- 0:00SPEAKER_02: All right, this is Brendan Stacy with Let's Wind with Brendan Stacy, and this is our Easter episode.
- 0:04SPEAKER_02: We thought we'd come and talk about candy and the Easter bunny and maybe a few Easters past.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: A few Easters past, maybe a few Easters to come.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: What so first of all, we looked it up earlier.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: What the hell is Easter Day about?
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: It doesn't fall on the same time.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: It doesn't fall in the same.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: I'm just always confused.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: So it has something to do with the full moon and the Passover for that I don't completely understand.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: That's the week before, right?
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: And then Good Friday.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: And then something about Good Friday.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: As a as a good Christian person, I should know these things.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: You I was gonna say, as a Jesus freak, but maybe I shouldn't have been.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: I'm not a Jesus freak.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: You had about a hundred Jesuses sitting around his house.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: That was though those were different.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: And your um grandson Lark goes, I've never met anyone who has a bowl full of Jesuses.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: I know, I'm sure.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: And then since you gave him a couple, I heard that they were found in the hallway at their house.
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: They made it back to Florida with him.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Well, good, good, good, good.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, it is a holy religion, but it baffles me.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Corporate America doesn't recognize it.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Some do.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Some do.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: You're just mad because you have to work on Easter Sunday.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: I'm mad because my corporate job doesn't recognize it.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: And I may have to work on Easter Sunday.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Um, but somebody's got to do it.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: And it baffles me the amount of people who come in and say, I cannot believe you're open.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: And I just want to go, I cannot believe you're shopping.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: Well, maybe they want that Easter discount.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: When do you start discounting Easter stuff?
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: Is it the day after?
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: The day after.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: So they can't come in there on Easter and get a discount.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Stay home, people.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: Stay home.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: Don't come shopping.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: So I don't have to work every Easter for the rest of my life.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: But um anyway, yeah, it's uh it shouldn't be a shopping holiday.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: It should be a like a family time holiday to reflect and enjoy each other's company and be around each other and laugh and love and all of those things.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: Well, I'll be working on Easter, but I work in a place that's open 24 hours to Easter.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: You do, and and also y'all celebrate.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and they'll have their Easter dinner.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: They've already done an egg hunt for kids and staff kids and yeah.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so y'all be celebrating.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: And I know you working there, those people aren't like your family.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: They're an extended part of your family.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: So in a sense, it's I mean, yes, you're gonna be at work and earning money, but also you're gonna be celebrating with people you genuinely like to be on.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: I like to be in their company.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: I have people, I mean, I hate to say this, but there are people that come up to me and they're like, I don't know how you do it.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: I don't know how you do it.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Because this is my first round with memory care, but it's been over a year now, and I love it.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: It's a I don't want to tur use the term crazy at all because I'm probably crazier.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: But I think there's something in my personality that just it it works.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: I'm worse.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: I can take it.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: I can take the being called names and being hit and everything else.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: And it doesn't bother me because you know you still get that gleam every now and then.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: They're in there.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: I still believe they're in there.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: That's gotta be super cool for you.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: It really is.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Experience that and see that.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: And then when their family members like come to visit or whatever, do you share that with them?
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: That little that little moment of like, oh, she was right there.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: You know, you have that.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, I know.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: I do, and I love to tell them the good things like they were singing today or they knew all the words, you know.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: That's what that's what's amazing, I think.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: You know, I have worked with dementia before, and I think what it just blows my mind.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, I went through it with my mom.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: I could ask her, would you eat for breakfast?
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: Couldn't tell you, but she could tell you what happened back in 1935, like it was happening now.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: And there's just that piece of that brain that just you know, it's shuts off.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: And I know I know you love the brain and how intricate it is and all the things it does.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: And I think I see that in you like to watch people Oh, I love watching people.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: How we how we survive and cope and oh you know how well we're doing with Easter facts.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: I thought this was gonna be about Easter, but we went off on a trail.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: We have been celebrating Easter at work and we've done like Easter songs and some Easter trivia has come up already.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: And we did Oh, yesterday we made little Easter ornaments.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: It was wooden, and you know, we drew on them, and then the week before there was a garland that was made with all their names on it, and they put little stickers on it as hanging in the office.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Love that.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Love that.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: I love that for them.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: So what are we doing fun for Easter?
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: What's an Easter fun thing we're doing?
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: Eating candy.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: What are our favor I don't like marshmallow.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: I know that's a big thing.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: I used to love peeps until I realized what gelatin was, I think.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: It's just now I can't eat the marshmallow.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't like the peeps.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I don't like the I mean, I don't like marshmallow anyway, but then to put that hard sugar on it.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: See, I think of sugar.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: I love that grit of sugar.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: No.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: I love my sweets.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: I love sweets too, but what are we gonna do for chocolate.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Dark chocolate.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: Just dark chocolate.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: I see you have your bunnies out.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: My little bunnies are out.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: I've been wearing my little Easter ears at work.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: The more ridiculous I look at work, I think people treat me better.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: They probably do.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: I know it's a personal theory, and I just run with it.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: It must work.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: I just like to look ridiculous with my face.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: There's nothing wrong with that.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: I do love Easter candy, and I went to Aldi this morning.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: And now some of their stuff has gone on sale already, and I think they're already starting to turn over else everything's been bought.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: The Isle of Shame from the back on the left side, it's like empty already.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: It's like candy empty and then Isle of Shame kind of stuff that's there year-round.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: So I think they're already starting to move things over or else it's been sold.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: And my new quest for Aldi is um they've have advertised an aloe plant.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: And uh, I want to dip my toe in growing an aloe plant.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: So uh Aldi, I'm ready for y'all to have them now.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: I think they're like$4.99.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: See, to me, I don't care to me, spending$4.99 on a plant, if I'm gonna bring it home and kill it, it's fine.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: And it's gotta be in the house because you know I'm not gonna go outside and tend a nut.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: It's hot out there.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna mm-mm.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: I I'm not tending that outside growth of anything.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, me either.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: No, too much.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: Um, do you remember when we used to take our kids to Lakeshore Mall to have their pictures taken with the Easter bunny?
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: I think we did talk about the Santa Claus.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: But this Easter bunny, I don't know.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: I th I he moved kind of slow.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: So I always wondered what he was on.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: And when I think about it now, there is no way in hell I would let my children sit on those mall people.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm sure some of them are very nice, but you know that the Santa Claus is the one that reeked of alcohol every year.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: So I'm thinking, and I had girls, and I just plop my girls on some man's lap that I did not know for a picture.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: I think about that now and I hate I'm sorry, Camille.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: I am sorry, Curry, that I did that to you.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: But I still have the pictures.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: I know the memories though, you know, of doing that, because we didn't we weren't doing it to put our kids on a creepy person's knife.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: But I wonder if they're in prison now.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: Well, that's none of our business.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: The purpose was we're gonna take our kids to go get a picture taken with a creepy person in a suit, and not all of them are.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: And we did.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: And we sure did.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Every year we show up year after year after year.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: Happy Easter.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Happy Easter, Christmas.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: I know, we're getting our pictures taken with the Easter bunny or Santa Claus or what have you.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: What makes it worse is the kid if the kids were crying, did you make them stay?
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: Oh yes.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're gonna buy this picture, even if you're screaming.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, I have some screaming pictures of the kids.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: I mean That was funny.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: It was a right of passage.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: I know they're welcome.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: You know, these moms now probably wouldn't.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: You know, I used to be scared to go see Santa when I was little, and I had this big fear of the Easter bunny from a dream that I had where he was one of those mangled looking ones, and I don't know what's making me think of it now.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: The house we grew up in, I could look out my parents' window to see the front porch, and the dream seems so real as a child, and there's that demonic-looking bunny on the front porch at the front door that I could see, and I'm screaming to the other people in the house, which I assume are mom and dad, don't let him in.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: And the last thing I remember is that door opening.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: And you still watch horror shit today.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: Love it.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: I think my own dreams affect me more than the movies I watch.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've never had a uh scary dream about a Easter bunny.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: Well, I hope you do tonight.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: No.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Or Santa Claus.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: But no, I thought it was adorable.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: I thought you had a Santa fetish.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, I do have that one baby picture where I'm staring at Santa like he's just gonna be the love of my life.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: And I think if I remember correctly, we were at the mall one time without the kids, and you were talking about let's get our picture taken with a Santa and you asked, Is it okay if I face him when I sit on his lap?
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: That probably happened.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say we probably have been at Chili's, but I wouldn't get one free margaritas.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: And Chili's was in the mall parking lot, so we just moseyed on over.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Look at that Santa.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Like your leg up on his knee.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: I don't know, that's a cute picture.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: We should post that one too.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: Do we have a picture of you?
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: We do when I'm like April.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: I think the difference is Santa could talk, whereas Easter Bunny couldn't.
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: So maybe that's why I think there was something going on with the Easter bunny and the movements, and I don't know.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: The Easter Bunny just did all the things that I think.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: I think that was just an awkward fucking outfit to wear and to function in and to work.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: You know how we are with uh with our hair down at work.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: It's like, uh you're awkward and this is uncomfortable and you don't want your hair touching you.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: I know can you imagine having to wear a whole suit for hours and hours?
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: My hair is always in a ponytail.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: All them screaming brats clopping up on you.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: And the parents are just like, just go with it.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Just go, just take the picture and sign there screaming.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: I know you'll be grounded if you don't.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: You want some Easter candy?
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: Easter buddy's watching you.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: You know you said that too.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Santa.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: I know Santa's number.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, I pulled that one.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: I had his 800 number.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: I will call Santa Claus at the end.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: I will call Santa Claus at the North Pole right in there.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Off the subject of Easter though, but were you scared of the tooth fairy?
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: Or were you all about like, oh, they're coming in the night?
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: No, I wasn't afraid of a tooth fairy, or I don't remember being afraid of anything mystical or I think I wanted things like I wanted a pet unicorn.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: I wish I had a pet frog that really wore a crown.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: You mean like a Prince Charming Frog?
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like one of those.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: You know, like that's how But frogs aren't like that in the wild.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: Neither are unicorns.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: No.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: I remember wishing that my stuffed animals could talk.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's a thing.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: And I I was like, before even Toy Story came out, I thought they had some whole thing going on when I wasn't in the room.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: When you weren't home.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: And I thought I was hoping my cat could talk too.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: You're hoping the cat and the stuffed animals were talking about you when you weren't there.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Well, I don't know if they were talking about me.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: I wonder if they were talking to each other.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Oh well.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: Somebody else thought that too.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: Thus we have the movie Toy Story.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: But they didn't talk to the animals.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: Were there animals in the house?
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't Were there?
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Then you got me questioning there was mom, sister.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: I think there was a dog or something.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Well there was Slinky Dog, but he was a toy.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: Surely.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Now I gotta go back and watch Toy Story.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, that's what we're doing Easter night.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: That's what we're doing.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Stacy's birthday is coming up, so she's gonna have her Scotty here again.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: My little baby Scotty is coming up from Florida and um try to spend uh a few days with Tyler Nancy while we're all together, and so definitely looking forward to that.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: Um, but we have a lot of things to celebrate, you know, coming up and anniversaries and um other birthdays besides mine.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: I can't believe I'm gonna share my month with other things.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Like what?
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: I know, I don't know, but I do know tomorrow's the first day of April, which starts my birthday month.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: So I'm ready every day.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: I'm ready to celebrate.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: Jeff, I hope you're listening and you know this is an entire month.
- 13:07SPEAKER_02: Entire month.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: Let those celebrations begin.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: It'll be fun.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: I guess for Easter though, I'm just gonna sit around and eat some dark chocolate that night.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: I should get off at my normal time and Perfect.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Come home and do whatever it is we do.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: I'll be out in the corporate retail world.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Doing your thing.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: I rem I mean, I always said Easter was my bad luck day.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: And here I am throwing the Debbie Downer on it, you know, I always do.
- 13:36SPEAKER_02: This one is more my own fault.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: When I was eight years old, I was in the kitchen chair up on my knees, and we were getting ready to go to church.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: Believe it or not, I went, but I always went to church on Sundays with my mom and dad when my grandparents were still alive because we always went to MCL cafeteria afterwards in Indianapolis on 16th Street.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: So I'm on my knees, and my mother did tell me, quit doing that.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: You know how you grab the back of the chair and you start rocking?
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: I rocked it over and had a big knot on the back of my head.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: It ended up at the doctor.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: So there was that.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: But then the worst thing, my grandmother, I must have been 11.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: She had her first stroke on Easter Sunday.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: I know, and ended up in a nursing home for a while for therapy.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: And so Easter, and I got a spinning ticket on an Easter a long time ago.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: Easter's just one of those days that there's like this vortex on it for me.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: Maybe it's because I quit going to church after my grandparents died.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: I've had bad Easter two Easter Sundays in a row.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: My nanny slammed my hand, my finger in the um car door.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: Two Easter Sundays in a row.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Wait a minute.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: She slammed your hand two Sundays in a row, or something else was the different Easter?
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: No, she slammed my hand in the um in the car door, two Easter Sundays in a row.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: That sounds purposeful.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: She was like, that's right.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: I can't wait till next Easter.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: I know you want to act up on Easter.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna slam your hand in the door.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: Funny is you'd think I'd learn to move my hands out of the way.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: You know, when you get out of the car, stop touching it.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: Just move.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: Well, you're promising there's no way my nanny would do that to me again.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Not again.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: She had to eat two Easter Sundays in a row.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: And uh I don't think my hands are still ripe from it, but anyway, that happened.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: That explains those jacked up fingers.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: And then it's a lot of times you uh you know, you I just sit in the restaurant and they would get me a bag of ice and I just wrap my hand in it.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, probably broken finger.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: So they went out to eat anyway?
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, we still went out to eat.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: I I don't think I got to go on the day I knocked knock my head out and went and busted out the back of my head.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, we still had Easter Sunday dinner at a restaurant.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, nice.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: And um they would go in and get me a bag of ice and just it was like they were like, Oh yeah, didn't you do this last year?
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I knew.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: They're like, there's that poor little girl there.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Her grandmother just blessed her.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what happened.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: So Oh, that's funny.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: Have you ever told that story before?
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, my nanny and people that went to church with us knew.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: They knew, yeah.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: People at the restaurant knew.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: What restaurant was it?
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: It was uh one of the buffets, like a Quincy's or Ryan's or uh Quincy's.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: You get the good rolls, yeah, those rolls rolls.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: I could just eat and make a meal out of that.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: But anyway, um, yeah, I would uh sat there two two Easter Sundays in a row, my poor hand wrapped up in the ice crack.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: I know it's awful, but it's funny because the same person did it to you.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: She loved me so much she would not have done that on purpose.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: But what are the chances?
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: I was like, I don't know if I like this Easter shit.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: Well, now that she has passed on, do you want me to slam your hand in the door this year?
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: No, I'd rather that never ever happen to me again.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: How about in my car?
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: No.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: That's a big door.
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: That's a heavy ass door.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: No, I know.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, back in the day, I mean, I was what, seven, eight years old, that's the age of my car.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: Big door, I know.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Those are big doors now.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Ben then, and um yeah, so that's fuck Easter.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: Easter's hard.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: I don't know, and I know a lot of people do celebrate because of the religious aspect of it, because um, that's when Jesus pulled his zombie thing and came back after three days.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: I mean he's risen.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: That's what the Christians say.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: He's risen.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Well, what are the chances?
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: I don't see if it can happen my hand two Easter Sundays in a row.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Well, there's that.
- 17:34unknown: He does.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: I know the day I see somebody I know though up popping around though, I'll I'll believe it.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: I will.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: I will give it every shot I've got.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: I'm still waiting.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: I don't know, still waiting.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: But in the meantime, we're gonna celebrate Easter accordingly to our beliefs and how everybody does it, how everybody wishes to do it or not do it.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: I don't even think you have any more Jesus out for me to go hide or take to the bar with me.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm like I did at Christmas.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: No, because I hide them from you now.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: I don't want to leave a Jesus in the open in front of you.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: Well, he's thirsty.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: No.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: No.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: He might be thirsty.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: He's fine.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: That man drank wine.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: I do love him.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: He sits sits on the my car in a little I shouldn't tell you where it is.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: It's on your dashboard.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, you know where it is?
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so bit in your car.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: And he he just stays there religiously.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: He just stays right there.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Why do you stick it down?
- 18:31SPEAKER_02: Uh-uh.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: You licked it?
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: No.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: I was gonna say, how is he still staying there though and not rolling off?
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: Or does he roll off every time you make a hard break?
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: No, he doesn't roll off.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: I left him off the other day at the car wash, and when I was wiping out down the dash, you know, and everything, and I just popped him back up there and He just magically sticks.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: Like I'm a believer.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: And I believe he's just gonna be there and ride with me and watch out for me.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: That's the main thing.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: You think he is?
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: He's got me.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Somebody's got me.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: It's gotta be him.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: We hope everybody does have a happy Easter.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Whatever.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: Um whatever you do or whatever you celebrate, or even if it's just the joy of your kids, even if it's just Easter baskets and candy, I'm okay with that.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: Oh but I mean it's still kind of the celebration of spring.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: You know, it's another season.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm not a I'm not a big fan, but I do kind of there is a feeling that comes with it.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Of course, I'm the one that waits around for fall and winter, but you know.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, spring is spring.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Yes, and there's a lot more crafts at work.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can stick a flower in anything called a craft.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: Let's enjoy it, let's celebrate, however, we can.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Eat some candy.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Eat some candy.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: Maybe people stay at home and don't shop, so we'll start closing our store.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: Yes, please have mercy on Stacy.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's a lot of stores that I did read are closed, so why is World Market open?
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: Poor Stacy.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: God bless my heart.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: But I know.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: I'll be celebrating in my heart for sure.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: I wish Billy Idol would come celebrate with me real quick.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: I did watch his go to Churchill, Billy Idol.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: Oh, you just keep pushing it.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: With Billy Idol, I would go sit there.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: I would go sit there next to him and hold his hand and rub on his leg.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: And he would while he was praising the Lord.
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: While he's praising the Lord.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: I did watch his documentary.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: I gotta watch it.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Don't tell me any.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: Okay, I won't tell you anything.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: I would have all that.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: We'll do a little review about it.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: It's I mean, it was everything I thought it'd be.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: Nothing unexpected.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: No, nothing unexpected.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: I have to say the Prince documentary is really good.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: And I was not um disappointed.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Everything I feel about him is just true.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: So I watched one on Devo too.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: There's a Devo one up.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: I think that was on Netflix.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: That's a good one too.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Anyway, we gotta go catch up on some TV.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna wrap this one up.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: We got some holidays to celebrate.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: We hope you do too.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, real quick, I think we might do another pet peeves episode because those keep coming in the emails.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: We evidently have a lot of complainers in our lives, and I'm okay with that.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: Me too.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: Because we're I think we're natural born complainers.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: Well, just bitchers.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: I mean it's the name of the show.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: We're whining.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: We're whining and bitching about everything.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: So if you have more pet peeves, send them to BS Studios at byyahoo.com.
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: We want to hear what you're bitching about.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: And by the way, happy Easter.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: Happy Easter.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Unless wine.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: We're friend and Stacey.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: Bye.
