- 1:51Thornhill Toyota, wv DOT Colm, Welcome to the annual Pushkin and Dave Jewish
- 1:57Christmas Spectacular to you by Rich Lindsay and family. Now we did this show
- 2:02for the first time. I think back in twenty twenty. I was actually
- 2:05traveling. Had to miss last year show. Coop substituted for me on the
- 2:08show. Not exactly who else going to be? Who else going to be
- 2:12here today? I do know that Michael Ari Pushkin is here. How good
- 2:17morning? I'm doing well? How are you? I'm doing well? And
- 2:22Mike's got a little bit of a cold, but he's a trooper man and
- 2:24he's here. I've lowered the key on any song I'm going to try to
- 2:29do and we'll we'll muddle through it together. We also have the lovely,
- 2:34the talented Robert Now I'm sorry, Kate. Kate Boytech is with us as
- 2:38well. Katelyn, good morning, how are you even morning? I'm wonderful.
- 2:42This is like the fourth time you've been on the show. I know
- 2:44it's crazy, Yeah, it's crazy. Stay away. Yes, well there's
- 2:47a restraining order and that's why we have an attorney. The show is brought
- 2:52to you by rich Linda. You canna hear from rich a little bit later,
- 2:53I'm Richard, good morning? How are you? Good morning? How
- 2:55nobody puts Richard in the corner, but we did. He when it comes
- 2:59back in the Dale, Cooper is here. I don't know who else is
- 3:01going to stop by the studio this morning. This is our thing where we
- 3:05just decided to come together and have a little fun. Kate's gonna perform,
- 3:08Mike's gonna perform. I've heard that we have a visit from Santa Claus coming
- 3:14up a little bit later on as well. I have heard that I don't
- 3:16know for sure, but I've heard that Santa Claus is going to stop by
- 3:20a little bit later on as well. But it wouldn't be Friday if we
- 3:23didn't talk to our good friend Hannah Gardner from the Canal Trostreu Man Association with
- 3:27this week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week. Hannah, Good morning and
- 3:30Merry Christmas. Good morning Mary, see you all. You got a whole
- 3:35house fold, you got pushkin here, you got Kate Boyd. You and
- 3:38Kate I think bought it to the last time that Kate was a co host
- 3:40on the show. So everybody's here, and as always, I have the
- 3:45picture posted on the Facebook page, and that is the dog's name is Jackie,
- 3:51and Jackie is a lovely dog. Go over to Dave Allen Radio on
- 3:54Facebook or the Dave Allen Show on x The artist formally known as Twitter tell
- 3:59us about Jackie. All right, So Jackie She is a female and she
- 4:06is about twenty two ish pounds. I don't know how much bigger she would
- 4:15get, but I think she would get a little bit more bigger and then
- 4:18also probably feel a little bit of I think too much. But she is
- 4:25a very very sweet dog. She's pretty much all white except for her ears,
- 4:31I believe is the only thing that she's got some like brown brindle on.
- 4:39She's really sweet. She's considered a playgroup group a rock star about the
- 4:43shelter, which just essentially means that they show interest in They are good with
- 4:48almost every dog that we've had in the playgroup with them, So she does
- 4:55love to play. She's very playful with other dogs. She can be a
- 4:58little bit shy with people though, so she's still warming up learning that people
- 5:03are you know, not all people are mean. She's very very very sweet.
- 5:09I mean she's so sweet. In fact, Angie actually had her out
- 5:13yesterday up front in the lobby and she was just kind of hanging out.
- 5:16She was sitting there. She's very shy. She's you know, she toos
- 5:19her tail talk. So she needs someone who's going to be able to work
- 5:23with her make her feel a little bit more confident and comfortable and a good
- 5:27home. But she's never showed any kind of like resource guarding or aggression towards
- 5:32anything thus far while she's in with us. But she is very, very
- 5:39sweet, and I keep saying that because you just can't get over how sweet
- 5:43she is. Wants to meet her. But she's she seems to be kids
- 5:46friendly and she's dog friendly. So she just needs someone who can give her
- 5:51some fun playtime because she is still a puppy, and she probably do well
- 5:56with another sibling in the house that is a dog as well. So she's
- 6:01just looking for a really good home. And she's not fixed yet, but
- 6:03she will be. I have her picture pulled up here, Hannah, and
- 6:08I'm telling you all, this dog is so I mean, you can tell
- 6:11that she's sweet from her picture. It's in her eyes. She just looks
- 6:15beautiful. I love that she's solid white. I had a lib one time
- 6:18that would look just like that. That's what she put me in mind of.
- 6:21But you can definitely see that she's she's kind hearted in the picture.
- 6:26For sure. That was a good choice of a photo. She sounds like
- 6:30a very good dog. Said No, Dave was exhibiting some resource guarding in
- 6:34the green room earlier with the Christmas cookies. So she's better behaved than David.
- 6:40I'll knock a fool out man over some cookies now, better house trainers
- 6:44as well. I know that we're going to cut you loose a little bit
- 6:46early as we get on with the show, Hannah. But I do want
- 6:48to say you are heading out to Todd Judy today because they've got some kind
- 6:51of a special event going on over there, so tell us about that.
- 6:56Yeah, So we will be there from twelve, which talk Judy to By
- 7:00the way, we are going to be Patrick Street, look okay, Patrick
- 7:02Street not huh, yes, and we will be there from twelve to two.
- 7:06We plan on being there twelve to two, however, you know if
- 7:10it runs over that okay. And all adoption fees will be sponsored by Todd
- 7:15Judy, So all adoption feees are sponsoring. Yeah, you'll get to have
- 7:17a new family member for the holidays. All right, Hey, Hannah,
- 7:23we'll talk. We will be doing the show next week, so I will
- 7:26talk to you again next week, and as always, thanks for being here.
- 7:29Very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We'll talk soon, okay,
- 7:31you as well? How to go for and a gardener again from the
- 7:33Connel Charston New Main Association. Jackie nine months old, not fixed yet but
- 7:38will be bit shy but does warm up. A beautiful, beautiful dog picture
- 7:42posted on Dave Island Radio on Facebook and also the Dave Viland Show on xey
- 7:46Artists formally known as Twitter. Beautiful dog there, Kate, she was.
- 7:49She looked just like my first dog. I mean they looked really really close.
- 7:54She really, I mean, I know she said sweet quite a bit,
- 7:57but that dog did look sweet. But I liked said, I thought,
- 8:00that's a sweet dog. So go adopt it. And again there are
- 8:03those folks are gonna be over at Todd Judy on Patrick Street today with an
- 8:05adoption events. So if you're out at about doing your traveling, stop by
- 8:09Todd Judy and talk to Hannah and talk to Angie and talked to those folks
- 8:11over there. The Dave Allen Show on five D Live is brought to you

- 8:24It is the Jewish Christmas Spectacular. Mike Pushkin is here, Rob Reeal
- 8:28from her sister Station ninety six one k WS is here, Rob, Good
- 8:33morning morning. Sorry, I'm man handling Pushkin's Mike here. Sorry, person
- 8:37handling. I don't want to get called up into Ashley's office again again person,
- 8:43Mike's Mike. All right? Yes, So what is Christmas to you?
- 8:46My friend? You know, I grew up with not much, but
- 8:50one of the favorite things for me is my grandfather. Now my granddad,
- 8:54the one who raised me, but my maternal grandfather worked as one of Santa's
- 8:58stunt doubles at the closest shopping mall for more than forty years. Not only
- 9:03did he have kids of kids sit on his lap, he had grandkids of
- 9:09kids sit on his lap. And so it's just it's a special time of
- 9:13year of family, food, fun, lots of music in my family.
- 9:18I come for very musical people. And as somebody who's lived in seventeen states
- 9:22and three other countries, wow, I collect change of address cards as well
- 9:28as baseball caps and dust. The just any kind of togetherness that that I
- 9:35can get with family, I will soak that up every chance I get.
- 9:37And that's actually one of the reasons I'm glad to come back to West Virginia
- 9:39that it feels like home. It feels like family to me. And I
- 9:43want to say this too, because I know you're a veteran. Thank you
- 9:46for your service. But also but I also want to say, as you
- 9:50sat down and then we had a little sappy here. As you sit down,
- 9:52you open up presence, you have dinner or whatever, think about people
- 9:54that are that are serving overseas right now, that are that are far away
- 9:58from home. We all know people that are serving over there right now,
- 10:01and so let's give a big shout out to those people as well, because
- 10:05not everybody is going to be in front of the fireplace watching football and eating
- 10:09ham on Christmas Day. A lot of people are going to be doing as
- 10:11you did. Happened yeh as that guy who has literally been overseas and had
- 10:16to miss Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's birthdays, it means so much.
- 10:22Wouldn't y'all reach out? And I know that you know we have texting and
- 10:24social media and satellite phones and all those things are great now, but don't
- 10:28underestimate what a handwritten letter to a soldier, sailor marine or an airman would
- 10:33mean to actually have that physically in your hands, show up where you are
- 10:37overseas. So if you're looking for something no money to do it, well,
- 10:41forty nine cents for a stamp or whatever they charge now that can make
- 10:45a big difference in service members holiday season or even if it doesn't show up
- 10:48till Martin Luther King, it's a thought. The cat Rob real. You
- 10:52can catch them up real early on the ninety six one KWUS every Monday through
- 10:56Friday morning. Rob, I appreciate it, Man, thanks a lot,
- 10:58Thank you, sir. I was going to be hanging out and thinks some
- 11:01mothers from the stations are going to be here as well. This is the
- 11:03Jewish Christmas Spectacular. Mike Pushkin is here. Mike's about ready to coffee.
- 11:07You want to go and get out of your system. I held it back.
- 11:09I'm not going to do it. We're having a heating issue here in
- 11:13the studio and I text Mike and Kate yesterday I said, be warning,
- 11:16there's no heat in the studio and I forgot, and I don't say this
- 11:18lightly. Mike lives on the West Side, so Mike, he's kind of
- 11:24used to it, but I used to heat. But he's back now.
- 11:26He's back now though, it's back now. All right, So we're bringing
- 11:30rich Lindsay here in just a couple of moments, Dale Cooper's and Studios.
- 11:33Well, plus we've got some music. Mike's going to do a song or
- 11:35two. I know Caitlyn's going to do a song or too. Kate,
- 11:37I'm working on the Kate I've known three years. I've known Caitlyn literally known
- 11:43him thirty three years. I know my whole life. You deserve a medal
- 11:46or something. I think his wife is going to send me one. Her
- 11:50Mama and I actually grew up together. So so how is mama doing.
- 11:56She's good, she's doing her. She's got a new business today that is
- 11:58cheap go ahead s. The new business the Magnolia House in dan Voyce,
- 12:03Virginia. She's doing catering. She opens full time as a restaurant January twenty
- 12:07second. All right, what kind of food we got down there? The
- 12:09best kind? Okay, it's kind of home cooked, mama's food. I've
- 12:11had mama's food before and Grandmama's food. Linda can do her thing in the
- 12:16kitchen too, So Kate's here, We're going to take a break. We'll

- 15:28Pushkin is here. Delegate Mike Pushkin, State Democratic Party chair. Not allowed
- 15:31to talk politics today, but that's the rule. A couple of head one,
- 15:33but I got to get a couple of headlines in. Let me just
- 15:35say this. Gubernatorial candidate now former House of Delegates member more Cappado, was
- 15:39on the show twenty four hours ago, decided later in the day to make
- 15:41the announcement. He is resigning the seat of a legislature to concentrate on his
- 15:46campaign for governor. Hoppy will have more at ten oh six. I will
- 15:48have more next week. Also, former President Trump will be on the ballot
- 15:52in twenty twenty four. Hoppy, we'll talk about it. I'll get to
- 15:56it next Tuesday. All right, news politics done, Miked song for us.
- 16:00Sure, I think we had a text or a caller last year it
- 16:03was a texter requested the Frosty the Snowman, which in the past I said,
- 16:08I'm not sure why it's a Christmas song. I still don't know exactly
- 16:11why it's a Christmas song. But but what we didn't know and what your
- 16:15texter told us. It was actually written by a gentleman named Jack Rollins who
- 16:19was from Kaiser, West Virginia. He was inducted into the West Virginia Music
- 16:23Hall of Fame I believe in in twenty eleven, and he also wrote Peter
- 16:30cottontail. Really yeah, well, we've all learned something here today. I
- 16:34did. I did a little bit of research before I before I came back
- 16:37on and actually attempted to learn the song. So all right, it's all
- 16:42it's please anyone feel free to join along. I need all the help I
- 16:45can get. Not you coop, no, you coop ahead. I've heard
- 16:51from frost the Snowman was ai. I live happy a snow with the corn
- 17:02cock pipe and a bucking boats and Joe eyes made out the cold Rossy the
- 17:07snow Man, and there's a very tear. They say he was made of
- 17:11snow buck children though how it came to life one day and must have beens
- 17:17and magic that a little sick that they found. And when Mary scared and
- 17:22on his head, he began to dance around cross this snow man and was
- 17:27alive as he could be. And the children say, laughing, way just
- 17:33to say that somebody that count come bumping that I'm from looking ross the door.
- 17:40Somebody don't come bumper that dump dumping from the hill fishcoat Frosty the snow
- 17:45man. When sudden was hot that day, set let's run a will hasslb
- 17:51now before I'm deult away un down the hillers with the brow stick in his
- 17:56hand, running here and there all around the square, sad, down down
- 18:03the streets and down the trap. Holy pauls the moment where hook them Paula
- 18:11stop bo snow man snbury a buddy, wead good bye. Say don't want
- 18:18you cry out back. I'll be bad. Thank you very much. Trus
- 18:32Jack Rawlins from Kaiser, West, Virginia. Good John, Mike, that's
- 18:36very enjoyable. I started to sing with you, but then I was having
- 18:38so much fun. I was like, I'm just gonna enjoy this, and
- 18:42for once you can access it on the sideline, not at the scene.
- 18:47There, but ave Vlan on five A. I brought you apart by bright
- 18:49Way, the Maze Agency of Days Valley. By an auto insurance can be
- 18:52complicated. That's why you need a local person to look out for you.
- 18:55A bright Way the Maze Agency. They can customize your policies with the coverages
- 18:59you needed. What called John and Sherry three zero four eight one four two
- 19:03five zero nine to visit Brightway Mays dot com. I want to mark it,
- 19:04rich Lindsay, here from mom Rich and why have you steal that microphone
- 19:07from the infected Mike Bushkin there? So? Uh, Rich, I appreciate
- 19:12you, you know, because we talked about last time Pushkin was on the
- 19:15show. I kind of a little promo and you just called me right up
- 19:18and said I'd like to I'd like to sponsor the show. Now you are
- 19:22a candidate for office, but we're not talking about that then, because this
- 19:23is not the candidate, Rich Lindsay, this is just you that wanted to
- 19:26sponsor the show. Sure, yeah, absolutely. Why I hear two good
- 19:30friends of mine putting on a Christmas show and I thought, well, why
- 19:33not try to help out and sponsor and be a part of it. It's
- 19:36Christmas look like for the Lindsay family, A lot of food, a lot
- 19:40of food, a lot of food and drink. You were asking Rob what
- 19:44Christmas means to you, and just just to follow up what he said earlier,
- 19:47you know, food and family. Growing up, my mama would make
- 19:51more than enough food, bake more than enough food for everybody. And so
- 19:53that's that's what Christmas means to me. And so I've inherited some of those
- 19:57genes and so that's what I plan on do. When I started last night
- 20:00getting everything ready to cook. And you cook yourself, you're a cook.
- 20:03Oh absolutely, yeah. I told you if you like to eat, you
- 20:07gotta learn how to cook. At least that's what I've What your special what's
- 20:10your what's your Christmas specialty? Oh, we're gonna do Last year we did
- 20:12prime rib. This year we're gonna do tender loin. We're gonna do with
- 20:15mashed potatoes. We're gonna do red rice. My wife from Charleston, South
- 20:19Carolina. Red Rice has got bacon and tomatoes and it's really good. We're
- 20:23gonna do Brussels sprouts with bacon, green beans with bacon. Yeah sure,
- 20:30yeah, come on over and come on over. That's what we will probably
- 20:32be eating probably Monday around three o'clock, four o'clock, Monday, three o'clock.
- 20:36You got that, got that Monday Monday, three o'clock. We'll bring
- 20:41the music. You do the thing there. And I love the fact too
- 20:47that everything had bacon in it. Oh yeah, not Melly Snyder approved,
- 20:52by the way. But we love you. But sometimes you gotta you know,
- 20:56it's the holidays. You gotta live a little a little bit all the
- 21:00Christmas spirit and traditions. All that Dave caught was bacon. Well you know
- 21:07that's what it is. Who invited her on this show? Anybody? Well,
- 21:11Rich, I appreciate it, hang out with us a little bit.
- 21:12I appreciate you agreeing to sponsor the show this morning. Again, we didn't
- 21:17solictit it. We've done this. This is our fourth year and you just
- 21:19said, hey, I want to sponsor that. So yep, I appreciate
- 21:22it. Thank you, man. I appreciate it having and Rich I mean
- 21:25forever in debt to him, because I was talking. I had him on
- 21:27the show one time. And one of the premiere eating establishments in Charleston is
- 21:33the Smokehouse and it's been there for you know, forever. And I had
- 21:37never eaten the Smokehouse, and Rich said, you've got to let me take
- 21:40you to the smokehouse. And I said, work on to the Smokehouse,
- 21:42and Rich and I've had lunched there several times since. A big shout out
- 21:47to those folks. She's good home cooking over there. Rich, I'm sorry
- 21:49about that. No, No, I was going to say Smokehouse on the
- 21:52West Side. Mike's mothers is an institution down there, Yes, and a
- 21:55listener to the show too. We appreciate him, all right, So big
- 21:57shout out to to Mike, Kate, Boychech and the crew is here.
- 22:02Before we let you do a song, I want to talk about where you've
- 22:04been here as of Lake. You were in Nashville, I think last week,
- 22:07Is that right? I was. Yeah, I was down there doing
- 22:10some writing and some writers' rounds and things like that. On my off time
- 22:14of touring, I like to focus on my songwriting, so you know,
- 22:17Nashville's kind of the hub of that for me, and I'm fortunate enough to
- 22:21get to go down there quite often. And yeah, it's all over the
- 22:23place. It was twenty twenty four looking like, oh it's exciting. We
- 22:26have some brand new stuff that I can't really announce just yet coming out,
- 22:32but it is big, it's wonderful. And then we're going to be releasing
- 22:34some new music, which is you know, the biggest question, are you
- 22:37releasing anything new? We actually have something coming out early twenty twenty four,
- 22:41and then we will be consecutively releasing music throughout the year. And of course
- 22:45you did that big single not I guess a few months ago it was releasing.
- 22:49It premiered on CMT. Sure the video was shot in Charleston. If
- 22:53you ever get a chip, give the name of the song again anywhere anywhere,
- 22:56And it was shot in Charleston. Great, great video. And I
- 23:00mean she could have shot this anywhere, but she insists on shooting it here
- 23:03in Charleston. It's it's great. You employed our good, our good buddy
- 23:07sales. Weaseled extraordinary Tim Morris. That help out a little bit. I
- 23:11think you're driving Tim's car. Tim was wonderful and he said he's going to
- 23:15put that Jaguar in a museum. Yeah. One day I said, no,
- 23:18you're not. I want that. They've had a chilling five Adey Lives

- 24:14should tell everyone we've never done this song, so okay, it is gonna
- 24:18be what it is gonna be. All right, Well, it's fun,
- 24:21that's what this is all about. Go ahead, Kate, you're up,
- 24:23Kate boy tech. Well it's Christmas talmanny baby, and the snow is falling
- 24:36on the ground. Well, it's Christmas timean and baby, and the snow
- 24:45is falling on the ground. Well you being a real good little girl.
- 24:55A bag of tail god, no sleigh with the rein deer, no sack
- 25:04on my back. You're gonna see me coming, and a big black had
- 25:10a lag of It's Christmas time, pretty baby, and the stars falling on
- 25:15the ground. Well you be a real good little baby. Case, Santa
- 25:23Claus is begging town. Hang up, you're pretty stocking. Turn off the
- 25:33light. Santa Claus is coming down your chawn need a night over. It's
- 25:40Christmas tide, pretty baby. Santa Claus is back in town. Will you
- 25:48be a real good little baby bear? Santa Claus is back in town?
- 25:57Pretty sure? The first line with snow is falling on the ground, What
- 26:02did you say? I just kept saying, sands back and town. I
- 26:06tell you, guys, something funny with this song one climate change a little
- 26:10bit. When I first heard this song, I was singing it to my
- 26:12oldest daughter and I was saying, You're gonna see me coming in a big
- 26:15black Santa hat because I thought he's like a bad Santa. Peyton said,
- 26:19what are you saying. I said, I'm gonna see him coming in a
- 26:22big black Santa hat. She said, pretty sure, he's saying kind of
- 26:25like mom out of the Mountains of Bathe Tex says, heck, yeah,
- 26:30the King, Now that's what I'm talking about. Thanks for that. Oh
- 26:33awesome, Thank you guys. And you know what I've always said, my
- 26:37favorite Christmas song is the seven and it's like seven and a half minute version
- 26:41of Merry Christmas Baby by Elvis. You gotta get the seven and a half
- 26:45minute version. I love Springsteen. I'm a huge Springsteen fan. We defer
- 26:51to Elvis on this, and but if you're gonna do Merry Christmas Baby,
- 26:53you gotta do. It's basically only what I mean, he knows what I'm
- 26:57talking about. It's only like three minute the lyrics, but the rest of
- 27:00it is just his bad You know what. Musicians playing in the background,
- 27:04I mean, people I think sometimes tend to forget Elvis was a bad mo
- 27:10when it came to some of his stuff. I mean they think Elvis and
- 27:11you know, the Vegas Elvis or whatever. But you go back and you
- 27:15listen and Pushkin and I sit and talk music all the time. Go back
- 27:18and listen to Elvis in a time frame from about nineteen sixty eight to about
- 27:22nineteen seventy three, some of the stuff he did in Memphis and Nashville.
- 27:25It is some, it's some. It's some good stuff. It really is.
- 27:29I mean, get away from the hits. Get away, you know,
- 27:30just get away from some of the stuff that he did. He did
- 27:34back then twenty six minutes away from ten. It is the Jewish Christmas Spectacular
- 27:40with Mike Pushkin and what's your favorite Christmas song? Push or seasonal? So
- 27:48he's the Jewish and the Jewish Christmas bile way. Yeah, I'm glad I
- 27:51could add some you know, diversity, diversity to show to that. Yeah.
- 27:56I mean, you know, I didn't grow up learning a lot of
- 27:57Christmas songs, believe it or not, So always have to learn new ones
- 28:00for your show. And you know, it's good, it's it's it keeps
- 28:03me on my toes. I got to come in, I know, like
- 28:04the last Friday before Christmas. Every year, I got to learn a Christmas
- 28:07song or two for you, David and for your wonderful Do you have one
- 28:10that kind of sticks out or that that you like better than others? I
- 28:15like, I like like the Christmas songs that are kind of tucked away on
- 28:18albums that aren't Christmas albums. I think there's like a Steve Earl Christmas song
- 28:21out there somewhere I'm gonna do. I'm gonna, if we have time,
- 28:23I'm gonna to attempt to do a John Prime Christmas song, which is early.
- 28:27It's kind of a sad Christmas song really, but I like it.
- 28:30And uh, well, and I like that one. Uh. I think
- 28:34Doctor John has a really good Christmas song called Christmas in New Orleans. That's
- 28:37a good one. Okay, Yeah, I'm like you. I kind of
- 28:41like the I mean, there's only so many different versions of you know,
- 28:44of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer you can hear, or Silent Night or whatever,
- 28:47great song. I like something a little bit figured out. I think
- 28:48it's I think it's the Platters do a version of White Christmas. I think
- 28:52that's that's my favorite. It was in Home Alone. It was in the
- 28:55Home Alone movie, right right, Coop, Coop, jump in here for
- 28:57a second. Was that? What did I get that? Right? Was
- 29:00the platters? The platters? Okay, no, no, no, no,
- 29:02no, it's the drifters. You're right, there's the drifters doing white
- 29:06Christmas. That's that's it. That's my favorite. No, Cooper the Boss
- 29:08what they were Mike's uh, yes, yes, we do you do something.
- 29:12Wait a minute, uh uh what's talk about your Christmas? What was
- 29:17Christmas like for for the Cooper family? Now, you've got a little one
- 29:19and uh lovely wife, you know one of the things that's that's uh,
- 29:22that's really struck me, especially since I've had my daughter. So this is
- 29:25our fifth Christmas with my daughter at least only. She was a DJ on
- 29:29the beat for a long time. She works with Widdy Woulds on a lot
- 29:30of the projects she does. She does a lot of things in the community
- 29:33outreach. I saw she shared something on Facebook this week. It was she
- 29:36said something like those of you that have she said grandparents, but I also
- 29:41loved ones that are still near. You cherish them while you can, because
- 29:45some of us are drifting on memories, And I thought that was a really
- 29:49profound statement because that's exactly how I feel about, like my grandparents. I
- 29:52lost my grandparents when I was pretty young, so it's been decades now since
- 29:56I've known my grandparents, and my memories are drifting. You know, I
- 30:00don't have much left there that that's actually memories that I can remember. So
- 30:04I've been trying the last five years to really give my daughter something to remember
- 30:10and good Christmases and things that she can latch one to so those memories don't
- 30:12drift so much. Which your favorite Christmas song? Honestly, I dance with
- 30:17the sugar fron plumb Fairies from the Nutcrackers week. Okay, everybody's got their
- 30:21things, and you know, me with my personality or terrible personality, it's
- 30:25Merry Christmas from the Family. You know, that's the ultimate Christmas song in
- 30:27my opinion, because I can relate to that. That's my family growing up
- 30:30at Christmas. Merry Christmas from the Family. If you don't know what it
- 30:33is, it's been done by several people. I think Montgomery Robert it's a
- 30:40Robert L. King song, But Montgomery Gentry did a version of any know
- 30:44the funny thing about that last week and we'll go to break and we'll come
- 30:45back, and I understand Santa Claus is going to make an appearance. Just
- 30:48saw hi out in the hallway. We'll tell him there's no heat in here,
- 30:52so if he's looking for heat, he may as well stay in them.
- 30:55Actually he wasn't wearing many clothes. Well, let's welcome to the Santa
- 30:59on the Jewey Christmas Spactacular. But when last week, last Saturday night,
- 31:03I drove the truck for our sister station in Superstar Country KWS and the Windfield
- 31:07Christmas Parade, and I had the music, just had the station cranked up
- 31:11and we were playing the I think it was the Montgomery Gentry version of Merry
- 31:15Christmas from the Family. And we drove by the Winfield Courthouse and all these
- 31:18people when they heard it in truck we call the truck truck Norris and we
- 31:22were driving truck Norris and we heard and I'm driving the truck by myself,
- 31:27they heard that song and they all start singing the song Marry Christmas from the
- 31:32Family along with it, and I thought, man, how cool is this.
- 31:34I'm bringing a little white trash up in here to Putnam County. We

- 35:45keep in mind he's also mine too, so so so there we go,
- 35:51all right. Uh, Mike, Uh, this is Jewish Christmas batticky to
- 35:54do another song for us. Okay, this is uh, it's a Christmas
- 35:58song. It's not the most Christmas Eve Christmas songs, but I wanted to.
- 36:00I like this song a lot. It's a John Prime song of John
- 36:04Prime, who we lost a few years ago to what a talent COVID unfortunately,
- 36:08but I wanted to do this song because I kind of wanted to plug
- 36:13a show coming up February twenty fourth at the Clay Center. There is going
- 36:16to be a tribute to John Prime. John Ingram Is you probably know,
- 36:22is working on an in conjunction with Oh Boy Records, which is John Prime's
- 36:27record label, and it's going to be at the Clay Center February twenty fourth,
- 36:30and the money. It's a fundraiser for Recovery Point West Virginia, Okay,
- 36:35And so it's gonna be, you know, a bunch of people coming
- 36:37in doing a tribute to John Prime. I know where there's I know where
- 36:39there's a great singer over here to the right. I just think that's a
- 36:42good idea. The lineup has not been finalized yet, so but the tickets
- 36:46are on sale already at the at the Clay Center. But I think once
- 36:50the lineup is introduced, then it's really going to take off. Anyway.
- 36:54John Prime's Christmas in Prison fairly sad Christmas song. And let me position this
- 36:59micro It was Christmas in prison and the food was real good. We had
- 37:17turkey and pistols carved out of wood, and I'd dream of her always,
- 37:23even when I don't dream her heart and hard saw my tone runs in my
- 37:31stream, and we whilely turned to you, whom mother nature has got nothing
- 37:42on me. Come to me, run to me, come to me now,
- 37:47and rolling my sweetheart, we're flowing by dog. She reminds me of
- 38:12the chest game with someone i' admire, or picnic in the rain after her
- 38:17prairie fire. Her heart is this big gas. This old dog gone jail,
- 38:24and she's sweeter than Sapling made a drugs so sale. Wait while eternity
- 38:34food mother Nature's got nothing of me. Come to me, to me,
- 38:40Come to me. Now we're rolling my sweetheart tore flowing back dog. This
- 39:05search light in the book yard swings around with the gun, spot lights the
- 39:09snowflakes like the dust on the sun. This Christmas in prison, living music
- 39:16tonight, I'll probably get homesick. I love you good night way while eternity,
- 39:27old mother nature has got nothing on me. Come to me, to
- 39:34me, Come to me now we're ruling my sweetheart here flowing by well John

- 40:10producer today it is the Jewish Christmas Spectacular. Kate Boytech is here, Mike
- 40:15Pushkin is here, and we got a cast of thousands, all brought to
- 40:19you by rich Lindsay. Appreciate Richard doing that. I think we have a
- 40:22special guest. I do believe we have a Oh Marry Christmas. Hello,
- 40:30Dave, Santa, welcome to the show. This is kind of an unexpected
- 40:36thing that we plan for. It is awfully chilly in here. Is there's
- 40:40something wrong with the heat. It's colder than the North Pole. It's colder
- 40:45than a curious reindeer's nose. When I'm bent overloading the slave, Kate,
- 40:52why don't you come over here and sit on Santa's lap and they'll keep him
- 40:55warm. You know what the worst thing to hear when you're sitting on Santa's
- 41:00lap is, don't you Kate? H that's not centa. So I've gotten
- 41:07all of the Christmas requests that I have in my hand, the list,
- 41:12I've checked it twice. So all the gifts that are coming to everyone here
- 41:15at WCHS. For Dave, we have a Marshall Bowl wit oh too soon?
- 41:24Maybe next year? Maybe next year. Chat, let's see for Dave
- 41:30Weekly, a day without questions, for Hoppy, a day without politics,
- 41:36and for Coop a day without nonsense from all of you radio people. For
- 41:40rich over there in the corner, may all of your MTDs be granted and
- 41:45all of your tros be denied. For Chris Lawrence, who's on the disabled
- 41:52list, we're wishing him a speedy recovery. So everybody's been pulling together.
- 41:57For Carrie, who to sec a step ladder. She's tiny. I've got
- 42:01elves bigger than that little Jersey girl. For Jarrett, more Coca courage when
- 42:07he's doing the morning news. And for Ryan a key card that actually works
- 42:12in this building since he's new around here. For Jeff Jenkins, a Pulitzer
- 42:16Prize because that seems to be the only award he doesn't have. He's got
- 42:21more trophies than Bill Russell and Meryl Streep combined, speaking of Jeff's. For
- 42:25Jeff Petty, I've got a haircut, you hippie. Speaking of haircuts,
- 42:31where's Rob? Hey, Sanna? I understand you had a bunch of your
- 42:37haircut off this year. Yeah, yes, yes, yes I did.
- 42:39Well. Maybe this year we could get you some self control. You eat
- 42:44like a teenage raccoon. Okay, you should not be in the shape that
- 42:49I'm in at only fifty. For Jackie the Dog, a forever home,
- 42:54and for Hannah, hopefully a new job because all of the critters get forever
- 43:00homes and she won't be needed there anymore. Let's say, oh, I
- 43:05nearly forgot Anthony. We forget about Anthony sometime. A trey needs some sunlight.
- 43:08That's what he's getting here, all right, Yeah, and let's see
- 43:13for the others in the room. For Shane, we're getting you a mirror
- 43:16because you can't see Shane because this is the radio. He plays guitar backwards.
- 43:22It's very very straight left hander there. For Wes May, all of
- 43:27the shows have guaranteed payouts, and for the Lovely Kate a lifetime supply of
- 43:35par mare gas to get to all of those shows. Remember, if there's
- 43:42not a Kate Boy tech show near you, there, it will be soon.
- 43:45And okay, so we'll come back around Todave, so on the Christmas
- 43:50lifts for Dave this year is laryngitis. That's what you're getting this year,
- 43:54so your lovely wife and all your listeners can finally get some peace and quiet.
- 44:01That's the worst Santa I've ever met my entire life. You're a mean
- 44:07one, mister Santa. You get what you pay for. Dave Christmas Santa

- 44:27we're going to wrap it up, but we may do a little bit more
- 44:30music, including Kate's new single, and maybe we'll work in the break to
- 44:34close it out with a Christmas song as we go to break. We can
- 44:36do that. I can make that happen, right all right? You see,
- 44:39No, no, I'm not I'm not back after this. In a

- 47:00right, Tell us about tell us about the song, and then then we'll
- 47:04have to get out of here. Go ahead, yeah, yeah, So
- 47:05this is this is gonna be my first release of twenty twenty four. I'm
- 47:07gonna do a verse and of course for you guys, this is one of
- 47:09the first happy songs, all right, because I sometimes lean towards side girl

- 48:07he run the time where to Heaven? Don't stop because we're on the songs
- 48:24well sneak preview there now is that one that you wrote I did? I
- 48:28wrote that with Britain Cameron. Okay, is that one of the one of
- 48:30the out of the Nashville Sessions. When you're done the right down there.
- 48:34I may have asked you this before, and Mike, I know I'll bring
- 48:36you in on. This is why I'm fascinated with two things. It's musicians
- 48:38and writers, uh and and and And The reason I say this is because
- 48:42I always wonder what is your your process for writing? Are you a person
- 48:45that goes around with a legal pad or a you know, or or your
- 48:50phone and typeing in notes? Or do you just sit down and say I'm
- 48:52gonna write? Or is a combination of all all of it? Literally,
- 48:55as Coop was talking, I took two notes talking about his family. So
- 49:00so Coop Blues is coming up? Is that what you're saying? What about
- 49:02you, Mike? When you do you you write a lot of music yourself.
- 49:06I used to write a lot more music than I do now, but
- 49:07I was the I would start with lyrics always. Not everybody does, but
- 49:13everybody does it different thing. I would have the lyrics and didn't write the
- 49:15music. Lyrics, yeah, or ideas or something like that. You see
- 49:19something, you say, okay, that that would make a good song.
- 49:22Now we got to kind of work on it from there. I guess Dave
- 49:23Allen's show on five eighty line brought to you a part by East Coast T's
- 49:27and Vinyl and the Vinyl Frontier. Hey, if you're a political candidate,
- 49:30East Coast T's is more than just T shirts. They can custom do your
- 49:34embroidery on hat shirts of all kinds, make a campaign and your names stand

- 49:39they can do for you. Speaking of of of candidates, we have two

- 49:50Steve could take care of you there. Just just saying, just throwing it
- 49:52out there. Maybe we should have three in the room. I felt I
- 49:57played music for a long time. I needed, you know, something to
- 50:00fall back on, and when the band broke up, I ran for office,
- 50:01so you never know. Of course, we want you to be on
- 50:05the good side that no politics, Yeah yeah, no politics. We'll let
- 50:08you to determine what the good side is, all right. Between the between
- 50:12myself and Posh concerl are you off the road? Cake for a couple of
- 50:15days or are you I mean little bit? Yeah, sort of. I

- 50:20you got some time with the family and everything, and you got to you
- 50:22get daughters. So how old are your kids now? Six and fourteen?
- 50:25Six and fourteen? So that's kind of again as a non parent here,
- 50:30I would say that's that's kind of a wide gambit of what they of,
- 50:32what they want, and what they what they require Christmas ring. Oh absolutely,
- 50:37yes, it's uh, you know, I'm going from dolls to gaming
- 50:39computers. Okay, okay, we're at American Girl and Best Buy. It's
- 50:44just so weird. Yeah, in both worlds. You know. Well,
- 50:47I got I got a good friend of mine who has sons that are in
- 50:51college, but they also just adopted. So he's got uh kids in their
- 50:54early twenties, teen, lateeen's, early twenties and a four year old.
