- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Somemo the issues you really care about on seven
- 0:04Speaker 1: ten WR.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Well, it's a little better today, it's not quite as
- 0:15Speaker 2: cold as yesterday. We got a lot to get to
- 0:18Speaker 2: this hour, the affordability crisis, we got Mom Donnie to
- 0:24Speaker 2: talk about, and Christmas and a whole lot of stuff.
- 0:29Speaker 2: When you're in the supermarket more and more, have you
- 0:32Speaker 2: started using the self checkout or you still? It depends
- 0:35Speaker 2: if your cashiers. They always have like seven lanes and
- 0:39Speaker 2: only three cashiers, and I've never seen have you ever
- 0:44Speaker 2: been in the supermarket? We're every single aisle, every single
- 0:48Speaker 2: lane has a cashier and it never ever, ever, why
- 0:50Speaker 2: did they do that? Like when you go to the bank,
- 0:52Speaker 2: they have twelve windows, there's always two tellers. Why did
- 0:55Speaker 2: they build twelve windows. There's never been twelve tellers working
- 0:59Speaker 2: at the same time ever in a bank. So when
- 1:02Speaker 2: you go to the self checkout, it's pretty easy unless
- 1:06Speaker 2: you got stuff that's got to be weighed, and then
- 1:08Speaker 2: it gets a little tough. Now, be honest, did you
- 1:13Speaker 2: ever steal anything at the self checkout? You know, you
- 1:16Speaker 2: don't have to run every single item right by that scanner.
- 1:21Speaker 2: You run one or two. You got your bag set up,
- 1:23Speaker 2: you're throwing them in the bag. Be totally honest. Did
- 1:28Speaker 2: you ever maybe one item you didn't ring up for
- 1:31Speaker 2: two or three? Well, it happens a lot. There's a
- 1:33Speaker 2: couple of chains that got rid of self checkout because
- 1:35Speaker 2: of that exact problem. They were losing too much to theft.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Now there's been a study done about this apparently, Now
- 1:46Speaker 2: who would steal like that from the self checkout? Wealthy
- 1:49Speaker 2: Americans apparently are stealing much more from self served checkouts
- 1:54Speaker 2: than anybody else. A sizable for of wealthy Americans have
- 2:01Speaker 2: admitted to not scanning an item in a store. Now,
- 2:04Speaker 2: sometimes you try to scan it, it doesn't scan. Or sometimes
- 2:07Speaker 2: it's bananas or something you got to weigh at thedaa
- 2:10Speaker 2: know you know, know how to you just throw it
- 2:11Speaker 2: in the bag. If you break it down. By sex,
- 2:15Speaker 2: men steal far more than women do, almost more than
- 2:20Speaker 2: double the rate. Well okay, I mean, it's pretty obvious
- 2:23Speaker 2: men do more bad things than women do. Generally, many
- 2:27Speaker 2: of those surveys said they feel justified in stealing some
- 2:29Speaker 2: minor items. Thirty percent say the store is too large
- 2:34Speaker 2: and profitable. They don't feel the petty theft will do
- 2:38Speaker 2: anything to them thirty five percent. So they feel that
- 2:42Speaker 2: having to scan the items and self checkout is unpaid labor,
- 2:46Speaker 2: and this is compensation for it. It's kind of true.
- 2:52Speaker 2: You know. Remember Amazon opened those stores. They had one
- 2:55Speaker 2: in Time Warners Center, they had one near Grandson. Remember
- 2:57Speaker 2: Amazon tried doing stores, these little stores where you could
- 3:00Speaker 2: walk in, grab a little shopping cart thing and take
- 3:06Speaker 2: whatever you want and leave because each item had some
- 3:09Speaker 2: little tag on it that as you walked out, the
- 3:12Speaker 2: door would click and it would build your Amazon account automatically. Now,
- 3:18Speaker 2: whatever happened to that? Why can't I guess it's tougher
- 3:20Speaker 2: for a supermarket to do it, But that's the best
- 3:22Speaker 2: system Amazon tried that. I noticed those stores are all
- 3:25Speaker 2: gone now, but it was a great idea. Walk in,
- 3:28Speaker 2: grab whatever you want. Everything's got a little tag that
- 3:31Speaker 2: like a little Bluetooth tag on it. It'll when you
- 3:34Speaker 2: walk out, you go through a scanner, it'll see exactly
- 3:37Speaker 2: what you took in charge you for. It makes perfect sense.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Luigi Mangioni, the hearing's going on, and I keep reading
- 3:44Speaker 2: all these things about how good looking he is. Do
- 3:46Speaker 2: you find him really good looking? Luigi Mangioni, There is
- 3:52Speaker 2: something about him. Women like, I don't know, they like
- 3:55Speaker 2: his eyes, they like as this, I don't know, they
- 3:57Speaker 2: like those big normal eyebrows whatever, and a good looking
- 4:04Speaker 2: I don't know, you kind of look. If you're making
- 4:06Speaker 2: a movie about Lenny Bruce, I could see hiring him
- 4:08Speaker 2: to play Lenny Bruce. He kind of has that look
- 4:10Speaker 2: about him. But Lenny Bruce was like a good looking guy,
- 4:13Speaker 2: but kind of ratty looking, a little scruffy looking. So
- 4:16Speaker 2: I don't know, But there's more and more of this
- 4:20Speaker 2: where on the left they just idolize any kind of criminal.
- 4:24Speaker 2: You could be an illegal alien, you could be a
- 4:27Speaker 2: narco terrorist moving drugs. You could even be an assassin.
- 4:30Speaker 2: To hear a criminal, The left loves you. They're out
- 4:33Speaker 2: there fighting for you. And even these candidates Brad Lander
- 4:38Speaker 2: talking about fighting for immigrants, they're not immigrants. They're illegals.
- 4:43Speaker 2: They're illegals that broke into the country. There's nothing more
- 4:46Speaker 2: insulting to immigrants than putting illegal illegals across the border illegally,
- 4:53Speaker 2: into the same category with them. It's just a awful
- 4:57Speaker 2: awful thing to do, but it's happening more and more so.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It's also a movement right now to get rid of
- 5:07Speaker 2: you know, no more cell phones in the classroom. Kid
- 5:10Speaker 2: comes to school, got to lock up his cell phones
- 5:12Speaker 2: for the day. When he leaves, he gets it back.
- 5:14Speaker 2: But now there's more and more of a movement to
- 5:17Speaker 2: take it away from kids in general, like no more
- 5:20Speaker 2: cell phones, no more social media for a kid. And
- 5:25Speaker 2: this is both sides of the aisle. Republicans talking about it,
- 5:28Speaker 2: Democrats talking about it. You may have seen the ram
- 5:31Speaker 2: Emmanuel I don't know why he thinks this is a
- 5:34Speaker 2: big issue for him. He wants to run for president
- 5:36Speaker 2: in twenty twenty eight. All over the airwaves now talking
- 5:39Speaker 2: about no more social media for kids, keep it away
- 5:42Speaker 2: from them. Even Lara Trump on a show said they
- 5:46Speaker 2: got three kids. They got one iPad for the kids,
- 5:49Speaker 2: and they lock it up most of the day. They
- 5:51Speaker 2: want their kids reading books. Well, okay, but this has
- 5:57Speaker 2: gone on forever, this debate. You know, you got a
- 6:01Speaker 2: kid now he's spending too many hours looking at his phone,
- 6:04Speaker 2: looking at social media, looking at this. But it is
- 6:07Speaker 2: the same thing years ago when you were a kid,
- 6:09Speaker 2: only it was television. It wasn't social media. You know,
- 6:13Speaker 2: your parents would yell you stop watching TV all day,
- 6:15Speaker 2: go outside and play, go do your homework. Why don't
- 6:18Speaker 2: just sit there and watch TV? And you might think
- 6:21Speaker 2: that's not as bad, but it was just as bad.
- 6:23Speaker 2: What were you watching on TV? Nothing Worthwhile you're watching
- 6:26Speaker 2: Gilligan's Island reruns, you're watching The Monsters every day. I mean,
- 6:30Speaker 2: it wasn't anything great you were watching. You probably learn
- 6:33Speaker 2: more on TikTok than you did back then watching The
- 6:36Speaker 2: Monsters every day and reruns or I'll leave it to
- 6:39Speaker 2: Beaver was a show with some substance to it. So
- 6:44Speaker 2: there's more and more of this movement to get kids
- 6:45Speaker 2: to read books. But you kind of need the phone
- 6:50Speaker 2: to read a book. You need your kindle there to
- 6:52Speaker 2: read it. But I guess you could still read actual
- 6:53Speaker 2: books now. But we'll see where this goes. So Tucker
- 6:59Speaker 2: car people keep asking about this, What the hell happened
- 7:02Speaker 2: to him? You know, Tucker Carlson was a pretty respectable,
- 7:05Speaker 2: legitimate figure when he was on Fox News. There he
- 7:09Speaker 2: was discussing issues with great American politicians. Now you see
- 7:15Speaker 2: the guy and he's like a raving maniac online and
- 7:20Speaker 2: he's got this anti semi creep weirdo on. He's allowing
- 7:25Speaker 2: this guy to have his say on his show, and
- 7:29Speaker 2: then what was it earlier this week he's in cutter
- 7:32Speaker 2: talking about how he's moving there. Just one wacky thing
- 7:35Speaker 2: after another, and then you see a bunch of these
- 7:37Speaker 2: people doing that, Megan Kelly, all these people acting like
- 7:40Speaker 2: wacko lunatics, and what it is they've all been fired.
- 7:44Speaker 2: They don't work anywhere anymore. You know, if you're on
- 7:47Speaker 2: the Fox News channel, it's got millions of viewers, and
- 7:50Speaker 2: if you do a show there millions of people we'll
- 7:52Speaker 2: see you. Now if you get fired and you're doing
- 7:55Speaker 2: a podcast out of your bedroom and you're not on
- 7:59Speaker 2: a network, nobody sees you. So the only way what
- 8:02Speaker 2: do you do? How do you get attention? Well, you
- 8:04Speaker 2: got to do some crazy thing that goes viral, even
- 8:07Speaker 2: if it's on the left, left wing stuff, you know,
- 8:09Speaker 2: the left wing sites start attacking you like crazy. At
- 8:13Speaker 2: least it gets your attention and publicity. So that's why
- 8:16Speaker 2: Megan Kelly became a total wacko. Also Tucker Carlson, Now
- 8:21Speaker 2: there's a few others. It's kind of like you remember
- 8:23Speaker 2: Alex Jones, who you know, normal people didn't pay any
- 8:28Speaker 2: attention to him, but all the rednecks and hillbilly's and
- 8:30Speaker 2: wackos and all. They love this Alex Jones and they
- 8:33Speaker 2: went crazy with him. And he made a fortune, made
- 8:36Speaker 2: hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars to do.
- 8:38Speaker 3: So that's.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Tucker Carlson, Megan Kelly, there's a few others like that.
- 8:44Speaker 2: They just have to act totally nuts, outrageous. They're trying
- 8:46Speaker 2: to become the new Alex Jones. You know, you would
- 8:50Speaker 2: think Tucker would know better, but apparently he would not
- 8:55Speaker 2: know better than that. So now Charlie Kirk was a
- 9:04Speaker 2: different case. Now here was a guy who had a
- 9:07Speaker 2: huge audience, didn't have to do wacky things. He was
- 9:10Speaker 2: preaching great stuff, and he was preaching a lot of
- 9:13Speaker 2: stuff you'd want somebody to try to get across to
- 9:17Speaker 2: younger people, you know, take more interest in religion, go
- 9:19Speaker 2: into church and read the Bible, and I mean, this
- 9:22Speaker 2: is all fine stuff. But the left wing went after
- 9:25Speaker 2: him like crazy. It led to his assassination. He apparently
- 9:29Speaker 2: had written a book before he died, and his wife
- 9:34Speaker 2: has now put out the book and it's going around
- 9:37Speaker 2: promoting it and it's riled up these left wing nuts. Again,
- 9:41Speaker 2: here's a left wing podcaster Jennifer Welch. And there's Trump
- 9:47Speaker 2: derangement syndrome. There's Hagsith derangement syndrome. There's Charlie Kirk derangement syndrome. Her.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Now here's another one who went viral with this wacko stuff.
- 9:58Speaker 2: It's about Charlie Kirk screaming and wildly unhinged rants. He's
- 10:02Speaker 2: a racist, he's an opportunistic grifter. The wife is a grifter.
- 10:08Speaker 2: This woman should be kicked to the curb. She goes
- 10:11Speaker 2: just like Donald Trump, just like her unrepentant, racist, homophobic husband.
- 10:18Speaker 2: There's no truth to any of this. It's just lunacy.
- 10:22Speaker 2: You saw Letterman doing the same thing last night when
- 10:25Speaker 2: he was on Jimmy Kimmel. Listen, we got a lot
- 10:27Speaker 2: of people we don't like, we don't like Mom Donnie.
- 10:30Speaker 2: But I don't see anybody go nuts about him. It's
- 10:32Speaker 2: not derangement syndrome. And we just can't stand Mom Donnie.
- 10:35Speaker 2: But if you listen to people, they'll say, you know,
- 10:37Speaker 2: he's only thirty four, he's never even run anything, he's
- 10:39Speaker 2: never even had a job. Okay, well that's a legitimate argument.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And the things he said are anti semitic. He's been
- 10:45Speaker 2: quite anti semitic and some of the things. Yeah, okay,
- 10:47Speaker 2: that's a good seems to be very pro criminal. Yeah
- 10:51Speaker 2: that's true. But we don't go on and on and
- 10:54Speaker 2: on screaming that he's a thief and there's no ranting
- 10:58Speaker 2: and raving and nut I don't know what it is.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Psychologists have studied this. It's and they say it's not
- 11:07Speaker 2: just about Trump, it's about other things in their life.
- 11:09Speaker 2: They hate their father. It's daddy syndrome. I mean, if
- 11:12Speaker 2: there's all these explanations you can read online from psychologists,
- 11:15Speaker 2: they're seeing things in Trump that set them off about
- 11:18Speaker 2: other things in their life. They just get it's they
- 11:21Speaker 2: get childlike, childish. You know, if you said, yeah, I
- 11:25Speaker 2: really don't like that, mom, Donny, I don't like anything
- 11:27Speaker 2: he's saying. I don't like what he stands. Okay, that's fine.
- 11:30Speaker 2: But if you start ranting and raving and screaming about
- 11:33Speaker 2: it's just childish. And you look at these people doing
- 11:36Speaker 2: it about Trump, it's just out of control. It's just childlike.
- 11:41Speaker 2: It's you know, it's been going on for ten years now,
- 11:44Speaker 2: and ten years ago we thought, well, all right, it'll
- 11:47Speaker 2: get better. After a few it's this has gotten worse
- 11:49Speaker 2: and worse and worse. It's never gonna stop. We're gonna
- 11:52Speaker 2: have to live with this disease for the rest of
- 11:54Speaker 2: our life. Hey, Judge's ordered the release of the Epstein
- 12:00Speaker 2: case grand jury transcripts. So this is the other thing
- 12:04Speaker 2: with the left. They always think they got Trump. They
- 12:06Speaker 2: got him now on something. This is a big deal.
- 12:09Speaker 2: They've got him on this. They're going to Judge is
- 12:11Speaker 2: ruled the grand jury transcripts from the Epstein case have
- 12:16Speaker 2: to be released now. Again, if you talk to people
- 12:18Speaker 2: that have seen everything, they've seen these grand jury things,
- 12:22Speaker 2: they've seen the full Epstein files. You talk to people
- 12:25Speaker 2: in the US Attorney's office that saw them. If you
- 12:27Speaker 2: talk to even Alan Dershwitz, who was the attorney for
- 12:31Speaker 2: Epstein and or Yeah, he was Epstein's attorney for a while,
- 12:35Speaker 2: so he saw everything. People who have seen everything tell
- 12:38Speaker 2: you there's absolutely nothing in any file, in any grand
- 12:42Speaker 2: jury transcript, there's nothing anywhere in any of these documents
- 12:46Speaker 2: that would tell you anything you haven't heard already. All
- 12:49Speaker 2: the names that are in there, you've already heard. Oh,
- 12:51Speaker 2: there might be one or two little names, unknown people,
- 12:54Speaker 2: but there's every major name that's in there. You've already
- 12:57Speaker 2: heard about it if you talk to them. What's in
- 12:59Speaker 2: theo Epstein Father It's basically just witness transcripts of witness interviews.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Nothing to outrageous. So, but that's not Remember the same
- 13:09Speaker 2: thing with the MRI. They we're trying to get Trump's MRI.
- 13:12Speaker 2: The Left went nuts trying to get that MRI. Well
- 13:16Speaker 2: they finally got it in the same thing, Eh, it
- 13:18Speaker 2: was nothing. There uh one thing I like about Christmas?
- 13:21Speaker 2: All these artists you get to hear. You know, obviously
- 13:26Speaker 2: you can walk around in the world today and hear
- 13:27Speaker 2: Taylor Swift all the time or Dual Liapa, But how
- 13:30Speaker 2: often you get to hear Elvis nowadays? So every Christmas,
- 13:35Speaker 2: if you're in your teens or even in your twenties,
- 13:37Speaker 2: every Christmas, who the hell is this guy? And then
- 13:40Speaker 2: it's your only exposure to Elvia? And then I don't know,
- 13:43Speaker 2: maybe I would think a lot of them. If you
- 13:45Speaker 2: get interested in the guy, Oh, this guy's pretty interesting.
- 13:47Speaker 2: They start googling him youtubingham and start to hear his
- 13:51Speaker 2: other hits. Like, if you're twenty six, you'd never in
- 13:54Speaker 2: your life heard of this guy bing Crosby. Who the
- 13:56Speaker 2: hell's this guy? And they have no idea that from
- 14:00Speaker 2: like nineteen thirty to nineteen fifty, this guy was the
- 14:03Speaker 2: single most famous singer in the world. This guy was
- 14:06Speaker 2: the biggest figure in entertainment for like twenty five years
- 14:11Speaker 2: before Sinatra took over. This guy was the voice of
- 14:14Speaker 2: America for decades. Looking back on it, well, you admit
- 14:18Speaker 2: you were nuts listening to this Still you still so
- 14:20Speaker 2: you hear all these people now, you would never hear
- 14:22Speaker 2: nobody would ever hear Andy Williams today if it wasn't
- 14:24Speaker 2: for Christmas or Perry Como. I loved Perry Como lived
- 14:28Speaker 2: right there, right in Long Island, lived in Sand's Point.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Earth a Kit that's one of the biggest Christmas So
- 14:34Speaker 2: I love earth a Kit. She was one of the
- 14:35Speaker 2: greatest singers I know. Her daughter. Her daughter has a
- 14:40Speaker 2: kit Shapiro store in Westport, Connecticut. Clothing store actually put
- 14:44Speaker 2: out a perfume called Eartha if you want a great perfume.
- 14:47Speaker 2: And I hate to break it to you, but there's
- 14:49Speaker 2: a lot of kids today who really wouldn't know who
- 14:52Speaker 2: the hell Paul McCartney was about. What another The Beatles
- 14:55Speaker 2: broke up fifty five years ago. I mean, there's a
- 14:58Speaker 2: lot of wouldn't know, so one great thing about Christmas. Hey,
- 15:01Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:05Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number, eight hundred three two
- 15:08Speaker 2: one zero seven.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Ten, mister mers Mark simone.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Wr Let's take some calls.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Let's go to Jean in Florida. Jean, how are you
- 15:23Speaker 2: doing Florida?
- 15:24Speaker 5: Mark? I love you down here and I love you
- 15:26Speaker 5: in Connecticut.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Where are you in Florida?
- 15:28Speaker 5: A bureau beach?
- 15:29Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 15:31Speaker 5: The other day, President Trump took the time to honor
- 15:34Speaker 5: the Blessed Mother on the Feist the assumption. It was beautiful.
- 15:38Speaker 5: He gave a beautiful speech. I have not read one
- 15:41Speaker 5: thing about that in the in the papers. And I'm
- 15:44Speaker 5: just wondering if you can comment why there's been no
- 15:47Speaker 5: coverage of when he honored the Blessed Mother last week.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Gotta be honest, doesn't sound like the most exciting story
- 15:54Speaker 2: in the world. Well to Catay, you talk to you else.
- 16:01Speaker 2: You got a lot of energy. You talk very fast.
- 16:03Speaker 2: You know, if you don't want to be in Florida,
- 16:05Speaker 2: you can't talk like that. You got to learn how
- 16:06Speaker 2: to talk slow, to talk in Florida. You're not a
- 16:09Speaker 2: year round resident.
- 16:10Speaker 5: I can tell no six months.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, because you still got that Northeastern energy about you.
- 16:17Speaker 5: Get out of my way.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that's good. Don't don't end up like those Florida
- 16:21Speaker 2: people that end up talking slow and everything. Well, sing,
- 16:25Speaker 2: great call, thanks for calling. Let's go. Let's go to Blouvelt.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Also in Florida, Blouvelt.
- 16:30Speaker 6: How you doing, good morning, walksimone, how are you good?
- 16:34Speaker 2: Hey, everybody in Florida listens to us. Will you admit
- 16:37Speaker 2: that's because you miss New York? You all wish you
- 16:39Speaker 2: were back here.
- 16:40Speaker 6: Oh God, I missed from New York. So the first
- 16:43Speaker 6: thing I do when I land man going to the Wordia,
- 16:46Speaker 6: I go right to the city and write down a
- 16:47Speaker 6: Lombardi's on Spring Street. Yeah, that's my favorite. That's my
- 16:51Speaker 6: favorite joint down there. Hey, two things, and I haven't
- 16:54Speaker 6: heard too much about the first thing. When I ask
- 16:57Speaker 6: you out affinity, Devin, I heard this story. Worry about
- 17:00Speaker 6: the Omar how she had like she was worth sixty
- 17:04Speaker 6: five thousand dollars two years ago and now she's worth
- 17:07Speaker 6: ten million dollars.
- 17:09Speaker 2: God bless America.
- 17:10Speaker 6: Yes, God, bless America. And another question is how come
- 17:14Speaker 6: Donald never sits back in a chair. He always leans
- 17:17Speaker 6: forward and he's got his hands on his knees.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Uh.
- 17:20Speaker 2: That's just because he's like a lion. He's like a tiger.
- 17:22Speaker 2: He's like ready to pounce. He never sits back.
- 17:26Speaker 3: I like that.
- 17:27Speaker 2: No, it's real, it's really that's the reason he never
- 17:30Speaker 2: sits back. He's ready to spring up and go into
- 17:32Speaker 2: action at any moment. You can learn a lot watching
- 17:34Speaker 2: that guy about how to be here.
- 17:36Speaker 6: I do.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, thanks for calling. Let's go to uh
- 17:41Speaker 2: Joel also in Florida, Joel, how you doing.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Good morning market, Yes, Joey, Florida. Okay, when I when
- 17:47Speaker 4: I was in college, my undergraduate studies and take the
- 17:50Speaker 4: learning psychology and sociology press, he used to tell us
- 17:54Speaker 4: that many people in their pre teens and teens used
- 17:57Speaker 4: to look at successful parents as being too authoritarian, and
- 18:00Speaker 4: they had a resentment for that. Well, it seems that
- 18:03Speaker 4: this is what's causing the Trump's arrangement syndrum.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Well, yeah, actually a mother number of psychologists have come
- 18:08Speaker 2: on this show and have written that it's daddy issues.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Exactly what you're saying. That's one reason they absolutely, Hey Trump,
- 18:14Speaker 2: not aybody has these issues, and that's why not everybody's
- 18:17Speaker 2: like that. Let's go to Hey Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent.
- 18:20Speaker 2: How you doing.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark macaol Okay, good morning Mara Mark. I'm
- 18:24Speaker 3: gonna say this every time I get on the phone.
- 18:27Speaker 3: This so called unaffordability crisis is caused mainly by blue
- 18:32Speaker 3: state mayors and blue state governors. The previous call of
- 18:36Speaker 3: the young lady from Vero Beach, she got her Catholic
- 18:40Speaker 3: holidays mixed up. The Feast of the Assumption is August fifteenth,
- 18:45Speaker 3: and the other day was the feast of the Immacula Conception.
- 18:49Speaker 3: That's December eighth, and in fact, in Italian we call
- 18:53Speaker 3: it la CONCHICIONI Okay. That being said, what's the next
- 18:57Speaker 3: thing these crazy democrats are going to do? When you
- 19:00Speaker 3: go to the dealership, they're gonna and you go to
- 19:03Speaker 3: buy an Audi, a Porsche or a BMW. Where are
- 19:07Speaker 3: they going to pass the lord to city council and says, hey, uh,
- 19:11Speaker 3: that person over there only could afford a Volkswagen Golf.
- 19:15Speaker 3: So we're gonna put a twenty five percent tax on
- 19:18Speaker 3: the on the sticker price of your your Porsche or
- 19:22Speaker 3: your Audi. So we're gonna put this money in a
- 19:24Speaker 3: pool so those people could buy better cars. And you
- 19:28Speaker 3: you're buying a filet mignon in the supermarket. No, while
- 19:32Speaker 3: your neighbors buying hot dogs and chop meat. You're gonna
- 19:36Speaker 3: have to pay a twenty five percent tax on it.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Where does this nonsense end? You live where you could afford,
- 19:44Speaker 3: You eat what you could afford, and if you can't
- 19:47Speaker 3: live in New York City, get that hell out. My
- 19:50Speaker 3: girlfriend had a secretary of years ago that when this
- 19:54Speaker 3: woman got divorced from her husband, she had two kids,
- 19:57Speaker 3: she figured out between the alimony and the salary she
- 20:02Speaker 3: was making, she could no longer live in New York City.
- 20:05Speaker 3: She went someplace in Pennsylvania and is living a very
- 20:10Speaker 3: very good life normal.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Hey, a lot of people in New York City could
- 20:13Speaker 2: not afford to live in Monte Carlo.
- 20:15Speaker 3: I just, oh, well, you can't. A lot of people
- 20:17Speaker 3: can't afford to live on Park Avenue, A some place,
- 20:20Speaker 3: so they go live someplace else. This is a bunch
- 20:24Speaker 3: of leftist democrat bs, that's all.
- 20:28Speaker 2: It's a good point, Vincent, excellent call, Thanks for calling.
- 20:31Speaker 2: You know, we'll talk to and Culter next up bout
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'll ask her about this. This is a good topic.
- 20:36Speaker 2: We'll get to an Culter next on seven to ten.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Wo R It's more on Mark the Mark Simon Show
- 20:43Speaker 2: on WR Well and Culter the best selling author. You know,
- 20:48Speaker 2: she's got a lot of best selling books. You know,
- 20:50Speaker 2: a book is a great Christmas presence. You might you're
- 20:53Speaker 2: looking for Christmas presents. Get one of her books for somebody. Also,
- 20:56Speaker 2: of course, follow her on Twitter and substack. Even better,
- 20:59Speaker 2: she got interviews and videos and podcasts, all sorts of
- 21:02Speaker 2: stuff on substack. You go to and Culter dot substack
- 21:07Speaker 2: dot com and culture.
- 21:09Speaker 1: How you doing fantastic? How are you Mark Simone?
- 21:12Speaker 2: Well, I'm good, I'm good. I love the Christmas season.
- 21:16Speaker 2: It seems to make the left wing cooks even more miserable.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I enjoy that.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I love it too. You remind me we have to
- 21:25Speaker 1: go see the tree in Rockefeller Center.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna walk by it every I walked by.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I'll will walk by it later today. So, uh, this
- 21:34Speaker 2: whole thing about affordable housing, you know when they said
- 21:37Speaker 2: we don't have affordable housing, Well, you're really not gonna
- 21:39Speaker 2: ever have any on Park Avenue, and there's certain areas
- 21:42Speaker 2: that are gonna be expensive and other areas that, well,
- 21:45Speaker 2: where did this thing come? Everywhere in the world has
- 21:48Speaker 2: to be affordable.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Well, rents are very high in New York. I'm glad
- 21:55Speaker 1: you mentioned affordability. What what causes rents and purchase prices
- 22:01Speaker 1: to be so high in New York? As as anyone
- 22:05Speaker 1: in econ one oh one class will take impacts, you
- 22:07Speaker 1: don't even have to take econ one oh one on
- 22:09Speaker 1: my financial illiterate reduce the supply of something. Prices go up.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Rent control every place in the universe, it's ever been tried.
- 22:18Speaker 1: They could try it on Mars. Suddenly you'll have massively
- 22:21Speaker 1: unaffordable housing. And oh my gosh, we need the government
- 22:24Speaker 1: to build affordable housing. Just just let the market cut loose.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Developers build more stuff that I obviously want to build
- 22:33Speaker 1: a quote affordable, that is to say, less expensive housing.
- 22:37Speaker 1: You know, Sam Walton has done pretty well by providing
- 22:41Speaker 1: affordable products to people. It's not like in the market
- 22:45Speaker 1: people are only going to build fabulous places on Fifth Avenue. No,
- 22:49Speaker 1: quite to the contrary, But they don't build those now
- 22:52Speaker 1: because they'll be subject to rent control. And as you
- 22:55Speaker 1: and probably your listeners. So a lot of landlorders in
- 22:58Speaker 1: New York have been forced to just walk away from
- 23:00Speaker 1: apartments because their fees, their taxes, their costs of repairs
- 23:06Speaker 1: are higher than what they're being paid in rent. So
- 23:10Speaker 1: what are they supposed to do, you know, carry these
- 23:12Speaker 1: people for the rest of their lives. No, you just
- 23:15Speaker 1: need the market. And of course one other issue, there's
- 23:18Speaker 1: no there's no problem under the sun that has not
- 23:21Speaker 1: helped by mass deportation of illegals.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Well, you know, I believe it or not. In the Hamptons,
- 23:26Speaker 2: in East Hampton, there was a movement because in Eastthampton
- 23:29Speaker 2: they didn't have low income housing, affordable movement to get
- 23:32Speaker 2: some and the whole town rose up and said, it's
- 23:34Speaker 2: the hamp that's not supposed to be any affordable housing
- 23:37Speaker 2: that's in the next time.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Very funny. Yeah, no, the affordable housing has to go
- 23:44Speaker 1: in the poor, middle class neighborhood. Let's screw those people.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but all your life, you know, your parents are driving.
- 23:49Speaker 2: You see, you're in the car, you're driving, Oh look
- 23:51Speaker 2: at these mansions, What a beautiful And then you keep
- 23:53Speaker 2: driving and driving. Next thing you know, you're in a
- 23:54Speaker 2: really bad neighborhood. That's that's always been that way. You
- 23:58Speaker 2: can't equalize everything.
- 24:01Speaker 1: No, that's a really good point. Actually, one of the
- 24:03Speaker 1: one of the wonderful things Trump did. What was the
- 24:07Speaker 1: name of it. There was this insane program under Obama
- 24:12Speaker 1: and Biden. Oh, it's on the tip of my tongue.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I can't think of it. But anyway, it was basically
- 24:20Speaker 1: doing exactly the madness you're describing. If someone couldn't afford
- 24:24Speaker 1: a family, couldn't afford to live, you know, in a
- 24:27Speaker 1: more expensive neighborhood fringe Connecticut or like you say, the
- 24:31Speaker 1: Hamptons Park Avenue. Uh, under law, we had to subsidize
- 24:36Speaker 1: them to allow them to live in homes where they
- 24:41Speaker 1: couldn't afford the neighborhood, which is crazy. That's you can
- 24:47Speaker 1: they can find housing. They can find plenty of housing.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Housing in the neighborhoods they can they can afford. It's
- 24:54Speaker 1: just like you know, affirmative action at colleges. No, you
- 24:56Speaker 1: can get into a college. Uh, and to have roughly
- 24:59Speaker 1: this SATs is everyone you're competing against. But no, we're
- 25:03Speaker 1: going to elevate you to a college that's going to
- 25:05Speaker 1: make you feel stupid. For the rest of your life.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but these crazy left wing Democrats, you know, the
- 25:13Speaker 2: double standards is unbelievable. Remember they dropped those illegals in
- 25:17Speaker 2: Nantucket Martha's Vineyards.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Thinking about that.
- 25:22Speaker 2: They got rounded up and taken out of there so
- 25:25Speaker 2: fast that I didn't see any due process there. Did you?
- 25:28Speaker 2: Did you see any hearings before they got carried out
- 25:30Speaker 2: of there?
- 25:31Speaker 6: No?
- 25:32Speaker 1: I was thinking about it because, and by the way,
- 25:35Speaker 1: I salute you, I have been so trying to ignore this.
- 25:39Speaker 1: You know, the Venezuela and Narco traffickers, whom Democrats are
- 25:43Speaker 1: wildly in favor of. It's the new pet seal on
- 25:46Speaker 1: the left. But I was thinking access should round them
- 25:49Speaker 1: all up and send them to Martha's vineyards.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that would you know?
- 25:55Speaker 1: You're right?
- 25:55Speaker 2: Actually, in that little harbor, I'd love to see those
- 25:57Speaker 2: Narco speedboats coming in at one hundred and eighty mile
- 26:00Speaker 2: an hour.
- 26:01Speaker 1: It's right, just move them in both build be affordable
- 26:04Speaker 1: housing up there, then put the Narco terrorists there.
- 26:08Speaker 2: All right, But how if you're NBC News, if you're
- 26:11Speaker 2: the New York Times, and the boat clearly has four
- 26:13Speaker 2: outboard super high speed outboard motors that costs almost two
- 26:17Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars and it's going one hundred and eighty
- 26:20Speaker 2: miles an hour through the water in the middle of
- 26:21Speaker 2: the night. How could you claim that's a fishing boat.
- 26:30Speaker 1: How could they claim that Tucky Williams was, you know,
- 26:33Speaker 1: a hard working student. Frame for killing a cop or
- 26:37Speaker 1: Mumia Abu Jamal. This is their nature. You find a
- 26:42Speaker 1: predator on society and oh my gosh, we must start
- 26:46Speaker 1: a fundraiser for that person. I think they've moved on
- 26:48Speaker 1: from the fishermen. Now, well, this is what I'm writing
- 26:52Speaker 1: about this week. They have a scrolling series of preposterous
- 26:57Speaker 1: arguments in defense of narco terrorists, whom I'll give you
- 27:00Speaker 1: one one little high light. Last year was the last
- 27:05Speaker 1: year we have we have figures for cocaine, which is
- 27:09Speaker 1: absolutely one hundred percent being shipped. It goes from from
- 27:13Speaker 1: Colombia to Venezuela. Venezuela sends it to Mexico and then
- 27:16Speaker 1: it comes Mexicans truck it up to the United States.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Back before the media felt like it had to lie
- 27:22Speaker 1: about this, this was written about about once a year
- 27:25Speaker 1: in the New York Times. This will all be covered
- 27:27Speaker 1: in the column going up later today. But in any event,
- 27:30Speaker 1: twenty twenty three, thirty thousand Americans died of overdoses from cocaine.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Nine to eleven, three thousand Americans died, and we went
- 27:40Speaker 1: to war in two countries for twenty years. But thirty
- 27:44Speaker 1: thousand Americans, Oh, no, we can't do anything in our hemisphere.
- 27:48Speaker 1: You have to go seven thousand miles away. Then we
- 27:50Speaker 1: don't mind for killing innocence.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Well, you know, for years they tried to think of
- 27:55Speaker 2: what to do about these cartel smuggling drugs, and we
- 27:58Speaker 2: maybe set up a commission to talk to Mexico. And
- 28:00Speaker 2: then I like the Trump approach to watch a bomb
- 28:03Speaker 2: just hit the boat.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And I mean, besides the joy of blowing up drug dealers,
- 28:10Speaker 1: you're absolutely right through through Republican administrations, Democratic administrations. US
- 28:16Speaker 1: attorneys keep indicting. I mean, all of all of Venezuela.
- 28:19Speaker 1: The only the only product they have is drugs, shipping drugs.
- 28:24Speaker 1: They're sitting on the largest reserve of oil in the world.
- 28:26Speaker 1: They can't get it out of the ground. Socialism works great.
- 28:29Speaker 1: So the entire country right up to about the government,
- 28:32Speaker 1: the military, law enforcement. It is a drug cartel. This
- 28:36Speaker 1: is a country that is a drug cartel. So Obama Trump,
- 28:40Speaker 1: they've all indicted Maduro, the head of intelligence. The indictment
- 28:45Speaker 1: they indict them, they accuse them of shipping cocaine to
- 28:48Speaker 1: the United States. Yes, your precious little Obama did this
- 28:51Speaker 1: New York Times. And then you know, maybe we'll get
- 28:55Speaker 1: an extradition. A couple of them have finally been caught
- 28:57Speaker 1: and gone to prison, and then some other somebody else
- 29:00Speaker 1: becomes the head of intelligence in Venezuela. Indicting people in
- 29:04Speaker 1: Abstentia is not working. What Trump is doing is working.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Therefore liberals are going nuts.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Yeah, so hey, also a Democrats, boy, they love tariff's Democrats.
- 29:16Speaker 2: You know, they call it a corporate tax, but it's
- 29:19Speaker 2: a tariff. The tariffing business is left and right, which
- 29:21Speaker 2: I think time you put a tax on the corporation
- 29:23Speaker 2: that raises the prices.
- 29:24Speaker 1: So uh, that's a good point. No, I don't mind that.
- 29:28Speaker 2: You're right. So hey, we just about at a time
- 29:31Speaker 2: if somebody wanted to give a Christmas present, what book
- 29:33Speaker 2: of Years would you recommend?
- 29:35Speaker 1: Because that's a good Oh that's a good question. Book,
- 29:37Speaker 1: great Christmas all my children. You know. The last book
- 29:42Speaker 1: Resistance is futile.
- 29:43Speaker 3: It is.
- 29:45Speaker 1: It is exactly what's happening right now. Liberals just have
- 29:49Speaker 1: lost their minds with with Trump. The point of the
- 29:51Speaker 1: book is because because they hate Trump so much, they
- 29:54Speaker 1: can't make they can't make serious, solid arguments, and they
- 29:58Speaker 1: just keep helping him with their with their lunatic hysterion.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I go through several examples of that. So that's a
- 30:04Speaker 1: great one and Trump we trust also great now that
- 30:07Speaker 1: he's being the man I wrote the book.
- 30:09Speaker 2: About which okay, goot drive your approve.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Adios America of course, which which set off the phenomenon
- 30:17Speaker 1: that is the Trump.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so we recommend this for a lot of authors.
- 30:23Speaker 2: You could go to a store a lot of stories
- 30:25Speaker 2: look for to get people books. It's a great gift.
- 30:27Speaker 2: It's nobody can complain. It's a it's a very important thing.
- 30:32Speaker 2: A books. So uh, go to and culture on Amazon
- 30:36Speaker 2: you can get a book as a gift. And of
- 30:38Speaker 2: course follower on Twitter and substack. It's a culter dot
- 30:43Speaker 2: substack dot com and culter thanks for being with us.
