- 1:00You can't miss it. All right, shenanigans all
- 1:03the time, every day. Last time we was here, we
- 1:09talked about getting your attention back. All
- 1:13right, things and tips we can do to limit our
- 1:15screen time, to limit what we engage with. But
- 1:20that's easier said than done. How do you do that?
- 1:23What's that process and that path start like?
- 1:28It starts with emotional discipline. So that's
- 1:31the path we're going to take. That's what we're
- 1:32going to talk about. That's what's going to get
- 1:34your attention back. That's what's going to get
- 1:35your time back. All right. And stop messing around
- 1:39with non -productive time. Yes, it's time for
- 1:43shenanigans too. So what is emotional discipline?
- 1:50Emotional discipline. So being able to feel everything.
- 1:57but not reacting. Easier said than done, right?
- 2:02So, of course, people get triggered by different
- 2:06things, right? Whether it be at work, your relationship,
- 2:12at home, everyday life. There's plenty of things
- 2:16that can set you off and give you an emotional
- 2:19reaction, but is that reaction worth your time?
- 2:24Not everything is reactive. Last week I said
- 2:29it. Reacting to everything is a sign of weakness.
- 2:34Emotional discipline is a sign of strength. Some
- 2:39people look at reacting as suppressing feelings.
- 2:45Sorry, to not reacting as suppressing your feelings.
- 2:50When it's actually emotional discipline and strength
- 2:54and maturity. Emotional awareness, emotional
- 2:59intelligence. Not that they don't care. It's
- 3:04that they care more about the risk of the reaction
- 3:06than it is at the time. Remember last week I
- 3:13said sometimes it's better just to pause, walk
- 3:16away, take a deep breath. Something still you
- 3:21are surely got to get better at. It's control
- 3:25over response. There are ways to get your message
- 3:30across, right? Without being loud, without raising
- 3:36your voice, cursing, right? Knocking things over
- 3:41the desk. Your response is more important than
- 3:50your reaction to what's actually happening. Think
- 3:56about that. How many times have you had to go
- 4:00back and say, I was tripping? Not that you're
- 4:05not in the right feeling how you're feeling,
- 4:07but did your reaction call for that? Compared
- 4:12to times that something that you might have should
- 4:14have reacted to, you didn't. Yeah, we all got
- 4:18this saying that we done heard of and been told.
- 4:22Couldn't have been me. Are you better than me?
- 4:27somebody is acknowledging your emotional maturity
- 4:30right and emotional intelligence because what
- 4:34they're telling you is obviously they wouldn't
- 4:37react it or handled it that way so you did something
- 4:39right even if somebody don't even agree with
- 4:42it don't let anybody confuse that neither because
- 4:48you got to carry the weight of the reaction that
- 4:50you do right you can't you can't Be mad at how
- 4:58somebody respond to the energy that you give
- 5:01them. OK. There's no way. So. Think about what
- 5:11causes your reaction. What what triggers you?
- 5:16Right. Disrespect. Some people ways of disrespect
- 5:21or what they might take in disrespect might not
- 5:24trigger somebody else. Whether that be a joke,
- 5:27whether it be appropriate or not. Right. You
- 5:30can't tell me how to react to something. You
- 5:33can't tell me how to feel. Right. Disagreements.
- 5:40Some people don't like confrontation. So it's
- 5:43better probably to stay quiet than anything else.
- 5:50One thing is. Another favorite line of ours.
- 5:59I can show you better. I can tell you. How many
- 6:04times have you had to use that on somebody? How
- 6:09many times have you heard that used on somebody
- 6:12or somebody had to tell you? Because I'm not
- 6:14going to keep telling you nothing. Might say
- 6:18it once to give you the benefit of the doubt
- 6:20just because you may not know. So it's not fair
- 6:24to judge you on that. But once you do know and
- 6:26I have to say you again, yeah, that's a decision
- 6:29that's being made. So I said what I said. I can
- 6:40show you better. I can tell you. If you stay
- 6:42tuned, you're going to get both. If you stay
- 6:48tuned, you're going to get both. Because the
- 6:52most thing. That people don't realize is when
- 6:55they're walking right into the reaction window.
- 7:00The setup, the pitch, the wine. Right before
- 7:05you take a swing at it, you're walking right
- 7:07into the reaction window. They set your triggers
- 7:12off, right? Because one of the things that could
- 7:16trigger somebody just naturally, right? Maybe
- 7:19your tone of voice or. When you're speaking and
- 7:23feeling ignored, you can get triggered and get
- 7:26upset. It's okay to have those feelings. It's
- 7:30the reaction that we give is what's important.
- 7:37Don't miss that part. It's okay to have your
- 7:40feelings. How we express them is what's more
- 7:45important. Because do you think your point is
- 7:48going to get across when... You're volatile.
- 7:54Now, you might have tried a different approach
- 7:56and maybe that's what you felt like because you
- 7:58were frustrated, weren't being heard, right?
- 8:02Ignored. And this is natural feeling. We all
- 8:06have done it. No matter how big or small the
- 8:10situation was. Right? So think about it. There's
- 8:17a trigger and there's a reaction. There's only
- 8:20this much space in between those, and it's not
- 8:25that far apart, and it doesn't take long to get
- 8:26there. Zero to 100 real quick. Willis Bar, right?
- 8:35How many times have we went to zero to 100 real
- 8:37quick? Got cut off in the air, cut off when you're
- 8:42driving, right? People aren't reacting to their
- 8:51reality. They're reacting to their triggers.
- 8:58Because if we were reacting to our reality, would
- 9:02our response be what it was? That simple. That
- 9:08window was tight and small. How can you increase
- 9:13that window from the time something triggers
- 9:15you to the time you react? Let's find that out,
- 9:20right? If you skip the window and dive right
- 9:25in and react quickly, would you have the risk
- 9:30to lose? It's going to go deeper than just the
- 9:33confrontation, right? Because if you were to
- 9:38go straight into that window, take your time,
- 9:42don't be like Deebo and Smokey trying to run
- 9:44in and out to get that 200. Might need that lookout
- 9:46like Craig. Somebody to blow the whistle. Keep
- 9:50accountability partner too. That helps. Right.
- 9:58Don't. Sorry. Do not. Do not. Ignore your triggers.
- 10:09If you are aware of your triggers. It's okay.
- 10:12To share them too. The reason that is. somebody
- 10:18else not only could recognize when you're reacting
- 10:21to something that you're triggered by compared
- 10:24to something you're reacting to was actually
- 10:26happening in the reality right and i'm not saying
- 10:31to share your business and pour everything out
- 10:34but for example if you've been um unfortunately
- 10:41let's say scared upon or harassed or attacked
- 10:46You might not like somebody to come up behind
- 10:48you and maybe tap you on the shoulder to get
- 10:50your attention if they don't hear you, if they're
- 10:51calling your name. You may prefer somebody to
- 10:54call out to you from a distance. So that way
- 10:58you can hear, turn around and see them. Compared
- 11:02to if I tap you on your shoulder, you turn around
- 11:03and swing because that's a natural defense reaction.
- 11:06I can't be upset that you got triggered. You
- 11:08might throw me off. But you got triggered, right?
- 11:15And it's okay to give a warning. Before you react,
- 11:21discipline people on a pause. Okay? They're going
- 11:28to have a chosen response, a calculated response.
- 11:35For them, they're going to assess the situation,
- 11:39assess the process in the reaction. That's why
- 11:46some of y 'all that be hating on the people that
- 11:48be say they like too cool and some more stuff.
- 11:51Them the people that are mostly disciplined,
- 11:54that are relaxed, and situationally aware. Never
- 12:00too high, never too low. Right in between. Go
- 12:08ahead and subscribe. All right. Catch all the
- 12:11latest shenanigans. Drop a comment. Tell us what
- 12:17you think. Back to it. If you're going to be
- 12:27emotionally disciplined, you got to take your
- 12:31time and pause. That's the situation. When you're
- 12:40triggered, all your emotions flare out, your
- 12:46logic leaves. So you're now becoming emotionally
- 12:50hijacked because of your trigger. When your logic
- 12:57takes over your emotions, there is no reasoning
- 13:01behind your actions. So when you talk to me,
- 13:07talk to me with your logic, not with your emotions.
- 13:12Explain to me how you feel. Express it with your
- 13:16logic. Tell me about how you feel. Because if
- 13:22you show me. Then now. You have to be ready for
- 13:28my reaction. I can show you better. I can tell
- 13:34you too. I said what I said. And listen here
- 13:39first. But. So. One of the things that I can
- 13:47speak on is when it comes to emotional discipline
- 13:49for myself is. One of those signs that you can
- 13:53tell when you're not emotionally disciplined
- 13:55in that moment and you're losing, you're not
- 13:58using your logic and you're just being emotional.
- 14:02When you're replying too quick. Raise your voice
- 14:06or gets elevated. Right. Some people might consider
- 14:10this passion or right. Some people say you are
- 14:12being emotional. But I've been taught a word
- 14:15to you, and I've been taught to use a different
- 14:18word, elevated. Your voice gets elevated, right?
- 14:21So that's why you can tell somebody is triggered
- 14:24or stressed, right? But how many of us talk like
- 14:31that just in general when we're going back and
- 14:33forth with your peoples, right? Like some of
- 14:36us can go back and forth with the rah, rah, rah,
- 14:39and it might not even be none volatile, but that's
- 14:41just how we talk. right like that's just what
- 14:45we're doing ain't nobody upset or frustrated
- 14:47but that's how we talk for some people that's
- 14:51triggering they might not be able to be around
- 14:54that hang around that or engage in those type
- 14:57of things not because it's actual danger but
- 15:02it's danger to them so they might step away from
- 15:05the group or be more quiet less likely to open
- 15:08up when that's happening Because what do you
- 15:12do to protect yourself if you notice that you
- 15:16are triggered, right? Another way to find out
- 15:23and see somebody that's being triggered, right,
- 15:30is impulsive decision -making, right? So you
- 15:37can say people make impulsive decisions about...
- 15:40everyday things, right? When you're stressing,
- 15:43right, and you're going through something, what's
- 15:45the first thing you're going to do? Are you going
- 15:47to sit down and pause and figure it out? Or do
- 15:51we show comfort to our vices? We make us do what's
- 15:56comfortable in the meantime until we can figure
- 15:59it out what's right. Or until we no longer have
- 16:02to worry about it. Having regrets right after.
- 16:10Having a defensive tone when somebody's talking
- 16:12to you, that's a sign of somebody being triggered.
- 16:16How many times have you asked a question to somebody
- 16:18and they just get defensive right away? You can
- 16:22have a soft, hands -on, hug approach, and it's
- 16:25a defensive tone. That means they're triggered.
- 16:31How many of us know that we've actually triggered
- 16:33somebody too, though? We either ignored it. Or
- 16:38try to empathize with them. Right. Try to be
- 16:42aware. Of what we do to trigger people in ourselves
- 16:46too. That's important. A lot of us miss that.
- 16:55And how are you going to handle that weight.
- 16:58When you're aware that you're tricking somebody.
- 17:00Or if you're not aware you're tricking somebody.
- 17:02Come to find out that you did. Right. So. Don't
- 17:10let your reaction to, don't let your emotional
- 17:19hijack also affect your long -term thinking,
- 17:22right? So how many of you have a partner and
- 17:28then something go wrong or it's going bad and
- 17:33you make a decision that can affect the long
- 17:35-term status? or, you know, the health of your
- 17:42relationship. Words being said, you might go
- 17:47do something, right, out of spite, out of anger,
- 17:50all because your emotion is rising and your logic
- 17:55is thrown out the window. Well, then on the flip
- 17:58side, somebody's going to say, well, they did
- 18:00that when I was mad. That's a reason to go do
- 18:02what they did. Because they're no longer thinking
- 18:06logically. So they intend that desire may have
- 18:10been there or how they felt. But they were using
- 18:15logic. Because you can't sometimes control how
- 18:20you feel. You can always control how you react,
- 18:23though. Can y 'all hear me? Are you listening?
- 18:47It's hard to ignore everything or anything when
- 18:51you feel everything. It's hard to. Some of us
- 18:58are so overstimulated sometimes because you feel
- 19:02everything. Some people gonna call you sensitive.
- 19:06Some people are going to say you good with picking
- 19:08up and reading energy. How many times have you
- 19:14walked in a room, the old vibe and energy just
- 19:17been thrown off? That's a trigger right there.
- 19:22That's something off. Maybe something in the
- 19:25room. Somebody. Right? Make it make sense. So.
- 19:37Everybody wants to know or thinks about. The
- 19:41outcome of the reaction. Or they don't care about
- 19:44it until then. All right. Because. Doing arguments.
- 19:50Or doing a reaction. Arguments do escalate. Sorry.
- 19:54Most of the time. We were triggered. Arguments
- 20:00happen. Things like that. But if you're not mostly
- 20:03disciplined. and give a reaction that's not controlled,
- 20:07they escalate. Misunderstanding happens. You
- 20:13got more stress. You're worried, right? Because
- 20:17you're not only triggered about what happened,
- 20:19because now your emotions are rising, flaring
- 20:23up. Things are getting worse. Now, because if
- 20:30you're in an argument or inner disagreement and
- 20:34you're not using your logic, how does that go
- 20:37in with the dialogue? Right? It's hard not to
- 20:49react when you feel everything. And you can't
- 20:54tell anybody how to feel. You definitely can't
- 20:59tell them how to react. When you react to everything
- 21:05or give a reaction, another thing that can happen
- 21:12on the outcome is your reputation. People may
- 21:19or may not want to approach you, conversate with
- 21:22you because of a reaction that you gave. Regardless
- 21:26if it was because of what they did or did not
- 21:30do, because of your reaction that they seen.
- 21:34They can change their perspective on you. Your
- 21:39perspective is your reputation. Period. People
- 21:45say it doesn't matter what people think until
- 21:47it's time to interact with them. So, okay. You
- 21:52don't care what so -and -so thinks over there.
- 21:54If there is any time that not you may need to
- 21:58interact with them, somebody you know has that
- 22:01perception. imprinted on them not because they
- 22:05think of it but they heard how somebody else
- 22:08feel of you your reputation right that's no different
- 22:14than if you are a content creator a business
- 22:17owner and so and so is great they on time they
- 22:20actually early they good with communication compared
- 22:23to maybe their one experience with you was bad
- 22:28that can ruin your reputation so Watch how do
- 22:33we react, right? The more we react, the more
- 22:38energy it costs you. The more attention, right,
- 22:43it's going to take from you. When you're triggered,
- 22:49you're going to get drained. No matter if you
- 22:52argue for five minutes or ten minutes, the intensity
- 22:55of your energy being used is going to take away
- 22:59from you. You might not have wind going to work
- 23:03today because of what happened earlier. Right.
- 23:07Or something might happen in traffic. You know
- 23:10what I'm saying? Or you might have wind on your
- 23:11way to try to do an errand somewhere wrong. Right.
- 23:14Or your car got locked up or something like that.
- 23:18And now you just maybe all things to react to
- 23:22for. But the more we react to, the more you're
- 23:25going to get drained. Don't be tired out here.
- 23:30It's okay to feel what you feel. But watch how
- 23:34we're actually using our energy. That's what
- 23:37matters. Because. You have to be aware. Of what
- 23:47you give your energy to. In order to maintain.
- 23:52Your emotional discipline. Your emotional discipline.
- 24:01Does factor. Into your path. Not your decisions
- 24:05in life. Right. So. For example. I feel like
- 24:13some of the areas. That I choose. That I know.
- 24:18Being disciplined in right. Using my free time.
- 24:25Right so. What am I doing. When I'm not being
- 24:29productive. Yes, you need rest. Yes, you need
- 24:33sleep. Unplugging. Am I taking care of myself?
- 24:40Not only just mentally, physically. One way of
- 24:45being disciplined is how we eat, how I eat. So,
- 24:49yes, I want to enjoy something that may seem
- 24:53unpleasant to some people. Not eating out fast
- 25:00food, right? We know where to stay away from,
- 25:03not with the touch, right? How many of us can
- 25:09go a long time or an extended period of time,
- 25:15right, with retention? How long have you been
- 25:21disciplined to just, if you a single man out
- 25:26here and You can get, you have a choice, right?
- 25:33How many guys are getting everything they can
- 25:36get in a time instead of taking, right? What
- 25:41they consider top priority, high value women,
- 25:45right? That's discipline. Choosing not to is
- 25:54discipline. You can go get it whenever you want,
- 26:03from whoever you want. It's worth your energy.
- 26:06It's worth your time. Let's be disciplined on
- 26:15how we get or give our attention to when it comes
- 26:24to dating or somebody serious. Everybody you
- 26:31meet ain't worth meeting your mommy. Everybody
- 26:37you meet isn't worth bringing around the homeboys
- 26:40or the homegirls. Ladies, you can get approached
- 26:50by how many guys a day? You have discipline by
- 26:54turning down the people that you know or the
- 26:58guys. or women that you know that's not worth
- 27:05your time some gonna call it choosing you can
- 27:12say that's discipline because yeah a bunch of
- 27:17guys can offer you a whole bunch of different
- 27:18things or these same things but what's the part
- 27:22after that same goes for guys it's a whole it's
- 27:26a hundred women looked up there lined up by what's
- 27:32going to set them apart that you want. That's
- 27:38discipline. Discipline is ignoring the noise
- 27:46online. When you see something online that's
- 27:50supposed to bait you for a reaction and you don't
- 27:53respond, hit the comment. upload that's discipline
- 28:00right so we all gotta be better at that in multiple
- 28:10areas right so don't don't don't regret playing
- 28:18the moment replaying the moment later for that
- 28:21be disciplined If you react the wrong way, it
- 28:36can cost you more than just your reputation.
- 28:42Respect. Opportunities. Relationships. What are
- 28:56your values? on those things when you react.
- 29:01Yes, and people always say in hindsight when
- 29:03we come back to it, that's why you don't want
- 29:06to have regrets. Your reaction can cost you more
- 29:13than the actual problem that you're presenting.
- 29:19Take a step back and pause. Assess the situation.
- 29:29Right. Sometimes you might not have the five
- 29:32and 10 minutes to do all that. Especially if
- 29:35it's a back and forth or engagement conversation
- 29:39with another individual. At that point, you need
- 29:42to say or ask, is it OK to have this conversation
- 29:45later when you're ready? Right. When you can
- 29:50actually use your logic. Right. Because you're
- 29:53going to feel how you feel regardless. But your
- 30:00logic is going to change the more time from your
- 30:05window, from your trigger to your reaction. The
- 30:11pattern. Cycle. Trigger, reaction, repeat. Trigger,
- 30:18reaction, regret. Trigger, reaction, repeat,
- 30:25regret. How many times have you done that yourself?
- 30:34That you had to apologize for overreacting, assuming,
- 30:40insinuating, right? How many times have you felt
- 30:45bad because you used your logic later to replay
- 30:55the situation, assess the situation, and acknowledge
- 31:00Where your logic. Was thrown. Because you were
- 31:06mostly hijacked. How many times have you have
- 31:14been a victim. To somebody else's trigger. Reaction.
- 31:19They apologize. Do it again. So if you've been
- 31:28on both sides. That means, one, you can empathize
- 31:32when somebody else is triggered. You know what
- 31:37to do now when you get triggered. We all have
- 31:42been there. We all have done it. We all just
- 31:43got to get better. So let's do it for yourself,
- 31:48the people around you, and we all be better.
- 31:54So we'll be great. and good. Everything's not
- 31:58going to be good or great every day. But the
- 32:01bigger window we can have from the trigger to
- 32:04the reaction, the less chaos we'll probably have.
- 32:11And that's real. Because who want to see that
- 32:16cycle? We have to be better at identifying our
- 32:27triggers, right? Having a more slowed down response,
- 32:32building your awareness. Some of us need to be
- 32:37probably isolated to understand why we're doing
- 32:40what we're doing, right? Some of us might need
- 32:46outside guidance, right? Somebody to talk to,
- 32:52right? Yes, it can be therapy. Or it could just
- 32:56be your friend or person, somebody who listened
- 32:57to who you need to get honest feedback to you.
- 33:00Right. But you got to be OK with listening to
- 33:02that, too, because you might get triggered. How
- 33:09are you going to react to that? Right. So, yes,
- 33:14regret is one of your responses. So when you
- 33:18get triggered, what is another response to? Where
- 33:23is the self -improvement? You're regretted, but
- 33:26are you holding yourself accountable? You might
- 33:29apologize, right, for doing what you're doing,
- 33:35but can you also explain why you did what you
- 33:38did or how you reacted? You can explain how you
- 33:41felt, but does that explain to why you're saying
- 33:47you reacted that way? Well, I didn't feel unheard,
- 33:49so I just yelled and screamed at everybody. That's
- 33:54why you did it. That's not valid, though. That's
- 33:58not okay. Don't mean we all haven't done it.
- 34:03Right? So, or more, because I wasn't being heard,
- 34:06I stopped speaking. Right? Different reaction.
- 34:17Controlled response. Different outcome. People
- 34:24want to know, well, why are you not saying anything?
- 34:27You weren't listening. So in me raising my voice,
- 34:31the only thing it's going to do is bring attention
- 34:33to the tone of my voice and not the words that
- 34:37I'm saying. So let me show you better I can tell
- 34:42you. I said what I said. So real awareness. Do
- 34:50better. And do that. And that's all it is. That's
- 34:56all you got to do. So how do we get better to
- 35:04actually getting that motion and discipline into
- 35:09your pattern or sequence of being triggered to
- 35:17having that long pause and opening your window,
- 35:19right? And you get triggered. That's now. Pause.
- 35:29Process it. You got to write it down. Take a
- 35:33picture. I don't give a fuck. Do it. Then respond.
- 35:42Then move on. So. If you get triggered. Pause.
- 35:55You should have a better response, a more controlled
- 36:04response. We should help you move on. We should
- 36:10eliminate any confusion, misunderstandings, right?
- 36:15That's where a lot of things happen. So that's
- 36:19what makes the changes happen next. Excuse me.
- 36:28Your emotional awareness increases because you
- 36:32have less reactions. The more you're aware of
- 36:37things, the less likely you need to react. Your
- 36:45reactions decrease because your pause is longer.
- 36:51That window. From the trigger to the response.
- 36:57Open it up. Mental clarity. The longer you pause
- 37:06before you react, you have a better clarity of
- 37:09it. Because you're not using emotional impulse.
- 37:19What that's going to lead to is going back to
- 37:22what can cost you. Like your reputation and things
- 37:25like that, you're going to gain more respect
- 37:27because when people try to trigger you or gaslight
- 37:31you and they can't get you to do what they think
- 37:34they're going to get out of you, they're going
- 37:36to gain respect for you too. More respect, the
- 37:43ones who do and the ones who weren't aware are
- 37:46going to. They're paying attention. So you're
- 37:53doing it for yourself and everybody around you.
- 37:56What I mean when I say that is your reaction.
- 38:02Anything that's nonviolent or volatile. Is protecting
- 38:07your mental peace. And the people around you
- 38:12by making them aware. That you have emotional
- 38:16discipline and control. So the more you show
- 38:21that, the more people will respond to you differently
- 38:26too. Right? So like at work, you get triggered.
- 38:35Somebody either say something to you or call
- 38:39you out, whether they right or wrong. Is your
- 38:44response going to affect? your perception at
- 38:49work, your relationship with your coworkers,
- 38:52and how things go, right? Like, let's make it
- 39:02known that you are not emotionally disciplined.
- 39:10So if you're in the work environment, how are
- 39:13you going to be professional if you can't control
- 39:16your reaction to Somebody approaching you about
- 39:18doing your job to a standard that needs to be
- 39:22done, right? You get caught up by your boss or
- 39:26a supervisor. Hey, this is what we're saying.
- 39:30We need approval for you. Oh, well, so -and -so
- 39:33ain't over here doing nothing and this and this
- 39:35and that, so y 'all can't get on me. Where's
- 39:39your accountability at? Why are you worried about
- 39:44what somebody else is doing in the first place?
- 39:50Snitching. Get out of here. Yes, I'm back. Me
- 40:00snitching. And we snitching. But we talked about
- 40:05it. Right. I'm going back to how you do business.
- 40:09Right. So you're doing business with somebody
- 40:11and they're not communicating or holding up in
- 40:15their end of the deal. Are you going to match
- 40:17their energy and just say, okay, I'm going to
- 40:19be unprofessional too. I'm not going to respond
- 40:23back. I'm not going to do my job. I'm going to
- 40:25be late on my deadline. Things like that too.
- 40:29Just because they unprofessional or doing something,
- 40:32if you match that, you might not talk bad on
- 40:35them, but they might talk bad about you. You're
- 40:39going to risk your reputation. That's what you're
- 40:43willing to risk is how you feel, your reaction.
- 40:46Man, I like what they doing. Your relationship
- 40:54with your partner. When they do something you
- 40:58don't like, do you voice it and let them know
- 41:01and explain it to them? Or do you react? Do you
- 41:09go tick for tack? Do you show them better than
- 41:12you can tell them? Right? Seek to understand.
- 41:19Right? How many of us do that? Seek to understand
- 41:27before we react. Are we asking enough questions?
- 41:37Are we truly trying to understand what we're
- 41:39seeing? Because what you're seeing is not. What
- 41:45you saw isn't always what you seen. Make sure
- 41:51you get clarity on that before reacting. Save
- 41:56you a lot of stress, a lot of time, a lot of
- 41:57headache, a lot of pain. We got to do better.
- 42:03I got to do better. Don't let your emotions.
- 42:10Don't let your emotions overcome your logic.
- 42:15Don't let it overtake what you do. There's been
- 42:22plenty of times where I can say that I've overreacted
- 42:27to a situation that I didn't use my whole window,
- 42:31kept it real close. Now you can say, well, it
- 42:37might have been something that you might have
- 42:39deserved a reaction to, or you might have got
- 42:42fed up, something like that. It don't even matter.
- 42:46Well, I put myself in that situation. I get to
- 42:48that point. I'm still accountable for my reactions.
- 43:00And what people think or see on that. Right.
- 43:06You can control how people feel. But you can
- 43:10influence it. Don't forget that. You're a bigger
- 43:18force than you think. Don't forget that either.
- 43:24Don't forget to use your weight. Sometimes people
- 43:28need to feel it. How heavy things can get. Let
- 43:36them understand. You don't have to raise your
- 43:42voice. You just have to be clear. So ask yourself
- 43:54this. Are you reacting to your reality? Are you
- 44:01reacting to your triggers? And what are you doing
- 44:07about it? What is your window to your reaction?
- 44:16What is your trigger? You can't control what
- 44:25people say. Can't control what people do. You
- 44:29can't control how you can respond though. Control
- 44:34what you can control. And be the best version
