- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast. Hit a celebrity gossip. What do
- 0:03Speaker 1: you got?
- 0:04Speaker 2: So we've been waiting for ages to find out who
- 0:07Speaker 2: is going to perform at next year's Super Bowl halftime show.
- 0:09Speaker 2: And the announcement's late this year because normally it comes
- 0:12Speaker 2: out in September. And we're midway through October and we
- 0:15Speaker 2: still don't know. There were rumours circulating that it was
- 0:18Speaker 2: Miley Cyrus because there was this cryptic post that went
- 0:20Speaker 2: up by Apple Music who does the halftime show and
- 0:22Speaker 2: it was deleted and it looked like Miley's silhouette. Other
- 0:25Speaker 2: people online were speculating that it's Justin Bieber because he,
- 0:28Speaker 2: of course, did that big Coachella set this year.
- 0:31Speaker 3: He'd be great.
- 0:32Speaker 2: But it turns out the answer may have been in
- 0:34Speaker 2: front of us all along and Jay-Z may have picked himself.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Oh, because he's in charge of it, eh?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so Apple Music has a partnership for the halftime
- 0:42Speaker 2: show with Rock Nation, which is his entertainment company. So
- 0:46Speaker 2: he's been doing that since 2019. He serves as the
- 0:48Speaker 2: league's live music entertainment strategist.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Oh, just put me in there, eh?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Well, you know what, though? Not a bad idea.
- 0:55Speaker 2: So he's got a tour coming up as well. He's
- 0:58Speaker 2: celebrating his 30th anniversary of his debut and stuff like that.
- 1:02Speaker 3: But he's also, Rock.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Nation's label, his label, has signed a number of huge
- 1:09Speaker 2: artists over the years. So when I'm thinking of a
- 1:10Speaker 2: Jay-Z halftime show, I'm thinking of it being very similar
- 1:13Speaker 2: to the Dr. Dre halftime show we saw five or
- 1:16Speaker 2: so years ago where he brings out all the artists
- 1:19Speaker 2: he's signed over the years. Some of the ones Jay-Z's signed, Rihanna.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion, J. Cole, Big Sean, A
- 1:27Speaker 2: $ AP Rocky, DJ Khaled.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Like, that could be epic.
- 1:30Speaker 1: So it's not just going to be Jay-Z standing there
- 1:32Speaker 1: doing his solo stuff.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Even if it was, that would be epic as well. What?
- 1:37Speaker 3: You don't think Jay-Z's that Jay-Z fan?
- 1:40Speaker 1: I'm not saying he's crap. I'm just saying, like, every
- 1:42Speaker 1: song he's got that's big is with another artist.
- 1:46Speaker 3: So that's normally what rappers have, though.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Well, name your favourite solo Jay-Z song.
- 1:51Speaker 3: 99 Problems.
- 1:53Speaker 1: If we're talking about which.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Other people all run this town.
- 2:03Speaker 1: That's Rihanna.
- 2:04Speaker 3: And Kanye.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Oh, I don't think Kanye will be out there.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Well, he cancelled.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Your Empire State of Mind with Alicia Keys. Oh, yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 5: His biggest.
- 2:13Speaker 4: No!
- 2:16Speaker 3: Oh, what about Numb with Linkin Park?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Bonnie and Clyde?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Bonnie and Clyde.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I can do Bonnie and Clyde. Yeah, that's with Beyonce.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Oh, I need in this life of sin is me
- 2:33Speaker 2: and my girlfriend. See, imagine how good all this would be.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Imagine if he brought Beyonce out. Imagine if he just
- 2:38Speaker 3: brought out all his collaborators. Yeah.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Linkin Park, are they still a thing? That would be
- 2:44Speaker 1: pretty cool. End it on that.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Are you ready?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Start it on that. I don't know.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I reckon start with Run This Town, end with 99 Problems.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Ends in Paris.
- 2:56Speaker 1: What was that?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Sorry. N. Finelli in Paris. Oh, Kanye again. Yeah. Fish fillet.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Just do things without Kanye.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Yeah. There's no way Kanye.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Could go out there.
- 3:12Speaker 3: What can he do?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Just insert another rapper or put Kanye's recorded part in there.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Maybe you just can't do the Kanye songs then. I
- 3:20Speaker 1: don't know.
- 3:21Speaker 3: He's got so many.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Anyway, so it hasn't officially been confirmed, but as soon
- 3:26Speaker 2: as it is, I'll let you know. And also Sasha
- 3:27Speaker 2: Baron Cohen, who's famous for characters like Borat and Ali
- 3:31Speaker 2: G and obviously a new Ali G movie.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Bruno was the other, the gay guy character.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Yeah, a new Ali G. Ali G, who is I?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah. He's coming out in cinemas October 23, which is
- 3:42Speaker 2: this Friday, one weekend only. So, yeah, Sacha Baron Cohen
- 3:45Speaker 2: was speaking to Howard Stern over in the US and
- 3:48Speaker 2: he spoke about the fact that for these characters, he
- 3:49Speaker 2: obviously has to do a bit of method acting. And
- 3:52Speaker 2: before and after the scene, he has to stay in
- 3:54Speaker 2: character to make sure that he's fully in the zone.
- 3:56Speaker 2: But he goes so far to embody these characters and
- 3:59Speaker 2: he explained just the lengths that he goes to to
- 4:02Speaker 2: make sure he nails it every time.
- 4:04Speaker 5: I have to create a 360-degree character, right? My guys
- 4:07Speaker 5: call it locking in. In other words, when I'm in character,
- 4:11Speaker 5: there's nothing you can ask me that can reveal that
- 4:14Speaker 5: I'm fake. There's no tell. And everything on my person
- 4:18Speaker 5: is real.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Wow.
- 4:20Speaker 5: They all smell a particular way. Borat stinks. Does he?
- 4:24Speaker 3: How do you get the stench?
- 4:25Speaker 1: You just don't shower?
- 4:27Speaker 5: The outfit has never been washed.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Wow.
- 4:29Speaker 5: And then I'll spray myself with a kind of, you know,
- 4:33Speaker 5: disgusting thing.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That's so gross. And Borat would smell.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Just imagine.
- 4:38Speaker 4: That man, Keeney, he's never washed it.
- 4:41Speaker 3: And he's hairy like an animal. But just like you, there's.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Always that one stinky guy. And you can normally tell visually. Like, Borat,
- 4:48Speaker 2: you stink. You know, you can just tell that he's.
- 4:50Speaker 2: a stinky guy yeah i think in real life too
- 4:52Speaker 2: you look at people and you're like oh is it
- 4:55Speaker 2: you smell hairier they are uh i think the hair
- 5:00Speaker 2: contributes because yeah that's why men have worse bo is
- 5:03Speaker 2: well they sweat more but also.
- 5:05Speaker 3: They have the underarm hair and it sticks into.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It who smells around here on the team who's the
- 5:10Speaker 1: smelliest one.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I won't reveal.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Oh.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Why are you looking at Chelsea?
- 5:15Speaker 3: No, I'm not. I'm looking around. I'm looking around. It's
- 5:18Speaker 3: not Chelsea. She smells lovely. Do I smell?
- 5:21Speaker 2: No, I've been in a booth with you with no
- 5:23Speaker 2: windows for all week and no smell.
- 5:25Speaker 3: No smell. Even though you've got that big hound at home.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 3: The Bernard or whatever.
- 5:31Speaker 5: St.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Bernard cross poodle. Yeah, that's the other thing. Some people
- 5:33Speaker 3: smell like dog too.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah, or their house. You walk into it. Or wet towel.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I used to go to a mate's house. His mum
- 5:38Speaker 1: would smoke inside and they had a big Labrador.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Oh, the double whammy.
- 5:42Speaker 4: My girlfriend has two dogs and like, and she's really prideful.
- 5:47Speaker 4: She takes a lot of care of her house, but
- 5:49Speaker 4: I'm like, it doesn't matter because it just smells like dog.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what you do.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Do you not smell yourself? That's what I always wonder.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Oh, if I smelt, would I not know? No, no, no.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Oh.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Well, actually, you know what? Sometimes if I'm being sweaty
- 6:04Speaker 1: and deodorants run off, I can smell a bit of BO. Yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 1: of course. So wouldn't you smell your own BO?
- 6:09Speaker 3: Yeah, of course you do.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Yeah. If I've accidentally gone for a walk and not
- 6:12Speaker 4: put deodorant on, I'm like.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Whoa, she needs a shower.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you can smell it.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Yeah, or a baby wipe. Bird bath myself.
- 6:18Speaker 1: So with that in mind, the smelly people know it
- 6:21Speaker 1: but don't care?
- 6:22Speaker 3: The people who drive smelly cars, they don't know either?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Or smelly houses?
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I think they just love their animals so much they
- 6:29Speaker 3: don't care.
- 6:29Speaker 1: They don't care, right? Yeah.
