- 0:07Speaker 1: podcast by Night all day.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Pull up on the microphone up there catching Now rainbow
- 0:18Speaker 2: trout killed him. I've been our fourth year fly fish.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Yeah oh yeah, but you're not fly fishing. You come
- 0:28Speaker 2: back in July for fly fishing. This is fly fishing.
- 0:33Speaker 2: But you've got to fly bobber. It's a fly and
- 0:37Speaker 2: then you got that tiny, tiny bug. I mean you
- 0:42Speaker 2: can't even see it, and that's what you catch them all.
- 0:44Speaker 2: So you fly.
- 0:45Speaker 3: You're using a fly rod. You have a bobber and
- 0:47Speaker 3: a little well, the bobber.
- 0:49Speaker 2: The bobber is a basically a big moth or something
- 0:55Speaker 2: holds it up bobber cork.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00Speaker 3: So it's just a different kind of fly fishing.
- 1:03Speaker 2: What you're doing because you're not you're in a boat,
- 1:06Speaker 2: you know, fast at waters moving right and you just
- 1:09Speaker 2: go down through there and they move it to the
- 1:12Speaker 2: jets and jeties and stuff, and so.
- 1:15Speaker 3: You find like the pools where they're waving and you.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Just find that goes to bloom man oh brown trout. Yeah.
- 1:23Speaker 2: It was a good time.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Yeah. Trout fishing is very fun.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Fly fishing is a completely different thing. It's very very skillful.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I like fly fishing too. We did that last year
- 1:34Speaker 2: in July and didn't have near the I didn't. Yeah
- 1:39Speaker 2: mean we didn't catch hardly anything, be honest with you. Yeah,
- 1:42Speaker 2: I mean maybe five or six a day.
- 1:45Speaker 3: That's a lot for fly fishing.
- 1:47Speaker 2: We caught almost one hundred and ten hours.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Really, yeah, a hundred trout.
- 1:52Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Don't say where you were. People are all going to
- 1:56Speaker 3: swarm that place.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I don't know. I didn't bring my fun I'd show you. Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 2: it was. It was crazy. Wow, I tell you something funny.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I carry I carry, yeah, what we're filming.
- 2:08Speaker 2: I carry a baby Jesus with me. Let me tell
- 2:12Speaker 2: you what happened.
- 2:13Speaker 3: You carry a baby Jesus, baby Jesus from the manger.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yes, Jesus Jesus. We call it baby Jesus.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Okay, okay, Oh so it is Jesus.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Never exactly. So we're not catching anything. So reach in
- 2:29Speaker 2: my pocket. I don't know why, looking for my lie.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I don't know what I was doing. And I had
- 2:33Speaker 2: this baby Jesus. I said, Oh, my son in law
- 2:38Speaker 2: is in the back. I said, I got baby Jesus
- 2:40Speaker 2: with me, and I sent him on the on the
- 2:43Speaker 2: igoro on the box facing me. You ready, Joe one
- 2:49Speaker 2: two three, four, five six six, giant rainbow in a row.
- 2:56Speaker 2: So my son and laws in the back, and he's
- 2:58Speaker 2: going turn baby ges just towards me. I turned it around.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I took Baby Jesus toward him. One two three, four
- 3:08Speaker 2: five six. I went down this. We caught twelve twelve
- 3:14Speaker 2: rainbow anywhere from fifteen to twenty inches. That's big. Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 2: that's pig.
- 3:20Speaker 3: That's good rainbow.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So the so the the guide, I mean, he's you
- 3:26Speaker 2: got a little tripped out he he he said, he said, hey, man, hey,
- 3:33Speaker 2: you kind of you're kind of messing with me here.
- 3:35Speaker 2: That's kind of that's kind of got me a little
- 3:37Speaker 2: screwed up here. I started laughing. I said, man, you
- 3:41Speaker 2: get the power of Jesus in here. So we kept
- 3:43Speaker 2: it all before I left. I gave it to him.
- 3:45Speaker 2: So he said, I'm gonna use this every day. So
- 3:48Speaker 2: that's it was kind of fun.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I don't think that's something you should use every day.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I think that that should be like for special trips.
- 3:53Speaker 3: You don't want to ask Jesus every day to help
- 3:55Speaker 3: you catch fish.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I don't go fishing every day. But yeah, you're right.
- 3:59Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't need. I wouldn't normally need help.
- 4:03Speaker 2: But trut fishing, yeah I need. I'm bass fishing, and
- 4:07Speaker 2: yeah I'm I'm pretty good on my own. But if
- 4:09Speaker 2: things get desperate, I'm not. I mean, I don't want
- 4:11Speaker 2: to push it. You know what I'm saying, I want
- 4:13Speaker 2: to push it. Oh, by the way, Jeff died to me. Hello,
- 4:17Speaker 2: Oh you know Jeff. Yeah, I know. I did a
- 4:20Speaker 2: two years of better late than never with him.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I love Jeff. Good dude, Yeah, solid dude.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Man's man. What's with all the whiskey?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Did you bring that? Yeah?
- 4:33Speaker 3: I was wondering.
- 4:34Speaker 2: You don't drink, I'll drink. Yeah.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I quit and then I came back. Yeah, I quit
- 4:39Speaker 3: for eight months. Not not really like I didn't have
- 4:42Speaker 3: a problem. I just health reasons. I decided it wasn't
- 4:44Speaker 3: a good thing for you. Smart you have your own
- 4:46Speaker 3: Terry Breudshaw whiskey.
- 4:47Speaker 2: We've had it. Come on, son, we've got to have
- 4:49Speaker 2: a glass of that. Seven years. Do you drink? Yes,
- 4:53Speaker 2: I drink whiskey. Yeah, I drink this. Let's have it.
- 4:57Speaker 2: This is our twelve year that just won all the
- 5:00Speaker 2: Golden Awards and spirits and oh nice, yeah, all of them.
- 5:03Speaker 2: So aged twelve years, twelve years thirteen. Now.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I was talking with Buffalo Trace about that, and they're like.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you're that's what you drink. Well, once you
- 5:11Speaker 2: drink this, you'll stop drinking that unless unless they're a sponsor.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Tore a sponsor. Okay, there you go. And they're nice guys.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Okay, and I respect them in that country. That company's
- 5:20Speaker 3: been around longer than the country.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Long longer than America. Long time. They started in seventeen
- 5:26Speaker 2: seventy three. I mean when you go back to steid
- 5:27Speaker 2: to whiskey, Yeah, I got Well, they claimed that Elijah
- 5:31Speaker 2: Craig was the father of bourbon whiskey, and it's they
- 5:38Speaker 2: do research and then they don't have it back that
- 5:40Speaker 2: far where they can I can actually sit because Elijah
- 5:43Speaker 2: Craig was a preacher.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Oh really, so that freeacher who made whiskey. Yeah wow.
- 5:49Speaker 2: So anyway, that's that's award winning twelve. This is uh,
- 5:55Speaker 2: this is our original, this is our two year. This
- 5:59Speaker 2: is the original brand right there. We still have that.
- 6:02Speaker 3: What is the original it's two year aged two two.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Then with our with our yeast, we were able to
- 6:07Speaker 2: make it taste like four to six. Okay, and so
- 6:11Speaker 2: now and then we don't do that anymore. And then
- 6:13Speaker 2: this is the This is this is the good stuff.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Right here, this six year six year. Oh yeah, so
- 6:20Speaker 3: you got twelve two and six.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yeah, actually twelve four. Can you really tell the difference? Yeah? Absolutely.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Oh I'm going to tell you right now. This is
- 6:31Speaker 2: one hundred and forty five proof.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Whoa, Okay, that's a lot.
- 6:37Speaker 2: This this is one oh eight one o three point eight.
- 6:42Speaker 2: This is amazing. This is this, This is a.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Why does the older stuff have more alcohols it because
- 6:51Speaker 3: of the process, well of agent.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's also this is a bourbon that it's
- 6:56Speaker 2: a single barrel bourbon. And when we brought it out,
- 6:58Speaker 2: you leave it in there, and this is what it
- 7:00Speaker 2: turned out to. Now we could dilute it by simply
- 7:04Speaker 2: putting water in it and dilute it down to this
- 7:07Speaker 2: is one O three point eight and it's fifty one
- 7:10Speaker 2: point nine proof or proof alcohol. This this bust it out, Therry.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Let's go if we busted. How long are we planning
- 7:23Speaker 2: on talk today? For a couple of hours? We may
- 7:26Speaker 2: not be able to make a couple hours. We do
- 7:29Speaker 2: our best, you can. Who can open this? I don't
- 7:32Speaker 2: have a knife here, Jamie. Oh yeah, so we started
- 7:37Speaker 2: this man, A lot of you know what I noticed
- 7:43Speaker 2: coming over here today. A lot of tattoos in here, Yes, yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 2: a lot of tattoos.
- 7:49Speaker 3: You mean the building Jamie's tattoo free. Yeah, a lot
- 7:52Speaker 3: of He's been thinking about getting my face tattooed on
- 7:54Speaker 3: his back?
- 7:55Speaker 2: You still doing it? Is that like a bull's eye?
- 7:58Speaker 2: Stand up? Good? We made a deal.
- 8:01Speaker 3: I'll do his face, he'll do my Oh my god, anyway,
- 8:04Speaker 3: and I'll have like young JB, like gothic.
- 8:07Speaker 2: You know. The thing about the thing about Bourbon, I
- 8:10Speaker 2: don't know how to explain it. I don't know why
- 8:12Speaker 2: I fell in love with Bourbon. I find it to be.
- 8:15Speaker 2: First of all, it's the only thing that's it's only
- 8:20Speaker 2: in America. Bourbon is only Bourbon if it's in America, right,
- 8:24Speaker 2: And I think it's only Bourbon if it's if it's
- 8:27Speaker 2: made in Kentucky. A lot of Kentucky people.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the exact same way.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I mean, you ready, yes, sir, Okay, let's go time
- 8:35Speaker 2: to party. I'm just going this might this might be
- 8:39Speaker 2: the best show you ever have.
- 8:41Speaker 3: I'm excited.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you will be after you drink that. Let it
- 8:45Speaker 2: says good. Let it sit, It's most good. Let it sit.
- 8:48Speaker 2: This is the twelve year old stuff. And what is
- 8:51Speaker 2: it called? That's the name. Here's the thing about the
- 8:56Speaker 2: twelve year old we only have and look at that,
- 9:01Speaker 2: we only have fifteen cases left. Fifteen cases. I think
- 9:06Speaker 2: they told me so this is a limited edition and
- 9:09Speaker 2: then we have to come out with some new stuff.
- 9:11Speaker 2: But this is actually thirteen years old now.
- 9:14Speaker 3: So you obviously started this project right time ago, right
- 9:18Speaker 3: if you've been aging it for twelve years.
- 9:20Speaker 2: What I did? Cheers sir, Thank you for Joe, Thanks
- 9:23Speaker 2: for having me my pleasure.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 9:26Speaker 2: What happened? I don't I don't know why. I went
- 9:29Speaker 2: to my poo, Hey, wow, you gotta let us sit.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that's got a kick.
- 9:37Speaker 2: We're gonna try this and then we'll try this and
- 9:39Speaker 2: you'll definitely see the difference. But I was going to
- 9:42Speaker 2: my I went to my dad, who saw DRIV today.
- 9:45Speaker 2: My father's father was an alcoholic, and I went to
- 9:49Speaker 2: my dad prior to him passing, and I said, hey, Dad,
- 9:53Speaker 2: what would you think if I got into the spirit's business.
- 9:56Speaker 2: And he says, you know what I think. And I went, well,
- 9:58Speaker 2: I'm just asking you, and he says, absolutely not. And
- 10:02Speaker 2: I said, okay, so I shut it down. My dad died.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Oh wow, it's twelve years ago. He died. My mother
- 10:12Speaker 2: died two years ago. So anyway, so after his passing
- 10:17Speaker 2: two or three years, four years, I'm sitting and I
- 10:20Speaker 2: was sitting around. I was trying to I remember William Cohen,
- 10:24Speaker 2: Secretary of State, William Cohen. He says, what do you
- 10:27Speaker 2: do to make a living? I said, well, I work
- 10:29Speaker 2: on Fox. I'm a broadcaster. And he says, is that it?
- 10:32Speaker 2: And I said, well, I'm a horse and cattle breeder.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I raise a registered cattle and I in the breeding business,
- 10:38Speaker 2: training business of court of horses. He said okay. He says,
- 10:41Speaker 2: is there anything else? I said, well, I get public
- 10:44Speaker 2: I speak for corporations. So he was trying to find
- 10:48Speaker 2: out and he took a liking to him, and he says,
- 10:52Speaker 2: basically what he was telling me, you should brand herself
- 10:55Speaker 2: and not have to travel so much. Yeah, because I
- 10:58Speaker 2: traveled two hundred and fifty days last year. Travel.
- 11:00Speaker 3: That's a lot.
- 11:01Speaker 2: That's a lot, but my wife travels with me, so
- 11:03Speaker 2: that's good.
- 11:04Speaker 3: That helps.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yeah, what do you want to do with baby Jesus, Let's.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Sit him right, set them right there.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I got him facing you. We'll see what happens and anyway,
- 11:15Speaker 2: and so he said, basically, you have to brain yourself
- 11:17Speaker 2: get into something that you can and I said, well,
- 11:19Speaker 2: I don't really know anything. I know football. I can
- 11:23Speaker 2: talk football. I know how to make people laugh, I
- 11:27Speaker 2: know how to I know how to give speeches to
- 11:29Speaker 2: major corporations and build a build a program in the speeches.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I know quarter horses, I know how to select horses,
- 11:39Speaker 2: show horses, I know how to train them. I don't
- 11:43Speaker 2: do that, but I have a trainer for all that now,
- 11:44Speaker 2: and I have people for the breeding part of it.
- 11:47Speaker 2: And I said, in cattle, I I know, I know
- 11:50Speaker 2: the bloodlines and things of that nature, but I got
- 11:53Speaker 2: people doing that. So I just got this. I never
- 11:57Speaker 2: forgot that. You know. That's William call On, one of
- 11:59Speaker 2: these pretty smart dude. And so we were I'm home.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I think it was kind of a rainy day, and
- 12:07Speaker 2: I'm sitting there in my little brain's going, I'm going,
- 12:10Speaker 2: you know, what do you want to do. What do
- 12:12Speaker 2: you have? For some reason, I was going, what do
- 12:14Speaker 2: you want to do? Because I remember one time. I
- 12:16Speaker 2: remember one time I got real uncomfortable because I didn't
- 12:18Speaker 2: have a normal job. So I ran into this guy
- 12:21Speaker 2: that owned this cosmetic company and I said, do you
- 12:24Speaker 2: have a job. Could you hire me to teach me
- 12:26Speaker 2: the cosmetic industry? And he said yeah, yeah. He gave
- 12:30Speaker 2: me five thousand dollars a month. So I had to
- 12:34Speaker 2: go to work and put a tie on and a
- 12:36Speaker 2: coat because I wanted to be like everybody. Everybody goes
- 12:39Speaker 2: to work, but me, I'm playing golf in between speeches,
- 12:45Speaker 2: which may be week two weeks apart. So I got
- 12:48Speaker 2: two weeks of golf, and I got, you know, and
- 12:50Speaker 2: I just got.
- 12:51Speaker 3: When was this thing?
- 12:52Speaker 2: This was thirty years ago? Thirty years ago?
- 12:54Speaker 3: You decided to get into the cosmetics business.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Yeah, just for just.
- 12:59Speaker 3: To do something I wanted to be.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I wanted to have a job, really, I know, Wow,
- 13:05Speaker 2: I wanted to have a job. I wanted to be
- 13:08Speaker 2: like I wanted I think I wanted to see. I
- 13:11Speaker 2: wanted to see how America works. People get up and
- 13:16Speaker 2: kiss their kids goodbye, and their wives or husbands and
- 13:19Speaker 2: and they go off to work, and I, for some reason,
- 13:22Speaker 2: I felt guilty. I didn't have a job. I know, stupid,
- 13:26Speaker 2: I know it's interesting. So I got a job. Now
- 13:30Speaker 2: here's the thing, Joe. My office was right on the road,
- 13:34Speaker 2: across the street from the golf course I was a
- 13:37Speaker 2: member of. And I was watching my buddies come up
- 13:40Speaker 2: the fairway and I'd stand at the window and I'd
- 13:44Speaker 2: look at them, and I go that I should be
- 13:48Speaker 2: playing golf with those guys right now. So hold the
- 13:53Speaker 2: last two months, I couldn't stand it. I tell you,
- 13:58Speaker 2: I couldn't stand it. Mostly can't. But I can't explain
- 14:02Speaker 2: it other than I just felt guilty that. You know,
- 14:08Speaker 2: people say, well, athletes, they got you know, it's true.
- 14:12Speaker 2: They got all this money and they got this, and
- 14:14Speaker 2: they got that. And you smoke the gars to her,
- 14:16Speaker 2: I do want one? Yeah, I do. I want I
- 14:18Speaker 2: want a really good one. You got them? Oh yeah, Hey,
- 14:24Speaker 2: I I love Hey, that's my wife. I've got the
- 14:29Speaker 2: only I'm probably married to the only wife who lets
- 14:32Speaker 2: me smoke in the house. Really you married?
- 14:35Speaker 3: Yes, I can't smoke in the house.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Oh see there.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Everything you see in this place is because I can't
- 14:41Speaker 3: do anything at home. All the elkheads and all the
- 14:43Speaker 3: crazy artwork and Jimmy Hendrix and all that Josey. Yeah,
- 14:48Speaker 3: like I let her decorate the house.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I mean. It's beautiful. It's very excepted.
- 14:53Speaker 3: If my house would look like a sixteen year old
- 14:55Speaker 3: boy won the lottery, that's.
- 14:57Speaker 2: What I can understand that.
- 14:59Speaker 4: I don't know why I simulators, and I don't know
- 15:02Speaker 4: why why my wife lets me smoke. But if she
- 15:06Speaker 4: said out, yeah, that's all you're saying, yours don't doesn't.
- 15:10Speaker 3: I love me too, But we make concessions.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Okay, you know what I mean. But I have a
- 15:15Speaker 2: pool room.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Like where I play pool in the house.
- 15:18Speaker 2: No, it's outside out in the.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Barn, and I go out there and I smoke. I
- 15:24Speaker 3: have a cigar.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Sorry, yeah, that's good. You smoke Cuban cigars.
- 15:30Speaker 3: I do.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I can get them.
- 15:31Speaker 3: But you know what I mean, there's a lot of
- 15:33Speaker 3: them that aren't even really Cuban. They're lying to you.
- 15:37Speaker 2: M M, there you go, sir. I think All the
- 15:41Speaker 2: Count is going to be the greatest interview I've ever
- 15:44Speaker 2: been a part of.
- 15:45Speaker 3: A good time.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Not only are we going to drink award winning bourbon
- 15:48Speaker 2: Bradshaw Bourbon by the way, and we're smoking this is
- 15:51Speaker 2: amazing cigar.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Yeah, shout out to Foundation Cigars. Wow, what is this Dominican?
- 15:57Speaker 2: I believe? No? N yeah is it our fathers or
- 16:02Speaker 2: there are fathers.
- 16:04Speaker 3: The name of the company. Yeah, no, it's a foundation
- 16:06Speaker 3: Foundation Cigars.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I gotta get this.
- 16:09Speaker 3: This is called the Tabernacle.
- 16:10Speaker 2: This is his Foundation Cigars. Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Good right, oh shit right yeah.
- 16:16Speaker 2: If I had your kind of money, I could afford these.
- 16:18Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Also, I'm sending you a box. Give them to me
- 16:22Speaker 3: for free.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Si. Yeah, he's in front of the show. Kind of
- 16:24Speaker 2: get like a monthly.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Bet he will, I bet he will just make a
- 16:29Speaker 3: little Instagram post for something. Any way, be happy to it.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I got this friend. He built our house. Huge
- 16:34Speaker 2: elk hunter, which I know you are. And so he
- 16:38Speaker 2: goes out and he shoots this massive elk. I mean
- 16:42Speaker 2: this monster at the bottom of his horn is like
- 16:46Speaker 2: this big round, just massive seven by seven in Idaho,
- 16:51Speaker 2: New Mexico.
- 16:52Speaker 3: New Mexico's extraordinary big elk in New Mexico.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah, shot him with a bow. He's a bow hunter
- 16:58Speaker 2: like you. And so he brings it home. Now he's
- 17:01Speaker 2: old got his fireplace, all right, he's got two over here,
- 17:07Speaker 2: two over here. Well, you got to balance it up

- 20:45Speaker 3: I get it, Yeah, I get it.
- 20:46Speaker 2: I'll kill a snake and a heart beat or I
- 20:50Speaker 2: even have a hard time killing in a mouth. I really, yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 2: I don't know what it is. Snake, snake, scare me, centipede.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I'll crush a centipede for all these words, then put
- 21:00Speaker 2: him in a grinder in the kitchen, grind that sucker up.
- 21:04Speaker 2: He might still be alive. You ever been Towaii and
- 21:07Speaker 2: got a hold of some centipedes? Joe, Joe Jo? Hear
- 21:11Speaker 2: me clear? They're dangerous?
- 21:15Speaker 3: Yeah, some of them are yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh they're gross. Ye yeah. So a hunter.
- 21:22Speaker 2: My dad was a hunter. All my uncles are hunters.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I don't know why I never.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Did I hain't nothing wrong with that. You don't have
- 21:28Speaker 3: to do it. It's not necessary. You could always go
- 21:30Speaker 3: to the grocery store.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I do that.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Yeah, but if you wanted to get it yourself, it's
- 21:35Speaker 3: so Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 2: I don't. I enjoy It's like fishing. I'll go fishing
- 21:40Speaker 2: with you. I don't have to fish, and I love
- 21:42Speaker 2: to fish. I don't have to fish. As long as
- 21:44Speaker 2: you're kitchen fishing having a good time. That's as much
- 21:46Speaker 2: fun for me is in it. Oh mercy.
- 21:50Speaker 3: A Big island man called a foot long centipede. That
- 21:54Speaker 3: dude caught that on the Big Island of Hawaii.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Hey check that out. Hey, but look at here right here.
- 22:00Speaker 3: That's crazy. Yeah, I didn't know they got that big.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Is that an invasive one? Or is that that can't
- 22:06Speaker 3: be native to Hawaii? Is it Hawaiian giant centipedes? Whoare
- 22:13Speaker 3: to this? Yeah? You flip the top the other way.
- 22:18Speaker 2: There you go. That's it.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Now pull that button down this yeah, there you go.
- 22:23Speaker 3: No worries that one. For some reason, that lighter confuses
- 22:27Speaker 3: the ship out of people.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a pretty good lighter too. Yeah. Yeah that
- 22:32Speaker 2: was gross.
- 22:32Speaker 3: N Oh, yeah, So you have no problem killing sun beats.
- 22:35Speaker 3: You just don't want to kill an animal.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I get it. Yeah, yeah, I don't.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Well, the thing is, if you don't kill them, they
- 22:41Speaker 3: get killed by something. It's usually either winter or mountain lions.
- 22:44Speaker 2: We raised twenty seven mallard ducks. My wife and I.
- 22:47Speaker 2: You raise them, raise them, raised, raised them. And so
- 22:50Speaker 2: I told her this morning flying down here to Austin,
- 22:53Speaker 2: So I told her, I said, we got five ducks left.
- 22:57Speaker 2: What happened to him? Stupid ducks? And we live way
- 23:00Speaker 2: out in the country. What they're doing is coming out
- 23:03Speaker 2: of the lake, walking through the field, crossing over the road. Oh,
- 23:07Speaker 2: they get crushed and they're getting hit on the road.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Oh why why? I had no idea, But we have
- 23:14Speaker 2: five left out of twenty seven.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Are you raising them for eggs? Just for fun? Just
- 23:19Speaker 3: to have ducks hanging around?
- 23:20Speaker 2: Yeah, ducks, Well, we had ducks, chickens, guineas.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Duck eggs are interesting. You ever have them?
- 23:25Speaker 2: I'm not eating a duck egg. I don't know why
- 23:27Speaker 2: they're darker yolk. I know that you ever had a
- 23:29Speaker 2: guinea egg?
- 23:30Speaker 3: Guinea? Yeah, no, I don't think so.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's it's it's good for you.
- 23:37Speaker 3: But the duck eggs are weird. They like coat your mouth,
- 23:43Speaker 3: you know what I mean, like when you eat them.
- 23:44Speaker 3: It's just it tastes different. But apparently it's massively high
- 23:47Speaker 3: in protein.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we were talking about eating buffalo and elk. You
- 23:52Speaker 2: don't come in today, and I said, well, I've had
- 23:55Speaker 2: buffalo and that elk that my trainer kill. I can
- 24:01Speaker 2: have all of that I want. I got one little steak.
- 24:05Speaker 2: My wife won't let me cook.
- 24:06Speaker 3: It, so I won't let you cook it, so I haven't.
- 24:09Speaker 2: So it's still sitting there. No wild game in the house. See,
- 24:15Speaker 2: I know, but it's just meat. You met her earlier.
- 24:23Speaker 6: Has a problem with when we leave here today, go
- 24:26Speaker 6: and say, hey, Tammy, how about how about we go
- 24:28Speaker 6: over to the house and have a nice little little
- 24:31Speaker 6: elk steak and you know, hey, I ain't gonna happen.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Some people have a bad misconception about wild game, you know,
- 24:39Speaker 3: they think that it smells bad or tastes bad.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I think it's taste. I don't like deer, really, I
- 24:44Speaker 2: don't like deer. I like buffalo.
- 24:46Speaker 3: I think it's how it's prepared. I guarantee you if
- 24:49Speaker 3: you had deer from someone who prepares it well duck, yes.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Eat duck, Yes, they don't. We tried to eat We
- 24:55Speaker 2: tried to cook some duck.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it was horrible. See this is what we're talking. No,
- 25:00Speaker 3: I think it's just how you're preparing it. Really, I
- 25:04Speaker 3: don't know.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I do know this. Mister Childs got some of the
- 25:08Speaker 2: best duck I've ever had, Right, mister Child's in Los Angeles,
- 25:11Speaker 2: Beverly Hills.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's where I eat duck. Fantastic duck. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 25:16Speaker 3: now that's I think they probably do a better job
- 25:18Speaker 3: of preparing it. That's all it is.
- 25:21Speaker 2: We tried to do the route the rude that you
- 25:23Speaker 2: cooked duck in.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it ended up looking like dar right, do you guys,
- 25:29Speaker 3: But do you know how to cook?
- 25:31Speaker 2: Well, we thought we did. We found that cook is your.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Wife, Yes she is. Anthony Bourdaine went on this duck
- 25:41Speaker 3: hunt with these guys and cooked the duck for them
- 25:44Speaker 3: because they were complaining that duck doesn't taste good, and
- 25:46Speaker 3: he got mad at them. He's like, listen, listen, listen,
- 25:48Speaker 3: don't say that. It's not that duck doesn't taste good,
- 25:51Speaker 3: it's she don't know what you're doing. And on the
- 25:53Speaker 3: show he prepares it for them and like this is fantastic,
- 25:56Speaker 3: Like that's how you're supposed to prepare duck. It tastes
- 25:59Speaker 3: really good if you do a good job.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Missus childs got it down.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Yeah, they do.
- 26:03Speaker 2: The chef's professional. But my wife and I we got
- 26:06Speaker 2: it out of out.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Of the computer. Oh okay, you got a recipe.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Yeah, so we got this friend of mine sent it's
- 26:14Speaker 2: five mallards, right, I think we got two of them out.
- 26:17Speaker 2: We didn't know what we were doing. Do they cook
- 26:19Speaker 2: down and you don't have a half a bird or what?
- 26:21Speaker 2: I don't know. So we got so you got to
- 26:23Speaker 2: make a rude right, you know, the sauce, right, the sauce.
- 26:28Speaker 2: So we got the big pot out, and we're putting
- 26:31Speaker 2: this in, that in this and that in right now
- 26:35Speaker 2: you heat it, get it this and that and then
- 26:36Speaker 2: you stir add this and that and we stirred and
- 26:38Speaker 2: we started, and the more we stirred, I ended up
- 26:40Speaker 2: looking like a rubber tire. Let's it was horrible. Uh,
- 26:48Speaker 2: it was, seriously, but Terry, I want.
- 26:50Speaker 3: You to think about it this way. Imagine if someone
- 26:52Speaker 3: learned how to play football from YouTube, never played football
- 26:56Speaker 3: for Oh, let's figure out how to play football. We're
- 26:57Speaker 3: gonna watch a YouTube video on how to play football Apple.
- 27:00Speaker 3: And then they went out there and had a fucking
- 27:02Speaker 3: terrible game. They looked like shit, right, all right, that's
- 27:04Speaker 3: the same thing as like you learn how to cook
- 27:07Speaker 3: from a recipe.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Well, if you don't know how to cook, have you.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I've got a book out called the Bradshaw Family Cookbook,
- 27:14Speaker 2: and so you can cook. Yeah, oh yeah, but I
- 27:18Speaker 2: don't cook stuff like that. I make a ring. Now,
- 27:21Speaker 2: my son in law you met Noah. Yes, he's a
- 27:24Speaker 2: world renow. Not a world renow, but he was. He's
- 27:27Speaker 2: number one voted in the number one chef in Dallas.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Oh wow, Yeah, he's from Hawaii.
- 27:32Speaker 3: What restaurants do you cook out of Dallas?
- 27:34Speaker 2: Ham's he he they hire him. Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, sure,
- 27:39Speaker 2: they hire him. He does these goes out and cooks
- 27:42Speaker 2: for companies and people. It's amazing, amazing. As matter of fact,
- 27:46Speaker 2: I called him yesterday after church and I said, I
- 27:48Speaker 2: got some I always mess up pork pork chops. I
- 27:52Speaker 2: love pork chops, but I screw them up. And he said,
- 27:55Speaker 2: what's got temperature at thirty? I said, three p fifty said,
- 27:58Speaker 2: twenty minutes, take them off. That's all I needed to know.
- 28:01Speaker 2: It's perfect, it's beautiful.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you just got to learn how to do it. Yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 3: it's not that the duck tastes back.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Here's the bad thing about it. I know my I
- 28:11Speaker 2: know my banker who's the one I got the ducks run.
- 28:13Speaker 2: His name is Drake Mills.
- 28:15Speaker 3: His name is Drakes, Drake ducks, and he has duck ducks.
- 28:19Speaker 2: He's a duck hunter, but his name is Drake Drake. Yeah,
- 28:22Speaker 2: I told him crazy, I know, but he's how ironic
- 28:26Speaker 2: serious duck hunter, serious plans five hundred acres of rice shot.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Serious.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Then he's on the phone with me bitching s eighty
- 28:35Speaker 2: degrees duck story. I mean they are coming to an
- 28:39Speaker 2: eight degree is rice and he's got water issues. Do
- 28:43Speaker 2: you know how to cook duck? I guess I never.
- 28:47Speaker 2: He's never asked me what I want to eat it duck?
- 28:49Speaker 2: But I asked for some duck. He told me one
- 28:54Speaker 2: day he had plenty of duck, and I said, well,
- 28:56Speaker 2: tell me, we don't shoot stuff, but I like duck.
- 28:59Speaker 2: So he sent us five duck ducks, you know, And
- 29:04Speaker 2: that's so. So that's what you cook. That's what I
- 29:07Speaker 2: cooked his ducks.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Did you ask him how he cooks it?
- 29:10Speaker 2: No? I don't think so. No, probably should have.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Probably good idea. Well, I mean the book, right, the book,
- 29:17Speaker 3: Come on, Joe, Yeah, the books quarter Really the right
- 29:21Speaker 3: way to do it is to learn from someone who
- 29:23Speaker 3: is really good.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I got to take a break here. This is pretty
- 29:25Speaker 2: dang good. If you had, have you had any more?
- 29:27Speaker 2: I have? We need to bump again. I'm telling when
- 29:30Speaker 2: this is over, let's Go'll be sitting over there, and
- 29:33Speaker 2: I'll be sitting over there.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Let's try it. It's got quite a kick. I'll tell
- 29:38Speaker 3: you that there's there's a lot in there.
- 29:39Speaker 2: You can tell.
- 29:39Speaker 3: It's one hundred and thirty five proof it's good. But yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 3: I think duck cooking like I've heard people say that
- 29:45Speaker 3: wild game tastes bad. It's it's the best tasty meat
- 29:49Speaker 3: in the world. It's just how do you cook it.
- 29:53Speaker 3: I've had wild turkey.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Dang, Oh you're crazy. It was delicious. I mean, the
- 29:58Speaker 2: only way wild turkey. Squirrel. I've had squirrel, Yeah, I see,
- 30:02Speaker 2: I grew up on squirrel. Now you tell my wife
- 30:04Speaker 2: that are you telling my kids that? Oh God?
- 30:06Speaker 3: This is a lot like chicken. Right, it's a lot
- 30:08Speaker 3: like chicken.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Is that your stand up comedian? Is that? Is that
- 30:12Speaker 2: a funny?
- 30:12Speaker 3: No, it's kind of chicken like. It's almost like a.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Squirrels tastes like chicken.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Well, it's not like a red meat.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Do you eat the brain?
- 30:20Speaker 3: I have not eaten squirrel brain?
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, the brain.
- 30:22Speaker 3: I've had Lamb's brain before. M Yeah, my uncle Vinnie
- 30:27Speaker 3: used to go. He used to slice up they used
- 30:29Speaker 3: to sell in the grocery store in New Jersey. They
- 30:31Speaker 3: would slice up a Lamb's skull with the brain inside,
- 30:34Speaker 3: like sliced in half, and they put two halves on
- 30:36Speaker 3: the grill and they would cook Lamb's brains on the grill. Hey,
- 30:40Speaker 3: I was like ten, I don't know.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Yeah. My brother and I used to fight over the
- 30:45Speaker 2: squirrel head. Now I don't want.
- 30:46Speaker 3: To the squirrel head used to fight over.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I don't want to gross out our viewers out too late. Well,
- 30:54Speaker 2: you take them, you take them, and you hit them
- 30:56Speaker 2: with a spoon and rip it. Whoa crack it open.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Let's wait, I mean now what I eat one today? No?
- 31:03Speaker 3: How old are you when you were doing this?
- 31:05Speaker 2: Yeah? I was, I know at least fifteen up to fifteen. Yeah, yeah,
- 31:09Speaker 2: I didn't think anything of it.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Brains are sketchy, like eating brains can get you in
- 31:14Speaker 3: trouble like that's.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Can I honestly say, this is just the first interview
- 31:18Speaker 2: ever done with brains. Eating brains has been brought up.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Probably not, oh not. We talked about eating brains before,
- 31:24Speaker 3: sure we have, yeah, definitely. Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Well I'm not because special today, but.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I think we talked about it in terms of what
- 31:34Speaker 3: mad cow disease is. Mad cow disease comes from them
- 31:37Speaker 3: feeding cows cows. It's it's basically the same disease accountables get.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not familiar with that. Yeah, I know about
- 31:45Speaker 2: mad cow disease. They got another one going on right
- 31:47Speaker 2: now in South Texas. Is some kind of disease.
- 31:51Speaker 3: The screw worms.
- 31:52Speaker 7: Screw worms, Yeah yeah, bridge about that which New Worlds
- 31:56Speaker 7: me you horses, dogs, Yeah, Yeah, it's a it's apparently
- 32:01Speaker 7: a huge problem.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but they had it in America and I think
- 32:05Speaker 3: in the eighties, and they pushed it back, they got
- 32:08Speaker 3: rid of it, so hopefully they can get rid of
- 32:10Speaker 3: it again. But it's apparently a really dangerous parasite.
- 32:13Speaker 2: I don't Yeah, it's a parasite. So I mean, I
- 32:17Speaker 2: got in trouble one time for seeing uh people were
- 32:21Speaker 2: having during the COVID thing and they were taking ivermectem.
- 32:25Speaker 2: You may have taken ivermactm and I gave it. I
- 32:28Speaker 2: didn't know any better. I thought I knew, but I
- 32:31Speaker 2: didn't know. But ivermectum. I used to give it to
- 32:35Speaker 2: the cattle rights, that's what. Yeah, And I had a
- 32:40Speaker 2: not speaking of brains, this is true. We're in Hawaii.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I run into a brain surgeon and he says, I
- 32:47Speaker 2: are you okay with the COVID thing? And I said,
- 32:51Speaker 2: I had it, got over it, you know, I'm all
- 32:54Speaker 2: right now. And he says, well, he says, boy, he said,
- 32:57Speaker 2: I take ivermectin. Man, that's been I said, brain surgeon,
- 33:01Speaker 2: And I said to him, obviously, I said, really, it's
- 33:06Speaker 2: a cattle d wormer. I remac it kills parasites. So
- 33:11Speaker 2: I just left it at that and I walked on. Brain.
- 33:16Speaker 2: I never could rationalize that kind of thinking.
- 33:19Speaker 3: But yeah, well you know I've remeced and won the
- 33:21Speaker 3: Nobel Prize for Human Beings for use in human Beings.
- 33:25Speaker 2: No, I didn't know.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's good for a yellow fever, dengay fever. It's
- 33:30Speaker 3: an anti parasitic that also has anti viral properties.
- 33:34Speaker 2: So I didn't know that. Obviously I wasn't as well
- 33:36Speaker 2: informed as you are.
- 33:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Well, I got in trouble for it.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Oh so did I.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Well, I got in trouble like publicly, like on CNN.
- 33:44Speaker 3: The White House talked about it during I got over caught.
- 33:48Speaker 3: You don't know the story, so and for the people
- 33:50Speaker 3: that know the story, I'm sorry I have to repeat it.
- 33:52Speaker 3: But during the pandemic, I got COVID and we had
- 33:56Speaker 3: Me and Dave Chappelle were doing a show in Nashville,
- 33:58Speaker 3: and I had to cancel it because I had COVID,
- 34:01Speaker 3: And so I made a video saying that I feel better,
- 34:06Speaker 3: but we have to cancel the shows. I had COVID.
- 34:08Speaker 3: I was sick for a couple of days, but now
- 34:10Speaker 3: I'm fine, And I explained all the stuff that I took.
- 34:13Speaker 3: I took a bunch of stuff, monoclonal antibodies, and one
- 34:15Speaker 3: of the things that I took was ivermectin. So it
- 34:18Speaker 3: became this huge thing on CNN because they wanted everybody
- 34:20Speaker 3: to get vaccinated. So they had all these different people
- 34:24Speaker 3: saying that I was taking horse dewormer. Well was human
- 34:27Speaker 3: medication prescribed to me by my doctor, who also took ivermectin,
- 34:32Speaker 3: also got covid, also got better, and he didn't take
- 34:34Speaker 3: all the stuff that I took. I took a bunch
- 34:36Speaker 3: of stuff. But they changed the color of my skin.
- 34:39Speaker 3: They made my skin look green on CNN, like no bullshit, Oh,
- 34:43Speaker 3: no bullshit, Like they literally put a filter on my
- 34:47Speaker 3: face to make me look green.
- 34:49Speaker 2: They would put a cow's head over me. I honestly
- 34:54Speaker 2: did not know that you that a human.
- 34:58Speaker 3: And takes, but I will say, actually invented for humans.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I actually didn't know that. And and I'm thankful that
- 35:04Speaker 2: I didn't argue with anybody. And he wasn't the only
- 35:07Speaker 2: one that told me that.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Well, the problem was, it was that was a narrative
- 35:09Speaker 3: that was all over the news, was that it was
- 35:11Speaker 3: horsety warmer. And if you're a person who works with animals,
- 35:14Speaker 3: with horses, it is a de wormer. But that's like
- 35:19Speaker 3: saying penicillin is a veterinary medicine. No, well, they use
- 35:22Speaker 3: penicillin on animals, they also use penicillin on humans. It's
- 35:26Speaker 3: like it's medicine. We're mammals. We have similar medicines. That's
- 35:29Speaker 3: what ivermectin is. It's it stops viral replication, and that's
- 35:33Speaker 3: the benefit to stop. There's a ton of studies, there's
- 35:38Speaker 3: a lot of people that have written books. I'm not
- 35:39Speaker 3: the guy to talk about it, but there's a lot
- 35:42Speaker 3: of evidence that the reason why they were not telling
- 35:44Speaker 3: people to take ivermectin is because they wanted everybody to
- 35:47Speaker 3: get vaccinated. And I don't want over here, thank you,
- 35:49Speaker 3: But the reason why they wanted to get everyone to
- 35:50Speaker 3: get vaccinated is not because it was effective. It's because
- 35:53Speaker 3: they wanted to make a lot of money. And that's
- 35:55Speaker 3: what they did.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Well, when you're talking about drugs, you're talking about a
- 35:58Speaker 2: lot of money. Ah money, a lot of money.
- 36:03Speaker 3: So that's why it's ironically you brought it up because
- 36:05Speaker 3: I got caught the crossfires of the ivermectin bullshit.
- 36:08Speaker 2: And see I but I you knew more about it
- 36:13Speaker 2: than I did, because farmer, that's all I used it for.
- 36:18Speaker 3: I used it very effective as a dean warmer, but
- 36:20Speaker 3: it also stops viral replication.
- 36:23Speaker 2: And but I wasn't gonna take it. I don't care
- 36:25Speaker 2: if they just said, this is great. I wasn't gonna
- 36:27Speaker 2: take that.
- 36:27Speaker 3: You wouldn't take it even if it was prescribed to
- 36:29Speaker 3: you by your doctor.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Well it would be a different story.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Well, I'm married to a doctor, and my doctor said
- 36:36Speaker 2: we're not taking him. But I took. You know, I'm
- 36:40Speaker 2: one of those guys that if they say I mean
- 36:44Speaker 2: when I When I got uh COVID, I was sitting
- 36:50Speaker 2: in my dressing room at Fox, felt fine, felt fine.
- 36:55Speaker 2: We got tested every every Sunday morning we got tested.
- 36:59Speaker 2: They came in and said, you gotta go, you gotta leave.
- 37:02Speaker 2: What happened? You got? You got COVID?
- 37:06Speaker 3: I'm like, did you get sick?
- 37:08Speaker 2: No? Oh, now here's the thing.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Okay, here's the thing.
- 37:13Speaker 2: The question that came to mind later was, Okay, the
- 37:17Speaker 2: guy that drove me over here, the guy that's going
- 37:20Speaker 2: to take me to the air. But how am I
- 37:21Speaker 2: getting home? Do I stay here in the hotel for
- 37:24Speaker 2: ten twelve days? That was my dilemma? What do I do?
- 37:29Speaker 2: But I did get sick, eventually I did. Yeah, it
- 37:33Speaker 2: took me about four days and now I got real sick.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Yeah, did you do anything during those four days? Were
- 37:37Speaker 3: you taking vitamins nothing, why not? I don't take vitamins
- 37:41Speaker 3: what I don't really No, I'll come and you're married
- 37:45Speaker 3: to a doctor.
- 37:46Speaker 2: I never I never have to taken vitamins. I don't
- 37:48Speaker 2: know really, even when you're playing. No, not take a
- 37:51Speaker 2: B twelve shot.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Okay, well I give it to myself. You give it
- 37:54Speaker 3: to yourself.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Intramuscular huh yeah, Okay, a little tube, wo'd take it
- 37:58Speaker 3: after bound had them in a big bag. Okay, that's
- 38:01Speaker 3: good for energy.
- 38:02Speaker 2: But there's hot hot tired. But yeah, sure too. Though
- 38:07Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with MRI machines, pet scans, surgery. No, no,
- 38:12Speaker 2: I got a bad heap right now. I'm telling you, Joe,
- 38:14Speaker 2: it's killing me. Yeah, and I got it injected. Then
- 38:19Speaker 2: stem cells with No, I don't do themselves. Why not?
- 38:22Speaker 2: I don't believe in stem cells.
- 38:24Speaker 3: You don't believe in them, No, but you believe in
- 38:25Speaker 3: that little baby Jesus.
- 38:28Speaker 2: For this, I do believe in laugh that, Joe. You
- 38:33Speaker 2: don't want to laugh when I got Baby Jesus pointing that,
- 38:35Speaker 2: you better cut that.
- 38:36Speaker 3: Laughing bro go fishing. I'm going to beg you to
- 38:40Speaker 3: point that baby. No, No, I'm gonna give you one.
- 38:42Speaker 3: I got hundreds of these if we go fishing. I
- 38:45Speaker 3: really want to point I believe, Yeah, I believe that
- 38:48Speaker 3: little baby Jesus works. My question is you don't believe
- 38:51Speaker 3: in stem cells.
- 38:55Speaker 2: I had too many people based just on people that
- 38:59Speaker 2: went did stem cells? Huh? And what happened? They went
- 39:04Speaker 2: back and did it again?
- 39:05Speaker 3: Okay?
- 39:05Speaker 2: Did it again? Right? Then what happened?
- 39:08Speaker 3: What happened?
- 39:08Speaker 2: They went back and did it again?
- 39:10Speaker 3: Okay?
- 39:10Speaker 2: Then what happened?
- 39:11Speaker 3: What happened?
- 39:12Speaker 2: They went back and did it again? Got it? Okay?
- 39:14Speaker 3: Right?
- 39:14Speaker 2: Why they keep going back because it didn't work? Okay,
- 39:17Speaker 2: it didn't make it all? Symptoms came, no, no, no,
- 39:19Speaker 2: it worked. It worked for a little bit.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Right, Well, what are these people dealing with? What's wrong
- 39:24Speaker 3: with them?
- 39:24Speaker 2: They're going back and back and back. Mostly knees, run ankles.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Okay, so you're probably talking about arthritis. Yeah, probably talking
- 39:33Speaker 3: about degenerative knee conditions, angle matitions. So the amount of
- 39:38Speaker 3: damage that you're trying to repair with stem cells, you're
- 39:42Speaker 3: going to get a little bit of benefit at something
- 39:43Speaker 3: like that if it's that far gone. But stem cells work.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I don't you know? Good? I'm glad I'm glad they
- 39:50Speaker 2: you do symptails. What what hurts?
- 39:53Speaker 3: When I had a rotator cuff tear that completely went away,
- 39:56Speaker 3: Now that's at least a.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Year, that's what you say, at least they I had
- 40:00Speaker 2: a full.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Length rotator cuff tear. I got stem cell shot into it,
- 40:04Speaker 3: full tar, full tear. My doctor told me I one
- 40:08Speaker 3: was going to need surgery. I went to an orthopedic
- 40:10Speaker 3: surgeon that the UFC recommended, so they sat finish.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Joe, excuse me, please, But if I finished this, I'm
- 40:16Speaker 2: probably gonna believe you.
- 40:18Speaker 3: You don't have to believe me or not believe me.
- 40:20Speaker 3: I'm telling the truth. So I went to this doctor.
- 40:22Speaker 3: He said, you have a full length rotator cuff tear.
- 40:25Speaker 3: You're gonna need surgery. Goes. You could rehabit if you want,
- 40:27Speaker 3: You could try maybe make it a little bit better,
- 40:29Speaker 3: but ultimately you're just putting off the surgery. So I
- 40:32Speaker 3: get this stem cell treatment in Vegas. Doctor Roddy McGhee
- 40:35Speaker 3: hooks me up with the stem cell treatment and then
- 40:38Speaker 3: six months later he gives me an MRI and he says,
- 40:41Speaker 3: the rotator tough tear is completely gone. He goes, I've
- 40:44Speaker 3: never seen anything like this in my life. He goes,
- 40:46Speaker 3: it's gone. It literally the tear.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Doesn't Baby Jesus in your pocket.
- 40:50Speaker 3: No, I had siance. All right, Hey, it works. You'd
- 40:56Speaker 3: be silly to ignore breakthrough science like this because there's
- 41:01Speaker 3: a reason why so many people are doing it. The
- 41:02Speaker 3: reason why so many people are doing it is, Look,
- 41:04Speaker 3: it's not a miracle. It's not gonna fix things are unfixable,
- 41:08Speaker 3: like bone on bone arthritis. It's not gonna fix what
- 41:10Speaker 3: I'm doing, but it might reduce some of the inflammation
- 41:12Speaker 3: to give you at least temporary relief, which is why
- 41:14Speaker 3: these people keep going back again and again and again.
- 41:17Speaker 2: When I got cancer, I had to do certain treatments
- 41:22Speaker 2: and I have rheumatorid arthritis. Now, if I were still
- 41:25Speaker 2: in my rheumat arthritis medicine, which I haven't been for
- 41:29Speaker 2: three years now, I probably wouldn't be having the pain
- 41:33Speaker 2: that I'm having. But you can't take the rheumatoid arthritis
- 41:37Speaker 2: after you have radiation, and so do you want to
- 41:43Speaker 2: risk that? Plus plus I kept getting all these cancer things.
- 41:49Speaker 3: So you had two types of cancer, right, you had skin.
- 41:51Speaker 2: Had bladder and merkele sale, which is two percent of
- 41:54Speaker 2: America has two percent has mercle sale, both of them.
- 41:58Speaker 2: The bladder cancer was was uh. I went to a
- 42:03Speaker 2: doctor in Dallas. He checked me and he says, well,
- 42:07Speaker 2: you got a little blood and you're yuine, but that's fine,
- 42:09Speaker 2: that's normal or something like that. And I kept complaining.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Then I went on. Finally I told my wife. I said, boy,
- 42:16Speaker 2: something's not right. And so she researched and found that
- 42:19Speaker 2: the best doctor was at Yale University. Yeah, Yale. So
- 42:22Speaker 2: I went up to New Haven, Connecticut for testing, went
- 42:26Speaker 2: in exploratory biopsy, came out and said, you got a
- 42:30Speaker 2: lot of cancer. Wow, that's a funny story about that
- 42:35Speaker 2: funny story that there's nothing funny about cancer. But I
- 42:40Speaker 2: the last time I got divorced. You ever been divorced? Okay, good,
- 42:43Speaker 2: good for you. So the last time I got divorced,
- 42:47Speaker 2: my wife calls me in. She says, I need for
- 42:50Speaker 2: you to sit down. I don't love you anymore. I
- 42:53Speaker 2: want a divorce. Oh all right, end of that story. Right.
- 43:00Speaker 2: The wife's sitting outside after they get she gets reports.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I didn't know she got the report. She says, honey,
- 43:07Speaker 2: I need for you to sit down. I ain't sitting
- 43:11Speaker 2: down I don't want another divorce. That's the first flatten
- 43:17Speaker 2: into my head. The last time I heard a woman
- 43:20Speaker 2: tell me sit down, I need for you to sit down.
- 43:22Speaker 2: My ass is out of there. At five o'clock that afternoon. Boy, hey,
- 43:29Speaker 2: yeah that was I wouldn't sit down. She said, she said,
- 43:32Speaker 2: you got bladder cancer, and I said, all right, I
- 43:36Speaker 2: deal with bladder cancer. I can't deal with another divorce.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I want to hear a crazy story about stem cells
- 43:41Speaker 3: and bladder. Let me ask you something, let me tell
- 43:45Speaker 3: you something. Let me tell you something about stem cells.
- 43:47Speaker 3: They made a bladder for this woman out of stem cells.
- 43:50Speaker 3: She had some sort of a bladder issue. I don't
- 43:53Speaker 3: remember if it was cancer or what it was, but
- 43:55Speaker 3: she had ever a bladder removed. They made a completely
- 43:57Speaker 3: new bladder for her out of stem cells with her
- 44:00Speaker 3: own skin tissue, put it back in her body, and
- 44:04Speaker 3: now that's her bladder. So stem cells work.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Did that make the news?
- 44:09Speaker 3: Yeah, oh sure, there's there's articles about the peer reviewed
- 44:12Speaker 3: paper's been here. No, she has not been here, nor
- 44:14Speaker 3: has the doctor that did it. But I'm aware of
- 44:17Speaker 3: the story.
- 44:17Speaker 2: It's like putting it in a bowl and you grow
- 44:19Speaker 2: it in a bowling.
- 44:20Speaker 3: I don't know how they did it because I'm a moron.
- 44:22Speaker 3: But someone someone.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Very when its stuff like that, someone very.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Smart figured out how to make a bladder.
- 44:28Speaker 2: But I won't sure you and you believe it? Or
- 44:30Speaker 2: who am?
- 44:30Speaker 3: I ton't believe it? Like she she's got a blatter.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Now if you believe what, fine, But I mean, I
- 44:36Speaker 2: mean fine, that's listen.
- 44:38Speaker 3: If you ever get injured, holler at me. I'll bring
- 44:41Speaker 3: it aways to well, get you some stem cells, and
- 44:43Speaker 3: then we'll have another conversation. Afterwards you're like, wow, it
- 44:45Speaker 3: fixed it.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Yeah. We're not arguing here.
- 44:47Speaker 3: No, we're not arguing, but I'm saying, but I just
- 44:50Speaker 3: there's there's real reasons why these people travel the tea
- 44:55Speaker 3: wanna and go to these different places.
- 44:57Speaker 2: They die. What was a great actor? They went to
- 45:02Speaker 2: Mexico to have all the stem cells done? And who
- 45:06Speaker 2: did that? He was the ghost? What was his name?
- 45:11Speaker 2: The actor also died. Two actors went down there for
- 45:17Speaker 2: stem cells. When Steve Selles first came out. You know
- 45:19Speaker 2: they wouldn't do it, remember when they wouldn't do it
- 45:21Speaker 2: in America. Yes, So they were going to Germany. They they
- 45:24Speaker 2: were going to Mexico.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Germany was a lot for Regina kin You know
- 45:28Speaker 3: they were going.
- 45:29Speaker 2: For because I know Fred Couples was going to Germany.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Well, I mean Kobe Bryant went to Germany, Peyton Manning
- 45:35Speaker 3: went to Germany. They went to Germany. Yeah, for Regina Keene.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Which is like a very that's not stem cells as much.
- 45:41Speaker 3: That's something it's it's a very advanced form of platelet
- 45:45Speaker 3: rich plasma like p r P. It's like pr P,
- 45:48Speaker 3: but it's way more effective. I had that done too,
- 45:51Speaker 3: That cured at a bulging disc for me.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Now one of the things they're doing now and I
- 45:55Speaker 2: don't know what it is. I don't know how we
- 45:56Speaker 2: got on this, by the way, but stem cells, Yeah,
- 46:00Speaker 2: but cancer is now what are they what is what's
- 46:04Speaker 2: it called? Will you go in? They spin your blood
- 46:07Speaker 2: and they then put it back in you what is
- 46:11Speaker 2: that called? You? You know what PRP?
- 46:13Speaker 3: We're just talking about rich plasma then put it back in.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, interesting.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Look there's a well there's a bunch of differently plasma foresis.
- 46:22Speaker 3: That's another thing. They take the plasma out.
- 46:25Speaker 2: I don't know why. And I'm not sitting here. I'm
- 46:29Speaker 2: not sitting here saying Hey, Joe, you're crazy. All right,
- 46:33Speaker 2: you did it.
- 46:33Speaker 3: You wouldn't be the first.
- 46:34Speaker 2: No, you did it. You believe in it. It happened
- 46:37Speaker 2: for you, you know, all right. I don't mind taking a shot.
- 46:41Speaker 2: I'll take a shot all day long. You know. If
- 46:44Speaker 2: you put anything in your body with a.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Needle, anything, I mean, I'm pretty careful about it.
- 46:51Speaker 2: I would hope.
- 46:52Speaker 3: So, yeah, I don't just try it out. What happens?
- 46:55Speaker 3: I put this in my body with a needle?
- 46:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's I got a sister in law, this
- 47:01Speaker 2: one that's totally this way and I'm totally that way
- 47:04Speaker 2: and you're one way. And that's good. That's what makes.
- 47:08Speaker 3: Me a liberal.
- 47:14Speaker 2: No, absolutely, not very muchservative.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so how is she different than you?
- 47:20Speaker 6: What?
- 47:21Speaker 2: Well? If so, if it works, and I think it's
- 47:25Speaker 2: going to work, I'm not afraid to try it. I was.
- 47:29Speaker 2: I was when I got diagnosis with rheumatory arthritis and
- 47:34Speaker 2: I'm laying in the hospital and they take me and
- 47:36Speaker 2: they isolate me, isolate me because they didn't know what's
- 47:40Speaker 2: wrong with test test test test boy. I'm in hurry
- 47:47Speaker 2: then to go in and do I want to say
- 47:52Speaker 2: stem cells? I want to say it because that's the
- 47:54Speaker 2: first thing that comes to mind, went into my knee.
- 47:59Speaker 2: And I sat in the hospital for two more days
- 48:02Speaker 2: and felt fine, and then they released me and I
- 48:04Speaker 2: went home. And I was home one day and in
- 48:09Speaker 2: the middle of the night, I'm screaming and hollering in pain.
- 48:12Speaker 2: My wife she gets up and thank god I at
- 48:16Speaker 2: that time I owned a plane, so I could get
- 48:18Speaker 2: on the plane and get back to Florida and got
- 48:23Speaker 2: down there, and that's when they found out I had
- 48:24Speaker 2: a rumor toward arthritis, and they had to bring us
- 48:28Speaker 2: specialist in to find out what the hell was going
- 48:30Speaker 2: on with So is it only the knees? Yeah, only
- 48:32Speaker 2: the knee. Okay, only the knee. That's where the knee.
- 48:36Speaker 2: I never there's no There's no rheumatar arthritis in my family. None.
- 48:40Speaker 2: You get anywhere.
- 48:42Speaker 3: Arthritis systemic, don't you when most people have it, don't
- 48:44Speaker 3: they have it everywhere? That's what I thought, Well, yeah,
- 48:48Speaker 3: but look at but if you have it inn But look,
- 48:50Speaker 3: this finger's just turning, that thumb's just now turning.
- 48:54Speaker 2: My hands right now because I'm not I don't take
- 48:58Speaker 2: any medicine. The only thing that hurts in the morning
- 49:01Speaker 2: before I take I take a Do you take celebrates?
- 49:04Speaker 2: Do you believe in celebrate? Anti inflammatory? No? I don't. Okay,
- 49:08Speaker 2: I take an inflammatory in the morning. Okay, I take
- 49:12Speaker 2: an anti inflamma and that makes that takes about eighty
- 49:15Speaker 2: percent of the pain away. It doesn't hurt anywhere else.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Now my hip is starting to kill me. My ankle
- 49:24Speaker 2: was killing me. How about how many years did you
- 49:26Speaker 2: play football?
- 49:26Speaker 8: For?
- 49:26Speaker 2: Fourteen? Fourteen professional? That's four that's high school, junior, high,
- 49:30Speaker 2: high school, college, professional. And I and I played back
- 49:34Speaker 2: in the seventies, when I mean, come on, yeah, should
- 49:39Speaker 2: hit the fan back then? Right? What were the surgeries
- 49:41Speaker 2: like that then? You know? Yeah, I mean it was
- 49:43Speaker 2: tough back then. They shoot you up. You know you're
- 49:48Speaker 2: going to play. That's how it was. You're going to play.
- 49:50Speaker 2: When I pull my stomach muscles and they shoot me
- 49:54Speaker 2: up before the game, and then at halftime, I get
- 49:58Speaker 2: shot up again. The stomach blo I torn, I torn
- 50:01Speaker 2: the the oblique, he.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Tore yr oblique and they just made you keep playing.
- 50:06Speaker 2: They didn't make me, but I warned to keep playing.
- 50:09Speaker 3: What were they shooting you up with cortison or something?
- 50:11Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know, Joe, I'm not a doctor.
- 50:15Speaker 2: Come on, man, are you a doctor? Hey, let me
- 50:18Speaker 2: just say this. I could play all right. I guess
- 50:20Speaker 2: I did have a problem with it. Okay, it worked, scary.
- 50:23Speaker 2: You don't want your legs up in the air. And
- 50:25Speaker 2: some doctor coming in there and didn't give it, didn't
- 50:28Speaker 2: give it a thought at all. You know, just it's
- 50:32Speaker 2: it's kind of the way it was. It's it was
- 50:35Speaker 2: the unspoken bravado, got it? Yeah, you know that football
- 50:41Speaker 2: players say back in the can you imagine the fifties
- 50:44Speaker 2: and the sixties, shees.
- 50:46Speaker 3: Louise, Well, what what year did you start playing professionally?
- 50:49Speaker 3: Seven seventy seventy Wow, I'm seventy seven. Wow, you're what
- 50:56Speaker 3: fifty fifty eight, fifty almost fifty nine?
- 50:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm seventy. Yeah. So he just didn't think that
- 51:03Speaker 2: anybody said, well, how'd you get used to all that?
- 51:05Speaker 2: I grew up with it. When you grow up with it, it's normal. Normal. Yeah,
- 51:10Speaker 2: it's all part of that you play. And as a quarterback,
- 51:13Speaker 2: I think back then or anytime quarterbacks play, coaches got
- 51:17Speaker 2: to know that he can rely on his quarterback to
- 51:19Speaker 2: be out there and no matter what. And I even
- 51:22Speaker 2: had one coach say, hey, you always play hurt. You
- 51:27Speaker 2: always play hurt. Yeah, I do. You don't shoot me up,
- 51:32Speaker 2: it's dock it. Shoot me up with stuff? Yea, let's
- 51:35Speaker 2: have it stuff.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Yeah. You don't ask what it is, You just just
- 51:40Speaker 2: you want to hear. We played Cincinnati one year and
- 51:44Speaker 2: the night before the game there's a lineup of players
- 51:48Speaker 2: going into a room to be shot up. Whoa, yo, Yeah,
- 51:54Speaker 2: it's just normal.
- 51:56Speaker 3: And you don't know what they were shooting them up with.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Well we played, I told you stuff and you didn't
- 52:06Speaker 2: think anything of it. Nobody, right, It is normal, normal, normal.
- 52:11Speaker 3: You gotta play.
- 52:11Speaker 2: Yeah, he three, it's part of the you know, everybody is.
- 52:16Speaker 2: You know, did they have steroids back then? Yeah? They did.
- 52:20Speaker 2: I just didn't. I didn't know why why one player
- 52:24Speaker 2: was built like atlas, skin tight, muscles, bulging, didn't know
- 52:30Speaker 2: any you know, didn't know anything about it. Howie Long,
- 52:34Speaker 2: you never had Howie on the Howie's No, I've never
- 52:36Speaker 2: had how He's amazing how he tells this story. He
- 52:40Speaker 2: was a rookie defensive tackle or no defensive end at
- 52:43Speaker 2: this time. He lined up over our Tidan Larry Brown,
- 52:46Speaker 2: whose arms were this big around and he was had
- 52:48Speaker 2: like a twenty two inch waist, massive legs, ripped every
- 52:52Speaker 2: muscle you could see the muscles in his most gorgeous
- 52:56Speaker 2: body on a human being you've ever seen. And he
- 52:59Speaker 2: put his he put his arm, he put his arm down,
- 53:02Speaker 2: you know, getting in position, and how he lined up
- 53:05Speaker 2: over and then how he tells us how he's the best,
- 53:07Speaker 2: and how he goes. You gotta be effing kidding me.
- 53:12Speaker 2: He said he'd never seen anything like that. So I'm
- 53:16Speaker 2: not saying Larry steroids or anything like that, but he was.
- 53:20Speaker 2: But he might have, might have.
- 53:22Speaker 3: I don't know, he might have.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Yeah, here did steroids enter into sports? Well, I think
- 53:27Speaker 2: it came. I think it became an issue after the seventies.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Correct, Well, it was an issue in the Olympics and well, yeah,
- 53:35Speaker 3: the things that were noticing, the Eastern Bloc women they were.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Okay, Nancy, they were very.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Womenly they they seem to. And then those women reported
- 53:48Speaker 3: about it, They talked about it back in the day.
- 53:50Speaker 3: You know that they were forced to take steroids and
- 53:52Speaker 3: it ruined their life and not good for you, especially
- 53:56Speaker 3: for a woman to take. For male for sure, you
- 54:01Speaker 3: and I.
- 54:01Speaker 2: You and I could probably sit here and talk about
- 54:06Speaker 2: certain athletes that it had such a body change, all right,
- 54:10Speaker 2: yeah for sure, and go, you know, yeah, gotta be
- 54:15Speaker 2: kidding me. Yeah, And then I think rightly or justifiably,
- 54:20Speaker 2: so it was probably due to steroids. We wouldn't want
- 54:25Speaker 2: to say that, wouldn't.
- 54:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but well, I know a lot of guys
- 54:28Speaker 3: were taking steroids, especially because of the early days of
- 54:31Speaker 3: the UFC. Everybody was taking steroids. Yeah, you can tried.
- 54:35Speaker 3: In Japan everyone was taking steroids. Not everyone, but most
- 54:40Speaker 3: people Rampage didn't. But there's a good you.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Found out when you found out later that steroids are
- 54:46Speaker 2: not good for you. They softened the tendons and ligaments,
- 54:49Speaker 2: and you know, and then all of a sudden, these
- 54:51Speaker 2: athletes start having problems. They start getting hurt, they start
- 54:54Speaker 2: getting hurt, start getting hurt, and you know.
- 54:57Speaker 3: I think what happens is the muscles are too strong
- 54:59Speaker 3: for the tendons. These tendons take too long, ud they
- 55:02Speaker 3: don't grow at the same pace as muscle tissue does.
- 55:05Speaker 2: When you're on steroids. They don't have the same sort
- 55:06Speaker 2: of circulation. I only thing about star I don't know.
- 55:08Speaker 2: I don't know the dynamics or the physy physy physics
- 55:12Speaker 2: of it. I know, the muscles get big, right, but
- 55:15Speaker 2: the tendons don't grow.
- 55:18Speaker 3: But it is muscles exactly. It takes longer for tendons
- 55:22Speaker 3: to strengthen. Tendons don't have as much circulation, they don't
- 55:25Speaker 3: have a good blood supply. That's why it's so hard
- 55:26Speaker 3: when a tendant gets injured injured to heal. So uh,
- 55:30Speaker 3: what happens a lot of times is these guys developed
- 55:32Speaker 3: these massive muscles and they can move so much more weight,
- 55:35Speaker 3: but the tendons haven't really caught up to what the
- 55:37Speaker 3: muscles can do. And a lot of times these guys
- 55:39Speaker 3: wind up blowing out tendons.
- 55:41Speaker 2: I mean, the the that wrestling bunch. I mean, every
- 55:44Speaker 2: one of those guys look like an Adonis.
- 55:45Speaker 3: Oh yeah, especially back in the day. Schwarzenegger is there. Yeah,
- 55:51Speaker 3: well he's open about it.
- 55:52Speaker 2: You know, he took a lot of you know what,
- 55:55Speaker 2: we know what someone say it Yeah, yeah, they're not stupid.
- 55:58Speaker 3: Well, that's a sport where it's required if you want
- 56:00Speaker 3: to be mister Olympia. It's no, there's no way to
- 56:02Speaker 3: get that kind of a body without starbuds. It doesn't exist.
- 56:05Speaker 2: What about the what about the WrestleMania bunch, you were
- 56:09Speaker 2: part of that?
- 56:10Speaker 3: I'm sure I wasn't. I wasn't a part of that,
- 56:12Speaker 3: but I'm.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Sure a bunch of those no, no, no, okay.
- 56:14Speaker 3: No, but I'm sure a bunch of those guys probably
- 56:16Speaker 3: take it too. That's how you get big, you know.
- 56:19Speaker 3: And if you're a wrestler and you want to be
- 56:20Speaker 3: on Wrestleman, if you want to be a professional wrestler,
- 56:23Speaker 3: you want to be this hulking figure, there's one way
- 56:25Speaker 3: to do it.
- 56:25Speaker 2: You got to take steroids.
- 56:27Speaker 3: You know.
- 56:27Speaker 2: It's not a normal physique for someone to attain, and
- 56:30Speaker 2: you don't get tested for it exactly.
- 56:32Speaker 3: That's why the early days of the UFC there was
- 56:34Speaker 3: no testing, and then when it started getting sanctioned, then
- 56:38Speaker 3: we were tested by Athletic Commissions. And then eventually the
- 56:41Speaker 3: UFC realized we've got a real problem where these guys
- 56:43Speaker 3: are figuring out how to beat the Athletic Commissions testing
- 56:47Speaker 3: because it's only one day, so it's really more they
- 56:50Speaker 3: would call it an intelligence test rather than an IQ test. Yeah,
- 56:54Speaker 3: And so then they started using USADA, and USADA would
- 56:57Speaker 3: just randomly test people, and then they started catching people,
- 56:59Speaker 3: and that's when physiques really changed.
- 57:01Speaker 2: I you know that year, I'll say it that year
- 57:07Speaker 2: when those baseball players are hitting sixty home runs like
- 57:11Speaker 2: it was nothing. Yeah, and you're looking at them and
- 57:13Speaker 2: going geesh.

- 58:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that was the best. Yeah.
- 58:18Speaker 3: They should give them all steroids. It's the only time
- 58:21Speaker 3: baseball's fun.
- 58:22Speaker 2: O what it was. Yeah, the viewers were tuning Dan
- 58:27Speaker 2: one hundred percent.
- 58:28Speaker 3: Yeah, the Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosad days, Barry Bonds, Yeah, Barry.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Went from one to.
- 58:38Speaker 3: I met Barry when he was normal sized, when he
- 58:41Speaker 3: was like a normal athlete, and then he just got giant.
- 58:43Speaker 3: But also he was a great baseball player first first,
- 58:46Speaker 3: and then you give him all those steroids, and now
- 58:48Speaker 3: he's got all this muscle and he's just cracking them out.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Of the park. Those are the good old days. They
- 58:53Speaker 2: should have looked away. They should have turned their head away.
- 58:58Speaker 3: Boy, I'll tell you, I don't see nothing. They should
- 59:00Speaker 3: have everybody should have shut the fuck up and let
- 59:02Speaker 3: these guys take steroids. Let's go. Do you like home
- 59:06Speaker 3: runs are not? Let's go.
- 59:11Speaker 2: That it's from Joe Rogan. We'll be back in a minute.
- 59:14Speaker 3: The problem is it's the Great American pastime, and you
- 59:16Speaker 3: don't want to associate the Great American pastime with what
- 59:19Speaker 3: people think is cheating. But that's yeah.
- 59:23Speaker 2: Look, there's guys that didn't need to do it to
- 59:26Speaker 2: be in the Hall of Fame, and they're getting barred
- 59:28Speaker 2: from the Hall of Fame. That's true. Barry's one. I Bury.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Barry was a great player with.
- 59:32Speaker 3: That fantastic player, Mark is Mark Maguire and so Sami.
- 59:36Speaker 2: Yeah, didn't need it. I don't. Maybe maybe they didn't
- 59:40Speaker 2: think they'd be noticed. Maybe they didn't they could get caught.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Maybe the guys got giant.
- 59:45Speaker 3: I don't know how they didn't think that people would
- 59:47Speaker 3: notice they got they got enormous, Yeah, for sure, But
- 59:51Speaker 3: you know, hey, it.
- 59:52Speaker 2: Is what it is.
- 59:53Speaker 3: I mean it was a fun time though, yeah, fun.
- 59:57Speaker 2: Time, you know. I remember people asked me, they said,
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: you didn't know your guys are on stair Wars, and hell,
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: I didn't know what ster wars was. I remember one
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: time I was at the Hall of Fame. Someone that
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: was the question that came to me about steroids. I
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: didn't know any better. I said, well, hell, everybody take steroids.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: I took steroids for this, you know, but not antibiotics. Still, right, Yeah,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't correlate the two different the differences
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: in one guy comes up to me, you idiot, it's
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: it's there's two types at least that we know of,
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: and I didn't know, you know, what. Let me tell
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: you the truth. I'm glad. I'm glad that I was blindfolded.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: I'm glad my brain didn't function like that. I'm glad
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: I didn't look at anybody and go, what's you own?
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: I don't look. I just held out. Just they're lifting weights, brother,
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: they just lifting weights. God bless them.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: You know, Well, that's a good attitude to have.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and then they say, well, your team was on steroids. Well,
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: if that's the case, wasn't illegal. Everybody was doing it right.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Not only that, but let's be realistic, most teams were
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: on steroids because you're professionals and you want to do
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: your best. And if you got a bunch of guys
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: and the way they could do their best is to
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: be as strong as they possibly can be, they're gonna
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: take steroids, especially when it's legal. It's just especially.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: You don't want to say it was a product of
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: the times, but in essence it was.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: Well, every time the times changed. When there's something effective
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: that comes along, like steroids, you're gonna have a bunch
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: of people that want an edge. And you know, there
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: was a time where people thought of creatine like steroids. Yeah, right,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: Creatine is a very beneficial supplement that everybody should take.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: It's great for your brain, it's great for mitochondrial function,
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: it's great.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: For Blueberries are good for your brain. Blueberries are good
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: for frank O Harris, She said, tell me, Brad, are
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: you eating a lot of blueberries? I said, frank You're
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: not gonna believe this, but I buy blueberries all the
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: time because of you. It's good for your brain. Good
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: for your brain, they are. And I love brewberry.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of antioxidants in them too.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Blueberries are just great period.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: But you know, when you're doing things for your body,
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: when you're a professional athlete, it's of course there's gonna
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: be a bunch of people that are on steroids like you.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: If you want to get bigger, that's the way to
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: do it. Like, what are we doing here? Were lying?
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I think they do it today?
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: Do you think they don't do it today?
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: That's the real question I asked you.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: They definitely do something. They do whatever the fuck they
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: can get away to.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: How big these kids are coming?
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Oho, Well, there's also genetics, like people change.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Well, kids kids now days are eating.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Better, training better, eat better, more nutrition.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Exactly exactly, They're huge they're huge. You know, I think
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: my I think my offensive line in the seventies average
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: about maybe to sixty to sixty wow.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: Sixty hundred pounds difference than today.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Right now, you're love of these coaches. My offensive line
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: this year is gonna be six five three seventy two.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: And you go, whoa, Now can they move? And then
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: say something like, but got quick feet? Okay, got quick feet?
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: I love quick feet.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: It's crazy when you see some of these guys doing
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: the forty.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: You go, you've been on the sideline.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: I watched videos, haven't been go to the sideline.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Go to seven feet.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: Tall, four hundred and forty pounds. That guy fifty feet crazy,
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: seven eighty Oh my god, look at that as an
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: eighth grader. Go back to that picture. As an eighth grader.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: He was six foot ten, four hundred and fifty pounds
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: in fucking junior high school. Junior high school. Yeah, you
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: know Desmond Weston. Look at the Desmond Watson going four
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: hundred and sixty four pounds, heaviest player.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Wow. Oh he's in the NFL.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: Yeah, NFL history, four hundred and sixty four pounds. That's
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: so big.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Here's what I'll say, about my guys. My guys could
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: put on their pants that nothing rolled over.
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Oh, I see what you're saying.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they were flat belly. They were in shape because
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: we ran and we ran. Our game was all about
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: motion traps and specials and leads and stuff like that.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: They had to run. They had to run, and they ran.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: And if they were four hundred pounds, you're gonna pull
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: this guy right right under pounds. I mean, so, I
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: if I were coached today, just my my thinking, what
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: I want. I want an athletic guy. I don't want
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: a big guy. I want I don't want a guy
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: that you go, all right, we're gonna do gassers, Billy
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: John Williams, William Arrol, uh, y'all go ahead and go
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: on and get shower now, three eighty. Whether they camp,
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: they can run gassers, they can run gassers, right, you know,
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: run the mile. We had to run a Steeler mile
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: every year and we got training camp. Well, if you're
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: three hundred and twenty five thirty pounds, now, I don't
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: want to pigeonhole everybody because there are some guys I've
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: seen in the NFL that I've walked by before the
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: game started, and I turned it to Howe, how he's
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: always that, we're always together, and went, hold, isn't there
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: a utility though?
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: Isn't there a value a function of a big, giant
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: dude that maybe can't run gassers but can stop but
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: play dead in its tracks because you run into a
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: brick wall.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Right, Maybe he's only got to go five yards, That's
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Oh yeah, yeah, But that wasn't how
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: I was brought up, right, that wasn't what I was taught.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: But obviously you're a fan of the game still and
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: you still watch the game. How much has the game
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: changed from when like nineteen seventy your first year and.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Talking about it?
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: But like big, but would you imagine that the guys
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: from nineteen seventy would fit right into today's game?
- 1:05:44Speaker 9: Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, besize Joe Green
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: made the Hall of Fame at two seventy five, seventy five, Uh,
- 1:05:54Speaker 9: Jack Lambert to eighteen a middle linebacker Hall of Famer Jack.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Calm Big was Jim Brown in his prime? Jim Brown.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: I never played against Jim Brown.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: It was before your time. I think it was Jim.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Probably twenty maybe two fifteen that crazy. Yeah, So I
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: always I always say size wise, we can't do it.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: And then of course you want to really get into it,
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: then talk about money and stuff like that. But size wise, sizewase. Now,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: I will say this, the wide receivers, the quarterbacks and
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: running backs could play today and probably the tide ends.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: But then when you get my center way two fifty two,
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: and I always say, since I'm in the cattle business,
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: I'll take a little young bull. I'll take my angus
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: bull over your Charlotte bull. Anytime your charbalt bull is
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: gonna be or seminole is gonna be huge up off
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: the ground, but my angus bull is gonna get under
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: him and be able to control him with with with
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: with technique. And wait a minute, you got bulls fighting
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: each other as no, Joe, you're not listening. You're okay,
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: you get some rest last night, just okay, fully rested. Right. Yeah,
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: got a big bull, the little bull, he's already got
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: the leverage because he's under the big ball.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Got it.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: The big bulls got to get down to get leverage
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: on the lever. He's got all the masks and the
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: weight out numbers.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: Sort of like Mike Tyson in his prime, right, the bad.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Sucker, bad, bad bad. He came in a restaurant I
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: was in and he saw him, and he came over
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: and he pulled up a chair. There was an owl
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: and I'm sitting up here next to the wall, and
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: then there's dinner chairs here. He went over, he pulled
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: up a chair, slid over, blocked the isle, and we
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: talked about Johnny and Ninas for an hour. Wow, Mike Tyson,
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: that's pretty cool.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: Well, he's a giant fan of all kinds of athletes,
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: you know. I mean, that guy studies, He studies warriors
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: and athletes and former generals, and he's, Oh, he knows
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: so much about Jengis Khan me and we had this
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: long conversation. He knew his original name about Khan. Yeah,
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: I did. I knew a lot about it. Well, not
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: a lot, I would say, but I got pretty obsessed.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: And there's a guy named Dan Carlin. He's got a
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: fantastic series called Hardcore History. It's a podcast, and he
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: had the series on Genghis Khan called The Wrath of
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: the Khan. And that that that got me obsessed. That
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: opened up the door and then I started reading books
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: on Genghis Khan and watching documentaries and I got obsessed.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a huge documentary guy.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: But he knew so much about Genghis kan He knew
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: his original name, which was Temagen. He knew his whole
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: story about how he was born with a blood clot
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: in his hand. Mike knew everything about it. Mike studies
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: like conquerors. You know, He's like really, yeah, he's a
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: very smart guy. Mike is a very interesting guy. He's
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: not He's not what people think of. If you think
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: of Mike Tyson's being this like mindless destroyer, and he's
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: very intelligent.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: He ever, he ever? Ever you ever think about why
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: do athletes? I have an image? My image was the
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: guy you ever have you ever asked yourself a question?
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: Why why is your opinion about Mike Tyson so different?
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Now since you interviewed him? But prior to that that
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: wasn't out in the press, was it? No?
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: I mean maybe his career, but you'd have to watch
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: a guy fight like that, and he fought so brutally,
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: and if you weren't a student of boxing, you wouldn't
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: understand like the amount of thinking that has to take
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: place to get that good, Like, it's not just that
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: he's just running at people and punching them. He's bobbing
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: and weaving, He's being incredibly elusive. He's shifting his weight
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: to the left and shifting his weight through, he's cutting
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: angles like a middleweight. He's doing things to these guys
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: that they've never seen a heavyweight do before. And he
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: also was a giant student of boxing. So his manager
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: was a guy named Jacobs, a short twenty inch neck,
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: I mean, he was a tank. And his manager was
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: this guy Jim Jacobs. Jim Jacobs was a boxing historian,
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: and he had all of these old film reels of
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: everyone from Jack Johnson to Stanley Ketchell to Jack Dempsey,
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: like all the old time fighters, and Mike would watch
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: those on a all day long, so he would train
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: and they watch these guys all day long, so he
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: had an access to film footage that most fighters, all
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: you could see is the guys in the gym and
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: the guys that you saw fight live. Back in those days,
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: in the eighties, there was no there was no VHS tapes,
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: you know, there was no like real tapes of boxing
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: that he could watch back then. So when Mike, this
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: is when Mike was like thirteen. So Mike was thirteen
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: years old, and he's watching film of the greatest Sugar
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: Ray Robinson, the greatest boxers of all time, Willie Pep,
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Rocky Marciano. He's watching all these guys and absorbing their
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: styles and figuring out like it takes intelligence to do that, Like,
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: it's not that's not what a dumb guy would do.
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: A dumb guy wouldn't see.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Oh, when he does this, it's.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Because of that, So he can you avoid the counter
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: and duck underneath and hit him at an angle where
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: he can't hit him. Beautiful. I'm going to incorporate that
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: into my training and figure out how to how to
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: find those patterns.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: And I always thought, because you hear a CounterPunch, do
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: you know how hard? How hard it is? And I'm
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: not a boxer, but when someone's you watch their training
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: and then and then they when does this CounterPunch? Do
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: you know how fast that you do? Not how fast
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: that brain has to work for you to CounterPunch.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: Oh, you have to be lightning fast, lightning fast, and
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: you have to have trained it one thousand times.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: You want to be hit all day long in the
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: face and the stomach.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: It's a tough way to make a living. But so
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: it's football, and especially back when you guys were playing
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: where they.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Were just shooting. Different for sure, but not boxing. Holy
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: I'm at I'm at Mohammed Ali. One time. I was
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: six three and a half. I'm six one and a
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: half now, and I was looking up to him, and
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: I'm sure he wasn't any but I was looking up
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: to him because I was so impressed. And you know,
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: we got we had a we had a great first
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: time meeting. He was a fan of mine. I didn't
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: know it and was like, oh, that made me great.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: And I went to a couple of banquets that he
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: was at and he had send notes down to me
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: to come down and say hello to him. Well, you know,
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I've got to bother him, and I'd go, I'd go down. Hey, hey, Jim,
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: how are you doing? Terry Bradshaw? Yeah, yeah, hey, have
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: you heard this one? He tells me a joke, a joke.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: That's the last thing I expected, you know, for Muhammad Ali. Yeah,
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: but I loved Muhammad Ali.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: That was an incredible, incredibly intelligent guy and also the
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: first guy to figure out how to get attention by.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Talking, and I didn't like him. Did you like him?
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: I loved him, but I didn't like him younger.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: I don't like him. I grew up in an era
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: of respect. You respect your opponent. You don't say anything
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: bad about him, you give him all the praise when
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: it's all said. You respect your pon. You don't show
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: show boat, you don't do anything. You don't run into
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: the end zone, you don't do this. You respect your opponent.
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: And that's the way that I was raised, and that's
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: how and that and actually the way I was coached,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: and I had at I had a hard time, a
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: hard time when Billy white Shoes Johnson of Houston woul
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: getting the end zone. He started doing that dance and everything.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: I don't like it at all. And Billy white Shoes
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: is a he's a good dude, you know, and but
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: I didn't like it. I just don't like. I don't
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: like any athlete drawing attention to himself. If you're playing
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: tennis or golf, okay, that's one thing because it's you.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: But when you're playing a team a team event, everybody,
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: somebody else had to do that job too. I just
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: had a hard.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: See what you're saying, yeah, in the team sport, but
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: in boxing, boxing is just one on one. But I
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: just still didn't like it, even in boxing bragging.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: And now I look back now, of course I love
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: it now. Yeah, but he knew what he was doing.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: Well, it's psychological warfare.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what it is.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: I mean, he had Sonny Listing so confused before he
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: fought him. He would show up at Sonny Liston's house
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: and look the middle of the night and stand on
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: his lawn and scream at him. Yeah, he was just
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: fucking with that guy's head. He's climbing inside of his
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: head and like making sure that all day long he's
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: thinking about him. And he also thought he was a
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: legitimate insane person. Like the way he was acting, he
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: was not acting like a rational person. So he was
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: worried all the time. So he's like, worried, you're around
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: this insane person.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Well, do you ever see the video with it listen
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: if you can do if you can do that and
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: back it up, which he did he did. Then I
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: tip my idea, you did you.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: Ever see the video where they ran into each other
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: at a casino? So Sonny listed was at a casino
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: I think Sonny was playing cards and Muhammad Ali came back.
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: When he was cashis, Clay came up behind him and
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: he starts granting and raving and saying crazy shit and
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: get and Sonny pulls out a gun and shoots it
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: into the air and everybody scatters. It was a blank gun,
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: but he anticipated that Ali was gonna do that to
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: They said, I'm gonna scare the ship out of this.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: You think you want to play crazy, Let's play crazy.
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: See if you can find that video, Jamie. The video
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: is amazing. It's amazing because he just pulls this and
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: then he shows like, shoots here. It is. Put your
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: headphones on real quick. Grub his headphone.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, pull it up.
- 1:15:29Speaker 10: The drawing a gun, Sonny wo.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:32Speaker 10: The whole situation finally came to a head when Clay
- 1:15:35Speaker 10: approached Listen at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas. The
- 1:15:38Speaker 10: champ was shooting craps and losing. Listen was in no
- 1:15:42Speaker 10: mood to be harangued by the Mouth from the South,
- 1:15:45Speaker 10: drawing a gun sunny fire, frightening his young tormenter.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: Into a hasty retreat.
- 1:15:51Speaker 10: It was filled with blanks.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: So he shot the gun into his jacket to show
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: everybody that it was just a blank.
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: So he was prepared crazy. That's pretty smart, is it.
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: Yeah, because like you got, this guy's acting crazy, like
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: I'm gonna out crazy him. I don't want to shoot anybody,
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: but I'm gonna out crazy him. Give me a gun
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: with some blanks. It just put it out.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Alex Bowin had a huge lawsuit because he pulled out
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: whether the gun was a blank and killed somebody.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: I mean that's yes, that was a problem with the
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: person who was handling the guns.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, But what okay, what.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: Do you mean that wasn't Sonny Listen? That absolutely was
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: Sonny Listening says it's from a movie.
- 1:16:39Speaker 8: Bro, that's Sonny let himself dramatizing, retelling his own life.
- 1:16:42Speaker 8: The man with the gun is an actor, not saying,
- 1:16:44Speaker 8: let me see it was the movie set.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: What So it's a recreation of the actual scene that happened.
- 1:16:52Speaker 8: There's no real footage of lifting firing a gun at Ali,
- 1:16:55Speaker 8: not dramatic clip circulating online the one in nearly every
- 1:16:59Speaker 8: rare foot post as a scene from a nineteen seventy
- 1:17:02Speaker 8: seven film called The Greatest.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: Oh I saw that movie, So let me see it again.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: Can I see the video again? That's crazy they are
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: That's crazy. I would have swore.
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: That you're listening to a narrator talk and this one
- 1:17:17Speaker 8: even has a narrator.
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: Wasn't Sunday list and Bald?
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: No, no, Sonny listen bald No. Oh, that isn't Sunny Listed.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Well the video is so blurry.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: Alright, there you have it.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: Wow, that's not Sonny Listing. Oh my god, I feel
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: like such a dumb ass. Find footage of Sonny list
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: in training. So he was for back in the day,
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: he was the scariest heavyweight. Sonny Listing was the guy
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: he was.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: What's upon.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, he went to prison, but it was the way
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: he won the title, the way he knocked out Floyd Patterson.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: It looked like Floyd Patterson had no business being in
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: there with him. He was that good, that good and
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: that big, and a lot of people going into that
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: fight thought Muhammad Ali had no chance. They thought that
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: he was gonna get killed, because you know, Ali was
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: a very good fighter who was up and coming fast,
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: really fast with his footwork and his movement. But everybody
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: thought that it was just a matter of time before
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: Listing got him that's crazy. I recognize that guy. That actor.
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: Is that the actor that was in Magnum p I
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: I think it is. The actor's name is Roger E.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Moseley. Yeah, man, aha, look.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: At you, Look at me.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: You proud of yourself a little bit.
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: I feeling slightly better now, but I'm ashamed of it.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: I realized that that wasn't actually Sunny Listing. So find
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: some footage of Sonny list in training.
- 1:18:43Speaker 8: Even on this some of this I think has already
- 1:18:45Speaker 8: got some AI footage in it.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: But oh really, well, there's fitage this footage of him
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: hitting the ba there, Sonny, and this footage of Sonny
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: hitting the bag, and he would just put these holes
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: in the bag. He had just murderous punching power. He
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: was such a dang derous guy and everyone was scared
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: of him back then, you know, because he was this towering,
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: hulking figure. Doctor Bada had massive hands, and I mean
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: he would brutalize the sparring partners. I mean, Sonny Liston
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: was putting people away. I mean he had look at
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: the size of his hands, just gigantic hands and tremendous power.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: But you know, Ali figured out a way to just.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Punch that took him out was even that big a punch.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: That's the second fight. That's the Lewis in Maine.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: The second one.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the fight when they fought in Lewiston, Maine.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: And that one is very tricky because in that so
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: he would hit guys with jabs and have them rocked
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: his his hands were so massive and his power was
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: so extraordinary.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: You ever boxed?
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: I did some boxing, Yeah, I did not. I did
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: kick boxing, but I didn't do anything like sport boxing boxing.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I get that bad enough. You hit me with
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: your fist, don't kick me with your feet. I don't
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: want to of that. But I boxed one time, one round, Yeah,
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: and I said, that's it, that's it. Yeah.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: Again, it's like cooking. It's like cooking duck. Something you
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: got to learn how to do. You can't just jump
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: in and think you're gonna be good at it.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Yeah at it. Not only that I don't want to
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: be hit, Yeah, not fun.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: Well, back in the day and your your day, the
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: way guys would treat getting hit. If you got hit,
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: there was no like take a game off, get evaluated, no.
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: Nothing, concussion protocol. Hop Right back in son, I played
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: against the Minnesota no the Miami Dolphins in a playoff
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: game and I got knocked out, I mean knocked out,
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: and I guess I came to in the fourth quarter.
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: I went back in, played pretty good too, not bad,
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: lost the game, but yeah, so went.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Woke up and then they put you back in after
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: you woke up.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: Well, I something like that. I went out in the
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: first quarter, I think a scorter on touchdown, kept it,
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: got knocked out, and came back in the fourth quarter. Yeah, different, different, different.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: Nowadays, if a player gets knocked out, how much time
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: do they make them take off?
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: They're going to a tent And now you have a
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: concussion guy in the booth representing the NFL, so they'll
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: tell you get him out right, and they go into
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: a tent and they get evaluated. More than likely, if
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: they've been stunned, they're not going back in.
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: How much time do they make them take off before
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: they let them play again?
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: But they have to get evaluated every week, So it
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: could be what is that.
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: Little baby cigars? So when you don't want to finish
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: a big one, oh little tiny ones, they're little money Cristo's.
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: Oh okay, like these sometimes all.
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: Right, So, but when they do that and these guys
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: are ko today, if they get knocked out, do they
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: have like a thirty day.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: Rule, And no, it's not thirty days, but they do
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: go it's a week. It's they go in. They keep
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: getting keep getting evaluated, and they have to you'll have
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: you'll have some guys.
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: There's no set timeline for discovery there you go well
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: for recovery. Rather, players must progress through these graded exertion
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: phases without any increase in symptoms symptom limited activity, prescribed
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: rest with limited physical and cognitive activity, transitioning to light
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: stretching and monitored light aerobic exercise. So with the UFC,
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: when a guy gets knocked out, generally athletic commissions put
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: a hold on them like like it's a ninety day hold.
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: And then some of them have like sixty day no contacts,
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: so they're not even allowed to spar for sixty days.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: You get knocked out and that brain gets right of
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: like that. If the best game I played in high school,
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: the best game I played in high school, a guy
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: by the name of Larry Brewer. I fumbled coming out
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: of out of the pocket in high school against Mendon
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: high school. I'm rolling to the right and I think
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: the ball hits my leg and it hits the ground
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: and it's barom barum. I'm I'm chasing it. And about
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: the time I get to the ball and get my
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: hands on it, and I picked my head up, boom
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: out out, I don't remember anything. And then I'm back
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: in the game. And I mean, it's the best game
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: I played in high school, Joe, That's serious, best best
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: game I played in high school. Maybe I wasn't worried.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: I don't know, but that's what I was going to
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: ask crazy, you know, and I wanted to I went
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: and listen. I went, I've been to a couple of
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: clinics just for just for brainwork, just to get get
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: them checked out. Yeah, all the tests that they could
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: possibly do, extensive tests. Because I was having trouble remembering
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: that I opened the gate. Then I opened the gate
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: this morning, I opened the gate. I'm sure I opened
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: the gate and I pushed the button. And when the
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: button's green, the gate is moving and then it goes red.
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: It stopped. I mean, it goes yellow. It stopped. Then
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: I push a button, it goes red. It's holding it's
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: staying open six times. I remember six times, and I'm like,
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: did I pushed this? But then I remember I remember, okay,
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: there's something wrong or someone got checked. Yeah, how long
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: ago was this? Years ago? Years? Thirty plus years?
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: And did they do something for you?
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: Carlin? Did they?
- 1:24:24Speaker 11: Uh?
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: No, I don't think so, I don't think. I don't
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: think anything came. I remember testing. I got tested and
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: found out I had a d D, which is which
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: was not a shocker, but was a shocker because I.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: Think everybody has that.
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody's any good at anything, has it.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: Yeah, creative people have a d D.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: Creative people and people that are like really into one thing, yeah,
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: full on into it.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: Well, they said, well you're focused this. Yeah, when I'm fishing,
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: I'm focused. Right when I'm showing horses, I don't have
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: a problem. I'm focused. But if I'm taking geometry or
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: going to check.
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: Exactly, Yeah, no interest exactly, no interest. So yeah, so
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: that if I'm learning something I'm not interested in.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: No focus. I mean, you got to sit here and
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: study all this stuff for all these different people, and
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: I know you've got to be interested in them.
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: You have to be interested.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: Yes, you've got to be here.
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: But then these people that don't have a problem being
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: interested and they can study anything, and God bless them.
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: I'm not one of those people. I have to be
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: interested in one of them.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: Bradley Cooper own Bradley, Yeah, he did that.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: He's awesome.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: But the the brain guy, the Adam.
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: Baum Oppenheimer, he was in that movie.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: Well, that's he directed it and he was in it.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: He was he directed it? Right? I think he did?
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: He did, he did direct it.
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: What's up? That's right, it's Christopher Nolan directed Bheimer. Yes,
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: what was his role? He's been in so many things.
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: Okay, what are you thinking about the music guy? Yeah
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: he directed that and start in it? Oh yes, oh yes, phenomenally.
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: I was trying to agree with you.
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: I was like, what was Bradley and Oppenheimer? I haven't
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: seen Oppenheimer in a couple of years.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: I was just checking to see if you were on
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: paying attention. Eh.
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: That dude who was played Oppenheimer.
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: Series won an oscar? Did he win an oscar?
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: At least he was up there, Sir Murphy, right, that
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: guy is phenomenal and what silly and Murphy? Silly and
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: Murphy Anyway, He's a phenomenal in Peaky Blinder.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: Anybody that can act has got my attention because Cooper Bradley's.
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: Well real acting, right, real acting, real acting. I've done
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: some sitcom acting. That shit's pretty easy.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: And you probably Joe right, I played Joe and not Terry.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: Bradshaw's done like five movies and he was like, oh no, no, no, no,
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: I'm no actor.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: But like you know, Daniel day Lewis type acting. Whoa,
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: that's him. That's crazy. That's crazy Bradley, my god, and
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: he was in makeup.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: He he was amazing in that movie.
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: Isn't that crazy? They can make it look that realistic?
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: That is nuts.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: Leonard Bernstein, Oh there you go. Yeah, you see the movie?
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: You see it? I did not. When you had him
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: on here? Did you tell him you saw it?
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: I did not. I would have probably I'd like, oh yeah, hey,
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: it's like I had a guy.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: We went back to high school and met the assistant
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: trainer for the first time in years. I didn't know
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: his name, and this buddy of min how you do
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: making over here? Yall? And I'm like, he knows this,
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: and they're going on out of that. Give me, give me,
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: give me a hug you, you son of a gun.
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: And for why he did this, I'll never know. He goes,
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: what's my name? What's my name? He said that to him,
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: what's my name? And I'm over there and I'm like,
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: oh my god, this is hilarious. It is hilarious. Have
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: a have a clue? Well, he probably forgot if you
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: left the gate open too. No, I mean, give the
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: guy a break.
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: May have give the guy a break.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: But if you know what I do all the time,
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: and I'll tell people this, but look, I don't what's
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: your name again? Joe, Joe? Hey, I may ask you again,
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: right what your name is? And then I may ask
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: you again, but I'm going to get your name right.
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: I don't want to sit here and and not know.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: People get mad at that that I don't get me. Yeah,
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: I don't think that.
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: I don't because here's what I'm just a thing.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: That happens to people. And it definitely happens to people
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: that meet too many people.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: Do you know?
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: Do you know what Dunbar's number is? No, Dunbar's number
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: is a number of people that you can keep in
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: your memory. Because we evolved in tribal societies of small
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: groups of people all this. I just remember somebody to
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: tell you this. Somebody definitely. I didn't study it. This
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: is Dunbar's number. So the maxim amount of relationships a
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: person can maintain.
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: So which one are you? WHOA? WHOA? Whoa? Where are you?
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: Where are you?
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: Where are you?
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: In five you are zero your patient zero and five
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: are the people that are very close to you. So
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: that's your support people. And then fifteen are your sympathy group.
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: They're not quite as close as like the closest people
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: to you, but they're pretty close. And then there's a
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: close network of fifty people. Then you have a personal
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: network of one hundred and fifty people. You have five
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: hundred acquaintances, and then fifteen hundred people that are recognizable.
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: You know what's funny, I'll make this bad habit. We
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: all have bad habits. My bad habit is always friend
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: of mine. I know Henry Winkler. I know Henry Yah too.
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: I did a movie with him once, this great guy, sweetheart.
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: And my wife says, and I'll say, I have his number,
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: I have his number in my phone. I do have
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: Henry's number, But I'll say, well, so as all because
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: i've met them, I automatically associate them with being my friend.
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: I do the same thing.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just my wife will say, when you talked
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: to him last, Well.
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: I haven't these people I haven't talked to for years
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: and years and years friends.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I like a lot of friendly guy. Yeah.
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: I like a lot of people. I do. But in
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: my circle, we all surround ourselves. Our best friends are
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: people that we have a lot in common with, and
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: we share common values, common likes. Whether there's horses cattle.
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: My whole world is horses and cattle, horses and cattle.
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: The people that booked me for speeches, or dear dear
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: friends of mine, howie, dear friend Kirk Menafee different, different, different.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: I work with him. I love being around him. Tell
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: him I love I have a I have a habit
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: of telling you I love you, Joe, I love you, Man,
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: I love you too, I love you man. And do
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: the thing yeah, yeah, okay, we're see you really love them?
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: I do.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: It means. What it means is I like you more
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: than I just like you're just yeah, I elevating you
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: a little bit here. And my wife is so smart,
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: she's just like you really got their number. I said, yeah,
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: I got their number and they're friends of yours. Yeah,
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: when's the last time they talked to him? Well, didn't
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: talk to him in a few.
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: Hey, but if your friends, sometimes you can't be communicating
- 1:31:26Speaker 3: with everybody all the time. There's friends that I'm friends with.
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: I see him, I'm gonna hug him, but I haven't
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: talked to him in years.
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: You ever, ever, you ever told someone this? You ever
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: told someone of this? Hey, you know what, before you
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: became really famous, we used to be really close and
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: now we're not. You ever said that?
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: No?
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: You ever? Okay, I have so so before when they're
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: famous or you're famous. I'm Joe. I've been famous a
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: long time, long time, long time.
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: Yeah, long time, long time.
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: But I've Actually my problem is, if it's a problem,
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: is when I like somebody, I really like them, that's
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: in with them, Yeah, and then you don't ever hear
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: from them. But if you text them, they fire right back.
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: And after a while, I'm going, why am I the
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: one starting this relationship? Why am I I take it personal?
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: Do you really?
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: Yeah? I do? Okay, yeah, I do. I'm sensitive about
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: stuff like that. I mean, if you say, if we
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: swap numbers today before I leave, and I don't, and
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: I'm going to text you and say, hey, man, how's
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: it going, how's a wife? How's the deer, how's the
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: elk hunting? How you doing fine? And we get along great.
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: And then two or three months ago, I han't heard
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: from Joe. Hey, Joe, how you doing? Man's good? See?
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: I mean, how you doing? Oh?
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: So you get upset of you're the one always initiated.
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: I don't want always initiated. I want someone else to
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: feel the same way towards me. And that's insecurity. I know.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: I just finished this book. And the whole thing is
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: I'm always looking for people to like me is much
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: as I like them, and that's not always the case.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: Well, you're a very friendly guy, I am. Yeah.
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: I wish I weren't. Why, I don't mean I like
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: being friends. Let me tell you a funny story. You
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: own a funny story, all right, here's the funny story.
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: So when you get diagnosed with rumatward arthritis, you get
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: put on steroids. You get a balance of steroids in
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: your body to find out what holds off the paint,
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: because that's you got to block the paint. And so
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: you go on a ninety day trial and error. So
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: I'm doing I do the steroids and I'm eating my ass. Hey, hey,
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: you get boy, I'm eating everything. I can't sleep and
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: I'm eating. I'm doing a good job eating and I'm
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: working out twice a day. Are you kidding me? And
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: I blow up? Man, I put on like sixty pounds huge.
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: Go to Whitie. My wife and I are in Kmart.
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: Nice Kmart's closed down, but it's really nice k Mart.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: So we're in there and we're getting stuff for the
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: house and stuff and we get We're going down the
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: aisles and people looking, Hey, Terry, how you doing? You know,
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: I'm doing good. You know, I'm a little puffy right now.
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: I'm on steroids. I put on quite a bit of
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: way that you probably can see. And you know, I'm
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: a little embarrassed, but it's gonna get it balanced out.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, sorry to hear about that. Hey, Terry, how
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: you doing well? You know I'm a little puffy right now.
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: I'm taking you know, I'm on sterroids. They got room
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: toward our thriwers. You have to take steroids and gets
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: balanced to pay. And I do this without even thinking
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: about it, Joe three or four times in k Mart.
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: So we walk out, get in the car. My wife,
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: My wife, who loves me to death, says, honey, honey, honey, listen,
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: when people say how you doing, Terry, they don't they
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: don't want to hear about stair run. They don't care.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: They recognize you, and they're just happy to meet. They
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: don't care that you, you know whatever, I am I
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: really am I really doing that? She said, yes, baby,
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: you're doing that to everybody around. I was so embarrassed. Joe.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, oh my god, I can't believe it.
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: Across the highway and we go where brand new Target, Massive, Target,
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: awesome Target. You know, yeah, now you don't shop at
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: these places, but I do.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: I shop at Target, do you Yeah?
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: I love I love Target. You go to Walmart. I've
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: been to Walmart. I love Ben. It's been a couple
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: of years. Well, I live in say Joe, Texas and
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: Walmart and we get dressed up and put a suit
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: on when we go to Walmart. It's nice anyway. Then
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: we go to Target, and I got my wife's daughter
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: and told me. So we go to the Target, where
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: I'm pushing the buggy and we're going down the aisle. Hey, Terry,
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: how you doing? How am I doing? I said, Man,
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: you're not gonna believe this, but I got rumba toward Arthur.
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: And I've been taking steroids and I'm really put on
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: a lot of weight and really puffy. Now I stand up, Joe,
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: no kidding. And I leaned down and I pulled my
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: my pants leg up where my soak is, and I
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: pushed my sock down. And you can see that giant
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: indention from all the fluid that you're holding. And when
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: I put my hand down and I see that, I
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: start laughing. I can't help myself. I just start laughing.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: You big idiots. I don't give a shit if you
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: can cut rum and art starting. I was so embarrassed,
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: but I just couldn't help myself. I just started laughing.
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: Caught me, caught me.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: Well, you're just a genuine guy. Yeah, nothing wrong with that. No,
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: nothing wrong with that.
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: No, I'm not apologizing, but sometimes you just want reciprocation.
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: I do have it with I understand what you're saying.
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: But it's way better to be super friendly than to
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: the opposite.
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: Is your wife's super friendly she's friendly. Yeah, she's friendly. Yeah.
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: Is she friendly as you?
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: Yeah, she's pretty friendly.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: Can you go anywhere in Austin and yeah, I.
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: Mean you talk to a lot of people. Yeah, talk
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: to people. But most people are really nice.
- 1:37:15Speaker 2: Problem.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: Most people just happy to see and say, hey, you
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: shake your hand, yeah, give you some knuckles.
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: Yeah. You take selfie? Yeah yeah, take a selfie.
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: I like selfies. I don't think what the problem is.
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: There's no problem, there's nothing with that. You're just a
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: friendly guy. Yeah and that but that Dunbar's number is
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: what's going on? Like that's why you can't remember people.
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: That's really all it is. I mean you think about
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: your Terry Bradshaw. How many people have you met in
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: your life? You probably met a million people, like literally
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: a million.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: But if you were, if you were in bad shape
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: right now, you've got people you'd call. You got a
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: handful you get called, Oh yeah for sure, Yeah I
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: really care about you.
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: Yeah okay, yeah, But that's how everybody is. Like a handful,
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: have a handful that you really care and.
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: You know what to take care and nurture your friendships
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: that are really close. Takes effort, it does, and if
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: you fifteen or twenty. You don't have any time. Man,
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: you wear yourself out. I think we all we start
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: here and we yes.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: Yeah, Well there's also some people that disappoint you along
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: the way, unfortunately.
- 1:38:20Speaker 2: Man, love, are you kidding?
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: That is Have you ever have you ever just thrown
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: all your trust and love and to your your buddy
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: and then that sucker fifteen or six whatever and.
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: Just boom some of them. Yeah, you go, whoa, It's
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: been a long time since I've had that happen.
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: But there and then, and then I'm the first one
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: to say, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't I didn't
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: mean that. I'm sorry. And then they don't take your
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: apologies and they bring it up again. I'm sorry, Look,
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: I told you I'm sorry. I know. Then they do
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: it again. Look yeah, I said I'm sorry, and then
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: hang up. That's it.
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: Well, some people just don't want to be happy, and
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: they don't and they actually enjoy being in conflict because
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: conflict takes them away from thinking about all the things
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: that they need to correct in their life. So they
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: always like to be in some sort of a situation
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: where there's some sort of a dispute or someone wronged them,
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: or something's disrespectful or something. It's just distractions. Most of
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: it is distractions. It's a personality that just happened yesterday.
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: I'm not going to mention their name because, ok so,
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: I tell this person they had a stallion of mine,
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: a young two year old, and they were showing it
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: and made a great job. I brought the horse home.
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: Horse wasn't horse wasn't gonna be good enough to go
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: to the World Show, which is the Super Bowl, but
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: he needed another year of growing training. I brought him home.
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: Crazy about these people been with them years. I mean
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: the trainer was my first trainer ever, and that's been
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: forty something years ago. Anyway, so I'm over there. They
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: came to church. I got to come to church. I
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: was singing in church last two weeks ago, and they came.
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: I asked him to come. I'm singing in church, and
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: they said, okay, great. They came to hear me sing.
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: They loved our preacher, and they said, we're going to
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: come back. Well, they came back yesterday. All right, they
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: came back. Yes, we have a meet and greet during
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: the service. I got up and went, oh man, it's
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: great to see you, and not even thinking that they
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: had had this stud for so long and did a
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: great job. I said, guess who came by the house
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: the other day and saw the barn. Name for the
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: stud is Bradley, and saw Bradley fell in love with him,
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: and I sent him home with him. He's going to
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: show him. Oh, Bob, it wasn't pretty. Got mad, got
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: real in church, got mad, got upset, and I just
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: called chills, went over and I went. I got to
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: thinking what did I do? What did I do? What
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: did I do? And then I got to thinking I
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: took this horse from them, and I gave it to
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: another trainer, and they got this horse looking as good
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: as you get. They got him going. Now I'm giving
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: it to a competitive trainer, and I'm telling them, hey, hey,
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: he fell in love with him. I said, you're take
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: him home with you. It hurt. It hurt them, and
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: it was obvious that they were very One of them
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: was really upset with me in church, and so church
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: preachers up getting ready starting. I had to go get
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: back in my seat. And then when am I told
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: Tammy and my wife, I said, holy cow, man, I
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: just hurt their feelings. I mean they are upset with
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: me because I said this horse was some other trainer,
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: And I said, God, I would have never done that.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: I would have never done that had I been thinking,
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: I wanted to have said a word about that, not
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: a word. But since they had had the horse, I
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: figured that it was no big deal. Right my horse,
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: I do with it what I want. Throughout the service
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: was just great, great service. That's picking up on what
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: the preacher was saying. I found myself during that service,
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: you ready for this, praying that God would help me
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: go make things right with them because I couldn't stand
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: the fact that I had upset them so much. So
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: when the service was over this and they were going,
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: I went and grabbing said, I am so sorry. I
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: want to apologize. I wasn't thinking I made a huge mistake.
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: You're my dear friends. I just don't, you know, And
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: I feel like I made it right. But I had
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: to go and make that right because it just but
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: that's playing Terry. That means you're a good guy. That's great.
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: So yeah, you know, you're a great guy. That's a
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: great thing to do because you care. If you didn't care,
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: if you were like I screw them on my service.
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: That's because that's because you're.
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: A good guy.
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: That's because you're a good guy. I really believe that
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: you wanted them to feel better, and you know, and
- 1:42:58Speaker 3: I bet you did make it right.
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: And I didn't do it of course, of course.
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: Well sometimes people don't think you know that. I mean
- 1:43:08Speaker 3: some people you want.
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: To say, Hey, I went to a guy and told
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: him one hundred thousand times how sorry I was, and
- 1:43:15Speaker 2: I want you to know he was my best friend
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: at the time and we have not spoken since. That's
- 1:43:21Speaker 2: now some people that's not kind. That's not on me.
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: No, that's on him.
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: That's on him.
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: Some people are not charitable and they don't want to
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: forgive people. They like to be wronged. There's there's people
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: that like to be in conflict with people, and generally
- 1:43:34Speaker 3: those people their life is a mess. That's generally not
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: a balanced person.
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: This guy's life not a mess. But I just so look, look,
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: it's how you say something here today and it really
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: upsets me. You're probably going to know it now that
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: we've been getting your pro hat are you okay with this?
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: And I'm going to tell you you know what, No,
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: I'm not. I'm not okay with.
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: That, well, then well I would apologize.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: My point is, if you piss me off, I would
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: I think if you apologize that accepted.
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: Immediately, You've already said I'm a good guy. I'm not
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: going to do that.
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: I mean, people don't mean to hurt people's feelings for
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: the most part.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Some do, some do, but those.
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: People you generally know that that's that kind of person
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: in the first place, and you probably wouldn't be hanging
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: out with them. No, But when when you're close to someone,
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: you love someone, you gotta have some forgiveness. You got
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: to realize that people are human and friends.
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: For as long as I have been with this one person,
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: I have another.
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: What was the issue?
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: Issue? Was I made fun of him on the golf course.
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: He's that's it. Yeah, I make fun of everybody on
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: the golf course. You know why, because I'm I suck.
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: I'm bad, Joe, I'm bad now. I love to play
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: and I love to play with my friends and have
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: a simple little five dollar bet and it's not much,
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: but I love that saying, oh nice shot, you know
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: it's fun me me. I know, I'm an asshole, right,
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: you know? You know the bad side of you, right,
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: you know that your bad I know mine? I know mine. Yeah,
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: my wife calls it Roy. Different guys it what is
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: that movie? Primal Fears? You need to look adm at
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: and you go had me fooled? You go? Holy? So
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: I took him the name Roy. So when when I'm
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: going into.
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: A dog's character, Yeah, Roy, Yeah, I think it was Roy.
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: Oh that turn at the end, have you fool? Oh?
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: I'm long like what I know at the end of
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: that movie.
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: I'm like, whoa, whoa, that's that's another very smart guy.
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: Edward Norton. I had him in on the Potatum.
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: Very interesting guy.
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I find actors in general very well. The really
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: good ones there they are Cooper, I love McConaughey. I've
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: done a movie. I love.
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: Great guy too.
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: Who else to do it? George also very smart? Yeah,
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: very smart. George Foreman. We did a show together called
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: Better Late Than Never. Never got to know him in
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: two years. Never got to know him in two years.
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: Really never got to know him in two years. I
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: totally didn't associate with any of us. We have lunch,
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: he'd sit over here with his son, had dinner, sit
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: over here with his son. It could be I would
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: only guess that he's shy. He didn't like the fact
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: that we drank. He didn't like the language that was used.
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: Because he's a preacher now, I asked him one time, said, George,
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: how big is your congregation? He said one hundred and twenty.
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: I said, really, how long you've been doing this? I
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: think he said something maybe twenty years or something. I said,
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: because I've been taught as a Baptist, said as a preacher,
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: your congregation grows, right, right, your congregation grows. And I
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: said how many? One hundred and twenty. I said, oh, wow,
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: it's small. I said, you building, you're growing. He said, no,
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: hundred twenties enough, And I went one hundred and twenties enough.
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: I said, So, George, when do you start preparing your sermon?
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: Do you start on Tuesday like most preachers? No, oh
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: you don't. So when do you start preparing for your
- 1:47:15Speaker 2: sermons Wednesday?
- 1:47:16Speaker 5: No?
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: So when do you start preparing for your sermon? He says,
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: when I stand up to preach, God tells me what
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: to say.
- 1:47:26Speaker 3: Wow, okay, you're.
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: Going to argue with George Foreman, I'm not for that.
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: Looked like all right, brother, Yeah, arguing, but yeah, he was.
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: I wanted to get to know him. He was friendly,
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: but he was just it was blocked.
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: Yeah. Well he's also another guy that's been famous.
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: For a long time time.
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: He's probably figured out how to block people out. And
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: also he went through that dark period when he quit
- 1:47:52Speaker 3: fighting for ten years, and you know, the losing to Ali.
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: I mean that was very hard on him. You know,
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: he knew better when he lost the thrill in Manila,
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: he knew better.
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: It was rumbling the jungle. Yeah, okay, well yeah that
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: was both rhyme, right, They definitely right, that was Don
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: King right.
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: Yeah, oh well yeah, he knew a promoter fact, he
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: knew better. He told me that the hit that I
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: took was nothing, but he said I was so tired. Yeah,
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: and he and I went, you're a kid, and he
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: said yeah, he said, they hit. The hit was nothing, nothing,
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: but he went down. He just think, got him down
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: there and get some hair and get some bread.
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: But he was definitely exhausted.
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: That was but he knew, he knew what was going on,
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: but he thought with his power, he'd break a rib
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: or something.
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: You know, Well, he had so much power. I mean
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: when he thought Joe Frasier. He lifted him off his
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: feet with a punch. I mean, he was extraordinarily powerful.
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: He hit so hard. Yeah, George, how can you be
- 1:49:00Speaker 3: that quick?
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: I mean that big?
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's just depressive. Yeah, oh, he was very impressive.
- 1:49:08Speaker 3: I mean that Ali fight was so crazy. That was
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: another fight where Ali was expected to lose, just like
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: the Sunny Listing fight.
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: And it was such an upset that Hunter Thompson flew
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: to Africa to cover it and didn't go to the fight.
- 1:49:21Speaker 3: He wound up just drinking and floating around at his
- 1:49:24Speaker 3: pool and blew off the fight because he didn't want
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: to watch Ali get knocked out. Really, because Ali was
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: his hero and he messed it up because he was
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: supposed to be a journalist for Rolling Stone at the time,
- 1:49:34Speaker 3: so they flew him over there to cover that fight.
- 1:49:38Speaker 2: You stew out your intelligence on me, throwing me a
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: curveball because I'm going Hunter. Okay, Yeah, who's Hunter? No? Idea?
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: Who that guy?
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: You don't know Thompson?
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: Would him?
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: You don't? You never heard of him? The gonzo journalist, Thompson,
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: very famous.
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: Journalist the Angus Weekly.
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: No, No, he's the guy from Fear Loathing in Las Vegas.
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: Do you know that you never heard of that book?
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: No, the movie that Johnny Depp did Fear Loathing in
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: Las Vegas, where he played Hunter Thompson. He did write
- 1:50:12Speaker 3: that about horses. The Kentucky Derby is decadent and depraved.
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: That's one of his best works. Really, it's a fantastic
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: Thompson was.
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: I first got into the cattle business. My wife ex wife,
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: and I went to a big cattle sale. So that's
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: to your point about me saying I don't know who
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: he is now, I just played it off, all right.
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: I didn't want to embarrass myself. But then I got
- 1:50:34Speaker 2: to think of I don't know who this guy is.
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: Now you answered who he was, but I didn't care. Yeah,
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: I get it. So I go to this cattle sale,
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: this hawks in heer and I this auksener is out
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: there and he wants to meet me, Terry Bradshaw. So
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: I got my ex wife, the auctioneer, and a couple
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: of his ring stewarts, you know, and we're sitting there talking.
- 1:50:50Speaker 2: So I asked a simple question, So tell me, mister
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: auks here, what do you make the most money on
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: in auctioning off stuff. He terry, we were really hitting
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: a home run right now with limousines. Limousines. To see
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: my brain, I'm at a cow auction and he's a
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: cow auctioneer. He's not supposed to sell cars. Cars, and
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: you think cars limousines.
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: That's what I would have thought.
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I was. I was about to
- 1:51:23Speaker 2: say to him, Oh my god, you mean to tell
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: me you sell cars? And my ex ex wife goes,
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: you mean to tell me that you sell cars?
- 1:51:33Speaker 11: And you go, oh sweetie, And I'm like, the boy
- 1:51:42Speaker 11: want a dumb ass, and he goes, no, honey, limousine
- 1:51:47Speaker 11: is a breed of cattle.
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: Limousine right there. You know what I like about the
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: show when you just think you're throwing everybody a curb, Bolly,
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: throw it up on the screen. Jamie, you're a man.
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: He's the best when he's sober, he is numb.
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: Better when he's sober. When you see HI when he's drunk, Oh.
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: My god, even better. But anyway, I thought, you know,
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: I got I should write a book about some of
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: these stuff. But you should? I should? Why not? I
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: don't know? Think I got enough time?
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe a documentary. Maybe just sit down with someone
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: to have them tell all these stories.
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you're thinking nobody care about these stories.
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: Surely would absolutely edit him up, do a good job
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: with the editing.
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: Start a podcast, Yeah.
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: No, Terry bredshawk'sperience.
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: No, I don't think.
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: No.
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: No, you know you know what, Joe listen, you started
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: us fifteen years.
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: Ago or something like that.
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: Yeah, do you have anything idea it would be like this?
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: No?
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: No, So why do I want to do something like
- 1:52:46Speaker 2: this when there's a million podcasts going on?
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: Well, you would only do it if you like doing it.
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: I would not like doing it. Well, then don't do it.
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: Look.
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: I got enough. I got enough on my plate right now.
- 1:52:58Speaker 3: Don't do it unless it seems interesting.
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: And besides that, who's going to come on my show?
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: A lot of people would show I came on your
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: show when you had a TV.
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: Show, did you? Yeah? What show was that?
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: You had a TV show?
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, I was on it. I was a guest

- 1:53:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: Oh well, I believe it was news radio. It was

- 1:53:51Speaker 3: I mean, you could do anything if you wanted to,
- 1:53:53Speaker 3: but you definitely would get guests if you ever wanted
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: to do a podcast.
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: I did a radio show once.
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: How was that?
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: It was good? It's good, but it's just hard to
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: get people.
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: Really. Yeah, that doesn't make sense to me. Well where
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: are you doing it out of l A?
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: Oh? So many people in l A. I was that
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: hard when I had my daytime show in l I

- 1:55:06Speaker 3: No, I'm not interested in.
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: So I'm very honored to be here today. But can

- 1:55:16Speaker 2: on that are just jerks, yeah, and are interviewing them
- 1:55:23Speaker 2: and it's like, oh God, where can I go here

- 1:55:47Speaker 3: was like publicly conservative.
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: He did the NRA. They caught hell for that. Yeah. Yeah,

- 1:57:01Speaker 2: a shotgun, flames come out of the gun, flames, and
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: I'm running. I'm running in the backyard, jump to get

- 1:57:22Speaker 2: O yellow and black top. Yeah boy, this is nice.
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: And I got in. But I'm used to pushing the
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: button or pull in reverse. You go down right right,
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: pull it down, I turn around, I hit the brake,
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: I go forward righting through the wall. Realized you gotta
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: go one click. Uh. Yeah. It was not good, not good,
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: But my wife won't let me keep anything. So where
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: where did you get? Burglaria six times, Rusting rust and
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: Louisiana Ransfield, Louisiana on my ranchers? Yeah, on your ranches. Yeah.
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: So they came out of the ranch. Ye how big
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: was the ramp uh acres at the time. They do
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: some driving to get to the house and.
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: They had to go through the gate. The gate, the
- 1:58:06Speaker 2: gate I locked, So how did they get in? And
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: you ever, let me tell you something. You are laying
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: in bed at night and it's one am in the morning,
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: and you feel the presence of somebody else in your house,
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: all right, and a flashlight is going over your head
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: and going through the wall. Like this. I can't even
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: begin to tell you. You can't breathe, and you don't,
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: and I'm laying down like this and I'm flatting myself.
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: And back in those days, you're too young to know this. Remember, well,
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: the princess phone. You know what the princess phone is.
- 1:58:44Speaker 3: Prince's phone.
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: You know everything we've been talking about today. You've been
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: throwing all kinds of ship up here, and you don't
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: know what a prince's phone. Do you know what you said?
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: Are you saying Prince princis princess princess phone.
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: It's a phone. It was one of the first push
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: button phones. You didn't have to Okay, it's the princess.
- 1:59:02Speaker 3: So I took my look at you, it doesn't that's
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: a princess phone.
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: There you go, Thank you so much. Did you know
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: what that is? Jamie? No? I look, look, I'm look, Joe.
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: I'm laying in bed. I take my left hand and
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: I slide it over to my princess phone. I take
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: this receiver off, and I take my fingers and I
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: go across the dolls and a doll and my uncle,
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: who lives two hundred yards away.
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: I get the phone pull up to the microphone.
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: So people here, I pull I pull up, I pull
- 1:59:37Speaker 2: the phone up. I'm laying back trying so you can't
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: see me or anything. And I said, Bobby, I got
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: a burgler. He's at my He's at my bedroom window.
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: He says, all right, I'm on my way. So I
- 1:59:49Speaker 2: take the phone down. He is, and you can see
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: that guy. Here's my here's my uncle coming. And this
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: guy takes off and he chases him down through the
- 1:59:58Speaker 2: pasture and he loses him out the of it. I
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: had another guy go through my house, tearing up my
- 2:00:04Speaker 2: kid same place, no different place, wow, in college, tearing
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: up my tearing up my dishes and my kitchen. He
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: was looking through the dishes, he making noise. The only
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: thing I could figure was the guy who's trying to
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: run me off. I was living in a Methodist parsonage
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: out on the edge of town. Come to find out,
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: this guy was living in the attic over the office.
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: So the cops found all kinds of paraphernalia, beer up
- 2:00:35Speaker 2: in the office. So the only thing I could figure
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: sean right, but he ran me off there. I don't
- 2:00:41Speaker 2: know what he was to find out, but you you've
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: come home. I've come home twice. It had guys running
- 2:00:47Speaker 2: out of my house taking off same house. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: six six of these I had, geez, there have been
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: shot at.
- 2:00:57Speaker 3: So you were running away from these guys. His name again,
- 2:01:00Speaker 3: I forgot Jamie. Jamie one more time. Son, I'm gonna
- 2:01:05Speaker 3: ask you what your name is? Okay, all right, one
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: more I told you three times?
- 2:01:09Speaker 2: Right, all right? I got you down now.
- 2:01:11Speaker 3: So the same place. Why'd you keep getting broken into
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: this one place?
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: I'm not in the middle of nowhere. I'm Terry Bradshaw.
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: They want to come in, and another guy came down.
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: He stole a He stole all my stuff out of
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: my garage, all the all the the chainsaw, he got
- 2:01:30Speaker 2: all the kind of tools and stuff that he could
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: go and sell. Just wipe me out.
- 2:01:36Speaker 3: No security, no, no security system, nothing.
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: No. I got dogs now and now I have had
- 2:01:45Speaker 2: since Tammy and I twenty two years now, and I
- 2:01:49Speaker 2: got a guard dog. But I won't I will not
- 2:01:52Speaker 2: leave my wife at home. My wife, my wife and
- 2:01:56Speaker 2: I twenty two years have been a part two days.
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: I will not leave without my wife.
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: What kind of guard dogs you get?
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: German shepherd? I got him from Wayne Somanovitch in South Carolina.
- 2:02:05Speaker 3: You got a train.

- 2:02:26Speaker 2: And you know what's great about him? They're guard dogs.
- 2:02:29Speaker 2: You don't play with them, right, you don't play with it.
- 2:02:32Speaker 2: You don't rough them, you don't grab them, you don't
- 2:02:34Speaker 2: tackle them. They don't mess around, right, they don't mess around.

- 2:05:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I got also ten dogs and two serious
- 2:05:21Speaker 3: guard dogs.
- 2:05:22Speaker 2: Two badass dogs.
- 2:05:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:05:23Speaker 2: So those the ones are dog is bad ass, the
- 2:05:26Speaker 2: other one is going to be badass. Yeah, you know
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: when you live where I live? Out where I live,
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: I don't know where you live. But what are you doing?
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: What is that?
- 2:05:35Speaker 3: This is ultra It's a nootropic.
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: Do you know what that is?
- 2:05:39Speaker 3: Essentially brain vitamins. But come you don't swallow it because
- 2:05:44Speaker 3: it's a pouch like a nicotine pouch, the same kind of.
- 2:05:47Speaker 2: Thing, like you gotta smoke an addiction. Yeah, but if
- 2:05:50Speaker 2: you's got a nicotine addictions, that's what you're saying. What
- 2:05:53Speaker 2: is it you said?
- 2:05:54Speaker 3: Nickte nootropics new trope?
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: Is that one of those things that it's right now?
- 2:05:58Speaker 3: It's like brain vitamins? Is it like I've remac this. No,
- 2:06:01Speaker 3: it's like nutrients, brain nutrients.
- 2:06:06Speaker 2: Sorry, it sucks.
- 2:06:08Speaker 3: I couldn't have listen. We're not friends anymore. Yes, I'm upset.
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: Again.
- 2:06:14Speaker 3: It's not hilarious though, that you could make fun of
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: a guy playing golf and he doesn't want to be
- 2:06:18Speaker 3: your friend forever.
- 2:06:19Speaker 2: Because of that, I was shocked.
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: Yeah, you got off and I had another friend you
- 2:06:25Speaker 3: got off light Yeah, another friend sensitive.
- 2:06:28Speaker 2: Another friend I spent four days a week with because I,
- 2:06:30Speaker 2: like I said, I'm playing golf and didn't have a job.
- 2:06:33Speaker 2: We hung out, his wife and I went to dinner
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: all the time, cooked out all the time. And then
- 2:06:38Speaker 2: one one day I thought, hey, we just recently passed away.
- 2:06:44Speaker 2: So hey, man, I got us a tea time from
- 2:06:47Speaker 2: more at one thirty. Dad call me back nothing, hey nothing?
- 2:06:53Speaker 2: Two days, three days, four days, five days, a week,
- 2:06:55Speaker 2: two weeks, a month, nothing, nothing, nothing, never heard of
- 2:07:00Speaker 2: never heard from him again. What happened? His wife didn't
- 2:07:04Speaker 2: like me? Whoa, that's what I found out. His wife
- 2:07:07Speaker 2: didn't like you. Yeah, what's not the like I'm a
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: nice guy.
- 2:07:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't understand that at all.
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: Now. I think she's just jealous of our relationship.
- 2:07:14Speaker 3: Oh, there's those kind of relationships. Guys and gals will
- 2:07:19Speaker 3: do that. Will they separate you from your friends. That's
- 2:07:22Speaker 3: a real fucking problem. Well that's a giant red flag
- 2:07:25Speaker 3: right there. That's not good. A person that doesn't want
- 2:07:28Speaker 3: you having good friends. That's crazy. Yeah, I know, it's
- 2:07:32Speaker 3: that's crazy.
- 2:07:33Speaker 2: You know, I'm the luckiest guy in the world because
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: I work for a network with four sometimes five guys.
- 2:07:43Speaker 2: And if you can put five big egos together and
- 2:07:46Speaker 2: they have everybody love and care about one another, I'm
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: gonna tell you that's special.
- 2:07:50Speaker 3: Special.
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: That Fox show is so special. It is you've seen
- 2:07:57Speaker 2: this show, I assume, and we're just like it's like
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: a locker room.
- 2:08:02Speaker 3: Well, that's where we have to be so much fun,
- 2:08:05Speaker 3: and that's what people like watching.
- 2:08:06Speaker 2: I think. So think you're right.
- 2:08:09Speaker 3: Yeah, people want to watch people that actually are friends.
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and we have giant fun. We had this one.
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: I mean, you you learn where you can go with
- 2:08:17Speaker 2: your friends. Yeah, all right, you know you learn don't
- 2:08:20Speaker 2: go here, don't go there, which is fine. You want
- 2:08:23Speaker 2: you want to make sure that because we're on live television,
- 2:08:26Speaker 2: so you want to don't everyone to embarrass anybody on
- 2:08:28Speaker 2: live television. So you learn where to go, and you
- 2:08:31Speaker 2: build that trust, and then that trust. Because you have
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: the trust, you become you bond, you become Hey, how
- 2:08:38Speaker 2: you doing? Hey?
- 2:08:38Speaker 7: Man?
- 2:08:38Speaker 2: I was this week? How's your doing? It's great? Hey?
- 2:08:40Speaker 2: How's your wife? Great? I mean it's just you just
- 2:08:44Speaker 2: get everybody, hugs everybody, Hey, how was your week? I
- 2:08:47Speaker 2: mean it's I can't even get the day that that
- 2:08:50Speaker 2: show is over for me, and I hope I die
- 2:08:52Speaker 2: on set, which is I've always said, but I could
- 2:08:54Speaker 2: just die on set. Think about it, Joe, think about it,
- 2:08:58Speaker 2: if I die on set, seriously, if I could just
- 2:09:03Speaker 2: get a couple of words out before I go, I
- 2:09:07Speaker 2: don't want to just I really do think Dallas is
- 2:09:13Speaker 2: going to win the super Bowl if I could just
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: get something out, yeah, you know, forever immortal, right? Great? Yeah,
- 2:09:22Speaker 2: So I said that that's what and that's the way
- 2:09:24Speaker 2: I feel. I assume that's the way you do this show.
- 2:09:27Speaker 2: You can't wait to do that, you should. This is
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: awesome to get down and sit down with people from
- 2:09:32Speaker 2: different walks of life. Basically, yeah, politicians don't agree with you,
- 2:09:38Speaker 2: religious people, whatever, and you just sit there and you
- 2:09:42Speaker 2: build this. You know, you get to know these people.
- 2:09:45Speaker 2: You asked all these questions, or in my case, I'm
- 2:09:48Speaker 2: I'm just jumping around here, said well, he hadn't asked
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: me about this. I like Simon, Jamie Jamie, I told you, Samy,
- 2:09:57Speaker 2: just that's it.
- 2:09:58Speaker 3: No, I got no Young Jamie Young like van Halen.
- 2:10:02Speaker 3: Jamie's crying, Oh oh, Jamie's remember that song. Look I
- 2:10:07Speaker 3: got it here, Jamie, Jamie Young Jamie, Jamie, you married,
- 2:10:12Speaker 3: I had a boy, free man, free ladies.
- 2:10:15Speaker 2: How old are you, Jamie? What are you saying? Hold
- 2:10:20Speaker 2: it up? What's that? What's holding up? Old enough to know? So?
- 2:10:23Speaker 2: How old are you? Jamie? M m okay, got a girl,
- 2:10:29Speaker 2: all right? Now?
- 2:10:29Speaker 3: Okay, he's free right now, ladies. Young Jamie's on the prow.
- 2:10:37Speaker 2: Jamie, you owned the prow, all right? Where's your There's
- 2:10:43Speaker 2: a lot of good looking women in Austin, Texas.
- 2:10:45Speaker 3: James Is, it's a good, good place.
- 2:10:47Speaker 2: You need some help for you.
- 2:10:50Speaker 8: Let's go out tonight.
- 2:10:54Speaker 2: I guess we need to move on. Yeah, anyway, I'm
- 2:10:57Speaker 2: so in talking about that show.
- 2:11:00Speaker 3: Just well, having a show like that a bunch of
- 2:11:02Speaker 3: people are really actually friends is so huge for the viewer.
- 2:11:06Speaker 2: It is you want to listen? Do you want to
- 2:11:08Speaker 2: turn on the show like a pregame? Come on pre
- 2:11:11Speaker 2: game shows. I watch them. I go, oh God, especially
- 2:11:14Speaker 2: if it's done this, shut up right, shut up, announce
- 2:11:19Speaker 2: its God doing the game?
- 2:11:21Speaker 3: Shut up right? Or when they're just sports guys that
- 2:11:25Speaker 3: really aren't actually passionate about football and you hear them talking,
- 2:11:29Speaker 3: You're like, you.
- 2:11:30Speaker 2: Know what they're talking about? What is that? They get
- 2:11:33Speaker 2: it all right here? Yeah, and let me tell you something.
- 2:11:37Speaker 2: I hate stats. I hate them.
- 2:11:39Speaker 3: They're okay occasionally.
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: The real point. But if all you got is on
- 2:11:47Speaker 2: the third quarter the wind, if it makes a point
- 2:11:53Speaker 2: and a big but otherwise right, I remember one. Well, anyway,
- 2:11:57Speaker 2: I was talking about all the guys. I love telling
- 2:12:00Speaker 2: this story on Howie. Howie's is my best friend on
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: the show, without question. I mean, we are we are
- 2:12:09Speaker 2: so different he went to Villanova. I went to an
- 2:12:12Speaker 2: engineering school at Louisiana Tech. I got a college degree. Howie,
- 2:12:17Speaker 2: I'm sorry he didn't graduate. I'm sorry, Howie. Don't hate
- 2:12:22Speaker 2: me for his big ass what you've been telling about it? Hey,
- 2:12:26Speaker 2: I love it. I shouldn't have said, Joe, I didn't
- 2:12:28Speaker 2: say that anyway. So we're doing this show and we
- 2:12:33Speaker 2: had Jimmy Johnson on the show. Jimmy's great. Oh, Jimmy
- 2:12:37Speaker 2: was awesome. So Jimmy's telling this story all right, and
- 2:12:43Speaker 2: Jimmy's Jimmy tell it is a funny story, and we
- 2:12:47Speaker 2: Jimmy starts laughing. We all start laughing straight hand, we're
- 2:12:53Speaker 2: belly aching. That's funny. That's funny. Jimmy. Michael Strahan's next director.
- 2:12:58Speaker 2: We got it all worked out. It goes Jimmy, Michael Terry, Howie,
- 2:13:02Speaker 2: Jimmy high yeah, Howie. So Michael Strahan he adds to
- 2:13:07Speaker 2: that story and it's even funnier. Whoa, Oh my god,
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: stop stop right now. Oh now, it's my turn. Now,
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: I've gotta, I gotta, I gotta. You're a comedian, you
- 2:13:23Speaker 2: know you gotta you gotta match it at least right,
- 2:13:26Speaker 2: or do it one better. I'm adding to Michael said,
- 2:13:29Speaker 2: to what Jimmy said, and we're rolling. Oh god stop,
- 2:13:35Speaker 2: Oh this is fun. This is killing me. Oh how
- 2:13:38Speaker 2: he's turned? How he looks at the camera. The outside
- 2:13:44Speaker 2: linebacker for Seattle, Bucky buck Halter, sprang to his ankle
- 2:13:50Speaker 2: in pregame warm up and he won't be starting today
- 2:13:53Speaker 2: for the Seahawks. Uh, jasper h Julian will be in
- 2:13:58Speaker 2: his place out of Kansas State. What and I And
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: we go to commercial break and I'm like three, ha
- 2:14:14Speaker 2: ha ha one. So I'm looking at Howie and I'm
- 2:14:20Speaker 2: staring at how I'm just like this. He's turned. He
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: feels me. He turns around and says, what I said,
- 2:14:30Speaker 2: you can't help it? Can you help what? You know
- 2:14:34Speaker 2: what I'm talking about? No, I don't what are you
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: talking about? And I said, you're boring. I wouldn't have
- 2:14:46Speaker 2: said it if I didn't know I could get away
- 2:14:48Speaker 2: with it. And for the rest of the show he
- 2:14:50Speaker 2: was hilarious because he said, well, you know, being boring me,
- 2:14:53Speaker 2: he say, And it was funny, but yeah, it was.
- 2:14:57Speaker 2: You can't do that unless there's true us right right
- 2:15:01Speaker 2: and straight hand. We made frin the first day straighthn
- 2:15:04Speaker 2: was on the show. We gave him half a cake.
- 2:15:06Speaker 2: He said, why am I getting half a cake? Well,
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: you just got divorced.
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: You lost the other hand, so that's hilarious. Well, if
- 2:15:14Speaker 3: you can't joke around with people, that's no fun. No,
- 2:15:17Speaker 3: that's not a good relationship.
- 2:15:18Speaker 2: Well you better know, you better know who you're joking
- 2:15:20Speaker 2: around with.
- 2:15:21Speaker 3: But it's like you can't if you can't joke around
- 2:15:23Speaker 3: with someone, like, what's the point?
- 2:15:24Speaker 2: That's what people do.
- 2:15:26Speaker 3: I've been part of fun in life. You should be
- 2:15:28Speaker 3: able to take a joke. You're able to give a joke.
- 2:15:30Speaker 3: She's able to have fun with it.
- 2:15:31Speaker 2: You just got to know when. You just got to
- 2:15:32Speaker 2: know when sure. I mean friends know when sure. I
- 2:15:36Speaker 2: mean you know. I talked to Howie all the time,
- 2:15:39Speaker 2: all the time. And his son Kyle just got signed
- 2:15:43Speaker 2: with CBS for their Today's show, which is, oh, that's awesome, great,
- 2:15:47Speaker 2: great for him, and he's good. How We did movies
- 2:15:49Speaker 2: for a while, right, how he was voted the up
- 2:15:51Speaker 2: and coming star and he had these three young kids
- 2:15:55Speaker 2: and he says, I don't want to raise my kids
- 2:15:57Speaker 2: in LA. Where's the best place I can raise my
- 2:15:59Speaker 2: kid is? And they found the school system Charlottesville, Virginia.
- 2:16:03Speaker 2: He moved to Virginia, took his kid there and quick good, yeah,
- 2:16:07Speaker 2: I'm having your priorities together.
- 2:16:09Speaker 3: I remember reading something about him talking about it like
- 2:16:11Speaker 3: his experience with movies, like he didn't like it. Well,
- 2:16:14Speaker 3: he didn't like Hollywood, he didn't like the whole thing, and.
- 2:16:18Speaker 2: He he could have been.
- 2:16:21Speaker 3: Did someone hit on him too?
- 2:16:23Speaker 2: Hit on him? I think some guys hit on him.
- 2:16:26Speaker 2: A guy hit on Yeah, is that he find out
- 2:16:29Speaker 2: that's true? I don't know if i'd find that out. Yeah.
- 2:16:31Speaker 3: Maybe, don't look that up, forget it. Don't look that up.
- 2:16:35Speaker 2: But the point simon Jamie, Jamie.
- 2:16:42Speaker 11: Bro't think Jamie, don't look that up, because yeah.
- 2:16:46Speaker 2: I don't look it up. I think I might have
- 2:16:47Speaker 2: made that up or somebody might have thought it might
- 2:16:49Speaker 2: not be true. But the point is, like he could
- 2:16:51Speaker 2: have been.
- 2:16:52Speaker 3: He did a bunch of big movies, yes, and he
- 2:16:54Speaker 3: was on his way to being a big action He
- 2:16:57Speaker 3: was action star. Yeah sure, I mean, of course, a giant, handsome,
- 2:17:01Speaker 3: good looking, Yeah great, perfect for.
- 2:17:03Speaker 2: An action start.
- 2:17:04Speaker 3: And then just I like it when a guy realizes
- 2:17:07Speaker 3: like this is you know, like you.
- 2:17:08Speaker 2: Were raised on kids in it.
- 2:17:09Speaker 3: Yeah, just like you don't want you know, it's what
- 2:17:13Speaker 3: you think that life is. It's not.
- 2:17:15Speaker 2: Listen, it's also like sixteen hours movies and you've done
- 2:17:19Speaker 2: I don't know how many. And look, I don't want
- 2:17:22Speaker 2: to sit around, yeah all day long and go in
- 2:17:25Speaker 2: and deliver one line exactly. And here's the other thing.
- 2:17:30Speaker 2: I'm not ever going to be a leading man. I'm
- 2:17:33Speaker 2: always going to be Terry Bradshaw right right, And that
- 2:17:36Speaker 2: just sucks. Seriously. You always want to be Jail Rogan. No, no, no,
- 2:17:42Speaker 2: you would like to be given him opportunity to really act.
- 2:17:45Speaker 3: Well, if I actually wanted to act yet, well yeah,
- 2:17:48Speaker 3: but I mean some people they just don't like to
- 2:17:51Speaker 3: do it. And I think with I think with Howie
- 2:17:53Speaker 3: it was probably one of those things where they probably
- 2:17:55Speaker 3: offered him a bunch of money. It looks good on paper,
- 2:17:58Speaker 3: and then you start actually doing it and you realize,
- 2:18:00Speaker 3: like you got to be away for five months filming there.
- 2:18:03Speaker 2: He was away all year one year doing the Firestorm,
- 2:18:09Speaker 2: and he was filming in Vancouver. He was flying in
- 2:18:12Speaker 2: on Saturday from Vancouver and leaving on a red eye
- 2:18:16Speaker 2: to Vancouver and filming all week. And I think breaks
- 2:18:21Speaker 2: you down three little kids.
- 2:18:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it breaks you down. It's not good for you.
- 2:18:25Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 2:18:26Speaker 2: It doesn't feel good. And I plowed him for that.
- 2:18:29Speaker 2: And he's not only is he a great husband, great dad,
- 2:18:34Speaker 2: he's a great grandfather. I'm a terrible grandfather. You got grandkids,
- 2:18:38Speaker 2: no white, terrible And I just I'm gone all the time.
- 2:18:44Speaker 2: And uh, it's kind of like getting that job.
- 2:18:48Speaker 3: I gotta have a job. I gotta go if you
- 2:18:51Speaker 3: have to travel. You were saying that you give corporate speeches,
- 2:18:54Speaker 3: like what do you do like the what are those about?
- 2:18:56Speaker 2: Species? Like what what do you speak about? Well, I'm
- 2:18:59Speaker 2: talking to a bank Wednesday morning, so I'm preparing a
- 2:19:03Speaker 2: bank speech.
- 2:19:06Speaker 3: And then what do you say to like, what do
- 2:19:08Speaker 3: you say to a bank a bunch of bankers?
- 2:19:12Speaker 8: Uh?
- 2:19:13Speaker 2: I know what, I know. It's about leadership. I know. Yeah,
- 2:19:16Speaker 2: some of it's about leadership. It's about it's it's basically
- 2:19:21Speaker 2: all the things that I know Joe have to do
- 2:19:24Speaker 2: with ambition, dreams, drive, goals, failure, overcoming failure, how to
- 2:19:33Speaker 2: deal with failure, how to rise, how to deal with success,
- 2:19:36Speaker 2: how to treat people. So it's a little bit of motivational,
- 2:19:39Speaker 2: a little bit of psychology like you used early with me,
- 2:19:43Speaker 2: use psychology with you know, you know when you did it,
- 2:19:47Speaker 2: you know, right, hey, Bernie, Bernie, he knows, and so
- 2:19:55Speaker 2: so it's different. Yeah.
- 2:19:59Speaker 3: So it's like kind of like a team building thing
- 2:20:01Speaker 3: to get together and you know what they want. Interesting,
- 2:20:04Speaker 3: when did you start doing that?
- 2:20:06Speaker 2: I've been doing it forty three years?
- 2:20:09Speaker 3: Really?
- 2:20:10Speaker 2: Wow, I know it's amazing. That's crazy, And how did
- 2:20:13Speaker 2: you get into that?
- 2:20:14Speaker 3: I gave a.
- 2:20:15Speaker 2: Speech in DestinE, Florida, for Fredo Lay and it was
- 2:20:21Speaker 2: taped and they paid me five thousand dollars and I
- 2:20:25Speaker 2: was doing speeches for twelve hundred, eight hundred and fifty
- 2:20:28Speaker 2: dollars and they offered me five thousand ducks five thousand bucks?
- 2:20:33Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? I go down there it's and
- 2:20:35Speaker 2: it's for Fredolay. So I build this speech up and
- 2:20:38Speaker 2: da da da da da, and they go give this
- 2:20:40Speaker 2: speech and the speech is really good, and they taped
- 2:20:43Speaker 2: it and they sent me a v HS copy and
- 2:20:47Speaker 2: my then wife put it on one day and thought,
- 2:20:51Speaker 2: oh my god, this is really good and it's funny.
- 2:20:53Speaker 2: And so she found out where where the bureaus were,
- 2:20:58Speaker 2: who booked speakers. There were ten really good ones, and
- 2:21:02Speaker 2: she sent this tape and a bio to ten different
- 2:21:08Speaker 2: speaking associations. All right, we got that through friend Tarkanen's
- 2:21:12Speaker 2: company in Atlanta, Georgia. They're the ones that turned us
- 2:21:14Speaker 2: onto it. So I come in, she says, I sent
- 2:21:18Speaker 2: this off. I'm getting calls now for speeches. What she said, Yeah,
- 2:21:24Speaker 2: she says, we got you want to do this, you
- 2:21:26Speaker 2: want to do that, and all of them are for
- 2:21:28Speaker 2: five thousand, five thousand. Are you shitting me? Five? I'm
- 2:21:32Speaker 2: getting five grand. Five. I'm like, oh my god, five grand. Really,
- 2:21:39Speaker 2: I'm like amazing. So I started doing these speeches for
- 2:21:43Speaker 2: all these different bureaus for five grand. Wow. So I
- 2:21:47Speaker 2: go to Hawaii on vacation and I'm int a y
- 2:21:51Speaker 2: and a company called Washington Speakers Bureau WSB. They speak nothing.
- 2:21:54Speaker 2: They booked political speakers, and they had Joe thisman and
- 2:22:01Speaker 2: Jim Valvano and maybe Lou Holtz. That's the three guys
- 2:22:06Speaker 2: they had. So they call it the Rainy Day File.
- 2:22:09Speaker 2: And they got a big box where they get all
- 2:22:11Speaker 2: the you know, people send them to them all the time. Hey, Joe,
- 2:22:14Speaker 2: you wen'll come on the show. Okay, put it over there,
- 2:22:17Speaker 2: put it and eventually you go through it. Oh, we
- 2:22:19Speaker 2: all have them on, right, That's kind of it went.
- 2:22:21Speaker 2: So one day they're looking at these tapes and they're going, no,
- 2:22:24Speaker 2: no spitting, spitting it. Then you get that came across
- 2:22:27Speaker 2: Terry Bradshaw. Hey, hey, I hear this guy's pretty good. Really,
- 2:22:33Speaker 2: we put it on, they put it on it. We
- 2:22:36Speaker 2: want to sign him. So I'm in Hawaii. I got
- 2:22:39Speaker 2: a phone call in the morning. Hello, it's Bernie Swain
- 2:22:43Speaker 2: with Washington Speaker Spiru. I'm here with Harry Rhodes. We
- 2:22:47Speaker 2: just looked at your tape. We think you've got great possibilities.
- 2:22:50Speaker 2: We'd love to represent you exclusively. Da da da da da.
- 2:22:54Speaker 2: Please call us back. I thought, what, so, you know,
- 2:23:00Speaker 2: it's Hawaii, it's what seven in the morning, so it's
- 2:23:03Speaker 2: what it's one o'clock there. Times. I call him and
- 2:23:07Speaker 2: they said, look, we think you've got great possibility and
- 2:23:12Speaker 2: we think he can. We can book you and book
- 2:23:15Speaker 2: you a lot. And I said, well, I'm being booked
- 2:23:19Speaker 2: by ten people right now. Why want I want to
- 2:23:20Speaker 2: go one one person? Well, we're going to guarantee you
- 2:23:24Speaker 2: fifty speeches. Is seventy five hundred dollars of speech. Excuse me?
- 2:23:31Speaker 2: Did you say seventy five hundred dollars? I'm like, holy cow.
- 2:23:36Speaker 2: So they said, we'll fly you from Hawaii to Washington,
- 2:23:41Speaker 2: d C. And we'd like to sit down with you
- 2:23:43Speaker 2: and go over a proposal. So I did, They did,
- 2:23:45Speaker 2: and I did. We sat out, fell in love with
- 2:23:48Speaker 2: these guys. They were awesome. Gave me a proposal fifty speeches,
- 2:23:53Speaker 2: seventy five hundred Add that up. That said pretty good.
- 2:23:55Speaker 2: That's pretty good, chunk of dough. So I signed. I'm
- 2:23:59Speaker 2: with them exclusive now, and they say we'll have you
- 2:24:01Speaker 2: at ten thousand and six months ten. You're gonna book
- 2:24:06Speaker 2: me for ten grand? Are you kidding me? That ain't?
- 2:24:10Speaker 2: That's crazy? Sure enough?
- 2:24:13Speaker 3: That's how you got into speeches. Yeah, So when you
- 2:24:15Speaker 3: do speeches, like say, like a tie like tire company
- 2:24:19Speaker 3: called whatever it is, do you write it out for that?
- 2:24:23Speaker 2: I never write it. I do not write a word.
- 2:24:27Speaker 2: I cannot write. I write here.
- 2:24:31Speaker 3: So how do you plan out a speech?
- 2:24:33Speaker 2: I write here?
- 2:24:34Speaker 3: You just sit around and think about what.
- 2:24:36Speaker 2: You're exactly and over time what speakers do? Because I
- 2:24:40Speaker 2: asked Jay Leno this one time, why you're doing all
- 2:24:42Speaker 2: You're doing one hundred stand ups. And he says, well,
- 2:24:45Speaker 2: I'll take a theme for this year, and I do it.
- 2:24:48Speaker 2: I don't change anything under the name where I'm going.
- 2:24:51Speaker 2: And so I said, oh, so I don't have to
- 2:24:54Speaker 2: change all of this every time. And I learned that
- 2:24:57Speaker 2: from Jay Leno takes the same thing and then put
- 2:25:00Speaker 2: tire company in there and build it around that. And
- 2:25:04Speaker 2: you know what else I started doing. I started reading
- 2:25:08Speaker 2: a lot psychology, salesmanship, leadership. You know. One of the
- 2:25:15Speaker 2: guys that came to hear me speak here in Austin mcgraven,
- 2:25:21Speaker 2: Admiral mcgraven. Have you had him on yet?
- 2:25:23Speaker 6: No?
- 2:25:24Speaker 2: Oh my god, the guy that gives a ten points
- 2:25:27Speaker 2: of success. Yeah, ahead of amazing fat the Osama bin Laden.
- 2:25:37Speaker 2: That's his that's his raid. The whole thing was him.
- 2:25:41Speaker 2: He designed that whole raid. Amazing human being. He's right
- 2:25:45Speaker 2: here in your backyard. You haven't had him. You ought
- 2:25:47Speaker 2: to be ashamed of yourself, Joe.
- 2:25:49Speaker 3: There's only so many days in a week you could
- 2:25:50Speaker 3: do shows. You know, can have everybody on?
- 2:25:52Speaker 2: Okay, man, do you do do a show every day?
- 2:25:55Speaker 3: Four days a week?
- 2:25:56Speaker 2: Okay, what's the day off?
- 2:25:57Speaker 3: Usually Friday, but it shifts, it shifts depending.
- 2:26:02Speaker 2: On anyway what I got going on. But you know,
- 2:26:04Speaker 2: so I I am, I build a show according to
- 2:26:10Speaker 2: what they're doing. And through all my reading, and I'm
- 2:26:16Speaker 2: naturally I think I'm gifted enough humor wise that I
- 2:26:20Speaker 2: have incorporated a ton of humor. And I mixed the
- 2:26:23Speaker 2: humor and and I'm and I incorporate the audience.
- 2:26:27Speaker 3: And so did you start doing all this reading just
- 2:26:30Speaker 3: to make your speeches better?
- 2:26:31Speaker 2: I wanted to get smarter. I wanted to get smarter.
- 2:26:34Speaker 2: I wanted to be Yeah, I wanted to be a
- 2:26:38Speaker 2: little bit up on things. Yah. I took psychology and
- 2:26:41Speaker 2: marketing and all that in college. But I I thought, hey,
- 2:26:44Speaker 2: if I'm gonna make a career of this, get all
- 2:26:46Speaker 2: the gather all the knowledge you can gather. And so
- 2:26:49Speaker 2: that's what I did. Start. I started reading all these
- 2:26:53Speaker 2: self help books. And and you know what, when you
- 2:26:55Speaker 2: do read all that, you find out it's pretty basic.
- 2:26:58Speaker 2: There is a common there's a there's a foundation, a
- 2:27:01Speaker 2: common den I'm area that all of them have. And
- 2:27:05Speaker 2: so I don't steal. I don't steal material, but I
- 2:27:08Speaker 2: do still I do program my speeches I'm going on
- 2:27:14Speaker 2: stage and forgot the name of the company. I did
- 2:27:18Speaker 2: that once. I did that once. I went on stage
- 2:27:23Speaker 2: in Vegas for a huge five thousand people, and I
- 2:27:27Speaker 2: went out there and I'm you know, I've got a
- 2:27:29Speaker 2: style about me. It's a freelance. It's hey, you know,
- 2:27:33Speaker 2: I work the crowd. I get to know him. I'm
- 2:27:34Speaker 2: having a good time, feeling good. And I haven't even
- 2:27:38Speaker 2: started my speech in the meeting plan to the guy
- 2:27:41Speaker 2: that let's give it that, give it that. Terry Bratshall, Terry,
- 2:27:45Speaker 2: but tank you, Terry, thank you so much, Terry Bradshaw.
- 2:27:48Speaker 2: They escort me off ten minutes. Ten minutes, so there's
- 2:27:54Speaker 2: three that happened.
- 2:27:56Speaker 3: Why they escort you?
- 2:27:57Speaker 2: He thought I didn't. He thought I did know what
- 2:28:00Speaker 2: I was doing. I guess, but that he did obviously
- 2:28:04Speaker 2: didn't look at my tapes, and but I was just
- 2:28:07Speaker 2: I was just having fun with the crowd before I
- 2:28:10Speaker 2: you know, I work my way. Sometimes I sometimes I'll
- 2:28:13Speaker 2: go right into it, uh huh. Sometimes I want sometimes
- 2:28:16Speaker 2: I'll hey, hey, you know, I mess with him.
- 2:28:19Speaker 3: I'm just having fun.
- 2:28:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, he out of there. Wow, oh very what
- 2:28:26Speaker 2: kind of company was that? Someone that could afford to
- 2:28:29Speaker 2: pay me and not have me give a speech. Yeah.
- 2:28:33Speaker 3: Bad, Well, some people are burying patience and bad.
- 2:28:35Speaker 2: It was bad. And I asked my wife in the
- 2:28:37Speaker 2: car going to the airport, you know when you said
- 2:28:39Speaker 2: what's wrong? And I said, what did I do something wrong?
- 2:28:41Speaker 2: She said, you did nothing wrong. This guy just doesn't
- 2:28:44Speaker 2: know your style.
- 2:28:46Speaker 3: So they just hired you based on name alone and
- 2:28:48Speaker 3: didn't know what they were getting.
- 2:28:49Speaker 2: Excuse me. I would imagine that other thing. I would
- 2:28:52Speaker 2: think name alone has a lot to do with all
- 2:28:54Speaker 2: my And if you went for Super Bowls, you know
- 2:28:59Speaker 2: press sure, you know up and down, you know how
- 2:29:02Speaker 2: to deal with You get in the huddle? How do
- 2:29:03Speaker 2: you manage a huddle? How do you do this? How
- 2:29:05Speaker 2: do you call plays? And I make fun of all
- 2:29:07Speaker 2: these guys that have placards on their forearm number four,
- 2:29:12Speaker 2: Look number four where I had to go second and eight? Okay,
- 2:29:18Speaker 2: look second and eight. Here with there, let's go let's
- 2:29:20Speaker 2: go there. No no, no, wait a minute, wait a
- 2:29:24Speaker 2: bitte No, no, I don't want to run that. Let's
- 2:29:26Speaker 2: go this. And I'm totally run the I totally ran
- 2:29:29Speaker 2: the huddle, the whole thing. What do y'all think can
- 2:29:32Speaker 2: we do that? No, we can't. What do you want
- 2:29:33Speaker 2: to do that? I ran the huddle. I was smart
- 2:29:38Speaker 2: enough as the chairman of the board in the huddle
- 2:29:45Speaker 2: to say, I don't have all the answers I thought
- 2:29:49Speaker 2: I did. We're not doing very well here. I'm going
- 2:29:52Speaker 2: to try this play. But what do y'all think? And
- 2:29:55Speaker 2: I got input? Oh is there anything better than input?
- 2:29:59Speaker 2: Is there anything better than the people that are doing
- 2:30:02Speaker 2: as a as a sales team? You got a sales
- 2:30:04Speaker 2: manager and sales teams come back said no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 2:30:07Speaker 2: this is not a good this isn't working. They don't
- 2:30:10Speaker 2: like this data, and you change it. Smart people make
- 2:30:13Speaker 2: adjustments in the middle of chaos, right competition, And that's
- 2:30:19Speaker 2: how that's how I ran. I ran the huddle. The
- 2:30:23Speaker 2: huddle and speaking speaking is I know where I'm going
- 2:30:30Speaker 2: want to walk on stage? And once I get on stage,
- 2:30:33Speaker 2: I can tell within five minutes I'm going to change
- 2:30:36Speaker 2: my direction and I can't been doing it forty something years.
- 2:30:41Speaker 2: I got, you know, eight hours of material, not to
- 2:30:44Speaker 2: mention all the new material I'm getting every week, so
- 2:30:47Speaker 2: I can change it. And I've got to tell you
- 2:30:50Speaker 2: your stand up comedian is there anything better than getting
- 2:30:56Speaker 2: on stage and deliver performance? And they are just laughing everything,
- 2:31:01Speaker 2: just rolling, just rolling, just rolling, And you walk off
- 2:31:05Speaker 2: and they're screaming Joe, Joe, Joe. You're like, god, man,
- 2:31:09Speaker 2: I nailed it tonight. And then you walk off or
- 2:31:12Speaker 2: going out and go hell did hear this the other day?
- 2:31:15Speaker 2: Well but didn't? And everything falls flat. And when you
- 2:31:18Speaker 2: leave and you go off stage and you're are you
- 2:31:23Speaker 2: not miserable? Miserable? Miserable? Sure, you don't want to be miserable. No,
- 2:31:27Speaker 2: you did everything you could to make him enjoyable. I'm
- 2:31:30Speaker 2: entertaining them. I want this to be a great experience
- 2:31:34Speaker 2: for them. And when you fail, it's devastating, devastating. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:31:41Speaker 2: so you have to pay you well, you think they.
- 2:31:43Speaker 3: Pay you to be it, They pay you to be entertaining.
- 2:31:46Speaker 2: Yeah, po poor oh Jamie, Sorry, Jay, I'm sorry, man.
- 2:31:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I would imagine that. It's a completely
- 2:31:53Speaker 3: different thing. But a lot of guy like you go
- 2:31:57Speaker 3: and talk to a corporation and it's got to be
- 2:31:59Speaker 3: very fun of them, you know, because you know you're
- 2:32:02Speaker 3: guys won the Super Bowl.
- 2:32:03Speaker 2: Yeah, guys like my speeches. My speeches are do you
- 2:32:10Speaker 2: know who Joel Hosting is? I know the name preacher
- 2:32:15Speaker 2: and Joe. What did I say? Hold sting like the
- 2:32:19Speaker 2: cow Oldsting. He didn't go to church. He doesn't know
- 2:32:24Speaker 2: it's old Sting.
- 2:32:25Speaker 3: Yeah guy, he's a does the giant.
- 2:32:28Speaker 2: Yeah? Still, God, look at the mountain. You see the
- 2:32:32Speaker 2: mountain one of those good guys. It's a good guy
- 2:32:35Speaker 2: and people need that in their life. I like to
- 2:32:39Speaker 2: say it's it's there's another mountain out there. But if
- 2:32:42Speaker 2: you continue down the path you're going. And I want,
- 2:32:44Speaker 2: I want, I want my hands spanked. You know, I
- 2:32:48Speaker 2: don't need it spanked. I know it should be spank,
- 2:32:50Speaker 2: but I want him to spank. It's fine with me speaking.
- 2:32:55Speaker 2: When I go out to speak, I'm a feel good
- 2:32:58Speaker 2: I want I'm a feel good guy, you know, unless
- 2:33:03Speaker 2: they say to me, here's where we're struggling, and we
- 2:33:06Speaker 2: need you to add this to this and this.
- 2:33:08Speaker 3: So sometimes they'll give you a direction.
- 2:33:10Speaker 2: Always they always give you a direction.
- 2:33:12Speaker 3: Okay, So they have a way purpose.
- 2:33:13Speaker 2: You always know where you're going, You always know what
- 2:33:16Speaker 2: your audience is.
- 2:33:17Speaker 3: Yeah, well it sounds like you really enjoy it.
- 2:33:19Speaker 2: But that's a lot about it.
- 2:33:20Speaker 3: So is that what you're doing. When you're doing two
- 2:33:22Speaker 3: hundred and fifty dates a year, A lot of those.
- 2:33:24Speaker 2: I do, yeah, a lot Tuesday Wednesday of this week.
- 2:33:29Speaker 2: Then I'll get off. I do thirty a year, which
- 2:33:32Speaker 2: is plenty. That's a lot. Yeah, that's a lot. When
- 2:33:35Speaker 2: you're getting five million of a speech. I mean you
- 2:33:37Speaker 2: got to think about it. We think buck Old booked
- 2:33:43Speaker 2: over there. He's like, I'll be so glad when this
- 2:33:46Speaker 2: boy's off.
- 2:33:48Speaker 3: He likes you, Terry, thank you very much for being here.
- 2:33:51Speaker 2: Man.
- 2:33:51Speaker 3: This is a lot of fun.
- 2:33:52Speaker 2: I really enjoyed it. It's great to talk to you.
- 2:33:54Speaker 2: Me too. I'm uh, thank you. Thanks Joe, been watching
- 2:33:58Speaker 2: you enjoy yours.
- 2:34:00Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 2:34:01Speaker 2: You're insightful. You do your homework.
- 2:34:04Speaker 3: I helped you today though you did help me a lot.
- 2:34:07Speaker 2: Yeah, doing what you do it's not easy.
- 2:34:10Speaker 3: I found out about limousine cattle. Yeah, you taught me
- 2:34:13Speaker 3: some things.
- 2:34:14Speaker 2: I know. I know you know how to fix a
- 2:34:16Speaker 2: pearl lap? Futeris?
- 2:34:17Speaker 3: What's that?
- 2:34:21Speaker 2: Show him? Jamie rather not.
- 2:34:25Speaker 3: So tell everybody how they buy this whiskey? Is it everywhere?
- 2:34:28Speaker 3: Can you get there?
- 2:34:29Speaker 2: Aleven State? Right now? You can go, Terry Bradshaw bourbon
- 2:34:34Speaker 2: dot com. You'll find out where we are in.
- 2:34:37Speaker 3: Tex Terry Bradshaw Bourbon dot there it is. Look at that.
- 2:34:41Speaker 2: That's not a good picture. I should have had.
- 2:34:43Speaker 3: Oh look at the cigars, Joe solid picture.
- 2:34:45Speaker 2: Yeah cigar, that's an old man, you're fifty eight.
- 2:34:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and look at that. You got a serious whiskey
- 2:34:51Speaker 3: sifter there? What are those things called sniffer?
- 2:34:54Speaker 2: Those are good. That's like you're a serious taste, you know.
- 2:34:58Speaker 2: It is the thing about now people think boy's making
- 2:35:04Speaker 2: a killing off the whisky. I'm not. I may make
- 2:35:07Speaker 2: six thousand dollars this year, six but we're building that.
- 2:35:12Speaker 2: We're building it. It's slow. Whiskey. Bourbon is slow, man.
- 2:35:15Speaker 2: It has to aig.
- 2:35:16Speaker 3: You go down?
- 2:35:17Speaker 2: Do you go down that Aislean? Yeah? Five thousand and
- 2:35:21Speaker 2: we've won all these awards all that. We beat them all, all,
- 2:35:25Speaker 2: beat them all.
- 2:35:26Speaker 3: Congratulations, thank you.
- 2:35:27Speaker 2: I'm so proud of that. And the thing about the
- 2:35:29Speaker 2: juice is mine I created this year.
- 2:35:31Speaker 3: It has to be something that you love doing. Yeah,
- 2:35:33Speaker 3: that's not something you know what it could be.
- 2:35:36Speaker 2: It could be any other product. I think it's just
- 2:35:40Speaker 2: the fact that I get to go out and sell it.
- 2:35:42Speaker 2: I like well, it's an age product.
- 2:35:44Speaker 3: It's a different like if you were selling vodka or tequila,
- 2:35:47Speaker 3: something you could just make real quick. Now this is
- 2:35:50Speaker 3: it's a different thing. Aged whiskeys are very different.
- 2:35:52Speaker 2: Took me a year and a half to get the
- 2:35:53Speaker 2: blend right, the blend the juice took me a year
- 2:35:57Speaker 2: and a half before I agreed to it in a bottle.
- 2:36:01Speaker 2: Then when I put it in a bottle, I wanted
- 2:36:04Speaker 2: this is old gun smoke sen it on the count.
- 2:36:07Speaker 2: I wanted a gun smoke bottle and this is the
- 2:36:10Speaker 2: original label and that's gunpowder gunpowder gray. And uh, the
- 2:36:17Speaker 2: super Bowl stuff is put on there by you know,
- 2:36:20Speaker 2: the bottling company, which I didn't really that wasn't part
- 2:36:24Speaker 2: of it. You know, Joe, you ever got to a
- 2:36:26Speaker 2: point in your life when you go, can I not
- 2:36:28Speaker 2: sell something that's really good without happening to be me?
- 2:36:33Speaker 2: It would have been like out if it had to
- 2:36:34Speaker 2: be you, Terry, can it not be just because it's good?
- 2:36:39Speaker 2: You certainly could do that. Yeah, my stud horses, I
- 2:36:42Speaker 2: have the best stud horses in America, you know best,
- 2:36:46Speaker 2: and they're bringing world champions and I'm so proud of that.
- 2:36:49Speaker 2: And the business is good. You know, but I don't
- 2:36:53Speaker 2: have to sell them. They're sting there. We have offspring.
- 2:36:58Speaker 3: Whiskey.
- 2:36:58Speaker 2: This is this. I would want my dad to see it.
- 2:37:01Speaker 3: But there, it is there, it is there. It is
- 2:37:06Speaker 3: all right.
- 2:37:06Speaker 2: But thank you, thank you, thank you so much. I've
- 2:37:09Speaker 2: been a huge fan for many years. And me and
- 2:37:11Speaker 2: thanks we didn't get into politics. I'm very thankful. I'm
- 2:37:14Speaker 2: glad to Yeah, me too, I bet you are. I
- 2:37:16Speaker 2: know I am enough enough enough of that in this world.
- 2:37:19Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you one, all right, bye, everybody,
