- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:19Hi, friends.
- 0:20Thanks for watching and sharing the podcast.
- 0:22Another very important topic and guest on today we're talking about our response as
- 0:27Christians to what's going on in the world.
- 0:30Who do we support and endorse when it comes to elections?
- 0:33And what about Israel?
- 0:35How much of an important topic is Israel when it comes to Bible-believing Christians?
- 0:40We're going to talk about that with author, speaker, and advocate for Israel.
- 0:45Jim Fletcher, he's back with us and the book, I want to bring that up real quick, remind
- 0:49you guys that it's out there, miracle of Israel.
- 0:53You can get it on Amazon.
- 0:54The shocking untold story of God's love for his people, miracle of Israel, Gary Frazier
- 1:00and Jim Fletcher.
- 1:01Jim, welcome back to the podcast brother, good to see you.
- 1:04Good to be with you.
- 1:05All right.
- 1:06So, I want to send people again, biblicalvoter.com, we're pushing that these next couple
- 1:10of weeks because people need to vote and vote biblically.
- 1:15But I'm starting out with every guest this week, Jim, and asking because let me just
- 1:20back up and my opinion is if we can't get Christian pastors and church leaders to talk
- 1:29about the whole council of God, whether that be Israel or life in the womb or marriage
- 1:34or family and things like that, we're in trouble and a lot of pastors are not equipping
- 1:40the saints, they're not edifying or informing their congregations and so people, of course,
- 1:46if they're not students of the Bible, they have no idea how to vote biblically.
- 1:50So how can we get more true Christians informed and then to vote?
- 1:55What are your thoughts?
- 1:57Well, if I start talking about some of the pastors, I'll sound too cranky.
- 2:02So I don't care.
- 2:04Turn up the crank.
- 2:05Well, you know, for a long time now, a lot of the well-known pastors don't touch these
- 2:12subjects and there are a lot of reasons for that.
- 2:15They're either afraid of the government or they're complicit with a lot of what the
- 2:19government's doing.
- 2:20So my reply would be to bypass them and talk among the lady, have the lady talk to each
- 2:27other and encourage them to go out and encourage people to vote.
- 2:32Don't go through the pastors.
- 2:34There are, you know, there's still many good biblical pastors in the country, but they're
- 2:38not the most visible ones.
- 2:40So in terms of turning out the vote, it's too late to appeal to pastors, I would say.
- 2:46And so encourage the laity because it is critical.
- 2:51Yeah.
- 2:52And as you said, there's a lot of reasons they avoid talking about these things.
- 2:55I think once you start talking about controversial or quote political issues, you might lose
- 3:01a few tithers, a few members, donors, which is a horrific excuse.
- 3:07One of them obviously is just fear, just being afraid to talk about these things.
- 3:11But Jim, let's move on now.
- 3:14You were, I guess, recently listening to a secular podcast or one that you listen to
- 3:21every now and then.
- 3:22And I guess the host is a, you said it identifies as Christian and you said he's talking
- 3:28about an ID card and having just complete ignorance about, you know, what the Bible says
- 3:34about this.
- 3:35Go ahead and share.
- 3:36What's that about?
- 3:37Yeah.
- 3:38This guy is so sharp politically and so in tune with what's going on.
- 3:45He's really good.
- 3:46But this morning, I was literally making coffee and I'm listening in the background.
- 3:52Did you spill?
- 3:54Not yet.
- 3:55I wasn't at that point yet, but I would have.
- 4:00At one point, he was just simply talking about, you know, the problems with voting today.
- 4:11And, you know, we talk about needing voter ID, which I agree with.
- 4:17And so we're in this dilemma now of how to make sure that you're who you say you are.
- 4:22And so then though he, he went off the trail completely and he starts describing what
- 4:32he envisioned would be a solution.
- 4:37And by the way, the really interesting part of this was this is what he envisions if Trump
- 4:44has a second term.
- 4:46This is not something that he's describing that would happen with a left wing regime.
- 4:53And so he said, you know, it might have a chip in it.
- 4:58There might be chip technology.
- 5:02We would have these things and it would replace your social security card and that.
- 5:08And then he talked about the fact that if you didn't have one, you might not be able
- 5:15to essentially participate in society, including not have a job, not have access to health care,
- 5:23that sort of thing.
- 5:25I made sure that he wasn't qualifying his statement as clearly coming out against this.
- 5:33But no, in fact, he was, he thought this would be a good idea.
- 5:38And I was so startled by this.
- 5:41And I think this speaks to maybe the biggest problem we have today is lack of biblical discernment.
- 5:48This got a lot of secular political discernment, biblical discernment, not so much.
- 5:55He was exactly describing the anti-Christ system that we've all known is coming one day.
- 6:04And his lack of awareness of that just blew me away.
- 6:10It is.
- 6:11So obviously it's discernment and if you don't read the Bible, I mean, but it doesn't,
- 6:16if you're like you said, he's identifying Christian as Christian, don't most people
- 6:22least have been, even if their churches don't teach on revelation and idea of the mark
- 6:29of the beast and what that system is, have not been able to buy or sell and the anti-Christ
- 6:36system.
- 6:37Do you think most people have somewhat of an understanding of that?
- 6:41That's actually a great point.
- 6:42And yes, I mean, it's, you know, it's been the subject of movies and novels and things
- 6:48like that.
- 6:49So people have a cultural understanding of the mark of the beast, Armageddon, those sorts
- 6:54of things.
- 6:56As to why he, he didn't today, I have no idea.
- 7:01But I'm hoping it was an anomaly.
- 7:03And in fact, only yesterday I read kind of the reverse of this of a celebrity.
- 7:10In this case, it's the actor, Tim Allen, I will name him because it was, it was a good
- 7:14thing.
- 7:15Yeah, I can.
- 7:16Alan Allen said on Twitter or on X that he just finished reading the book of Ezekiel.
- 7:24And now he's going to another prophetic book.
- 7:26So praise the Lord.
- 7:28I mean, you know, maybe, maybe something is going to click there.
- 7:31You know what's interesting.
- 7:32I'm glad you brought that up because first of all, it's not just, he's not just reading
- 7:36the Psalms or, you know, something like, um, I have a friend in Southern California.
- 7:42He used to live out there.
- 7:43He used to be, you know, doing some acting and things like that.
- 7:46And my buddy is still out there.
- 7:48And he's an evangelist.
- 7:49He's, he's funny, funny guy and he's writing scripts and he's trying to market his scripts.
- 7:53But he's, he's totally always talking about the gospel.
- 7:57He give him 90 seconds with anyone in a conversation.
- 8:00He'll, he'll get away to ask someone about, he shared the gospel with Tim Allen.
- 8:05Sylvester Stallone, people like that.
- 8:08And I'm thinking, wow, because you never know these seeds get planted, seeds get watered
- 8:12and Tim Allen's reading Ezekiel.
- 8:15And so I say that now I have to back up and give some just a context here.
- 8:21I always have to caution against idolatry and say or not idolatry.
- 8:25But when we hear of a celebrity saying, Hey, I'm a Christian, I'm reading this.
- 8:30That doesn't mean let's put him up on a pedestal and he's the most, he's the strongest believer.
- 8:35Would you kind of speak to that briefly before we go on, Jim?
- 8:39Yeah.
- 8:40Uh, that, that is very true.
- 8:41Um, typically when there's a celebrity that, you know, they're born again or they're
- 8:47at least moving in the right direction five minutes later, they're presented as, you
- 8:52know, kind of the go to person.
- 8:54I remember back in the nineties to, to name call again, I was, I was really heartened
- 9:02one day to hear that, uh, uh, Jane Fonda had been led to the Lord by her driver.
- 9:07Oh my goodness.
- 9:08And I thought, wow, this is, you know, this is interesting.
- 9:11And so that kind of developed over sometime.
- 9:13Well, something happened, you know, or didn't happen as, as it were because she's not,
- 9:19as it turns out, a, a person that you want to, you know, um, and I know, and I don't,
- 9:26I don't really have an opinion at the moment.
- 9:29I know Russell brand is now kind of the new guy that people are looking toward.
- 9:35Apparently he found the Lord recently, but, but, you know, what, what is he going to,
- 9:41I mean, you just have to vet this stuff and in the best way to do it is, you know, pray
- 9:50for them and that they'll be discipled, but, but continue in your own Bible based study
- 9:58and not get too far afield with, uh, with celebrities.
- 10:03Yeah, give it time.
- 10:05You will know them by their fruit.
- 10:07And also what's, you know, football season and a lot of, they're always saying, uh, glory
- 10:11to God.
- 10:12Sometimes you don't know what God they're talking about or how deep their faith is.
- 10:18So we've got to be careful.
- 10:19Um, so Jim, let's talk about in the next five minutes.
- 10:22Let's talk about some headlines regarding Israel, regarding taking out some leaders of
- 10:27Hamas and some really bad guys.
- 10:29And let's talk about how the Biden administration wants to tell Israel what they can and can't
- 10:34do all these, uh, you know, demands for a ceasefire and all of this.
- 10:39And I'm glad, as you said before we got on the podcast, you're glad that Netanyahu doesn't
- 10:43always clear everything through the Biden administration.
- 10:46Go ahead and just share what's going on and what your observations and concerns are.
- 10:51Yeah.
- 10:52Well, you know, just as the Israelis did not trust LBJ in 67 with good reason, why, uh,
- 11:00the Israelis did not, not so much Reagan, but did not trust Reagan's, um, core advisors
- 11:08in my view, uh, during the 1981 attack on, uh, uh, Saddam Hussein's nuclear facilities.
- 11:16It's the same thing today and, and this regime would be the worst one yet, um, I wouldn't
- 11:22trust them with anything.
- 11:24And, uh, uh, I'm glad that, that Netanyahu seems not, not to be paying a lot of attention
- 11:31to Biden.
- 11:32He knows what we all do, no matter what Biden is in now a short term, um, he's irrelevant
- 11:39now.
- 11:40I don't believe the Israelis are listening to him at all, um, and, and the, the interesting
- 11:46thing is they keep winning huge, uh, you know, just, uh, two hours ago, I guess we have
- 11:53a confirmation that a sin war is dead and it's really, uh, unit, um, sort of stumbled
- 12:00onto him in, uh, Rafa in Southern Gaza and, uh, uh, he's dead.
- 12:06They've confirmed that now.
- 12:08And the point I want to make in this kind of goes back to political discernment as well,
- 12:14they found him in precisely the same place that Kamala Harris several months ago said
- 12:21Israel should not go because she had studied the maps.
- 12:25Oh, right.
- 12:26Right.
- 12:27Right.
- 12:28So, so she knows more than the IDF, oh my goodness, we all know that's a joke.
- 12:34Yeah.
- 12:35And so it shows you, um, and, and really kind of a larger life lesson, you know, don't
- 12:41always listen to people, um, and take it face value, what they're telling you about
- 12:45something like this because the American administration right now is completely out
- 12:50to lunch.
- 12:51And, uh, if, if Israel had listened to them, um, they would, they would have lost this
- 12:57war by now.
- 12:58Yeah.
- 12:59And, and along with that, um, and this is just a fact, if the Biden regime had not interfered
- 13:08to the degree that they did and hampered Israel at every turn and given Hamas, um, favor,
- 13:16this war would have been over six months ago and the hostages would have been returned.
- 13:20So, um, the, the political, uh, sense of, of the American administration right now is
- 13:27Neil and, uh, Kudos to Israel for doing what they do.
- 13:32And the other thing is, and I, I really believe people are seeing this, um, people are beginning
- 13:38to understand the biblical truth that God fights for, for Israel.
- 13:43Um, Yoav Galant, their, uh, Israel's defense minister, when announcing today, this afternoon,
- 13:50the death of Sinwar, um, quoted, uh, Leviticus 267 about, uh, you know, it will pursue our
- 13:58enemies until they're, they're gone.
- 14:00Um, that's not just rhetoric, um, and, and so this is an opportunity, Israel's success
- 14:07in the field right now, and also in Lebanon is really causing a lot of people to sit
- 14:14back and say, wait a second, something else is going on here.
- 14:17So, it's a great teaching moment for Christians that love Bible prophecy and love Israel.
- 14:22Amen.
- 14:23Amen.
- 14:24Brother, I agree with you.
- 14:25I could have been over a long time ago, but what's scary is it's, it's not Biden or
- 14:30Harris running the country.
- 14:31I believe there's some really bad evil people demonically inspired and driven, uh, people
- 14:36that are behind all this, whether it's part of the deep state or whatever, but who's
- 14:40running the country?
- 14:41When Biden's dropped out of the race to be for the re-elected, all right, someone has
- 14:46to be running.
- 14:47He's not right.
- 14:48It's clear for the last two years he hasn't been running.
- 14:51Anyway, let's, um, we've got to take a pause before we move on, Jim.
- 14:55When we come back, though, we're going to talk a little bit more about what's going
- 14:59on with Israel and also go back and revisit some unknown history in a boy, college campuses
- 15:05or universities could really use some of the true world history on Israel, uh, that you
- 15:11are a student of, Jim, and that you've been teaching on for years.
- 15:14So when we come back with Jim Fletcher, I will talk more about this.
- 15:17And also I want to give you the website again, Biblical voter dot com will be right back

- 16:24platform comparison.
- 16:27So you can see it in stark contrast in two columns, the Republican and the Democrat
- 16:32platform.
- 16:33So please check that out.
- 16:35Jim Fletcher, our guest today, Miracle of Israel.
- 16:40Let's talk a little bit about that, Jim.
- 16:42There's so much ignorance.
- 16:43Unfortunately, we're going to attribute that to a lot of things.
- 16:47Part of it is the really the indoctrination of the government run education system, removing
- 16:55the truth of the Biblical worldview among other things.
- 16:58But let's talk about now Israel's miraculous victories since 1948.
- 17:04We've only got 10 minutes left.
- 17:06So whatever you'd like to share and bullet point for us would be great.
- 17:11Yeah, well, you know, just the to go back to the beginning of 48th, the war of independence,
- 17:17they were, you know, Israel was established in 48, the Jewish leadership in Palestine
- 17:25at the time, took their opportunity and so the state of Israel was established.
- 17:31I would say that Harry Truman's recognition of the new state of Israel is one of the great
- 17:38events of the modern era.
- 17:41They were all of his advisors, all of them encouraged him not to do that.
- 17:47They were concerned.
- 17:48The State Department, which has always been pro-Arab, was terrified that we would offend the
- 17:53Arabs in the Middle East and the fact that Truman immediately, like a few minutes later,
- 18:02after Ben-Gurion spoke in Tel Aviv, Truman recognized the new state of Israel.
- 18:07So that was the first miracle.
- 18:10And then yes, 1967, the Six Day War, if people only knew a bit about that, I think I kind
- 18:19of have a theory that if people understood the miraculous nature of Israel's modern wars,
- 18:24it would lead them to God because you can't explain it any other way.
- 18:28So in 1967, what was going on is Egypt had a really particularly difficult, strong man
- 18:36and a nasser.
- 18:38And he thought he was going to be the latest guy to wipe Israel off the map.
- 18:43And so he talked about that a lot.
- 18:45And then he had the UN peacekeepers removed from Sinai, the border with Israel.
- 18:53And so then he masked his troops on the border.
- 18:57He also had a pact with the Syrians in the north and they were doing the same thing.
- 19:01So Israel had lethal enemies masked at their southern northern borders.
- 19:10And so they launched a preemptive strike in the most incredible part of the Six Day
- 19:15War to me of many, many things that happened in less than a week.
- 19:19It's why it's called the Six Day War.
- 19:21They literally redrew the map in six days.
- 19:27The first morning, Israel sent up a fighter jets and they, they went over, they started
- 19:36to veer out toward the Mediterranean like they were just doing exercises and the Egyptians
- 19:40saw them, you know, they've been doing it for weeks.
- 19:42They've been doing exercises and that sort of thing.
- 19:45And so the Egyptians didn't think much about it.
- 19:47Well, the Israelis turned back sharply to the east and within minutes, all of Egypt's
- 19:55air force was below them on the ground exposed.
- 19:59And Israel destroyed half of Egypt's air force in the first 30 minutes of the war, which
- 20:06really quickly led them to have aerial superiority in the Middle East.
- 20:11And the rest was really a mop-up operation.
- 20:13And in through that victory, they won back their, their ancient, you know, the, the middle
- 20:20of the country is the mountains of Israel, the biblical mountains of Israel, Gideos
- 20:24of America, what the Jordanians called the West Bank.
- 20:27Israel recaptured it for the first time in 2000 years.
- 20:31So that was a astonishing miracle.
- 20:33And then the, the last thing I would mention is the Yom Kippur War six years later, Israel
- 20:40for once was a little bit complacent.
- 20:43And everybody knew they were the superior military in the Middle East.
- 20:47So they, they probably didn't take some warnings seriously enough.
- 20:52And on Yom Kippur, October 1973, the Egyptians and the Syrians did it again.
- 20:59And this time they, they preempted, they caught Israel flat footed.
- 21:05And the first 48 hours of the war really looked like Israel was going to lose.
- 21:12They were really knocked back off their feet.
- 21:15Well, after two and a half, three weeks, Ariel Sharon, the, the reserve general by now,
- 21:23he went to the leadership and he says, Hey, I've got a plan in the South and the Sinai.
- 21:28I think we can, I think we can turn this around.
- 21:31Well, it didn't listen to him for a couple of days.
- 21:34And finally, you know, he went, he presented it to go to my ear and, and most of the day
- 21:39and finally, almost at the last minute, they, they gave him the green light.
- 21:45And his plan was he was going to indeed get their army engineers.
- 21:52They built a pontoon bridge across the Suez Canal.
- 21:56So remember, the Egyptians had come across the canal three weeks earlier to start the
- 22:01war.
- 22:02And we're well, well into the Sinai Peninsula.
- 22:07Sharon's engineers built that bridge in the middle of the night.
- 22:11They poured men in tanks and weaponry across it.
- 22:17And by mid-morning, the next morning, there had been a fog.
- 22:21And the fog lifted.
- 22:23And Egypt's third army looked up and saw that the Israelis had surrounded them.
- 22:28Wow.
- 22:29And Sharon's forces had encircled third army.
- 22:32He radioed back and he said, I'm an hour to Cairo.
- 22:36He said, I'm going to kill third army.
- 22:38Well, all of a sudden, the Russians and the Americans got into, to hammer out a ceasefire.
- 22:42But Sharon's miraculous plan saved Israel in that war.
- 22:46And so there are almost countless examples of individual battles and the wars themselves.
- 22:53The Israel wins in ways that don't make a lot of sense unless you, unless you finally
- 23:00accept that the creator really is watching over his people.
- 23:06And it's exactly what Old Testament tells us.
- 23:09It's playing out in real time.
- 23:11It's playing out right now.
- 23:14The advances that Israel has made against Hamas and Hezbollah defy logic.
- 23:20The last quick and I'll say is, for many years, all of us, myself included, had been concerned
- 23:27about Hezbollah's 150,000 rocket stockpile in Lebanon.
- 23:32Well, you know, we all heard.
- 23:35Israel virtually can't win this.
- 23:38They have to negotiate, et cetera, et cetera.
- 23:40Yeah.
- 23:41The other day that the Israeli military says that that stockpile has been degraded by two
- 23:47thirds.
- 23:48Wow.
- 23:49There are only a month into this operation in Lebanon.
- 23:52They've killed all of Hezbollah's leadership.
- 23:56Israel is doing things in the Middle East today that is reshaping the Middle East.
- 24:04From my perspective, as a believer and a supporter of Israel, it's all God.
- 24:12It makes me think of Psalm 2, you know, the Lord looks down from the heavens and laughs
- 24:16at man's plans, right, and those who would come against Israel.
- 24:19But let's just now wrap up, Jim, last couple of minutes with just that was a good reminder
- 24:24what you just shared, trusting in God's sovereignty.
- 24:28His ways are above our ways, his thoughts are above our thoughts, and he is in control.
- 24:33Yes, we have a lot of uncertainty, yes, we have chaos in the world and America going
- 24:39in the wrong direction morally and a big election coming up in a few weeks.
- 24:44But we can't put our hope and faith in that.
- 24:47It's got to remain in God.
- 24:48Your final thoughts to encourage believers before we go?
- 24:51Yeah, I think two things.
- 24:55I think that we are in a moment in history that is so momentous.
- 25:01I thank God literally every day at morning and at night that I live in this time, that
- 25:09I'm privileged to see these things happening.
- 25:12I'm not afraid of what's going on and I'm not afraid of what's coming because he's
- 25:17in complete control.
- 25:19And it's very, very clear.
- 25:22And so from that standpoint, I really believe Christians should have joy because what
- 25:30you see in the Bible is what you see playing out in the real world right now.
- 25:35And if God is that precise and that powerful, then we have nothing else to fear.
- 25:41And the second thing I'll say, just real quick, just to reiterate something I said before,
- 25:48we see the folly of humans in their prognostications and their alleged wisdom and things.
- 25:58Joe Biden, anyone in Washington will tell you on either side of the aisle, he's always
- 26:04been wrong about foreign policy for 50 years he's been wrong.
- 26:09And what I said earlier, Kamala Harris said six months ago, Israel should not go into
- 26:16Rafa because it's too dangerous, it's too complex.
- 26:20She's steady maps, I'm not voting for people like that.
- 26:29If our lives to some degree are in their hands politically and geopolitically and all
- 26:33that, I'm not voting for people like that.
- 26:35I'm voting for people that understand scripture and understand a bit of the moment that
- 26:41we're in.
- 26:42I think that that's really, really important.
- 26:45And there's so much that we have to refute when it comes to the lies out there, the anti-Semitism,
- 26:52just the propaganda that it's off the charts today at levels we have never seen before in
- 26:57history.
- 26:58But as you said, a good point to think about, we are here for such a time as this.
- 27:03Our mission hasn't changed as Christians, the Great Commission doesn't change to make
- 27:08disciples to share the gospel, to encourage one another, but also to speak light in the
- 27:15darkness, to restrain evil, to encourage our family, the family of God and believers
- 27:20to get out there and get off the bench into the game, so to speak.
- 27:24Jim, running out of time, but thank you, brother, friends, I want to again remind you
- 27:27that the book is called Miracle of Israel, you can get on Amazon.
- 27:31Jim, always good and always a great perspective check to have you want.
- 27:35Thanks.
- 27:36We'll do this again soon.
- 27:37Thanks David.
