- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Texanville jackwars fans welcome in to do vault daily presented by Jinjak.com.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Luga.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Wednesday, April 22nd.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we are taking a look at a rumor report whatever you want to call it from Tony Pauline who's been covering the NFL draft for a very, very long time.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's just throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: If he has something to say here, there's probably some truth to it.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: Does that mean these rumors are going to happen?
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but the rumor is or report is that the Jaguar is could look to trade up for a Notre Dame running back.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: Jadarian Price, if he starts slipping on day two.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is currently have the 56 overall pick.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously also 81, 88, 100 on day two.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: They have a lot of control of day two right now.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're one day away from the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday and then day two on Friday, which would be the second, third round.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to talk about this, does it make any sense?
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Excited to get into it, because I think it's a really interesting idea.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: And Pauline also suggested that
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: if they aren't able to land your dairy and price, they could be really interested in Emmett Johnson, the running back out of Nebraska.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, we'll get into it.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.

- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that high button, helps out a ton.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: This is a fascinating report.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars, they invested at running back in Chris Rodriguez.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: This offseason, who is a, between the tackles, tough, physical runner.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: He gets yards after contact.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's an efficient runner.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's worked with Liam Cohen obviously before in college.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: It can tucky.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Good back.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: They went and got racial tuton and the fourth round last year.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: They also drafted Lee Quint Allen last year.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: They also brought back DJ Dallas.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: So they've got four running backs in their room.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to continue to try to add to that room and not only add to it, but add to it aggressively.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's the report from Tony Pauline that if Jderian price starts to slip, which we don't know what slipping means like does that mean falling into the 30s, 40s?
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: What don't know exactly?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: trading up for a running back.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: What do you have to give up to get him fascinating stuff?
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they've invested a lot of the position.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they have a group where I feel really good about that group.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: I also think like there's just so many other positions and players that I feel really good about in this second round range.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Personally, I would probably not be trading up for jadear in price.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I definitely would not do that.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Will the Jaguars do that?
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: Remains to be seen, but as we have seen since Liam Cohen and James Gladstone got here, they've been linked to a lot of running backs.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: They've been in on a lot of running backs.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: They really liked Ashton Gentie in the draft last year.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they probably would have taken him if they didn't trade up for Travis Hunter.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: They were also linked to RJ Harvey who the the Broncos took a little earlier than the Jack Wars were able to get him and then they really wanted basal toot and as well like the running back position is a position that they've clearly shown a lot of interest in.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: I just I think the one moment where they decided to pivot away from what they had with Travis ETN was
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: was about efficiency, was about vision.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, E.T.N.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: was an explosive back, who did a lot of good things for them, both in the run game and the past game, but they wanted to find more consistency in the run game, and I think they decided, well, we can find that and not pay Travis E.T.N.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: the $13 million or whatever he got from the New Orleans Saints.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Man, how just we walk is honestly if you take a running back in this draft, which I expect them to take a running back in this draft, because the Rams where James Gladstone comes from, they've always taken running back in the draft.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: They took two running backs.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars did last year and James Gladstone's first year as the Jaguars GM.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I expect them to take a running back, but not only just taking a running back on day two, but trading up for one potentially,
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: That just does not seem like it needs to be a priority in my opinion.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, it's about players.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's about landing the right players.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: And if they feel like jadarian price is that dude who's going to be able to take over their running game, make them more explosive, be a full-time starter, all that type of stuff long term, then I do get it.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I know running back is devalued,
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Taking a running back on day two of the draft maybe trading up a little bit for one maybe you have to give up pick one twenty four or one sixty four or you know whatever it may be If he's a star I get it Like it might not be what I would do
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: I want the Jaguar personally to be focused on the trenches based on what looks like it will be available in this draft.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think day two, the Jaguar should be focused on the trenches edge into your defensive line, offensive line, like that's what I would be focused on.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: but steering prices and exciting back.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now, there's a couple of things about him that need to be addressed for sure.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll start taking a look really at what he brings to the table.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: But first, got our mind y'all about underdog fantasy.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: The NBA playoffs are finally here.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: And underdog is the best place to get in on all the action.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you see my get up here today.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we checkin' out the Orlando Magic tonight.

- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Get your picks right, and you could win up to 5,000 times your cash.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm looking at Palo Bancaro on Underdog tonight, against the Detroit Pistons, going higher on 20 and a half points.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to get the job done.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Playoff Palo is going to do it for the magic in game 2.

- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: Chaps on a dog fantasy, you're supporting them, you are supporting us and we do appreciate the support.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, jadarian price.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: What does he bring?
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about like the idea of trading up for running back, taking your running back on day two again, wouldn't be my priority.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: But the jacks, Liam Cohen, James Gladstone, they have shown that they value the running back position.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: explosive with the football in his hands.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you're talking from a Liam Cohen perspective, it's very easy to see the intrigue here.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: This is a guy that averaged over four yards after contact per rush.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: throughout his career.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Four point two eight yards after contact per attempt.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: That is a stat that Liam Cohen has referenced.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: When talking about Chris Rodriguez, I think you have a runner here who can run tough between the tackles, but also be a downfield, explosive threat.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: As Liam Cohen,
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: Monday, like, what's one thing the Jaguar is wanting to do on offense?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they want to get more explosive.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: And if they think they can get a back that will help them do that, injured area in price, I could understand that.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: If you can get more explosives out of your running game, that can help out a lot.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: That can absolutely help out a lot.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: So you look at his breakaway percentage
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: was 45% on Carries this year.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now, obviously played with Jeremiah Love, was not the future back at any point at Notre Dame.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: And the other thing you have to talk about here doesn't have much of a pass-catching resume at all.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: And has shown, I'll put the ball on the ground, fumbling west.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: Three fumbles this year on 113 Carries.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars,
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Clearly, have shown that they can improve a player's ability to hold on to the football.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: You look at what they did with Bachelorette in last year.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: That was their focus when he got there and then expanding after that.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: Ball security, he was somebody that fumbled the ball a lot at Virginia Tech.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Got it cleaned up last year.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think they will view fumbling as something that they can correct, something that they can fix.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that they will look at Jeteria in price and say, there's things here you just cannot teach.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: And he's been more of a zone running back than a gap scheme, but he's done both.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think he can thrive in both.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: He is special with the ball in his hands.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's no question about it.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: Six yards per carry for his career.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: Again, 4.28 yards after contact per attempt throughout his career.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: 73 missed tackles forced on 281 career attempts.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Career breakaway percentage, 51% and the breakaway percentage here.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: literally exactly what it sounds like.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: A run where you broke away.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: You look at his long carries.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: Just this year, in 2025, per game.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: Week one, he had a 30 yard game.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: Week two, or week three, excuse me, 24 yard game, week four, 21 yard game, week five, 20 yard game, week six, 49, seven, 20 yards, week eight, 32 yards, week 10.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: did not have a very good game against Boston College.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: Long with five yards, we could love him, 12 yard long, we could 13, we could 12, 13, but we could 13, 58 yard, like the guy had a ton of long runs at Notre Dame this year.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: Played around two, 10, he comes in for his pro-day and combine lighter than that.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: He was just under 501, which I like a short running back.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: I just do, I think, being loaded the ground, being compact, gives you that natural leverage, gives you some better contact balance.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: So that part, for sure, I get the size, but for me, it's just really about,
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: Do you need to value trading up for a running back?
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: But when I think about what the jacks have talked about wanting to do, you know, get more explosive.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen talked about it's difficult to have drives where you're having to drive 12, 13 plays.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's a tendency at some point to make a mistake during a long drive.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: Jerry and Price can help you shorten up some of those drives and terms of how many plays you have to run.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I get it.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: He also has kick return ability.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: Big big kick return ability.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: I get the interest.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know that you need to trade up for running back.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now if they're not able to trade up for him.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: And again, this is a report from Tony Pauline reputable guy in my opinion.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's just making this up.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: They could be interested in Emmett Johnson out in Nebraska if they're not able to land a jadarian price.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: And Emmett Johnson is a runner that I've been a big fan of.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: I've mocked him to the Jaguars at times.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Certainly before they added Chris Rodriguez, I mocked him to the Jaguars a good bit.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: So he is much more of a,
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well rounded back right now I would say in terms of like the complete game, he has experience in past protection, solid in that regard.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: He has experience as a past catcher.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a big time past catcher at Nebraska, and in this past year he had 251 rush attempts, 1450 yards, 5.8 yards per attempt, 12 touchdowns,
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: his career yards after contact per attempt three point oh two so he's getting your doctor contact as well and he's forcing a ton of miss tackles he had six eight miss tackles forced just this year now he does everything really well except for you know finished long runs in my opinion but I do see chunk place in his game at the next level because I think he has really good
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: Feel, vision, short area acceleration and quickness.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's gonna be getting to the second and third level of the defense a lot as a runner.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know how many times you're gonna see him go in for 80, go in for 70, go in for 60 and finishing that with a touchdown.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: But you don't have to finish with a touchdown to have an incredibly effective explosive right for your team.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: And he had a lot of long runs this year.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: He had long runs of 47 yards, 50 yards, 52 yards, 70 yards.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not like he can't create these explosives.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: He absolutely can.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, I don't think he necessarily has that finishing speed to take it the distance necessarily.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: But he's somebody again, very well-rounded game.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jack Wars wanted to take him in the third round, that would really kind of make sense to me more than trading up for a running back in the second round.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: But again, if you're able to draft a Workhorse dynamic back,
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: whatever it is in this draft.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: I do understand why you would be interested in doing that.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily understand the addition of Chris Rodriguez in that scenario.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: Although you might just be wanting to go into the draft and not feel like you have to do anything, you have to land a player at this position.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: I get that part for sure, but I don't know about trading up
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned he doesn't have that breakaway speed, four, five, six, 40 yard dash.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: So, not great.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: But the 159, 10 split is better.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: The 35 and a half inch vert show some explosiveness, the 10-0 broad show some explosiveness.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that that, the ability is there for him to, again, create explosives, just not finish those as I was like, again, 60, 70, 80 yard touchdowns.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: Um, we'll see what the jackwares do at running back, but I would be pretty forward if they trade it up for running back in the second round and it definitely be fascinating to see what they have to give up in order to do that.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: But that'll do it for this one really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe y'all of a good one.
