  Words that matter. Has a rumor ever gotten back to

  you? Something that someone said
• 0:18
  about you that spread through your friend group before you
• 0:20
  even knew what was happening? There's something about gossip
• 0:24
  that moves faster than almost anything else.
• 0:27
  Proverbs chapter 18, verse 8 nails it.
• 0:30
  The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels.
• 0:33
  They go down into the inner parts of the body.
• 0:36
  Gossip is appealing. It feels like it tastes good in
• 0:39
  the moment, but it goes deep, it sticks, and it does real damage
• 0:44
  to the person being talked about and honestly to the person doing
• 0:47
  the talking. David found himself in a
• 0:50
  situation in First Samuel, chapter 21, where people were
• 0:54
  suspicious and afraid of him. He was alone, out of context,
• 0:58
  and being watched. Aheimlec, the priest, trembled
• 1:01
  when he saw him. Why are you alone and no one
• 1:04
  with you? Fear and uncertainty surrounded
• 1:07
  David. He was walking through one of
• 1:09
  the most vulnerable seasons of his life, fleeing, hiding,
• 1:13
  unsure of who he could trust. And in those moments, Psalm 34,
• 1:18
  verse 4 became his anchor. I sought the Lord, and He
• 1:21
  answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
• 1:24
  And Psalm 56 verse 3 echoes it. When I am afraid, I put my trust
• 1:29
  in God, not in public opinion, not in his own strength or
• 1:34
  reputation, not in who was talking about him or what rumors
• 1:38
  were circulating in God. That's such a clear path forward
• 1:43
  for all of us in a world where words, especially online, can
• 1:47
  spread so fast and cut so deep. When people are whispering, when
• 1:51
  fear starts creeping in, when the pressure of what others
• 1:54
  think becomes overwhelming, the response that actually works is
• 1:58
  to run toward God, not to keep up with the noise.

  Proverbs also says in verse 9 that slacking in your work makes
• 2:07
  you a brother to destruction. Half hearted effort and careless
• 2:10
  living invite their own kind of chaos.
• 2:13
  How you work, how you speak, and where you place your trust.
• 2:16
  These things are all connected. Choose diligence.
• 2:20
  Choose life giving words. Choose trust in God over trust
• 2:24
  in your own management of what people think.
• 2:27
  Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
• 2:31
  being our refuge. When fear and gossip surround
• 2:34
  us, help us to speak words that build rather than whisper.
• 2:37
  Words that break. When fear creeps in about our
• 2:40
  reputation, our relationships, our future.
• 2:43
  Remind us of David's prayer. I sought you and you answered
• 2:47
  me. We put our trust in you.
• 2:49
  Deliver us from fear and teach us to live with courage and
• 2:53
  integrity. In Jesus name, Amen.

  said, I have no common bread, but there is holy bread, if only

  the young men have kept themselves from women.

  David answered the priest and said to him, Truly, women have

  been kept from us as usual these three days.

  When I came out, the vessels of the young men were holy, though

  it was only a common journey. How much more than today shall

  their vessels be holy? So the priest gave him holy

  bread, for there was no bread there, but the show bread that

  was taken from before Yahweh to put hot bread in the day when it
• 5:20
  was taken away. Now a certain man of the

  servants of Saul was there that day, detained before Yahweh, and

  his name was Doge the Edomite, the best of the herdsmen who

  belonged to Saul. David said to Ahem, Lech, isn't

  there here under your hand, spear or sword?

  For I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me,

  because the King's business required haste.

  The priest said, Behold, the sword of Goliath, the Philistine
• 5:48
  whom you killed in the valley of Allah is here wrapped in a cloth

  behind the ephod. If you would like to take that,

  take it, for there is no other except that here David said,

  there is none like that, give it to me.

  David arose and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to

  Achish the king of Gath. The servants of Achish said to

  David laid up these words in his heart, and was very afraid of a

  Chish, the king of Gath. He changed his behavior before

  them and pretended to be insane in their hands, and scribbled on

  the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down on his

  beard. Then a Chish said to his

  servants, Look, you see the man is insane.

  Why then have you brought him to me?

  Do I lack Mad Men that you have brought this fellow to play the

  madman in my presence? Should this fellow come into my

  house? Psalm chapter 34.

  Yahweh's Angel encamps around those who fear Him and delivers

  them. Oh, taste and see that Yahweh is

  good. Blessed is the man who takes

  refuge in him. O fear Yahweh, you his Saints,

  for there is no lack with those who fear Him.

  The Young Lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who
• 7:40
  seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing.

  Come you children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of
• 7:47
  Yahweh, who is someone who desires life and loves many
• 7:50
  days, that he may see good. Keep your tongue from evil and
• 7:54
  your lips from speaking lies. Depart from evil and do good.

  Seek peace and pursue it. Yahweh's eyes are toward the
• 8:02
  righteous. His ears listen to their cry.

  Yahweh's face is against those who do evil to cut off their
• 8:09
  memory from the earth. The righteous cry and Yahweh
• 8:12
  hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.

  Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those
• 8:19
  who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the
• 8:23
  righteous, but Yahweh delivers Him out of them all.

  He protects all of His bones. Not one of them is broken.
• 8:30
  Evil shall kill the wicked. Those who hate the righteous
• 8:33
  shall be condemned. Yahweh redeems the soul of His
• 8:36
  servants. None of those who take refuge in
• 8:39
  Him shall be condemned. Psalm chapter 56.

  World English Bible. Be merciful to me God, for man

  wants to swallow me up all day long.

  He attacks and oppresses me. My enemies want to swallow me up

  all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me.

  You count my wanderings, You put my tears into your container.

  Aren't they in your book? Then my enemies shall turn back

  in the day that I call. I know this, that God is for me.

  In God I will praise His word. In Yahweh I will praise His

  word. I have put my trust in God.

  I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

  Your vows are on me, God. I will give thank offerings to

  you, for you have delivered my soul from death and prevented my
• 9:49
  feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of
