Latest / The Reverse Aging Club with Meredith Oke / 120: Oksana Hansen - From Corporate To Quantum Wellness: Creating The Life You Want To Live
Transcript
- 5:04Meredith Oke: All right. Oksana Hansen. Super excited to have
- 5:08you on. You were just saying that you were, like,
- 5:11I was saying, an OG Applied Quantum Biology
- 5:16certified practitioner. You're like, I was an
- 5:18early adopter. Came in back when we. Right around
- 5:23when we first launched in 2022.
- 5:27Oksana Hanson: Yeah. It's been quite the journey. Thanks so much
- 5:29for having me on today.
- 5:31Meredith Oke: Oh, it's my total pleasure. I'm really looking
- 5:34forward to hearing your story and hearing how you
- 5:38landed in a certification for Applied Quantum
- 5:42Biology when you started out in sales and tech as
- 5:47an executive in San Francisco. That's quite the
- 5:51trajectory. I love it. Yeah. So tell us your
- 5:55story, because, you know, it's. You've made a lot
- 6:00of leaps, and I think it's really helpful for
- 6:04people to hear how. How those leaps happened and
- 6:08what could be possible for them and be able to
- 6:11relate. So you were an executive in the San
- 6:16Francisco Bay area. You were married. Did you
- 6:19have children at the time?
- 6:21Oksana Hanson: So is it okay if we start a little bit earlier
- 6:24than that?
- 6:25Meredith Oke: Because.
- 6:26Oksana Hanson: Yeah. Is that okay, Please?
- 6:28Meredith Oke: Absolutely. Take us where we need to go to get
- 6:31the full, full trajectory.
- 6:36Oksana Hanson: So I was born and raised in Russia, and my family
- 6:40immigrated to the United states in late 1991. And
- 6:44it was because my mother had a very rare form of
- 6:47cancer called osteosarcoma, and it was in her
- 6:51jaw. It had moved up to her brain. And so from,
- 6:55like, the age of seven on, my life was filled
- 6:58with doctors, visits, hospitals, surgeries. Like,
- 7:03it was like this life kind of began without me
- 7:07even knowing it. And, of course, because my
- 7:10mother was only 30 years old at the time, like, I
- 7:14just assumed, and I thought that's what happens.
- 7:17Like, people in my family, they get cancer, they
- 7:19die early. My mom's mom had died at 50. So, like,
- 7:23I just set out on this course thinking, like, I'm
- 7:26not going to have a long life. Like, I might as
- 7:28well enjoy it because, you know, did there was.
- 7:31Meredith Oke: Did your mother survive or. No.
- 7:34Oksana Hanson: She did. Yeah. So it was one of the craziest
- 7:37cancer, like, surgeries that they did. They still
- 7:40have, like, all over her files. Do not delete any
- 7:42of this. Like, it's insane. But they basically
- 7:45ended up removing the entire right side of her
- 7:47face. So, yeah, so they, like, peeled off the
- 7:52skin and dug everything out. All the tissue, all
- 7:55the bone, her eye, like, her palette. Like, I
- 7:58mean, everything from the brain down, she ended
- 8:01up having. Honestly, I've lost count at this
- 8:03point. It's probably in the upwards of, like, 30
- 8:06different surgeries. She's still alive today.
- 8:09It's a miraculous, miraculous story. But really,
- 8:13like, it's funny because my journey kind of
- 8:17started with that initiation, like as a very,
- 8:19very small child.
- 8:20Meredith Oke: Yeah.
- 8:21Oksana Hanson: Being thrown into the, this world of sickness,
- 8:24doctor care, surgeries and all these other things
- 8:28which I'm so grateful for. Right. Like we talk
- 8:30about like in the alternative world, like those
- 8:32are the situations where like you want that kind
- 8:36of standard of care. But since then, and this was
- 8:40like 30 plus odd years ago, you know, her health
- 8:44has taken a big degradation. And so as being her
- 8:47healthcare advocate and going through my own
- 8:49journey, which I'll share in a second, like I've
- 8:52learned, like we need people to advoc for like
- 8:55our own healthcare journeys and also be there for
- 8:57other people's like in their healthcare journey
- 9:00to advocate for them as well. And when I say
- 9:03healthcare, I just mean health, not the actual,
- 9:05you know. You know what I mean? Yes, yes.
- 9:10Meredith Oke: You need someone on the inside with paying
- 9:13attention.
- 9:14Oksana Hanson: Yes.
- 9:15Meredith Oke: Asking every step of the way, is this the best
- 9:18thing to do? Is this in the best interest of my
- 9:22mother or my. Whoever it is? Yeah, absolutely. So
- 9:27that is something that I've seen happen. You
- 9:29probably did too, you know, in your experience.
- 9:31Yeah. You where you end up with multiple
- 9:33specialists and multiple doctors and everyone's
- 9:37got a different drug or a different intervention.
- 9:40And it's like who's thinking about the person,
- 9:45not just the patient.
- 9:47Oksana Hanson: And the way like I like to describe my experience
- 9:50with my mom is there was a bunch of silos. So
- 9:52there she had like oncology, she had the
- 9:55radiation, she had, you know, the surgeons, she
- 9:58had the ear, nose, throat doctor, she had the
- 10:00brain tumor doctor, she had this doc. Right.
- 10:02Like, so there's so many people, but it was like
- 10:04there was no one person looking at the whole
- 10:06picture. So like you'd get prescribed a
- 10:08medication that was having this other side
- 10:10effect. Well then this other specialist is trying
- 10:11to deal with the side effect and then they're
- 10:13issued another specialist to deal with that side
- 10:15effect. And like it was just such a cluster of
- 10:19information, pills, surgeries, half of which I
- 10:23think were unnecessary really. But that's not
- 10:27what we're talking about here. But anyhow, so I
- 10:35kind of went on with my life when I moved out of
- 10:37the house, married my husband, moved to the San
- 10:39Francisco Bay area, was working for tech
- 10:42startups, like Loving Life, like going out
- 10:46entertaining clients, like living it up. And like
- 10:50from the outside perspective, like everybody
- 10:52thought that I had this like perfect life. And my
- 10:57husband and I decided that we would Wanted to
- 10:59raise a family and have children. Well, it took
- 11:02me about two and a half years to conceive. And so
- 11:05that was really, like, my first sign that I was
- 11:07like, huh, okay, maybe this lifestyle is, like,
- 11:10the late nights. You know, I was working 24 by 7.
- 11:15It was one of these, like, in. In this industry
- 11:17where you needed to respond within, like, two
- 11:20minutes of somebody sending you an email. It's
- 11:22high stress. I was in sales, so, of course you're
- 11:25being held to quotas. And, you know, it was just
- 11:28that crazy kind of lifestyle. But because we
- 11:31didn't have children, we kind of got accustomed
- 11:33to that, and, like, we thought it was our norm,
- 11:36right? And so I was finally able to conceive, and
- 11:42we had our kids back to back. Because I always
- 11:45think, like, oh, once the body knows what it's
- 11:47doing and you're healthy enough, like, you talk
- 11:50about getting pregnant and you're pregnant again.
- 11:52So, yeah, our kids. Our kids are very close
- 11:56together, which is so amazing. And we decided
- 12:00that somehow, like, it felt like the Bay Area was
- 12:04no longer. It had lost its luster. After we had
- 12:07kids, we thought, why are we raising our kids
- 12:10here? And one of the biggest reasons we moved
- 12:13across country to Nashville, Tennessee, was
- 12:15because we thought, okay, we're raising our
- 12:18children in an area where one, they're going to
- 12:21have to be, you know, in sales and investment
- 12:24banker or, you know, one of, like, only a handful
- 12:27of things, like, you know, an entrepreneur with a
- 12:30startup or something to get funding. Like, there
- 12:33was only a handful of things that they could do
- 12:35outside of, like, marrying into a relationship
- 12:38that was financially, like, supportive for them
- 12:40or, like, we would have to support them for the
- 12:42rest of their lives. And we wanted to, like, it
- 12:44was really important for us.
- 12:45Meredith Oke: Is it so expensive out there? Is that what you're
- 12:47saying? Like, it's just so impossible.
- 12:50Oksana Hanson: Yeah, it's impossible to live unless you're. I
- 12:53mean, my husband had guys working for him that
- 12:58were, like, six to eight people to an apartment.
- 13:01These guys were making, like, several hundred
- 13:02thousand dollars a year, right? So, like, we
- 13:05didn't want to put our kids in that type of
- 13:07position where they had to stay in a situation
- 13:09that wasn't, like, natural to them and kind of
- 13:13give them the world of opportunity. So I think
- 13:16the biggest decision that we made was moving
- 13:19across country, but the decision I didn't make at
- 13:23that point that I should have was to get out of
- 13:26technology sales. And I did it because it was
- 13:29great money. I was really good at it. Moving to
- 13:34Nashville, especially, like, it was just easy for
- 13:37me to make that transition. And so we knew we
- 13:40wanted like a slower lifestyle. We wanted to
- 13:42raise our kids in a place that felt more aligned
- 13:45with us. But we didn't make a change when it came
- 13:49to what we were doing for a living. And that's
- 13:53when I got diagnosed with my child.
- 13:54Meredith Oke: I will say that's a tough call. You know, if
- 13:56you're supporting your family, it does. It's not
- 13:59top of mind to change jobs and. But you were, you
- 14:03had noticed. So starting with your. You had
- 14:06difficulty conceiving and then you were you
- 14:09having other health symptoms? That's as well.
- 14:15Oksana Hanson: Well, and I think what's interesting is we know
- 14:18the choice to move. Yeah, yeah. It was, you know,
- 14:21like there was definitely like weight gain,
- 14:24insomnia, there was like adrenal fatigue, there
- 14:27was all these other factors. But everyone just
- 14:29said, like, you're a first time mom or like you
- 14:32have a newborn at home or you're breastfeeding,
- 14:34like if you're up every two hours, of course
- 14:36you're tired. Of course. And somehow all these
- 14:40things, like in my mind became normal. Like it
- 14:43was normal to gain weight. It was normal to just
- 14:47be a walking zombie living off of coffee. It was
- 14:50normal to have a glass of wine at night to relax
- 14:53because that's what everybody does. Right. Like,
- 14:55and it kind of gets you into these habits of
- 14:57like, you think that's what everybody else is
- 15:00doing and it gets very normalized.
- 15:04Meredith Oke: Yeah, I think that's a, that's a big one. Is. And
- 15:07you know, I had a similar experience. We, we have
- 15:11kind of forgotten as a culture what it's like to
- 15:15feel really good and that it's okay to feel
- 15:17really good. And we've like layered on all of
- 15:20these different assaults on our biology. So of
- 15:23course we don't feel good, but nobody really
- 15:25does. So like, what's the big deal? It's. Yeah.
- 15:29And then, and then in order to feel good, that
- 15:32there are choices that need to be made. So. Okay,
- 15:35so keep going. So you. Okay, so you had some
- 15:39awareness that your health wasn't great, but it
- 15:42was like, oh, well, no, it's fine. Like I'm busy,
- 15:45I'm a mom. It's like I'm supposed to feel tired
- 15:48and zombie like all the time, which is what they
- 15:52tell us. And then 30 years later they tell us
- 15:55we're supposed to feel like that because we're
- 15:56not moms anymore, we're getting older. Like, it's
- 16:00like, okay, we're still moms, but we're not. You
- 16:03know, it's like every stage of life, it's. There
- 16:05seems to be a reason why we're supposed to feel
- 16:07gross and terrible and crappy. I reject it.
- 16:11Oksana Hanson: I say, not in my world.
- 16:15Meredith Oke: Not in our world. Okay, so you get to Nashville,
- 16:20which is an improvement in many ways, but you're
- 16:24still not feeling great, and you're still in high
- 16:26stress drop.
- 16:28Oksana Hanson: Yeah. And I think, okay, this is the year that
- 16:31I'm 35 years old. I'm going to take control of my
- 16:34health. I have no excuses. My kids are like,
- 16:36three and four at this age. Like, okay, no more
- 16:40mom bod. Like, I'm gonna start walking every day.
- 16:44Like, I don't know why I chose walking. Don't
- 16:46know why I didn't go to the gym. Don't know why I
- 16:48didn't do a million, like, take Pilates class. I
- 16:50don't know. Like, I was just like, I'm gonna
- 16:51start walking every day. So I put my headphones
- 16:54in, slathered on that sunblock, and went outside
- 16:59for my.
- 17:00Meredith Oke: Because you're in Tennessee. You got to be spfed
- 17:03to the max every time you leave the house.
- 17:06Oksana Hanson: To the max. Yep.
- 17:08Meredith Oke: Okay.
- 17:09Oksana Hanson: And I start noticing a growth on my leg. And, you
- 17:14know, I was one of these people where I saw a
- 17:16dermatologist twice a year, was very religious
- 17:19about it, did everything that the dermatologists
- 17:22told me to do. I had a big spot removed, like,
- 17:25this size, big, black, brown spot on my back when
- 17:28I was 12 years old. And so I'd been under a care
- 17:31of a dermatologist because of my mom's history
- 17:34with cancer. We were kind of amplified in our
- 17:38approach when it came to our, you know, health.
- 17:41And so I was like, man, I don't know what that
- 17:45growth is, but I need to go find a dermatologist
- 17:48that's local. And I go get a checkup. She's like,
- 17:53you're fine. We'll take a biopsy. And then you
- 17:56get that dreaded call that's like, you need to
- 17:57come in tomorrow at 7am to see the doctor. And I
- 18:02was like, well, we know that that's not good news
- 18:06when they're having you come in, like, first
- 18:08thing in the morning. And so my husband and I
- 18:12went in, and that's when I got told that I was
- 18:16diagnosed with melanoma. And from the second that
- 18:20they said that, Meredith, like, I was like, this
- 18:22doesn't make sense. I've been under the care of a
- 18:25dermatologist seen twice a year, every year since
- 18:29I was 12. I'm 35 years old. How did I get
- 18:33diagnosed with melanoma? And to me, like, and
- 18:35doing everything.
- 18:36Meredith Oke: That they said, everything. All their
- 18:40instructions.
- 18:43Oksana Hanson: And I'd made such improvements, like, in my
- 18:46health and my weight. And I was walking every
- 18:50day. I was spending time outside, and I was like,
- 18:54this doesn't make sense. I thought this was a
- 18:55disease, you know, And I'm sorry if this is
- 18:57offensive, but, like, old white men got, like. I
- 19:00thought that they got it on their face. And,
- 19:02like, I didn't know anything else about skin
- 19:04cancer at that point. And so without being, like,
- 19:10rushed to fear, I was like, I'm going on vacation
- 19:13with my family in a couple weeks. Like, let's
- 19:16talk about the treatment options. But I'm
- 19:18definitely not going to start anything until I'm
- 19:20back from this vacation 30 days from now. And I
- 19:24think they were shocked, like, that I wasn't
- 19:26gonna, like, rush into making any, like,
- 19:29treatment decisions right away. And this is when
- 19:34I felt, like, most empowered out of, like, any
- 19:37time I ever have in my life, because this will to
- 19:39live for my children was greater than any
- 19:42diagnosis that I could get. And I started doing
- 19:46my own research, and I go to pubmed for the first
- 19:49time in my life, and I found a study that said,
- 19:55in melanoma, in particular, because of its
- 19:59irregular borders, you should be cutting around
- 20:0210 millimeters around the cancer. And I went to
- 20:06my surgeon, and I said to her, can we have a
- 20:08conversation about this? How much are you
- 20:10planning to cut off? And she said, between 4 to 5
- 20:12millimeters. And I said, here, can you please
- 20:15read this study? And, like, I'm a married woman.
- 20:19I don't care what it looks like. I have young
- 20:21babies. Like, I need you to cut more than you
- 20:24think is even necessary. Like, I want you. Like,
- 20:27if we're going to do this, like, let's make sure
- 20:29we get all of the cancer. And so I ended up just
- 20:33having the surgery, no other treatment done,
- 20:36because I was like, okay, this is how we're going
- 20:38to handle this situation. I went into the
- 20:41solution mode, like, at that point to survive.
- 20:44And again, this was, like, very much I'm still in
- 20:47that conventional mindset. Like, hadn't really
- 20:50had, like, my awakening to everything that is
- 20:54going on and somehow still was very clear and in
- 21:01my approach to how I wanted to do this treatment,
- 21:04because I'd seen my mom go through chemo. I'd
- 21:06seen my mom go through radiation. I wasn't going
- 21:09to put myself or my family through that. It was
- 21:11awful. Like, I Didn't want to repeat that
- 21:15generational cycle of putting my children through
- 21:18that kind of trauma. And thankfully, I came
- 21:25across Quantum Biology Collective. So. So I was
- 21:28having my follow up visits, and at that point, I
- 21:31think it's either monthly, every other month,
- 21:33like it was very often for the first two years.
- 21:37And she kept saying to me, like, you need wear
- 21:39sunblock. You need to cover up, you need to not
- 21:41go outside. And I was like, this doesn't make
- 21:44sense. And if you remember, probably like a year
- 21:48after that diagnosis that I had, they recalled
- 21:52Oxybenzone sunblock off the market for causing
- 21:56cancer. And so I went under my cabinet and I
- 22:02pulled out this, what I thought was organic
- 22:05Australian sunblock. And the first ingredient was
- 22:08Oxybenzone. And I thought to myself, I was making
- 22:12this healthy change of moving to Nashville,
- 22:15walking for three miles a day outside, but I was
- 22:17slathering on this toxic stuff, which I think,
- 22:22you know, along with lifestyle things and, you
- 22:26know, seed oils and other things that we now know
- 22:28can, you know, are correlated with the skin
- 22:31cancer. But I was slathering on sunblock every
- 22:37single day. And I truly think that was one of the
- 22:41major contributing factors. Wow.
- 22:45Meredith Oke: That is so interesting because you started the
- 22:50walking practice. Walking is outside. You are a
- 22:53diligent patient of lifelong dermatology and
- 22:59doing everything you can to prevent cancer. So
- 23:02you started using this sunscreen every day, and
- 23:08then you ended up with that diagnosis. Wow, okay.
- 23:15Oksana Hanson: And thankfully, it was in a location where I
- 23:17personally saw it. Right. Like, one of the
- 23:19biggest things with, like, melanoma is, you know,
- 23:22men get it on their back, you know, like, or in
- 23:28their private areas. Which, again, like, I. I
- 23:31look at those things and I'm like, that doesn't
- 23:33make sense. Like, why would someone get skin
- 23:36cancer in a place that doesn't see the sun?
- 23:38Right? Like, breast cancer is one of the most
- 23:40prevalent, like, CANC answers we have today.
- 23:43Like, I just wonder. I'm like, that's
- 23:46interesting, right? So as I came across the
- 23:50Quantum Biology Collective and your message, it
- 23:56was the first time in my entire life that I was
- 23:59like, wow, the sun gives life to everything on
- 24:04Earth. Of course we don't need to be scared of
- 24:07the sun. Like, it was the first time that I heard
- 24:10something that actually made sense to me. I'm
- 24:13like, okay, I don't know anything about quantum
- 24:17biology health. Like, I didn't have a science
- 24:20background. Like, my degree was in philosophy. So
- 24:23all I knew was really like, how to question any
- 24:26argument and use logic. And to me, like, this
- 24:29Came, it came so easily because of, I think my
- 24:33background with my mom's cancer, being around
- 24:36surgeries, being around doctors, asking all the
- 24:38questions, being around that industry for so
- 24:42long, it felt like everything that like I had
- 24:46experienced led up to this. Like, now I know what
- 24:50my purpose is in life, and that is to teach
- 24:52people the actual healing ways of this planet.
- 24:57Because had I had not, hadn't had those
- 25:00experiences and maybe get diagnosed with cancer
- 25:02at 35 and just have the surgery and have it
- 25:05removed and move on with my life, I wouldn't be
- 25:07where I am today.
- 25:11Meredith Oke: Wow, that's amazing. And I like, I love that you
- 25:16heard, you heard the message and I love that
- 25:20philosophy is very practical. You were trained to
- 25:26seek truth, to under recognize it, and to ask
- 25:29questions about, of things that don't make sense.
- 25:33And you are in the perfect position. That's
- 25:36amazing. So did you quit your job?
- 25:45Oksana Hanson: Yes. So at the end of, because that.
- 25:49Meredith Oke: Is a big deal. And I, you know, I, I, I don't
- 25:53like, you know, just saying, like, ah, you got to
- 25:55move to the equator. Ah, you got to quit your
- 25:56job. Like, these are big important life changes.
- 25:58So if you did quit your job, that is a huge
- 26:02decision I'd love to dig into a little because.
- 26:05Oksana Hanson: Yeah, so within, within six months, I was no
- 26:08longer employed at that firm. And, and then I had
- 26:13some time to, really had about a year to figure
- 26:16out what I wanted to do with my life. And that
- 26:20was when Covid hit. And so, you know, the whole
- 26:25universe kind of changed. And I think now that I
- 26:30was like, empowered of like, questioning
- 26:33everything. I was like, oh, I don't have to
- 26:36think, take things at face value. I can do my own
- 26:40research. I may not have a ton of experience in
- 26:43this stuff, but I can read, you know, studies and
- 26:47information and decipher and really like, trust
- 26:51that intuition. Like, I guess that's the one
- 26:53thing that we haven't really touched on is
- 26:56there's a lot of like, trusting yourself and the
- 26:59guidance that you're getting from God, the
- 27:02universe, whatever you want to call it, that I
- 27:06had drowned that voice for a long time and now it
- 27:11was amplified. It was like, you're empowered.
- 27:14Just take the time to like, slow down and listen.
- 27:18And all of a sudden I was getting like, very,
- 27:20very, very clear messages unlike anything that
- 27:23I've ever done before. And also had the strength
- 27:26to back up my stance on those, on those messages
- 27:31and the preferences. I was like, I'm no longer
- 27:33saying yes just to be a people pleaser or for it
- 27:36to be convenient. Like, I need to protect my
- 27:39energy, my family's energy, and. And things just
- 27:43kind of started falling into place. Some most
- 27:47powerful word in the English language is no.
- 27:52Meredith Oke: I love it. It's so true. And it's. It's hard. You
- 27:59don't realize how many little tentacles and
- 28:02threads of energy, connective tissue that we feel
- 28:07responsible for. And we feel like that no might.
- 28:12I'm trying to articulate my experience when I say
- 28:15no. Yeah. And it's feels like I'm going to sever
- 28:19them all, and then I'll be, you know, everyone's
- 28:23going to be harmed or something. And. Yeah. I
- 28:26just had a situation where I had to make a choice
- 28:27about something, and I ended up saying no. And it
- 28:30was like. Like, oh. I mean, when it came time to
- 28:36do it, it was easy, but, like, getting to.
- 28:38Getting to the decision was it's a process. And I
- 28:42appreciate you bringing that up because sometimes
- 28:45we tell our stories and we're like, oh, then I
- 28:46did this and then I did that, and it's like,
- 28:48yeah, but cultivating the internal fortitude and
- 28:53intuition to come to those decisions is no small
- 28:56thing.
- 28:59Oksana Hanson: Well, and I. I think, because I am very logical
- 29:02and practical, too. So it's like, I love to
- 29:04philosophize, but I love to like, okay, how could
- 29:07we make this into a. Something you can actually
- 29:10implement? So what we did in our family is we put
- 29:13up a whiteboard and we said, what are our family
- 29:16ethics and values? And for two weeks, we left
- 29:20this whiteboard up. And anytime you thought of a
- 29:23value that was important to you, you would go and
- 29:26write it up on this board. And after the two
- 29:30weeks was done, the four of us had written a lot
- 29:32of different things, but what I noticed was a lot
- 29:35of similar themes. And how old were children?
- 29:39Meredith Oke: But just curious, when you did this exercise.
- 29:43Oksana Hanson: Maybe seven and eight. Okay. So I love it. Yeah.
- 29:47Meredith Oke: So you're all in there. People, they would just
- 29:49have an idea, they walk by, they'd write up, you
- 29:52jot it up.
- 29:53Oksana Hanson: Like adventure, fun. Right. Friends, love. Right.
- 29:59All the different things. We had so many things,
- 30:01but I noticed certain themes. And so what I did
- 30:05was I narrowed down all the things that were
- 30:07written on this whiteboard to five key
- 30:10principles. And I had an artist make a custom
- 30:14artwork for me, and we hang it up right outside
- 30:18of our garage door. So we look at it every time
- 30:21we exit and enter our house, and this is our way
- 30:25that we make decisions. If it does not meet three
- 30:29out of the five core values for the Hansen,
- 30:32Family values. The answer is an automatic no.
- 30:36Meredith Oke: Oh, my gosh, that's so good. And I love that
- 30:41because I do feel a little bit of your corporate
- 30:43background coming into play. Right. Like, this
- 30:45is, like, totally, like, a strategic planning
- 30:48exercise. I've been there. Yes, but why not apply
- 30:52it to the family? That's brilliant.
- 30:55Oksana Hanson: Right? Everybody's needs and values get heard
- 30:59like they're overlapping themes. We all agree on
- 31:02that. It doesn't mean can't get revisited. Maybe
- 31:05we revisit it now, but, like, you know, ours is
- 31:08like, health, community, love, safety. Right. And
- 31:13adventure. And if, like, those are the things
- 31:16that are valuable to us right now. And there.
- 31:18It's really easy when you apply this principle to
- 31:21say yes or no to things, because at the end of
- 31:23the day, it's not personal. But if I don't feel,
- 31:25like, safe or if I don't feel, like loved or in
- 31:27community, like, it's going to be a no. And
- 31:30that's because it's not aligning with my core
- 31:32value. And so you can kind of take, like, that
- 31:36spiritual aspect and apply it, like, practically
- 31:39to your everyday life.
- 31:41Meredith Oke: Absolutely. I love this. This is. I'm. This,
- 31:45like, yeah, I'm the same way. I'm like, okay, but
- 31:47what is, like, what does this mean in. In the
- 31:49real terms? And these. Yeah. Sort of ethereal,
- 31:54like, oh, my intuition and this and that. No, it
- 31:56can be extremely practical, and I. I like to
- 31:59coach people about that with their too. And it's
- 32:02like, this is your business. So if it doesn't
- 32:04align, like, if you. If. If you get nauseous
- 32:07going on social media, then let's build a
- 32:09strategy where you don't need to do that. Right.
- 32:11Like, it's. You're allowed to craft the
- 32:15experience that you want to have in this world,
- 32:17and that is living in alignment with who you are
- 32:20and your. What you want. And that's. And which is
- 32:24an extremely practical way forward. Love it. What
- 32:30a beautiful thing to do for your family and. And
- 32:33to show your children how to do that. I love that.
- 32:36Oksana Hanson: Thank you. Well, I think it's just showing up and
- 32:39telling them it's okay to say no. It's okay to
- 32:42question things. Like, I want to raise
- 32:45independent thinkers. I want them to learn how to
- 32:48think, not to memorize things, which is why I
- 32:51homeschool my children. And, you know, you come
- 32:55across my kids, they can look you in the eye,
- 32:57they can have a conversation with you. Like,
- 33:00they're, you know, they're wild and free. They,
- 33:03like, we have a couple Acres at our lake house.
- 33:05And they're like, climbing the trees in the
- 33:07forest, building forts and doing all these
- 33:09things. Like, they're the happiest kids. Like, I,
- 33:12I look at that. And I was like, my whole journey
- 33:15was worth it just so my children can be children
- 33:19and have this amazing childhood that maybe I
- 33:24didn't get to experience, but I get to, like,
- 33:26live vicariously through them. Like seeing how
- 33:28carefree and happy and wild they are. Yeah.
- 33:32Meredith Oke: Oh, that's amazing. I know. There's nothing,
- 33:36nothing brings joy like watching children be
- 33:41children, especially outside. Right. Like, it's,
- 33:45there's just. I don't know. It is truly one of
- 33:49the most joyful experiences, experiences a person
- 33:51can have. I think watching children, like, run
- 33:55around and climb trees and jump in the water and
- 33:58just enjoy, Enjoy their childhood. And I love
- 34:03too, because you know what I'm also hearing? It's
- 34:07like, I think sometimes we feel afraid to change
- 34:11tracks in life or we are changing tracks and we
- 34:14feel like, I don't know anything about this new.
- 34:17You know, I'm doing this instead of that. And so
- 34:20I'm starting from zero. And what I hear that you
- 34:23did that I really like to remind people is that
- 34:25there are always transferable skills and
- 34:29experiences. Right. And I'm hearing you, like,
- 34:32take some really great stuff from your years in
- 34:35corporate life. And like, I, for me, it's like
- 34:38God or our higher power will, like, take whatever
- 34:40you have to offer and make it relevant and useful
- 34:46in this, in this, in the new path. And I notice
- 34:51you doing that. I love it.
- 34:53Oksana Hanson: Well, I think, I think if I were to hear what you
- 34:56said is like, you can always reinvent yourself.
- 34:59It's never too late. Right? Like, so our path
- 35:04isn't predetermined. Like, you have free will.
- 35:07And so I think the biggest thing that most people
- 35:12have a fear about, and I had this fear too, until
- 35:15a few years ago, is the fear of being really
- 35:18seen. And.
- 35:20Meredith Oke: Yeah.
- 35:22Oksana Hanson: And I. And I think, well, why is that? Well, am I
- 35:27living authentically? Am I living my life
- 35:29honestly? Right? Am I living my life with
- 35:34integrity? Meaning, like, how I feel on the
- 35:37inside. I'm living outwardly. Right? Like, so
- 35:39being a people pleaser like that to me is the
- 35:41definition of maybe not living with integrity.
- 35:44Right? You're making yourself small. I played
- 35:48small for a really long time because I didn't
- 35:51want to make other people feel uncomfortable.
- 35:54Like, that wasn't me living with integrity. And
- 35:57once I kind of flipped that switch of that fear
- 36:00of being seen, I was like, I deserve to be loved.
- 36:06Every single person in this universe deserves to
- 36:09be loved. But I deserve to be loved for who I am,
- 36:12not who I'm pretending to be. So as a people
- 36:15pleaser, like, that wasn't the true and honest
- 36:18and authentic me. And so if I deserve love, true
- 36:23love, I have to show who I am. And with that
- 36:29really came a lot of strength to make some of
- 36:32these decisions in life. Of like, okay, if this
- 36:35is in alignment with me, I have to live with
- 36:37integrity. I have to say no.
- 36:41Meredith Oke: Yes. And then when we, I think that opens up us
- 36:47up to being able to receive that love and to be
- 36:51seen, because we know, oh, they're loving the
- 36:53real deal. They're not loving a version that I'm
- 36:56pretending to be to not make anyone mad or
- 36:59something. And so this, this inner growth, this
- 37:09spiritual growth came from and really an
- 37:14exploration into your physical health because
- 37:17it's all, it's all connected, right? Like, you
- 37:23didn't start out to have a spiritual awakening.
- 37:25You started out to make sure that you didn't get
- 37:28sick and that you didn't, you know, that you
- 37:31dealt with your cancer.
- 37:33Oksana Hanson: Well, I started following like, alternative
- 37:35health communities. And this was like all during
- 37:38COVID right? Like, and so this is several months
- 37:41after, like, Covid, I would say the summer right
- 37:43after Covid. And I was like, oh, cold, plunging.
- 37:47Oh, that's interesting. Oh, there's these people
- 37:49that are doing fasting. Okay, that's interesting.
- 37:53So I came across this like, spiritual community
- 37:55and they were like, come to this retreat. And I
- 37:58was like, okay, like, I'll go. And I show up and
- 38:01they're like, we're going to do a three hour
- 38:04breath work. Like a holotropic, like, breath
- 38:06work. And I was like, okay, I don't know what
- 38:08that is. And sure, like, I've had lots of trauma,
- 38:12right? I was like, yeah, I'll try it. I'll try
- 38:15anything. This isn't like popping a pill or
- 38:17taking a drug. Like, this was like a natural
- 38:20thing that you could do with your breath. And I
- 38:23had the most amazing journey. At first you're
- 38:26like doing it and you're like, I'm this,
- 38:28nothing's happening. I'm not doing it right. And
- 38:30then all of a sudden, like, there was this
- 38:32amazing vis that I had and literally life
- 38:37changing. Like, I picked up the phone and called
- 38:39my husband and I was like, okay, like, I got a
- 38:43very clear vision about what my mission is on
- 38:45this earth. And like, I need your support. Like,
- 38:48can we sit down and talk about it? And I remember
- 38:51flying home, and we sat down, we opened a bottle
- 38:54of wine, and we had the best conversation, I
- 38:56would say, like, we've been together 22 years
- 38:59now, like, of our entire relationship. It was
- 39:02like, that night, I was like, these are my hopes
- 39:04and my dreams. These are my goals. Like, this is
- 39:07the example I want to set for the kids. Like,
- 39:10this is an example, but I want to set to them,
- 39:12like, around love and family and community and
- 39:15all these things. And my husband was like, yes,
- 39:19like. And he shared his goals and dreams with me,
- 39:23and it was. It honestly felt like a recommitment,
- 39:28like, not only to ourselves, but to each other,
- 39:31because we are so supportive of each other's
- 39:33journeys. And that's when his journey started,
- 39:36too. And even though he wasn't going through the
- 39:39same, like, kind of personal growth and work that
- 39:41I was working on at that point, like, somehow it
- 39:45sparked something in him to start down his path
- 39:48and his journey. And together, like, it just felt
- 39:50like we were unstoppable.
- 39:54Meredith Oke: Oh, that's so beautiful and. And important. Like,
- 39:57it's. To have a partner who. Who gets it and who
- 40:02is on the ride with you makes a really big
- 40:07difference.
- 40:09Oksana Hanson: Yeah. And I'm like, okay, we're gonna homeschool
- 40:11the children. He's like, that's really scary, but
- 40:15okay. He's like, good for him.
- 40:22Meredith Oke: I'm going all the way. So how's that going?
- 40:31Oksana Hanson: So good. So good. And by the way, you question
- 40:37yourself the whole way. You're like, am I doing
- 40:39the right things? Like, and as the children get
- 40:43older and smarter and, you know, I just focus on
- 40:49knowing that you can learn lots and lots from
- 40:55reading books and information. But I also love to
- 40:58couple it with, like, experiential things. Like,
- 41:01for instance, this weekend was President's Day
- 41:05weekend, and so we went to New York City to see
- 41:09the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island, and we
- 41:12saw the play Hamilton. Right. Like, so it's.
- 41:15People think, like, homeschooling is like, you're
- 41:18sitting at a desk working all day long. Well,
- 41:20yes, that's part of it. You know, everybody needs
- 41:23to do math and be able to read and write at the
- 41:25end of the day. But, like, it doesn't have to be
- 41:29as difficult as you think it is in your head.
- 41:33Like, it. It's actually pretty simple.
- 41:37Meredith Oke: Yes, it's true. I interviewed a woman during
- 41:41COVID I did a little series when the lockdowns
- 41:43were happening, and all of a sudden, our kids
- 41:44were home all day. So I just, like, did Facebook
- 41:47lives with People who knew how to do that. And I
- 41:50interviewed this mom who homeschooled. I think
- 41:53she had like five children. And she was like,
- 41:55yeah, we, we do school from 9 till 12. And then
- 41:58they go outside.
- 42:00Oksana Hanson: Yeah.
- 42:00Meredith Oke: Like the older one goes fishing and the younger
- 42:03ones do this and they, you know, they had a big
- 42:05property and in a rural situation and it was just
- 42:09like, yeah. And they're like ahead of all of the
- 42:12milestones according to the, you know, where
- 42:14they're supposed to be from the state law of
- 42:17whatever. And I was like, oh, okay. That's
- 42:21actually. So I hear what you're saying. Like,
- 42:25yeah, you just do it. It's not school, but at
- 42:28home it's a different experience.
- 42:31Oksana Hanson: Well, and like we take light breaks, right. So we
- 42:37sit outside for sunrise every single morning, no
- 42:41matter like what the weather is outside. And we
- 42:44do our morning prayers together and reread
- 42:46together like as family. And then we go inside
- 42:49and we eat and we do a couple things and then we
- 42:52go for our barefoot walk like around the block.
- 42:55Then we do a couple, you know, a little bit more
- 42:57of work and then we go for our three mile family
- 43:00walk. Like it's, we're so circadian, like aligned
- 43:05now and we get the flexibility to do that as a
- 43:07family. And then like gymnastics and sports and
- 43:10other things that my kids are doing, they're
- 43:12doing that in the afternoon hours instead of the
- 43:14night hours. Right. Like, so they're home by 4 or
- 43:165. We're having dinner together, we're getting
- 43:19our blue blockers is on. We're spending that time
- 43:21together as family before bed. Like, I remember
- 43:25having them doing activities till like 8 o'clock
- 43:28at night. We'd all be cranky, exhausted, hungry.
- 43:31Like it was just, we were all going crazy. And
- 43:35for what? Like, when you're homeschool, you can
- 43:39have all the time that you want. You can put
- 43:41sports activities in the morning. You have so
- 43:43much flexibility to do what you want to do, to
- 43:47like align your schedule with like our circadian
- 43:50rhythm and how we're meant to like ancestrally
- 43:53live. Right?
- 43:55Meredith Oke: Oh, that's so good. Yeah, it's true. The, the
- 43:59scheduling is, you know, it's crazy. My. Yeah,
- 44:04I'm on a, A board in this school district and we
- 44:08meet once a month and I wear my glasses and no
- 44:12one says anything. My kids are like, oh God. But
- 44:17yeah, we leave some. Sometimes that meeting goes
- 44:19till 9pm and I'm leaving and like there's kids
- 44:22playing basketball and the moms are waiting
- 44:25outside in the hall and like, they're not done
- 44:27till 9:30 and.
- 44:29Oksana Hanson: Oh, my God, what?
- 44:33Meredith Oke: But yeah, it's, you know, when you're in school
- 44:36till 3:30 and then you have. Yeah. The way that
- 44:41our culture is set up, it's not. It's not
- 44:43optimized. So let's. Okay, so let's circle back
- 44:46to that because you. So you found the. The
- 44:49circadian biology world, the quantum biology
- 44:52world. And it's. You've, like, really integrated
- 44:59those principles into your life. So you've just
- 45:01told us a little bit about your day. Like, how
- 45:03did that start out for you? And how has your
- 45:06health been since. Since integrating a circadian
- 45:10optimized lifestyle?
- 45:13Oksana Hanson: I think the biggest change was my emotional
- 45:17health. And I know that's going to sound weird
- 45:19because we were just talking about the C word,
- 45:20cancer. But honestly, like, what I found was the
- 45:26biggest change was spending more time outside.
- 45:29Like, so I always tell people, I'm like, what can
- 45:31you do today outside? What can you do that you've
- 45:36planned today outside? So whether it's, you know,
- 45:39like doing a walking meeting with your boss
- 45:42outside instead of sitting, like, in the office,
- 45:45taking your coffee break outside. Like, where can
- 45:48you open a window? Right? Like, I felt this rush
- 45:53of energy when I started waking up with the sun.
- 45:56Like, I was one of these people that always used
- 45:58an alarm clock, was staying up super, super late,
- 46:02had insomnia. I would always wake up between 2
- 46:04and 3 in the morning. And all of a sudden we
- 46:08started watching the sunrise and blocking blue
- 46:10light at night. And all of a sudden I was like a
- 46:12different person. It was like, okay, well,
- 46:15obviously being out in the sunlight makes me feel
- 46:17good, so I want more of that. Like, right, you
- 46:21get that dopamine rush and you're like, more of
- 46:24what feels good. Okay, Being out in the sun feels
- 46:26good. So all of a sudden, I'm tanning my skin
- 46:29again, and we're buying a lake house so we could
- 46:32spend more time outside barefoot, in the woods
- 46:35and in the water. And I mean, it was this cascade
- 46:39of, okay, we can build our. We can build our
- 46:44perfect life. Like, we can literally build a life
- 46:47around how we want to live. And somehow I think
- 46:52living in California would have never given us
- 46:54that freedom. But making that big change, moving
- 46:57to Nashville, all of a sudden, we're like, oh, we
- 47:00could do anything. Like, it felt like this
- 47:03permission to make whatever life decisions we
- 47:07wanted. Like, I don't know. I know that sounds
- 47:09kind of weird, huh? It kind of sounds weird.
- 47:11Meredith Oke: No, that makes total sense. And I think it's
- 47:15another really important point to bring up is
- 47:18that, yeah, we feel like if this is the way
- 47:21things are, this is the way things have to be.
- 47:24And it's like whether it's in our, the way our
- 47:27lives are structured, our businesses are
- 47:29structured. Yeah. We are the architects. We can
- 47:34redesign anything at any moment. And if it feels
- 47:38impossible where we are, like, okay, well maybe,
- 47:40maybe it's somewhere else, but it's possible.
- 47:44Like all the things are possible. And I love that
- 47:50you leaned into that and made it real.
- 47:54Oksana Hanson: Yeah. And what's funny is. So my husband was very
- 47:57skeptical. He's like, like skin type one, right.
- 48:02He's like red beard, very blonde hair, very
- 48:05white, see through skin. And he was like, how are
- 48:09we not going to wear sunblock? And I'm like,
- 48:12we're just going to test this. Like, we're going
- 48:14to, you know, watch the sunrise. We're gonna go
- 48:17for our UVA walk every morning. Right. Our body
- 48:20has all these internal processes. Right. To
- 48:22protect you from the sun. We're gonna, we're
- 48:24gonna listen to this information and we're gonna
- 48:26test it. So I remember it was like 101 degrees.
- 48:30We were at this water park. It was black asphalt,
- 48:33it was so hot outside. Our two kids are very,
- 48:38very fair skinned as well. And he goes, we're not
- 48:41putting on some block today. And I'm like, like,
- 48:43nope. I go, but any sign of us, like getting pink
- 48:46or red? Like, we'll get, you know, we'll take a
- 48:48little break or whatnot. We spent all day at this
- 48:51water park, Meredith. We were going to bed that
- 48:54night. My husband goes, I cannot believe we're
- 48:56not burnt to the crisp. And I'm like, huh, isn't
- 49:00that funny? Isn't that funny?
- 49:03Meredith Oke: Like that interesting.
- 49:07Oksana Hanson: And that. Yeah.
- 49:09Meredith Oke: Building up your ability to be in the sun over,
- 49:11over time. Your skin was preconditioned. You knew
- 49:14how to do sensible sun exposure. And it's like
- 49:18four super fair skinned people, even a redhead.
- 49:22Oksana Hanson: Yeah.
- 49:22Meredith Oke: Outside all day and it's like, you're fine.
- 49:27Oksana Hanson: Yeah. It was just, it was this proof of like,
- 49:30okay, this stuff is not like, woo, woo. This
- 49:34stuff is real. Like we're testing it on
- 49:37ourselves. We feel the best we've ever felt.
- 49:41We're in the greatest shape of our life. Like,
- 49:43and I feel so fulfilled too. Like emotionally,
- 49:47spiritually fulfilled of like teaching this
- 49:50information to other people. There's nothing that
- 49:53brings me more joy than talking about this and
- 49:56meeting all the interesting people in our
- 49:58community. Like you and I were talking about
- 50:00before. We started this podcast is like, it is
- 50:04some of the best people in this community. Like,
- 50:07everyone's so loving and supportive and so
- 50:09passionate about what they do. It's just the best.
- 50:14Meredith Oke: Yeah, it's really, it's really amazing. It's like
- 50:17when you, you know, because, yeah, I've made some
- 50:21choices to veer off the, off the main path. And
- 50:25it's like once you do and you're off, you know,
- 50:29on your tangent, then you're surrounded by other
- 50:31people who also made that choice. And so there's
- 50:35a sense of freedom, I think, amongst people who,
- 50:40you know, because they're like, yeah, I did the
- 50:44weird thing, I did the hard thing. And like, here
- 50:46I am. It's all fine. And yeah, we have like a
- 50:49bigger purpose guiding us, you know, and we're
- 50:55all, we're all like on the same page with that.
- 50:59And so I love. Because so now what's coming to
- 51:02fruition on your journey with this is an in
- 51:05person retreat which is coming up June 2025 in
- 51:11Tennessee. So you and Carrie Bennett have put
- 51:15this together. Like, tell us about that, how it
- 51:17came to be, what it's going to be like.
- 51:21Oksana Hanson: Yeah, so I think after Covid, we were all kind of
- 51:24craving that human connection. And this QVC was
- 51:28just such a small community and we had known all
- 51:31these people and built these friendships and
- 51:33relationships, but yet never met anybody in
- 51:35person. And so I was up in the Detroit area
- 51:42seeing an explant specialist to get my implants
- 51:44taken out and I was like, carrie, I'm close to
- 51:47you. I'm going to come by and let's have a
- 51:50coffee. And her and I got talking. It was so
- 51:52great because we'd known each other for a couple
- 51:54years now, and we're like, we've never seen each
- 51:58other in person. And I go, man, just feels like
- 52:01we need to put some kind of event together to
- 52:04have everybody in the same place. And as we all
- 52:07know, like, we are energetically connected. I'm
- 52:10like, we. How magical would it be if we all came
- 52:14together like in person? And that's where this
- 52:18idea of this in person retreat came to be. And we
- 52:24spent like a really good six months, like,
- 52:27looking for the perfect location that was like
- 52:30circadian friendly and, you know, finally found
- 52:33this like old reclaimed rock quarry that's on 160
- 52:37acres right outside of Nashville. So it's like
- 52:39close to a major airport, but yet just far
- 52:42enough. It's got this beautiful waterfall and
- 52:45this huge barn. And we're like, yes, we can get
- 52:50some of the smartest people, like smartest minds
- 52:53in this industry together, ask them to talk about
- 52:57something they've never talked about publicly
- 52:59before. So this is going to be like a very unique
- 53:05kind of approach to what people are going to talk
- 53:08about and get everybody in one room with like,
- 53:12you know, slide away doors. So the barn is open
- 53:15to the outside with water running there and we
- 53:19have some really beautiful, like really quantum
- 53:23aligned vendors that are coming to kind of
- 53:25showcase and sell some of their products and
- 53:28bring different tools that people might not
- 53:30necessarily get to experience in their day to day
- 53:33life. And so it's just we've been curating and
- 53:36working on this for like over a year now just to
- 53:41make it like super, super special, but very again
- 53:45like aligned with our principles and like
- 53:47everything that we stand for.
- 53:51Meredith Oke: I love it. I'm so excited for this. I think it's
- 53:55amazing what you're doing and yeah, there's,
- 53:58there's nothing like in person connection and you
- 54:03know, when you're out, when you're involved in
- 54:06something that's like really, really not
- 54:09mainstream. The technology is a beautiful thing.
- 54:12Right. Because we can be connected across all the
- 54:15geographies and find each other, but at the same
- 54:19time. Yeah. Then to have to have a real life
- 54:24opportunity to be in each other's physical
- 54:29presence is just so profound. So that I think
- 54:32it's going to be just a gorgeous event. I'm so
- 54:35thrilled that what you, you and Carrie have, have
- 54:38put together and I highly encourage everybody to
- 54:41go. So the, the website is. What's the website? I
- 54:50will put it in the show notes for sure. And
- 54:53Carrie and Oksana have very kindly offered a, a
- 54:5610% discount if for the code QBC. You put that
- 55:00when you check out. And it is.
- 55:05Oksana Hanson: I should have put it up. Carrie B. Wellness.com
- 55:10forward/retreat.
- 55:11Meredith Oke: Okay. Oh, so it's, you can just find it through
- 55:13Carrie's website.
- 55:14Oksana Hanson: Yeah.
- 55:15Meredith Oke: Okay. Yeah. So Caribbean Wellness Forward slash
- 55:17retreat. Put the, put QVC in. It's at the end of
- 55:22June 2025 for a couple of days. And yeah, it's
- 55:27going to be magical and fun and I, I feel like
- 55:31it'll be one of those things that will just for
- 55:34everyone who, who's able to attend will like just
- 55:37be a big battery recharge in, in whatever way you
- 55:42need.
- 55:44Oksana Hanson: Um, I was talking to Carrie this morning and she
- 55:47said that she just had this vision of like we
- 55:49were at the retreat and there was just smiles
- 55:52everywhere and the energy was insane. I was like,
- 55:55yes, like this is gonna Be one of those. Like, it
- 55:59feels surreal because all of these people, like,
- 56:03that we've been aligned with, like, you know,
- 56:05we're. We've kind of. I'm gonna say this for
- 56:09myself, not other people. Like, I kind of felt
- 56:11weird, right? Like, I'm the odd man out amongst
- 56:14all my friends and all these people talking about
- 56:17the sun and the healing power of the earth and
- 56:19all these things. And now I'm like, I get to be
- 56:22in a room full of all these people, like, with
- 56:25the same mindset, and pick their brains behind
- 56:29the scenes. Pick their brains of these really,
- 56:33really smart people with all these interesting
- 56:36views on the world and our body and how
- 56:39everything works and coincides together. It's
- 56:41gonna be amazing.
- 56:42Meredith Oke: Yeah, it's gonna be really fun. Tell me some of
- 56:45the speakers.
- 56:47Oksana Hanson: So we have Stephen Hussey, Danielle Hamilton, we
- 56:52have Sarah Pugh, Sarah Kleiner, and I'm sure
- 56:57there's a lot more information. That's amazing.
- 56:59Meredith Oke: Well, they're right there.
- 57:01Oksana Hanson: Yes, they're on the website.
- 57:04Meredith Oke: Yeah, no, just. Just a little. Just a handful.
- 57:07Sneak peek. Yes. So I. Yeah, I really, really
- 57:11want to encourage anybody who's listening if you
- 57:14felt like that little, like, jolt or impulse of,
- 57:16like, oh, my God, that sounds so fun. Like, do
- 57:19whatever you need to do to get there, because it
- 57:22will really be worth it. And these opportunities,
- 57:25you know, they don't happen all the time. So
- 57:29putting on a live event is no small. It's no
- 57:34small thing. It's a really big endeavor. So I
- 57:37think it's really important that we support them
- 57:40and show up if. If at all possible, because they
- 57:44really matter. And it's, I think, important to
- 57:49the. To the growth of this message, to the growth
- 57:52of this community and all of it.
- 57:55Oksana Hanson: Thank you, Meredith. And I guess, like, I just
- 57:58want to say, like, I think everyone has a. Their
- 58:00own definition for, like, quantum health, but for
- 58:03me, like, I really look at it from, like, a
- 58:08spiritual, emotional, and physical standpoint.
- 58:11And so the experiences that we've kind of curated
- 58:15at this retreat are going to touch each of those.
- 58:20Each of those areas. And so we'll have some great
- 58:24speakers, and then we'll go outside and maybe do
- 58:26a breath work. We'll have another speaker. We'll
- 58:28go outside and jump into an ice bath. We'll have
- 58:31another speaker, and maybe we'll go do yoga,
- 58:34Right? There's. There's going to be, like, a
- 58:36sound bath. Like, there's going to be all these
- 58:38experiences that are going to kind of help you to
- 58:42integrate the learnings and the information, and
- 58:46then also do things together as a group of people
- 58:48with, like, bonding things. Like, if you've never
- 58:50done an ice bath, like, this is the best way to
- 58:54experience it when you have other people around
- 58:56you, like, cheering you on. The weather's going
- 58:59to be great. It's going to be hot outside, so
- 59:00you're going to want to jump in the ice bath.
- 59:02But, yeah, it's definitely not going to be this,
- 59:05like, stuffy. You're sitting in a conference room
- 59:09learning material. Like, it's going to be some
- 59:11amazing speakers, but it's going to be some
- 59:13amazing kind of transformative experiences, I'll
- 59:17say.
- 59:17Meredith Oke: As well, fun, fully immersive. Sounds so good.
- 59:24And. And, yeah, and I think these types of events
- 59:27and are leading the way into a paradigm where we
- 59:31stop with all of the compartmentalizing of
- 59:34physical health versus mental health versus
- 59:36emotional health versus psychological versus
- 59:38virtual. It's like, yeah, from a quantum biologic
- 59:42perspective, it's all the same. It's. It's. You
- 59:47know, and I hear so many stories of, yeah, like,
- 59:51something starts, you have a physical symptom
- 59:54that leads to a spiritual awakening, or you have
- 59:56a spiritual awakening that leads to a wanting to
- 59:58take better care of your physical body. You know,
- 1:00:00like, it's, you know, so I think this idea of
- 1:00:05acne, you know, honoring that with the way that
- 1:00:08you've structured the event is, you know, the way
- 1:00:12forward, the way of the future. Any other last
- 1:00:16thoughts, Oksana?
- 1:00:18Oksana Hanson: No. Thank you so much for having me on today. I
- 1:00:20really appreciate it.
- 1:00:22Meredith Oke: Well, thank you for sharing your story. It was
- 1:00:25truly, truly an honor to go, you know, to hear
- 1:00:28you share that journey and to be able to
- 1:00:32articulate the different choice points that you
- 1:00:36faced and how you navigated them. And I really
- 1:00:40love the message that you're leaving with people
- 1:00:43of that. Like, we can. We can make our lives
- 1:00:47different. You know, we don't. It's possible and
- 1:00:54whatever that looks like for each person, but,
- 1:00:57you know, you're a living example of that, and
- 1:00:59that's really, really powerful. So much gratitude
- 1:01:03to you and your lovely husband. Good for him for
- 1:01:07getting on the ride.
- 1:01:10Oksana Hanson: Thank you. We truly say, like, we truly think
- 1:01:13that we are living heaven on earth, and that is
- 1:01:15within reach for everybody, so.
- 1:01:18Meredith Oke: Oh, that's beautiful. Thank you for being here,
- 1:01:21Oksana.
- 1:01:22Oksana Hanson: Thank you.
