- 0:00Melinda Lee: I'm trying to be different. I just was looking at
- 0:02like, what am I different about, you know, between the are
- 0:04Toastmasters? What is different?
- 0:07JEDIDIAH McCampbell: Well, no, it is it's very different.
- 0:09Because Toastmasters, it was so focused on the mechanics of
- 0:13speaking. Well.
- 0:16Melinda Lee: And what do you mean by that?
- 0:18Unknown: Well, it's like counting the counter the oz
- 0:22provided that kind of level of feedback. And you'd rather try
- 0:26to get into some of that deeper level, presence. But I think
- 0:33some of the focusing on the mechanics of it can can
- 0:37actually, you know, if you focus on the bad, you get more of it.
- 0:45It's like it almost it almost worsens the problem in some
- 0:49regards. Yeah. It makes you more aware of it. And then and then
- 0:53you get all subconscious and, and you start stumbling more.
- 0:57Yeah, versus focusing in on the heart, and the passion and just
- 1:02coming from that and being present in the moment with, with
- 1:05the environment with the people with who you are. And being okay
- 1:10with who you are. accepting who you are. brings so much freedom
- 1:16to the speaking that it just comes naturally.
- 1:19Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:22that's the difference. That's what I think. I love this
- 1:25process with you is accomplishing
- 1:28Melinda Lee: nothing. It's so funny, because I was debating
- 1:31yesterday, whether I wanted to start using AI, there's an AI
- 1:35tool out there called usually, who were you, I could put my
- 1:39clients in there, and they can start to see their speech, and
- 1:44then usually will count the followers and then the, then
- 1:49that what happens is, then it puts them back into a place of
- 1:53did I not do it? Right? When actually you did like, it's
- 1:58interesting, because when you put a height, yeah, you put a
- 2:01shine a light on it, then it brings it out more. So I've been
- 2:06thinking about? I don't know, it's an interesting tool,
- 2:10because, because but then maybe I use it at a certain time, I
- 2:14think when people are because like you said, when they're
- 2:18super connected to who they are, and their internal dial their
- 2:23internal strength or internal competence, all the eyes on the
- 2:27filler words just naturally go. So I want to bring them into
- 2:31that once they've already connected to it longer deeper
- 2:34for a while, and then they'll be
- 2:37Unknown: decks like Toastmasters is kind of like your first
- 2:40thing. First
- 2:41Melinda Lee: thing. Yeah, it
- 2:42Unknown: should be like the last thing. The last thing. Okay,
- 2:45perfect. Okay, proceed on the mechanics of the last thing.
- 2:48Well, yeah, it's kind of the last thing once you've become in
- 2:52tune with yourself. And can speak from that. Yeah, I think
- 2:57is more powerful. That's what I'm experiencing. And, you know,
- 3:03I wasn't sure what this was gonna be like, but this is
- 3:05definitely better.
- 3:10Melinda Lee: Oh, yeah. It's like, what is happening? What is
- 3:13what are we do you know, just kept with me? Of course, right?
- 3:15You go into any type of programme, you're not sure
- 3:18what's happening. But you went with your gut, you went with
- 3:20your intuition you trust, you know, we had a connection and
- 3:23our first call, and you're like, hey, let's just try this. And so
- 3:27that's courageousness for you. And I really appreciated that
- 3:30you took that step, right? Because not everybody will trust
- 3:33it. You know, they're, they're guarded, they've got a lot of,
- 3:36you know, difficult. They went in made difficult decisions and
- 3:40tough decisions that didn't go well, they thought it was gonna
- 3:42go well, and it didn't. And so I'm glad that you just took the
- 3:46leap of faith anyways. And so you're now able to experience
- 3:50what it feels like to get connected back to feeling what
- 3:53it feels like the flow to be in the moment and be with the
- 3:56audience speak from your heart. And, and then all of this
- 4:00inspiration started coming out. This is what I was here to do.
- 4:04Yeah, right. So true.
- 4:06Unknown: And it awakens inspiration that I've had since
- 4:10I was a teenager, speak and inspire audiences to greatness,
- 4:16and I love that. And so.
- 4:19Melinda Lee: Oh, my gosh, it was so fun to see you. So fun to see
- 4:24you. It was awesome. It was great. It was just yeah, you're
- 4:28in your moment you were in I would feel your words. I can
- 4:31feel your passion. Yeah, when you're speaking and that's what
- 4:34people that's why when you're counting the odds and the other
- 4:37the filler words. You're not feeling you don't feel it.
- 4:40You're just so focused on am I saying the right thing?
- 4:43Unknown: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And, and so I think I think there's a
- 4:50place for Toastmasters. I think there's a place for that. Yeah.
- 4:52Are the things like that? You know? But it comes after. After
- 4:59that. depths
- 5:00Melinda Lee: the depths when you can go deep inward first. Yeah.
- 5:05And connect to that part of us again, that needs to be
- 5:08reawakened
- 5:08Unknown: again. Yes. Yeah. This is really close to a lot of
- 5:16coaching level work that I've done. Yeah. It's in that realm
- 5:20that I think it's really powerful to coach through into
- 5:24the depth of, of who we are, and knowing who we are becoming
- 5:28comfortable with who we are loving who we are, and accepting
- 5:32that and then from that we can pour into others in such a
- 5:38deeper way. Right. And so that's more valuable. Right? And more
- 5:45impactful than the mechanics of speaking well,
- 5:48Melinda Lee: right. Right. When we can pour into others. That's
- 5:52when they feel that connection. Yeah, that's when you become a
- 5:55really great filler words.
- 5:57Unknown: Sure. But yeah, you could still have a great
- 5:59connection with filler words. Totally, totally 100% massive
- 6:04impact with some filler words with some filler words.
- 6:07Melinda Lee: Totally. 1,000% It's just about who you're being
- 6:12and that connection first. Right so. Oh, my gosh, that makes me
- 6:20so happy. I was really thinking about it a lot. You
