- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in scripture and relevant for today.
- 0:10May. 3rd part of understanding. Have you ever felt
- 0:13misunderstood, overlooked, or judged by people who only saw
- 0:17one small part of your story? Maybe someone assumed something
- 0:20about you. Maybe you felt compared,
- 0:23criticized, or invisible. In a world where people are
- 0:27constantly measuring each other, it can be exhausting to wonder,
- 0:31am I enough? Proverbs chapter 15 verses 14 to
- 0:3515 says the heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge,
- 0:40but the mouths of fools feed on folly.
- 0:43All the days of the afflicted are evil, but the cheerful of
- 0:46heart has a continual feast. First Corinthians chapter 4
- 0:50verse 5 says it is the Lord who judges me.
- 0:54And 1st Corinthians chapter 4 verse 9 reminds us that Paul and
- 0:58the apostles were displayed before the world, misunderstood
- 1:01and watched, yet still faithful to God.
- 1:05That matters because your life may sometimes feel like it is on
- 1:08display to people. Watch what you post, how you
- 1:11dress, who you talk to, what you achieve, and where you fail.
- 1:16But people do not see the whole picture.
- 1:18God does. He sees your motives, your
- 1:21wounds, your effort, your growth, and your heart.
- 1:23A heart of understanding does not feed on foolishness.
- 1:27It does not live for gossip, comparison, or empty
- 1:30distractions. It seeks wisdom.
- 1:33It asks better questions. It chooses what nourishes the
- 1:36soul instead of what only entertains the moment.
- 1:39And then Proverb says something beautiful.
- 1:42The cheerful heart has a continual feast.
- 1:45That does not mean life is always easy.
- 1:48It means that when your heart is rooted in God, even difficult
- 1:51days do not get the final word. Joy becomes deeper than
- 1:55circumstances. Peace becomes stronger than
- 1:58opinions. God's approval becomes more
- 2:01important than applause. Let's pray.
- 2:04Heavenly Father, thank you for seeing me fully and loving me
- 2:07completely. Help me seek understanding
- 2:09instead of feeding on foolishness.
- 2:12Teach me to care more about Your judgment than people's opinions.
- 2:16Give me a cheerful heart that finds joy in You even when life
- 2:19feels unfair or misunderstood. Shape my thoughts, strengthen my
- 2:24character and help me live for your approval in Jesus name,
- 2:27Amen. What if the battles hitting your
- 2:30family are not random and your home can become a place where

- 3:38Proverbs chapter 15, verses 14 to 15 World English Bible The
- 3:43heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge,
- 3:46but the mouths of fools feed on folly.
- 3:49All the days of the afflicted are wretched, but one who has a
- 3:52cheerful heart enjoys A continual feast.
- 3:55First Corinthians chapter 4 World English Bible So let a man
- 4:00think of us as Christ's servants and stewards of God's mysteries.
- 4:04Here, moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found
- 4:08faithful. But with me it is a very small
- 4:11thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court.
- 4:15Yes, I don't even judge my own self, for I know nothing against
- 4:18myself, yet I am not justified by this.
- 4:22But he who judges me is the Lord.
- 4:25Therefore judge nothing before the time until the Lord comes,
- 4:29who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and
- 4:32reveal the counsels of the hearts.
- 4:34Then each man will get his praise from God.
- 4:38Now these things, brothers, I haven't a figure transferred to
- 4:41myself. And Apollo's for your sakes,
- 4:44that in US you might learn not to think beyond the things which
- 4:46are written, that none of you be puffed up against one another.
- 4:51For who makes you different? And what do you have that you
- 4:54didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why
- 4:57do you boast as if you had not received it?
- 4:59You are already filled, you have already become rich.
- 5:03You have come to reign without us.
- 5:05Yes, and I wish that you did reign, that we also might reign
- 5:09with you. For I think that God has
- 5:11displayed us, the apostles, last of all, like men sentenced to
- 5:15death. For we are made a spectacle to
- 5:17the world, both to angels and men.
- 5:21We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ.
- 5:24We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have
- 5:27dishonor even to this present hour.
- 5:30We hunger, thirst, are naked, are beaten, and have no certain
- 5:34dwelling place. We toil, working with our own
- 5:36hands. When people curse us, We bless
- 5:40being persecuted. We endure being defamed, we
- 5:43entreat, we are made as the filth of the world, the dirt
- 5:46wiped off by all, even until now.
- 5:49I don't write these things to shame you, but to admonish you
- 5:52as my beloved children. For though you have 10,000
- 5:55tutors in Christ, you don't have many fathers.
- 5:59For in Christ Jesus I became your father through the good
- 6:02news. I beg you therefore be imitators
- 6:05of me. Because of this, I have sent
- 6:07Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful child in
- 6:11the Lord, who will remind you of my ways which are in Christ,
- 6:14even as I teach everywhere in every assembly.
- 6:18Now some are puffed up as though I were not coming to you.
- 6:21But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is willing.
- 6:25And I will know not the word of those who are puffed up, but the
- 6:27power, for God's Kingdom is not in Word, but in power.
- 6:32What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod,
- 6:35or in love and a spirit of gentleness?
