- 0:00Speaker 1: Have mercy Father upon our hearts as we open them
- 0:04Speaker 1: to receive your word, and special mercy upon our speaker
- 0:08Speaker 1: his sins. Our many, help us to see Jesus only
- 0:14Speaker 1: Jesus through Christ. We pray, and all the church said,
- 0:20Speaker 1: my friend Dan is an avid runner who used to
- 0:25Speaker 1: log miles together. But then I got older and he
- 0:27Speaker 1: got stronger, and that's a topic for a sermon on
- 0:30Speaker 1: staying healthy for another time. He went on to compete
- 0:35Speaker 1: and complete and iron Triathlon in Lake Placid, New York.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Of all the iron Man events around the world, Lake
- 0:44Speaker 1: Placid is famous for its community participation. The residents of
- 0:49Speaker 1: Lake Placid population twenty five hundred, fill the high school
- 0:54Speaker 1: football stadium, and the final mile of the Ironman triathlon
- 1:00Speaker 1: is run on the high school track, four laps on
- 1:03Speaker 1: the high school track. The residents arrive early in the
- 1:08Speaker 1: afternoon so they can applaud the winter, and then they
- 1:13Speaker 1: stay all afternoon into the evening, into the darkness so
- 1:18Speaker 1: they can applaud the late finishers and the stragglers, and
- 1:23Speaker 1: Dan was one of these. He had been running and
- 1:30Speaker 1: biking and swimming since eight am. He was a good
- 1:37Speaker 1: half hour from the stadium, and his legs were cramping,
- 1:42Speaker 1: he had blisters, his feet hurt, and it was all
- 1:47Speaker 1: he could do to not quit. But then he heard
- 1:53Speaker 1: the roar. Then he heard the people, all the lights
- 2:01Speaker 1: on the stadium, distant in the future, he said, I
- 2:07Speaker 1: began to lift up my chest, and I began to
- 2:13Speaker 1: lift my feet, and I began to run harder because
- 2:18Speaker 1: of the sound and because of the lights in the future.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Within half an hour, he reached the parking Lot stadium.
- 2:25Speaker 1: By now the noise was deafening over the PA system.
- 2:31Speaker 1: As he entered the stadium, he heard someone say, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: now from San Antonio, Texas, Dan Smith. People he had
- 2:45Speaker 1: never seen erupted and began applauding for him. A stadium
- 2:49Speaker 1: full of people and children began shouting, Dan, Dan, Dan,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and he began again. Making that last mile around the
- 3:02Speaker 1: four lapse of the track, he was surrounded by supporters.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Gone was the pain, Gone was the difficulty, Gone was
- 3:14Speaker 1: the struggle. He was surrounded by a huge cloud and
- 3:22Speaker 1: crowd of witnesses. At the core of the Christian promise
- 3:28Speaker 1: is this. This race ends in victory. This race ends
- 3:39Speaker 1: in victory. And some of you have been running a
- 3:42Speaker 1: long long time and it feels like a marathon, and
- 3:48Speaker 1: you're weary, and part of you wants to give up,
- 3:53Speaker 1: part of you wants to throw in the towel. But
- 3:57Speaker 1: what God says to you, and what God's says to
- 4:00Speaker 1: me through the Book of Revelation is there's a great
- 4:04Speaker 1: day coming. And if you incline your ear toward heaven,
- 4:10Speaker 1: and if you lift up your eyes and look into
- 4:12Speaker 1: the future, you can see the lights, you can hear
- 4:16Speaker 1: the crowds, and it's enough to cause you to lift
- 4:19Speaker 1: up your chest and keep running. The message of Revelation
- 4:29Speaker 1: is the final book of the Bible. Seemed like it
- 4:32Speaker 1: took us forever to get here. We started in Genesis,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and book after book, page after page, chapter after chapter,
- 4:41Speaker 1: story after story, person after person, Old Testament into the
- 4:46Speaker 1: New Testament, and finally we're looking at the second Coming
- 4:50Speaker 1: of Christ, looking into the future. Many people are intimidated
- 4:56Speaker 1: by studying the Book of Revelation. It's so full of
- 4:59Speaker 1: simil and images they find difficult to interpret. And granted,
- 5:04Speaker 1: it's not an easy book to understand, but it helps
- 5:08Speaker 1: to know that the Book of Revelation itself has an outline.
- 5:13Speaker 1: John the Apostle, who authored the book, was instructed by
- 5:17Speaker 1: the Angel right. Therefore, what you have seen, what is now,
- 5:23Speaker 1: and what will take place later? Write what you have seen,
- 5:30Speaker 1: what is now, and what will take place later. So
- 5:34Speaker 1: John is told to write what he has seen. That's
- 5:37Speaker 1: chapter one. He saw Jesus, and then he's told to
- 5:42Speaker 1: write what is now. That's the Church age. That's why
- 5:47Speaker 1: the Book of Revelation has letters or comments to the churches.
- 5:51Speaker 1: That's where we are right now. We're in the age
- 5:53Speaker 1: of the Church, and the churches can find themselves in
- 5:56Speaker 1: chapters two and three. The bulk of the book is
- 6:01Speaker 1: comprised with describing what will take place in the future,
- 6:06Speaker 1: and that is a specific description of seven years of
- 6:09Speaker 1: tribulation that is coming to this earth after the Church
- 6:13Speaker 1: has been taken into Heaven. We won't be there to
- 6:15Speaker 1: experience it. But the bulk of the Book of Revelation
- 6:19Speaker 1: is dedicated to helping us understand what's going to happen
- 6:23Speaker 1: during a terrible seven year day, seven year stretch of
- 6:27Speaker 1: tribulation that will end with the second coming of Christ.
- 6:33Speaker 1: And that second coming of Christ is described in Revelation
- 6:37Speaker 1: chapter twenty one by the coming of the New Jerusalem.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Now I only get one sermon in the Book of
- 6:44Speaker 1: Revelation in this series, so I'm skipping over to the
- 6:47Speaker 1: good Stuff, to Revelation chapter twenty one. By this point,
- 6:53Speaker 1: the church age has ended, the tribulation is over. In
- 6:56Speaker 1: the New Kingdom, the heavenly Jerusalem is about to be inaugurated.
- 7:03Speaker 1: And just as my friend Dan could hear the sounds
- 7:08Speaker 1: and see the sciens of the homecoming, so John the Apostle,
- 7:13Speaker 1: the only apparently remaining living apostle well into his later
- 7:18Speaker 1: years some people think as old as eighty or ninety
- 7:21Speaker 1: years old, quarantined or isolated on the island of Patmos,
- 7:26Speaker 1: is given this vision, and he says in chapter one
- 7:29Speaker 1: and verse two, then I John saw the Holy City,
- 7:34Speaker 1: New Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, prepared
- 7:39Speaker 1: as a bride adorned for her husband. At least eight
- 7:44Speaker 1: times in the Book of Revelation, John says, I saw,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I saw an angel, I saw the kings of the Earth.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I saw a white horse, I saw a beast. But
- 7:54Speaker 1: this is the only time that he says, but I
- 7:58Speaker 1: John saw, as if to say, I that old Galilean fisherman,
- 8:04Speaker 1: I that apostle who placed his head upon the breast
- 8:08Speaker 1: of Christ. I the beloved One. I got to see
- 8:11Speaker 1: something no one has ever seen. I saw the New Jerusalem,
- 8:16Speaker 1: the city coming down out of heaven. I saw the
- 8:20Speaker 1: crown jewel of heaven. For what it's worth, I interpret
- 8:25Speaker 1: this literally. I believe a day will come in which
- 8:30Speaker 1: a city that we're about to describe will come out
- 8:33Speaker 1: of the heavens, a literal, touchable, tangible, walkable city. And
- 8:40Speaker 1: the reason I don't think this is just metaphor and
- 8:42Speaker 1: symbolic is because of what Jesus said just the night
- 8:46Speaker 1: before he was crucified. He said, my father's house has
- 8:50Speaker 1: many rooms. And if that were not so, what I've
- 8:52Speaker 1: told you that I'm going there to prepare a what
- 8:55Speaker 1: a place for you. I'm preparing a place for you.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And if I go and prepare a place for you,
- 9:04Speaker 1: then I will come back and thank you to be
- 9:06Speaker 1: with me, so you may be where I am. He's
- 9:09Speaker 1: going to prepare a place. It's a Greek word topos tapous,
- 9:13Speaker 1: a place topography. It's a literal place. And that place
- 9:17Speaker 1: is the new Jerusalem. So a new Jerusalem will is
- 9:22Speaker 1: being created right now in the heavens, and someday it
- 9:26Speaker 1: will descend from the heavens, and it will take its
- 9:29Speaker 1: rightful place on this earth. Forgive me, John. We want
- 9:33Speaker 1: to say, if I don't get excited about a new city.
- 9:38Speaker 1: When I think city, I think congestion and smog and
- 9:43Speaker 1: traffic in shantytowns. We don't get excited about cities. We
- 9:49Speaker 1: could get excited about a new valley or a new lake,
- 9:52Speaker 1: But a new Jerusalem. Why should we be excited about
- 9:57Speaker 1: a new city? As if anticipating our reluctance, he describes
- 10:02Speaker 1: the city and gives us two wonderful implications. Number one,
- 10:07Speaker 1: God has space for us. God has space for us.
- 10:12Speaker 1: The angel who talked to me held in his hand
- 10:15Speaker 1: a gold measuring stick to measure the city, its gates,
- 10:18Speaker 1: and its walls. When he measured it, he found it
- 10:21Speaker 1: was a square as wide as it was long. In fact,
- 10:24Speaker 1: it's length in width and height were each fourteen hundred miles.
- 10:28Speaker 1: He then measured the walls and found them to be
- 10:30Speaker 1: two hundred and sixteen feet thick. According to the human
- 10:33Speaker 1: standard used by the angel, you can dismiss any thought
- 10:36Speaker 1: of congestion. The new Jerusalem stretches the imagination fourteen hundred
- 10:43Speaker 1: miles in length, width and height. How big is that
- 10:50Speaker 1: fourteen hundred miles large enough to contain the land mass
- 10:55Speaker 1: from the Appalachians to the west coast in Canada to Mexico,
- 11:02Speaker 1: forty times the size of England, larger than the nation
- 11:06Speaker 1: of India. And that's just the ground floor. The city
- 11:11Speaker 1: stands as tall as it does stand wide. Suppose God
- 11:15Speaker 1: stacks the city, stacks the stories in the city as
- 11:19Speaker 1: an architect stacks stories in a building, then we're looking
- 11:22Speaker 1: at a city that has, hang on to your hat,
- 11:26Speaker 1: six hundred thousand floors, plenty of room for billions of
- 11:36Speaker 1: faithful people. It comes equipped with gates, so there is
- 11:40Speaker 1: a place to go and to come, which suggests that
- 11:43Speaker 1: there will be nature outside of the city. But the
- 11:47Speaker 1: heart of God's creation will be this new Jerusalem, and
- 11:54Speaker 1: it will have ample space for you. And Jesus says,
- 11:58Speaker 1: in my father's house there are many rooms, I think,
- 12:01Speaker 1: so there are many rooms, and guess what, there's ample
- 12:06Speaker 1: room for you. How long were you alive before you
- 12:12Speaker 1: realize that life doesn't always have room for you? How
- 12:17Speaker 1: long were you alive before you realize that, Oh, not
- 12:21Speaker 1: everybody gets to make the team, Not everybody gets to
- 12:24Speaker 1: go to that school. Not everybody gets their own bed.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It's sometimes constricted and restricted. How long were you on
- 12:37Speaker 1: earth before you realize not everybody has time for you.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Maybe your dad didn't have time for you, Maybe the
- 12:46Speaker 1: world didn't have space for you. This is as if
- 12:49Speaker 1: the apostle wants to say, Heaven has plenty of room,
- 12:56Speaker 1: plenty of room for all God's faithful. Not only does
- 13:01Speaker 1: it have plenty of room, it has plenty of provision.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Then the Angel showed me the river of the water
- 13:06Speaker 1: of life. On each side of the river stood the
- 13:08Speaker 1: tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its
- 13:12Speaker 1: fruit every month. In the center of the city, there's
- 13:16Speaker 1: a tree that is so large it spans both sides
- 13:19Speaker 1: of the great river that runs through the city. Its
- 13:21Speaker 1: harvest is so rich it requires twelve months to gather.
- 13:26Speaker 1: An ample city with abundant provisions. That's great news for
- 13:30Speaker 1: the thousands of people who squeeze pennies out of the dollar,
- 13:34Speaker 1: who live not just month to month, but week to
- 13:39Speaker 1: week and day to day. Blessed are the poor, Jesus
- 13:42Speaker 1: once said, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. What
- 13:48Speaker 1: great news this is for people who struggle to have enough.
- 13:54Speaker 1: There's a day coming when there will be plenty of space,
- 13:58Speaker 1: plenty of provision for them. But then someone might say, well,
- 14:04Speaker 1: but will God allow me to be in the city,
- 14:08Speaker 1: after the decisions I've made, after the poor choices I've made?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Will He allow someone like me to come into that city?
- 14:15Speaker 1: You're gonna like this? Not only does God have space
- 14:18Speaker 1: for us, then John says, God has grace for us.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Twenty one to twelve. She had a great and high
- 14:28Speaker 1: wall with twelve gates and names written on them, which
- 14:31Speaker 1: are the names of the twelve tribes of the children
- 14:34Speaker 1: of Israel. The wall of the city had twelve foundations,
- 14:39Speaker 1: and on them were the names of the twelve apostles
- 14:42Speaker 1: of the Lamb. Twelve gates, twelve foundations. On the gates
- 14:46Speaker 1: and on the foundations the names of the twelve tribes,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and the names of the twelve apostles. Now, don't go
- 14:54Speaker 1: too quickly past that. Stop and think about the names
- 14:59Speaker 1: that are on the gates. Stop and think about the
- 15:02Speaker 1: names that are on the foundations. Who are these twelve
- 15:06Speaker 1: sons of Israel whose names we see on the city gates? Well,
- 15:10Speaker 1: Simeon and Levi would be listed there. You remember their story.
- 15:15Speaker 1: They were the two brothers, the two children or two
- 15:17Speaker 1: sons of Jacob, who convinced the tribe of men to
- 15:20Speaker 1: undergo circumcision, and then three days into their recovery they
- 15:24Speaker 1: attacked and killed them. Then there was Judah, another one
- 15:28Speaker 1: of the twelve, a son of Jacob, who mistook his
- 15:30Speaker 1: daughter in law Tamar for a harlot. He slept with
- 15:34Speaker 1: and impregnated her. Then there were the nine brothers who
- 15:37Speaker 1: conspired to kill another brother, Joseph, and they would have
- 15:40Speaker 1: succeeded had Reuben not intervened. So they just sold Joseph
- 15:44Speaker 1: into Egyptian slavery. These are warring, scheming hustlers. Sounds more
- 15:51Speaker 1: like a nightclub crowd than the names you would engrave
- 15:55Speaker 1: on the walls or the entrance into the city of Jerusalem.
- 16:01Speaker 1: And then what about the apostles. Peter's name is carved
- 16:06Speaker 1: on the foundation, Peter the Apostle who saved his skin
- 16:09Speaker 1: instead of saving his savior. James and John, remember they
- 16:14Speaker 1: were the ones whose mother demanded vip seats for them
- 16:19Speaker 1: in heaven. There was Thomas the Dubious, who wanted a
- 16:22Speaker 1: personal audience with Jesus. All of these names make Heaven's
- 16:27Speaker 1: honor roll. These are the disciples who told the children
- 16:33Speaker 1: to leave Jesus alone, who told Jesus to leave the
- 16:35Speaker 1: hungry alone, and most of all, who left Jesus alone.
- 16:41Speaker 1: At his crucifixion, all the disciples forsook him and fled.
- 16:46Speaker 1: The scripture says Matthew did, Peter did, Bartholomew did. All
- 16:50Speaker 1: of the names that appear on the foundations are names
- 16:55Speaker 1: of men who were there only by the great grace
- 16:59Speaker 1: of God. When we carve people's names into walls, it's
- 17:05Speaker 1: because they're heroes, or it's because they're philanthropists. When God
- 17:10Speaker 1: carves someone's name into the wall of his city, it's
- 17:14Speaker 1: because He has covered them with a great and unquenchable grace.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I have grace for you. I have grace for you,
- 17:26Speaker 1: he says. Some of you need to hear that a
- 17:32Speaker 1: sense in my spirit that somebody right now needs to
- 17:35Speaker 1: hear that God has great grace for you. You've been
- 17:41Speaker 1: thinking for a long time that God is angry and
- 17:45Speaker 1: that God has ticked off. But He's using this message
- 17:51Speaker 1: right now to melt that fear and tell you, Ah,
- 17:56Speaker 1: I've got your name written in the Book of Life.
- 18:04Speaker 1: He will not remember your sin and If there is
- 18:07Speaker 1: news even greater than that, it is this from Revelation
- 18:11Speaker 1: twenty two and verse three. No longer will there be
- 18:15Speaker 1: any curse. He will not only remove your sin, he
- 18:22Speaker 1: will listen to this your capacity to sin. I can't
- 18:29Speaker 1: wait to see you in the new Jerusalem. That tendency
- 18:35Speaker 1: you have towards selfishness that'll be gone. That tendency I
- 18:39Speaker 1: have toward greed, That'll be gone. That tendency we have
- 18:42Speaker 1: toward competition and warring and fighting with each other, gone, gone, gone.
- 18:48Speaker 1: We will finally be the people God created his people
- 18:51Speaker 1: to be. There will no longer be any curse. Remember
- 18:56Speaker 1: what the curse is. The curse is the consequence of sin.
- 19:02Speaker 1: The curse is the consequence of sin. The shame, the fear,
- 19:06Speaker 1: the anger, the hostility, all that creates the chaos and
- 19:09Speaker 1: the havoc on the world right now, in the world
- 19:12Speaker 1: right now, is the curse. The curse is the consequence
- 19:17Speaker 1: of sin. It's the hangover of the rebellion. Adam and
- 19:20Speaker 1: Eve sinned. They relied on a tree to give them
- 19:23Speaker 1: what only God could give life, And when they sinned,
- 19:26Speaker 1: innocence caught the last flight to Seattle, opening the door
- 19:30Speaker 1: for guilt and shame to move in. Everything changed. No
- 19:37Speaker 1: longer did they walk with God in the cool of
- 19:39Speaker 1: the evening. They feared God and they avoided his presence.
- 19:44Speaker 1: When God asked, where are you, Adam said, I heard
- 19:46Speaker 1: your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because
- 19:48Speaker 1: I was naked, and I hid myself. What happened? Sin happened.
- 19:54Speaker 1: He had been walking with God in the cool of
- 19:56Speaker 1: the evening, unashamed, but now because of sin, when he
- 19:59Speaker 1: hears here's the voice of God, he assumes that God
- 20:02Speaker 1: is mad, and he hides. And people have been hiding
- 20:05Speaker 1: from God ever since, covering themselves up not with fig leaves,
- 20:09Speaker 1: but with careers and busyness and habits and addictions, covering
- 20:14Speaker 1: up their pain, covering up their loneliness. Relating to God
- 20:18Speaker 1: was no longer as simple as a walk in the garden,
- 20:22Speaker 1: nor was relating to each other. We have the impression
- 20:26Speaker 1: that Adam and Eve got along pretty well before sin,
- 20:31Speaker 1: But after sin, Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the snake.
- 20:35Speaker 1: The snake was nowhere to be found, and relationships became complex.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Even their two sons attacked each other, and their days
- 20:47Speaker 1: became numbered. The knockout punch of the curse was death.
- 20:52Speaker 1: God said, you will return to the ground, for out
- 20:55Speaker 1: of it you were taken, So as fast as you
- 20:58Speaker 1: can bite an apple, humanity began running from God. Nature
- 21:05Speaker 1: began a war with humanity, and our lifespan had an
- 21:13Speaker 1: expiration date. Everything changed, but all of that is going
- 21:19Speaker 1: to be removed in the Nude Jerusalem Again Revelation twenty
- 21:23Speaker 1: two to three, no longer will there be any curse.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I can't imagine a world with no curse. I can't
- 21:34Speaker 1: imagine a world where we truly love God and love
- 21:37Speaker 1: our neighbor, can you. I can't imagine a world where
- 21:43Speaker 1: we truly have nothing but goodness among us, and our
- 21:47Speaker 1: streets are flooded with kindness, and love is the hallmark
- 21:53Speaker 1: of the city, and joy is written on each and
- 21:56Speaker 1: every one of our hearts. I have a hard time
- 21:59Speaker 1: imagining that because we've never seen it. But that day
- 22:03Speaker 1: is coming. I'm making everything new, Jesus said, everything new.
- 22:11Speaker 1: The old will be gone, gone with the hospital waiting rooms,
- 22:15Speaker 1: gone with the tear stained divorce papers, gone with emotionless ultrasounds,
- 22:19Speaker 1: gone with the loneliness, the foreclosure notices, and the abuse.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Gone with the cancer Jesus says, I am making everything new.
- 22:29Speaker 1: The ultimate act of redemption by a redeemer will be
- 22:34Speaker 1: to take this world so stained and bloodied with violence
- 22:38Speaker 1: and heartache, and he'll make it all new. He'll wash
- 22:42Speaker 1: it new. He will reclaim every atom, every emotion, every insect,
- 22:46Speaker 1: every animal, every relationship, and every galaxy. He will reclaim
- 22:51Speaker 1: every diseased body and every diseased mind. Because he is
- 22:57Speaker 1: the King, rightfully belongs to him, and to do anything
- 23:03Speaker 1: less would be an admission of defeat. And he will
- 23:07Speaker 1: not be defeated. The created world, Paul says, can hardly
- 23:14Speaker 1: wait for what's coming next. Even the trees can sense it,
- 23:20Speaker 1: even the globe but consense it. Even the universe can
- 23:23Speaker 1: sense it. There is a rumbling. The created world can
- 23:26Speaker 1: hardly wait. So every page, every promise of the Bible
- 23:30Speaker 1: invites us and lures us with the hope of a
- 23:34Speaker 1: new day, a new Earth, and a new kingdom. Would
- 23:39Speaker 1: you let the promise of the new kingdom excite you?
- 23:48Speaker 1: Feels like a marathon, doesn't it feels like a triathlon.
- 23:53Speaker 1: We get tired, we grow weary, and to many people
- 24:00Speaker 1: are just giving up to that emotion of despair. God says,
- 24:07Speaker 1: lift up your eyes, listen for the sound.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Look at the lights. You're all most finished. Can you hear?
- 24:18Speaker 2: Can you hear the people? Can you hear them calling
- 24:22Speaker 2: your name? Who's calling your name?
- 24:27Speaker 1: Is there a grandmother who taught you how to pray,
- 24:33Speaker 1: who's long gone before. Is there a Sunday school teacher
- 24:38Speaker 1: who gave you your first Bible who's looking down on
- 24:41Speaker 1: you right now? Is there a mom or a dad.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Maybe there's one of your children, an unborn child. Maybe
- 24:53Speaker 1: there's just a good friend. Can you hear them? Would
- 24:57Speaker 1: you allow your spirit to hear them say, come on,
- 25:01Speaker 1: don't give up, It's all right. You don't know how
- 25:05Speaker 1: close you are to the finish line. Would you allow
- 25:08Speaker 1: that thought to cause you to lift up your shoulders
- 25:12Speaker 1: and go at it again? Give more forgiveness, be more patient,
- 25:17Speaker 1: seek to be more like Christ. Just keep going, keep going,
- 25:21Speaker 1: keep going. Friend of mine sent me an email just
- 25:30Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago telling me about a friend
- 25:35Speaker 1: who had surgery performed on her brain and removing a tumor.
- 25:38Speaker 1: The doctor was concerned that the slightest miscue had the
- 25:41Speaker 1: potential to cause the loss of either her memory or
- 25:45Speaker 1: her eyesight, and so he gave the woman the option
- 25:49Speaker 1: of which side of the tissue upon which they would operate.
- 25:52Speaker 1: In other words, if it came to it, if she
- 25:55Speaker 1: had to lose either her memory or her eyesight, which
- 26:00Speaker 1: would she rather lose. She said, I think I need
- 26:06Speaker 1: to give that some thought, and she did, and she
- 26:12Speaker 1: contacted the doctor the next day. She said, if I
- 26:16Speaker 1: have to lose one, I would prefer to lose my memory.
- 26:21Speaker 1: And the doctor said, the chance of that happening is
- 26:25Speaker 1: extremely remote, but thank you for telling me. And I'm
- 26:30Speaker 1: wondering why. How did you arrive at your decision? And
- 26:37Speaker 1: the woman said, well, I'd rather see where I'm going
- 26:42Speaker 1: than know where I've been. Can you see where you're going? Oh?
- 26:52Speaker 1: What joy awaits you, my friend, What glory awaits you,
- 27:00Speaker 1: what purity awaits you, And what an opportunity awaits you
- 27:05Speaker 1: and me when we see face to face Jesus Christ,
- 27:11Speaker 1: our King, who died for us, who will come for us,
- 27:18Speaker 1: and who has promised us. In my father's house there
- 27:22Speaker 1: are many mansions, and I am going to prepare a
- 27:26Speaker 1: place for you. Amen, Most Heavenly Father. We bless you now,
- 27:33Speaker 1: We bless you, and we thank you our lives can
- 27:38Speaker 1: get so small, our eyes can get so low to
- 27:41Speaker 1: the ground that we forget to lift up our eyes
- 27:45Speaker 1: and look into the future. Would you grant us, by
- 27:48Speaker 1: the virtue of your Holy Spirit, who lives within us,
- 27:51Speaker 1: this sense of excitement and joy about the next life,
- 27:56Speaker 1: about the new Jerusalem. This is our prayer through Christ
- 28:01Speaker 1: and all the Church said, Amen.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Stand stand, stand, stand, stand, stand stand.
- 31:11Speaker 4: Loving you alone feels so beautiful, and yet it hurts
- 31:22Speaker 4: the most.
- 31:27Speaker 5: You became my quiet sunrise, the dream I never dared
- 31:32Speaker 5: to say. Every smile you gave so freely took my
- 31:38Speaker 5: breath a little away. I held this love like fragile glass,
- 31:45Speaker 5: so precious, soft and true, But every being inside my
- 31:50Speaker 5: heart was only reaching out to you.
- 31:55Speaker 6: Unspoken love is sweet and painful, cone even mixed with rain.
- 32:03Speaker 4: Let's send the whole.
- 32:04Speaker 7: Bial so tightly while it slowly breaks me. Loving you
- 32:11Speaker 7: from just one side now leaves my soul in silent blue.
- 32:17Speaker 6: Because the deeper that I fall along, the lonelier I do.
- 32:26Speaker 6: I can't blame my heart for choosing someone.
- 32:30Speaker 7: It could never keep, so I smiled through hidden heartache.
- 32:36Speaker 7: Hell love you quietly. Spoken love is sweet and painful.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Like con even mixed with rain.
- 32:47Speaker 7: Let's end the whole bial, so tightly walid, slowly it
- 32:53Speaker 7: breaks me, loving you from just one side. Now leave
- 32:58Speaker 7: my soul in silent pocause the deeper that I follow,
- 33:05Speaker 7: the lonely I do.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Maybe, loving you in silence it's.
- 33:28Speaker 7: The closest I can stay, though leaves behind the sorrow
- 33:34Speaker 7: that may.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Never fast away.
- 33:41Speaker 6: Spoken love is sweet and painful, like honey mixed with rain,
- 33:49Speaker 6: A tender whole bild so.
- 33:51Speaker 7: Tightly wald slowly breaks me loving you from just one side.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Now leave my.
- 34:00Speaker 6: Soul in sile, because the deeper that I followed, the
