- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person, I guess Michelle probably, And it's
- 0:05Speaker 1: snowing outside, well technically it's it's sleeping outside. We're having
- 0:11Speaker 1: a blizzard. Yay. It's been so long since we got
- 0:16Speaker 1: like a lot of snow, so I am super excited.
- 0:19Speaker 1: But it's looking like it's probably gonna transition into ice
- 0:23Speaker 1: in a little while, so I'm kind of scared my
- 0:26Speaker 1: power is gonna go out, which is why I'm recording
- 0:28Speaker 1: this now and not waiting until like tomorrow or some
- 0:31Speaker 1: other time to do it, because who knows of all
- 0:33Speaker 1: have power ever? Again, this could be it. This could
- 0:36Speaker 1: be the last day my house is ever warm. I mean,
- 0:40Speaker 1: like probably not, but you never know. The weather thing
- 0:44Speaker 1: says that it's only a moderate no a low risk
- 0:48Speaker 1: of power outages. But I'm scared anyway because it's very
- 0:53Speaker 1: cold out and if I lose power, then there's no
- 0:56Speaker 1: heat and that would make me very sad and cold.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So now, you know, I think we have like eight
- 1:03Speaker 1: ish inches so far of snow, and now we're just
- 1:07Speaker 1: getting sleet on top, so like little ice rocks. So
- 1:10Speaker 1: that's kind of okay. I guess, I don't know. It's
- 1:13Speaker 1: not as pretty coming down, but if you're hearing like
- 1:15Speaker 1: weird crinkly noises in the background, it's like ice or
- 1:21Speaker 1: sleeps hitting into my air condition unit or my windows.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So now you know. And when you're hearing this, obviously
- 1:28Speaker 1: the storm will have been over and hopefully if you
- 1:31Speaker 1: lost power, you'll have it back by then. I don't
- 1:34Speaker 1: know where you are, but I do know that this
- 1:36Speaker 1: storm hit like three quarters of the US, So if
- 1:40Speaker 1: you're in the US and you're not on the West coast,
- 1:43Speaker 1: you probably got this storm. So yay. We're all in
- 1:48Speaker 1: it together, or we were when it happened, because it's
- 1:51Speaker 1: over now, so we can be all individual again and
- 1:54Speaker 1: not in things together. I don't know, but that's what's
- 1:57Speaker 1: going on. I feel like it's been a really long
- 1:59Speaker 1: time since I recorded the first episode, given it actually
- 2:03Speaker 1: has been because I recorded it kind of early. But yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 1: I don't know. Everything I'm watching anime wise, this season
- 2:09Speaker 1: has just been like really really good. Still. Everything's maybe
- 2:13Speaker 1: like three episodes in, like I'm still watching. I think
- 2:16Speaker 1: it's Shibo Yugi. Is that what it's called, The one
- 2:19Speaker 1: about that girl who just plays death games. That's still
- 2:22Speaker 1: been like really good. The show that's like sentenced to
- 2:27Speaker 1: be a hero. I didn't really think I liked the
- 2:30Speaker 1: first episode until like the last ten minutes, and then
- 2:33Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, I could do this, and then
- 2:35Speaker 1: I liked the episodes afterwards. So yeah, I'm still liking that.
- 2:39Speaker 1: The latest episode of jiu Jitsu Kaizen, at least when
- 2:42Speaker 1: I'm recording this, was like awesome, like just beautiful, much
- 2:47Speaker 1: better than the episode before, which was just all about
- 2:50Speaker 1: the fucking culling game, which literally was just text on
- 2:54Speaker 1: the screen the whole time. It pissed me the hell off.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So that's what's going on. I still have watched Oshinoko,
- 3:01Speaker 1: but I'm up to date with everything else I wanted
- 3:03Speaker 1: to watch. So I don't know why you care, but
- 3:06Speaker 1: if you do, now you know. And if you don't,
- 3:09Speaker 1: you know anyway. Sorry. So let's get into Given episode two,
- 3:14Speaker 1: because I feel like there's gonna be a lot of
- 3:16Speaker 1: stuff I want to talk about in this and I
- 3:18Speaker 1: didn't think that going in, So yeah, let's see what happens.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So episode two of Given is called like Someone in
- 3:29Speaker 1: Love aw and I guess that is the title of
- 3:34Speaker 1: a song. It's like an old jazz standard that's originally
- 3:39Speaker 1: by musically by Jimmy van Housen and with lyrics by
- 3:45Speaker 1: Johnny Burke, and I believe it was made famous by
- 3:48Speaker 1: Bing Crosby. Now I don't know if that really fits
- 3:52Speaker 1: our kind of alternative English rock band thing that we're
- 3:56Speaker 1: supposed to have going on, but a lot of people
- 3:59Speaker 1: have covered this song, so maybe there's a cover that fits.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I really don't know. I tried to look into it
- 4:06Speaker 1: and I really just didn't find anything that worked for
- 4:09Speaker 1: me and made sense. So yeah, if you know and
- 4:14Speaker 1: you're like, oh, Michelle, it's by this band, it's not
- 4:17Speaker 1: even that like someone in love song that you think
- 4:20Speaker 1: it is, because yeah, you should like write to me
- 4:23Speaker 1: and tell me so that I know this, because I
- 4:26Speaker 1: don't know. I tried, I really did, and uh yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 1: So if you remember from the end of the last episode, Mafu,
- 4:35Speaker 1: you had just told Uaynoyama that he thinks he's cool
- 4:39Speaker 1: and it was a big deal, and he asked again
- 4:41Speaker 1: if Wuaynoyama would teach him guitar. So that's not exactly
- 4:46Speaker 1: where we start, but close, I guess. So the episode
- 4:51Speaker 1: starts with us panning down like from the top of
- 4:55Speaker 1: the very large windows in the stairwell. I don't think
- 4:58Speaker 1: I told you in the last episode, but the stairwell
- 5:00Speaker 1: has like giant fucking windows, especially at the landing area,
- 5:05Speaker 1: Like the whole wall is just windows, which is very nice,
- 5:08Speaker 1: and outside we can see that the sky is blue
- 5:11Speaker 1: and it's partly cloudy. I think we see this guy
- 5:14Speaker 1: a couple more times in this episode, and it's always
- 5:16Speaker 1: just blue and partly cloudy. I mean, unless it's at night.
- 5:19Speaker 1: So apparently this area just is nice all the time.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I don't know. After we pan down, we see Mafuyu
- 5:26Speaker 1: sitting alone on the landing hugging his knees, and then
- 5:30Speaker 1: I realized that he was sleeping, kind of leaning his
- 5:33Speaker 1: head on his guitar case. We hear someone walking up
- 5:36Speaker 1: and rustling like they sit down, and maybe they took
- 5:40Speaker 1: off a bag or a guitar case. I was pretty
- 5:42Speaker 1: sure it was a guitar case. Mafuu opens his eyes
- 5:46Speaker 1: and he sees ou we know Yama sitting next to
- 5:49Speaker 1: him with a guitar case. Yay. Mafuyu's like, ou we
- 5:53Speaker 1: know Yama kun ou weo Yama says hey. Mafuu notices
- 5:58Speaker 1: that Uei has brought his guitar with him and it's like,
- 6:01Speaker 1: are you gonna teach me guitar? Oh oio Yama says,
- 6:07Speaker 1: don't expect serious lessons or anything. He is kind of
- 6:10Speaker 1: mostly out a frame, but we hear him like unzipping
- 6:13Speaker 1: his guitar case and he continues, but if I don't,
- 6:17Speaker 1: you're never gonna drop it. So mafo You kind of
- 6:20Speaker 1: exhales happily and he's like, oh, I know, Yama. Kun
- 6:23Speaker 1: oio Yama looks up from whatever he's doing with his
- 6:26Speaker 1: guitar case and says, huh, mafus, like, thanks for taking
- 6:30Speaker 1: me under your wing, and he kind of like bows
- 6:32Speaker 1: a little bit, and then we go to the opening theme.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yay I guess anyway back from the opening, we see
- 6:40Speaker 1: them again, sitting on the landing. We're kind of slightly
- 6:43Speaker 1: above them and like looking through the wall of windows
- 6:47Speaker 1: at them, and uaiino Yama is tuning his guitar and
- 6:52Speaker 1: I can see the actual you know logo slash you
- 6:56Speaker 1: know name on the head of the guitar and it
- 6:58Speaker 1: says telecaster. So I was right, it is a telecaster.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Yay A. Mafu You is watching super intently as he tunes.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Ou Wei know Yama's kind of getting a little bit
- 7:09Speaker 1: freaked out about this, and he's starting to sweat, and
- 7:12Speaker 1: they actually have him. I mean you hear him tune
- 7:16Speaker 1: all the way to the B string. So he's like, yeah,
- 7:24Speaker 1: like that sort of At that though, he stops in
- 7:26Speaker 1: size and he's like, what a mafu. You says, it's different?
- 7:31Speaker 1: O we know. Yama's like what. He looks at Mafuu's
- 7:34Speaker 1: guitar and is like, what is it. Mafuu points to
- 7:38Speaker 1: Uo Yama's guitar and he's like, mine is different than yours.
- 7:42Speaker 1: He knows how to tell things apart guys. Yay Ouio
- 7:46Speaker 1: Yama says, uh, do you mean the color the model?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Mafus like the model we're just kind of seeing like
- 7:55Speaker 1: the very tops of their heads now. I guess probably
- 7:58Speaker 1: to save animation money. There's a lot of that in
- 8:01Speaker 1: this show and in this episode where we're like just
- 8:03Speaker 1: seeing far away from the people or like not their
- 8:07Speaker 1: faces when they're talking, so we don't have to animate them.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It's like not super noticeable unless you're me and you're
- 8:13Speaker 1: just watching it for that, so that's it's fine whatever. Anyway,
- 8:18Speaker 1: Leno Yama says, ah, mine's a fender telecaster. You have
- 8:23Speaker 1: a Gibson hollowbody, right, Mafuyu's like Gibson hollowbody. Okay, let's
- 8:29Speaker 1: pause there, because that means I can actually tell you
- 8:33Speaker 1: what kind of guitar Mafuu has. So I looked it
- 8:37Speaker 1: up to make sure I had the model number right.
- 8:39Speaker 1: And then also I started reading the manga and I
- 8:41Speaker 1: found like a page, you know, where it talks about
- 8:45Speaker 1: Mafuu and his guitar and stuff. So, Mafu, you has
- 8:48Speaker 1: a Gibson ES three thirty. I knew he had a
- 8:51Speaker 1: Gibson ES something because they all kind of look like that.
- 8:55Speaker 1: But yeah, ES three thirty. And it's probably important that
- 8:59Speaker 1: I tell you that these are really expensive guitars. You
- 9:03Speaker 1: can get a similar looking guitar that's made by like Epiphone,
- 9:07Speaker 1: which is kind of like a less expensive Gibson. Like
- 9:12Speaker 1: it's technically manufactured by Gibson, but it's like a less
- 9:17Speaker 1: good brand, you know how Sometimes that is where you
- 9:20Speaker 1: have like a really good brand and then they like
- 9:22Speaker 1: also make like lower end things. So Gibson has another
- 9:26Speaker 1: brand that's Epiphone that makes lower end guitars. So you
- 9:28Speaker 1: get one of those, and that's a little cheaper. But
- 9:31Speaker 1: all of that to say that I was looking up
- 9:34Speaker 1: to see like where es three thirties start price wise?
- 9:39Speaker 1: If you want a new one right now, the cheapest
- 9:41Speaker 1: is about thirty five hundred dollars. Yeah, it's an expensive guitar. Yeah,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on that he has that guitar.
- 9:49Speaker 1: And also like he's just carrying it around and like
- 9:54Speaker 1: probably hitting it into things when he's on the train
- 9:57Speaker 1: or whatever. Yeah, you have to be careful with this guitar.
- 10:00Speaker 1: He really should have a hard case if he's gonna
- 10:03Speaker 1: really protect his investments. So that's just what I wanted
- 10:06Speaker 1: to tell you. And yeah, I think I said in
- 10:08Speaker 1: the last episode. Hollow body guitar or semi hollow is
- 10:11Speaker 1: like a kind of in between between like a solid
- 10:14Speaker 1: electric guitar and an acoustic guitar. It's electric, but it
- 10:18Speaker 1: has a hollow middle, so you get the resonance from
- 10:21Speaker 1: the wood instead of just from the pickups, which is
- 10:24Speaker 1: what you'd get with an electric guitar, versus the resonance
- 10:26Speaker 1: that you'd get with an acoustic guitar. So it's kind
- 10:28Speaker 1: of an in between. Yeah, all right, sorry, let's continue
- 10:31Speaker 1: on anyway, Mafuyu's just said basically that he doesn't know
- 10:36Speaker 1: what gibson is or what a hollow body guitar is,
- 10:38Speaker 1: and Ouioyama's like, do you seriously have no idea what
- 10:43Speaker 1: your guitar is? Mafu Yu kind of looks at the
- 10:46Speaker 1: ground and sighs, oh no. Ayama just stares at him,
- 10:49Speaker 1: like what the fuck is this dude, and then he
- 10:52Speaker 1: like clenches his teeth and thinks he's so annoying out loud.
- 10:57Speaker 1: He says, well, whatever the model is, an important is
- 11:00Speaker 1: long as you can play it. That is mostly true. Honestly,
- 11:04Speaker 1: no one will care what kind of guitar you have
- 11:06Speaker 1: if you're good at playing it, except for like guitar
- 11:08Speaker 1: and arts. Anyway, Mafuyu is still kind of looking at
- 11:11Speaker 1: the ground like slouched, and Ueoyama continues, Uh, so you
- 11:17Speaker 1: know how to tune it now? Right? Mafyu strings up
- 11:20Speaker 1: gasps and is like yeah, he's blushing slightly, and he
- 11:24Speaker 1: strums the open strings of the guitar. Yeah, there's kind
- 11:31Speaker 1: of a long pause, and then Ueoyama's like, that's not
- 11:36Speaker 1: tuned at all. Yeah, it sounded pretty bad. I tried
- 11:39Speaker 1: to make my guitar out of tune a little bit
- 11:41Speaker 1: so that you could understand anyway. Mafuu's like huh. He
- 11:46Speaker 1: strums again and it's yeah, it's really out of tune.
- 11:51Speaker 1: He pauses and he's like why though. Hu Yama says
- 11:55Speaker 1: why and he makes like a really frustrated sign. He's like,
- 11:59Speaker 1: you tuned it where right? Mafuju says, yeah, yesterday, Oh
- 12:03Speaker 1: I know. Yama's like yesterday. You know, the smallest thing
- 12:07Speaker 1: can throw off your tune in just putting your guitar
- 12:09Speaker 1: and a case can turn the pegs or I mean
- 12:11Speaker 1: like cuddling it like Mafuuh's been doing, because it cuddles
- 12:15Speaker 1: it a lot, and that's gonna mess things up. You
- 12:18Speaker 1: need to tune it constantly. Mafu U's like, uh, what's
- 12:22Speaker 1: a peg Ooh? I know. Yama just stares at him
- 12:27Speaker 1: like the question has caused him, like physical pain. And
- 12:31Speaker 1: then we go to the two ten sign. In the hallway.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Inside the classroom, there are kids like talking to each
- 12:36Speaker 1: other and stuff like it's a free period or lunch
- 12:38Speaker 1: or who knows what it is. OI know. Yama is
- 12:40Speaker 1: at his desk looking at his phone and he's scrolling
- 12:43Speaker 1: through some Google type thing, and we see like some
- 12:47Speaker 1: of the search results, and the translated one says the
- 12:49Speaker 1: difference between people who are good at teaching guitar and
- 12:52Speaker 1: those who aren't. And this is from https dot dot
- 12:56Speaker 1: slash slash practice Guitar dot com slash. I can't see
- 13:00Speaker 1: the rest, and we get a snippet and it says,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I'd like to talk about today's theme, those who are
- 13:05Speaker 1: good at teaching guitar and those who aren't. Last time
- 13:08Speaker 1: we talked about those who aren't very good at it.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Really like somebody spend an entire block of time discussing
- 13:16Speaker 1: what makes someone not good at teaching guitar. Yeah, I
- 13:19Speaker 1: don't think this is a real article, but he's really
- 13:22Speaker 1: trying to help here anyway. He looks kind of annoyed.
- 13:25Speaker 1: In size, we see a wall clock and it is
- 13:28Speaker 1: two twenty two. We hear a voice who is definitely
- 13:31Speaker 1: the teacher say, and so the teacher is looking at
- 13:35Speaker 1: a book standing in front of the class. Since answer
- 13:37Speaker 1: to is past tens, we can rule that out. Answer
- 13:40Speaker 1: one applies to the last question, so we can rule
- 13:43Speaker 1: it out as well. Ounoyama is writing something in a
- 13:46Speaker 1: notebook and he thinks it's probably too early to teach
- 13:49Speaker 1: him chords. He's tapping his pen or mechanical pencil, I
- 13:52Speaker 1: couldn't tell on the paper, and we see that he's
- 13:55Speaker 1: been making diagrams of like both of their guitars, like
- 13:58Speaker 1: all their parts and things, which is pretty cool, he continues,
- 14:02Speaker 1: But being able to play a song would make him
- 14:04Speaker 1: feel like he could actually do it. Yes, that's what
- 14:07Speaker 1: you want. Should I start by teaching him how to
- 14:09Speaker 1: read tabs? No? Nah, thank god? He sighs and looks
- 14:15Speaker 1: out the window. What the hell was I doing when
- 14:17Speaker 1: I first started? Now we see the exterior of the
- 14:20Speaker 1: studio and we hear music, and then we see how
- 14:23Speaker 1: Douki's fingers like plucking the bass strings as like a
- 14:27Speaker 1: song ends, and he says, how's that? Oh? We know?
- 14:31Speaker 1: Y'ama's like, oh, that part you changed up a little.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I think it works. How do? He's like yay? And
- 14:38Speaker 1: he turns to Kaji, who is at the drums in
- 14:40Speaker 1: the foreground, and he's like, what did you think, Akihiko?
- 14:44Speaker 1: Kaji says, sounds good to me. Doki's like, you could
- 14:48Speaker 1: at least sound like you mean it. Kaji narrows his
- 14:51Speaker 1: eyes intensely like he's trying to focus real, real hard,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and how do He's like what and Kaji keeps making
- 15:00Speaker 1: that face and how do he is just staring at
- 15:03Speaker 1: him getting kind of freaked out. Now, then we go
- 15:05Speaker 1: back to Kaji, who was still silent making that face,
- 15:09Speaker 1: and finally he smiles and he says sounds good to me.
- 15:13Speaker 1: How do He's like, that's not any different. We now
- 15:15Speaker 1: see u weio Yama drinking from a water bottle, like,
- 15:18Speaker 1: seated on a stool, and we hear Kaji say we're
- 15:21Speaker 1: gonna go take a smoke break O. We know Yama's like, okay.
- 15:25Speaker 1: We hear the door open, and then uio Yama says, oh,
- 15:28Speaker 1: Kaji son, ha Doki son. They turn back around from
- 15:32Speaker 1: the door and say hmmm. At the same time, we
- 15:35Speaker 1: know Yama's like, uh, is it okay? If I bring
- 15:38Speaker 1: Sato next time? Kaji says Sato how dok He's like, oh,
- 15:43Speaker 1: mafu chan. Kaji says oh. We know. Yama's like, it's
- 15:48Speaker 1: probably better if he just plays as much as he
- 15:50Speaker 1: can at first instead of overthinking stuff. He rubs his
- 15:54Speaker 1: neck and I thought he'd have an easier time playing
- 15:56Speaker 1: in the studio Kaji and how do he smile? And
- 15:58Speaker 1: Kaji's like, so you decided to look after him? Huh sure?
- 16:03Speaker 1: Why not? How dok? He's like yeah, U weo. Yama's
- 16:06Speaker 1: eyes widen and he blushes slightly and he bows and
- 16:09Speaker 1: he's like, thank you. Kaji says, that said you being
- 16:13Speaker 1: so concerned with what we think isn't like you? Ue Sama?
- 16:17Speaker 1: How Doogie puts his hand over his mouth and he's
- 16:19Speaker 1: like it really isn't o we know. Yama's like, ugh,
- 16:23Speaker 1: I just thought I should at least ask. Kaji says, well,
- 16:27Speaker 1: aren't you a good boy? How do He's like he
- 16:30Speaker 1: sure is? Kaji says, just the best. Uinoyama looks up
- 16:36Speaker 1: at them and he's starting to get really annoyed, and
- 16:38Speaker 1: how do he continues He's such a good boy? Uino
- 16:42Speaker 1: Yama says, if you're not gonna take your break, we're
- 16:44Speaker 1: gonna get back to practicing. They start to like walk
- 16:47Speaker 1: off quickly, and Kaji's like, hold on, just one smoke?
- 16:50Speaker 1: How do ok? He says back in a minute, now
- 16:52Speaker 1: we see kind of like a high upshot of like
- 16:54Speaker 1: a nice looking town. The sky is blue and partly
- 16:57Speaker 1: cloudy again, like I said it might be, and we
- 17:00Speaker 1: get some still frames of like kids walking to school
- 17:05Speaker 1: and kids buy lockers and shit, and Mafou is, I
- 17:09Speaker 1: guess about to take shoes out of his locker because
- 17:13Speaker 1: it looks like he's reaching for them. We hear uya
- 17:16Speaker 1: Yama say morning. Mafuu looks behind him and U I
- 17:20Speaker 1: know Yama is standing there but like not looking at him,
- 17:22Speaker 1: and Mafou says morning O. Weio Yama finally like glances
- 17:27Speaker 1: in his direction says you free today. Mafu's like, huh
- 17:32Speaker 1: ou we know. Yama leans over kind of out of frame.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I believe he's putting on his shoes because it sounds
- 17:37Speaker 1: like that's what he's doing, and he says, you can
- 17:39Speaker 1: come by and watch our band practice if you want.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Mafoou gasps and blushes slightly, and Uyo Yama starts to
- 17:46Speaker 1: walk away, and Mafuu says, really O. We know. Yama's
- 17:51Speaker 1: like yeah, just don't get in the way. He walks
- 17:54Speaker 1: down the hall and Mafuu races to catch up with him.
- 17:57Speaker 1: So now Mafuu is just kind of talking slightly behind
- 18:00Speaker 1: Ouayno Yama like looking really happy and blushing. Ouin Oyama
- 18:06Speaker 1: looks at him and then away again and kind of
- 18:08Speaker 1: makes our unhappy grunt. Now we see the school exterior
- 18:12Speaker 1: and the bell is going off and it looks like
- 18:14Speaker 1: it's twelve fifty. I'm gon go back to the class
- 18:17Speaker 1: two ten sign and we hear a voice say oayno Yama.
- 18:21Speaker 1: It's that like reddish haired kid that plays basketball, and
- 18:25Speaker 1: he's holding a basketball and he says, wait, you're skipping
- 18:29Speaker 1: basketball again. Uino Yama is standing with his guitar in
- 18:33Speaker 1: his back, and he says, yeah, sorry, and we hear
- 18:35Speaker 1: a voice say, o wayna Yama kun. They both look
- 18:39Speaker 1: over and it's that kind of shortish brown haired girl
- 18:42Speaker 1: and she's standing near the door pointing at it, and
- 18:46Speaker 1: Mafuyu like leans in the doorway and smiles and blushes
- 18:50Speaker 1: and says oyen oyama kun. Now we cut to the
- 18:54Speaker 1: interior of like a train car, like a subway probably
- 18:57Speaker 1: train car. Ooo. Yama and maful You are both standing
- 19:02Speaker 1: on the train, you know, holding the little thing so
- 19:05Speaker 1: they don't fall over, and they're standing like next to
- 19:07Speaker 1: each other. Anyway, Oui no Yama says, they said it's
- 19:11Speaker 1: fine for you to play too, as long as it's
- 19:12Speaker 1: during our breaks. Mafou looks at him and gasps, really
- 19:17Speaker 1: we know. Yama says, yeah, so be sure to say
- 19:20Speaker 1: thank you. Mafuu's like, okay, thank you, we know. Yama's like,
- 19:25Speaker 1: not to me. Mafuu looks confused and it's quiet for
- 19:29Speaker 1: a second, and he says, the guy with the long
- 19:32Speaker 1: hair ou we know. Yama's like, Haruki san. Mafuu continues,
- 19:36Speaker 1: Is he a college student Wuna? Yama says, yeah, wait,
- 19:41Speaker 1: actually I think he's a grad student. I think he's
- 19:44Speaker 1: studying something to do with video. Mafuu's like hmm, he's
- 19:49Speaker 1: kind of taking it in and he says and the
- 19:51Speaker 1: guy with the piercings Wayna. Yama's like, that's Kajisan. He's
- 19:56Speaker 1: a second year at the same college that Hadukisan goes to.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You know, you better remember their names and faces by
- 20:02Speaker 1: the time we get there. It's hard man. Mafu's like, yeah,
- 20:07Speaker 1: we see a train sign now that has something to
- 20:10Speaker 1: do with manners and like giving up your seat for
- 20:14Speaker 1: an old woman, and it says in English, at least
- 20:17Speaker 1: think train manners. I don't know why we're looking at this,
- 20:21Speaker 1: maybe to save animation budget A. Mafus like, you're amazing,
- 20:25Speaker 1: uino Yama kuhn h oo. Yama's like, huh me mafu
- 20:30Speaker 1: YOUU says you're in a band with a college student
- 20:32Speaker 1: and a grad student. It's kind of a long pause,
- 20:35Speaker 1: and then uino Yama says, I don't see what's so amazing.
- 20:39Speaker 1: It might be a little bit embarrassed, because honestly, being
- 20:42Speaker 1: a high school student and being in a band with
- 20:44Speaker 1: college kids is actually pretty cool. Now we see a
- 20:47Speaker 1: sign that says Shimo Kitazawa Station, and I looked up
- 20:52Speaker 1: to see where the hell that is, because these seem
- 20:54Speaker 1: like they're real places. And it is an interchange station
- 20:58Speaker 1: on the Odaku Odawara and ko Ino Kishira lines located
- 21:05Speaker 1: in Kitazawa, Setagaya, Tokyo, and the station is jointly operated
- 21:10Speaker 1: by Odaku Electric Railway and Ko Corporation. Anyway, the Shimo
- 21:16Speaker 1: Kitazawa district, which is where this is located in, is
- 21:20Speaker 1: like really popular and it has like a lot of
- 21:23Speaker 1: independently owned like shops and cafes and live music venues.
- 21:27Speaker 1: So this is a pretty good place I guess to
- 21:30Speaker 1: have like a music studio. I think it makes sense.
- 21:34Speaker 1: That's all I learned. Yay anyway we see them like
- 21:39Speaker 1: walking through you know, the thing that you go into
- 21:42Speaker 1: enter a subway, the little gate thing that like you
- 21:46Speaker 1: like put in your money or swipe a thing. And
- 21:50Speaker 1: I was confused because I was like, I think they're
- 21:52Speaker 1: getting off here, so why are they like swiping their thing?
- 21:56Speaker 1: But apparently on Japanese subways, you swipe your like card
- 22:02Speaker 1: or whatever when you enter, and then when you exit,
- 22:05Speaker 1: you swipe it again to pay because you have to
- 22:08Speaker 1: pay like per stop or mile or something, which sounds
- 22:11Speaker 1: like it could either be a good thing or a
- 22:13Speaker 1: bad thing, depending on how far you're going. But I
- 22:16Speaker 1: just thought that was really interesting because I'm very much
- 22:18Speaker 1: used to you swipe your card or whatever it is
- 22:22Speaker 1: when you enter the subway and you pay a flat
- 22:24Speaker 1: fee and then you just leave when you leave. Plus,
- 22:28Speaker 1: like if you get to a place and you realize
- 22:30Speaker 1: you don't have enough money, what are you supposed to do?
- 22:32Speaker 1: Get back and go home? Like that's not gonna work. Also,
- 22:35Speaker 1: like if I were to get on a regional rail,
- 22:38Speaker 1: I would have to buy a ticket ahead of time
- 22:39Speaker 1: based on like where I'm going, so it would never
- 22:42Speaker 1: be like you don't pay until the end. I don't know,
- 22:45Speaker 1: but I guess it works in Japan like this, so
- 22:48Speaker 1: yay I learned something new, I guess. Anyway, they're going
- 22:52Speaker 1: through the little gate things, and the gate like closes
- 22:56Speaker 1: on Mafuu so we can get through. I mean, he
- 22:58Speaker 1: could step over it. It's real small, but that would
- 23:00Speaker 1: be illegal. So we hear like a tone and then
- 23:04Speaker 1: a voice says, please reload your IC card, which is
- 23:07Speaker 1: the card that you swipe. Yeah. Mafu You looks up
- 23:11Speaker 1: at uai no Yama and is silent for a second
- 23:13Speaker 1: and he's like wait a second, and he turns back. Yeah,
- 23:16Speaker 1: he's got to go put more money on his card.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Ouio Yama exhales. Now we see the side of a
- 23:22Speaker 1: building that's like all windows, some of them are frosted,
- 23:25Speaker 1: some of them aren't in maybe like a pattern, but
- 23:27Speaker 1: like not a coherent pattern, and Mafuu is just staring
- 23:31Speaker 1: at it like it's the coolest thing ever. It's it's
- 23:33Speaker 1: pretty cool, but not that cool, and uio Yama's like,
- 23:36Speaker 1: sato over here. Mafou looks up and walks over to him,
- 23:40Speaker 1: and uya Yama's like, geez, you've been here before. Mafu
- 23:44Speaker 1: You says, yeah, they start walking again, and then we
- 23:47Speaker 1: see the exterior of the studio. We're kind of looking
- 23:49Speaker 1: up at it, and mafu You says guitar. Uio Yama's like, yep,
- 23:56Speaker 1: mafu You says, do you practice a lot? They are
- 23:59Speaker 1: walking into I guess the studio building. Now there's like
- 24:02Speaker 1: a weird lobby that I couldn't really make sense of.
- 24:05Speaker 1: It has like vending machines and like a guitar hanging
- 24:08Speaker 1: on the wall and someone behind a counter like it's
- 24:10Speaker 1: a concession stand. I don't really know. This was weird
- 24:12Speaker 1: to me anyway, Ueinoyama's like, well, yeah, you can get
- 24:16Speaker 1: good without practicing. Mafuuu bows to the counter person as
- 24:20Speaker 1: they pass, and it's like oh. They stand out in
- 24:23Speaker 1: the hallway in front of the practice space room door,
- 24:26Speaker 1: and uio Yama's like, you're not having second thoughts now,
- 24:29Speaker 1: are you. Mafuu's like no, uino Yama says good. Now
- 24:34Speaker 1: we see how do Kei like staring at his phone
- 24:37Speaker 1: and he hears the door open, and we hear uio
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yama say, hey, guys, how do Gi looks up and
- 24:42Speaker 1: he's like, oh, welcome, I've been waiting for you. Mafoou
- 24:46Speaker 1: bows and says thanks for having me. Uino Yama points
- 24:49Speaker 1: to maybe, like I guess the wall and says, sit
- 24:52Speaker 1: over there somewhere. Mafuu's like, okay, how do Ki says
- 24:56Speaker 1: Mafo you do you want to play a little before
- 24:58Speaker 1: we start? Mafuu stops walking over to the wall and
- 25:03Speaker 1: we see that the clock says it is six fifteen,
- 25:06Speaker 1: and uino Yama's like, are you sure how to pisan
- 25:10Speaker 1: Pi's like yeah, totally, Aki goes late. Anyway, you want
- 25:14Speaker 1: to play, right, Mafu youu gasps and he's like yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Uino Yamba seems kind of surprised by this for some reason.
- 25:21Speaker 1: And then we see the ceiling. Yes, it's the ceiling
- 25:24Speaker 1: or the wall. I couldn't really tell. As Mafu You
- 25:27Speaker 1: tunes his guitar with one of those tuners that like
- 25:30Speaker 1: sits on like the top of the guitar, like where
- 25:33Speaker 1: the tuning pegs are. You like clip it up at
- 25:35Speaker 1: the top on the head of the guitar and it
- 25:38Speaker 1: shows you what note you're playing so you can adjust it.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I do not have one of these, but I know
- 25:43Speaker 1: many many people who do. And he's tuning the high e,
- 25:46Speaker 1: which is the first string, and uino Yama walks over
- 25:50Speaker 1: to him and says, done tuning. Usually you end with
- 25:53Speaker 1: the high e, so yeah, he probably is. Mafuu nods
- 25:57Speaker 1: and says, yeah. See. Oenoyama is holding up an instrument
- 26:02Speaker 1: cable and he says, then go ahead and plug this in.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Mafuyu's like, plug it in, a dude. Oenoyama says, here,
- 26:11Speaker 1: let me. He plugs the cord into the front of
- 26:14Speaker 1: Mafuyu's guitar, and he says, make sure it's plugged in
- 26:17Speaker 1: all the way. Mafui's like, what is it? Yeah, I
- 26:22Speaker 1: would be getting frustrated too, honestly, because what do you mean?
- 26:25Speaker 1: What is it? That's It's okay, it's okay. He doesn't
- 26:29Speaker 1: know anything. It's fine. Ouen Oyama says, it's a guitar cable.
- 26:33Speaker 1: It connects your guitar to the amp. Mafuy's like amp.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Ouen Oyama puts his hand on the marshall half stack
- 26:41Speaker 1: amp that is there that he's gonna plug it into,
- 26:43Speaker 1: and he's like this it makes you louder. That's actually
- 26:46Speaker 1: a very good description of what an amp does. I guess.
- 26:50Speaker 1: We see a close up of the amp, like, we
- 26:52Speaker 1: can see the power switch and a standby switch, and
- 26:55Speaker 1: it is a model jc M two zero. I can't
- 26:59Speaker 1: see there, but I can tell you that I looked
- 27:01Speaker 1: it up and there is no such thing as a
- 27:03Speaker 1: JCM to zero whatever. So they were probably going for
- 27:06Speaker 1: a JCM eight hundred, which looks a lot like that,
- 27:09Speaker 1: but they didn't actually want to know name it correctly
- 27:13Speaker 1: because then they'd be advertising it or something. Anyway, Uinoyama continues,
- 27:18Speaker 1: First make sure the power is off and the volume
- 27:21Speaker 1: is at zero. We see other parts of the amp now,
- 27:25Speaker 1: like the other knob, so there's a reverb knob like
- 27:27Speaker 1: ultra gain and classic gain. I guess, and uino Yama
- 27:32Speaker 1: plugs the cable in and they says, and then turn
- 27:36Speaker 1: on the power. We hear him turn it on and
- 27:38Speaker 1: he's like, got it. Maful You says, yeah, how do
- 27:42Speaker 1: key is watching all of this? And he's like that
- 27:44Speaker 1: was so easy to understand. Honestly, that was really good.
- 27:48Speaker 1: He's good at making things simple for people. So yeah,
- 27:52Speaker 1: major points or something. Ouiinoyama then says, make sure you
- 27:56Speaker 1: connected in that order. Mafu You says, yeah, what happens
- 28:00Speaker 1: if you do it wrong? O we know. Yama looks
- 28:03Speaker 1: away and thinks for a second, and then he turns
- 28:05Speaker 1: the amp off, puts the gate all the way up,
- 28:08Speaker 1: pulls the cord out and hand it to Mafu you
- 28:12Speaker 1: and he says, give it a try, and how do.
- 28:14Speaker 1: He's like, no, no, no, no wuinno. Yama's like, he'll learn
- 28:17Speaker 1: better if he messes up on his own, that's true.
- 28:20Speaker 1: How do? He's like, yeah, but think of our ears
- 28:23Speaker 1: please while they are freaking out. Mafu you flips the
- 28:27Speaker 1: power back on and we hear almost like a minor pop,
- 28:30Speaker 1: and he's like, I did it, And how do? He's
- 28:33Speaker 1: like oh, and he claps. Okay, let me pause there
- 28:37Speaker 1: so that I can explain what that was. So this
- 28:41Speaker 1: is really, in my experience, more of a problem. When
- 28:44Speaker 1: you're unplugging, like an instrument cable from an amp, you
- 28:48Speaker 1: want to make sure that you have turned off the
- 28:50Speaker 1: amp before you unplug it, because if you don't, it
- 28:53Speaker 1: will make a loud pop noise because you'll be hearing
- 28:57Speaker 1: the sound of you removing the plug. So it's very
- 29:00Speaker 1: unpleasant for everyone involved. Sometimes it's loud, sometimes it's not
- 29:04Speaker 1: that loud. But I have a habit of just removing
- 29:06Speaker 1: them and totally forgetting that an amp is involved, because
- 29:09Speaker 1: I normally play acoustic, Like my acoustic guitar has like
- 29:12Speaker 1: a little pickup in it that I installed that I
- 29:14Speaker 1: can use to amplify it, but I almost never do that,
- 29:17Speaker 1: So when I do that, I totally forget and I'll
- 29:21Speaker 1: just pull it out and everyone will be sad because
- 29:23Speaker 1: it's a loud pop. So right, the way to avoid
- 29:26Speaker 1: that would be to just turn off the amp before
- 29:28Speaker 1: you do that. Normally, it's not as big of a
- 29:31Speaker 1: deal if the amp is on when you stick it
- 29:33Speaker 1: in and you absolutely do not need to turn the
- 29:35Speaker 1: volume all the way down, you could just turn the
- 29:37Speaker 1: amp off because then you have to reset the volume,
- 29:39Speaker 1: and I'm getting pissed off about that. I don't know,
- 29:41Speaker 1: so this is a little bit overblown. But the joke is,
- 29:44Speaker 1: of course, that's mafu. You did it and it was
- 29:46Speaker 1: not a big deal. So yay, now now you know.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Maybe I'm not even sure that I explain that in
- 29:51Speaker 1: a way that makes sense. Definitely, uhai o yam is
- 29:54Speaker 1: better at explaining things than I am, so sorry anyway,
- 29:58Speaker 1: Ueinoyama says the volume and play a bits like what
- 30:01Speaker 1: is he gonna play? Did you teach him anything? Mafu
- 30:04Speaker 1: is like okay, and uio Yama says, it'll be too
- 30:07Speaker 1: loud if you turn it up too much. At first,
- 30:09Speaker 1: Mafou says, okay, how do He sits down to watch
- 30:12Speaker 1: all of this, and mafu U strums and uey o
- 30:15Speaker 1: Yama adjusts the volume and he says this should be fine.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Mafuu strums again, and uio Yama is like, I know
- 30:23Speaker 1: I told you to play a bit, but I guess
- 30:25Speaker 1: you don't know any chords exactly. Maybe a sea would Mafu.
- 30:29Speaker 1: You gasped, and it's like, I want to learn the
- 30:31Speaker 1: first one that you played me. He starts to blush
- 30:34Speaker 1: a little, and we get a flashback of when Ueinoyama
- 30:37Speaker 1: was playing that chord in the stairwell, which I can't
- 30:40Speaker 1: even remember now. If I said that that was a
- 30:42Speaker 1: chord or not, I might have said I thought it
- 30:44Speaker 1: was a G. It is not a G. But we'll
- 30:46Speaker 1: get to that in one second anyway. Unoyama's like, oh,
- 30:50Speaker 1: that's right here. He's pointing to the strings, but it's
- 30:54Speaker 1: too far away and we've got like a weird angle,
- 30:56Speaker 1: so we can't tell what strings and what fingers he's
- 30:58Speaker 1: talking about, and he says the second one and then
- 31:02Speaker 1: this one and this one, and how do key is
- 31:05Speaker 1: just really enjoying less? Oh no, Yama continues, No, no,
- 31:08Speaker 1: use your middle finger and the ring finger. Hmm. We
- 31:12Speaker 1: cut to Mafuu's hand and he's holding a chord position
- 31:15Speaker 1: and he takes a deep breath and he strums. He gasps, yeah,
- 31:22Speaker 1: it sounds perfect. But let's pause for a second because
- 31:27Speaker 1: we need to talk about what happened here, because it's
- 31:29Speaker 1: not well, it didn't make me happy anyway. The chord
- 31:33Speaker 1: I just played. That's an A chord more or less.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I mean, my guitar is mostly in tune. So the
- 31:41Speaker 1: A chord is comprised of three notes, which is A
- 31:44Speaker 1: C sharp and E. So you typically don't play the
- 31:47Speaker 1: low e string, which is the sixth string with an
- 31:49Speaker 1: A chord, but the first string, which is a high e,
- 31:53Speaker 1: is open, and the fifth string is also open because
- 31:56Speaker 1: it is an A. There we go, So you put
- 32:00Speaker 1: your first or point your finger on the second fret
- 32:03Speaker 1: of the fourth also known as D string. Then you
- 32:09Speaker 1: put your second or middle finger on the second fret
- 32:12Speaker 1: of the G or third string, and then you put
- 32:17Speaker 1: your third or ring finger on the second fret of
- 32:21Speaker 1: the second or B string, and you can play it
- 32:25Speaker 1: all together and you have an A that sounds okay, right,
- 32:29Speaker 1: and I'm not perfect, but it sounds okay. So that
- 32:32Speaker 1: is absolutely not the chord shape that I see in
- 32:36Speaker 1: the anime. The chord shape in the anime is something
- 32:39Speaker 1: like this, like try to write it down. So it
- 32:42Speaker 1: is you put your first finger on the first thread
- 32:45Speaker 1: of the fifth string, so like this, Look, that's weird.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Then you put your second finger on the second fret
- 32:56Speaker 1: of the fourth string. I think it was really hard
- 32:59Speaker 1: to tell what he was pressing down. Okay. Then you
- 33:04Speaker 1: put your third finger on the second fred of the
- 33:10Speaker 1: third string like this okay, and then you put your
- 33:15Speaker 1: fourth finger on the third front of the third string.
- 33:17Speaker 1: That doesn't make any sense because that would cancel out
- 33:20Speaker 1: the last one we just did. What is that? So
- 33:23Speaker 1: then if you played all together, it sounds like this.
- 33:26Speaker 1: What's that supposed to be? I don't know. That's not
- 33:30Speaker 1: a chord. So I was a little bit sad about
- 33:33Speaker 1: this because how hard would it be to just put
- 33:37Speaker 1: the positions that are correct for the A chord or
- 33:40Speaker 1: not show it at all. I can only assume that they,
- 33:44Speaker 1: just the people who did the anime, thought that there
- 33:47Speaker 1: wouldn't be a lot of musicians that would be watching this,
- 33:51Speaker 1: or that no one would notice, or they didn't care
- 33:53Speaker 1: enough to look. I don't know, but this actually prompted
- 33:56Speaker 1: me to start reading the manga, which I had stopped
- 33:59Speaker 1: reading because well, it's really hard to read a music
- 34:02Speaker 1: manga that doesn't have actual music in it. And I
- 34:05Speaker 1: learned that none of this is in the manga at all.
- 34:08Speaker 1: It's all anime original and it kind of sucks, so
- 34:11Speaker 1: not happy with it. Anyway, Sorry about that detour. Let's
- 34:15Speaker 1: get back on it. So anyway, Mafuyu has just played
- 34:19Speaker 1: this chord sort of and he gasps again because it
- 34:24Speaker 1: sounds really good, and it probably wouldn't. It would probably
- 34:26Speaker 1: sound more like this, trying to make this sound like
- 34:29Speaker 1: that or something, because he's never played a chord before,
- 34:31Speaker 1: so he's probably gonna press down hard enough, you know,
- 34:34Speaker 1: But he is just a genius. He's great. So it
- 34:36Speaker 1: sounds great, and he looks to Uei no Yama for approval,
- 34:40Speaker 1: and uio Yama smiles. Mafuyu strums again and he starts
- 34:44Speaker 1: to just shrum over and over and over again and
- 34:46Speaker 1: faster and faster and faster, and he keeps strumming, and
- 34:49Speaker 1: uino Yama starts to look annoy and he's like, ohkay,
- 34:51Speaker 1: that's enough that he no. We hear Howdouki like laughing
- 34:56Speaker 1: in the background as Kaji opens the door, and he's
- 34:58Speaker 1: like hey, and and then we hear uino Yama say, look,
- 35:02Speaker 1: we get it. You're happy, and mafou is still strumming,
- 35:05Speaker 1: and Kaji's like, what the fuck is going on? And
- 35:08Speaker 1: uyin O Yama says, you can stop it now. You
- 35:11Speaker 1: probably shouldn't have asked him to stop like that, because
- 35:13Speaker 1: the whole point was him practicing, right, but whatever, it
- 35:17Speaker 1: was too much for uyino Yama. Anyway. Now we see
- 35:21Speaker 1: the exterior of the building and it's dark out, and
- 35:24Speaker 1: we hear uyeno Oyama say, first here He points to
- 35:29Speaker 1: the spot on the guitar that's between like the pickups
- 35:34Speaker 1: where the strings are on the body, and mafu You
- 35:37Speaker 1: says yeah. Uino Yama like taps on the strings and says,
- 35:41Speaker 1: you generally play here between the pickups. Cool, mafu You says,
- 35:45Speaker 1: okay uino Yama is sitting on a stool and he's
- 35:48Speaker 1: holding his telecaster while Mafu You sits on the floor
- 35:51Speaker 1: like in front of him, and he continues, you can
- 35:54Speaker 1: just try and memorize a couple of chords to start
- 35:56Speaker 1: off with. You just need to have some idea of
- 35:58Speaker 1: what it should sound like. Muffu. He's like, okay. Kaji
- 36:02Speaker 1: and Hodoki are now smoking outside, and hodok he blows
- 36:06Speaker 1: some smoke which is gross and says, you know, Uchi
- 36:10Speaker 1: seems like the type to be all it's all about me, me, me,
- 36:13Speaker 1: And Kaji's like, hmmm, how do he continues I'm talking
- 36:17Speaker 1: about un no Yama. Kaji's like, ah, I guess he
- 36:20Speaker 1: doesn't call him uechi whatever? How do he continues? But
- 36:24Speaker 1: I think he's actually pretty good at taking care of others.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Kaji's like, well, yeah do He's like right, you think
- 36:31Speaker 1: so too. Kaji says, well, I mean he's been that
- 36:35Speaker 1: way from the beginning. Oh huh, how do he's like
- 36:38Speaker 1: he has? I thought he was really conceited at first.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Kaji puffs out some smoke gross and is like, well,
- 36:46Speaker 1: he doesn't go running off on his own and for
- 36:47Speaker 1: his age, he's really good at listening. To the sounds
- 36:50Speaker 1: around him. He might have seemed a little brady because
- 36:53Speaker 1: you know he's going through puberty. Deep down, I think
- 36:56Speaker 1: he's a really good, honest guy. Huh do. He's like,
- 37:00Speaker 1: I'm surprised at how perceptive you are of the people
- 37:02Speaker 1: around you. He like pokes Kaji in the shoulder, especially
- 37:06Speaker 1: with that scary face. Kaji's like, what does that have
- 37:09Speaker 1: to do with anything? He kind of scratches his head
- 37:11Speaker 1: and he's like, actually, how do I say this? He's like,
- 37:15Speaker 1: what Kaji says? Never mind, let's head back. What Kaji?
- 37:19Speaker 1: What how do k He's like, okay, he doesn't want
- 37:22Speaker 1: to know. He puts out his cigarette in the ashtray.
- 37:25Speaker 1: We get a close up of Kaji's face, like just
- 37:28Speaker 1: half of it, so we see one eye in some
- 37:29Speaker 1: of his nose and he kind of like looks up
- 37:32Speaker 1: into the side and he thinks. Not sure if it's
- 37:35Speaker 1: that he's good at taking care of other people or
- 37:37Speaker 1: if he has a strong desire to protect them. I
- 37:41Speaker 1: think he can be both. We cut to oh, you know,
- 37:43Speaker 1: Yama talking to Mafuyu inside we can't hear them, and
- 37:47Speaker 1: we get a Kaji voice over over here that says
- 37:50Speaker 1: which could also mean we go to the eye catch
- 37:52Speaker 1: what finish your fucking sentence. We see the exterior of
- 37:57Speaker 1: the studio again, and now it is daytime, so it's
- 37:59Speaker 1: probably not the same day. Then we see the door
- 38:02Speaker 1: of Studio one from the hallway. It's like brightly lits
- 38:06Speaker 1: inside and oo Yama says, you can pick whatever song
- 38:10Speaker 1: you want, but you should master it. Mafuu's like, okay oo,
- 38:14Speaker 1: Ayama says, start with the intro, the very beginning of
- 38:17Speaker 1: the song. He's like counting on his fingers. Mafu you says,
- 38:21Speaker 1: okay ouo Yama continues, once you can do that, learn
- 38:24Speaker 1: the verse the verses. Mafo you just cuts him off
- 38:27Speaker 1: and he's like okay ouin Oyama's hand shakes with rage,
- 38:30Speaker 1: and he's like all you ever say is okay or yeah?
- 38:33Speaker 1: Are you actually listening. Mafuo's like yeah ouio Yama puts
- 38:39Speaker 1: his hands on his head in frustration, and we get
- 38:41Speaker 1: like a black background, and he thinks, I have no
- 38:43Speaker 1: idea if I'm actually getting through to him. Mafou starts
- 38:47Speaker 1: strumming his guitar and he's like b b brahm and
- 38:51Speaker 1: at this point, huddock. He opens the door and Kaji
- 38:54Speaker 1: is behind him, and how do he says? Hey? Kaji's like,
- 38:57Speaker 1: looks like you're heart at work. Mafoo You is sitting
- 39:00Speaker 1: on the floor and he nods and OK. He's like,
- 39:04Speaker 1: you're starting to look like an actual guitarist. He kneels
- 39:07Speaker 1: next to him, say Mafuu son. Mafuj's like yeah. Hadoki says,
- 39:12Speaker 1: if you're serious about playing music, there's one thing you
- 39:15Speaker 1: absolutely need. You're gonna need to do something about that soon.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Kaji's like, Oh, that's what Owainoyama is like, the thing
- 39:25Speaker 1: I always struggle to have enough of. We see Mafuyu
- 39:28Speaker 1: on a like a blue background with like white dots
- 39:30Speaker 1: behind him, and he's like, what is that? We cut
- 39:34Speaker 1: two magazines now job listings, let's say, hiring two hundred
- 39:39Speaker 1: new staff members, find a new you with new career
- 39:44Speaker 1: jobs with stability, and great jobs for housewives. All right.
- 39:48Speaker 1: We cut to Hadoki looking real intense with this terrifying
- 39:51Speaker 1: blue aura around him, like waving a thousand yen note
- 39:54Speaker 1: and he says money, son, and we hear uayen Oyama say, now,
- 39:59Speaker 1: pick apart time job from one of these magazines. We're
- 40:02Speaker 1: kind of like panning out and we see that all
- 40:04Speaker 1: three of them look just terrifying. Kaji says, from venue
- 40:08Speaker 1: fees to studio fees, bands need money. They all kind
- 40:12Speaker 1: of laugh deviously, and they're like standing over Mafuu and
- 40:17Speaker 1: this like look up utter horror, like Grace's Mafulu's face.
- 40:22Speaker 1: And then we hear Unoyama say, oh, we kind of
- 40:25Speaker 1: scared him. We got to black, and then to a
- 40:28Speaker 1: TV screen or I guess it's actually a phone screen
- 40:31Speaker 1: with a person in a salon chair facing away from us,
- 40:33Speaker 1: but they have blonde, kind of longish hair, and there's
- 40:36Speaker 1: some dude there too. When he's talking into the camera,
- 40:39Speaker 1: and the dude says, hello, this is the ever so
- 40:43Speaker 1: unpopular Hanaoka like from the hair salon Hadu Same here
- 40:49Speaker 1: with my ever so unpopular friend Hadu chan, and I'll
- 40:53Speaker 1: be showing you a cute way to style your hair.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Comments are appearing on the screen. Maybe this is on
- 41:00Speaker 1: on YouTube or something. I don't know, and they're coming
- 41:02Speaker 1: throughout this, but I'll just read them all at the
- 41:04Speaker 1: same time. So one of them says Hodu chan and
- 41:07Speaker 1: then has like a little symbol for a boy, and
- 41:11Speaker 1: the next one says hotto chm come. And then someone
- 41:14Speaker 1: says salan ha dou same and someone's like llol o
- 41:18Speaker 1: will and someone else says Halo chan has super broad shoulders,
- 41:22Speaker 1: and someone's like wait, lol o wel or something. I
- 41:25Speaker 1: don't know. Anyway, Hanoka continues, we'll start with some basic
- 41:29Speaker 1: styling tips. Okay, we're gonna take a section of Haddu
- 41:33Speaker 1: Chan's hair and start curling. We see now that Mafuyu
- 41:37Speaker 1: is watching this on a phone and Kaji stops the
- 41:40Speaker 1: video and all of them are like sitting at a
- 41:43Speaker 1: table in a restaurant with like boots. So there's two boots.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Hadoki and Kaji you are at one, and Ui no
- 41:48Speaker 1: Yama and mafu You were at the other. Mafuu's like
- 41:51Speaker 1: this is Hadoki san? Yeah it is. He has just
- 41:55Speaker 1: gorgeous hair. Kaji's like yep, and then in a higher voice, says,
- 41:59Speaker 1: how do low your man's mind cute and sexy styling seminar?
- 42:03Speaker 1: How do? He's like, shut up? Mafu You says that's
- 42:06Speaker 1: a part time job too. How do He's like, yeah,
- 42:09Speaker 1: my friend asks me to help out every once in
- 42:11Speaker 1: a while. We have a pretty wide shot now, so
- 42:14Speaker 1: they're kind of in it, but just kind of in
- 42:16Speaker 1: the corner of the restaurant, and most of this is
- 42:18Speaker 1: just a still frame. And Oinoyama says, you also work
- 42:22Speaker 1: at some fancy cafe, right, how do piece like fancy cafe?
- 42:27Speaker 1: Kaji runs his hand through the non pinned back section
- 42:31Speaker 1: of Hadakey's hair, because part of Hadakey's hair was in
- 42:33Speaker 1: like a low buner or ponytail. Okay, and he says,
- 42:37Speaker 1: your hair is really pretty though, how do key is frozen?
- 42:40Speaker 1: In just utter shock? Kaji continues, did you get it
- 42:44Speaker 1: professionally treated? How do? He's like, uh, like once a month.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Ouoyama says, my sister gets that done too. How do
- 42:53Speaker 1: he continues, Yeah, it can be pretty rough. I don't
- 42:57Speaker 1: know anything about this guy's and Mafo You's just been
- 43:00Speaker 1: like looking down this whole time, and we see that
- 43:02Speaker 1: he's looking at a magazine that says worker Metropolitan Edition,
- 43:06Speaker 1: this week's feature late night in early morning Jobs, this
- 43:09Speaker 1: month's feature jobs with long term Stability. They have a
- 43:13Speaker 1: lot of job magazines in Japan. I guess, Mafu You says,
- 43:17Speaker 1: do all people in bands have to have part time jobs? Oh?
- 43:21Speaker 1: You know, you almost like, well, not if they're rich.
- 43:24Speaker 1: What you loaded? Mafu's like, no, Kaji says, it figures
- 43:29Speaker 1: I should just probably say that. No, not all people
- 43:31Speaker 1: in bands have to have part time jobs. In fact,
- 43:34Speaker 1: I know people in bands who are homeless and don't
- 43:36Speaker 1: have any jobs. So yeah, you could be whatever you want.
- 43:40Speaker 1: You can be in a band without a job. Mike
- 43:43Speaker 1: things a little harder, you know, if you have to
- 43:45Speaker 1: pay for instruments and shit, but you absolutely do it.
- 43:47Speaker 1: So shut the fuck up, everybody, That's what I say. Anyway,
- 43:51Speaker 1: how did He takes one of the magazines off the
- 43:53Speaker 1: table and says, okay, let's give us some real thoughts.
- 43:56Speaker 1: They are just having drinks, by the way, no food,
- 43:59Speaker 1: he continues, I recommend somewhere that feeds you. Oo. Yama's like,
- 44:04Speaker 1: that's vital. I work with Kaji san at a convenience store.
- 44:07Speaker 1: How do He's like a convenience store? Uino Yama says,
- 44:11Speaker 1: franchise convenience stores feed you. They do. Kaji's like, you
- 44:16Speaker 1: can take home old stuff. You can that must be nice.
- 44:19Speaker 1: You can't do that here for the most part, and
- 44:21Speaker 1: that sucks. You've gotta go to the dumpster and get it. Anyway,
- 44:24Speaker 1: how do? He's like, you guys need to eat stuff
- 44:26Speaker 1: besides Bento's Now we go to a still image of
- 44:29Speaker 1: Kaji and Uinoyama with blue shirts and hats holding cardboard boxes,
- 44:34Speaker 1: and Ouo Yama looks like he's struggling to hold this
- 44:37Speaker 1: box up. Kaji is not how do, he says, Come
- 44:40Speaker 1: to think of it, don't you both also work for
- 44:42Speaker 1: a moving company? Oo Yama's like, I want to get
- 44:45Speaker 1: his buff as Kaji san. We pan across the table
- 44:48Speaker 1: to Kaji, who is flexing his very muscular upper arm.
- 44:51Speaker 1: It's very muscular. Kaji's like, also for temp work, I
- 44:56Speaker 1: do motorcycle deliveries. We see him on a motorcycle. Work
- 44:59Speaker 1: as a waiter at events. We see him as a waiter,
- 45:01Speaker 1: and I'm a security guard sometimes too. We also see
- 45:04Speaker 1: that how do He's like hey, and he grabs Kaji
- 45:07Speaker 1: by the collar and he's like, when did you do
- 45:08Speaker 1: all that? Yeah? Kaji smiles and is like you wanted
- 45:12Speaker 1: to see it? Okay. Wuena Yama says, why didn't you
- 45:17Speaker 1: invite me to work with you? Kaji's like, I'm pretty
- 45:20Speaker 1: sure high schoolers can't do these. Maful you says high
- 45:23Speaker 1: school kids can't work. Finding a part time job is hard. Huh.
- 45:29Speaker 1: How do He's like, it's too early to give up.
- 45:32Speaker 1: There are plenty of places high schoolers can work. Oh,
- 45:35Speaker 1: I know, what about a concert venue, Mafulu says, a
- 45:39Speaker 1: concert venue. Kaji's like, that's a good idea. You'd be
- 45:43Speaker 1: able to see some live shows for free too, strip
- 45:46Speaker 1: how do He's like, owai sama your face. We see
- 45:49Speaker 1: Wuyen Oyama sipping his drink through a straw, looking super
- 45:53Speaker 1: fucking annoy. Kaji's like, you hate the idea that much.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Mafuuu's like, why, oh we know? Yama says, cause I
- 46:01Speaker 1: don't want to vomit from seeing some high school cover
- 46:04Speaker 1: band playing basic ass jpop songs. Geez dude, how Dooki says,
- 46:09Speaker 1: don't say mean things like that. Really, they're trying their
- 46:13Speaker 1: best with their basic ass jpop songs. Leave them alone.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Now we see outside at a kind of crossroads of
- 46:20Speaker 1: sorts in city, and it is night out, and there's
- 46:24Speaker 1: a lot of folks walking around, but they're in a
- 46:26Speaker 1: still frame, so they're not actually moving at all. Oh
- 46:29Speaker 1: I know, Yama and Mafu, you are walking next to
- 46:32Speaker 1: each other down the street, O. We know. Yama looks
- 46:35Speaker 1: over at Mafuu and he's like, hey, Mafo YOUU says
- 46:38Speaker 1: hmm O. We know. Yama's like, I know you want
- 46:41Speaker 1: to play guitar, but how good do you want to
- 46:43Speaker 1: be at it? Mafoo you says how good? O? We know?
- 46:47Speaker 1: Yama's like, do you want to be able to play
- 46:49Speaker 1: just a little? Or do you actually want to be
- 46:50Speaker 1: able to play some songs? What? Why wouldn't you want
- 46:55Speaker 1: to play songs? I know I keep telling you this,
- 46:57Speaker 1: but I've never taught anyone before. No idea if I'm
- 47:00Speaker 1: even doing it right? And you're okay with that? Muffuu
- 47:04Speaker 1: stops walking and looks at the ground. I'm not sure.
- 47:07Speaker 1: He then looks up at Uinoyama. But I have fun
- 47:11Speaker 1: oh u No. Yama makes a little surprise noise and
- 47:14Speaker 1: he looks away because he started to blush a little,
- 47:17Speaker 1: and he says, I see, and he starts to like
- 47:20Speaker 1: speed walk off. Muffu you follows him. We fades a
- 47:23Speaker 1: black We see an exterior shot of the school. Yay
- 47:27Speaker 1: and that kind of reddish haired kid that is friends
- 47:31Speaker 1: with Uaynoyama is sitting at a desk facing backwards, holding
- 47:36Speaker 1: a juice box, and he says, are you guys like
- 47:40Speaker 1: super good friends? Suddenly, Uinoyama is sitting at the desk
- 47:43Speaker 1: behind him, facing forward obviously, so they're facing each other,
- 47:47Speaker 1: and he says, huh, he's also holding a sandwich of sorts.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Who is you, guys? The kid says, you know the
- 47:56Speaker 1: kid from the class next door. What was his name again,
- 47:59Speaker 1: Suzuki Sanaka? We know yamas like Sato. The kid says, yeah, him,
- 48:04Speaker 1: Why are you guys all buddy buddy lately? You've been
- 48:07Speaker 1: hanging around him instead of us? Right O? We know?
- 48:09Speaker 1: Ayama stops chewing and kind of like makes it sound.
- 48:13Speaker 1: The kid says, I mean you and Suzuki O, we
- 48:15Speaker 1: know Yama's like t Sato. That brown haired, shortest haired
- 48:19Speaker 1: girl walks over and says, well, neither of you were
- 48:23Speaker 1: exactly sociable. They look up in mutual surprise to see her,
- 48:27Speaker 1: and the girl says, you're in different classes and have
- 48:30Speaker 1: different personalities. All the girls have been wondering what's up
- 48:33Speaker 1: with you two? We know Yama's like they've actually been wondering.
- 48:37Speaker 1: The girl says, yeah, I mean Sato Kun's pretty hot,
- 48:41Speaker 1: you know, yeah, he has lots of secret fans, but
- 48:45Speaker 1: he seems so unapproachable. The kid says, oh oo, Yama.
- 48:50Speaker 1: He points to the door and we see mafu you
- 48:52Speaker 1: kind of leaning into the classroom, and the kid continues, look,
- 48:55Speaker 1: it's Suzuki san Oua. Yama starts to get up and
- 48:59Speaker 1: the girl says it's Sato kun cheese. Oyama's like, sorry,
- 49:04Speaker 1: see you guys later, and he walks away. The kids
- 49:06Speaker 1: like all right. The girl stares at him as he leaves.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Next we are panning down from the top of the
- 49:12Speaker 1: stairwell again as we love to do, and we hear
- 49:15Speaker 1: uyin Oyama say, from top to bottom and then you
- 49:19Speaker 1: go back up again. Mafu U strums down and then
- 49:23Speaker 1: up or maybe a string. I can't tell what's happening.
- 49:27Speaker 1: He's definitely strumming two different notes, so it's not a chord.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Maybe he's, you know, doing a like a scale or something.
- 49:36Speaker 1: I really don't know because we just hear these two notes,
- 49:39Speaker 1: and Oui Oyama's like, right, you do that over and
- 49:42Speaker 1: over and then it sounds like this, and he starts
- 49:44Speaker 1: playing this really complicated melody for some reason, and he
- 49:47Speaker 1: thinks Sato's a much faster learner than I thought he'd be.
- 49:50Speaker 1: We see him like telling him things, and Mafu us
- 49:53Speaker 1: like strumming and stuff, but we can't hear any of it.
- 49:55Speaker 1: He continues to think, despite not knowing the first thing
- 49:57Speaker 1: about it. He must have a good years. He's sort
- 50:00Speaker 1: of nice watching someone grow, But he's still a mystery
- 50:03Speaker 1: to me. I'm not sure why he's so interested in
- 50:05Speaker 1: music either, because people are I don't know what you want,
- 50:08Speaker 1: and his guitar isn't the kind you usually see a beginner,
- 50:11Speaker 1: much less a high school student owning. Why would a
- 50:14Speaker 1: complete amateur have such a classy model? For real? Though?
- 50:18Speaker 1: How much did it even cost? Thirty five hundred dollars?
- 50:21Speaker 1: And then, out loud, he says, hey, Mafuu turns to him.
- 50:25Speaker 1: He had been like flexing his hand, like maybe his
- 50:27Speaker 1: fingers hurt from the strings and stuff, and oua Yama continues,
- 50:31Speaker 1: did you get this guitar from your dad or something?
- 50:34Speaker 1: Mafoou blinks, looks down and shakes his head, and then
- 50:38Speaker 1: he says, no, I don't have a dad. Oh god,
- 50:42Speaker 1: ou weio Yama's like, huh oh sorry, He puts his
- 50:45Speaker 1: hand over his mouth. Uh. In that case, what kind
- 50:48Speaker 1: of music do you like? Do you have a favorite song?
- 50:51Speaker 1: You must have at least one? Mafuu says absolutely nothing,
- 50:56Speaker 1: and ou know Yama just waits. Mafuu is just silent,
- 51:00Speaker 1: and Oui no Yama starts to look really annoyed, and
- 51:02Speaker 1: he thinks, am I getting through to him? Mafu You
- 51:05Speaker 1: finally says, I don't know. O no Yama slumps over
- 51:08Speaker 1: and thinks, damn it. Mafu You says, I'm not sure
- 51:12Speaker 1: if it's when I actually like, but there's a song
- 51:15Speaker 1: that plays in my head all the time. Oi no
- 51:18Speaker 1: Yama thinks, you fucking whack job? Really why? And then
- 51:23Speaker 1: out loud, he says, what's it called? Mafu's like, I
- 51:27Speaker 1: don't know the name, oh, but it sounds like this.
- 51:32Speaker 1: He takes a deep breath and then he sings. Now,
- 51:37Speaker 1: obviously I can't sing what he sang. You will just
- 51:40Speaker 1: have to imagine that it was the most beautiful thing
- 51:43Speaker 1: you ever heard, because it was the most beautiful thing
- 51:47Speaker 1: that Uei no Yama ever heard. I think his eyes
- 51:51Speaker 1: widen and as Mafu You is singing, the stairwell just
- 51:56Speaker 1: gets really bright and like orb and stuff. Mafu You
- 52:01Speaker 1: stops and he takes a breath and the atmosphere returns
- 52:04Speaker 1: to normal, and he says, it sounds like that. A
- 52:09Speaker 1: bead of sweat runs down uo Yama's face and he
- 52:12Speaker 1: kind of slumps over again, and Mafu You gasps because
- 52:16Speaker 1: that's a weird reaction. We hear uino Yama's heart beating
- 52:19Speaker 1: loudly and he's blushing and his eyes are wide as
- 52:22Speaker 1: he's like basically facing the ground, slumped over, and he thinks,
- 52:26Speaker 1: what the fuck was that? Go to black and kind
- 52:31Speaker 1: of a light pulses at the bottom of the screen,
- 52:33Speaker 1: like with his heart beat, and he thinks it was
- 52:37Speaker 1: almost like we're back to the stairwell and he's still
- 52:40Speaker 1: slumped over, and Mafu's like, Unayama kun uino Yama straightens
- 52:45Speaker 1: up really quickly and he takes a really fast breath,
- 52:47Speaker 1: and Mafu You looks kind of confused and maybe a
- 52:50Speaker 1: little frightened, and he gulps, and uino Yama says, hey,
- 52:55Speaker 1: he's quiet for a second. Do you want to join
- 52:58Speaker 1: our band? Fuck? We go to the title card like
- 53:01Speaker 1: someone in Love, and then we go the ending theme
- 53:04Speaker 1: and there's like a little preview and that's it. Yeah.
- 53:07Speaker 1: So closing thoughts, that was a lot for me. I
- 53:11Speaker 1: feel like there's a lot of things that I didn't
- 53:12Speaker 1: cover that are really important. So the first thing I
- 53:14Speaker 1: wanted to say is, uh, there's this thing what Mafu
- 53:18Speaker 1: was doing. When he responds, he's just saying like hmmm
- 53:21Speaker 1: basically to everything, and sometimes the translation has it as yeah,
- 53:26Speaker 1: and sometimes it has it as okay, sometimes it has
- 53:28Speaker 1: it as kay. It like can't make up its mind.
- 53:31Speaker 1: And I remember I watched a little bit of the
- 53:34Speaker 1: Dub and then Dub they just have him say kay
- 53:36Speaker 1: all the time, which whatever, so when he's saying yeah
- 53:41Speaker 1: or okay, okay, it's always just like hmm, like he's
- 53:44Speaker 1: just you know, expressing acknowledgment. But they didn't know how
- 53:47Speaker 1: to translate it anyway, So we got that going on.
- 53:51Speaker 1: I also just wanted to point out that sometimes teenagers
- 53:54Speaker 1: do have thirty five hundred dollars guitars, you know, or
- 53:58Speaker 1: at least unexperienced musicians sometimes have really expensive guitars cause
- 54:02Speaker 1: you know, they figure maybe they're gonna be really good
- 54:04Speaker 1: one day, so why not get the best guitar right now?
- 54:07Speaker 1: I mean, if you have money, go for it. As
- 54:10Speaker 1: they said earlier in the episode, actually doesn't matter what
- 54:13Speaker 1: kind of guitar you have to an extent, as long
- 54:15Speaker 1: as you can play. That's really all that matters in
- 54:18Speaker 1: my opinion. So we got that going on, and I
- 54:21Speaker 1: guess Uainoyama is now just enamored with Mafuju's voice, which
- 54:26Speaker 1: was very nice, honestly, and there was a lot of
- 54:29Speaker 1: nice kind of weaver from the hallway in there. It
- 54:32Speaker 1: sounded really good. But I guess my main takeaway from
- 54:34Speaker 1: this episode is like, does anybody know about music? Who
- 54:39Speaker 1: is writing this show at all? I definitely said in
- 54:44Speaker 1: the first episode or in the lead up to it,
- 54:47Speaker 1: I can't remember that. I thought that this was a
- 54:50Speaker 1: really good look at what it's like to be the band,
- 54:53Speaker 1: And honestly, I'm thinking, maybe it's not that great. Maybe
- 54:56Speaker 1: I fucked up and I didn't remember this correctly. So
- 54:59Speaker 1: we're gonna see. We're gonna see if they can change
- 55:01Speaker 1: my mind, because right now I'm like, I like the story,
- 55:04Speaker 1: but like we couldn't even show a competent look in
- 55:07Speaker 1: a chord huh, So not sure what the disconnect there is. Also,
- 55:11Speaker 1: it's just really interesting, So I read kind of up
- 55:15Speaker 1: to where we are in the manga, and unless some
- 55:19Speaker 1: of the scenes have moved, which they might have til
- 55:22Speaker 1: later on. There's just so much anime original stuff, just
- 55:26Speaker 1: tons of it, like ouh, we know Yama telling Mafuyu too,
- 55:31Speaker 1: you know, plug in the chord in the wrong order,
- 55:33Speaker 1: or stuff like that's not in there at all. A
- 55:36Speaker 1: lot of the things where oh, we know Yama is
- 55:38Speaker 1: like thinking about, like how he's gonna teach him how
- 55:40Speaker 1: to play guitar, that's not in there at all. We
- 55:42Speaker 1: like don't see any of him actually trying to teach him,
- 55:46Speaker 1: which might be because the Mangaa really didn't know much
- 55:49Speaker 1: about guitar, which you know, it happens. You don't have
- 55:52Speaker 1: to know about guitar to write a manga about guitar,
- 55:54Speaker 1: but it does help. So yeah, it's it's interesting to me,
- 55:59Speaker 1: and yeah, yeah, I'm I'm surprised. And also I feel
- 56:02Speaker 1: like Mafulu is coming off significantly more ditsy in the
- 56:06Speaker 1: anime than he does in the manga, like buy a lot,
- 56:09Speaker 1: and I think that's going to start to lessen as
- 56:12Speaker 1: we go, but right now I feel like there's a
- 56:15Speaker 1: pretty stark difference Mafulu in the manga just feels very quiet.
- 56:19Speaker 1: But yeah, in the anime with like him just kind
- 56:21Speaker 1: of like strumming and strumming even when unoiam is telling
- 56:24Speaker 1: him to stop. Eh, I don't feel like his characterization
- 56:28Speaker 1: is exactly what I'd want to see based on the manga.
- 56:31Speaker 1: So those are my stupid opinions, and unlike some things
- 56:35Speaker 1: where I've read the manga, and I feel like my
- 56:37Speaker 1: manga opinions are really solid. With this not so much.
- 56:40Speaker 1: So I could be wrong about all of this stuff.
- 56:42Speaker 1: You could just hate me. I would understand. But also
- 56:46Speaker 1: it's fun to think about in the manga that there
- 56:49Speaker 1: was no you know, plan for what music type it is,
- 56:52Speaker 1: so really we should all just imagine that it is
- 56:55Speaker 1: new metal, because it should be. It would be so
- 56:58Speaker 1: fucking cool if like Mafuu is just sitting in the
- 57:01Speaker 1: hallway belting like new metal style lyrics and uino Yama's
- 57:06Speaker 1: like this kid is fucking awesome and they're just playing
- 57:09Speaker 1: this like crazy new metal shit when they get together
- 57:13Speaker 1: and mafuu is just starstruck by it, I would love that.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I would love that. I feel like I want to
- 57:19Speaker 1: redub the show so that they're playing new metal. I
- 57:21Speaker 1: don't know, but yes, that is something I've been thinking about. Anyway,
- 57:26Speaker 1: I think that's pretty much it. Mafu is probably gonna
- 57:28Speaker 1: join the band, I would assume, and we're gonna see
- 57:30Speaker 1: where this goes from there, I'm sure places, and maybe
- 57:34Speaker 1: Mafu You will get a job or something. I don't know.
- 57:38Speaker 1: Oh right, And Uinoyama was like super weirded out by
- 57:41Speaker 1: Mafu You saying that there was a song that played
- 57:43Speaker 1: in his head all the time, which I thought was
- 57:45Speaker 1: super weird because that's audiation. And I know some people
- 57:48Speaker 1: don't have audiation where like they don't hear music in
- 57:52Speaker 1: their head all the time. So I guess uino Yama
- 57:55Speaker 1: is just one of those people. But plenty of us,
- 57:58Speaker 1: myself included, pretty much always hear a song in our
- 58:00Speaker 1: head all of the time. So yeah, I guess I'm weird. Anyway,
- 58:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna go. It still hasn't started actually freezing raining
- 58:09Speaker 1: yet or icing or whatever we're doing. We're still sleeting.
- 58:13Speaker 1: It's been sleeting forever, like forever and ever. So I'm
- 58:16Speaker 1: gonna go see what the outside looks like and pray,
- 58:19Speaker 1: not really because I'm not religious, that we don't lose power,
- 58:23Speaker 1: and I hope you didn't lose power, and yeah, I
- 58:27Speaker 1: hope you have a really good whatever, and I hope
- 58:30Speaker 1: that you were okay with the way I'm doing this
- 58:33Speaker 1: with like intermixing guitar because I'm not sure if I am,
- 58:37Speaker 1: and uh, yeah, I will see you next time unless
- 58:42Speaker 1: I don't have power for a week later. Weeps.
