- 0:32This is Gracelyn Keller with the Becker's Healthcare
- 0:34Podcast, and we are recording live at the
- 0:36thirteenth annual CEO and CFO roundtable.
- 0:39I'm currently joined by Martha Ku, who is
- 0:41the CMO at Your Behavioral Health. So, Martha,
- 0:44thank you so much for being here. I'm
- 0:46gonna have you start off by introducing yourself
- 0:47and telling us a little bit more about
- 0:49your background.
- 0:50Thank you, Grace. Very happy to be here.
- 0:52So as you mentioned, I'm the CMO of
- 0:54Your Behavioral Health,
- 0:55which is a multi site insurance based Southern
- 0:58California behavioral health care company.
- 1:01We offer a full continuum of care,
- 1:04for teens and adults, virtual and in person,
- 1:08for mental health and substance use disorder. I'm
- 1:10a psychiatrist,
- 1:11double board certified
- 1:12in adult psychiatry and addiction medicine, and I'm
- 1:15also the immediate past president of the Clinical
- 1:17TMS Society.
- 1:19Wonderful. Well, thank you so much for being
- 1:21here.
- 1:22And let's start with talking about your growth
- 1:24strategy for the next year or two. Oh,
- 1:26that's a great question. I think, our growth
- 1:28strategy is no different than it's always been
- 1:30and what's proven very effective, which we focus
- 1:33on providing easy access to very high quality
- 1:36evidence based care. And we found that,
- 1:39doing that in our communities has continued to
- 1:41allow us to expand and grow,
- 1:44really exponentially.
- 1:46So tell us about the most exciting and
- 1:48impactful initiative or project that you've been working
- 1:51on right now.
- 1:52That's a hard question because we always have
- 1:54a lot of exciting and impactful,
- 1:57initiatives. But I I think I'd have to
- 1:58pick, which is, is a lot of people
- 2:00are doing now is leveraging technology.
- 2:02We're really working hard to streamline both the
- 2:05provider and patient experience. So working on our
- 2:08intake documents,
- 2:10better collaborative care models,
- 2:12even considering adding translation services so we can,
- 2:16be really culturally sensitive to as we grow
- 2:18in different communities.
- 2:19A 100%.
- 2:21And what is the most important thing health
- 2:23care executives should do right now to make
- 2:24sure their organizations are successful in the future?
- 2:28I think the most important thing health care
- 2:29executives need to do is remember that
- 2:32health care is a human commodity. So they
- 2:35need to invest in people.
- 2:36And when I say people, I'm referring to
- 2:38both,
- 2:39workforces in the organization as well as the
- 2:42patients we provide. So I think it's really
- 2:45important to make sure that,
- 2:47team members are supported and sustained,
- 2:50in in positive cultures, and we're reducing the
- 2:53burdens of the care they have to provide
- 2:56and also focusing on patients that real they're
- 2:59really working on strategies and initiatives that,
- 3:03convince patients, right, to trust them and the
- 3:06organization. So listening to them,
- 3:08giving good feedback, and making changes,
- 3:11so that we have we earn and maintain
- 3:13the trust.
- 3:14Wonderful. Well, Martha, thanks so much for joining
- 3:16me today on the Becker's Healthcare Podcast. Again,
- 3:18we are recording live at the thirteenth annual
- 3:21CEO and CFO roundtable.
- 3:23Thank you so much.
