Latest / The Psychic Explorer / Spirit Communication: A Story of Love and Loss with Nat Lockett 🔮
Transcript
- 0:08Hello and welcome to another episode of The Psyche
- 0:12Explorer. And my word, have I got an absolutely
- 0:15gorgeous episode for you today. Today's guest
- 0:18is Nat Lockett. Nat is a developing medium and
- 0:22we met in an online circle. We've read for one
- 0:25another several times and Nat gives such gentle,
- 0:29calm readings. It's when she reads for you, it's
- 0:32such a beautiful experience. And as I explained
- 0:34in this conversation, the basis for it was born
- 0:38from something else. I originally reached out
- 0:41to Nat to see if she had any spooky stories that
- 0:43I could share for my Halloween episode. The email
- 0:47that I received back, it justified an entire
- 0:49episode just for Nat. You will hear these stories
- 0:53as we go through our conversation and I'm sure
- 0:57she has many more to tell as well. But the reason
- 1:00I wanted to give Nat an opportunity to talk about
- 1:03her experiences, not only because it may resonate
- 1:07with you as a dear listener, but also I really
- 1:10want to try and showcase or at least try and
- 1:13showcase as many different experiences people
- 1:15have onto this path as possible. But the point
- 1:20that I made in my Winter Solstice Ghost Stories
- 1:22episode was that ghost stories don't have to
- 1:26be scary, they don't have to be spooky, they
- 1:28don't have to be terrifying. They can actually
- 1:30be something really affirming and really positive
- 1:34and the vast majority of Nat's experiences are
- 1:38exactly that. They are positive. She saw them
- 1:42and she still sees them as something beautiful.
- 1:45Communication from loved ones who are no longer
- 1:48with us. And what I especially love and what
- 1:50comes through on this conversation and this episode
- 1:53so strongly in my opinion is the theme of love
- 1:56and she bakes this into her family. It is the
- 2:00first thing her and her husband think of when
- 2:02raising their children. We start the interview
- 2:05with this amazing phrase that Nat's family sort
- 2:08of structure everything they do around and it's
- 2:10been led by love. If you take nothing else from
- 2:13this episode, my word, please take that. Whatever
- 2:16you do in life, be led by love. This is going
- 2:19out in April. However, me and Nat recorded this
- 2:22in January and it has been a week, my word, with
- 2:25everything going on in politics in the US. It's
- 2:30scary, scary times. And I think if we all just
- 2:33took a moment to step back and question, am I
- 2:36being led by love? Things in this world would
- 2:39be so much better, so much better. Before we
- 2:43start the conversation with Nat. There's a question
- 2:45I asked and I'm referring to some videos that
- 2:48Nat has sent me. She very kindly allowed me to
- 2:51share these videos of her communicating with
- 2:54her loved ones using a REM box and a regular
- 2:58bathroom light that flashes on and off. I've
- 3:01put these together and I've put these onto my
- 3:03Instagram Reel, so if you're interested, pop
- 3:05on over to my Instagram, the .psych .explorer
- 3:08and you'll be able to see them there. Not only
- 3:11that, but after we finish recording this episode,
- 3:14Nat wanted to tell me about a recent experience
- 3:17that her husband had had. So we recorded that
- 3:20as well and that is actually on video, that's
- 3:22on cam. Again, pop over to my Instagram and you'll
- 3:25be able to see a short additional story to one
- 3:28of the many that Nat talks about in this episode.
- 3:31Right, I have rambled on more than enough. Here
- 3:33is the wonderful Nat Lockett. Natalie Lockett,
- 3:42my friend from across the pond. Nat, how are
- 3:46you? I'm doing well, how are you? I'm very well,
- 3:50thank you. You said earlier on before we started
- 3:52recording that you got a bit of a tickly cough,
- 3:53so I'm sending you all my healing vibes and hoping
- 3:56that you can suppress this cough for today's
- 3:58conversation. How are you? How was your Christmas?
- 4:03Christmas was lovely, very. Small, stayed home,
- 4:08it was great. How about yours? Yeah, it was good.
- 4:10It was good, thank you. I put on a few kilos.
- 4:14You and me both. Yeah, it's like if you can't
- 4:17put on and do it at Christmas, then when the
- 4:18hell can you do it, you know? Absolutely. And
- 4:21for listeners thinking why the hell are you talking
- 4:22about Christmas, it is April. We are recording
- 4:25this in very early January, so this is the first
- 4:28time that me and Nat have seen each other since
- 4:29Christmas. Now, before we get started, could
- 4:32you just explain to the dear listeners Who are
- 4:35you? Introduce yourself if you would. Yeah, so
- 4:39I'm Natalie. You can call me Nat or Natalie,
- 4:42either way. I am a stay at home mom and a developing
- 4:48medium. You know, just trying to live this life
- 4:52following the lead of love, making this world
- 4:55a better place. Yeah, that's it. That's all I
- 4:59do. What a beautiful phrase. Oh, following the
- 5:02lead of love. Where does that come from? It's
- 5:05kind of just my family's motto, if you will.
- 5:08My husband and I, every decision we make, everything
- 5:11we do, everything we teach our children, is following
- 5:15the lead of love. Is this a loving thing? Where
- 5:18is this going to lead us? How does this help
- 5:20others? Does this feel like a pull of love that's
- 5:24leading us this way, or is it something else?
- 5:27And we just, yeah, follow the lead of love is
- 5:31what I... have been doing since I was born is
- 5:33what I like to think. I've messed up a lot of
- 5:36my path. But yeah, in my family, in my home,
- 5:40we try to follow the lead of love. I think that
- 5:43is so beautiful. I mean, we were talking before
- 5:46we pressed record about what's been going on
- 5:47this week so far. Again, just to remind listeners,
- 5:50although this is going out in April, we are recording
- 5:53this first week of January. And the start of
- 5:552026 so far has been... What a beautiful way
- 6:01to raise your family with that as your motto.
- 6:04I think so many people will benefit if they have
- 6:06something like that. Is it easy though? No, no
- 6:11it's not because I mean in one way yes, it's
- 6:15my automatic, it's just like my automatic. I
- 6:19don't know how to explain it any other way other
- 6:22than that's just what I do and that's what we
- 6:25do. It is not easy for myself at times because
- 6:31it's hard to use my voice and that's something
- 6:34that I've had to learn how to do. It's easier
- 6:36to use my voice for other people. It's easier
- 6:39for me to follow the lead of love. So I correct
- 6:42myself. Yes, it's easy to do when it involves
- 6:45others. Something's happening to someone else.
- 6:47I step up and I use my voice. However, following
- 6:51the lead of love for myself is something that
- 6:53I am working on. Yeah. Thank you so much for
- 6:57coming on today, Nat. I reached out to you, well,
- 7:00through a mutual circle friend, actually. We'd
- 7:03obviously spoken to each other a few times before
- 7:04then, because we go to the same online circle.
- 7:06But I was putting the feelers out for some spooky
- 7:09stories for the Halloween episode. And Chelsea
- 7:12said, well, I don't have any, but Nat might.
- 7:15And so she got an email to you. And the email
- 7:18that I received off the back of that conversation
- 7:20was... story after story after story. It was
- 7:23possibly the best email I have ever received.
- 7:26And I replied back to you and I said, I think
- 7:28this is too good of an opportunity to ignore.
- 7:31You need an episode just for yourself. And what
- 7:35struck me now was that every story you sent me
- 7:38seemed to have this backstory or this theme of
- 7:41communication with it. Yeah, absolutely. I did
- 7:45reach out for the spooky stories. and I gave
- 7:48you this list. However, I was so hesitant to
- 7:51send it to you because they're not spooky to
- 7:52me. And so I am like, yes, I have a list of all
- 7:56these experiences, but they don't really fit
- 7:59with spooky because nothing has felt. A correction,
- 8:02one time spooky, however, it's a lack of understanding
- 8:07which leads to my spooky feeling. So I just wanted
- 8:11to say that because my list is all like loving
- 8:15and exciting and full of curiosity rather than
- 8:18spookiness. So I do want to say that because
- 8:20it was just kind of on repeat in my mind. Absolutely.
- 8:25With that in mind, shall I ask the first question?
- 8:29Great, yes. Now would you take us back to your
- 8:33earliest memories of something that you found
- 8:36strange or unexplained and how did you come to
- 8:39understand that as a child? I have a story that
- 8:42my mom used to tell me from before I can remember
- 8:45but the first experience that I do remember I
- 8:50must have been five or six from yeah five or
- 8:53six and my younger sibling and I used to hear
- 9:01in the kitchen everyone would be asleep and I
- 9:03heard this forever and eventually I asked him
- 9:06and I Would hear pots and pans in the kitchen
- 9:09just a ruckus so much was going on Cabinets opening
- 9:13closing I get up and no one was in there Everyone's
- 9:16asleep. I'd look at my mom and dad's room. They're
- 9:18asleep. My others both my siblings asleep No
- 9:20one's awake. I'd go back into bed and it would
- 9:22just happen again And eventually I asked my younger
- 9:26sibling. We shared a room together And he heard
- 9:30it as well. And our imagination took over and
- 9:33we called it the werewolf in the kitchen. Not
- 9:36too terrifying then. No. So we called it the
- 9:41werewolf in the kitchen who would show up every
- 9:43night, just every night. And what's really fascinating
- 9:48about this is eventually it stopped. And fast
- 9:53forward to when we're in our 20s and I receive
- 9:55a text message from my brother. And he texts
- 9:58me and he said, the werewolf is in the kitchen.
- 10:01He didn't have to say anything else. I knew exactly
- 10:04what he meant. And it was just really comforting.
- 10:07I don't know. It felt like an old pal was back,
- 10:09if you will. It was really cool. Yeah, so you
- 10:13look back on that with not dread or horror, but
- 10:16positivity. Absolutely, yeah. There was no feelings
- 10:21of anything dreadful. Yeah, I felt very safe.
- 10:26I felt curious. I think curiosity is what would
- 10:29overcome us. And then our child brains took over
- 10:33and we called it the werewolf, which just added
- 10:35a lot of play into it. Yeah, the analytical part
- 10:39of me is begging to ask, what do you think it
- 10:42was? Was it an earthquake or was it something
- 10:45spiritual or spooky? But I suppose that takes
- 10:48away from the mystery and the romance and the
- 10:51magic of it. Yeah, you know, I'm in Washington
- 10:54and we have earthquakes quite often. However,
- 10:58an earthquake every night, that's not happening.
- 11:01No, no, it's not. Definitely something spiritual.
- 11:04There's no other explanation for what happened.
- 11:08I don't know if I'll have an answer until I transition
- 11:12to the spiritual side, and I look forward to
- 11:15that. Yeah, but not too soon, please. No, not
- 11:17too soon. No, let's knock on some wood, please.
- 11:21Let's not be too hasty just yet. So how did it
- 11:26feel to be not the only one to hear or to feel
- 11:29those things? What did that feel like? You know,
- 11:33that is the only experience that we shared together
- 11:35until we were about 15. But it did feel nice.
- 11:44I don't really... Growing up, I often felt lonely
- 11:49and alone because I was often in my own mind.
- 11:52Like, I take that back, lonely and alone from
- 11:56the physical world, from friends and things like
- 11:58that. I was often in my own mind experiencing
- 12:00things with my feelings, I guess, if you will,
- 12:05I don't really know. But to have my sibling experience
- 12:09that with me, I feel like is something really
- 12:12special and unique. And it makes me feel really
- 12:17warm inside that we shared that together, like
- 12:19that piece of our childhood that was so like...
- 12:23I don't know, like... It just makes me feel good.
- 12:29And to have someone that experienced it with
- 12:31me was nice, yes. Something to share when, you
- 12:36know, time when you were feeling lonely. Yeah,
- 12:38I get that. Yeah. I know there was a time that
- 12:42you knew when something was going to happen before
- 12:44it happened. I know that there must have been
- 12:46several times that this happened, but there's
- 12:48one time in particular that you emailed me about
- 12:51that you knew something really significant before
- 12:55you were even told about it. Would you mind sharing
- 12:58with listeners what that was and how did that
- 13:01make you feel at that time? Because as listeners
- 13:05will hear the story, that must have actually
- 13:07been quite dramatic. Yes. So before I share that
- 13:11experience, that happened when I was around nine,
- 13:15nine years old. My family life, I feel like plays
- 13:19in a lot, like leading up to this moment. I need
- 13:22to share that I often knew things all the time
- 13:26without knowing why. So in my family with my
- 13:29father, my mom, I was kind of the know -it -all
- 13:31without meaning to be the know -it -all. Everyone
- 13:34acknowledged it without acknowledging it. For
- 13:37instance, we're driving in the middle of a field,
- 13:39in the middle of nowhere, and my mom takes a
- 13:42wrong turn, and I'm in the back seat. I remember
- 13:45this so clearly, not knowing where we are. I'm
- 13:47like, Mom, you're supposed to turn that other
- 13:49way. And she's like, you don't know anything.
- 13:50You don't have the map. You're a child. No. And
- 13:53I'm like, no, honestly, we're supposed to turn
- 13:55that way. Well, we drive like an hour in the
- 13:57opposite direction. Lo and behold, we're supposed
- 13:59to turn that way. So I can imagine how frustrating
- 14:03that would have been to have. this little child
- 14:06telling you all the things you're doing wrong,
- 14:08all the things that are correct. My family kind
- 14:13of grew up with me being that person who just
- 14:16spoke the truth when the truth wasn't wanted
- 14:19to be spoken, if that makes sense. Knowing things
- 14:22that I shouldn't have known. So that's kind of
- 14:24what my whole life was. So then when I'm nine,
- 14:29my grandfather was very sick. He had cancer and
- 14:35was passing. We knew he was going to pass, but
- 14:37he was ill at this point and we didn't know when.
- 14:40My mom goes to visit him and it's me, my dad
- 14:44and my siblings that are at home. And I remember
- 14:48my dad was sitting in his chair and I remember
- 14:51so vividly standing in the living room between
- 14:54the living room and the dining room and I felt
- 14:57my grandfather. He was next to me. He was with
- 15:00me and he was telling me Not verbally, I didn't
- 15:05hear him, but he was telling me and I knew that
- 15:09he just passed. He was saying goodbye to me.
- 15:13Sorry, this actually might make me cry. If you
- 15:17don't want to continue now, you don't have to.
- 15:19No, I do. I'm a crier, so I just apologize for
- 15:24whatever tears come out. Never apologize for
- 15:26crying. It was such a gift and it was so beautiful
- 15:30to share that moment with him. And I turned to
- 15:34my dad, and I was sobbing, and I crawled into
- 15:37his lap, and I told him grandpa died. And in
- 15:40that moment, my dad was like, no, he did not.
- 15:43Someone would call us. Someone would tell us.
- 15:44And I was like, no, I'm grieving. I'm bawling.
- 15:47I know. I felt him. I felt his goodbye. I felt
- 15:51this piece of me leave the physical world and
- 15:54join me in my spiritual world. And my dad was
- 15:59just saying, no, no, no, no, no. And a couple
- 16:03hours later, I'm pretty much told to stop crying
- 16:06and to knock it off. And I'm, you know, my mom
- 16:10comes home a few hours later, just bawling. And
- 16:14my dad's hugging her at the front door. And we
- 16:18find out that my grandpa died. And that was the
- 16:21first. huge experience that my father had seen
- 16:27me have. It was so clear in that moment. You
- 16:30cannot deny that I experienced what I experienced.
- 16:34And at that moment, a few months later, my dad
- 16:37introduced fear into all of my experiences, told
- 16:43me that I needed to stop everything I was doing
- 16:45and to shut it down, that he was scared for me.
- 16:48But there was nothing scary for me in the experiences
- 16:50I had. It was quite beautiful to experience my
- 16:52grandfather leaving and saying goodbye to me
- 16:56to join me in another way. It was beautiful,
- 16:59tragic, sad, you know, but so beautiful. Was,
- 17:05were your parents, was there religion in your
- 17:07upbringing? So we didn't go to church. God was
- 17:12not something introduced to me. Goodness, my
- 17:15stories always end up at the end and go backwards,
- 17:18so I apologize for that. But my father was raised
- 17:24Baptist. We didn't talk about God in our home.
- 17:28My mom was also raised in and out of the church,
- 17:31but it's nothing. We didn't go to church. We
- 17:33maybe went to church once, but I don't even remember
- 17:36it. What I do remember is before all of this,
- 17:43from the moment I can remember, feeling something
- 17:45bigger than me. I didn't need to go to church
- 17:48to meet Source, God, Divine, Great Spirit, Samantha,
- 17:52whatever you want to call this love, this love
- 17:55that connects us all. I have felt it since I
- 17:58was a child. I grew up in a traumatic home, and
- 18:01I remember just laying in bed, and this love
- 18:04would come and be with me. And that's who I call
- 18:08what everyone else calls God, what I have. learned
- 18:12other religions and such. However, To fast forward
- 18:17to your question. My dad at that point pulled
- 18:20out the Bible and talked about all these things.
- 18:24I mean, I never looked at a Bible before this
- 18:26point and he really just tried to instill fear
- 18:30into my experience and he was scared. He had
- 18:33fear. He didn't understand this. He wasn't experiencing
- 18:37it the way I was. Instead, he viewed his daughter
- 18:42going through these things that he couldn't understand.
- 18:45taking him back into what he was taught. So I
- 18:49don't put any blame on him or anything of the
- 18:53sort for what he kind of tried to instill in
- 18:57me, but it just didn't work. I mean, I didn't
- 19:02have the fear. I just talked about it less, you
- 19:05know. What you're saying then that works out
- 19:07perfect for my next question about other people's
- 19:11responses to your experiences. You're saying
- 19:14that it didn't scare you, but did it stop you?
- 19:17Did you start to shut things down or did you
- 19:19just carry on along your own way and just keep
- 19:22it quiet? Yeah, I would say a little bit of both.
- 19:26I think that at that point, you know, becoming
- 19:29a teenager and things, and my life was quite
- 19:32messy with my family. I kind of was thrown more
- 19:36into my physical world, my physical life, and
- 19:39would... tried to disappear from that into my
- 19:43spiritual life. However, during the day, I was
- 19:46so involved in the moment that I did shut down
- 19:51and kind of separate myself a little bit. Experiences
- 19:56always happen around me. Spirit has always done
- 19:58things physically around me all the time. But
- 20:02as for feeling spirit and those kind of experiences,
- 20:06it really calmed down. I remember going into
- 20:10homes where I could feel shifts of energy, but
- 20:13not understand them. Looking back now since developing
- 20:17my mediumship, now I have an understanding of,
- 20:20oh, that's what I felt. And it's really cool
- 20:23to know what I felt was accurate, but just have
- 20:27a better understanding of what I felt then. But
- 20:30as for like the experiences, like my grandfather
- 20:32showing up, things like that really slowed down.
- 20:35I would say I spent maybe the next 10 years.
- 20:39feeling other people and who they were and having
- 20:43more of an understanding of humans and seeing
- 20:46who they were at the core and letting that kind
- 20:49of lead me and grow, I don't really know. Before
- 20:54we move on, I just want to explore this a little
- 20:55bit more because I've written down this little
- 20:57side question. Going back to when you were having
- 21:00these experiences when you were a child, I wonder...
- 21:04Do you or did you have any language for what
- 21:08you were experiencing back then? Or was it just
- 21:11feelings? I wonder, how did you interpret that
- 21:14at that age? So I thought it was normal. I didn't
- 21:20know. I always, so in my family, we don't talk
- 21:25about things. We're not, you know, I was told
- 21:27not to talk about things. We don't talk about
- 21:29things. So I thought this was something, all
- 21:31of my experiences, the things that would happen.
- 21:34From what I can remember, I remember it just
- 21:37being normal, just something that we don't talk
- 21:39about for some reason. Until, for instance, I
- 21:43share it with my younger brother because that
- 21:45was the boldest and loudest thing, right? That
- 21:48was continuing. It would happen over and over
- 21:50again. I'm like, I can't ignore this. I can't
- 21:53not talk about this. Pots and pans are making
- 21:56noises and there's no one there. Exactly, like
- 21:59this, we have to talk, we can't not talk about
- 22:01this. And I do remember my mom would mention,
- 22:06I don't have this memory, it feels like a memory
- 22:09of a memory. My mom told me that when I was young,
- 22:14still in a crib, you know, I talk a lot, I always
- 22:16have talked a lot, it's just who I am. And if
- 22:19I can't talk, I communicate in other ways. My
- 22:22mom told me that I would often tell her about
- 22:25a man in a top hat that would come into my room
- 22:28and come to my crib and play with me. I don't
- 22:31remember this. This is what my mom has told me.
- 22:36However, she told me there was a book when I
- 22:39got to reading age and there was a book with
- 22:42a man in a top hat. And I was so excited because
- 22:45it looked just like him. And at that point, my
- 22:49mom had excitement over it all. I do remember
- 22:53that my mom would talk to me about this, but
- 22:56then when you start saying everything and when
- 22:58everything you say is what people don't want
- 23:00to hear. I think the problem was there was a
- 23:03blur between psychism, which I didn't realize
- 23:05was psychism. I honestly actually called myself
- 23:07a psycho because I thought psycho meant psychic.
- 23:10So I would run around and say, I'm a psycho.
- 23:13I'm a psycho. I love it. Oh, I love it. I love
- 23:17it. I love it. Which is a family memory everyone
- 23:19laughs about until it no longer was cute, until
- 23:23I started getting information that was too big.
- 23:26And I didn't separate. what was spiritual experiences
- 23:31versus psychic information. It all was one in
- 23:36the same to me. Good golly, I forgot what your
- 23:40question was again. However, I think that kind
- 23:42of answered it. Yeah, it's about the language,
- 23:45about how you made you feel if you didn't have
- 23:47that language. I think what you're saying then
- 23:49that is actually really common. Back in the winter,
- 23:52I released the Winter Solstice episode where
- 23:55listeners sent in their ghost stories, which
- 23:57weren't scary. They were actually really affirming.
- 23:59And one of the stories came from my auntie and
- 24:01she was saying about my cousin at that time who
- 24:03was a baby. And my auntie had just got my cousin
- 24:06out of the bath. She was drying her down. She
- 24:08said my cousin looked at the back bedroom towards
- 24:12the back bedroom and she just said, hello. And
- 24:16my auntie said she looked around behind her but
- 24:18there was no one there. And she said, darling,
- 24:21there's no one there. And apparently my cousin
- 24:23looked up towards the bedroom again and just
- 24:26burst into tears because she couldn't conceive
- 24:29that what she was seeing wasn't there. And my
- 24:34point is, I've listened to and watched so many
- 24:36different things from psychics and mediums, and
- 24:38there's this thing that... You're not fully human.
- 24:41You know, until you're like 10 or so, you're
- 24:44still really connected to that world that we
- 24:47came from and we are going to. After that age,
- 24:50there seems to be this conditioning, this dialing
- 24:53down. I mean, clearly you, this has not happened
- 24:55to you. But for most people, it just sort of
- 24:58dials down the volume of this other world. Yeah.
- 25:02Oh, I just want to hug your cousin. That's such
- 25:04a sweet story. I just want to hug your little
- 25:07child cousin. You know what, if you haven't already,
- 25:10I would, and I'm not just selling this, but if
- 25:12you haven't already, I would re -recommend anyone
- 25:15go back and just listen to those stories. They're
- 25:18not scary, they're not spooky, they're just really
- 25:22affirming that there's something else there.
- 25:25I will definitely, I haven't listened to that
- 25:28episode, but I will listen to it with my... older
- 25:31child, I'm sure she would love to hear it. Perfect.
- 25:34A bit of upsetting nail on the psychic's floor.
- 25:38Before we move on to the next question, you were
- 25:41talking about your father and how he was instilling
- 25:45fear into something that was really natural to
- 25:47you. How did that affect you going forward? Maybe
- 25:51in life, with your confidence? I think tremendously
- 25:56it has affected and impacted me greatly. I still
- 26:01work on my confidence. It will be a never -ending
- 26:04thing that I need to work on. Being told something
- 26:08from someone who I'm trusting, something that
- 26:13I don't believe to be true is very confusing
- 26:17as a child. To have this beautiful experience
- 26:20and have my parent tell me how... fearful I need
- 26:24to be of it and how I need to shut it down, cut
- 26:28it off. And there was honest, I could feel how
- 26:31scared my dad was. He was truly scared, which
- 26:36was so conflicting and hard and confusing. Believing
- 26:43myself and trusting myself is difficult still.
- 26:49What is not difficult? is trusting and believing
- 26:53spirit. For instance, this episode, this podcast,
- 26:58where you're like, this is all about you, this
- 27:00is your podcast, that your episode, it's actually
- 27:04nothing about me. And it's not for me. This is
- 27:08an opportunity for spirit to share experiences
- 27:13that can be had and are had by all, the way that
- 27:17Spirit shows up so boldly and beautifully in
- 27:20everyone's lives. This isn't about me. It's just
- 27:24a story being told that Spirit is telling of
- 27:29how they've shown up my whole life. And that
- 27:32is what I have confidence in. Myself, none. Spirit,
- 27:37all of it. So when I first met Nat on an online
- 27:48circle, for me at least, there was this immediate
- 27:52connection or at least an immediate recognition
- 27:54of this just absolutely phenomenally beautiful
- 27:59soul before me. And I think re -listening to
- 28:03this as I'm editing this, I am just getting the
- 28:06biggest chills as she is talking. I really hope
- 28:09you are appreciating what Nat is saying. Her
- 28:11philosophy, her experiences just... Utterly beautiful.
- 28:17If you want to tell Natalie how amazing she is,
- 28:21she's not actually on a lot of social media.
- 28:23So if you want to tell her, please let me know
- 28:26and I'll forward your messages on to her. You
- 28:28can find me at the .Scikit .Explorer, Facebook,
- 28:32threads and Instagram. Yeah, just please pass
- 28:36on your love to Natalie because just, oh, just
- 28:40chills, just beautiful. Now, without sounding
- 28:48too patronizing, I think you are doing phenomenally
- 28:51on this episode. I know I said to you before
- 28:53that this is your episode, but I think what you
- 28:55were saying before the break there about it being
- 28:58about spirit, I love that philosophy. It's just
- 29:02absolutely beautiful. I really hope that my listeners
- 29:05or our listeners take that forward with them
- 29:08into their lives. You know, it's very easy when
- 29:10we step onto this path of mediumship, that we
- 29:13develop an ego. You know, we call ourselves developing
- 29:16mediums, but actually, it's very easy to develop
- 29:19an ego instead. And I really believe that what
- 29:22you just said, Dan, that is something that everyone
- 29:25should take on board when they step down this
- 29:27path. Really, really beautiful. Thank you. Let's
- 29:31get back to your story, shall we? Great. Please.
- 29:34So you moved into your teenage years. Did you
- 29:38notice any change in intensity? And is there
- 29:41a particular moment that stayed with you if you
- 29:43did notice a deepening of intensity? Yeah, absolutely.
- 29:49So there was one moment that involved several
- 29:53people. So it was really quite fascinating and
- 29:56I will never forget this. It's as if that happened
- 29:58yesterday. I was around 15 and me, my mother,
- 30:05my younger brother, and we went to visit my grandma.
- 30:09And at this point, she had a very old farmhouse
- 30:13up in Michigan, in the U .P., like in the middle
- 30:16of nowhere, a very old, old farmhouse. We were
- 30:20visiting her and she was an artist. And so we
- 30:25painted these paintings and we're sitting in
- 30:29the kitchen and we had all of our paintings out.
- 30:31And my grandma was just discussing them with
- 30:33us and, you know. Oh, I love that. I love that.
- 30:37Honestly, I miss her so much because painting
- 30:40with her was just such a beautiful thing. So
- 30:43there's this door closed, a rocking chair in
- 30:46front of the door, and all of our paintings in
- 30:49front of this rocking chair. Behind the door
- 30:52are stairs that lead upstairs to two bedrooms.
- 30:56Now, these two bedrooms don't lock. However,
- 31:00my mother tried to open one and it would not
- 31:03budge and would not open a few days before. So
- 31:05that's kind of sticking out to us. And then it
- 31:07opened up just randomly, which could have been
- 31:10heat, coldness. I like to really bring the mundane
- 31:12in and not have everything be spirit. It's very
- 31:15important. I think it's important to, you know,
- 31:17especially in Michigan, it gets really cold.
- 31:19Absolutely. Yeah. So it very well could have
- 31:21been that. We were up there during summer, so
- 31:23it wasn't getting too cold. I still insert that
- 31:28because I think it's very important. pictures
- 31:34sitting there and we hear footsteps. All of us
- 31:38hear footsteps coming down the stairs. As the
- 31:42footsteps reach the bottom of the stairs, the
- 31:46rocking chair starts to rock. There's no draft.
- 31:49There is nothing going on. This rocking chair
- 31:52is just rocking. And my grandmother has had experiences.
- 32:00before. And so this is nothing abnormal and usual
- 32:03to her. Instead, she's just continuing on. But
- 32:06I will never forget that moment where I have
- 32:10people experiencing something that I experienced
- 32:13on my own. They're all hearing it, they're all
- 32:16seeing it. And it was just like, I like I'm beaming
- 32:19right now. I know no one can see this. I was
- 32:21so excited to share this moment. Look at that,
- 32:25everyone. Look at that. Right. It was so cool
- 32:29and it was so lovely. I will admit that at this
- 32:32point I didn't want to be alone in the house
- 32:35because that was so bold. I think that was the
- 32:37boldest thing that had happened that I was just
- 32:40like, you know what? I don't really want to be
- 32:42alone. I want to experience this with others,
- 32:44but something about being alone, I just don't
- 32:46want to. So I'm taking a nap a couple of days
- 32:49later. And I wake up, and you know who's all
- 32:52alone in the home? I am. I am all alone. I asked
- 32:55my family not to leave me. They're exploring
- 32:57the property, looking at old farmers' machinery.
- 32:59I don't even know what they're doing. And I hear
- 33:03someone walking upstairs. And I hear someone
- 33:06walking down the stairs. And I have to run. I
- 33:09have to run through the kitchen, past the stairs
- 33:11to get outside to a sunroom to leave the house.
- 33:14And I did. I did leave very quickly. It's nothing
- 33:18scary. I was just... No, there is. There's something
- 33:22about inanimate objects moving on their own,
- 33:25especially rocking chairs. And maybe I've been
- 33:27scarred from The Woman in Black. Have you ever
- 33:29seen it or read it? No. Oh, my God, you must.
- 33:33It's amazing. Written by Susan Hill, she wrote
- 33:36this story, I think, back in the 80s and... They
- 33:40turned it into a stage show in the West End,
- 33:42I don't think it's on anymore, but went to see
- 33:44it a few years ago, and everyone in our group
- 33:46said, oh, it was so boring, but I loved it. The
- 33:49whole thing was just played by two people, and
- 33:52it was so atmospheric. and it's set in Victorian
- 33:56England and this house is on a little causeway,
- 34:00on a tidal causeway, it's cut off by this tidal
- 34:03causeway and it's owned by this woman and this
- 34:06solicitor goes to stay there to try and tie up
- 34:09this woman's affairs because she's died. but
- 34:12their rumour is that if you see the woman in
- 34:14black, something awful happens to all the children
- 34:17in your life. It's really good. That's terrifying.
- 34:21Oh, it is. It's terrifying. It's brilliant. But
- 34:24the reason I bring it up is because in the play
- 34:27and in the film, there's this rocking chair that
- 34:32just goes back and forth on its own and it's
- 34:35so atmospheric and it's followed up by this blood
- 34:38curdling scream. It's terrifying. I mean, as
- 34:42soon as I read your email about a rocking chair
- 34:44rocking with its own, I thought, oh my god, oh
- 34:47my god, oh my god, it's the woman in black. It's
- 34:50so funny too because that sounds very, you know,
- 34:54traumatizing, that story, the terror inserted.
- 34:56Yeah. However, today... I'm like, please rock
- 34:59all of my chairs, flip them upside down, do whatever
- 35:01you can. I'm here for it. Let's do it. I love
- 35:05it. I thoroughly recommend the film, the book,
- 35:09the play. They're all brilliant. But yeah, let's
- 35:13move on from rocking chairs. I remember in one
- 35:17of your stories, you were saying about smelling
- 35:19something. And I wonder, at the time, did you
- 35:23feel or smell were these things physical? Or
- 35:27were you interpreting them through how you're
- 35:29feeling? Like, now you and I might say as you're
- 35:33Claire's. How did you feel that? What was that
- 35:35like? So, I would say everything up to this point,
- 35:40there was a lot of physical activity always happening.
- 35:42Things, obviously, rocking chair is rocking.
- 35:45But everything was primarily feeling. I just
- 35:47felt and kind of knew. So what is that? Clairvoyance,
- 35:50I believe? No, Claire cognizant. Cognizant. Yeah.
- 35:55Claire sent it? No, Claire Cobbenson is knowing,
- 35:58yeah. You know, I'm going to trust you. I don't
- 36:00know any of them. I don't know why I just pretended
- 36:02like I did. That information comes in and it
- 36:04goes straight out. Anywho, I can't retain that.
- 36:10So, when I was in my 20s... It started to become
- 36:15more than just feeling. The smelling started
- 36:18to happen. One particular night, I'm at a birthday
- 36:21party of, or not a birthday party, I'm sorry,
- 36:24excuse me, just a winter party at my brother's
- 36:26house. And this night, I was going all around.
- 36:31I was very pregnant, so my nose was very active.
- 36:35Like, I can smell things, right? And I could
- 36:40smell my dad everywhere. throughout this entire
- 36:43home. It didn't matter who I was talking to.
- 36:46I could smell him and it just kept, I would leave
- 36:48a room, I'd go somewhere else and I could smell
- 36:50him. And the smell was accompanied with a feeling,
- 36:53but I couldn't understand this feeling. needed
- 36:58to understand it and I just remember going everywhere
- 37:01saying like why do I smell dad you smell like
- 37:03dad you smell like my dad you know which is a
- 37:06smell of whiskey and tobacco but everyone also
- 37:09has that unique smell to them you know this the
- 37:13smell that is you and it's mixed in with that
- 37:18and I could never find where this smell was coming
- 37:22from that night nowhere I looked everywhere And
- 37:26the next day I go home and I received a phone
- 37:31call from my brother, letting me know that my
- 37:34father passed. And gosh, you know, I'm gonna
- 37:39cry again, but looking back at that, I know that
- 37:48it was his soul. Letting me know he was about
- 37:52to depart and transition from this physical world.
- 37:56I I knew that feeling I now know the feeling
- 38:01that accompanies when I smell someone I know
- 38:03that feeling now because it happened again That
- 38:07accompanies when someone's going to pass and
- 38:09it happened which I love. It brings me so much
- 38:16comfort and peace. Me and my father weren't talking
- 38:18at the time, so it's extra special and it's extra
- 38:21beautiful that he showed up before he passed
- 38:26in such a bold way that his spirit did his soul
- 38:29and gave me that smell and that feeling so I
- 38:33could experience that. You know, you're right.
- 38:36It really is such a beautiful thing. I had a
- 38:39similar thing when my mum died. I knew to the
- 38:42minute when she died, I was driving to the accident
- 38:44and I knew I probably wasn't going to make it.
- 38:48But I thought, don't say anything, just look
- 38:51at the time and the clock on the car, because
- 38:54I know that means something. I knew that that
- 38:56time was important and I could just feel her,
- 38:59I knew that she had gone. About 10 minutes later
- 39:01my sister called me to tell me that she had gone.
- 39:04And I knew she had gone and we got to the accident
- 39:09and the paramedics were there and the doctor
- 39:11was there and the doctor said, do you have anything
- 39:13to ask? And I said, what time does she die? And
- 39:17I remember looking at the clock and it being
- 39:1812 .01 when she passed, when I felt her and the
- 39:21doctor said she was declared at 12 .02. And I
- 39:25just knew it, I just knew it. And there's something
- 39:27about that transition from body to spirit where
- 39:31I hear people talk about When people die, they
- 39:34need six months to go to a spirit hospital. And
- 39:36I'm just like, no, it just does not sit right
- 39:39with me. Or at least it's not my experience.
- 39:42Absolutely not. I think that's other people projecting
- 39:44their beliefs onto me and my experience. And
- 39:47that just doesn't sit right with me. No, yeah.
- 39:50Which is all we can really speak from is our
- 39:52experience, right? So I wonder what their experience
- 39:56is to say something so bold like that. And it's
- 39:59always that boldness. It's that definitive, this
- 40:02is how it is. I'll always try and caveat. If
- 40:05I don't know something, I was in the reading
- 40:07this night and I said to them, I feel like this
- 40:10is what I'm getting. I feel like this is what
- 40:12they're trying to say to me. But I mean, I don't
- 40:13know. I'm not there. I have no idea how it works
- 40:16on that side. But I do feel it's really important
- 40:18to caveat that because we just don't know. I'm
- 40:21sorry. I know we're getting away from your experience.
- 40:23I'm really sorry. But I guess my point is that
- 40:26you've had these experiences around people's
- 40:28deaths and they're so poignant, but they're so
- 40:30beautiful as well. Has that helped you with your
- 40:33abilities? Do you think that's deepened your
- 40:35abilities? Absolutely. Well, first, I must touch
- 40:40on thank you for sharing about your experience
- 40:42with your mom. I could just feel the love surrounding
- 40:46me in that moment. So just thank you for sharing
- 40:50that. And what a beautiful thing that you were,
- 40:54that you felt that. I just... as tragic as that
- 40:59is and how much I wish that wasn't your experience,
- 41:01I just want to acknowledge it. I can't move on
- 41:03without acknowledging that. Oh, bless you. Well,
- 41:05thank you. It's what started this whole journey
- 41:09from that moment onwards. Yeah, absolutely. That's
- 41:14also my mother passing was also that. I forgot
- 41:18your question. Will you please repeat it? I'm
- 41:21so sorry. Yes, absolutely. You were saying that
- 41:25it seemed to me the most profound experiences
- 41:27you have tend to be around the death of people,
- 41:31so your father, your grandfather. And I just
- 41:33wondered if that had helped, maybe the wrong
- 41:36word, but deepened your abilities that you have.
- 41:40Yes, it has. I find that my biggest experiences,
- 41:45like the loudest experiences that I have, are
- 41:49always surrounding someone who I love. deeply
- 41:53their passing, which then just shows me what
- 41:57is possible, not only for myself, but what's
- 42:01possible for others, and also what's possible
- 42:04for me to open up to for others, for Spirit to
- 42:09work through me for others, right? And it's feeling
- 42:13that deep love, that... With my father's passing
- 42:18with smelling that with my grandfather's passing
- 42:20and feeling and knowing It comes with just this
- 42:26deepest feeling of love that I just cannot describe
- 42:30It is the true sense of unconditional love in
- 42:33those moments. I also another example that I
- 42:36have of someone passing My husband's grandfather
- 42:41was very ill and we knew he was passing. We didn't
- 42:44know when. We visited him and he couldn't get
- 42:48out of his bed and my daughter really wanted
- 42:53him to get up and play with him and it was very
- 42:55important to her. And I was like, no, no, no,
- 42:58we can't, like he can't talk. He truly was at
- 43:02the end and I didn't want her to hurt him. And
- 43:07so we go home and I have a dream that felt more
- 43:10than a dream. And in this dream, he came to me.
- 43:15We were right back where we were, and he was
- 43:18getting out of the bed. And I'm like, oh, what
- 43:20are you doing? Please lay back down. And my daughter's
- 43:24playing with him, crawling in his lap, and they're
- 43:25reading together. And I'm like, no, no, no, no,
- 43:27no. And he's like, Natalie, please let me. I
- 43:31feel okay now. I'm okay now. Let me. I'm good."
- 43:36I'm like, no, no, no, she's going to hurt you.
- 43:37And he's like, you're not listening. I'm good
- 43:39now. Let me be with my granddaughter. Let me
- 43:42play with her. Let me have this moment with her.
- 43:46And then I woke up from this dream. Ooh, I have
- 43:49the chills from head to toe. I don't know if
- 43:51you can feel those chills. I have chills from
- 43:52head to toe. I always get chills when you're
- 43:55talking that because you're always so engaging.
- 43:57I just love it. I absolutely love it. Spirit
- 43:59just shows up like so boldly with love that it
- 44:02just gives me the chills. Yeah. So I wake up
- 44:06and in the door frame of my bedroom is standing
- 44:12my husband's grandfather. I can see him clearly
- 44:16standing there. I wasn't afraid. I knew he was
- 44:22there. And I could, ooh, I could feel him saying
- 44:26goodbye. He just gave me a look and my husband
- 44:30was sleeping. I just felt so safe and I felt
- 44:36so much love. And I just saw him. I literally
- 44:39saw him. If I got up, I would have been able
- 44:41to touch him. That's how physically strong he
- 44:44was standing there. And I just went back to sleep.
- 44:48I just closed my eyes and went to sleep because
- 44:50it just felt so, that's what I needed to do.
- 44:53I didn't need to wake up my husband and give
- 44:56him the news. I didn't need to get up. That was
- 44:58what was supposed to happen in that moment. You
- 45:00know, and then we woke up. to his mom calling,
- 45:03telling us the time that he died, which was the
- 45:06time I woke up. I forget what time it was, but
- 45:08I remember, I remember looking at the clock and
- 45:11it was the same time. So, which is just another
- 45:13example in way that spirit showed up so boldly
- 45:18with and through love that I saw them now physically,
- 45:23which was just so beautiful. And then so every
- 45:28experience just deepened this understanding and
- 45:31has just been the slow unfoldment to what I consider
- 45:36the truth of spirit just continues to unfold
- 45:40and I know it will continue to unfold. I'm never
- 45:43going to stop experiencing new things with spirit
- 45:47and what they're capable of. My entire life I
- 45:50look forward to the continued unfoldment of what's
- 45:53possible. And that story just kind of continued
- 45:58to unfold and to bring this back to the smelling.
- 46:04In 2021, my mother passed. And before she passed,
- 46:09let's go backwards in time because that's what
- 46:11I like to do is start, you know, just I never
- 46:14tell stories fluidly, I apologize. When I was
- 46:18a child, since the moment I could speak. without
- 46:22knowing what I was doing. I would never do this
- 46:24now. This is not something that's okay. I do
- 46:26not condone this. Anyone that's listening, do
- 46:28not do this. However, me not knowing any better,
- 46:32since the moment I could speak, I have been telling
- 46:34my mom how she was going to die. And I told her,
- 46:37not knowing I was doing, I didn't know this was
- 46:40something bad. I didn't know, I just knew. I
- 46:44told her, I said, Mom, you're gonna die of lung
- 46:47cancer. Your lungs are going to fail you and
- 46:51I just would tell her over and over and over
- 46:53again and then You know eventually it got to
- 46:57a point where I can't tell her like I understood
- 47:00why this was a terrible thing to be saying to
- 47:02someone and again do not tell people even if
- 47:05you think you know it's not something you want
- 47:07to live with. But at that time you don't have
- 47:09the language for what you are feeling at that
- 47:13time you were just this innocent child who just
- 47:16says what they feel. Yes, so innocently. I remember
- 47:19as a child and worried. I was, I had this worry
- 47:22and this fear because I knew and my mother was
- 47:25also a smoker. She started smoking immensely
- 47:28and I was like, please stop. Like I, it tore
- 47:32me up and I just knew my whole life. And so I
- 47:35was so encouraging of her to stop smoking because
- 47:37I didn't know if it was the smoking that was
- 47:39going to do it. I just remember being Before
- 47:43I understood smoking caused lung cancer, before
- 47:47I understood anything, I just knew and felt I
- 47:49knew how my mom was gonna die. I knew she was
- 47:51going to die and I knew how. And I had to tell
- 47:53her because it made me so sad. Don't do that.
- 47:58Again, do not do that. Adults that are listening.
- 48:03But fast forward to the year 2021, six months
- 48:07before my mom passes, before we know anything,
- 48:11I smell her. and I have this feeling. This is
- 48:15gonna make me cry. And I don't wanna tell her.
- 48:19I don't wanna tell her because at this point
- 48:21she knows, we know things are always happening
- 48:23around me. They've amped up physical stuff. Pianos
- 48:26are playing in my house. Like, you know, you
- 48:28name it, it's happening. Things being flipped
- 48:30over, like stuff is always happening. And I told
- 48:35my husband. and it tore me up for like a week
- 48:38I was like I can't stop smelling her and I can't
- 48:41stop feeling this and he was like okay and he
- 48:46encouraged me to talk to her about it and I was
- 48:48like so I did and I said mom I I'm really worried
- 48:52and I don't want you to be worried but I I needed
- 48:56my mom's love in that moment as a child like
- 48:59little girl meat came out sorry So I told her,
- 49:04I said, Mom, I'm smelling you. And it's along
- 49:08with that same feeling that I felt with Dad.
- 49:11And I'm just really worried about you. Can you
- 49:13go to the doctor? And so then stuff started happening
- 49:16and they found a spot on her tongue. She started
- 49:19going to the doctor and it just really unfolded
- 49:21really quickly and it ended up being her lungs
- 49:24that took her. That really was such a moment.
- 49:30When she passed, I was in the room with her,
- 49:34and I remember I was with her when she passed,
- 49:38staring into her eyes. She was staring into my
- 49:40eyes and she couldn't breathe. And I was just
- 49:43staring into her eyes, telling her I was the
- 49:46last thing she saw. Whether or not that she wanted
- 49:48that to be the case, it was. She was staring
- 49:50at me. And I just kept telling her that it was
- 49:54OK. It was OK, and everything was going to be
- 49:57OK. she stared at me as she took her last breath
- 50:02and she passed. And something that was so beautiful
- 50:08in that moment is I could feel the power of her
- 50:12love and I felt her still in the room. It just
- 50:17so happened to be my birthday. She held on for
- 50:21my birthday. At midnight she pointed to the clock
- 50:24and I was just like, why is she pointing? What
- 50:27is she doing? And then my husband was like, oh
- 50:31my goodness, Nat, it's your birthday. And then
- 50:34my mom, just a few minutes later, let go and
- 50:37passed. And that was really a beautiful gift
- 50:38she gave me as well. But in that moment, in that
- 50:42time, I crawled into her lap. My husband's in
- 50:45the room. And what's so cool about this is my
- 50:49husband, who is not interested in mediumship.
- 50:53He's interested in love, spirit, all of that.
- 50:57But he's not interested in having communications
- 51:00himself necessarily. The moment I crawled out
- 51:03of my mom's lap right before I did, he said,
- 51:07I just felt her leave. And I said, I did too.
- 51:12And I knew it was time to go because I just,
- 51:14there was just a moment where she was like, filled
- 51:18that room with so much love. And even though
- 51:21her physical body was gone for quite some time,
- 51:23there was just this moment when we knew, oh,
- 51:26She filled us with all of the love, and it's
- 51:28okay to leave now. I mean, our loved ones are
- 51:31always around us, so for her to have left, well,
- 51:34that's not accurate. However, that moment of
- 51:37needing her to fill the space so boldly and impact
- 51:41like so densely, that moment no longer needed
- 51:45to be there, and she lessened it, and we knew
- 51:47we could leave. Yeah. So all of that, I feel
- 51:52like I just really rambled and went on a side
- 51:54path there, and I apologize, but it all just
- 51:57unfolds and continues to get bigger, and Spirit
- 52:01continues to work through me and shine through
- 52:05my life in a way where others can experience
- 52:08the love. Because I have shown, my husband, I
- 52:13have shown, and he now experiences this beautiful
- 52:16love in those moments. And I just, there's something
- 52:21about others experiencing this and having their
- 52:24hearts and minds open to it because anyone can
- 52:28feel these things. Anyone can experience these
- 52:30things. I just like to share them to let people
- 52:34know that they're not alone ever. And it's such
- 52:39a beautiful, wonderful thing. As sad as it can
- 52:42be at times, there's so much beauty and so much
- 52:44love that I feel honored. to experience every
- 52:49moment that I do. Thank you so much for sharing
- 52:53that Nat. I'm not even gonna try to analyze it
- 52:56or say anything more because what you said there
- 52:58was absolutely beautiful and perfect. I have
- 53:02one more question though. One more question before
- 53:05we bring this beautiful recording session to
- 53:07a close. You are a mom of two children. You have
- 53:11a life, you have a family and everything that
- 53:14goes with that, I'm sure. How have you come to
- 53:18live with and understand your abilities? I think
- 53:22you sort of answered this question already, but
- 53:24I'm confident for you, we get it. For you, this
- 53:28has been completely normal from day one. This
- 53:30has been almost your cornerstone. This is the
- 53:32essence of Nat. But how about as a parent? As
- 53:37a parent, how do you use your abilities or bring
- 53:40it in to help you with your parenting? Yeah,
- 53:45it's... One of the coolest things to bring into
- 53:49my parenting and then see Grow through my children
- 53:53both of my children have had experiences with
- 53:56spirit as well I mean, of course they will everyone
- 54:00does in my home you come into my home as a stranger
- 54:02you leave a friend, you know you a curious friend
- 54:06because spiritual stuff always happens all the
- 54:10time, but with my children, both of them have
- 54:13had experiences, and what I have loved is that
- 54:17because I was raised with this fear instilled
- 54:23from my father, as things happen with my children,
- 54:27I instill curiosity, I instill play, I instill
- 54:32love and wonder and... Seeing that unfold in
- 54:38them and the experiences they have is just like,
- 54:41it fills me with this like bubbly sparkle. My
- 54:46oldest has seen spirit since I can remember and
- 54:52she moves about the world as this bright little
- 54:58loving light. Do you want to hear experiences
- 55:01that they've had or? Yeah, I mean only if you
- 55:04feel happy to share. I really don't want to feel
- 55:06like I'm rinsing your family for all your stories.
- 55:12Only if you want to. No, I don't want to take
- 55:15all your time is what I'm thinking. No, not at
- 55:17all. You carry on please, carry on. Great and
- 55:20you can just cut whatever you know So my oldest
- 55:28My husband and I started a business when she
- 55:31was like three years old we were launching this
- 55:33business and there are hundreds of people at
- 55:36this event with these vaulted ceilings and this
- 55:41is shortly after my husband's grandfather passed
- 55:45so my daughter, we see her, we're mingling with
- 55:49everyone, and we see her standing on the top
- 55:51of these stairs in this very big open room, just
- 55:54staring up at the rafters, waving. And so my
- 55:59husband and I walk up to her and sit down and
- 56:01we're like, hey, you know, what are you waving
- 56:03to and talking? Like, what's going on? And she's
- 56:06like, grandpa, grandpa's here. And my husband's
- 56:10like, just cracked, you know, he's like. Trying
- 56:13to hold back his tears because it's such a proud
- 56:15moment for him You know his grandfather was so
- 56:18proud of him that he showed up and he was just
- 56:21There and needed his presence to be known and
- 56:24with my daughter being so open He was speaking
- 56:27through her to him and my husband knew without
- 56:29asking without needing to say anything else We
- 56:32know why grandpa is showing up and why our oldest
- 56:35could see him and why he was saying hi to her
- 56:38And she's had experiences like that her whole
- 56:42life. And what's really, really cool about her
- 56:46is she sees a lot. She never met my father. I
- 56:50was pregnant with my oldest when he passed and
- 56:56she sees him all the time. along with my husband's
- 57:01grandfather. She says that they're always outside.
- 57:04She'll look out her window and she'll see them
- 57:06in our yard. And it just brings her all this
- 57:08comfort. And I just think that's such a beautiful
- 57:10thing. So one thing that I have had to work with
- 57:15her because she's now a pre -teen and still has
- 57:18experiences. Often now they happen at nighttime
- 57:22and she... A cat will come and lay with her often.
- 57:27She'll feel a cat lay in her bed, think it's
- 57:29ours, and realize, oh no, my door is closed.
- 57:31And she'll go to pet the cat, and there's no
- 57:33cat there, but she can feel it needing and feel
- 57:35it in the bed with her. And also loved ones will
- 57:38visit her. They'll come up to her while she's
- 57:41sleeping and wake her up, and they'll touch her.
- 57:44And she doesn't like that. For her, she has asked,
- 57:48she's like, Mom, I know that it... who it is,
- 57:52and I know it's fine and good, but when I sleep
- 57:56and I don't expect it, it just kind of scares
- 57:58me. And so I've taught her how to have boundaries.
- 58:02I'm like, listen, no one wants to scare you.
- 58:05There's nothing scary, but if this is startling,
- 58:08which then scares you, let's set some parameters.
- 58:11Let's set some boundaries. So I've taught her
- 58:14and they listen to her. She has asked them. Just
- 58:20in her room, out loud, hey. This makes me scared.
- 58:24I don't like you waking me up. Can you please
- 58:27not do that anymore? Keep showing up, just not
- 58:30that way. And so they've stopped showing up to
- 58:32her in that way, which is, I think, just such
- 58:34a beautiful thing. Amazing. What a wonderful
- 58:38guy your husband sounds. I just want to give
- 58:41him a massive big hug, which is absolutely fantastic.
- 58:44And your parenting, too. I just love it. If more
- 58:47people could raise their kid to be this loving
- 58:50ball of light. I love that. For you and your
- 58:53family, I just think, I love it. I think that's
- 58:55really beautiful. Before we start this recording
- 59:00that you share with me some videos and I put
- 59:02them together in the form of a reel and you give
- 59:05me your permission to share these on my Instagram.
- 59:07So listeners, listen up. If you're interested
- 59:09in seeing these videos that Nat has captured
- 59:13of stuff going on in her house, intelligent responses
- 59:18to phenomena, do go onto my Instagram and have
- 59:24a look for those reels. Very quickly, Nat, would
- 59:28you mind just explaining to the listeners what
- 59:30these videos are and how did they come about?
- 59:34As a developing medium myself, I love to play.
- 59:39Like, play is what I'm all about. Let's just
- 59:42see what can happen. Eileen Davies, I have heard,
- 59:47says, don't limit the limitless. And I... I don't
- 59:51want to limit anything. Let's just play. So first,
- 59:55our electricity has been rewired and redone.
- 59:59There's no issues with our electricity in our
- 1:00:02in our old home. There is a certain lamp in my
- 1:00:06living room that's brand new. Fine. We plug it
- 1:00:08in like doesn't matter. Like it will flicker
- 1:00:11when I feel a shift in the room, when I feel
- 1:00:14communication needs to be had. They will speak
- 1:00:18through this light in my living room. However,
- 1:00:22what you will be sharing is not my living room
- 1:00:24light. It's completely different. It is my bathroom
- 1:00:28light. And so my loved ones like to communicate
- 1:00:31through light. Typically it's this lamp. However,
- 1:00:34this time it's my bathroom. I'm sitting in the
- 1:00:36living room and they never have done this until
- 1:00:39this moment of the video that you have. I'm sitting
- 1:00:43in my living room with my husband and all of
- 1:00:46a sudden it's like a strobe light just on off,
- 1:00:48on off, on off. And my husband's like, Natalie,
- 1:00:53who's here now? You know, this is new. I don't
- 1:00:58know. I'm going to go find out. So I go into
- 1:01:02the bathroom and I they start replying I like
- 1:01:06to establish communication where let's make sure
- 1:01:09this isn't a Faulty flickering light, you know,
- 1:01:14let's turn it on for a yes and turn it off for
- 1:01:16a no If I ask you to turn it on will you turn
- 1:01:19it on if I ask you to turn it off? Can you turn
- 1:01:22it off and let's start to develop a baseline
- 1:01:25to make sure that this isn't something mundane.
- 1:01:29So I establish that in the bathroom and then
- 1:01:32I just ask questions. And as I ask the questions,
- 1:01:36it's so cool because I can feel them in the room
- 1:01:40with me. I feel the shift. I feel them. And I
- 1:01:43have this knowing too, right, that comes in.
- 1:01:48It's like I know when the lights gonna turn off
- 1:01:52and I know what the reply is going to be and
- 1:01:55they're communicating through this light blinking
- 1:01:58on and off and It just validates the experience
- 1:02:03that I'm having through my body. So I just think
- 1:02:05it's so cool We don't need a light. We don't
- 1:02:08need spirit lights, balls, REM pods, we don't
- 1:02:12need that, but I think it's really cool to give
- 1:02:16another opportunity for Spirit to speak to us
- 1:02:19and also validate what we're feeling. Yeah, so
- 1:02:24my mom showed up in the bathroom with me and
- 1:02:26that was so cool and like the light will start
- 1:02:29to flicker in a way and I can feel it's her laughter,
- 1:02:33I feel it's her excitement, like I feel it. It
- 1:02:35turns on and off and it sounds like a thank you
- 1:02:38from her and so I say you're welcome back because
- 1:02:41I just know that was thank you. I just, it was
- 1:02:45such a cool experience. I'm looking forward to
- 1:02:47sharing these with listeners. I really can't
- 1:02:49wait to put them out there. So any listener who's
- 1:02:52curious, not only to see what Nat's bathroom
- 1:02:55looks like... Oh, it's dusty. It's dusty. It's
- 1:02:59terrible. You and mine both. You and mine both.
- 1:03:02No, but people are going to love this. Honestly,
- 1:03:05people... I know people are going to love this
- 1:03:07because when I have my Paranormal Investigation
- 1:03:09episode come out in October, last October, people
- 1:03:13loved it. So if you're into that, then do...
- 1:03:15go over to my Instagram onto Reels and check
- 1:03:18out the video that Nat has sent me, or the videos
- 1:03:20that Nat has sent me. Nat, thank you so much
- 1:03:23for today. It's been absolutely gorgeous. And
- 1:03:25for lack of better words, gorgeous, wonderful.
- 1:03:28It's just fantastic. Thank you so much. Where
- 1:03:31can the listeners find you? You said you're a
- 1:03:33developing medium. Are your books open for readings?
- 1:03:36Yes, I would just love the opportunity to meet
- 1:03:41with anyone who wants to help me continue my
- 1:03:44development. I love giving Spirit the opportunity
- 1:03:48to connect with you, the listener. So yes, I
- 1:03:54have a website. My website is Needonet with a
- 1:03:57G, like the bug. Brilliant. I will put all of
- 1:04:09that information into the show notes. So if you're
- 1:04:12listening and you didn't quite catch that, go
- 1:04:14into the show notes of whatever podcast provider
- 1:04:16you are listening to this on and it will all
- 1:04:19be there for you. All that is left for me to
- 1:04:21say is, Nat, thank you so much. This has been
- 1:04:24really, really beautiful. Thank you so, so much.
- 1:04:27Oh my goodness. Thank you, Matt. I so appreciate
- 1:04:30you giving spirit the light and allowing me to
- 1:04:34be one of the voices. Just thank you. I appreciate
- 1:04:37you. It has been my absolute pleasure. Thank
- 1:04:40you. The marvellous Nat Lockett, and I implore
- 1:04:48you, if anyone is interested in having a reading
- 1:04:50with Nat, you can find her out all the channels
- 1:04:52that she mentioned at the end of her interview
- 1:04:54there. If you didn't quite catch all, they are

- 1:04:59you are listening to this on, have a look at
- 1:05:01the notes on this episode and you will find Nat's
- 1:05:04details there. Again, you'll also find on my

- 1:05:12.explorer, you will see the videos that Nat has
- 1:05:15sent me of her communicating with the lights
- 1:05:17and the REM pod. You will also see an additional
- 1:05:20bonus video of a conversation that Nat and I
- 1:05:23had separately about an experience that her husband
- 1:05:25had. So please make sure that you go online and
- 1:05:28you check that out. Just one more thing before
- 1:05:31I love you and leave you lovely people. This
- 1:05:33episode is focused quite heavily on grief so
- 1:05:36I just wanted to give some support details in
- 1:05:38case you are in that place where you need support
- 1:05:42or help. If you're in the UK, you can go to cruze

- 1:06:06have changed due to the current administration
- 1:06:08maybe. got rid of. But if you are struggling,
