- 0:18Key Show Listen to The Times, anytime, all the Time Got TV
- 0:30Radio The Brett Key Show. Well, hello ladies and
- 1:45gentlemen. My name is Brett Keene and you
- 1:47are watching and listening to GOD TV Radio.
- 1:50I hope you're all having a wonderful day out there.
- 1:53If you would like to hear my radio station, the links are in
- 1:57the comments and I usually put an article in my description for
- 2:03those who might have hearing issues or something like that so
- 2:06you can get a better explanation of what I'm trying to say in my
- 2:10video. So you get the visual, you get
- 2:12the audio, and you get the read the narration.
- 2:17Well, I have discovered about myself long ago, I've always
- 2:23been a even whenever I was a kid and a young man, always seen
- 2:27myself as a person with common sense.
- 2:30I remember when my mother used to say, all right, let's go to
- 2:34church. And I would say, why, why?
- 2:37Why do I need to go to church for her?
- 2:39And she would say, because you're going to get closer to
- 2:42God, you'll be able to talk to God that way.
- 2:45And then I would argue with her and I'd say, well, God is
- 2:49omnipresent. He's everywhere.
- 2:50Don't really need to go anywhere.
- 2:53I can just pray in my closet. I can pray on my bed, I can pray
- 2:57in the backyard. I can even pray whenever I'm
- 3:01hanging out with my friends and all that.
- 3:05Hell, I can even do it at recess at school if I want to.
- 3:08Don't have to actually go to a a building to do that kind of
- 3:13thing. And she said, well, there's also
- 3:16fellowship. Well the problem with that is
- 3:19when you get around people who claim to believe in God, some
- 3:23people get so obsessive with their beliefs and their views
- 3:27that they start acting like their own little demigod.
- 3:32They tell you what to do, they tell you what God expects from
- 3:36you. And usually at the end of the
- 3:39day, the people that like to supervise your soul and do all
- 3:44kinds of fruit sniffing are usually, What I have discovered
- 3:49is that the most righteous people of all are usually the
- 3:53biggest sinners of all because they send so much and they
- 3:57screwed up so much in the world. Now they're absolutely aware of
- 4:02every single sin that takes place and they feel like they
- 4:05got to keep everybody else from sinning.
- 4:07And if you do make a mistake or you do something that even hints
- 4:11towards that you're about to do something, they're right there
- 4:16in your ear to tell you how you have failed or you know what you
- 4:21need to do better or whatever nugget of wisdom they want to
- 4:25give you. I got a little bit of a cold
- 4:29today, so you have to forgive me, ladies and gentlemen.
- 4:32And no one likes that. No, no one, no one likes someone
- 4:37like leaning over your shoulder and constantly playing the, the
- 4:42good cop, bad cop, the good Angel, the bad Angel, all that
- 4:46kind of stuff. And people also don't like it
- 4:49whenever they just want to sit down and talk to somebody and be
- 4:54friendly and then they've got to hear a sermon or some kind of
- 5:00big old life story from somebody they hardly know when alls
- 5:04they're trying to do is find out where the coffee machine is.
- 5:07You know, that's one thing I discovered whenever I tried to
- 5:12do church. Everybody wanted to tell me
- 5:14their life story. Everybody wanted to tell me
- 5:17their interpretation of God. Obviously it was the one way and
- 5:22every other way was wrong, even if it just happened to be
- 5:24another Christian standing 5 feet away.
- 5:29A lot of religious people do that.
- 5:31I've discovered when trying to make friends with religious
- 5:34people online, if I don't fall into their particular
- 5:40specifications of what a person ought to be or do, then they
- 5:47shun you. And when I say shun you, I mean
- 5:50they won't keep contact with you, They won't talk to you
- 5:54unless you fulfill their roles. I had that happen with many,
- 5:58many people out there. And the same people, they make
- 6:04the biggest mistakes that you could ever imagine.
- 6:06The same people, they feel like whenever they're angry or they
- 6:10do something or they, you know, shoot out their rage or whatever
- 6:17is going on in them emotionally that it's righteous.
- 6:21They always have a justification excuse for the way they behave
- 6:26with anybody else. Well, you've heard it before,
- 6:30right? You've seen these people where
- 6:33if you do something, then it's not just that it bothers them,
- 6:38but it's something that you've done directly against God
- 6:42himself. It's like if you step on their
- 6:44toe, you stepped on God's toe too.
- 6:49So I, I never really enjoyed religion.
- 6:52I never really enjoyed going to church and to be honest with
- 6:55you, I probably had lost my faith a long time ago and became
- 7:00an unbeliever, not because of God or because when I was
- 7:05praying to God I felt irritated at God himself.
- 7:09But you get irritated at being around people because people are
- 7:14the major problems in the world. People 'cause other people to
- 7:18suffer. People disappoint each other.
- 7:21People covet each other, people want things, and people like to
- 7:27control other people, whether they're political, religious or
- 7:31whatever. Atheist.
- 7:34It's always like that. It seems like whenever I stay
- 7:38away from people, I have less problems.
- 7:42If I just mind my own business and I do my own thing.
- 7:47If I don't try to engage or interact with any human being
- 7:52out there, I do just fine. There's a lot of cliches though,
- 7:56you know, I I've seen it whenever I was watching the TV
- 7:59show Young Sheldon and any of these family shows out here.
- 8:02Where parents or adults are always telling their kids that
- 8:07are busy playing a video game, they say you should get out.
- 8:11You should go out in the front yard and hang out with the
- 8:13neighbor's kid or you should go out and, you know, join one of
- 8:18these school programs or, you know, go camping, go do this, go
- 8:22do that, anything but sit alone and, and think.
- 8:28Some of the best ideas and thoughts I've ever come up with
- 8:31is whenever I'm just sitting on the toilet all by myself or I'm
- 8:34just chilling out and relaxing when there's too much crap
- 8:39coming at me, I can't think straight.
- 8:41I can't come up with some of the interesting, fascinating ideas
- 8:45or revelations that I have when I'm around people.
- 8:50So I think that's the problem. When it comes down to it, I
- 8:54think there's a lot of people that also feel the same way.
- 8:56They're tired of religion. But when you think about it and
- 9:00you cut through the ice, when you really really observe and
- 9:06take a step back, you find out it's not so much even religion
- 9:11that makes you angry or loses your faith or questions God, but
- 9:17it's people themselves. Think about it even as a non
- 9:21believer. For those out there who are
- 9:25atheist, when you used to be religious according to your own
- 9:29claims, there was never a time where whenever you prayed to
- 9:35God, when you did believe in him, where God told you that you
- 9:39were a loser or a piece of trash.
- 9:41According to you, you never even heard God, so it wasn't God's
- 9:45fault while you got angry. But if I were to ask you what
- 9:49bothered you, you would probably say that somebody who was
- 9:53religious said something stupid or somebody who was religious
- 9:58said something irritating. Or you're going to say my mother
- 10:01was religious and she was a hypocrite.
- 10:04My dad was religious, but he did bad things.
- 10:07He was either physical, mental, or emotionally wearing on your
- 10:11ass. Or perhaps you hung out with
- 10:14some friends and they did things that really broke your heart or
- 10:19bothered you. Or you just from time to time
- 10:24randomly ran into people that you thought were absolutely
- 10:27stupid, who said stupid things about God, and you decided,
- 10:33well, that's not for me. That's not what I want to do.
- 10:37So the point is, is that you didn't lose your faith over God
- 10:41himself. God didn't do anything to you
- 10:44according to your own testimony, and it's not because of
- 10:50religion, because religion itself is not a living function.
- 10:53It's simply a label that represents a group of people who
- 10:58claim to believe in the same thing, but nine times out of 10
- 11:02usually don't. I can't think of one time where
- 11:05I went to any church out there, whether it's a Pentecostal,
- 11:09Baptist, Catholic or anything, even Mormons, where I run into
- 11:15two people who think alike in any of the religions.
- 11:17Everybody's got their own interpretation and idea.
- 11:22So, yeah, at the end of the day, if if you say that you've lost
- 11:26faith or that you just don't feel like there's enough reason
- 11:30to entertain the idea that there's God, it's because all
- 11:34this time you've relied on the thoughts and views of someone
- 11:41else who is in the middle of their walk or tripping along the
- 11:45potholes on their road to wisdom and truth.
- 11:49And you ended up because you followed them, you fell into
- 11:53their potholes and they're nonsense.
- 11:55And at some point in time, you just said, you know what, I'm
- 11:59not going to go down this road anymore.
- 12:01I'm just going to pull over on the side and I will sit here on
- 12:04the side of the road in this dark forest and I'll wait for
- 12:08somebody to come along and pick me up if it's meant to happen,
- 12:13or I'll just sit here. A lot of people think like that,
- 12:19unfortunately. We know how that works in
- 12:23reality, don't we? In reality, when you pull over
- 12:33in the dark forest or you pull over on the side of the road and
- 12:37turn off the vehicle and just sit back and wait for something
- 12:41to happen, well, even a person who prays a lot can probably
- 12:45tell you. At the end of the day,
- 12:47eventually if you want to get anywhere, whether you believe in
- 12:50God or not, you're going to have to start the ignition and move
- 12:53forward. Going where?
- 12:56Well, you need a direction, you need a purpose.
- 13:00You need some place that you're willing to go, that you want to
- 13:05go. Is the direction towards truth
- 13:09or is it towards lies? Is it towards looking for
- 13:12comfort or is it looking for someone who tell you what you
- 13:17want to hear or what? And that's where I really feel
- 13:24like things are. I feel like religion offers a
- 13:28road filled with potholes and nonsense and a lot of
- 13:31aggravation. And a lot of people, they take
- 13:36it because they think eventually it's going to lead to God.
- 13:40And then you've got the non believers who pulled over on the
- 13:43side of the road and they said, Nah, I don't want to go through
- 13:46all this bullshit. I shouldn't have to go through
- 13:50all this aggravation. Where is God?
- 13:53You know, why do I have to even go in a direction?
- 13:56Why do I have to do this? And at the end of the day,
- 14:00believe it or not, it's exactly how I responded to my mother
- 14:05every time she told me let's go to church is why do I need to?
- 14:10Why do I need to move forward? Why do I need to drive
- 14:13backwards? Why do I need to take the
- 14:15highway at all? God's omnipresent if I want to
- 14:19talk to Him, He knows where I'm at and I know where He's at.
- 14:23He's everywhere. He's all around me.
- 14:25He's not behind me. God's not going to turn his
- 14:28back. Because how does something
- 14:29that's omniscient and omnipresent and all knowing turn
- 14:33its back on you or abandon you if it's always in the same
- 14:37presence with you at all times, with your soul, with your flesh,
- 14:40with your mind, with your heart, all that.
- 14:44So if you think about that, then you realize that that struggle
- 14:49that you've had alongside the road the whole time and the ones
- 14:54that are still driving, why it is you keep hitting the potholes
- 15:00is because you think God can be found somewhere.
- 15:05You think that you need to look for God, but you don't need to
- 15:08do any of that. He's already there.
- 15:11You don't need to drive. You don't need to pull over.
- 15:14You don't need to be patient and wait.
- 15:17You're going to get what God has set out for you.
- 15:22You're not going to always get what you want or what you think
- 15:26that you need. Trust me.
- 15:29There's some things that I really wanted in life, and when
- 15:31I finally got it, they didn't turn out to be what they were
- 15:35cracked up to be. Sometimes when you get what you
- 15:37want, it ain't. It causes more problems than it
- 15:41does good. And sometimes when you don't get
- 15:45things, when you finally one day get up something like it or a
- 15:50piece of it, you feel as though you appreciate it more.
- 15:56Sometimes the harder we struggle for something, the more we
- 16:01appreciate it, the more we love it and the more we take care of
- 16:04it. The same with love too.
- 16:07If everything was given to you easily and stuff, you wouldn't
- 16:10appreciate what it is that you have until it's gone.
- 16:16So I think a lot of people do that.
- 16:19Some people, especially people that have been involved for a
- 16:24long time with one another, either as a friend or a partner
- 16:28or all that. As you get older, you start not
- 16:33seeing, you start forgetting why it is that you you were with
- 16:38people or got involved with people in the 1st place.
- 16:43And if we could only go back in time, right?
- 16:48If we could only realize why we started and struggled in the
- 16:53first place. There's a lot of ways to look at
- 16:58it, I suppose. But one thing is for sure and
- 17:03one thing I realized about myself, a lot of you out there,
- 17:07you claim that you have a personal relationship.
- 17:10A lot of you claim that you go to church and you do this and
- 17:13you do that and you do that in order to strengthen your
- 17:16relationship with God. Well, God doesn't need
- 17:21strengthening. God doesn't need you always to
- 17:25be on your knees in front of your bed and and with your
- 17:29little mittens together. I think that there's just a a
- 17:34moment of where you Revere and you respect.
- 17:39There's that, right? OK, Well, ladies and gentlemen,
- 17:45I hope you got something from my views, my ideas, what I've lived
- 17:53through. And you also have to realize at
- 17:56the end of the day, whether you join a church or put yourself
- 18:00under some kind of label for religion, you're doing it even
- 18:05if you pull over on the side of the road, even if you say, well,
- 18:08I don't even want to be part of it anymore.
- 18:11Well, unfortunately, gravity has its ups and downs, right?
- 18:16Either way, you're going to be put with some group out there.
- 18:20That's the way humans pigeonhole each other.
- 18:23See, I'm going to be a part of the group that just sits on the
- 18:25side of the highway. OK, then you're part of the
- 18:30group that doesn't move forward. You're the part of the group who
- 18:34sits back and thinks that it knows enough to why it shouldn't
- 18:39turn the ignition and go anywhere.
- 18:43You become your own little religion.
- 18:45You become the the side of the road Samaritans, the side of the
- 18:49road people. And I've always thought it was
- 18:53funny to the people who do sit on the side of the road.
- 18:57They're usually the ones, while they're watching all the other
- 19:00cars pass, who somehow convince themselves that everybody else
- 19:05is foolish and that they're the ones that are the the smart
- 19:09ones. OK, whether you're moving or
- 19:14whether you're going, that doesn't depend on your wisdom
- 19:18and intelligence. It's a destination, and it's
- 19:21what you finally realize about yourself that counts.
- 19:27All right, ladies and gentlemen, God bless.
- 19:29Have a good one. I'll probably be talking about
- 19:32some other topics soon, but just wanted to fill you in on where
- 19:35I'm at nowadays. Fill you in on AM IA back seat
- 19:40driver or am I actually driving at all or am IA passenger?
- 19:57Come join the relevance. Anything intelligent?
