Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations

rooted in scripture and relevant for today.

May. 3rd part of understanding. Have you ever felt
• 0:13
misunderstood, overlooked, or judged by people who only saw
• 0:17
one small part of your story? Maybe someone assumed something
• 0:20
about you. Maybe you felt compared,
• 0:23
criticized, or invisible. In a world where people are
• 0:27
constantly measuring each other, it can be exhausting to wonder,
• 0:31
am I enough? Proverbs chapter 15 verses 14 to
• 0:35
15 says the heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge,
• 0:40
but the mouths of fools feed on folly.
• 0:43
All the days of the afflicted are evil, but the cheerful of
• 0:46
heart has a continual feast. First Corinthians chapter 4
• 0:50
verse 5 says it is the Lord who judges me.
• 0:54
And 1st Corinthians chapter 4 verse 9 reminds us that Paul and
• 0:58
the apostles were displayed before the world, misunderstood
• 1:01
and watched, yet still faithful to God.
• 1:05
That matters because your life may sometimes feel like it is on
• 1:08
display to people. Watch what you post, how you
• 1:11
dress, who you talk to, what you achieve, and where you fail.
• 1:16
But people do not see the whole picture.
• 1:18
God does. He sees your motives, your
• 1:21
wounds, your effort, your growth, and your heart.
• 1:23
A heart of understanding does not feed on foolishness.
• 1:27
It does not live for gossip, comparison, or empty
• 1:30
  distractions. It seeks wisdom.
• 1:33
It asks better questions. It chooses what nourishes the
• 1:36
soul instead of what only entertains the moment.
• 1:39
And then Proverb says something beautiful.
• 1:42
The cheerful heart has a continual feast.
• 1:45
That does not mean life is always easy.
• 1:48
It means that when your heart is rooted in God, even difficult
• 1:51
days do not get the final word. Joy becomes deeper than
• 1:55
  circumstances. Peace becomes stronger than
• 1:58
  opinions. God's approval becomes more
• 2:01
  important than applause. Let's pray.
• 2:04
Heavenly Father, thank you for seeing me fully and loving me
• 2:07
  completely. Help me seek understanding
• 2:09
  instead of feeding on foolishness.
• 2:12
Teach me to care more about Your judgment than people's opinions.
• 2:16
Give me a cheerful heart that finds joy in You even when life
• 2:19
feels unfair or misunderstood. Shape my thoughts, strengthen my
• 2:24
character and help me live for your approval in Jesus name,
• 2:27
Amen. What if the battles hitting your
• 2:30
family are not random and your home can become a place where
• 2:33
darkness loses every right to stay?

Proverbs chapter 15, verses 14 to 15 World English Bible The
• 3:43
heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge,
• 3:46
but the mouths of fools feed on folly.
• 3:49
All the days of the afflicted are wretched, but one who has a
• 3:52
cheerful heart enjoys A continual feast.
• 3:55
First Corinthians chapter 4 World English Bible So let a man
• 4:00
think of us as Christ's servants and stewards of God's mysteries.
• 4:04
Here, moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found
• 4:08
faithful. But with me it is a very small
• 4:11
thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court.
• 4:15
Yes, I don't even judge my own self, for I know nothing against
• 4:18
myself, yet I am not justified by this.
• 4:22
But he who judges me is the Lord.
• 4:25
Therefore judge nothing before the time until the Lord comes,
• 4:29
who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and
• 4:32
reveal the counsels of the hearts.
• 4:34
Then each man will get his praise from God.
• 4:38
Now these things, brothers, I haven't a figure transferred to
• 4:41
myself. And Apollo's for your sakes,
• 4:44
that in US you might learn not to think beyond the things which
• 4:46
are written, that none of you be puffed up against one another.
• 4:51
For who makes you different? And what do you have that you
• 4:54
didn't receive? But if you did receive it, why
• 4:57
do you boast as if you had not received it?
• 4:59
You are already filled, you have already become rich.
• 5:03
You have come to reign without us.
• 5:05
Yes, and I wish that you did reign, that we also might reign
• 5:09
with you. For I think that God has
• 5:11
displayed us, the apostles, last of all, like men sentenced to
• 5:15
death. For we are made a spectacle to
• 5:17
the world, both to angels and men.
• 5:21
We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ.
• 5:24
We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have
• 5:27
dishonor even to this present hour.
• 5:30
We hunger, thirst, are naked, are beaten, and have no certain
• 5:34
dwelling place. We toil, working with our own
• 5:36
hands. When people curse us, We bless
• 5:40
being persecuted. We endure being defamed, we
• 5:43
entreat, we are made as the filth of the world, the dirt
• 5:46
wiped off by all, even until now.
• 5:49
I don't write these things to shame you, but to admonish you
• 5:52
as my beloved children. For though you have 10,000
• 5:55
tutors in Christ, you don't have many fathers.
• 5:59
For in Christ Jesus I became your father through the good
• 6:02
news. I beg you therefore be imitators
• 6:05
of me. Because of this, I have sent
• 6:07
Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful child in
• 6:11
the Lord, who will remind you of my ways which are in Christ,
• 6:14
even as I teach everywhere in every assembly.
• 6:18
Now some are puffed up as though I were not coming to you.
• 6:21
But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is willing.
• 6:25
And I will know not the word of those who are puffed up, but the
• 6:27
power, for God's Kingdom is not in Word, but in power.
• 6:32
What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod,
• 6:35
or in love and a spirit of gentleness?
