- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: All right, be it, babe, she's back.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: Love the first episode.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: We got so much out of it, but we want to get tactical.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: We don't want to waste our time.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to help the habits and Rachel Varga is here to make sure that we are doing all the right things to take care of ourselves because, I don't know what we talked about in the first episode, but do we talk about how self-care is an act of self-love?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's self-love when you care for yourself, right?
- 2:32[SPEAKER_04]: It's critical.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_04]: We need to tend to our inner garden and sanctuary first and foremost before we give back to others so that we can from the most present place, which is love.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Rachel Varga, just in case anyone hasn't listened to your last episode, we'll link it in the show notes.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: But can you tell everyone a little bit, you know, remind of who you are and why you rock at all the things about to talk about?
- 2:56[SPEAKER_04]: All thanks, Leslie, and I'm thrilled to be here.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_04]: Again, what we're going to get into some practical tips.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_04]: So a little bit about myself.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_04]: I am a, what you would consider a double board certified aesthetic nurse specialist since 2011.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_04]: What does that mean?
- 3:12[SPEAKER_04]: Well, as a traditionally trained aesthetic nurse.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_04]: I've.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_04]: performed thousands of rejuvenation procedures on patients over the years.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_04]: From peels to lasers to injectables, assisting with surgery, teach other docs and nurses on these techniques, write research papers, obviously, how the school of Bradian's podcast that you've been on last week.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_04]: However,
- 3:33[SPEAKER_04]: After being in that world for so long and then incorporating biohacking and longevity practices and truly amplifying the home care practices that actually make a huge difference long term and then maybe sprinkling in some of the inclinic things.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_04]: It's just made the world of difference for me and that's really what I'm all about is helping you both look and feel your best and if I can do it,
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's what we want because sometimes it's like, oh my god, is this even impossible?
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like, can I even attain these things?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have to be expert at it?
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I appreciate that you make things accessible and easy for us.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so let's talk about it.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, most of women listening to this show are like me.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: We're over 40.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: We're trying to, you know, some of us were raised in the 80s and like no, and everyone like to tan baby back then.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: So we're all.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: We learned in our 20s.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: Oops, we got to wear a sunscreen, we got to do other things, but what are some practical tips in our self care in our bathrooms and taking care of ourselves that we that we should be thinking about?
- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: I'm thinking like, should I is wish on a thing?
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: Is that gonna do anything for me?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm thinking like, you know, that kind of stuff.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what are your favorite tools that maybe are underrated and we should be thinking about?
- 4:50[SPEAKER_04]: 100%.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_04]: Let's start with a saying this stage for AM and PM rituals.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_04]: I don't say morning because why do we want to more in the morning, right?
- 5:00[SPEAKER_04]: Let's start to the day.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_04]: This is like beautiful, rather than giant baits.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_04]: So it really starts with hydration.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_04]: The skin, bottom line, we need to be drinking about two to two and a half layers of water a day.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_04]: Make sure there are some salts in there to support those adrenals.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_04]: Hello, life in our forties.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_04]: So if we're not, or fall, yeah.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_04]: those are green holes, they're going to get taxed, just with light stuff that happens.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_04]: So your AM and PM routine, we're going to get into the practical facial wash off skin care, but what this actually can do that's really potent is allow you to drop in for 5 to 15 minutes however long it takes you to get ready into your parasympathetic nervous system state.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_04]: And I would say that this is actually one of the most important things for us as women to dip into as often as possible.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_04]: That's actually going to slow our aging get that cordial down, get that adrenaline down, get that sympathetic state nervous system.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_04]: state down and regulate it into the parasympathetic because at the end of the day, that state itself that you're consciously stepping into when you step into your bathroom where you do yourself care, it's setting that intention and setting that stage.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_04]: So I didn't want to bypass or skim over, but that's why your self-love time really is doing is
- 6:30[SPEAKER_04]: It's giving you that opportunity to dip into that Paris empathetic nervous system, rest and recover and regenerative state.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_04]: That's what we're doing with our skincare, right?
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: The first thing is going to be the water.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yes, yes.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't think that no one was expecting that to be the first thing.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: We're like, okay, hydration.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: Which moisturizer and you're like water?
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: I do think we we miss it and then the salt the part component of it because I Do think people are like, oh my god, I want to be bloated like I remember you know everyone's like I have a photo shoot no salt and it's like yeah, but like I've had blood test gun We're like the guys like you could eat a salt like like your body needs more salt
- 7:17[SPEAKER_04]: Most of us do, and especially if we're here, I mean, I'm in my late 30s, I'm not 40 yet, but I'm feeling those shifts.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_04]: I'm feeling that need for that softness and that additional salt intake with the hydration to support the adrenals, because I know that there's things that are going to be happening.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to prepare menopause and menopause and all that so I don't want to downplay that and it's also just a really good practice to focus on your hydration before you reach for that coffee to nourish the body is going to be great for brain support as well.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_04]: So now I'm getting into the nitty gritty side of the skin care things I'm huge fan of taking shower or taking a bath in the AM.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_04]: It's really great for me.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_04]: I train at fun, whether that's Pilates or yoga, weightlifting, I do a big mix of a lot of different things.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_04]: I need that warmth.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_04]: I need that relaxation in the am.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes we can wake up just like a little bit stiff especially when we are training to a quite a bit.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_04]: Basha relaxed, relaxed that nervous system.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_04]: And you'll actually get a better base watch and exfoliation will talk about the body, but I do like to suggest doing cleanse.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_04]: I have a great cleanser on my skin shop.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_04]: and then follow that up with the scrub and you'll get a better face wash with that fresh running water as opposed to over the sink you might have some residual cleanser left over and then you have a water fight on your vanity.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm one of my facialists who made these amazing things but that it was a towel on your hands and I went all the way up like imagine like leg warmers for your arms when it was like a towel so you could like wash your hands, wash your face with these
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: But then I had to put them on every day and I'm like, this is too much.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_02]: I prefer to be in the shower.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: I have my face washing the shower.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: Just you are correct.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: I hate when I get up.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, oh, there's a bunch all around my eyes.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: Awesome.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's just more efficient because I don't know what you all, but I brush my teeth in the bathroom shower too.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_04]: So, do my face cleanse, do my face scrub, because that regular exfoliation is actually, it's a huge myth that people think, oh, if I've read sensitive dry skin, I don't want to scrub, you do want to gently exfoliate so that your products and serums and be better absorbed in the skin, you don't have this build up of the stratum corneum which are like stacked corn flakes.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_04]: brush your teeth in there too get that heat on the body get the body kind of relaxed waking up a little bit and then if you are brave enough doing about a 20 to 30 second blast of cold.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_04]: is really helpful for toning that vagus nerve, maybe even humming in the shower, not enough women are doing this, and I see a lot of women struggling in that sympathetic dominant nervous system state.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_04]: So all of these little things is just that you start to weave into your daily practices are not only gonna help your skin look better, but are going to be supportive of the brain and the nervous system health, which thus is gonna make you a little bit more powerful,
- 10:34[SPEAKER_04]: in that mind body connection when you go into your workouts too.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh, love this.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: What a fun shower routine.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like I, I'm really, I think this is great.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm humming.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_02]: What an interesting.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: So do you have with the cold or instead of the cold or after the cold, when do you have?
- 10:52[SPEAKER_04]: Actually a great distraction technique when you're getting that cold exposure.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't love cold exposure.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_04]: I much prefer heat, but we do want to balance that heat and cold in young.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_04]: We live in a world of duality.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_04]: So if humming can I, I just think it's kind of stacking your biggest or toning with the humming.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_04]: So like a
- 11:11[SPEAKER_04]: Um, or boo, those are good to do while you're getting through the motion of that 20 to 30 seconds, cold shock, which is good for you.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_04]: And these are just little things that can be woven into your routines that are just going to make it a little bit next level.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, okay, I love this and it's through I I also had heard like don't exfoliate your face too much, but I got a really amazing gentle gentle exfoliation that face wash that I really loved and it my face left feeling moisturized afterwards.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think I was the youngest when I was using that every single day.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: So I clearly have to get back on that.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_04]: I can actually send you, I don't know why I haven't sent you this already, but just like a whole
- 12:00[SPEAKER_04]: I have a really great tightening ice serum, C60 serum, copper peptide, moisturizer sunscreen, and you're going to be set.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_04]: That's a really solid basic routine.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_04]: And when you're in the shower, another thing to stack in this moment for you when you're rinse your body off by the way, I wrote a research paper, but a year and a half ago, paddled oxidative stress that is
- 12:27[SPEAKER_04]: What does that mean?
- 12:28[SPEAKER_04]: Why is it important?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's really inflammation that ages us.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_04]: And where do those environmental toxins come from?
- 12:37[SPEAKER_04]: Airwater lighting, electromagnetic's eating the wrong foods.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_04]: yeast fungi mold heavy metals and parasites.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_04]: And when I was researching air, when heavy metals in the air land on the skin, they actually tell your peritinicates themselves to die faster.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_04]: So this concept of cleanliness is next to godliness, or rinsing off the energy of the day, has another layer to it that you might not have thought about, which is literally rinsing off debris in the air that might have landed on you while you're sleeping,
- 13:10[SPEAKER_04]: going throughout your daily life to get that skin clean like you don't have to scrub down your entire body but I would I will say is a really good scrub to do in the bathroom the shower is actually absence salts so you're getting that simultaneous absorption of magnesium.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: Really good this so should I do this in the in the nighttime shower the pm shower because it's magnesium will help me sleep Is that a better yeah, yeah, I'm a huge fan of either soaking in a magnesium.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_04]: I mean I consume magnesium as well Yeah, and less less than I actually did like
- 13:47[SPEAKER_04]: probably 40 sprays of magnesium all over my body, but exfoliating with an absence salt, like salt with a bit of avocado oil is such a great hack, especially if you are in high altitude or desert climates for the full body, it's really cheap, but you're just getting the absorption of the magnesium.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_04]: So it depends what you're doing.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love this because it's kind.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: I really love a float tank.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm obsessed with them.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're really great.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: They're so good for me.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, usually when I would go to a coaching event to be coached, I would float the night before.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then at the next morning before I fly out, I'd float again because just like, you know, that's a lot of overwhelms, a lot of information, a lot of stuff for the body.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I just slept so good.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: I felt so good.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_02]: I felt so connected.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: But here in Vegas, there's none near me.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: So this feels like kind of the in-between the best of both worlds and for the people worried about the water.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: I just want to like, I know my peeps are wanting to take care of the environment.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: I know in Las Vegas 98% of all shower sink water is actually getting repurposed and reused.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: It is actually getting cycled cleaned and put back out there.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: Vegas is actually doing amazing things with reusing water.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: So don't worry.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry, like check where you are, what they're doing to make sure that we're maintaining water sources, but like you don't have to sacrifice yourself as what I was my point is there's probably a great service happening around you, too.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I do live on a small island, Vancouver Island.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_04]: So water is pretty good here.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_04]: However, there's things that get added to the water to purify it.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_04]: and like pharmaceuticals that enter the water supply too.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_04]: So I am a huge fan of drinking filtered water and also showering with filtered water and I have a shower head recommendation actually on my biohacking page that you can just easily install too.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: We just did that this year because it is a hard water here and I could tell.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: And we got, oh my gosh, it changed everything.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: And now I'm my poor guests, I've got to do one for them.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know you gotta do it.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: So these are little things.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: So we don't think about, you know, like you don't think about the water that's coming on your skin and it and you could be doing all these amazing things and then you could be reversing it a little bit with the water.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and people people always ask me like, you know about skin care and rejuvenation is like, yes, those are all important.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_04]: But it's these little nuanced layers that are either going to relax your nervous system.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_04]: perspective.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_04]: So really good dialed in Rejuvenation, skin care, routine is not only going to be just what you put on your skin.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_04]: It's literally actually how you completely move through life.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_04]: And one other thing I want to talk about is just using that apps and salts like pick up some apps and salt from your local pharmacy or chemist that doesn't have anything else out of to it and just put like grab some of those salt.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_04]: And I like to put that avocado oil all over my body like in the bath or shower and then just use that it's better in the shower so that you don't have the avocado oil like in your tub.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_04]: And then just grab handfuls of that salt and go over the body.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_04]: So it's similar to say dry brushing.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_04]: Dry brushing isn't something that I'm really on board with the main benefits of dry brushing is actually for micro circulation limp and the nervous system.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: But a magnesium scrub, I think is going to be accomplishing something similar while you're simultaneously iterating with that avocado oil, exfoliating with the absence of magnesium flakes and your absorbing some of that magnesium.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_04]: So I just think it's a little bit more efficient.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, because I mean, like, you know, I have a dry brush and I have used it for like the circulation and like type of a thing, but because it's so dry here, it actually is not pleasant for me, like as except for like when I'm in a place to click more like lay a little more humid it feels nice here.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, okay, we're just dry on dry.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I like what you're saying.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: I do think my housekeeper and Brad are going to start to wonder why the kitchen is now in the bathroom But I'm all in also Can we just like shout out to like how affordable this thing is because I think sometimes we start to think about like Think here of our skin.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: I've all of a sudden everything is like $75 a thousand dollars So this is avocado whales not the cheapest whale, but like it's also not like myosia Exfoliant salt scrub is like 60 bucks last month.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: This is gonna
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: an absent-salt bag is huge, and then I think that I can make this last longer.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: I love this.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I've seen lots of scrubs on the market over the years, including like coffee grounds, scrubs, and that is a mess.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know, I don't think I need coffee grounds get ever.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's like glitter.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the ups and downs.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, do that, have some in the top, take a bath with the to finish things off.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, you're going to want to clean out your tub afterwards.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_04]: I just found that the avocado oil worked a little bit better than olive oil.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_04]: Not to mention a lot of olive oils or like, and avocado oils are mixture.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_04]: So you do want that single source oil.
- 19:03[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 19:04[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, for sure.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_04]: So when it comes to what I've seen in the marketplace in the medical aesthetics world for products for the body, they're just really expensive skin care in a larger bottle.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that gets too expensive.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_04]: But when it comes to doing our skincare on our face, their chest and hands, this is when I recommend getting into some more sophisticated formulations, simply because the skin on the face, their chest hands is more high-realist state area.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_04]: and also the arms depending on if you're in a climate that's warm all the time like you are lastly, you want to be cleansing, exfoliating, feeding, nourishing, and protecting that skin, all the time and just getting in that habit.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_04]: So when I'm in the bath of the shower, I'm doing my cleanser for face, neck, side of the neck, upper back, entire chest area, follow that up with the scrub.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_04]: I have a really great actually magnesium facial scrub, but you don't want to use the
- 20:07[SPEAKER_04]: Since salt on the face because those
- 20:11[SPEAKER_04]: the grid is pretty big and it's also jagged.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_04]: So it's okay for the body, but for the more delicate areas of the face, neck, and chest, we want to be using more of like a spherical particle to buff and polish some of more delicate skins.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_04]: We don't get micro terrors and things like that.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_04]: So I did just want to delineate not using that.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_04]: We were doing for the body on the more delicate areas.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_04]: And all the products that I'm mentioning are on my skin shop, too, by the way, I source that the best and also make products.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_04]: And then after you've fully rinse that all off, you want to actually go straight into your skin care and your skin hydration routine.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_04]: And I remember I have a sister who's six years older than me and for all of us here around this age group, do you remember the Cosmopolitan magazine?
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: Are you kidding?
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: I was a subscriber at a heightup, but I would love it.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_04]: I'm completely, and I remember coming across an interview with Holly Berry, and one of the tips that she shared was, as soon as she gets out of the bathroom, the shower she gets right into her hydration routine.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_04]: And that's really wise, because when you are applying your skin care without fully towel drying your face neck and chest area, and there's still some of that humidity,
- 21:37[SPEAKER_04]: going right into your skincare routine while the skin is still humid, you'll actually be able to use less product and have more of that product slip easier and be able to cover more areas.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_04]: So go straight after the bath shower, go right into say your ice serum or eye cream and then follow that up with
- 22:00[SPEAKER_04]: an antioxidants serum.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_04]: I love C60 have created an incredible C60 formula.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_04]: You know, so look at how they're on my gasset or copper peptide serums, for example, follow that up with your moisturizer and your sunscreen.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_04]: The new one is here is literally every time you are, this is going to save you a lot of time and money because we're going to talk about gouache on the product drainage here.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_04]: You don't need a gouache off stone.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_04]: You don't need a gouache off roller.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_04]: You got your hands.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I got my, my gym hands here.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_04]: collecting those weights, fruits, and the pudding.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_04]: But what's cool about our finger tips is not a machine.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_04]: It's called the bio well.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_04]: And when we put our fingers in this little box, it can actually measure the photons coming off of our fingertips.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_04]: This is called yearly on photography.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_04]: It gets mixed.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_04]: Literally, we have little lightning bolts coming off of our fingers, that can't see.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so we can put these back in to our body is what you're saying, yeah, instead of using a stone.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: We can be using our own hands.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: So now you've already saved a 60 bucks on a stone.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: Don't write a listen to that.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: We have two stones.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: We'll still use them.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, with a lot of those Guasha tools and Jade Rollers, where are they being made?
- 23:28[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_04]: They're being made overseas and some four-year-old probably made it.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: I really hope not from one company, but I, but yes, it's true.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: But I, I think like,
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think we think, oh, it's this great stone.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: This is Jay, this is Rose Quartz, Rose Quartz can be healing, but I have seen you can use your fingers.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: And as long as your hands are clean them up, and then you have moisturizer on your hands and your face, and then you can do it, it's actually, there's something, I'm sure this is why the photons on the fingertips are gonna come into play.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: There's something really calming and nurturing about it, because it's not a stone on the body, it's you on your own body, like it's like you're getting to know your own face.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's just different things you're gonna feel
- 24:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, 100%.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_04]: So if we're using a hard tool, like a gouache tool.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_04]: We kind of miss the engagement to feel what our lymph nodes are up to and that's the whole point of facial gwashing, lymphatic drainage is to open up these lymph nodes.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_04]: So say for example, you're opening up your nodes first above your clavocals and I have a whole tutorial and like how to really do it.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_04]: But we have our nodes here.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_04]: So if you palpate
- 24:44[SPEAKER_04]: And when you dig in a little bit more and you kind of get to that, oh, okay, I can feel it.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_04]: That's actually a gown really good for Vegas toning.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: And what should it feel like?
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like, because I can feel like I can feel like muscles and then I can feel some soft spots.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like, is it should it feel like juicy?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_02]: Should it feel...
- 25:07[SPEAKER_04]: You'll feel like a point of discomfort and that's actually really good for helping to tone the magister and just a little bit of gentle pressure here is going to squish the lymph in the
- 25:28[SPEAKER_04]: for lymphatic drainage on the face and the neck, it has to flow out.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_04]: So we actually need to first open up these clothecular lymph nodes.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_04]: And then with our fingers, we are applying our products at the same time.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_04]: So when you're cleansing, when you're doing your eye cream, when you're doing your serums, your moisturizer, your sunscreen, you're always going over these lymph nodes, going underneath the jawline,
- 25:53[SPEAKER_04]: And the sort of pattern I like to do is start with the nodes when you're cleansing and then when you follow up with every other staff like your serums or I cream you want to show your sense screen, we're doing these sweeping motions so circular around the eyes kind of going in a little bit with firmer pressure on the side of the nose, okay, we've been laterally.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_04]: And also, in front of your ears here, we have a big cluster of notes too.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_04]: And they'll feel like a little bit tender, but you want to make sure you're opening that up.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: Because if you're not, if you're listening to this, you can watch it on the YouTube, because she's doing it with her.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_04]: And then one of the things that a lot of women really struggle with is tight massacres, from clenching from the more body than in tune you are with your body.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_04]: The more self mastery you have around what you're doing with your face when you're focusing on a task, when you're communicating, and a lot of us will for all the browse for.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_04]: Planch the jaw for her celebs so.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_04]: When you have a greater awareness of your body, you're not going to do these things as much, which are going to contribute to say lines.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_04]: Browse lines to the upper lip, but the master's, we want to make sure that these pretty big muscle groups are given some love, so that all of this length can drain out.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: So it feels like, correct me if I'm wrong, you just basically were saved to some time, because when we are applying our moisturizer, we can doing
- 27:31[SPEAKER_02]: the good shot techniques with our own hands.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then we're also getting to know what's going on with our own body on that day.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to really check in with ourselves.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's what a great one of because it's like I want to be doing all the right things I definitely want to like if I'm puffy or what's going on but like also like I want to have that habit and to have To not have to have the excuse to have the tool and I could be doing it myself What a nice freedom thing but also a great way to get to know yourself and get to know what you need
- 28:05[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and you're doing a, when you're doing your AM and PM's can care routine, so it's not like this additional 15 20 minute thing that you're doing because it's cute for Instagram.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_04]: Instead, take that time and do dermal rolling at home instead.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_04]: So that's not using a Jade roller with the stone.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_04]: That's actually using a tool that has little needles on it, not all dermal rollers are created equally.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_04]: I use an offer some that have been manufactured since the 90s.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_04]: Then you want to follow that up with appropriate products afterwards to get that collagen and
- 28:43[SPEAKER_04]: So it's just a better use of time and energy from using a Jade roller to a couple of nights a week doing the dermal rolling instead for more collagen.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm clearly going to the shot this shop and I'm going to stuff is dermal rolling different that I'm going to sound like an idiot is dermal rolling different than dermal belating derma belating.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what I mean?
- 29:09[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_04]: So during the planning, oh, planning, yes.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that got really popular.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_04]: I'm trained in it, but I never bother to do it.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_04]: It's just glorifying, shaving the face.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: I'm gonna do a really funny confession here.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_04]: You could pay somebody three to four hundred dollars to take a scalpel with some fancy powder on your face and then take that scalpel and shave your face off your your facial skin right off facial skin what you're removing some skin, but it's it's great for the peach that's yes.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_04]: right, and then your skin care and your makeup just goes on flawlessly after that.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_04]: Jamie, the face is huge to have a flawless, do we look, especially in when it's sunny and warm out?
- 29:56[SPEAKER_04]: And we want that glass thing into the skin right.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_04]: Take a piece of somebody three to four hundred dollars to shave your face for you or you can just do it yourself.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't have to get like a
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, how come, okay, well, these ads are really pissing me off because they make it seem like you have the special thing.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: Well, thanks, thanks to that, thank you fat.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: I know, I do see that one's with the powder and I'm like, I feel like I can see my peach buzz.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's there.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't need to have powder on to know where the peach buzz is.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_04]: So ridiculous, when I see these ads because what the heck is in that powder?
- 30:32[SPEAKER_04]: Like, is it talc?
- 30:35[SPEAKER_04]: And people are putting this powder on because they didn't kind of interesting.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_04]: but they're inhaling it.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_04]: And I pretty much guarantee that that product has not been a test that are approved for inhalation and engagement interaction with the respiratory tract.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, that's great.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: So Derma, Derma belating, Derma rolling.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: Derma plaining, and it's not the same as Derma rolling.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and then we have microblading, which is semi-permanent brown makeup or powder brown.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so Derma rolling, otherwise known as, say, micronutriling, can be done in two ways.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_04]: In the clinic, there's like a pin type of tool that's done in the clinic.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_04]: and then you can have PRP, your exosomes, or the products applied afterwards, those are again about $4 to $600 a treatment, recommended every month, and usually a package of six.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_04]: Now, you could do that, which would be the equivalent of say biohacking once a month, or living healthy once a month.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_04]: and going to somebody to tell you what to do, or do it for you on some of them.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_04]: But doesn't make a ton of sense, does it?
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right, no, it's like doing your workout one time a month.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly, so I got it.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_04]: Going to a personal trainer once a month, and not doing anything really between, except for me, it's stretching.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_04]: So, if you were to say consider doing dermal rolling, or your micronealing at home with the right tool, with the right technique, with the right products, to stabilize your skin beforehand, with that cleanser, moisture, or sensitive scrub, and then what to apply afterwards, you're getting that collagen induction.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_04]: two to five nights a week.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_04]: You're keeping those collagen enzymes activated, constantly in this state of cell renewal.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_04]: To me, that just makes a lot more sense.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_04]: And you want to mention the rollers are like 150 bucks.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_04]: If you were to, and they're going to, the ones that I have are like a two-year product, as well.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_04]: Like the last about two years, they'll just kind of dull like a reserve.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, okay.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_04]: More economical, it makes way more sense to me.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: And you can use on the face, can you use on the neck?
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, wonderful.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we can come back to that topic, but base yoga worth the time is it a thing like is it a thing?
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: Do I be making faces in front of the mirror to get my muscle?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_04]: You're asking all the right questions.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_04]: Lastly, I'm super proud of you.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I go on Instagram.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_04]: And because I'm in the skin space, my pages at Rachel Varga, official by the way.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_04]: And so I get to see all these ads that you were all seeing too, because I'm interested in skin and how I'll have the NTAJ wellness and all that, biohacking stuff too.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_04]: And I see these ads, this like before on one side of the face, and then after, of like instantly lifted.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I just got that one where she's like, watch me lift my face and she took this thing and like, her face is up and I'm like, you look like you just had a stroke.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: What did you just do it on the other bugged with her face?
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what just happened?
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that's how it's happened.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_04]: The funny thing with that is they never show both sides of the face.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_04]: before they do that demonstration.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_04]: So that person would very likely have some pre-existing facial asymmetries that with some good marketing and product placement.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my gosh, look at these more and after results comparing both sides.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_04]: That person might constantly be sleeping on this side, so they're left side and also the driving side.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_04]: That brow could just be naturally lower in another place.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_04]: The other side, the right side, that maybe they don't sleep on, they don't have as much sun damage just the way that their facial musculature is, could naturally be a couple millimeters higher.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_04]: But I always have a bit of a laugh when I see those.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_02]: my gosh.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, well, I appreciate that you're seeing the same ads as me because like, yeah, after this conversation, I'm going to get more of them.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: My phone is right here, listen in a way.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: So, okay.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: So, but so face yoga, we can save our time or it's worth doing.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_04]: I'm a huge fan of yoga for the body.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_04]: And while you're doing your yoga for the body, you're keeping your face relaxed.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_04]: right you're you're having an awareness you're maybe doing a hard pose or a hard Pilates routine like you're really there you're really present you're giving it you're all and you're doing it and you're clenching your jaw or you're biting down and bearing down or you're bringing your brows together and like focus.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_04]: In those states, this is just nervous system mastery, this is full body awareness, mind body connection, what you're doing with your face, you actually want to keep your face as relaxed as possible because that's directly tied to beauty.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_04]: That's why I mentioned the nervous system state, the more relaxed you are in that person, the FedEx state,
- 35:57[SPEAKER_04]: The more beautiful you are going to be perceived as because a sign of nervous system regulation, signs of health and vitality, that's actually what's attractive.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_04]: Even if you have signs of aging, right?
- 36:13[SPEAKER_04]: It's the way that you carry yourself.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's the way that you present yourself.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_04]: It's the how he present you are.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_04]: The facial yoga in a nutshell,
- 36:21[SPEAKER_04]: never been a huge fan of it.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_04]: And again, I've seen these before and after images of people who promote these things.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_04]: And I take one look at them.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_04]: There's especially this one more mature, an Oriental woman who does it.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_04]: And before she just had a really wide jaw, and to me, when I see that I see face lift, I see lower jaw surgery as very likely a possibility of happening, so I kind of take that into consideration that I really don't think that having that base shape gift, beat that significant, is from doing
- 37:01[SPEAKER_04]: facial yoga exercises.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_04]: Now that being said, there are some really good things that we can do with our face, which is to not go through life with your mouth open.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_04]: If we go through life with our mouth open, we actually can and we mouth breathe.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_04]: When we do that while we sleep, you're going
- 37:27[SPEAKER_04]: And actually, you can experience, we see this when we look at long-term health breathing.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_04]: They have this lower, mandible jaw recession.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that's also related to some of the scaling muscles and some of the
- 37:49[SPEAKER_04]: when the mouth is open and get tight.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_04]: Something's tight here that's resulting in that back shift of the mandible.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_04]: And so I'm here to say that.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_04]: Go through life with your lips together.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, you know, I've read that in the book, breathe from James Nester, like we are changing our faces.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like by being by mouth breathing, it's like changing the way that your cheeks are shaped and the way your cheeks will rest on your face and that you all that stuff.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you're, it's a really interesting thing.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: We have used to say, like, your ears just keep in no escape grind, but actually like the bones of your face can change your whole life depending on how you're breathing.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I believe that, well, I love that.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_02]: So that makes me happy.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: Puffy eyes.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_02]: Do I need to be taking my things out of the freezer and is that going to help me every single morning?
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: It should be my spoons.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: love this so much.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_04]: Definitely we'll talk about that because that's actually the area that the eyes and eye aging is an area of specialty I've been involved in since 2011 and in the field.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_04]: As an aesthetic nurse in Occupy will classify the morphology and my first research paper was actually on eye aging and rejuvenation algorithm.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_04]: So
- 39:05[SPEAKER_04]: This is actually totally related because when it comes to inclinic rejuvenation, we've all heard of neuromodulators.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_04]: We've heard of the brand name Botox, right?
- 39:15[SPEAKER_04]: What does that do?
- 39:16[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's injected in specific areas to relax the communication from the nerve to the muscle.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_04]: And that can create a lifting effect between the brows.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_04]: So it reduces the ability to furrow the brows.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_04]: It can allow a aerodopaper on micro droplet, a technique around the eyes to give a non-surgical eyelid to relax this circular muscle around the eyes.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_04]: It's like a stinker when we shine to you when we smile.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_04]: it brings the brow down and we get the lines in the corners of the eyes which we call the crow's feet simply by the mechanism of the muscle fibers being like a circle around the eyes so when you're doing your eye cream and they're still cleansing to actually do a circular
- 40:10[SPEAKER_04]: oriented in the circular direction, helps with five blow two.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_04]: And even around the mouth, it's a circular muscle group.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_04]: That's why we get those perpendicular vertical lip lines, which would mean experience a little bit more than when do side sleepies going to do that drinking from straws, as well as going to contribute to that.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_04]: So here we have neuromodular treatments like Botox came on the market of the 90s and now there's lots of different versions of that that works similarly there's a cleaner version of it, which is the one that I prefer to use instead, but they relax the message of the nerve to the muscle.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_04]: and they do a great job at refining the skin, giving a little bit of like a glass you're looking to the skin.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_04]: And the funny thing is, they were to jawline for juvenile shape paper, too.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_04]: With the jaw holes, the jaw will, if you were to pinch your jaw will.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_04]: And then kind of move back a little bit, you can kind of towel.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_04]: There's like, there's something underneath the skin where the jaw is, it's a little thicker.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like, I can feel like this, well, like, it's, I don't, I thought I was like a muscle.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_04]: Like this feels thick and this feels like, yeah, yeah, yeah, this is the DAO muscle.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_04]: So when we're doing this type of motion, like,
- 41:32[SPEAKER_04]: we respond to something, we flex or knock, or we're bearing down and our teeth are together, our lips are apart, and we flex the neck.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_04]: Mm.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_04]: Acting that muscle, so actually chewing gum will age your jawline faster?
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: Thank God I quit doing that in 2003.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so proud of myself.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_04]: It's also super, like, uncouth.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_04]: going through life with chewing gum.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_04]: It's not like a great look.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_02]: I also just want to say, and I want to get sidetracked from what you're telling, but I just want to say, all my plies, people who are listening, you always ask me, like, are we breathing Pilates?
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: And should we do the pulse breathing, should we mouth, exhale out through the mouth?
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: Right there, she was doing this weird thing with her, like hurt, doing tension in her cheeks.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what I don't let people breathe out their mouth.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: They have to do it in and out their nose because it keeps the jaw soft, it keeps the neck.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: Soft because we are going to grow up and people are might overuse our neck, but when they do that, that's Breathing I can't handle that progressive because it creates tension in the neck tension in the jaw and now I can to say it also is going to age you So I'm so grateful for having another reason why you shouldn't do it
- 42:48[SPEAKER_04]: I'm your person and you're intuition on that is right because you're seeing people do that.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_04]: You're seeing these muscles pop out and it's like, oh, that doesn't look very good.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_04]: It's like we're seeing more shadows and things we don't want to see.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_04]: Say, from where the jowel goes down to underneath the jawbone and into the neck, we have these muscles in the neck called the platysmobans.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_04]: And then we get these horizontal, necklace lines to the neck.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_04]: We call a tack neck.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_04]: We're looking at our phone.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody gets them pretty common even in the teens.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_04]: But the jowl muscle connects to the platizma bands.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_04]: So when I flex my neck, you'll see the platizma bands pop out in the shadowing.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_04]: We don't really want a lot of shadows on the skin.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_04]: We want smooth looking skin, like we want it soft in the crow's feet and have a sharper defined jawline.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_04]: So when we chew and we do facial yoga exercises, we are working out, jaw muscles, talking, saying things like that.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_04]: So exactly what you're saying, of keeping that jawline and the neck relax, it's also going to be really good to do that self massage on the neck to release those
- 44:23[SPEAKER_04]: So we do want to have this awareness of actually keeping our face and our neck and our shoulders relaxed.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_04]: So again, nervous system, mastery, does help you be more beautiful and being in body with what is going on with your body.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_04]: Where are you carrying your tension and you need to let it go.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_04]: So that's getting into the deeper emotional intelligence side of things, but the plot is instructing absolutely critical for keeping this fascia limber and lubricated and softened.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_04]: So that's structurally why we don't want to be doing facial yoga because these muscles say to the jaws, get worked out all the time anyways, just in your life.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, neuromodulators are off label into the jawline here.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_04]: I wrote a paper on it's like talk about it.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_04]: When you don't work out a muscle, it shrinks and we won't feel like it's bigger.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_04]: So we can actually shrink that.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so in that's like that goes to the, you can do things for the puffy eyes or for the jails what you're saying.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: With that's a little extra thing that's coming in for treatments with the neural modulators.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_02]: Not up, we didn't hear talking about it, but not a bow talk necessarily, but the cleaner one.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, and I'm happy to discuss that more and like a one-on-one session because not everything is great for everybody, especially if there's some autoimmune stuff going on high levels of inflammation, Rejuvenation is not for everybody.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but there is one other muscle group going to talk about in the lower face area and that's the chin.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_04]: We can also carry tension in the chin.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_04]: And when we pout out our lower lip, we can see the appearance of more dimples.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_04]: So like that orange peel chin, we think it's pores, large pores, but it's actually just that constant contraction of chin muscle that can lead to that a textural change over time as we age.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_04]: So again, just having that awareness, lips together, jaw relax, nose breathing,
- 46:35[SPEAKER_04]: We have our nasal cavities which have little hairs and I rate and provide humidity to the air before it enters our lungs.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_04]: So no breathing is way better than mouth breathing, mouth breathing terrible for your oral microbiome too.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: Cool stuff.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this conversation so fun.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like if you've got nothing, if you're like, I don't want to buy anything, ladies.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: If you could just keep your face relaxed.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: And enjoy a nice hour where you watch your face.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think with your, you're like, you could think that's a lot right there.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_02]: But I also just feel like they're empowered in like all the different things we can do for into aging, but also for in for self care that doesn't require going to do things.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's like the options that we have and we have the tools are at our fingertips.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_04]: literally.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_04]: What this is is it's just adding intentional layers to all that you do something in light that can seem really simple.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_04]: There's a complexity to it.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_04]: That's like the beauty of life.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to miss what you asked about puppy eyes because that's the number one question I get is, there's a little way to do about these dark under eye circles or eye bags.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_04]: And the area around the eyes, it's better than as an egg shell, and it's the first air face to show signs of aging.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_04]: And what I don't want you all to do is go get to your trough filler, because I just started to see huge issues after that.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_04]: It was
- 48:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it got very popular around that time.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_04]: And because I come from ocular plastics, when people had lymphatic drainage from polyureonic acid filler in the lower eyelid, guess where they would call it, they called me to fix it.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_04]: So I wrote a paper of, okay, what can we do to rejuvenate the eyes that these are gonna give random puffiness or lymphatic drainage a month later, nine months later, nine years later.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_04]: I don't do any territorial fillers for my clients.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_04]: It's not worth the risk, because there's other things we can do instead.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_04]: So your skincare, focusing on collagen through dermal rolling, maybe some lasers, relaxing the muscles around the eyes, and even to the side of the nose here.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_04]: So when I scrunch my nose, say, if I'm smiling, we have a nasalis levator muscle that picks up the mid-face.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_04]: It can contribute to the lower eyelid bunching in those horizontal eyelid lines.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_04]: So again, another muscle group that can be softened and just have an awareness of.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_04]: So when you react, you're not, yes, starlings, that's going to contribute to contraction and stretching a lower eyelid skin.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_04]: But it's really thickening up that skin is going to be helpful.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe some filler into the cheeks to support the lower eyelid content and also surgery.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_04]: going to be what's
- 49:41[SPEAKER_04]: going to move any little fat pockets in the world.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I had, I had a doctor say.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, your situation is a fat pocket.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I have to remove it.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, I don't want to believe that I want to believe that I have an allergy.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_02]: I could just figure out what the allergy is.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_02]: It'll just go away.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_02]: But I think, here we are, 20 years later, and it's still there.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's probably just a little fat pocket.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_04]: But that's a little bit of a fat part that's better than having you hollow-looking eyes.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_04]: Right?
- 50:12[SPEAKER_04]: So that's a surgical situation and it's picking up that skin.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe reorient some of the fat that's in the lower eyelid area and continue skin care and sunscreen is helpful.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_02]: As always, so many great tips.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_02]: I just really feel like, I mean, clearly you're so knowledgeable, but also you're pragmatic.
