Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Variety from the 80s through today. 106.7 Light FM.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Good morning. I'm Cubby.
- 0:04Speaker 1: That's Christine. That's producer Kristen. And that's you listening. Thank
- 0:07Speaker 1: you so much. I don't know if I'll ever be
- 0:10Speaker 1: able to pick up my son Miles again from daycare.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Why? What's going on?
- 0:15Speaker 2: I am really embarrassed. I just want to put my
- 0:18Speaker 2: head in the sand.
- 0:19Speaker 1: So remember I mentioned at the beginning of the show
- 0:21Speaker 1: that every Monday Naomi has German class? So I take
- 0:25Speaker 1: her to Holmdel, New Jersey.
- 0:26Speaker 2: It's quite a hike. Okay.
- 0:28Speaker 1: But I'm with her from 4.30 to 6.30 every Monday. Yeah.
- 0:32Speaker 2: That's until like May. In case you're wondering, I'll be
- 0:33Speaker 2: at Houlihan's in Holmdel.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Very nice.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Killing time every Monday.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Take the class with her.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I should.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you should learn some German while you're there.
- 0:40Speaker 2: That's actually a great idea.
- 0:41Speaker 1: So I usually pick up Miles from daycare, which is
- 0:44Speaker 1: much closer to home. Well, I didn't pick him up yesterday.
- 0:48Speaker 1: In fact, it's been a while since I haven't picked
- 0:50Speaker 1: him up. Mommy picked Miles up yesterday. Oh, yeah. And
- 0:53Speaker 1: mommy sent me this video as I was in Houlihan's
- 0:57Speaker 1: Killing Time waiting for Naomi to finish German class.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Now, if you can't make out what my son says,
- 1:03Speaker 1: I will kind of recap it for you after it plays.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:06Speaker 1: But this is the video my wife Coco sent me.
- 1:08Speaker 1: They're driving home from daycare after she picked him up
- 1:12Speaker 1: for the first time in a long time.
- 1:14Speaker 2: What'd you just say? Good thing mommy picks me up
- 1:18Speaker 2: because every time daddy picks me up, then my kids
- 1:23Speaker 2: laugh because daddy doesn't.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Have any hair. Every time daddy picks him up, the
- 1:33Speaker 1: kids laugh because I have no hair.
- 1:35Speaker 2: And I have noticed them giggling.
- 1:38Speaker 3: You did?
- 1:38Speaker 1: And I thought maybe I was just the fun dad
- 1:41Speaker 1: picking up. Because I'll be like, Miles, what's up? And
- 1:44Speaker 1: then he'll run to me and then maybe he'll make
- 1:46Speaker 1: a goofy face. Yeah. So I'm thinking they're laughing maybe
- 1:48Speaker 1: at everything going on with the pickup.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 1: But little do I know. I'm the butt of all
- 1:54Speaker 1: the jokes with the four-year-olds. Daddy, the dad with the
- 1:57Speaker 1: bald head.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Are you okay? Did this hurt your feelings?
- 2:00Speaker 2: I'm going to start wearing hats.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I went to the closet this morning before I left
- 2:04Speaker 1: work looking for all the extra hats I have around
- 2:06Speaker 1: because that hurts.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 2:10Speaker 3: There's no other dads that are bald. There has to be.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Maybe it's just my whole physique between the bald and
- 2:18Speaker 1: I got the little beer gut. I don't know what
- 2:20Speaker 1: it is, but... I thought it was extremely cute. That
- 2:25Speaker 1: is adorable. My wife Coco said, yeah, the four-year-olds have
- 2:28Speaker 1: had you tricked because you didn't know until yesterday.
- 2:31Speaker 2: So all along, it's been this joke for months.
- 2:34Speaker 3: They were laughing at you.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Because she takes them to school every day.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Yes. But I pick them up usually every day. And
- 2:40Speaker 1: this is the first time she's picked up Miles from daycare.
- 2:42Speaker 2: So anyway.
- 2:43Speaker 3: You thought they were laughing with you.
- 2:45Speaker 2: They're laughing at me. At me.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Are you okay? Wow, this could trigger some, like, way
- 2:50Speaker 3: back insecurities or something. You think?
- 2:53Speaker 2: You think? That show, Kids Say the Darnest Things?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know where that show is, but
- 2:58Speaker 2: it's apparent why that show was popular. Right, right. Because
- 3:01Speaker 2: kids really do say the darndest things, and I love it.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Miles is just being honest, but are you going to
- 3:05Speaker 3: pick him up today?
- 3:06Speaker 2: Hell no. No, I'll be there, but with a hat on.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Love you, Miles.
