- 0:41of any entities they represent. Welcome to man talk 133, another
- 0:48powerful episode man talk 130 were men man talk 133 were men.
- 0:56Tonight I need to slow down y'all working right into the
- 0:59show. Y'all make sure y'all check out
- 1:01all our check out all of my platforms, Instagram, man talk
- 1:06133 Facebook us talking Spotify, that's man talk 133 iheart
- 1:20Pandora, man talk 133 so just check out all of the platforms
- 1:25you know so tonight, so let me start out like this.
- 1:28So I went on a show last night. Shout out to the eagle's nest,
- 1:35shout out to brother Satan, apostle Satan and apostle Ty for
- 1:42having me on. I appreciate that.
- 1:43Thank y'all for having me on the show.
- 1:45So I went on this show last night and I, you know, got a
- 1:51different perspective of Man Talk 133 and how it is growing
- 1:57in, you know, growing in the, in the social media space and also
- 2:02growing in just the, the man space, right?
- 2:07So many, so, so many people. Now I'm paying attention to Man
- 2:10Talk 133. So I want to come on tonight to
- 2:13talk about men in ministry, You know, so tonight ain't about it.
- 2:21It's not about putting women down.
- 2:23It's about us calling men up into their, to their place,
- 2:28rightful place where they should be, right.
- 2:31So the Kingdom God has never ever stopped needing men ever.
- 2:37It it always has needed men, Kingdom men like fathers,
- 2:40husbands, teachers, servants, protectors, prayer warriors.
- 2:45And yes, men can be prayer warriors, you know, intercessory
- 2:50prayers and not prayer, prayers, pray prayers.
- 2:55Y'all give them. They're like, gosh, I can't get
- 2:57it out. Y'all listen, y'all don't say
- 3:02inter accessory prayer warriors. There you go.
- 3:07So but the day the church has become filled with women
- 3:11faithfully carrying the responsibilities that men are
- 3:16supposed to carry, right? So this is this tonight again,
- 3:21it's we're going to talk about men in ministry, the crisis
- 3:25nobody wants to talk about. So tonight I'm asking, we are
- 3:30the men and even more importantly, how do we get them
- 3:35back? So tonight is not about guilt,
- 3:39but it's about purpose. So you know, the scriptures say
- 3:42in Genesis 215, the Lord God tucked man and put him in the
- 3:47garden, eating, eating to work and keep it.
- 3:51Notice this before Eve, before children, before ministry, God
- 3:57gave Adam an assignment. Purpose always comes before
- 4:03position. Ephesians 610 through 18.
- 4:09I mean, you got to go read all that and, you know, write all
- 4:11that down. But it's talking about the armor
- 4:13of God, the armor of God. So Paul in this particular
- 4:22Scripture wasn't talking and he wasn't writing about passive
- 4:26men. He was talking about, he
- 4:27describes soldiers, Kingdom men, fight spiritually.
- 4:32You know, don't put in the whole, Oh my God, helpless
- 4:34salvation, brush plate and righteousness.
- 4:36Have your feet show out with the preparation of gossip, peace,
- 4:39all of that. You know, he was talking about
- 4:42men, Kingdom men, fighting spiritually, right?
- 4:46Stick with me. I'm going somewhere.
- 4:48I promise you I am 1st Corinthians 6 and 13.
- 4:52Watch ye stand fast in the faith.
- 4:55Quit, quit. You like men.
- 4:59Be strong, right? Modern translation.
- 5:03Be watchful, stand firm, act like men, be strong, right?
- 5:08So, so tonight, like I said, it's not about bashing men.
- 5:13I promise, promise you it's not. It's about trying to get men in
- 5:16the position where they could be king of men.
- 5:20That's why we're talking about men and ministry tonight.
- 5:22So this is God's original design for men.
- 5:27God created man not simply to just exist, but to represent
- 5:34him. Now He gave men 5 assignments. 5
- 5:40assignments is what God gave men.
- 5:42The first one was a provider, not just merely money, not going
- 5:47out, making as much money as you can make.
- 5:49Nothing wrong with that, but that's not what he's talking
- 5:52about. But to provide peace, security,
- 5:55leadership and prayer. These are the things men are
- 5:59supposed to be doing in their homes outside of going out.
- 6:02Well, you know, I, I go out and I work and I, you know, and I
- 6:05pay all these bills around here. Great.
- 6:09But do you provide security to provide leadership?
- 6:15Do you pray? These are some of the things you
- 6:18know, Do you provide peace or you are just a troublemaker?
- 6:22As soon as you walk everybody in the house, warm up.
- 6:27There he go, old house. I know he is, You know what I
- 6:34mean? So do you provide all of these?
- 6:38You know the next one is protector.
- 6:43See, Adam fell because he stayed silent.
- 6:46The serpent spoke. Adam watched.
- 6:50Sometimes silence is sin. If you're quiet, you are
- 6:55complacent. You're agreeing with what
- 6:57someone is doing. See, he didn't do anything at
- 7:02all. He watched as the serpent came
- 7:06in and did what he wanted to do right with Eve.
- 7:11Priest the first, you are the first pastor in every home.
- 7:19You, the father should be the priest, the pastor of your home,
- 7:25not the TV, not social media. So you got to set that tone of
- 7:32how you're going to be as the priest of your home, how you
- 7:35going to lead your home, how you going to God.
- 7:39You know how you're going to put restraints on social media for
- 7:41your kids? You know how much TV they watch
- 7:44or even how much TV you watch. You could be sitting there
- 7:48binging on TVI don't know. And and they trying to look for
- 7:52you for leadership. And hey, if they see you over
- 7:54there chilling with your feet up, guess what they going to do?
- 7:57Share what they feet up. So you got to be the you got to
- 8:00be the priest of your home, set the tone with prayer and and all
- 8:04these different things going to church, you know, making sure
- 8:08that you are representing God the right way, right prophet,
- 8:14speaking God's truth over your family, not being a fortune
- 8:19teller and getting any little crystal balls and doing all this
- 8:22stuff like that. And just with the crystal balls.
- 8:23I shook it up and the little thing flowed up to the top and
- 8:26it said this. Nope, not at all.
- 8:32Speaking life like over your kids.
- 8:35You are successful, you are powerful.
- 8:37You are God's man or woman. You are, you know, going to be
- 8:43you're destined to be great even speaking over your wife like
- 8:46hey, you know what, listen, you are destined to do great things.
- 8:52You will do great things. Speaking these things over your
- 8:57wife and kids makes a big difference because if you don't
- 9:01do that, how they going to know what they are If they not
- 9:04hearing from you and then they may not hear from church and may
- 9:09not hear from the people you know that they surround
- 9:13themselves around. Good because they may not be
- 9:16Christian people all the way in. Christian people get what I'm
- 9:21saying and maybe Christian and maybe like 1 footy and 1 foot
- 9:24out and maybe Luke Wong is what I'm saying.
- 9:28So you got to make sure you do that too.
- 9:30A servant leader. Jesus washed feet of his
- 9:34disciples. So to the men, leadership isn't
- 9:39about power, it's about responsibility.
- 9:43How responsible are you? Are you responsible for your
- 9:47kids well-being? Are you responsible for their
- 9:51growth? Are you responsible for you know
- 9:54how they do in school, how they do on their jobs or or you
- 9:59condone them going to to their job, fussing out the boss,
- 10:03fussing out the customers, but some folk out throwing drinks at
- 10:07people and then having their friends recorded and think it's
- 10:10the funniest thing in the world. So what are you your servant
- 10:15leader or what? I mean they just ain't about
- 10:20power. You know Jesus was the ultimate
- 10:24leader and he still washed the disciples feet.
- 10:28So keep that in mind man. It is not about leadership,
- 10:33isn't about power, it's about responsibility.
- 10:37So when your family thinks of leadership, what do they think
- 10:40of you? This is a question.
- 10:45When your family thinks of leadership, do they think of
- 10:49you? I make sure I said that right.
- 10:51When your family thinks of leadership, do they think of you
- 10:54or do they think of you know they pastor or do they think of
- 10:58a granddaddy or do they think of you know, Popeyes or leader or
- 11:03they think of their uncle, you know, Uncle Michael, Uncle Leroy
- 11:09or Uncle June. But whatever y'all call them,
- 11:11right? Do they think of them or do they
- 11:13think of you when they when your family thinks of leadership?
- 11:20Because if they don't think of you when leadership pops up,
- 11:24then hey, you, some of you doing that's off that you need to fix
- 11:30immediately because they should be thinking of you 100%.
- 11:37Now, these are interesting statistics.
- 11:39About 60 to 65% of regular church attendees in the US are
- 11:44women. Now I gave a statistic last
- 11:48night on the show The Eagle's Nest.
- 11:51I said that I I felt like, is that the ratio in church and is
- 11:55like 8020 like you got 8080% women and 20% men in the church.
- 12:02That's what I personally feel like it is based on what I've
- 12:05seen. Right.
- 12:09So about 60 to 65% of regular church attendees in the US are
- 12:13women, while men are significantly underrepresented
- 12:18in many congregations. Studies also also consistently
- 12:25find that when fathers actively practice their faith, their
- 12:29children are much their children are much more likely to remain
- 12:33active in church into adulthood. Example you got to be the
- 12:40example y'all, you cannot fathers, listen dads, you got to
- 12:45be the example you got to be. If you are not the example, then
- 12:51they getting that from somewhere else and when they get it from
- 12:55the wrong people, we all know what could happen.
- 12:58Now I know we always say they can end up in games, but they
- 13:02ain't got to really end up in games.
- 13:03They can end up, you know, in some activity they don't need to
- 13:09be in, you know, like, you know, like a psychic readings and all
- 13:17those other kinds of the crystals and all this other
- 13:19stuff that they got going on right now.
- 13:21If you are missing or you're not representing in church, this
- 13:27could happen. Why are men missing?
- 13:30Why are we did we going to get in this before the break?
- 13:32Why are men missing? So men are missing because I'm
- 13:41trying to find something like hey, sorry y'all just bear with
- 13:45me. Why men missing?
- 13:47This is the one of the biggest, this is one of the biggest
- 13:50questions church's face today. Reason #1 no spiritual fathers
- 13:58to all, to all the leaders out there, all the pastors and you
- 14:01know, prophets and all of that stuff like that, right?
- 14:06Know that you matter as a spiritual father no matter what
- 14:09people say, no matter what people think and no matter what
- 14:12they say. He'll money pastor, He, you
- 14:15know, he this and he that. You mean something.
- 14:20If there are no spiritual fathers, guess what?
- 14:25Men are going to be missing 100%.
- 14:29Many men never saw biblical masculinity, yo.
- 14:37They always saw a woman as their leader, as their pastor.
- 14:42They never saw a man as being their leader because the women
- 14:52always prayed. They always did.
- 14:54You know, they always showed up, men.
- 14:58Y'all got to show up. Hey, we'll be right back after
- 14:59the break y'all. Stats tell that each day 22
- 15:03veterans commit suicide due to PTSD.
- 15:06These stats shook us and urged us to do our part.
- 15:10After hours and hours of thinking, beekeeping for
- 15:13veterans was born. Beekeeping for veterans combines
- 15:17beekeeping with mindfulness meditation.
- 15:20Why combine them? Here's why.
- 15:22Beekeeping causes positive rush of adrenaline while beekeeping
- 15:27you have to be calm during it you are mindful of your
- 15:30movements. Each week a veteran will receive
- 15:33a mindful meditation to build emotional and mental skill sets.
- 15:37Mindfulness is a set of three attentional skills that work
- 15:41together concentration, sensory clarity and equanimity, mental
- 15:46calmness, composure, evenness of temper every time mindfulness is
- 15:50practiced, we build these skills.
- 15:53Beekeeping for veterans not only helps veterans overcome
- 15:57emotional trauma but also aids our environment as without bees
- 16:01there is no food. Come forward.

- 17:33where me and you name we hear A Baker, the Q Baker conversation
- 17:38you all see. So I, I kind of, I kind of
- 17:44answer this question a little bit and I know you kind of feel
- 17:47the same way. You think gambling has changed
- 17:49the way fans use, you know, sports and stuff like that?
- 17:55Oh yeah, for sure, yeah. If it's rigged up, it doesn't
- 18:00seem like sincere or real or genuine, you know?
- 18:05Yeah. And what about the officials?
- 18:06I know you, I know, you know, you seen some questionable calls
- 18:10from these officials that kind of make you be like, what you
- 18:13going to do that right now? Right now.
- 18:16Right now. And that happened with Wimby.
- 18:21It it also happened with shade. You know, I know, I know a lot
- 18:24of people like to get on shade for flopping or whatever.
- 18:28Yeah, but Wimby does the same thing and he gets those calls
- 18:33so. But I don't think that Wimby
- 18:36gets half the scrutiny that Shay does.
- 18:38For some reason. They love to pick on Shay, man,
- 18:40but it's man, it's all the same. They're doing the same thing.
- 18:45Yeah, You think about this, man. How many teams do you think
- 18:48really benefit from going deep in the playoffs from people
- 18:52cheating? Like for me, I think if they
- 18:55really want a certain team to get that, I felt like to me this
- 18:59was the next year they had it set for them to win it.
- 19:03Just based on the games that I've seen.
- 19:05I'm just like, bro, they don't as you.
- 19:08I like basketball, you play basketball, I play basketball
- 19:11and as competitors and we're not even pro as competitors.
- 19:17You see a deficit that big, like they made a historic comeback 29
- 19:22points right to win by one. As for me as a professional
- 19:28player, it like to me you lay down or you got paid to lay
- 19:31down. Yeah.
- 19:33Yeah, it don't even feel right, you know what I'm saying?
- 19:35To nobody that I talked to when. Wendy came down one play.
- 19:41I don't know why it was at the end of the game.
- 19:43He's dribbling the ball about the cross, half court.
- 19:46Then all of a sudden I think it was Bronson that stole the ball.
- 19:51But either way, I'm like, why didn't you give it to the point
- 19:55guard? Why are you?
- 19:58How? Tall is mommy. 73 Trying to
- 20:03bring the ball down, brother, that's not your job.
- 20:06It was kind of like, man, I knew it was going to.
- 20:08Happen. I was like.
- 20:09What is he doing? Why is he dribbling that ball as
- 20:12soon as he did? And women can dribble, but but
- 20:16come on now at the end of the game.
- 20:19You got to give to the guard. You got to give the Aaron Fox,
- 20:22man, that Fox made that ball, you know?
- 20:23What I'm saying? Come on man.
- 20:26Got no funny they. Ripped the drawers off them on
- 20:29that. One that's great, you know, do
- 20:33you think like, you know how we watch like social media and
- 20:36stuff like that and you think like the clips that people play,
- 20:41like the conspiracy theory side? I don't think it do, but I just
- 20:45think that the the clips that they're showing is actually what
- 20:48it is. You got caught cheating.
- 20:50That's all it is. Yeah.
- 20:53No, I agree with that. I agree with that.
- 20:55Now some people, some people think that hey, you know, you
- 20:59know these clips, why they showing them?
- 21:01They show you the game from a flawed perspective.
- 21:04They y'all cheated. The refs cheated.
- 21:08I've seen a bunch of plays with OKC.
- 21:10The man foot was out of bounds. And they completely missed it.
- 21:16And they they looked all the way.
- 21:18They looked all the way just get y'all just going to just let
- 21:21them keep playing like what we saw that we watching the game
- 21:24too. We watching the game too.
- 21:27So so you know, some people's overall take that they can have
- 21:31the overall take that they want, but some people's overall take
- 21:34is like it's just they're human. They and you know, they're not
- 21:38perfect. I get all that.
- 21:42But when I blatantly see stuff like for example, you remember,
- 21:47what's the guy's name? Draymond Green?
- 21:48They took Draymond Green out against LeBron in them.
- 21:52You talking about a 73 and 19. They down 3 to one.
- 21:54They come back and beat them. I was like, Yo, I'm a LeBron
- 21:59fan, right? But some stuff just don't look
- 22:03right that Nope. It's just be obvious.
- 22:07Stuff like, come on now. But you got those folks that are
- 22:10really that brainwashed to believe in everything that they
- 22:14see. Yeah.
- 22:16You know, yeah. So go ahead.
- 22:18I'm sorry. No, no.
- 22:21No, I was about to say they will argue, argue you down about how
- 22:25it is real and it can't be rigged and that I'm like, these
- 22:30are professional athletes, like you said before, they are paid
- 22:33to play. They paid to make these shots,
- 22:36to perfect their game, you know, every single day.
- 22:40Yeah, this ain't wrestling, bro. This ain't the WWE or whatever.
- 22:44This millions of dollars. Millions of dollars to put them
- 22:48on the basket. $100 million contracts and you mean to tell
- 22:51me y'all can't keep a 29 hold a 29 point lead for 1/4?
- 22:56That's what I told my cousin. I said that don't make no sense.
- 22:59I ain't nobody off that much now.
- 23:02Not at all. Let me.
- 23:04Put put me and you out there Shaw.
- 23:06Put us out there, bro. We we could have brought them
- 23:09back at least half about 15 down by 15 at that point.
- 23:15Come on now, we ain't no pros, but man, come on man, we going
- 23:19to make a shot of two or three. Come on now, this is the part of
- 23:23the show where the audience and us is where we start to split a
- 23:31little bit. MJ or LeBron?
- 23:37With the most controversial topic ever in sports, right?
- 23:42Even then, more than rig, even the sport being rigged, this is
- 23:45the most controversial right here.
- 23:49Yeah, my opinion, MJ is the coat.
- 23:55Yeah. As far as like personal
- 23:57accolades, I think LeBron is the GOAT for what he does for for
- 24:04the stats that he puts up in the numbers.
- 24:07But as as far as like just single player, I mean, even even
- 24:12championships with Michael Jordan, you know, like that
- 24:14Trump's him too. But he just had this killer
- 24:17instinct, this aura about him that was a little bit different.
- 24:20And and then the era that he played in too was a little more
- 24:23physical, you know? So yeah, he was standing all of
- 24:28that and still came out with all them rings, man.
- 24:31So I I respect LeBron, but I would have to put MJ as the
- 24:36code. So all right, if we if we look
- 24:39at it from that perspective, because I had I had a
- 24:42conversation with a guy, he's like, no man, you got to look at
- 24:45Jordan, look at the rings he got.
- 24:46I said, we're going to base it on rings.
- 24:49We got to look at Russell. You got to lay on Twitter, you
- 24:53know what I'm saying? So I said you can't look at it
- 24:55like that, which the MJ has a more killer instinct, period.
- 25:01That's right. Period.
- 25:03But Kobe has that too. Had that too.
- 25:06He had that. Yes, Sir.
- 25:08He just, he just, but because of Kobe, who he was and his and his
- 25:13attitude and how he played with teammates, he didn't get there.
- 25:17He didn't get the respect like LeBron and MJ because if you if
- 25:21you look at it, you can easily stick Kobe in there.
- 25:24Oh yeah, for sure. As a killer had a killer
- 25:27instinct, but the LeBron and the the LeBron you got one I I think
- 25:32you got one and one a that I got you know, one did it in his era
- 25:37his way another one doing his era this.
- 25:39Way you know. What I'm saying, so who you
- 25:41think had the great impact on basketball, LeBron or or MJ Aw?
- 25:46Man MJ, no question because he he he carried off of the court
- 25:50because of his shoes alone. The fashion part of it, like we
- 25:55still wear Jordans to this day. I'm not sure if we can say the
- 25:58same for LeBron shoes or his impact with with clothing.
- 26:03Like what would be wearing that 2030 years from now?
- 26:06I don't think so, but you never know.
- 26:10But MJ, you know, it's no Trump in that man to come out with
- 26:15shoe after shoe after shoe and for it to be no pretty much no
- 26:19fails, pretty much. When it comes to the.
- 26:22Stylistic part of it, yeah, No. But you know what, a lot of
- 26:26people forget this. A lot of people, they get on
- 26:29LeBron and they ride him, but they they don't, they forget
- 26:32that MJ didn't win nothing until he got his squad with him.
- 26:37He didn't win until he got Kerr and and Pippen and robbing and
- 26:42legs and them guys like that. So they was like, well, you
- 26:45know, LeBron, he couldn't win until he went to Miami with D
- 26:49Wade and then with. Same thing, yeah.
- 26:51Yeah, but but if you look at it, it's the same exact thing.
- 26:54The only thing LeBron did was like he went there.
- 26:58He had he had a he was a free agent.
- 27:01You go where he wanted to right now.
- 27:03I think M JS happened with just, you know, draft trade, whatever
- 27:08they did theirs. I don't know how they did it
- 27:10back then, but it's the same thing.
- 27:13Basically. He didn't win until he got his
- 27:15squad. LeBron ain't win till he got his
- 27:18squad. But Michael Jordan just has more
- 27:20of AI would say basketball presence.
- 27:25You know what I mean? Like when you think of
- 27:27basketball, he's you you think of MJ now LeBron, that's my dog.
- 27:32Like, you know, he, he because you know, he's, I mean, he's
- 27:356869 can run the floor from, you know, he, he, he's got the most
- 27:41points, most assists, most all the stuff he has.
- 27:44But when you just think of basketball itself, you got to,
- 27:48you got to think of, you got to think of MJ, bro.
- 27:51You got to and, and here's a let me just add to that, Charles.
- 27:56I think that at the end of the game, who you going to go to?
- 28:01If you need a killer, You need that one point, you need that
- 28:04one bucket. You know, who would you go to?
- 28:07Would you go to MJ or would you go to Jordan?
- 28:10And I think most people would say Jordan because he was a he
- 28:13was a killer. He was assassin.
- 28:15Same thing with Kobe. That's why I got Kobe in the
- 28:20background right now as my personal favorite.
- 28:24But like MJ, man, definitely the GOAT.
- 28:27He had the same killer instinct, man, that Kobe had.
- 28:32I think that's why they they actually ended up being real
- 28:34good friends, man. They they thought the same.
- 28:37And of course, Kobe tried to pattern himself after MJ, but
- 28:42that's another topic. Yeah, he didn't work too good.
- 28:45So we right up against the break man.
- 28:46So when we get back out of the break, I want you to think about
- 28:49this. Now you can either look at
- 28:51LeBron or MJ if you had to pick one player for game seven.

- 30:19Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we back at it.
- 30:22So before we went to the break, we was talking about purpose,
- 30:25right? So I kind of got well.
- 30:28Let me let me drop one more on you right cuz I was with you.
- 30:31Why? Why we don't share, right?
- 30:33Yeah, one of the things you go, yeah.
- 30:34Definitely one of the things I learned when I end up going to
- 30:37TV broadcasting. I went to radio broadcasting 1st
- 30:41and then with the TV broadcasting school.
- 30:43But in radio broadcasting, one of the things that they told us
- 30:46in the school is that you can take an interview of a person
- 30:49that you're interviewing and chop that interview up and make
- 30:52them sound like the worst person on the planet just by that's
- 30:55true. You're arranging those clips,
- 30:56right? Yep.
- 30:57So what they call that is slander.
- 30:59Wow. So I'm like, how can I tell you
- 31:05what I'm dealing with in my deepest, darkest secrets when
- 31:09I'm afraid that not you're going to judge me, but you might
- 31:12slander, you might slander my name.
- 31:13You might take what I tell you about my experience and go tell
- 31:16other people about it. Oh no, they're going to.
- 31:19Slander. They're going to do that for
- 31:23sure. So why would I want to again?
- 31:25So why would I even want to voice that?
- 31:27Why would that even come out of my mouth when I feel like that's
- 31:30going to be like the end of all? Yeah, yeah.
- 31:34But that could be that many of people need to hear your story.
- 31:41Yes, that's what we we know that, but no one makes no
- 31:45difference. Sometime we know a lot of stuff,
- 31:48but no one makes no difference. But if you know that hey I can
- 31:52share my story and I could help make one person.
- 31:56Yeah, yeah. My story's not for the whole
- 31:59world, but I had to go to God to find out.
- 32:01We know am I cool because I want to educate the whole world.
- 32:04You know no for on your story for the people who are put in
- 32:07your path. And you might be at a conference
- 32:09of 10,000 people and might one person might need to hear your
- 32:12message. You're.
- 32:13Going to go, are you going to go show up?
- 32:15What if it's only 5 people at that event?
- 32:17Are you going to go show up at that?
- 32:18Because there might be one out of five that needs to hear your
- 32:21talk. It's the same energy.
- 32:23So when I got that for myself, like I said, OK, God, I got it.
- 32:28It's now I got to do the work. Now you got to do the.
- 32:31Work be the work. I got to be the work.
- 32:33Yeah, and it's like you were saying, man, you know, like
- 32:36people are going to talk about you regardless, right?
- 32:40And like we was talking about if a man's been molested, he's not
- 32:44going to share that. He's going to hold that in.
- 32:48And I was watching the show and I forgot what it was, but the
- 32:51dude had this coach had molesting guys, right?
- 32:57He had videotapes of it and he found his tape.
- 33:02He fought, he fought and he fought.
- 33:05He did not want to watch it. He was just and, and by him
- 33:08thinking that he was expressing anger.
- 33:12All this anger was coming out. And then at the end, he ended up
- 33:15watching it and it did happen to him and he, he, he kind of dealt
- 33:20with it better. And I guess it's kind of what
- 33:22you're saying, like once you know what it is, you can
- 33:25identify it, then you can handle it better.
- 33:29See, I I didn't tell my mom what happened to me in that in that
- 33:32same conversation until I was 46 years old.
- 33:35OK. And, and, and I didn't, I had to
- 33:38go back and look at how did that affect me.
- 33:40Yeah, right. Because it did for sure.
- 33:43And it affected me in the military because I would wait, I
- 33:48I wouldn't take my shower until like one or 2:00 in the morning
- 33:50when there was nobody in the bathroom in the shower, bro.
- 33:53Why was that? Why?
- 33:55Was that because of what happened to me as a child?
- 33:58Oh, OK, I I see what you said. Well, that was that was how it
- 34:00affected me. Wow, wow, ain't that something,
- 34:04man? And I didn't tell my mom until I
- 34:06was in my 40s, bro, after I started this work of healing, it
- 34:10was it was right there packed away.
- 34:11Yeah, yeah. And I went to my mom and she was
- 34:13like, she wasn't surprised either.
- 34:15Wow, because it was like, you know, family members.
- 34:18She was like, oh, makes it, you know, I'm like what?
- 34:21But I'm a 46 at the time. You know, I'm 46 now that when
- 34:25I'm sharing this, what happened at six had happened at 5-6 years
- 34:28old. You know, it's years, 40 years
- 34:30ago. And that's so dangerous, right?
- 34:33Packing it in like that, that's a dangerous part about it
- 34:36because we think that it doesn't affect us and it really does in
- 34:42a way like now you, when you talked about that at an older
- 34:45age, how did it impact you? Like was it like a relief?
- 34:49Only only because I had dealt with the like.
- 34:52I had peeled layers off before I got to that one.
- 34:54Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I had.
- 34:55I had responsibility of my past, you know, own my own, my past,
- 35:00you know, own my decisions and, and the experiences.
- 35:03So I was able to as I was peeling those layers because
- 35:06that first layer that I had to get in that education was the
- 35:09suicide ideation. Like my life was over, man.
- 35:12When I took that class, it was over.
- 35:14I was ready. I had the plan, the willingness.
- 35:16I had everything. I had all of it ready to go.
- 35:19But I held on to my youngest daughter, Asia.
- 35:23I knew I had mental toughness and I knew I didn't want to do
- 35:26that, but it was that battle in my mind like.
- 35:29But no, it's hopeless. Why bother bro?
- 35:32Nobody cares. Nobody cares, right?
- 35:35That's what you think? That's what I think, but I had
- 35:37my daughter and I'm like, I can't do that to her.
- 35:39So I battled and that's what kept me, you know, from from
- 35:42doing that. Yeah.
- 35:43So, so you said it was 16 years. What year do you think 567 when
- 35:49you really it felt like you had it under control, like, you
- 35:53know, the suicidal thoughts in the you know what I mean?
- 35:56Like when? It oh, I was, I won't even say
- 36:00it's under control right now. OK, I will.
- 36:03I will say that at 40 years old, turning 40, there was this blink
- 36:11in my in my mind that said there's got to be something
- 36:13better than this. Yeah.
- 36:16And you know, biblically, 40 years, 40 years is a
- 36:19generational change. So I was into that 40 year old
- 36:23phase of life. And you know, like I said, those
- 36:26prayers got answered. I got in that education.
- 36:28So from 46, from 40. And I'm so I'm 56 now.
- 36:33So 16 years I've been in personal development, I've done
- 36:37cognitive behavior, I've done listening skills, I've done
- 36:41grief classes, I've done, I've been in the word six of those 16
- 36:46years, I've done recently grief support group.
- 36:51And so applying all that to my life in that conscious mind, the
- 36:57conscience mind is the middle mind, right Where our morals,
- 37:00right. So we get that's where the
- 37:01information, that's where the word of God is, is getting into.
- 37:04That's where when you take therapy, it's getting into that
- 37:07part of the mind of your right or wrongs, good or bads, all
- 37:09those opinions lives in that middle mind right there, right?
- 37:12So when you start to filter that out with more truths, with with
- 37:16your truth, not the stories of the truth.
- 37:19Right. It, it, it, it there's a shift
- 37:21that they call that where transformation lives.
- 37:24And so I applied all those things, man.
- 37:27And I've, I've had, I had a challenge.
- 37:28The 1st 40 years of my life is what I did.
- 37:31Wow. So I went back all the way from
- 37:3340 and and and my memory goes back to A2 year old decision
- 37:37that I made about my mom and my grandmother.
- 37:39Wow. And and inside of that 2 to 4012
- 37:43decisions total. Wow.
- 37:47And I've been putting off each one of them.
- 37:49That's why I said it ain't it ain't, it ain't, it ain't
- 37:51completely over. But I'm definitely on the I'm on
- 37:53the other side of it right now. Yeah, so people got to
- 37:55understand it's work. Oh, it's work.
- 37:58It's work. It's work and you got to pull
- 38:01off different layers like that. And it's, it's not easy layers.
- 38:05It's hard layers, you know what I mean?
- 38:08You got to get inside and pull out that all that old stuff.
- 38:12It's just like a, you know, taking, taking like a, you know,
- 38:14like a, a snake and you put it down into the plumbing.
- 38:20Yeah, exactly. That's kind of what it's like.
- 38:23And you got to keep doing it over and over and over.
- 38:26And and and and and. The biggest part of that was at
- 38:32that blink that I heard the willingness, see people not
- 38:35willing to do their work. It's conceptual.
- 38:38Oh, that sounds good for him. Oh, that sounds good for him.
- 38:41I can't do that. Are you willing though?
- 38:44You willing to do the work and just take?
- 38:46Because once you find that one, I found 12.
- 38:48But it was the first one that I found that opened up the door to
- 38:51look at the rest of my life. Because if I made that story of
- 38:54that, my life was over because my military career came to an
- 38:56end. Well, what else did I make up?
- 38:58Right. Then I was, I was willing to
- 39:01look. So I, I look all the way back
- 39:03down 40 and I found 2 year old, 5 year old, 6 year old, 8 year
- 39:08old, 11 year old, 14 year old, 17 year old, 23 year old, 36
- 39:13year old and 40 year old decision.
- 39:16Wow. And I had to go and take
- 39:17responsibility because I made when I made all that up, I made
- 39:21it up. It was not.
- 39:22It was my truth, but it wasn't the truth.
- 39:24Yeah. So as a male, when you go
- 39:26through those different layers like that, how does it affect
- 39:29relationships and you know, stuff like that, buddy, let me
- 39:34tell you. After I went back and I started
- 39:39to to to discover those relationships that I that I
- 39:44sabotaged. I called ex girlfriends.
- 39:48I got 2 failed marriages. So I called people in my life
- 39:52asking for forgiveness, man. Yeah.
- 39:54I took responsibility like that. That was me.
- 39:57Yeah, that was me. And so by by being able to be
- 40:01willing to do that and call people in my life for forgive,
- 40:04not apologizing, but forgiveness because I'm changing my
- 40:07behavior, right? So by asking for forgiveness
- 40:12again, yes, it's for them, but it's more it's for us first.
- 40:16Yeah, yeah. So that I took responsibility.
- 40:19And of course, I got mixed. I got mixed.
- 40:21What are you calling me for? Don't call me again.
- 40:24Yeah. I knew you was crazy.
- 40:25Like I got. I got all of that.
- 40:26I got all of it. I got all of it.
- 40:29Freedom. That's why forgiveness is so
- 40:32powerful, because there's freedom on the other side of it,
- 40:35man. Yeah.
- 40:36Yeah. Self forgiveness.
- 40:39Now that through in that process, I already know there
- 40:44was some distractions and it was some boy, it was the enemy.
- 40:48Was the Devils going at you with everything he had?
- 40:52Everything. And the, the, the, the, the, the
- 40:56fact that you're still here, it says that you were willing.
- 41:01You know what I mean? And you made the point that
- 41:03people got to be willing. You got to be willing to pull
- 41:06them layers off. You're not willing to pull those
- 41:08layers off. It's a wrap.
- 41:11It's a wrap, man. You hate to say it, you know?
- 41:13I know people say, well, you know, you, you know, you pray
- 41:15and you seek the Lord. Yeah, but you still got to do
- 41:18something. It's action.
- 41:20It's all action, action, action. Hope is an action.
- 41:24Prayer is an action. Faith is an action word.
- 41:26Those are action words. The Bible, the biblical
- 41:29principles, you have to. That's what I tell people, a
- 41:32hammer. You look at a hammer in the
- 41:34toolbox. We know the hammer is powerful
- 41:35because it's a hammer. You don't.
- 41:38You don't experience it until you actually pick it up and it's
- 41:40used by you. Yeah.
- 41:42The hammer has to be used by us to experience the power.
- 41:45That's. That's all therapy is.
- 41:48That's all the Bible principles are.
- 41:51That's all kinds of behavior. You got to take those
- 41:53curriculums of education and apply it to your life.
- 41:56It's not conceptual. When you apply it to your life,
- 42:00you're not going to be the same person.
- 42:01The more that you practice applying those principles and
- 42:03those tools, you're not going to be the same person.
- 42:06And some people, like you said, it's too hard.
- 42:08They'd rather stay in this stuck place brother, than just like,
- 42:12you know what I know I need help.
- 42:15I know some a little off with me and then it's just something
- 42:19that's just a little bit off. But you know, I'm good with
- 42:22that. That's just how God made me.
- 42:25They'll use that one in a heartbeat.
- 42:27But it's, that's not how he wants you to live in torture all
- 42:32the time. It's just, you know, it's just
- 42:33different, man. Some people, you look at it from
- 42:36a different perspective than what other people have looked at
- 42:39it. You know, I've been watching,
- 42:40you know, following and watching your shows and stuff like that.
- 42:42That's one of the reasons why I think the enemy was fighting so
- 42:46hard for us to get on here, because he already knew the
- 42:48power of agreement. In fact, it's going to, you
- 42:51know, people watching this show that can really, really get free
- 42:55from as, as men. As as men and women, we're not
- 42:59exempt. Minimum women aren't exempt.
- 43:00We suffer in silence. We suffer in silence.
- 43:03And what is that? Yeah, What is that?
- 43:06And then it's something and so you got to find somebody.
- 43:09You, you have confidence. I don't even like the word trust
- 43:12anymore because the word says trust in the Lord have
- 43:16confidence in man. So we don't I'm not supposed to
- 43:19put my trust in you. I don't trust myself 100%.
- 43:21So why would I trust you 100% when I don't trust myself,
- 43:24right? So you got to again the word
- 43:26says love God with your heart, soul, mind, body and love your
- 43:31neighbor with the same measure that you love yourself.
- 43:33So guess what? I just been measuring my own
- 43:35self first man. Yeah, that's all you got to do.
- 43:38When I measure me. OK, No, go ahead, go ahead.
- 43:40No, I'm just saying when I, when I measure myself, then I can see
- 43:43how much I could give away to you.
- 43:45I can't give, I can't give you 100% if I don't have like, I
- 43:47can't give that. So I got to measure myself
- 43:49first. Exactly.
- 43:51And we've finished this up right after the break all Yeah.

- 45:28Welcome back to Man Talk 133, where Men unite.
- 45:32Thank you all for joining the show tonight.
- 45:34Tonight we're talking about men in the ministry, the crisis
- 45:38nobody wants to talk about. I mean, I'm gazing stuff tonight
- 45:44for y'all today really, really, really, really think about you.
- 45:47Got to really think about what I gave you like King David before
- 45:51I went to break. We were talking about King
- 45:53David. He was a great king, yet his
- 45:57failures at home had lasting consequences.
- 46:00So leadership starts at the crib, y'all?
- 46:05It starts at home for show. Raising Kingdom men, older men,
- 46:12the dudes in the church, the elders, I mean the deacons, the
- 46:17ones that you know people, the ones that they overlook you you
- 46:20sit in the corner, you quiet and you know, one that comes to mind
- 46:25is Mr. Wilbert. Y'all don't know Mr. Wilbert,
- 46:28but Mr. Wilbert, you matter. You older man, you matter.
- 46:31I'm telling you older man in the church, you matter, right?
- 46:37So I'm just saying like just because you're older and we
- 46:42shifting into like a another generation of church, you still
- 46:47matter when therefore trick you and think you don't matter
- 46:51because you 100% do matter. That's a fact, right?
- 46:58So Titus, two older men should teach younger men, right?
- 47:05Go and read it. It talks about how they should
- 47:07how they supposed to teach. Basically you got to pass the
- 47:11knowledge down to the younger men because they don't know
- 47:15they, they, they don't have a clue what's going on.
- 47:17They think they know everything, but they really don't know
- 47:19nothing. Hate to say it like they don't
- 47:22know nothing. They don't.
- 47:24So mentorship. Paul had Timothy, Moses had
- 47:31Joshua, Elijah had Elijah, Jesus had 12.
- 47:36Who are you pouring into? So we got all this word in US
- 47:42men of God, we got all this word and all this prayer and all
- 47:45these ideas and all these great things we want to do for the
- 47:48Kingdom. But who are we pouring it into?
- 47:50Are we pouring it into the young people?
- 47:52Or what are we doing? Put it up on the shelf so-called
- 47:56for the right time. Who are we pouring into?
- 48:00This really matters. Women too.
- 48:04I know this man talking. I'm talking about men.
- 48:06Women. Y'all got all this word in
- 48:07y'all? Who y'all pouring into for real?
- 48:11Y'all got to like, we got to look at this man challenge men.
- 48:16We got to challenge men. Pastors, and I know a lot of
- 48:19y'all do. We got to challenge men.
- 48:22We got to stop entertaining men. They need to be challenged.
- 48:27We got to start equipping them to be able to pray at their
- 48:30house. We got to put them in
- 48:31uncomfortable positions where, hey, I need you to get up here
- 48:35and pray or either start them in, start them in like the men's
- 48:39fellowship, different things like that where they can pray in
- 48:43front of the men first and get comfortable with doing or, you
- 48:47know, Sunday schools, you know, stuff like that.
- 48:50You got to start equipping them. We got to stop entertaining.
- 48:54We got to stop doing all the Holland and all the yeah, all
- 48:58that. That's good, fine, they
- 49:00entertain, they jump up and they have a new we got to start in
- 49:04equipping them, but it be leaders of their homes for real.
- 49:09We got to stop doing that. Real growth, real growth happens
- 49:12through responsibility. If they're responsible, if you
- 49:16get a responsibility, they're going to be responsible and I
- 49:20believe in y'all. I know y'all can do it.
- 49:22You know what I'm saying? I know y'all can do it.
- 49:25You know get to give you a job for you to be responsible.
- 49:27You get up every morning and stay early in the morning and
- 49:32stay super late because you're responsible.
- 49:35You have a responsible, that's my job, that's my responsibility
- 49:37to get up early and stay there late because I can't leave my
- 49:41job like that. Guess what?
- 49:45You can't leave your family like that either.
- 49:48I'm just saying you can work. Let's see, 2030 hours of
- 49:53overtime a week. If you can't pray for like 2
- 49:55minutes over your wife and kids, we got to fix that y'all?
- 49:59That's something that structures off.
- 50:01We got to fix that right? What would happen if every
- 50:05Christian man disciple a younger man?
- 50:11Well we have like it would be so Joe the churches would be full.
- 50:20Because one thing I do know about young people, when you
- 50:23tell them something good, they're going to go and they're
- 50:28going to spread the word, say like, for example, Hey, man,
- 50:31especially if they play basketball, right?
- 50:33Hey, man, check this out, man. There's a court down there off
- 50:36so and so. No, you got we got to go up and
- 50:40play them boys. We have their ball.
- 50:42And I'm telling you every day they have their ball.
- 50:47So if we disciple them the right way and just into you know, in
- 50:51church and be like and they go to the church, we're like yo
- 50:54bro, you got to come check out this church.
- 50:56It's crazy. It's yo, you got to come check
- 51:01it out for real. It's no joke.
- 51:04Come check it out. These are 5 practical steps that
- 51:17can help right before I get out of here. 5 practical, 5
- 51:21practical steps. Number one, pray daily, pray
- 51:27daily, Pray daily is the first one.
- 51:31Even if the 5 minutes, I'm going to say hey, 2-3 minutes if you
- 51:37ain't used to doing it. I mean, hey, you can go for 5
- 51:42minutes, but I'm just saying just start with 2-3 minutes, you
- 51:46know #2 read scripture every day.
- 51:50Consistency beats intensity. So if you're consistent and you
- 51:56read and just say you want to read the Bible in like a year
- 52:01and you read you're, you're consistent about doing a certain
- 52:05amount every day, you're going to be good to go #3 find
- 52:10accountability. No man wins alone.
- 52:15You've got to have somebody that's going to be behind you,
- 52:18that's going to make sure if they see you getting off, they
- 52:22they'll nudge you back to the left.
- 52:24If you're getting off to the, you know, to the left and back
- 52:27to the right to keep you to keep you lined up.
- 52:31You know what I mean? You got to have find
- 52:33accountability in somebody, right?
- 52:37Hey, serve somewhere. If you come to the church every
- 52:40Sunday, you sitting at the back with your arms across the thing
- 52:43like this, you know, you just chilling, you know, got one kid
- 52:47on the disarm one on the other arm and your wife running around
- 52:51doing 3-4 different things and and you just sitting in the back
- 52:54chilling served somewhere in church.
- 52:57God developed service before leaders.
- 53:00You got to be able to serve me first before he well, I mean, I
- 53:04can be over. I can be charged with all that,
- 53:07but you ain't never served on it.
- 53:08So you don't know what to take. You don't know the pressure, you
- 53:10don't know the warfare that come with doing all that.
- 53:13So you can't sell what you can leave with this, this, this, and
- 53:17you ain't never done it. So best thing to do is serve
- 53:21first, then work your way into leadership #5 lead at home
- 53:28first. You talk about you can leave
- 53:30them in the church. You can do all this and that and
- 53:34you can't leave your living room.
- 53:37You're going to struggle handling a congregation if you
- 53:40can't handle your wife and your two or three kids or even 1 kid
- 53:45in the living room. Bro, listen, a congregation
- 53:52going to run through you or they're going to stiff arm you
- 53:55right on out the way. Like boy, get out of here
- 53:57straight up. You ain't stop playing with me.
- 54:00I don't want to hear nothing. You got to say, pastor, I'm just
- 54:05telling y'all how I going to go. So y'all got to learn before you
- 54:09can jump in the lead. You first you got to serve, then
- 54:12you got to lead at home. First you got to lead at home.
- 54:15Y'all for real? For real.
- 54:18Just the final challenge. Imagine every father praying
- 54:21over his children, every husband leading devotion, every young
- 54:26man mentoring another young man, every church full of spiritually
- 54:30mature men. Neighborhoods would change.
- 54:34Schools would change, families would change.
- 54:36Communities would change. Kingdom advances.
- 54:41When ordinary man faithfully answer God's call, just answer
- 54:46the call. Y'all stop playing Joshua 2415.
- 54:50As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
