- 3:08Speaker 2: to it. Should we start out with some good news.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Let's start out with good news and birthdays and weather
- 3:13Speaker 4: and whatever you want.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I want to I want to start out with some
- 3:16Speaker 2: good news this, this story of this snow plow driver
- 3:22Speaker 2: in Canada. Who I just have I have to share this.
- 3:25Speaker 2: It is it's a nice story. He here, I'll put
- 3:29Speaker 2: it on the I'll share it right now so that
- 3:32Speaker 2: people can see this because I I gee, I love
- 3:35Speaker 2: stuff like that. Yeah, it's a feel good story. It's
- 3:37Speaker 2: a feel good story. And you don't hear much of these.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Oh you don't this. Look at this, this plow driver.
- 3:44Speaker 2: So these kids are out shoveling. There goes the plow
- 3:47Speaker 2: driver right there. Yep. These little kids are out shoveling. Okay,
- 3:52Speaker 2: little kids working their tails off. The plow driver who
- 3:56Speaker 2: just went by backs up. I just love stuff. I mean,
- 4:02Speaker 2: it's not that, you know, that big of a deal.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I mean, this guy took, you know, a couple of
- 4:07Speaker 2: seconds out of his day and look, yeah, you know,
- 4:12Speaker 2: and he just he just banged out that huge apron
- 4:16Speaker 2: there so that the kids wouldn't have to look. They're waving,
- 4:19Speaker 2: they're saying thank you. Yep, yep. Don't you wish more
- 4:22Speaker 2: people did stuff like this? I do. I do.
- 4:25Speaker 4: I wish people would stop and pretend it's Christmas again.
- 4:29Speaker 2: And yeah, and you know, just be nice. I do things.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I mean, coming on, I know, it's just little tiny
- 4:38Speaker 2: things like that. I just I love it. It means something.
- 4:40Speaker 2: It meant something to the kids.
- 4:42Speaker 4: That means something to the plow driver, right, and it's
- 4:45Speaker 4: you know, you got to plow the kids to push it.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Guess what to pay your plow forward and help out?
- 4:50Speaker 2: What it was? It one swing by and that's exactly
- 4:53Speaker 2: I know, just a small, a small thing.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I love it, and yet nobody does that anymore. Yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 4: it's disappointing.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Well, listen, there's a lot to get to this morning.
- 5:07Speaker 2: We will should we do a couple of birthdays? It
- 5:10Speaker 2: is Yeah, as we said Friday the thirteenth, Krispy Kreme,
- 5:13Speaker 2: by the way, is offering free donuts today. Do we
- 5:16Speaker 2: have a Krispy kreman Vermont? Nope? Hold on, double check, nope, Nope,
- 5:24Speaker 2: we don't. Nope, we're gonna talk about kid Rock. We're
- 5:28Speaker 2: gonna talk about Bad Bunny a little bit. I don't
- 5:30Speaker 2: want to talk all morning about that because I have
- 5:33Speaker 2: thoughts and feelings and opinions about it. But I want
- 5:37Speaker 2: to share with everyone. We're gonna do birthdays here in
- 5:41Speaker 2: a second, but the first and foremost right here on
- 5:44Speaker 2: your screen. Heartless, the tribute to Anne Wilson. Everyone knows
- 5:49Speaker 2: Jasmin White. They're doing a huge show at the Chandlers
- 5:53Speaker 2: Center for the Arts, and we're giving you a chance
- 5:55Speaker 2: to win tickets. The show is February twenty, That is
- 6:00Speaker 2: a Friday night, and the morning of the nineteenth is
- 6:04Speaker 2: when we're going to be picking the winner here. So
- 6:08Speaker 2: it's pretty simple. This is on the page, on the
- 6:12Speaker 2: aired out page. All you have to do is like it,
- 6:15Speaker 2: share it and comment that's it. Who picks it? Well,
- 6:20Speaker 2: I think what I'll do is I'll put all the
- 6:22Speaker 2: names in a spin wheel thing and then you'll put
- 6:25Speaker 2: my name in a separate one and pull mine out.
- 6:28Speaker 2: If you give me five bucks, I'll give you ten.
- 6:32Speaker 2: So except I don't think I'm going to be here,
- 6:33Speaker 2: then right, what's the day? No, No, you're not gonna
- 6:36Speaker 2: be here. No, you're not gonna be here. So anyway, Heartless,
- 6:42Speaker 2: we want to give you a chance to win tickets.
- 6:45Speaker 2: As you know, Jazz and just Her whole band, this
- 6:50Speaker 2: is one of the top heart tribute bands and they're
- 6:55Speaker 2: right here, local, right here in central Vermont, and they
- 7:00Speaker 2: are going to just rock out. And they don't just
- 7:02Speaker 2: do heart. They do, Zeppelin, they do. There's a lot
- 7:06Speaker 2: of stuff I've never I've never seen them, but and
- 7:09Speaker 2: nothing Safe is kind of an Alice. There are an
- 7:13Speaker 2: Alice in chains h type of uh what am I thinking?
- 7:18Speaker 5: Of?
- 7:18Speaker 2: A tribute group they're going to be opening up, which
- 7:21Speaker 2: I would love to hear that Alison Chain's really you
- 7:26Speaker 2: don't like the song Rooster doesn't mettle with you? Just
- 7:30Speaker 2: it's not for me. It should be for you in
- 7:35Speaker 2: my opinion. But yep, yep, yep. Birthdays this morning. Before
- 7:43Speaker 2: I even start, I have to apologize to a little
- 7:48Speaker 2: girl who turned six years old, Little Abby. There was
- 7:57Speaker 2: just so much going on here in the morning, and
- 8:00Speaker 2: I was busy and distracted with guests and a couple
- 8:08Speaker 2: of well and a couple of technical snaffoos that a
- 8:12Speaker 2: lot of people don't see what's going on behind the scenes,
- 8:17Speaker 2: and I just completely skipped right over. Yep, and this
- 8:24Speaker 2: little girl six years old, possibly pretty ticked off. Yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 2: at six, six years old is a crucial age. And
- 8:38Speaker 2: she likes JD but maybe a little bit less now.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I don't know, not so much. I don't know. But
- 8:44Speaker 2: little Abbey White six years old the other day, and
- 8:48Speaker 2: we love her. Yeah, on Tuesday. On Tuesday she turned
- 8:52Speaker 2: six years old. So I have a get a little
- 8:57Speaker 2: card for it's and it's It's on the dashboard of
- 9:00Speaker 2: my truck. Shirley Anne Potter is on the list today. Wow,
- 9:09Speaker 2: Shirley's birthday. Happy birthday, Shirley. We love Shirley, Yes we do.
- 9:17Speaker 2: She usually hops on around nine thirty or so if
- 9:19Speaker 2: you noticed, Yeah, you're usually late, but she's much later.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Patricia Johnson, I'll be Ovitt, great guy, Noah Fishman, Jared Felch,
- 9:32Speaker 2: my friend, Baby Green, Corina Brick, Holly Stockett, Cynthia Moran,
- 9:40Speaker 2: Melinda Knapp Grant, Cindy Ruelle, Chris Brooke, Ted Brunell, and
- 9:48Speaker 2: Matt Matheson all on the birthday list today. I am
- 9:53Speaker 2: happy birthday, Happy birthday. Yeah, all weather. Let's go there,
- 10:00Speaker 2: let's go there. We have I had at my house
- 10:04Speaker 2: this morning a whopping give ready everybody? Four yep? Four above?
- 10:14Speaker 2: Do I have to even do? Why do we have
- 10:16Speaker 2: to say above? It was just four degrees? Yeah, but
- 10:21Speaker 2: it was zero degrees in your car down here in Barrie. Yes,
- 10:24Speaker 2: this morning. You should we be living somewhere where we
- 10:28Speaker 2: have to say above? No, we should or should it
- 10:32Speaker 2: just be a given that it's above.
- 10:34Speaker 4: If the word minus isn't in there, it's a given
- 10:38Speaker 4: that it's above. Well, you could say plus four.
- 10:43Speaker 2: We have a sunny start to the day today, clouds
- 10:46Speaker 2: for the afternoon, and twenty nine. Yep, Why do we
- 10:51Speaker 2: have to say twenty Why can't we just say thirty?
- 10:53Speaker 2: Why can we get one more degree?
- 10:58Speaker 4: It's true, though, please you know, and you know they're
- 11:01Speaker 4: gonna be wrong. Listen, they said yesterday, was it yesterday
- 11:06Speaker 4: that snowed?
- 11:07Speaker 2: No, the day before there's some snow yesterday, Yeah, but
- 11:10Speaker 2: Wednesday was anyway.
- 11:12Speaker 4: They said it was going to end by eleven o'clock
- 11:14Speaker 4: in the morning, and it literally snowed all day. Yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 4: and then they said, oh, it'll be over at four thirty,
- 11:22Speaker 4: and so it ended about five five point fifteen. They
- 11:24Speaker 4: can never get it right, don't they say twenty nine?
- 11:27Speaker 4: I guess it could be between twenty five and thirty two.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I know, you know, It's like when I see the
- 11:33Speaker 2: twenty nine, I feel like I don't know where Mother
- 11:37Speaker 2: Nature is. I don't know if she's up there, down here,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I don't know, But I just feel like looking at
- 11:42Speaker 2: her and going really yeah, you couldn't squeak, squeak one
- 11:48Speaker 2: more degree? Yeah, are you serious? Twenty nine? Well, it
- 11:54Speaker 2: should make it twenty nine and.
- 11:55Speaker 4: A half, twenty eight and three quarters. I mean, come one,
- 12:00Speaker 4: I know.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Uh, tonight partly cloudy and nine degrees. In just a minute,
- 12:07Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you why that's not gonna matter.
- 12:09Speaker 2: H Saturday, it's supposed to warm up right over the
- 12:12Speaker 2: weekend a little bit. Yeah, yeah, Saturday, cloudy and thirty two. Okay,
- 12:20Speaker 2: wait a second, it's one in three quarters? Is that
- 12:25Speaker 2: above freezing? It didn't say above, It could be below. Yeah,
- 12:29Speaker 2: just as thirty two. I don't know if there's a
- 12:31Speaker 2: plus reminus on that.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Maybe they don't want to tell us this way it
- 12:35Speaker 4: gives them a big rain, right, we can be from
- 12:37Speaker 4: beyond freezing to freezing to snow.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Cold, unbelievable, stupid. And then on Sunday take out the
- 12:45Speaker 2: shorts and the flip flomps. Yeah, sunshine and thirty one degrees. Yeah, yeow.
- 12:53Speaker 2: We have a community calendar to get to this morning.
- 12:57Speaker 2: And here's why tonight forecast doesn't matter, because tonight is
- 13:05Speaker 2: the night to shine. Yep. And years ago when this started,
- 13:11Speaker 2: there was the very first one in berry there was
- 13:14Speaker 2: a huge snowstorm like monster and it was like seriously
- 13:19Speaker 2: like two and a half feet of snow, and the
- 13:22Speaker 2: Night to Shine was going on at the Berry Oux
- 13:24Speaker 2: Lodge and there was nothing on the planet that was open,
- 13:29Speaker 2: but we were partying inside there like it was nineteen
- 13:35Speaker 2: ninety nine. It was incredible, and tonight it's going to
- 13:40Speaker 2: be the same way. A big, big shout out to
- 13:45Speaker 2: the Faith Community Church for putting this on, a huge
- 13:49Speaker 2: shout out to Amy Anderson over at Amy's Armoir, and
- 13:53Speaker 2: a huge shout out to forgetting so much of the
- 13:56Speaker 2: clothes into the hands of the honored guests formal wear
- 14:01Speaker 2: that they can wear. But a huge shout out to
- 14:03Speaker 2: our community for paying it forward. They've received a ton
- 14:07Speaker 2: of donations over there for the Night to Shine guests,
- 14:10Speaker 2: so that folks that came in and said, hey, I
- 14:14Speaker 2: want some formal wear, but you know, I don't really
- 14:17Speaker 2: have that much money or whatever. Right here you go, Yep,
- 14:22Speaker 2: others paid for it. Our community is incredible like that.
- 14:27Speaker 2: But it's tonight Barry Elks Lodge one hundred honored guests
- 14:31Speaker 2: and this is the first time that it's been that
- 14:33Speaker 2: many it's always been like somewhere around eighty so one
- 14:37Speaker 2: hundred honored guests and almost two hundred volunteers. Wow, making
- 14:43Speaker 2: this thing fly tonight and it's gonna be amazing. Can't wait.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Andy and I are going to be dressed to the
- 14:50Speaker 2: night in the shoes that I'm wearing tonight. Are they shoes?
- 14:56Speaker 2: They're the shoes. Do you want to tell Do you
- 14:59Speaker 2: want to tell but the show you can tell them.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I'll jump in when I want to tell them now. Yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 2: Like a second, g G bought me some shoes that
- 15:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna be wearing tonight that I'm so excited. I've
- 15:13Speaker 2: never I've never worn them out. I mean, this is
- 15:17Speaker 2: the first time I'm going to be wearing them. Nice
- 15:19Speaker 2: they are, Dude. I gotta tell you, man, I love
- 15:23Speaker 2: you so much because that was that filled my heart
- 15:26Speaker 2: so much. Man, when you bought me those shoes. G
- 15:30Speaker 2: got me these black and white wingtip yep, leather shoes
- 15:37Speaker 2: and the blue and white ones too, and a pair
- 15:39Speaker 2: of blue and white identical but blue and white yep.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Well because you said you love those kind of shoes,
- 15:47Speaker 4: So all I did was say, really, what shoe size
- 15:49Speaker 4: are you?
- 15:49Speaker 5: Oh?
- 15:50Speaker 4: My God, and you told me, and I was like, oh,
- 15:52Speaker 4: I don't have any for you to borrow, and then
- 15:53Speaker 4: I bought them.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Oh my god, God, I'm so excited. I really am. Uh.
- 15:59Speaker 2: There's gonna be some people there. It's gonna be just
- 16:02Speaker 2: a night of love and happiness and just getting together
- 16:09Speaker 2: and just celebrating life. Man. We're gonna be on the
- 16:12Speaker 2: dance floor, we're gonna be eating food, We're gonna be
- 16:14Speaker 2: doing karaoke, We're gonna be doing the Paparazzi is gonna
- 16:18Speaker 2: be there. Yep. It's just gonna be freaking awesome. Nice.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I can't wait, cannot wait. I know you look forward
- 16:25Speaker 2: to that every year, oh so much. So that's that's probably,
- 16:28Speaker 2: you know. That's like the big thing that I wanted
- 16:30Speaker 2: to mention. Also, the Barry Figure Skating Club, they're doing
- 16:34Speaker 2: their annual show on Sunday at six pm at the
- 16:39Speaker 2: b O R. Ten Bucks at the door, get there
- 16:42Speaker 2: at five shows at six. It's gonna be huge. It's
- 16:47Speaker 2: so huge, Say how huge is it? It's so so glad
- 16:52Speaker 2: you asked. It's so huge that Stacy Holden comes all
- 16:57Speaker 2: the way up to Barry from North Carolina for this
- 17:01Speaker 2: figure skating show. Nice, that's huge. Yeah, what else? What
- 17:07Speaker 2: else is happening? Uh tomorrow night, Yvonne and the Reverbs
- 17:10Speaker 2: over at the American Legion. There's there's a lot of
- 17:13Speaker 2: great stuff that there is. There's a lot of things
- 17:14Speaker 2: going on. And as I said yesterday and I'll say
- 17:18Speaker 2: it again, be ready for some some discounts for the
- 17:24Speaker 2: battle in Burlington with donny Brook Fight Promotions on May second.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Keep careful watch on Donnybrook Fight Promotions dot Com to
- 17:34Speaker 2: get your tickets for that. It's going to be massive
- 17:38Speaker 2: early bird discounts coming soon. So what do we get
- 17:42Speaker 2: to this morning? What do you want to dive into?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Too many things? The pickle the pickleball fight. Sure, let's
- 17:51Speaker 2: go into pickleball. Did you hear about the pickleball fight? Now?
- 17:55Speaker 2: Tell me about the pickle ball fight? Uh Port, Orange, Florida.
- 18:01Speaker 2: A dispute over a rule and I've got the Associated
- 18:05Speaker 2: Press article right here in from him led to a
- 18:08Speaker 2: brawl during a pickleball game at the Central Florida Country Club.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Oh gosh, only in Florida? Man, would it be what
- 18:18Speaker 2: ninety year olds were playing? I think so well? Hold on,
- 18:23Speaker 2: sixty three year old man charged with two counts of
- 18:28Speaker 2: felony battery. Damn person, Damn that boy went bad. That's
- 18:34Speaker 2: a serious freaking pickleball. Did he get get the rocket right?
- 18:39Speaker 2: The right's pretty impressive though, Oh crap, I mean sixty
- 18:43Speaker 2: three isn't old, but still sixty three years old and
- 18:48Speaker 2: attacked someone who was. They're just saying over sixty five
- 18:53Speaker 2: old man along with his fifty one year old wife,
- 18:57Speaker 2: who also joined in the fight. Oh my gosh, he
- 19:00Speaker 2: was charged with felony battery as well. Damn wow. The
- 19:06Speaker 2: affidavit here is it's just amazing. They were playing another
- 19:11Speaker 2: married couple when they oh gosh, when they started arguing
- 19:17Speaker 2: about shots being made in what is known as the kitchen,
- 19:21Speaker 2: which is a marked area on either side of the net. Okay.
- 19:25Speaker 2: By rule, players can only take a shot in the
- 19:28Speaker 2: area once the ball has landed there, otherwise they must
- 19:31Speaker 2: avoid it. The players exchanged insults, and at the end
- 19:36Speaker 2: of the match, the man insulted his male opponent's wife. Okay,
- 19:44Speaker 2: see that's where shit goes wrong. Yeah that you know,
- 19:46Speaker 2: that's where it goes south. That's fast and it's god. Yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 2: the line, that's the line. You know. We're arguing or
- 19:53Speaker 2: whatever we argue, But now I throw in your wife
- 19:57Speaker 2: arguing about to her and calling her names.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm expecting him to get a little physical. I
- 20:03Speaker 4: don't know if it's worth a battery charge.
- 20:05Speaker 2: But apparently now we've got the attorneys that are all
- 20:11Speaker 2: fighting this out. This is going to be heading to
- 20:14Speaker 2: the courts. Twenty players got involved with the brawl. Oh
- 20:22Speaker 2: my gosh, twenty became a old thing. Highlight. How is
- 20:27Speaker 2: how is stuff like this? And I'll show you on
- 20:30Speaker 2: the screen here, how is stuff like this actually making
- 20:34Speaker 2: the news? I don't know. Pickleball argument sparks a brawl
- 20:38Speaker 2: at a Florida country club.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Yeah, because if they don't have news, they got to
- 20:45Speaker 4: fill it with stuff. And it's always negative stuff. If
- 20:48Speaker 4: you've got extra spaces on your paper or on digital,
- 20:53Speaker 4: and add some positive shit into it, not negative, negative, negative.
- 20:57Speaker 2: All the time. Yeah, positive stuff like this. The National
- 21:03Speaker 2: Grid warns that February bills will be the highest of
- 21:07Speaker 2: the entire winter. Yeah, stuff like this. Yeah that's not positive, Yeah,
- 21:13Speaker 2: that's negative. Yeah, February's utility bill will likely cost more
- 21:18Speaker 2: than any other month this winter, as cold temperatures drive
- 21:21Speaker 2: up energy usage and prices.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Yes, what guess what Every year, February drives the highest
- 21:28Speaker 4: price because it's the coldest here in Vermont February March.
- 21:32Speaker 2: What's you all with them? And natural gas prices shooting
- 21:37Speaker 2: up between forty four percent to fifty percent. The cost
- 21:43Speaker 2: of electricity is going up twenty eight percent.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no, it's it's getting impossible to live, you know.
- 21:51Speaker 4: And I think what's even better is everybody judging those
- 21:54Speaker 4: homeless people when a lot of people could be right
- 21:57Speaker 4: on the brink of it. Yeah, you know, between the
- 22:00Speaker 4: losing their jobs at federal jobs and things like that
- 22:04Speaker 4: now man, and trying to keep up with grocery prices
- 22:08Speaker 4: and gas prices and heating and utilities, it gets it
- 22:13Speaker 4: gets difficult, you know, So stop judging the homeless because
- 22:17Speaker 4: a lot of people are right there.
- 22:20Speaker 2: And it's sad. How much are you paying attention to
- 22:27Speaker 2: the Olympics.
- 22:29Speaker 4: I watched the figure skating, okay, because I just find
- 22:33Speaker 4: that fascinating. The things that they can do, and the
- 22:37Speaker 4: gold medalists so far with his backflips and his quadruples
- 22:42Speaker 4: and stuff are just amazing, amazing. So that's as much
- 22:46Speaker 4: as I watch it. Yeah, really, I couldn't sit through
- 22:50Speaker 4: the opening ceremony.
- 22:51Speaker 2: That was just to me, the opening ceremony. I know,
- 22:56Speaker 2: do I need to say in my opinion?
- 22:58Speaker 4: No, okay, just don't say it because a lot of
- 23:02Speaker 4: people enjoyed it. Ooh. JD's like, hmm, Mike, back to.
- 23:14Speaker 2: You the opening ceremony, don't say it was so fantastic.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I was absolutely glued to my TV such a lie
- 23:28Speaker 2: for about thirty seconds before I said, nope, get this
- 23:33Speaker 2: ship off of there. It was. It was. It was weird, weird,
- 23:37Speaker 2: It was weird. It was weird. Who's like, I'm trying
- 23:41Speaker 2: to be appropriate about it. It was.
- 23:43Speaker 4: It was not for my taste. However, look at where
- 23:47Speaker 4: it's being done. Such a beautiful place, right, you can
- 23:51Speaker 4: enjoy the scenery and stuff up.
- 23:53Speaker 2: At least who's coming up with this idea though, Like
- 23:56Speaker 2: were they on mushrooms? Probably when they came up. But
- 24:00Speaker 2: the idea of of the what what what what? What
- 24:03Speaker 2: was that? I don't know, I what what's that? I
- 24:06Speaker 2: don't know. I don't know. I still don't know what
- 24:09Speaker 2: it was? Yeah, it was. It was bizarre. US snowboarder
- 24:13Speaker 2: Chloe Kim falls short of a third straight gold in
- 24:16Speaker 2: the women's halfpipe competition. She got a silver instead, but uh,
- 24:22Speaker 2: not that she should be complaining. Now, my god, I
- 24:25Speaker 2: mean she kicks ass. Yep. Did you see the half
- 24:29Speaker 2: pipe competition? You said, watch any of that? No, No,
- 24:31Speaker 2: I don't watch that. I did.
- 24:33Speaker 4: I saw in the news this morning that I guess
- 24:37Speaker 4: it's between the US and another country that they feel
- 24:42Speaker 4: that the judging was not legitimate because this one judge
- 24:48Speaker 4: keeps judging that other I forgot what country it is
- 24:52Speaker 4: judging that other country and giving them high scores even
- 24:56Speaker 4: if it's not worthy of it. And so what's happening
- 25:01Speaker 4: kick off a war? I don't know what's happening is now.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Of course Americans are saying America had it, they jypped
- 25:08Speaker 4: us from it was ours and this and that. Well,
- 25:10Speaker 4: of course we're gonna say that because we're American, and
- 25:13Speaker 4: the other country is gonna say that because they're that country.
- 25:15Speaker 4: So it's like people, it's just the metal.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I get it.
- 25:20Speaker 4: It's symbolized it and it's a symbol of our strength
- 25:22Speaker 4: and our practice and our commitment, and I get all that,
- 25:27Speaker 4: But is it worth so much anger? I don't know.
- 25:33Speaker 4: I guess that depends on who you are. And how
- 25:35Speaker 4: competitive you are. Yeah, you know I'm competitive. But you
- 25:41Speaker 4: know in the metals.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Our cheap shit. Yeah, the breaking Yeah did you see
- 25:47Speaker 2: that in the news. No, the ribbons are coming off
- 25:52Speaker 2: off of the metals, or maybe it's bad ribbon. Why
- 25:57Speaker 2: do you need to go to the ribbon company? Why
- 26:00Speaker 2: should you be putting cheap materials into Olympic medals?
- 26:05Speaker 4: I don't know, to save money so that they can
- 26:08Speaker 4: take that money they saved and put it towards the
- 26:11Speaker 4: people that needed the most, unhoused people and starving people.
- 26:15Speaker 4: And you think that's why they saved, so they can
- 26:18Speaker 4: take all that savings and apply it to the US.
- 26:21Speaker 2: And you think that was deep.
- 26:24Speaker 4: It was deep because all I'm saying is money is
- 26:26Speaker 4: wasted all over the place and not in the right places.
- 26:32Speaker 4: You know, take a look at the taxes here in
- 26:34Speaker 4: Barry City and Barrytown that is so freaking high that.
- 26:38Speaker 2: You can't even live.
- 26:39Speaker 4: But you also can't drive down the street because the
- 26:42Speaker 4: potholes are so bad. And my question is why you're
- 26:45Speaker 4: raising taxes if you're not fixing the potholes.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I'll tell you right now, I'm warning you right now,
- 26:52Speaker 2: right now, if you take a left at the cornerstone
- 26:56Speaker 2: and go up Washington Street. Forget it. I'm warning you,
- 27:02Speaker 2: I know, and I'm warning you well, if you go down.
- 27:04Speaker 4: To South Main Street, okay, and you and you head
- 27:08Speaker 4: up by Spaulding High School.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Before before you make the left fright of the post office, right,
- 27:15Speaker 2: but before you start right by the post office and up.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Yes, but when you get to the Spaulding intersection, you
- 27:22Speaker 4: keep going on South Main Street. That road is a
- 27:25Speaker 4: fucking nightmare. And my simple question is when when do
- 27:31Speaker 4: we fix this shit? Because even the d the colpaks
- 27:35Speaker 4: they've put out there are pealing away, so we got
- 27:38Speaker 4: holes and holes and holes that you see drivers. I've
- 27:41Speaker 4: seen drivers in front of me. They're veering left, they're
- 27:44Speaker 4: veering right, they're staying all the way to the curb
- 27:46Speaker 4: so they can get that whole line of.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Potholes, almost hitting the other guy head on. Yes, I've
- 27:52Speaker 2: done that way.
- 27:53Speaker 4: I've had to go into the other lane just to
- 27:55Speaker 4: avoid And it's like, my god, these are not backstreet corners,
- 27:59Speaker 4: which let's not eat and talk about the backstreets, because
- 28:02Speaker 4: the backstreets over there by the park, yeah, Curry Park
- 28:07Speaker 4: or whatever it is, those backstreets there are a fucking nightmare.
- 28:11Speaker 4: But let's not even talk about those. Let's talk about
- 28:14Speaker 4: the main roads. Let's talk about three oh two into
- 28:18Speaker 4: Washington Street, Let's talk about South Main Street. These are major,
- 28:23Speaker 4: major arteries that get people from one location, whether it
- 28:27Speaker 4: be Orange and down.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Or up to up to Montpellier.
- 28:32Speaker 4: These are major arteries, okay, and they are letting them
- 28:36Speaker 4: go to shit. And their attitude is, well, you know,
- 28:40Speaker 4: we don't have the budget at the time. What are
- 28:42Speaker 4: you talking about. You've raised taxes almost every fucking year.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Yesterday I was talking about how TikTok is or no,
- 28:52Speaker 2: not TikTok Meta is going to some small town in
- 28:57Speaker 2: the middle of nowhere in Indiana starting a huge you know,
- 29:02Speaker 2: they're going to build a huge building there and have
- 29:05Speaker 2: some corporate offices and blah blah blah. Yeah, as a
- 29:08Speaker 2: thank you to this town, they're saying, we're gonna rip
- 29:12Speaker 2: up all your roads and put down all fresh new
- 29:15Speaker 2: asphalt everywhere throughout the whole town. Every good asphalt or concrete.
- 29:19Speaker 4: I don't know, because when you get into New York
- 29:22Speaker 4: and places down there, there was don't look like this.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Thereas a concrete and they're built deep to hold for all.
- 29:30Speaker 2: These kinds of weathers. Gee, have you seen the cobblestones
- 29:34Speaker 2: right over here by the post office. Yes, there's couplestones.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I understand that. But my question is very simple, and
- 29:40Speaker 2: it's not towards any specific government agent here and Barry.
- 29:45Speaker 2: It's so to everybody. When does our money pay for
- 29:49Speaker 2: things we need? Not for buildings that are an I saw, okay,
- 29:55Speaker 2: where money is taken out without even telling the community
- 29:59Speaker 2: until it's too okay. I'm talking about the taxes and
- 30:03Speaker 2: the money you get. Instead of putting it towards a
- 30:06Speaker 2: new license plate that's gonna cost you one hundred dollars
- 30:09Speaker 2: if you choose to go that way, let's put that
- 30:12Speaker 2: kind of money towards the infrastructure here on the roads. Okay.
- 30:18Speaker 4: And I'm telling you my car is taking a beating
- 30:21Speaker 4: and it's pissing me off because my car is not
- 30:23Speaker 4: even a year old. Okay, So City of Barry, Barry Town,
- 30:32Speaker 4: wake the fuck up and fix our roads. Do I
- 30:35Speaker 4: have to start a campaign where I get the entire
- 30:39Speaker 4: community to go into one of those town meetings and
- 30:41Speaker 4: clog that up so that everybody can say something about it.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Because if they give new business Hey, one right after
- 30:48Speaker 4: another new business. Tell them to fix our damn roads
- 30:54Speaker 4: going Uphill Street. Forget it until you get to Bury
- 30:57Speaker 4: Town border.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Isn't that funny? There's the border on Hill Street.
- 31:04Speaker 4: You can tell when you're in Barry Town because it's
- 31:07Speaker 4: all paved, and you can tell when you're in Barry
- 31:10Speaker 4: City because it's all holes. Come on, That's all I
- 31:15Speaker 4: got to say about that. Yeah, as far as Gump
- 31:17Speaker 4: would say. And that's all I got to say about lat.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Meanwhile, I see in the news today, right here in
- 31:25Speaker 2: front of me, from outlawmakers or debating in the legislature,
- 31:31Speaker 2: private land posting rules.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Private land posting rules. If I own the land and
- 31:40Speaker 4: I want to put private property, I can put it
- 31:42Speaker 4: on there.
- 31:42Speaker 2: No, it's my property, I know, But but is it
- 31:48Speaker 2: really it is my property before it's your property. It's
- 31:56Speaker 2: Mother Nature's.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Yeah, but then I paid a lot of money to
- 32:00Speaker 4: get Mother Nature's property in my name.
- 32:04Speaker 2: I know. But the land should be shared by everybody. Sure,
- 32:10Speaker 2: the chipmunks, the squirrels, the deer, what the fuck are
- 32:15Speaker 2: you talking? And anyone who wants to come on to
- 32:18Speaker 2: your land and hunt, Well, that's not true.
- 32:21Speaker 4: The reason they post that is because they don't want
- 32:24Speaker 4: shooting on their land.
- 32:26Speaker 2: They don't want if.
- 32:27Speaker 4: They decide to go for a walk with their spouse
- 32:30Speaker 4: on their land, they don't want to get shot on
- 32:34Speaker 4: their land.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Okay, I see a headline here in New Hampshire ranks
- 32:40Speaker 2: first among states in which to retire for your health. Huh,
- 32:48Speaker 2: just so you know.
- 32:49Speaker 4: But that's cold there too. It is so thank you, no,
- 32:52Speaker 4: thank you well. Scam calls lots of them there. I
- 32:59Speaker 4: literally early.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Just got one about five minutes ago. I should have
- 33:04Speaker 2: answered it. You shouldn't say. If it comes in again,
- 33:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna answer it and we're gonna have live and
- 33:11Speaker 2: we're gonna have so much fun with them. Oh yeah,
- 33:13Speaker 2: I promise you that. Okay, I'm watching my phone here,
- 33:17Speaker 2: but listen, come on. Scam call there's The Montpelier Police
- 33:23Speaker 2: Department has been posting up on their Facebook page about
- 33:27Speaker 2: some of the latest scams that that are not only
- 33:32Speaker 2: very popular but are really starting to impact people here
- 33:36Speaker 2: in Central Fromont, mainly the elderly. And there's some really
- 33:41Speaker 2: good scams that are yeah, really good, like impersonators and threats,
- 33:50Speaker 2: id theft. I mean, the list goes on the fishing scams.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Once your data is out there, it's not just phone calls,
- 34:03Speaker 2: and scammers don't pick these phone numbers at random. They
- 34:06Speaker 2: buy your data from brokers, which is important to to notate.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Be careful. And you know who's really bad with scam calls?
- 34:20Speaker 2: Really bad? You? This fellow right here? Why Maybe it's
- 34:28Speaker 2: my age. I don't know. Maybe it's just that I'm
- 34:30Speaker 2: a sucker. Maybe it's just that I want to believe
- 34:36Speaker 2: this false reality that every that, if that, if that.
- 34:43Speaker 2: I want everyone to just be good and and you know,
- 34:49Speaker 2: I've I've had good friends. Tell me JD. There's a
- 34:56Speaker 2: lot of ship backs out there that have nice smiles
- 34:59Speaker 2: on the faces. And you need to wake up and
- 35:03Speaker 2: pull your head out of your ass, right. I was.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I was in the movie theater and I had a
- 35:10Speaker 2: call come in and you know, I see it's my
- 35:14Speaker 2: bank or something. We got the bus? Did you do this?
- 35:20Speaker 2: And that? Oh my god, Well listen, in order to
- 35:24Speaker 2: reverse these charges, we need your your credit card right now?
- 35:29Speaker 2: No problem, yeah, no problem? Here now here it is.
- 35:33Speaker 2: And do you know I got I'm not kidding. I
- 35:36Speaker 2: got probably four numbers in and I was like, hang
- 35:43Speaker 2: on a second. I tapped my own brakes. But I
- 35:45Speaker 2: got that far. Yeah, I got that far. Well, they're
- 35:48Speaker 2: that good. They're that good.
- 35:50Speaker 4: What I usually do when they do things like that
- 35:53Speaker 4: is I tell them, Okay, I appreciate you calling me.
- 35:55Speaker 4: I'm gonna go ahead and call the main branch and
- 35:57Speaker 4: discuss it with them, period. Or I'll ask them what's
- 36:01Speaker 4: the website that you're at so I can pull it
- 36:03Speaker 4: up and order that online. Oh yeah, and they're like, well,
- 36:07Speaker 4: there's no website for that. Have a nice day. I yeah,
- 36:11Speaker 4: Like I said, I think I said this years months
- 36:14Speaker 4: ago whatever that they used to call my father's house
- 36:16Speaker 4: and they ask him if his refrigerator was running. Oh yeah,
- 36:20Speaker 4: yeah yeah, and then you go, you know, oh yeah
- 36:23Speaker 4: it is, well you better go catch it. When my
- 36:24Speaker 4: father's answer was only on Tuesdays and it wasn't a Tuesday,
- 36:29Speaker 4: So you know, it's that kind of a thing that
- 36:33Speaker 4: you have to be either ready to fuck with them back.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Right. And don't get me wrong, they have a
- 36:38Speaker 2: job to do if they're not scammers.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Sure, okay, they have a job, whether it be collections
- 36:43Speaker 4: or notifications of things. Absolutely, But as an intelligent person,
- 36:48Speaker 4: if you get a broker calling you yep.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 36:52Speaker 4: You get somebody calling to them from the bank or such. Oh, really,
- 36:55Speaker 4: what's your home address at the bank? And I give
- 37:00Speaker 4: you that answer, say great, and a phone number that
- 37:02Speaker 4: I can reach. And they give you that, say okay,
- 37:04Speaker 4: I'll call that and you hang up. Now call that
- 37:06Speaker 4: number you find that it's not real.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Yeah, right, okay.
- 37:09Speaker 4: But anytime they want your credit card when they call,
- 37:13Speaker 4: tell them that you'll contact the main office and give
- 37:15Speaker 4: it directly to them.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Yeah. Great advice. So just saying, what do I know?
- 37:20Speaker 2: I want to just I want to say this this morning, Sherilyn,
- 37:28Speaker 2: what she did this morning and what she did last
- 37:32Speaker 2: night for Lily was absolutely amazing. What a freaking outstanding mom.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah. Homemade cupcakes, pink with homemade frosting, pink, huge
- 37:54Speaker 2: tray of them, massive tray, thousands of cupcakes.
- 37:59Speaker 4: I don't think it was thousands, all right, hundreds. I
- 38:02Speaker 4: think when she says she had to make thirty six
- 38:04Speaker 4: or something like that, it.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Looked like hundreds right right for the class.
- 38:11Speaker 4: I wish she had told me sooner, because I have
- 38:14Speaker 4: because I always sell my cheesecakes, yeah, and sometimes I
- 38:18Speaker 4: sell them in cupcake for them, and I have these
- 38:20Speaker 4: really awesome cupcake containers that keep the cupcakes safe and
- 38:25Speaker 4: everything during transport.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Your cheesecakes are kind of a little bit of a
- 38:34Speaker 2: out of body experience for me. Yeah, I have those.
- 38:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I love making them, and you know, I have
- 38:40Speaker 4: to make one for Kristen because I haven't seen her
- 38:43Speaker 4: in a while. But other than that, yeah, I usually
- 38:46Speaker 4: make them only for holidays and stuff. Yeah, but I
- 38:49Speaker 4: still have people that call me and say, you know, hey,
- 38:51Speaker 4: can I get a cheesecake for so and so's birthday
- 38:54Speaker 4: or whatever?
- 38:54Speaker 2: And I'll make it. What Sherylyn can do in a
- 38:57Speaker 2: matter of a couple of hours remarkable, unbelievable that when
- 39:02Speaker 2: when we came over for dinner and she wasn't even
- 39:05Speaker 2: home from shopping. She's dealing with you and Jed, Yes, and.
- 39:10Speaker 4: The kids and Lily, Lily and her friend and you
- 39:15Speaker 4: and Andy.
- 39:15Speaker 2: She not that dealing with me is that much?
- 39:18Speaker 4: No, it's it's a lot, but no, we she came,
- 39:23Speaker 4: she came home after we got there with groceries and everything,
- 39:27Speaker 4: and within half an hour I had put together an
- 39:30Speaker 4: entire dinner for all of.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Us, I know, and had a discussion with you guys
- 39:35Speaker 2: at the same time.
- 39:36Speaker 4: Yes, and made me a bread. Yeah, because she makes
- 39:40Speaker 4: the most delicious bread all all within half an hour,
- 39:44Speaker 4: forty five minutes.
- 39:44Speaker 2: It was amazing. Do you know when when it's like
- 39:48Speaker 2: you would think the cupcakes would would be enough. Look
- 39:53Speaker 2: at what she did with with Lily's hair this morning, Yes,
- 39:56Speaker 2: I mean the hair and Lily looked very happy this morning.
- 40:01Speaker 2: She did she did.
- 40:02Speaker 4: Everybody's like, well, you guys live what next door that
- 40:05Speaker 4: you can see this? No, we communicate via phone.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Thank you, But her she did her hair and had
- 40:12Speaker 2: the glitter spray in the hair. It's just a yeah.
- 40:18Speaker 2: She's a remarkable mom.
- 40:19Speaker 4: Yeah, she always has been. I mean she is very
- 40:23Speaker 4: protective of her daughter as you are, okay, but she
- 40:27Speaker 4: always wants when your child asks you questions that are
- 40:31Speaker 4: uncomfortable questions, you two have the best way of letting
- 40:38Speaker 4: her see the whole picture instead of a picture.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:42Speaker 4: You know when when little children walk down the street
- 40:46Speaker 4: and they see my nails and they're like, mommy, why
- 40:48Speaker 4: is he have nails?
- 40:49Speaker 2: And she goes and I walk over. I'm like, you
- 40:51Speaker 2: don't have to shush them. Yeah, I said, it's okay
- 40:54Speaker 2: for them to ask, and I'll say to them, look
- 40:57Speaker 2: why a man would have.
- 40:58Speaker 4: And they were like, why you do it? Says because
- 41:00Speaker 4: I like it. And one girl said to me once,
- 41:03Speaker 4: I like it too. Mommy, me too, And Mommy's like
- 41:07Speaker 4: a little bit later when you get a little older,
- 41:09Speaker 4: So it's okay to ask. And when your child asks.
- 41:14Speaker 4: You guys are so good at finding the reality of
- 41:17Speaker 4: the answer, whether it's why those two men kissing or
- 41:19Speaker 4: why the and you guys tell them, well, love is love.
- 41:23Speaker 4: Love doesn't have a gender, you know, and you explain
- 41:26Speaker 4: to them. Now, when Jed and I come over Lily,
- 41:29Speaker 4: she treats us like we're.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Her best friends.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Yeah, she hugs us and she even asked Chryln if
- 41:35Speaker 4: she could use her kid phone messenger yeah to message
- 41:40Speaker 4: me sometimes because she likes to message her.
- 41:42Speaker 2: I mean that's like getting into the mob right there.
- 41:45Speaker 2: I mean that's serious. Yeah, bro.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Yeah, So it's it's just impressive that you know, you
- 41:51Speaker 4: guys not only protect her and will do anything for her,
- 41:54Speaker 4: but that you teach her the rights of things, not
- 41:59Speaker 4: the right and wrong.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Do you teach her the rights.
- 42:02Speaker 4: The lungs are gonna happen, and you deal with those
- 42:04Speaker 4: as they come, But you teach her the rights, the
- 42:07Speaker 4: right thing to do, the right way to think. Yeah,
- 42:10Speaker 4: the open mindedness of it.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Interesting, that's what I see. Anyway, Listen, I'm gonna have
- 42:17Speaker 2: her this afternoon to evening, I know, while we're at
- 42:20Speaker 2: the Night to Shine. Yeah.
- 42:22Speaker 4: And I said to Cherylyn, sure, you know, I don't
- 42:24Speaker 4: feel the greatest, and Jud's work until five. Sure, dump
- 42:26Speaker 4: your kid off and just leave, see if I care.
- 42:29Speaker 4: And She's like, good, thank you. And I was like,
- 42:32Speaker 4: did she not get this orcas? No, I'm kidding. I
- 42:35Speaker 4: absolutely am excited about Lily. And I gonna bake a
- 42:38Speaker 4: cake today.
- 42:39Speaker 2: A cake or brownies.
- 42:40Speaker 4: No, well, unless you want to do the brownies. I
- 42:43Speaker 4: also offer to do the red velvet cake.
- 42:44Speaker 2: All right, whatever you do if I'm and I'm gonna
- 42:48Speaker 2: feed her a lot of sugar just before you pick
- 42:50Speaker 2: her up. Okay, that should be wired. That's great, that's great. Yeah, no,
- 42:57Speaker 2: I look forward to it. We were just we were
- 43:01Speaker 2: just chatting about the roads and how bad they are.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Are you aware of this whole thing with state inspections? Yes,
- 43:12Speaker 2: my good buddy Newt just called me. Newt, you're live.
- 43:16Speaker 5: Hey, how are you guys doing this morning? What?
- 43:18Speaker 2: What is this whole thing with Vermont's inspection hoopla ah?
- 43:28Speaker 3: Well, I mean there are you know, there are people
- 43:30Speaker 3: who are who are getting tired of the stringency of
- 43:36Speaker 3: the inspection process, the cost involved in it, the fact
- 43:40Speaker 3: that only one percent of cars fail anyway, which kind
- 43:46Speaker 3: of begs the question is this really necessary, you know
- 43:51Speaker 3: when ninety nine percent are passing?
- 43:54Speaker 5: But uh, you know it costs taxpayers in time.
- 43:59Speaker 3: And money every year getting their cars in and getting
- 44:02Speaker 3: them inspected. I mean, not only does it cost money,
- 44:05Speaker 3: it's it's.
- 44:05Speaker 5: It's a real hassle.
- 44:08Speaker 3: But you know, the the other major problem with it
- 44:11Speaker 3: is that when when inspection went into went into place,
- 44:15Speaker 3: it was a safety it was a safety inspection. And
- 44:19Speaker 3: at the time, you know, safety was basically breaks.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Tires, exhaust, you know, so that you know, you didn't die.
- 44:25Speaker 3: From asphyxiation from your leaky exhaust, right, and your brakes
- 44:30Speaker 3: worked and your tires were safe.
- 44:32Speaker 2: And the whole front floor of your car wasn't rotted
- 44:35Speaker 2: out like freaking flintstones.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Right, yeah, and you know it wasn't so rusty that
- 44:41Speaker 3: it was gonna you know that the the brake or
- 44:44Speaker 3: wheel mechanism wasn't gonna fall off going down the road.
- 44:47Speaker 2: When when you hit some potholes clearly all over Vermont exactly.
- 44:55Speaker 5: I mean, you know Vermont roads are rough and they
- 44:57Speaker 5: always have then. But but you know, and so we've.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Gone from safety inspection, which you know was arguably you know, helpful, beneficial, whatever,
- 45:08Speaker 3: but now we're you know, it's all about sensors and
- 45:12Speaker 3: kinalytic converters and like there's all these things that that
- 45:16Speaker 3: you know, trigger dash lights and if any of those
- 45:18Speaker 3: lights come on on the dash that the state can
- 45:23Speaker 3: consider as safety related, which is basically all of them
- 45:27Speaker 3: at this point because they're all tied back to some
- 45:31Speaker 3: technically safety system. You know, they they won't pass the
- 45:35Speaker 3: vehicle for inspection. And you know, like silly little tire
- 45:39Speaker 3: pressure sensors that range in price from twenty to one
- 45:42Speaker 3: hundred bucks at peace, depending on the vehicle and where
- 45:46Speaker 3: you buy them, and you know, you get it in
- 45:50Speaker 3: there and like, you know, I can tell when my
- 45:52Speaker 3: tires are flat, my car drives funny, and I take
- 45:56Speaker 3: it to the to the the air pump and pump
- 45:58Speaker 3: the tire up, you know, if they're losing air. You know,
- 46:01Speaker 3: But these are things that people are supposed to just
- 46:03Speaker 3: check on their vehicle on a regular basis anyway. And
- 46:08Speaker 3: so so anyway, all these things will will will trigger
- 46:13Speaker 3: a failure of the safety inspection in Vermont. And so
- 46:17Speaker 3: it's gotten to a point where you can take a
- 46:19Speaker 3: car in that is completely safe on the road, but
- 46:23Speaker 3: because of the sensors triggering dash.
- 46:25Speaker 5: Lights, it will be failed.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Wow.
- 46:30Speaker 5: And yeah, and you.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Know, I had a truck where every year I would
- 46:35Speaker 3: have to bring it in and the thing drove fine,
- 46:38Speaker 3: and everything was safe on it, but it kept on
- 46:40Speaker 3: having these these error codes from these I think there
- 46:45Speaker 3: were oxygen sensors of some sort, and there were.
- 46:48Speaker 5: Three of them, and they would fail every year.
- 46:50Speaker 3: And it was about three hundred bucks apiece, so you're
- 46:53Speaker 3: talking one thousand dollars.
- 46:54Speaker 5: In censors plus installation.
- 46:56Speaker 3: And every year the same sensors on that truck would
- 47:00Speaker 3: do the same thing.
- 47:01Speaker 5: And it was just ridiculous.
- 47:03Speaker 3: And I finally was like, this is just stupid, and
- 47:05Speaker 3: I stopped inspecting it and and you know, just drove
- 47:11Speaker 3: it anyway.
- 47:12Speaker 2: The risk, yeah, the risk of getting pulled over and
- 47:17Speaker 2: getting a ticket for an uninspected vehicle that that gamble,
- 47:23Speaker 2: that risk is.
- 47:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a risk what Gamble got to take.
- 47:27Speaker 2: But it's quite possibly cheaper than staying within compliance.
- 47:33Speaker 3: It is, I have a checked what what a sticker
- 47:37Speaker 3: you know, A lack of inspection sticker ticket is these days?
- 47:41Speaker 5: But I think it's around one hundred and twenty bucks.
- 47:44Speaker 2: But it's one hundred bucks to get to get into
- 47:46Speaker 2: an inspection minimum.
- 47:48Speaker 3: I mean, I think I think most of the shops
- 47:51Speaker 3: are going to charge eighty dollars by the time you're done,
- 47:53Speaker 3: just to get the thing in and on the lift,
- 47:57Speaker 3: you know, minimum. And it's it's expensive, it's time consuming,
- 48:02Speaker 3: and it's just not worth it anymore to a lot
- 48:05Speaker 3: of us. I you know, I I I recently brought
- 48:10Speaker 3: it last summer, brought in my four Tacoma that has
- 48:14Speaker 3: two hundred and seventy nine thousand or so miles on it,
- 48:18Speaker 3: and and it, uh you know, we put in brakes,
- 48:23Speaker 3: tires and exhaust, thirty five hundred bucks fixed all of it,
- 48:26Speaker 3: got it all ready to go, and and uh I
- 48:29Speaker 3: went to pick it up and and they said, oh, yeah,
- 48:32Speaker 3: you know what, we couldn't actually put the sticker on.
- 48:34Speaker 3: We couldn't actually inspect it given an approval because the
- 48:39Speaker 3: little blue dash light that that activates when you when
- 48:44Speaker 3: you turn the high beams on to indicate to the
- 48:47Speaker 3: driver that the high beams are on, would not light
- 48:51Speaker 3: up even though the high beams worked fine. Everything was like,
- 48:54Speaker 3: you know, the lights were functioning perfectly outside from that
- 48:57Speaker 3: little indicator light. Yeah, And they said you need to
- 49:00Speaker 3: take this to the dealer in Burlington. Uh so they
- 49:02Speaker 3: can take the dash apart and and fix it because
- 49:05Speaker 3: we're we're not going to get into that much depth
- 49:08Speaker 3: here at this shop.
- 49:10Speaker 5: And I'm like, okay, well, that's understandable. I know that
- 49:12Speaker 5: you're just you know, doing your job that you know, as.
- 49:15Speaker 3: A shop, they can lose their inspection license if if
- 49:19Speaker 3: they pass a vehicle.
- 49:20Speaker 5: That's on sale or that that that shouldn't have passed.
- 49:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that a cop could figure out that, like oh jeez,
- 49:26Speaker 3: they shouldn't have passed it, you know.
- 49:29Speaker 5: So so they're doing their job. But I do the line.
- 49:33Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, fine, just give me my truck back.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Here's your thirty five hundred bucks. I'm glad it's safe.
- 49:38Speaker 3: We're not gonna put a sticker on it.
- 49:40Speaker 5: That's that I'm not going to do that.
- 49:42Speaker 3: I'm just there's a limit to the amount of stupid,
- 49:45Speaker 3: useless bullshit we're gonna fix on these cars, you know,
- 49:51Speaker 3: just because the law which is a broad brush paint
- 49:54Speaker 3: job of a of a bill, you know, of a
- 49:57Speaker 3: law that you know that out you know, because any
- 50:02Speaker 3: anything isn't functioning like that.
- 50:04Speaker 5: I mean, that's just it's it's a bit much.
- 50:08Speaker 4: So then I'm just curious. So what's the outcome of
- 50:12Speaker 4: this uh inspection thing that's going on now? Are they
- 50:16Speaker 4: going to get rid of inspection or what?
- 50:20Speaker 3: Well, you know, there's a couple of different things. I'm
- 50:23Speaker 3: not fully versed on what the.
- 50:25Speaker 5: Latest thing is that's going on.
- 50:26Speaker 3: I saw something on w c a X yesterday about
- 50:30Speaker 3: one bill is pushing the idea of changing it from
- 50:34Speaker 3: one year to two years. But a buddy of mine
- 50:38Speaker 3: who's a representative from Wolcott Democrat from I think he
- 50:42Speaker 3: represents Wilcott and Hyde Park, he's also trying to get
- 50:48Speaker 3: one through that.
- 50:49Speaker 5: That would eliminate it altogether. Because you know, it's it.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Is time that you know, people acknowledge that this is
- 50:58Speaker 3: really just a tax on working for monters.
- 51:00Speaker 5: This is an insanely regressive tax.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Yeah, where's the money go? Where's the tax money?
- 51:05Speaker 3: Go, well, you know, it's it's eight dollars per year.
- 51:09Speaker 3: It's not a huge deal. But what happens is it's
- 51:12Speaker 3: not just the eight bucks. The eight bucks is what
- 51:14Speaker 3: the state gets out of it. But then there's six
- 51:18Speaker 3: bucks for the for the software that the state has
- 51:24Speaker 3: a contract with some Canadian software company that where they
- 51:27Speaker 3: get a cut out of every single sticker that gets
- 51:32Speaker 3: issued in this state. And and and then beyond that,
- 51:37Speaker 3: it's just the cost of getting it in the shop, because,
- 51:40Speaker 3: let's face it, the cost of having your vehicle inspected,
- 51:43Speaker 3: the majority of the cost is paying the shop to
- 51:47Speaker 3: bring it in, put it on the lift, do the
- 51:49Speaker 3: actual inspection. It takes time and and so you're never
- 51:54Speaker 3: walking out of there for under one hundred bucks.
- 51:55Speaker 2: It's just not plus you got to take time off
- 51:58Speaker 2: from your job or your family or whatever.
- 52:01Speaker 3: Yeah, somebody's got to get your vehicle there and then
- 52:04Speaker 3: get you back to pick it up.
- 52:05Speaker 5: It's it's a it's a hassle.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Yeah, just just a quick question, because I know when
- 52:13Speaker 4: I when my vehicle is due for inspection. On my
- 52:15Speaker 4: husband's vehicles due for inspection, we'll always like, oh, it's
- 52:19Speaker 4: time for inspection. I got to fix this before I
- 52:21Speaker 4: bring it in. I got to fix that because I
- 52:23Speaker 4: know it won't pass. So do you think by having
- 52:27Speaker 4: inspection yearly or by yearly that it makes people a
- 52:30Speaker 4: little bit more cautious and concerned about the care of
- 52:35Speaker 4: their vehicle versus saying, let's not do inspections at all,
- 52:39Speaker 4: and now people become very complacent, which makes their vehicle
- 52:42Speaker 4: then dangerous and they don't even know it.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Great question.
- 52:46Speaker 3: It is a great question, and you know it, and
- 52:48Speaker 3: it's a valid question. I don't know the firm answer
- 52:51Speaker 3: to it, but I would assume that most people value
- 52:54Speaker 3: their lives and don't want to drive something that's unsafe.
- 52:58Speaker 2: And you use the word as soon and we know
- 53:00Speaker 2: what that means, right.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Well, we do know what that means, and and you know,
- 53:05Speaker 3: but still most people have a mechanic that they take
- 53:08Speaker 3: their car to and that mechanic is going to alert
- 53:11Speaker 3: them if there's something that is unsafe.
- 53:14Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I mean I know that.
- 53:18Speaker 3: I've always, you know, ever since I was sixteen years old,
- 53:21Speaker 3: I took my mechanic, my car to a mechanic that
- 53:24Speaker 3: I trusted and and they they would make sure that
- 53:28Speaker 3: my vehicle was safe and they wouldn't let me pick
- 53:32Speaker 3: it up if I needed to to fix something.
- 53:35Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, yeah, and.
- 53:42Speaker 2: There's a web not a website, And hopefully Representative Noise
- 53:47Speaker 2: will we'll be able to come on with us at
- 53:50Speaker 2: some point talk about this a little bit, Dann Noise.
- 53:52Speaker 5: But it's a tough time to get legislators on the air.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Behind I know, but there's a there's a Facebook group
- 53:59Speaker 2: or peage that.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Yeah, and what exactly are their priorities because it's not
- 54:07Speaker 4: for the people.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Well, you know, I mean I think right now the
- 54:11Speaker 3: priority in the legislator and the legislature is dealing with
- 54:14Speaker 3: the uh.
- 54:16Speaker 5: The school taxes, the school the school what are they
- 54:22Speaker 5: calling it?
- 54:23Speaker 3: How they're closing some and they're trying to figure out
- 54:26Speaker 3: how to.
- 54:26Speaker 5: Solve the cost situation with the schools.
- 54:29Speaker 4: Yeah, they just keep raising our taxes so that we can.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Live well exactly, and like you know America, I mean,
- 54:36Speaker 3: vermontors cannot put up with another twelve to fourteen percent increase.
- 54:41Speaker 3: You know, last year they bought it down by by
- 54:45Speaker 3: moving money from the general fund. But you can't keep
- 54:48Speaker 3: doing that because it's unsustainable, and they're going to try to.
- 54:50Speaker 5: Do it again this year. I think.
- 54:52Speaker 3: But but there's a limit to the amount of times
- 54:56Speaker 3: you can do that because money doesn't come from nowhere.
- 55:01Speaker 3: You know, when you take it from the general fund,
- 55:03Speaker 3: then it's not available for other programs either.
- 55:06Speaker 4: So, but it's pushing people out the how do you
- 55:08Speaker 4: keep raising taxes the more people are leaving, including myself?
- 55:11Speaker 2: Right, yeah, it.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Is, yeah, exactly, And this is a small thing compared
- 55:17Speaker 3: to school taxes. So the pro the priority in the
- 55:20Speaker 3: legislature this year is definitely on the school consolidation thing
- 55:26Speaker 3: and trying to get some efficiencies into a school system
- 55:29Speaker 3: that was designed, you know, years ago in the nineties
- 55:33Speaker 3: with that sixty and such. You know, they came up
- 55:38Speaker 3: with a statewide funding thing and and you know it
- 55:42Speaker 3: was designed for a state that is no longer here
- 55:45Speaker 3: like we you know, we have a different state. We
- 55:47Speaker 3: have fewer kids than we ever did before. And it's
- 55:50Speaker 3: well not ever, but I mean then we did thirty
- 55:52Speaker 3: years ago. And you know, we have schools that are
- 55:56Speaker 3: you know, K through six schools with thirty kids in
- 55:58Speaker 3: the entire school, and we're running.
- 56:01Speaker 5: Supervisory districts around them.
- 56:03Speaker 3: And we've got you know, a whole lot of infrastructure
- 56:06Speaker 3: and a whole lot of you know, people on payroll
- 56:10Speaker 3: that could be way more efficiently used.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So I think the priorities in general, and
- 56:19Speaker 2: I know this is kind of a planket statement here
- 56:22Speaker 2: are pretty pretty screwed up under the Golden Dome. Just
- 56:26Speaker 2: my opinion. I know it's a super general, generalized statement,
- 56:30Speaker 2: a factual though, I.
- 56:33Speaker 5: Mean, we don't know about it. These are these are opinions.
- 56:36Speaker 2: Right, Yeah.
- 56:37Speaker 4: Well, when we see where our money is going and
- 56:40Speaker 4: it's not going to where we thought it was supposed
- 56:42Speaker 4: to go, that's kind.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Of a fact. It's not opinion.
- 56:45Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true. That's true.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Yeah, And now we've got it. We've got a debate
- 56:50Speaker 2: over Act two fifty land use law reforms that we
- 56:54Speaker 2: were talking about earlier this morning. And you know, you
- 56:59Speaker 2: should pick up the Vermont Daily Chronicle and read the
- 57:03Speaker 2: headline this land is your land. It's it's on there
- 57:06Speaker 2: right now, new it is. It's I mean, come on, man,
- 57:10Speaker 2: we've just got no I'm not saying that that that's
- 57:15Speaker 2: not important, but the god damn, we've got some really
- 57:20Speaker 2: important things that should be at the at the front
- 57:23Speaker 2: of the list. Yeah, come on, you.
- 57:26Speaker 3: Know, and this is you know, This is not a
- 57:28Speaker 3: huge thing, and it's been going on for years, but
- 57:31Speaker 3: it's you know, every little thing counts, and this is
- 57:36Speaker 3: a way bigger problem for for folks who don't make
- 57:41Speaker 3: a lot of money, drive an older vehicle and have
- 57:44Speaker 3: to get to work maybe an hour from from where
- 57:47Speaker 3: they work, because let's face it, the poorer someone is,
- 57:50Speaker 3: the more they have to drive. Because you cannot buy
- 57:54Speaker 3: a house or rent an apartment. I'm a few miles
- 57:58Speaker 3: from work if you work in Chittenden County, if.
- 58:01Speaker 5: You're broke, you know, yeah, I mean, let me tell you.
- 58:05Speaker 3: It's you know, a lot of these laws are made
- 58:09Speaker 3: in Montpelier, which is largely you know, the legislature is
- 58:13Speaker 3: largely composed of legislators from our most populous county because
- 58:20Speaker 3: it's all based on population since nineteen sixty five, and
- 58:24Speaker 3: that Chittenden County the People's Republic of Chittenden.
- 58:29Speaker 2: And where is it and where is Chittenden County exactly?
- 58:36Speaker 3: Well, you know, it's it's right next to Vermont.
- 58:44Speaker 2: I met young for that one. I did I set
- 58:46Speaker 2: him up for that one. Oh god, well, you know
- 58:52Speaker 2: it is.
- 58:52Speaker 3: It's a it's a beautiful place because it's right next
- 58:55Speaker 3: to Vermont. It has a glowing view of Mount Mansfield.
- 59:00Speaker 3: But uh, but you know, there are people outside chitten
- 59:05Speaker 3: In County who are Vermonters who don't live the same
- 59:10Speaker 3: life that people in Chittenden County live. And I'm not
- 59:13Speaker 3: saying everyone. You can't blanket statement these things. You can't
- 59:16Speaker 3: say everyone in chitten In County as well, because they're not.
- 59:19Speaker 3: But but let's face it, the average income in chitten
- 59:24Speaker 3: In County is a heck of a lot higher than
- 59:27Speaker 3: uh than Essex County.
- 59:30Speaker 5: YEP or or even rural Washington County.
- 59:34Speaker 2: But that's that's normal in any state.
- 59:37Speaker 4: I mean, you go to New York and you want
- 59:39Speaker 4: to move to Huntington Bay or someplace like that, you're
- 59:43Speaker 4: gonna pay a lot more than if you just moved
- 59:44Speaker 4: to Huntington. So everything's everything's based on you know what
- 59:48Speaker 4: they say, location, location, location.
- 59:51Speaker 2: It is.
- 59:52Speaker 4: But there's no reason to keep raising our taxes every
- 59:56Speaker 4: year after year after year and then doing a collection
- 59:59Speaker 4: of access for infrastructure roads and then you don't spend
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: it on that, you know, they spend it on something else.
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: And that's what's pissing me off because I almost want
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: to go to the legislature and say, can I have
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: some money back on my taxes because you didn't fix
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: those roads? So can I get my money back? Because
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: I gave it to you in good faith that this
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: was going to be for infrastructure and roads and you
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: didn't spend it there.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Right, And there's a lot of that, a lot of
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: that that goes on. You know, they're borrowing money from
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: one fund, you know, to do something else, and that's
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: that's I'm pretty sure there's some of that that's been
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: going on with the education fund in this state, where
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: they're taking it from transportation and putting it in an
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: education things like that. You know, it's a tough game,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: but you know, my problem is, you know, I really
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: don't like to see working Vermontors take the shaft.
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: And there's a.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Lot of that that's been going on for a long time.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: And it's not just with state inspections. It's not just
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: with taxes. It's with uh, you know, the fact that
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: you know, our most populous county calls all the shots
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: and makes all kinds of decisions.
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: And and this you know, a lot of times the
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: rural areas have to pay the price.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: Because you know, where do they put the big wind farm?
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: They put it in the Northeast Kingdom.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Where are they trying to cite a brand new twenty
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: seven acre solar solar insallation on what used to be
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: a farm field. They're doing that in the Northeast Kingdom.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: They're trying to get that put in starting in July.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: You know where is the landfill now? It's up in
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: the Northeast Kingdom. You know, we take our trash from
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Hittman County and we ship it sending trucks all the
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: way up to Coventry. You know, it's why is it
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: that the rural parts of the state are the ones
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: that end up with all the ship that people in
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: in the rural in the more populous areas don't want
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: to see and don't want to deal with in their backyard.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: And it's because of money and population. They have the
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: population to uh to have all the you know, the
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: biggest representation in Montpelier, and they've got the money to
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: shove this stuff through because it takes money to buy
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: off these legislators with lobbyists, and it's happening all the time.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Wow, newte I was I was asking uh Jed the
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: other day. Uh, if if it was possible and just
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: to shift gears here to to shut off, to bypass
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: the UH the on off engine on off technology in
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: my truck. And he basically and when you ask Jed,
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: you're gonna get you're gonna get an accurate answer. And
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: he said no, basically no. And if Jed says no,
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: it's no, it's no. And that that whole thing drives
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: me batshit the whole you know, forgetting to shut the
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: the auto switch off every time I drive my car
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: and I don't remember until I come up to a
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: stop sign and my engine shuts off. That ship drives
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: me nuts. And yesterday, probably one of the biggest deregulation
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: in the American automobile industry came down, the Dagerment endangerment
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: ruling from the Obama administration. That ship ended and died
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: quickly yesterday. And new cars are going to be made without, uh,
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: just one of many things without that auto on off switch.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: You know, that was a big, big thing. Does that
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: have to do with the taxes and uh, the inspection? Nothing.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: You just basically vented because you felt like it. No,
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: I'm just shifting.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: Let's not waste his time or mine or the view
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: as time with your drama, I know, way way out
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: of control.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: I want to tell he has their drama, they got
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: to air out. It's okay.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: I want to tell has too much drama to air out.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: I wanted to ask him what what his what his
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: take was on this? What what is your take on
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: all that?
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: I really have a problem with modern cars in general
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: because they're so overly controlled by by computers and the
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: newest ones. You know, I'm my newest car is at
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: twenty eighteen, but like but uh, but you know the
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: newest ones, my god, like the the the the manufacturers
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: maintain control of these things even after you buy them.
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's insanity.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: A lot of it is subscription and based options and
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: and you know, getting back to what you were talking about,
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: like why can't what is wrong with letting the owner
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: of the vehicle decide by turning a switch that just
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: is a toggle, not a temporary thing, but a toggle
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: where you can just turn it on or turn it
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: off and leave it that way, so that if you
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: don't want to have your car turn off at intersections,
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: you just set it in the on position and it doesn't.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: There all do.
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: This should be up to the owner of the vehicle.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Right, But but it's not. When I turn my vehicle on,
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: it's it automatically defaults to that and then I have
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: to manually shut it off.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: So when I'm sure that that was about like lacating
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: the federal government regulations, you know, you know, because all
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: of this stuff comes down to like making sure that
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: their fleet will deliver a certain amount of miles per gallon,
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: and you know they have they agree to certain things
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: in order to get approval to produce a certain amount
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: of cars.
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, but it's just it sucks.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: I mean, the only way around it is to drive
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: older vehicles. And that's why you start looking around for
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: low mileage, really good condition older vehicles, and they're worth
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: like you'll pay as much for a fifteen year old
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: truck that's low mileage as as as it cost when
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: it was new, or more, because there's so much demand
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: for good older vehicles, because older vehicles you can actually
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: own and control yourself, whereas newer vehicles you can't. And
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: there is a sub section of the population myself included,
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: who's tired of that crap.
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and I missed the days when I used
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: to be able to go in and just change the
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: spark plugs on my own without having to deal. Well, well,
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: I still change. I mean, I get a brand new
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: car every three years, but I do the oil changes.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: I don't. I don't bring it back to them because
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: forget it. Yeah yeah, yep, hey nude, thanks for all
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: your time this for and Bud.
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you know, sorry for the ranting and raving.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: But no, I wasn't going to say it, but you
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: did kind of go up on a tangent there.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Just a little bit, just a little bit, just you know,
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: But that's all right. We appreciate you taking the time
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: in the effort. Yeah, man, well you're welcome.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: You know, the thing with the inspection thing is it's
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: not even a partisan issue. We got our Democratic legislator
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: trying to fix it. We've got our Republican governor who
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: came out in favor of eliminating inspection a couple of
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: years ago.
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: I mean, you know, I think a lot of people
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: can get behind this.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: It's just that we've got to support the legs the
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: legislators who are trying to do it, and uh and
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: support their legislation. So you know, let's let's get this done.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: We shall see, we shall see. Thanks nude boy. You know,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: and we haven't even talked about the fact that that
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: that Congress is facing a midnight line tonight for what
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: for another partial to shut down to keep the DHS funded.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: I haven't even gotten there this morning.
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: We don't want to go there because if you want
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: to get political, I will get political. And that's why
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: you have to You read it, you absorb it, you
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: draw your opinions on it, and then move on. Don't
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: get stuck in it, because a lot of people get
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: stuck in it. Okay, I found times that I get
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: Like I told you the other day. I get up
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: every morning, my brother's usually up before me, and I say,
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: good morning, what did Trump do today?
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: And heally just say no, it was a quiet night.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Will say he bombed this or whatever. I haven't even
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: had a chance to ask you your whole take on
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: Nancy Guthrie. Did you hear that criminologist on the air yesterday?
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: I did, and it's impressive that he came on and
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: he said the things he did, very feel very impressive.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: But I don't say but after something positive, because it
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: doesn't make sense if I say, but then it negates it,
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: so it was impressive.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: I have a question for everybody, and the question is,
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: what about those thousands millions of people that are kidnapped, children,
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: young adults, and elderly people who are abused or kidnapped.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Why don't we see any of that on the news?
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Do you have to be a movie star or a
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: news reporter to get attention on kidnapping this reporter's mother, right, Okay,
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: to get attention on a kidnapping and follow this through
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: and make the whole country watch this unfold live day
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: after day after day drama. Okay, while how about the
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: old lady down the street who got kidnapped? Nobody reports
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: that it gets to the it gets to the police station.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: They do blah blah blah, and then they find it
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: and either she's dead or she's alive and they move on.
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: Okay, but not this if you're a star or a
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: news reporter. Because I don't think she's really a movie star.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: She's more like very famous in the news world because
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: her mother was kidnapped. They've now done it on her show,
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: They've been talking about it, They've been talking on every
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: other news show.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: I mean are they going to make a movie of it?
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: In the meantime, where is the movie on all these
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: people that are getting kidnapped that nobody's paying attention to.
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: I asked this criminal, why does she get all the fame,
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: whether it be positive or negative fame. Why does she
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: get all that attention and not my neighbor down the
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: street who's child's missing?
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Or why is she important and not us? That's all
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: I want to know. That is probably one of the
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: biggest We're getting some folks that are asking me to
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: ding here, so you know, it's sad. That's probably one
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: of the biggest questions that I think no one's talking about.
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: And it's said what she's going through and what her
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: mother's hate went through or is going through. I don't
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: know if her mother's dead. If she did, it's sad
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: that she went through that. If she's still alive, it's
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: sad that she's going through that. I sympathize, empathize the
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: whole thing. But how many people are missing in the
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: US and when have we seen anything? We'll see afterwards.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Oh, a child was missing as of March blah blah
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: blah of twenty twenty six, and the case is now
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: closed because the child was found dead. We didn't even
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: know the child was missing that anybody could help.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: So we got GoFundMe pages and all of this for
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: catastrophes out there, for people who came up with cancer
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: and can't afford the treatment. So we we as a
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: community help them and give them money for this kind
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: of stuff because we care. But when it comes to
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: the kidnapping and the abuse of elderly or young children
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: or even regular everyday people, that's not important. Oh it
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: is for missus Guthrie though, And in no way disrespecting
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: the Guthries, because they're going through hell, and I feel
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: horrible for them, But I feel horrible for the other
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: millions of people out there that are going through hell too,
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: that aren't spotlight and aren't.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Helped the way these people have the Feds, and they
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: have everything in I asked this criminologist that was on
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: with me yesterday if he thought that Hollywood was paying
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: attention to this and or if he wouldn't be surprised
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: if they were right, and he basically gave a big
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: head nod on that. Right. I heard, And this was
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: day before yesterday, which kind of sparked that question that
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: there were some documentary crews that were part of the
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: media that were this is already already in the works.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: They're already getting footage to turn this into a documentary.
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: And you know why, because a lot of a lot
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: of these states, a lot of these producers, directors, all
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: that stuff, they got no good material anymore. They're taking
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: all the classics and rewriting all the classics to be
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: modern day kind of a thing. Okay, and and and
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: so now they're trying to sensation, first of all, the
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: new sensationalize this whole situation, because even when they didn't
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: have facts, they did tons of questions that made people
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: think and conspiracies and all this crap.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: And now they're going to take that sensationalism and make
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: money off make money off of.
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: Somebody's tragedy by turning it into some kind of documentary
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: or movie.
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: Come on, you know what, I what I heard I
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: think was yesterday, might been the day before breaking news. Yeah,
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: they've got a tent out the front lawn. Yes, the
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: tent right now, what's going on underneath that tent? Yeah,
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: it's just they they had the tent because it was so.
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: Suvy yep, Yep, it's just you know, if you're going
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: to sensationalize this, let's go to the root of it.
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: Let's do a documentary on people that are missing in
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: the lack of concern or attention that's given to those
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: people versus Hollywood stars.
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: Laura wants to come on and talk about some from
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: unsolved cases.
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: Because not but nothing. If if somebody's house is broken
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: into in Beverly Hills and they're a superstar, okay, everybody
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: knows about it.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: Everyone everyone knows.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: Okay, Yet if somebody's house is broken into in Beverly Hills,
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: that isn't anybody important?
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: I never heard of any of those.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: Sure, I never heard Mary Pickford of seven seven three
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: five Hollywood Lane is missing for the last four months,
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: and the National Guard and the FEDS and everybody. Nobody
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: deploys any of that for that helicopter, any of us.
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: Nobody does anything, Okay, And I'm like, why, I feel
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: bad for the situation. I feel bad for the situation
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: anybody is in like that. That's horrifying. I couldn't even
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: imagine it.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: Okay, but.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: Why does it have to be such a news story
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: for Savannah? I would think leave her the fuck alone
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: and do your job. But instead it's you know, since
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: sayan now she's doing a plea out there, and her
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: and her mother's faces on billboards out there and all
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: this stuff. What happened to the faces that used to
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: be on milk cottons? They're not there anymore. Okay, you
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: have to go into Walmart to look on the wall. Yeah,
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: and that's and that's But that's sad because all you
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: go to the police, Edson, I've heard it on TV,
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: but I'm sure it happens to real Like when you
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: go in to report somebody missing. Well, man, we've got
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: a million missing cases, and you know, we'll put this
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: on the pile. But you know, there's a lot of people.
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: Sometimes I have to jump through hoops because I know
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: somebody is missing and they could be in danger. All
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: in my either, this is am I entitled to an opinion.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: You are entitled to an opinion. All media TV should
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: have a scrolling bar at the bottom that has links
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: to missing people, yes, and or pictures. Yes, I agree
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: all of them. Yeah, don't give a shit if it's CNN,
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: if it's Fox, CBS, ABC.
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: Don't quos needs to stop asking questions to make people
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: go into their conspiracy modes because they ask questions when
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: they don't even have the answers and they don't have
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: the fact chat and they're like, well, was it Savannah
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: Guthrie's brother in law that did it? Points bump them?
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: But what about the wife? What about Savannah's sister? Was
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: she part of it too? Was this something that It's like,
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: why are you asking these questions? Nobody has the answers.
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: You're just sensationalizing.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: So we can be like, ah, the brother in law,
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: now why would he be? I wonder what problems they had,
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: and we get to start thinking and causing conversation and
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: all this shit.
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: That's not our job. No, and the conversation between everybody
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: is healthy as far as helping to find the person,
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: because conversations go from this to this to this, and
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: it may go to somebody who says, you know what
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: I saw that person and such a where did you
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: see him last?
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: So I get that, but that conversation should be allowed
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: for anybody and everybody suffering through something like this, not
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: just a movie star or a news anchor.
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: You know, I wasn't even thinking until I heard on
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: the news that this Savannah. It was this suggestion by
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: the media that Savannah and her brother and sister should
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: voluntarily offer a polygraph, right, and just by hearing that
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: we as humans are going on I never thought of that. Yeah,
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: maybe think Savannah is involved. I think Savannah and her
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: brothers were in a conspiracy to extraordinary six million dollars.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: And then you go with no, I never really trusted
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: her on the air. She has that look. They have
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: had a couple of good fights. Yeah, and so it
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: it's just yeah, crazy not the news.
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: I know, it's sensationalized news, and I don't like sensationalized
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: news because the news reporters are asking the questions that
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: nobody can answer, including themselves, and speculating before facts even
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: start coming in. This speculation and that speculation should be
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: kept within the police station, not out to everybody else.
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: You're right, because what does Savannah's mother's kidnapping have to
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: do with somebody in Rhode Island that can't feed their
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: family because they lost their job. Nothing, So why do
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: you got to publicize it to everybody? Why don't you
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: public If you're going to advertise it, advertise all the
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: missing people. Make sure we know that there's more than
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: just Savannah Guthrie's mother that's missing in the world.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: Gee, you're kicking the ass. Well, I just get frustrated
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: and stuff like this because they create the conspiracy theories
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: and you say, oh, this person's full of conspiracy theories.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: We make fun of Michael my brother's saying, oh, he's
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: a conspiracy fiend. He loves conspiracy theories and this and that.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: How do those theories start? Yeah, they start by sensationalized
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: news that makes us think beyond what would be a
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: normal thought. Yes, would anybody think Savannah Guthrie did this
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: to her mother knowing how much she loves her and
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: had her on the ass so many times and this
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: and no, But the news said, ah, maybe they should
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: be they should have polygraph tests. And now we're like, Savannah,
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: could it be you? Yeah, and it's like, you know what,
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: I don't care. I feel bad for what you're going through,
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: but I got my own shit. Yeah, agree, agree, call
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: me crazy. So what do I know today? Friday the
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: thirteenth is and that burns my ass. Yeah, yeah, in
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: case you didn't know, that was the burn my ass.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: And j D had a lot, but I took over,
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: did you know that Friday, the thirteenth, day before Valentine's
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Day is like the day to break up. It's like,
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: this is it right here? Yeah, because you don't want
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: to go buy a present, so you want to get
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: good about the day before. I don't want to buy
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: some overpriced chocolates and a card and flowers and that
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: are going to do? You have really, really really.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: Great sex on Thursday, and then on Friday morning you
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: dump them before you have to get them a present, and.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: Then Friday or then on the fourteenth you can start looking.
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: No they cry, and you can buy your chocolates and
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: flowers and card for your new girlfriend, all for yourself.
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: What about the Gallantine What is that? What is that?
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: Gallantine days? What is that all about?
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: That's when gals get together and they celebrate their womanhood.
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: Galentine Gallantine, that's what it is. They celebrate their womanhood
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: with other women, best friends, stuff like that. Yeah, I
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: think it's the day before Valentine it is, so today
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: is Gallantines and women can support each other and they're like,
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: you're my bestie and I love you for this, And
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: if I went to jail, you'd bail me out, you know,
- 1:21:54Speaker 4: And they celebrate their friendships and their love for each
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: other as friends. Right, And my question is, where's Broullantine's
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: Day for men? Why is it always just for women?
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: Women want to be treated equal to men and they
- 1:22:09Speaker 4: should be, no question, I will never debate it. But
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: why do women get their own women's fitness center, but
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: if guys open up their own guys fitness center they
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: get blamed for being sexist and all that. Why do
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: women get Gallantine's Day but men don't get brou Andine's Day?
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: Did you just name it? Yeah?
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: And to me, I'm like, hey, women, you have Gallantine's Day,
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: enjoy it. I just hate the double standard that. If
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: we have another double standard, that burns my ass. If
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: you really want to get technical, why does every single
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: commercial and every single show have to have a white,
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: a black, a handicap, wheelchaired, autistic, but all in that
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: one commercial? And why is every commercial interracial?
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: Now? Why aren't there two a couple of white people
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: that do the commercial, or a couple of colored people
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: that do or a couple of Orientals that do. No,
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: this black person has this white person as their partner
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: and they have an Oriental child Asian? You said Oriental, Asian,
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: whatever the word is.
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: And my question is why I get it. We're not
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: supposed to see colors, we don't see race as anything.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: We just see a human being. I get that. So
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: anybody who wants to go well, ga, you know, people
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: are people, I get it.
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: Jesus are control.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: But why does everything why why does everything have to
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: have that?
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Okay, I just don't understand it. Now with all the
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: now with movies.
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: Okay, at the control desk is this woman, she's a
- 1:23:54Speaker 4: colored woman, bah blah blah. And then up wheels this
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: guy who's in charge of Bubba bar and then there's
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: this you know, I'm watching this show, The Pit.
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: I love The Pit.
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: It's an amazing, amazing series. But you have a therapist
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: who wheels himself in, and you got one of the
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: doctors that you know is on this spectrum. Okay, so
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: they they have to bring in. But the the head
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: charge nurse is white, but the head administration lady is black.
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: And it's like, why do you have to get every color,
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: shape and size of everything in there? Yeah, you don't
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: have to, but this world is so worried about everything
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: being so pc now inclusive, inclusive, that you can't.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: You can't.
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: They can have a show like Blackish, which is all
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: black people, but if they had a show Whitish, we would.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: Be hung to the cross. It's like you can't do
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: one without the other. You know. They talk about the
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: pendulum swinging one way and then it swings the other.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: This pendulum is only swinging over here.
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: Yeah, let's bring it down to normal that no matter
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: who's on it, you don't have to If I want
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: to make a movie, I don't have to say, well,
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: I got to get a handicapped person and they're handicapable
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: of whatever the word is. And we're gonna need to
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: bring in an oriental woman, okay, Asian, Asian, whatever, And
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: I want her to look like an older housewife. I
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: don't want her to look like a model, because that's
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: that could imply something.
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: Why does everything happen to be throwed out so badly?
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: She has to be not only Asian, but also a lesbians.
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: If we don't get at least one gay person or
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: lesbian person or trans person.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: Or whatever, and that then we're anti, you know. And
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: I don't watch why I love this guy so much
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: and I don't.
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: Watch these commercials to point it out. But my brother
- 1:25:49Speaker 4: pointed out to me the other day, and I didn't
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: think about it until he pointed out, And he says,
- 1:25:54Speaker 4: why is everybody on the commercials interracial? Are there no
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: more white couples or Black couples or Oriental couples or
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: Spanish cup Why does the black girl with the big
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: butt marry the skinny white guy?
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: And it's why why can't they just haven't seen Wicked?
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: I will not, I will not. A lot of what
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: you're talking about right now is in Wicked.
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: Well, and they ruined movies with this. Now they put
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: all this stuff into movies. Every movie has to be
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: woke and has to be inclusive to the point that
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: we took Annie and we made her a black girl.
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: Annie.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: He's got red hair and freckles. You that's what we
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: know her as.
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: Why did we rewrite it just to make black people
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: feel better?
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: You know? It's like, why do they take all these
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: things and now twist them?
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: Okay, the green Witch was a white witch and now
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: she's black.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: It's like, my gosh, what with green makeup? With green makeup?
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: And it's like I don't understand.
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: Yes, these actors talented and yes, we want to look
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: at the person and their ability to act and reach us,
- 1:27:05Speaker 4: not their color, their size, their shape. I get all that,
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: but you don't have to be deliberate about it. You
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: do an audition, you don't say, well, we're going to
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: need a black one now, so let's call.
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: Back some of the black ones.
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: No, it's a five people in a TV show, and
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: all five of them were talented. I don't give a
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: shit what color they are, and if they all five
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: of them are white and talented and they are more talented.
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: Same thing with schooling, where the colleges have to have
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: their quotas and stuff, talk about prejudice. An employer has
- 1:27:39Speaker 4: to take in anybody, okay, not even if they don't qualify,
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: because we need to hit our quotas so we don't
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: look bad. And that's what this world has come to
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: now that it's so inclusive and so everything else, that
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: they're forgetting the main principle of if you earn it,
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: you get it. If you don't earn it, you don't
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: get it. I don't care what color you are. If
- 1:28:02Speaker 4: it's a white movie, and now we're making another one
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: and only black people passed it, then't do that, but
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: or write a movie for write new shows that have
- 1:28:15Speaker 4: that in it.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, don't make it deliberate.
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: Yeah, start it over because people people see and they
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: know we're not stupid. We see what's happening, and we know,
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: especially as older people, and we see it every day
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: and we're like, why why, who cares?
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: Why? Well? People are loving you this morning.
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: She well, because I say what everybody's afraid to say,
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: and that to me is important because I'm not trying
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: to stir the pot. I am in no way racist,
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: I am no way prejudiced.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: None of that.
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: I will go out and talk to a bum on
- 1:28:50Speaker 4: the street, whether he's black or white.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:28:53Speaker 4: I will go out there, and I will do business
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: with any company, whether they're black or white. You know,
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: I was told, well, I'm gay, so I can't ever
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: go hobby lobby, okay, because they're anti gay, so I
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: can never shop there.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: That's not how I think of it. I think of it.
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: You've got good ass prices and the government's killing me financially.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna go where it's cheaper, okay, So so the
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: hell with it that? Okay, Oh, don't go to Chick
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: fil a because they're anti gay.
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: Guess what, their fucking chicken's amazing. So I don't prejudice
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: against anybody. And if you don't like me, I'm not
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: gonna not like you. You know, we watch this my big
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: fat Gypsy wedding or whatever it is.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: You guys got us on. Yeah, yeah, and the women
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: are like, you know what, he's a gorgeo, which means
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: non gypsy.
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: He's a gorgeous So I hate him. He's disgusting. They
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: smell the horrible people, really.
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: Really, and that's what we do. Everybody's out there judging.
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: I don't judge.
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: You earn your credits with me or you don't. I
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: start every friendship with a clean slate. If you decide
- 1:30:01Speaker 4: to taint the slate, that's.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: Not my fault.
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, then I don't like you anymore because you've
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: tainted the slate. So I don't see the natural color anymore. Okay,
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: So I don't. I'm not prejudiced. But these things that
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: I'm saying about TV and commercials and all this stuff
- 1:30:16Speaker 4: another form of sensationalizing. You're sensationalizing this gap between white
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: and black and oriental and gay and straight and trans.
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: So you're putting it all in a show, shoving it
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: all in our face so we see all the colors
- 1:30:32Speaker 4: of the rainbow. Okay, when we don't need to see
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: all the colors all the time. We know the rainbow's
- 1:30:39Speaker 4: out there. I know there's a rainbow out there of
- 1:30:42Speaker 4: a plethora of colors of people and styles and ethnis.
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: I don't need it shoved in my face on a
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: daily basis where you're forcing German actors to sound English
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: because you want to give them an English role or
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: whatever so that you can say you have a German
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: in there.
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: And why wow? Why Other than that, life's good, the
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: sun shining. I'm gonna go get my nails done today.
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: And did you hear? And I've got Lily coming latest.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: I can't wait to spend time with her. One of
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: the world headlines this morning. North Korean leader Kim Jong
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: un plans to designate his teenage daughter as his success
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: for successor. South Korea leaked this yesterday their spies. This
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: little girl is twelve years old, and he's probably teaching
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: it to be the biggest asshole. Yes. She made her
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: public debut this past November, where at a missile test
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: nice she got to press the red button. And by
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: the way, her first name is Kim Yep. You know,
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: people need to start watching out. The US unfortunately has
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: the worst leader and it's put us in a bad
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: situation with the world, and people need to watch out.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: China is capitalizing on us as fuck ups, you know,
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: and nobody sees it. But it's true. We hear it.
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: We hear it from all the big money companies out there.
- 1:32:25Speaker 4: We hear that from companies that do a lot of
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: business overseas that we're losing business to the Chinese and
- 1:32:34Speaker 4: they're building their businesses up. And we see it, but
- 1:32:42Speaker 4: our government doesn't. Our government's just blindly following a dictator
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: while we see other countries benefit from our losses. And
- 1:32:53Speaker 4: when other countries.
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: Retaliate a little bit, our leader just keeps jacking up
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: their tariffs.
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: That's who's Does he think he's hurting that country because
- 1:33:03Speaker 4: he's hurting his own country too.
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: Gee, you're just on fire. Oh, I got a lot
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: of thoughts.
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: But again, everybody, this is just my opinion. Oh it's
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: not you know, my father always told me all general
- 1:33:17Speaker 4: statements are not true, including the one I just made.
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: When you generalize there's some truths, there's some not truths
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: in it, okay. And when it becomes an opinion, that's
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: where I stand. If you don't stand there, I still
- 1:33:34Speaker 4: like you, okay, Because if I hate everybody that doesn't
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: like my opinion, I'd be feeling a lot of hate
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: in my brain. And I don't want to take that
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: space with hate. I got enough shit going on in
- 1:33:47Speaker 4: my brain that I don't need to add hate and
- 1:33:49Speaker 4: fighting and discord to it.
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: Sure, okay, Yeah, it's final question for this morning. Yes,
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: I may have one more after this, Okay, it may
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: not be the final Is it too late for guys
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: who haven't done a damn thing for Valentine's Day, which
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: is tomorrow? Is it too late for them?
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: No?
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: Do they have to spend more than fifty bucks too?
- 1:34:15Speaker 4: You know what, Go to your local pharmacy over here
- 1:34:19Speaker 4: or anywhere you are for those listening. Go to your
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: local pharmacy. You'll find those wilted roses because they're just
- 1:34:25Speaker 4: about dead because they've been out for two weeks. Grab
- 1:34:28Speaker 4: a handful of wilted roses, get a box of chocolate,
- 1:34:32Speaker 4: and say here, you don't have to buy jewelry or this,
- 1:34:36Speaker 4: and that you don't have to spend a lot of money.
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: It's late.
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: No, you know what you could do. You could go
- 1:34:41Speaker 4: to the store. I was telling this to Jed the
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: other day. He'll never do it. But go to the store,
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: buy two or three roses, pull all the pedals off,
- 1:34:51Speaker 4: put them on the floor in from the front door
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: all the way to the bedroom, and in between that
- 1:34:57Speaker 4: leave little notes of how I love you and another
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: out remembering something that you guys did in the past,
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: remember when we did this, And then when they get
- 1:35:05Speaker 4: to the bedroom, you're butt fucking naked in your bed
- 1:35:09Speaker 4: waiting for them. That's a nicer gift than just yeah
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: then than spending money, because.
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: Lesson to be learned here.
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: Original is much more fun than going and doing the stereotype.
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: It's much more fun, you know. So do something original.
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: Draw your face, put it on the on the refrigerator
- 1:35:36Speaker 4: and say when they come home, if you love that face,
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: meet me in the in the bedroom, you know, Or
