker 7: as cliche as it may sound, I felt like in
- 10:20Speaker 7: other Broncos teams that I've covered, there was very much
- 10:22Speaker 7: a sense where teams will look behind them or they
- 10:24Speaker 7: look too far ahead, and then you lose out on
- 10:27Speaker 7: the present, and we've seen them slip because of that.
- 10:30Speaker 7: That has not been the case here with the Sean
- 10:31Speaker 7: Payton coach team here in twenty twenty five.
- 10:34Speaker 8: They are a resilient group of guys and they.
- 10:37Speaker 7: Never feel like even if their backs are against the
- 10:39Speaker 7: wall in the fourth quarter, they never feel like they're
- 10:41Speaker 7: down and out.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Taking on the Packers last week, I think probably one
- 10:44Speaker 1: of those games where people expected maybe the Packers to
- 10:47Speaker 1: come in and win, but getting down early, battling back,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and I think what was cool is similar to last
- 10:52Speaker 1: week we talked about Trevor Lawrence's best game. Bon Nix
- 10:54Speaker 1: had probably what I've seen in from the professional level,
- 10:57Speaker 1: his best game, and after a season where people are
- 10:59Speaker 1: kind of picking and saying the defense is everything and
- 11:01Speaker 1: the offense can't get it together. Bonick certainly showed them
- 11:04Speaker 1: last week.
- 11:05Speaker 7: Yeah, complimentary football it matters so much in today's NFL.
- 11:08Speaker 7: And look, I think when you look at the Broncos,
- 11:10Speaker 7: you look at the Jaguars, you see a lot of
- 11:11Speaker 7: complimentary football. Right The defense is taking care of business
- 11:14Speaker 7: given the offense the opportunities. Special teams are making plays,
- 11:17Speaker 7: whether it's in the return game, the kicking game.
- 11:19Speaker 8: I mean, that's what I think when I.
- 11:20Speaker 7: Watch these two teams, and certainly for Denver, they have
- 11:24Speaker 7: since coming out of the bye week, they kind of
- 11:25Speaker 7: have been playing a little bit more complimentary.
- 11:27Speaker 8: Where there's weeks.
- 11:28Speaker 7: Where they've had offensive issues, there's weeks where they've had
- 11:30Speaker 7: special teams issues, and the defense has kind of been
- 11:33Speaker 7: carrying the water. Will now coming out of the bye week,
- 11:35Speaker 7: the defenses has some up and down moments, but the
- 11:38Speaker 7: offense and special teams they're making big plays and the
- 11:40Speaker 7: defense is finding ways to make big plays and clutch
- 11:43Speaker 7: situations when it matters most. And look down twenty three
- 11:46Speaker 7: to fourteen last week against the Packers, patz or Tans
- 11:48Speaker 7: interception changed the entire game and allow bow Knicks and
- 11:52Speaker 7: the Broncos offense to go out there and score points
- 11:54Speaker 7: and make it a little bit closer, and then they
- 11:56Speaker 7: just kind of ran away with it from there. So
- 11:58Speaker 7: that's very much I think here with this Broncos team
- 12:01Speaker 7: is that they are now playing complimentary football, say at
- 12:03Speaker 7: the most important time, which is the month of December.
- 12:06Speaker 7: And honestly, this game kai feels a lot like a
- 12:09Speaker 7: potential playoff matchup between these two teams who very well
- 12:12Speaker 7: could end up seeing each other again very well.
- 12:15Speaker 1: May I'm looking at this defense first and third down,
- 12:18Speaker 1: red zone, you know, second inrrationally to the Jaguars. Is
- 12:21Speaker 1: there a weakness on the defense from your perspective or
- 12:24Speaker 1: is it just that's kind of what they hang their
- 12:26Speaker 1: hat on.
- 12:27Speaker 8: I mean, they're very aggressive. They love to blitz.
- 12:29Speaker 7: They love to send five or six guys and then
- 12:30Speaker 7: they'll drop back guys into coverage.
- 12:32Speaker 8: They mix up man in his.
- 12:33Speaker 7: Own coverage pretty effectively here under Vance Joseph's scheme. I'd say,
- 12:36Speaker 7: if there's any weakness that we have seen so far
- 12:39Speaker 7: coming out of the bye week, I think they've allowed.
- 12:41Speaker 8: Too many explosive plays.
- 12:43Speaker 7: There's been a lot of tight ends coming open, underneath
- 12:45Speaker 7: and over the top wide receivers making plays. Last week
- 12:48Speaker 7: against the Packers, the Broncos in the first quarter allowed
- 12:51Speaker 7: three explosive plays at twenty five plus yards in the
- 12:54Speaker 7: passing game against Trevor Lawrence. This offense that has a
- 12:57Speaker 7: multitude of playmakers, including former friends Tim Patrick who we
- 13:01Speaker 7: know and love here in Denver, Brian Thomas, and obviously
- 13:03Speaker 7: Jacoby Myers, has been a great addition for Trevor Lawrence
- 13:06Speaker 7: and Liam Cohen in this situation. You can't allow that
- 13:08Speaker 7: to be the trend that continues here coming into this matchup.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Do you have some X factor players for me, maybe
- 13:14Speaker 1: one on either side of the ball that you feel
- 13:16Speaker 1: like need to have a good game if the Bronks
- 13:17Speaker 1: want to get a win.
- 13:19Speaker 7: Yeah, let's start off on the defensive side of the ball. Obviously,
- 13:21Speaker 7: the Broncos will be without Brandon Jones. He landed on
- 13:23Speaker 7: injured reserve, so PJ. Locke will fill in for him.
- 13:26Speaker 7: I think the rookie first round pick Jade Baron, who's
- 13:30Speaker 7: kind of got this hybrid role in the dime package
- 13:32Speaker 7: covering in the slot, has the capability of dropping back
- 13:35Speaker 7: and playing some safety He's going to be my ex
- 13:37Speaker 7: factor to keep an eye on here this week. He's
- 13:39Speaker 7: done tremendous especially when covering tight ends. They could deploy
- 13:43Speaker 7: him against this very good wide receiver corps that I
- 13:45Speaker 7: know the Jacksonville Jaguars certainly do have.
- 13:48Speaker 8: That's my defensive X factor, I'd say. On the offensive side.
- 13:51Speaker 7: Of the ball, we're gonna go with Troy Franklin here
- 13:53Speaker 7: once again, coming off of a big time performance against
- 13:55Speaker 7: the Green Bay Packers.
- 13:56Speaker 8: He's been the guy who's led the team.
- 13:58Speaker 7: In targets this season because Courtland Sutton has seen so
- 14:01Speaker 7: much attention. If Sutton wasn't going to see the attention
- 14:04Speaker 7: I think the Jaguars are going.
- 14:05Speaker 8: To give him. I say, hey, the X factor are
- 14:07Speaker 8: someone who needs to step up. Troy Franklin very good.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Well, we look forward to this matchup for sure. When
- 14:12Speaker 1: we've circled on the calendar, we'll see on Sunday, Denver
- 14:15Speaker 1: looking forward to a guy that was behind enemy lines.
- 14:19Speaker 1: With Cody Rourke, Denver Broncos beat reporter coming up after
- 14:22Speaker 1: the break, we'll go over what we think the headlines
- 14:24Speaker 1: are going to be on Monday morning. Welcome back to

- 14:47Speaker 1: We're going to do our best to predict the future
- 14:49Speaker 1: as we try to guess what we will be talking
- 14:50Speaker 1: about on Monday morning. Well, we'll be back on Tuesday
- 14:53Speaker 1: morning because we're coming back from Denver. But what will
- 14:55Speaker 1: everybody be talking about on Monday morning? After this matchup
- 14:57Speaker 1: with the Broncos.
- 14:58Speaker 5: I went with the air up there a couple of
- 15:01Speaker 5: different ways.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Obviously, look at it, it's fifty two hundred and eighty feet.
- 15:04Speaker 4: It's thin up there, but it's also rarefied air. John,
- 15:07Speaker 4: because you're playing the number one part of the seed
- 15:11Speaker 4: in the AFC.
- 15:13Speaker 6: Easy for you to say, yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Not so much. He's talking about that thin air.
- 15:16Speaker 5: It's affecting me now.
- 15:17Speaker 4: So I think Trayvon Walker is going to have a
- 15:21Speaker 4: major impact.
- 15:22Speaker 5: He has looked better the last couple of.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Weeks, like he's finally gotten used to playing with the
- 15:26Speaker 4: brace on his left knee and that whatever contraption he's
- 15:29Speaker 4: wearing on his left wrist and is making plays. He's
- 15:32Speaker 4: looked good on the practice field this week. So my
- 15:35Speaker 4: guess is that he is going to be a major
- 15:37Speaker 4: factor in disrupting what bo Nicks likes to do. And
- 15:42Speaker 4: I think that the Jaguars win. I just I know
- 15:46Speaker 4: that they're a very good football team, and I know
- 15:48Speaker 4: they've won eleven in a row, and I know all
- 15:49Speaker 4: about the air, been up there enough to experience it.
- 15:52Speaker 4: I think that Trayvon Walker creates enough havoc and the
- 15:55Speaker 4: Jaguars defense takes care of things.
- 15:58Speaker 5: And then it'll be up to the quarterback. But I'm
- 16:01Speaker 5: going with the air up there.
- 16:02Speaker 6: Yeah. I experienced the air as well once like thirty
- 16:06Speaker 6: years ago, going up for a run and I was
- 16:08Speaker 6: in Boulder doing a story on BISSELLI when he was
- 16:11Speaker 6: a rookie as a matter of fact, and the air
- 16:14Speaker 6: hit me and I was crushing and then I realized
- 16:16Speaker 6: I was just out of shape. So I don't really know,
- 16:20Speaker 6: but I'm gonna need mine throwing up here. Yeah, I mean,
- 16:25Speaker 6: onward Duval. I mean, And I guess I went with
- 16:28Speaker 6: this because I think it's going to be a case
- 16:31Speaker 6: where they win and you look back and say, yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 6: they're good. I mean, it's I keep hitting this theme
- 16:39Speaker 6: this week that when you talk to fans about it, it's, oh,
- 16:42Speaker 6: you think they can win?
- 16:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:45Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know if they'll win, but I
- 16:48Speaker 6: think that if you put the Jaguars, if you put
- 16:52Speaker 6: the Kansas City Chiefs uniforms on the Jaguars, everybody would
- 16:56Speaker 6: be talking about this game is oh, this is a
- 16:57Speaker 6: matchup of two powers. Oh, look at what beat the
- 17:01Speaker 6: forty nine ers, beat the Panthers, beat the Chiefs, beat
- 17:04Speaker 6: the Houston Texans. Already, everybody would look at this team
- 17:07Speaker 6: as a legitimately good team. If they had any other
- 17:09Speaker 6: uniform on, they sort of dismiss it because it's the Jaguars.
- 17:13Speaker 6: This is a good team that can go out and
- 17:15Speaker 6: beat this team. One teams won five, one team's won eleven,
- 17:19Speaker 6: Neither is lost in November.
- 17:20Speaker 4: What do you want? Listen, They're scoring thirty two point
- 17:23Speaker 4: eight points per game over this winning stretch.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Kay.
- 17:25Speaker 4: I think there's two things that John touched on. One
- 17:27Speaker 4: is I don't think there's a lot of respect obviously
- 17:29Speaker 4: out there. We've been talking about that. The other is
- 17:31Speaker 4: I just don't think the fan base here has become
- 17:34Speaker 4: accustomed to disappointment, because this franchise is disappointed on the football.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Field in some big games.
- 17:40Speaker 4: But again it goes back to these versus those that
- 17:42Speaker 4: was those Jaguars, these Jaguars, Baselli, Gladstone, Cohen and now
- 17:47Speaker 4: what we're getting from Lawrence.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Scribe me at all if they go out there and win.
- 17:54Speaker 6: And I put Jakobe Myers's picture up there for this reason,
- 17:57Speaker 6: I think against this defense, when Trevor will have moments
- 18:04Speaker 6: where he's under pressure, the reliability that he has on
- 18:08Speaker 6: Jacoby and Brenton Strange, I think there are going to
- 18:11Speaker 6: be big moments third and eight where he his trust
- 18:15Speaker 6: in Jacoby, turns difficult situations into opportunities and all of
- 18:20Speaker 6: a sudden, instead of hunting, you're on the Broncos forty five.
- 18:23Speaker 6: That's what he's given this team. I think he's huge
- 18:26Speaker 6: on Sunday.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I also think, by the way that with the way
- 18:28Speaker 4: that Bryan Thomas Juniors played in recent weeks, patser ten
- 18:31Speaker 4: best corner of the league, right defensive Player of the
- 18:33Speaker 4: Year candidate is going to have to pay a lot
- 18:35Speaker 4: of attention at number seven, which should open some things.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Up for number three, and I think if there is
- 18:40Speaker 1: a spot, it might be some of the deep ball angles,
- 18:42Speaker 1: just because they're dealing with some injuries on the back end,
- 18:44Speaker 1: that might be where he could maybe make a little
- 18:47Speaker 1: bit away with the with the defense that you're dealing
- 18:49Speaker 1: with in Denver. So I went with Rocky Mountain High
- 18:51Speaker 1: because I think this is going to be an opportunity.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Both of these quarterbacks playing their best games last week,
- 18:58Speaker 1: and I know this is a defensive line jump with
- 19:00Speaker 1: these defenses are very good at what they do, but
- 19:03Speaker 1: I think it'll be whichever quarterback can handle this pressure
- 19:06Speaker 1: the best. And for me, this is something that I
- 19:08Speaker 1: think could be repeated in the playoffs. This is a
- 19:10Speaker 1: This is a game where I could see these two
- 19:12Speaker 1: teams playing again. So for me, I'm seeing a close matchup.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I hope the Jaguars pulled out, but as John is saying,
- 19:18Speaker 1: I'm not sure what's going to happen, but I just
- 19:20Speaker 1: know it's going to be a good football game.
- 19:21Speaker 6: Well, I think it's a great point Nationally, Trevor was
- 19:28Speaker 6: written off four or five weeks ago, if not two
- 19:31Speaker 6: or three years. The Trevor Lawrence thing to me is
- 19:35Speaker 6: very interesting this week. Everybody wrote him off, nobody's thinking
- 19:40Speaker 6: about it now. He's a quarterback that goes into these games.
- 19:44Speaker 6: He's got playoff experience, he's been here before. He's not
- 19:49Speaker 6: a kid. This is not a wide eyed moment. He
- 19:51Speaker 6: doesn't act wide eyed right now, coming out party, however
- 19:55Speaker 6: you define it, you know, I think the new Trevor
- 19:59Speaker 6: that we're all seeing can take some of the old
- 20:02Speaker 6: experience that run in twenty two, everything he's been through.
- 20:07Speaker 6: I don't. I don't think he's gonna be wide eyed
- 20:09Speaker 6: at this moment. I guess is what I'm getting at.
- 20:10Speaker 6: I think it's really important this weekend.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Really valuable because this is essentially a playoff game, with
- 20:15Speaker 4: the way that the Texans are right on your heels
- 20:17Speaker 4: and all the tiebreakers you need.
- 20:19Speaker 2: This one a lot of tiebreakers. We'll talk about some
- 20:21Speaker 2: of them.
- 20:21Speaker 1: We come back after the break for a last segment
- 20:23Speaker 1: here on Jack's Am Experience. If you want customize Jaguars
- 20:35Speaker 1: furniture for your home, check got zip cher dot com
- 20:37Speaker 1: to browse all the customizable options.
- 20:38Speaker 2: The zip chair is furniture for fans.
- 20:43Speaker 7: Now, you don't want to go for it.
- 20:45Speaker 1: You do not want to go for it.
- 20:46Speaker 8: They run a sweep the whole. He gets hated at that.
- 20:50Speaker 8: Want to play.
- 21:00Speaker 7: Hold him, not to go for it.
- 21:01Speaker 5: He now go ahead and suffocate even more. Don't get
- 21:05Speaker 5: to another one.
- 21:06Speaker 6: I'll get to a nerd on. I'll get to a
- 21:08Speaker 6: nerd one.
- 21:10Speaker 8: I'll get to a man. Get hot treamm up, hot
- 21:16Speaker 8: tream up.
- 21:17Speaker 5: It's like, what trouble run that?
- 21:19Speaker 6: No, like, we can't be put on offense got harder
- 21:23Speaker 6: come for closing to defense.
- 21:24Speaker 5: He got to play him and running.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Back he took him.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Good announce from Ravon Walker there and he tried to
- 21:30Speaker 1: warn him on fourth thousands told enough to do it,
- 21:33Speaker 1: and they did it anyway, and they lost about six yards.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I think trying to go fourth one. But let's talk
- 21:38Speaker 1: a little bit more about this Denver game. We talked
- 21:40Speaker 1: a little bit about the implications if the Jaguars were
- 21:42Speaker 1: to get a win that brings in the second seed
- 21:44Speaker 1: into play, and then also I believe if the Colts
- 21:47Speaker 1: or the Texans lose, that confirms that guarantees them a
- 21:51Speaker 1: playoff spot.
- 21:52Speaker 2: So we're looking ahead.
- 21:54Speaker 1: We're not trying to do too much math because I'll
- 21:55Speaker 1: get myself confused.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I think winning is good John. I think that's what
- 21:59Speaker 2: we do well.
- 22:01Speaker 6: Right when and either the Colts or Texans losing and
- 22:06Speaker 6: you're in right and that's the first step. But the
- 22:09Speaker 6: number one seed thing, it does matter. All anybody's talked
- 22:14Speaker 6: about the last four or five weeks is how wide
- 22:16Speaker 6: open the AFC is, but it really is for all
- 22:19Speaker 6: these teams because there's no big bad wolf anymore. Like
- 22:23Speaker 6: in since ninety nine, every Jaguars playoff appearance has ended
- 22:28Speaker 6: against the big bad Wolf New England, New England, New
- 22:30Speaker 6: England and Kansas City. All those teams at the time
- 22:32Speaker 6: were the team you couldn't beat, and playoff experience does
- 22:36Speaker 6: matter in that situation. Anybody who was at any of
- 22:38Speaker 6: those games, you were at all four of them, you
- 22:40Speaker 6: probably felt that other team knows it's going to win.
- 22:43Speaker 6: It's been here before, nobody's really been here before and
- 22:46Speaker 6: made it. So the point is getting those seedings, getting
- 22:51Speaker 6: involved in this. It's going to be a free for all.
- 22:54Speaker 6: So get yourself in position the best position you can.
- 22:57Speaker 4: I know everyone's talking about the possibility of number one,
- 23:00Speaker 4: and considering where this team was last year, it's very
- 23:02Speaker 4: exciting to even think about that.
- 23:04Speaker 5: I'm more focused on what it.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Takes to get number three locked up, right, that means
- 23:08Speaker 4: a home playoff game because of the division title. And
- 23:11Speaker 4: with the Texans, they've won six in a row. They
- 23:14Speaker 4: are breathing down this team's next. They have the Raiders
- 23:16Speaker 4: at home this week. The Raiders, right guaranteed w for
- 23:20Speaker 4: the Texans, and it will probably be an impressive win
- 23:23Speaker 4: because the Raiders were just awful last week in Philadelphia.
- 23:26Speaker 4: All right, Well the heat's on now, right, and so
- 23:29Speaker 4: let's say you go and beat Denver in Denver.
- 23:31Speaker 5: Well, the next week, you still.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Have to go and beat the Colts a second time
- 23:35Speaker 4: in a couple of weeks.
- 23:36Speaker 5: And to be hard, yeah, it won't be easy.
- 23:38Speaker 4: To do, even with forty four year old Philip Rivers
- 23:42Speaker 4: putting the cane aside. Again, love Rivers, but come on, right,
- 23:46Speaker 4: So you have two really challenging games in a row
- 23:49Speaker 4: here before you get to the Titans at the end
- 23:51Speaker 4: of the season. It's not just one week, it's two.
- 23:54Speaker 4: And it's not the number one seed. It's the number
- 23:56Speaker 4: three that matters for this football team right.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Now, meaningful game in December and soon January. So a
- 24:02Speaker 1: lot of good stuff and we're excited for it. We'll
- 24:05Speaker 1: be back on Jagsam on Tuesdays. We get back late
- 24:07Speaker 1: from Denver, but enjoy this matchup on Sunday. It's gonna
- 24:09Speaker 1: be a fun one. We'll talk to you next week.
