- 0:45Speaker 3: Yeah, happy to be here man.
- 0:47Speaker 5: Right as you mentioned, Bullet Belt make the trek over
- 0:50Speaker 5: from New Zealand very surely, one of the reasons being
- 0:54Speaker 5: to play at next forro Sonic Festival at the Mansfield
- 0:57Speaker 5: Tavern on August first May light.
- 1:00Speaker 4: It's only ten days now.
- 1:01Speaker 5: I'll probably be about about seven days by the time
- 1:03Speaker 5: this comes out.
- 1:03Speaker 4: But he's packed it ready to go away. How excited
- 1:05Speaker 4: I am?
- 1:07Speaker 3: Pretty much? Yeah, I'm ready to go. And they need
- 1:09Speaker 3: a backpack. Being the vocalist, the rest of the band
- 1:12Speaker 3: that they have to lug all their shit, so that's
- 1:15Speaker 3: on to them. Yeah, I know we're fucking keen man.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I haven't been over there with the band, but before
- 1:21Speaker 3: I joined the band has been over in Australia before,
- 1:24Speaker 3: so I'm sure they know people there. I think we've
- 1:27Speaker 3: got some fans there as well that would be keen
- 1:29Speaker 3: to see us. But yeah, man, I'm fucking ready to
- 1:32Speaker 3: go wacked now.
- 1:35Speaker 5: Netrocitic is going to be a massive celebration medal with
- 1:37Speaker 5: thirty bands over three stages and twelve hours featuring Psychropic.
- 1:42Speaker 4: There's load misery, Creep yourselves and the host of others.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Man, Like, is there anyone on that lineup that's really
- 1:47Speaker 5: taking your fancy that you're looking forward to seeing it?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Ah?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Fuck?
- 1:51Speaker 5: Man?
- 1:51Speaker 3: Putting me on the spot. I'm not going to name favorites,
- 1:55Speaker 3: but I'm just stoked to be there with that many bands,
- 1:59Speaker 3: you know, I think for any band getting outside of
- 2:03Speaker 3: their own country is a big thing. But also being
- 2:07Speaker 3: able to mosh to thirty plus bands, I love moshing,
- 2:11Speaker 3: So it's gonna be a good night for me if anything.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Eh.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 5: And on the subject of international bro like, Bull Belt
- 2:18Speaker 5: one of only two international bands that have been asked
- 2:21Speaker 5: to play man so that's a bit of.
- 2:22Speaker 4: An honor in itself.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Hell yeah, yeah, who's the other band there? Not too sure?
- 2:28Speaker 4: Now you put me on the spot, all right?
- 2:33Speaker 3: One for one. Yeah, man, Yeah, going overseas is always
- 2:37Speaker 3: a fucking trip, you know, even though it's over the ditch.
- 2:42Speaker 3: It is a different culture and it's it's really good
- 2:44Speaker 3: to see. The thing I like the most is just
- 2:48Speaker 3: seeing all the different places, you know, and meeting different bands,
- 2:53Speaker 3: and it gives you ideas as well for your own
- 2:55Speaker 3: band what you can do, which is really good.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 3: I mean it is the dream. I wouldn't want to
- 2:59Speaker 3: do anything else, so I can bring it on them.
- 3:02Speaker 3: It couldn't come sooner, but.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Yeah, So for those unfamiliar with bulletfeld mate, tell us
- 3:08Speaker 5: all we can expect from your life shows.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Sure, heaps of energy, man, We get on there and
- 3:15Speaker 3: we want to represent New Zealand and especially where we
- 3:20Speaker 3: come from, which is a bit more of the underdogs
- 3:24Speaker 3: you could say, which just gives us even more fucking
- 3:28Speaker 3: passion to just give it our all.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Kind of thrashy type of music, but we've also got
- 3:34Speaker 3: some catchy choruses in there now. Yeah, as long as
- 3:39Speaker 3: you're happy to mosh, then then with a band for you,
- 3:42Speaker 3: you know.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 5: The Queensland fans out the only ones you get to enjoy.
- 3:47Speaker 5: May you've got shows in Sydney and Melbourn as well.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Tell us about them.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so Melbourne, we're playing at the Workers Club,
- 3:55Speaker 3: technically working at the Workers Club, aren't we. Uh yeah,
- 3:59Speaker 3: he has on that one, so that that's the one
- 4:01Speaker 3: that starts off the show for us. Meet all the
- 4:05Speaker 3: guys already just on on Messenger and stuff, so keen
- 4:08Speaker 3: to meet them in real life, Fay, And for me,
- 4:11Speaker 3: I've always hurt that Melbourne is a really good place
- 4:14Speaker 3: to play music, so yeah, he nice to see that.
- 4:18Speaker 3: And I think the other one, yes, Adelaide at the
- 4:21Speaker 3: Crown and Anchor that is the next day on the thirtieth.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Haven't been there either, so my first time for all
- 4:28Speaker 3: of these places. So again, man, just keen to see
- 4:32Speaker 3: all the bands, meeting everyone and even the fans. One
- 4:37Speaker 3: funny thing is no matter where you go in the world,
- 4:40Speaker 3: the fans kind of always stay the same. There's always
- 4:44Speaker 3: the same type of people, so that's always something fun
- 4:47Speaker 3: to check out, as well as who your local punters
- 4:50Speaker 3: are and you know, comparing them to the rest of
- 4:52Speaker 3: the world. Yeah, the metal crowds the best for sure.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Many come over there.
- 4:58Speaker 5: O released your most recent album, to Burn It Up
- 5:02Speaker 5: in September of twenty twenty three.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Mates, So how was that one?
- 5:05Speaker 3: To see fucking tip top Man? Like, we actually got
- 5:10Speaker 3: it to number one in the New Zealand album charts. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 3: which is fucking crazy for a middle album, you know,
- 5:18Speaker 3: from a middle band from Wellington. Yeah, and then we
- 5:22Speaker 3: took that album and we went and toured Europe for
- 5:27Speaker 3: about a month. I think we did something like thirteen shows,
- 5:30Speaker 3: if I'm not wrong, and people in Europe seem to
- 5:33Speaker 3: really like it as well. And yeah, I couldn't be
- 5:36Speaker 3: happier with it, to be honest, but I am keen
- 5:40Speaker 3: to kind of show everyone what we have written already,
- 5:44Speaker 3: because it's it's an evolution I think from what we
- 5:47Speaker 3: currently have.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Yeah, and that was actually your first album as both
- 5:52Speaker 5: us for ball A bel Bro.
- 5:52Speaker 4: So how was the whole process for you?
- 5:56Speaker 3: It was pretty fast and wild, to be honest, because
- 5:59Speaker 3: they hit me up they said, hey, you want to
- 6:01Speaker 3: try out? I'm like, yeah, hell yeah. So I send
- 6:04Speaker 3: him a couple of videos and whatnot, and then they
- 6:07Speaker 3: almost never said you're in the band. They just kind
- 6:09Speaker 3: of said come record this album. So I was like
- 6:13Speaker 3: all right, So I flew up and yeah, we went
- 6:15Speaker 3: to this brand new studio. I forget what the school is.
- 6:19Speaker 3: It's like a you know, some not a high school,
- 6:23Speaker 3: a college type thing. And they just built a brand
- 6:26Speaker 3: new studio and it's fucking massive. And yeah, it was
- 6:30Speaker 3: a whole week of recording, day in, day out, and
- 6:32Speaker 3: then the album was done and it feels like a
- 6:36Speaker 3: fever dream. But here we are. Now we're going to
- 6:38Speaker 3: bring it over to Australia, so it's going to be
- 6:41Speaker 3: it's going to be dope, man. Yeah, it's good time. Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 5: What's it actually like as a vocalist coming into an
- 6:47Speaker 5: established band?
- 6:48Speaker 4: Roight like sort of?
- 6:49Speaker 5: You know, like a lot of people say vocalist are
- 6:50Speaker 5: the hardest one to replace in the band, So you know,
- 6:52Speaker 5: guitars comes in, it's not as big a deal.
- 6:55Speaker 4: So how's you hope with that?
- 6:58Speaker 3: I just ignored all the voices in my head saying
- 7:03Speaker 3: that I needed to amount like compare myself, I guess
- 7:07Speaker 3: to the previous vocalists. So I just made it my own.
- 7:11Speaker 6: Man.
- 7:11Speaker 3: I gave it my all and that's all everyone can
- 7:14Speaker 3: expect from me, and that's all I can expect from myself.
- 7:17Speaker 3: But the boys were all so welcoming and nice and Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 3: to be honest, really easy. It's not as difficult as
- 7:27Speaker 3: I expected. Yeah, the weirdest part is learning someone else's
- 7:32Speaker 3: lyrics and songs and whatnot. But yeah, that was all right,
- 7:36Speaker 3: though not too bad.
- 7:39Speaker 4: I hope I'm not wrong here.
- 7:40Speaker 5: But just the first time that a lot of clean
- 7:43Speaker 5: vocals had been used.
- 7:44Speaker 3: On record, Yeah, yeah, for sure, very first time. All
- 7:49Speaker 3: the previous ones are all screaming and whatnot. But since
- 7:54Speaker 3: I can do both, we thought, fuck it, well, we'll
- 7:56Speaker 3: do both. Why not use what's available?
- 7:58Speaker 2: You know?
- 8:00Speaker 4: How would the fans with the old school fans accepting
- 8:03Speaker 4: that straight away? I have taken a while to come around.
- 8:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Man, most of them are really good, but there's always
- 8:08Speaker 3: a few that are like, uh, you know, what are
- 8:12Speaker 3: they called the you know the classic? Yeah, they're like gods,
- 8:19Speaker 3: it's not fucking middle anymore. As soon as it's got
- 8:23Speaker 3: an ounce of melody in it. And to that we
- 8:25Speaker 3: say whatever, don't give a fuck. We write music for ourselves.
- 8:30Speaker 3: So if you don't like it, dude, cool, keep that
- 8:34Speaker 3: opinion to yourself because I don't care. Yeah, dance right
- 8:39Speaker 3: pretty much?
- 8:40Speaker 4: Fuck them?
- 8:42Speaker 3: Yeah, man cares evolves. Yeah, music evolves. Man, if we
- 8:52Speaker 3: were still playing the same shit fucking every day, every month,
- 8:57Speaker 3: every year. How boring would that be?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Right?
- 9:00Speaker 3: Screw that?
- 9:03Speaker 5: They just say someone's come along in the next for
- 9:05Speaker 5: Sonic bro and like they don't know many bands that
- 9:07Speaker 5: are playing there. They want to get to know Bulletbelt
- 9:09Speaker 5: a bit better, Like give us three of your songs
- 9:11Speaker 5: that they can listen to to get them in the
- 9:13Speaker 5: movie for sure.
- 9:15Speaker 3: So off the new album, I would say, burn It Up,
- 9:19Speaker 3: which is a song and also the name of the album,
- 9:22Speaker 3: burn it Up has a bit of everything that thrash,
- 9:25Speaker 3: that old school screaming as well as the singing off
- 9:28Speaker 3: the other albums I personally really like Faster than Death.
- 9:34Speaker 3: That kind of shows the more old school sound that
- 9:37Speaker 3: we also have more aggressive death metal, I would say.
- 9:41Speaker 3: And then the third one I would say is death Gasm,
- 9:45Speaker 3: which is a song Bullet belted before I joined for
- 9:49Speaker 3: the movie Death Gasm, which is a huge part of
- 9:52Speaker 3: our history. So check that out as well, the movie
- 9:56Speaker 3: and the song because birth are awesome.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Shatsy gag alright, Roll, thanks very much for your time, Broke,
- 10:02Speaker 5: being a pleasure speaking with your fort build are over.
- 10:05Speaker 4: But next for a Sonic of August, the three. First
- 10:07Speaker 4: they got.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Shows in Melbourne and are laid in the lead up
- 10:11Speaker 5: to a brow and looking forward.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Catched up there.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Sounds good, may so I'll see you there then eh.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Alright, Roight travel says, are you are God?
- 10:22Speaker 2: Maybe God's consent from.
- 10:51Speaker 7: Day my time, sir h jacky no side.

- 12:00Speaker 8: lot just by.
