- 0:00Speaker 1: You know what we were talking earlier about friendship. You know,
- 0:03Speaker 1: it's I really appreciate some of the true friends that
- 0:06Speaker 1: I have. True friendship is really hard to find. And
- 0:10Speaker 1: the older you get, the smaller the group becomes because
- 0:14Speaker 1: you understand and eventually, as you get up in this age,
- 0:17Speaker 1: you start to losing people. I want to say that
- 0:20Speaker 1: I lost the guy that I considered a friend recently
- 0:23Speaker 1: out of Louisville, Kentucky, Junior Bridgeman. Junior Bridgeman passed away
- 0:29Speaker 1: man and I that hit me so hard the other
- 0:33Speaker 1: day on the set because I was going out to
- 0:35Speaker 1: do the last show and his guy, Charles, had texted
- 0:39Speaker 1: me earlier said call me nine one one, his right
- 0:42Speaker 1: hand man, Charles Alexander. But I was on the set,
- 0:46Speaker 1: so I didn't respond. And then I texted him and
- 0:48Speaker 1: I said I saw an article that Junior passed out
- 0:51Speaker 1: and then his next text was I didn't get it
- 0:55Speaker 1: because he texted I was on set, and I went
- 0:58Speaker 1: down to the set and then my assistant came up said, amen,
- 1:01Speaker 1: Junior Bridgeman died today and it broke my heart. And
- 1:06Speaker 1: we had to hold off on the show because I
- 1:08Speaker 1: had to go outside and get myself together. Man Junior
- 1:11Speaker 1: Bridgeman out of Louisville, Kentucky, used to play for the
- 1:13Speaker 1: Milwaukee Bucks. Was one of the greatest men I've ever
- 1:20Speaker 1: met in terms of being a Christian, in terms of
- 1:25Speaker 1: being a husband, in terms of being a father, and
- 1:29Speaker 1: then he happened to be a great businessman. But I
- 1:34Speaker 1: had never seen that combination in a man before. Hardly ever,
- 1:40Speaker 1: there's usually something flawed in a person. And I'm not
- 1:43Speaker 1: saying he was perfect, but Junior Bridgeman out of Louisville,
- 1:47Speaker 1: Kentucky was one of the best men I had ever met.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And sitting at his house, meeting his children, meeting his wife,
- 1:57Speaker 1: I went to the Kentucky Derby for him. This man
- 2:00Speaker 1: right here was a pillar in the community. And I'm
- 2:04Speaker 1: not using cliches. Junior Bridgeman was just a great human
- 2:09Speaker 1: being out of Louisville, Kentucky and black people, you don't
- 2:14Speaker 1: know what you lost. But he did so many things
- 2:17Speaker 1: in terms of black people. In franchising restaurants. He was
- 2:21Speaker 1: started off as a great franchisee. This dude was major.
- 2:25Speaker 1: He ended up buying Coca Cola piece. He was in
- 2:28Speaker 1: the bids to buy the Timberwoods, the Panthers football team.
- 2:33Speaker 1: He was always in the running for something. He was
- 2:36Speaker 1: up for buying Ebony magazine. He was a bid in
- 2:39Speaker 1: for Bee t This dude was brilliant. Junior Bridgeman was
- 2:44Speaker 1: one of the kindest, finest men I've ever met in
- 2:49Speaker 1: all my dealings of business, in all of it, I
- 2:52Speaker 1: never met a single soul that was better at all
- 2:56Speaker 1: those things than Junior Bridgeman in Louisville, Kentucky. And I'm
- 3:01Speaker 1: telling you right now, man, this dude, this dude was special.
- 3:06Speaker 1: We lost somebody man with that one. Junior Bridgeman, hands down,
- 3:12Speaker 1: best man, one of the best men I've ever met.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Of all the people I've met in my life, I
- 3:19Speaker 1: will tell you right now, Junior Bridgeman was up there
- 3:22Speaker 1: in the top three. And I'd have met some good people,
- 3:26Speaker 1: but Junior Bridgeman was about it. Man. Our condolences go
- 3:31Speaker 1: out to his family, his beautiful wife, his sons, to
- 3:36Speaker 1: Charles Alexander, his right hand man, to the city of Louisville,
- 3:41Speaker 1: to Louisville University, to the Milwaukee Buck family, everybody, because
- 3:47Speaker 1: I'm telling you flat out, you really can't find nobody
- 3:52Speaker 1: say something bad about Junior Bridge. I've never heard it
- 3:57Speaker 1: that dude was about a good person, noble and honestly.
