- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench went to Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Say, Hester and Hester got it fine a pat.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to and Natty to carrying each other.
- 0:11Speaker 1: On the air live from the Raising Caine Studio, it's
- 0:19Speaker 1: off the bench, all.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Right, welcome back here our number three on a Wednesday morning,
- 0:33Speaker 3: Off the bench laughing the Raisin Kine studio at Chris
- 0:35Speaker 3: Marler and the co host chair. We got Lady Kane
- 0:37Speaker 3: chilling just watching, doing absolutely nothing. A laundre crushing it.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Welcome back, Tay Tay, father of the year year, holding
- 0:45Speaker 3: it down slim pickens this year. I guess that's not
- 0:49Speaker 3: a lot of new father.
- 0:50Speaker 4: It's fun.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'll take what I can get. I'm a couple of
- 0:54Speaker 3: days off a line, Drew. I know it's sometimes slow
- 0:57Speaker 3: to get back in the groove. Like you came in here.
- 1:00Speaker 5: I was ready to go.
- 1:01Speaker 4: You're zero to sixty.
- 1:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I was ready to go.
- 1:05Speaker 4: So I'm talking about Tesla. Oh no, they go fast.
- 1:09Speaker 4: They fast.
- 1:10Speaker 5: You could compared me to any of them.
- 1:11Speaker 3: They go fast, real fast. They can get the sixty
- 1:13Speaker 3: faster than.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Than what a muscle car.
- 1:17Speaker 6: Can they sure? Yeah they can?
- 1:19Speaker 4: Yeah, pretty sure.
- 1:19Speaker 7: They do it all the time, they're not as ergonomically.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Now, just go, don't let them drive for you. There
- 1:27Speaker 4: you'll get Coyle stanahands.
- 1:29Speaker 5: That's what that was.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Like.
- 1:30Speaker 5: My biggest confusion about that I will never get in
- 1:35Speaker 5: a way mos Ever.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I was at practice yesterday then the middle school football
- 1:42Speaker 3: practice watching it. Three Amazon droids different times, buzzing over
- 1:48Speaker 3: our heads. Drones, drones, whatever, droids, they're droids.
- 1:54Speaker 6: I just want you to be ready to go for
- 1:56Speaker 6: Star Wars day.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I'm already here. I'm already ready, like I have folks
- 2:00Speaker 3: stan for so long. Already might not seem like it,
- 2:03Speaker 3: but I'm way more focused than I should be right
- 2:05Speaker 3: now because there's a lot of a lot of Star Wars,
- 2:07Speaker 3: Star Wars Galaxy World today.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Yeah, I agree with that. I've been saying that for weeks.
- 2:15Speaker 3: There's somebody in the NFL that probably couldn't see over
- 2:18Speaker 3: R two D two's head. He's a little droid, this
- 2:20Speaker 3: little tiny fella or Yoda or Yoda this well he
- 2:24Speaker 3: might be like Yoda.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Yeah, kinda one of the quarterback battles. I think there was.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Four in the NFL going into preseason, undetermined or at
- 2:33Speaker 3: least somebody that hadn't been named. The starter is over
- 2:36Speaker 3: Kevin O'Connell with the Minnesota Vikings. Not surprising too, absolutely
- 2:41Speaker 3: anybody has named Kyler Murray there starting quarterback for the
- 2:45Speaker 3: twenty twenty six year.
- 2:47Speaker 4: And this is a backelette picture of how he announced
- 2:49Speaker 4: it yesterday.
- 2:50Speaker 6: Right here, Kyler, come up here shoulders?
- 2:55Speaker 4: Is it cape? He's got on? Now? What is that? WHI? There?
- 2:58Speaker 4: Is that?
- 2:59Speaker 3: The internet as winning again. If you just went a
- 3:01Speaker 3: little bit viral yesterday press, oh my gosh, there he is.
- 3:09Speaker 4: He had a lot to say.
- 3:10Speaker 3: We just couldn't hear any of it because because microphone
- 3:13Speaker 3: was too high. Well, the internet was winning yesterdays. Social
- 3:17Speaker 3: media was ablaze with look at this.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Football, a lot of scrimmage.
- 3:28Speaker 7: There's two number fifty seven's on defense. This is the
- 3:32Speaker 7: kind of thing that my mom would send to me
- 3:34Speaker 7: and be like, did you see this?
- 3:35Speaker 4: Is this real?
- 3:35Speaker 6: It was his player?
- 3:36Speaker 4: Can you confirm? I?
- 3:40Speaker 6: That was so cute?
- 3:41Speaker 4: That was cute. I want to carry me like that,
- 3:43Speaker 4: oh KOs Kevin.
- 3:46Speaker 6: O'Connell, AOC.
- 3:49Speaker 7: I want all.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Right, if you're not watching or just listen on radio.
- 3:54Speaker 3: This is bad radio because we're watching these AI videos
- 3:58Speaker 3: of tiny tiny Kyler Kevin O'Connell.
- 4:02Speaker 4: He's holding them like now thing.
- 4:04Speaker 6: If you're if you're in the car, let me explain
- 4:06Speaker 6: it to you. He is small, so it's funny.
- 4:09Speaker 7: So now he's even smaller in the videos that we're
- 4:12Speaker 7: currently watching. That was as big as the football almost.
- 4:17Speaker 7: Quinn Williams is like a toddler.
- 4:19Speaker 6: Didn't say his name. Yeah, Calamari, Calamary.
- 4:25Speaker 7: I love Calamary the office right now.
- 4:29Speaker 3: It's usually good to go like that in the morning. Okay,
- 4:35Speaker 3: in seriousness, this move was inevitable. This decision was inevitable.
- 4:40Speaker 3: You bring Kyler Murray in for what twenty five million
- 4:42Speaker 3: for the year. Let's not so he's been in Arizona,
- 4:47Speaker 3: and Arizona has had a dumpster fire over there for.
- 4:51Speaker 4: For many many moons.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And let's not forget how talented Kyler Murray actually is.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Of course that you can laugh at you you can
- 4:57Speaker 3: laugh at the call of duty stuff back in the
- 4:59Speaker 3: day and like the was it PlayStation or X but
- 5:02Speaker 3: whatever it was Ali play like everybody's young and dumb.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Everybody does thayings. You mature, you get better, Like I
- 5:09Speaker 3: really feel like Kyler Murray is gonna have a hell
- 5:12Speaker 3: of a year. I think the talent's gonna show through.
- 5:15Speaker 3: He's going to get with Kevin O'Connell. That is a
- 5:21Speaker 3: very good offensive coach. Look just the most recent comp
- 5:25Speaker 3: that we have to this. Look what he did with
- 5:27Speaker 3: Sam Donald. Sam Donald at in his career before he
- 5:30Speaker 3: got to Minnesota probably had a worse reputation in the
- 5:34Speaker 3: league than Kyler Murray does.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Right now.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Yeah, for a reason though, is it?
- 5:40Speaker 4: It's not okay?
- 5:43Speaker 3: But I'm talking about a reputation for what you've done
- 5:46Speaker 3: on the field that he's not. He hadn't done anything bad,
- 5:48Speaker 3: He hasn't broken the law. He hasn't like he played
- 5:51Speaker 3: video games when he was a rookie and everyone lost
- 5:53Speaker 3: their minds about it, and everybody lost their minds about it.
- 5:56Speaker 3: But from a play as a player, he's got a
- 5:58Speaker 3: better reputation than Sam Donald does. Of course, Sam Donald
- 6:01Speaker 3: plays great for them, commands a huge contract, or goes
- 6:04Speaker 3: to Seattle and when's the super Bowl? Like this is
- 6:07Speaker 3: a he rejuvenated his career when he went there. I
- 6:13Speaker 3: think the same thing could potentially happen and I would
- 6:16Speaker 3: be shocked if he doesn't have a really good year
- 6:18Speaker 3: like Minnesota, very talented. They could be the surprise in
- 6:23Speaker 3: the NFL this year because we're everybody's talking about the Packers,
- 6:26Speaker 3: Go Williams and the Bears, rightfully, So how good the
- 6:28Speaker 3: line they're fifteen and two two seasons ago, nobody's talking
- 6:31Speaker 3: about besides this quarterback competition, nobody's talking about how good
- 6:35Speaker 3: and talented that roster in Minnesota actually is.
- 6:38Speaker 8: So their defense is a concern obviously, But dude, they
- 6:41Speaker 8: got weapons. Like everyone wants to talk about Jefferson and Addison,
- 6:45Speaker 8: I get it, like that's your big two. Juwan Johnson
- 6:47Speaker 8: was awesome with the forty nine ers when really everybody
- 6:50Speaker 8: else on that team was hurt.
- 6:51Speaker 4: When t J.
- 6:52Speaker 8: Hawkinson's healthy, he's of what top fifteen tight end like TJ.
- 6:55Speaker 8: Hockinson could play a little bit. You got Aaron Jones.
- 6:58Speaker 8: I mean he's getting older, but he is alid running back.
- 7:00Speaker 8: Kyler can run the ball. That's gonna be a good
- 7:03Speaker 8: offense at the very least. Like their defense. Sure there's
- 7:06Speaker 8: some holes there, but I mean, Matt, we were talking
- 7:08Speaker 8: about it on Monday, how underrated the AFC North is
- 7:12Speaker 8: just because of the team's top to bottom. You look
- 7:14Speaker 8: at the NFC North right now, is that the best
- 7:18Speaker 8: division as far as like everybody knows who their quarterback
- 7:21Speaker 8: is going to be, Like you have Caleb, Jared Goff,
- 7:23Speaker 8: Jordan Love, and now that you have Kyler Murray, that
- 7:26Speaker 8: group of four might be better than any any.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Other division out there. Yeah, let's I mean every other
- 7:34Speaker 4: division seems like they have one game.
- 7:36Speaker 3: You go to the NFC West, yet Donald Stafford Purdy.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Now Arizona. What do you have the question mark there?
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yeah, and there was a question mark to this point,
- 7:53Speaker 3: and that would be so you got to say, if
- 7:55Speaker 3: you're ranking quarterbacks, right, you got the former MVP in
- 7:58Speaker 3: the NFCU West, but you got all this in the
- 8:01Speaker 3: NFC North. So you're gonna like, who's the You're comparing
- 8:05Speaker 3: either Kyler Murray or Jacoby Brissett, which one you take in?
- 8:08Speaker 3: Which is I'm taking Kler Murray absolutely, So it's yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 3: you're it's a good point. Like they that is NFC
- 8:14Speaker 3: North is stacked this year, and they're stacked with good
- 8:17Speaker 3: quarterback play. Now we'll see like this, we get it.
- 8:19Speaker 3: He's there's one who didn't sign him back for a reason.
- 8:22Speaker 3: He's on a twenty five million dollar contract, which is
- 8:24Speaker 3: a lot of money, We get it, but like as
- 8:25Speaker 3: for a quarterback, starting quarterback, it's not No, it's not premiere,
- 8:29Speaker 3: but is this you think this could be like the
- 8:31Speaker 3: Minnesota Vikings playbook, Like I know it's a new GM
- 8:33Speaker 3: this year, Like the best way to get fired is
- 8:37Speaker 3: a pay quarterback fifty plus million dollars and him not pan.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Out, Like that's a really good way to lose your job.
- 8:43Speaker 7: I think it's a refreshing story in the NFL in general,
- 8:45Speaker 7: because it's like I get I get frustrated, and it's like,
- 8:48Speaker 7: hey man, yeah Sam sam Donold sucks. Clearly he's a bust.
- 8:51Speaker 7: And it's like, well, who where where was he at?
- 8:53Speaker 7: Like the Jets, right, like, okay, did they have things
- 8:56Speaker 7: in place for him to be good?
- 8:57Speaker 6: No? Not at all.
- 8:58Speaker 4: No, No they did.
- 8:58Speaker 6: They just draft better after he was there. No worse
- 9:01Speaker 6: every year? Cool?
- 9:03Speaker 7: All right, Well, yeah, I guess he sucks. It's all
- 9:05Speaker 7: his fault. Like this this really like like parenally underachieving
- 9:10Speaker 7: team that does horribly every year. Is I feel like
- 9:14Speaker 7: if you're tethered to that and then you're still being
- 9:16Speaker 7: labeled a bus I think the thing in Minnesota is awesome.
- 9:18Speaker 7: I mean, like they did they did it for Donald
- 9:20Speaker 7: You're saying they could do it here, and then maybe
- 9:22Speaker 7: he revamps his career.
- 9:23Speaker 6: And goes get paid again because he had a massive contract.
- 9:26Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, fifty no, yeah he got he got paid
- 9:28Speaker 8: I think going into his third year, like at the
- 9:30Speaker 8: end of his rookie deal, he got a huge deal.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yeah, he had.
- 9:33Speaker 3: He had top five money for a couple of years.
- 9:35Speaker 3: And everybody, like I look anybody walking out and judging
- 9:40Speaker 3: somebody for stories like we heard no, of course I
- 9:44Speaker 3: break the law.
- 9:44Speaker 4: You do different things. Yeah, it's a different world.
- 9:46Speaker 3: But like his reputation went downhill for I'm not even
- 9:50Speaker 3: say like laziness, but what we what was perceived as
- 9:53Speaker 3: not being as serious about his job as he should be.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Now what let's just say that is true, Okay, what
- 9:59Speaker 3: was he twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, twenty Like
- 10:02Speaker 3: these are young men, you can.
- 10:04Speaker 7: Think also that everything, Like it's one thing to say, well,
- 10:07Speaker 7: everything's always come easy for him because he won a
- 10:09Speaker 7: Heisman and he did this and that in college and
- 10:11Speaker 7: like there's a lot of players like that, but Kyler
- 10:14Speaker 7: Murray was a top ten pick in the Major League
- 10:17Speaker 7: Baseball Draft. Like everything has always come easy to him.
- 10:20Speaker 7: So I'm sure he could have been like, yeah, I
- 10:21Speaker 7: can play some Fortnite or whatever it was, Yeah, I like,
- 10:23Speaker 7: I'll be good.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Get some headshots in Pilot.
- 10:27Speaker 3: And weren't they like even this offseason they were talking
- 10:30Speaker 3: will Kyler go back to baseball? Like if he can't
- 10:33Speaker 3: find the contract he wants, and like, just even for
- 10:37Speaker 3: people to be talking about that conversation shows you how
- 10:40Speaker 3: talented he is. Whether it was realistic or not, it
- 10:42Speaker 3: just shows you how talented the kid is.
- 10:44Speaker 8: Well, remember when he when he got drafted by the Athletics,
- 10:46Speaker 8: it was, hey, he is locked into baseball. They were
- 10:49Speaker 8: allowing him to go play quarterback one year because he
- 10:52Speaker 8: had played at A and M wasn't great. But that
- 10:55Speaker 8: whole A and M situation was was a mess. They're like, okay,
- 10:58Speaker 8: he's going to go to Oklahoma under Lincoln Riley. We'll
- 11:00Speaker 8: see how he does for a year, blows up Heisman,
- 11:03Speaker 8: number one overall pick.
- 11:04Speaker 4: He's like a baseball in the back burner.
- 11:06Speaker 8: So like, I'm with you, man, Like the talent's there,
- 11:08Speaker 8: like Kevin O'Connell for for what you could say about
- 11:10Speaker 8: JJ McCarthy and the draft pick and all that ke
- 11:12Speaker 8: O'Connell's done a lot more with a lot less rulability
- 11:15Speaker 8: than Kyler Murray. Like my biggest concern, Kevin O'Connell likes
- 11:19Speaker 8: to go under center a lot, a lot, a lot. No,
- 11:24Speaker 8: hadn't done it a lot, But could, I mean could
- 11:26Speaker 8: Kyler hadn't darn to take snaps over your head right right,
- 11:31Speaker 8: He's just gonna crawl under the center for the qv sneak.
- 11:33Speaker 4: I mean, he's just gonna walk right under.
- 11:34Speaker 8: But he hadn't done that a time as far as
- 11:36Speaker 8: like under center, but I mean, dude, he figures that out.
- 11:39Speaker 4: He's gonna be great in this offense.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I am really, actually very excited to see him play
- 11:44Speaker 3: under center. Like there when you play a shotguns so
- 11:47Speaker 3: much there benefits the shotgun of course, so you can
- 11:50Speaker 3: visually see a little bit better. You can you're you
- 11:53Speaker 3: can get to the back of your drop faster. There's
- 11:56Speaker 3: no threat to get stepped on by a lineman. But
- 11:58Speaker 3: there are huge benefits and it is extremely beneficial to
- 12:02Speaker 3: be under center. Every time a quarterback can turn their
- 12:05Speaker 3: back to the defense. You're big on this, Yeah, every
- 12:09Speaker 3: time you can turn your back to the defense, it
- 12:11Speaker 3: creates hesitation on the second and third level of the defense.
- 12:15Speaker 3: So it's one of those things that we've never really
- 12:19Speaker 3: seen a lot. Of course, we've seen in Arizona a
- 12:20Speaker 3: little bit, but you're going to see more of it
- 12:22Speaker 3: with Kevin O'Connell's offense. You're what you just said about
- 12:25Speaker 3: a story of college I didn't really I forgot about.
- 12:27Speaker 3: So you're telling me when he started his college football career,
- 12:31Speaker 3: he was in a bad organization that wasn't run very well,
- 12:35Speaker 3: and then he went to an organization with an offensive
- 12:38Speaker 3: minded head coach that is run pretty well and was
- 12:42Speaker 3: really good. Believe it or not, this sounds familiar. Where
- 12:45Speaker 3: does this sound familiar from? Oh yeah, Kyler Murray's professional career.
- 12:49Speaker 3: So we're going to see I anticipate. I think they
- 12:52Speaker 3: are going to be I think he especially is going
- 12:55Speaker 3: to be one of the bright spots and surprises of
- 12:57Speaker 3: the season.
- 12:58Speaker 4: So we can laugh all we want. And it is funny.
- 13:00Speaker 3: He is super short, and the memes are funny and
- 13:02Speaker 3: the AI videos are funny. But Kevin O'Connell holding him
- 13:06Speaker 3: up like Simba is just fantastic. But I think he
- 13:10Speaker 3: is going to be very serious once the game start,
- 13:13Speaker 3: and that NFC North is going.
- 13:15Speaker 4: To be an absolute blast to watch.
- 13:18Speaker 3: So we'll see how it pans out. They can't all win,
- 13:22Speaker 3: Not all four of those teams can make the playoffs.
- 13:24Speaker 6: You never know, you know, that's the thing about sports.
- 13:28Speaker 6: That's why we watch him.
- 13:29Speaker 4: How exated are you for talking about NFL?
- 13:31Speaker 3: I hate it.
- 13:33Speaker 6: I love you and being on the show, but I
- 13:37Speaker 6: have a hard time here. Listen.
- 13:39Speaker 7: I think I've just been so ingrained with watching collegeball
- 13:43Speaker 7: for so long, and I think there's gonna be a
- 13:45Speaker 7: shift soon where your expectations have to match, like what
- 13:47Speaker 7: the actual product in the field is. We're like, you're
- 13:50Speaker 7: gonna have expanded playoffs, so if you are going nine
- 13:53Speaker 7: to three, it's expected. But for so long, football seasons
- 13:56Speaker 7: were over if you lost the game, or you know
- 13:59Speaker 7: what I mean, Like y'all are the first two lost
- 14:00Speaker 7: teams to win the Natty and and so I I
- 14:04Speaker 7: just I have a hard time watching the NFL because
- 14:06Speaker 7: it's like, I know, it's the most popular sporting world.
- 14:08Speaker 7: I know him the minority saying this, but like I
- 14:12Speaker 7: I have a hard time getting into the games as
- 14:14Speaker 7: much because it's like, well, if you lose, it doesn't
- 14:17Speaker 7: really matter. You can go nine and seven and still
- 14:20Speaker 7: make the playoff.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Seven team is gonna get it right?
- 14:23Speaker 7: Well, I'm specifically saying, like the Giants team that went
- 14:25Speaker 7: nine and seven and beat the Patriots.
- 14:27Speaker 6: It's like, that's cool. I guess. I think it's just
- 14:30Speaker 6: it's hard for me to get into it, Like the playoff.
- 14:32Speaker 7: The NFL playoffs are awesome, like the end of the
- 14:35Speaker 7: season when like people are are battling for those positions.
- 14:37Speaker 7: Like I love Sunday night football, I have a hard
- 14:39Speaker 7: time getting really into the games. It's like, well, doesn't
- 14:41Speaker 7: really matter. It's like you can lose a bunch and
- 14:44Speaker 7: everything's still fine.
- 14:45Speaker 6: I don't, man, I don't. I don't like feel like that.
- 14:47Speaker 3: You know, come on now, So you don't lost enough
- 14:52Speaker 3: college football? Is I mean a lot of the regular
- 14:54Speaker 3: season stuff's lost A lot of juice? Yeah, I'm not not, okay,
- 14:58Speaker 3: A lot is that's a way ever stay But as
- 15:00Speaker 3: much like you're right, it used to be if you
- 15:02Speaker 3: lost the game, then you were done your toast.
- 15:04Speaker 7: Right, so, and now if you lose like three, then
- 15:07Speaker 7: you're like, all right, well you're out. It's just it
- 15:10Speaker 7: doesn't have as much meaning unless you cowards.
- 15:16Speaker 4: So I can say, like every.
- 15:17Speaker 7: Seeing that in my in my eyes and my body.
- 15:21Speaker 8: Every college game meant something right like that that second last, Like,
- 15:24Speaker 8: that's what I loved about college football regular season without
- 15:27Speaker 8: for the longest time. Like and to your point, the
- 15:29Speaker 8: playoff expands, it's going to get more and more like
- 15:31Speaker 8: the NFL. But no, yeah, I mean you're not gonna
- 15:34Speaker 8: have the Saints lose to a seven and nine Seattle
- 15:37Speaker 8: Seahawks team like that. That's not going to happen in
- 15:39Speaker 8: the College WORB playoff. I'm with you, Like, as much
- 15:41Speaker 8: as I follow the NFL, I like college about it.
- 15:43Speaker 7: And if you do, like you're resting starters in the
- 15:48Speaker 7: end of the season sometimes like there there are some
- 15:50Speaker 7: seasons that are like really like I love watching like
- 15:53Speaker 7: I will watch the Saints, I will begrudgingly watch the Falcons.
- 15:57Speaker 7: I like, you know, I will watch some certain players.
- 15:59Speaker 7: But it's like it's it's there's less on the line
- 16:04Speaker 7: for a majority of the regularly.
- 16:05Speaker 3: There's no reason you can't love both. I enjoy the
- 16:08Speaker 3: product that the NFL provides me more than the product
- 16:11Speaker 3: that college football provides me. And all the nonsense off
- 16:14Speaker 3: the field, it's stupid too but it's still a great product.
- 16:16Speaker 4: I love them both.
- 16:17Speaker 3: If I have to choose a game to watch, it
- 16:20Speaker 3: would be L s U first, But then I'm not
- 16:22Speaker 3: watching other games like just for.
- 16:24Speaker 6: I mean, I think we have very different mindsets on
- 16:27Speaker 6: this because.
- 16:28Speaker 4: I'm just watching for the highest quality of football.
- 16:30Speaker 7: Right and you that makes sense because you played at
- 16:33Speaker 7: that level. And I'll never forget this. I remember last
- 16:35Speaker 7: year was watching something. You were watching something and it
- 16:38Speaker 7: was like tape and it was like, I don't forgot
- 16:40Speaker 7: what game it was or who the quarterback was, but
- 16:42Speaker 7: you were like they were asking you to break it
- 16:43Speaker 7: down and you were just laughing at the iPad. You go,
- 16:46Speaker 7: college ball is so easy, just cracking up college.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I wish I felt like that when I was actually
- 16:54Speaker 3: playing college football, like once.
- 16:57Speaker 7: Yeah, like that interception you threw in the two thousand
- 16:59Speaker 7: and seven remember that yesterday.
- 17:01Speaker 3: You should have run a hitch. That's what quarterbacks supposed
- 17:04Speaker 3: to do. Just blame everybody else, right obviously. Hey, guess what,
- 17:09Speaker 3: I know this has been tough for you playing talking
- 17:11Speaker 3: the NFL. Why don't you choose the next segment. Let's
- 17:13Speaker 3: you choose our talking points you want teaser?
- 17:16Speaker 6: You already over unders. We're getting into some gambling talk.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Oh I can't wait.

- 20:42Speaker 7: I had this conversation today with somebody. I get very
- 20:46Speaker 7: overly and weirdly excited about Fridays before football because it's.
- 20:50Speaker 6: Like it feels so good anticipation.
- 20:53Speaker 7: Yes, like your Hunt always says this, everyone's undefeated on Friday.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Yeah, and like that first like.
- 20:58Speaker 7: Four o'clock, one o'clock, twelve o'clock beer. I just love
- 21:04Speaker 7: like the atmosphere. I remember driving through here like near
- 21:09Speaker 7: what's that marketplace? It didn't matter, but I remember driving
- 21:11Speaker 7: here last year and somebody was wearing that like Burder
- 21:15Speaker 7: and I was like, I just fired me up some
- 21:17Speaker 7: right now.
- 21:17Speaker 4: I love it.
- 21:17Speaker 2: You know what I love is whenever it's getting close
- 21:20Speaker 2: to football season and you drive through campus and you
- 21:23Speaker 2: can see them start to put like the parking stuff up,
- 21:26Speaker 2: and you see people's like RV starting, and oh.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Do y'all remember the feel of twenty nineteen followed twenty nineteen,
- 21:33Speaker 3: like the vive every every restaurant you went into throughout
- 21:37Speaker 3: the week, every like the weather was perfect.
- 21:40Speaker 4: I can't wait for the lane train bring that back, dude.
- 21:43Speaker 8: The week in bed Rouge, the week after that Texas game,
- 21:47Speaker 8: Week two, I mean, like, because you saw it against
- 21:50Speaker 8: Georgia Southern. Nobody's like, great, it was Georgia Southern. Can
- 21:53Speaker 8: you do it against a good team? You beat him
- 21:55Speaker 8: in all stin Everybody's like, okay, we got a little
- 21:58Speaker 8: something near.
- 21:58Speaker 4: From then to January, I.
- 22:02Speaker 5: Was so blacked out.
- 22:03Speaker 7: I had my appendix out the day before. Oh yeah,
- 22:05Speaker 7: and then like for real, this is true.
- 22:08Speaker 6: I was.
- 22:08Speaker 7: I was in Georgia and I remember the lady said
- 22:10Speaker 7: to me, and she goes, uh, we're gonna to keep
- 22:12Speaker 7: you overnight, go l SU Texas put tomorrow.
- 22:15Speaker 4: I'm gonna go home.
- 22:16Speaker 7: Yeah, And I think I asked what like the cable? Like,
- 22:18Speaker 7: I was like, do you guys have like the channels?
- 22:20Speaker 7: And she was like, you can't just watch TV in
- 22:23Speaker 7: here all day? Was like, but I can't go home?
- 22:25Speaker 7: What else am I supposed to watch?
- 22:26Speaker 6: Was awesome that game.
- 22:28Speaker 7: I will also tell you though, this is how like
- 22:30Speaker 7: I remember watching it and I was like, okay because
- 22:31Speaker 7: I saw Joe Burrow before and I was like, you know,
- 22:35Speaker 7: maybe the defense has some questions. I don't know if
- 22:36Speaker 7: they're that good, Like they just like lit up this
- 22:38Speaker 7: Texas team. And then they played Vandy. Yeah at like
- 22:41Speaker 7: eleven am and they put up a million points. I
- 22:44Speaker 7: was like, oh my god, this team is awesome.
- 22:46Speaker 2: But after that Texas game, I feel like there was
- 22:48Speaker 2: just like a feeling, you know, like I feel like
- 22:51Speaker 2: whenever a team's gonna win a national championship that you
- 22:55Speaker 2: cover Route four or whatever, I feel like you can
- 22:57Speaker 2: feel it, Like with the women's basket team, what was
- 23:00Speaker 2: it twenty twenty two three three?
- 23:03Speaker 7: They?
- 23:03Speaker 5: I like, I feel like I could feel that.
- 23:06Speaker 2: And then when baseball was winning, I felt I don't know.
- 23:09Speaker 2: In twenty nineteen, after the Texas game, I don't remember
- 23:13Speaker 2: much of it, but I just remember being like, oh
- 23:15Speaker 2: my gosh, like this is the real deal here, and
- 23:18Speaker 2: Joe Burrow waving at everybody.
- 23:19Speaker 5: I was like, oh this is different, and.
- 23:21Speaker 6: They also they camas.
- 23:24Speaker 7: I felt like I felt like that was when you
- 23:26Speaker 7: kind of felt like that was like America's team, I
- 23:27Speaker 7: always said, because coach I was so likable. Joe Burrow
- 23:31Speaker 7: was was like really starting to come into his amos,
- 23:33Speaker 7: like everyone loved this suit. Is like all of a sudden,
- 23:36Speaker 7: he was like hot, like his oh so good, like
- 23:39Speaker 7: the glow up.
- 23:40Speaker 2: And then they tried to they shot his jersey through
- 23:43Speaker 2: the cannon ball.
- 23:43Speaker 6: Yeah, that was in the corner of the game.
- 23:47Speaker 7: Also the game where they kept drinking all the water
- 23:49Speaker 7: from the other seat.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Of the video and they turned the acs off when
- 23:54Speaker 4: we were leaving the Florida game.
- 23:56Speaker 6: That part too.
- 23:58Speaker 8: We were leaving the Florida game and like to me,
- 24:00Speaker 8: Florida was Allo's last big regular season obstacle.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Ben was good. I just thought they had the road
- 24:07Speaker 4: going into it.
- 24:08Speaker 8: But uh, I mean I remember after the Florida game,
- 24:10Speaker 8: we were walking down and like you could feel it.
- 24:12Speaker 8: Like after the Florida game, my feeling was like, Okay,
- 24:15Speaker 8: this team's gonna win it all, Like this is your
- 24:16Speaker 8: last this was your last obstacle before you before you
- 24:19Speaker 8: get to that SEC championship game, And it.
- 24:21Speaker 7: Was Florida team was the last obstacle they had before
- 24:25Speaker 7: going on the road against the number two ring team
- 24:28Speaker 7: in the country.
- 24:28Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean that game was closed, but she was
- 24:31Speaker 8: up twenty and a half. Like that game, the game
- 24:33Speaker 8: should have been. Well that year was you know, I've
- 24:36Speaker 8: been done.
- 24:37Speaker 6: It was that close, Taylor.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I've been playing a couple of years. I've been done,
- 24:42Speaker 3: like I was. It took me a while to get
- 24:44Speaker 3: back into college football.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Yeah, in that way.
- 24:46Speaker 3: And of course that just like gets you straight back
- 24:49Speaker 3: into And we were doing hester show in the afternoon
- 24:51Speaker 3: at that point it was twelve to two, I believe,
- 24:53Speaker 3: and we were live on location and at that hour
- 24:57Speaker 3: during this like the you could feel the vice because
- 24:59Speaker 3: you were around the people you were We were like
- 25:01Speaker 3: right near abot. We were slamming beers right on air,
- 25:03Speaker 3: just like it was a yeah brother. So yeah, that
- 25:06Speaker 3: was a great year, and we were excited. We were
- 25:07Speaker 3: a couple of weeks away. So when is that feeling
- 25:10Speaker 3: going to come back? We hope that it's this year.
- 25:12Speaker 3: But Wayne Train, let's bring it home. So we're excited.
- 25:15Speaker 3: We can't wait.
- 25:16Speaker 6: We score so many points.
- 25:18Speaker 8: Then you you beat old this week three, that first
- 25:22Speaker 8: home game, challenge the rest of the year.
- 25:26Speaker 4: At home. Uh they uh?
- 25:29Speaker 8: After that Week three, you beat Old Miss on the road, Like,
- 25:31Speaker 8: vibes are gonna be so high coming into Tiger Stadium.
- 25:34Speaker 4: That next home game that's gonna.
- 25:35Speaker 8: Be all some A and M right like that, that's
- 25:38Speaker 8: going to be electric.
- 25:42Speaker 6: You just got to get it to October.
- 25:44Speaker 7: If they gets October undefeated, the they're not losing in October.
- 25:49Speaker 7: I keep seeing this this this stupid trendy pick about
- 25:52Speaker 7: Auburn feeding them right, Like I think Jake Crane had
- 25:55Speaker 7: nothing air swearch. I love Jake, but it was like
- 25:57Speaker 7: and he's not the only one I've seen it from
- 25:59Speaker 7: a bunch of people in and that's a tough eleven
- 26:01Speaker 7: am on the road. But Jordan hare is different at night.
- 26:04Speaker 7: Jordan hair is not different in the daytime. Those ghosts
- 26:07Speaker 7: are aren't awake, not yet do they. But if they
- 26:12Speaker 7: get to, if they somehow, which I don't think is
- 26:14Speaker 7: that crazy to think they get October undefeated, it's gonna
- 26:17Speaker 7: be yep.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Because if you have Bama Texas, you know.
- 26:21Speaker 6: A week off for Bama and then Texas an.
- 26:23Speaker 8: Texas and then you go to Tennessee, Like those are
- 26:26Speaker 8: those are tough games.
- 26:27Speaker 6: I think they lose to Texas.
- 26:30Speaker 7: I think I put my preseason thing, but I think
- 26:31Speaker 7: they're undefeated going into Texas.
- 26:33Speaker 8: Very well could be, Like I mean very well could be.
- 26:36Speaker 8: And I imagine that home atmosphere Texas at night undefeated
- 26:39Speaker 8: because there's a chance Texas is undefeated as well, Like
- 26:42Speaker 8: that's a big time game and they are.
- 26:43Speaker 7: I think I looked at the schedule, there's there's good
- 26:45Speaker 7: games on that day, but that is going to be
- 26:47Speaker 7: the night game.
- 26:47Speaker 4: That and that, and that's college of game day.
- 26:49Speaker 8: Like if they if they both do what you predict
- 26:51Speaker 8: them to do, like, that's that's the big game.
- 26:54Speaker 3: So you're telling me there's a chance up all right, Well,
- 26:58Speaker 3: as we get prepared for the season, we do have
- 27:01Speaker 3: to there is something that you want to talk about.
- 27:05Speaker 3: LSU has the fewest amount of players on their roster
- 27:09Speaker 3: from Louisiana. We also talk about the fence, but in
- 27:12Speaker 3: the fence around Louisiana, they have the fewest amount. We're
- 27:14Speaker 3: going to talk about that. Give you the details and
- 27:17Speaker 3: the breakdown. We come back right here's.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 27:22Speaker 3: If you've been putting off nope, not yeah, dude, putting
- 27:25Speaker 3: off updating that old bathtub or shower because you think
- 27:27Speaker 3: it's going to take weeks, tear your house apart, or

- 28:32Speaker 1: This is Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, Baton
- 28:36Speaker 1: Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 28:49Speaker 3: All right, looking back here off the bench, oh at
- 28:51Speaker 3: number three by from the Raise of Kine Studio. We
- 28:54Speaker 3: appreciate you joining us tuning in this morning. We've a
- 28:57Speaker 3: lot to talk about this morning. There's really no sports happening.
- 29:01Speaker 3: We found a lot of things to talk about. One
- 29:02Speaker 3: that's very interesting.
- 29:04Speaker 6: Little League World Series.
- 29:06Speaker 7: Literally, well, I'll do love the little It's also the
- 29:08Speaker 7: last hump before football season.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Yeah, it's kind of fun.
- 29:11Speaker 6: We love.
- 29:11Speaker 4: It's kind of fun. It's good.
- 29:12Speaker 3: It's it's one of those it's one of those background
- 29:14Speaker 3: noises things that you put on, kind of like the draft,
- 29:17Speaker 3: kind of like the Tour de France.
- 29:18Speaker 4: You put it on. It's just on for a while.
- 29:20Speaker 6: Can we bet on that?
- 29:21Speaker 4: We bet on the Yeah, we can on anything.
- 29:24Speaker 7: Really, I'll talked to Brad Bohannon about this and he
- 29:26Speaker 7: said he's got an Intel Shadaho game.
- 29:29Speaker 3: But some of the super fun for LSU fans to
- 29:32Speaker 3: look at and does it really mean anything?
- 29:34Speaker 4: Does it not?
- 29:34Speaker 3: Well, we looked at some stats. There was some can
- 29:38Speaker 3: you source it? Who's came out with this? Preston Guy,
- 29:41Speaker 3: Preston Guy Okay, Tiger Bait really came out with a
- 29:44Speaker 3: lot of stats of the roster. Yeah, and how many
- 29:47Speaker 3: Louisiana kids are on LSU's roster and the success rate
- 29:50Speaker 3: and how the you know, the higher percentage, what kind
- 29:51Speaker 3: of success they had lowest well, right now, we have
- 29:54Speaker 3: the lowest percentage of Louisiana kids in a while wherever.
- 29:56Speaker 7: In like the last twenty six years, which I feel, okay,
- 29:59Speaker 7: So I just I thought this was interesting because so
- 30:02Speaker 7: it's not saying that, like LSU's success is solely dependent
- 30:06Speaker 7: at all on players from Louisiana, but it's been a
- 30:10Speaker 7: talking point at some different places, right like like Alabama,
- 30:13Speaker 7: like they don't have a top if they don't have
- 30:15Speaker 7: a player in the top fifteen this year committed to them.
- 30:18Speaker 7: Florida has missed out on so many guys from their
- 30:20Speaker 7: own backyard in the state of Florida, and like Texas
- 30:23Speaker 7: is another one up until last couple of years. But
- 30:25Speaker 7: I just thought it was interesting because you look at
- 30:27Speaker 7: just how big some of these numbers have been over
- 30:30Speaker 7: the last several years. You only have a couple that
- 30:32Speaker 7: were ever, I think you only had two in the
- 30:33Speaker 7: previous twenty five years that were under fifty percent. So
- 30:36Speaker 7: I mean, you know, over half your roster every year
- 30:38Speaker 7: was at least from Louisiana. Now.
- 30:40Speaker 6: One of the things, too, I think was interesting is
- 30:41Speaker 6: I would love to I'm.
- 30:42Speaker 7: Not gonna ask them to redo this obviously because it's
- 30:44Speaker 7: a lot of work, but like I would love to
- 30:46Speaker 7: know out of like the starting too deep. Yes, what
- 30:48Speaker 7: that looks like. I'm sure there's numbers a little bit different.
- 30:50Speaker 7: So look thirty seven and a half. It's just it's
- 30:52Speaker 7: just very different than we've seen.
- 30:55Speaker 8: It kind of makes sense though, right because if you
- 30:57Speaker 8: look at the last four years, like those are there,
- 30:59Speaker 8: the numbers dipped off. But she said three coaches in
- 31:02Speaker 8: the last six years and now right, wait, it's like
- 31:05Speaker 8: when Lane gets hired, and I mean when did they
- 31:07Speaker 8: announced that late November? Like you don't have time to
- 31:09Speaker 8: put together in a full class in December? Forty two
- 31:12Speaker 8: transfer portal players, Like that's that makes sense. Kelly had
- 31:15Speaker 8: to do the same thing his first year. He had
- 31:17Speaker 8: to dip into It's like, it does make sense because
- 31:19Speaker 8: one nil, you're kind of on one year rentals now,
- 31:22Speaker 8: but also the new coaches as well.
- 31:25Speaker 3: You look at like the so of course as the
- 31:27Speaker 3: trans as transfers become more prevalent, that number is going
- 31:31Speaker 3: to drop with everybody. Like early in the two thousands,
- 31:33Speaker 3: it was like in the seventy percent of all boys and.
- 31:35Speaker 4: The kids at LSU.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you look at two thousand and three sixty seven
- 31:38Speaker 3: point two two thousand and seven fifty seven point nine
- 31:41Speaker 3: per problem. In twenty eleven fifty six, but twenty nineteen
- 31:45Speaker 3: about fifty five point seven percent. And like you said,
- 31:48Speaker 3: there's only been two years in the last twenty part,
- 31:50Speaker 3: so probably ever right ever, that's we're under fifty percent.
- 31:53Speaker 3: This year's team said at thirty seven and a half percent.
- 31:57Speaker 6: So basically three out of eight.
- 31:58Speaker 7: It's just it's just an odd It's just it's just
- 32:01Speaker 7: something you're not used to seeing. And I don't think
- 32:03Speaker 7: that it necessarily Like I said, I don't think it
- 32:05Speaker 7: equates as well, they're not going to win now because
- 32:08Speaker 7: they don't have guys you want dudes from this this
- 32:10Speaker 7: this state. Because I think that's one of the reasons
- 32:13Speaker 7: they hired Coacho. I think it's one of the reasons,
- 32:15Speaker 7: Like I think they're going to try and put a
- 32:17Speaker 7: fence around the safe here as much as they can
- 32:19Speaker 7: because there's so much elite talent in the state.
- 32:21Speaker 3: And it's it's the thing that we always talk about
- 32:23Speaker 3: in recruiting and why LSU has an advanced hell, it's
- 32:26Speaker 3: one of the reasons why Lane Kiffin left the school
- 32:30Speaker 3: to come here because of the talent rich environment that
- 32:33Speaker 3: we're in. And it's we talk about the I ten quarter,
- 32:35Speaker 3: the high twenty quarter. Right, you just look per capita
- 32:39Speaker 3: the best talent in the country, and so it is
- 32:42Speaker 3: that's why it's in you very.
- 32:43Speaker 8: Cool, right, And LSU recruits well with Houston traditionally because
- 32:47Speaker 8: you've got a big alumni based there.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Absolutely, and its just like so it is a little
- 32:51Speaker 3: bit I don't know what the word is interesting, Probably
- 32:54Speaker 3: the best word that it is so low but understandable
- 32:56Speaker 3: because you come in, you get rid of a ton
- 32:58Speaker 3: of people on offense, right, get rid of a whole
- 32:59Speaker 3: coach stuff. So you have to fill in the pieces quickly.
- 33:03Speaker 3: I would assume the goal is to continue to for
- 33:05Speaker 3: this number to go up. But in this world of
- 33:08Speaker 3: college football, does it matter as much? And is it
- 33:12Speaker 3: realistic to think you're ever going to get back into
- 33:14Speaker 3: the sixty percentile?
- 33:15Speaker 7: You are going to have like older fans that are
- 33:19Speaker 7: going to use this as like a reason why if
- 33:21Speaker 7: they lose a rival.
- 33:24Speaker 6: They don't get what it means. Brother, with all you.
- 33:26Speaker 8: With baseball and Jay Johnson, they said the same second,
- 33:29Speaker 8: I know how much talent is in this state in football.
- 33:32Speaker 4: I get it.
- 33:32Speaker 8: It's like you also got to fill your need with
- 33:35Speaker 8: with the best players as well, Like do I care
- 33:37Speaker 8: if they're from Louisiana or Georgia. No, not really, I
- 33:40Speaker 8: want to I want to recruit the Stags and know
- 33:42Speaker 8: much talents there. But yeah, like I get your point.
- 33:44Speaker 8: It's kind of just a blame thing.
- 33:46Speaker 6: On back here, miss Terry, just not letting saving leave
- 33:49Speaker 6: the state.
- 33:50Speaker 4: Well, I mean that's probably you couldn't transfer back in
- 33:52Speaker 4: the day.
- 33:52Speaker 7: No, I think it's also interesting, see, like so he's this.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Year is probably the first year was ever under SABS.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Last year is four, Yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 7: And so then he he I think two and seven
- 34:03Speaker 7: the first year he comes back in college football obviously
- 34:05Speaker 7: you guys in the Natty. But then like that's also
- 34:07Speaker 7: right around when when recruiting services started coming out and
- 34:10Speaker 7: so you started.
- 34:10Speaker 6: Seeing like who is the kid from John Curtis.
- 34:14Speaker 7: Joe USC, which was you started getting somebody these like
- 34:19Speaker 7: national of these like powers like evangel Christians. So these
- 34:22Speaker 7: other guys like that have I think more on the
- 34:24Speaker 7: map now with like that that are I guess more
- 34:27Speaker 7: well known for college recruiting and coaches around the country.
- 34:30Speaker 8: Uh more more teams out of state are dipping into
- 34:33Speaker 8: Louisian too, Like the recruiting battles heavier than he used
- 34:35Speaker 8: to be.
- 34:36Speaker 3: And I could tell you that, like I was part
- 34:38Speaker 3: of the problem, right yeah, if there is a problem.
- 34:40Speaker 3: So two thousand and three is why signing class when
- 34:43Speaker 3: it dipped, probably for the first time, under seventy percent.
- 34:45Speaker 3: So sixty seven point two percent of the roster in
- 34:47Speaker 3: two thousand and three was from Louisiana. Now I know
- 34:51Speaker 3: my personal Like our recruiting class in two thousand and three,
- 34:55Speaker 3: Jimbo Fisher was crushing it in Florida. Yeah, so like Dwayne,
- 34:58Speaker 3: but like all those people out of Florida, JaMarcus was mobile.
- 35:01Speaker 3: There was a couple of people from Texas in the
- 35:03Speaker 3: Houston and East Texas area, so there was quite a
- 35:06Speaker 3: few people from outside the state in that recruiting class,
- 35:09Speaker 3: which I'm assuming that that recruiting class because they had
- 35:12Speaker 3: started having success right one two and so you could
- 35:16Speaker 3: recruit a little bit more nationally and get the big
- 35:18Speaker 3: time that we were the number one recruiting class in
- 35:20Speaker 3: the country, so you could recruit a little bit more national.
- 35:23Speaker 3: That's why that number dipped. I mean it dipped seven
- 35:25Speaker 3: percent in a year probably that signing class now now
- 35:29Speaker 3: hester signing class and oh four it bumps up a
- 35:31Speaker 3: little bit. They were a little bit more Louisian the
- 35:34Speaker 3: heavy I believe, Yeah, that year.
- 35:36Speaker 8: The weirdest part about this particular, what if you look
- 35:39Speaker 8: the top four percentage, Oh, Sabans first three years and
- 35:42Speaker 8: then again in twenty thirteen. You didn't win Natties that year,
- 35:46Speaker 8: but it's right in between good seasons, right, Like think
- 35:48Speaker 8: about it. Sabans first three you win the Naty and
- 35:50Speaker 8: O three, then in twenty eleven you played for the Natty.
- 35:53Speaker 8: Twenty thirteen it jumps up to sixty eight percent. So
- 35:56Speaker 8: it's like there's certainly a foundation there. Like does it
- 35:58Speaker 8: equate to national championship? No, but like they're still part
- 36:02Speaker 8: there's still foundational pieces.
- 36:03Speaker 7: I think it'll be interesting that the the there's a
- 36:06Speaker 7: there's a potential with the way the portal works where
- 36:09Speaker 7: I love the way Kiffin is is kind of attacking
- 36:12Speaker 7: the nil stuff where it's like we're not going to
- 36:13Speaker 7: overpay for certain positions. We want everyone to stay here
- 36:16Speaker 7: as much as possible because it sells itself. It's you're
- 36:20Speaker 7: gonna see more of this probably right, Like, like, I
- 36:22Speaker 7: think that's that's probably gonna be the case. But I
- 36:24Speaker 7: wonder how many of them come back. You go to
- 36:27Speaker 7: a different place and they years and then they're like,
- 36:31Speaker 7: well this isn't working out the way I thought it was,
- 36:33Speaker 7: and then come back to l SU. That'll that'll be
- 36:35Speaker 7: interesting to fine as well.
- 36:37Speaker 4: Wandra, you're a you're a transplant?
- 36:40Speaker 5: What correct? I am a transplant?
- 36:43Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, we're tech Texas.
- 36:48Speaker 3: We do this.
- 36:50Speaker 4: This number needs be a hundred percent, hundred percent Louisiana.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's it's just such a That is why
- 36:57Speaker 3: l s U is, you know, one of many reasons
- 37:00Speaker 3: why l SU is such a desirable choice for coaches people.
- 37:03Speaker 4: Why would he Why would he leave all miss why
- 37:04Speaker 4: would anybody leave? Why would bro Kelly leave? Notre Dame? Like,
- 37:07Speaker 4: why why are they doing all this? Well, because you
- 37:10Speaker 4: got all the resources in the world.
- 37:11Speaker 3: You've got a great fan base, you got a great stadium,
- 37:13Speaker 3: you've got a great tradition, and you've got a great,
- 37:17Speaker 3: great morning show obviously, great great hydration, and you have
- 37:23Speaker 3: the best talent rich environment around you and you're the
- 37:26Speaker 3: only Yeah I'm not okay, don't take this in the
- 37:31Speaker 3: slight only like big time school and the power you
- 37:34Speaker 3: know in the SEC.
- 37:35Speaker 4: I mean in Louisiana, you're the only big dumb school
- 37:37Speaker 4: in the state. Yeah. Absolute, you're the only powerful program.
- 37:39Speaker 6: I know.
- 37:41Speaker 3: We didn't make a playoffs, you know, you know, change conferences.
- 37:45Speaker 3: So that is so that is why l s U
- 37:49Speaker 3: is so desirable. So it's you do have to put
- 37:52Speaker 3: a fence, and that's why Coach Oh has come in here.
- 37:54Speaker 3: But again you have to you have to put a
- 37:56Speaker 3: fence around Louise in it and then go around the
- 37:58Speaker 3: country and be select with who you're taking. But it
- 38:01Speaker 3: is certainly interesting, will it Will it play a factor?
- 38:04Speaker 3: Does it actually mean anything when it comes to wins
- 38:06Speaker 3: and losses? No, probably not, but you certainly want to
- 38:11Speaker 3: keep all your in state talent in state. So interesting stuff,
- 38:15Speaker 3: interesting in stuff to think about. But you're right, it
- 38:17Speaker 3: gives people some good ammunition this show.
- 38:19Speaker 4: Once we lose that game.
- 38:20Speaker 6: There's one guy on Twitter.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Yeah, he's on thirty seven point two percent of our
- 38:25Speaker 3: team kidding me.
- 38:27Speaker 6: They don't get it.
- 38:29Speaker 4: I don't understand what it means.
- 38:30Speaker 6: I don't know what it means to play for the boot,
- 38:33Speaker 6: all right.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Guess what what We're gonna go to break on time
- 38:38Speaker 3: and we're gonna have a full throttle asked the bench.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Statement brought to you by I called delicious dose segic.
- 38:45Speaker 3: So this has been a content peck show. Get some
- 38:48Speaker 3: questions in. If you got something, asked Chris Taite Landra myself,
- 38:52Speaker 3: whatever it is, get those questions in or text what's
- 38:54Speaker 3: the text line of.
- 38:54Speaker 5: Laundra two two five?
- 38:59Speaker 3: Gets your questions and nothing too weird, nothing too sporty,
- 39:04Speaker 3: still be dirty. Answers some questions. All right, we're gonna
- 39:07Speaker 3: to break. We'll come back right here. More off the bench.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 39:11Speaker 4: All right, do you do banking? Oh?
- 39:14Speaker 6: Will?
- 39:16Speaker 3: Well, if you don't do banking well, like Marlar, you
- 39:20Speaker 3: you need to go to First American Bank and Trust.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Go talk to them. They will teach you. They'll teach
- 39:24Speaker 3: you the right way to bank. They'll help you out.
- 39:26Speaker 3: You know what, because they put a fence around Louisiana. Yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 3: they are a Louisiana company. They've been doing business here
- 39:34Speaker 3: in Louisiana for over one hundred years. That's a whole
- 39:36Speaker 3: century right there. So helping Louisiana families, Louisiana businesses. They
- 39:41Speaker 3: helping them with of course maintaining their money, but also
- 39:44Speaker 3: helping them build their businesses. Be with with loans. Everybody like,
- 39:48Speaker 3: if you build a business, that's the best ammunition. Ammunition
- 39:51Speaker 3: you can get sometimes having a little bit of business runway,
- 39:53Speaker 3: a little bit business capital, get that working line, line
- 39:56Speaker 3: of credit, whatever it is. Give them a call and
- 39:58Speaker 3: have them make decisions. You know why, because you're a
- 40:00Speaker 3: Louisiana business. You want somebody if they're giving you a loan,
- 40:03Speaker 3: to be in Louisiana making Louisiana decision, not somebody over
- 40:06Speaker 3: there in New York City. So you're to go check
- 40:09Speaker 3: him out at fabt dot com.
- 40:16Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves. Gets off the
- 40:18Speaker 1: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 40:32Speaker 3: All right, welcome back here. We are closing out the show.
- 40:36Speaker 3: What a show it's been. We're going by quickly.
- 40:39Speaker 4: That's good. That's good.
- 40:40Speaker 3: I can get to my Star Wars breaks.
- 40:43Speaker 5: They probably went by so slow when I wasn't here.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Oh my god, it's the worst. Yesterday episode stepped in
- 40:50Speaker 3: for you. We appreciate the time. Who is who came in?
- 40:54Speaker 4: Monday? Was there Monday?
- 40:55Speaker 3: Luke Monday moves so yesterday. Betty good, Betty good. Well,
- 40:59Speaker 3: we appreciate it, everybody stepping in. I appreciate you stepping in.
- 41:03Speaker 4: Well.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Jacob will be back Friday for one day, one day only,
- 41:06Speaker 3: one day. Event here everything, let's go well, the wolf
- 41:10Speaker 3: Pack will be back together for three hours and then he's.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Back on the road two more days after that.
- 41:17Speaker 3: So if you are tired of hearing me talk so
- 41:19Speaker 3: much and lead the show around, just time's almost up.
- 41:24Speaker 4: But it's been fun. I enjoyed it.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you everybody for helping while in years. Okay,
- 41:31Speaker 3: so let's get to a little bit of ass. The
- 41:34Speaker 3: bench brought to you by Ice called delicious dough sekis.
- 41:38Speaker 6: Glook glook glook glok glob nice.
- 41:41Speaker 4: No icontact, good job, good job.
- 41:43Speaker 3: In Spanish that means two x's yes. Okay, all right,
- 41:48Speaker 3: let's see do we have anything.
- 41:49Speaker 7: Let's see I got a tes a, good one, Daniel
- 41:53Speaker 7: basham ask the bench.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Is Marlar gonna end up at the Dungeon on his
- 41:57Speaker 2: bachelor party?
- 41:58Speaker 6: Dungeon.
- 41:59Speaker 5: I don't know what that is.
- 42:00Speaker 6: Trip club. I'm not a big strip club guy, Tony.
- 42:01Speaker 4: It sounds like something you should avoid. I don't know
- 42:04Speaker 4: what it is.
- 42:04Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't think are going to the World War
- 42:07Speaker 7: Two museum.
- 42:07Speaker 6: Oh that's great, those trippers there. I don't know.
- 42:10Speaker 4: This is your first time going bachelor Yeah, it's great,
- 42:14Speaker 4: It's it's incredible.
- 42:15Speaker 6: We're all forty.
- 42:17Speaker 5: It's a middle year old as a bachelor party.
- 42:20Speaker 7: We're I mean like, we're gonna phase yeah, Thursday through Sunday.
- 42:25Speaker 5: Wow, that's a lot.
- 42:27Speaker 7: We're getting there Thursday night, no bro out, and then
- 42:30Speaker 7: Friday Saturday, and then we're all.
- 42:31Speaker 6: Going home Sunday. Remember my first Yeah, I remember my
- 42:34Speaker 6: first bachelor party.
- 42:35Speaker 3: My god, four nights. That is too. But I want
- 42:38Speaker 3: a fair question to you. It's about bachelor party going
- 42:40Speaker 3: on the World War two also a fair response.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Uh, you know forty, I mean Taylor went to like
- 42:45Speaker 2: the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 42:46Speaker 8: Or something, rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Pro Football
- 42:49Speaker 8: rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Pro Football Hall of Fame,
- 42:51Speaker 8: and then Spero point.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Yeah, a great trip. All right.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Yeah, here's a going has asked that's brought to you
- 42:56Speaker 3: by Do Seis Love, Mary Kill. This is good drunk cigarettes, Okay,
- 43:02Speaker 3: freshly cut.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Lawn or medium rare.
- 43:06Speaker 6: Steaks might be the best question.
- 43:08Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm gonna love a medium rare steak. I'm gonna
- 43:12Speaker 8: marry a fresh cut lawn because I gotta cut grass
- 43:14Speaker 8: all the time. I'll kill drunk cigarettes. I'm not a
- 43:16Speaker 8: cigarette guy.
- 43:18Speaker 2: I am going to This is gonna be a really
- 43:20Speaker 2: hot take right here. All right, I'm going to kill
- 43:23Speaker 2: the medium rare steak. Whoa, because I don't like my
- 43:28Speaker 2: steak to be still mooing. And I'm going to, I guess,
- 43:34Speaker 2: love the freshly cut grass.
- 43:36Speaker 5: And I'm gonna marry a drunk sig.
- 43:38Speaker 6: Yeah, you're gonna marry a drunk I'm gonna marry a
- 43:40Speaker 6: drunk sock.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Okay, I love a drunk sign.
- 43:46Speaker 6: I hate Yeah, I will kill the fresh cut grass.
- 43:53Speaker 7: I hate it, but I'll kill that, and then I
- 43:55Speaker 7: will marry the medium steak and then I will oh
- 44:00Speaker 7: drunk cig.
- 44:00Speaker 6: You know what I mean. I love a drunk cig.
- 44:04Speaker 5: I hated that.
- 44:05Speaker 6: Were you now I want one?
- 44:07Speaker 4: We were you trying to?
- 44:08Speaker 3: Uh?
- 44:09Speaker 4: We got to get play out.
- 44:10Speaker 6: It's f mary kill.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So they're saying that the dungeon is an incredible bar.
- 44:16Speaker 6: Oh, I don't feel like okay, So then I.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Got another one that said the dungeon is a hard
- 44:20Speaker 2: rock metal bar in the quarter.
- 44:21Speaker 5: It's a no camera bar, but the vibes are awesome.
- 44:24Speaker 6: A no camera bar.
- 44:25Speaker 5: I'm kind of into this.
- 44:26Speaker 2: I kind of want I am going to crash your
- 44:28Speaker 2: We're going to get to the.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Actually sounds like a cool place.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Uh yeah, I'm gonna kill the drunk cigarettes because it's
- 44:34Speaker 3: bad for you. Now, if you would have said zens.
- 44:38Speaker 6: Maybe protein protein cigarettes?
- 44:41Speaker 4: How many grams U?
- 44:43Speaker 6: Thirteen? I think yeah, I'm looking now thirteen that ain't.
- 44:46Speaker 4: Spoke ten to get a full serving.
- 44:47Speaker 6: Did you eat the whole cigarette?
- 44:49Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 44:49Speaker 6: I did?
- 44:50Speaker 5: Ye had protein in it?
- 44:51Speaker 3: Uh. Hashtag as bench brought to you by Do Seki's
- 44:54Speaker 3: what's your favorite food to eat cold?
- 44:56Speaker 6: Oh?
- 44:57Speaker 4: Tato salad?
- 44:59Speaker 3: Now? Okay, okay, I didn't finish the question what's the
- 45:02Speaker 3: best food to eat cold?
- 45:03Speaker 6: That originally is, so, what are you heating up potato salad?
- 45:07Speaker 4: Okay, you've never ever made potato salad?
- 45:10Speaker 5: Like the question was warm potato salad.
- 45:12Speaker 4: You've never had warm potato salad.
- 45:14Speaker 6: No that has got warm mayonnaise based potato.
- 45:18Speaker 5: We gotta probably pizza is the answer here.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Pizza is the chalk answer.
- 45:23Speaker 3: I would assume from everybody you want to go, I'm
