- 0:00And not as those statements when you look sort did you say them? Uh?
- 0:12I guess in do you know it look like uh things started to get
- 0:21away from you guys at the end of the first quarter into the second quarter.
- 0:25What did you see there, uh out of your team that uh,
- 0:31well, you know, going going into the game and when when you're playing,
- 0:42you know, with sort of the limitations that we have with our roster
- 0:48right now, you're gonna need a little bit of help obviously, uh,
- 0:52and you're gonna have to play exceptionally well. I thought that I thought our
- 1:00transition to defense kind of fell apart for s for long stretches, and they
- 1:07took advantage of every mistake that we made. I thought some of our defensive
- 1:12stuff again was I again? I I just keep going back to if you're
- 1:23gonna win a game like this, you you either have to have more more
- 1:26players, better talent, or you're gonna have to play a much smarter game
- 1:33and get some help from the other two. And we did not play a
- 1:37very smart game in the first half, and we certainly didn't get any help
- 1:41from them cause they took advantage of every mistake that we That would mean second
- 1:45half, you know, we fixed a bunch of things, you know,
- 1:47and I think it was like a four point difference in the second half.
- 1:49We we kind of got a bunch of things squared away, but by the
- 1:53end it might have been a little too little too late. Uh yeah,
- 2:00coach in South Carolina's death, What what does that do to in office?
- 2:02Already pretty good in terms of any of their their ceiling. What does that
- 2:06depth being of a brand, you know for whor girls off the bench to
- 2:07be able to produce like that do from that program. Yeah, there are
- 2:13much different, you know, much different team than uh some of the previous
- 2:19teams obviously that we played down here, and their the their style of play
- 2:25is different, not just their depth is different, but their style of play
- 2:29is different. You know. They're they're able to, you know, keep
- 2:36the pressure on because they can bring uh bring more bodies off the bench,
- 2:43but they they have the ability to put pressure on you from the premmeter as
- 2:47well as inside way more so than any other time that I remember, right,
- 2:57you said earlier this week that you know, if at things along with
- 3:00when nothing really changes for you guys, all to the backet still a month
- 3:02away. One of your virgin takes away from this knowing the only a few
- 3:06weeks left in the regular season, I mean, ever since all the stuff
- 3:10that happened when our roster, that's the furthest thing from my mind. I
- 3:14mean, I could c I could care less about that. You know.
- 3:19We we have a bunch of young guys playing college basketball for the first time,
- 3:23and they've gotten better and better, you know, each and every week,
- 3:30and we need to make sure that they keep getting better every week.
- 3:36We we have to, we have to do more things right than ever before
- 3:43because of the situation that we're in. And we're not gonna get any bigger.
- 3:49We're not gonna add any more players, and we're not gonna get any
- 3:52you know, taller. But we need to get a little smarter if we
- 3:55wanna be if we wanna be able to win some of these games. Games
- 4:00you know, come marks. So we got we got some work to do.
- 4:06I thought we competed, you know, like hell, there were just
- 4:12times when we were just worn down. Today, you know, we we
- 4:15we just don't there's not much that we could have. You know that those
- 4:21guys did play their brains out, you know, but when you get as
- 4:27many open looks as we got, you need to make most of those in
- 4:30a game like this. You know, I I sh probably miss more shots
- 4:33tonight than she has in the last month, a month and a half.
- 4:39You know, we just didn't get an out again. You you you don't.
- 4:43You're not gonna get unlimited opportunities. So the ones you do get you
- 4:46have to take advantage of, and and and then they're just kind of a
- 4:55tough night for Nika, just two assists. So did you feel like they
- 4:58did something to take her away and take away some of that passing game that
- 5:00has helped you guys out recently. No, I don't think it was anything
- 5:05that they did, and I just think that you could have a lousy game.
- 5:09I don't think it had anything to do with anything else, you know,
- 5:15do you know, Agnes you mentioned you know you can't add players,
- 5:17You can't get any quicker, you can't get any bigger between now and and
- 5:21next month. But it is the are the players who who are not playing
- 5:26a lot, are they making progress in in practice? Is that something that
- 5:29that you would consider or at this point is it just too late to experiment
- 5:32the people more how playing? No, the guys that are playing are gonna
- 5:35keep playing and the guys that aren't playing aren't gonna play at this late stage.
- 5:40Nobody's getting miraculously better that all of a sudden they I can put'em
- 5:45in a game like this and think they're gonna help us. That's not gonna
- 5:46happen. But Ice has to be better, and that's you know, KK
- 5:55has to be a little a little more understanding of there's so many things that
- 6:02she can do, but there's some things you're not gonna be able to do,
- 6:06and went to and went not to. It's the biggest learning curve for
- 6:11the for the younger guys. But no, the the this the you know,
- 6:19Q has her moments and and we're gonna keep working on her because we
- 6:27need her into rotation as these next couple weeks unfold. So the seven that
- 6:33we have right now that are playing in the most minutes, that's it the
- 6:35way it's gonna be. It's gonna be on those seven. And hopefully it
- 6:42was a great learning experience for those young guys cause it's the first time that
- 6:46they really had to play big roles in a in a game like this.
- 6:49But we got a lot out of page and page and shoot the ball particularly
- 6:55well. We got a lot out of a lah, But if we don't
- 7:00get more out of Ice than that's just gonna be even more difficult for a
- 7:03leader to do what she does. So bottom line is our starting five has
- 7:12to play really really well every night for us to to be able to win
- 7:15these games. Anything else can coach that's good? Oh really sorry, I
- 7:24just I mean, what did you think of Page's performance today? She kind
- 7:27of you know, came out hot and had that little sum in the middle.
- 7:30Who just kind of how did you think she handled everything? Again,
- 7:35the the scenario to winning and to really good players being really good is you
- 7:51need you need other good players around you to play well, but you also
- 7:57need time on the bench to rec to re re charge yourself. And unfortunately
- 8:03she doesn't get enough of that. So she's out there for thirty nine minutes
- 8:07every night and there's a lot of pressure on her to have to make big
- 8:11shots, make big plays, play defense, bang around down and we just
- 8:16can't give her enough, uh enough help, So it unfortunately Page doesn't wanna
- 8:26play the way she's gonna need to play down the stretch. She's gonna have
- 8:30to force the issue every time down the floor, and that's not how she
- 8:33likes to play, which is gonna take even more out of her going forward.
- 8:45So yeah, she uh, she's got a lot of her shoulders right
- 8:52now. Alright, thanks coach, Aliah Edward said, teas backers and the
- 8:58available as any pubber pros.
