- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's almost Famous podcast.
- 0:07Speaker 3: And as the drama unfolds with the bachelorettes, Taylor, Frankie, Paul,
- 0:12Speaker 3: we're bringing you all the latest news. The team has
- 0:16Speaker 3: been working overnight gathering information and hearing from sources and
- 0:22Speaker 3: trying to understand one I think the big questions is
- 0:27Speaker 3: the season going to happen? Should it happen? I think
- 0:30Speaker 3: is a question all of us should be asking, should
- 0:32Speaker 3: it even happen at this point? And then also what happened?
- 0:36Speaker 3: What's going on? There's so much information out there that
- 0:41Speaker 3: we really need to get clarity on what exactly went down.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I have producer Heather with me today, who has stayed
- 0:47Speaker 3: up all night working through this show and gathering the
- 0:50Speaker 3: information that's necessary. We're going to be sharing some things
- 0:54Speaker 3: from our sources and speaking about some alleged information we have,
- 1:02Speaker 3: but also sharing some information that we know to be
- 1:04Speaker 3: true because we've been able to confirm it. Heather, let's
- 1:08Speaker 3: start with the kind of the I think the thing
- 1:12Speaker 3: that made us understand right away, you know, the news
- 1:16Speaker 3: broke that I believe the first news was that Mormon
- 1:20Speaker 3: wives had stopped filming, and yes, they had stopped filming
- 1:25Speaker 3: because of some type of issue. I think was the
- 1:29Speaker 3: original information we got that happened with Taylor, Frankie, Paul.
- 1:33Speaker 4: And Dakota is specifically they said and Dakota they stopped
- 1:36Speaker 4: filming because of it.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Do you know do we know have we heard if
- 1:40Speaker 3: they stopped filming because the cast or because the show said, Hey,
- 1:45Speaker 3: we shouldn't be filming in the midst of something like this.
- 1:47Speaker 4: All the sources that we've seen have confirmed that the
- 1:52Speaker 4: women on the show have united together and have decided
- 1:55Speaker 4: to not film because they have been told they can't
- 1:58Speaker 4: address what has been happening between Taylor and Dakota. And
- 2:02Speaker 4: I think anybody that's watched the show over multiple seasons
- 2:05Speaker 4: has seen these other cast members have to really go
- 2:09Speaker 4: through the fire, whether that was cheating, allegations in their
- 2:12Speaker 4: own marriage, things with their businesses, things with their exes.
- 2:17Speaker 4: And so the grasp that I'm seeing from all of
- 2:20Speaker 4: this coverage is that they're kind of fed up, that
- 2:23Speaker 4: they're kind of over the idea that, you know, they're
- 2:26Speaker 4: supposed to be sharing their reality, but they're not supposed
- 2:29Speaker 4: to really be talking about what's going on in their
- 2:31Speaker 4: reality right now, which is this drama that they keep
- 2:34Speaker 4: getting thrown into.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Here's here's a part before we dive into some of
- 2:38Speaker 3: the headlines that I'm really confused about, Heather, and maybe
- 2:41Speaker 3: you can help me make sense of it. We've been
- 2:43Speaker 3: doing these Frankie Fridays to get to know Taylor Frankie
- 2:46Speaker 3: Paul better.
- 2:47Speaker 2: She's been very.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Vulnerable, especially on social media, with her struggles mentally and
- 2:55Speaker 3: the mount of things she's trying to carry and the
- 2:57Speaker 3: weight of those things on her life. So we've seen
- 3:01Speaker 3: that side of it. But what I'm confused by is
- 3:05Speaker 3: this puzzle that I can't make sense of. So the
- 3:10Speaker 3: Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is under the same umbrella
- 3:13Speaker 3: as The Bachelorette. The same people are in, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 3: heading up both shows. At the very top, they know,
- 3:23Speaker 3: based on filming Secret Lives and Mormon Wives, that Taylor
- 3:27Speaker 3: Frankie Paul slept with the Code of the night before
- 3:29Speaker 3: she went on the Bachelorette. It was shown on television. Right,
- 3:32Speaker 3: This is not like a rumor. This is something that happened.
- 3:34Speaker 3: We saw on television. Yes, and then Season four of
- 3:38Speaker 3: Secret Lives of Mormon Wives does not make Taylor look great. Right,
- 3:43Speaker 3: It kind of doubles down on a lot of the
- 3:45Speaker 3: things that we've wondered about or been curious about, or
- 3:48Speaker 3: kind of that quote unquote messy storyline that we you know,
- 3:53Speaker 3: entered into when Taylor was announced to The Bachelorette. I
- 3:57Speaker 3: guess my question for you, as a fan of both,
- 4:02Speaker 3: why would they make their next lead look the way
- 4:06Speaker 3: they're looking on Secret Lives of Mormon wives? And why
- 4:10Speaker 3: would they continue filming The Bachelorette knowing that the night
- 4:13Speaker 3: before she went on the show she was still really
- 4:17Speaker 3: like engaged and not engaged like in a ring on
- 4:21Speaker 3: the finger since, but interested in this guy that she
- 4:25Speaker 3: has shown interest in for many years.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah, those are really good questions. I mean, listen, I
- 4:31Speaker 4: think from a producer standpoint, my guess would be that
- 4:34Speaker 4: they're looking for as much mess as can happen. Right.
- 4:38Speaker 4: She gets there and she's maybe got these conflicting feelings,
- 4:41Speaker 4: and you know, I think we talked about the idea
- 4:45Speaker 4: of maybe Dakota showing up mid season, but we heard
- 4:48Speaker 4: from him that that doesn't happen. So I think there
- 4:51Speaker 4: was that and you know, maybe that's that cliffhanger that
- 4:54Speaker 4: they leave you on at the end of season four
- 4:56Speaker 4: of Mormon Wives is because he says, save a rose
- 4:59Speaker 4: for me. So maybe somebody that's not following the headlines
- 5:02Speaker 4: is now going to tune in to Bachelorette to see, like,
- 5:05Speaker 4: does he go and get her? Do they get back together?
- 5:08Speaker 4: Obviously one you know, quick scan of the internet can
- 5:11Speaker 4: tell you kind of what's happened, And I think that's
- 5:14Speaker 4: also kind of been upsetting for a lot of fans
- 5:17Speaker 4: that were wanting to see how this all panned out
- 5:19Speaker 4: for her, because they are ultimately thinking now that she
- 5:24Speaker 4: didn't end up it with anybody, because there's still something
- 5:27Speaker 4: going on with Dakota and now we don't have confirmation
- 5:29Speaker 4: on that because we don't know, and she could she
- 5:33Speaker 4: could very well be seeing two people at the same time.
- 5:36Speaker 4: It's not unheard of, but I hear what you're saying,
- 5:40Speaker 4: and I totally understand. You know, the writing was on
- 5:43Speaker 4: the wall with this one for sure, And that's I
- 5:47Speaker 4: said this earlier on another episode, is that you know
- 5:50Speaker 4: the fact that this incident happened on the twenty third
- 5:53Speaker 4: of February and we did not hear about it until
- 5:56Speaker 4: Sunday night after she walked the carpet at the Oscars
- 5:59Speaker 4: and after her special airt on ABC is not coincidental.
- 6:04Speaker 4: This is a very calculated move and there's no way
- 6:09Speaker 4: that anybody was caught off guard by this information hitting
- 6:14Speaker 4: the mass media on Sunday night. It was very much
- 6:17Speaker 4: in the know. Obviously, the crew knows that they've been
- 6:21Speaker 4: down on secret lives and Mormon wives. They've been chatting
- 6:23Speaker 4: cast members know, so there's a lot of people that
- 6:26Speaker 4: knew that this was going on. It just hit the
- 6:29Speaker 4: mass media on Sunday night.
- 6:31Speaker 3: But why, I guess who. There's so many different angles here.
- 6:36Speaker 3: One if the producers and the people at the head
- 6:42Speaker 3: know that she's struggling mentally, that's kind of what's being
- 6:46Speaker 3: thrown around, right. She is struggling mentally, and they are
- 6:52Speaker 3: looking to capitalize on that at the sake of not
- 6:55Speaker 3: only her, but others, not only like a really terrible strategy.
- 7:04Speaker 3: It feels very detrimental. And here's why I can't get
- 7:08Speaker 3: rid of We got in trouble for this years ago.
- 7:12Speaker 3: The show doesn't have the best track record right now
- 7:15Speaker 3: of casting people or doing background checks on people who
- 7:19Speaker 3: are not do not have a history of making really
- 7:23Speaker 3: bad life decisions. Now again, there's forgiveness and there's grace,
- 7:26Speaker 3: and there's things of Hey, that was ten years ago.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I've changed, or I've learned from my mistakes. I have
- 7:32Speaker 3: space for that. But it doesn't mean you come on
- 7:34Speaker 3: a reality show looking to find your partner in the
- 7:37Speaker 3: front of all of us and put yours and make
- 7:40Speaker 3: yourself susceptible to the criticisms and the praise that come
- 7:44Speaker 3: with this show that mentally is taxing on itself. So
- 7:50Speaker 3: I don't know if they were all very aware. It
- 7:54Speaker 3: seems like from what we're going to dive into now,
- 7:56Speaker 3: obviously it happened in February, they were aware enough.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Exactly, they were aware enough to where I think they
- 8:03Speaker 4: could have gotten in front of it in a different
- 8:06Speaker 4: way than they're choosing to do now in the aftermath.
- 8:10Speaker 4: I'm with you, Ben, it is capitalizing on somebody's poor
- 8:15Speaker 4: mental health and poor decisions. And that's when as a
- 8:18Speaker 4: network and as a television show, you do have to
- 8:20Speaker 4: start making some moral decisions on should we be doing this?
- 8:25Speaker 4: Not that we can, because you can do it, but
- 8:27Speaker 4: should we be doing this kind of programming? And I've
- 8:31Speaker 4: been in that situation. I was telling Ashley where I
- 8:33Speaker 4: have worked on television shows that were very much conflict
- 8:37Speaker 4: driven with couples and people in very toxic relationships, and
- 8:42Speaker 4: I was made to pin people against each other and
- 8:45Speaker 4: it was very gross and it was not a good
- 8:48Speaker 4: feeling inside, which is why I don't do that kind
- 8:51Speaker 4: of content anymore. But yeah, you clearly have two people
- 8:55Speaker 4: that are not only not meant for each other, but
- 8:57Speaker 4: are very much struggling in their own way, and unfortunately,
- 9:02Speaker 4: there's a child caught in the middle. And that is
- 9:05Speaker 4: the stance that everybody should be really thinking about right now.
- 9:09Speaker 4: And yes, we've seen her checking in and going off
- 9:13Speaker 4: the grid for periods of time, but that's clearly not working.
- 9:17Speaker 4: So I think she needs something a little bit more intensive,
- 9:20Speaker 4: and I think he needs help as well.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Let's dive into the headlines.
- 9:26Speaker 3: This is where it was kind of the big moment
- 9:30Speaker 3: for us, as we found out that the former Bachelorettes
- 9:34Speaker 3: pull out of media dinner in New York City. Heather
- 9:37Speaker 3: tell us what we know. This was kind of the
- 9:39Speaker 3: way this not only has hit the news streams, but
- 9:43Speaker 3: it's also now affecting cast members from previous seasons who
- 9:47Speaker 3: had this planned event.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Yeah, so we can confirm. We heard from multiple sources
- 9:51Speaker 4: that there was to be a media dinner tonight for
- 9:55Speaker 4: the Bachelorette with former bachelorettes in attendance, and those bachelorettes
- 9:59Speaker 4: were Charity Lawson, Katie Thurston, Joan Vassos, and Tasha Adams.
- 10:06Speaker 4: And we hear that the women decided on their own
- 10:12Speaker 4: to unite and not attend this event together. What do
- 10:16Speaker 4: you think that means, Ben, when they decide to band
- 10:19Speaker 4: together and not go to something that was going to
- 10:22Speaker 4: be attended by the media.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Well, I think for me, there would be a lot
- 10:27Speaker 3: of different outcomes that that could be meaning. But I
- 10:31Speaker 3: think the best way to get a picture of what
- 10:34Speaker 3: was happening was I don't know if this was necessarily
- 10:38Speaker 3: like a hey, let's not go because we don't want
- 10:40Speaker 3: to support Taylor, right. A lot of these women we know,
- 10:44Speaker 3: and I think no matter what decisions anybody has made,
- 10:48Speaker 3: I don't think it's unfair for somebody. And these women
- 10:51Speaker 3: have not only the empathy, but the emotional intelligence and
- 10:55Speaker 3: the care to say, Hey, we're gonna still go and
- 10:56Speaker 3: we're just gonna sit with Taylor. We're gonna say cameras down,
- 10:59Speaker 3: this can't be film we don't want press, but we
- 11:01Speaker 3: need to talk to her because she needs huh like
- 11:04Speaker 3: she needs people pouring into her, but also being intentional
- 11:07Speaker 3: about hey Taylor, you need to go get help, or
- 11:10Speaker 3: Hey Taylor, like what's going on in your life? A
- 11:12Speaker 3: lot of those women would want to do that. I
- 11:14Speaker 3: know that, and so we'd be making assumptions. But I
- 11:18Speaker 3: think something that gives us a clue to where their
- 11:20Speaker 3: minds were at was the headline about Charity Lawson. Charity
- 11:22Speaker 3: Lawson comes out and says that the star's mental health
- 11:26Speaker 3: should be prioritized over rating. So in my mind, I
- 11:29Speaker 3: hear that, and I hear that they made this decision
- 11:32Speaker 3: because they don't want to continue to promote and push
- 11:36Speaker 3: and put more obligations on this on Taylor, and that
- 11:41Speaker 3: the show should be making some of these decisions and
- 11:43Speaker 3: not leaving it up to past contestants.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Well, that begs my next question of when we talk
- 11:48Speaker 4: about these moral decisions being made, why was this media
- 11:53Speaker 4: event even still taking place? Like that is honestly like
- 11:58Speaker 4: a red flag again to me. Why would Taylor be
- 12:02Speaker 4: dulled up and pushed out to some media event tonight
- 12:06Speaker 4: in the public eye that that does not sound like
- 12:09Speaker 4: a smart move. Your talent is needing help, why would
- 12:15Speaker 4: you push her out and do something like that. Again,
- 12:18Speaker 4: that's a bad moral decision that they're doing.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I don't quite understand what's like this is there's a
- 12:25Speaker 3: lot of you know, as I said, a lot of
- 12:27Speaker 3: research has been done, a lot of phone calls and
- 12:29Speaker 3: texts and figuring stuff out has been done by our team.
- 12:33Speaker 3: The thing that we haven't been able to touch on
- 12:35Speaker 3: is where are where's the show's leadership at and all
- 12:37Speaker 3: this and what are they thinking? Because it feels very
- 12:41Speaker 3: obvious to me right now, and this is oversimplifying it
- 12:45Speaker 3: and it's not taking it into consideration. So many of
- 12:47Speaker 3: the things that we've heard happened during this altercation. But
- 12:53Speaker 3: if anything in February you say pause, stop everything, like
- 12:58Speaker 3: nothing else is happening. We are we're bringing this to
- 13:02Speaker 3: a halt. We are waiting for this to get sorted out.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Depending on how it gets sorted out, the show airs
- 13:08Speaker 3: or a dozen air or whatever. But we're going to
- 13:11Speaker 3: get our lead some help, and we're also not going
- 13:15Speaker 3: to continue to push her for more obligations in the
- 13:17Speaker 3: midst of a season where she and I think we
- 13:20Speaker 3: said it during one of our headlines for Frankie Friday.
- 13:23Speaker 3: It feels like she's crying out for some help from somebody.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Multiple times you said it, and I think you know
- 13:32Speaker 4: not only is she dealing right with whatever this alleged
- 13:34Speaker 4: situation was that we don't have all the details on,
- 13:37Speaker 4: but now since Sunday, she has now been in the
- 13:39Speaker 4: flurry of this media storm where we are getting so
- 13:43Speaker 4: much information every hour on the hour that is not
- 13:46Speaker 4: good for anybody. So the fact that we're hearing that
- 13:51Speaker 4: just a couple of hours ago she was still going
- 13:53Speaker 4: to be expected to attend a media event really kind
- 13:56Speaker 4: of blows my mind that they do not have her
- 13:59Speaker 4: best intro at heart. And she also we heard there's
- 14:04Speaker 4: some sort of crisis PR team that's been hired to
- 14:06Speaker 4: be around her. It feels a little too late to
- 14:10Speaker 4: me in a lot of ways, but let's hope that
- 14:12Speaker 4: whoever those people are are starting to look out for
- 14:17Speaker 4: her in the way that her inner circle is not,
- 14:20Speaker 4: or her team is not, or the show is not.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Speaking of inner circle, the Mormon Wives star Jesse clarifies
- 14:38Speaker 3: cast feelings about Taylor Frankie Paul. So we are getting
- 14:43Speaker 3: a little bit of an insight from people who are
- 14:46Speaker 3: around her and work with her and how they're feeling
- 14:49Speaker 3: about everything.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Yeah, she is shutting down one theory that's been floating
- 14:54Speaker 4: around with some tension, basically, she says, and a clip
- 15:00Speaker 4: shared on IG by No Filter with Zach the podcast
- 15:04Speaker 4: host mentions a blind item claiming other Secret Lives and
- 15:07Speaker 4: Mormon Wives cast members have been upset with Taylor for
- 15:10Speaker 4: stealing the thunder of the show and especially now since
- 15:14Speaker 4: she became the bachelorette, But Jesse jumped into the comments
- 15:17Speaker 4: to set the record straight, writing it was never a
- 15:20Speaker 4: jealousy thing. Lol. Jesse kept things brief for now, but
- 15:25Speaker 4: you know, it seems like we said that there's some
- 15:28Speaker 4: really strong tension for an entire cast to unite and
- 15:32Speaker 4: refuse to film that is not good. That costs a
- 15:36Speaker 4: network and a production company a lot of money to
- 15:39Speaker 4: not be rolling and to have cameras down, especially when
- 15:43Speaker 4: your programming revolves around real in the moment stuff that
- 15:48Speaker 4: they are not capturing.
- 15:50Speaker 3: You have worked in the industry forever and obviously this
- 15:53Speaker 3: is the least of important things right now, but it
- 15:56Speaker 3: is I think something interesting.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Now.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Secret Lives and Mormon Wives is down, and we are
- 16:03Speaker 3: also sitting on the edge of our seats wondering if
- 16:07Speaker 3: the Bachelorette isn't going to air. This has to be
- 16:11Speaker 3: causing panic within the network.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Huge, huge panic, because they've put so much money and
- 16:18Speaker 4: resources behind this and just been like, you know, really
- 16:23Speaker 4: shouting from the rooftops that this is the person that
- 16:26Speaker 4: is going to revive the franchise. And I think, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 4: for me, not to quote Tyra Banks, but I was
- 16:32Speaker 4: rooting for you, Taylor. We were all rooting for you,
- 16:34Speaker 4: you know, and it is really upsetting. I think, you know,
- 16:40Speaker 4: as viewers of the show, I understand where Bachelorette fans
- 16:43Speaker 4: might be coming from seeing that her not quote unquote
- 16:46Speaker 4: taking it very seriously towards the end and hooking up
- 16:49Speaker 4: with her ex. I can look aside from that, just
- 16:53Speaker 4: because I don't know, I do a lot of these
- 16:55Speaker 4: dating shows, and I just know how people kind of
- 16:57Speaker 4: view the dating show. Right. You go in, think what's
- 17:00Speaker 4: the chance of me finding actual love? And then we
- 17:03Speaker 4: hear these people, you know, then it actually happened, you know.
- 17:07Speaker 4: So I can understand and see both sides of the coin.
- 17:09Speaker 4: But I think that what's most disappointing is that whatever
- 17:15Speaker 4: this situation was, it's escalated to violence, which is never okay.
- 17:22Speaker 4: And I think that Taylor was so vulnerable in this
- 17:25Speaker 4: latest season of the show expressing what happened, you know,
- 17:29Speaker 4: with her relationship with her father, who she didn't really know,
- 17:31Speaker 4: who we found out watching the show was abusive to
- 17:34Speaker 4: her mother. So it just feels like she's unfortunately been
- 17:39Speaker 4: in a cycle of chaos her entire life. And I
- 17:42Speaker 4: have empathy and feel for her, but at some point,
- 17:46Speaker 4: as an adult woman at thirty one, I do need
- 17:49Speaker 4: her to probably take control of her own life and
- 17:51Speaker 4: her own mental health, if not for herself, the sake
- 17:54Speaker 4: of her three kids.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Well, so I mean, yes, right, I mean I just.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I think there's so much here too, where there is,
- 18:04Speaker 3: you know, the incident that happened with Dakota, and I
- 18:09Speaker 3: think we sit in there and say, wait, this is
- 18:11Speaker 3: not good. This is not okay, like violence and the
- 18:15Speaker 3: things that have been said that happened that night, and
- 18:17Speaker 3: we don't have quite the confirmation on exactly what happened.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Did it happened?
- 18:21Speaker 3: Still not okay, not good, But also then you have
- 18:26Speaker 3: this other side of it where it's like, hey, you
- 18:29Speaker 3: can tell by the way she's communicating to the public
- 18:31Speaker 3: that she doesn't want this to be her behavior and
- 18:35Speaker 3: she doesn't necessarily know how to get her own hold
- 18:38Speaker 3: on it and grasp on it. And no wonder she's
- 18:41Speaker 3: been crying out on social media. This is my own
- 18:42Speaker 3: personal opinion. No wonder, she's been crying out on social
- 18:45Speaker 3: media that she feels lost and that she needs to
- 18:47Speaker 3: take breaks because she's not good right now, and that
- 18:51Speaker 3: the show puts her on the oscars and they bring
- 18:54Speaker 3: her to media dinners, and it feels like the weight
- 18:58Speaker 3: of the world has been put on her shoulders when
- 18:59Speaker 3: it comes to this franchise. Yeah, and she wasn't ready
- 19:03Speaker 3: for it. No, she wasn't ready for it.
- 19:05Speaker 4: It sounds like they also made all these decisions very quickly.
- 19:11Speaker 4: I know firstthand that you know, we were picked up
- 19:15Speaker 4: for another season of The Bachelor, and we were told
- 19:18Speaker 4: that the Bachelorette was going on hiatus. I know people
- 19:21Speaker 4: that went in for the job to cast this previous season,
- 19:26Speaker 4: and when they went in it was to cast the Bachelor.
- 19:29Speaker 4: This whole situation was changed midway through, like it went
- 19:34Speaker 4: into turbo mode. So they did not take their time
- 19:38Speaker 4: with her, and they probably did not put her through
- 19:41Speaker 4: the kind of media training. I'm sure she went through
- 19:44Speaker 4: some sort of psych evaluation. If she did not, that
- 19:48Speaker 4: is a really bad red flag on the network because
- 19:52Speaker 4: every cast member is supposed to go through a psych
- 19:54Speaker 4: evaluation and medical testing prior to being on the show.
- 19:58Speaker 4: And I was also saying that, you know, just in
- 20:01Speaker 4: my personal experience of working on the other side, I've
- 20:04Speaker 4: never been able to get somebody on a television show
- 20:07Speaker 4: that has domestic violence in their background check never doesn't
- 20:13Speaker 4: matter the show, the network, the context, nothing. So the
- 20:18Speaker 4: network one made a bent the rules for her specifically
- 20:24Speaker 4: in that, and I think at the end of the day,
- 20:27Speaker 4: they need to take some responsibility in the sense that
- 20:31Speaker 4: they didn't set her up for success. Yes, she makes
- 20:34Speaker 4: her own decisions and she does her own things, and
- 20:36Speaker 4: she's in control of her actions and whatnot, but I
- 20:39Speaker 4: don't think that they gave her the tools that she
- 20:42Speaker 4: needed she should have. You know, we don't know if
- 20:45Speaker 4: she's seeing a therapist or whatnot, but in something like this,
- 20:50Speaker 4: a television person, somebody on the crew should be assigned
- 20:54Speaker 4: to her at all times and checking in with her
- 20:56Speaker 4: and her wellness daily.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Yeah, and who knows the mindset of behind the scenes.
- 21:02Speaker 3: But it's like, hey, they wanted MESSI wanted this heat.
- 21:05Speaker 3: It's like they almost neglected the part that was what
- 21:10Speaker 3: viewers were really hoping for, which is, hey, we understand
- 21:13Speaker 3: her backstory, and not that we're okay with it or
- 21:16Speaker 3: that we can get around it, but what we want
- 21:19Speaker 3: is to see a human who desires love and who
- 21:22Speaker 3: feels like they're in a different place. And the show
- 21:24Speaker 3: felt like it just continued to capitalize on Messi.
- 21:28Speaker 2: And to make it even worse.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Rumor has it that this is from a source that
- 21:34Speaker 3: we have, is that Taylor Frankie Paul will be going
- 21:37Speaker 3: on GMA tomorrow morning to make a statement that doesn't
- 21:41Speaker 3: feel helpful to me. It doesn't and then like, what
- 21:44Speaker 3: is she going to say that brings clarity or brings
- 21:48Speaker 3: any type Like I don't know what I want more
- 21:51Speaker 3: than the fact that, like I don't necessarily want her
- 21:53Speaker 3: to have more of obligations right now.
- 21:56Speaker 4: If I had to make a prediction, I would say
- 21:59Speaker 4: she goes on, and she first of all needs to
- 22:02Speaker 4: apologize to Bachelor Nation. She needs to apologize and say,
- 22:07Speaker 4: you know, sorry to the men that were on her season,
- 22:09Speaker 4: which we'll get into because it sounds like they have
- 22:11Speaker 4: feelings about this. She needs to apologize to anybody that
- 22:16Speaker 4: is a fan of the show thinking that she didn't
- 22:18Speaker 4: take this role seriously or treat it with the kind
- 22:21Speaker 4: of care it needed. And then she needs to admit
- 22:24Speaker 4: that she has a problem when it comes to anger
- 22:28Speaker 4: and that she is going to be stepping away and
- 22:32Speaker 4: going to seek help for that, meaning going to some
- 22:35Speaker 4: sort of off site anger management course. That would be
- 22:38Speaker 4: my guess.
- 22:39Speaker 3: But what would be the outcome like And that's both
- 22:43Speaker 3: those things are good, yes, but where what's the action
- 22:47Speaker 3: that takes place other than her, you know, obviously taking
- 22:50Speaker 3: the steps it she needs to take and taking time away.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Is it the show doesn't air? Is that what we
- 22:57Speaker 3: think happens.
- 22:58Speaker 4: I could see either show getting put on pause and
- 23:01Speaker 4: getting pushed back, or I could see them airing it
- 23:05Speaker 4: knowing that. Let's say she goes away for thirty days,
- 23:09Speaker 4: she's out by the time the end of the show
- 23:12Speaker 4: is and she's able to give an update about reflection
- 23:15Speaker 4: and where she is in her healing process. I think
- 23:19Speaker 4: by her going away, it allows the secret lives of
- 23:21Speaker 4: Mormon wives to pick up cameras again because they know
- 23:24Speaker 4: that she's not going to be involved in filming. It
- 23:27Speaker 4: also means Dakota won't be involved in filming, and it
- 23:30Speaker 4: allows them to react and talk about her and what's
- 23:33Speaker 4: going on without her being present.
- 23:36Speaker 3: That's I mean, you've been pretty spot on through this
- 23:38Speaker 3: whole thing. That does make sense to me. Has the
- 23:42Speaker 3: network or anybody had a statement publicly yet about this?
- 23:46Speaker 4: Nope, Nope, nothing, nothing, And I think that's part why.
- 23:51Speaker 4: That's another reason why they're gonna if if this is accurate,
- 23:53Speaker 4: that she gets on GMA tomorrow, that's part of it,
- 23:56Speaker 4: you know, pushing her out there to acknowledge either that
- 23:59Speaker 4: she has had resources and that she you know, not
- 24:04Speaker 4: to draw back on the Paradise situation. Remember when production
- 24:08Speaker 4: got shut down, how they handled that was making all
- 24:11Speaker 4: the cast members come back on and say to camera
- 24:15Speaker 4: that they'd never been mistreated by production. I thought was
- 24:19Speaker 4: very awkward, but that's what That's how they handled it.
- 24:23Speaker 4: So it might be a little bit of that about
- 24:25Speaker 4: her saying, you know that she had the resources and
- 24:28Speaker 4: she chose not to use them. I don't know what
- 24:31Speaker 4: she could say, but it's also for her to take accountability.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Might give them the opportunity to air the show and
- 24:43Speaker 4: to hopefully save some of those ads and sources. So
- 24:47Speaker 4: I think we should get into one you know that
- 24:50Speaker 4: we know has already.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Dropped out, Cinnabon. Cinnabon has dropped out. That has been announced.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Obviously a large sponsor. So I'm guessing, you know, if
- 25:01Speaker 3: that continues the waterfall effect, right.
- 25:04Speaker 4: The kiss of death, that's the kiss of death. The
- 25:06Speaker 4: second the sponsors start to pull out, that's when shows
- 25:09Speaker 4: absolutely go away.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Yeah, they say, I mean, there's no you know, that's
- 25:13Speaker 3: how they make their money.
- 25:14Speaker 4: And exactly, Actually, Ben, we just got that. Cinnabon has
- 25:19Speaker 4: released a statement. It says Cinnabon has made the decision
- 25:23Speaker 4: to terminate its collaboration with The Bachelorette and The Secret
- 25:26Speaker 4: Lives of Mormon Wives, a spokesperson said on Tuesday in
- 25:30Speaker 4: a statement to Entertainment Weekly, recent developments and allegations surrounding
- 25:34Speaker 4: the lead cast member led us to reassess this collaboration
- 25:38Speaker 4: as it no longer aligns with our brand values.
- 25:53Speaker 3: We have you mentioned it, We have heard from some
- 25:57Speaker 3: of the men on the season, and the headline reads
- 25:59Speaker 3: Taylor Frankie Paul's Bachelorette men feel let down after alleged
- 26:03Speaker 3: dispute with ex Dakota.
- 26:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it says the men on the Bachelorette have all
- 26:09Speaker 4: been rallying around each other in solidarity and feel extremely
- 26:12Speaker 4: upset and let down by Taylor in the situation. They
- 26:15Speaker 4: said this to Us Weekly. You know, uh, I don't
- 26:21Speaker 4: know where that feeling let down is coming from, whether
- 26:24Speaker 4: that's coming from a personally they feel like, you know,
- 26:29Speaker 4: let down by her actions or let down at the
- 26:31Speaker 4: idea of their season not possibly airing.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I mean, I hesitate to comment on this because it
- 26:37Speaker 3: is Hey, like, guys, if it doesn't air like it
- 26:42Speaker 3: does suck. You have to some of you three months
- 26:45Speaker 3: that you gave up of your life for something that
- 26:48Speaker 3: you were hopeful for, and who knows, maybe one of
- 26:50Speaker 3: you is in a relationship and this is really hard
- 26:53Speaker 3: for you. I'm assuming that's not the person also commenting
- 26:55Speaker 3: to Us Weekly, But for the others who are saying
- 26:59Speaker 3: they feel like down, the context would be important for
- 27:02Speaker 3: us to understand what exactly they feel let down by.
- 27:05Speaker 3: But I do know it would be frustrating for multiple reasons.
- 27:10Speaker 3: But ultimately this still leans on you know, Taylor. Frankie
- 27:15Speaker 3: Paul in Dakota and what happened between them and why
- 27:20Speaker 3: it was you know, not talked about for a month,
- 27:23Speaker 3: and why now we're just starting to hear about it,
- 27:26Speaker 3: like what happened to make it come out, you know,
- 27:29Speaker 3: almost a month later? And then you know what's going
- 27:33Speaker 3: to happen with not only secretizing Mormon wise, but the
- 27:35Speaker 3: Bachelorette and I guess in an ideal world, as you
- 27:40Speaker 3: said it, we're talking about humans here. I think that's
- 27:43Speaker 3: the most important thing. And this television show is going
- 27:46Speaker 3: to have a hard time. I mean, are they already
- 27:47Speaker 3: lost Cinnabon, which I'm assuming was a big sponsor for
- 27:50Speaker 3: them coming into the season. It's very much on brand
- 27:53Speaker 3: for what it seemed like this season would lead to
- 27:56Speaker 3: and what Taylor, Frankie Paul's interests are. And if they're
- 27:59Speaker 3: dropping and others start, then you know, doesn't matter if
- 28:04Speaker 3: the show wants to aired or not. There's no money
- 28:05Speaker 3: to be made.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it does not matter at that point. If they
- 28:08Speaker 4: all start to drop out, and let's say we don't know,
- 28:12Speaker 4: we haven't seen the season. Let's say Cinnabon did an
- 28:14Speaker 4: integration in one of the episodes, a special date or
- 28:18Speaker 4: a special something that has to be edited out, that
- 28:21Speaker 4: has to go away then, you know, so you're talking
- 28:24Speaker 4: about then undertaking more work as well, which costs money
- 28:30Speaker 4: for the editors to go back and do that or reshoot,
- 28:34Speaker 4: or do we lose a date? You know what I mean?
- 28:37Speaker 4: I don't know, but that's kind of why when you
- 28:40Speaker 4: see a headline like that, it's a big deal because
- 28:44Speaker 4: it usually is a house of cards kind of affect.
- 28:46Speaker 4: When one leaves, they all start to pull out. But
- 28:50Speaker 4: that's why I think going on GMA, if that's what
- 28:53Speaker 4: she ends up doing, it's to kind of smooth that over.
- 28:57Speaker 4: If it's acknowledging I have a problem, I'm going to
- 29:01Speaker 4: get help. I am no longer going to be attached
- 29:03Speaker 4: to my device, and I am going to be away
- 29:05Speaker 4: so that I cannot do or say anything that could
- 29:08Speaker 4: remotely reflect negatively on the show. Then I think that's
- 29:12Speaker 4: a last kind of hail Mary.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Do you think in closing here, just going back in history,
- 29:18Speaker 3: do you think the show is looking for GMA to
- 29:21Speaker 3: be a saving step for her. I mean, if you
- 29:24Speaker 3: remember they had Chris Harrison go on GMA, and that
- 29:27Speaker 3: was the ultimate you know, like the questions pretty much
- 29:31Speaker 3: put him in a corner and it was over. Like
- 29:33Speaker 3: you watched that interview, You're like, Oh, he's not gonna
- 29:36Speaker 3: they don't want him around. It was not set up
- 29:40Speaker 3: to explain or elaborate or to give details or insights
- 29:44Speaker 3: into anything.
- 29:45Speaker 2: It was.
- 29:46Speaker 3: It was definitely a this is kind of our platform
- 29:50Speaker 3: to then have a reason for saying goodbye.
- 29:53Speaker 4: I think that's a good point to bring up. What
- 29:55Speaker 4: I'll say is that as much as Chris Harrison was
- 30:00Speaker 4: figure of this franchise, he was not a star of
- 30:05Speaker 4: two television shows under a network. And I think that
- 30:09Speaker 4: that's where the difference is. She is the reason why
- 30:13Speaker 4: there is Secret Lives and Mormon Wives. There is a
- 30:15Speaker 4: reason why she's in the middle. We did not know
- 30:17Speaker 4: who any of these women were, and most of them
- 30:19Speaker 4: were not involved in her swinging scandal, so it was
- 30:22Speaker 4: her that got the TV show. So I think that's
- 30:26Speaker 4: a huge difference.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:29Speaker 4: I just want to know, Ben, from your standpoint, do
- 30:32Speaker 4: you think we're going to see this season this Sunday. Yes,
- 30:37Speaker 4: I think so too. I am still leaning yes.
- 30:41Speaker 3: And I'll leave it up to the listeners and the
- 30:44Speaker 3: viewers and the fans of the Bachelor to share their
- 30:47Speaker 3: opinions on that, Yes, when it happens, but yes, if
- 30:51Speaker 3: I was a voting or a betting man, which I am,
- 30:55Speaker 3: I like the sports bet If I was a betting man,
- 30:58Speaker 3: I would say, yes, we're going to see this season.
- 31:00Speaker 4: I think so too, as long as more ad sponsors
- 31:03Speaker 4: don't pull out, I think we're going to be watching
- 31:05Speaker 4: it this Sunday as well.
- 31:07Speaker 2: That'd be my guess. We'll see.
- 31:09Speaker 3: I don't know if there's any been any charges like
- 31:13Speaker 3: filed or if.
- 31:15Speaker 4: No time was filed on either of them, and nobody
- 31:17Speaker 4: was arrested at this situation, so again, yeah, there's a
- 31:20Speaker 4: lot of we have to take that into account, right.
- 31:23Speaker 4: I said this to Ashley too, that she has a
- 31:26Speaker 4: prior on her record, so it would be I think,
- 31:31Speaker 4: very difficult to talk your way out of something with
- 31:35Speaker 4: a police officer when you have a prior on your
- 31:38Speaker 4: record that is violent. So I again, you were not
- 31:44Speaker 4: a cop. I'm not a cop, we're not lawyers, we
- 31:46Speaker 4: weren't there. But I do think that the fact that
- 31:50Speaker 4: there was no arrest, the fact that this was somehow
- 31:53Speaker 4: able to be kept under wraps for three something weeks
- 31:58Speaker 4: and we're getting different stories from each camp leads me
- 32:05Speaker 4: to think that we are still going to see the
- 32:07Speaker 4: show on Sunday. Now, I did say, I don't think
- 32:10Speaker 4: that the reunion for Secret Lives and Mormon Wive Season
- 32:13Speaker 4: four has been filmed, and we know that the Men
- 32:18Speaker 4: Tell All and Reunion or Bachelorette have not been filmed
- 32:23Speaker 4: this far out, so those are still big question marks
- 32:27Speaker 4: and also areas where another place to set the record
- 32:31Speaker 4: straight or take accountability whatever they end up doing.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Stay tuned.
- 32:38Speaker 3: This is obviously brand new news, and again thanks to
- 32:41Speaker 3: the Almost Samous team for pulling resources and interviews and
- 32:47Speaker 3: asking the right questions so that we could come here
- 32:49Speaker 3: today with a little more insight, hopefully for any of
- 32:52Speaker 3: you who are curious about the situation that is unfolding.
- 32:56Speaker 3: We'll be back the rest of this week covering any
- 33:01Speaker 3: new news, but then also breaking down all the headlines
- 33:04Speaker 3: in Bachelor Nation, and I can promise you this won't
- 33:06Speaker 3: be the only one Bachelor Nation is continuing to stay wild.
- 33:12Speaker 2: There's always something happening. Heather.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Thanks for joining us today, Heather. Until next time, I've
- 33:16Speaker 3: been Ben.
- 33:17Speaker 4: I've been Heather.
