- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whistle Cucking Basketball
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they all wear a whist So, yeah, it's fad,
- 0:11Speaker 1: But why didn't you expect it's a podcast called Whistles?
- 0:22Speaker 1: What everybody? Eddie? Do you want me to blow you out?
- 0:25Speaker 1: Blow me in? Thank you very much. Let's go kick off? Kevin,
- 0:29Speaker 1: Mike de and Coleman. Everybody good? Yeah, dude, I'm just
- 0:32Speaker 1: always interested in Coleman? Where's that? Where are you today? Coleman?
- 0:36Speaker 1: I am in Branson, Missouri? Are you there for in Vegas? There?
- 0:40Speaker 1: Are you're there for the shows? Are you there to
- 0:41Speaker 1: watch a basketball game? No? Tuesday, there's a game in Springfield,
- 0:46Speaker 1: Missouri State hosting Murray State. I was just in Carbondale,
- 0:50Speaker 1: Illinois Sunday for Bradley went to Southern Illinois. So Branson
- 0:55Speaker 1: was a good stopping point for my wife and I
- 0:57Speaker 1: didn't go home. He just why does she feel about
- 0:59Speaker 1: stay in a hotel for a couple of days and
- 1:01Speaker 1: like random parts of America? I think she feels good.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I mean, we love Brent and his kids. We've grown
- 1:06Speaker 1: up going here with their families and stuff. So this
- 1:08Speaker 1: is honestly an awesome vacation for a couple of days.
- 1:11Speaker 1: But I did go home and see my brother's basketball
- 1:13Speaker 1: game on Friday, so I guess, not home to Oklahoma City,
- 1:16Speaker 1: but home to my family. How do you do? Good?
- 1:19Speaker 1: They won by thirty. I had him handicapped his two
- 1:21Speaker 1: and a half point dogs, so I did not expect
- 1:24Speaker 1: that performance. They won by thirty. That's how I know.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Coleman is watching his brother play basketball on on like
- 1:30Speaker 1: whate for Gibson Vision or whatever that is. However, they
- 1:33Speaker 1: uh and you almost want some money because of Coleman, Kevin,
- 1:36Speaker 1: that happened. I did. Coleman almost texted you on Saturday
- 1:38Speaker 1: because I was on the brink of winning seventy dollars
- 1:42Speaker 1: because they use the the your your picks on Saturday
- 1:45Speaker 1: that you post on Twitter. You posted what at least
- 1:48Speaker 1: ten of them, wasn't there? Yeah? I think I had
- 1:50Speaker 1: six team a bunch of them. So I was like,
- 1:52Speaker 1: you know what, I'm gonna pick four of them and
- 1:55Speaker 1: I don't really know any rhyme or reason other than
- 1:57Speaker 1: the one and that one did not hit the oral Robert,
- 2:00Speaker 1: did you parlay them? Or did you parlaid them? So
- 2:02Speaker 1: I put five dollars on you. T Martin money line,
- 2:05Speaker 1: dude hit Duke minus one, hit Sam Houston minus two
- 2:10Speaker 1: and a half, hitt Oral Roberts minus thirteen and a half.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I picked that one because you were there. I was like,
- 2:15Speaker 1: he's gonna be and it didn't happen. But it was
- 2:18Speaker 1: so close. No, they got up eighteen right off the
- 2:22Speaker 1: bat in the first half, and then the next fifteen
- 2:25Speaker 1: minutes they couldn't throw it in the ocean. It was
- 2:27Speaker 1: extremely frustrating to watch. I'm sorry you missed your parlay
- 2:30Speaker 1: because of it. No, it's all right, man, I was
- 2:31Speaker 1: so close Hill invoice. You don't already by the way,
- 2:35Speaker 1: coming up all later. Coleman interviews coach Ryan Ritter. At you,
- 2:37Speaker 1: t Martin, So you were here from that um, and
- 2:40Speaker 1: did you watching the XFL? No? I saw it on,
- 2:43Speaker 1: but I'm not I'm not what I'm not a fan
- 2:45Speaker 1: of the XFL. I flipped it over. I saw the
- 2:47Speaker 1: rock talking. I saw that too, and so then I
- 2:50Speaker 1: watched a little bit of it. But then after the
- 2:52Speaker 1: game is when I kind of caught up on what
- 2:53Speaker 1: had happened. Now I'm gonna mess up the teams because
- 2:56Speaker 1: I think St. Louis and Vegas were playing each other.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I saw Houston. It could have been the same game,
- 3:02Speaker 1: not sure so, but what it happened was they were
- 3:08Speaker 1: down by like fifteen points in the fourth and they
- 3:12Speaker 1: score a touchdown and then they scored a three point
- 3:15Speaker 1: conversion from ten yards out. Because you have a one point,
- 3:18Speaker 1: there's no kicking extra points, I don't believe. So there's
- 3:22Speaker 1: a one point which is like two or three yards,
- 3:25Speaker 1: there's a two point at like five Kevin, tell me
- 3:27Speaker 1: if I'm wrong on this at five yards. There's a
- 3:29Speaker 1: three point at ten yards, and I think that max
- 3:32Speaker 1: is out at three, right, So they went four and
- 3:34Speaker 1: they got the three point conversion. Then you don't on
- 3:37Speaker 1: side kick. What you do is you get one play.
- 3:40Speaker 1: It's basically fourth and fifteen to keep possession, and if
- 3:43Speaker 1: you are able to convert a fifteen yard play, you
- 3:47Speaker 1: get the ball back. Then they got the ball back,
- 3:49Speaker 1: they converted it on the sideline, and they don't winning
- 3:52Speaker 1: that game. Yeah, they went down and scored the game.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So it's kind of cool that there were all of
- 3:58Speaker 1: these possibilities, meaning one, two, or three, we're not kicking
- 4:02Speaker 1: on that kick, which it does never work. How once
- 4:05Speaker 1: that kicks never work unless it's like a surprise one
- 4:08Speaker 1: coming out. You hardly ever see an onside kick that
- 4:12Speaker 1: actually turns into wow, thirty two seconds left. They need
- 4:16Speaker 1: this to work. That never works out. So the XFL
- 4:19Speaker 1: it did. It's pretty cool. It was awesome. And did
- 4:21Speaker 1: you see his Ricky Prole's kid and he's remember Ricky Prole,
- 4:24Speaker 1: the Rams wide receiver from the Greatest Show on Turf
- 4:28Speaker 1: And then his kid was the one that caught in
- 4:30Speaker 1: his dad coaching. They're a hugging on the sideline when
- 4:32Speaker 1: he wanted. I thought it was cool. Yeah, I don't
- 4:33Speaker 1: know who any of those guys are, Like, um A
- 4:37Speaker 1: J McCarron, I think was a quarterback from Alabama. Remember
- 4:41Speaker 1: I think Mussburgers like can look at his hot wife.
- 4:44Speaker 1: They later like I saw him Josh Gordon played it
- 4:51Speaker 1: had like almost eight yard receiving. I mean yeah, I
- 4:55Speaker 1: thought he was done well. He had so many we charges,
- 4:57Speaker 1: I mean I got charged. But like instances in the NFL, Yeah, Cowboys,
- 5:01Speaker 1: Benda Nucci good keep him there. So I thought it
- 5:06Speaker 1: was interesting. And how that game listen if they do,
- 5:09Speaker 1: if a bunch of games happen like this and they
- 5:10Speaker 1: keep showing highlights when I'm like, oh, that's cool. I
- 5:12Speaker 1: might have to wait in and watch a whole game,
- 5:15Speaker 1: but right now, no, again, they've tried this before, didn't work.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It didn't work again USFL. None of the stuff is
- 5:21Speaker 1: interesting to me, but it can be if they can
- 5:24Speaker 1: prove that the products actually kind of exciting to watch.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And the Rock is like the like the part owner,
- 5:29Speaker 1: part owner and face of the XFL. He is, so,
- 5:32Speaker 1: here's the overtime to make it work. He needs what
- 5:36Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah, he seems adamant to make it work.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I think so too. I think some of his reputation
- 5:40Speaker 1: is I think if it works, it's great for him,
- 5:44Speaker 1: and if it doesn't, maybe it's a little bit embarrassing.
- 5:47Speaker 1: But the Rock can't make the XFL work by himself,
- 5:50Speaker 1: but it does get eyeballs on it. I gotta watched
- 5:52Speaker 1: the Rock talk to them and go, hey, look, people
- 5:54Speaker 1: counted you out. This is your this is the last
- 5:56Speaker 1: chance to make it happen, like, do it here. But
- 5:59Speaker 1: they're also a hiding from the fact that if you
- 6:01Speaker 1: do well here, maybe you get a shot in the NFL.
- 6:03Speaker 1: They're openly going, we want to be the kind of
- 6:05Speaker 1: the minor leagues for the NFL, which is probably the
- 6:07Speaker 1: way to do it instead of just compete. And if
- 6:10Speaker 1: you do have thoughts of competing with the NFL, you
- 6:12Speaker 1: can't say it initially because your players aren't going to
- 6:14Speaker 1: be as good. You can develop it out and then
- 6:17Speaker 1: maybe try to turn it into something. But I don't
- 6:19Speaker 1: think that's the goal. But here's some rules XFL overtime.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Rather than play a full extra period, each team gets
- 6:24Speaker 1: three attempts at a two point conversion from their five.
- 6:27Speaker 1: The team with the most conversions after those three attempts
- 6:29Speaker 1: as the winner. So you get three shots at it.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Let's say you get three and they get too, well,
- 6:33Speaker 1: you win. If the score remains tied, then they'll do
- 6:37Speaker 1: single possessions. I like that. That sounds the extra point.
- 6:42Speaker 1: There are no extra points a one point tries attempted
- 6:45Speaker 1: from the five, which we talked about a minute ago.
- 6:47Speaker 1: The kickoff, they try to make sure that they're a
- 6:50Speaker 1: kickoff returns, Like that's the goal. I like that kick off.
- 6:54Speaker 1: What part of it. They're lined up five yards apart,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and as soon as the guy catched it and he
- 6:58Speaker 1: actually returns it, it's of Now you just get touchbacks
- 7:01Speaker 1: all the time. And then they just go out and
- 7:02Speaker 1: it's just chaos right there in front of the guy
- 7:04Speaker 1: that's carrying the ball. So the two guys are the
- 7:08Speaker 1: kicking team in the blockers of the right, not by
- 7:11Speaker 1: each other. They just can't hit each other until the
- 7:13Speaker 1: guy catches the ball. So what it does is it
- 7:16Speaker 1: encourages because their space, it encourages them to return of
- 7:20Speaker 1: the ball. Uh, let's see on site kick. We talked
- 7:23Speaker 1: about that XFL replay. The XFL will use a centralized
- 7:26Speaker 1: replay system. They will be subject to review. Does that
- 7:30Speaker 1: mean they're just going up into like New York. Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 1: They had Dean Blandino. They and they even put him
- 7:35Speaker 1: on the TV as he's talking the refs through it. Okay,
- 7:37Speaker 1: we see this, we see this. Okay, we're gonna call
- 7:39Speaker 1: it a catch. Here's why. Here's the yardage. Blah blah blah.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Good for him, you're you're round. Job. That's a pretty
- 7:45Speaker 1: sweet joy. Pretty So the XFL big win, I would
- 7:49Speaker 1: say over the weekend, because we're even talking about it
- 7:51Speaker 1: and it was interesting enough to go, Huh, this usually
- 7:54Speaker 1: sucks and it only kind of sucks, and there's a
- 7:56Speaker 1: chance maybe it doesn't suck all the way anymore. They
- 7:58Speaker 1: got to keep those camera zoomed in, though, and they
- 8:00Speaker 1: go for the wide shot. It looks really depressing. What
- 8:02Speaker 1: do you mean there's no one up that pass? Yeah,
- 8:05Speaker 1: when I saw the rock talking there, but it's only
- 8:07Speaker 1: like five rows behind him. But you know what, it's okay,
- 8:10Speaker 1: you gotta start somewhere. I get it. Yeah, absolutely, I
- 8:12Speaker 1: get it. Um. A couple of things I made notes
- 8:16Speaker 1: about I was watching the golf tournament this weekend was
- 8:19Speaker 1: the Genesis. The Genesis where we were like, well, Tiger
- 8:21Speaker 1: make the cut. Tiger played his Day one was awesome,
- 8:24Speaker 1: Day two not so much. Um, but well, he missed
- 8:27Speaker 1: the cut, and then everyone played so bad in the
- 8:29Speaker 1: afternoon that they moved the cut line and he made it.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And I was like, dang it, here I am on
- 8:34Speaker 1: the podcast, ain't gonna miss it now that dude made it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I don't think anyone expected because the last three holes
- 8:38Speaker 1: on the Thursday, I think he birdie, birdie, birdie, which
- 8:41Speaker 1: put him in a good spot. Everybody gets so excited
- 8:43Speaker 1: about two. It's fun to watch. Yeah, it's like, let's
- 8:46Speaker 1: let Tiger. I mean, I'd like to see him one
- 8:47Speaker 1: of the major two. That would be cool too, That
- 8:50Speaker 1: would be cool I just don't know he's got it
- 8:52Speaker 1: in him. Well, if Phil Mickelson can randomly win one
- 8:54Speaker 1: at fifty years old, but he's healthy, I hear you.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But I think Tiger can probably get healthy ish and
- 9:00Speaker 1: fluke one out. I don't think he's gonna win two
- 9:02Speaker 1: a year. When we were at Pebble Bones, you remember
- 9:04Speaker 1: us walking and after the round and just walking and
- 9:07Speaker 1: I was carrying the clubs. You weren't. We were both
- 9:09Speaker 1: just like, I'm exhausted man, Like they wanted to go
- 9:11Speaker 1: to dinner one night, and we're like, I don't know,
- 9:13Speaker 1: I want to go to dinner. I'm tired. But to
- 9:14Speaker 1: be fair, I did carry the clubs the fourth day
- 9:18Speaker 1: we played and then but day three neither one of
- 9:21Speaker 1: us carry the club We had a caddy carrying your
- 9:23Speaker 1: clubs too, but we offered to carry. We're all tired
- 9:26Speaker 1: every day. So still for Tiger to do that, you know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: like four rounds in a row, that's just tough on
- 9:32Speaker 1: someone that's like I got a really messed up leg.
- 9:35Speaker 1: What I liked about that tournament, though, was more Cowa.
- 9:37Speaker 1: He had an air pod in and he was commentating
- 9:40Speaker 1: for like an hour as he was playing. Did you
- 9:43Speaker 1: watch it, do you see anything that? So he had
- 9:45Speaker 1: he had one of the just in one ear and
- 9:47Speaker 1: he driving like, oh yeah, but the announcer we're talking
- 9:50Speaker 1: with him. It was like you know when they go
- 9:53Speaker 1: between like the fourth inning and they'll go down now
- 9:55Speaker 1: and yeah, the manager like the second though, us send
- 10:00Speaker 1: him on a third double squeeze. But they were doing
- 10:02Speaker 1: that more called the whole time, and so for like
- 10:04Speaker 1: I don't know how long it lasted. I saw him
- 10:06Speaker 1: for like three holes talking the whole time, and it
- 10:08Speaker 1: was like, you know, I think I'm gonna use a
- 10:10Speaker 1: hybrid here too, because right off the green instead of
- 10:12Speaker 1: a putter, and it's like super interesting. The audio quality
- 10:17Speaker 1: wasn't the best. It was almost like coming here with
- 10:19Speaker 1: this computer, we're trying to get a mic working for
- 10:21Speaker 1: like three days. So bones, so is this like I mean,
- 10:25Speaker 1: obviously when Live came around, p GA was like, oh,
- 10:28Speaker 1: we gotta change things up a little bit. You think
- 10:30Speaker 1: that's like a product of something where they're like, we
- 10:31Speaker 1: gotta Well what I said initially was lives awesome because
- 10:34Speaker 1: it's gonna make the p g A have to be
- 10:36Speaker 1: better of fire. It's going to They had no competition
- 10:39Speaker 1: and until you have competition, why you've been competing that
- 10:42Speaker 1: hard you're winning. Even if you think you're working hard,
- 10:45Speaker 1: you're probably not working as hard as you would be
- 10:46Speaker 1: if someone was pressing. Yeah, and that's what's happening now.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Live just signed a TV deal also with like CW
- 10:52Speaker 1: or one of those fat it sure, I mean it's nowhere.
- 10:57Speaker 1: We haven't been able to watch talk it's all. I
- 10:58Speaker 1: mean I watched it on TikTok. Some you watch like
- 11:00Speaker 1: Bryce Bryson yell at someone. But I thought that they
- 11:07Speaker 1: had him, uh just talking with the announcers the whole time.
- 11:11Speaker 1: And then also he would do it because you know,
- 11:12Speaker 1: those guys get into the rhythms and they probably want
- 11:15Speaker 1: to focus in between shots. And but he was just
- 11:19Speaker 1: he was just cool. And he was like in third
- 11:21Speaker 1: place while it was happening. It wasn't like he was
- 11:22Speaker 1: way out of it. I don't think he ended up
- 11:24Speaker 1: winning the tournament. I didn't even watch John Romdd. I
- 11:27Speaker 1: didn't even watch the end of it. I was too
- 11:28Speaker 1: busy not watching the XTFL watch that. Do you have
- 11:31Speaker 1: an announcement here a the first time we've said anything
- 11:33Speaker 1: about this. But next week on Thursday and Friday. Not
- 11:36Speaker 1: this week, but next week on Thursday and Friday, I'll
- 11:39Speaker 1: be filling in for Rich Eisen on Rich Eisen's West
- 11:44Speaker 1: National radio show and TV show, and I'll get all
- 11:47Speaker 1: the details about where you can watch if you want
- 11:49Speaker 1: to watch. But I am I'm super excited. Don't get
- 11:51Speaker 1: excited about much anymore. I feel a bit jaded because
- 11:53Speaker 1: they realized most of the stuff he thinks cool really
- 11:55Speaker 1: isn't that cool. But I'm super This is super cool
- 11:57Speaker 1: to me to be invited to go do that, and
- 12:00Speaker 1: so I'm gonna go try not to screw it up.
- 12:02Speaker 1: So Miked and I are gonna fly over to California
- 12:05Speaker 1: probably Wednesday afternoon to the morning show in l A.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And then I'll just go right over and do Rich
- 12:10Speaker 1: Eyes and show on Thursday and Friday, which I think
- 12:13Speaker 1: he's at the Combine, so that's why he's not in studio, right, Mike,
- 12:18Speaker 1: have you talked to those guys at all? Yeah? We connected.
- 12:20Speaker 1: How do you feel? I feel good about You're not
- 12:22Speaker 1: gonna leave us too next? Are you? After it ends
- 12:26Speaker 1: up being Coleman and kick off Kevin Show. You can't
- 12:30Speaker 1: lose any more people. So I'm very excited. Don't know
- 12:34Speaker 1: much about it except they're like, do you can do
- 12:36Speaker 1: whatever you want, like come in, it's everybody riches leaving,
- 12:39Speaker 1: but it's whole his whole staff there. And I listen
- 12:41Speaker 1: to Rich on podcast. He's one of the I'm gonna
- 12:43Speaker 1: scart like five or six podcasts. So I'm pumped because
- 12:49Speaker 1: it's really neat to me and I can't believe they're
- 12:51Speaker 1: just giving me the rains. That's awesome. And they were like, hey,
- 12:53Speaker 1: we'll pay you, and I was like, don't don't pay
- 12:56Speaker 1: me because if we're gonna pay me, like, excuse me,
- 12:59Speaker 1: how don't say no to that? Because just to get
- 13:01Speaker 1: to do it's cool. So this is what we did.
- 13:03Speaker 1: They were gonna pay me like four grand a day
- 13:05Speaker 1: to go and do those shows and it's awesome. And
- 13:07Speaker 1: I just said, donated to the animals shelter here that
- 13:09Speaker 1: we work with the town, and Rich is like, awesome,
- 13:12Speaker 1: no problem thing, what I mean, dude, that's nice, and
- 13:15Speaker 1: I was sweet and then it's awesome the shelters. That's
- 13:17Speaker 1: great for them, But that's four grand a day a day,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I'm saying, and then taxes. But the point is I
- 13:27Speaker 1: just wanted to know, is any about the money. Don't
- 13:29Speaker 1: it to the animals. I don't need the money. That's
- 13:31Speaker 1: a good move too. Yeah, it's not a good move.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I don't need the money. I'm doing pretty good. So
- 13:35Speaker 1: it's like, donate that to the animals, and maybe later
- 13:38Speaker 1: if if I come back and do it again, then
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know, I probably I'm getting honest selfish anymore. So
- 13:45Speaker 1: I'm yeah, I'm super excited about that. Hopefully I don't
- 13:47Speaker 1: screw it up. Did you watch Coleman? I know, because
- 13:50Speaker 1: you're on the road, traveled all these games. Did you
- 13:52Speaker 1: watch any of or any basketball at all that wasn't
- 13:55Speaker 1: a game that you were driving to or talking about.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I wasn't able to watch a ton this weekend, but
- 14:00Speaker 1: definitely able to tune in on scores. UM thought, you know,
- 14:04Speaker 1: Tennessee see after the big win at Bama then or
- 14:08Speaker 1: against Bama, then to for that offense to look so
- 14:11Speaker 1: poor against Kentucky. Kentucky got a much needed win. Kansas
- 14:15Speaker 1: and Baylor UM Baylor out to that thirteen point lead
- 14:18Speaker 1: at halftime to then get dominated give up fifty five
- 14:21Speaker 1: second half points Kansas to come back and win by
- 14:23Speaker 1: double figures. Those were a couple that stuck out to me,
- 14:26Speaker 1: how about you. I watched the Alabama Tennessee game. I
- 14:28Speaker 1: lost a lot of money on it because at the
- 14:29Speaker 1: beginning of the game Kentucky Tennessee. No, not Kentucky Tennessee.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I watched Alabama. Was that the Thursday? Hold on, let
- 14:39Speaker 1: me just look at it. Let me just look at
- 14:40Speaker 1: how much money you're gonna go back to Wednesday? I
- 14:42Speaker 1: think it was Wednesday. Hold on, No, it's I maybe
- 14:45Speaker 1: saying the wrong games. Lets look at drive kings here.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Let me talk this whole music as a pull up
- 14:50Speaker 1: my account, I give my face, I d okay boom,
- 14:55Speaker 1: I'm thinking of Kentucky Tennessee Saturday. Yeah. Anyway, So at
- 14:59Speaker 1: the and he had left over from a Super Bowl
- 15:01Speaker 1: because I took it and put it on the county,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and I had like six hundred bucks of like play money,
- 15:05Speaker 1: and I was like, I'm taking the play money Tennessee
- 15:07Speaker 1: plus one and a half. And I was like, there's
- 15:09Speaker 1: no way they lose this to Kentucky. Arkansas whooped Kentucky
- 15:14Speaker 1: and Tennessee. I've been playing lights out, lights out man,
- 15:18Speaker 1: the Kobe, that's Kobe. How don't you changed his name
- 15:20Speaker 1: every year? Howady says it and so, but they ended
- 15:23Speaker 1: up getting they It was never. I never thought I
- 15:26Speaker 1: was gonna win the money. I lost it from the beginning.
- 15:27Speaker 1: It was stupid, stupid game I ever seen in my life.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I thought that was free money. I loaded up plus
- 15:32Speaker 1: one and I went again at like plus nine. I'm like,
- 15:34Speaker 1: this is this is plus nine Tennessee. Oh never, Yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 1: I can't tell you to do that one, buddy, No,
- 15:42Speaker 1: no you didn't. It was all me. It's a typical Tennessee.
- 15:45Speaker 1: When you look up in oak Tennessee lost. Let me guess,
- 15:48Speaker 1: did they score in the fifties? Oh yeah, that's right,
- 15:50Speaker 1: just when when they struggled to score. Um that they
- 15:54Speaker 1: lose a lot of basketball games. And that's the case
- 15:56Speaker 1: I did. Okay, so here here we go. Oh it's
- 15:59Speaker 1: more than I said. It was like eight hundred bucks.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he um yeah. So here was the actual
- 16:07Speaker 1: bet I saw. I was. I was a little bit wrong.
- 16:08Speaker 1: It was Tennessee minus one and a half when it
- 16:10Speaker 1: went off, and I thought, well, that's easy money. And
- 16:13Speaker 1: they were in Kentucky, but Arkansas to to Kentucky and
- 16:15Speaker 1: we crushed them. It was a nine o'clock game. Althought, okay,
- 16:17Speaker 1: this Hey, what what is Vegas note? Idiots? Yeah, I
- 16:21Speaker 1: lost my butt. It was sixty four eight hundred bucks
- 16:25Speaker 1: on that one. But now I'm out of money pretty much.
- 16:27Speaker 1: That I because I took seventy hundred that I won
- 16:29Speaker 1: from the Super Bowl put on my account, and then
- 16:32Speaker 1: I had like eight hundred in my account a little
- 16:35Speaker 1: fuzzy math here that I won that I was just
- 16:37Speaker 1: gonna use to play with. And now I'm almost out
- 16:39Speaker 1: of that. So I'm almost back to not even because
- 16:44Speaker 1: I took money away. But anyway, Yeah, I have the
- 16:49Speaker 1: Lakers to make the playoffs. I just bet that one.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It went off at plus one eighty, so I bet
- 16:54Speaker 1: a hundred and fifty bucks that wins four twenty If
- 16:57Speaker 1: they make the playoffs, I can cash out right now
- 16:59Speaker 1: for in TWENTI seven. Um, so I'm probably not gonna
- 17:03Speaker 1: do that. You're not a cash out guy. No. I
- 17:05Speaker 1: do have Arkansas win the n C Double A tournament.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I bet fifty bucks to win thousand, but I can
- 17:10Speaker 1: cash out for five dollars right now. So, but I
- 17:14Speaker 1: did watch a lot of that game, going, how is
- 17:17Speaker 1: this real? How is Kentucky winning this game? Whenever I've
- 17:21Speaker 1: watched Kentucky played like six times this year. I think
- 17:23Speaker 1: Kentucky is in a good spot now to make the tournament.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I think Arkansas Kentucky played the last game for both
- 17:28Speaker 1: of us in Arkansas. And I don't know that it's
- 17:31Speaker 1: because Joel and Artid is gonna be on the show
- 17:33Speaker 1: Friday coming up, and I don't know that it's gonna
- 17:35Speaker 1: be down to that one game, but definitely could be
- 17:37Speaker 1: if these teams don't win some of these games they
- 17:39Speaker 1: have to win. I thought after Kentucky lost to Georgia,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I was like, oh man, they are in trouble. But
- 17:44Speaker 1: then to pick up those two wins this week Mississippi
- 17:47Speaker 1: State Tennessee. Massive. I mean crazy that we're talking about
- 17:51Speaker 1: Kentucky needing to get wins to make then ce a tournament,
- 17:54Speaker 1: not being a one or two seed. But that's the
- 17:55Speaker 1: situation we're in. You know, Kevin, you should get in
- 17:58Speaker 1: with us, Coleman too. But we do this. It's not
- 18:02Speaker 1: really a league. Who I love it. I've already been
- 18:04Speaker 1: thinking about it. Well, you didn't respond. I got hit
- 18:06Speaker 1: up by Mike Signs going. Eddie is the only one
- 18:08Speaker 1: who hasn't responded respond to what? Well, let me just
- 18:11Speaker 1: say if I mean, guys, there's different ways to get
- 18:14Speaker 1: a hold of me. Text is a good one, but
- 18:16Speaker 1: you don't think it's I have to send something to
- 18:20Speaker 1: the group chat and then I have to copy and
- 18:21Speaker 1: pass in Eddie as well, which is stupid. Let me answer, guys,
- 18:27Speaker 1: this is amazing, Like I didn't see this email the calcutta. Yeah, calcata,
- 18:33Speaker 1: that's not what's not what's called? Okay, so if he calls,
- 18:36Speaker 1: let me see it. Called me back. But we do
- 18:37Speaker 1: a calcutta. And why I bring it up as Kentucky
- 18:40Speaker 1: lost me a lot of money last year because I
- 18:43Speaker 1: had all the teams go up in the auction them off.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Some teams go for twelve bucks. The number one seeds
- 18:49Speaker 1: are pretty they go pretty expensive. But I bought Kentucky
- 18:52Speaker 1: as a two I think last year, and they lost
- 18:54Speaker 1: like the second round, and I've spent so much money
- 18:56Speaker 1: on them. It just, I mean crushed me. So we
- 18:59Speaker 1: do it again. I think we gonna do it like
- 19:00Speaker 1: the Wednesday after selections on day and we all get
- 19:04Speaker 1: on Zoom and you know, there's not a set amount
- 19:07Speaker 1: of what you have to bring. You can buy no
- 19:08Speaker 1: teams if you want, but you can buy it go
- 19:11Speaker 1: it spins on a Wheelboom boom. Oh well they're a
- 19:15Speaker 1: one seed, all right, Let's the bidding start at twenty bucks.
- 19:17Speaker 1: And sometimes those teams get up pretty expensive, but sometimes
- 19:21Speaker 1: you can get a six or seven and if they
- 19:22Speaker 1: win a couple of games, you make a lot of money.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Let's be real. That's where it's apt for us boys,
- 19:25Speaker 1: like we need to pick the one those those dark horses. Yes,
- 19:30Speaker 1: because that that if you want to number one, get
- 19:32Speaker 1: out of here. You gotta bring a lot of money
- 19:33Speaker 1: to the table. And maybe I can add some help
- 19:35Speaker 1: on the twelve of the sixteen seeds for you all. Well,
- 19:38Speaker 1: here's the deal. You buy the thirteen to sixteen or
- 19:40Speaker 1: maybe twelve to sixteen. Yeah, they're in a group. You
- 19:42Speaker 1: buy them as a group, so there are four groups.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You buy of those, because we don't want to sit
- 19:48Speaker 1: there in auction off every sixteen seed. So you buy
- 19:50Speaker 1: it's other twelve or thirteen up to sixteen. And if
- 19:52Speaker 1: any of them win, which last year that happened And yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 1: I think Matt Stell or somebody who bought that group,
- 19:59Speaker 1: they beat Kentucky. Stupid st Peter's ruined your Kentucky Peter's
- 20:03Speaker 1: so Coleman, if you want to be in Kevin, if
- 20:07Speaker 1: you want to be a might dy, if you want
- 20:08Speaker 1: to be in Mighty's not a big gambler. Yeah, pounds
- 20:11Speaker 1: right up my alley. We'll we'll get it and we'll
- 20:14Speaker 1: auction it up everybody. Eddie, I'm in. I just didn't
- 20:17Speaker 1: see the email. The only person they said didn't respond
- 20:19Speaker 1: was you and Ben Rector that we're busy because its
- 20:22Speaker 1: been was a disneylane with a kid all week. That
- 20:24Speaker 1: doesn't mean you can't respond to a check. Um. Okay,
- 20:28Speaker 1: what I want to do now is I want to
- 20:29Speaker 1: go over to Coleman's interview with Ryan Ritter Uh, the
- 20:32Speaker 1: U T. Martin head coach. Coleman. Where did you do
- 20:34Speaker 1: the interview? I did the interview with just him in
- 20:37Speaker 1: his office at the stadium. Did you feel like they
- 20:39Speaker 1: treated you nice? Was it cool? Everything good? Incredibly well? Yes,
- 20:44Speaker 1: they set me up right at half court press row
- 20:47Speaker 1: um for the game and then took me up to
- 20:50Speaker 1: allow me to talk to him for twenty minutes, about
- 20:52Speaker 1: ten minutes off air and then ten minutes you'll you'll
- 20:55Speaker 1: hear in the interview, but just down to earth, genuine guy,
- 20:59Speaker 1: really enjoyed, even coach Ritter and wished their team nothing
- 21:02Speaker 1: but success. I've seen six of the ten Ohio Valley
- 21:04Speaker 1: Conference teams, and I think with their guard trio, you
- 21:07Speaker 1: T Martin, maybe the best of them. Did they win
- 21:10Speaker 1: the night you were there? Yes, they did, won by six,
- 21:13Speaker 1: but high scoring game, a lot of fun. Is it
- 21:15Speaker 1: one of those things where you were going for a
- 21:17Speaker 1: while everybody was losing when you were going, Oh my gosh,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I went on, Well, not everyone was losing the game outright.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I lost ten straight live covers, consecutive live cover I
- 21:29Speaker 1: mean that's almost mathematically impossible. Curse. Yeah, No, it was
- 21:35Speaker 1: absolutely a thing. What made it the worst was when
- 21:38Speaker 1: I went to Colgate. It was kind of my original
- 21:40Speaker 1: team that I've been following the most. I've gone to
- 21:42Speaker 1: five of their games. They were on a twenty six
- 21:45Speaker 1: game Patriot League winning streak. Up by fourteen in the
- 21:48Speaker 1: second half. Me there, that was the tenth consecutive loss.
- 21:52Speaker 1: They end up blowing that lead in the second half,
- 21:54Speaker 1: and Louise and I was like, I gotta get away
- 21:56Speaker 1: from the teams I love. I'm I'm hurting them too much. Well,
- 21:58Speaker 1: you T. Martin did win so this is all good.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Here's Coleman with with coach Ritter. He breaks the curse here.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Enjoy the interview here with head coach of Tennessee, Martin
- 22:09Speaker 1: Ryan Ritter. Thank you so much, coach for allowing the
- 22:12Speaker 1: time to talk to you today. Um, first off, I
- 22:15Speaker 1: just want to get started in what got you into coaching? Um?
- 22:19Speaker 1: Your did your dad have any influence from that? Yeah? Obviously,
- 22:23Speaker 1: you know, as a young kid, I want to grow,
- 22:24Speaker 1: I want to play in the NBA, played professional basketball
- 22:27Speaker 1: and unfortunately realized, you know, pretty early on, I probably
- 22:31Speaker 1: aren't gonna be able to play for the entirely of
- 22:34Speaker 1: my career. So obviously, you know, wanted to have an
- 22:37Speaker 1: opportunity to impact young people. And Um, growing up in
- 22:39Speaker 1: a coaching household, right, you know, kind of had an
- 22:42Speaker 1: opportunity to see what coaching was all about. And and
- 22:44Speaker 1: not just my dad, but my mom being a teacher
- 22:46Speaker 1: as well, kind of influenced me into coaching. What is
- 22:48Speaker 1: one thing that you've taken from your dad and the
- 22:51Speaker 1: way he coaches that you've implemented into your style or
- 22:54Speaker 1: your team. Well, it's a good question because everyone always
- 22:57Speaker 1: asked me that, and I think they're expecting like an
- 22:59Speaker 1: X and O answer it. Um. The one thing about
- 23:01Speaker 1: my dad, he's very genuine. UM, he's genuine relationships, he's real. Um,
- 23:05Speaker 1: he doesn't shoot her code things. He cares about young people.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And so I think when you're the thing that I
- 23:10Speaker 1: would take away from him, a lot of different things,
- 23:13Speaker 1: but if you've broken into one is just um, you know,
- 23:15Speaker 1: treating people genuinely and um, when you're building a program.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I think especially young people, UM, they can decipher what's real,
- 23:21Speaker 1: they can decipher what's not. UM. People you work with
- 23:24Speaker 1: the same you know kind of deal. So UM, just
- 23:27Speaker 1: treating people the way you'd want to be treated. Being
- 23:30Speaker 1: a kid from Lexington, Kentucky, you get the opportunity to
- 23:33Speaker 1: get this job. What did that mean? Landing that? Being
- 23:37Speaker 1: being able to say, having Division one coach in my
- 23:39Speaker 1: home state. It's uh, it's funny, you know. Obviously, so
- 23:42Speaker 1: I grew up. I was born in western Kentucky, but
- 23:45Speaker 1: that was a coach of Bria College assistant at that time. Um,
- 23:48Speaker 1: and all his families from northern Kentucky. So we have
- 23:50Speaker 1: major Kentucky roots. But I actually moved to Florida when
- 23:52Speaker 1: I was five years old. And uh, you know, I
- 23:55Speaker 1: grew up in the playing baseball in Sunshine and Beach
- 23:57Speaker 1: and UM, but yet basketball was rooted and what we
- 24:00Speaker 1: you know, our entire families. You know, my brothers playing,
- 24:02Speaker 1: my sister played, is just kind of what we did
- 24:04Speaker 1: on Wednesday night. We're driving three hours to go catch
- 24:06Speaker 1: college basketball game. UM. But the opportunity, obviously with we
- 24:10Speaker 1: would be back in Kentucky one, two, three times a
- 24:13Speaker 1: year to see family, see friends, and so to coach
- 24:15Speaker 1: in the OVC. UM. It's a group, it's a league
- 24:18Speaker 1: that I grew up knowing, although I may have grown
- 24:20Speaker 1: up from Florida. To be back at this level is
- 24:23Speaker 1: really special. This year, entering this season with Murray State
- 24:27Speaker 1: and Belmont leaving, was that something for you and your
- 24:30Speaker 1: team that you felt, Okay, the conference is more wide open? Yeah.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I think. You know, at the end of the day,
- 24:35Speaker 1: every you know, team that puts on the jersey their
- 24:38Speaker 1: expectation and and and goals. It could be for conference championship.
- 24:42Speaker 1: And I don't think that changes anywhere I leave. You're
- 24:43Speaker 1: in high school, I junior college Division three, Division eight team,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I think you put on the jersey to try to
- 24:48Speaker 1: compete for a championship, and um, obviously those two guys
- 24:52Speaker 1: Murray and Belmont have had great success in this league,
- 24:54Speaker 1: and so I think this league is looking for someone, um,
- 24:57Speaker 1: you know, to continue that that dominance that I think
- 24:59Speaker 1: every on not just U T. Martin, but I think
- 25:01Speaker 1: everyone looks at it. Hey, this is an opportunity to
- 25:03Speaker 1: to kind of step in and compete right away. And
- 25:07Speaker 1: in doing that, you all have already doubled your win
- 25:09Speaker 1: total from last year. Here we are just in mid February.
- 25:13Speaker 1: What do you credit that success this year too? I
- 25:16Speaker 1: think there's two main things. Um, we did a heck
- 25:18Speaker 1: of a job retaining our players from last year. Although
- 25:21Speaker 1: you know we were you know what was eight and
- 25:22Speaker 1: twenty two. We had a tough, tough road, Um, you know,
- 25:26Speaker 1: win loss wise, but we said a great foundation. You
- 25:29Speaker 1: know everyone talks about culture, Well we we did that.
- 25:31Speaker 1: We had a great culture even when we won, when
- 25:33Speaker 1: we lost, like that was a great group of dudes
- 25:35Speaker 1: that were understanding they were ability something bigger than themselves
- 25:38Speaker 1: and so were retained. We brought back nine guys that
- 25:40Speaker 1: that's a lot of guys in the trans report. And
- 25:42Speaker 1: then on top of that, we brought an impact transfers.
- 25:45Speaker 1: You know, we've got um, you know, our starting lineup
- 25:47Speaker 1: right now, we's got three guys in it. We've got um,
- 25:49Speaker 1: you know, four guys that that are newcomers that are
- 25:51Speaker 1: playing minutes, major minutes for us. So, UM, the ability
- 25:55Speaker 1: to retain that that the current guys we thought could
- 25:57Speaker 1: help us continue to build forward as well as um
- 25:59Speaker 1: at impact guys, and those dudes are gelling and I
- 26:01Speaker 1: think we're hopefully canna play our best basketball here down
- 26:04Speaker 1: the stretch. It's great, um seeing that the standings are
- 26:07Speaker 1: tied eight and six. You want tied second. It's also
- 26:10Speaker 1: the same place as sixth place in seven is just
- 26:12Speaker 1: the game behind you given that double by being so
- 26:15Speaker 1: crucial in the OVC tournament, Is that something you all
- 26:18Speaker 1: are talking about in your locker room or more taking
- 26:20Speaker 1: one game at a time. I mean, I would hope
- 26:23Speaker 1: that everyone's gonna tell you, hey, we're taking one game
- 26:25Speaker 1: at a time, because if you're looking forward, you know,
- 26:27Speaker 1: it's just it's it's gonna be a tough, tough stretch
- 26:28Speaker 1: for you. But um, all these people have access to
- 26:31Speaker 1: social media, you know, so anything we have to address
- 26:33Speaker 1: the elephant. Hey, guys, that's where we are, We're we're
- 26:35Speaker 1: in a great situation. We're still controlling your own destiny
- 26:38Speaker 1: right now. And as of today, we can finish first,
- 26:40Speaker 1: we can finish eight. There's a lot of room with
- 26:43Speaker 1: just a little bit of a season left, and that's
- 26:45Speaker 1: a pressure that we gotta embrace. And you know, tonight
- 26:48Speaker 1: at s i u E. UM, you know what is
- 26:51Speaker 1: a Saturday of the Tennessee Tech. Like, We've got to
- 26:52Speaker 1: focus on what we can control and if we win tonight, great,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and then we're gonna strap it up tomorrow. We're gonna
- 26:58Speaker 1: try to get better. We're gonna try to get better Saturday. Um.
- 27:00Speaker 1: But my full belief is when we're healthy, we're a
- 27:03Speaker 1: really good team. Uh, we're a really good team and
- 27:06Speaker 1: we're healthy. We've tripped up a couple when we were
- 27:07Speaker 1: missing a couple of guys, um, But at the end
- 27:10Speaker 1: of the day, we've gotten better from November seven until now,
- 27:13Speaker 1: and I think our group believes that. I think we're
- 27:15Speaker 1: proun to play our best basketball. That's great. Um. The
- 27:18Speaker 1: structure of the OVC tournament a team double by to
- 27:21Speaker 1: get eliminated. Do you like that? Given that we see
- 27:24Speaker 1: all these different conference tournaments, some of them, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 1: do campus sites. Others don't do the buys at all.
- 27:30Speaker 1: What would you like to see or do you like it?
- 27:32Speaker 1: Alex currently, Um, let's be transparent about Division one basketball.
- 27:36Speaker 1: You know, there's really only about eleven leagues that traditionally
- 27:38Speaker 1: are getting two teams in the tournament. The league's twelve
- 27:41Speaker 1: or thirty two, we're all fighting for the same thing.
- 27:43Speaker 1: We're fighting for for one bid. And I do like
- 27:46Speaker 1: what the OVC does. I think they reward the guys
- 27:48Speaker 1: that have had a great regular season. I think you
- 27:50Speaker 1: want to put your best team in the tournament, and
- 27:53Speaker 1: I think the way that the tournament is structured UM
- 27:56Speaker 1: gives an advantage to the top seats, which I believe.
- 27:58Speaker 1: You know, obviously injuries can happen and maybe have a
- 28:01Speaker 1: team that's playing really well but had missed a couple
- 28:02Speaker 1: of guys during the course of the year. But at
- 28:04Speaker 1: the end of the day, I do like what the
- 28:06Speaker 1: OBC does. I think it's right to award UM those
- 28:10Speaker 1: top seeds with with an easier path through the tournament. Yeah, Um,
- 28:13Speaker 1: your team right now, do you feel like, man, we're
- 28:16Speaker 1: really playing our best basketball. We're starting to peak at
- 28:18Speaker 1: the right time. Given that you know, in twenty one
- 28:21Speaker 1: of the conferences, you have to be playing your best
- 28:24Speaker 1: basketball and marks that's all that really matters in terms
- 28:26Speaker 1: of making the dance. Yeah, I think it's funny if
- 28:28Speaker 1: you ask this two weeks ago. You know, we've won
- 28:30Speaker 1: four and a rowing man, we're we're rolling well. Then
- 28:32Speaker 1: you go on the road and you lose three in
- 28:33Speaker 1: a row, um, and then you find a way to
- 28:36Speaker 1: play really well at home this this past game. So
- 28:37Speaker 1: I think our guys are fully confident in what we're doing.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Especially uh, you know, we're almost fully healthy. I think
- 28:44Speaker 1: we're a week away from getting everybody back. But I
- 28:47Speaker 1: know that locker room believes that when we're playing our
- 28:49Speaker 1: best basketball, Um, we're as good as any team in
- 28:51Speaker 1: this league. Into that. What's something that you see on
- 28:54Speaker 1: film or throughout the flow of the game and you're like, man,
- 28:57Speaker 1: if we're doing this well, we're tough to beat, we're
- 29:00Speaker 1: gonna win this conference. Well, I think that you can
- 29:03Speaker 1: look at all the analytics and kim palm like, when
- 29:05Speaker 1: we're tied in defensively, we're pretty tough to be. Um,
- 29:08Speaker 1: we're gonna find a way to put enough points on
- 29:09Speaker 1: the board. Um, you know, not that we're this steamrolling
- 29:13Speaker 1: offensive unit, but we got enough individual talent where you
- 29:15Speaker 1: could put points on the board. We are the defensive
- 29:17Speaker 1: unit that I that we showed to be through most
- 29:19Speaker 1: parts of conference. Um, you know, it's really difficult to
- 29:22Speaker 1: score on us, and that kind of carries us through. Okay, Um,
- 29:26Speaker 1: with Parker in kJ having such a talented tandem at
- 29:30Speaker 1: the back court, what has that been like this year
- 29:32Speaker 1: getting the coach you know, a tandem like that that's
- 29:35Speaker 1: not elite? Yeah, well, I think the first thing is
- 29:37Speaker 1: they're like best friends, so you know, I think you worked. Yeah,
- 29:41Speaker 1: you know, they live together, they hang out all the time.
- 29:42Speaker 1: So I think sometimes when you bring in super talented guys,
- 29:45Speaker 1: you know, you got to make sure that they fit.
- 29:46Speaker 1: And obviously their games show that they would fit. Ones
- 29:49Speaker 1: a little bit more driver one was a little bit
- 29:50Speaker 1: more shooter, but the personalities have to fit and and
- 29:53Speaker 1: those two guys have seamlessly, uh fit together, and they've
- 29:57Speaker 1: also helped our group grow together. Um. You know I've
- 30:00Speaker 1: kind of said it earlier when when you know Jordan's
- 30:02Speaker 1: sears um kJ Simon or partner Stewart when they've missed games. Um,
- 30:07Speaker 1: you know, we've we've tripped up. What we lost four
- 30:09Speaker 1: games in games that one of those guys hasn't played.
- 30:11Speaker 1: When those three guys are collectively together, um, you know,
- 30:15Speaker 1: it's it's it's pretty special. You know. Obviously those two
- 30:17Speaker 1: guys lead us and then Jordan having a great sophomore year.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Those are three guys that are there are three the
- 30:20Speaker 1: better players in this league right thirdteen and one at home?
- 30:24Speaker 1: Obviously massive home game tonight. What do you credit that
- 30:27Speaker 1: home success to that you all have been able to relishame? Well,
- 30:30Speaker 1: I always say this, our dudes love to hoop like
- 30:33Speaker 1: they love basketball. So they work in here all the time,
- 30:36Speaker 1: Like they get individual time in here, way more outside
- 30:39Speaker 1: of our practice time than then's required. And so when
- 30:41Speaker 1: that thing tips up with the lights on, they're so
- 30:43Speaker 1: comfortable being in that arena. Uh, there's just second nature
- 30:46Speaker 1: and there just happens to be people. There's happens to
- 30:48Speaker 1: be a game going. But those dude have spent so
- 30:50Speaker 1: many hours in that arena. I think that's really the
- 30:52Speaker 1: big reason why we feel great at home. Okay, last question,
- 30:55Speaker 1: pregame dinner or pregame music you what do you like
- 31:00Speaker 1: to eat or do you listen to anything before. Um So,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I'm not super picky on pregame. They're like to put
- 31:06Speaker 1: something in my stomach before. But uh, a big big
- 31:09Speaker 1: Brian Kelly beach cowboy guy from the hometown or beach, Florida.
- 31:14Speaker 1: So usually get a little jam with him and there
- 31:16Speaker 1: might be a little party on the beach. I'd be
- 31:18Speaker 1: made by the waters cousin moon On man in my
- 31:21Speaker 1: head right now, I'm ready to go there you go. Well,
- 31:23Speaker 1: thank you so much for your time, coach. I really
- 31:26Speaker 1: appreciate it. Best of luck to you all this season
- 31:29Speaker 1: and hope you can punch your ticket to the big Dance.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Appreciate you, man, Thanks, thank you. All right, that was
- 31:34Speaker 1: Coleman with coach Ryan Ritter. Colman. Where are you gonna
- 31:37Speaker 1: be this week? What games are you going to? Um So,
- 31:39Speaker 1: let's see. Tomorrow I will be at Missouri State playing
- 31:43Speaker 1: Murray State, and then Wednesday, I think I've called an audible.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna continue to get some Missouri Valley
- 31:48Speaker 1: action and go to Indiana State at Belmont. Thursday, I'll
- 31:53Speaker 1: be at you u AB hosting Rice. Friday. A little
- 31:56Speaker 1: up in the air, but I may go to Troy
- 31:58Speaker 1: Coastal Carolina and then Saturday a Stanford Ferman in a
- 32:01Speaker 1: massive game for the regular season championship in the SoCon Conference.
- 32:05Speaker 1: So he'll be here for Bilmont. Yeah, So he texted me,
- 32:07Speaker 1: I was gonna reach a text he sent me, I've
- 32:09Speaker 1: never met Coleman real life. Do you guys realized that? Right?
- 32:12Speaker 1: This whole thing happened because I was watching his brother
- 32:14Speaker 1: play on TV with Caitlin's families from Fort Gibson and
- 32:18Speaker 1: they were like they're still big and they're like, oh yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 1: and they told me coleman story, and then we brought
- 32:23Speaker 1: him on because I thought it was hilarious. They did
- 32:25Speaker 1: a science for a project. They basically kicked him out
- 32:26Speaker 1: of school for gambling, and then Draft Kings like do
- 32:30Speaker 1: you want to extend into basketball? And I'm like, yeah,
- 32:32Speaker 1: but I would like to have a basketball expert on
- 32:34Speaker 1: with me. And watched a lot of basketball, but like
- 32:37Speaker 1: Coleman's living it, he couldn't find an expert. So he
- 32:39Speaker 1: used me. Yes, And so that's it. I've never actually
- 32:41Speaker 1: met Coleman in real life except for this. And so
- 32:43Speaker 1: he texts me this morning while we're on the air,
- 32:45Speaker 1: and this is the first thing he says, just to
- 32:47Speaker 1: show you how we've never met. He goes, hey, Boby,
- 32:49Speaker 1: are you based in Nashville? Wow? So, um, that's that's
- 32:56Speaker 1: how close we are in real life. Um. He says
- 33:00Speaker 1: he's gonna pivot a schedule, la la la, and let's
- 33:04Speaker 1: say you're gonna So there's a possibility you could be
- 33:06Speaker 1: here Thursday. Yes, yeah, because that game is Wednesday night,
- 33:10Speaker 1: so I'd stay in Nashville. It's not that far drive
- 33:12Speaker 1: to Birmingham for my Thursday games, so I could be
- 33:15Speaker 1: in studio if available. So the question is like, if
- 33:19Speaker 1: he walks in and he looks all weird and he's
- 33:20Speaker 1: like the romance is gone, right? Or do we want
- 33:24Speaker 1: him in studio? So maybe I should stay on something.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Is he cat fishing us? That's another question we have
- 33:29Speaker 1: to wonder. It's like, so, Mike, yeah, let's just have
- 33:34Speaker 1: comen on Thursday. I was thinking of never meeting him. Never, right, Never.
- 33:38Speaker 1: The mystery kind of leaves it even better. If you're
- 33:41Speaker 1: gonna be here Thursday, it is. And if you're so,
- 33:43Speaker 1: what about that Monday? Are you coming back up through Nashville? Yeah,
- 33:47Speaker 1: so I want to be at the first conference tournament game. Um.
- 33:50Speaker 1: So the Atlantic Sun is the first conference to have
- 33:53Speaker 1: a conference tournament, will be and so um, either Lipscomb
- 33:57Speaker 1: or Bellarman should get a home conference turn that game.
- 34:00Speaker 1: So I'll either be in Louisville or in Nashville, and
- 34:03Speaker 1: so I'll be able to be in studio Monday. Well,
- 34:05Speaker 1: there we go, and he can be here for the
- 34:06Speaker 1: Joe Lenardi interview on Thursday. Right, yeah, yes, we recorded.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Then that show goes up Friday. Okay, cool. It's kind
- 34:12Speaker 1: of a hero of mine, so that'd be awesome. Oh, dude,
- 34:14Speaker 1: you should talk some major crap and we'll get it.
- 34:16Speaker 1: We're gonna fight with each other, viral act like a
- 34:19Speaker 1: better bracketologist, talk about the times you've out predicted him. Okay, um, okay,
- 34:24Speaker 1: thanks to the whole staff there at you T Martin
- 34:27Speaker 1: for helping us out Matt McClung. And so get this.
- 34:29Speaker 1: One of my friends is Matt. Matt McClung's brother in
- 34:31Speaker 1: law who won the Dunk Contest, who Texas basketball player?
- 34:35Speaker 1: Yeah wait, I don't understand. Did you watch any of
- 34:37Speaker 1: the Dunk Contest? Did you watch anything? I know you
- 34:38Speaker 1: watched the All Star Game, but did you not see
- 34:40Speaker 1: McClung when they dunk contest. Oh, it's the greatest dunk
- 34:43Speaker 1: contest victory in twenty years by far. Well, then come on,
- 34:46Speaker 1: give me the story. Well, the story is he was
- 34:49Speaker 1: out of his mind. He's a little He's just a
- 34:50Speaker 1: little white guy who's played g league, who's played uh
- 34:55Speaker 1: summer ball, who hasn't quite caught a team. He I
- 34:57Speaker 1: think it was the Philadelphia now think he played in
- 34:59Speaker 1: the b A for a second, but I knew what
- 35:01Speaker 1: Texas Tech. But my one of my friends who is
- 35:06Speaker 1: a golfer, Nolan right, his wife is mccluck brother sister.
- 35:14Speaker 1: So random, it's so random. But he goes in, did
- 35:18Speaker 1: you watch the don contest? Yeah? Do you watch They
- 35:20Speaker 1: likes the clips of because I don't watch it live. Yeah,
- 35:22Speaker 1: I watched the whole thing replay, but I saw the
- 35:24Speaker 1: clips too. Wasn't he wasn't it? He was out on
- 35:26Speaker 1: mindan he would go viral back in high school for dunking.
- 35:29Speaker 1: And then when he played a Techi annoyed the crap
- 35:31Speaker 1: out of me because they were good and I played.
- 35:33Speaker 1: He played for Beard at Tech. We did not play
- 35:35Speaker 1: for Tech. He did for you. But he started at Georgetown, right,
- 35:38Speaker 1: so I only know it from Tech because we played
- 35:39Speaker 1: Beard at Tech and they almost beat us, and mcluck
- 35:41Speaker 1: played and I wanted to punch him in the face
- 35:42Speaker 1: because that's the guy you want playing on your team.
- 35:44Speaker 1: But if he's not, it's like Pat Bev. I'm big Pat,
- 35:47Speaker 1: bad guy. But if Patt was playing against me but
- 35:49Speaker 1: hates his guts. But so mcclun coleman, did you watch
- 35:52Speaker 1: any of the Cliffs and the Don contest? No? I didn't,
- 35:55Speaker 1: but I've seen everyone you know hyping up Mac and
- 35:58Speaker 1: his performance greatest greatest contest for the winner in twenty years.
- 36:02Speaker 1: As long as you're watching upset it mostly you don't care,
- 36:05Speaker 1: and you're like, we've seen these dunks ten thousand times.
- 36:07Speaker 1: He did a three sixty plus another half dunk he
- 36:09Speaker 1: did like a four twenty is just go watch your sign.
- 36:16Speaker 1: That's will make it even better, like and he's up there,
- 36:19Speaker 1: up there. So McClung wins and dunk contest pretty cool.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I watched a little bit the All Star Game. Terrible.
- 36:24Speaker 1: It's terrible, um because they're having fun though, I mean
- 36:28Speaker 1: I agree, and Tatum scored like sixty points. It was
- 36:30Speaker 1: m VP, But they don't play defense. Obviously until the
- 36:33Speaker 1: very end there's no defense, but even then it's it's
- 36:37Speaker 1: it's almost unwatchable. And then what's the draft? Like they
- 36:39Speaker 1: know their team right? No, but now they didn't anybody
- 36:42Speaker 1: to not get picked last. So the the sensitivity was,
- 36:46Speaker 1: let's not pick an All Star have them being picked last. Okay,
- 36:49Speaker 1: so the reserves were announced first, so nobody got picked last,
- 36:54Speaker 1: and then they basically picked the starters. So somebody pick
- 37:00Speaker 1: lat Yeah, somebody always gets last, no matter how you
- 37:04Speaker 1: do it. Guys, also stop being a whip. Who cares
- 37:05Speaker 1: you're an All Star I being picked last. I think
- 37:08Speaker 1: we're realizing some of these NBA players are both their
- 37:11Speaker 1: whole life, they've never been picked last because they've been
- 37:13Speaker 1: the greatest of the great and so but I want it.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I would rather watch that The last night in the
- 37:18Speaker 1: Pro Bowl how it used to be. Yeah, because at
- 37:20Speaker 1: least I turned this on to watch some fun dunks.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Then I was like, Okay, I'm done. But the probol
- 37:24Speaker 1: football problem was terrible. They should just again, they should
- 37:27Speaker 1: not have anything. There's no skills. No, you've just made
- 37:31Speaker 1: the Pro Bowl team. Congratulations, that's it. Collect your bonus
- 37:34Speaker 1: you had in your contract. Because the Pro Bowl was
- 37:36Speaker 1: super unwatchable. This one was kind of watchable. Baseball All
- 37:40Speaker 1: Star Game somewhat watchable. And it gets down to it
- 37:43Speaker 1: because you know, the World Series is going to be
- 37:45Speaker 1: in the the side of the National League of the
- 37:47Speaker 1: americ leage whoever wins the All Star Game. So I
- 37:51Speaker 1: don't know how they make it matter, like we kill
- 37:52Speaker 1: somebody from the losing team. But that that was. That
- 37:58Speaker 1: was basically the weekend and nominate Kyrie. Since Kyrie and
- 38:05Speaker 1: Luca have been playing together their oh and three, it's
- 38:07Speaker 1: almost like they don't know what my grandma used to say.
- 38:10Speaker 1: It's like a cut bear handle on his Peter for
- 38:12Speaker 1: the first time, like figuring it out. Those two together,
- 38:16Speaker 1: it looks really awkward because they both played with the
- 38:18Speaker 1: ball the whole time, and they're both kind of like,
- 38:22Speaker 1: don't it ain't good. There's too many cooks in the kitchen, man.
- 38:24Speaker 1: And I think they'll I'm glad. I'm still glad they
- 38:26Speaker 1: did it. I think this will turn. They'll figure it out.
- 38:29Speaker 1: There was going to be some pains with growing pains
- 38:31Speaker 1: with this, but and Cole, when you can speak on
- 38:33Speaker 1: this too, I just don't think Dallas had a shot
- 38:35Speaker 1: to win more than one series if they didn't try something,
- 38:38Speaker 1: and they get to keep Luca Lucas there and they're
- 38:40Speaker 1: showing him they're trying things, and if it doesn't work
- 38:44Speaker 1: with Kyrie, he's out anyway, because it's not like they
- 38:46Speaker 1: signed him to a big, old fat deal. He's playing
- 38:49Speaker 1: basically four months the rest of the season. So I
- 38:51Speaker 1: still like it. They're oh in three and it looks
- 38:53Speaker 1: it looks terrible hit with them. What I do in
- 38:55Speaker 1: the NBA two K is, well, I got we're playing
- 38:59Speaker 1: nine ease and our franchise, and I got Stockton and
- 39:02Speaker 1: Mark Price. I see your five and oh and so
- 39:07Speaker 1: what I do is I'll start on both and start
- 39:09Speaker 1: Price as the two guard. But then I'll just shift
- 39:11Speaker 1: and have a point guard that they're both playing point
- 39:13Speaker 1: interested the most part, Well, somebody's get little rest. You know.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Maybe I need to call and share with Cuban my
- 39:21Speaker 1: strategy that I play on about this. Yeah, no, I thought, um.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I respected the move by Cuban to say to Luca, hey,
- 39:29Speaker 1: we're gonna provide you with enough talent to be good
- 39:31Speaker 1: enough to win a championship. Now, what could happen down
- 39:34Speaker 1: the line? From that, as we've seen Kyrie lack commitment
- 39:37Speaker 1: for an extended period of time, that could be devastating
- 39:40Speaker 1: for Dallas. But right now I respect the move trying
- 39:43Speaker 1: to go win a championship. You've already seen the too
- 39:45Speaker 1: many cooks in the kitchen already. I don't remember who
- 39:47Speaker 1: they are playing, but at the very last possession, we're
- 39:50Speaker 1: Luca and Kyrie are passing it back and forth to
- 39:52Speaker 1: one another and they don't even get a shot off
- 39:54Speaker 1: when they were down three trying to tie that game up. Um. So,
- 39:57Speaker 1: definitely gonna have to get the chemistry figured out and tough.
- 40:01Speaker 1: With only what less than or thirty games something like
- 40:03Speaker 1: that remaining in the regular season before we get to
- 40:05Speaker 1: play off time, they need to either throw two balls
- 40:07Speaker 1: out there at the same time there's a last second shot,
- 40:10Speaker 1: they shoot both their bays confused, or they both played
- 40:12Speaker 1: they have four hands on and they shoot it together
- 40:14Speaker 1: because they both aren't the ball at the end there.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Uh so, but yeah, oh, in three since they've been
- 40:20Speaker 1: able to play together, do you want to call Mike
- 40:21Speaker 1: science Eddie about to try it again more time? He said?
- 40:25Speaker 1: Is he teaching? Is he working right now? He's a
- 40:27Speaker 1: class now by teaching. He's a college instructor, which you'll
- 40:30Speaker 1: never believe by hearing him talk. I still don't believe.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I've known him for how many years? Oh hey, we're talking.
- 40:37Speaker 1: You're on air, but we're talking about the Calcutta Yeah,
- 40:41Speaker 1: Eddie said he didn't know anything about it. But he's in.
- 40:45Speaker 1: He didn't know anything about it, That's what I said
- 40:47Speaker 1: to I was like, bro, what did he email me?
- 40:48Speaker 1: What do you do? Yes, he emailed all of us.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Tell him to text to me, he said, text him, okay,
- 40:55Speaker 1: and then kick off, Kevin, I think once in and
- 40:57Speaker 1: so does Coleman. Yes, give me their emails and I'll
- 41:01Speaker 1: send them the details. Do you have with you? Like
- 41:03Speaker 1: what the teams went for last year? By any chance? Ah? Yeah?
- 41:08Speaker 1: Pulled up real quick. I'll come back to you one second.
- 41:09Speaker 1: So stay there, Okay, we'll come back. There's that way
- 41:12Speaker 1: you can get a feeler. I don't remember. I'm curious
- 41:15Speaker 1: to know what I paid. I remember you paid a
- 41:18Speaker 1: lot of money last year. Hold on, I'm gonna put
- 41:20Speaker 1: you on mute. Micael back in just a second, Bobby,
- 41:23Speaker 1: I've got a Tennessee Martin story for you that you're
- 41:25Speaker 1: in trouble about when you've got the time, the time
- 41:28Speaker 1: right now? No, no better time, right now? Go ahead? Yeah.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Do you remember a doctor Robert Richard Robinson from Henderson State.
- 41:36Speaker 1: You're a professor there. I don't know. So he's at
- 41:40Speaker 1: Tennessee Martin. Now. He claims that he sent you two
- 41:44Speaker 1: of his books. He's very proud of you sent you
- 41:47Speaker 1: two of sorry your books to get autographed and sent
- 41:51Speaker 1: back to him, and he never got him returned to him.
- 41:53Speaker 1: You kept the books Bones. I don't know where he
- 41:55Speaker 1: sent them. I've moved like three times. He probably sent
- 41:58Speaker 1: him to the to the wrong address, but he's upset
- 42:00Speaker 1: with you for it. Do you do you have his
- 42:03Speaker 1: address by any chance? Um? I have his business card
- 42:06Speaker 1: right here, so I can give you his contact info.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I would just say what books are they? And then
- 42:10Speaker 1: I'll find him and will mail him to him. Perfect.
- 42:12Speaker 1: How did he track you down? How did that happen?
- 42:14Speaker 1: At the game? So they had like at um my
- 42:18Speaker 1: press row thing It says like Bobby Bones show or
- 42:21Speaker 1: Whistles or something like that. So somehow he saw my
- 42:24Speaker 1: name on press row and was like, Okay, what's your
- 42:26Speaker 1: relation to Bobby? That's awesome? Let's try to find another
- 42:31Speaker 1: game or something to set him up. This week, he
- 42:33Speaker 1: seemed fantastic. He was so nice. Okay, Mike, are you there? Okay,
- 42:39Speaker 1: So we're gonna do the Calcutta Draft on that Wednesday
- 42:43Speaker 1: after selection Sunday? Right, yeah, okay? And how much will
- 42:47Speaker 1: you look at see how much I paid for Kentucky
- 42:49Speaker 1: last year? For me to lose all that money? Kentucky?
- 42:51Speaker 1: You spend two and thirty one team? Yeah, I really
- 42:57Speaker 1: felt like they were gonna win it all? And how
- 42:58Speaker 1: much did I? How much did I make? Let's see,
- 43:01Speaker 1: let me go to the tracker, Bobby, you spent um
- 43:05Speaker 1: six hundred and eighteen dollars total and you won too.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I lost. I like how you put that though the
- 43:15Speaker 1: Kentucky team crushed to me. Now I think I might
- 43:18Speaker 1: have spent more than everybody else. Did I spend more?
- 43:19Speaker 1: Did I go all in the most? No? Matt still
- 43:23Speaker 1: got you on the proxy bids? Okay? So, and then
- 43:26Speaker 1: what would like a number one? I didn't buy any
- 43:28Speaker 1: number one? What did number ones go for last year?
- 43:30Speaker 1: We got um? Let's see, Arizona went for two five,
- 43:35Speaker 1: number one seed of the South. Gonzago went to ninety
- 43:41Speaker 1: Baylor number one, he went to six and Kansas the winner.
- 43:46Speaker 1: I went for two thirty five, So the cheapest of
- 43:48Speaker 1: the one seeds up winning it all. So if they
- 43:51Speaker 1: played two, they pay to thirty five for Kansas. Last year,
- 43:54Speaker 1: what did Kansas end up winning? Because every game you win,
- 43:57Speaker 1: the value goes up per game. Kansas ended up winning
- 44:01Speaker 1: a total of two dollars. That is quite the investments. Yeah,
- 44:07Speaker 1: so what about like a five or six seed, how
- 44:09Speaker 1: much do they go do they go for one average?
- 44:12Speaker 1: It really depends because if you look at five seed
- 44:14Speaker 1: Iowa all the way up to one eleven um, but
- 44:18Speaker 1: then you look at five seeds St. Mary's um sixty dollars. Yeah,
- 44:23Speaker 1: so we can anywhere from like the six dollar range
- 44:26Speaker 1: to a hundrellar range. In the five seed Houston I
- 44:29Speaker 1: think got the most bang for their buck last year.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Five seed I paid dollars, they won me two oh six.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Of course, going to pick out one who won the
- 44:40Speaker 1: most money last year all in all in that was Danny.
- 44:46Speaker 1: He's the one that paid up for Kansas. Daniel Danny
- 44:49Speaker 1: Daniel uh Scuba actually did really well last year. You're
- 44:52Speaker 1: got North Carolina, right, So he spent seventy and one
- 44:56Speaker 1: seven fifty, so you can you can budget your way
- 45:01Speaker 1: to big profits. Al Right, Well, Eddie is in, Kevin's in.
- 45:06Speaker 1: We think Coleman's in. He's got checked with his wife
- 45:08Speaker 1: and him something finance. Alright, sign did you talk to
- 45:12Speaker 1: you later? All right later. I see there's a thirteen
- 45:15Speaker 1: year old basketball player who is playing in Europe right now.
- 45:18Speaker 1: He's six nine. Oh man, he's thirteen. He I watched
- 45:22Speaker 1: he put a fifty six points, thirty three rebounds and
- 45:24Speaker 1: five blocks in the championship game. I gonna say it again.
- 45:28Speaker 1: He's thirteen six nine, score fifty six points at thirty three.
- 45:31Speaker 1: That's like a Welt chamber on stat line when they
- 45:32Speaker 1: go when they check back in on social media, we
- 45:35Speaker 1: need a birth certificate. I mean, how from malle. But
- 45:42Speaker 1: I know there's a fifteen year old kid in my
- 45:44Speaker 1: son's school. When he's like six one and even that
- 45:47Speaker 1: I don't believe. And I see him like, well I
- 45:48Speaker 1: want to check his I d they are go ahead, Coleman.
- 45:53Speaker 1: I saw a video. It was the stat line wasn't
- 45:55Speaker 1: that impressive, but the video was what impressed me. There's
- 45:58Speaker 1: a freshman I don't remember where he was from scored
- 46:00Speaker 1: thirty four points led his high school team to a win.
- 46:03Speaker 1: He shoots with either hand depending on where the defenders are.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Either hand, I mean there'd be a lethal weapon. Yeah,
- 46:09Speaker 1: that's pretty good. You ever see somebody they can pitch
- 46:11Speaker 1: with both hands. Do you know who was a amidextrous
- 46:15Speaker 1: picture macho man Randy Savage blew out his like and
- 46:19Speaker 1: then hurt himself real bad, but though with both arms, Yes,
- 46:23Speaker 1: I do believe so. Then he hurt himself real bad
- 46:25Speaker 1: and came back as and played a little bit as
- 46:28Speaker 1: like an infielder or something, but then went to wrestling
- 46:30Speaker 1: like super bath late aprils. Oh yeah uh. College football
- 46:37Speaker 1: executives considering four changes to shortened games. The non controversial
- 46:41Speaker 1: ones are prohibiting consecutive time outs ice and kickers. You
- 46:45Speaker 1: have two time outs, you call it twice. You just
- 46:47Speaker 1: keep icing him. Number two no longer extending a first
- 46:50Speaker 1: or third quarter for ant untimed down if the quarter
- 46:52Speaker 1: ends on a penalty, meaning if it's not the fourth quarter,
- 46:58Speaker 1: you just go to the next group. Move on. Okay, penalty,
- 47:00Speaker 1: but will go to the next but here you go. Here.
- 47:02Speaker 1: The two controversy ones that I saw. Number one, the
- 47:04Speaker 1: clock will continue to run after an offense gains the
- 47:06Speaker 1: first down, which isn't the case because they'll stop until
- 47:10Speaker 1: the chains, but the NFL does that so it won't
- 47:11Speaker 1: feel totally weird that um and the clock will continue
- 47:15Speaker 1: to run after an complete pass once the ball is
- 47:16Speaker 1: spotted for play, so it won't keep running, but as
- 47:18Speaker 1: soon as they get the ball down, much like the
- 47:20Speaker 1: first down used to be. That's basically what they would do.
- 47:22Speaker 1: That would turn into the first down, but you wouldn't
- 47:26Speaker 1: move up, you just respot it there. But they're trying
- 47:28Speaker 1: to make games a little shorter. They're doing with a
- 47:31Speaker 1: baseball so I watched Arkansas by College baseball three games
- 47:34Speaker 1: this weekend. They have that run rule now where you
- 47:36Speaker 1: gotta you only have a certain amount of time, get
- 47:38Speaker 1: the pitches off. Yeah, it's just what But with football though,
- 47:41Speaker 1: I mean, just get the band out of there like this.
- 47:43Speaker 1: These half times are so so so long. That's where
- 47:46Speaker 1: you're gonna lo. No, they're not talking about they're literally
- 47:48Speaker 1: talking about player safety. I just think they're too long,
- 47:52Speaker 1: but really want to cut the band. I want to
- 47:54Speaker 1: get thank you halftimes. They're so quick, it's like less
- 48:01Speaker 1: than fifteen minutes, it seems in there. Back out there, dude,
- 48:04Speaker 1: I walk the dog NFL halftimes, I'm like, let me
- 48:06Speaker 1: go walk the dog. And every time I come back,
- 48:08Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I'm gonna hurry up and get back.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I always i'm late for the game. In college, I
- 48:12Speaker 1: go for a walk, I come back, I'm still sitting
- 48:14Speaker 1: there for twenty more minutes. And about you, though, buddy,
- 48:17Speaker 1: They're trying to actually make players safety good an issue
- 48:20Speaker 1: more than that. Um okay, Damian a little one three
- 48:23Speaker 1: point contest. McClung won the dunk contest. Tatum won the
- 48:26Speaker 1: MVP the All Star Game, scored more points than anybody
- 48:28Speaker 1: ever in the All Star Game history, where there's no
- 48:29Speaker 1: defense almost yeah, but there rarely is there. I want
- 48:34Speaker 1: to go over to Matt Stell, who he's a good
- 48:37Speaker 1: singer who cares um. But we played in a league
- 48:40Speaker 1: together where we bought NFL teams, and it's time to
- 48:43Speaker 1: pay the piper. Um. So if you see Matt Stell out,
- 48:47Speaker 1: you can go to a show if you want. But
- 48:49Speaker 1: right now I don't have the warmst feelings toward Matt
- 48:52Speaker 1: Stell because he did a whole instagram of what he
- 48:53Speaker 1: should do with my money. Do you guys see that
- 48:55Speaker 1: one by any chance? It's stupid. It's stupid, and they
- 48:57Speaker 1: hate him and he's ugly, and he's actually awesome and
- 49:00Speaker 1: he's a good friend. Here. He is the singer of
- 49:03Speaker 1: Pray for You Matt Stell. Now either all right on
- 49:07Speaker 1: with us country music superstar Matt Stell. Why did you
- 49:10Speaker 1: laugh at Yeah, it's true superstar. And you thought I
- 49:17Speaker 1: had poked him like the Pillsbury dough boy laughs hard. Okay,
- 49:21Speaker 1: so let's just let's just get this out here. I've
- 49:23Speaker 1: been talking about it all year. You guys know that
- 49:25Speaker 1: league that I'm in where I bought the teams and
- 49:27Speaker 1: then however good they do, I make money. However bad
- 49:29Speaker 1: they do, I lose money. And it's all you're long.
- 49:31Speaker 1: I tell you when I drafted my team. So I'm
- 49:33Speaker 1: just going from memory here. It was the Rams. First round.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Drafted the Rams. We got six teams. I was like
- 49:38Speaker 1: money in the bank. Let me just start counting my riches.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Then I got the Chargers, which was rough at first,
- 49:43Speaker 1: but okay, I got the Raiders. God dangn got the Cowboys,
- 49:47Speaker 1: which money good. And my my biggest money maker was
- 49:50Speaker 1: the Bears, but to lose and then the oh my god,
- 49:53Speaker 1: the Colts. So I remember texting Matt because Matt's one
- 49:58Speaker 1: who got me in the stupid league. Now i' you
- 50:00Speaker 1: want to take advantage of me? I said, hey, man,
- 50:02Speaker 1: he goes. You got a good team there. Now, question
- 50:04Speaker 1: number one, did you think I had a good team
- 50:06Speaker 1: when you really told me that? Man, I really did
- 50:08Speaker 1: think you had a good team I had. I think
- 50:10Speaker 1: the Rams are the are what swung you so like
- 50:13Speaker 1: the rest of the teams were, you know, kind of whatever,
- 50:15Speaker 1: you know they were. You had some good winners in
- 50:17Speaker 1: there and stuff, but the Rams were probably performed below
- 50:22Speaker 1: expectations more than any other team in the league I
- 50:25Speaker 1: thought in that division. Honestly, the Colts really suck. Yeah,
- 50:30Speaker 1: the Colts too. I mean that that was a that
- 50:32Speaker 1: was a mess. You just kind of got uh you
- 50:34Speaker 1: got freight trained a little bit by the by the
- 50:36Speaker 1: winners there. Yeah. And I was always looking too, like, Okay,
- 50:38Speaker 1: how can I make ten bucks back? And I was
- 50:40Speaker 1: down like three thousand dollars at one point, and so
- 50:43Speaker 1: I ended up um because Matt send a text out
- 50:46Speaker 1: reminding everybody how much they owed he was bill collecting
- 50:48Speaker 1: this oh Man. Yeah yeah, Matt steal bill collector. You
- 50:51Speaker 1: know you want to keep your pencils sharp. Yeah, I
- 50:53Speaker 1: hear you. So Stell text everybody and it's like, all right,
- 50:56Speaker 1: here's how much you. Oh so I had to pay.
- 51:00Speaker 1: And it sucks because I made, be honest with you,
- 51:03Speaker 1: like super Bowl made like eight thousand dollars bend that
- 51:05Speaker 1: super Bowl all in. I had put second back in
- 51:08Speaker 1: the bank, which I thought was pretty good. At me,
- 51:10Speaker 1: I never put it back in the bank. So I'm
- 51:11Speaker 1: feeling pretty good about myself. And then Matt Stell says, well,
- 51:14Speaker 1: boys to the whole league, congrats on a great first season.
- 51:18Speaker 1: You know why he's saying that because he won freaking money.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Here we go. Some say it's not the amount of
- 51:24Speaker 1: money we win or lose, it's the friends we make
- 51:27Speaker 1: along the way. Again, he made money. I hate everybody
- 51:31Speaker 1: in this group now, uh, he says, okay, on on on,
- 51:34Speaker 1: and so here's what I I have to pay. And
- 51:37Speaker 1: I did pay. Um Joe House, who I know from
- 51:43Speaker 1: the ringer from Bill Simmons podcast and golf. So I
- 51:47Speaker 1: didn't know that was him until he got in the league.
- 51:49Speaker 1: And he's like, hey, look at that so I paid
- 51:51Speaker 1: him his money of yesterday, I've been mowed him one thousand,
- 51:58Speaker 1: eight hundred and seventeen dollars. That hurts, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 52:01Speaker 1: And so I'm like, okay, well I'm only down eight
- 52:03Speaker 1: hundred bonzone still seven hundred sixty six dollars, So okay,
- 52:10Speaker 1: you know what, I'm a man, I'll pay. I haven't
- 52:12Speaker 1: paid it yet because I knew what was going on here.
- 52:14Speaker 1: So I'm eighteen hundred bucks basically. And so, and he
- 52:18Speaker 1: texts me like randomly yesterday afternoon. And I like Matt
- 52:21Speaker 1: a lot. It's a friend, but much not even about
- 52:23Speaker 1: this show. Like Matt just a good dude. And he goes, hey, man,
- 52:27Speaker 1: yesterday five or six pm, Hey, what have you quoified
- 52:30Speaker 1: something on social media? Like what should I spend Bobby's
- 52:32Speaker 1: money on. I'm like, okay, sure, what you do whatever
- 52:36Speaker 1: you want? Now you have the floor, Matt. So, first
- 52:40Speaker 1: of all, where did this league come from? Second of all,
- 52:42Speaker 1: did you win money off many other folks too? Well? First,
- 52:47Speaker 1: so one of these answers as shorter than the other one.
- 52:50Speaker 1: I want actually did pretty well in skins Lea this year. Yeah, yeah,
- 52:54Speaker 1: I want money in this and the other league. So
- 52:56Speaker 1: you know, that was just fortunate. I'd like to thank
- 52:58Speaker 1: my teammates. You know, the car handled good. I'd like
- 53:01Speaker 1: to you know, took it one game at a time
- 53:03Speaker 1: and uh we we had a lot of injury luck
- 53:05Speaker 1: and uh so that was great. Um. Now, where this
- 53:09Speaker 1: league came from? My buddy, uh, my buddy Will is
- 53:12Speaker 1: the one that actually he was playing golf. I think
- 53:15Speaker 1: he was playing golf at like Riviera or someplace in
- 53:17Speaker 1: l a And somebody had mentioned the league like this,
- 53:21Speaker 1: and he brought it back to Texas all like that,
- 53:23Speaker 1: that's where this friend group is from. And he brought
- 53:25Speaker 1: it back and we do that and we started doing
- 53:28Speaker 1: this Skins League and it ends up being I think,
- 53:32Speaker 1: I mean I lost money probably the first year too,
- 53:34Speaker 1: but it ends up being the most fun thing that
- 53:37Speaker 1: I do sports betting wise, because it's like it ends
- 53:40Speaker 1: up being like fantasy football, but but you care about
- 53:44Speaker 1: who wins and loses it again, you know, fantasy can
- 53:48Speaker 1: be fun, but it's so flu key, and it's like
- 53:50Speaker 1: so all these trash points and you know, like like
- 53:53Speaker 1: points where in the game isn't on the line, whereas
- 53:56Speaker 1: in Skins League, it's all about winning and losing and
- 53:58Speaker 1: then you don't have to set a line up every week.
- 54:00Speaker 1: So I didn't I didn't find hot with I know
- 54:03Speaker 1: you say it's fine. I didn't find it to be
- 54:04Speaker 1: fun all. Actually I found it to be actually pretty terrible. Well,
- 54:08Speaker 1: and it's also easy to it's easy to hitch, like
- 54:11Speaker 1: because you know if if you're going in, you've got
- 54:14Speaker 1: these So basically what it ends up being is you
- 54:16Speaker 1: have six teams, and you know, with bye weeks and
- 54:20Speaker 1: with teams playing each other. Let's say that you've got
- 54:22Speaker 1: like five teams, You've got you got five games going
- 54:26Speaker 1: every week where you've got action and on a lot
- 54:28Speaker 1: of those games, you know it's a it's just a
- 54:30Speaker 1: straight up bet basically, so you can you know that
- 54:33Speaker 1: if you win this game, you're gonna win a hundred
- 54:36Speaker 1: dollars from everybody in the in the pool there's six teams.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Every time you win a skin, you win a hundred
- 54:42Speaker 1: dollars off every person. So it ends up being worth
- 54:44Speaker 1: five bucks. So if you're on the right side of
- 54:47Speaker 1: a point spread, you know you can go bet the
- 54:50Speaker 1: you can go go bet the underdog on the money line.
- 54:53Speaker 1: You know, if they're like plus, you know they're like,
- 54:56Speaker 1: they're like plus one five. You can go bet that
- 54:59Speaker 1: against your regular their bed and you can come and
- 55:01Speaker 1: you can hedge it really easy. Interesting tell them what
- 55:04Speaker 1: I do by hedging crap, I go, I go for
- 55:07Speaker 1: the gusto. I have a wiener. Yeah, yeah, he's got
- 55:14Speaker 1: he's got that old crown that what what a crown
- 55:16Speaker 1: royal bottle comes in below up. So I'm gonna pay
- 55:23Speaker 1: you now this money as we're here together. And does
- 55:28Speaker 1: it always have to be just six teams or now? Man,
- 55:32Speaker 1: we've always done it that way, you know. I guess
- 55:34Speaker 1: you could you know, in theory, you could have you know,
- 55:38Speaker 1: because there's obviously thirty two teams in the league, but
- 55:40Speaker 1: you take teams to either win or lose. So in
- 55:44Speaker 1: theory you there are sixty four total teams. But then
- 55:47Speaker 1: that would have you taken like the Chiefs to lose
- 55:50Speaker 1: and the and the Texas to win, you know, something
- 55:52Speaker 1: like that. I mean, I guess you could expand it
- 55:54Speaker 1: or contract it. But it seems to be that we
- 55:57Speaker 1: have six teams, and we are six owners ship groups,
- 56:00Speaker 1: and each ownership group drafts six teams, so's thirty six teams.
- 56:04Speaker 1: So you're gonna have some overlap there um, and it
- 56:07Speaker 1: ends up being is up working out pretty well that
- 56:10Speaker 1: way here. You could mess with it, but that sounds stupid.
- 56:13Speaker 1: It's stupid teaming. I'm in next year, though, for sure,
- 56:16Speaker 1: as stupid as the stupid thing I've ever done. I
- 56:18Speaker 1: hated it, hate every second of it. But I'm in
- 56:19Speaker 1: next year, I'll say in my spot. Um. And then
- 56:22Speaker 1: as far as the math and how it all checks out,
- 56:25Speaker 1: I never really investigated it, so I could be getting
- 56:26Speaker 1: fully made off here, I don't know. I didn't do
- 56:29Speaker 1: the math on at all. I'm just trusting Matt Stell,
- 56:31Speaker 1: who at times not that trustworthy. So heytche that's why
- 56:35Speaker 1: you gamble with you, buddies. You know who else? You
- 56:38Speaker 1: know who else was in the league? Oh man? So
- 56:41Speaker 1: it was so I co owned a team with my
- 56:45Speaker 1: buddy Will that got that that he's the one that
- 56:48Speaker 1: got this idea and rolling so Willing. I own a team,
- 56:51Speaker 1: and you own a team. Pat Maroon owns a team
- 56:54Speaker 1: Tampa Bay Lightning Great St. Louis Blues great. Uh. He
- 56:58Speaker 1: owned the team. Scott Chandler former Buffalo Bill's uh Patriots
- 57:03Speaker 1: great tight end him and his brother They owned a team, Uh,
- 57:07Speaker 1: Joe House and Chris Vernon from the Ringer Podcast Network
- 57:11Speaker 1: uh and grind City Media. Those guys on the team.
- 57:14Speaker 1: And then the guy that is the basically owned my
- 57:19Speaker 1: management come up, basically owns my management company is uh.
- 57:23Speaker 1: He's the other him and one of his h one
- 57:27Speaker 1: of his buddies are the sixth team there, uh that
- 57:30Speaker 1: that make up the league. So it's a it's a
- 57:33Speaker 1: pretty good it's a pretty good amalgamation of dudes. There
- 57:37Speaker 1: s a big word. Hey, listen, here's the thing. I
- 57:40Speaker 1: pretty much owned the Browns if we're like doing in
- 57:42Speaker 1: a comparison to what happened this year, I owned the
- 57:44Speaker 1: Browns basically, and we really let our fans down, passionate
- 57:47Speaker 1: fan base, just me and we will let us down.
- 57:49Speaker 1: And I had I lost over three. I mean it's stupid.
- 57:53Speaker 1: I's um, so I just paid you. I paid Matt
- 57:56Speaker 1: still one thousand, seven hundred sixty six dollars and I
- 57:59Speaker 1: put in just so you know, it's you're stupid and
- 58:00Speaker 1: you're ugly. So that's in the message there. And Matt
- 58:06Speaker 1: told me this before we started. Goes it's fun. You
- 58:08Speaker 1: made at worst, you loose like a thousand bucks and
- 58:10Speaker 1: I was like, okay, well let's go. He didn't say
- 58:13Speaker 1: you lose thirty bucks. I stopped looking at the playoffs
- 58:16Speaker 1: because I was just upset that I couldn't gain any
- 58:18Speaker 1: of my money back. So that's where we are, Matt
- 58:21Speaker 1: cell stupid, and I think we'll retire there. Now one
- 58:25Speaker 1: final question, you're Matt, as far as the money goes,
- 58:27Speaker 1: did I lose more than anybody else? No? Oh, yeah,
- 58:31Speaker 1: no you didn't. I think, um, you and Pat lost
- 58:35Speaker 1: about the same. I think I think, uh, Steve and
- 58:39Speaker 1: the Whitney Ranch mafia boys, they really took it on
- 58:42Speaker 1: the chin this year. How much did you win overall? Uh?
- 58:47Speaker 1: In the league? I think we won something around four grand.
- 58:50Speaker 1: I think we end up making four grands. The Chandlers
- 58:52Speaker 1: were the big winners though. The Chandlers won eight grand
- 58:56Speaker 1: this year, which is an outlier. You know, usually you're well,
- 58:58Speaker 1: usually you win or lose a couple of thousand bucks.
- 59:01Speaker 1: You know, I'm also an outlier. Then, thank you. This
- 59:03Speaker 1: is stupid. This is stupid, and I hate it, but
- 59:07Speaker 1: I paid it, and thank god I wanted the money
- 59:08Speaker 1: on the Super Bowl. I'd really been like, this blows.
- 59:11Speaker 1: But okay, well, thank you for the entertainment this year. Matt,
- 59:14Speaker 1: where are you by the way right now? I'm I'm
- 59:17Speaker 1: in downtown mashill up my publisher about to write a song.
- 59:20Speaker 1: All right, Well, hope it sucks and I hope it
- 59:23Speaker 1: never comes into anything. I hope you can't find something
- 59:25Speaker 1: right about I hope it's I hope you're end up
- 59:27Speaker 1: writing and you put it out and you accidentally stold
- 59:29Speaker 1: it from somebody, you get sued. Like That's what I
- 59:31Speaker 1: hope happens today. Yeah, that's what I hope happens. All right, Matt,
- 59:35Speaker 1: Good to talk to you, buddy. Alright, alright, see you
- 59:37Speaker 1: later though, all right there is Matt still Oh end
- 59:41Speaker 1: with this before we get out of here. But I
- 59:43Speaker 1: was reading the story about C. J. Stroud, who played
- 59:45Speaker 1: quarterback at Ohio State. He was thirteen years old when
- 59:48Speaker 1: his father was sent us to thirty eight years in prison.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Did you guys know the story? No? No, This cost
- 59:54Speaker 1: Stroud to spend his high school years living in a
- 59:55Speaker 1: small apartment of a storage facility. The family did not
- 59:59Speaker 1: have money. He was not able to a private coach
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: like other top quarterbacks were able to do. Sometimes I
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: had to ask people for help to get new cleats
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: or even contact lenses. He still pursued his football dream.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: He eventually committed Ohio State University, and now he is
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: on the cusp of being the first Ohio State quarterback
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: to be selected in the top ten of the NFL
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Draft in forty one years. Like, that is a kid
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: who's gone through it. You got me with that story.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I mean, I'm a fan. Now that is a kid
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: who's a good through it for sure. Um, okay, I
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: think Michael we good, We're good. One final question. I'll
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: do it as my in thought. So give me give
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: me your final in thought here, Eddie. You guys are
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: gonna hate me for this. Go ahead. Oh you think
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: the Cowboys are gonna cut Zeke? I would? I mean,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: that's the talk. I would. The problem is Pollard's coming
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: off an injury too. That's risky. I know they owe
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: him like eleven million for sure next year even if
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: they cut him, but they could say, have a little
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: cap room. Would you cut him yesterday? Absolutely? But you
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: got a better on Pollard who's coming off an injuries? Well,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: I would? I would? I mean, I hopefully, I mean,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: if they can get my homes back to like nothing's
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: going on. Yeah, we got time to get Pallar healthy.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: But here's the deal with Zeke, Dude, I mean, what's
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: he done for us in the last two years. Nothing?
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: He evers four yards of carrious of course in touchdowns,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: goal line back blocks that whole line back. I liked
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: having them played together to jerseys. Seriously, that's a big
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: part of it. Anyway, go ahead. My final thought. My
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: final thought, guys, I finally watched Hoosiers for the first time,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: and that crazy, like so so so with my kid
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: playing basketball, we're going to like this big playoff thing.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: And before every game, Colman, you know, like this, I've
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: been showing him just like little things. Let's watch Mono
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Jenoble highlights. He didn't know anything about Mono Jenoble, and
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: he's like and now he loves man New. He's like, yeah,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: he plays like my new. And then I was thinking,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: let me, is there a movie I'm never seeing Hoosiers before.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Let's see, like that's the whole story of a first
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: time coach and we want dude, that's a good movie.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: Great movie, like good movie, And I feel stupid that
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: I missed out on that, Like that's a classic. I
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: should have watched like Rudy Gene Hackman. Probably odd connection
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: that I have roommate in college. He's from Indiana. His
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: uncle is Jimmy Chitwood, the actor, not the actual Jimmy
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Chitwood that they based the character on, but the actors
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: my roommates uncle. Really yeah, that's crazy, dude. My son too,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: He's like, I want to play with Jimmy today. Boy,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: this is out non connected. We are listen to this.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Coleman's got the actor Jimmy chitwould like roommates, cousins, uncle's
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: mal Man away and I got my friends wife's brother.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Hold on, go ahead. My grandfather he ran my uh
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Western auto like a I don't know, auto store or
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: something whatever. He caught Tom Landry in there one day
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: stealing beebes as a kid or as a kid. How
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: do you know? My grandfather told me. And then my
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: dad's like it sounds like a story that was made up,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: because how do you know as a kid, Like, what
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: do you have from Tom Landry to prove that happen?
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Tom Landry lived in that hometown, the small hometown Mission
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Mission Texas. I know you're gonna believe Coleman and Jimmy
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: that one out of nowhere, all of a sudden, you're
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: a Cowboys fan and Tom Lander's still in Bebes. Did
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: you have your thing saying that member is no, but
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: thank you for sharing, Kevin. Mind's more of a question
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: or you guys opinions. Actually, So, I've been borrowing Eddie's
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: golf clubs for about a year now. Right when I
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: moved out here, I didn't take mine. I left him
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: back at home and I borrowed his for about a year.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: And I've saved up some money in the last few months,
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: kind of put some money on the side, and I'm
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: ready to buy my own set of golf clubs Eddie,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: and I know you're happy about it. So I need
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: some help from you guys, not necessarily on the podcast
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: put off. If you guys have any um advice I
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: want to buy. I don't have anything special. Here's what
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I would tell you. Everybody's gonna have an idea of
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: what brand is the best, But it's only because the
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: brand that they're closest to. That being said Cobram to
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: big sponsor. Now um are here, like I got Puma
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: on right now? Man? You do? Yeah, I can't get
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: enough they fit the club. I never have a clubs
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: fit before? Is that play golf for a long time
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: at least not where it's like I want to get
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: good stuff and they fit me and I love them,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: But so what are you looking for? Meaning you can
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: always go to the here's the advice, go to a
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: golf store and say, look, I'm looking to buy some clubs.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Here's my budget. Sucker. He's gonna walk in there and
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: be like, all right, I got this guy. But you
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: tell me you want to be fit for the clubs
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: that you buy, and they can do that there. Maybe
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: you don't even charge you for a little bit. And
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: you're a pretty tall guy, and they'll make sure that
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: your clubs are built for your body more than get
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: the right brand. But those Cobras, though, do That's where
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: it's when you play Cobras where Puma? That helps, right,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: And if you gotta tell you what, you get some
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Cobra's pumas, you get some Cobra clubs, you can probably
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: get a couple of Puma shirts. Throw alright, what's your
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: what's your budget? I'm looking at like six hundred, Yes,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: thank you for that, and that's why, but um, so
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: like six bucks, even if it's like a little used.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: I'm okay. I don't have anything special, like I said,
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: more so something that's decent that will last me a
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: while and that fits. Well. Here's here's the cool thing.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: My first pair of club or the set of clubs.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: I had those for twenty years. I planned him for
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: twenty years. Okay, and he's not the same anymore. That
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: used to being day We're not drove our old four nineteen. Yeah,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: thank you. He actually stole these clubs too, Mike, what
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: do you want to say anything? I saw Adam Sandler
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: over the weekend and it was amazing. I'm sad you
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: didn't get to go. Would have loved it. I know
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I would have loved it. It was awesome. Dog was hurt,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: a c L torn a C. I just trying to
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: rehab get back with Cowboys next year. Having that's the trade. Yeah, Coleman,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: what do you want to say in the show here?
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Don't be the person that's first times tuning into college
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: basketball is when the n c A Tournament hits. We
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: are less than three weeks from selection Sunday, we are
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: less than one week away from the first conference tournaments
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: beginning tune into those It's it's arguably more exciting the
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: conference tournaments than a turner. I would agree with that
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: a lot of times, especially as you get to the
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: semis of the finals and some teams are winning their
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: way in for those small conferences. Yeah, it's when I
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: go home, they have to win it. Uh. Finally, just
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: a tactic question for you guys. I was playing pickle
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: ball with a friend of mine who is a He
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: was really good and so good. Then we played the
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: first match. I was just so overwhelmed by how good
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: he was and I was like, okay, crap. So he
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: went to the first two. We're playing best five. He
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: wins the first two. I win the second too. But
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: during that time, he's going through some personal I wouldn't
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: say crisis, but some drama in his life. And I
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: know about it, but in the middle of those matches,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I would like bring it up just to mess him out,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: just to like talk about that. I'd be like, Hey,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: how's everything going with and I and I? And that's
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: I firmly believe That's how one those second two matches
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Draymond Green style dude. So I lost the intentional Yeah, oh,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: absolutely absolutely go to him. I was just a shoulder
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: to lean on, Okay, but I won those two for
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: the fifties, Like I gotta focus in. I'm not talking
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: about anything because he didn't know that's what I was doing.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: But then he focused on what me pretty bad the
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: fifth one. So that being said, is that unethical how
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I played? Or is that just hey, that show base
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: baby is part of the game. Dude, that's dirty, but
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: that show biz. Kevin's definitely in the heat of the moment.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: I don't even blame you one bit. Alright, Coleman, you
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: ever talked crap on the basketball court? Real personal stuff
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: when you know something about somebody. I didn't, but I
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: probably should have. Um. Yeah, I mean it depends on
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: are you more of a competitor and wanting to win
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: or do you care sue excuse me? Do you care
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: more about personal relationship? First one? If you care more
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: about wanting to win, respect the move generally in my life,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I just want to win all the time, and I
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: will kill anyone and slip anyone start I have too.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: But otherwise all good, HU guys, Yeah, alright, Mike, I
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: forget anything. Are we good? You're good? All right? Let
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: me blow us out that's this episode forty five. We'll
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: see you guys on Friday with a very special Coleman
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: in studios. Right, I know I can't wait out of that,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: all right, See you guys,
