- 1:02Speaker 3: Huskers over the weekend. I'll get into the messaging there.
- 1:04Speaker 3: But there was a teammate of ours from Nebraska back
- 1:07Speaker 3: when I played, when I was a freshman, that took
- 1:09Speaker 3: his own life. He was homeless and he recently just
- 1:12Speaker 3: died like last week. There's some messaging around like transitioning
- 1:15Speaker 3: after football, Deon Sanders.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Some kids are like all right.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Some of the athletes on their world either not showing
- 1:21Speaker 3: up at class, being disrespectful.
- 1:22Speaker 4: He's kind of talking through some things on the board.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I think it'd be a really good conversation with us,
- 1:26Speaker 3: kind of talking about, you know, these athletes taking things
- 1:28Speaker 3: more serious.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Than just what their craft is. We're just going to
- 1:32Speaker 4: talk some dad talk.
- 1:33Speaker 3: We got some tiered talk where we're going to talk
- 1:34Speaker 3: about the Masters club dinner. Did I say that correctly?
- 1:38Speaker 3: G I don't want to mess that up with the
- 1:40Speaker 3: Masters coming up this week. What else, we'll recap our
- 1:43Speaker 3: Nebraska trip over the weekend where we're going to next
- 1:46Speaker 3: There won't be a live show at organ but we're
- 1:48Speaker 3: going to Oregon next week and then we're going to
- 1:51Speaker 3: Alabama the week after that.
- 1:52Speaker 4: We will be doing a live show at Alabama.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So make sure you're following along at bustin WTV for
- 1:56Speaker 3: all that information.
- 1:58Speaker 4: But welcome to the show, bro.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Thanks for having me. Man. It's always good to be
- 2:04Speaker 5: on the bus. Always good to be on the bus.
- 2:05Speaker 5: People seem to love the Mule, the fucking mule. You
- 2:09Speaker 5: was like the only black guy. No, that was a
- 2:12Speaker 5: mixed guy in the crowd there was He kind of
- 2:14Speaker 5: raised his hands.
- 2:15Speaker 6: But then another crowd, another person in the crowd was like,
- 2:18Speaker 6: he's not black. Did y'all not hear that he could.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Be a white person? You're not black? He was a
- 2:26Speaker 5: white person. He's like, well, yeah, I is not black.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I was like, damn, yo, what.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Was your What was your take on Nebraska? Did that
- 2:32Speaker 4: have I turned you into a Husker fan?
- 2:34Speaker 5: Definitely? Definitely.
- 2:36Speaker 6: I mean when you think of Nebraska, you don't think
- 2:39Speaker 6: of what you're about to see, Like, honestly, you think
- 2:42Speaker 6: of some corn fields gang of fucking white people. I
- 2:45Speaker 6: mean that was well that that's true. That holds the
- 2:48Speaker 6: line that still stuck. But that's on part. The school
- 2:51Speaker 6: is pretty much. It got a city vibe, it's got
- 2:54Speaker 6: a night life. The school was awesome. I mean, what
- 2:57Speaker 6: they got going up there, going on up there in Nebraska.
- 3:00Speaker 6: I can see why a lot of guys come out
- 3:01Speaker 6: of there will be successful. It's just rand Will and
- 3:06Speaker 6: I'm glad I had the opportunity to go out.
- 3:07Speaker 4: I got to get you in some red this I
- 3:10Speaker 4: met who what was her name? Laura. That's a great call, Mitch.
- 3:17Speaker 3: This podcast has brought to us our presenting sponsor, the
- 3:20Speaker 3: Chevy Silverado. Bust with the Boys is presented by Chevy.
- 3:23Speaker 3: This is a Chevy Truck podcast. Chevy trucks are the
- 3:26Speaker 3: greatest trucks ever built in our good friends at Chevrolet
- 3:29Speaker 3: have been a big part of the bust and family
- 3:31Speaker 3: and even in our personal lives.
- 3:33Speaker 5: Your boy Rex is R.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Two Chevy Silverado, longtime partner of the show. A truck
- 3:37Speaker 3: with commanding and unstoppable grit, legendary capability and dependability too.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Just like the boy Mitch in the back, he is
- 3:43Speaker 3: built to depend upon on reading the Chevy Soverado ads.
- 3:47Speaker 3: So find out for yourself like so many of our
- 3:49Speaker 3: boys had the Chevy dot com. Check out all the
- 3:51Speaker 3: Chevy truck grit, build your own Silverado, and check out
- 3:54Speaker 3: what current offers are out there during Chevy Truck season
- 3:57Speaker 3: for do your self projects, DIY projects, to road trips,
- 4:02Speaker 3: off road adventures, tailgates, and whatever your thing is, it
- 4:05Speaker 3: starts with the Chevy truck.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Thank you. Mitch. What's I fucking talking about?
- 4:11Speaker 7: You said you met with some girl.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I think her name is Laura. About the
- 4:16Speaker 4: merch we're gonna get to do this year.
- 4:19Speaker 5: I did not speak with Laura.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I'll show you. I'll show you that she sent me
- 4:24Speaker 4: the stuff you sent.
- 4:24Speaker 3: By the way, we got some boy mom merch coming
- 4:26Speaker 3: out that's fucking awesome for Mother's Day, so be on
- 4:29Speaker 3: the lookout for our boy Ma merch.
- 4:31Speaker 4: We get to drop a couple hats.
- 4:32Speaker 3: They didn't let us do a whole lot because we
- 4:34Speaker 3: got to kind of see how we do with this
- 4:36Speaker 3: first run of everything. But to all the boys that
- 4:39Speaker 3: listen to this show, you have an awesome mother who
- 4:42Speaker 3: I'm sure helped raise you very well. Nothing would be
- 4:45Speaker 3: a better Mother's Day gift than getting her a boy
- 4:47Speaker 3: mom hat. Or for any of the hubbies out there,
- 4:49Speaker 3: you guys have a son, get one for your wife.
- 4:53Speaker 3: If we do happen to have females, and then we
- 4:54Speaker 3: got like three percent of our audience's female, there's some
- 4:57Speaker 3: boy mom hats that are dropping soon. But that same
- 5:01Speaker 3: rolodex of boy mom has she sent me an entire
- 5:04Speaker 3: thing of like options that we'll get to select with,
- 5:07Speaker 3: like the boy the Diamonds up with forty seven where
- 5:10Speaker 3: it says Nebraska's the boys, Oh for real? Yeah, like
- 5:14Speaker 3: like stuff that you're gonna be fired up about with
- 5:16Speaker 3: the yeah, like we're yeah, they're hoping that they can
- 5:20Speaker 3: get it into uh they're hoping that they can get
- 5:23Speaker 3: into the like stores on campus. Obviously it'll be on
- 5:25Speaker 3: the forty seven site, but Huskers will be running up
- 5:29Speaker 3: this year. I think there's a lot to be excited about.
- 5:31Speaker 3: We got some color on the wide receiver corps. I
- 5:33Speaker 3: saw some cats out there.
- 5:34Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Too many white dudes running around there like that. Nothing,
- 5:39Speaker 3: there's anything wrong with that. You need a scrapy white
- 5:41Speaker 3: guy that can play the slot definitely as dependable hands
- 5:44Speaker 3: and everything else. But there there was that one cat.
- 5:47Speaker 3: I think he was a transfer from U. Was it
- 5:49Speaker 3: organ no wake for Wake Force? Okay, long cat attacking
- 5:55Speaker 3: the ball over the middle like and what I see
- 5:57Speaker 3: little nineteen making that play?
- 5:58Speaker 4: Dylan Ryola.
- 6:00Speaker 6: I mean you got to two receivers came in from Texas.
- 6:03Speaker 6: That's phenomenal. Yeah, God, I want to say Devon Hall
- 6:07Speaker 6: and then or I don't want to mess his name up,
- 6:12Speaker 6: but for sure them dudes was showing up, uh the
- 6:15Speaker 6: other day.
- 6:17Speaker 7: Hey, but don't sleep on the white wide receivers because
- 6:21Speaker 7: on social media obviously I wasn't there by I soalid
- 6:23Speaker 7: little race between you two and.
- 6:26Speaker 6: Well, yeah up, thank you, JP Hill, I give will
- 6:30Speaker 6: up pill. But if we ran it straight flag, he
- 6:34Speaker 6: can't keep up.
- 6:35Speaker 5: B Bro.
- 6:36Speaker 3: That acceleration I had going uphill was was clean? Really
- 6:40Speaker 3: topped out after five yards.
- 6:43Speaker 6: You crazy zoom I had on with these heavy ass sweats.
- 6:47Speaker 6: I had on air Forces. That was the ass sweat.
- 6:49Speaker 6: And before the before we race, Will was tying his shoes.
- 6:53Speaker 6: He choked, tied him, did you not?
- 6:56Speaker 5: I laced, But you got it. You gotta be prepared,
- 6:59Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying.
- 7:00Speaker 4: I thought.
- 7:01Speaker 6: So in the beginning of it, we thought he was
- 7:03Speaker 6: just going to race coach. That was that was the
- 7:05Speaker 6: whole headline. It was you versus coach. And then well he.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Didn't want to, but I was like, they were like, hey,
- 7:11Speaker 3: we got to do this, like you got to get
- 7:13Speaker 3: coach rule to get out there and race your pill.
- 7:15Speaker 5: And he didn't want to do it at first.
- 7:16Speaker 3: But last week when we were at Florida State and
- 7:18Speaker 3: you beat me in the jump off, and I was
- 7:19Speaker 3: trying to all like, yeah, we can race, yeah we
- 7:21Speaker 3: won and one yeah, so I had to get you.
- 7:23Speaker 6: But the next time we go somewhere the next event,
- 7:26Speaker 6: we can do a race, or we can do coverage.
- 7:29Speaker 5: It's whatever. You ain't you got any.
- 7:33Speaker 6: You cannot lock me up. Just like Week seven in
- 7:37Speaker 6: twenty fourteen. Bro, Yeah, okay, I mean catches.
- 7:40Speaker 5: You had two?
- 7:42Speaker 4: Two catches?
- 7:42Speaker 5: How many yards for seventeen?
- 7:44Speaker 4: How many targets? Five cover one all game?
- 7:48Speaker 6: Five targets that we let's we can pull up the film.
- 7:52Speaker 6: I don't even think the ball was close to me
- 7:55Speaker 6: on either three targets.
- 7:56Speaker 4: It was like it's tough and you got tight windows.
- 7:59Speaker 5: Nah No, but you like when you got the park.
- 8:02Speaker 6: Look at the guys who got catches, Like y'all were
- 8:06Speaker 6: really trying to stop me.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Other dudes ate that never ate.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Yeah, you're a monster. Okay, that's all I got to
- 8:11Speaker 3: se time pro bowler. We got to look out for this.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Don't worry coach. I got him decoy. You gotta worry
- 8:16Speaker 3: about him. I was a decoy for that game. Had
- 8:19Speaker 3: to be because you weren't open.
- 8:24Speaker 5: I gave you that.
- 8:25Speaker 7: They should let us know in the comments about the
- 8:26Speaker 7: third event should be between y'all.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Two okay, everybody in the comments.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Let us know at the third event, the lady wants
- 8:32Speaker 3: to race on flat ground, because apparently that makes up
- 8:35Speaker 3: all the difference in the world.
- 8:36Speaker 5: It definitely does we're running uphill, bro bro Jill. We
- 8:42Speaker 5: ran uphill. You barely beat me.
- 8:44Speaker 3: It was like number one, It's like twenty yard, Like
- 8:47Speaker 3: I can sound like I can smoke you.
- 8:49Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying.
- 8:50Speaker 6: If you even in the first one, you was trying
- 8:52Speaker 6: to pull me down because I beat you by five hours.
- 8:55Speaker 6: I was like, I slowed down because look, honestly I did.
- 8:58Speaker 6: I jumped on that first one. I took off and
- 9:00Speaker 6: then I started to slow down, but I saw you
- 9:02Speaker 6: were still going, so I trying to grab you. Hey,
- 9:05Speaker 6: I'm a cheater. I've never no cheat. No, but that, uh,
- 9:13Speaker 6: that was a fun weekend.
- 9:13Speaker 4: JP.
- 9:14Speaker 3: We hated that you couldn't make it with the boys. Man,
- 9:16Speaker 3: we had a good time. Coop Coop he we got
- 9:20Speaker 3: him nice and sauced up. It was his first time,
- 9:22Speaker 3: so we had to give a couple of Coop chants.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I couldn't necessarily get him at the beginning, so I
- 9:28Speaker 3: had to lean on Delaney.
- 9:29Speaker 8: I was like, hey, we gotta get Coop going. He
- 9:31Speaker 8: won't say no to you, Yeah he was. There was
- 9:34Speaker 8: no saying no to me.
- 9:35Speaker 6: Every five minutes shot shot, you'd be like you're good, Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 6: let's take a shot.
- 9:40Speaker 5: I'll be like, God, damn this big time. Oh hug
- 9:45Speaker 5: dap whisper in your ear.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Oh we were all late.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Then I had to I was up the next morning,
- 9:55Speaker 3: true true wanted me to go to talk to the team,
- 9:57Speaker 3: and man, that's super ruper.
- 10:00Speaker 5: He is a trooper.
- 10:02Speaker 6: I'm not even seven point thirty text message, who coming silent?
- 10:13Speaker 7: Sorry, I just imagine Rule hyping you up like we
- 10:16Speaker 7: got a very special guest coming. He was successful on
- 10:18Speaker 7: the field, successful off the field. Everybody, please welcome little confidence.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I just hungover, bro, I was hungover. I had just
- 10:25Speaker 3: stand in a cold shower. I had to like just
- 10:28Speaker 3: get going because I was like, man, I was out too.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Late last night.
- 10:31Speaker 6: But everyone said he killed it. Soon as I got there,
- 10:34Speaker 6: they was like, will killed it?
- 10:36Speaker 5: Man? He killed And I was sitting there like.
- 10:38Speaker 3: For real, you know, you know it was solid when
- 10:44Speaker 3: all the brothers are coming up being like, hey, that
- 10:46Speaker 3: was some good ship because you had them, you have
- 10:47Speaker 3: them locked in. Usually you get guys back in the
- 10:49Speaker 3: chair in the back. You kind of know when that
- 10:51Speaker 3: man there, they're not fucking with anything I'm saying right now.
- 10:53Speaker 3: But they were locked in. They were locked in.
- 10:55Speaker 6: They all came and told me, like, will crush that speech,
- 10:57Speaker 6: will battled early.
- 10:59Speaker 9: We all showed up at like I don't know ten
- 11:01Speaker 9: forty five, got to the field by eleven, and Coach
- 11:04Speaker 9: Rule goes the lady.
- 11:06Speaker 10: Glad you can mate you everybody.
- 11:10Speaker 5: He'll be on blastom everybody. I'm like, I got it.
- 11:13Speaker 5: I start disappearing in the bushes back.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Oh no, but it went well.
- 11:20Speaker 3: But honestly, like what I was saying in the intro earlier,
- 11:23Speaker 3: like I was thinking, like, man, what can I Coach
- 11:25Speaker 3: Rule wanted me to talk about, like success off the field,
- 11:29Speaker 3: transitioning after football, because you know, the reality is like
- 11:32Speaker 3: one percent goes and plays d one one percent can
- 11:35Speaker 3: go to the NFL. There's not gonna be a whole
- 11:37Speaker 3: lot of guys out of that room, which everybody has
- 11:38Speaker 3: the dream of doing it.
- 11:39Speaker 4: You hope everybody does.
- 11:41Speaker 3: But he's like, I want you to talk to him
- 11:42Speaker 3: about like life after football. A kind of lean into
- 11:45Speaker 3: the messaging there when I was trying to think about
- 11:47Speaker 3: when we were flying out, like what to like what
- 11:50Speaker 3: to kind of go off of. Unfortunately, earlier that day
- 11:54Speaker 3: there's a text message I got in our Huskers for
- 11:56Speaker 3: Life group chat there's like twenty something of us we
- 11:58Speaker 3: called the Husker Bird.
- 12:00Speaker 5: That group chat.
- 12:00Speaker 3: It's kind of like we only chime in when somebody's
- 12:02Speaker 3: like today's happy birthday. It's just a line of happy birthday,
- 12:05Speaker 3: unless there's some news that happens. And somebody dropped in
- 12:09Speaker 3: the chat that Kenny Wilson, he was a running back.
- 12:11Speaker 3: He was a senior when I was a freshman, so
- 12:12Speaker 3: I didn't know him very well and only had a
- 12:14Speaker 3: couple of conversations with him. But a teammate of mine
- 12:16Speaker 3: had killed himself, like he had died and listen, I
- 12:19Speaker 3: haven't read all the reporting or anything else. That's just
- 12:22Speaker 3: what was kind of in the group chat, and that
- 12:24Speaker 3: he wasn't doing well and they think he took his
- 12:27Speaker 3: own life, and YadA, YadA, YadA. It was just like
- 12:29Speaker 3: a sad, unfortunate situation. And it got me thinking that,
- 12:33Speaker 3: you know, this is a dude that I played with
- 12:36Speaker 3: that I'm in my thirties. This dude's in his thirties
- 12:38Speaker 3: and his situation wasn't going well and felt the need
- 12:42Speaker 3: whether he took his own life or however he ended
- 12:44Speaker 3: up passing away, but just being in a bad situation,
- 12:47Speaker 3: I was thinking I was gonna lead with that story
- 12:49Speaker 3: to think, like, all you guys in here think that
- 12:53Speaker 3: you know we're gonna you're gonna play college.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Ball, hopefully you all play in the NFL.
- 12:58Speaker 3: But at some point we all retire, whether it's after
- 13:01Speaker 3: high school, whether it's after college, whether it's two years
- 13:04Speaker 3: in the league, whether it's three years in the CFL,
- 13:06Speaker 3: whether it's I got to play.
- 13:07Speaker 4: For nine years, I said, depending on the day ten.
- 13:10Speaker 3: But I was like, it all ultimately ends, and unless
- 13:13Speaker 3: you're like a massively successful guy like most people, just
- 13:17Speaker 3: like you know, you still have like a whole lot
- 13:19Speaker 3: of life to live. And so it's kind of going
- 13:21Speaker 3: off of like taking advantage an athlete. And I would
- 13:24Speaker 3: love to have your perspective too, because you work with
- 13:26Speaker 3: the NFLPA, So anytime that there's like a tough situation
- 13:29Speaker 3: going on with guys transitioning, you're somebody who calls them.
- 13:32Speaker 3: You talk to them through stuff like when guys are
- 13:34Speaker 3: going through whether it's an identity crisis or something else.
- 13:37Speaker 3: But I was trying to express how important it is
- 13:41Speaker 3: that you guys don't understand getting to sit in these seats.
- 13:45Speaker 3: It's like a running joke in the NFL, Like if
- 13:47Speaker 3: you wear the shield, your jokes are funny or you're
- 13:49Speaker 3: better looking, and you get to shake more hands than
- 13:52Speaker 3: ever before, and you need to take advantage of it
- 13:54Speaker 3: while you're playing it. And it's no different sitting out
- 13:56Speaker 3: any D one program, but especially at the University of
- 13:59Speaker 3: Nebraska as well. You guys are the pro team, Like,
- 14:01Speaker 3: you guys have so much opportunity and all these resources.
- 14:04Speaker 4: You saw the facilities, you see how.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Much support that they have on staff just to be
- 14:09Speaker 3: successful in life, whatever it is that you guys need
- 14:12Speaker 3: to be taking advantage of it. Because again we understand,
- 14:15Speaker 3: like we sat in those seats, bro, we all want
- 14:17Speaker 3: to play in the NFL. We all want to play
- 14:19Speaker 3: in the league, and it doesn't happen for ninety nine
- 14:23Speaker 3: percent of cats. Like what would be like, what's your
- 14:26Speaker 3: kind of thought process on that, Like were you always
- 14:28Speaker 3: somebody who thought like I was going to go to
- 14:30Speaker 3: the league and then when it was coming to an end,
- 14:32Speaker 3: talk about how you kind of went through that process
- 14:35Speaker 3: and talk about the transition itself.
- 14:37Speaker 6: I mean, you know, like you said, we all dreamed
- 14:40Speaker 6: our goal was to be in the NFL. That's the
- 14:42Speaker 6: big goal. That's what it all comes down to when
- 14:45Speaker 6: you play football. So you know I had that goal.
- 14:48Speaker 6: I had that dream, and then going D two, you know,
- 14:51Speaker 6: I didn't know how reachable my dream was because I
- 14:55Speaker 6: was D two. You know, I knew I was good,
- 14:57Speaker 6: but I knew being at a D two school, I
- 15:00Speaker 6: maybe probably when they got drafted, probably was going to
- 15:03Speaker 6: go in as a free agent. So you know, there
- 15:05Speaker 6: were things that I had to I had to really
- 15:09Speaker 6: make come clear and understand that this could happen. I
- 15:12Speaker 6: may not be a draft pick. I may be a
- 15:15Speaker 6: free agent going in for a tryout. So I had
- 15:18Speaker 6: those That's the thoughts I had. So I really didn't
- 15:22Speaker 6: have high expectations because I knew of.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Having the career that you had. I mean you played
- 15:26Speaker 5: fourteen years, yes, yes, yes, indeed so.
- 15:29Speaker 6: But when that time came and I was able to
- 15:32Speaker 6: go to the compound, it kind of it changed because
- 15:34Speaker 6: I'm like, they giving me that opportunity. Now it's up
- 15:37Speaker 6: to me to take advantage of this opportunity. Only I
- 15:40Speaker 6: can fail. So once I got there, I knew I
- 15:44Speaker 6: didn't want to leave. I love where I was at.
- 15:46Speaker 6: Like you said, your jokes get funnier, you get a
- 15:48Speaker 6: little cuter, you know.
- 15:49Speaker 3: What I mean, everybody, everybody's out kicking their coverage. Indeed, yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 3: and everybody's out kicking their coverage.
- 15:55Speaker 5: I didn't want to lose that.
- 15:56Speaker 6: And then, you know, fourteen years later and then my
- 15:59Speaker 6: at the end of my year, I can tell, oh, man.
- 16:02Speaker 5: This may be it. What's next? Well, how were you feeling?
- 16:06Speaker 3: You're again, three time pro bowler, You made good contracts
- 16:09Speaker 3: fourteen years you didn't think you would probably end off.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Of of the hip drop, broken leg tackle, Like I'm.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Sure even you had like anxieties when it's coming to
- 16:17Speaker 3: an end.
- 16:18Speaker 6: Of course, you know, like after having this injury, that
- 16:22Speaker 6: anxiety went up higher because I knew once the doctor
- 16:25Speaker 6: told me, like, gosh, you pushing thirty seven. You're not
- 16:28Speaker 6: gonna heal it's like you used to. So that was
- 16:31Speaker 6: a big factor. When he told me that, I kind
- 16:33Speaker 6: of was like, damn, why did he just tell me that,
- 16:36Speaker 6: you know what I mean, because I'm thinking I'm about
- 16:38Speaker 6: to come back, bounce back just like I always did.
- 16:40Speaker 6: But he was like, you got to think about it's
- 16:42Speaker 6: gonna be a little different for you. Your heal process is
- 16:44Speaker 6: just a little different. And then now it's sat in
- 16:47Speaker 6: reality set in After that fourth game, I'm like, God, damn,
- 16:51Speaker 6: my leg hurt. Oh it's not healing. It's not feeling better,
- 16:54Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying. So now I gotta start
- 16:56Speaker 6: thinking about what's next? What's the next chapter? Did I
- 16:58Speaker 6: think I was gonna get cut?
- 17:00Speaker 5: No?
- 17:01Speaker 6: You know, sometimes you feel like a lot of stuff
- 17:03Speaker 6: that you do for the organization, the teams that they
- 17:05Speaker 6: may overlook some things, but when you're making a lot
- 17:08Speaker 6: of money, it's a business. And I know, like, okay,
- 17:10Speaker 6: we got to figure out a way to either make
- 17:13Speaker 6: him take a pay cut or get rid of them.
- 17:14Speaker 6: And you know, I didn't know what what was in
- 17:16Speaker 6: my bucket. But when that time came, yeah, I was
- 17:20Speaker 6: I was terrified. I was scaring.
- 17:22Speaker 5: You. Though I made money, it's still a point of
- 17:25Speaker 5: you're young.
- 17:25Speaker 6: How much? How long would that this money last? You
- 17:29Speaker 6: know what I'm saying. You got to cut a lot
- 17:30Speaker 6: of stuff out. You gotta change your life a little bit.
- 17:33Speaker 6: And and that's the sad part. Some people can't do
- 17:35Speaker 6: that because they want to live that lie. They want
- 17:38Speaker 6: to still act like they got money. They want to
- 17:39Speaker 6: steal like they on top. Because when you've been in
- 17:43Speaker 6: a college level or an NFL level. You have so
- 17:45Speaker 6: much given to you, you have so much told to you.
- 17:49Speaker 6: You are looked up by your family members, your friends,
- 17:52Speaker 6: that community came from that you don't even know how
- 17:54Speaker 6: to tell them, Oh, I'm I'm doing I'm doing bad.
- 17:58Speaker 6: I'm not good with money. I don't know how to
- 18:01Speaker 6: do this, I don't know how to control this. I
- 18:03Speaker 6: don't know how to speak to somebody about my emotions.
- 18:06Speaker 6: These are things that as athletes, it's very tough for
- 18:09Speaker 6: us to do, and the results are terrifying because if you.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Don't mind, obviously don't you don't need to say any names.
- 18:18Speaker 3: But you talk with guys all the time that go
- 18:20Speaker 3: through like a lot of this transition and identities that
- 18:23Speaker 3: we're you know, a lot of for most guys, like yeah,
- 18:26Speaker 3: fourteen years you kind of knew, okay, business kind of
- 18:28Speaker 3: takes over.
- 18:29Speaker 4: You go from superstar to now you're going to.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Try outs and realizing like, hey, I ain't got people
- 18:34Speaker 3: know me as Delaney Walker. But obviously you know, it's
- 18:37Speaker 3: just different now I'm getting in these lines, running these
- 18:39Speaker 3: route blah blah blah blah blah. But for a lot
- 18:41Speaker 3: of guys like you just don't even get a call again.
- 18:43Speaker 3: And then you're on the phone with dudes who are struggling,
- 18:46Speaker 3: like talk about some of those.
- 18:48Speaker 6: That's the tough part because you know, they when we
- 18:52Speaker 6: reach out to them, they not expecting it.
- 18:56Speaker 5: They don't know why we're calling them.
- 18:58Speaker 6: It's just we give them a call all and sometimes,
- 19:02Speaker 6: you know, I feel like they've been waiting on that call.
- 19:06Speaker 5: They've been waiting on a call.
- 19:08Speaker 6: If it's not from a teammate, from a person who
- 19:11Speaker 6: played in the level, somebody who been where.
- 19:13Speaker 5: They've been, they wait on that call.
- 19:16Speaker 6: Because it's almost like players is almost like owners in
- 19:20Speaker 6: some spec because it's like, once we stop playing with
- 19:23Speaker 6: that guy, we don't communicate with them.
- 19:25Speaker 5: It's like, what have you done with for me lately?
- 19:27Speaker 5: Why wouldn't league? Yeah, that's the business.
- 19:30Speaker 6: That's the business, And it almost trickles down to the
- 19:32Speaker 6: players because then we don't even communicate with guys we
- 19:35Speaker 6: play with, we call brother, we love, we die with
- 19:38Speaker 6: you get you know what I'm saying. If we die, we die,
- 19:40Speaker 6: like we don't even call them dudes that we've been
- 19:44Speaker 6: in the trenches with, and then it's always too late, you.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Know what I mean?
- 19:47Speaker 6: When we hear, oh, man he killed hisself, or man
- 19:51Speaker 6: he in a mental hospital?
- 19:53Speaker 5: Are he doing really bad? Like this?
- 19:56Speaker 6: Them are the times where we'll be like, damn, I
- 19:57Speaker 6: should have called him, but now we can't do that
- 20:01Speaker 6: just as friends, as brothers, as players, And that's where
- 20:05Speaker 6: I feel like we don't do a good job at
- 20:09Speaker 6: all as a whole, as football players, as an organization,
- 20:12Speaker 6: because these are the things we need to do. We
- 20:14Speaker 6: have to reach out to players, because we do not
- 20:16Speaker 6: know how players are feeling, how they're doing.
- 20:19Speaker 5: Because they're not going to tell you. They want to tell.
- 20:21Speaker 3: You get to a point of like being probably like
- 20:23Speaker 3: embarrassed or ashamed, and you're not even want to reach out,
- 20:26Speaker 3: and like you were saying, like admit to being vulnerable,
- 20:28Speaker 3: like hey, I have no fucking clue what I feel
- 20:30Speaker 3: right now and it's not going well.
- 20:31Speaker 6: And half of us don't like doing that. We don't
- 20:33Speaker 6: want to be embarrassed, especially by our peers. Orked him
- 20:37Speaker 6: to find out like, oh, you made this much money
- 20:39Speaker 6: and you broke like that shit hurts, you know what
- 20:42Speaker 6: I mean. So they will keep it down, keep it
- 20:44Speaker 6: inside where they can't swallow it no more. And the
- 20:47Speaker 6: only way they know that they can get money for
- 20:49Speaker 6: somebody or they got to die or they got to
- 20:52Speaker 6: go down that road, and that it's just tough man,
- 20:56Speaker 6: you know, dealing with players and talking to players and
- 20:59Speaker 6: just hear and some of the things. It's just it's
- 21:01Speaker 6: sometimes it's tough and it's a bad situation. But again
- 21:06Speaker 6: that's when that's why I'm a legend coordinator. We're trying
- 21:09Speaker 6: to change that stigma. We're trying to make sure guys
- 21:12Speaker 6: know they can reach out to players like myself, other
- 21:14Speaker 6: players just if you need some wanted to talk to,
- 21:17Speaker 6: because sometimes it just feel better for a player to
- 21:19Speaker 6: talk to another player and not a dude with a suit.
- 21:22Speaker 5: You get what I'm saying, right, right, right?
- 21:23Speaker 6: And then they know you can understand because we all
- 21:26Speaker 6: went through something.
- 21:27Speaker 5: We all have some type of fucked up, up.
- 21:31Speaker 6: And down that we can experience that that person may
- 21:33Speaker 6: relate to that may change his point and thought on
- 21:37Speaker 6: making a bad decision that day.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Right, and then when it gets too late, like you said,
- 21:41Speaker 3: guys want to talk about it, but also they're they're
- 21:43Speaker 3: not as equipped because to have the skill set to
- 21:47Speaker 3: communicate everything else. Because we identified our entire lives and
- 21:50Speaker 3: careers as football players. It's like you It's like, you know,
- 21:54Speaker 3: we obviously we got to play a kids game and
- 21:56Speaker 3: play and earn a lot of money, and very grateful
- 21:59Speaker 3: and all the greatest things, like when we got to
- 22:03Speaker 3: live out our dream. But when you're say, I started
- 22:06Speaker 3: playing in second grade with flag football and everything else,
- 22:08Speaker 3: and from an early age, I wanted to be an
- 22:09Speaker 3: NFL player. I wanted to be this like everybody wants
- 22:12Speaker 3: to be a professional athlete. And for essentially, I don't
- 22:15Speaker 3: know how, I don't know how old we are in
- 22:17Speaker 3: second grade. Let's just say like eight years old. Yeah,
- 22:20Speaker 3: you go from eight years old all the way up
- 22:22Speaker 3: to then I get out of college at twenty three.
- 22:24Speaker 3: For all those years I'm identifying as getting to play
- 22:28Speaker 3: this game for a short period of time nine years,
- 22:31Speaker 3: I'm thirty something years old when that time ends. In
- 22:33Speaker 3: that my entire life, I've been wrapped up in the
- 22:35Speaker 3: identity of a football player. And for most guys, you
- 22:40Speaker 3: again you don't get that call or you get cut
- 22:42Speaker 3: and you're still training. You kind of don't know when
- 22:43Speaker 3: to let it go because you think you're going to
- 22:45Speaker 3: get back in the league, and then when it's too late.
- 22:47Speaker 4: You kind of just whether you're embarrassed or shame whatever
- 22:50Speaker 4: it is, but.
- 22:50Speaker 3: You didn't pour into those skills that help you adapt
- 22:53Speaker 3: and transition to that next to that, next, that next
- 22:56Speaker 3: aspect of life. And I feel like, guys, that's why
- 22:59Speaker 3: it's so important to take everything serious and not just football.
- 23:03Speaker 3: It's like Dion, he was just going on in on
- 23:06Speaker 3: his team about being lazy in class, being disrespectful to
- 23:10Speaker 3: the teacher, and he was kind of going in but
- 23:11Speaker 3: giving him game like this is not you guys don't
- 23:14Speaker 3: realize the reality of this situation is only a few
- 23:17Speaker 3: of you guys are going to play, maybe a couple
- 23:18Speaker 3: depending on what locker roreum, maybe none. Like you might
- 23:21Speaker 3: get a crack at go being on draft or get
- 23:23Speaker 3: a crack at doing a rookie mini camp or this that,
- 23:26Speaker 3: but you're going to have to transition and go on
- 23:29Speaker 3: to the next thing. And if you're not taking advantage
- 23:31Speaker 3: of it now, like on scholarship, with all the resources
- 23:35Speaker 3: in support these these colleges have for the athletes now,
- 23:38Speaker 3: especially with nil money. It's like I was talking to
- 23:41Speaker 3: somebody out of practice and we brought up the ESPN
- 23:44Speaker 3: thirty to thirty broke. It's like seventy to eighty percent
- 23:46Speaker 3: of football players will be bankrupt within five years out
- 23:49Speaker 3: of league.
- 23:49Speaker 4: We're talking about grown men that make a lot of money.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Now you're making this money as a college kid, Like,
- 23:54Speaker 3: don't act like and pretend that you're going to have
- 23:56Speaker 3: it all figured out or you're figuring it out with
- 23:58Speaker 3: your nil money coming in, whether it's taxes, whatever the
- 24:01Speaker 3: case may be. So you need to do everything you
- 24:03Speaker 3: fucking can to pour into those resources you do have
- 24:07Speaker 3: because the game ends that I'm telling you, it doesn't
- 24:10Speaker 3: matter how long you play. You were kind of alluding
- 24:11Speaker 3: to with your you had an incredible career, but the
- 24:15Speaker 3: doubt and everything that kind of creeps in of like, Yo,
- 24:18Speaker 3: what am I going to do next?
- 24:20Speaker 4: I've been saying all this, Oh, don't want to do
- 24:21Speaker 4: real estate? Do I want to coach, don't want to
- 24:23Speaker 4: do this.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I got podcasting written down and stuff, And I'm glad
- 24:26Speaker 3: that this has worked out, but it wouldn't happen unless
- 24:30Speaker 3: like the intention of like being serious of hey, this
- 24:34Speaker 3: is going to end soon. I really got to start
- 24:36Speaker 3: figuring this shit out and do not wait until it's
- 24:39Speaker 3: too late.
- 24:40Speaker 6: And it's funny you say that because as NFL players,
- 24:43Speaker 6: we kind of have that thought, but at college players
- 24:46Speaker 6: that's not even a thought. No, they don't even think
- 24:49Speaker 6: about that because in their mind is I'm a football player,
- 24:53Speaker 6: I'm going to the NFL, and it's a shocker.
- 24:56Speaker 5: When they don't go, it's a shocker.
- 24:58Speaker 6: And that's the tough part because now nil deals these
- 25:02Speaker 6: catches getting money, like like you said, Dion, talking about
- 25:05Speaker 6: disrespecting the teachers, not being lazy in class. They already
- 25:09Speaker 6: think they paid. They already think they're celebrities. They got commercials,
- 25:13Speaker 6: they getting paid like in they mind. It almost takes
- 25:17Speaker 6: away from really being a Scott a student athlete because
- 25:24Speaker 6: you're still a student athlete, not a you know, athlete
- 25:29Speaker 6: at school, you are a student.
- 25:31Speaker 5: You know.
- 25:31Speaker 3: The saying too is like student athlete, like you're you're there, Hey,
- 25:35Speaker 3: student athlete comes first year student first.
- 25:37Speaker 5: But everybody kind of knows the underline tone like we're
- 25:39Speaker 5: here to be athletes. We're here to be athletes, and
- 25:41Speaker 5: that's where they go wrong.
- 25:43Speaker 6: And you know, I'm in that same boat I should
- 25:45Speaker 6: have took now you know, obviously I'm older and I
- 25:49Speaker 6: experienced a lot. Sometimes I wish I would have took
- 25:52Speaker 6: school more seriously, you know what I mean, I found
- 25:55Speaker 6: a major that really would have worked for me after school,
- 26:00Speaker 6: because most of us choose a major just so we
- 26:02Speaker 6: can get good grades to play sports, because that again,
- 26:05Speaker 6: like you said, sports is our identity.
- 26:07Speaker 5: We want to be football players.
- 26:09Speaker 6: We assume we're going to play in the NFL because
- 26:11Speaker 6: we go to Nebraska, we go to Georgia, we go
- 26:13Speaker 6: to Alabama. They assume I'm getting drafted just because you
- 26:18Speaker 6: know what I mean, I play for this school.
- 26:19Speaker 5: But the sad story is it doesn't work that way.
- 26:24Speaker 6: And then when you don't have when you don't have
- 26:26Speaker 6: nothing to fall back on, all you can do is
- 26:29Speaker 6: talk about your glory days, well when I was here,
- 26:32Speaker 6: when I did this, But what you're doing now, right,
- 26:36Speaker 6: And then that hurts, you know, that hurts when you
- 26:38Speaker 6: hit somebody that because now you're being real set up,
- 26:41Speaker 6: you know, keeping they ego up, Like.
- 26:43Speaker 5: Yeah, you was a.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Beast, you was dead, da da dah, But that was
- 26:45Speaker 6: twenty years ago. Yeah, like what you're doing now? Yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 6: Like what have you done to made you more talkable now?
- 26:54Speaker 11: Right?
- 26:54Speaker 5: But you see players they don't understand that. And then
- 26:58Speaker 5: when you do be real with them.
- 26:59Speaker 6: They may cut you off for being too real because
- 27:03Speaker 6: you he too real, he being too honest with me.
- 27:06Speaker 6: I need someone to kind of help me gld my
- 27:08Speaker 6: glory days. And I come across a lot of people
- 27:11Speaker 6: like that too, and you know, I'll try to be
- 27:14Speaker 6: as honest as I possibly can. Like shit, it's over
- 27:18Speaker 6: with for you, Like come on, man, what you got
- 27:21Speaker 6: going next? But again, you gotta kind of gotta know
- 27:24Speaker 6: who you're talking to. You gotta fill him out because
- 27:27Speaker 6: this is a tough subject. And as we see, you know,
- 27:30Speaker 6: players just taking their life left right.
- 27:33Speaker 3: And it's because there's been a couple over the years
- 27:36Speaker 3: where somebody's in prison, like hey, so and so, so
- 27:39Speaker 3: and so seeing if anybody can get him a phone.
- 27:41Speaker 4: He just got out of prison, he wants to communicate.
- 27:43Speaker 5: Blah blah, And it's just like, man, what in the
- 27:45Speaker 5: robbing people doing fraud?
- 27:47Speaker 6: Like it's because again, you know what I mean, It
- 27:51Speaker 6: depends on what level you was at, matching being in NFL,
- 27:54Speaker 6: you was making hundreds and thousands a week. To get cut,
- 27:57Speaker 6: You'll never find a job up like that where you
- 28:01Speaker 6: get to go out play a kids game and get
- 28:03Speaker 6: one hundred and some thousand dollars check a week.
- 28:06Speaker 5: They need they look for that. Etch I need that
- 28:09Speaker 5: fast money.
- 28:10Speaker 6: I can't work for somebody for fifty thousand a year
- 28:13Speaker 6: doing all this crazy work, to staying after work doing
- 28:17Speaker 6: put it in the hours.
- 28:19Speaker 5: They don't want to do that right because then.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Nor do they want to listen because people come in
- 28:23Speaker 3: and kind of talk with us like you're you're on
- 28:24Speaker 3: that side of now with the PA. How many times
- 28:27Speaker 3: are people coming in it's right after practice and you're
- 28:29Speaker 3: just thinking like, oh hurry this fucking met yeah, versus
- 28:31Speaker 3: like understanding that, hey, this is actually useful shit you
- 28:35Speaker 3: need to listen to.
- 28:36Speaker 5: You go need it with it's all set and it's
- 28:38Speaker 5: so crazy, like because they do this every year. We
- 28:41Speaker 5: know I've been sitting and you setting the rooms. I
- 28:43Speaker 5: sit in the room. They try to feed you all
- 28:45Speaker 5: the information.
- 28:46Speaker 6: They can't because they know they on our time and
- 28:49Speaker 6: we want to go and they try to do their
- 28:50Speaker 6: best jobs even though we give it, we hassle them,
- 28:53Speaker 6: they try.
- 28:54Speaker 5: We give them hell, We give them hell, and they only.
- 28:56Speaker 6: Trying to do They trying to crown a two hour
- 29:01Speaker 6: to our information into forty five minutes because us it's
- 29:06Speaker 6: because of us.
- 29:07Speaker 5: It's not the coaches, because.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Of what the stats show. Yeah, because what the data says,
- 29:11Speaker 3: like y'all need a fucking yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 5: We need this. You will be your mind will be blown.
- 29:17Speaker 6: When dudes retired, they don't know how to access anything
- 29:21Speaker 6: and everything they done gave to us, all these numbers,
- 29:23Speaker 6: all these emails, da, no one writes them down.
- 29:28Speaker 5: No one cares because they like that. Ain't me.
- 29:31Speaker 4: They think it lasts forever, they think it last.
- 29:32Speaker 5: Way, I'm gonna be an NF. They just want.
- 29:34Speaker 3: They don't need it yet because I'll look at thinking
- 29:36Speaker 3: I'm up to speed with some of the education. There's
- 29:39Speaker 3: been times where you're telling me some of them, oh damn,
- 29:41Speaker 3: we can do that, Oh damn, we can do that,
- 29:43Speaker 3: And you just don't know all.
- 29:44Speaker 5: The research that are available. And it's so many, it's
- 29:48Speaker 5: so many.
- 29:49Speaker 6: And I was bad at it too because I was
- 29:52Speaker 6: the dude like, hey, speed this up, because I was
- 29:54Speaker 6: a leader.
- 29:55Speaker 5: On the team.
- 29:55Speaker 6: So I'll be like, yo, speed it up, like get it,
- 29:58Speaker 6: let's get it over with. We got to be back
- 29:59Speaker 6: up up here in six hours.
- 30:01Speaker 5: Yeah, So you know what I mean.
- 30:02Speaker 6: I look back and when I talk to them, guys,
- 30:05Speaker 6: I'd be like I always say I'm sorry because I
- 30:07Speaker 6: was that guy, you know what I mean, And I
- 30:09Speaker 6: didn't get all the information that I needed. But luckily
- 30:12Speaker 6: the NFL reached out to me, and now I see
- 30:14Speaker 6: all the information that's out there, and I kind of
- 30:16Speaker 6: be like, God, damn, damn. We got to change the
- 30:20Speaker 6: way we think as players just because we want to
- 30:23Speaker 6: go home. We don't want to hear the information that
- 30:25Speaker 6: benefits us.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Right because we're thinking whether it's for cover or just
- 30:29Speaker 3: going home to get on the game, whatever it is,
- 30:30Speaker 3: whatever it.
- 30:31Speaker 6: Is, because motherfuckers ain't going home to get on the playbook.
- 30:34Speaker 3: We know that.
- 30:35Speaker 6: Go home and get something else. But you know, hopefully
- 30:40Speaker 6: you know that changes. We're trying to figure out ways
- 30:43Speaker 6: to make it more where guys can take it in.
- 30:48Speaker 5: We try.
- 30:49Speaker 6: We're trying to make it where they can take all
- 30:51Speaker 6: the information that they need, but give them time to
- 30:54Speaker 6: feel like they have their own time.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it's how do you get this information? How do
- 30:58Speaker 3: you deliver in a way that can get them sparked
- 31:02Speaker 3: and interested? Yeah, versus like, Yo, we gotta get in
- 31:05Speaker 3: and get out of this thing.
- 31:06Speaker 6: Well, now I just tell them, money, man, you leaving
- 31:08Speaker 6: money on the motherfucking table.
- 31:10Speaker 5: Anytime you don't listen to.
- 31:12Speaker 6: Us when we give you information, you're leaving money on
- 31:16Speaker 6: the table, you know what I mean. Dudes I spoke
- 31:18Speaker 6: to that didn't even access they line of duty because
- 31:21Speaker 6: it was too late.
- 31:22Speaker 5: They didn't know how that was.
- 31:25Speaker 4: The one thing you was telling me about that. I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 31:27Speaker 4: I gotta fucking.
- 31:27Speaker 6: You gotta access it before it runs out. They have
- 31:30Speaker 6: a time limit on the line of duty, and cats
- 31:35Speaker 6: do not know that. They didn't even know that when
- 31:37Speaker 6: they got out the lead. They could have been getting
- 31:38Speaker 6: a check for seven years, and they struggled for those
- 31:42Speaker 6: seven years. And then they hit me like, man, my
- 31:44Speaker 6: boy told me he was getting line of duty, how
- 31:46Speaker 6: can you help me out. I'll be like running your name,
- 31:48Speaker 6: and then I'll run that name. They be like, well
- 31:50Speaker 6: he missed it. I'm like, how the fuck I'm supposed
- 31:52Speaker 6: to tell him that, you know, I supposed to sit
- 31:58Speaker 6: here and tell this man he just missed out on
- 32:00Speaker 6: seven years worth of money. Yeah, when he's telling me
- 32:04Speaker 6: he's doing bad and he needs help, and then I
- 32:07Speaker 6: can't do nothing about it because they like, well he
- 32:10Speaker 6: missed it.
- 32:11Speaker 5: That's not on us.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Like, god damn it, just the thing is too like
- 32:17Speaker 3: ultimately for everybody list like it's it's more common, it's
- 32:22Speaker 3: more think. It's just it sucks and it's sad because
- 32:25Speaker 3: we're in such an incredible spot for however long it
- 32:29Speaker 3: gets to be, it's a short period of time. But again,
- 32:32Speaker 3: whether you're sitting at a D one university on full
- 32:34Speaker 3: scholarship right now, playing any sport, whatever it is, you're
- 32:36Speaker 3: a young athlete and you're in a position to take
- 32:39Speaker 3: advantage of resources and you don't do it, yeah.
- 32:43Speaker 4: Then it's too late.
- 32:44Speaker 6: But it also falls under categories though you gotta have
- 32:47Speaker 6: three to four years under your belt.
- 32:50Speaker 5: I mean playing that's NFL.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Like, if you're fortunate enough to even make it to
- 32:53Speaker 3: the next level, you to access even the benefits, you
- 32:56Speaker 3: got to get to three or.
- 32:57Speaker 5: Four to four years.
- 32:58Speaker 4: But there's still resources of it.
- 33:00Speaker 3: I remember when I was on Peace Squad, like I
- 33:02Speaker 3: was still get to listen and everything, Like I couldn't
- 33:03Speaker 3: access for one care and nothing else. Yeah, but you're
- 33:06Speaker 3: you're still trying to like take down whatever it is
- 33:08Speaker 3: ever you need, you should get all Themation squad for
- 33:11Speaker 3: one year.
- 33:11Speaker 5: Like, but it's funny you say that the practice squad.
- 33:14Speaker 6: The practice squad guys take down more information than anybody,
- 33:18Speaker 6: cause it could be that.
- 33:19Speaker 5: This could be the only time we're getting any of
- 33:21Speaker 5: this little bit of money.
- 33:22Speaker 6: There you go, and it's it's sad because they have
- 33:25Speaker 6: the most information to try to access everything, but it'd
- 33:28Speaker 6: be like, damn, you only play two credited seasons.
- 33:32Speaker 5: I know, damn.
- 33:34Speaker 6: Like it hurts because they really do all the research,
- 33:37Speaker 6: they have all the information, and then it's just be like,
- 33:39Speaker 6: why can't I access this?
- 33:41Speaker 5: And like, look how many credit seasons? You fuck? You
- 33:44Speaker 5: still gotta cook you.
- 33:45Speaker 3: I'm like, damn, either didn't get it or hey, you
- 33:47Speaker 3: got a couple more, like you gotta make the team.
- 33:49Speaker 5: You gotta get two more? Bro Like are you?
- 33:52Speaker 6: But you know again, they do have resources, but you
- 33:56Speaker 6: don't get them benefits that you will get if you
- 33:58Speaker 6: did three or four years credit is sea and what
- 34:02Speaker 6: that changed? No, the NFL ain't dumb. They know half
- 34:05Speaker 6: the people won't get to four years. They don't want
- 34:07Speaker 6: to be paying everybody who steps for in the NFL.
- 34:10Speaker 6: You may because you probably was there for ten days. Yeah, cut,
- 34:14Speaker 6: and you think you're gonna go get a line of
- 34:15Speaker 6: duty like, no, you get what I'm saying, Like, so
- 34:20Speaker 6: sometimes you got to be realistic. You get some cats
- 34:24Speaker 6: that'd be like I was there, I got hurt. I mean,
- 34:28Speaker 6: did you play a game?
- 34:30Speaker 5: Yeah? Preseason? That ain't a game.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Athletes man take advantage of the place, the opportunities that
- 34:37Speaker 3: we get because we get such a head start on life.
- 34:40Speaker 6: Yeah, and we piss it away. We do piss it away.
- 34:43Speaker 6: And we see we're starting to see a lot. And
- 34:45Speaker 6: obviously not everybody, but it is more common then we
- 34:50Speaker 6: all want to sit here and ad mid way. More
- 34:52Speaker 6: common even on times when I'm not.
- 34:54Speaker 3: When I you know, I was time we were talking
- 34:55Speaker 3: about the line of duty earlier, I'm unaware of something
- 34:58Speaker 3: that happens. I just think to myself like fuck, man,
- 35:00Speaker 3: I don't know how did I miss that? Like you
- 35:02Speaker 3: feel kind of dumb, like, man, w what was that?
- 35:05Speaker 4: What am I doing?
- 35:07Speaker 3: Why am I not taking time to really try to
- 35:09Speaker 3: turn over every stone before it's too late?
- 35:12Speaker 6: And they got sites, they got apps. We don't access
- 35:15Speaker 6: none of them. They come here and be like download
- 35:17Speaker 6: this app. You see no one does it.
- 35:21Speaker 3: No one.
- 35:22Speaker 5: They be like, hey download this app. Ok. Yeah, they'll
- 35:25Speaker 5: be like cool, cool, cool.
- 35:27Speaker 6: No one downsloads because if you download that app, it
- 35:29Speaker 6: will tell you how much for one K got you got?
- 35:31Speaker 5: When can you access is how much this?
- 35:33Speaker 6: This? That what benefits you can access with your credited season.
- 35:37Speaker 6: But that's what my calls are. Our call dudes like, Bro,
- 35:41Speaker 6: we don't see you on the app. You've been retired
- 35:43Speaker 6: for four years.
- 35:44Speaker 5: Get on it. Oh man, what's the app? I'm like, Bro,
- 35:46Speaker 5: I'm gonna send you the app again. I emailed you.
- 35:48Speaker 6: I did this the NFL emails everybody. I'm sure you
- 35:52Speaker 6: still you get stuff from the NFL, And unfortunately.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Sometimes I just glance and I don't p attention that
- 35:58Speaker 3: I need to be attending to it.
- 36:00Speaker 6: That that's the comments I get people. I'm like, I
- 36:02Speaker 6: emailed you, Can you send it again? I put it
- 36:04Speaker 6: back at the top of my inbox. You're trying to
- 36:06Speaker 6: scroll from I can't find out you sure you sent it? Like, Bro,
- 36:09Speaker 6: we sent it, Mitch, you've been talking to Taylor. We're
- 36:14Speaker 6: actually uh. That was It was a necessary conversation because
- 36:18Speaker 6: some of this stuff.
- 36:19Speaker 3: You just get surprised by the situations these athletes get
- 36:21Speaker 3: into and you're just like, man, take advantage of where
- 36:26Speaker 3: you're at you legit don't know it is gonna end
- 36:28Speaker 3: at some point.
- 36:29Speaker 5: It's definitely and it's going to end sooner than you think.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, where they're like even getting the play, aslong
- 36:33Speaker 3: as it still ended sooner, it still was like, oh
- 36:35Speaker 3: damn that that was.
- 36:36Speaker 4: I was in college over a decade ago.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Some people looking at the cat.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Who was sitting in my seat. I'm like, I sat
- 36:42Speaker 4: right in there.
- 36:44Speaker 3: The wind in Nebraska, that cold wind that hit you
- 36:46Speaker 3: in the mouth walking to the lunch room.
- 36:48Speaker 4: I know what, I know that feeling, motherfuckers.
- 36:51Speaker 5: But some of them, dudes, that's the only feeling they
- 36:53Speaker 5: gonna get is Nebraska. They want to make it.
- 36:56Speaker 2: But you was just there.
- 36:57Speaker 4: You see everything that you can access.
- 36:58Speaker 3: While you're there, you see all the people treat you
- 37:00Speaker 3: like what you could all everybody can get to know
- 37:02Speaker 3: the network you can build.
- 37:04Speaker 6: But a lot of people don't like taking advantage of
- 37:05Speaker 6: those type of situation. They feel like, oh I'm changing,
- 37:08Speaker 6: I'm this, I'm being there where they want to.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Be in the plan a, which again, it isn't a
- 37:12Speaker 3: bad thing, but at the same time, you still gotta
- 37:14Speaker 3: you still gotta be weary of all shit can change
- 37:17Speaker 3: very true.
- 37:18Speaker 4: We got the boys zooming in or face himmon in.
- 37:21Speaker 5: Oh man in your seat, bruh.
- 37:27Speaker 7: We might got to do a content thing with Delaney
- 37:30Speaker 7: where he just gives three three things that NFL players
- 37:33Speaker 7: can access. Just a quick, smart, sixty second digestible video.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Oh yeah, maybe they'll catch it on Instagram scrolling. Oh damn,
- 37:41Speaker 3: I can do that DM DM Delaney Walker.
- 37:44Speaker 5: No, don't DMN me, NFL baby.
- 37:50Speaker 4: I remember what's up. That's fine. Whatever you get them on.
- 37:57Speaker 4: Just let us know how long do you have for
- 37:59Speaker 4: line of duty to access it.
- 38:02Speaker 6: I want to say, I think you have seven years,
- 38:05Speaker 6: seven or eight years? I think you have access. Yeah,
- 38:08Speaker 6: seven eight year window.
- 38:10Speaker 3: It's generous, generous, broy dog the benefits program if you
- 38:14Speaker 3: get vests and everything else, we have an incredible retirement program.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Even just even thinking about how important it is to
- 38:21Speaker 3: take your craft on and off the field seriously at
- 38:23Speaker 3: a young age, like I'm talking these collegues, like hearing
- 38:26Speaker 3: the Dion stuff, thinking about the Kenny Wilson stuff. I
- 38:29Speaker 3: remember BO had us in a meeting because dudes are
- 38:31Speaker 3: sleeping in class or and Bo he had a list
- 38:34Speaker 3: because all the teachers would email him.
- 38:36Speaker 4: You had a list He's like.
- 38:37Speaker 5: He'd be like, uh, Ricky t Nars sleeping in class.
- 38:41Speaker 3: He's stand up. She was ass out, like, guys, I'm
- 38:44Speaker 3: not here to babysit you. You're gonna do it all
- 38:45Speaker 3: the time. You're gonna do it none of the time.
- 38:47Speaker 3: You don't just show up on Saturdays, and I'm not
- 38:49Speaker 3: here to hold your fucking hand. Like we had class checkers.
- 38:52Speaker 5: All of it.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Bro. He'd be like, I didn't come here to win
- 38:54Speaker 3: nine fucking games and chuck a water bottle at the
- 38:56Speaker 3: wall like chew us out, bro, Like like the same
- 38:59Speaker 3: stuff that Dion and appreccause that stuff is so real.
- 39:03Speaker 6: I mean, but that also carries on, like what you
- 39:06Speaker 6: do as an athlete carries on to that to the program,
- 39:10Speaker 6: Like if they've seen you doing that, that makes look
- 39:13Speaker 6: that makes Deon look bad because it's like, well, it's
- 39:15Speaker 6: Deon not policing his students. Is he not policing his athletes?
- 39:19Speaker 6: So I get that, like because I remember one time
- 39:21Speaker 6: when I got yelled at in school. I'm like that,
- 39:24Speaker 6: let me let me turn around. You supposed to be
- 39:25Speaker 6: our star player, you failing classes.
- 39:27Speaker 3: I'm like, when you're a coaching sensing all these homes
- 39:29Speaker 3: and tells that their parents are intrusting you to lead.
- 39:32Speaker 5: Them the right way.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Sometimes you gotta you gotta, you gotta be hard.
- 39:36Speaker 6: You have to be harder to have because, yeah, when
- 39:39Speaker 6: I sat at your table, y'all laughed jokes to.
- 39:42Speaker 5: Get you here, you here now? Yeah, yeah, it's trying
- 39:46Speaker 5: to turn this ship up.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Get out of my seats, okay, to do it.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Before you we got off said thanks for the seat. Guy.
- 40:02Speaker 2: What's the boys been up to you? Hunt?
- 40:04Speaker 3: We're traveling. We were just in Nebraska. It was a
- 40:06Speaker 3: great trip. Yeah, I mean you know in Nebraska.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Bro.
- 40:09Speaker 4: By the way, your eyes look amazing.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Thanks dude. I I the reason why I was so
- 40:13Speaker 2: late is because I was setting up some lighting to
- 40:16Speaker 2: my beautiful view to make sure that you can say
- 40:18Speaker 2: that will compliment to me. So thank you.
- 40:20Speaker 4: It's a nice little room you got there. You gotta
- 40:22Speaker 4: see something.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Nice right there. Those sheets I've been through.
- 40:26Speaker 5: Hell, you got some on your face? What's that?
- 40:30Speaker 2: That's that's white people's skin. Brother, That's how it works.
- 40:32Speaker 2: We get pink and we get tangalanna. You don't know
- 40:34Speaker 2: about that.
- 40:36Speaker 5: How is it out there?
- 40:37Speaker 4: How is it out there? In the jungle, dude, it's.
- 40:43Speaker 2: I'm starting to get to the point where I'm ready.
- 40:44Speaker 2: I'm ready to come home. Oh, the first couple the
- 40:47Speaker 2: first couple of weeks, it was like super exciting and
- 40:49Speaker 2: new things are happening left and right. And now I've
- 40:52Speaker 2: like kind of gotten to the point where like I'm like,
- 40:55Speaker 2: I'm getting better at what I'm doing, so I like
- 40:58Speaker 2: it's not as like stressful anymore, and therefore I'm getting
- 41:02Speaker 2: I'm just getting poquito board.
- 41:04Speaker 5: I'll put how's how's your Spanish coming?
- 41:09Speaker 2: I see, I see, you know, I go, dude, I'll
- 41:11Speaker 2: tell you what. I was actually just down at the
- 41:13Speaker 2: breakfast spot here and I get the same thing every day,
- 41:16Speaker 2: a ros for those of you to eat Spanish, it's
- 41:19Speaker 2: chicken and rice. And the problem with the people in
- 41:23Speaker 2: Mexico City is when you say one good, like one
- 41:27Speaker 2: nice little snippet of Spanish, they all of a sudden thinking, oh,
- 41:30Speaker 2: this boy's got it, and they start ripping. It's just
- 41:32Speaker 2: start rolling the ours everywhere. So I've been having a
- 41:37Speaker 2: hell of a time down here just trying to get
- 41:39Speaker 2: anything done.
- 41:41Speaker 6: So or or do you have to speak Spanish the
- 41:43Speaker 6: whole time? And you can speak English most of the time.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I mean, dude, I'm Delaney. I'm in the weirdest like
- 41:51Speaker 2: cultural situation of my entire life. Like half of the
- 41:54Speaker 2: people literally there's there's one other American out of four
- 41:58Speaker 2: hundred people at this entire thing, and then like the
- 42:01Speaker 2: other one hundred and ninety nine are Mexican and the
- 42:05Speaker 2: other two hundred are British. So literally, I'm just getting
- 42:09Speaker 2: peppered with like British lingo and I'm getting peppered with
- 42:13Speaker 2: Mexican Mexican Spanish lingo. So it's like it's a different world, man,
- 42:17Speaker 2: it's a completely different world.
- 42:18Speaker 4: Do you find yourself your accent changing up every now
- 42:20Speaker 4: and then around the Brits?
- 42:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 42:22Speaker 2: Yeah, of course. You know Jerry Aymes, we if he
- 42:24Speaker 2: comes out, how would there love y'all?
- 42:26Speaker 5: Row?
- 42:26Speaker 2: Yeah? What were done in today? We'll go in?
- 42:29Speaker 6: Oh was do that?
- 42:30Speaker 2: And then we'll do this? Yeah okay, And actually there's
- 42:32Speaker 2: been a couple of British guys. Hey, mate, your action
- 42:35Speaker 2: is pretty good. Actually you should work on that. It's nice.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Hey, it does sound like it, but I have been practice.
- 42:43Speaker 2: There's this dude named Josh and if I could just
- 42:45Speaker 2: explain Josh, everybody, if they just closed their eyes real quick,
- 42:48Speaker 2: if you took somebody put about fifty to sixty pounds
- 42:52Speaker 2: on Johnny Depp and then put them in a room
- 42:55Speaker 2: and made them watch only Pirates of the Caribbean movies
- 42:58Speaker 2: for like three years. This is this guy. Man, he's
- 43:00Speaker 2: got that suave charismatic He also sounds like the dude
- 43:04Speaker 2: from Flight of the Concords, like, and he's like, he's
- 43:06Speaker 2: the dude that's kind of running the floor of everything
- 43:08Speaker 2: we're doing. And this dude, he's the fucking man. But
- 43:11Speaker 2: he's like, he's like a Jason Momoa Johnny Depp mix
- 43:14Speaker 2: with an art. He lives in Argentina, but he was
- 43:17Speaker 2: born in Britain. He's got this very unique cocktail of
- 43:20Speaker 2: a voice. It's beautiful.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Are you able to tease anything that is happening that?
- 43:25Speaker 3: Because I know, hey, listen, we'd be dumb if we
- 43:27Speaker 3: didn't see somebody heat that the boy's been taking about
- 43:29Speaker 3: all the everything else, And it just sucks that we're
- 43:32Speaker 3: not able to. I just I'm just like, hey, I'm
- 43:34Speaker 3: telling you, like, it's it's dope. It's gonna be dope.
- 43:37Speaker 3: It's gonna be dope.
- 43:38Speaker 2: You know what the problem is with the catching all
- 43:39Speaker 2: this heat is is when I start catching the heat,
- 43:42Speaker 2: I'm like, either the thing I'm doing is not as
- 43:44Speaker 2: cool is when it comes out.
- 43:48Speaker 5: Now I'm like, I'm telling you, I'm telling you.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, like, Yo, this dude's doing a movie
- 43:57Speaker 2: that cool.
- 44:00Speaker 7: It was like some like it was that.
- 44:02Speaker 2: I feel like you guys will find out. Don't worry,
- 44:05Speaker 2: it's not as cool as a movie. I can tease
- 44:07Speaker 2: that it's not scripted. I'll say that it is. It's
- 44:11Speaker 2: uh it, dude, it is cool, though, I think like
- 44:15Speaker 2: this thing that I'm doing, it's so it sucks so
- 44:18Speaker 2: bad not being able to just say what I'm doing
- 44:21Speaker 2: because you know how ideas work, you know how this
- 44:23Speaker 2: this world works. But like it is, Uh, it's just
- 44:27Speaker 2: a unique thing that I've never done before, and it's
- 44:29Speaker 2: been it's been a lot of fun.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Any idea then the time like whether it's this year,
- 44:34Speaker 3: at any point this year we might be able to
- 44:35Speaker 3: start talking about or is it we got to keep
- 44:38Speaker 3: our mouths shut until this is like this.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Is like a Q two of twenty five.
- 44:43Speaker 5: D jeez, I will you get to the Spring Tour
- 44:46Speaker 5: next year?
- 44:47Speaker 3: And get to play in the jokes that you'll actually
- 44:49Speaker 3: be on the spring tour. We still won't even know
- 44:51Speaker 3: what's happening. What happened? Uh at this point, I know, but.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I do want thank you for the opportunity to once
- 44:57Speaker 2: again apologize to the fans. Dude, what a shitty job
- 45:00Speaker 2: I did about being transparent with the fans. Just all
- 45:03Speaker 2: of a sudden, Ninja smoked everybody and dipped out of here.
- 45:06Speaker 2: What a terrible look.
- 45:07Speaker 4: We handled it very poorly. We handled it.
- 45:10Speaker 5: But here's what we did do.
- 45:11Speaker 3: We we took for granted how loyal our audience is
- 45:15Speaker 3: and treating them like a partner in this whole thing,
- 45:17Speaker 3: thinking like, Okay, this.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Will be you know, this will just be easy.
- 45:20Speaker 3: You know we we we've done episodes without it before,
- 45:22Speaker 3: We've had to switch stuff up before, Like, surely it won't.
- 45:24Speaker 4: We won't have the backlash that we did face.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think you and I just like reflected
- 45:30Speaker 2: back on like when I was playing football, Like, oh
- 45:31Speaker 2: so I didn't really do the podcast like six months
- 45:33Speaker 2: at a time, no one's going to care about this,
- 45:35Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah. And you're right, I think we
- 45:37Speaker 2: I think I keep saying we it's truly me Like
- 45:40Speaker 2: this is where ladies and gentlemen, you're getting a perfect
- 45:42Speaker 2: dose of why will compimated fifteen years in the NFL
- 45:45Speaker 2: locker room. Guy, I'm just always falling on the sword.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Oh over, Shawn Evans. He missed the tackle. We missed
- 45:52Speaker 2: the tackle. That's what he's talking about right here. I listen, Ah,
- 45:57Speaker 2: fucked up. I should have done a better job of
- 46:01Speaker 2: telling the people. Listen, I'm going to do this thing
- 46:03Speaker 2: that I can't really talk about. I'm not going to
- 46:04Speaker 2: be on the screen to it for the first couple
- 46:06Speaker 2: of stops, but I will be at University Alabama. I
- 46:10Speaker 2: announced that, Yes, you're still gonna come though, right.
- 46:16Speaker 4: I think it'd be fun.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Hey, Taylor, one thing that we found to be a
- 46:19Speaker 3: successful as Coach Rule. He joined us and I postedly
- 46:22Speaker 3: go with photos. I don't know how much you've gotten
- 46:24Speaker 3: to see from Nebraska, but they had the chairs set
- 46:26Speaker 3: up and we kind of sat down and ran like
- 46:28Speaker 3: a little podcast and had conversations. It was really cool
- 46:31Speaker 3: with Coach Rule, like he's telling stories and you could
- 46:33Speaker 3: just tell the I don't know.
- 46:35Speaker 4: I liked it a lot, so to the point of
- 46:36Speaker 4: Delanney coming.
- 46:37Speaker 3: I just feel like we could have some good conversations
- 46:39Speaker 3: with the boy or whoever might be joining us.
- 46:41Speaker 6: I mean, it's whatever y'all want. I just don't you know,
- 46:43Speaker 6: I know it works better. I mean when y'all interview
- 46:46Speaker 6: the coaches and stuff, y'all do the live show. I
- 46:48Speaker 6: can always come on on stage with the live show,
- 46:50Speaker 6: but I feel like when y'all do the interview, it
- 46:53Speaker 6: kind of works better with two, which is Shaw too, Like, I'll.
- 46:57Speaker 4: Be, well, the live show, you could come for the
- 46:59Speaker 4: you come for the fun.
- 47:00Speaker 5: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 47:01Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you for fun.
- 47:03Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, because I feel like the interviews, I mean,
- 47:06Speaker 6: I'll come and do all of that stuff with y'all,
- 47:08Speaker 6: but I think when y'all do that sit down or
- 47:10Speaker 6: two with the interviews, it kind of works with two,
- 47:14Speaker 6: you know what I mean?
- 47:14Speaker 3: Yeah, we could go Taylor and I for the interviews,
- 47:17Speaker 3: and Jack. We could find the role for Delaney. He
- 47:19Speaker 3: could be the question guy for like the social media
- 47:21Speaker 3: stuff hit him with, like the funk questions with the athletes.
- 47:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean something like that or whatever.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I do what do any saying right now does
- 47:30Speaker 2: make sense because they can get even hair with just me,
- 47:32Speaker 2: and you will sometimes like, yeah, people, two chefs trying
- 47:35Speaker 2: to make a pot together.
- 47:37Speaker 5: Alone three delay field a couple of times.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but the lady to be totally honest to you,
- 47:42Speaker 2: I don't I don't care if you do anything. I
- 47:45Speaker 2: just want you to go to Alabama because I want
- 47:46Speaker 2: a classic little one walker night.
- 47:49Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I'm trying to get Tennessee with the boys. Yeah, I'm
- 47:55Speaker 2: trying to get out there, be in Tuscaloosa. Talk a
- 47:58Speaker 2: little trash to the frat boys about how they couldn't
- 48:00Speaker 2: beat the University of Mission. They get mad. I pulled
- 48:03Speaker 2: back and then start giving them compliments, and we started
- 48:05Speaker 2: doing this this little wave thing with each other. Then
- 48:08Speaker 2: all of a sudden, we're throwing up in a parking lot.
- 48:09Speaker 6: That's what I want that I'm with all of that.
- 48:12Speaker 6: That's why I say I definitely come for sure. I
- 48:16Speaker 6: want to see how they turn up.
- 48:17Speaker 3: And now we'd be in the interviews, Taylor, and you
- 48:20Speaker 3: know sometimes like I'll like ask something then when my
- 48:23Speaker 3: brain will just start to slow down, and I would
- 48:25Speaker 3: sit in the middle and then I would just look
- 48:27Speaker 3: from the coach or the player and then I would
- 48:29Speaker 3: just turn to Delaney being like, well, Delanny, what you got?
- 48:32Speaker 5: What you got? I'm like, okay, here we go, Yeah, hey, Delanney.
- 48:36Speaker 2: That's the thing with Will Man. Sometimes sometimes you got
- 48:39Speaker 2: you you get to touch flow state with Will where
- 48:41Speaker 2: you know your next question up. But sometimes when Will
- 48:44Speaker 2: sit in the middle, you just always everything in your head.
- 48:46Speaker 5: What's the next question?
- 48:48Speaker 2: As soon as that as soon as that head starts
- 48:49Speaker 2: to do this, you're like, yeah, well will I have
- 48:54Speaker 2: We've established quite the situation where I'm starting to know Will.
- 48:58Speaker 2: We'll start to do We're like, hey, our brains aren't
- 49:01Speaker 2: working anymore.
- 49:02Speaker 5: We go out, Well that's how I be here. I'll
- 49:04Speaker 5: be on point when I see him by the turn
- 49:06Speaker 5: I jump on. But when I didn't have nothing, he'd
- 49:08Speaker 5: be like, what you got? Yeah?
- 49:11Speaker 3: You know how the second goes off in my head.
- 49:14Speaker 3: But one time there wouldn't even be nothing after the
- 49:16Speaker 3: second one off. I'd just be like, you gotta know
- 49:18Speaker 3: you got anything.
- 49:19Speaker 5: You'll be like what you got? Yeah? So I know
- 49:24Speaker 5: you you know what I mean. But it worked. It
- 49:28Speaker 5: worked out on the live show though, he'd be like,
- 49:30Speaker 5: I ain't got nothing entertain him.
- 49:32Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, so he'll just do that and there's
- 49:35Speaker 2: like three hundred people looking at and you're like, yeah,
- 49:38Speaker 2: I just wanna hear the story. But my mom, yeah,
- 49:41Speaker 2: it's like I don't know what to.
- 49:43Speaker 4: Say off that.
- 49:45Speaker 3: The lady when she was handing me the mic, she's like, hey,
- 49:47Speaker 3: no licking the mic this time, and I'm like, Micha
- 49:49Speaker 3: last side.
- 49:49Speaker 4: She's like, remember that story that Taylor told us, Like, oh, yeah.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I was.
- 49:52Speaker 6: She's like, you licked it. Like I didn't lick it.
- 49:55Speaker 6: She said, I took the photos last year.
- 49:58Speaker 5: I have proof.
- 49:59Speaker 2: It's like, ye did get out there, man, that photo
- 50:04Speaker 2: did get out.
- 50:05Speaker 5: There in the uh in the in the spirit of
- 50:07Speaker 5: busting with the boys, do you have any you have
- 50:08Speaker 5: any shot out?
- 50:09Speaker 4: No free shoutouts?
- 50:10Speaker 2: You have anyh yeah, I got a shout out, no
- 50:13Speaker 2: free shout out. Let me let me think real quick.
- 50:15Speaker 2: For whatever reason, I came on my show and just
- 50:17Speaker 2: forgot about the things you do, dude, shout out, no
- 50:22Speaker 2: free shout out. Mexican street dogs. There these fucking dogs.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Man.
- 50:29Speaker 2: I I literally where we're doing this thing that I
- 50:31Speaker 2: can't talk about. It's literally an hour and a half
- 50:34Speaker 2: outside of Mexico City in the in the mountains. Like
- 50:38Speaker 2: we know about the sticks of Nashville, Tennessee and the
- 50:40Speaker 2: sticks of the South where it gets a little toothy.
- 50:42Speaker 2: This is a whole different world, brother, This is like,
- 50:46Speaker 2: this is it's crazy out here. But on every street
- 50:48Speaker 2: corner there's like three or four dogs just kind of
- 50:50Speaker 2: like essentially panhandling, asking for scraps. And I was looking.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Was talking to some Mexican do with some broken English,
- 50:57Speaker 2: and he was he We eventually got to the point
- 50:59Speaker 2: where he told me that these street dogs have now
- 51:03Speaker 2: understood that they have to be good boys to get food.
- 51:07Speaker 2: If you're not a good boy, you die. So literally,
- 51:11Speaker 2: every single street dog that I've met have been the nicest,
- 51:16Speaker 2: like almost like out of the box well trained dogs
- 51:20Speaker 2: I've ever met my entire life.
- 51:22Speaker 3: Like you think yourself, You think to yourself, like, oh,
- 51:24Speaker 3: did I live with you at some point in time
- 51:25Speaker 3: and trained you to and train you to be this
- 51:27Speaker 3: good dude.
- 51:28Speaker 2: There's a dog named Paso. I named him Payso, and
- 51:32Speaker 2: he is like this, this brown probably we'll call him,
- 51:35Speaker 2: thirty five pounds, short haired guy. He got some ouchie hips.
- 51:38Speaker 2: And the first day I meet him, I feed him
- 51:40Speaker 2: a little food and then he's like we've established a
- 51:43Speaker 2: little bit of a bond where when I get to set,
- 51:45Speaker 2: he knows he has like a sixth sense. He'll be
- 51:47Speaker 2: outside my trailer and then all of a sudden, I'll
- 51:49Speaker 2: open my doors up and he can't get up the stairs.
- 51:52Speaker 2: So I'll pick him up and put him on my
- 51:53Speaker 2: trailer and I have like chicken breast for him.
- 51:55Speaker 5: We hang out.
- 51:57Speaker 2: This dude can sit, he can stay, he can say
- 52:00Speaker 2: fastil ikey I keep and he comes over no problem.
- 52:03Speaker 3: Like he is.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Dude, he's the sweetest boy in the world. He's such
- 52:07Speaker 2: a sweet boy.
- 52:08Speaker 5: You're not worried about ticks and shit and fleas street dog.
- 52:12Speaker 2: But you know me, Dalam, I'm a dirty boy.
- 52:17Speaker 6: That I do.
- 52:18Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. Every time I put my hands
- 52:20Speaker 2: on that dog, I don't touch my face or nothing
- 52:22Speaker 2: until I get some cloox, because I did on accident
- 52:25Speaker 2: one time, and I looked at my fingers and you
- 52:27Speaker 2: know when you get like the that grummy under the nails.
- 52:30Speaker 2: It was like immediately the minute I touched the dog,
- 52:32Speaker 2: my whole hand was just disgusting. Yeah, so yeah, yeah,
- 52:35Speaker 2: it's it's It's scared me a little bit and people
- 52:38Speaker 2: getting sick at here, left, right and center, like people
- 52:40Speaker 2: are getting like altitude poisoning, food poisoning. It's like here
- 52:45Speaker 2: fighting your fight.
- 52:46Speaker 4: Are you ever unsafe? Are you ever in any unsafe situations?
- 52:50Speaker 2: I think I'm I'm sixty percent safe every day at
- 52:54Speaker 2: all times. The place I'm staying, it's like in a area.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Like my driver, Miguel, who's an absolute Beautaian, speaks amazing English.
- 53:06Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, I don't know why I put you
- 53:07Speaker 2: guys in here, Like this place is not safe. So
- 53:10Speaker 2: I literally I do not leave the hotel. I come
- 53:14Speaker 2: to my room, I go to sleep, I beat, and
- 53:17Speaker 2: then I go kick and workout in the morning, and
- 53:19Speaker 2: then I go all day and do whatever I'm doing
- 53:21Speaker 2: on that Uh in the mountains.
- 53:23Speaker 5: Yeah, they don't have armed security yet they'll do no there.
- 53:26Speaker 2: They have armed security.
- 53:27Speaker 3: Bro.
- 53:28Speaker 2: If we the things we're doing, if we go past
- 53:32Speaker 2: ten pm, we have an armed caravan drive us back
- 53:35Speaker 2: to the hotel.
- 53:36Speaker 5: Hour and a half.
- 53:38Speaker 2: We were we were driving, so we like literally like
- 53:41Speaker 2: the way we travel is is like asphalt to gravel
- 53:46Speaker 2: that's like been drawn on, driven three times. Like there's
- 53:49Speaker 2: like these huge divots and who like the cort might
- 53:51Speaker 2: breakdown at any moment type stuff. And then you start
- 53:54Speaker 2: to get into the city and there's always like this
- 53:55Speaker 2: one turn with this gas station, and one day there
- 53:57Speaker 2: was like forty cop cars and I'm like, yo, what's
- 54:00Speaker 2: going on over there to Miguel, my boy, and He's like, oh,
- 54:04Speaker 2: probably a shooting does happen a lot around here, if
- 54:06Speaker 2: the cartel is really big in this area. I'm just thinking,
- 54:11Speaker 2: what am I fucking doing here?
- 54:13Speaker 3: I know, like Taylor would be a target. He's like
- 54:16Speaker 3: six seven. Look at this American guys. Yeah, if he's
- 54:20Speaker 3: got his chains and stuff on, like, he could.
- 54:22Speaker 5: Easily be you. You didn't, but you didn't bring the roly.
- 54:26Speaker 4: You know he's got the roly somewhere.
- 54:30Speaker 2: I wear I wear that watch every single day.
- 54:35Speaker 4: Your walking target.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, it was a little heavy when I picked
- 54:44Speaker 2: it up too.
- 54:46Speaker 4: How's it been being a uh uh being away from
- 54:50Speaker 4: the fam? I know it sucks.
- 54:51Speaker 3: Talk about being a uh FaceTime dad right now, because
- 54:54Speaker 3: I was at your party, by the way, great Easter party.
- 54:56Speaker 3: I know you saw your boy take the gold. Hopefully
- 54:58Speaker 3: we'll have to check the table, but gold or silver
- 55:00Speaker 3: in the sack race?
- 55:03Speaker 2: Have we decided before I get to my family, have
- 55:04Speaker 2: we decided whether or not you won.
- 55:05Speaker 5: That because you failed.
- 55:07Speaker 2: When I was the phone with tailing, she said, you
- 55:09Speaker 2: lost by a hair, but you looked like an elegant
- 55:11Speaker 2: dolphin out of the water in sea World when you
- 55:13Speaker 2: were when you were floating across.
- 55:15Speaker 5: Helen had a good view.
- 55:16Speaker 3: She got to see the kid who is like God
- 55:18Speaker 3: started to get a little scared. When I started to
- 55:20Speaker 3: really pick it up. She had a good spot. And
- 55:22Speaker 3: it hasn't been talked about, but I truly feel like
- 55:25Speaker 3: I might. I wouldn't edge that out if it feels.
- 55:26Speaker 5: Like an I think he beats you. You dove at
- 55:29Speaker 5: the end, he was coming across.
- 55:32Speaker 2: You can die. You can die. You did almost that
- 55:35Speaker 2: kid out. But my family, listen, my family is so
- 55:40Speaker 2: annoyed with me calling every time. I mean, well, we
- 55:43Speaker 2: we've talked to the phone, like my cell service is
- 55:45Speaker 2: not great. Luckily this is working out for whatever reason.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Right now.
- 55:48Speaker 2: I thought this is going to be a horrible situation.
- 55:50Speaker 2: But when I call my I literally on days like today,
- 55:54Speaker 2: I don't shoot till like nighttime, and so I was
- 55:57Speaker 2: shoot from like I have to leave here at five.
- 56:00Speaker 2: I'll get done a like eleven pm, but like from
- 56:02Speaker 2: now till five, I got nothing to do and nowhere
- 56:05Speaker 2: to go. So I'll call my family like thirty times
- 56:08Speaker 2: a day, and eventually Tan's like, listen, we do miss you,
- 56:13Speaker 2: my brother, we're doing stuff too.
- 56:17Speaker 5: It's like you're like, set me by the tree, just
- 56:19Speaker 5: set the phone down by the tree, just let me walk.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Literally tell them, will be like, uh, all right, honey,
- 56:24Speaker 2: we're gonna go do x NZI. Oh, just put me
- 56:26Speaker 2: in your pocket, sweetie, Like I'm just gonna roll with
- 56:29Speaker 2: you guys for a little bit. I think I'm gonna
- 56:31Speaker 2: come home and my family's no longer going to miss me,
- 56:33Speaker 2: like I wudn't seen enough if you make thank.
- 56:36Speaker 4: God you're home just so you don't have to call
- 56:38Speaker 4: us today.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Right right right. But it's been it's been hard. Like
- 56:42Speaker 2: if it was up to me, I would be doing
- 56:44Speaker 2: the thing I'm doing from like seven am to ten
- 56:46Speaker 2: pm every night. That way, I don't think about it
- 56:48Speaker 2: because days like today, when it's like I have nothing
- 56:51Speaker 2: to do till later in the afternoon, it sucks because
- 56:54Speaker 2: you just sit there and you're like, you know, I
- 56:56Speaker 2: miss tailoring, and I miss the two girls and they're
- 56:58Speaker 2: in Canada, and I'm like, damn, I just you know,
- 57:00Speaker 2: all the Easter party happens, and then this happens. And
- 57:03Speaker 2: then I'll look at Willow, look how big she's getting.
- 57:05Speaker 2: It's like, how is she going this much in just
- 57:06Speaker 2: a couple of weeks? And then and then I get
- 57:08Speaker 2: sad boy. You know, I get sad boy on the
- 57:11Speaker 2: bed by myself, and I'm like, man, and the boys
- 57:14Speaker 2: out there, No, now they're in Alabama or not. Now
- 57:17Speaker 2: they're in Nebraska. A rule, Who's who's a beauty? He's
- 57:21Speaker 2: with them all the lingus. He's having a good time.
- 57:23Speaker 2: So did I just get in this like this sad
- 57:25Speaker 2: boy type of situation?
- 57:27Speaker 5: Yeah? I bet, dude.
- 57:28Speaker 4: But hey, they know you're crushing it out there.
- 57:32Speaker 2: You Lucy, Uh huh Lucy. Lucy has been the only
- 57:37Speaker 2: thing that's been keeping going. And also can I I
- 57:40Speaker 2: know everyone's always like the ads, the ads. This shirt, dude,
- 57:44Speaker 2: this is a true classic x L long. And I'm
- 57:48Speaker 2: wearing some sweatpants too, but look how long that is.
- 57:51Speaker 2: Bro talk about how comfortable they are, and it's like,
- 57:54Speaker 2: do you see my shoulders? You tell me?
- 57:56Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 57:56Speaker 2: Like I feel like I'm not even wearing a shirt,
- 57:59Speaker 2: but it like grabs my chest and leut's a little
- 58:02Speaker 2: bit out on the tummy, which is really nice for
- 58:04Speaker 2: me because sometimes you put kitch your boy in on
- 58:06Speaker 2: xcel it's very difficult. But bro, these shirts are unbelievable.
- 58:11Speaker 2: And they're making me thirty six thirty six pants right now,
- 58:14Speaker 2: which I can't wait because you know, I wear the
- 58:16Speaker 2: same two pairs of pants every single day. It's gonna
- 58:18Speaker 2: be nice to have a new, a new setup. So
- 58:21Speaker 2: these Yeah, but these shirts are incredible. I'm so comfortable.
- 58:24Speaker 2: I get compliments all the time on them. All of
- 58:26Speaker 2: the time.
- 58:26Speaker 3: I'm rocking a true classic as well. Right now, we
- 58:29Speaker 3: got to get Delaney in the mix. We've been telling
- 58:31Speaker 3: them about it. You know, they send us like three
- 58:32Speaker 3: thousand to give out in Nebraska. They're all about They're
- 58:35Speaker 3: all about passing them out in a free QR code.
- 58:37Speaker 3: I'm telling everybody in line, like, hey, literally, free shirts,
- 58:40Speaker 3: free merch.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Free shirts. But look ad he asked for with that
- 58:44Speaker 2: whether with a free shirt, It's that's ridiculous, right. One
- 58:47Speaker 2: thing too now shooting slips and picks. I know, I'm
- 58:50Speaker 2: jumping away back to the fall, Delaney said, he's got
- 58:52Speaker 2: about one hundred snaps left in him. We all disagreed.
- 58:55Speaker 2: I saw you guys in Nebraska do an inclined run. Yeah,
- 58:59Speaker 2: And I think, for the first of my life, I
- 59:01Speaker 2: saw a black guy get beat by a white guy.
- 59:03Speaker 6: When have you ever seen me be a conditioning guy?
- 59:06Speaker 6: That was like a conditioning edition talking about.
- 59:15Speaker 2: We have one hundred reps in the NFL. He said
- 59:18Speaker 2: you could go and suit up in the NFL and
- 59:20Speaker 2: understands you can't do. You can't go up at hill twice.
- 59:23Speaker 5: You gotta see this. Here it goes, it goes higher.
- 59:26Speaker 5: Look after it goes saw the video. He didn't see
- 59:29Speaker 5: the whole thing. He's good, He's got the train.
- 59:33Speaker 6: At the end of the day, he barely won. I
- 59:35Speaker 6: had on heavy sweats, I had on air forces that
- 59:38Speaker 6: was not tied. My man tied his shoes right before
- 59:42Speaker 6: that because I thought it was him and Coach was
- 59:43Speaker 6: supposed to get.
- 59:44Speaker 5: Down and I've seen you.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Listen, listen, we're.
- 59:48Speaker 6: Gonna we're gonna run it again. We're gonna run it
- 59:50Speaker 6: back in Oregon. We're gonna run something in Oregon. I
- 59:53Speaker 6: don't know about. I'm just saying we're gonna run something.
- 59:58Speaker 2: But funny twenty fifteen. Yeah, we're in New England. Zach
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Mettenberger throws a Shaller cross to you over the middle.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: You end up stiff arming two guys, hurdling guys and
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: out running a dB into the end zone. Of course,
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: we lost that game by twenty eight points, but that
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: was the highlight of the season. We only won three games. Yeah,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: you're washed up. That's over, bro, Man, you can't. I
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: will always like you know how. It's like, hey man,
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: I hope I'm never in a wheelchair, so my kids
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: don't see me in this way. I want them to
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: always view me as a strong man, as my brother
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: in arms who I've gone.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: To war with.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: I'll always view you as that Delandy Walker. But this
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: the lady Walker. I got as old it.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: It made you say you're too slow.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: At the end of the day, he came out and
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: being truthful like, yeah, what I'm taking got me right.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: I'm like, I've seen it. He got him over the top.
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: It's good.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: It's just he was a little say, and you know,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: I still got some juice, you know what I mean?
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: Yeah, you turned it on. Because I was like, hey,
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: you turned it on.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: I feel what Taylor saying to like it almost. I
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: was almost sad when I beat you, like damn.
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: We one in one see out jumped you vert higher
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: than yours. You beat me up at he'll climb, I
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: give you that. It made me sad.
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: We get your he'll climb next time. Next time we're
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: doing coverage, we just look up to you, man, I know.
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: But we're gonna do coverage though, Taylor, and you could
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: beat the quarterback for Alabama. We're gonna do it at Alabama. Well,
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: Taylor be the quarterback. We're gonna play cup both ways.
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: You cover me once, I cover you once. So we
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: got both opportunities.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: Okay, yeah the.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: First tif you don't want the quarterback, I'll be I'll
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: be the coach. You know what I no, you know
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: I can't throw a ball like that like I want.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: I want to be fair for y'all, and so I
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: want So what does this get the actual Alabama quarterback
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: in there?
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: Yeah, that'd be good, that'd be good.
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: I'm about the route. I'm a about to bring shorts.
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: Watch you think I'm playing.
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: I came, I was up you.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: That's that's your ship talking to Will Goes.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: I'm not the route you go. I'm gonna wear shorts.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: He ain't wronged with nothing.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: If I got on some cream, I got on some clothes.
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: Man, if I got some clothes, you ain't doing none
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: of it.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: If I got on some clothes, dude acts like he
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: had ten pounds of gear on.
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: I had on them heavy ass sweats. I couldn't show.
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: I couldn't even know heavy as sweats.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: Bro brouh. I couldn't even get no leg leg being
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: in them things.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Hey, well, it's always hard to watch these football players. Man,
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: after it's over there and they still got it.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: It's just like you said, this is the Laney one.
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: I don't have it. I know I could be will
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: I don't need.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: Time for one thing.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Fourteen years in the NFL, Lanny.
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: Walker broken ankle ge hip dropp.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw that. I was there. I held you
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: in my arms. I know you did because I got
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: knocked you up, and then we had that long delay. Yeah,
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: and then when you broke your leg, I went the
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: X or right right. One of us was Ryan, Actually
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: both of us are, and I held you right here.
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: You're gonna be fine, right because I got we both
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: was in there, geared up we was both hurt.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I was.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: I remember that.
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Yeah, well before before de Lanny broke, was like we
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: were in that first little like I don't know, one
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: hour delay. We were outside and I like just got
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: knocked out and I was kind of like walking around.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: I was like out in like the area where like
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: the fans could look down and see you, and one fan,
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: one fan started yelling at me. So I started yelling
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: at the fan and started crying again, and he was like, man,
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: what you doing?
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Come here.
- 1:03:39Speaker 8: So sad?
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: You don't say that, you start breaking down and crying.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Boy, you're not good.
- 1:03:45Speaker 11: You're not good.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Start crying.
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: I was ready to go home at that point. I
- 1:03:50Speaker 5: did not want to play.
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: We all, I think we all. I think we were
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: all like, man, I hope this storm takes us, takes
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: it down.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: Nope. Seven hours later, Yeah, you ready to play? Yeah,
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: I know y'all.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: I know y'all have talked about it, and I hate
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: to bring up other things with this hip drop rule.
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: Yeah, where do we stand?
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: I'll start with you.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: Will you know where I stand. I think it's a
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: bad rule.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: I think it's I think it's a I think it's
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: because in my opinion, it's gonna be something that continues
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: to happen no matter what because it's not an intentional thing.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: And I think at some point in the year it's
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: going to like cost it's going to like be a
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: call that costs costs the game. Of course, gotta get
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: like if you know you got the fines. I understand
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: that we don't want to tackle in there, but it's
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: not an intentional It's not an intentional tackle.
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: For me.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: It's it's just like targeting is like going high when
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: they're doing all that stuff over the middle, like yeah,
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: you're you're you're picking your shot, but this one is like,
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: you know, you get Alstone Delaney, like you get beat
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: on a quick step and you're all you're doing is
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: trying to stop them from progressing forward anymore.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: That's it.
- 1:04:53Speaker 6: I don't even though it took the end of my career,
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: I'm still like I'm against it. I don't think that
- 1:04:59Speaker 6: it should be a rule. Again, it's football. You sign
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: up for football. Back in the day was get the
- 1:05:05Speaker 6: guy on the ground. However you have to get him
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: on the ground. I remember in the high schools like
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: if you got rollers ankle, roll his ankle, it's almost
- 1:05:11Speaker 6: like you're not trying to do it, but it happens
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: in the game. I'm just trying to get you down.
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: And I feel like this is gonna be a factor,
- 1:05:19Speaker 6: Like you said, that will change games, that will be
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: the This tackle will change winning games.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: I promise you that guys will have be leading down
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: the field.
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: They're gonna trying to stop them so they won't get
- 1:05:32Speaker 6: in field goal position. Get this tackle fifteen yards put
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: them in field goal position in the game right then
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: and there. That's where I feel like it's gonna play
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: a big part and the outcome of a lot of games.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: Yeah, it might be rare, but once it happens, it's
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: gonna be it's gonna blow up.
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: We'll see after this. I mean, they said it's only
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: for one year, right, this rule is only gonna be
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: for one year.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: You know all new rules are under review. Yeah after
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: one year. Yeah, I agree, I agree. You Like, I
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: hate seeing obviously, like the landing, you going, you going
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: down to other guys talking. We're like talking a lot
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: about how this is hurting me. I missed six weeks
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: because of this. I'm happy this rule's going. I think
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: it's dumb. I think it's like the what they want,
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: what they're trying to do is good, like keep everybody safe, right,
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: but this is this is one of those things that's
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: like you, this is your signing up for this. No
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: one like he said, well, going high on a dude
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: when he's not, he's defensives those types of things, fully understand.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: It's always good. I'm always a look back at those
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: early two thousands highlight videos of the NFL when they're
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: showing the trailers and be like, damn, that will never
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: happen again. But like with the hip Drop, bro, the
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: hip Drop is like it's gonna be It's gonna cause
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: more problems than solutions.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: True, yeah, because it's like, yeah, yeah, it's just gonna
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: be a tough rule. I do like to kick off
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: the new kickoff rule though. I like the new kickoff
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: kickoff return rule.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: I mean, explain to me that rule, like, so, how's
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: it work?
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Essentially, like the kickoff team starts and what mits the
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: forty five yard line? Is it the forty five? Yeah,
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: and the kickers now kicking off. You have to kick
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: it in the landing zone. So if you kick it
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: out of the end zone or in the end zone.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: That's like, yeah, it's like a penalty against the kicking team.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: Or if it.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: Right, if they do a touchback, like you kick it
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: out of the en zone, they'll get their touchback will
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: now be at the thirty five. But if you do
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: if you do one where it hits the landing zone
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: and rolls into the end zone right, that would be
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: a touch back to the twenty.
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: Yeah, that'd be a touch back to the twenty. If
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: it's like if it's one of those.
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: He's got a land in a certain spot, you got
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: like twenty five yards right.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: And the kickoff team can't take off until the ball
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: is fielded until he catch it right right, So it'll
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: be I think it'll.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: Be more of like an offensive and defensive play.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: Like I was telling to Laney, I wouldn't be surprised
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: if there's like a couple a couple of starters in
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: some of these situations like running a play back there,
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: because I think it'll be more of like a strategic play.
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: It's one on one blocking throughout people is one on
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: one blocking. Everybody has a man you have to block them.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: So if you have like a maybe not like your
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: best linebacker, but if you have like a starting linebacker
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: out there, like a you're only covering for like twenty
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: five yards. It's a faster play, like even guys who
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: are blocking like you know, not saying you, but maybe
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: like an athletic O lineman or a really good blocking
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: tight end that starts that is that can block for
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: like five seconds or a few seconds.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: It's like I could see those guys getting out.
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: There, but down to me, I feel like that's gonna
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: hurt our roster because if this does take off, now
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: we don't need that many guys on a special team
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: roster because again, like you said, if we put starters
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: out there, how does that hurt the guys that were
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: just making a team for special teams for kickoff purposes?
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: I think it'll still be the same kind of cats.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: Like I think the guys who make it for special teams,
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: those guys are there.
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: They're you know how they are.
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: I mean, you were one before you became like a
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: superstar tight end like these are. You're you weren't.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: Just because this rule comes in place doesn't mean some
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: other some linebacker was going to outplay you, because you
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: still turn to film and you're still a demon covering kicks.
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: And blocking and everything else. So I still think those
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: guys will be on there. You know, it could just
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: be spotty to where you don't have to have like
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: four core guys that you might just have one or
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: two instead of Hey, if you're backup, you got to
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: play on every special Yeah yeah, okay that makes sense.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: But yeah, and there's also like three other course of
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: the special teams, right pine punt return, Yeah, yeah, you.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: Still got punt return part return defense.
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: Really you almost had your starters on pun return too, though,
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: pretty much.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I was not graduations.
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: Yeah, some situation. They didn't come out.
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: I never got to be on punt return because they said,
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: uh coach Awkoul always say my arms are too short.
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: Really yeah, bro which I thought was so stupid.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: But hey, you know, get a little you got short
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: arms though.
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: Yeah I do.
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: I do have short arms.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: But uh, hey, thanks for joining us, Broo. Yeah, I
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: mean shit, Delaney and I went for I mean we
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: probably how long we we're at an hour fifteen right now?
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Yeah, who's up today? Who we got?
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Michael Bisbee? That'll be a fun one.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: That'll be a fun one. A great storyteller. All he
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: was chirping himself, chirping his eye, his accents incredible to
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: everyone's gonna really enjoy it.
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of charisma.
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: He was falling, he was.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: He's a fun interview, which is, by the way, that's
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: a key word with the British around here. They call
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: it terras. Oh you have terrors, mate, Oh you go
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: on max terrors right now?
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: That seems like a nice little compliment. Maybe that's where
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: risk comes from.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they're they're doing their thing right now. Anyway, boys,
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: I love you boys in the back if you can
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: hear me, I love you too. I miss you guys.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: I cannot wait to be back. Hold you guys in
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: my arms, give you some love and go to Alabama
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: with y'all.
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: All right, brother, we love you too. All right, my guys,
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: y'all see you later, he says, he loves and missage
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: you boys. What else do we got? What else do
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: we got on here?
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: Where's my.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: My little papers right here? Should we hit it? Should
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: we hit an ad read and have a little bit
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: of fun with twisted question?
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: Mitch? All right?
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: Twisted Tea is a refreshing, hard iced tea made with
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: real brewed tea and five percent alcohol full of flavor
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: and very refreshing twist tea goes down smooth and there's
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: no carbonation, which makes it easy to drink all day long.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: We had the twist he's flowing at this last live show.
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: Oh wait, you did a great job on the chug off.
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: I killed him. Yeah, you killed them, You killed them.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: I tried to giving somebody some mull being like, oh
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: you still got something, but you were you crushed it.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: It is the perfect alcohol beverage for.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: Game day, whether tailgating in the parking lot, watching at
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: a bar, or watching with friends at home.
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: Twist the Tea is there to turn up your game day.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: So keep it twisted with the boys and go grab
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: a refreshing twist the tea today, Mitch, bring us a
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: twist the question, bro.
- 1:11:32Speaker 12: So, this question comes from a fan at the live show.
- 1:11:36Speaker 12: He pulled up one for me and then I took
- 1:11:39Speaker 12: a picture of it. But this is what he said,
- 1:11:44Speaker 12: and this is what he wanted to ask them.
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: Say, suspect is it because they was saying something We're gonna.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: Say if you're coming to the Alabama Live Show or
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: in Nashville when we when we do that one, like
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: come correct, correct? I mean it gets and listen, I
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: understand the fan base that we've built, but it's all
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: it's too much about dick suck.
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: Yeah too much, Yeah, way too much.
- 1:12:03Speaker 12: This one's kind of it's it's not in that realm,
- 1:12:05Speaker 12: but it's kind of disgusting.
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: Okay, all right.
- 1:12:08Speaker 12: Would you rather drink a cup of spit from someone
- 1:12:11Speaker 12: who was chewing tobacco or make out with someone who
- 1:12:13Speaker 12: has all of their teeth rotten?
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: Oh my oh god. That is a good one though,
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: It's just bad either way. Give me it's a drink
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: after someone who's been dipping, or.
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: Basically drink a spit cup or make out somebody with
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: rotten teeth.
- 1:12:30Speaker 10: How much are you drinking?
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: You said, spit cup? All of like whatever their spit is.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: Like, this is bringing back a very bad memory because
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: I accidentally took down I started drinking my dad's and
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: I was so fucking mad because it was it was
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: it was my place where when I was living off Charlotte.
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: He had visited and he had like a oh my god,
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: it makes you sick thinking about it.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: I was so like just pissed off, like God, damn it,
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: you guys out there with your spit cups and everything else.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: You have to clean that shit up at all times.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: It should never be out there sitting.
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: Loose all day. And when I was in college, every
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: cup on the table spit in it. Give me a skank, dude,
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: let me make out the skank.
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: I'm a follow lead. I'm kissing rotten teeth. Yeah, hey,
- 1:13:19Speaker 6: bad breath.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: Give me somebody sitting outside of cheap smokes looking for
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: a little bit of cash.
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: Yeah, throwing up either way. Yeah, but the cup Loki
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: getting into it.
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: I'm just saying, you get a few twists, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: you get a few twisted tea's in you.
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: Yeah, go hog hunting boys, That's what that's my answer. Yeah,
- 1:13:42Speaker 8: I'm kissing what are you doing?
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: What are you doing? Skank? Yeah? I love.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: I was just make all the skank, not even the
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: rotten teeth anymore, Mitch, is anybody is anybody hitting the
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: spit cup?
- 1:13:54Speaker 10: The reason I asked how much would make a difference because.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: I have, let's say, and no free shoutouts to ethan rust,
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: but let's just say it's up to here.
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: That's too much.
- 1:14:05Speaker 10: That is grainy, Like there's like it's like just more
- 1:14:09Speaker 10: of the long cuts in there.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Too.
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: Yeah, he took it out, just a couple.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: There's a couple of pieces.
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: Oh, man makes me, Oh my god, it really does
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: kind of make me a little.
- 1:14:22Speaker 10: I've actually done it with that and like a cigarette ash,
- 1:14:27Speaker 10: and that one was probably worse.
- 1:14:30Speaker 5: Oh I can only imagine. So which one you going
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: give me the skink?
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: Boy, oh, but I don't think I like that one. Hey,
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: did you see the uh.
- 1:14:47Speaker 13: Jack I'm making out?
- 1:14:50Speaker 11: I've drank my own dip spit by accident while I
- 1:14:52Speaker 11: was driving one time.
- 1:14:53Speaker 13: And like, even just your own spit is foul.
- 1:14:56Speaker 11: So thinking about another man's or woman's out there, and.
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: It makes me nauseous thinking about that.
- 1:15:02Speaker 13: Just yeah, it gives me the fucking chills.
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: I don't even think I can just take a regular
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: spitball in the mouth, like somebody just spit your chick,
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: just spit in your mouth.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: It depends on what kind of mood I'm in.
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: Maybe wow, you I would say no, but you just know,
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: you know how you get a little animalistic when it
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: gets crazy.
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: I can't do it. I can't do it.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: Everybody out there nine nine percent of the time I
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: would not do that. Yeah, yeah, oh fuck, did uh Jack?
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: Just brought up, just brought the notes again. Did you
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: see the uh Stefan Diggs going to Houston number one?
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: Houston's lotus.
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: I told you Houston is gonna be it. Well even
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: the digs trade, But now with the digs trade.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: Oh my god, you got what digs Collins, Dell, Dell,
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: Noah Brown, John match you yeah?
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: Man?
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: The squad running back, crowd dealing.
- 1:16:04Speaker 9: Mix and peers, yes, Salt and Shoultz slow it calling
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: it defense Ryan Head coach.
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: I mean, that's it.
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: A squad. I'm not gonna lie. I hate to say
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: this because you know what division I'm all about with
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: God damn.
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: Might have to put the futures on them right now.
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: It's gonna be tough do it. They probably lose, might
- 1:16:23Speaker 5: have to put a future he said, they probably lose.
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: Help us out?
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Well, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was thinking about going
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: uh yukon to cover, but they were so it was
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: so big. I didn't feel like that would help out
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: too much. And I was just honestly, if I would
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: have been on both those games, I would have lost both.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: But do you you guys covered right?
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: Maybe I would have won that one.
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: Then do you think he wanted that trade or do
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: you think the bills was just like we had enough? Well?
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: What was that? Was that trade? A little bit?
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: A little bit of post on.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: Obviously they've had their situation so aut the last couple
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: of years that you've heard about. But because you saw
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: somebody say, can Josh Allen win without an elite wide receiver?
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: I want to say that that whoever was tweeting about
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: it was alluding to, yeah, he can still do it
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: without a receiver, and Stefan replied underneath, like oh you
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: think so?
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: Like damn, man, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: What kind of relationship did they have?
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: I feel like I don't really know.
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: I don't know them personally, because if you're if you're
- 1:17:24Speaker 6: if that's your man, is that your boy, you're not
- 1:17:26Speaker 6: saying that, Yeah, you're not gonna say that.
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: Or you might just say there's no doubt that he
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: you know, he's a You might just say something that
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: meant nothing at all, probably, but if you said anything,
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: you'd probably be giving flowers.
- 1:17:36Speaker 6: I'd be like, no, he can definitely ball with any
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: he can spend with anybody, right that man, you may
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: not mean it, but you you know, you're not gonna
- 1:17:43Speaker 6: shoot at him, like take.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: That's right, Like unfortunately the business got in the way,
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: but it had nothing. You know, you're kind of putting
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: out that fire of that flame. But he kind of
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: went like.
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: Josh kind of was upset about the trade, though, felt
- 1:17:54Speaker 6: like I feel like he was more upset about losing
- 1:17:58Speaker 6: him than he was upset about leaving.
- 1:18:01Speaker 10: Also lost Gabe Davis like two weeks.
- 1:18:03Speaker 8: Oh yeah, that's true. He losing everybody in their cats
- 1:18:07Speaker 8: many straight up. Marvin Harrison, I think, what's the yeah, yeah, here, yeah,
- 1:18:15Speaker 8: here it is.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: RG three had tweeted a Stefan Diggs essential to Josh
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: Allen success.
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: He has been since he got the Buffalo in twenty twenty.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: They are better together than if Stefan Diggs and Josh
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: Allen stay together with the Buffalo Bills this year, their
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: championship window is wide open. And then somebody replied the
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: peaky pirate. Does Josh benefit from having a top two receiver?
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: Yes?
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: Is he essential to his success?
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: No?
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: And then Stefan replied under that you sure, wow, is
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: that really him? Yeah? Oh yeah, but you know he's
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: out there. Look at that.
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: He just got that focused at that little instinct that
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: you know he sees everything.
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: He keeps receives. Oh yeah, oh yeah, definitely.
- 1:18:54Speaker 6: He's a monster. Though, No, he gonna ball out over
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: there in Houston. I'm just that's just what if they.
- 1:19:01Speaker 10: Don't get him the ball that much because they have
- 1:19:03Speaker 10: so many.
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: People, it'd be a probably, I think it'd be an
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: issue for Meigs.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: You look at it because he's with Minnesota right before
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: that for a while and he was awesome for the
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: majority of the time. The up trading him because there
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: are some issues, right, you get the first the first
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: time he was at Buffalo.
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: He's crushed it every year he's been in there.
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: He is an elite wide receiver, but he always seems
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: to have a good splash positive first year because there's
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: not a whole lot to be upset about yet. But
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: as it gets going, I feel like the longer he
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: says with the team, there's some of those little things. Yeah,
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: and you understand the mentality is somebody who wants the ball,
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: who's like an e lead player too.
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: We not winning, give me the ball. But that's the problem.
- 1:19:38Speaker 6: He going to a team that already got ballers. They
- 1:19:42Speaker 6: were already they was balling before he got there. Yeah,
- 1:19:45Speaker 6: he used to go on to teams where they not balling,
- 1:19:48Speaker 6: and it's him. He's the man, right, he's the face.
- 1:19:52Speaker 6: He needs the ball. Do Houston take that? If he
- 1:19:55Speaker 6: doesn't get the ball, they now spreading it around. I mean,
- 1:19:58Speaker 6: look what Houston has right now, Look what they did.
- 1:20:02Speaker 6: Just what the guys they have, and they were injured
- 1:20:05Speaker 6: most of the time, and then when the one guy
- 1:20:07Speaker 6: was healthy, the other guy was injured, they really never
- 1:20:10Speaker 6: played together. We'll see, you know, he's going to.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: A team that, like, obviously he's elite, he's every area,
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: every team could use him. But he's going to a
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: team that doesn't necessarily need him because we're a little slot.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: Because he'll outside. Yeah, but he'll be the guy. He'll
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: still be the one.
- 1:20:28Speaker 6: I mean, they'll is faster. Let's be real, he's faster.
- 1:20:33Speaker 6: He a slot guy, but they're gonna have to move.
- 1:20:35Speaker 6: Who's gonna go outside? Who's gonna play the Z?
- 1:20:38Speaker 12: Nico, Nico, Nico, It'll be Nico Collins. You don't think
- 1:20:43Speaker 12: Nico played the X. No, that's that's that normal way
- 1:20:48Speaker 12: you put your better guy.
- 1:20:49Speaker 6: Yeah, the X usually the big boy, and that's our
- 1:20:54Speaker 6: receiver expert I feel you. So you think Digg's gonna
- 1:20:57Speaker 6: be the I was an ex college you think, yeah,
- 1:21:01Speaker 6: you were, man. You know why I say Digs don't
- 1:21:03Speaker 6: not gonna be the X. The X guy usually the
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: stationary guy. He's not the motion guy. Diggs like to
- 1:21:08Speaker 6: move across. He likes to go across because he likes
- 1:21:12Speaker 6: to get up and where they can't press him. He
- 1:21:14Speaker 6: got that way to make all these option routes, to
- 1:21:16Speaker 6: run that corner route. He loves to run so much.
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: I just I don't know.
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: I don't they'll know what to do with them because
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: they come from they come from that Niner system. They
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: come from that philosophy, so you have all those different weapons,
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: like they'll find they'll find ways.
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: But I think he'll still be the guy. He'll still
- 1:21:30Speaker 5: be the one.
- 1:21:31Speaker 6: I feel like Colin stepped up so big last year
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: that you have no choice to try to see if
- 1:21:39Speaker 6: he can be He runs mad too, you feel me.
- 1:21:42Speaker 6: Just some of the plays he made. I don't know,
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: we'll see. It's gonna be exciting to see what they
- 1:21:48Speaker 6: do with all the playmakers that they just got because
- 1:21:51Speaker 6: they have a lot of playmakers.
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: Now, yeah, yeah, they do.
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: They do one segment we've been we've been working on
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: recently is our Dad Talk Our Dads are Dad segments?
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: You got any good dad stories? As a recent I'll
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: uh while you sit there and think your boy built.
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: What I mean by built? I put together the four wheeler.
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: Then my dad got her for Christmas as like a
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: one and a half year old. It h's like for
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: ages three and up. It goes like three miles an hour.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: But you press the button, she's got to hit the
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: gas and stuff. But we put it together yesterday because
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: I was like, let's get her on that cause she's
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: got these you know, she's got the little red car
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: that I got to push around in. But she's got
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: this little horse heat where they just got to do
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: with their feet, and it's like, yo, let's get some
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: you know that shit's boring and sucks. You just got
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: to try to move everything with your feet. So I'm like,
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: let's get her on some electronic thing. I might have
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: to get her the remote control horsepower. Yeah, let's get
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: some horsepower underneath her. So I put together that four
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: wheeler yesterday. I forget what it's called. On it, it's
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: like an XR three fifty.
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: I will say this.
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: I tried, but I'm way too big.
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: It could have helped me, like if I could like
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: fit everything, but I like, I'm way too big because
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: it was thirty it's thirty now. But she's fired up
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: off the send you a photo that you can put up,
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: of the senior photo that you can put up, and
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: she takes it, and I gotta go with her, right
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: because like three miles an hour, you can't just flip
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: it on my hey, press the grass, I'm holding the
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: handleb or some kind of like you know, fast walking
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: with her next to her. But one time I let
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: her go, like stop stop, She's boomed right into the garage.
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: It was funny though it was caught her like last minute,
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: like she thought it was funny, but she couldn't. Like
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: we got to teach her how to press the gas
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: and let off the gas when it's time to stop.
- 1:23:26Speaker 11: I was talking about this is one of my friends
- 1:23:27Speaker 11: the other day, and I think it's really important for
- 1:23:30Speaker 11: kids to learn how to get hurt at a young age.
- 1:23:33Speaker 13: Yeah, I give them the opportunity to.
- 1:23:35Speaker 11: Fall down because like at some point or another, like
- 1:23:38Speaker 11: as adults, you kind of like stop taking those risks,
- 1:23:41Speaker 11: like trying to climb a really high tree or jump
- 1:23:43Speaker 11: off of a roof to impress your friends, but learning how.
- 1:23:46Speaker 13: To fall as a kid.
- 1:23:47Speaker 11: I think instill is like a really good sense of confidence,
- 1:23:50Speaker 11: like in yourself as you move into adulthood, even though
- 1:23:53Speaker 11: we're at jumping off roofs anymore. When you're able to
- 1:23:56Speaker 11: fall as a kid and get hurt, there is a
- 1:23:58Speaker 11: sense of like you kind of of art as protective
- 1:24:02Speaker 11: as much over your kid.
- 1:24:03Speaker 13: I don't know, I don't know. I'm speaking with zero
- 1:24:05Speaker 13: children here.
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: No, you're you're one hundred percent right.
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: It's also it's also like Charle and I we got
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: to talk about it because we got to be in
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: the moments of when something happens, like have zero reaction
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: or like oh like oh, because then they like hear
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: your action thing like oh I mustn't be heard or something. Yeah,
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: and then they start crying. Because she was going today
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: and she was kind of going on my driveway. She
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: had like free range and stuff, and she was going
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: and she's like coming towards me and Charle's like stop stop,
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: And when I like, I'm like Charles, She's she's driving
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: to me, Like you can't just yell because in her
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: brain she's gonna hear a loud voice to where she's
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: trying to think on her feet in a moment.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: Maybe she's not, but we try to be kind.
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: Sometimes it's hard, like the fall, and you'll like, you
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: like got to like grab your voice from doing anything,
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: and like, let's see how they react by just standing up.
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: I knowed you fall because sometimes she'll hit the she'll
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: hit hard and scrape her knee on the ground. She
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: want nothing will happen, but then she might fall and
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: feel a little embarrassed and she might start crying a
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: little bit. But no, you're one hundred percent right. You're
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: one hundred percent right not to get involved with them.
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: Try to experiment on doing something that Okay, they can
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: probably get hurt here.
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I kind of That's what I do with my kids.
- 1:25:06Speaker 6: And it's funny you bring that up because like my
- 1:25:09Speaker 6: youngest is a super cry baby.
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: Like if my oldest be like I don't like you,
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: I hate you, I don't like you.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: Need it.
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: I'm like, yo, it's not that serious. Are you bleeding?
- 1:25:21Speaker 6: Like I always say, you don't cry unless you really bleeding.
- 1:25:24Speaker 6: Like we hate No, people don't like crybaby. So one
- 1:25:27Speaker 6: time my daughters in them were playing and they got
- 1:25:30Speaker 6: these four wheelers too. Because I'm crazy like that, I
- 1:25:33Speaker 6: just put them on and like, yo, don't teach them
- 1:25:34Speaker 6: how to stop or none. They learn as they go,
- 1:25:37Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying, because like they got it,
- 1:25:39Speaker 6: you know when they they got to get a little tough,
- 1:25:41Speaker 6: you know what I mean. They my youngest is baby,
- 1:25:43Speaker 6: my oldest one is really tough tom boys. So I
- 1:25:47Speaker 6: got them on these four wheelers and they smacking I'm
- 1:25:49Speaker 6: talking about and it's snowing, so they doing donuts and
- 1:25:52Speaker 6: sliding it all over the spot. And I get a
- 1:25:54Speaker 6: little scared, like let me not say that, like let
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: me let them fill it out. So she's right, my
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: youngest crash, she gets up, she crying.
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: I go, you good, I'm not bleeding. That's the first
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: thing she said. She could always be like are you bleeding? No,
- 1:26:12Speaker 5: then why you crying? Don't cry? You're not bleeding.
- 1:26:15Speaker 6: Like that's like my number one thing because so they
- 1:26:17Speaker 6: can understand, like if you fall and don't hurt yourself,
- 1:26:20Speaker 6: you don't have to cry about it, but like, yeah,
- 1:26:21Speaker 6: if you're bleeding and something really wrong, the first thing
- 1:26:24Speaker 6: she says, I get up and go, I am not bleeding,
- 1:26:28Speaker 6: and then she throws the thing off and walks in
- 1:26:31Speaker 6: the house.
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: I'm going I got her.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: She didn't got a philosophy.
- 1:26:36Speaker 6: She ain't crying, but she upset because she already know,
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: like I could soole her on certain things but not everything.
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: So that shit is just funny.
- 1:26:45Speaker 6: I always think about that, like how she literally was like,
- 1:26:48Speaker 6: I'm not bleeding and she only like five years old,
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: and she playing it on me.
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: I couldn't. I still laugh about that today.
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: It's like, you let her kind of be upset, but
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: at least she knows, like she's trying.
- 1:27:00Speaker 6: She tried, she getting that concept five years old, she
- 1:27:03Speaker 6: understand it, but she was just upset.
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: She like slammed the keys and walked in the house.
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: I'm like, but she not crying.
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: You showed it, Jack, You showing the photo?
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: Was that it?
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:27:14Speaker 13: Did you not see it earlier?
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: Hold on my fault of the foe by four? We
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: got that.
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: We got the injury out early. I remember when we
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: was like several months old. I accidentally like she crawled
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: off the top of the top stair. I couldn't get
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: her in time, and I'm like chasing her down the stairs.
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: Don't I am the worst flipping the vault time, not flipping.
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: Just don't called her like three fourths of the way down.
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: I felt so fucking bad, just so I was about
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: to ask this roo of a helmet for this four wheeler.
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: Nah, she went right. This was the very fool. Yeah,
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: the very that's a good point. That's why killed me.
- 1:27:55Speaker 6: Just put all night bikes something small, yeah, because that's
- 1:27:57Speaker 6: all we Just put all they bike stuff on them,
- 1:28:00Speaker 6: is what it is.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's it. It's for ages three and up.
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: Like when my dad got that Force for Christmas. They
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: literally sat in the Christmas packaging till yesterday. It's really
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: like Dad like, yeah, that's awesome. But she's she's not
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: even she's not even do yet.
- 1:28:15Speaker 12: You know.
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: Most of you get him in the remote control one
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: where you can kind of do it because they like
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: to go fast, and she always wants you to me
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: to push her in the red, red and yellow tight
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: that car.
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: I don't have the control though, that one, don't know.
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: She's put your feet up.
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's the one like the flint stone come
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: on that go fast, so then she would like pick it.
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: Up No, it ain't the control one. No, I don't
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: have her remote control. Is you hit the throttle and
- 1:28:39Speaker 5: eight goals?
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I need to get. So I'm not
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: the one pushing her.
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: Yeah okay, yeah, yeah, we got the one that that
- 1:28:45Speaker 5: goes on his own. Yeah. They wiled out in the snow.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: I was like, oh, y'all crazy, All right, let's uh,
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: let's hit this. Uh shout out, no free shout out.

- 1:29:30Speaker 3: myself with Duke Cannon shit because you know it is

- 1:30:22Speaker 5: you Alu? El you that's what I said? Didn't you said?
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: Al Alu?
- 1:30:28Speaker 6: Oh shit, I don't know this Alulu?
- 1:30:32Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: Oot Yeah, JP got mad at me, like damn, I.
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: Was like ship am I we just talked slipping on
- 1:30:39Speaker 5: you know what I mean?
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: JP, you got one, Mitch, you got one.
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: Kick us off. I'll start off.
- 1:30:46Speaker 12: I'm gonna shout out of every shadow of being able
- 1:30:48Speaker 12: to travel with the boys again. The Yeah, the Spring
- 1:30:51Speaker 12: tour like the first stop and then a lot of
- 1:30:54Speaker 12: the Fall tour. I didn't make the travel list, but
- 1:30:57Speaker 12: uh it was fun being with the guys again, and
- 1:31:00Speaker 12: this this this weekend going out and stuff with with
- 1:31:05Speaker 12: everybody and just being apart being a part of the
- 1:31:07Speaker 12: crew again.
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: So yeah, out being able to travel. That's a good one, man,
- 1:31:11Speaker 5: That is actually good travel, Suad.
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: Jackie Moon.
- 1:31:18Speaker 5: Yeah, we gotta hurry up so we can hit this
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: solar eclipse. Start at war the full thing.
- 1:31:24Speaker 13: Yeah, fuck it.
- 1:31:24Speaker 11: I'll just d shut out with the solar clip. Some
- 1:31:28Speaker 11: people don't care as much about it, and that's totally fine.
- 1:31:31Speaker 11: I think that nature phenomenons are cool, and we this
- 1:31:35Speaker 11: will be a a full I forget the exact wordage
- 1:31:39Speaker 11: for it, but a total eclipse. There are partial ones,
- 1:31:42Speaker 11: and this one is when the moon goes in the
- 1:31:45Speaker 11: direct path of Earth and the Sun. We're all familiar
- 1:31:48Speaker 11: with the eclipses, but Uh, it's gonna be four and
- 1:31:51Speaker 11: a half minutes long, and in Tennessee we are closer
- 1:31:55Speaker 11: to almost the entirety of Earth where the eclipse passes through,
- 1:31:59Speaker 11: so so hopefully it's gonna be a cool experience. It's
- 1:32:04Speaker 11: a little cloudy in Nashville today, so we might not
- 1:32:06Speaker 11: even need these glasses, but hopefully it gets pretty dark
- 1:32:09Speaker 11: for about four minutes.
- 1:32:10Speaker 5: And to me, I think that's cool. And it happened
- 1:32:12Speaker 5: like every five years, because this happened before until.
- 1:32:15Speaker 13: We had a few. Yeah, one in twenty seventeen.
- 1:32:17Speaker 11: This one is a total eclipse, so it's like if
- 1:32:20Speaker 11: you're in the actual direct line of it, you'll get
- 1:32:23Speaker 11: it'll be like completely dark.
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: Have you guys been in the direct line of it?
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: If the last couple of times? The one time I
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: was telling you.
- 1:32:31Speaker 11: About it, and I was really close to the direct line,
- 1:32:33Speaker 11: but I wasn't in Uh it was it got dark here. Yeah,
- 1:32:37Speaker 11: I think it was closer in Nashville last time. I
- 1:32:40Speaker 11: was living in Knoxville at the time, and then now
- 1:32:42Speaker 11: this time, it's like the very far left corner of
- 1:32:45Speaker 11: Tennessee in the west. It's like Dyersburg, I think is
- 1:32:47Speaker 11: the only place it's complete darkness.
- 1:32:50Speaker 13: Yeah, darkness.
- 1:32:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:32:51Speaker 4: So I don't know how wide the path is.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: But one of the times it was like in like
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: where we were in Bonte, Missouri, like people were coming
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: in just to bon staying at hotels and everything else
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: just to travel and see.
- 1:33:03Speaker 4: Because we were like in line with what you're saying.
- 1:33:05Speaker 11: That seems like overkilled on me, Like I'm not going
- 1:33:07Speaker 11: to travel for it.
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: Science teacher was fired up.
- 1:33:10Speaker 5: Oh yeah, so say he's a family in town.
- 1:33:12Speaker 13: I know, I respect people who do it.
- 1:33:13Speaker 11: But they said there's like a million extra people on
- 1:33:16Speaker 11: the roads in America today just traveling for the eclipse.
- 1:33:19Speaker 6: Well, some people believe that line brings wealth and good
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: luck or some stuff like I don't really know. You know,
- 1:33:26Speaker 6: people all got these weird things from when three planets
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: a line, and like it's crazy.
- 1:33:32Speaker 11: There's some conspiracy too about it being like Judgment day two,
- 1:33:36Speaker 11: like this one specifically, like there's.
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: Aliens just hiding behind the moon waiting.
- 1:33:41Speaker 13: This podcast might not even come out tomorrow.
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: Yeah, bro, I think I was in high school like
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: in between.
- 1:33:47Speaker 13: Four and eight one in two thousand and six.
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: But not the eclipse. Remember, there was like a day
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: from like who was that group? Then it's like a
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: day between, like in between four and.
- 1:33:58Speaker 13: Eight, right, I thought it was twenty twelve.
- 1:34:00Speaker 5: Yeah, it was a twenty twelve when the mind calendar
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: like yeah, yeah, then you remember.
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: That day was like oh it's everything, and then you
- 1:34:07Speaker 4: got white. You can't remember the year.
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: Shut down by water like crazy? A man? What is
- 1:34:13Speaker 5: going on? Nice shoutout show.
- 1:34:17Speaker 11: Hopefully we get some good or less coverage. The clouds
- 1:34:22Speaker 11: could make it.
- 1:34:24Speaker 13: You know where I lose a lot of steam today.
- 1:34:28Speaker 4: Gee, what mine's gonna be?
- 1:34:30Speaker 5: Simple?
- 1:34:31Speaker 9: We've said it before, but got home from Nebraska and
- 1:34:36Speaker 9: woke up to the entire street, all the fellas mowing
- 1:34:39Speaker 9: their lawn and just the smell of fresh cut grass.
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: Can't beat it, can't beat it.
- 1:34:45Speaker 9: We're back, leaves are on the trees, the boys are
- 1:34:48Speaker 9: backs are back.
- 1:34:50Speaker 5: We didn't see none of that in Nebraska. Yeah, hell no.
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: Did you hit the primer a few times? Oh? Ship? Yeah?
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: People?
- 1:35:00Speaker 5: What you got thirty eight to?
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:35:05Speaker 5: Shout out?
- 1:35:06Speaker 7: No free shout out to the lady game Cocks. The
- 1:35:09Speaker 7: Journey to Perfection was completed last night and under Armoured
- 1:35:15Speaker 7: that came out with a nice little graphic for us says,
- 1:35:18Speaker 7: you win some and the nets cut down, you lose none.
- 1:35:22Speaker 7: Columbia burned down, kids were jumping in the fountain. Don
- 1:35:26Speaker 7: Staley goat of women's basketball. From player and coach perspective,
- 1:35:30Speaker 7: there's obviously a lot of great women's coaches, but nobody
- 1:35:33Speaker 7: has done more than Dawn from the player side in
- 1:35:36Speaker 7: the coach side. So it was just great to see.
- 1:35:38Speaker 7: Anytime somebody goes undefeating any sport, it's it's unreal to me.
- 1:35:41Speaker 6: So and they beat one of the best women basketball
- 1:35:45Speaker 6: player college women basketball players ever to play the game.
- 1:35:49Speaker 7: So that's turned our whole roster of we lost all
- 1:35:52Speaker 7: five starters last year.
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: Yeah, and then to do this, right, I wonder if
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: she'll get any like head men Joss. Remember we were
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: in nebrassk coach Ruilson. He was talking to somebody. Yeah higher,
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: but this was like last year, as I said, already
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: filled it.
- 1:36:05Speaker 4: But she seems like so.
- 1:36:07Speaker 7: The Las Vegas Aces are like the best team in
- 1:36:09Speaker 7: the WNBA right now. They have already moved their game
- 1:36:13Speaker 7: against whoever has the number one w NBA pick. They've
- 1:36:16Speaker 7: moved it to Tmobile Arena because it has like eight
- 1:36:19Speaker 7: thousand more seats from where they play now, just in
- 1:36:22Speaker 7: anticipation of that team picking.
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: Kaitlyn Clark wants, Yeah.
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: She has like changed the game.
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: I was telling you, I was telling you earlier before
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: we were sitting over there that I'm sitting there watching
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: these last game like the tournament with Iowa and following
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: Kaitlyn Clark, and it's like I'm sitting there with like
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: a like this like loose smile of like, yo, this
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: is so sick for like women's sports that somebody like
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: this has changed the game so much. Like they're out viewing,
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: outperforming the NBA Finals, the World Series, all the men's tournament,
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: all because of like Kaitlyn Clark and all the you know,
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: whether it's love hate and everything kind of combined arguing
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: over one player.
- 1:36:59Speaker 4: But she's like changed the fucking game for real.
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: Yeah, definite. It's super impressive. Does she got another year
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: of eligibility?
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: I see people being like, oh, she's you got to
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: try to figure out a way for her to stay
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: at Iowa or something.
- 1:37:11Speaker 11: And a fun fact, Kaitlyn Clark this season alone scored
- 1:37:14Speaker 11: more points by herself than Iowa football scored in her
- 1:37:18Speaker 11: entire four year college career.
- 1:37:21Speaker 5: God. Yeah, I mean, god damn, you had to get
- 1:37:23Speaker 5: that oc out of there. That is but brutal. That's
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: a brutal stat yikes.
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: So yeah, bro, Kaylyn Clark she is. I mean, it's
- 1:37:30Speaker 4: been cool to see. It's been fun to watch.
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: Obviously you see all the bickering going on, which is
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: just enjoyable from a content perspective.
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:37:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it wasn't good enough. Still got thirty. But what's
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: her name? What's her name? Whoever was Gardner? You could
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: just tell she was for a challenge.
- 1:37:43Speaker 7: It was it was personal because last year Iowa knocked
- 1:37:46Speaker 7: us out in the final four and Raven wasn't the
- 1:37:48Speaker 7: greatest shooter last year. Yeah, and Caitlyn waved her off
- 1:37:52Speaker 7: in the final four, left her wide.
- 1:37:53Speaker 5: Open and for real, go ahead and shoot it.
- 1:37:57Speaker 10: Yeah, and you could tell like it was in.
- 1:37:58Speaker 7: Her head the whole game. And then hit the ground
- 1:38:01Speaker 7: with that needed because when she was guarding Kayln Onily
- 1:38:05Speaker 7: had seven points.
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: She was on heed for a lot of minutes.
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: But when she picked her and took it the other
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: way for a cold but that was nasty. Kind of
- 1:38:12Speaker 3: fired me up. But yeah, shout out the women's game cocks.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: My shout out No Free Shoutouts is going to go
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: to when you find a new game on your phone.
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: I haven't been in the iPhone game for a minute,
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: and I found this game called Retro Bowl, and I
- 1:38:27Speaker 3: am on year twenty four of my dynasty. I coached
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: the Dallas Cowboys for like fifteen years and now I'm
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: with the Las Vegas Raiders. But this is game Retro Bowl,
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: and I see him to being like follow us on Twitter,
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: go to our reddit. I might just make a Reddit
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: profile just to join this group. This game is fucking unreal,
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: talking about if you want a GM owner dynasty.
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: Like again, I'm on year twenty three, twenty four.
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: I've won two Super Bowls, they got Hall of Fame,
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: Like you can make all these different lists and you
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: can kind of like develop players, trade get coins like
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: not to where you're buying stuff. I think you can
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: upgrade one time and get like perch some of it.
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: I found this game and I've truly been fucking obsessed
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: with it. I see so my shot out, no free shodow,
- 1:39:08Speaker 3: my shot no free shodow goes to the Retro Bowl.
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: I fucking love it.
- 1:39:12Speaker 5: I love it.
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: I might do the upgrade so I can just rename because.
- 1:39:15Speaker 5: You get there.
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: Yeah, you get yeah. Bro, It's like it's like old school.
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: What was that first initial football game? Yeah, Tech Moobil
- 1:39:21Speaker 4: techno techn no Bowl, Tech no Bowl. It's like that
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: kind of style.
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: But like all the theatrics with GM running the dynasty,
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: hiring coaches, losing players, it's awesome.
- 1:39:31Speaker 4: It's fucking sick.
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: Boys.
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: If I could recommend an app store game right now,
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: no free shotouts, but the retro Bowl, I'm telling you
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: you will be you will be immersed.
- 1:39:40Speaker 4: Go ahead, the land.
- 1:39:41Speaker 6: My shout out, no free shotout is going to be
- 1:39:43Speaker 6: a land clearing machine. SPE's most likely the mulcher. Look, Bro,
- 1:39:49Speaker 6: I went to Nebraska and I hired these people to
- 1:39:52Speaker 6: come in and moltch clearing trails so we can ride
- 1:39:56Speaker 6: full wheelers, dirt bikes, all this, do shoot guns whatever.
- 1:40:00Speaker 6: I came back the property looks ridiculous. I mean, I
- 1:40:07Speaker 6: am blown away about how this machine cleared trees paths.
- 1:40:14Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm heading up there after this.
- 1:40:16Speaker 6: So my shout out, no free shoutouts goes to land
- 1:40:20Speaker 6: clearing machines multures.
- 1:40:22Speaker 5: If you ever get land, look into these multures.
- 1:40:26Speaker 6: I am telling you another business you said no shot
- 1:40:29Speaker 6: no free shot outs, right, yeah, but you.
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: Can give them a shot out. But it's just you know,
- 1:40:33Speaker 5: it's Stephen land clearing man. They kills it.
- 1:40:37Speaker 6: Steven's land clearing. They elite land clearing. So money well spent. Yeah,
- 1:40:42Speaker 6: money well spent.
- 1:40:43Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 1:40:44Speaker 6: I went back up there yesterday after I woke up.
- 1:40:46Speaker 6: I'm like, we're gonna go check it out. I'm blown away.
- 1:40:50Speaker 5: I mean I can now.
- 1:40:51Speaker 6: I can ride my side by side through the whole,
- 1:40:53Speaker 6: all sixty two acres. I can go around all of
- 1:40:56Speaker 6: it without being touched by a tree. But it's trails
- 1:41:01Speaker 6: that leads to the ponds that we can shoot it.
- 1:41:04Speaker 6: Oh my god, it is the best. I'm thankfulf for
- 1:41:09Speaker 6: the jp stide.
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: We got to get a vlog, We got to get
- 1:41:11Speaker 4: out there.
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: No, I told her.
- 1:41:13Speaker 6: I was telling them once the house built, I want
- 1:41:15Speaker 6: you to come film film a bus up film one.
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: Of this weekend boys.
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: That'd be Monday, just.
- 1:41:22Speaker 6: Having a crazy day side by side, shooting guns all
- 1:41:25Speaker 6: that have to Yeah, that's a good one.
- 1:41:29Speaker 5: Should we get?
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: Should we get?
- 1:41:30Speaker 5: How long is it?
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: Hell?
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: How long we've been rocking? Mitch our forty five minutes?
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: How long is a Bibeing interview thirty five minutes. I
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: think we're solid. We got the Masters coming up this weekend.

- 1:42:00Speaker 5: Uh gee, you got any.

- 1:42:04Speaker 3: bets on about we should be following lookout for.
- 1:42:06Speaker 4: It's maybe an underdog.
- 1:42:08Speaker 9: Underdog I mean not really an underdog you just won
- 1:42:12Speaker 9: this past week, but he might shake some things up.
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: I'm gonna botch his name. I gotta look it up.
- 1:42:18Speaker 9: But young Cat twenty two years old just balled out
- 1:42:21Speaker 9: this past weekend, so people will be watching him going
- 1:42:24Speaker 9: into this week. It's his first time playing in the Masters.

- 1:42:43Speaker 3: and Bay whoever whoever beat who in this mini golf tournament.
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: The loser has to promote, has to stop selling golf
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: merch or just promote the others.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: But yeah, we got so we got golf merch coming out,
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: or we got golf merch out that you go check

- 1:43:11Speaker 3: just those are some old timecats.
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: Uh, but yeah, man, check all that stuff out.
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: We're gonna get to the Michael Bisbee episode with the
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: Bisbeing episode, and let me see here the Bisbeing episode,
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: we talk about him going to his childhood and getting
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: into fighting because of how much he was in and
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: out of jail.
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: The dude is a great storyteller, a lot of charisma.
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: A bar fight that he talks about that's a lot
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: of fun to listen to going from athlete to media
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: kind of him getting out and transitioning out of the
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: fight game. But dude is a lot of fun to
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: talk to. I think he has a YouTube channel as
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: well that's super successful. He does a lot of work
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: with the UFC. But Michael Bisbee talk a little bit
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: about the Chandler McGregor fight coming up.
- 1:43:52Speaker 4: It's a fun interview. You guys will really enjoy it.

- 1:44:59Speaker 3: have a good show on I.
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: Keep myself busy.
- 1:45:03Speaker 4: Yeah, you've done a great job transitioning fight.
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: Thank you very much.
- 1:45:07Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean as as a former fighter or like
- 1:45:10Speaker 14: all athletes, I mean, you guys did very well, but
- 1:45:12Speaker 14: fighters in particularly it's a hard road, you.
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: Know what I mean.
- 1:45:16Speaker 14: And then not a lot of fighters make money. You know,
- 1:45:19Speaker 14: there's only the tip of the iceberg. And I'm not
- 1:45:21Speaker 14: talking about in the UFC. I mean to get to
- 1:45:23Speaker 14: the UFC. I mean that in itself is very hard,
- 1:45:26Speaker 14: you know, but to really be able to retire comfortably,
- 1:45:30Speaker 14: you know, only the only a select few get to
- 1:45:32Speaker 14: do that, you know, in in in any professional sports.
- 1:45:36Speaker 14: I mean, if you look at soccer, right, how many
- 1:45:38Speaker 14: people play soccer, you know, and how many people get
- 1:45:40Speaker 14: to actually really make a living. So yeah, retiring as
- 1:45:43Speaker 14: a fighter still being involved with the sport commentating in
- 1:45:46Speaker 14: the UFC.
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: It couldn't have worked out any better, and I'm a
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: very happy man.
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: Do you feel like you retired comfortably?
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:45:52Speaker 14: Yeah, no, for sure at the time. Yeah, yeah, No,
- 1:45:54Speaker 14: I had a great career, you know. I mean I
- 1:45:55Speaker 14: was able to win the belt, defendert some championship fights.
- 1:45:59Speaker 14: You know, I was repping the UK for a long
- 1:46:02Speaker 14: time as well. So I had a great career.
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: I had a long run.
- 1:46:06Speaker 14: Yeah, yeah, very comfortably. I mean you can always be
- 1:46:09Speaker 14: more comfortable questions. Yeah, you know what I'm saying over again. Yeah,
- 1:46:14Speaker 14: Dana always looked after me and I always did very well.
- 1:46:17Speaker 3: Did were you doing any of the media stuff while
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: you were fighting or was that a transition you made
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: right when you got done.
- 1:46:23Speaker 14: No, so I was doing it whilst I was fighting
- 1:46:25Speaker 14: as well. Is this sound okay for you guys? Close enough?
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:46:28Speaker 14: So so you probably know maybe you don't so I
- 1:46:31Speaker 14: don't see my right eye the yeah, yeah story. So, so,
- 1:46:35Speaker 14: when I started having the I issues, because obviously you
- 1:46:39Speaker 14: want to be a champion and all the rest of it,
- 1:46:40Speaker 14: When I started having the I issues and I was
- 1:46:42Speaker 14: told I was never going to be able to fight again,
- 1:46:44Speaker 14: and I did carry on fighting, and I was lying
- 1:46:47Speaker 14: and cheating on tests and all the rest of it,
- 1:46:48Speaker 14: doing whatever I could right. But I was like, this
- 1:46:51Speaker 14: isn't going to last forever. I've got to figure out
- 1:46:53Speaker 14: I can. I know my door is closing, the options
- 1:46:56Speaker 14: are going to go away soon. So I started doing
- 1:46:58Speaker 14: as much of that stuff as I could, working on
- 1:47:01Speaker 14: Fox Sports at the time, and then started a podcast
- 1:47:03Speaker 14: and then just whatever else I could do whilst I
- 1:47:06Speaker 14: still had a platform and whilst people still gave it that.
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Because when you desire your
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: old news if.
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: It was if it wasn't for the eye, do you
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: think you would have had the idea to kind of, Okay,
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: I need to find out some different avenues because as
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: as athletes like for me, there was never a plan B.
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: You kind of just think I'm gonna play football and
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: then I'll die on the field. Sure, greatest honor to
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: go out that way, No, for sure, And that's always
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: the goal.
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: That's what you want to do.
- 1:47:29Speaker 14: You got to be single minded to be successful and
- 1:47:31Speaker 14: to be great at anything, You've got to be lied that.
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: But of course you'd be a fool.
- 1:47:36Speaker 14: Not to realize that there's a life after fighting, you know,
- 1:47:39Speaker 14: I mean, I think it was two thousand and nine,
- 1:47:41Speaker 14: I started doing a little bit of acting and stuff
- 1:47:43Speaker 14: like that. I never thought I'd end up doing that,
- 1:47:44Speaker 14: but I just got offered an acting roll out of
- 1:47:47Speaker 14: the blue.
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: So I was like, yeah, fucking why not, Let's give
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: it a shot.
- 1:47:49Speaker 14: The next thing, I'm in Austin, Texas, spent my per
- 1:47:52Speaker 14: day and for the entire shoe On the first night
- 1:47:54Speaker 14: with my buddy, we had a great night out, turned
- 1:47:56Speaker 14: the post out, hungover to the mix, thinking what am
- 1:47:58Speaker 14: I doing here? Then ended up loving the entire process
- 1:48:02Speaker 14: and done that stuff ever since as well. So yeah,
- 1:48:05Speaker 14: I mean I always kind of had part of the pun,
- 1:48:07Speaker 14: one eye on doing other stuff.
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: Nice.
- 1:48:10Speaker 4: Now it's about the legacy. We are a little birdie
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: totalist that you had a DJ career.
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: DJ mikey Be, it's nothing to write home about.
- 1:48:20Speaker 14: So yeah, I mean, listen, I was obsessed with martial
- 1:48:23Speaker 14: arts as a kid, and then one day I was
- 1:48:25Speaker 14: walking home from work when I was sixteen, and my
- 1:48:28Speaker 14: buddy had a set of decks. I went into his
- 1:48:30Speaker 14: house and you know, they were smoking weed and stuff.
- 1:48:32Speaker 14: I was never a weed smoker, but I saw the
- 1:48:35Speaker 14: decks and the turntables, and I just thought that was
- 1:48:37Speaker 14: the coolest thing ever at sixteen. So I stopped doing
- 1:48:40Speaker 14: martial arts and became DJ mikey b. I put all
- 1:48:43Speaker 14: my effort into that, and I had a little bit
- 1:48:45Speaker 14: of a you know, following or whatever. I did okay,
- 1:48:49Speaker 14: but but you know, nothing nothing to write home about,
- 1:48:52Speaker 14: you know what. I still spin the turntables a bit
- 1:48:54Speaker 14: for fun when I'm bored. I might do the occasional
- 1:48:57Speaker 14: set here and there, but I've hung up the wreck
- 1:49:00Speaker 14: a long time ago.
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: You stopped MMA, so you were doing the DJ stuff
- 1:49:04Speaker 3: and then I was like, okay, let me get back
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: into the fighting.
- 1:49:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:49:06Speaker 14: Yeah, Well I wasn't doing mm A. I was doing
- 1:49:08Speaker 14: martial arts. You know, a lot of martial arts tournaments
- 1:49:10Speaker 14: and stuff. But so yeah, I put all my efforts
- 1:49:12Speaker 14: into being a DJ, and then I met my girlfriend
- 1:49:15Speaker 14: who's now my wife, and we had two children, and
- 1:49:18Speaker 14: then I was like, yeah, I don't think this is happening,
- 1:49:21Speaker 14: you know what I mean. There were some pretty rundown
- 1:49:25Speaker 14: venues in the northwest of England, you know what I mean.
- 1:49:27Speaker 14: We're not exactly talking excess and the wind. This is
- 1:49:32Speaker 14: not what we're talking about guys to Vegas. I don't
- 1:49:36Speaker 14: even know about that. Get to it, Betha, you know, Bezas, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:49:41Speaker 14: yeah no. And then when the kids came along, I
- 1:49:45Speaker 14: was like, what am I doing with myself? And I
- 1:49:47Speaker 14: was always getting into scraps, you know, on fights when
- 1:49:50Speaker 14: I was a kid. I was that was that kind
- 1:49:51Speaker 14: of guy. And then I actually went to prison. I
- 1:49:54Speaker 14: got sent down for twenty eight days. And it was
- 1:49:56Speaker 14: when I was sitting in the holding cell waiting to
- 1:49:59Speaker 14: be assigned myself. I was sitting there, I was thinking,
- 1:50:01Speaker 14: what is going on? What is how I ended up here?
- 1:50:05Speaker 14: And I'm sitting in this holding cell and there's old
- 1:50:07Speaker 14: drug addicts and dead beats around me, and they're like,
- 1:50:10Speaker 14: look coming up, Dahn, went you in for me?
- 1:50:13Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:50:13Speaker 14: And I'm like, don't talk to me, stay away from
- 1:50:15Speaker 14: I'm not one of you. And I thought to myself,
- 1:50:17Speaker 14: I've got to make a change. And right then and there,
- 1:50:20Speaker 14: that's when I kind of got my act together. And
- 1:50:23Speaker 14: I'm actually grateful for that judge for doing that, because
- 1:50:26Speaker 14: I was just reckless and didn't really give a damn.
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: How do we get in there?
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: Just just I was fighting, Yeah, how are you.
- 1:50:34Speaker 14: What was I twenty two, twenty three, something like that.
- 1:50:37Speaker 14: I was always getting fights. I'm from a small town.
- 1:50:40Speaker 14: Everyone knows everyone's business. Ever since I was a kid,
- 1:50:44Speaker 14: I always you know, I was just that kind of kid.
- 1:50:47Speaker 14: I was always down for a fight. And I was young,
- 1:50:49Speaker 14: and I was reckless, and I thought it was all
- 1:50:51Speaker 14: fun and games, you know what I mean. You know,
- 1:50:54Speaker 14: I was very immature, let's be honest.
- 1:50:56Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: So it really was a wig up calling. It is
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: what the prisons was supposed to be. It's like, oh,
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: I need a snap out of it. And it worked
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: on me one hundred percent, yeah, one hundred percent.
- 1:51:04Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:51:04Speaker 14: So I came out of there and never threw another
- 1:51:07Speaker 14: punch on the street. Just decided to start doing it professionally.
- 1:51:11Speaker 14: But I didn't find my way to mixed martial arts
- 1:51:13Speaker 14: then because MMA wasn't really a thing. The UFC existed,
- 1:51:17Speaker 14: but I wasn't a fan. But then my old to
- 1:51:20Speaker 14: use an old term, sense told me all about the
- 1:51:24Speaker 14: explosion of something called mixed martial arts and the UFC
- 1:51:28Speaker 14: and in Japan they had pride and I didn't even.
- 1:51:31Speaker 5: Know what it was.
- 1:51:31Speaker 14: I said, can you make money? And he said, listen
- 1:51:33Speaker 14: to the champions are making great money. There, celebrities in
- 1:51:36Speaker 14: America that they got getting into acting and all this
- 1:51:38Speaker 14: kind of stuff. So we said this whole He painted
- 1:51:41Speaker 14: this whole picture, and I thought, that's what I want.
- 1:51:44Speaker 14: So I signed up for my first fight three months later,
- 1:51:46Speaker 14: didn't even know what the sport was, got the knockout.
- 1:51:49Speaker 14: Two years later, I was on the Ultimate Fire. Won
- 1:51:52Speaker 14: that next minute. Here we are talking busting with bussing
- 1:51:55Speaker 14: with the boys right.
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: There. That the big break was getting on the Ultimate Fighter.
- 1:52:02Speaker 14: Oh for sure, of course, you know, firing on the
- 1:52:04Speaker 14: regional scene if you will, that's what they call it
- 1:52:06Speaker 14: in the UK. I mean, I was the Cage Warriors champion.
- 1:52:09Speaker 14: I was a Cage Race champion. I was the what
- 1:52:13Speaker 14: was it, any promotion that was in the UK. I
- 1:52:16Speaker 14: was the champion of as well as the super heavyweight
- 1:52:18Speaker 14: kickboxing champion. I used to be a bit of a
- 1:52:19Speaker 14: fat bastard, so yeah, I mean, so then they came
- 1:52:23Speaker 14: to the UK looking for two guys to be on
- 1:52:26Speaker 14: the Ultimate Fight to season three, and then we had
- 1:52:29Speaker 14: these open auditions and had the auditions all the other
- 1:52:32Speaker 14: people in my weight class.
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: I knocked them all out.
- 1:52:34Speaker 14: You know what, I mean, so I was kind of
- 1:52:35Speaker 14: confident that I was going to get it. And then
- 1:52:37Speaker 14: of course I'm allowed my mouthpiece of shit as well.
- 1:52:39Speaker 14: So you want to bet a drama?
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, there you go. How was The Ultimate
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: Fighter structured?
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: Then? Was everybody in the same house still? Was it
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: kind of a reality TV show to go with it
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: as well?
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:52:49Speaker 14: Yeah, for sure, Yeah, absolutely, And I loved it. I mean,
- 1:52:52Speaker 14: come on, listen, I've never been to America. They're going
- 1:52:54Speaker 14: to fly me to America. I'm sitting in a big,
- 1:52:56Speaker 14: beautiful mansion with a bunch of guys. We're getting paid
- 1:52:59Speaker 14: to train and work out, and you walk in and
- 1:53:02Speaker 14: being coached by Ts and Ken, Shamrock and Day in
- 1:53:04Speaker 14: the whites there, I'm like, shit, this is it. This
- 1:53:07Speaker 14: is really happening. And a lot of people on the
- 1:53:09Speaker 14: show they were there for the fifteen minutes of fame,
- 1:53:12Speaker 14: you know, but I was. I was there to kick
- 1:53:13Speaker 14: some ass and win, you know, and fortune early, with.
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: A bit of luck, that's what I was able to do.
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: So when you go to when you go through The
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: Ultimate Fighter and you get.
- 1:53:21Speaker 5: That bid to go to the UFC.
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: You said earlier you were really a fan of UFC.
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: When did you become like, this is this organization that
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: really wasn't that money in his pocket? Yeah this is
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: not actually yeah it was.
- 1:53:35Speaker 6: It wasn't.
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: But I just didn't even really know what existed.
- 1:53:38Speaker 14: I remember I was a World Championships in nineteen ninety
- 1:53:41Speaker 14: five when I was sixteen, and we were staying in
- 1:53:43Speaker 14: a youth hostel in Auckland, and I remember in the
- 1:53:45Speaker 14: kitchen in the youth hostel they were all watching I
- 1:53:47Speaker 14: think it was like UFC two or three or something.
- 1:53:50Speaker 14: And I wasn't really interested, not because I was a fan.
- 1:53:52Speaker 14: I was just, you know, I was a kid and whatever,
- 1:53:55Speaker 14: and I was too busy going out with my friends
- 1:53:57Speaker 14: and partying and stuff. But as soon as I knew
- 1:54:00Speaker 14: there was a viable career option, and I knew I
- 1:54:03Speaker 14: was getting older and i'd been in trouble with the
- 1:54:05Speaker 14: law and I left school at sixteen, I was like,
- 1:54:08Speaker 14: this is probably the only way I'm going to make
- 1:54:12Speaker 14: something out of my life, you know, because I always said, like,
- 1:54:14Speaker 14: you know, getting on your lecturer's high horse. But everyone's
- 1:54:17Speaker 14: good at something, everyone's got a skill. And I remember
- 1:54:20Speaker 14: I remember my supervisor at the time at work, I
- 1:54:23Speaker 14: was working at this sofa factory, just like making couches
- 1:54:26Speaker 14: and stuff. And he said, what are you going to
- 1:54:28Speaker 14: do for the rest of your life?
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: Michael?
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: He said, do you want to do this?
- 1:54:30Speaker 14: I said, no way, And he said, well, well, you know,
- 1:54:34Speaker 14: you think about it because I walked into this factory
- 1:54:37Speaker 14: thirty years ago and it's flown by like that. He said,
- 1:54:39Speaker 14: you're still a young man. So I started thinking. I said,
- 1:54:41Speaker 14: what am I good at? What am I good at?
- 1:54:43Speaker 14: And I've always been good at fighting. I was always
- 1:54:46Speaker 14: good at martial arts. I was always in street fights.
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: I'm ashamed to say now, but I was, you know,
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: I was.
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: I was.
- 1:54:53Speaker 14: I was very successful. Let's just put it like that
- 1:54:55Speaker 14: without siding like a quick so I said to.
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: Him, I never forget.
- 1:55:00Speaker 14: I walked up to him and I said, Mick, Mick,
- 1:55:02Speaker 14: I said, I figured out what I'm going to do.
- 1:55:04Speaker 14: And he takes his he's got his two belts on.
- 1:55:06Speaker 14: He takes his two belts off, and he walks off
- 1:55:08Speaker 14: of rubbin. His eyes come on because he was kind
- 1:55:10Speaker 14: of like a mentor, and he's like, Okay, what's the plan.
- 1:55:13Speaker 14: I said, I'm going to be a professional fighter. And
- 1:55:16Speaker 14: he was like, oh my God, I thought you were
- 1:55:19Speaker 14: a smart kid.
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: I'm like, not just me.
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: I know what I'm doing. So anyway, I'm just trying.
- 1:55:23Speaker 5: To make the call back to them, like, hey, I'm
- 1:55:25Speaker 5: fly enough.
- 1:55:27Speaker 14: I was googling him last week because I was talking
- 1:55:30Speaker 14: about this to my wife, about Mick Killeen.
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: But no, no, I don't I know know what happened
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: to him.
- 1:55:38Speaker 14: Well, you know, I don't think I had as much
- 1:55:40Speaker 14: of an impact on him as he had on me.
- 1:55:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: It's funny, isn't it. You know that these people come
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: into your lives, it can.
- 1:55:46Speaker 14: Make a big impression and they might not realize it,
- 1:55:48Speaker 14: you know, like a teacher to a troubled high school
- 1:55:51Speaker 14: kid or whatever.
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: You know, Yeah, you've had a lot of incredible fights,
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: like what lost pisses you off the most?
- 1:55:59Speaker 5: Oh?
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: What lost?
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: None of them?
- 1:56:01Speaker 14: To be honest, none of them passed me off. I
- 1:56:03Speaker 14: mean I'm forty four now, so and I've been midsized
- 1:56:05Speaker 14: twenty eighteen, so you know, I don't spend I don't
- 1:56:09Speaker 14: keep myself up at night stewing over them.
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: But what passed me off?
- 1:56:13Speaker 5: Which one had the most residual effects?
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: Been times past?
- 1:56:16Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:56:16Speaker 14: Yeah, I thought again, good question. I mean the Vanderalai
- 1:56:21Speaker 14: silver fire was bullshit.
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: I won that fire. I was robbed.
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that.
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: Nothing really makes me mad, but.
- 1:56:32Speaker 14: You're digging deep into the you know, fuck Vandai No, no, yes,
- 1:56:39Speaker 14: that one, I guess because Vandalala is a legend of
- 1:56:41Speaker 14: the sport, and he was actually one of the guys
- 1:56:43Speaker 14: that when I started discovering what MMA was, I saw
- 1:56:47Speaker 14: vanderlay file was.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, this guy is amazing.
- 1:56:50Speaker 14: Look at this guy, and I wanted to be like him,
- 1:56:52Speaker 14: and then so fire to fire him was a big deal,
- 1:56:56Speaker 14: you know, and I thought I wonder fire, but whatever,
- 1:56:58Speaker 14: it didn't go my way.
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: He hit all the training videos where he's like training
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: with the snorkel and ship right, like.
- 1:57:03Speaker 14: Yeah, he did a lot of he did a lot
- 1:57:06Speaker 14: of steroids as well. You know, they're the ones, you
- 1:57:10Speaker 14: know what I mean, the Vito belfour one. Obviously, I
- 1:57:13Speaker 14: lost an eyeball through that because he's a cheating piece
- 1:57:16Speaker 14: of shit, you know, so I guess.
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: There's a few.
- 1:57:21Speaker 14: Can go fuck himself. He was like performance enhancing drug
- 1:57:26Speaker 14: under the sun.
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: I love jail.
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: He's cool.
- 1:57:29Speaker 5: Because he's malthy too, like.
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: I wish I could have.
- 1:57:33Speaker 14: He never did because we were both fighting on the
- 1:57:36Speaker 14: same card, but we had different opponents. And then for
- 1:57:39Speaker 14: whatever reason it's a long story, somebody drops out, so
- 1:57:42Speaker 14: they rejiggled the card and I was fighting Jail and
- 1:57:45Speaker 14: this was like ten days before the fight, so we
- 1:57:48Speaker 14: didn't really have time to uh turning him to Manifest
- 1:57:51Speaker 14: or to Brew. You know, there was no bad feelings, couldn't.
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: You know arise?
- 1:57:56Speaker 14: It was like before we knew it, we were in
- 1:57:57Speaker 14: Chicago stepping on the scale. I remember I squared up
- 1:58:00Speaker 14: to Jail on the ways, and you know, you try
- 1:58:05Speaker 14: and do your bit, like get in his face and yeah,
- 1:58:07Speaker 14: fucking dead, that type of stuff.
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: But the act.
- 1:58:15Speaker 14: I'm in there, I always used to give not give
- 1:58:18Speaker 14: him a head bob, which is like a little just
- 1:58:20Speaker 14: a little touch, you know, because you're trying to insert
- 1:58:23Speaker 14: your last minute dominance, you know.
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: And ChIL just said, what colonna are you wearing? You
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: smelled delightful, son of a bitch.
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: Able these dudes taking p the steroidstuff like that? Was
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: it easy when you got your hands on guys to
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: feel like, okay, you got something going.
- 1:58:41Speaker 5: On extra, do you know what?
- 1:58:42Speaker 14: To be honest, there's only one fire that I ever
- 1:58:45Speaker 14: felt overpowered in, even though I know for a fact
- 1:58:49Speaker 14: I thought a lot of guys that were using because
- 1:58:51Speaker 14: for a while there was to self storng replacement therapy,
- 1:58:53Speaker 14: which was legal. They were allowed to do that if
- 1:58:56Speaker 14: you went to a doctor and the doctor signed off
- 1:58:58Speaker 14: on it. There you got boom.
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: You were in.
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: And I've never taken anything in my life, but even still.
- 1:59:03Speaker 14: There was I guess Vito was like ridiculously powerful and
- 1:59:06Speaker 14: explosive with his striking.
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: But when we clanched up or anything.
- 1:59:10Speaker 14: There's only one guy that I thought, who's called Matt
- 1:59:12Speaker 14: hammil That was a death fighter.
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: That warped my ass in round one. And I was
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: like a little school boy with him. But he was
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: on steroids or anything like that. He was just a
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: good old forearm boy.
- 1:59:23Speaker 5: You know what I mean.
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: That give me a good old ass kicking.
- 1:59:27Speaker 5: God bless him.
- 1:59:28Speaker 4: Wasn't just the testaster like the TRT. That was like
- 1:59:30Speaker 4: the issue, like what what? How was everybody? How people
- 1:59:33Speaker 4: able access.
- 1:59:34Speaker 5: As so much?
- 1:59:35Speaker 14: I have no idea, I have not I'm not an
- 1:59:37Speaker 14: expert on that stuff, but it was rife. I know
- 1:59:40Speaker 14: it was everyone. You know, everyone's aware of that because
- 1:59:42Speaker 14: the drug testing back then was kind of like an
- 1:59:45Speaker 14: IQ test.
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: You know, now we have what we had, you sawda.
- 1:59:48Speaker 14: We have another program now where the show randomly the
- 1:59:51Speaker 14: test you and you know he's very in depth and
- 1:59:53Speaker 14: very safe. Back then, it was not all fights the
- 1:59:56Speaker 14: main event. Maybe the coleman yet to take a pissed
- 1:59:59Speaker 14: test after the fight, you know, so if you're smart enough,
- 2:00:02Speaker 14: you know how to cycle it and get it out
- 2:00:04Speaker 14: of your system.
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: But I was always so young and confident.
- 2:00:07Speaker 14: I was like, I don't give a ship, I don't
- 2:00:09Speaker 14: care whatever I'm going.
- 2:00:10Speaker 5: To get him.
- 2:00:10Speaker 3: Anyone ever thought about it taking anything right, like trying
- 2:00:14Speaker 3: to figure out what I never I remember when I
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: was coming up in the UK.
- 2:00:18Speaker 14: You know, it was the UK scene back then was
- 2:00:21Speaker 14: like the wild West, trust me, like, you know, anyone
- 2:00:24Speaker 14: involved in mixed martial arts back then the world gangsters
- 2:00:26Speaker 14: and drug dealers and thugs and whatnot. You know, it
- 2:00:29Speaker 14: wasn't the professional scene it is now, let me tell you.
- 2:00:32Speaker 14: And there was a lot of people taking steroids on
- 2:00:35Speaker 14: my team and stuff like that. But in my mind
- 2:00:36Speaker 14: I was always like, well, number one, I don't want
- 2:00:39Speaker 14: to do that. I don't need to do that, but
- 2:00:40Speaker 14: I'm going to the UFC. I'm not here to be
- 2:00:42Speaker 14: a tough guy in my hometown. I'm going to the UFC,
- 2:00:44Speaker 14: and I don't want to test positive and get banned,
- 2:00:47Speaker 14: you know what I mean. So and of course ethically ethically,
- 2:00:50Speaker 14: of course, you.
- 2:00:51Speaker 2: Know that's a tough deal with the ethically part.
- 2:00:55Speaker 4: But everybody's doing it.
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: It's got to be hard like baseball, and how do
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: you keep it secret to like, you know, dudes, you're
- 2:01:02Speaker 2: taking it.
- 2:01:03Speaker 4: And I was like this guy like that Lances.
- 2:01:04Speaker 3: Arm showing there where you realize like literally every cyclist
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: was on something like he was just the guy who.
- 2:01:10Speaker 14: Was like you, yeah, when you're defeated, and this is
- 2:01:13Speaker 14: the thing that you'll see like eliasa Porius fighting next
- 2:01:15Speaker 14: week and UFC two nine eight, and he is bringing
- 2:01:17Speaker 14: with confidence. He's talking about knocking VOLCANOVSKIU in one round
- 2:01:20Speaker 14: and how it's not even going to be a fight
- 2:01:23Speaker 14: because that's how you are when you're undefeated. Like I
- 2:01:25Speaker 14: was smoking everybody, you know, I was knocking everyone out
- 2:01:28Speaker 14: in the first round, and you know, I didn't really
- 2:01:30Speaker 14: have a fight, and I was like there, fucking you know,
- 2:01:32Speaker 14: because when you're undefeated, you literally feel like no one
- 2:01:36Speaker 14: on earth can beat you, and it's just what it
- 2:01:38Speaker 14: does to you. And every time you compete and you win,
- 2:01:40Speaker 14: that is that that that mindset is further solidified. So
- 2:01:44Speaker 14: I was like, well, help me knock yourself out, give
- 2:01:47Speaker 14: me your best shot, you know, until you start getting
- 2:01:49Speaker 14: knocked out yourself, eyes.
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: And dribbling, you know what I mean? Doing this dubling were, Yeah.
- 2:01:55Speaker 5: Doesn't change your game like when you first got that.
- 2:01:57Speaker 4: Who was the who was the first one to be
- 2:01:59Speaker 4: was the.
- 2:02:00Speaker 14: Henderson UFC one hun So we coached the Ultimate Fighter
- 2:02:03Speaker 14: passion Yeah, no, no, listen for a player was on
- 2:02:08Speaker 14: testas and replacement therapy.
- 2:02:10Speaker 1: That's noted and in the books it's true.
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: It's true.
- 2:02:16Speaker 14: No, No, God blessing me got me good because we
- 2:02:19Speaker 14: coached the Ultimate Fighter. I talked a ton of shit
- 2:02:21Speaker 14: because Dan Henderson is literally like watching pain dry, So
- 2:02:24Speaker 14: somebody had to make that show exciting and interesting to watch.
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: And he's a bit of a prick, so that made
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: it easy.
- 2:02:31Speaker 14: So I talked a bit of shit, as I do,
- 2:02:32Speaker 14: and it was stewed from the whole UK versus USA
- 2:02:36Speaker 14: thing and seventeen seventy six, and he was the good
- 2:02:39Speaker 14: old fashioned, hard working, quite American boy that's going to
- 2:02:41Speaker 14: come and fuck me up.
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: That's exactly what I was.
- 2:02:45Speaker 5: That's what he did.
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: My god, it was.
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: It was the biggest show the USC had ever done.
- 2:02:50Speaker 14: And I got knocked out in the most spectacular fashion
- 2:02:53Speaker 14: and then he flies through the airs, I'm already unconscious
- 2:02:56Speaker 14: and gives me another one.
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: But good times, good time.
- 2:03:00Speaker 5: You know, you learn lessons.
- 2:03:02Speaker 11: It is what it is.
- 2:03:04Speaker 5: What was it like winning the belt? The adrenaline when
- 2:03:07Speaker 5: you were finally like.
- 2:03:08Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean, obviously an incredible experience when I won
- 2:03:13Speaker 14: the belt. After I knock him out, I jump on
- 2:03:16Speaker 14: top of the cage and I turn around and a
- 2:03:18Speaker 14: point I said fuck you.
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: But that wasn't really at Luke Rockhold.
- 2:03:24Speaker 14: That was everyone that wrote me off, everyone that talked shit,
- 2:03:28Speaker 14: everyone that wrote articles in the media, everyone online that
- 2:03:31Speaker 14: said he could never do it. He's a good fire,
- 2:03:32Speaker 14: but he's not a great fighter. He's not championship material.
- 2:03:36Speaker 14: And they always said that all along, and every time
- 2:03:38Speaker 14: I got a win, they always said it was a
- 2:03:39Speaker 14: fluke or whatever.
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: You know, they didn't know how hard I was working.
- 2:03:43Speaker 14: So that's that was that pure emotion coming out there,
- 2:03:45Speaker 14: and it wasn't directed at Luke, poor guy. It was
- 2:03:48Speaker 14: directed at all the naysayers, of which there was many.
- 2:03:52Speaker 4: Right, it makes a great competitor.
- 2:03:54Speaker 2: Yeah, all those little chirps trying to improve someone everything
- 2:03:57Speaker 2: personal one way or another.
- 2:03:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:03:59Speaker 2: Yeah, oh they said this, and me think it's the
- 2:04:02Speaker 2: worst thing ever.
- 2:04:03Speaker 1: Very emotionally immature.
- 2:04:05Speaker 2: You're finally like getting out of the fighting ring and
- 2:04:08Speaker 2: going into the media, Like, was there ever a process
- 2:04:10Speaker 2: for you where you've been a fighter of your whole life,
- 2:04:12Speaker 2: whether it's been professionally or non professionally, and now you're
- 2:04:15Speaker 2: going into something completely different, Like, was there a piece
- 2:04:17Speaker 2: of your identity that you're like, I feel like I'm
- 2:04:19Speaker 2: losing something of myself.
- 2:04:21Speaker 14: No, not really, because honestly, I feel like that fights
- 2:04:24Speaker 14: a version of myself. I guess if I you know,
- 2:04:28Speaker 14: he's still in there somewhere, but I'm a different guy
- 2:04:30Speaker 14: these days completely, you know. I mean I was, you know,
- 2:04:33Speaker 14: it was definitely a personality flow. When I was younger,
- 2:04:36Speaker 14: I was always getting into fights and that kind of
- 2:04:38Speaker 14: became my identity, my badge of honor.
- 2:04:41Speaker 4: That's who I was.
- 2:04:42Speaker 14: And when I was younger, that's kind of like how
- 2:04:44Speaker 14: I ended up getting friends and being popular and hanging
- 2:04:46Speaker 14: out with the cool guys and stuff, so only further
- 2:04:49Speaker 14: reinforced it being this bad boy image, if you will.
- 2:04:52Speaker 14: And then when I got to the UFC, you know,
- 2:04:54Speaker 14: I guess again, it's making me money, it's making me
- 2:04:58Speaker 14: famous or whatever. But now I'm mature, I've grown up,
- 2:05:01Speaker 14: and I'm certainly not fighting anymore, and that kind of
- 2:05:03Speaker 14: version of me is it doesn't really exist anymore. And
- 2:05:06Speaker 14: I don't find myself being combative at all. You know,
- 2:05:09Speaker 14: I still work, I still train every day. Like, for example,
- 2:05:13Speaker 14: there's been two occasions recently where I have been assaulted
- 2:05:16Speaker 14: in the streets and.
- 2:05:18Speaker 1: Done nothing about it, full on punched in the face.
- 2:05:22Speaker 1: And I could.
- 2:05:24Speaker 14: I could have made minced meat of these two hour souls.
- 2:05:27Speaker 14: Just I was in New Orleans. I was in New Orleans.
- 2:05:31Speaker 14: I was in New Orleans, and I'm walking down Bourbon Street.
- 2:05:33Speaker 14: I've never been there before. I don't want to go back.
- 2:05:35Speaker 14: Burbon Street is a shithole. No offense I associated. I
- 2:05:39Speaker 14: got assaulted, you know what I mean. And then with
- 2:05:43Speaker 14: my wife, and there's a bunch of young guys like
- 2:05:45Speaker 14: playing on the upside down buckets and playing drums and stuff.
- 2:05:49Speaker 14: So I'm doing a little touristy thing. I'm filming little
- 2:05:52Speaker 14: Instagram stories. Guy gets in my faces that you can't film.
- 2:05:55Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I can.
- 2:05:57Speaker 14: It's a it's a public place, and I carry on films.
- 2:05:59Speaker 14: Is you're I'm gonna tell you again you can't film.
- 2:06:02Speaker 14: I'm like, yes, I fucking can, and I carry on
- 2:06:05Speaker 14: film and he gets right in my face. I said,
- 2:06:07Speaker 14: sog my fucking dick, and he just goes fair play
- 2:06:10Speaker 14: to him, fair play, fair play, shug my fucking dick,
- 2:06:16Speaker 14: and he just went boom and punched me. I was
- 2:06:18Speaker 14: there with my wife and my youngest son, who what
- 2:06:21Speaker 14: was he like ten at the time or something.
- 2:06:24Speaker 1: But the punch was so pathetic.
- 2:06:26Speaker 14: It literally my reaction. I laughed my head off. This
- 2:06:32Speaker 14: is not me trying to sound tough. It literally was
- 2:06:34Speaker 14: like ding and I just I said, what was that?
- 2:06:38Speaker 14: I said, did you just punch me in the face?
- 2:06:40Speaker 5: I said, is that?
- 2:06:40Speaker 14: I said, you come up and you talk all that
- 2:06:42Speaker 14: ship and you punch me in the face, and that
- 2:06:45Speaker 14: is what you have to offer.
- 2:06:47Speaker 1: I said, come on. Adam was laughing my head off.
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: So we just walked away.
- 2:06:50Speaker 2: Because he had a swing and kind of get ready.
- 2:06:53Speaker 14: So so I have a YouTube channel and my most
- 2:06:55Speaker 14: watched video is because because I do a podcast as well, and.
- 2:07:00Speaker 1: This guy put a video out because he found out.
- 2:07:03Speaker 14: Who I was afterwards, so I took his footage and
- 2:07:06Speaker 14: used it integrated it onto my video. It's my most
- 2:07:09Speaker 14: watched video. But his version of events is exactly the
- 2:07:12Speaker 14: same as mine. It's exactly the same. We didn't lie,
- 2:07:15Speaker 14: do you know what I mean? Ordered to stop filming,
- 2:07:18Speaker 14: and he wouldn't film, so he told me to suck
- 2:07:20Speaker 14: his dick. So I punished him in the face. I'm like, say,
- 2:07:23Speaker 14: I told you. And then recently I've never spoken about
- 2:07:27Speaker 14: this before I was.
- 2:07:28Speaker 5: I was.
- 2:07:28Speaker 14: I was back home and in clither Or where I'm from,
- 2:07:31Speaker 14: and I was at dinner with my mom, who's almost
- 2:07:34Speaker 14: eighty years old. She can't walk, she's on crutches, and
- 2:07:36Speaker 14: with my sister, she's got a newborn baby. It's beautiful
- 2:07:39Speaker 14: summers now, it's about twelve of us, a very nice
- 2:07:42Speaker 14: family atmosphere.
- 2:07:42Speaker 1: It's a five thirty PM and I'm.
- 2:07:45Speaker 14: Sitting there and these guys walking, I said, guy sixty
- 2:07:49Speaker 14: years old old, drunk, bombs walking, hammered, drunk, and one
- 2:07:55Speaker 14: of he just walks over to me.
- 2:07:56Speaker 1: He says, you don't remember me, do you?
- 2:07:58Speaker 14: And like whenever I go there's always old faces that
- 2:08:02Speaker 14: I can't remember the names.
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: Well, hello, good to see yeah, I said, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:08:08Speaker 2: good to see it.
- 2:08:08Speaker 1: He said, you don't remember do you.
- 2:08:10Speaker 14: I said, oh, well, I don't remember your name, but yeah,
- 2:08:12Speaker 14: your face is familiar.
- 2:08:13Speaker 1: He says, no, let me give you a reminder.
- 2:08:15Speaker 14: And I've got a scar between my eyes where I've
- 2:08:18Speaker 14: got a big metal stool smashed in my head when
- 2:08:20Speaker 14: I was about seventeen, and then twenty guys jumps on
- 2:08:22Speaker 14: my head. He says, look at that, you're scar between
- 2:08:25Speaker 14: your eyes. I did that, I said, right, I said,
- 2:08:28Speaker 14: I think you need to walk away. So he goes away,
- 2:08:31Speaker 14: and they sit down the other side of the restaurant.
- 2:08:33Speaker 14: And it comes to the end of the night. I'm
- 2:08:35Speaker 14: paying the bill and I'm standing by the front door.
- 2:08:38Speaker 14: And then they walked past again and they start talking
- 2:08:40Speaker 14: more shit. I said, what are you doing?
- 2:08:41Speaker 1: I said, here, I don't know who you were. I
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: remember it.
- 2:08:44Speaker 14: This was nineteen ninety seven, by the way, do.
- 2:08:47Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 2:08:48Speaker 14: We've all moved on with our line say he'd at
- 2:08:50Speaker 14: least know like what you became. Well, he did, that's
- 2:08:53Speaker 14: what he's doing it. So anyway, as I'm talking to
- 2:08:54Speaker 14: one guy, do the guy sucker punches me and he
- 2:08:57Speaker 14: has a ring on explose my nose, know what I mean?
- 2:09:00Speaker 14: And then as he hits me, he falls on the
- 2:09:02Speaker 14: floor right and they just hammered drunk, and I'm standing
- 2:09:05Speaker 14: there and I'm just like, God, I could fuck him
- 2:09:09Speaker 14: up so easily right now, but.
- 2:09:10Speaker 1: I just didn't do anything, didn't do anything right because
- 2:09:13Speaker 1: I'm not doing that. I'm not lowering myself to that.
- 2:09:16Speaker 14: I'm not coming back to my hometown where he used
- 2:09:18Speaker 14: to always be getting in fights. And they say he's, oh,
- 2:09:21Speaker 14: Michael Bisbee's back. He's only been back two minutes. He's
- 2:09:23Speaker 14: already getting into fights.
- 2:09:24Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean.
- 2:09:26Speaker 14: I'm not perpetuating now who this guy is because I
- 2:09:29Speaker 14: was not just that. I'm not that guy anymore. That
- 2:09:31Speaker 14: was the whole point of this.
- 2:09:32Speaker 1: I'm not that guy anymore.
- 2:09:33Speaker 5: You know when in your mind did it shifted. I'm
- 2:09:36Speaker 5: not going to be that guy anymore.
- 2:09:37Speaker 14: I'm not there when I was in prison, but still
- 2:09:39Speaker 14: when I was fighting, I was younger, yeah. But when
- 2:09:42Speaker 14: I retired, because I see myself back on old like
- 2:09:46Speaker 14: old promos and stuff, and I'm like, oh god, he's
- 2:09:50Speaker 14: that guy.
- 2:09:51Speaker 5: He's that guy.
- 2:09:52Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean?
- 2:09:53Speaker 14: I'm like Jesus Christ. So how did your mom react
- 2:09:56Speaker 14: to that? Well, they could have believed I walked it on.
- 2:10:00Speaker 14: My nose was all bloody, and they were like, what
- 2:10:02Speaker 14: has just happened? You're only paying the bill. Drama follows
- 2:10:06Speaker 14: you everywhere? Yeah, yeah, No, my mom's she's seen it before.
- 2:10:12Speaker 2: Yeah, she's seen it.
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: When you when you're retired, was there thought of you?
- 2:10:16Speaker 3: There was there a part of you. It's like I
- 2:10:17Speaker 3: want to retire, but I want to go out with
- 2:10:19Speaker 3: the wind. I want to go out on top, not
- 2:10:21Speaker 3: on top, but I want to go out with the wind. Absolutely,
- 2:10:24Speaker 3: of course.
- 2:10:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:10:26Speaker 14: Because I was going to fight again as well against
- 2:10:28Speaker 14: Wishard Evans. We were going to have a rematch, but
- 2:10:30Speaker 14: for one reason or another, it never happened. And then
- 2:10:33Speaker 14: an old friend of mine said to me as well.
- 2:10:35Speaker 14: He said, he said, Michael, what are you doing?
- 2:10:37Speaker 5: And I said well, and.
- 2:10:39Speaker 1: Then my manager already as well. There was a few people.
- 2:10:41Speaker 1: I said, well, I want to go back to London.
- 2:10:43Speaker 14: I want to fight the old two arena one last time,
- 2:10:46Speaker 14: and I want to thank the audience and I want
- 2:10:48Speaker 14: to have that moment where you take your gloves off
- 2:10:50Speaker 14: and you put it down and you thank them the
- 2:10:52Speaker 14: crowd and thank you for all the support over the
- 2:10:55Speaker 14: years and all the rest of it. And he was
- 2:10:57Speaker 14: already Actually my manager is like you or man, seen
- 2:11:00Speaker 14: that in your head? You know, he said, you've got
- 2:11:03Speaker 14: one eye. You want to go blind? You want to
- 2:11:05Speaker 14: risk going blind? Because the fight before that, when I
- 2:11:08Speaker 14: fought Gelvin Gasolon, because every time, because I used to
- 2:11:11Speaker 14: cheat the tests. Okay, they're not that hard to cheat
- 2:11:14Speaker 14: if if if you're a little scallywagl like eye was
- 2:11:17Speaker 14: growing up, they're not that hard to cheat, right, But
- 2:11:21Speaker 14: the doctors used to always say, you know, you've been
- 2:11:23Speaker 14: very you know, risky, still fighting because if anything happens
- 2:11:27Speaker 14: to you a good eye, you know you could go blind.
- 2:11:31Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, it's fine. And I was like, well, line,
- 2:11:33Speaker 1: he's not going to strike twice.
- 2:11:35Speaker 5: That was my logic, right.
- 2:11:36Speaker 14: So it happened in one eye. The odds of that
- 2:11:38Speaker 14: happening on the second eye is minimal.
- 2:11:40Speaker 1: It's not going to happen. But when I got knocked
- 2:11:42Speaker 1: out in China.
- 2:11:43Speaker 14: Afterwards, we went to a nightclub and we're sitting in
- 2:11:46Speaker 14: there and my eyes just kept going flashing. Every time
- 2:11:50Speaker 14: I looked left, it would give a flash, and I thought,
- 2:11:52Speaker 14: oh my god, because I remember the symptoms when I
- 2:11:54Speaker 14: had the detached retin of the first time. So that
- 2:11:58Speaker 14: was why, you know, I wasn't going to fight again.
- 2:12:02Speaker 14: But then I wanted that that send off, you.
- 2:12:04Speaker 5: Know what I mean.
- 2:12:05Speaker 1: And he reminded me. I said, what are you doing?
- 2:12:07Speaker 5: You want to go blind?
- 2:12:08Speaker 1: He said, for what?
- 2:12:09Speaker 14: Some some idea, some theory that you've got in your mind.
- 2:12:12Speaker 14: This this whole big romantic send off. He said, you're
- 2:12:15Speaker 14: being stupid. I thought, you know what, You're absolutely right.
- 2:12:19Speaker 5: Do you have any more?
- 2:12:20Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:12:20Speaker 3: I do.
- 2:12:20Speaker 2: I mean kind of a cheeky question, kind of bulls
- 2:12:22Speaker 2: you just go on clip or whatever.
- 2:12:24Speaker 1: But I've seen how the UFC is today.
- 2:12:26Speaker 2: If you were picking out fighters, if you were in
- 2:12:28Speaker 2: your prime again, who were the guys that you would
- 2:12:30Speaker 2: love to crack at.
- 2:12:31Speaker 1: Fighters right now today?
- 2:12:33Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 2:12:34Speaker 1: Well, I used to train with him a lot.
- 2:12:35Speaker 14: Show Strickland would be easy, works.
- 2:12:40Speaker 5: A lot of sogny.
- 2:12:41Speaker 14: I'm joking. By the way, Sean Strickland is a lot
- 2:12:44Speaker 14: of son. Your drig is DUPLESSI. Who else is in
- 2:12:46Speaker 14: the top five? Give me all of those?
- 2:12:48Speaker 1: You know, I wouldn't want to go up. Tom asked me, no,
- 2:12:51Speaker 1: fog that was that? Have you seen the size of him?
- 2:12:54Speaker 1: I know you're a big boy.
- 2:12:56Speaker 14: I'm telling you, whoever wins that fight between Jones the Steepee,
- 2:13:00Speaker 14: they should retire because they're going to get their asswarps,
- 2:13:04Speaker 14: simple as that. And I love Jones and I love
- 2:13:06Speaker 14: Steep and I've got so much respect. Look at what
- 2:13:09Speaker 14: he did to Pavlovitch. And I was saying this coming
- 2:13:12Speaker 14: into this fire, and DC was like, what are you doing?
- 2:13:15Speaker 14: What are you talking about? You know, He's like, you're
- 2:13:17Speaker 14: kissing this guy's ass. I'm like, no, I'm basing this
- 2:13:20Speaker 14: off what I see. And he went out and he
- 2:13:22Speaker 14: did it again, and I don't see anybody stopping him.
- 2:13:26Speaker 3: With all these uh, with all these fight leagues coming about,
- 2:13:30Speaker 3: do you think any other league has a shot to
- 2:13:32Speaker 3: compete with the UFC at any point?
- 2:13:35Speaker 1: Probably?
- 2:13:36Speaker 2: Not.
- 2:13:36Speaker 14: You know, there's always new iterations. There's always people want
- 2:13:40Speaker 14: to come up and do things differently and change the
- 2:13:42Speaker 14: rules and tweet this and that. You know, I don't
- 2:13:45Speaker 14: think so. I mean, it's it's the household name.
- 2:13:48Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:13:48Speaker 1: It's like I don't know much about football.
- 2:13:49Speaker 14: You got the NFL, what the xflally competing?
- 2:13:54Speaker 1: Like, what is it called the PFIL You got the PFL.
- 2:13:58Speaker 4: Let me have a CFL.
- 2:13:59Speaker 2: Pfil knocks about UFLFL for the fighters profile everything or
- 2:14:05Speaker 2: the FC the ohiops, you know.
- 2:14:07Speaker 3: No, no not because based on like the fighter pay
- 2:14:11Speaker 3: and the well always what happens from my notedge is
- 2:14:15Speaker 3: that they try and poach away other UFC fighters by
- 2:14:17Speaker 3: paying them exorbiting amounts of money that they're not necessarily
- 2:14:21Speaker 3: worth sometimes.
- 2:14:22Speaker 1: But in the UFC, there's no better place.
- 2:14:24Speaker 14: If you can become champion and you get pay per
- 2:14:27Speaker 14: view points, that's what you're going to make.
- 2:14:28Speaker 1: The most money.
- 2:14:29Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:14:29Speaker 14: And I always get accused of being a company man.
- 2:14:32Speaker 14: Well I am a company man and I'm proud to be.
- 2:14:34Speaker 14: So it changed my life, you know, I changed my
- 2:14:37Speaker 14: life one hundred percent. And you'll notice that the people
- 2:14:39Speaker 14: making good money, the krem de la creme, the people
- 2:14:42Speaker 14: that they're not bitching, they're not complaining because the money
- 2:14:45Speaker 14: is there, you know, I mean, look at Connor McGregor
- 2:14:47Speaker 14: for crying out loud and granted he's like, you know,
- 2:14:51Speaker 14: he's kind of like a unicorn, if you will, But
- 2:14:53Speaker 14: there's plenty of other people that are making very.
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: Very good livings.
- 2:14:56Speaker 5: Do you like Chandler McGregor?
- 2:14:58Speaker 14: Probably Chandler, Let's be honest. You know, McGregor's has been out.
- 2:15:02Speaker 14: It'll be almost four years by then. He's made so
- 2:15:05Speaker 14: much money and the motivation probably isn't there, you know,
- 2:15:09Speaker 14: And he likes to party, and why not, God bless him. Hey,
- 2:15:13Speaker 14: you enjoy yourself.
- 2:15:14Speaker 1: He's done it. He come in, he changed the game,
- 2:15:17Speaker 1: won the belts, made the money.
- 2:15:20Speaker 14: Well, we're boys, and Michael's gonna good to hear that. Yeah, no, no,
- 2:15:23Speaker 14: of course you are. Yeah, I love Channeler as well. Listen,
- 2:15:27Speaker 14: what else has McGregor got to prove? The only reason
- 2:15:30Speaker 14: he still wants to fight is because you can have
- 2:15:32Speaker 14: all the money in the world, but you can't buy
- 2:15:36Speaker 14: a championship in the UFC. And and as all fighters,
- 2:15:40Speaker 14: we operate on ego and we want to say we're
- 2:15:43Speaker 14: the best, we're the toy. And he goes back to
- 2:15:45Speaker 14: as I was saying before, but me always getting in fights.
- 2:15:47Speaker 14: I wanted to be the baddest motherfucker around. I wanted
- 2:15:49Speaker 14: to be the toughest guy. And it's the same ship,
- 2:15:51Speaker 14: it's the same school yard stuff that we're all fucking doing.
- 2:15:55Speaker 14: But we're professional fighters. They want to be the toughest
- 2:15:58Speaker 14: and the hardest and the baddest guy. And McGregor wants that,
- 2:16:01Speaker 14: and he's trying to prove that he still is. You know,
- 2:16:04Speaker 14: that's why you're coming back. And he's respect from the
- 2:16:06Speaker 14: fight community, and the only way you get that is
- 2:16:08Speaker 14: by fighting. You can't buy that. So fair play to
- 2:16:11Speaker 14: him for still trying, you.
- 2:16:12Speaker 1: Know what I mean, But he gives a need to.
- 2:16:14Speaker 5: Yeah, Michael Man, thank you for coming on.
