- 0:19Speaker 3: It's off the Bench, all right, all right, welcome back
- 0:43Speaker 3: in Off the Bench Thursday Morning, Marler Special Guests on
- 0:50Speaker 3: the Coast. Here a laundra frushing it frushing the rom
- 0:53Speaker 3: con teon today.
- 0:55Speaker 4: If there's one thing I know, it's wrong cons.
- 0:57Speaker 5: I'm looking forward to that. That playlist okay today? Yeah,
- 1:01Speaker 5: you're like, okay, now, I gotta do it. Luke.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Now, y'all have asked me for a playlist like three
- 1:06Speaker 4: times in the past two weeks and I've not done
- 1:08Speaker 4: one of them.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Well, yeah, but it's coming. It's coming for sure. What
- 1:15Speaker 3: was the question, how are we doing in the in
- 1:18Speaker 3: the chair today? That's your first time like alone in
- 1:21Speaker 3: the chair?
- 1:21Speaker 6: Yeah, you're never alone.
- 1:23Speaker 5: How's it going? Let's go. I had one mess up
- 1:25Speaker 5: cut the cup of stream just completely. Well I blame that,
- 1:28Speaker 5: not not on you. I blame that on YouTube.
- 1:29Speaker 6: Not yet. I didn't like my angle in that picture anyway,
- 1:31Speaker 6: So I appreciate.
- 1:32Speaker 3: That I had your back on that one, but you
- 1:34Speaker 3: just outed yourself. It's definitely YouTube's fault. They don't really
- 1:39Speaker 3: know what they're doing.
- 1:40Speaker 6: You gotta do the updates.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Yeah after, Yeah, this happened.
- 1:44Speaker 6: All right, we are we kicking off the third hour
- 1:46Speaker 6: with that actual set. I'm awake. Now are we doing it?
- 1:48Speaker 5: Just now?
- 1:49Speaker 6: How many?
- 1:49Speaker 5: How many?
- 1:49Speaker 6: I mean?
- 1:50Speaker 5: Okay, I don't know if miligram check. Yeah, just quick.
- 1:53Speaker 6: We're at about eight sixty eight sixty. That's crazy, it's
- 1:58Speaker 6: not really, it's like six sixty.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Will we get to a comma by the end of
- 2:01Speaker 3: the show. We'll find out. So stick with us.
- 2:05Speaker 6: Yesterday, what are you shame you get into a comma?
- 2:09Speaker 6: Seems pretty crazy? And I was like, he's gonna say no,
- 2:11Speaker 6: He's like, yeah, that is crazy.
- 2:13Speaker 5: Okay, Oh you talking about the medical doctor that was
- 2:15Speaker 5: on the show.
- 2:16Speaker 6: The doctor lawyer over here.
- 2:18Speaker 5: They know, I don't know.
- 2:20Speaker 6: Let's do this. This is this is a great idea
- 2:23Speaker 6: for Milandra.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Okay, so sec let's talk a little.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Okay, So we are and I guess now under a
- 2:30Speaker 3: week until training camps start in most most schools, so
- 2:35Speaker 3: a lot of expectations come with a lot of teams,
- 2:37Speaker 3: A lot of a lot of teams that don't have
- 2:40Speaker 3: many expectations at all. So there's many new head coaches
- 2:44Speaker 3: or first year head coaches at least at that school
- 2:46Speaker 3: this year, some first time head coaches ever in the SEC.
- 2:50Speaker 3: So there is we kind of want to discuss and
- 2:55Speaker 3: who do we think is the team that's going to
- 2:59Speaker 3: exceed at expectations and also a team that we don't
- 3:03Speaker 3: think is going to get anywhere close to meeting expectations
- 3:06Speaker 3: going into the season. And Marlo, I know that you
- 3:09Speaker 3: huge fan of Alabama. I know that you are locked
- 3:13Speaker 3: on Cocks all the time.
- 3:15Speaker 6: I will not have either of those teams, and.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I know that you you were very well like NFL
- 3:20Speaker 3: is not really a thing really, it's college football and
- 3:23Speaker 3: mainly SEC. So I'm very interested. Do you hear certainly
- 3:26Speaker 3: your opinion, Andre I definitely want to hear yours, and
- 3:28Speaker 3: I'm going to formulate mine as well.
- 3:30Speaker 6: Okay, so you're going to formulate it form cause this
- 3:34Speaker 6: was your This is a great.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Idea, So I guess my I like idea, whatever my
- 3:40Speaker 4: thought process behind it was like, there's a bunch of
- 3:42Speaker 4: new coaches in the SEC, so I'm like some of
- 3:44Speaker 4: them are not going to live up to expectations that
- 3:47Speaker 4: the fan base has, and now that like we're putting
- 3:49Speaker 4: expectation behind it. I'm not sure the pick that I
- 3:51Speaker 4: think is going to fail would be like living up
- 3:53Speaker 4: because I don't think there's a lot of expectations for him.
- 3:56Speaker 4: But I do think that there's other coaches that are
- 4:00Speaker 4: coming into the SEC and I think that they're actually
- 4:02Speaker 4: kind of set up to be kind of successful, especially
- 4:05Speaker 4: given like their predecessor. Yeah, so like, for example, I
- 4:10Speaker 4: think Auburn is actually an Alex Golish are set up
- 4:14Speaker 4: to have a successful season. Like he's bringing his quarterback
- 4:17Speaker 4: that he had at South Florida had it, so they're
- 4:20Speaker 4: familiar with like the offense that he's going to be running.
- 4:23Speaker 4: And I think, like Hugh Freeze just was so not
- 4:26Speaker 4: good that anything that's not last season and a season before,
- 4:31Speaker 4: the Auburn fan base is going to be happy about
- 4:34Speaker 4: the direction that Alex Golish is going in. And I
- 4:37Speaker 4: haven't looked at their schedule yet, so I'm not sure
- 4:39Speaker 4: how complicated.
- 4:40Speaker 6: Okay, run it up for you. Oh, it's a great
- 4:42Speaker 6: it's to add to your point. Yeah, do you mean
- 4:44Speaker 6: to tell you?
- 4:45Speaker 3: Yes?
- 4:45Speaker 6: Okay, open a Baylor in Atlanta, Okay, which they get
- 4:48Speaker 6: like a six million dollar I don't know payday for
- 4:51Speaker 6: that for not doing that in auburns they played at
- 4:53Speaker 6: Baylor last year. Okay, Southern Miss at home, Florida at home,
- 4:57Speaker 6: big game there. Yeah, uh, Vandy at home. I've said
- 5:00Speaker 6: this forever. You have more Auburn fans in Atlanta than
- 5:02Speaker 6: you do Auburn. You basically have four not really but
- 5:05Speaker 6: like living there. I just not like Alburn. You're like
- 5:08Speaker 6: four basically four home games to start the year. Then
- 5:11Speaker 6: you go at Tennessee, bye week, at Georgia, LSU at
- 5:15Speaker 6: home at All Miss. That's their toughest stretch.
- 5:18Speaker 4: I was gonna say, that's that three games. We talk
- 5:19Speaker 4: about the three game stretch all the time. That's the
- 5:22Speaker 4: one for Auburn.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Arkansas at Mississippi State, Sanford at Bama. Okay, they are
- 5:28Speaker 6: going to close with three out of four wins at least.
- 5:29Speaker 6: I think, Yeah, don't let them get an eight and four,
- 5:32Speaker 6: seven and four Alabama team. That's like reeling because they
- 5:34Speaker 6: don't have a chance to get anything through this season.
- 5:37Speaker 6: I think they start out four to no. I think
- 5:40Speaker 6: they lose three of the four in the middle.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Yes, I can go eight in four, yeah, which will
- 5:44Speaker 4: be like an upgrade from what Hugh Freeze was had
- 5:48Speaker 4: them on. So I think that, like, just given how
- 5:50Speaker 4: bad the situation at Auburn has been, Alex Golish will
- 5:54Speaker 4: bring like some consistency at least to Auburn.
- 5:57Speaker 6: I think he gets it. And then what's asking about Auburn?
- 6:00Speaker 6: They came out the blue chip ratio yesterday. I meant
- 6:04Speaker 6: to send this to you both. What's fasting about Auburn
- 6:06Speaker 6: is if you if you keep up with like recruiting,
- 6:08Speaker 6: and it's not as important as it used to be,
- 6:09Speaker 6: right because you just be like, hey, listen, if you're
- 6:11Speaker 6: not over fifty percent blue chip ratio, which is four
- 6:14Speaker 6: and five star recruits out of high school, it does
- 6:16Speaker 6: not count which you are ranked to the portal just
- 6:17Speaker 6: out of high school. But for from twenty eleven to
- 6:20Speaker 6: twenty twenty four, almost every single national champion was over
- 6:24Speaker 6: fifty percent. I think all but two or over sixty
- 6:27Speaker 6: one percent of their roster blue chip. Last year Alburn's
- 6:30Speaker 6: was sixty one percent and this year it is thirty
- 6:34Speaker 6: one percent. Oh wow. They brought so many guys within
- 6:36Speaker 6: that from like the you know, G six level all
- 6:38Speaker 6: that kind of stuff, Like Byron Brown's a top fifteen
- 6:40Speaker 6: player in the portal, but he's not a four or
- 6:42Speaker 6: five star blue chip recruit out of high school, so
- 6:44Speaker 6: they wouldn't count. Indiana also bucked that trend very aggressively
- 6:49Speaker 6: last year. They had an eight percent blue hip ratio.
- 6:52Speaker 6: But I'm with you on Alex Golish. I think even
- 6:54Speaker 6: with like getting your blue chip ratio cut in half,
- 6:57Speaker 6: that schedule was set up for success. I think they're
- 7:00Speaker 6: gonna be much better than people think.
- 7:02Speaker 5: I think so too.
- 7:03Speaker 6: Great call.
- 7:04Speaker 5: And also like a clip of Alex Goulish after the
- 7:07Speaker 5: game postgame last year where Tom Herman, Yeah, Tom Herman,
- 7:12Speaker 5: he completely big dogged him. Yeah, it was great.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I don't remember break I think I remember watching that
- 7:17Speaker 3: game live. I don't remember what the story was, but
- 7:19Speaker 3: obviously Tom Herman did something. Alex Skulish didn't like it,
- 7:23Speaker 3: or maybe he Golis was just instigating her.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Does he say that?
- 7:29Speaker 6: Yeah, Oh yeah, great call. As much as I hate Auburn,
- 7:34Speaker 6: that's a great call.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Nailed it that.
- 7:37Speaker 3: They were kind of who I was talking about last year.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Obviously I picked the wrong year, but I agree with you.
- 7:44Speaker 3: They I mean, obviously that place is a hard place
- 7:46Speaker 3: to play. They played in the SEC, so there's gonna
- 7:49Speaker 3: be games. I mean, a successful season for a lot
- 7:52Speaker 3: of the teams, and you could probably say every team
- 7:55Speaker 3: in the SEC, a successful season all comes down to
- 7:58Speaker 3: a drive in three one dry one or two drives
- 8:01Speaker 3: in three or four games.
- 8:02Speaker 5: That's the difference. It's a razor's edge in the SEC
- 8:04Speaker 5: A lot of times. That's it.
- 8:07Speaker 6: I can't hear a razor without laughing. Now, Andandre, let
- 8:10Speaker 6: me follow up with you on this one. Okay, we
- 8:12Speaker 6: talked about the four games in the middle, and I'll
- 8:14Speaker 6: throw in Bama at the end. But if these four
- 8:17Speaker 6: are these five games, which one do you think they
- 8:18Speaker 6: have the best chance of winning? At Tennessee, at Georgia,
- 8:23Speaker 6: LSU at home We're gonna be very hung over for
- 8:26Speaker 6: that day of the wedding at ole Miss, and then
- 8:30Speaker 6: close at Bama.
- 8:31Speaker 4: So maybe a hot take. I don't know what Tennessee
- 8:35Speaker 4: is gonna look like this season. I don't like I'm
- 8:37Speaker 4: very unsure about them. I think Tennessee is maybe the
- 8:40Speaker 4: one out of those games that you gave me that
- 8:42Speaker 4: they can walk away with a win.
- 8:44Speaker 6: Like you're nailing this because that's the week after they
- 8:46Speaker 6: played Texas at Hume. Yeah, and they're still early in
- 8:48Speaker 6: the year with a with a brand new I mean,
- 8:50Speaker 6: Auburn could be undefeated in that game. That Auburn four
- 8:53Speaker 6: year is gonna be huge for a first year coach. Yeah,
- 8:56Speaker 6: that's gonna be big for the.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I hope they just don't overlook the Baylor game. That's
- 9:01Speaker 3: not a joke. Oh that's real.
- 9:03Speaker 6: J Lackway. He was intercepted in the middle of this segment.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Okay, Auburn still might begin intercepted from last year.
- 9:08Speaker 6: That's all right, now, God, you Freeze was so bad.
- 9:12Speaker 5: So, like, I don't think they can overlook anybody. But
- 9:14Speaker 5: if I if I'm picking out of those games you
- 9:16Speaker 5: just you just listed, I'm picking Alabama because no matter
- 9:20Speaker 5: how good anybody is, that game is always fifty to fifty.
- 9:23Speaker 5: So it's at Bama.
- 9:25Speaker 6: Okay, relax, they've only lost their one time. Okay, you
- 9:32Speaker 6: want to go Teamy thinks in over all, right, I
- 9:36Speaker 6: think I would have a couple, but I'm not going
- 9:38Speaker 6: to say all of them, not gonna say South Carolina.
- 9:42Speaker 6: I think Tennessee is going to be better than people
- 9:44Speaker 6: think because of the hypel first year quarterback situation.
- 9:47Speaker 3: The season over under win total from Vegas it's seven
- 9:51Speaker 3: and a half games.
- 9:52Speaker 6: I think they're right around that at eight and four
- 9:54Speaker 6: to nine and three. I could easily see that. And
- 9:58Speaker 6: they also have a favorable schedule with a lot of
- 10:00Speaker 6: they're big games at home. They get BAM at home,
- 10:01Speaker 6: they get Texas at home, they get LSU at home.
- 10:03Speaker 6: Their biggest road game is South Carolina and A and M,
- 10:07Speaker 6: which I think they will lose at least one of those.
- 10:09Speaker 6: The team that I don't understand what Vegas is seeing
- 10:13Speaker 6: here is Oklahoma. The schedule is not as bad as
- 10:19Speaker 6: people think. I don't think Michigan's gonna be very good.
- 10:22Speaker 6: I don't think they're physical enough to compete with Oklahoma.
- 10:24Speaker 6: It's at Michigan, but that's not even like a super
- 10:26Speaker 6: loud station. To your point, they're over under a seven
- 10:28Speaker 6: and a half, right, I think they're going to go
- 10:30Speaker 6: ten to two. I think they lose to Texas. I
- 10:32Speaker 6: think they lose to Georgia. It's now. What's difficult about
- 10:35Speaker 6: their schedule is that they get eight games in a
- 10:38Speaker 6: row to close out the season. They are among three
- 10:40Speaker 6: teams in the league that have the earliest bye weeks,
- 10:43Speaker 6: which is in Week five, it's them Texas and ole Miss.
- 10:47Speaker 6: But Oklahoma has Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina. They're at Florida,
- 10:55Speaker 6: they get Ole Miss and A and M at home.
- 10:56Speaker 6: They close the Missouri. They have the best defensive line
- 10:59Speaker 6: in conference, hands down. The defense is always gonna be
- 11:03Speaker 6: got undefendables. You get year three as a starter for Jometier.
- 11:06Speaker 6: You're two in the SEC. Also the continuity standpoint of that,
- 11:09Speaker 6: where you have Matier and his oc R Buckle, they
- 11:13Speaker 6: are going to be in year three together, you're two
- 11:16Speaker 6: at Oklahoma. But more importantly, they're finally going to be healthy,
- 11:19Speaker 6: which has been their biggest detriment the past two years.
- 11:21Speaker 6: Like the offensive line. They lost their top six receivers
- 11:24Speaker 6: in twenty twenty four, their top six, and they came
- 11:29Speaker 6: in I think last year. I think this year they
- 11:30Speaker 6: have six offensive linemen that have at least six starts,
- 11:33Speaker 6: which from like a math standpoint, I don't really get.
- 11:36Speaker 6: But I mean also I think they're going to be
- 11:38Speaker 6: a lot better this year than they were at least
- 11:43Speaker 6: two seasons ago. I think it's gonna be hard to
- 11:44Speaker 6: be ten to make the playoff again. But I think
- 11:46Speaker 6: they're gonna be able to do.
- 11:47Speaker 5: It all right, So overachievers. It's hard to say Oklahoma's
- 11:54Speaker 5: over achievings that made playoffs last year, but I agree,
- 11:56Speaker 5: like until last week, and I think everybody started talking
- 11:59Speaker 5: about them as media days like it's or two weeks ago.
- 12:03Speaker 5: They are. I think they are going to be dangerous.
- 12:07Speaker 5: I think they are going to have a great season.
- 12:09Speaker 5: I think my tears is going to be back in
- 12:10Speaker 5: the Heisman running Okay and they are going to be
- 12:14Speaker 5: I think probably I don't know one of five or
- 12:19Speaker 5: six teams that have a real shot at a Natty. Really.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Yeah, they said there ten and two seven and has
- 12:28Speaker 3: a weird number.
- 12:29Speaker 5: I don't know. I would I gotta assume that number
- 12:33Speaker 5: is going to go up.
- 12:34Speaker 6: I mean you would think so yeah.
- 12:36Speaker 3: You would think so so to overachieve. And I'm kind
- 12:40Speaker 3: of basing this off of, you know, the Vegas win total.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I was gonna go I was gonna talk about Oklahoma
- 12:45Speaker 3: beause I've talked about them ever since SEC media days.
- 12:50Speaker 3: It's kind of like, hurt me to do this a
- 12:52Speaker 3: little bit.
- 12:52Speaker 6: Oh, it's gonna hurt Florida.
- 12:54Speaker 5: It's gonna hurt my feeling. I'm not gonna say Florida.
- 12:57Speaker 5: It's gonna hurt my feelings a little bit. It kind
- 12:59Speaker 5: of goes against every thing I stand for. So a
- 13:02Speaker 5: picotine that's not in the sec. I'm gonna say, Missouri.
- 13:07Speaker 5: I think Eli drink Witz is a is a really
- 13:09Speaker 5: good head coach.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think you know, a lot of people
- 13:12Speaker 3: for LSU didn't think he was a fit here, which
- 13:14Speaker 3: I understand, but I think he's a very good hey coach.
- 13:17Speaker 3: He brings in Austin Simmons to take over the quarterback duties,
- 13:20Speaker 3: who won the starting battle against Trinidad Chamblis. I get it,
- 13:25Speaker 3: nobody knew who Trinidad was, but ended up being the
- 13:27Speaker 3: best quarterback or second best quarterback in college football last
- 13:30Speaker 3: year and the best quarterback in college football going into
- 13:33Speaker 3: this season. And he was the starter for the first
- 13:36Speaker 3: couple of games before him.
- 13:37Speaker 6: So it's also like nineteen he came into college. Yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 6: I want to say he committed at sixteen because he
- 13:42Speaker 6: graduated very early.
- 13:44Speaker 5: Yep.
- 13:45Speaker 3: And so I know they I know they have lost
- 13:46Speaker 3: a lot, but their season win total six and a half.
- 13:49Speaker 3: I'm looking at their schedule. They start Arkansas Pine Bluff,
- 13:53Speaker 3: at Kansas and then at home against Troy, then at
- 13:56Speaker 3: Mississippi State. Then they have Florida and Texas A and
- 13:59Speaker 3: M both at home. Then they travel on the road
- 14:01Speaker 3: to ole Miss, then to Arkansas at home versus Texas,
- 14:05Speaker 3: on the road against Georgia. But then they are at
- 14:08Speaker 3: home against Kentucky and at home against Oklahoma.
- 14:11Speaker 6: So it's a brutal close.
- 14:12Speaker 5: It's a it's a brutal close to the year.
- 14:14Speaker 3: But I see, I got to think they are going
- 14:18Speaker 3: to win one of the games against Florida, Ole Miss,
- 14:24Speaker 3: I mean, not Texas, not Georgia, not Oklahoma. But they're
- 14:28Speaker 3: gonna win one, probably though they're not supposed to. And
- 14:30Speaker 3: I think they're going to get to that over win total.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I think probably seven ish seven to eight wins. But
- 14:35Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:36Speaker 5: I think it's tough. I think Eli is good. It
- 14:37Speaker 5: is tough to win there.
- 14:38Speaker 6: It's like it's so sleepy.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Yeah, but I feel like he's always kind of over
- 14:41Speaker 3: overachieved a little bit. Maybe not always. I'm sure someone's like, oh, well,
- 14:44Speaker 3: what twenty twenty four. I don't know.
- 14:46Speaker 5: I don't just picking a year. Somebody's gonna fact check
- 14:48Speaker 5: me out.
- 14:48Speaker 3: But I feel like he's a good coach and that
- 14:50Speaker 3: program has overachieved and saying like when they got to
- 14:53Speaker 3: the SEC, I was like, these guys are just going
- 14:54Speaker 3: to get blown out of the water.
- 14:56Speaker 6: When the SEC they lost their top in twenty twelve,
- 14:59Speaker 6: they lost their top six offensive linemen. This is not
- 15:01Speaker 6: a joke. They were riding around. They had staff riding
- 15:04Speaker 6: around the campus on golf carts trying to find able
- 15:08Speaker 6: bodies that could play offensive line in practice.
- 15:11Speaker 5: I got.
- 15:13Speaker 6: The thing I love about Missou is that not only
- 15:16Speaker 6: did they have a lot Hearty even though he's coming back,
- 15:17Speaker 6: I don't think he'soo medically cleared, but you have Jamal
- 15:20Speaker 6: Roberts behind him, who was third in the conference last
- 15:22Speaker 6: year in yards for carry at over six yards per carry.
- 15:25Speaker 6: But the only thing that concerns me about them because
- 15:27Speaker 6: they're going to run the blank out of the football
- 15:30Speaker 6: they always do. You lost forty three percent of your
- 15:33Speaker 6: production for tackles, for lost in sacks. Damon Williams gone,

- 20:34Speaker 5: I mean this week.
- 20:36Speaker 6: Yeah, she's been on a great run. She's on a
- 20:38Speaker 6: Jeremy Lynn Lynn Sandy thing right now for sure.
- 20:41Speaker 5: I mean great, she's going off just because she hadn't
- 20:44Speaker 5: done anything noteworthy like up till Thursday.
- 20:46Speaker 6: This week pretty much, I do not like her on
- 20:50Speaker 6: her podcast, I'll say that big Summerhouse fan.
- 20:53Speaker 5: You don't like what.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I couldn't get into that.
- 20:56Speaker 6: Really, I couldn't get into it.
- 20:57Speaker 4: I tried too.
- 20:59Speaker 6: Many it's too many years. So many years. Yeah, I
- 21:02Speaker 6: told you well, but.
- 21:04Speaker 4: It's also like, never mind, we will get into it.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Is Love Island over.
- 21:12Speaker 4: The UK one is now, UK one is over. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 4: because remember the USA one I had already finished because
- 21:17Speaker 4: of that one ends before the.
- 21:21Speaker 6: So many people did all of those plas.
- 21:24Speaker 5: What bit of place to find love than in paradise.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Right from the world.
- 21:30Speaker 6: It was just drinking.
- 21:32Speaker 4: They don't drink what they're not allowed to drink on it.
- 21:35Speaker 4: They have like two drinks maximum.
- 21:37Speaker 6: That's not real. No, that's how they get everyone all
- 21:39Speaker 6: yasked up on The Bachelor, I don't watch the Bachelor.
- 21:42Speaker 5: That was like The Bachelor is so funny.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Because every episode they go on these like around the
- 21:47Speaker 3: world like dates and stuff are like what better place
- 21:49Speaker 3: to find love?
- 21:50Speaker 5: And then Cambodia. Yeah, like just like random countries. They're
- 21:55Speaker 5: going to these places like well, I mean fine, love
- 21:58Speaker 5: anywhere really specifically like.
- 22:00Speaker 6: Me Bogies on Twitter for me.
- 22:04Speaker 5: Very romantic place. A lot of marriages here in Batteries
- 22:08Speaker 5: started Tigerland. Tiger Land, Ye, never been.
- 22:14Speaker 6: First time going there for happy hours.
- 22:17Speaker 5: There used to be a fun night so to Monday Tuesday.
- 22:22Speaker 4: I feel like I should take Marler to friends and
- 22:24Speaker 4: just film it.
- 22:25Speaker 6: No, I can imagine me fitting in. Well there I
- 22:28Speaker 6: were my best pleated pants.
- 22:30Speaker 5: It's the pleats. I swear to the pleats. Guys.
- 22:34Speaker 6: Okay, should not be around this place ever again? Uh
- 22:38Speaker 6: what are we drinking here? Boys?
- 22:42Speaker 5: I don't know anyway, what do the college kids drink
- 22:45Speaker 5: these days?
- 22:45Speaker 4: You have buzzballs?
- 22:47Speaker 6: You see buzzballs?
- 22:49Speaker 3: All right, let's get into most overrated teams dated into
- 22:54Speaker 3: the SEC. But before we do, I want to tell
- 22:57Speaker 3: you better friends at Austria as the kids, so we're
- 23:00Speaker 3: getting close, Like I think my kids start school in
- 23:03Speaker 3: August sixth as the kids like head back to school
- 23:05Speaker 3: Oustner Health wants to remind families that a successful school
- 23:08Speaker 3: year starts with good health. That means paying attention to
- 23:11Speaker 3: more than just grades. Check in with your child's mental health,
- 23:14Speaker 3: encourage open conversations, and make time to connect as they
- 23:17Speaker 3: adjust to a new school year. So a few extra
- 23:20Speaker 3: minutes talking each day can make a huge difference. Healthy
- 23:22Speaker 3: habits matter. To pack, balance lunches with protein, fruits, veggies,
- 23:27Speaker 3: whole grains, and let your kids help plan meals so
- 23:30Speaker 3: they're more excited to make smart choices.
- 23:32Speaker 5: Let them help you make those meals.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Good nutrition helps support learning, energy, and focus throughout the
- 23:37Speaker 3: school day. So if your child plays sports, don't forget
- 23:40Speaker 3: an annual sports physical as well, along with proper hydration, stretching,
- 23:44Speaker 3: plenty of rest, and the right protective equipment to help
- 23:46Speaker 3: keep them healthy and performing the best all season long
- 23:49Speaker 3: and all school year long. So many Austnar Health locations
- 23:52Speaker 3: offer both primary care and pediatric services in one convenient place,
- 23:56Speaker 3: making it easier to care for the whole family. With
- 24:00Speaker 3: day appointments extended after hours an even weekend availability at
- 24:04Speaker 3: slight locations, get get in the care you need fits
- 24:06Speaker 3: more easily with your busy schedule, so go check them
- 24:08Speaker 3: out Back to school health tips or schedule and appoyments
- 24:10Speaker 3: as dot org slash of br All right, I know
- 24:17Speaker 3: you're ready, Elandra, I know you're ready to cause, like
- 24:20Speaker 3: when we do weekend Losers, winners and losers, you love
- 24:22Speaker 3: the loser.
- 24:26Speaker 5: Let's talk about SEC losers.
- 24:29Speaker 4: So I think that the loser for the year is
- 24:31Speaker 4: kind of obvious that I think, like, okay, but you
- 24:34Speaker 4: said overrated. I don't think they're rated, Like, I just
- 24:36Speaker 4: think this person is going to obviously not be successful
- 24:39Speaker 4: in the SEC. And I think that's Arkansas and Ryan Silverfield.
- 24:44Speaker 4: First of all, that picture awful or a debt, you know,
- 24:48Speaker 4: like that is major or a loss? What did you say,
- 24:51Speaker 4: tired discount tire?
- 24:53Speaker 6: Discount tire? We know customer service always comes first. Yeah,
- 24:56Speaker 6: look at the chat of him getting eaten by a
- 24:58Speaker 6: beard to dragon ice Overfield.
- 25:03Speaker 5: It's just so dope.
- 25:05Speaker 4: But I just think that it's just a weird fit.
- 25:07Speaker 4: I don't know why Arkansas. I mean, I guess he
- 25:11Speaker 4: was good at Memphis, but that's Memphis.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Or he's okay, you ever finish him with a third
- 25:15Speaker 6: in the American.
- 25:16Speaker 4: So okay, fine, fine, what no Taylor had them like
- 25:22Speaker 4: we did like a preseason ranking and Taylor had him
- 25:25Speaker 4: at like twenty five.
- 25:26Speaker 6: Memphis yeah last season, Oh, I mean yeah, they were
- 25:30Speaker 6: like eight and four. But I'm saying even in the America,
- 25:31Speaker 6: he never.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Won the American right, No, absolutely, So that's why I
- 25:35Speaker 4: just don't think he's gonna I think he's set up
- 25:37Speaker 4: for failure coming to not only the SEC, but you're
- 25:40Speaker 4: going to Arkansas, right, which is already kind of like not.
- 25:46Speaker 4: They didn't have a great season last season. I don't
- 25:49Speaker 4: know what their quarterback situation looks.
- 25:51Speaker 6: Like, do you. I'm not going to guess his name
- 25:53Speaker 6: because I will. Oh.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Is it like a what island Pacific Pacific islander name?
- 25:58Speaker 6: No?
- 25:59Speaker 4: Oh, it's just a let me look them up.
- 26:02Speaker 6: Yah, it's like a Taylor. It's like a Taylor Jackson.
- 26:05Speaker 6: Could be a player, could be a Mormon housewife. You
- 26:08Speaker 6: don't ever know. I also will tell you, while you're
- 26:11Speaker 6: looking at a K. J. Jackson kJ Jackson, isn't there
- 26:14Speaker 6: a Taylor on the team.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Taylor Green was last season.
- 26:18Speaker 6: Close uh Sam Pittman during his time there, and Arkansas
- 26:22Speaker 6: always has a brutal schedule. It's only gonna get worse.
- 26:24Speaker 6: They had they got a Utah this year and you
- 26:26Speaker 6: get nine conference games that forty seven percent of Sam
- 26:31Speaker 6: Pittman's overall games were against ranked opponents. Seventy one percent
- 26:34Speaker 6: of his losses were against ranked opponents, and I think
- 26:38Speaker 6: like sixty something percent of his his overall loss fifty something,
- 26:43Speaker 6: it's over fifty percent were by one score or less.
- 26:45Speaker 6: It's a very hard place to win. And I thought
- 26:49Speaker 6: Pittman was great. He seemed to really buy into that
- 26:52Speaker 6: culture up there, and that's something you need. I don't
- 26:54Speaker 6: like I hate Ryan Well and also I hate them
- 26:57Speaker 6: I do. I don't know why.
- 26:59Speaker 4: But also like you're losing the guy that was hiding
- 27:02Speaker 4: all of the other deficiencies that you had, right, like
- 27:05Speaker 4: Taylor green Is. He was good for the situation that
- 27:10Speaker 4: he was put in, right, and so you're losing that guy.
- 27:13Speaker 4: He was covering up a lot of your mistakes. And
- 27:15Speaker 4: I think their schedule is a little tough too.
- 27:17Speaker 6: Always Yeah, every year the schedule comes out and it's
- 27:20Speaker 6: like what did Arkansas?
- 27:22Speaker 4: It's basically yeah, and it's like everybody from the portal, dude.
- 27:27Speaker 6: That Utah has lost. I want to say, going into
- 27:29Speaker 6: last season, Utah had lost one game at home in
- 27:33Speaker 6: like the previous six years, maybe not counting COVID, but
- 27:36Speaker 6: it was like, like, that is a very tough place
- 27:39Speaker 6: to play out of the gates. You get them, and
- 27:41Speaker 6: then Georgia and then at A and m Tennessee at Vandy.
- 27:45Speaker 6: I don't think even that game is necessarily a win.
- 27:48Speaker 6: You got you have like the most new faces of
- 27:50Speaker 6: anybody in the conference over over, like I think it's
- 27:53Speaker 6: like sixty total players. It's I mean, I just have
- 27:58Speaker 6: a hard time believing anyone's gonna.
- 27:59Speaker 5: Want to play like.
- 28:00Speaker 4: I don't think anybody, even the fan base, was excited
- 28:02Speaker 4: about the higher No.
- 28:06Speaker 5: All right, look, I know this is something we wanted
- 28:12Speaker 5: to keep talking about, but well I know we're not
- 28:15Speaker 5: done done, but we do have chef Michael Johnson coming
- 28:18Speaker 5: on and it's time to break so we can have
- 28:20Speaker 5: my like I'm more interested in some food takes.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, than then Chris Marlen thinks is going to
- 28:27Speaker 3: be underrated. Well overrated, that's fair.
- 28:29Speaker 5: I'm just kidding. We'll get to it. We will get
- 28:31Speaker 5: to it. Maybe tomorrow, we'll see, but I hear tomorrow, yeah,
- 28:33Speaker 5: get your Oh well, we gotta talk to you about that.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Matt just texting me you're fired.
- 28:39Speaker 5: Oh that could have happened. It's so real.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Uh okay, look, get your munchies questions in the chat
- 28:47Speaker 3: or text them four four five. We got chef Michael
- 28:53Speaker 3: Johnson's head performance chef coming up after the break right
- 28:56Speaker 3: here and off the bench. Off the bench are going
- 29:00Speaker 3: to Pelican roof dot com. Pelican roof dot com as
- 29:03Speaker 3: the website of course Repelican Roofing in Louisiana. If you
- 29:07Speaker 3: need a new roof, if you need a roof repair,
- 29:09Speaker 3: well there is no better company out there to call
- 29:12Speaker 3: than Pelican Roof. They are the experts. And I will
- 29:14Speaker 3: I will say that they are the best roofing company
- 29:16Speaker 3: in all of Louisiana. I'll put that on anything. And
- 29:19Speaker 3: why it's because well, they take pride in their work
- 29:23Speaker 3: every single job.
- 29:25Speaker 5: Wait roof tell you to their website. You can see
- 29:27Speaker 5: like the galleryg you can see all the work that
- 29:28Speaker 5: they do. They do great work in the community here
- 29:30Speaker 5: in Louisiana.
- 29:31Speaker 3: They they get their veterans, give away, their moms giveaway,
- 29:33Speaker 3: or they give away free roofs. I mean they don't
- 29:35Speaker 3: have to do that, but that's things they choose to
- 29:37Speaker 3: do because they are part of the community. They are
- 29:38Speaker 3: a fabric of the community. They got offices and Lafayette
- 29:42Speaker 3: offices Baton rouge. So you don't have crews, you don't
- 29:44Speaker 3: have project managers driving across the basin. When you have
- 29:46Speaker 3: your project, they're going to dedicate a project manager to
- 29:49Speaker 3: your job and only your job until it has done
- 29:51Speaker 3: the right way, done the Pelican way. So if you
- 29:53Speaker 3: have a job to do, if you need a new roof,
- 29:55Speaker 3: make sure you're working with the best. That's Pelicanroofpelican Roof
- 29:58Speaker 3: dot com.

- 30:24Speaker 1: Weird tigers turn talkers.
- 30:27Speaker 2: This is off the bench to be shot. But why
- 30:38Speaker 2: are not you trying to speak out?
- 30:40Speaker 3: It's just banger after banger really is two thousands, no
- 30:45Speaker 3: no pun intended, sad.
- 30:47Speaker 6: Yeah, he just tears and rain coming down. Not for me,
- 30:51Speaker 6: but like people.
- 30:52Speaker 5: This is a you know, hold the coffee mug with
- 30:56Speaker 5: two hands, a shock, good call.
- 30:59Speaker 6: But of them, Yeah, OK, it's just one deer for me.
- 31:07Speaker 4: I'm watching my figure.
- 31:08Speaker 3: It's actually giggling Comoto dragon pictures of them eating deers.
- 31:12Speaker 5: I mean that's just full like it's like this whole time. Yeah,
- 31:15Speaker 5: it's like two legs he's finishing it off with just
- 31:17Speaker 5: two legs are the last part they're sticking up.
- 31:18Speaker 6: It just goes to show you never know what anyone's
- 31:20Speaker 6: doing on their computer phone. You've been right next to
- 31:22Speaker 6: me the whole time doing that weird.
- 31:24Speaker 5: I mean, like, in your defense, you can't see my screens.
- 31:27Speaker 4: I want to see your search history so bad.
- 31:29Speaker 6: God, this new phone they brought back so many things
- 31:33Speaker 6: that I deleted, and I don't like it.
- 31:34Speaker 5: I don't like it at all.
- 31:35Speaker 6: No, I got like text from twenty twenty three.
- 31:37Speaker 5: I was a dumb person to give everybody kind of
- 31:40Speaker 5: them heads up for these chefs going to voice voice.
- 31:43Speaker 3: This is probably my bad. I didn't text them earlier
- 31:45Speaker 3: and give them the heads up. I don't know if
- 31:47Speaker 3: we usually do that. I don't, But guess what they're
- 31:50Speaker 3: probably out there getting in the eighteen wheelers, delivering all
- 31:54Speaker 3: them produce, all that food, getting ready they load up.
- 31:57Speaker 3: It's training camp season, yeah, and it's not just trying
- 31:59Speaker 3: to camp for the players and the coaches, it's a
- 32:02Speaker 3: supports staff as well. But I did not have a
- 32:08Speaker 3: sports performances. We had smothered but we had we had
- 32:18Speaker 3: every we had at the Pentagon.
- 32:20Speaker 6: I remember that when I when I was like going
- 32:23Speaker 6: through that whole process, Vanderbilt was the only school that
- 32:26Speaker 6: was like, Hey, when you come on this visit, we've
- 32:29Speaker 6: got a sports nutritionist that will meet with every single
- 32:32Speaker 6: athlete that comes in here and and get you on
- 32:35Speaker 6: like a specific plan. And then I remember going to
- 32:37Speaker 6: Bama for like one of their camps and and and
- 32:40Speaker 6: it was like, you know, you know how you did that?
- 32:42Speaker 6: And they were like, yeah, we got a whole mess
- 32:44Speaker 6: of fries and ranch. It was like it was it
- 32:47Speaker 6: was could not have been more different of them. Yeah,
- 32:50Speaker 6: she's some chili on there. Boy, this is dessert.
- 32:54Speaker 3: There was so thank y'all for getting your questions. Then
- 32:57Speaker 3: in the chat, apologies for not getting them on the
- 32:59Speaker 3: line that is I'll, you know, Brendan.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Hand up.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I texted him so maybe he'll maybe.
- 33:06Speaker 5: He jumps in. But there was a question and it's like, man,
- 33:09Speaker 5: that's a good one. It's real.
- 33:11Speaker 3: It's a real thinker. Okay, this is a monkey's hashtag
- 33:15Speaker 3: munchies question. Have you ever thought about all the chefs
- 33:18Speaker 3: from hundreds of years ago that were executed due to
- 33:21Speaker 3: the royalty they cooked for dying from allergic reaction was
- 33:26Speaker 3: mistaken for poison. That's great because like nobody really knew
- 33:30Speaker 3: food allergies were a thing until you know, recently we're like,
- 33:34Speaker 3: well okay, yeah there's a reaction there.
- 33:36Speaker 5: Yeah, like just think about it. Yeah, you got this.
- 33:39Speaker 5: You got this monarch who dear possibly Yeah you feed
- 33:47Speaker 5: him Yeah, a shrimp.
- 33:49Speaker 4: I'm gonna call him real quick.
- 33:51Speaker 6: That's I don't know how you do think of that,
- 33:55Speaker 6: but it's a real thinker. That person did. That is
- 33:57Speaker 6: crazy to think about. Yeah, a lot of hair rible time,
- 34:00Speaker 6: Like I just I would not have done well in
- 34:02Speaker 6: that time.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of period of time. Yeah, I
- 34:05Speaker 3: mean throughout history until the last fifty you would have
- 34:08Speaker 3: probably done terrible.
- 34:08Speaker 6: I think I could have made nineteen twenties. I think
- 34:10Speaker 6: I could have been Okay, you could have made it.
- 34:12Speaker 5: You could have made it through Yeah, but like not well, I.
- 34:15Speaker 6: Mean like refrigeration, you're just on salt on everything.
- 34:18Speaker 5: You don't have social media post No, I do.
- 34:21Speaker 6: Love the idea.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Wait, not a big deal.
- 34:23Speaker 5: I have chef. Yeah, right, chef, we got you what.
- 34:29Speaker 6: We were worried.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Yeah, Hey, great to hear from you, chef, we appreciate it.
- 34:33Speaker 3: I know you're busy getting ready for training camp. What's
- 34:35Speaker 3: going on over there?
- 34:37Speaker 8: That's interesting. We just had a ice maker blow its
- 34:42Speaker 8: valve and blue coolant all over the place. Though it
- 34:45Speaker 8: was I was, I just I just broke free and
- 34:49Speaker 8: I'm over here like blowing his phone up.
- 34:52Speaker 5: He's got anti freeze on the floor.
- 34:55Speaker 8: We got it sorted, So you're good.
- 34:56Speaker 5: All right, good, So.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I think, chef, it's we got about a week, maybe
- 35:01Speaker 3: a little less a week than training team. I was
- 35:03Speaker 3: just telling everybody, like, it's not just training camp for
- 35:05Speaker 3: the players and the coaches, it's training camp for everybody.
- 35:08Speaker 3: You're you and your staff, your chefs are going are
- 35:12Speaker 3: getting ready to be in the thick of it. And
- 35:16Speaker 3: I know that as you and your staff they've been
- 35:18Speaker 3: You've been training, We're doing some cardio. Were getting ready
- 35:20Speaker 3: to y'all gonna be cooking up a storm.
- 35:22Speaker 8: It's like Budds training, brother, this is where we build
- 35:24Speaker 8: our team, you.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Know, uh, sharpening the knives ready?
- 35:29Speaker 7: Uh?
- 35:30Speaker 5: I do, Like, what is the so right now?
- 35:32Speaker 3: I'm assuming like this is this week, and I guess
- 35:36Speaker 3: probably maybe maybe last week as well. Probably your biggest
- 35:40Speaker 3: expenditure like you're ordering, like you are receiving a lot
- 35:43Speaker 3: of groceries right now over there.
- 35:44Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, and it's uh, there's a lot of communication,
- 35:48Speaker 8: right we just change one of our vendors to another vendor,
- 35:52Speaker 8: and so making sure that the quality and standards stay
- 35:55Speaker 8: in tax is super important for us. We've been having
- 35:57Speaker 8: that conversation for about a month five weeks, just making
- 36:01Speaker 8: sure that they're comfortable and we're comfortable with what's going on.
- 36:04Speaker 8: And it is you know, we we we're kind of
- 36:08Speaker 8: like a ship, if you will, because our storage is
- 36:12Speaker 8: limited and our space is limited. It's built quite efficiently
- 36:15Speaker 8: in that, you know, so we have to get more
- 36:18Speaker 8: orders in on a regular basis. We don't we don't
- 36:21Speaker 8: wear house a whole lot of product and that that's
- 36:23Speaker 8: that's a good thing realistically. It makes things more efficient,
- 36:27Speaker 8: but it also requires, you know, a lot of communication
- 36:30Speaker 8: between us and our vendors on when we need things,
- 36:33Speaker 8: you know, when to be here and and everybody knows,
- 36:37Speaker 8: you know, like this is the time of the year
- 36:39Speaker 8: where my eyes start getting a little bit red and
- 36:43Speaker 8: and things get strapped if things don't go properly, and.
- 36:47Speaker 3: So do you do you have one person on your
- 36:49Speaker 3: staff that is like singularly in charge of like the
- 36:52Speaker 3: procurement of food.
- 36:55Speaker 8: Aside from myself, I have a purchaser, yes, and she
- 36:59Speaker 8: is one of my suits chefs. She's she's quite sharp
- 37:01Speaker 8: about her job. She builds relationships with the with the vendors,
- 37:06Speaker 8: and that's important, right because you know you watch on TV,
- 37:09Speaker 8: you know, calling vendors and screaming and yelling at him.
- 37:12Speaker 8: That's just not the case, man, you know, like you
- 37:14Speaker 8: go kissing people off and they're going to give you
- 37:16Speaker 8: what would you give them back? Right? So exactly, that's
- 37:20Speaker 8: why we try to stay ahead of it. And her
- 37:22Speaker 8: name is Amanda, and we stay I mean, she's the
- 37:25Speaker 8: first person that when I get in, I start talking
- 37:27Speaker 8: to where are we at? How are we with saying
- 37:29Speaker 8: what's going on with this? It's a constant conversation between
- 37:33Speaker 8: she and I because making sure that the product is here,
- 37:37Speaker 8: we also have OK crapt moments, you know, so we
- 37:40Speaker 8: plan for that, especially during camp, you know, because you're
- 37:44Speaker 8: working over the weekend. We don't necessarily get deliveries over
- 37:46Speaker 8: the weekend, so we're we're housing more product than we
- 37:49Speaker 8: normally do, and so we kind of force our vendors
- 37:52Speaker 8: or ask our vendors politely with some assertiveness. You know,
- 37:57Speaker 8: can you give us five days a week? Can you
- 37:58Speaker 8: get us a sixth day if poss well on Saturday?
- 38:02Speaker 8: Still then though, you know it's it is it's a
- 38:06Speaker 8: Chinese cheeksaw puzzle. Brother. You know, it's moving product around,
- 38:09Speaker 8: keeping it because we don't buy stuff frozen very much.
- 38:12Speaker 8: You know, there's a handful of things that we buy frozen,
- 38:16Speaker 8: but we buy a lot of fresh products, and so
- 38:18Speaker 8: it just makes the challenge of storage and moving things around.
- 38:22Speaker 8: You know, if you think about it, you're constantly consuming,
- 38:24Speaker 8: constantly consuming, and so you're constantly moving. So it's it's
- 38:28Speaker 8: a challenge for sure.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Well, I'm assuming you'll go through a lot of groceries,
- 38:32Speaker 3: so I'm assuming you got a little you got a
- 38:33Speaker 3: little leverage of those vendors when you get in those
- 38:35Speaker 3: crap moments situation. So yeah, I got Let's get to
- 38:40Speaker 3: this hashtag munchies question, which side of the ball eats
- 38:43Speaker 3: more offense or defense?
- 38:46Speaker 6: Oh?
- 38:46Speaker 8: Man, I think that boils down to singular people, to
- 38:50Speaker 8: be honest with you, and I'd say both sides.
- 38:52Speaker 5: Eat healthily off defensive line.
- 38:56Speaker 8: Uh, they're they're they're very similar, to be honest with you.
- 38:59Speaker 8: You know, big body guys lots of calories. You know,
- 39:02Speaker 8: the larger human being is in bass, the more calories
- 39:07Speaker 8: they burn. To you know, if if a three hundred
- 39:12Speaker 8: and fifty pound guy it moves ten feet, they're going
- 39:15Speaker 8: to burn more calories than a two hundred pound guy
- 39:17Speaker 8: does moving ten feet. And think about that in terms
- 39:20Speaker 8: of yards and miles and such. You know, if those
- 39:23Speaker 8: guys are the bigger the body mass is, the more
- 39:26Speaker 8: they the more energy it takes to burn to get there.
- 39:29Speaker 8: So they consume a lot. You know, there's six seven
- 39:32Speaker 8: eight thousand calories and in the heat that that exacerbates
- 39:36Speaker 8: the amount of coloric burn that there is. So during
- 39:39Speaker 8: the summer and during camp, it's you know, like our
- 39:43Speaker 8: concern is not putting weight on, it's trying to keep
- 39:47Speaker 8: weight on, you know, and preventing weight loss. And that's
- 39:50Speaker 8: a big one.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Hashtag munchies. Here was going to make some rice and
- 39:56Speaker 3: gravy tonight. Do you ever cook that?
- 39:58Speaker 5: At LSU? What could of meat do use?
- 40:01Speaker 8: We do all the time. We do like chicken stews.
- 40:03Speaker 8: We do like New Orleans style stews. You know, I
- 40:07Speaker 8: mean we do it all the time. When when you
- 40:10Speaker 8: say gravy, we don't ever serve it just gravy, like
- 40:13Speaker 8: a lot of people will call a crawfish at tufea gravy. Right,
- 40:15Speaker 8: So we do ettypas we do sauta, coants, we do
- 40:21Speaker 8: you know, creoles, We do all kinds of stuff with
- 40:23Speaker 8: it because this is Louisiana and we represent that. You know,
- 40:27Speaker 8: we might use a different type of oil instead of
- 40:29Speaker 8: butter that's a little bit healthier, a little bit less
- 40:31Speaker 8: saturated bad in it, just to you know, make it
- 40:35Speaker 8: a little bit healthier. But specifically during camp, we kind
- 40:39Speaker 8: of stop worrying about those subtle nuances and more so
- 40:43Speaker 8: worry about making sure that they're eating because there is
- 40:47Speaker 8: a stress behind camp that comes along that it really
- 40:50Speaker 8: does boil down to at some point whether they're eating
- 40:52Speaker 8: or not. So you have to put comfortable foods in
- 40:54Speaker 8: front of them that that they're familiar with and that
- 40:57Speaker 8: you know they're It kind of hits close to home,
- 41:02Speaker 8: right and things that mom and dad would make for
- 41:03Speaker 8: them from from when they were growing up. And we
- 41:07Speaker 8: definitely have those conversations, what do you want to eat?
- 41:09Speaker 8: You know will make you anything, it doesn't matter. We'll
- 41:11Speaker 8: we'll cook you whatever you want. And it's not lobster tails,
- 41:14Speaker 8: you know what I mean, it's fried chicken. It's it's
- 41:18Speaker 8: the things that that stick to the bones and are
- 41:21Speaker 8: close to home, that they're meaningful to them, that they're
- 41:23Speaker 8: they're used to eating. And lots of pasta. My gosh,
- 41:27Speaker 8: we go through some pasta.
- 41:28Speaker 6: Man. That was my question. Was is it like a hey,
- 41:32Speaker 6: here's here's options every single day or is it like
- 41:34Speaker 6: are we were like, you know, we're going at a restaurant.
- 41:36Speaker 6: We are we running specials like hey, Friday is going
- 41:39Speaker 6: to be rivite Day or something like it like that.
- 41:42Speaker 8: Every meal is different. Breakfast is different from lunch, is
- 41:44Speaker 8: different from dinner. Yesterday's dinner is different from today's dinner.
- 41:48Speaker 8: It and we cycle through it. This camp, we're going
- 41:51Speaker 8: to cycle through two weeks, So for two weeks we'll
- 41:54Speaker 8: have everything different. Then we'll cycle through a third week
- 41:56Speaker 8: and a fourth week that will look like week one
- 41:59Speaker 8: and two.
- 41:59Speaker 3: We should check it out, chef, we got time for
- 42:02Speaker 3: one more quick one here. And this is a real thinker.
- 42:04Speaker 3: This one really stuck out to me as a chef.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Have you ever thought about the chefs throughout time, Medieval times,
- 42:10Speaker 3: Roman times, hundreds thousands of years ago. Ever thought about
- 42:14Speaker 3: how many chefs were executed because the royalty they were
- 42:17Speaker 3: serving had a food allergy that died and they thought
- 42:20Speaker 3: they were brother.
- 42:21Speaker 8: I have a huge affinity for historic you know, things
- 42:26Speaker 8: that are all food. And there certainly have been chefs
- 42:28Speaker 8: that have lost their heads to uh, you know, poor
- 42:31Speaker 8: performance and and uh I do actually you know, like
- 42:37Speaker 8: things haven't been always so so soft chefs, I know,
- 42:40Speaker 8: thinking about.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Serving like a young king that just totalergy, Like look
- 42:45Speaker 3: at this beautiful shrump and he dies.
- 42:47Speaker 5: You just poisoning.
- 42:49Speaker 8: Can you imagine working for Henry the eighth who was
- 42:51Speaker 8: struggling to have a male son and that boiling you know,
- 42:54Speaker 8: like he comes in and says, it's been what you're
- 42:56Speaker 8: feeding me rather than it's hurt, you know what I mean?
- 42:59Speaker 3: Like, Yeah, chef is a dangerous business. Buddy, Kudos to you.
- 43:04Speaker 3: You're one of the bravest girls.
- 43:10Speaker 5: That's good.
- 43:11Speaker 3: Well, Laine already has a son, so you don't have
- 43:12Speaker 3: to worry about That's right, Chef. We appreciate it. I
- 43:16Speaker 3: know you're working extra time right now leading up, but
- 43:19Speaker 3: we'll talk to you next week when I think training
- 43:21Speaker 3: camp will be all locked down. So uh, we appreciate
- 43:24Speaker 3: your time and salt that food baby training camp they're gonna.
- 43:27Speaker 8: Be sweating absolutely, bro.
- 43:29Speaker 3: That's right, all right, chef, appreciate it, Thanks your time,
- 43:32Speaker 3: all right. Chef Michael Johnson, head performance chef over there
- 43:34Speaker 3: at LSU. Amazing love that guy. That was one of
- 43:37Speaker 3: my favorite segments. Every single week. When we come back,
- 43:39Speaker 3: we will have Ask the Bench definitely different than Mail Bank.
