- 1:52Speaker 1: Really.
- 1:56Speaker 3: God attend to the things.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Of our heart.
- 2:00Speaker 2: And oftentimes we wonder why we sometimes don't have our
- 2:10Speaker 2: prayers don't get answered, or things truly don't happen for
- 2:13Speaker 2: us because we truly don't put it in our heart,
- 2:17Speaker 2: We truly don't put it deep down where He really searched.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Because He said He attend to the things of our heart.
- 2:26Speaker 2: So I want to share this with y'all, and I'm

- 3:34Speaker 2: we truly believe in trauma no more. Because we have
- 3:38Speaker 2: all these different resources and these different things that are
- 3:40Speaker 2: available to us, and today you're gonna have an opportunity
- 3:44Speaker 2: to receive some of these tools and some of these
- 3:46Speaker 2: resources from five amazing individuals that are going to be

- 3:55Speaker 2: that they have learned on their journey. So you're going
- 3:57Speaker 2: to get their perspectives. So grab your favorite revilege, grab

- 4:16Speaker 3: I'm gonna turn.
- 4:16Speaker 2: It over to the host at this time, Missus Trevida harass.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Let me bring up, Let me bring up y'all.
- 4:30Speaker 2: And I should have been better prepared while y'all, I'm
- 4:33Speaker 2: telling y'all were on this new platform and it is
- 4:37Speaker 2: a doozy for me, someone that is not so tech savvy.
- 4:43Speaker 3: And I know y'all like you do so much. How
- 4:45Speaker 3: you not tech savvage. I'm not.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I've just been so fortunate that he has There we go,
- 4:59Speaker 2: there she go.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Good morning, good morning, and thank you for having me.
- 5:11Speaker 4: You know, when you asked me to host, I was like, okay,
- 5:16Speaker 4: you want me to hold something.
- 5:17Speaker 5: You know that's not really what I do, but okay,
- 5:19Speaker 5: I do it. So here I am.
- 5:21Speaker 4: You guys, welcome, you get me. I'm gonna have some jokes.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I'm gonna be silly, so just enjoy the ride because
- 5:28Speaker 4: this is a very serious matter. You know, we need
- 5:30Speaker 4: to talk about healing, but most people want to run
- 5:32Speaker 4: away from it because they don't want to do the
- 5:34Speaker 4: hard work that comes with healing. But it is necessary
- 5:37Speaker 4: in order for us to grow and be the person
- 5:40Speaker 4: that God has created us to be. So healing, empowerment, alignment, resilience,
- 5:46Speaker 4: and trauma no more are some very important things that
- 5:49Speaker 4: we're gonna talk about and highlight today. So if you,
- 5:53Speaker 4: like she said earlier, make sure you got your pinion
- 5:56Speaker 4: and some paper and take down these gems because the
- 6:00Speaker 4: these amazing women are going to share their journey with
- 6:03Speaker 4: each one of these things, and there's something that each
- 6:06Speaker 4: one of us can relate to.
- 6:07Speaker 5: But before we do anything, we definitely have.
- 6:10Speaker 4: To go to God in prayer because without him we
- 6:13Speaker 4: are not in the places where we are supposed to be.
- 6:15Speaker 5: And a lot of.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Times we often try to run from where God is
- 6:18Speaker 4: taking us anyway, but we always have to come back
- 6:21Speaker 4: to where God leads us to be. You can be
- 6:23Speaker 4: hardheaded all you want to, but God is always going
- 6:25Speaker 4: to have the final say. So let's go to him
- 6:27Speaker 4: and give him his praise today. Their Heavenly Father, thank
- 6:31Speaker 4: you for bringing us here today, as you do each
- 6:33Speaker 4: and every time we're supposed to be on assignment that
- 6:36Speaker 4: you have for us. If it is not for you,
- 6:39Speaker 4: it is no purpose for us to do it, because
- 6:41Speaker 4: you get all the glory and everything that we do.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Let the words of each one of these individuals' mouths
- 6:47Speaker 4: reach the ears that need to hear. Let this be
- 6:50Speaker 4: a moment for whoever is out there struggling with a
- 6:54Speaker 4: situation that they don't know who to give it to.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Let them know that they can come to you and
- 6:59Speaker 4: you can figure everything out that is necessary for them.
- 7:03Speaker 4: We know that it is all because of You that
- 7:06Speaker 4: everything that we have and everything that we go through
- 7:09Speaker 4: leads us to be able to share the testimony of
- 7:12Speaker 4: our lives with others. So there's nothing that anyone needs
- 7:15Speaker 4: to be ashamed of because it is all part of
- 7:18Speaker 4: the greater plan that you have for us, and your
- 7:21Speaker 4: precious and holy name, Jesus, I pray amen. There are
- 7:26Speaker 4: gonna be five amazing women that are gonna come up
- 7:30Speaker 4: and share with you. The first one we're gonna talk about,
- 7:33Speaker 4: of course, is healing, because heart starts with age, and
- 7:37Speaker 4: the focus of that is gonna be how we men
- 7:40Speaker 4: our relationships through to the emotional wounds that we've had
- 7:45Speaker 4: in life. The next one is gonna be empowerment and Shannard,
- 7:51Speaker 4: how much I don't want to miss up this name
- 7:53Speaker 4: because mine is hard enough a scenario. Okay, there we go.
- 8:00Speaker 5: See it ain't no a on my paper.
- 8:01Speaker 4: But that's okay. Forgive me, baby, It's okay. I'm gonna
- 8:05Speaker 4: get it right now. I might say it again and
- 8:07Speaker 4: it might be wrong again, but don't.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Charge to Mahart.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Okay, she's gonna talk to us about empowerment, because if
- 8:14Speaker 4: you have a group of people that are around you,
- 8:16Speaker 4: make sure that they are speaking life into you and
- 8:19Speaker 4: they're not depleting your cup. Because if you got people
- 8:23Speaker 4: that are around you that are always taking from your cup,
- 8:28Speaker 4: and also if you're allowing them to take from your cup,
- 8:30Speaker 4: make sure that you are surrounded by people that are
- 8:32Speaker 4: gonna continuously put into you so you're never.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Empty or you're depleted. Alignment.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Make sure that you are in alignment with what you
- 8:41Speaker 4: have going on. And that is gonna be miss Apostle,
- 8:44Speaker 4: doctor Kimberly Thomas. Who's gonna speak to us about alignment. Resilience.
- 8:49Speaker 5: It may be Miss.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Alma Thomas, but if not, y'all will have me because
- 8:53Speaker 4: I got some stories about some resilience.
- 8:55Speaker 5: That I can tell you about.
- 8:56Speaker 4: And say that again. Oh okay, And last but not least,
- 9:08Speaker 4: Miss Black Diamond is gonna talk to us about trauma.
- 9:10Speaker 5: No more.
- 9:11Speaker 4: So, you got some really good women that are gonna
- 9:14Speaker 4: come in here and make sure that you got that
- 9:17Speaker 4: pen in that paper, Okay, because you don't want to
- 9:20Speaker 4: miss this stuff. You're gonna need to carry this on,
- 9:22Speaker 4: which so today is just the beginning. Somebody needs to
- 9:25Speaker 4: start that healing journey, but they don't even know where
- 9:28Speaker 4: to start. Here is your leeway to getting to where
- 9:32Speaker 4: you need to go. All right, I'm gonna move out
- 9:34Speaker 4: the way and mission that Johnson is gonna speak to
- 9:37Speaker 4: you about healing.
- 10:11Speaker 1: That's why I speak.
- 10:12Speaker 6: Tea Well, good morning. I am Shenette Johnson, and I'm
- 10:24Speaker 6: here to talk to you on healing.
- 10:27Speaker 1: What are you healing from?
- 10:31Speaker 6: You can be healing from relationship, a bad marriage, losing
- 10:43Speaker 6: a lot, but it's a number of things you can
- 10:47Speaker 6: be healing from my healing. I am currently healing from
- 10:57Speaker 6: the transitioning of my son. I don't like the word
- 11:02Speaker 6: lost because I didn't lose anything.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So the word heard from my notes.
- 11:14Speaker 6: The word healings mean to process the process of making
- 11:22Speaker 6: or becoming sound or healthy again when you're going through
- 11:29Speaker 6: grief or whatever you're I I was unhealthy at the time. Yeah,
- 11:45Speaker 6: your mind is cluttered, so you it's hard for you
- 11:52Speaker 6: to really focus and concentrate, so table.
- 12:03Speaker 1: And everything.
- 12:04Speaker 6: I'm speaking from my aspect because that's what I was experienced.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I was emotional. I pushed people away and.
- 12:19Speaker 6: All of them things was very freak dangerous, very dangerous.
- 12:28Speaker 1: It's dangerous.
- 12:31Speaker 6: It's because because when you push people away.
- 12:42Speaker 1: And you iic people, the thoughts in your head that's
- 12:48Speaker 1: all you have.
- 12:51Speaker 6: And the thoughts that come in your head are thoughts
- 12:55Speaker 6: like suicidal. Because I went through that phase of suicidal
- 13:01Speaker 6: because I put myself by myself. I first, I didn't
- 13:10Speaker 6: allow myself to feel the pain because I didn't want
- 13:14Speaker 6: to feel it. But you know, God had place women
- 13:30Speaker 6: around me. I used my prayers, Use God, please remove
- 13:41Speaker 6: people away.
- 13:41Speaker 1: From He was going to ask.
- 13:48Speaker 6: Answer my prayer and I didn't know how it was
- 13:52Speaker 6: going to be answered, and it was answered through the trend,
- 13:56Speaker 6: the tr transitioning. During this time, I had met some
- 14:06Speaker 6: amazing women. I tried to push them away, but God
- 14:12Speaker 6: wouldn't let me pushed them away. The ones that I
- 14:16Speaker 6: did push away, it was the reason why they they
- 14:21Speaker 6: didn't come back. Know your circle, you have to fight
- 14:43Speaker 6: to get yourself back. So that's why I said, don't
- 14:52Speaker 6: isolate yourself because it's a struggle. I'm struggling. I struggle.
- 14:58Speaker 6: I'm not gonna say that I'm still struggling because I'm
- 15:01Speaker 6: not I I struggled to get back to work.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I was because.
- 15:10Speaker 6: What I did to myself mentally and physically.
- 15:16Speaker 1: And I regretted to who God put in my life.
- 15:24Speaker 6: If I could have, if I would have just paid
- 15:26Speaker 6: attention to what they was telling me, then I would
- 15:33Speaker 6: have been all right.
- 15:35Speaker 1: But I was.
- 15:40Speaker 6: I'm gonna just say it like this. I was being
- 15:42Speaker 6: selfish because because and I wasn't ready to accept the
- 15:49Speaker 6: transitioning of my son. That was the hardest part for me.
- 16:06Speaker 6: But now you have to get to a place when
- 16:21Speaker 6: you are ready to accept and let go, when you're
- 16:32Speaker 6: ready to heal.
- 16:36Speaker 1: You have to stop with me.
- 16:41Speaker 6: I followed these this group on Facebook, Mothers of Grieving Children,
- 16:51Speaker 6: and that was my downfall as well. I had to
- 16:56Speaker 6: stop entertaining that group. You had to all so watch
- 17:00Speaker 6: what you entertain. You have to watch what you listen
- 17:07Speaker 6: to and who you listen to. You have to stay
- 17:18Speaker 6: on your knees, and you have to pray to God.
- 17:21Speaker 6: You have to declutter your brain. I hope I'm making
- 17:28Speaker 6: sensus on when I know I'm kind of all over.
- 17:31Speaker 6: I'm trying to listen to what God is telling me
- 17:34Speaker 6: and trying to listen and trying to read my notes.
- 17:38Speaker 6: But all I can just hear him saying is you
- 17:43Speaker 6: have to free yourself, free your mind and let him
- 17:52Speaker 6: lead you. You have to trust in him.
- 17:54Speaker 1: You have to lead on him.
- 18:03Speaker 6: The reason why you see keeping me with this hat
- 18:07Speaker 6: on is I'm under construction. I'm under construction. God's working
- 18:19Speaker 6: with me. He's dealing with me. I'm ready to hear.
- 18:52Speaker 6: So I'm under construction. It's okay too. Reinvented you in
- 19:02Speaker 6: the Bible.
- 19:05Speaker 1: God reinvented a lot. Mhm.
- 19:11Speaker 6: He changed changed their names. So you get you Bible scripture.
- 19:21Speaker 6: Get you a Bible, get you a scripture. My scripture
- 19:31Speaker 6: was Comes twenty eight and seven.
- 19:35Speaker 7: Mhm.
- 19:41Speaker 1: The Lord is stret and.
- 19:42Speaker 6: Every time I got weak, I called out to him.
- 19:49Speaker 8: Yahm you have to m hm hm.
- 19:55Speaker 6: God, don't stay in the that you don't want to be.
- 20:02Speaker 6: You know, I was told to honor my son, and
- 20:07Speaker 6: I'm going to tell someone to.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Honor your loved one.
- 20:10Speaker 6: Whatever you're going through, reinvent yourself. If it's a marriage.
- 20:22Speaker 6: I heard that person. I'm honoring myself. I'm going back
- 20:27Speaker 6: to school, and I'm under construction.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I'm reinventing myself. I don't want to look like the year.
- 20:46Speaker 6: I want God to polish me up. I want him
- 20:50Speaker 6: to use because my grandson is having a hard time.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Now that I'm healing, I have to go here. I
- 21:04Speaker 6: have to help my daughters get through here, get through that. Yes,
- 21:15Speaker 6: I hope I'm making it, says, I hope someone is
- 21:20Speaker 6: getting something, getting a little out of this. It's all
- 21:29Speaker 6: right to feel. Let yourself feel the pain, feel it.
- 21:38Speaker 6: It's okay. But don't stay there. Don't son go. I
- 21:46Speaker 6: refuse to let him go. Don't stay there, don't do
- 21:54Speaker 6: what I do did. Don't breathe too long, don't stay there.
- 22:01Speaker 6: That's my advice. Do not stay in that place. Do
- 22:06Speaker 6: not hold on to that pain. Let that pain go,
- 22:10Speaker 6: and you live.
- 22:13Speaker 1: You have other people that's watching you. You live.
- 22:24Speaker 6: You live, that's what you do, and you honor them
- 22:32Speaker 6: when you cook and their favorite meal. You think whatever
- 22:38Speaker 6: they what they may have said to you, and you laugh.
- 22:50Speaker 6: Don't stay in that place where I honor them and
- 23:03Speaker 6: stopped looking in the rear view.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Relationship you wasn't supposed to be in that reason, relations relationship.
- 23:16Speaker 6: Build and learned from your restate states and don't go back.
- 23:25Speaker 6: And that wasn't meant for you, He wasn't meant from you,
- 23:32Speaker 6: that wasn't who God had.
- 23:59Speaker 4: HM.
- 24:00Speaker 1: So I guess.
- 24:03Speaker 6: And my last thing is because I see my time
- 24:06Speaker 6: is up, It's almost up.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I just want to leave you with with this.
- 24:24Speaker 6: When she encouraged me to get out, just get out
- 24:46Speaker 6: and walk. Get you a good book, read you a
- 24:50Speaker 6: good book, get a round, get around family members, get
- 24:58Speaker 6: around friends. Most importantly, love yourself, Love yourself, Charita.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Unmute myself, mentionette.
- 25:28Speaker 4: I want to thank you so much for sharing your
- 25:31Speaker 4: vulnerability about your journey with the transitioning of your son.
- 25:36Speaker 4: That's not an easy space to speak from or speak about,
- 25:41Speaker 4: and healing definitely is a place of where you have
- 25:48Speaker 4: to truly be vulnerable with yourself and make sure that
- 25:52Speaker 4: you do have the right people around you.
- 25:54Speaker 5: And when you're going through something.
- 25:57Speaker 4: As serious as a transition of a loss of a
- 26:01Speaker 4: loved one, the grieving process never stops. You know, it's
- 26:06Speaker 4: a moment by moment adjustment through life. So it never
- 26:10Speaker 4: really and truly like people will say that time heals
- 26:13Speaker 4: all wounds, and I just I truly don't believe that
- 26:17Speaker 4: when it comes to the loss of a family member,
- 26:20Speaker 4: because it's not a.
- 26:24Speaker 5: It's not a.
- 26:24Speaker 4: Void that can be refilled, you know. It's love that
- 26:27Speaker 4: you have for a person that they're no longer here
- 26:31Speaker 4: to feel it in the physical sense, but you think
- 26:34Speaker 4: of them daily, so you learn to adjust each moment
- 26:38Speaker 4: that you go through life.
- 26:39Speaker 5: It's an adjustment.
- 26:41Speaker 4: So I just I want to tell you how proud
- 26:44Speaker 4: I am of your journey through your healing process. You
- 26:49Speaker 4: may not see it, you may not even understand that.
- 26:55Speaker 4: You probably were in a very dark space when you
- 26:58Speaker 4: first came into the Crew family. But you've got some
- 27:02Speaker 4: sisters around you that have been praying with you and
- 27:05Speaker 4: for you throughout this journey because you have a tremendous
- 27:09Speaker 4: amount of strength that's within you, and for you to
- 27:12Speaker 4: share that vulnerable side took a lot of strength, and
- 27:16Speaker 4: it took a lot of courage, and not a lot
- 27:18Speaker 4: of people are willing to do that. So I want
- 27:20Speaker 4: to say thank you for that today.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Are willing to do that.
- 27:28Speaker 5: So I want to say thank you for that today.
- 27:31Speaker 6: You're welcome, you know, Treeda. And I also just want
- 27:34Speaker 6: to thank you because I draw some of your strength too.
- 27:40Speaker 6: And Angel, let's say you know Treda is the.
- 27:44Speaker 1: She's sure not.
- 27:46Speaker 6: I was like, nah, she looked tall. And then when
- 27:49Speaker 6: you say you short, then you know I see the picture.
- 27:52Speaker 6: I like, yeah, she is awful voice. Yeah, God put me,
- 27:58Speaker 6: and I thank you God.
- 28:07Speaker 4: God made me very compact inside, but to be big
- 28:11Speaker 4: in spirit.
- 28:12Speaker 5: So I tell people I may only be for me
- 28:17Speaker 5: in spirit, you know, So I may only be.
- 28:26Speaker 1: You know.
- 28:27Speaker 9: It's so.
- 28:32Speaker 4: But I love you and I thank you for sharing
- 28:36Speaker 4: what you shared with us. But you guys, I'm gonna
- 28:48Speaker 4: try to keep talking without this echo, but it confuses.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Me just a little bit.
- 28:52Speaker 4: I ain't gonna lie to you. But as I said,
- 28:56Speaker 4: we're gonna have some jokes. We're gonna have some good times.
- 28:58Speaker 4: And I want you to understand that that through life,
- 29:01Speaker 4: it's gonna be tough because we don't talk about the.
- 29:07Speaker 5: End cycle of life.
- 29:08Speaker 4: We go through life and we tell everybody you gotta live,
- 29:12Speaker 4: but nobody talks about death until we're faced with it.
- 29:15Speaker 5: And it's the beautiful lie of life that we.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Don't talk about. And to live is to also die.
- 29:24Speaker 4: And as I was saying not too long ago in
- 29:26Speaker 4: an interview that I was doing with Miss Angela, and
- 29:30Speaker 4: it was the we live. It is a puzzle piece.
- 29:33Speaker 4: Our life is a truly is a puzzle. We don't
- 29:36Speaker 4: see that final piece of our puzzle. We see everything
- 29:40Speaker 4: from birth. We know our birthday, but we don't know
- 29:43Speaker 4: that day that God has for us to come home.
- 29:45Speaker 4: So everything that you do in the midst of completing
- 29:49Speaker 4: your puzzle, that final piece you won't see. So make
- 29:55Speaker 4: sure that what you're doing and the people that you
- 29:57Speaker 4: have around you will know to share. Even in your
- 30:01Speaker 4: final peace, the life that you live was one of
- 30:04Speaker 4: service and one to give and not to be so selfish,
- 30:08Speaker 4: and the things that God has given you, you know,
- 30:12Speaker 4: it's just one of those things. The next speaker that
- 30:15Speaker 4: we're gonna have coming up is Missionaria Osborne and she's
- 30:18Speaker 4: gonna talk to us about empowerment. So I'm gonna get
- 30:22Speaker 4: out of the way and I'm gonna let her come
- 30:24Speaker 4: up and talk to us about empowerment. Thank you guys,
- 30:32Speaker 4: Hello everyone. First of all, I want to just thank
- 30:37Speaker 4: God for allowing us to be here this morning. He
- 30:41Speaker 4: gave us another chance, another chance to get it right
- 30:45Speaker 4: with him, So I just want to glorify Him in
- 30:48Speaker 4: the midst of us being on this platform, this morning. Yes,
- 30:54Speaker 4: I want to talk about empowerment and I want to
- 30:56Speaker 4: tell people what do empowerment me. It's more like people
- 31:03Speaker 4: having power and control over their own lives. I can
- 31:07Speaker 4: tell with moments that I felt like I didn't have
- 31:11Speaker 4: empowerment over my own life because I will always listen
- 31:16Speaker 4: to other people, I will always get guidance from other people.
- 31:23Speaker 4: But once I learned to get closer to God and
- 31:28Speaker 4: really a lie on God to use me really showed
- 31:31Speaker 4: me about empowerment. So I just tell people, don't wait
- 31:38Speaker 4: forever for the best moment. Don't wait because waiting may
- 31:44Speaker 4: never come. So get on board now. If you feel
- 31:47Speaker 4: it in your spirit, if you feel you want to
- 31:52Speaker 4: do something, do it. Don't wait for years to try
- 31:57Speaker 4: to do something. So I learned that also, and I
- 32:00Speaker 4: know that you know empowerment you know can face challenges,
- 32:06Speaker 4: it can it can come with confident and you just
- 32:10Speaker 4: have to really just know that you got the strength,
- 32:14Speaker 4: you got the courage to overcome any obstacles. And I
- 32:19Speaker 4: tell that to my kids. I have to not only
- 32:21Speaker 4: speak that for myself, but I have to tell my
- 32:24Speaker 4: children that. I have to tell my daughters who's living,
- 32:27Speaker 4: you know, in the world now that they on their own,
- 32:30Speaker 4: they got their own place. My baby girl have her
- 32:34Speaker 4: own daughter now, So I have to encourage my daughters.
- 32:40Speaker 4: You know, you're beautiful, you can do anything you want
- 32:44Speaker 4: to be. You could be anything. Don't never allow anybody
- 32:48Speaker 4: to hold you back from your dreams and your success.
- 32:51Speaker 4: You know, you may watch your mama went down some
- 32:55Speaker 4: wrong path because I haven't. I I'm not a perfect person.
- 32:58Speaker 4: I done been through some things in my life. But
- 33:00Speaker 4: I tell them all the time, don't never follow in
- 33:03Speaker 4: my footsteps. But I learned that if I can change
- 33:07Speaker 4: things now and allow my kids, my daughters and my
- 33:10Speaker 4: son to watch me go on a good path or
- 33:14Speaker 4: empowerment path, that is so important to me. That's the
- 33:19Speaker 4: most important things is for my children to see me
- 33:23Speaker 4: walk the right path. Not only my children, but my grandchildren.
- 33:28Speaker 4: So I just tell people, increase your empowerment, set goals,
- 33:34Speaker 4: practice self care, develop a strong community because when you
- 33:41Speaker 4: when you practice self care, it tells a lot about yourself,
- 33:45Speaker 4: your character and who you are. So I just tell people,
- 33:50Speaker 4: you know, be confident in what you do and just
- 33:55Speaker 4: you know, just overcome limitations like sometimes you have to,
- 33:59Speaker 4: you know, even though it may be hard. Sometimes I've
- 34:02Speaker 4: been there and I know what it feels like. But
- 34:04Speaker 4: you got to let those things go and walk in
- 34:07Speaker 4: the path of what God wants you to walk in,
- 34:09Speaker 4: because that is so important to be just to be
- 34:14Speaker 4: in empowerment. Empowerment is just so powerful to me because
- 34:18Speaker 4: you know, God give us the power within. He live
- 34:22Speaker 4: in us, He will live with us every day. So
- 34:25Speaker 4: He give us the power to be able to be
- 34:27Speaker 4: anything we want. And that's why I tell people, be
- 34:31Speaker 4: careful what you say out of your mouth. Be careful
- 34:33Speaker 4: because the tongue can speak life and it can speak there.
- 34:37Speaker 4: So I tell my like I said, I go back again.
- 34:41Speaker 4: It's a journey for me and my children because I
- 34:44Speaker 4: want my kids to watch me, watch me and watch
- 34:50Speaker 4: how God is guiding me and took me from my
- 34:53Speaker 4: past and to where I'm at today. You know, because
- 34:56Speaker 4: my kids don't seem they don't you know, they don't
- 34:58Speaker 4: seen them some struggles with the mama. They don't seem
- 35:01Speaker 4: times where the lights was off and they kept it
- 35:04Speaker 4: quiet for a whole week, but we made it through.
- 35:07Speaker 4: And so my kids know they've been through the struggles
- 35:11Speaker 4: with me. They seen the crying days, they seen the
- 35:15Speaker 4: praying days when when I wasn't in a prayer line,
- 35:19Speaker 4: when I wasn't around people who who was spiritual and
- 35:24Speaker 4: who was you know, can help guide me through the
- 35:27Speaker 4: path that I'm on today. So I just tell everybody like,
- 35:32Speaker 4: know your strength, know your courage, be in power, face
- 35:37Speaker 4: the challenges because they gonna come no matter what. No
- 35:41Speaker 4: matter what we go through in life, you're gonna have
- 35:43Speaker 4: some challenges. And not every day is a good day,
- 35:46Speaker 4: and not every day is a bad day. But if
- 35:49Speaker 4: we trust God, set goals, practice self care and develop
- 35:53Speaker 4: strown communities and love and shoulder and power up how
- 35:59Speaker 4: power for God is in your life and you walk
- 36:02Speaker 4: every day and thinking knowing that God is good because
- 36:07Speaker 4: if you trust God, he gonna definitely give you the
- 36:10Speaker 4: opportunity to move forward that God would even when even
- 36:14Speaker 4: where you sometimes have in your mind that things ain't right,
- 36:18Speaker 4: the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will warn you it's okay,
- 36:24Speaker 4: it's okay to feel that way, but keep going food,
- 36:28Speaker 4: don't ever give up. And I tell people in power,
- 36:34Speaker 4: know the strength, but first of all, put God first,
- 36:37Speaker 4: because you can't do nothing really without God. So by
- 36:40Speaker 4: putting God first every day, trust and believe me, God
- 36:44Speaker 4: gonna guide you in every areas of your life, no
- 36:47Speaker 4: matter even if you're going the wrong way, the Holy
- 36:49Speaker 4: Spirit gonna tell huh uh ah, come on back. You
- 36:54Speaker 4: know you're wrong. You know you're wrong. So the Holy
- 36:56Speaker 4: Spirit gonna guide us, and he gonnat. I know it
- 37:00Speaker 4: ain't nothing nobody told me. Is what I know. And
- 37:02Speaker 4: I'm speaking for my own life. So I just tell people,
- 37:07Speaker 4: trust the abilities, trust your process because God is good
- 37:12Speaker 4: and God will guide you. He will show you, and
- 37:14Speaker 4: he will do all great things for you. And even
- 37:18Speaker 4: though that I know sometimes that we may have feel
- 37:24Speaker 4: like you know what, I failed myself, or I fail
- 37:27Speaker 4: my children, or I feel people around me. But like
- 37:31Speaker 4: I say, when you trust God, when you trust him,
- 37:35Speaker 4: when you show him who you are, When when you
- 37:38Speaker 4: show him God, Lord, forgive me, Lord, show me, guide
- 37:42Speaker 4: me in the day that you created. Because we don't
- 37:44Speaker 4: know what tomorrow holds, None of us know. But if
- 37:48Speaker 4: we ask God to guide us in the day that
- 37:51Speaker 4: he opened our eyes up and have us to give
- 37:55Speaker 4: us the understanding, the wisdom to know, and the love
- 38:00Speaker 4: to carry on that day He created for us. Baby,
- 38:04Speaker 4: I learned that God, and people ask me a word,
- 38:06Speaker 4: why you're always happy, You're always happy, But they don't
- 38:09Speaker 4: know what I done went through at the house. You
- 38:11Speaker 4: know why, because I own that prayer line. I pray
- 38:14Speaker 4: every morning and that will give me the strength that
- 38:17Speaker 4: I need. You know what, sad for? What being sad for?
- 38:22Speaker 4: What that's all it's gonna do is give you more
- 38:25Speaker 4: health problems, more issues when you could just be happy.
- 38:30Speaker 4: Just be happy no matter what, even if you feel
- 38:33Speaker 4: like you said, be happy, be happy in strength, be
- 38:37Speaker 4: happy and the love that God gave you, because He
- 38:40Speaker 4: gave us all another chance, another chance to get it right.
- 38:44Speaker 4: So I just tell people, be in power. Know who
- 38:48Speaker 4: you are first of all, know who you are in Christ.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Because if you know your way and you know who
- 38:54Speaker 4: God is, he gonna got you. He gonna give you
- 38:58Speaker 4: everything that you need. He gonna He's just so good.
- 39:02Speaker 4: I'm sorry, y'all. I talk about God because I know
- 39:06Speaker 4: what God had brought me from. I know what the
- 39:10Speaker 4: last five years, even being on the prayer line. I
- 39:14Speaker 4: know we shouldn't be talking about the prayer line in
- 39:16Speaker 4: this movie, but just even being on the prayer line
- 39:19Speaker 4: every day for five years, when I tell you, it's
- 39:23Speaker 4: been awesome, It's been awesome. So I even tell people,
- 39:27Speaker 4: come on over and join our prayer line. Come on
- 39:30Speaker 4: over and see what God gonna do. Because God gonna
- 39:33Speaker 4: open up some doors. He may close them, and it
- 39:36Speaker 4: may be some doors like, oh Lord, please don't close
- 39:38Speaker 4: that door. I ain't ready for that. But when it's
- 39:41Speaker 4: God time, when it's on God's time, God know what
- 39:44Speaker 4: he's doing. He know what he's doing. Oh Jesus, I'll listen.
- 39:49Speaker 4: I'm about to have the Holy ghost this morning. But
- 39:50Speaker 4: I just I just tell people. I just tell people,
- 39:55Speaker 4: don't wait forever. Don't wait forever for the best moment.
- 40:01Speaker 4: Do it when God opened your eyes up, I'm telling you.
- 40:05Speaker 4: And I can go back to Angela and and my
- 40:11Speaker 4: husband they I'm gonna tell y'all little story right quick.
- 40:16Speaker 4: I me and my husband went to Miami one weekend
- 40:20Speaker 4: for a book tour and I'm sitting around at the
- 40:26Speaker 4: table with other people that was authors, my husband and everybody,
- 40:31Speaker 4: and I kind of felt a little off because everybody
- 40:36Speaker 4: in the room was authors, and I was like okay,
- 40:40Speaker 4: And my husband ended up saying something something to me
- 40:43Speaker 4: that hurted my feelings, and I end up I walked off.
- 40:50Speaker 4: Sometimes you gotta walk off now. So I ended up
- 40:53Speaker 4: walking off and I went back to the hotel room
- 40:55Speaker 4: to kind of like go talk to God. And God said,
- 41:00Speaker 4: you go back down there, You go back down there.
- 41:04Speaker 4: It's a purpose, it's a purpose and everything. And I
- 41:08Speaker 4: went back down there and I sopped that down there,
- 41:11Speaker 4: and God said, forgive him, you know, forgiven. But he
- 41:15Speaker 4: said it because it was something that I wanted you
- 41:18Speaker 4: to hear. So that's why I tell people that people
- 41:22Speaker 4: been coming to me to write a book and do
- 41:24Speaker 4: a book. But when I say, when it's on God's time.
- 41:27Speaker 4: And God put me around so many people, everybody authors,
- 41:32Speaker 4: and put me around people who are doing great things.
- 41:35Speaker 4: But God had to prepare me. He had to. He
- 41:38Speaker 4: wanted me to watch everything around me. And like you say,
- 41:42Speaker 4: you have to be careful who you around too, because
- 41:44Speaker 4: you know, everybody ain't funny. You know, everybody don't love
- 41:48Speaker 4: what you do. I don't care who it is, family, friends,
- 41:52Speaker 4: sometimes your chuldren, you know, sometimes your husband, wife, It
- 41:56Speaker 4: don't matter who it is, you know, but you got
- 41:59Speaker 4: to have that connection with God, and God will guide
- 42:02Speaker 4: you and he will show you how to deal with
- 42:04Speaker 4: everybody around you. He will show you so I just
- 42:08Speaker 4: tell people, hold on, trust God, trust the movement, trust
- 42:13Speaker 4: the process, because it's gonna be days when it gets hard.
- 42:18Speaker 4: It's gonna be days when it's good days. But all
- 42:21Speaker 4: days is still God. No matter what you're facing life,
- 42:25Speaker 4: God is still good. He's still able, he's still loving,
- 42:29Speaker 4: He's still gonna show you how to God through this
- 42:32Speaker 4: world were living in. I just tell people trust God.
- 42:36Speaker 4: He love you, He loved me, and I love you
- 42:39Speaker 4: guys no matter what. I just thank you'all for allowing
- 42:43Speaker 4: me to be on this platform because it is other
- 42:46Speaker 4: women like me that's scared to talk about certain things.
- 42:51Speaker 4: And it is other women on my path, you know,
- 42:56Speaker 4: going through so much, going through so much, don't know
- 42:59Speaker 4: that self worth, don't know their self value, don't know
- 43:03Speaker 4: how to practice self care, you know. So I tell people,
- 43:07Speaker 4: know who you are, but first of all, know who
- 43:10Speaker 4: you are in Christ. Because when you trust God, trust them.
- 43:16Speaker 4: And I tell you, if he can do it for me,
- 43:19Speaker 4: he can do it for anybody else. God is so good.
- 43:22Speaker 4: I love you, guys, and thank y'all for having me here.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Thank you Miss Harris for hosting it, and everyone on
- 43:29Speaker 4: this platform. I love you, and keep on pushing because
- 43:33Speaker 4: y'all beautiful and God is using you for his purpose.
- 43:37Speaker 4: In Jesus' name, Amen, listen, I want to thank you
- 43:42Speaker 4: for that, and I want to say something about that
- 43:46Speaker 4: that little thing that you said.
- 43:48Speaker 5: That you got mad at your husband.
- 43:49Speaker 4: God already knew why you needed to be in that
- 43:52Speaker 4: room and why you need it to be in that space.
- 43:54Speaker 4: He had to sit you in that room, in that
- 43:57Speaker 4: space for you to see where He was about to
- 43:59Speaker 4: take you. We don't always understand what God is doing,
- 44:03Speaker 4: and it never makes sense to us when he's doing something,
- 44:06Speaker 4: because it's been plenty of times that I know. I'm like, God,
- 44:09Speaker 4: look here, I don't know why you got me even
- 44:12Speaker 4: over here. I don't know nothing about this, but you
- 44:15Speaker 4: got me in this space. So I'm gonna do what
- 44:17Speaker 4: you said do. I'm gonna question you, and you know
- 44:19Speaker 4: I'm a question. You got this how I talked to God.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Look here, sir, I don't think I'm supposed to be
- 44:25Speaker 4: on the street right now, but you said I need
- 44:27Speaker 4: to take a left right here, and I'm gonna take
- 44:29Speaker 4: this left, but I don't know where I'm going. You know,
- 44:32Speaker 4: God is the GPS of our lives, and sometimes we
- 44:36Speaker 4: try to reroute with that free will that we have,
- 44:39Speaker 4: and we reroute and God be like, Okay, I'm gonna
- 44:42Speaker 4: let you gonna die here, but I guarantee you gonna
- 44:45Speaker 4: end up at the destination in which I had for
- 44:47Speaker 4: you in the first place, because you're gonna have to
- 44:49Speaker 4: take that detour right back where I told you. So
- 44:53Speaker 4: God is perfect in his timing. It's us who are
- 44:56Speaker 4: hard headed and don't ever want to do what he
- 44:58Speaker 4: said do the first time because we we kids, we
- 45:01Speaker 4: His kids. We know who we His kids, and we
- 45:03Speaker 4: hard headed. But when we do what God tells us
- 45:05Speaker 4: to do, we always end up right where we're supposed
- 45:08Speaker 4: to be when we're supposed to be there. Like today,
- 45:11Speaker 4: I'm supposed to be here now. As I said in
- 45:14Speaker 4: the beginning, she asked me the host, and I'm like, okay, Lord,
- 45:18Speaker 4: I know I had a prayer, but that was a
- 45:20Speaker 4: private conversation and here she come asking me to do something.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Now I'm gonna agree to do it because this is
- 45:26Speaker 4: my big sister, and she she ain't never steerd me wrong.
- 45:29Speaker 4: And you know, I'm gonna always be like you, won't
- 45:33Speaker 4: you see something in me I ain't seen yet? But
- 45:35Speaker 4: you and God already had a conversation, I know. So
- 45:37Speaker 4: that's why you know what, I'm just gone ahead and
- 45:39Speaker 4: do it. So that's how I end up in spaces
- 45:42Speaker 4: and places like this because it was a prayer that
- 45:45Speaker 4: I also prayed in twenty twenty, and that was God,
- 45:48Speaker 4: connect me to the people that are connected to the
- 45:50Speaker 4: destiny and what you have for me. And when I
- 45:52Speaker 4: tell you, since twenty twenty, I have been in more places,
- 45:55Speaker 4: in spaces that I only dreamed about. You know, because
- 45:59Speaker 4: as a kid growing up, people will say that I
- 46:02Speaker 4: wasn't good enough, but God already told me I was enough.
- 46:05Speaker 4: I was more than enough. So I'm getting used to
- 46:08Speaker 4: being what God has called me to be. Now, I
- 46:11Speaker 4: tell you, I still run. Sometimes my legs ain't long
- 46:14Speaker 4: enough to outrun him, but I still try. But he
- 46:18Speaker 4: always win. So you know, but God is the head
- 46:22Speaker 4: of everything that we do. And if you do not
- 46:25Speaker 4: acknowledge Him or keep Him included in what it is
- 46:27Speaker 4: that you got going on, trust and believe you gonna
- 46:30Speaker 4: have more hardships than anything. So know that God is
- 46:34Speaker 4: God all by himself. And one thing that I will say,
- 46:38Speaker 4: and I always say this, and that is stay out
- 46:40Speaker 4: of God's business. The only thing he needs you to
- 46:43Speaker 4: do is be obedient to what He has called you
- 46:46Speaker 4: to do. After that, you know what you are doing.
- 46:49Speaker 4: You are walking in the purpose and the destiny that
- 46:51Speaker 4: God has created for you because He did not make
- 46:53Speaker 4: any mistakes when he created you. So I thank you
- 46:58Speaker 4: for you and your story, your journey. Because God isn't
- 47:03Speaker 4: through with you. He still has a lot more for
- 47:05Speaker 4: you to do. But when you are able to tell
- 47:08Speaker 4: your story and not being ashamed of what you went through,
- 47:12Speaker 4: somebody else is blessed by your testimony. We are sometimes
- 47:16Speaker 4: shamed about what it is that we've gone through because
- 47:19Speaker 4: we don't want nobody to judge us. But listen, this
- 47:22Speaker 4: is what I told my little sister. They talked about God,
- 47:25Speaker 4: but that never stopped God from doing what he was
- 47:28Speaker 4: put on this earth to do. So as long as
- 47:30Speaker 4: they talking, baby, keep walking, all right. But I thank you,
- 47:34Speaker 4: and y'all listen, we got some more speakers that are
- 47:37Speaker 4: gonna come up. If I get to talking about God,
- 47:39Speaker 4: We're gonna be here all day because I know what
- 47:41Speaker 4: He's done for me, So you're gonna get some more.
- 47:45Speaker 4: We got plenty more of these people that got more stories,
- 47:50Speaker 4: more journeys, more everything. God is an amazing person. If
- 47:55Speaker 4: you have not gotten to know God on a personal level,
- 48:00Speaker 4: not letting somebody tell you, hey, you need to do this,
- 48:03Speaker 4: and you need to do this, because God said, if
- 48:06Speaker 4: God ain't had a personal conversation with you and you
- 48:08Speaker 4: ain't got to talk to him on that one on
- 48:10Speaker 4: one level, babe, you ain't talk to God yet you
- 48:12Speaker 4: talking to other people. Get to know God for yourself
- 48:15Speaker 4: because when God moves in your life, you will know
- 48:18Speaker 4: that it was only God because there have been so
- 48:21Speaker 4: many doors that have closed because God said it was
- 48:24Speaker 4: time for you to move. And when you don't move
- 48:26Speaker 4: on God's time and trust and believe that turmoll that
- 48:31Speaker 4: you're going through, it will continue until you acknowledge God
- 48:35Speaker 4: in your life. God moves for us when we get
- 48:39Speaker 4: to know Him for ourselves. The next person that we
- 48:43Speaker 4: have that is going to be coming up and talking
- 48:45Speaker 4: to us is going to be apostle doctor Kimberly Thomas,
- 48:49Speaker 4: and she's gonna talk to us about alignment. Now, listen,
- 48:53Speaker 4: you can be out of alignment going through thinking, you
- 48:57Speaker 4: doing what you're supposed to do, because that's your little
- 48:59Speaker 4: free you think you know what you're doing.
- 49:02Speaker 5: List let me tell you. When your cause is out
- 49:06Speaker 5: of alignment, which way to it go?
- 49:07Speaker 4: It go the wrong way. When you're out of alignment
- 49:10Speaker 4: with God, you're going the wrong way. When you're doing
- 49:12Speaker 4: what God has called you to do. Baby, you right
- 49:14Speaker 4: on alignment where you're supposed to be going, when you're
- 49:17Speaker 4: supposed to be going, And it doesn't matter what nobody
- 49:19Speaker 4: else say. Okay, so now I'm gonna get on out
- 49:22Speaker 4: the way, and I'm a limit apostle. Doctor Kimberly Thomas,
- 49:26Speaker 4: come on up here and talk to us. I'm gonna
- 49:27Speaker 4: sit out. Good morning, Good morning, and to God be
- 49:44Speaker 4: the glory. I am truly blessed to be here this morning,
- 49:49Speaker 4: thanking God for this opportunity to come to your front
- 49:53Speaker 4: this morning to talk about alignment. And these women are God.
- 49:56Speaker 4: They are truly on fire this morning. I've gotten stirred
- 49:59Speaker 4: up already listening to them as they have come forth
- 50:03Speaker 4: to bring forth what God had to say concerning our
- 50:07Speaker 4: healing and our being empowered. So I'm coming to you
- 50:11Speaker 4: this morning to talk about alignment and being in aligned
- 50:16Speaker 4: with God and one thing that I like to deal
- 50:20Speaker 4: with definition. So I want to go forth with the
- 50:22Speaker 4: definition of a line, which means to place or arrange
- 50:26Speaker 4: things in a straight line. And in accordance to the
- 50:30Speaker 4: word of God, we have to be in alignment.
- 50:33Speaker 9: And when we are in alignment with God.
- 50:35Speaker 4: That means that we are position to come in agreement
- 50:39Speaker 4: with God's word in God's will. And I thank God
- 50:43Speaker 4: for Trevina because she just gave me that segue to
- 50:46Speaker 4: come on in there to talk about the alignment of
- 50:49Speaker 4: God and knowing that it is mandatory for us to
- 50:54Speaker 4: get in alignment with Him if we want to walk
- 50:57Speaker 4: with him, if we want to see the rewards of God,
- 50:59Speaker 4: we have to be in alignment with God. And God
- 51:03Speaker 4: uses this thing that's called the plumb line, and the
- 51:06Speaker 4: plumb line is used to measure whether or not we
- 51:10Speaker 4: are straight. It measures our straightness. So I thank God
- 51:13Speaker 4: for that. And the thing that we have to know
- 51:16Speaker 4: is to come fully in alignment with God. We have
- 51:19Speaker 4: to fast and pray in order for us to fully
- 51:22Speaker 4: walk with God and be in alignment with God. So,
- 51:25Speaker 4: in accordance to Matthew seventeen, some things only come out
- 51:29Speaker 4: through fasting and praying. And I've heard these two women
- 51:33Speaker 4: of God that have come before me, Miss Johnson and
- 51:36Speaker 4: Miss Osborne talk about the fact of their lives and
- 51:40Speaker 4: their journeys and knowing that they have gone through various
- 51:44Speaker 4: things in their life. But I truly believe that no
- 51:47Speaker 4: matter what they have faced up until this point, some
- 51:50Speaker 4: of what they were able to come out of took
- 51:54Speaker 4: fasting and praying. It took the fact that they had
- 51:58Speaker 4: to not only pray, but they had to fast because
- 52:01Speaker 4: some things you can experience that make they are very
- 52:06Speaker 4: hard to actually separate yourselves from, and without the help
- 52:10Speaker 4: of God and without his power, you.
- 52:12Speaker 9: Can never be separated from those things.
- 52:15Speaker 4: So prayer is one of the things that helps to
- 52:18Speaker 4: catapult us into the place that God desires us to
- 52:22Speaker 4: be as far as our alignment with Him. But fasting
- 52:26Speaker 4: also keeps us grounded in that place. So when we
- 52:29Speaker 4: talk about aligning, and we talk about bringing our mind,
- 52:34Speaker 4: our body, and our soul in a balanced, harmonized balance
- 52:39Speaker 4: with the word of God and the will of God.
- 52:43Speaker 4: That'salonius talks about that, and it tells us that we
- 52:46Speaker 4: have to be made the very peace of God sanctify
- 52:52Speaker 4: us completely. And I pray that God that your whole spirit, soul,
- 52:58Speaker 4: and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our
- 53:03Speaker 4: Lord Jesus Christ. So one thing that we have to
- 53:06Speaker 4: understand is so many times we think things in our
- 53:10Speaker 4: minds and we don't understand that what we think really
- 53:14Speaker 4: controls us. The fact that we are thinking a certain thing.
- 53:19Speaker 4: The Bible tells us what a man, So what a
- 53:22Speaker 4: man thinketh that is what he is. And so when
- 53:25Speaker 4: we think about the thing, sometimes we take on that
- 53:29Speaker 4: negative word that has been given to us, and then
- 53:33Speaker 4: we will.
- 53:33Speaker 9: Capture our own negative innervows.
- 53:36Speaker 4: And when we began to rehearse those things and we
- 53:38Speaker 4: began to live those things, we began to.
- 53:40Speaker 9: Walk them out.
- 53:41Speaker 4: And so we began to live the fact that somebody
- 53:45Speaker 4: once told us that we would never be anything. Somebody
- 53:48Speaker 4: once told us that we would never amount to anything.
- 53:51Speaker 4: We would have a house full of children, we would
- 53:54Speaker 4: be dropouts in school, we would never have a life
- 53:57Speaker 4: that was.
- 53:57Speaker 9: Going to accomplish anything.
- 53:59Speaker 4: That we are ugly, or we're insignificant, or we are
- 54:04Speaker 4: of no value. Somebody has told us things in our
- 54:08Speaker 4: lifetime that we have come in agreement with those things.
- 54:11Speaker 4: And one thing that we have to do is we
- 54:13Speaker 4: have to renounce and denounce every negative vowel that has
- 54:17Speaker 4: ever been spoken over us, every negative word that has
- 54:21Speaker 4: been given to us in any inner, negative vowels that
- 54:24Speaker 4: we have taken ownership of, and we.
- 54:27Speaker 9: Have to change our language. We have to change our language.
- 54:30Speaker 4: I love the way that Miss Johnson talked about being
- 54:34Speaker 4: under construction because it's very important for us to realize
- 54:38Speaker 4: that we are all a work in progress. We have
- 54:41Speaker 4: not arrived, we are not where we are going to be.
- 54:47Speaker 4: As long as we continue to trust God and believe
- 54:49Speaker 4: God and take God at his word, there is so
- 54:52Speaker 4: much more for us. But we have to understand that
- 54:56Speaker 4: we are the clay and God is the part of
- 55:00Speaker 4: him being the part. Sometimes he has to reconstruct us.
- 55:04Speaker 4: He has to make us and mold us into the
- 55:07Speaker 4: image and the vessel that he desires us to be.
- 55:11Speaker 4: I have a motto because of the tattered past that
- 55:14Speaker 4: I have lived through, and that is i may be battered, broken, cracked,
- 55:19Speaker 4: or chipped, but I'm still dipped in destiny because I
- 55:22Speaker 4: know that the Master can take my broken pieces, he
- 55:26Speaker 4: can take the fragments of my life, and he can
- 55:29Speaker 4: align them with his purpose and destiny for me.
- 55:33Speaker 9: And so this is what we have to do.
- 55:35Speaker 4: As far as us coming in alignment with the Word
- 55:37Speaker 4: of God, we have to renounce and get rid of
- 55:40Speaker 4: all that bad stuff, all that negative stuff, all that
- 55:43Speaker 4: stuff that we have allowed the enemy to press the
- 55:45Speaker 4: rewind button on, and we have to begin to erase
- 55:50Speaker 4: it from our memory.
- 55:51Speaker 9: We have to begin to erase it.
- 55:53Speaker 4: We have to begin to denounce those things and replace
- 55:56Speaker 4: them with the Word of God. We have to begin
- 55:58Speaker 4: to tell ourselves that we're fearfully and wonderfully made. We
- 56:02Speaker 4: have to encourage ourselves that we can do all things
- 56:05Speaker 4: through Christ, who strengthens us. We have to understand that
- 56:09Speaker 4: we are the apple of God's eye. No matter what
- 56:12Speaker 4: man may say, no matter what man may think about us,
- 56:16Speaker 4: that's man's poverty, because it's none of our business. And
- 56:19Speaker 4: I love how Miss Harris talked about the fact that
- 56:23Speaker 4: what's going on is not our business.
- 56:25Speaker 9: God, let God be God.
- 56:28Speaker 4: We have to stop trying to be God and allow
- 56:30Speaker 4: him to be God and allow him to align us. Because,
- 56:34Speaker 4: as it's been stated, we will get off track, we
- 56:37Speaker 4: will take a wrong turn, and no matter how far
- 56:41Speaker 4: we have to go off course, going the wrong way,
- 56:45Speaker 4: We're gonna always come back to the place where God
- 56:47Speaker 4: designed for us to be.
- 56:49Speaker 9: So you just took the scenic crowd, you took the
- 56:52Speaker 9: long way around.
- 56:53Speaker 4: And whatever it is that you experience, it was because
- 56:57Speaker 4: of your will. Because when you get outside of the
- 57:01Speaker 4: will of God, the perfect will of God, he will
- 57:03Speaker 4: allow you to be.
- 57:04Speaker 9: In his permissive will.
- 57:06Speaker 4: So he's not gonna go against your will because he
- 57:09Speaker 4: gave us a free will and a choice, and so
- 57:12Speaker 4: in that he will allow you to operate according to
- 57:16Speaker 4: your will, but his will is going to be done.
- 57:19Speaker 4: So it's better for us just to come an alignment
- 57:22Speaker 4: and an agreement with what he has spoken over our
- 57:25Speaker 4: life and allow him to be in total control. Make
- 57:29Speaker 4: sure that you understand that whatever you are thinking, that's
- 57:33Speaker 4: what you become. So when you begin to speak to yourself,
- 57:38Speaker 4: speak to yourself the things of God. Speak to yourself
- 57:41Speaker 4: positive things. Grab hold to positive affirmations. And every time
- 57:46Speaker 4: the enemy comes to tell you who you are not,
- 57:49Speaker 4: you tell him who you are. When he comes to
- 57:52Speaker 4: tell you what you cannot be, you tell him what
- 57:54Speaker 4: you are already becoming. You have to change your language.
- 57:58Speaker 4: You have to understand and that the things that have
- 58:01Speaker 4: been spoken to us and over us, they are of
- 58:04Speaker 4: no effect. When we come into the body of Christ,
- 58:07Speaker 4: when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we
- 58:10Speaker 4: are new creatures in Him, and everything else that was
- 58:14Speaker 4: old has been passed away.
- 58:16Speaker 9: So when our hearts are in right standing.
- 58:20Speaker 4: With God, our spirit, and our souls and our bodies,
- 58:24Speaker 4: they work together peacefully in harmony. So we have to
- 58:29Speaker 4: surrender our own desires to Him. Surrender your ambitions, surrender
- 58:33Speaker 4: your agendas, because we have to know that His agenda
- 58:38Speaker 4: should be our agenda. His desires for us should be
- 58:42Speaker 4: our desires. And we have to fully embrace the purpose
- 58:47Speaker 4: in which God has desired for us, in which God
- 58:50Speaker 4: has designed for us. And we must know that no
- 58:56Speaker 4: matter what happens, we have to get our lives in alignment.
- 59:01Speaker 9: Come in alignment with the word of God, knowing that
- 59:05Speaker 9: your language must change, your mindset must change, your vantage
- 59:11Speaker 9: point must change. If your head is bowed to.
- 59:15Speaker 4: The ground, you're looking too low. Lift up your head today.
- 59:21Speaker 4: Lift up your head, cast your eyes towards Heaven, look
- 59:25Speaker 4: to the heels from which cometh your health, and pray
- 59:28Speaker 4: and ask God to bring you into total alignment in
- 59:32Speaker 4: an agreement as you walk out your purpose and your destiny. Amen,
- 59:46Speaker 4: Let's using God today for alignment. I want to thank
- 59:52Speaker 4: you for that one thing you just said, and that
- 59:55Speaker 4: is walk with your head up. That was something that
- 59:59Speaker 4: I struggled with for a long time as a teen
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: growing up, which I would walk with my head down
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: all the time. But I realized as I was getting
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: ready to go into high school, I had two teachers
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: that came to me. One was an English teacher, one
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: was a math teacher. And my English teacher took me
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: out in the hallway and I'm like, Lord, what have
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: I done?
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: I don't want to be you.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: Know, any time the teacher got to take you out
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: in hallway, you don't done something you ain't supposed to do. Well,
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: it wasn't that she asked me why I was in
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: her class, and I couldn't understand.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: I'm like, what do you mean while I'm in your class?
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: I've been here all semester.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: Why are we talking about this now? She'd say, well,
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: I need to understand why are you in my class?
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: I said, well, again, I have no idea what you're
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: asking me, because this is the class I've been assigned
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: to be in. And she said, no, when I give tests,
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: even if you've missed a day or two or whatever.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: You are able to ace the test without any issues
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: or any problems. You're not supposed to be in this class.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: You need to be in a higher up class, something
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: that challenges you a little more than what you're being challenged.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: And I said, well, I've always been told that this
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: is where I belong. And she said, well, I'm telling
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: you now you've outgrown this space. This is not for you.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: And I was like, okay, all right, if you say so.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: So that was the turning point. My math teacher did
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: the same thing for me. She took me out in
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: the hall and she asked me, She said, what is
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: going on with you?
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: Your grades are slipping? Now, mom's you I'm not the
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: greatest math person. I don't like numbers. You know, unless
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: we talking money, we good. But anything outside of that,
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: you want to put the alphabet in here. And I
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: got to solve these equations and things like that. That's
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: not my forte. That's not what I do.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: And so she was like, no, there's something going on
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: with you, and I need to know what it is
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: because I know that you're capable of doing much better
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: than you are. And it took those two teachers in
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: ninth grade speaking to me in a way that no
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: one else ever had. And it was then that I
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: understood that just because the family that family members that
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: were raising me that were consistent in telling me that
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: I was dumb, I was stupid. I was never gonna
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: amount to anything but to turn out to be a
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: drug addicted.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: Alcoholic like my mom.
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: So growing up consistently as a little kid here and
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: that it does tend to stick. It sticks like hot grits.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: You know, it sticks, and you have to bear that
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: wound for quite some time. And so as I got older,
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: I understood that it's the environment that you're in, but
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: you don't have to become the label that they've given you.
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: And I've always been.
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: Outspoken, so when they as I got older, and they
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: would say those things, and I was like, okay, so
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: are you talking about me or are you talking about yourself?
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Because I don't have to agree with you, And so
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: since I don't have to agree with you, you don't have
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: to like the fact that I am doing what I'm
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: supposed to do. Now, mind you, I did get pregnant
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: at seventeen, so that was and I say this, and
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: it is not the right thing to say, but it
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: is the honest thing to say, and that is it
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: was like the family tradition. All the women got pregnant
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: as teenagers in my family, so I didn't know anything
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: different than that. However, I can say that I was
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: able to break that generational curse for myself and my
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: children because my daughter, she had her first baby after
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: she graduated college and she was twenty.
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: Six when she did.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: So my son didn't have his first child until he
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: was twenty three, I want to say, And so I
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: was able to break in my youngest.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: He still don't have no kids. But he's the greatest.
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: Father, slash, uncle, slash you know, whoever he want to
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: call himself at the time, because he's what he all
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: of our daddies, you know, that's how he is. So
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: if you ever meet my son, trust and believe he
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: gonna act like your daddy too, because he gonna take
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: have you eat eating today?
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: Did you take your medicine? Are you home?
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: Have you eaten? Have you done? He goes through the
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: whole list of what he's suppo, what you're supposed to do,
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: and he the baby. So yeah, but you know, being
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: in alignment with what God has called us to do
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: is very important in this life. So when we walk
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: according to His plan, we're never out of we're never
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: out of season. But we do get hard headed, We
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: definitely do get hard headed. And like I said earlier,
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: it's that GPS, that free will and God is always
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: gonna be like, Okay, I'm let you go on down now,
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: but I guarantee you you gonna take that detour that's
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: gonna bring you right back to where I had you
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: going in the first place. So if you stay in
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: alignment what God is telling you to do, you'll never
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: be off course and you'll never be off track. So
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: I want to thank you so much for that, because
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: somebody somewhere needed that today because they are off alignment,
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: they off of their assignment. They trying to be their
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: own GPS, and they don't got lost and they're trying
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: to figure out how to get back. All you gotta
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: do is go take you a moment, sit down and
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: be quiet and be still, and allow God to give
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: you the direction of where you need to go. Yes, Trevida,
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: I want to say one thing that you touched on
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: just now. It brings me back to the fact that
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: we as women we own a lot of stuff that
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: are placed on us as labels when we go through
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: our situations, when we go through life and challenges and
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: different things, bad marriages, bad relationships, failures in our life,
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: we begin to take those things on and we begin
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: to live that. And in order for us to align
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: ourselves with God, we have to rid ourselves of the
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: those things. We have to understand that regardless of the misuse,
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: regardless of the abuse, regardless of the trauma, that those
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: things do not define us.
- 1:06:09Speaker 9: As who we are.
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: But our proper alignment with God and understanding that we
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: are the sons and daughters of God. That is what
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: brings us into alignment. When we can see ourselves as
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: God sees us. Yes, that's very very important. God didn't
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: make any mistakes when he created us, so we were
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: always perfect in his sight. And as long as we
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: know that God didn't make no mistakes with us, it
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: doesn't matter what man says. God always has that final say.
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: So you know what, I thank you so much for
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: everything that you delivered, And somebody else is gonna get
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: back on track with what you said because they got
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: a blueprint of how to get back on track. So
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: I thank you for that next you guys, we're gonna
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: have miss Apostle Alma Thomas come up and talk to
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: us about resilience. Now, listen, you've probably been down in
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: the dunks, didn't know if you were gonna make it
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: out of a situation that you were going through. You
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: didn't realize the strength that you had within you. The
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: resilience was already instilled in you. Like that old saying
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: goes it says, God never puts more on us than
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: we can bear. It's not that he puts more on
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: us than we can bear. God already equipped us with
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: everything that we were going to need to go through
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: this life. So it's up to us to dig deep
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: within us to find out what He's instilled in us.
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: So when we figure out the purpose in which we've
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: been created, we will already know what tools we needed
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: to get through this next level. So when you are
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: not being tested that ain't you ain't got nothing to
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: go through right then God is already He's telling you
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: to sit still and be patient with what's coming up.
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: Sometimes we get so beside ourselves that we don't understand
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: that God is sitting us in a season of But
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: then we get to go creating all kind of havoc
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: and chaos in our own lives and wonder why.
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: We're going through some stuff.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: Sometimes your resilience is because it's something you put yourself
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: in and that's the consequences of what you have to
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: go through to get out of it. But understanding is
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: key to getting through and understanding what your resilience is necessary.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: So I'm gonna get on out the way and I'm
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: gonna let miss Minister Alma Thomas come on up here
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: and talk to y'all.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: About resilience because she got some stories for you.
- 1:08:36Speaker 10: Good morning, Good morning. I'm excited, excited to be here
- 1:08:43Speaker 10: this morning. And the topic that I have resilience is
- 1:08:49Speaker 10: afropole for today. Because my uncle bes away this weekend.
- 1:08:56Speaker 10: I had to just minister to somebody and let them
- 1:09:00Speaker 10: know that my uncle had passed away. But we've made
- 1:09:06Speaker 10: a commitment to doing something. You still have to show up.
- 1:09:12Speaker 10: Resilience refers to how well you can deal with and
- 1:09:18Speaker 10: bounce back from the difficulties up. I prepare my life
- 1:09:26Speaker 10: to that clown that that's the carnival, You know, that
- 1:09:30Speaker 10: clown that you throw the ball at really hard and
- 1:09:35Speaker 10: the clown back or almost to the ground. They think
- 1:09:40Speaker 10: that you want to want to the grand just you
- 1:09:48Speaker 10: look back up here that cloud back, back back, they
- 1:09:54Speaker 10: put something in that class.
- 1:09:56Speaker 8: Step back, Well, I have something.
- 1:10:01Speaker 10: That's the fact that from what things.
- 1:10:13Speaker 8: And like a lot of dark I don't.
- 1:10:19Speaker 10: But if the the that's the motivation that if that
- 1:10:31Speaker 10: that that's the difference between and pressure and the rebuilding
- 1:10:42Speaker 10: will set that out of the.
- 1:10:49Speaker 8: Stressed more ex.
- 1:10:53Speaker 10: Res shown that why some people see that my resilience. Actually,
- 1:11:01Speaker 10: these behaviors can also be learned whether you're going through
- 1:11:06Speaker 10: a tough down now or you what fad for future challenging.
- 1:11:13Speaker 10: You can build your resilience by one finding a purpose
- 1:11:19Speaker 10: to believe in in yourself, developing a ccial network and
- 1:11:29Speaker 10: praising change, being optimistic, nurturing yourself, developing problem solving skills,
- 1:11:38Speaker 10: and establishing goals and taking act. I know that these
- 1:11:46Speaker 10: methods work because I learned to imprace the things that
- 1:11:55Speaker 10: I can still do and accept the things that I
- 1:12:00Speaker 10: can no longer do. I get the journey of acceptance
- 1:12:07Speaker 10: In two thousand and nine, when my son passed away
- 1:12:13Speaker 10: and I had to accept the that that he was
- 1:12:17Speaker 10: gone and that there was nothing I could do to
- 1:12:22Speaker 10: bring him back. And for a while I was in
- 1:12:30Speaker 10: a dark place, but then I learned how to turn
- 1:12:34Speaker 10: my pain into passion, and I established a scholarship and
- 1:12:40Speaker 10: my son's daughter and today after and out seventeen scholarships
- 1:12:47Speaker 10: to African American boys of single parents who want to
- 1:12:53Speaker 10: go to school.
- 1:12:55Speaker 8: So I created the f.
- 1:13:00Speaker 10: That my son love education and I accepted the back
- 1:13:06Speaker 10: that since he wasn't coming back, that I can instilled
- 1:13:10Speaker 10: in my community. So they say that I still in
- 1:13:15Speaker 10: my to and then after my son has a way,
- 1:13:19Speaker 10: then I faced up a situation of being office when
- 1:13:25Speaker 10: off my house.
- 1:13:27Speaker 8: A park was a did and I.
- 1:13:34Speaker 10: Myself go through a home still and look at it
- 1:13:41Speaker 10: by like like it wasn't anything that I did personally
- 1:13:48Speaker 10: and wanted to be homeless. It was something so why
- 1:13:54Speaker 10: step back except that that look for play and felt
- 1:14:02Speaker 10: well one ed and that based situation with better y
- 1:14:13Speaker 10: and he just or thinks that I was the man.
- 1:14:22Speaker 10: And then when he that act he has switched up
- 1:14:28Speaker 10: for me. My fount out with address addicted drug and
- 1:14:34Speaker 10: I went through it before now and.
- 1:14:40Speaker 8: That going through UH four.
- 1:14:46Speaker 10: But decision that I'm not con set. He was not
- 1:14:54Speaker 10: said it was Wan up him out, so I'm not
- 1:15:01Speaker 10: gonna stay and the situation then, so I said, and think, okay,
- 1:15:11Speaker 10: I throw out of st and up the back.
- 1:15:18Speaker 8: That friend my go and hope and at Lark stud
- 1:15:29Speaker 8: and break back still okay step back that way but
- 1:15:39Speaker 8: still and.
- 1:15:42Speaker 10: God use me right some place and I have hun
- 1:15:53Speaker 10: off my pack and jack wh what I that five
- 1:16:03Speaker 10: hundred zip hop hop past and got rock place where
- 1:16:13Speaker 10: Oh oh I see that's so, but that's Hope and
- 1:16:23Speaker 10: both yah so back back and y f what what.
- 1:16:34Speaker 8: Back you know? Oh? But oh okay still oh that.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: We and.
- 1:16:49Speaker 10: But h I play that's up? I see the fact
- 1:17:06Speaker 10: d I.
- 1:17:08Speaker 8: I j right right because none on April.
- 1:17:23Speaker 10: Twenty thirty, two thousand and twenty one is that the
- 1:17:28Speaker 10: funeral the cemetery is for Unfeld potential dead, dreams and visions.
- 1:17:37Speaker 10: And I refused to let my purpose die inside of me.
- 1:17:44Speaker 10: Previously I wrote two books, and I thought that my
- 1:17:54Speaker 10: my writing career was over because I putn't use by
- 1:17:59Speaker 10: right hand.
- 1:18:01Speaker 8: For glory be to God.
- 1:18:04Speaker 10: I've written six books using my left hand, one finger
- 1:18:14Speaker 10: on my telephone. And so I didn't give up. I
- 1:18:23Speaker 10: embraced my life. And sometimes in life I compare my
- 1:18:35Speaker 10: life too. Uh, like we spoke up earlier. A GPS
- 1:18:40Speaker 10: is so that sometimes in life, if you make a
- 1:18:45Speaker 10: you don't go over to the side of the road
- 1:18:47Speaker 10: and say, I don't know, I'm not going to my
- 1:18:50Speaker 10: destination because I missed my turn.
- 1:18:53Speaker 8: So I'm gonna sit right here at this.
- 1:18:58Speaker 10: Point where I was the hold up my destinations. I
- 1:19:04Speaker 10: missed the route that I was going.
- 1:19:07Speaker 8: I'm not going down.
- 1:19:08Speaker 10: No, we have this thing called the GPS and stuff
- 1:19:12Speaker 10: that when you make a mistake, it's that.
- 1:19:15Speaker 8: Re routing, re routing, re routing, and you.
- 1:19:19Speaker 10: Reach your destination not the way that you previously thought
- 1:19:25Speaker 10: you were gonna go. But you may take detour or
- 1:19:29Speaker 10: U turn, but if you get to your destination. And
- 1:19:33Speaker 10: that's the same thing with God that sometimes we make mistakes.
- 1:19:39Speaker 10: Sometimes we need to make a U turn, Sometimes we
- 1:19:42Speaker 10: need to make a detour. Sometimes there's I holds in
- 1:19:46Speaker 10: a way, but we make it to our destination that
- 1:19:52Speaker 10: God has designed for us another way. So God had
- 1:20:00Speaker 10: another way for me to inspire and motivate people. Because
- 1:20:07Speaker 10: when you see me laying on my bed coming with life,
- 1:20:10Speaker 10: why do you show up at conferences and themnas and
- 1:20:16Speaker 10: you're laying in your bed and you're patalized. So why
- 1:20:21Speaker 10: do you show up? And I have an answer for you.
- 1:20:24Speaker 10: Why don't you show up? If you got two odds
- 1:20:29Speaker 10: and you got two legs and you can move around,
- 1:20:33Speaker 10: why are you not doing what God has purposed in
- 1:20:38Speaker 10: your life, whatever it is, do or today, build up
- 1:20:46Speaker 10: your resilience. I know a lot of people have been rejected.
- 1:20:51Speaker 10: You've been do disappointment. People have labeled you and told
- 1:20:57Speaker 10: you you were never gonna be any good, that you
- 1:21:00Speaker 10: would never gone accomplish anything.
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: I grew up.
- 1:21:08Speaker 10: With people telling me, Oh, you're gonna be just like mother,
- 1:21:12Speaker 10: You're gonna have a kid. I'm all you're gonna be
- 1:21:16Speaker 10: is a baby maker. But I had a choice. I
- 1:21:21Speaker 10: can either make those things come true or I can
- 1:21:25Speaker 10: fight against those stereotype. And that's what I did. I
- 1:21:30Speaker 10: was born against those stereotype. I had my first child
- 1:21:33Speaker 10: when I was twenty six, and only you won. I
- 1:21:39Speaker 10: went to college and I did not allow people to
- 1:21:46Speaker 10: identify me. I don't have to be what you say
- 1:21:51Speaker 10: I am. I don't have to be where my mother was,
- 1:21:55Speaker 10: I don't have to be where my daddy was. That
- 1:21:58Speaker 10: I can look at those situations and say I'm breaking
- 1:22:01Speaker 10: the cycle.
- 1:22:03Speaker 8: I'm not.
- 1:22:05Speaker 10: I'm not gonna allow situations and the atmosphere that I
- 1:22:12Speaker 10: grew up in to divide who I am. I'm going
- 1:22:18Speaker 10: to make change. I'm going to make a difference. And
- 1:22:22Speaker 10: no matter what I go through in life, I know
- 1:22:29Speaker 10: that the thing that I think that really made me
- 1:22:36Speaker 10: resentient was losing my son, because to me, that's the
- 1:22:42Speaker 10: worst thing that can happen. So when all these other
- 1:22:46Speaker 10: things happened to me, I've already experienced the worst thing
- 1:22:52Speaker 10: that can happen to me. God showed up and and God,
- 1:22:59Speaker 10: It's true that God's not gonna put no more on
- 1:23:02Speaker 10: you than you can bear, that God will never leave you,
- 1:23:07Speaker 10: that the people will never forsake you.
- 1:23:09Speaker 8: He's always gonna be there.
- 1:23:12Speaker 10: And that's my faith that allowed me to go through
- 1:23:17Speaker 10: all those things and still be standing. A lot of
- 1:23:21Speaker 10: people that would have gone through what I've been through
- 1:23:25Speaker 10: would be in a mental institution right now. But I've
- 1:23:31Speaker 10: looked at the positive rather than the negative.
- 1:23:36Speaker 8: I am grave.
- 1:23:37Speaker 10: I see myself as God's his feet, not as I am,
- 1:23:42Speaker 10: but as I'm.
- 1:23:43Speaker 8: Going to be here.
- 1:23:46Speaker 10: One of the things that I enjoy doing is allowing
- 1:23:52Speaker 10: God to use me to inspire and motivate people that
- 1:23:57Speaker 10: if laying here in my bed, I can still those
- 1:24:05Speaker 10: little things that God has purpose for me to do.
- 1:24:09Speaker 10: That as long as you're walking, as long as you
- 1:24:13Speaker 10: got used of your limbs, do what God has called
- 1:24:18Speaker 10: you to do. Don't give up, don't give in, and
- 1:24:23Speaker 10: don't give out that God still has a plan and
- 1:24:28Speaker 10: a purpose for your life. To live out that purpose.
- 1:24:34Speaker 10: I'd like to offer people a challenge for you to
- 1:24:44Speaker 10: dare to dream again, to reach deep inside of you
- 1:24:49Speaker 10: to you know the dreams you may be rockle to
- 1:24:52Speaker 10: sleep those things that you thought you could never have
- 1:24:58Speaker 10: and awaken the dreamer you. And if you want to
- 1:25:05Speaker 10: write a book, write that book. Just start with one word.
- 1:25:11Speaker 10: You don't have to be perfect. I thank God for
- 1:25:17Speaker 10: a Trevida because I write with about one hand and
- 1:25:21Speaker 10: when I finished, I send it to her and she
- 1:25:25Speaker 10: polishes it up to me. So whatever it is that
- 1:25:28Speaker 10: you want to do, you can find a way to
- 1:25:32Speaker 10: do it. If you want to start a business, get
- 1:25:35Speaker 10: that EI in number today. If you want to go
- 1:25:38Speaker 10: back to school, get a catalog and just take one class.
- 1:25:44Speaker 8: If you want to buy a.
- 1:25:46Speaker 10: House, whatever it is that God has densve for you.
- 1:25:51Speaker 10: Don't give up, continue to live. Don't matter what you've
- 1:25:59Speaker 10: been through, how dark the days have been, how dark
- 1:26:03Speaker 10: the nights have been. Because I had some dark days,
- 1:26:09Speaker 10: I had some dark nights. One of my favorite songs,
- 1:26:13Speaker 10: And I won't complain. Then I ask God, why? Why
- 1:26:21Speaker 10: so much pain? But I won't complain because God has
- 1:26:26Speaker 10: been good to me that throughout all the things that
- 1:26:32Speaker 10: I've been through that I still The water didn't overtake me,
- 1:26:41Speaker 10: the fire didn't burn me.
- 1:26:44Speaker 8: I don't look like what I've been through.
- 1:26:51Speaker 10: So basically, God has just been so good to me
- 1:27:00Speaker 10: that despite the disappointment, despite the wilderness experience, God has
- 1:27:07Speaker 10: taken care of me all my life. Even in the wilderness,
- 1:27:12Speaker 10: I didn't lose anything. So one today, be resilient, bounce
- 1:27:20Speaker 10: back from every situation that you face.
- 1:27:28Speaker 8: Me Be like David. When it was time for David.
- 1:27:35Speaker 10: To fight the phillading, he knew that God was going
- 1:27:39Speaker 10: to be with him, because God was with him when
- 1:27:42Speaker 10: he for the lion in the bear, and he knew
- 1:27:46Speaker 10: that if God had showed up before, that God will
- 1:27:50Speaker 10: show up this time. So whatever you're going through, just
- 1:27:55Speaker 10: stand whatever it is God will see you. If God
- 1:28:05Speaker 10: want you do it, he'll help you through it. So
- 1:28:09Speaker 10: one just morning the dream that's amazings just to sit
- 1:28:22Speaker 10: and listen to you and just to watch you.
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: Meeting you a couple of years ago, you showed me
- 1:28:28Speaker 4: the true meaning of resilience. Having a major stroke is
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: something that you and I share similarly experiences. Yours has
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: been more detrimental than mine has been. However, knowing that
- 1:28:46Speaker 4: God gets all the glory and all the power is
- 1:28:50Speaker 4: what resilience is all about. Because Man told me that
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: I would never walk again and not never speak again.
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: But look at me now, because I refuse to listen
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: to what man had to say.
- 1:29:05Speaker 5: When you give God the power.
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: And surrender to him and what his plans are for you,
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: you can always be on the other side. And God
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: uses us if we allow him to use us, because
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: God knows what broken pieces looks like. But when you
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: allow God to do the mending, you're never broken to
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: where you can't be used. And God never worries about
- 1:29:33Speaker 4: us being qualified because He qualifies us for each and
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: every position that He puts us in. So you saying
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: bounce back, saying that God can still use you, just
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: like broken crayon still color.
- 1:29:46Speaker 5: Everybody is capable.
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: Of doing something more if they actually put one foot
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: in front of the other and actually go forth in what.
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: God is telling them to do.
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: So often most people want to run from what it
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: is that God is because they don't want to be
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: judged by the next person that's sitting next to them.
- 1:30:05Speaker 4: But they don't understand that they have a purpose and
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: somebody needs them. So I thank you so much for
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: still showing up Heaven being in the bed, because that
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: shows someone else that just because they can't get up
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: and physically move around, we have so much technology that
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: is available to us that you can still get up
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: and show up. And you do that each and every
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: time that you're called upon to show up. And those
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: who don't know and don't understand, they're always going to
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: question why you're doing that. But if they take the time,
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: because I say this, we have spectators and we have
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: fans or supporters, but the spectators are always going to
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: be sitting there on the sidelines talking about what you
- 1:30:49Speaker 4: could do, what you should do, and what shouldn't do,
- 1:30:52Speaker 4: but they never get off the sideline to actually do anything.
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: And those are the spectators that never move, and they
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: are the ones that die with a whole lot of
- 1:31:01Speaker 4: purpose and potential inside that because they never want to
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: get off the sideline, but they quick to make a comment,
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: our judgment and say what you could and couldn't do.
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: But God always knows what you could and what you
- 1:31:13Speaker 4: can and what you always will do. So I thank you.
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: And it is an honor and a privilege to even
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: know you and to work with you. And I thank
- 1:31:21Speaker 4: you for entrusting me with the things that you entrust
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: me with. So we got a whole lot more stuff
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: that we got to work on together, and I'm looking
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: forward to doing that. So thank you for everything that
- 1:31:32Speaker 4: you do for me. All Right, listen, I'm gonna talk
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: to you guys a little bit about my own resilience.
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: As I mentioned before, I had a stroke in two
- 1:31:51Speaker 4: thousand and nine. I was only thirty years old, had
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: two small kids, three small kids, and I was taking
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: care of my mom. I was going through it separation
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: and a divorce. It was a lot going on at
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: one time. I was also trying to take care of
- 1:32:06Speaker 4: my mom. Then I had my little sister who had
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: just been emancipated out of the system.
- 1:32:10Speaker 5: So I had a lot of stuff.
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: Going on, and stroke is what met me in the
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: midst of all of that. And had a doctor who
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: told me that since I couldn't use the left side
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: of my body, to simply just get used to that.
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: Not only did I have a stroke, I was also
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: diagnosed at the same time with the brain aneurysm, also
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: with a condition called kerim information, which there is absolutely
- 1:32:35Speaker 4: no cure for at all. So being thirty years old,
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: being diagnosed with all of these things, and then you
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: have a neurologist is telling you just to get used
- 1:32:43Speaker 4: to not being able to use the left side of
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: your body. And then a few years after that, twenty thirteen,
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: you have a major flair with this condition that you
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: lose your ability to speak. Nobody can tell you what's
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: going on. You also lose their ability to walk again,
- 1:33:01Speaker 4: and so your left side is affected once again. But
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: no one could tell me what was happening with me
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: or how I was able to gonna be able to
- 1:33:11Speaker 4: be this person that you guys see right now.
- 1:33:13Speaker 5: I prayed and ask God, just.
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: Give me the strength to make it through this day.
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: If you give me the strength to make it through
- 1:33:20Speaker 4: this day, I'll continue to do what it is that.
- 1:33:22Speaker 5: You've called me to do.
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: I don't necessarily know what that is, and I didn't
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: know what that was at that time. I am, well,
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: let me stop saying that I was fearful of speaking
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: in front of people.
- 1:33:34Speaker 5: But as you can.
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: See, that don't really work anymore. I talk a lot
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: all the time. But God put in me to know
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: that if he could give me one day, he could
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: give me another. I just needed to trust him through
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: the process. And when I tell you that thought process
- 1:33:53Speaker 4: that I had, I did, and I was very negative
- 1:33:57Speaker 4: because it seemed like I went through the stroke, going
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: through the separation, going through the divorce, going through all
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: of this, that I didn't see anything positive in any
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: of that. And so without seeing anything positive, I'm like, God, Okay,
- 1:34:13Speaker 4: look here, I don't know what it is that you're
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: trying to teach me in this moment and in the season.
- 1:34:18Speaker 4: I don't know what this is. And I have the
- 1:34:21Speaker 4: question that the number one question that we always ask,
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: and that is why me when I stopped, because I
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: started to get on my own dog on nerves. I'll
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: be honest with you, the negative thoughts and stuff that
- 1:34:32Speaker 4: I was having for myself. I got on my own nerves.
- 1:34:35Speaker 4: I got tired of hearing myself say, God, I'm tired.
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: I don't know what it is that you want me
- 1:34:41Speaker 4: to do. Why is this happening to me? I'm in
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: pain every day, my head hurts. I got tired of
- 1:34:47Speaker 4: hearing that. So when I got tired of hearing that,
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: what I started asking God was what is it that
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: I need to take from what I'm going through right now?
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: And what is it that you need me to do
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: with this? I started asking those questions. I started to
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: be able to move in a different way, and I
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: started moving away from people that didn't mean me any good,
- 1:35:09Speaker 4: that didn't have my best interest at heart, and even
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: if that was family. I learned to set good boundaries
- 1:35:17Speaker 4: to be resilient and to be in the space that
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: I'm in now, so having a stronger backbone and being
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: able to know that I am more than what people
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: said I was, and to know that God had a
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: bigger plan for me that I even knew what it
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: was gonna be.
- 1:35:35Speaker 5: Because did I know I was gonna be speaking to
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: y'all today?
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: Uh, if you'd asked me five years ago, I've said no, Now,
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: that ain't for me.
- 1:35:43Speaker 5: That's for somebody else.
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: But God has been showing me so many other things
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: and it's like, okay, all right, this is the next thing.
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: So this is the next thing. This is I got this.
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: This sho itinerary is what God keeps telling me.
- 1:35:56Speaker 5: I got some things for you. Thishor itinerary.
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: We're gonna mark this off, but know that when you're
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: going through something, it's a test of where God is
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: taking you. So you can either fold under the pressure
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: or you can rise and do what God is calling
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: you to do. This next person we have coming up
- 1:36:15Speaker 4: is going to be my favorite lady, Arthur Black Diamond,
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: and she's gonna be talking to us about trauma no more.
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: We've all experienced trauma. And the thing about trauma is
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: we carry it for a long time and we don't
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: know when we need to let it go because we
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: don't understand. Sometimes we bleed on other people who didn't
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: do anything to us. And when you continues to ignore
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: the trauma, like by saying this is just how I
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: was raised, This is all I know. You keep yourself
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: holding on to the trauma that you want to heal from,
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: but you don't even know how to take the band
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: aid off. You got to learn how to let that
- 1:36:59Speaker 4: trauma go so that you can heal. And that brings
- 1:37:02Speaker 4: us back to where we started this whole conference about
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: is healing letting go of trauma, but first acknowledging that
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: you've experienced some trauma so that you can begin your
- 1:37:14Speaker 4: healing process. So I'm gonna get on up out of
- 1:37:17Speaker 4: the way, and we're gonna bring this black diamond on up,
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: because this is Mama, the black Diamond.
- 1:37:22Speaker 5: She gonna tell you some things.
- 1:37:27Speaker 7: Hi, everybody, Oh my gosh, this has been some morning,
- 1:37:31Speaker 7: good afternoon. I've listened to each one of my sisters here,
- 1:37:37Speaker 7: and I said to myself, how do you follow any
- 1:37:41Speaker 7: of these stories? And then I realized that I'm not
- 1:37:44Speaker 7: gonna follow them. I'm gonna walk alongside them because it
- 1:37:48Speaker 7: is a manner of the heart. I when I was well,
- 1:37:53Speaker 7: I wasn't what you call approach, but I saw that
- 1:37:56Speaker 7: we were doing this, and I asked to be a
- 1:37:58Speaker 7: part of this trauma. Know more is what I had
- 1:38:02Speaker 7: chose to do. But I didn't know what resonated with
- 1:38:05Speaker 7: me more with the things that I've been through. I
- 1:38:10Speaker 7: didn't know if I should talk about being tampered with
- 1:38:13Speaker 7: as a child. And I can say that I'm not
- 1:38:17Speaker 7: going to say me too, because it happened before the
- 1:38:20Speaker 7: me Too movement, so I say me also. I don't
- 1:38:24Speaker 7: know if I wanted to talk about the time that
- 1:38:29Speaker 7: a hit was put out on me and my family
- 1:38:31Speaker 7: and we had to leave everything behind and move to
- 1:38:34Speaker 7: a state. And I say, sometimes in a joking way,
- 1:38:36Speaker 7: that we landed here because most people when they move,
- 1:38:40Speaker 7: they move because they want to and they're going after something.
- 1:38:44Speaker 7: But we were running from something, so we wind up
- 1:38:46Speaker 7: in a state that we're in now. But after being
- 1:38:49Speaker 7: here for a little while, and I can tell you
- 1:38:51Speaker 7: that for the first six months, I cried every day
- 1:38:54Speaker 7: because I thought about everything that I left behind. But
- 1:38:56Speaker 7: then I had to think about what was with me,
- 1:38:58Speaker 7: and that was my husband and my children. But then
- 1:39:02Speaker 7: I thought, oh no, I'm not going to talk about that.
- 1:39:05Speaker 7: Maybe I'll discuss and tell everybody how three weeks my
- 1:39:09Speaker 7: husband was laying in a morgue before I found his body,
- 1:39:13Speaker 7: and the state knew he was there, They knew who
- 1:39:16Speaker 7: he was, He had his identification on him, even had
- 1:39:20Speaker 7: my information on him, So why didn't he call me?
- 1:39:23Speaker 7: So I still believe to this day that it's foal
- 1:39:25Speaker 7: play and it's been going on nineteen years now, and
- 1:39:30Speaker 7: it's kind of hard sometimes to think about it. But
- 1:39:34Speaker 7: then I said, no, I'm not going to talk about
- 1:39:36Speaker 7: that either. I think what I wanted to talk about
- 1:39:40Speaker 7: was witnessing a murder and going into the witness protection program.
- 1:39:47Speaker 7: Some people think that that's just talk, that it doesn't happen.
- 1:39:50Speaker 7: People don't really go in there, but we did, me
- 1:39:54Speaker 7: and my children. We wanted up in a witness protection
- 1:39:56Speaker 7: program and it wasn't easy. We had to look over
- 1:40:01Speaker 7: our shoulders and to this day, I'm still looking over
- 1:40:03Speaker 7: my shoulder, not knowing who to trust, not knowing who's
- 1:40:07Speaker 7: in the room, not knowing who's still out there. And
- 1:40:10Speaker 7: that's even from us moving from the other state. Those
- 1:40:13Speaker 7: two things had nothing to do with each other. But
- 1:40:16Speaker 7: then I said, no, I don't want to sit and
- 1:40:18Speaker 7: talk about that either. I said, I'm going to talk
- 1:40:22Speaker 7: about something that I've been doing for the last four years,
- 1:40:25Speaker 7: and that's been trying to save my life, improve my
- 1:40:29Speaker 7: innocence of something that I was accused of that could
- 1:40:32Speaker 7: have ruined me. And if it had not been for
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: the women that you had seen earlier and I'm not
- 1:40:41Speaker 7: going to say my guard because he's everybody's but I
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: keep him as a secret sometimes because that's my father God,
- 1:40:47Speaker 7: and he's pulled me through. So he's told me trauma
- 1:40:52Speaker 7: no more. Overcoming past trauma to leave a fulfilling life,
- 1:40:58Speaker 7: to overcome past trim and leader fulfilling life. It's essentral
- 1:41:02Speaker 7: first to acknowledge and understand the impact of the trauma.
- 1:41:06Speaker 7: So I delved into healing, which involves seeking support from therapy.
- 1:41:10Speaker 7: And yeah, I'm not going to say that therapy is
- 1:41:12Speaker 7: a bad thing. Certain people say, oh, no, not therapy.
- 1:41:16Speaker 7: We don't go to therapy. Well, we have been in
- 1:41:20Speaker 7: therapy all our lives, whether we believe it or not.
- 1:41:23Speaker 7: Building self compassion and developing resilience, which is what someone
- 1:41:27Speaker 7: spoke about earlier, and I believe that was Minister Alma.
- 1:41:32Speaker 7: Developing resilience through self care and personal growth. The goal
- 1:41:37Speaker 7: for me was not to erase the past, but to
- 1:41:40Speaker 7: reclaim the power over it, allowing me to move forward
- 1:41:44Speaker 7: with purpose, peace, and a renewed sense of self care
- 1:41:49Speaker 7: and sense of self Continuing the journey of healing and
- 1:41:55Speaker 7: overcoming past trauma requires patience, persistence, and unwillingness to face
- 1:42:01Speaker 7: difficult emotions. My emotions for the past four years have
- 1:42:05Speaker 7: been all over the place until I received that letter
- 1:42:08Speaker 7: that proved my innocence of what I knew all along. Yes,
- 1:42:12Speaker 7: it still hurts to know that so many systems did
- 1:42:15Speaker 7: not believe me, but to find out that their systems
- 1:42:19Speaker 7: failed me, They failed my family, and what I'm fighting
- 1:42:24Speaker 7: now for is that they're feeling other families out there
- 1:42:27Speaker 7: as well. Had not I known what I know now,
- 1:42:32Speaker 7: I probably wouldn't be sitting here today. So here are
- 1:42:36Speaker 7: some key steps that I took to support the process
- 1:42:38Speaker 7: of me moving forward. I did seek professional help. Therapy
- 1:42:42Speaker 7: is what I spoke about, especially trauma and formed therapy,
- 1:42:46Speaker 7: which was instrumental in understanding the effects of trauma and
- 1:42:50Speaker 7: helping me work through it in a safe, structured way.
- 1:42:54Speaker 7: So a therapist can guide you in developing coping strategies,
- 1:42:58Speaker 7: processing emotions, and reframing negative beliefs. But I was able
- 1:43:03Speaker 7: to build a support network, and you've seen the network earlier.
- 1:43:06Speaker 7: I surrounded myself with people who are empathetic and uplifting,
- 1:43:10Speaker 7: trusted friends, and that not just my friends, they're my
- 1:43:13Speaker 7: family too. There are support groups that I did attend,
- 1:43:18Speaker 7: which provided validation, encouragement, and perspective reminded me that I'm
- 1:43:23Speaker 7: not in this alone. In my journey food for thought,
- 1:43:29Speaker 7: I practice self compassion. The healing process required kindness towards
- 1:43:34Speaker 7: myself because I beat myself down every day. And I
- 1:43:38Speaker 7: heard mister ter say why me, and I heard this,
- 1:43:41Speaker 7: I don't say the same thing. Why am I? But
- 1:43:44Speaker 7: why not me? Because he prepared me for this day.
- 1:43:48Speaker 7: Had I not been on that journey, I would probably
- 1:43:52Speaker 7: be a wreck. I'd probably be an alcoholic, substance user,
- 1:43:58Speaker 7: any one of those things selling parts of bodies that
- 1:44:01Speaker 7: I had no business doing. But he took me on
- 1:44:04Speaker 7: that journey and it brought me so far. I was
- 1:44:08Speaker 7: able to recognize that Helen is not a linear and
- 1:44:11Speaker 7: it's okay to have setbacks. I treat myself with the
- 1:44:16Speaker 7: same empathy and understanding that I would offer to someone
- 1:44:19Speaker 7: who cares about me. I developed a healthy coping mechanism
- 1:44:24Speaker 7: where I engaged in activities that promoted emotional and physical
- 1:44:28Speaker 7: well being, such as mindfulness. I went on that journey
- 1:44:31Speaker 7: and I was able to unpack my mindfulness well. I
- 1:44:36Speaker 7: am in an author, so I did a lot of journaling. Now,
- 1:44:39Speaker 7: I did try yoga. I got down there, but I
- 1:44:43Speaker 7: needed some help getting up, so I said, no, that's
- 1:44:45Speaker 7: not for me. But exercise did help. But it wasn't
- 1:44:50Speaker 7: yoga because I think at my age trying to get
- 1:44:52Speaker 7: down there, and I noticed some women that's a little
- 1:44:54Speaker 7: older than me that can get down, they can get up.
- 1:44:56Speaker 7: But my bones is telling me, no, not, you try
- 1:44:59Speaker 7: something else. That's what I did. But these practices they
- 1:45:02Speaker 7: can help regulate emotions, they reduce stress, and they created
- 1:45:06Speaker 7: space for healing. I was able to reclaim my power.
- 1:45:11Speaker 7: Overcoming trauma meant redefining my narrative, acknowledging how the past
- 1:45:17Speaker 7: has shaped me. But it also recognized my strength and resilience,
- 1:45:21Speaker 7: and which is what we spoke about earlier, as well
- 1:45:25Speaker 7: my focus on my values, goals and the positive aspects
- 1:45:28Speaker 7: in my life. I'm rebuilding a sense of purpose and joy.
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:45:33Speaker 7: At times I know people look and they say, oh,
- 1:45:35Speaker 7: she always seems so mean. No, I'm just pivoting the
- 1:45:38Speaker 7: room because I still look over my shoulder because I
- 1:45:42Speaker 7: have to figure out who is who, who is for me,
- 1:45:44Speaker 7: and who is not. And it's sad to live like that,
- 1:45:48Speaker 7: but I'm so happy that my children don't have to
- 1:45:50Speaker 7: look like that. You know, they're free. And the day
- 1:45:53Speaker 7: that we became free, when they told us that this
- 1:45:56Speaker 7: individual was going to be serving ninety nine years in jail,
- 1:46:01Speaker 7: in some ways it was a celebration, but I had
- 1:46:05Speaker 7: to go into my bathroom and break down because I said,
- 1:46:08Speaker 7: oh my god, is it really over? Some days I
- 1:46:12Speaker 7: say it's not.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: So.
- 1:46:14Speaker 7: I set boundaries and I prioritize my well being. My
- 1:46:18Speaker 7: healing involves learning to protect my energy and making choices
- 1:46:22Speaker 7: that support my mental, emotional, and physical health. And this
- 1:46:26Speaker 7: could mean just setting boundaries and relationships, saying no when necessary.
- 1:46:32Speaker 7: Try and believe me, it feels good, especially when you
- 1:46:35Speaker 7: got to save to your kids no. See, they're not
- 1:46:38Speaker 7: even in the room with me right now. It just
- 1:46:39Speaker 7: felt good just to say it, and I'm quite sure
- 1:46:42Speaker 7: today I'm wonn't be saying it a dozen times. It
- 1:46:45Speaker 7: feels so good. And don't forget to engage in activities
- 1:46:49Speaker 7: that nourish you. I'm not gonna tell you about some
- 1:46:53Speaker 7: of those activities, but there is nourishment and a lot
- 1:46:55Speaker 7: of the activities that I do. I celebrate the progress.
- 1:47:00Speaker 7: So celebrate you because you could to take time to
- 1:47:04Speaker 7: recognize and celebrate the small victories along the way. When
- 1:47:08Speaker 7: you look at it at the end of the day,
- 1:47:10Speaker 7: there's just going to be so many victories that you
- 1:47:12Speaker 7: didn't even realize that you accomplished. Every step forward, no
- 1:47:18Speaker 7: matter how small, is a sign of growth and healing.
- 1:47:21Speaker 7: Let me tell you, overcoming trauma doesn't mean erasing the past. Again.
- 1:47:28Speaker 7: Like I said, if I had to erase the past,
- 1:47:30Speaker 7: then I would be erasing a line of my children.
- 1:47:33Speaker 7: I would be erasing some of the memories, some of
- 1:47:35Speaker 7: the things that they shared. If I erase the past,
- 1:47:39Speaker 7: I wouldn't have my grandchildren. If I erase the past,
- 1:47:43Speaker 7: I wouldn't have those emotions that I had. Sometimes they
- 1:47:48Speaker 7: may be hurtful, but it's still an emotion that I
- 1:47:51Speaker 7: have to experience in order for me to move forward.
- 1:47:54Speaker 7: It means choosing to move forward with resilience, wisdom, and
- 1:47:58Speaker 7: an open heart rather the matters of art, which is
- 1:48:03Speaker 7: what topic is today. By actively engaging in my healing process,
- 1:48:09Speaker 7: I was able to create a future that feels fulfilling
- 1:48:13Speaker 7: and empowered. And I am so grateful for the time
- 1:48:18Speaker 7: that I was able to have today and for them
- 1:48:20Speaker 7: to be able to let me share my platform here
- 1:48:24Speaker 7: with you. I thank you so much, Trevina for being
- 1:48:27Speaker 7: a wonderful host that you know you are, so nobody
- 1:48:30Speaker 7: has to tell you that. And for each and every
- 1:48:32Speaker 7: one of you that spoke prior to me, I love
- 1:48:35Speaker 7: you all and I'm gonna always be here for you
- 1:48:38Speaker 7: because i know You're here for me as well. So
- 1:48:39Speaker 7: thank you so much to everyone.
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: Thank you, Black Diamond.
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: It's been a joy listening to everybody, but understanding the
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: traumas that you went through. No one would ever really
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: know any of that because, as the saying goes, you
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: don't look like what you've been through, and your resilience,
- 1:49:06Speaker 4: your strength, your demeanor, everything about you says that I
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: will not be defeated. I'm here for a purpose and
- 1:49:15Speaker 4: I'm going to walk in that purpose and it doesn't
- 1:49:18Speaker 4: matter if you don't like it. I'm comfortable with me
- 1:49:22Speaker 4: because I know what God has for me and I'm
- 1:49:24Speaker 4: going to.
- 1:49:25Speaker 5: Get it, you know.
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: And meeting you for the first time during our journey
- 1:49:32Speaker 4: of building the network, I won't say it wasn't intimidating.
- 1:49:39Speaker 5: It was just you are a mom.
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:49:42Speaker 4: It's one of those things where you hear that tone
- 1:49:46Speaker 4: from a mom because I have that same tone, and
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: my kids get me. They're like, okay, am I in trouble,
- 1:49:53Speaker 4: and it's like, no, you're not in trouble. So I
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: remember getting a phone call from my best friend Tanya.
- 1:50:01Speaker 4: She had to do a mock interview with you, and
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: she was like, I got so nervous because Black Diamond.
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: She was just it was. I said, it's the tone.
- 1:50:10Speaker 4: I get it. It's okay, I said, but she's harmless.
- 1:50:13Speaker 4: She's not gonna do anything but guide you. I said,
- 1:50:17Speaker 4: So to go back in there and do it again,
- 1:50:18Speaker 4: you'll be all right. So it's the love that you
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: have for us, and it's unwavering. And trauma is one
- 1:50:28Speaker 4: of those things that we have to acknowledge first in
- 1:50:31Speaker 4: order to begin that healing journey. And most of us
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: don't want to acknowledge our traumas. We want to keep
- 1:50:37Speaker 4: it bottled in. And I can say that therapy is
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: very instrumental for me because my family was like, what
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: you're going to lay on somebody's couch?
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: Fuck?
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: Because I need to talk about what this foolishness y'all
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: don't done to me. I need to get that off
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: of me. And I need to talk about it. But
- 1:50:56Speaker 4: the hardest question my therapist asked me I could not answer.
- 1:51:01Speaker 4: And it was a simple question, and the question she
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: asked me as I have been going for about three
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: weeks at that time, and she was like, Okay, you've
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: come in here, you talked to me about everything else
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: that you have done and everyone else, but I need
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: to know what do you do for you?
- 1:51:19Speaker 5: And I could not answer her.
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: And everything that was coming up was Okay, well I
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: do this, and she was like, yep, that's for someone else.
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: That's for someone else.
- 1:51:29Speaker 4: And I was like, okay, so you asking about me
- 1:51:32Speaker 4: and she was like, yes, I'm asking about you.
- 1:51:34Speaker 5: What do you do for you?
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: I was like, I'm gonna have to go home and
- 1:51:39Speaker 4: do some research and some soul searching because all I
- 1:51:44Speaker 4: knew was how to be a daughter, a mother, and
- 1:51:49Speaker 4: a wife.
- 1:51:50Speaker 5: That's all I knew.
- 1:51:51Speaker 4: I lost the identity of self and so now I'm
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: at a space in my life where I'm not about
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: to lose that for nobody. I am a mother, i
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: am a daughter, i am a friend, I'm all of
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: those things, but I'm Trevita first, and learning to do
- 1:52:09Speaker 4: that has been tough. I'm still learning how to celebrate
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: those small winds for myself, because, as I've said before,
- 1:52:20Speaker 4: I've written about four books now, but I've never had
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: a book signing, never done one at all. So I
- 1:52:29Speaker 4: got to get better at that. My accomplishments that I've had,
- 1:52:36Speaker 4: I haven't celebrated, not very many of those, and my
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: kids bus all the time.
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: I'm learning, you know.
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: It's one of those things that I will admit I
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: have not gotten there yet.
- 1:52:50Speaker 5: I'm still learning.
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: When people ask for like a little bio and I
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: write my stuff down and I'm like, Wow, I've accomplished
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: a lot, but I have I celebrated very little of
- 1:53:01Speaker 4: those accomplishments.
- 1:53:03Speaker 5: So I'm a work in progress, I admit that.
- 1:53:08Speaker 4: But this has truly been a godsend to be in
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: the space of some very amazing and powerful women. I
- 1:53:17Speaker 4: thank you guys for allowing me to be the host.
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: I still shy away, you know, but nobody ever believes
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: I'm shy when it comes to this kind of thing.
- 1:53:27Speaker 4: But I'm walking in it because God has put me
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: in this space.
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: He aligned certain things that I did not know how
- 1:53:36Speaker 5: and why.
- 1:53:37Speaker 4: When I started my college journey at the age of
- 1:53:41Speaker 4: thirty four and I had to take a public speaking class.
- 1:53:45Speaker 4: I had no idea because I was working. I was
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: going to school to be a medical receptionist, so I
- 1:53:55Speaker 4: didn't feel like I needed a public speaking class for that,
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: you know. And in my family, I've always been considered
- 1:54:02Speaker 4: the white girl, so to speak, because my English isn't
- 1:54:07Speaker 4: broken like most of my family, so it was very
- 1:54:14Speaker 4: difficult growing up. Where why are you trying to sound white?
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: I'm not. I'm just using the English language the proper way,
- 1:54:24Speaker 4: So I'm not quite sure. How does that make me white?
- 1:54:27Speaker 4: Because I enunciate my words and pronounce them correctly instead
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: of shorthanding them, I'm not the person that can speak
- 1:54:37Speaker 4: and slang. My kids think it's hilarious when I try.
- 1:54:40Speaker 4: When they come up with these off the wall sayings,
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: they don't sound right coming from me, so I don't try.
- 1:54:49Speaker 5: So you guys, this has been wonderful. So we're gonna
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: have some question and answers right now.
- 1:54:57Speaker 4: I'm not sure if I can see them or anything
- 1:55:00Speaker 4: like that, but feel free to chime in if anybody
- 1:55:03Speaker 4: any questions they want to ask each other or however,
- 1:55:08Speaker 4: I'm gonna shut up for a.
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: Second, so somebody else say something.
- 1:55:18Speaker 7: Well, I'll say, Trevita, we celebrate you. You don't have
- 1:55:22Speaker 7: to celebrate you. We celebrate you. You can do your
- 1:55:26Speaker 7: own pop up, do all your books at one time,
- 1:55:29Speaker 7: put them out there, let everybody know, call it a
- 1:55:31Speaker 7: Trevida Harris day.
- 1:55:34Speaker 4: I don't have to do that.
- 1:55:36Speaker 7: Do whatever you feel like you want to do. Just
- 1:55:38Speaker 7: keep doing you. But that's all a person that I
- 1:55:42Speaker 7: know to be an author that you have to have
- 1:55:45Speaker 7: books signed. As people know who you are, they're buying
- 1:55:48Speaker 7: your books. Sit that's and enjoy the ride because something
- 1:55:52Speaker 7: else can be frustrating. Yeah yeah, but then a lot
- 1:55:57Speaker 7: of times they're engaging because you can engage with your
- 1:56:00Speaker 7: public the people who enjoy you the most. So whatever
- 1:56:04Speaker 7: makes you feel comfortable, you go for it.
- 1:56:06Speaker 5: I think it to do a book signing.
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: I think when people meet me in person, I look
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: for some reason, they say I look tall online. I
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: don't know why, but when they see me in person,
- 1:56:18Speaker 4: they're like, oh my god, you really are that short.
- 1:56:21Speaker 5: I don't know why. It's so hard to believe. I
- 1:56:22Speaker 5: am four eight.
- 1:56:24Speaker 4: If you know what four to eight looks like, I'm
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: a miniature minus will say, like a third grader maybe
- 1:56:33Speaker 4: in person. So I'm just being real when I say
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: I'm short, you see me in person, that is what
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: it looks like. Is I'm a grown third grader. Okay,
- 1:56:43Speaker 4: I wear size three shoe. So I don't know what
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: to tell you. But I'm excited to actually do a
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: book signing, probably one day soon. It's going to be
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: this year, and it may be around my mom's birthday
- 1:56:58Speaker 4: because I'm doing a book in honor her. Her birthday's
- 1:57:04Speaker 4: July the fifth, So I'm leaning more towards that.
- 1:57:07Speaker 5: That's the idea that I have in my head.
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: I don't really know if I'm gonna put it into action,
- 1:57:13Speaker 4: but that's that's the idea that I have right now. Okay,
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: y'all gotta say something, y'all just there.
- 1:57:29Speaker 5: I just want to thank each and every one of you, ladies.
- 1:57:33Speaker 7: I think we're in all of each other and we're
- 1:57:35Speaker 7: just enjoying each other. We've actually seen each other, I
- 1:57:40Speaker 7: would show with on hiatus and we've been busy getting
- 1:57:44Speaker 7: together and if we can just sit here and not
- 1:57:46Speaker 7: have to talk to people, we just admire each other
- 1:57:49Speaker 7: from afar, yes, feeling as well, you know some of us. Yeah,
- 1:57:54Speaker 7: and we missed them.
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:57:56Speaker 7: Yes, one person in particular we can't see right now,
- 1:57:59Speaker 7: but she's the heart of this whole thing.
- 1:58:02Speaker 4: Mm hmm. She always be trying to be in the
- 1:58:04Speaker 4: back all the time. We like to see her face too.
- 1:58:07Speaker 7: Yeah, and she just wants to stay hidden. And that's okay.
- 1:58:10Speaker 7: I have on both levels. I have your number.
- 1:58:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:58:19Speaker 4: But I want to say too, I enjoy being on
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: this show today. I wouldn't speaking to be so empowered
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: a month.
- 1:58:28Speaker 7: I can sit and I can talk, but I don't
- 1:58:30Speaker 7: want to take over this show.
- 1:58:33Speaker 4: Talk. I think all of us are capable of talking
- 1:58:38Speaker 4: and taking over. You know. I know me, when I
- 1:58:42Speaker 4: get to talking about God and how good He's been
- 1:58:45Speaker 4: to me, I will talk forever because going from hearing
- 1:58:51Speaker 4: man say, just get used to not being able to
- 1:58:54Speaker 4: walk and talk and do all that kind of stuff,
- 1:58:56Speaker 4: And I'm like, I don't have to get used to you,
- 1:58:58Speaker 4: because God ain't told me that. He didn't.
- 1:59:01Speaker 5: He didn't tell me that, So I'm not listening to that.
- 1:59:05Speaker 4: But being in the presence of amazing women who really
- 1:59:11Speaker 4: and truly pour into each and every person that they
- 1:59:15Speaker 4: come in contact is truly a blessing.
- 1:59:19Speaker 5: I realized.
- 1:59:21Speaker 4: Not too long ago, I was with a friend of
- 1:59:25Speaker 4: mine and they were talking about some foolishness and I
- 1:59:31Speaker 4: had to interrupt him. I said, listen here, let me
- 1:59:33Speaker 4: let me go ahead and tell you something. I don't
- 1:59:35Speaker 4: see that stuff and I don't entertain that stuff. So
- 1:59:38Speaker 4: whatever you're talking about it, if it ain't positive, baby,
- 1:59:40Speaker 4: we can't talk because I want here what I got
- 1:59:43Speaker 4: going on in no negative space. So I don't know
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: what somebody else is doing. I don't know what Susan
- 1:59:49Speaker 4: down the street doing, and I don't know what can
- 1:59:50Speaker 4: across the world doing. I don't know about them people.
- 1:59:53Speaker 4: I know what I'm doing in this moment and in
- 1:59:55Speaker 4: this season, and you talking about some foolishness. Girl, we're
- 1:59:57Speaker 4: gonna talk about something else. Change your suf because I
- 2:00:01Speaker 4: ain't gonna do it. And she was like, mm, that's
- 2:00:04Speaker 4: how it is now for me that it is definitely
- 2:00:07Speaker 4: how it is because you're talking about some mess and
- 2:00:08Speaker 4: I ain't got time. I don't know nobody's business and
- 2:00:10Speaker 4: I don't care. So if that's what you came to
- 2:00:12Speaker 4: talk to me about, We're gonna end this conversation right now.
- 2:00:14Speaker 4: You ain't got to talk to me ever again. It's Okay,
- 2:00:17Speaker 4: I'm all right, I'm not gonna lose no sueitet behind it,
- 2:00:19Speaker 4: but you be okay with that, Okay. So I just
- 2:00:24Speaker 4: I don't know. I just I can't deal with that.
- 2:00:27Speaker 4: It drives me crazy, Like I can't even watch that.
- 2:00:30Speaker 4: My child watch that show love and hip hoip that stuff.
- 2:00:34Speaker 4: Y'all watch that show because I can't do it out
- 2:00:39Speaker 4: at holling and carrying on.
- 2:00:42Speaker 7: I watched it the you know, my daughter says that
- 2:00:45Speaker 7: I'm a queen at it. I said, you know what,
- 2:00:46Speaker 7: it just takes me away right now, and I hears
- 2:00:49Speaker 7: somebody else's problem. So it gets me through the moment
- 2:00:53Speaker 7: because I'm saying, you know, this person wants to act
- 2:00:55Speaker 7: that way, that's on them. But it's just entertainment. You know,
- 2:00:59Speaker 7: I'm not their biggest fan, but because I feel that
- 2:01:02Speaker 7: those things need to be left in their home to
- 2:01:07Speaker 7: share it on television, and if that's what they feel
- 2:01:10Speaker 7: comfortable with, then who am I to say anything that's different?
- 2:01:13Speaker 7: But them have some stuff to really trying to but
- 2:01:21Speaker 7: some and it's not just the show. It's a lot
- 2:01:24Speaker 7: of the reality shows, and it's a lot of even
- 2:01:27Speaker 7: you know, even the regular drama shows. There's some things
- 2:01:30Speaker 7: that's going on. And I guess those who's w on
- 2:01:32Speaker 7: reality shows want to share their life, but they're sharing
- 2:01:36Speaker 7: it in a way that it has broken up many families. Yeah,
- 2:01:40Speaker 7: and see, yeah, I've seen one last night and I
- 2:01:47Speaker 7: thought this couple was going to be a great couple
- 2:01:49Speaker 7: and there was some hitting agendas there, you know, me watching,
- 2:01:54Speaker 7: I was like, oh, I don't know about this one,
- 2:01:56Speaker 7: and boo, he bursted out and said what. I guess
- 2:02:00Speaker 7: that's what many people may have been thinking or feeling.
- 2:02:02Speaker 7: I won't name the show, but I'm just looking like, wow,
- 2:02:09Speaker 7: it just and my thing was this children involved.
- 2:02:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and all people understand that when children are involved,
- 2:02:18Speaker 4: it takes a different road because they get they have
- 2:02:21Speaker 4: to absorb what they're exposed to and that's not fair
- 2:02:25Speaker 4: to them.
- 2:02:26Speaker 5: And it's hard, you know. And I don't know, but
- 2:02:33Speaker 5: I just.
- 2:02:34Speaker 4: Can't get into them shows because I guess I'm already old.
- 2:02:37Speaker 4: Like I'm gonna say I'm old, I'm lame because I
- 2:02:40Speaker 4: can't deal with all that holland and carrying on, all
- 2:02:43Speaker 4: that yelling and what.
- 2:02:44Speaker 5: Are you yelling for? They sitting right in front of you.
- 2:02:46Speaker 5: You can't talk to them like you got some sense
- 2:02:49Speaker 5: like that. That's what drives me crazy.
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: I will talk.
- 2:02:52Speaker 4: You know what I watch on my TV. I'm gonna
- 2:02:54Speaker 4: tell y'all this is how old I am. I watch
- 2:02:57Speaker 4: Matt Locke and I watched The flint Stones, the main
- 2:03:02Speaker 4: two things that's almost.
- 2:03:06Speaker 7: Oh love the Flintstones. I watch it every year my
- 2:03:10Speaker 7: sister before she had passed. That's something growing up that
- 2:03:14Speaker 7: I would get out of school at three o'clock and
- 2:03:16Speaker 7: I would run home knowing as she was, and Flintstones
- 2:03:19Speaker 7: on it. She would watch it all the time and
- 2:03:22Speaker 7: I would love sitting with her. But on the anniversary
- 2:03:25Speaker 7: of her birthday every year, I watched that. And I
- 2:03:27Speaker 7: watch old bet Davis movies, black and white movies, and
- 2:03:31Speaker 7: I get my pop on them in my zone. Everybody knows,
- 2:03:33Speaker 7: don't knock on my door, don't say that's my sister
- 2:03:36Speaker 7: in that moment. And we'll watch it television together and
- 2:03:40Speaker 7: I'm still saying as.
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: If she's in.
- 2:03:43Speaker 7: Yeah, there she go watching in the sand, and it's
- 2:03:46Speaker 7: the same thing over and over, and it's oneness with her.
- 2:03:51Speaker 7: That's the moments, and that's did I get to feel,
- 2:03:55Speaker 7: specially with her, And at times it brings me back
- 2:03:58Speaker 7: to being a little girl, know when that she's there
- 2:04:02Speaker 7: watching me, you know, but I look up and I said,
- 2:04:05Speaker 7: I wish that you me now actually here with me
- 2:04:10Speaker 7: where we can touch each other, because I just want to.
- 2:04:13Speaker 7: I hope that you're proud of me, that you're proud
- 2:04:17Speaker 7: of me, because you may not have known it, but
- 2:04:23Speaker 7: you were and still are someone that looked up to
- 2:04:28Speaker 7: no matter what. We had our ups and downs. Boy
- 2:04:31Speaker 7: did we have them. She's I still say. She is
- 2:04:35Speaker 7: eight years older than me, and I had custody of
- 2:04:40Speaker 7: her daughter when I was in high school. Okay, that
- 2:04:44Speaker 7: wasn't something I think that she was happy with. But
- 2:04:46Speaker 7: when my mom got sick at them crying, I don't
- 2:04:52Speaker 7: know she was in there first. I was in there,
- 2:04:54Speaker 7: but I know one of us didn't. We didn't feel
- 2:04:56Speaker 7: comfortable being in there with each other at that moment.
- 2:04:58Speaker 7: And then we stopped. Realized that it wasn't about either one
- 2:05:01Speaker 7: of us. It was about our mom, and we wanted
- 2:05:05Speaker 7: to and I found closing, and I believe she did too.
- 2:05:10Speaker 7: You know, she always thought that I hated her. I
- 2:05:15Speaker 7: didn't hate you. I said, I took care of your
- 2:05:17Speaker 7: daughter because I loved you so much, and I did
- 2:05:19Speaker 7: not want her to go into care. And I said,
- 2:05:22Speaker 7: do you remember that time when you she bought it up?
- 2:05:25Speaker 7: You remember the time when you wanted to go with
- 2:05:28Speaker 7: me and my friends and I told you to go
- 2:05:29Speaker 7: in the house and asked, mommy, could you go? And
- 2:05:32Speaker 7: when I went downstairs, my mother said yes. But when
- 2:05:34Speaker 7: I got downstairs, they were gone, and that they had left.
- 2:05:38Speaker 7: But she had told me reason why they left because
- 2:05:40Speaker 7: she didn't want me to be where they were going. Okay,
- 2:05:44Speaker 7: I did not know as a child, Okay, and you
- 2:05:47Speaker 7: know what I was just about thinking of her. Yeah,
- 2:05:50Speaker 7: but she then told me that day in the bathroom
- 2:05:53Speaker 7: of why, and I would have never have known if
- 2:05:58Speaker 7: we weren't in that day in that bathroom balling, you know,
- 2:06:02Speaker 7: from we we found closure, and I was I'm just
- 2:06:05Speaker 7: so grateful to know that we closure. And I find myself,
- 2:06:13Speaker 7: you know, with the family members that I I that
- 2:06:16Speaker 7: had passed on to get upset with me, but I said,
- 2:06:20Speaker 7: I miss her the most.
- 2:06:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and my husband had.
- 2:06:24Speaker 7: Passed, but it's nothing like the relationship and have with
- 2:06:28Speaker 7: a sibling. M h at further than my husband and
- 2:06:32Speaker 7: I did, even though he and I but I can
- 2:06:35Speaker 7: tell her things that I would never tell him.
- 2:06:37Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 2:06:38Speaker 7: You know, and to this day they're together and they
- 2:06:41Speaker 7: probably up there talking about me like a dog now,
- 2:06:43Speaker 7: But that's okay. You know, can't and you know, to
- 2:06:46Speaker 7: keep her straight while she's up because you know, she
- 2:06:48Speaker 7: ain't gonna do anything that's gonna get into trouble where
- 2:06:50Speaker 7: y'all at. So and that's the things that I have.
- 2:06:53Speaker 7: And I sit back and I laugh about my kids say,
- 2:06:56Speaker 7: I know where you're at. When they see me grinning
- 2:06:59Speaker 7: and laughing, I'm I'm I'm gonna go to space and
- 2:07:01Speaker 7: I'm a good place them, and I know that they're
- 2:07:04Speaker 7: thinking about me.
- 2:07:07Speaker 4: Yeah, having closure with a family member, like I'm grateful
- 2:07:12Speaker 4: that I was there with my mom. We got to
- 2:07:15Speaker 4: heal some wounds that from childhood that were tough for
- 2:07:20Speaker 4: me because she was in and out a lot. And
- 2:07:24Speaker 4: what I realized during her transition and more so since
- 2:07:27Speaker 4: she's been gone, is the things that my mother was
- 2:07:30Speaker 4: teaching me that I didn't even realize she was teaching
- 2:07:33Speaker 4: me all along, and that was how to do life
- 2:07:36Speaker 4: without her, because she would pop up, you know, every
- 2:07:42Speaker 4: three to six months, sometimes a year would pass and
- 2:07:46Speaker 4: as I got older, like my mom, I always made
- 2:07:49Speaker 4: a space for her in my in my home, and
- 2:07:52Speaker 4: in my life. And the final six months that I
- 2:07:55Speaker 4: had with her, I got to show her the love
- 2:08:01Speaker 4: that she deserved that didn't cost her pain, that she
- 2:08:06Speaker 4: didn't have to go through physical pain to understand that
- 2:08:10Speaker 4: she was loved by me. And I will be completely honest,
- 2:08:14Speaker 4: I did not want to take on the responsibility because
- 2:08:19Speaker 4: I didn't know if I had the strength to be
- 2:08:22Speaker 4: there for her. But I knew that I was going
- 2:08:25Speaker 4: to be the only one that could handle what my
- 2:08:29Speaker 4: mom was going through, and being the oldest of her
- 2:08:33Speaker 4: four children, my younger two siblings were placed in foster care.
- 2:08:37Speaker 4: When I was about fourteen. My brother ended up moving
- 2:08:41Speaker 4: with my dad, so it was me and so I
- 2:08:47Speaker 4: got to see my mom in so many different stages,
- 2:08:52Speaker 4: and I loved her despite her addiction, despite the harsh
- 2:08:59Speaker 4: things that she said to me. As I said before,
- 2:09:03Speaker 4: I was always a smart mouth little kid. My mom
- 2:09:06Speaker 4: had came to the house, I hadn't seen her in
- 2:09:08Speaker 4: a couple months, and I went running.
- 2:09:11Speaker 5: Out to where I was about twelve years old, went running.
- 2:09:13Speaker 4: Out to her, trying to give her a hug, and
- 2:09:15Speaker 4: the first thing she said to me was that I
- 2:09:17Speaker 4: wish you were dead.
- 2:09:19Speaker 5: I wish I'd never had you. And me being.
- 2:09:24Speaker 4: Who I am, I said, well, I think it's a
- 2:09:28Speaker 4: little late for you to do that now, and I mean,
- 2:09:30Speaker 4: you can't really have an abortion, that would be murder.
- 2:09:33Speaker 4: So which one are you gonna do? And so my
- 2:09:38Speaker 4: mama say, just get out of my face, I don't
- 2:09:41Speaker 4: even want to talk to you.
- 2:09:42Speaker 5: Well, I'm just asking a question.
- 2:09:43Speaker 4: I don't think you want to wear an orange jumpsuit
- 2:09:45Speaker 4: for something you can't really do anything else about. But
- 2:09:51Speaker 4: going through the transition with my mom, we learned to
- 2:09:54Speaker 4: laugh at those moments. And my mom told me that
- 2:09:58Speaker 4: I was on the phone with Ton and Tanya had
- 2:10:01Speaker 4: said something and I didn't agree with what she was doing.
- 2:10:05Speaker 5: And my mama said, I couldn't be your friend. I said,
- 2:10:08Speaker 5: what you mean?
- 2:10:09Speaker 4: She said, because you don't know how to show any tap.
- 2:10:14Speaker 4: You just are very blunt with what it is that
- 2:10:17Speaker 4: you have to say. I said, well, Mama, what she's
- 2:10:20Speaker 4: doing right now? I said, you didn't hear what she
- 2:10:21Speaker 4: said to me on the phone. I said, and there
- 2:10:23Speaker 4: was very stupid, and I called it for what it was.
- 2:10:26Speaker 4: I said, now, I can be sensitive to it, but
- 2:10:30Speaker 4: sensitivity is not what she needs in this moment. And
- 2:10:32Speaker 4: I'm just gonna go ahead and tell her. She said, well,
- 2:10:35Speaker 4: I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you I couldn't
- 2:10:36Speaker 4: be your friend. I said, well, you're not my friend.
- 2:10:38Speaker 4: You my mom.
- 2:10:39Speaker 5: So now I think we both even. So that was
- 2:10:44Speaker 5: how me and my mama had.
- 2:10:45Speaker 4: Our relationship, and I'm grateful that I got to spend
- 2:10:49Speaker 4: that time.
- 2:10:50Speaker 8: Now.
- 2:10:50Speaker 5: I did not know.
- 2:10:52Speaker 4: The strength that I was gonna need, but God provided everything,
- 2:10:59Speaker 4: and I pray a prayer and I asked God, I said,
- 2:11:02Speaker 4: make sure that I don't miss the lessons that she's
- 2:11:06Speaker 4: trying to teach me in this time. Make sure that
- 2:11:09Speaker 4: even if I don't see them today, that when I'm
- 2:11:13Speaker 4: having my moments and I'm missing her, that whatever she
- 2:11:17Speaker 4: was teaching me, I'm able to pick it up and
- 2:11:19Speaker 4: understand what is necessary.
- 2:11:22Speaker 5: And when I say.
- 2:11:25Speaker 4: I have been picking up those things that she was
- 2:11:28Speaker 4: teaching me when I would go and see her every day,
- 2:11:33Speaker 4: no matter how tired I was, I think I missed
- 2:11:35Speaker 4: probably about three visits with her. Two was because she
- 2:11:38Speaker 4: told me not to bring my behind up there. But
- 2:11:40Speaker 4: she used other words in saying that it wasn't don't
- 2:11:46Speaker 4: bring your behind. You know what I mean when I
- 2:11:48Speaker 4: say she used other exploratives to tell me, don't come
- 2:11:52Speaker 4: up there, stay at home and rest and then you
- 2:11:56Speaker 4: can come tomorrow. But that woman taught me a lot,
- 2:12:02Speaker 4: and she showed me what resilience was because she lived
- 2:12:06Speaker 4: a life that people had already counted her out, called
- 2:12:13Speaker 4: her crazy, called her everything but a child of God.
- 2:12:18Speaker 5: But I know that my mom made it right before
- 2:12:20Speaker 5: she left this earth.
- 2:12:21Speaker 4: She got to know God on the level that was
- 2:12:24Speaker 4: necessary for her, and so when she did take that
- 2:12:27Speaker 4: final breath, she was at peace and she wasn't fighting.
- 2:12:33Speaker 5: On this side anymore.
- 2:12:34Speaker 4: So healing, grief, empowerment, alignment, resilience, trauma no more are
- 2:12:41Speaker 4: all things that we go through daily in this life.
- 2:12:45Speaker 4: And a lot of times we want to run from
- 2:12:47Speaker 4: a lot of them because we don't want to have
- 2:12:51Speaker 4: to face it. But if you allow yourself to be
- 2:12:56Speaker 4: present and be honest with yourself and be vulner with yourself,
- 2:13:01Speaker 4: I think a lot of us have a problem with
- 2:13:03Speaker 4: being vulnerable with ourselves and saying when we're not okay,
- 2:13:09Speaker 4: because we're not used to being able to say today
- 2:13:12Speaker 4: I'm not okay.
- 2:13:13Speaker 5: I'm not good.
- 2:13:15Speaker 4: I've learned even when during that transition I had to
- 2:13:21Speaker 4: learn when I was writing my book Overcoming Childhood Trauma,
- 2:13:26Speaker 4: My Journey to Healing.
- 2:13:28Speaker 5: When I was writing.
- 2:13:29Speaker 4: That book, I realized just how much trauma I was
- 2:13:32Speaker 4: holding on to and how much I was passing on
- 2:13:37Speaker 4: my traumas to my kids. And I had to apologize
- 2:13:41Speaker 4: to my kids because my kids looked at me and
- 2:13:44Speaker 4: they still do, as Superwoman, because they never saw me cry.
- 2:13:48Speaker 4: The only time my children ever saw me cry was
- 2:13:51Speaker 4: when I was an excruciating pain, and that was due
- 2:13:54Speaker 4: to my keri headaches and my migraines. But I had
- 2:13:59Speaker 4: to apologize to them because they needed to see the
- 2:14:01Speaker 4: vulnerability in a woman and in their mother, and they
- 2:14:05Speaker 4: didn't get to see that. And so when I was
- 2:14:08Speaker 4: dealing with my mom, my youngest son, as I told you, guys,
- 2:14:11Speaker 4: he is like the father of all of us, and
- 2:14:14Speaker 4: I was trying to hold back my tears, and he said,
- 2:14:19Speaker 4: I've known you to be strong my whole life.
- 2:14:22Speaker 5: Now is not the time for you to do that.
- 2:14:24Speaker 4: You need to let it go and it's okay to cry,
- 2:14:27Speaker 4: It's okay to feel the emotions that you're feeling.
- 2:14:31Speaker 5: You don't have to be strong in this moment. It's okay.
- 2:14:35Speaker 5: And that was something that I needed.
- 2:14:39Speaker 4: But I didn't think that information was going to come
- 2:14:41Speaker 4: from my then twenty one year old but he allowed
- 2:14:47Speaker 4: me to understand that the emotions that I was feeling
- 2:14:50Speaker 4: was necessary and it was okay to release that. But
- 2:14:56Speaker 4: I also knew where I got those things in because
- 2:15:03Speaker 4: my mom was in the middle of getting her bandages
- 2:15:06Speaker 4: changed and it was painful, and I was holding her
- 2:15:10Speaker 4: hand and I told my mom, I said, listen, you
- 2:15:12Speaker 4: can you can scream, you can cry, you can yell,
- 2:15:14Speaker 4: you can cuss, you can do whatever you need to
- 2:15:16Speaker 4: do because it's painful. And my mom looked at me
- 2:15:20Speaker 4: and she said, I don't know how to release it.
- 2:15:23Speaker 5: I don't know how to let go of this pain.
- 2:15:27Speaker 4: I don't know how because most of her life, through
- 2:15:31Speaker 4: the family that we were raised in, never allowed her
- 2:15:35Speaker 4: to release her anger without being called crazy.
- 2:15:41Speaker 5: So that's tough.
- 2:15:44Speaker 4: You know that that's a hard space to be in,
- 2:15:47Speaker 4: to not be allowed to feel the pain when someone
- 2:15:51Speaker 4: else is inflicting the pain, So you know it's trauma
- 2:16:00Speaker 4: can cause you to bleed on people that never cut
- 2:16:03Speaker 4: you if you don't acknowledge where the pain is coming from.
- 2:16:07Speaker 4: Almost almost stop talking. I'm gonna let you all talk. Okay,
- 2:16:11Speaker 4: somebody else say something?
- 2:16:13Speaker 1: Amen?
- 2:16:14Speaker 3: Amen? Amen?
- 2:16:15Speaker 2: I think Shaneia wanted to say something. Shi, did you
- 2:16:22Speaker 2: want to just say something?
- 2:16:24Speaker 4: Can y'all hear me?
- 2:16:26Speaker 8: Oh?
- 2:16:27Speaker 4: Okay, No, I just want to just thank everyone for
- 2:16:31Speaker 4: just you know, being a month.
- 2:16:33Speaker 6: So you know, beautiful, do you have jogged a couple
- 2:16:37Speaker 6: of memories when you was talking?
- 2:16:40Speaker 1: When you were sharing Shi was talking. I remember at
- 2:16:46Speaker 1: a time my son was in the hospital.
- 2:16:51Speaker 6: I had received a phone call from the cardiologists and
- 2:16:59Speaker 6: they basically wrote him off. But then I received another
- 2:17:07Speaker 6: phone call from a bless black cardiologist and he told me.
- 2:17:15Speaker 6: He said, ma'am, he said, if I send your son
- 2:17:23Speaker 6: he would die within two days. I'm an keep him.
- 2:17:29Speaker 6: So I told him, okay, you know that's fine. I
- 2:17:33Speaker 6: would prefer to have him in the hospital then at home.
- 2:17:38Speaker 6: And God allowed my son to live a whole year.
- 2:17:44Speaker 6: They had sent him home with he had oxygen taints and.
- 2:17:51Speaker 1: Everything. They put him on hospice.
- 2:17:57Speaker 6: But when I tell you, Kyle, and I've seen God
- 2:18:04Speaker 6: working and because I was like, oh, Lord, you don't
- 2:18:08Speaker 6: you don't heal my baby? Look at my baby. He
- 2:18:10Speaker 6: only he he only used the oxygen one time. But
- 2:18:16Speaker 6: I'm thinking that God done. You know that healed him
- 2:18:20Speaker 6: because Kyle don't. When brought him some inline skates and
- 2:18:24Speaker 6: this boy skating up me down street, then he don't
- 2:18:29Speaker 6: want and got any more bike. Now he's biking up
- 2:18:32Speaker 6: and down the street. He dragging up and down the
- 2:18:36Speaker 6: street with no I had fifteen percent sent supposed to
- 2:18:41Speaker 6: have been on oxygen. He was exercising. Kyle was was
- 2:18:47Speaker 6: doing what Kylee wanted to do. He was living his life.
- 2:18:54Speaker 6: He lived his life to the fullest. I mean he
- 2:18:58Speaker 6: would just get up in the morning and he would
- 2:19:02Speaker 6: egg bake me. He would when I'm leaving to go
- 2:19:05Speaker 6: to work, he'd just start crawing like a rooster and
- 2:19:09Speaker 6: it would make it would annoy me where I would
- 2:19:12Speaker 6: just start fussing at me. But I say this, God
- 2:19:19Speaker 6: is so awesome.
- 2:19:21Speaker 1: He is so amazing.
- 2:19:25Speaker 6: And as I sit here and I'm listening to what
- 2:19:29Speaker 6: you were saying, and God just showing me he brong
- 2:19:34Speaker 6: Kyle back to me the moments of the KYO last moments,
- 2:19:39Speaker 6: how Kyle was living and he was, and he just
- 2:19:43Speaker 6: showed me.
- 2:19:45Speaker 1: And then he showed.
- 2:19:47Speaker 6: Me what Kyo was going through when he sat in
- 2:19:51Speaker 6: the bathroom on the on the edge of the bathtub
- 2:19:56Speaker 6: running hot water to make a little steam because he
- 2:20:00Speaker 6: couldn't breathe, and he was sitting there for hours, and
- 2:20:05Speaker 6: I would pray for God. I would pray to God
- 2:20:07Speaker 6: to heal my son. Lord, heal my son. So now
- 2:20:11Speaker 6: you know, while he's sitting on the baptub can't breathe,
- 2:20:14Speaker 6: I'm praying for healing. But then when I'm seen out
- 2:20:18Speaker 6: here running and skating and doing everything else, I'm saying, Okay, God,
- 2:20:26Speaker 6: you done healed it. But then when November tenth come
- 2:20:31Speaker 6: and I find my baby on responsive, now I'm like,
- 2:20:37Speaker 6: you done, take.
- 2:20:38Speaker 1: My child, but not knowing that my prayer was for
- 2:20:47Speaker 1: my son to be completely healed.
- 2:20:53Speaker 6: And God completely healed my son by taking by removing
- 2:21:03Speaker 6: him out of this earthly body and giving him a
- 2:21:08Speaker 6: glorified body that has no more pain, where he's not
- 2:21:14Speaker 6: on thirty pills a day, where he don't have to
- 2:21:18Speaker 6: run hot water.
- 2:21:19Speaker 1: Now my son heart.
- 2:21:23Speaker 6: Is healed, and now I can begin my journey and
- 2:21:33Speaker 6: completely healing because and letting him rest because I know
- 2:21:39Speaker 6: one day I will see him on the other.
- 2:21:43Speaker 1: Side, you know, And you guys, don't it.
- 2:21:51Speaker 6: A journey for me and it been hard for me
- 2:21:56Speaker 6: to accept the fact, but I'm I have accepted and
- 2:22:07Speaker 6: I know Kyle is at peace because the Corners told
- 2:22:12Speaker 6: me she had called me and she was like, miss Johnson,
- 2:22:18Speaker 6: I looked over your baby and it wasn't no traumating.
- 2:22:25Speaker 6: He was in no distress. He just went peacefully. When
- 2:22:31Speaker 6: he closed his eyes, he just went to sleep. And
- 2:22:35Speaker 6: so I know God, God did what he said, He
- 2:22:41Speaker 6: did what he promised.
- 2:22:43Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 2:22:44Speaker 6: He did what I asked. He healed my baby, and
- 2:22:49Speaker 6: so now it's time for me to heal myself.
- 2:22:55Speaker 1: And live.
- 2:23:02Speaker 4: It's one thing that God he will heal us on
- 2:23:05Speaker 4: this side or the other side.
- 2:23:07Speaker 5: But when God is ready for us, it's gonna happen.
- 2:23:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:23:12Speaker 4: Like I said, our life is a complete puzzle God,
- 2:23:16Speaker 4: and that puzzle for us is incomplete until He puts
- 2:23:21Speaker 4: that final piece for our family together. And so you
- 2:23:26Speaker 4: won't know what your final peace looks like. You'll only
- 2:23:29Speaker 4: know from the date you were born to what you
- 2:23:31Speaker 4: do in between. And when God heals us on his side,
- 2:23:37Speaker 4: we are made whole, you know, And oftentimes we often
- 2:23:42Speaker 4: think if I had just a little bit more time,
- 2:23:45Speaker 4: if I had one more day, one more hour, one
- 2:23:48Speaker 4: more minute, one more second.
- 2:23:50Speaker 5: That's not God's plan.
- 2:23:52Speaker 4: You can't go against what God has for anybody else,
- 2:23:56Speaker 4: not even ourselves. So when God calls us home, you
- 2:24:01Speaker 4: have to be also ready prepared. So we got to
- 2:24:06Speaker 4: do what we need to do in getting ourselves in order.
- 2:24:11Speaker 4: As the song says, I pray we all be ready,
- 2:24:14Speaker 4: you know, because when He comes, we need to be
- 2:24:19Speaker 4: ready for him. And grieving it's a never ending cycle.
- 2:24:25Speaker 4: Today it's acceptance, Tomorrow it may be anger again. But
- 2:24:30Speaker 4: that's the process, and it's okay no matter how many
- 2:24:34Speaker 4: times you have to repeat that cycle.
- 2:24:36Speaker 5: Because death is an adjustment. It's a moment by moment.
- 2:24:41Speaker 4: It's not time will heal this wound, it's a void
- 2:24:47Speaker 4: because the love that you have for them, the love
- 2:24:49Speaker 4: that you want them to feel, that you want to
- 2:24:52Speaker 4: give to them, they're not here to feel it. So
- 2:24:56Speaker 4: make sure you love on the ones that you do
- 2:24:58Speaker 4: still have so that they feel it in those final moments,
- 2:25:02Speaker 4: because we don't know what that person is thinking when
- 2:25:05Speaker 4: they're talking to God. During that time, we don't know
- 2:25:09Speaker 4: that conversation, and it's okay for us not to know
- 2:25:12Speaker 4: that conversation. But if we are able to tell our
- 2:25:15Speaker 4: loved ones while we have them that we love them,
- 2:25:17Speaker 4: they will feel it when they're making that transition in
- 2:25:20Speaker 4: there taking that final breath.
- 2:25:22Speaker 5: Just be okay.
- 2:25:24Speaker 4: With understanding that the time that God allowed each of
- 2:25:28Speaker 4: us to mingle with each other, it was necessary and
- 2:25:32Speaker 4: it was purposeful. Just like today, everything that is being
- 2:25:36Speaker 4: said and the ears that are listening, they're getting touched
- 2:25:40Speaker 4: by God. We are all his vessels. We are walking
- 2:25:44Speaker 4: in the purpose in which He has created us to be.
- 2:25:48Speaker 4: So understand that it may be hard, it may be tough.
- 2:25:53Speaker 4: Healing is not easy for any of us. And continue
- 2:25:57Speaker 4: to walk on the path that God has for for you.
- 2:26:01Speaker 4: So miss Shanaria, you can go ahead and say what
- 2:26:04Speaker 4: you were gonna say, sweetheart. Y'all can hear me? Y'all
- 2:26:13Speaker 4: can hear me?
- 2:26:15Speaker 5: Yes, ma'am?
- 2:26:16Speaker 4: Okay, okay, oh okay, Yeah. I just want to say,
- 2:26:22Speaker 4: you know, just you know, being on the platform this
- 2:26:27Speaker 4: morning have really you guys are some powerful women and
- 2:26:31Speaker 4: I just want to thank God for allowing me to
- 2:26:34Speaker 4: be a monthst of you ladies. Y'all, keep pushing, y'all,
- 2:26:39Speaker 4: keep doing what God allow y'all to do, keep walking
- 2:26:43Speaker 4: in your purpose because it's great and I see greatness
- 2:26:46Speaker 4: in all of you. So I just want to say
- 2:26:49Speaker 4: thank you for allowing me to be on this platform
- 2:26:51Speaker 4: this morning. Thank you for being here because you're through
- 2:27:00Speaker 4: empowerment and understanding your vulnerability with everything that you've gone through,
- 2:27:06Speaker 4: and being transparent and honest with their kids. I think
- 2:27:11Speaker 4: as black women, we don't always want to be honest.
- 2:27:15Speaker 5: Especially the generations before us would always say what happens
- 2:27:19Speaker 5: in this house stays in this house, and I don't
- 2:27:23Speaker 5: live by that. Because whatever is happening in this house
- 2:27:25Speaker 5: and it's hurting me, baby, we're gonna talk about it.
- 2:27:28Speaker 8: You know.
- 2:27:28Speaker 4: And I've always been honest and upfront with my children.
- 2:27:32Speaker 4: From experiencing rape at the age of fourteen and dealing
- 2:27:37Speaker 4: with all of those things, I've always been very open
- 2:27:40Speaker 4: and honest with my children about my experiences because I
- 2:27:45Speaker 4: didn't want them to have to encounter what I went through.
- 2:27:48Speaker 4: And one thing people used to get so upset with
- 2:27:51Speaker 4: me when, like my kids, as they've gotten older, I
- 2:27:56Speaker 4: always feel like, Okay, you know when teenagers they get
- 2:27:59Speaker 4: to be teenagers, they don't I want a mama hug
- 2:28:00Speaker 4: and I all loan them and stuff like that. My
- 2:28:03Speaker 4: kids are the complete opposite hunter they get upset if
- 2:28:06Speaker 4: they ain't got no hug for me, and I just
- 2:28:08Speaker 4: you know, it's just one of those things.
- 2:28:10Speaker 8: But I.
- 2:28:14Speaker 4: Walked through the space with my children of being always
- 2:28:18Speaker 4: upfront and honest with everything that has happened to me
- 2:28:22Speaker 4: because I want them to understand that, yes, I gave
- 2:28:27Speaker 4: birth to them, but love has nothing to do with
- 2:28:30Speaker 4: our relationship. And people would be like, why would you
- 2:28:34Speaker 4: say that? Because my mother gave birth to me, but
- 2:28:37Speaker 4: that didn't mean she loved me because I never felt it.
- 2:28:41Speaker 4: I didn't know what love looked like for her. I
- 2:28:45Speaker 4: didn't know what love looked like for her until I
- 2:28:48Speaker 4: spent those final six months with her. Love for her
- 2:28:53Speaker 4: looked like pain because it was always physical. Hurt had
- 2:28:58Speaker 4: to come in order for her to feel love. And
- 2:29:01Speaker 4: so my kids didn't have to experience that type of
- 2:29:05Speaker 4: pain in order for me to know and show them
- 2:29:08Speaker 4: love and appreciation. Like my kids, when we cook or
- 2:29:13Speaker 4: do anything for each other, it's always thank you, you know.
- 2:29:17Speaker 4: I appreciate you cooking my meal. I appreciate this, and
- 2:29:20Speaker 4: I get on people's nerves because I say thank you
- 2:29:22Speaker 4: for everything, and I might say it twenty times. You
- 2:29:26Speaker 4: may get annoyed by me saying thank you, but you gonna.
- 2:29:28Speaker 5: Know I appreciate you.
- 2:29:30Speaker 4: You know, you just might as well just ignore me,
- 2:29:32Speaker 4: because I'm gonna say it twenty times. Thank you, I
- 2:29:35Speaker 4: appreciate you, I adore you, I honor you. All of
- 2:29:38Speaker 4: those things simply because I know what it feels like
- 2:29:42Speaker 4: to not be appreciated, to not be acknowledged. So I
- 2:29:46Speaker 4: never want anybody who's in my space to feel like
- 2:29:51Speaker 4: I'm not appreciative of anything. If you bought me a
- 2:29:54Speaker 4: twenty cent candy ball or a piece of gum or something, honey,
- 2:29:57Speaker 4: I'm gonna tell you thank you, and I'm gonna remember that,
- 2:29:59Speaker 4: did you. You did that for me, and I'm gonna
- 2:30:01Speaker 4: do something else for somebody else, I'm gonna do it
- 2:30:03Speaker 4: for you. That's just how I am, because I know
- 2:30:06Speaker 4: that feeling of not being appreciated and not being acknowledged.
- 2:30:11Speaker 4: Those things go with you for a long time. So
- 2:30:15Speaker 4: all of these things that we've talked about are matters
- 2:30:18Speaker 4: of the heart, and they are a true testament of
- 2:30:22Speaker 4: knowing that each and everything is connected to the fiber
- 2:30:26Speaker 4: of who we are. And so when knowing what connects
- 2:30:30Speaker 4: to what, you can begin to break those generational purses.
- 2:30:34Speaker 4: You can begin to heal that trauma that you've experienced
- 2:30:39Speaker 4: throughout your life. If you choose to hold on to it,
- 2:30:43Speaker 4: then you have to understand the consequences of holding on
- 2:30:46Speaker 4: to that hurt when you are still unhappy with self
- 2:30:52Speaker 4: and you keep wondering, well, why is this always happening
- 2:30:55Speaker 4: to me? Also, be mindful of the environment that you're in.
- 2:31:00Speaker 4: Once bad apples foils a bunch, if you put some
- 2:31:03Speaker 4: fruit in a bowl, and when something starts to rot
- 2:31:05Speaker 4: and go bad, if it's in that environment, understand that
- 2:31:11Speaker 4: that becomes what you end up being as well. So
- 2:31:15Speaker 4: if you want positive things to happen, Number one, start
- 2:31:19Speaker 4: speaking to yourself in a more positive way. If you
- 2:31:22Speaker 4: want better, do better. But don't blame your environment for
- 2:31:26Speaker 4: the choices that you make. Because if you continuously to
- 2:31:30Speaker 4: stay in an environment that you know is not good
- 2:31:33Speaker 4: for you, that it's unhealthy for you, then you get
- 2:31:36Speaker 4: what you put in there.
- 2:31:38Speaker 5: Get out of it.
- 2:31:40Speaker 4: Make better choice to speak to yourself in a more
- 2:31:42Speaker 4: positive way. Get to people that's pouring into your cup
- 2:31:46Speaker 4: and not leaving you deplete it, because when you're empty,
- 2:31:49Speaker 4: you can't give nothing to nobody else. You can't give
- 2:31:52Speaker 4: nothing and they can't receive nothing. Stop staying in spaces
- 2:31:57Speaker 4: that deplete you. And it's okay to tell people without
- 2:32:00Speaker 4: an explanation. It's okay to tell people, now you go
- 2:32:03Speaker 4: on cross the street and stay over there, don't come
- 2:32:05Speaker 4: over here. I ain't got nothing funny. It's okay to
- 2:32:07Speaker 4: tell them that. Okay, I understand it because I don't
- 2:32:10Speaker 4: mind telling you. You don't got on my nerves and
- 2:32:12Speaker 4: I ain't got nothing to do with you that gon
- 2:32:14Speaker 4: go don't stay across the street now gone go on
- 2:32:16Speaker 4: over there and sit out. If I want you, I'll
- 2:32:18Speaker 4: call you if I If you ain't heard from me, baby,
- 2:32:20Speaker 4: we ain't got nothing to talk about it. And it's okay.
- 2:32:22Speaker 5: It don't mean I don't love you no more. It's
- 2:32:24Speaker 5: just we ain't got nothing in common no more.
- 2:32:26Speaker 4: It's okay. And I've been good with knowing that it's
- 2:32:31Speaker 4: okay to set these boundaries. It's okay for me to
- 2:32:34Speaker 4: tell you no and not have to explain why I
- 2:32:36Speaker 4: said no. No, ain't but two letters. And if you
- 2:32:38Speaker 4: can't understand the end of the OH, I ain't got
- 2:32:40Speaker 4: nothing funny. Okay, I ain't got nothing funny. It's the
- 2:32:42Speaker 4: end and the OH. You can put them together however
- 2:32:45Speaker 4: you want to. It can be on and it can
- 2:32:47Speaker 4: be no, whichever one you want to do. I don't care,
- 2:32:50Speaker 4: but I ain't got nothing to do with that. It's
- 2:32:52Speaker 4: your interpretation of it. But I know what I told you,
- 2:32:54Speaker 4: and I told you no, so you know. But anybody
- 2:32:58Speaker 4: else want to say something, well, I.
- 2:33:10Speaker 3: Want to thank everyone for joining us on today.
- 2:33:13Speaker 2: I tell you I have truly truly been blessed just
- 2:33:18Speaker 2: hearing all of your journeys, just hearing all of your
- 2:33:24Speaker 2: heart felt testimonies and just pouring from your heart. And
- 2:33:28Speaker 2: so I thank you guys, Treda, thank you for hosting.

- 2:33:58Speaker 2: I hope that those that hurt us live those that
- 2:34:02Speaker 2: were here the replay, I hope that they are touched empowered.
- 2:34:07Speaker 2: I hope that they were able to take some nuggets
- 2:34:09Speaker 2: away that they can incorporate into their day to day.
- 2:34:14Speaker 2: Thank you for sharing your voices to pave the way
- 2:34:17Speaker 2: for healing, growth and transformation on today, as we attend
- 2:34:22Speaker 2: to the matters of the heart, because that's.
- 2:34:25Speaker 3: What God do, He attend to the matters of the heart.
- 2:34:28Speaker 2: Again, I want to thank everyone for joining us on today, Tavida,
- 2:34:33Speaker 2: I turn it over to you to close.

- 2:34:52Speaker 5: We are not stuck up to die any kind of folks.
- 2:34:55Speaker 5: We reach out, we talk back. You know.
- 2:34:57Speaker 4: We are here to uplift up, current, encourage and inspire
- 2:35:01Speaker 4: each and every person that comes to us. Because it's
- 2:35:03Speaker 4: always by God's design, not by coincidence, that we are
- 2:35:08Speaker 4: together in the time in which He calls us to be.
- 2:35:10Speaker 4: We are always on assignment for God and continue to
- 2:35:14Speaker 4: walk in the purpose in which God has created you.
- 2:35:16Speaker 4: And I'm gonna end with this like I always do,
- 2:35:19Speaker 4: and that is stay out of God's business because the
- 2:35:22Speaker 4: only thing he needs you to do is be obedient
- 2:35:24Speaker 4: to what He's called you to do. I thank you
- 2:35:26Speaker 4: all for tuning in tonight and continue to walk in
- 2:35:29Speaker 4: the purpose and which God has created you.
- 2:35:31Speaker 5: I love you, talk to you later.
