Speaker 2: As I said, we have plenty of candidates on day,
• 2:56
Speaker 2: including the person we're abound to introduce you to. Her
• 2:58
Speaker 2: name is Marissa Jackson. She's a Democrat running for a
• 3:01
Speaker 2: house in District fifty eight. To get the district. Right now,
• 3:03
Speaker 2: I thought, I am all right, welcome to the show.
• 3:05
Speaker 2: How tell us whom Marissa Jackson is. Give us your bio.
• 3:08
Speaker 4: Thank you, Dave, I appreciate that. So first, I'm in
• 3:11
Speaker 4: Native West Virginia. I'm from Cross Lanes, West Virginia, and
• 3:15
Speaker 4: I went to Nitro, I went to Marshall and studied
• 3:18
Speaker 4: fine arts and graphic design, and then I went on
• 3:20
Speaker 4: to WU and received my MBA and moved a little
• 3:24
Speaker 4: bit around the state. Lived in rural West Virginia out
• 3:27
Speaker 4: in Craigsville for several years, where my husband and I
• 3:30
Speaker 4: started our family, and then we ended up moving back
• 3:34
Speaker 4: to Saint Albans, and so some of my early years
• 3:36
Speaker 4: were spent in the district that I'm actually running for.
• 3:39
Speaker 4: So living in Cross Lanes, I was right across the bridge.
• 3:42
Speaker 4: I was in St. Albans, you know, playing sports. My
• 3:45
Speaker 4: dad worked in Dunbar at State Electric, and so I
• 3:48
Speaker 4: grew up going through this area. I mean there was
• 3:52
Speaker 4: places in Jefferson that we went to growing up. So yeah,
• 3:56
Speaker 4: so I am. I'm also a mother, I have three children,
• 4:00
Speaker 4: I have two who have disabilities, and I'm also a
• 4:03
Speaker 4: small business owner. So for a little over a decade,
• 4:06
Speaker 4: I have owned and operated Marissa Maid, which is an
• 4:10
Speaker 4: art business that I have where I paint, I do
• 4:12
Speaker 4: watercolor calligraphy, and sell my artwork both retail and wholesale
• 4:18
Speaker 4: throughout Appalachia. And part of the artwork is to advocate
• 4:22
Speaker 4: for Fox g one syndrome, which is what my son has,
• 4:26
Speaker 4: So I've been doing that.
• 4:28
Speaker 2: If you don't care what that is, of course.
• 4:30
Speaker 4: It is a rare neurological condition that affects all aspects
• 4:34
Speaker 4: of development. So it's one of the first genes that's
• 4:38
Speaker 4: developed in utero. And for my son, it was mutated.
• 4:42
Speaker 4: So when the other cells are you know, they normally
• 4:45
Speaker 4: receive communication saying you know, this is what you're supposed
• 4:47
Speaker 4: to do. Where this was mutated, my son did not
• 4:51
Speaker 4: give mend information. Some of his other cells didn't form properly.
• 4:54
Speaker 4: So yeah, so he has it looks like you have
• 4:57
Speaker 4: global developmental delays. He has epilepsi, cortical vision impairment, he's
• 5:03
Speaker 4: fed through a gtube, he is a wheelchair, he's not
• 5:06
Speaker 4: able to sit or stand independently, he's nonverbal, so he's
• 5:10
Speaker 4: he's total care. So yeah, this is a I'm someone
• 5:13
Speaker 4: who comes from like maybe a different lens in the political.
• 5:17
Speaker 2: So with all that, why do you want to be
• 5:19
Speaker 2: in the house of elious?
• 5:20
Speaker 4: Well, you know, I heard a quote and it really
• 5:22
Speaker 4: resonated with me. Two things. One I heard, if you
• 5:26
Speaker 4: don't have a seat at the table, you're on the menu.
• 5:28
Speaker 4: And that really hit home for me because in twenty
• 5:31
Speaker 4: twenty four, that was my first protest and my husband,
• 5:35
Speaker 4: my son, and I attended and it was about cuts
• 5:39
Speaker 4: to the waiver program, and so we rallied together. All
• 5:43
Speaker 4: of the disability community came out, and I really started
• 5:47
Speaker 4: to see that the people who I trusted to make
• 5:52
Speaker 4: decisions for us didn't have our best interests in heart,
• 5:56
Speaker 4: and that's very scary. And so you know, then I
• 5:59
Speaker 4: heard young speak last year at a rally and she said,
• 6:02
Speaker 4: we need more moms out here, and so I thought,
• 6:04
Speaker 4: you know, I feel like I've gained some experience through advocacy,
• 6:09
Speaker 4: through advocating for my own through advocating for other families
• 6:13
Speaker 4: who have children with disabilities. And I thought, if I
• 6:16
Speaker 4: can use the experience that I've gained as a mom,
• 6:18
Speaker 4: as an advocate, as a community member to help other
• 6:22
Speaker 4: people in my community, then I'd like to try. I
• 6:25
Speaker 4: want to do that.
• 6:25
Speaker 2: Explain District fifty eight to us. So what area are
• 6:28
  Speaker 2: we talking about?
• 6:29
Speaker 4: So it is part of Saint Albans, it is West Dunbar,
• 6:33
Speaker 4: East Nitro Institute and Jefferson.
• 6:37
Speaker 2: What do you see specifically as some of the biggest
• 6:40
Speaker 2: needs of that district.
• 6:42
Speaker 4: So I've been out talking to people. One of the
• 6:44
Speaker 4: questions they ask is how's your campaign going?
• 6:47
Speaker 2: So I'll just cross I'll cross that one off my list.
• 6:51
Speaker 4: Is that on your list? Because number one?
• 6:53
  Speaker 2: Actually it is.
• 6:53
Speaker 4: Oh that's so funny. That's the number one question I've
• 6:57
Speaker 4: asked is how's your campaign going? So I think I
• 6:59
Speaker 4: can through your first question with this one.
• 7:01
  Speaker 2: There you go.
• 7:02
Speaker 4: So I have been out in the district since, you know,
• 7:06
Speaker 4: I think in March. The beginning of March. I started
• 7:08
Speaker 4: knocking on doors and I've knocked on over six hundred
• 7:10
Speaker 4: doors and talked to people throughout the district, and I'm
• 7:16
Speaker 4: hearing a lot of the same so very They're very
• 7:19
Speaker 4: concerned about public schools and public school funding, what's happening
• 7:23
Speaker 4: with our you know, I believe they're feeling that, you know,
• 7:27
Speaker 4: we're watching it erode before our very eyes. And they're
• 7:31
Speaker 4: concerned about healthcare and so concerned about a lot. I
• 7:35
Speaker 4: hear a lot about insurance not covering medications. Peia is
• 7:40
Speaker 4: another issue, and then utilities is the number is anotherumber one,
• 7:46
Speaker 4: like really big concern and affordability of living expenses because
• 7:50
Speaker 4: many of the people that I've talked to are on
• 7:53
Speaker 4: a fixed income, and so as they continue to see
• 7:56
Speaker 4: their utility rates rise, they're very concerned about how they're
• 7:59
Speaker 4: going to continue to afford things.
• 8:01
Speaker 2: Now, if you are elected to the House, so how
• 8:03
Speaker 2: do you address these things? Because some of those things
• 8:05
Speaker 2: are are very difficult, But I mean, how do you
• 8:07
Speaker 2: plan on attacking those if you are elected?
• 8:09
Speaker 4: Yeah, so great question. Right now, let's talk about public
• 8:13
Speaker 4: education for a moment. So I am involved with a
• 8:16
Speaker 4: group it's called Free the Future West Virginia. And if
• 8:20
Speaker 4: you all everybody who's listening, if you wouldn't mind just
• 8:22
Speaker 4: to look them up on Facebook and like and follow.
• 8:25
Speaker 4: So Free the Future West Virginia is a movement that
• 8:29
Speaker 4: we are advocating for public education specifically. We've got two
• 8:34
Speaker 4: asks right now. One is not to ask our senators
• 8:40
Speaker 4: to not approve any type of federal cuts and also
• 8:43
Speaker 4: to fully fund IDA, the Individual with Disabilities Education Act,
• 8:48
Speaker 4: because that hasn't actually been fully funded since it began.
• 8:53
Speaker 4: And so for my district, you know, I've heard that
• 8:56
Speaker 4: in Kanall County they're to receive forty percent of federal
• 9:01
Speaker 4: funding from my DEEA and only receiving right now about
• 9:04
Speaker 4: fifteen percent. And so last legislative session when they talked
• 9:08
Speaker 4: about we had advocates, we have people from the school
• 9:11
Speaker 4: coming to advocate for funding specifically for special education. The
• 9:16
Speaker 4: legislature paid for that RAND report and did not do
• 9:21
Speaker 4: anything with that, so kind of looked the other way.
• 9:24
Speaker 4: And special education funding is still something that's very much needed,
• 9:28
Speaker 4: and so that is something that I will support and
• 9:31
Speaker 4: support like the funding formula changes that need to happen
• 9:36
Speaker 4: so that we are meeting faith and meeting all children's
• 9:39
Speaker 4: needs in West Virginia, especially when we serve eighty five
• 9:42
Speaker 4: percent of kids with public education system. So that is
• 9:46
Speaker 4: something that I will support for public education. And then
• 9:50
Speaker 4: as far as healthcare goes. You know, I would definitely
• 9:54
Speaker 4: support some changes to PIA so people can afford their
• 9:58
Speaker 4: medication and insurance will cover things. Like I spoke to
• 10:01
Speaker 4: a woman who told me that her epilepsy medication is
• 10:05
Speaker 4: five hundred some dollars. PIA won't cover it, and so
• 10:08
Speaker 4: she pays out a pocket every month for that to
• 10:10
Speaker 4: control her seizures. And those are things that people need
• 10:14
Speaker 4: help with. I also heard about like our health expanding
• 10:21
Speaker 4: health care, and right now we have the healthcare system
• 10:24
Speaker 4: is opening up these satellite locations around West Virginia specifically,
• 10:27
Speaker 4: and like we've got rural locations where people can log
• 10:31
Speaker 4: on telehealth and get a specialist and their provider all
• 10:34
Speaker 4: in one to help serve these underserved locations. So I
• 10:37
Speaker 4: think funding for that and also expanding that throughout West
• 10:42
Speaker 4: Virginia would be very helpful for people who don't have
• 10:45
Speaker 4: access to places where they can go to receive health care.
• 10:51
Speaker 4: And I also like the idea of continuing to provide
• 10:54
Speaker 4: access to students to have more comprehensive health care at
• 10:58
Speaker 4: the school location. My son's school had Family Health come
• 11:01
Speaker 4: in of us and they can get their physicals there,
• 11:04
Speaker 4: and I love that idea for especially like our rural
• 11:07
Speaker 4: locations where they are in need.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: Do you have a website or social media that you'd
• 11:13
Speaker 2: like to have put up there?
• 11:14
Speaker 4: I do so. Marissa for WV dot com is my
• 11:17
Speaker 4: website and on Facebook you can find me at Marissa
• 11:20

• 11:30
Speaker 4: And I haven't been involved in politics before, so I
• 11:32
  Speaker 4: think that's a great reason. You know, I bring a
• 11:35
Speaker 4: new perspective again, I do. I am someone who has
• 11:39
Speaker 4: who's living what West Virginians are struggling with, and I
• 11:43
Speaker 4: am just willing to use my energy to make positive
• 11:45
Speaker 4: changes for West Virginians.

• 16:09
Speaker 2: gentleman that's with me now is hoping you will choose
• 16:11
Speaker 2: his name for County Commission of Putnam County's name is
• 16:15
Speaker 2: Zach Creed. He joins us this morning the Jery Construction Studios.
• 16:18
Speaker 2: Good day morning, sir, and welcome to the show. Good morning, Dave.
• 16:22
Speaker 2: So tell us about Zach Creed. Who is Zach Creed?
• 16:25
  Speaker 4: So?
• 16:25
Speaker 14: I was born and raised in Putnam County, graduated from
• 16:28
Speaker 14: from Windfield. I grew up in Scott Depot. I have
• 16:33
Speaker 14: Creedlon of Landscaping in Scott Depot. We just recently, with
• 16:37
Speaker 14: my family, we just recently bought deal Bold Malchimore, which
• 16:41
Speaker 14: is now Putnam Landscape Supply over in Fraser's Bottom. I've
• 16:44
Speaker 14: been a realtor with running In Associates from us ten
• 16:47
Speaker 14: years now. I got two of the.
• 16:49
Speaker 2: Most beautiful little girls, not biased in anyway, are you well?
• 16:54
Speaker 14: Yeah, something to be said for truthless and so they
• 16:59
Speaker 14: go to go to Confidence Elementary. I got a beautiful
• 17:01
Speaker 14: wife and I'm blessed with that that that takes care
• 17:04
Speaker 14: of our little girls. I have been investing in Putnam
• 17:08
  Speaker 14: County for a long time. I have I have a
• 17:12
Speaker 14: farm in Puttnam County. Can't get more puttam County in
• 17:16
  Speaker 14: that greed.
• 17:17
Speaker 2: So with all of that, I don't know, how do
• 17:20
Speaker 2: you have any hours left in the day. But with
• 17:21
Speaker 2: all that, why do you want to be on Putnham
• 17:23
  Speaker 2: count Commission.
• 17:25
Speaker 14: I think I'm the man for the job. I think
• 17:28
Speaker 14: we have a lot of growth coming to the county
• 17:30
Speaker 14: and it's exciting, I mean, but I think the growth
• 17:34
Speaker 14: has to be handled and managed with somebody with experience
• 17:38
Speaker 14: in these situations. You know, we have, uh, there's a
• 17:43
Speaker 14: lot of fear and with with with this growth, and
• 17:45
Speaker 14: I think fear takes leadership.
• 17:47
Speaker 2: And what are some of the fears that you're hearing?
• 17:50
Speaker 14: Well, of course you have the the amazons, the data centers,
• 17:53
Speaker 14: the uh the stuff that follows with that. And and
• 17:58
Speaker 14: I understand, I mean, listen again, I told you job,
• 18:00
  Speaker 14: I've I've got I've.
• 18:01
  Speaker 2: Got a farm.
• 18:02
  Speaker 14: I understand everybody's fear.
• 18:04
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 18:05
Speaker 14: So when I was growing up in scott Depot Our,
• 18:08
Speaker 14: our our business there used to have woods on one
• 18:11
Speaker 14: side and farm on the other. And our business was
• 18:14
Speaker 14: a lot smaller back then, and I used to have
• 18:16
Speaker 14: I grew up with horses and goats and and all
• 18:19
Speaker 14: of a sudden the growth came in and had subdivisions
• 18:22
Speaker 14: beside me. And then all of a sudden they were
• 18:23
Speaker 14: hollering about our horses and our goats, and of course
• 18:26
Speaker 14: our business grew so so we had to get rid
• 18:28
Speaker 14: of that stuff. But I dealt with the fact that
• 18:31
Speaker 14: with growth coming in, you know, all around you, and
• 18:35
Speaker 14: I understand the fears of that when it comes to
• 18:40
Speaker 14: what all is that going to bring?
• 18:41
Speaker 2: How is that changing our lives? Right?
• 18:43
  Speaker 4: You know.
• 18:44
Speaker 14: One of the things of it is, you know, Putnam County,
• 18:46
Speaker 14: we just went through a.
• 18:48
Speaker 2: A tax rate you know hike. Listen.
• 18:51
Speaker 14: I have several property in Putnam County, so I felt
• 18:55
Speaker 14: that harshly without this this industry coming to the county
• 19:00
Speaker 14: and our taxes are going to continue to go up.
• 19:04
Speaker 14: We need not only does does growth bring.
• 19:07
Speaker 2: Jobs and and and and.
• 19:10
Speaker 14: Bring you know everything that comes with that, but it
• 19:13
Speaker 14: also brings tax dollars. Now with that, I know one
• 19:17
Speaker 14: of the things going on is with this pass the
• 19:20
Speaker 14: past bill, with with House Bill twenty fourteen, that took
• 19:24
Speaker 14: away a lot of local control and I'm against that
• 19:26
Speaker 14: one hundred percent local.
• 19:27
Speaker 2: Now explain what the House bill is for those that
• 19:29
  Speaker 2: don't know.
• 19:30
Speaker 14: So with from from what I am my understanding for
• 19:34
Speaker 14: what what it did was say for the data center,
• 19:36
Speaker 14: and sense seventy percent of those tax dollars. Is that
• 19:40
Speaker 14: that that that that one facility is going to bring
• 19:44
Speaker 14: goes to the state and the state does with it
• 19:45
Speaker 14: as they as they see fit. The county only keeps
• 19:48
Speaker 14: thirty percent of that. I'm against that wholeheartedly. Why are
• 19:52
  Speaker 14: you against them? Well, it's it's that's our money. I
• 19:55
Speaker 14: mean what why is why are other counties prospering from
• 19:58
Speaker 14: something that isn't our CA county? Why?
• 20:00
  Speaker 11: Why?
• 20:01
Speaker 14: Why is somebody you know? Our our are my voters, are,
• 20:06
Speaker 14: are my neighbors, my friends, That's our money. Plus we
• 20:11
Speaker 14: should have control of what goes on in our county.
• 20:13
Speaker 14: And and that took all local control. You know, I'm
• 20:16
  Speaker 14: a conservative Republican and I'm a business owner. I want
• 20:21
Speaker 14: I should have control of what goes on in my household.
• 20:23
Speaker 14: And and and Putnam County is is the Putnam County
• 20:25
  Speaker 14: residence household.
• 20:26
Speaker 2: I don't want to put words in your mouth, but
• 20:28
Speaker 2: what I'm hearing you say is you are not against
• 20:30
Speaker 2: the data center. You're just against not not having enough
• 20:33
Speaker 2: input out there. Correct, correct, No, I'm not against the
• 20:36
  Speaker 2: data center.
• 20:37
Speaker 14: I think I think that's the growth, like that is
• 20:40
  Speaker 14: what we need I think I think there's a lot
• 20:41
Speaker 14: of fear, and again I think that fear needs needs
• 20:46
Speaker 14: to be dealt with with leadership to to take you
• 20:50
Speaker 14: know what. Listen, if if if a genie came out,
• 20:54
Speaker 14: one of the things, I'd do away with his Facebook. Okay, Facebook, but.
• 20:58
Speaker 2: I don't disagree. Sometimes I go back to, you know,
• 21:01
Speaker 2: pictures of cats and food.
• 21:02
  Speaker 15: You know.
• 21:03
Speaker 14: Well, I was talking to somebody yesterday and the young
• 21:05
Speaker 14: lady was telling me, you know why, she said such
• 21:08
Speaker 14: against you know, the data center, right, And I said,
• 21:11
Speaker 14: where are you getting your information from? And she wouldn't
• 21:13
Speaker 14: tell me, and her husband goes he silently, he goes
• 21:15
Speaker 14: to Facebook. And it's one of these things where again
• 21:20
Speaker 14: the fear is scary or the growth is scary. I'm sorry,
• 21:24
Speaker 14: but it's one of these things with leadership, and this
• 21:27
Speaker 14: stuff helped. So what I want to do, just you know,
• 21:29
Speaker 14: talking about the data center, I want to show them
• 21:34
Speaker 14: where they can spend the money, because they're they're already
• 21:36
Speaker 14: reaching out to several entities in the county and asking where,
• 21:39
Speaker 14: you know, how much money are you needing? Where can
• 21:42
Speaker 14: we spend to donate this money? And so what I
• 21:45
Speaker 14: want to do is show them where they can spend
• 21:47
Speaker 14: it and make sure that that money is spent in
• 21:49
Speaker 14: the correct way. And what better for somebody that that
• 21:51
Speaker 14: not only it lives in different parts of the county,
• 21:54
Speaker 14: operates in different parts of the county. As my kids
• 21:57
Speaker 14: go to school in the county. I have a great
• 21:59
Speaker 14: working relationship with our fire and our police departments, which
• 22:04
Speaker 14: could benefit huge from all this money. And I think
• 22:09
  Speaker 14: it's exciting. It's I just I'm excited to be a
• 22:15
Speaker 14: part of it, have an opportunity to be a part.
• 22:18
Speaker 2: You know, it's interesting because and as somebody of your
• 22:20
Speaker 2: age that said that, you can remember Putnham County. Probably
• 22:23
Speaker 2: I didn't live there at the time, but you did
• 22:24
Speaker 2: when you were growing up. The first growth spart of
• 22:27
Speaker 2: Putnam County, which was in what the late late and
• 22:30
Speaker 2: the nineties, the nineties, and that's when it really really exploded.
• 22:33
Speaker 2: And data center's side, Putnam County is growing with even
• 22:37
Speaker 2: without that, because I mean every day there's a ribbon
• 22:40
Speaker 2: being cut, there's new people moving in. New core people
• 22:42
Speaker 2: are moving in, you know, by the by the truckloads.
• 22:46
Speaker 2: As a county commissioner, how do you handle the infrastructure
• 22:50
Speaker 2: aspect of that, because you're going to be asked to
• 22:52
Speaker 2: make decisions about that to make sure that. Look, everybody
• 22:54
Speaker 2: wants people moving in, but you've got to be able
• 22:56
Speaker 2: to handle almost people.
• 22:58
Speaker 14: Definitely, most definitely. So you know, everybody wants to talk
• 23:02
  Speaker 14: about roads. Listen, I've I'm I've I've got twenty trucks
• 23:05
Speaker 14: on the day, every day on the roads. Okay, my
• 23:09
Speaker 14: I've got trailers that are breaking down.
• 23:10
Speaker 2: The roads are horrible.
• 23:11
Speaker 14: Okay, I mean so, But as a cateemic missioner, there
• 23:13
Speaker 14: are only so much you can do. You know, you
• 23:15
Speaker 14: can be an advocate, which I will, and so you
• 23:18
Speaker 14: can be making those phone calls. You'll be knocking on
• 23:20
Speaker 14: those doors, you know, to to to the people that
• 23:22
Speaker 14: are that are that are in charge of that.
• 23:24
  Speaker 2: But when it.
• 23:25
Speaker 14: Comes to the the zoning and things of that nature,
• 23:29
Speaker 14: it's understanding what growth looks like and not what just listen,
• 23:35
Speaker 14: we aren't asking, in my opinion, we aren't asking just
• 23:38
Speaker 14: for anybody to come and build a Putnham County because
• 23:40
Speaker 14: that's not what you want. When that happens, you get
• 23:42
Speaker 14: across lanes, okay. And so at the end of the
• 23:45
Speaker 14: day that I don't mean to step on anybody's toes.
• 23:48
Speaker 2: But I think what you mean is like the traffic aspect, well.
• 23:51
Speaker 14: The traffic aspect and and and and so at the
• 23:53
Speaker 14: end of the day, it's it's one of these things
• 23:55
Speaker 14: where we want growth to come and and again it's managed.
• 24:00
Speaker 14: What who better to manage growth than somebody that that
• 24:04
Speaker 14: that that has built businesses and runs businesses and deals
• 24:07
Speaker 14: with these companies. You know, I'm I've dealt with these
• 24:10
Speaker 14: companies when they come and and and the different different
• 24:16
Speaker 14: red red tape that that even if somebody as small
• 24:18
Speaker 14: as is a small business up to a data center
• 24:20
Speaker 14: has to go through to get through, and and you've
• 24:23
Speaker 14: got to know how to manage that so it works
• 24:25
Speaker 14: for everybody. And you're not just you're not just putting
• 24:27
Speaker 14: putting still on the ground to put still on the ground.
• 24:29
Speaker 14: You know, there's a certain type of growth that you
• 24:31
Speaker 14: want and and it's going to be managed.
• 24:35
Speaker 2: Talking to Zach Creed again, who's Republican Canada for Putnam County.

• 24:54
Speaker 14: see me there, and then I listen my So one
• 24:57
Speaker 14: of the things that I've I think that I'm great
• 24:59
Speaker 14: about is I'm the most reachable person in the world.
• 25:03
Speaker 14: If it's not my my billboards thirty foot in the

• 25:11
Speaker 14: I got twenty trucks traveling around the valley with my
• 25:13
Speaker 14: office phone number on it. My cell phone is always
• 25:16
Speaker 14: out there three h four or five five, two sixty
• 25:18
Speaker 14: nine hundred. You can't can't forget it. And I want
• 25:21
  Speaker 14: my voters to reach out. I want I don't. I
• 25:23
Speaker 14: don't want to have arguments on Facebook. I don't want to.
• 25:25
Speaker 14: I want to have conversations and and I'm open for
• 25:29
  Speaker 14: any questions.
• 25:30
Speaker 2: Final thirty Why should someone vote for Zach Creed, Republican
• 25:33
Speaker 2: for Putnam County Commission.
• 25:35
Speaker 14: I there's not been a candidate in any situation as
• 25:38
Speaker 14: much skin of the game as I do. I not
• 25:41
Speaker 14: only will every vote that I make affect me, my family,
• 25:46
Speaker 14: my businesses, not my family, my neighbors in some way.
• 25:49
Speaker 14: But I'm gonna be here as long as as long
• 25:52
Speaker 14: as my voters will will will keep me long enough
• 25:54
Speaker 14: to be held accountable for the votes that I make tomorrow.

Speaker 14: And I think I have the resume and I'm the

Speaker 14: man for the job.

Speaker 2: but several times. I've been undergoing cancer treatments. Those are done,

Speaker 2: They're done at this point. I got a diploma in
• 31:05
Speaker 2: everything yesterday. So now I'll wait to next month to
• 31:08
Speaker 2: see what's going to happen next. But I do appreciate
• 31:10
Speaker 2: all the thoughts and prayers. Welcome and now doctor Stephen Eshnauer,
• 31:13
Speaker 2: who is running for State Senate District eights. Good yes, sorting,
• 31:17
Speaker 2: Thanks you, welcome to the show. Thank you for being here.
• 31:20
Speaker 2: Give us your background, your bioser.
• 31:22
Speaker 18: So, Dave, I am a retired thirty year military veteran
• 31:25
Speaker 18: for combat tours. I'm a physician practicing both emergency medicine
• 31:30
Speaker 18: and running the local health department here at Kenneal Charleston
• 31:34
Speaker 18: Health Department. So a little bit of a very background.
• 31:37
Speaker 2: So with that, why the run for state Senate?
• 31:40
Speaker 18: The run for state Senate. It's pretty simple. My wife
• 31:42
Speaker 18: and I we've been blessed with two children of our own,
• 31:45
Speaker 18: and we've adopted for three of those children have now
• 31:47
Speaker 18: left the state, as well as four of our grandchildren
• 31:50
Speaker 18: for economic opportunity. We would love to see them come back.
• 31:53
Speaker 18: I want to focus on bringing economy growth back to
• 31:56
Speaker 18: West Virginia and with it my own family.
• 31:59
Speaker 2: And explain with the district to us.
• 32:01
Speaker 18: So, the District eight is a broke up district. It
• 32:04
Speaker 18: is all of Clay County, all of Rome County, southern
• 32:07
Speaker 18: Jackson County, northern Putnam County, a little piece of Work County,
• 32:12
Speaker 18: and the downtown strip of Canawll County in Charleston, Dunbar,
• 32:18
Speaker 18: west Side, Cross Lanes, Nitro.
• 32:21
  Speaker 2: That's a big area and it's a diverse area. And
• 32:25
Speaker 2: what I mean by that is is that those areas
• 32:27
Speaker 2: that you mentioned in Charleston per se couldn't be any
• 32:30
Speaker 2: more different than Work County. How do you handle that?
• 32:33
Speaker 2: How do you handle it?
• 32:34
Speaker 1: Well? We are all humans.
• 32:36
Speaker 18: As an our physician, I've been taught raised from a
• 32:41
Speaker 18: childhood that we are all in the same boat together
• 32:44
Speaker 18: and as a soldier. We all fight with these same collars.
• 32:47
Speaker 18: We all represent red, white, and blue. So when I
• 32:50
Speaker 18: look at myself as a candidate, I don't look at
• 32:52
Speaker 18: myself as just a candidate for a specific party or
• 32:56
Speaker 18: for a specific group, but a representative that actually represents
• 33:00
Speaker 18: the people across my district. Having grown up in rural
• 33:03
Speaker 18: West Virginia and lived in urban West Virginia both.
• 33:07
Speaker 2: So what do you see as the biggest needs of
• 33:08
Speaker 2: the district. Give me a couple that you want to
• 33:10
Speaker 2: work on it for lecthing. Oh, it's pretty simple. Look
• 33:12
Speaker 2: at right here at Kennall County. Kanall County has lost
• 33:15
Speaker 2: more population than any county in West Virginia over the
• 33:17
Speaker 2: past five years. How do we address that.
• 33:20
Speaker 18: We have got to improve one, our retention of business
• 33:26
Speaker 18: right here in Kanaw County and across our district, whether
• 33:29
Speaker 18: it be Rohan County, Clay County. We've got to retain
• 33:31
Speaker 18: those businesses and help them grow too. We need to
• 33:34
Speaker 18: attract new business here.
• 33:36
Speaker 2: To the district. Across the district.
• 33:38
Speaker 18: We're seeing some lights of growth in different areas in
• 33:42
Speaker 18: Jackson County, Putnam County, Mason County. What we're not seeing
• 33:47
Speaker 18: is that same kind of growth in say, Clay County
• 33:49
  Speaker 18: and Rome County.
• 33:51
Speaker 2: And as I said, that goes back to that diversity
• 33:53
Speaker 2: of the district. I mean, because again, I know you
• 33:55
Speaker 2: said that we're all humans, but the differences are very different,
• 33:59
Speaker 2: but there's a lot of similarities as well. How's the
• 34:01
Speaker 2: campaign been so far?
• 34:02
Speaker 1: It's been very rough.
• 34:04
Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, Well, before we get to the obvious, let's
• 34:07
Speaker 2: talk about meeting with people and then we'll get to
• 34:09
Speaker 2: the other stuff later. When you've been out on the
• 34:11
Speaker 2: campaign trail, you're going door to door, your hand shaking
• 34:14
Speaker 2: and sign waving and doing all the things. What are
• 34:17
Speaker 2: you hearing from constituents? What I'm hearing from constituents is
• 34:21
Speaker 2: a number of things. The first, in the biggest is
• 34:24
Speaker 2: the concern about the economy, the lack of growth, particularly
• 34:27
Speaker 2: in the rural county such as Clay County and Ron
• 34:29
Speaker 2: County where I've been extensively. And then what I'm seeing
• 34:34
Speaker 2: from a political perspective is a repulsion to a lot
• 34:39
Speaker 2: of the negative and outside financial influence that has come
• 34:45
Speaker 2: into the election that they see as interference. Okay, I
• 34:49
Speaker 2: want to That's the element in the room right now
• 34:51
Speaker 2: is because I've interviewed. You've been You've been in various forums.
• 34:55
Speaker 2: I had you on Metro News Midday just a couple
• 34:56
Speaker 2: of days ago talking about the mailers, some of the
• 35:00
Speaker 2: radio ads, television ads, so on and so forth that
• 35:02
Speaker 2: have come targeting certain people, and you and others have
• 35:06
Speaker 2: said it's out of state interests that are doing this.
• 35:10
Speaker 2: This has been well identified by many in the press,
• 35:13
Speaker 2: including here at Metro News, that have done some great
• 35:16
Speaker 2: investigative work. Is where is this money coming from, who
• 35:20
Speaker 2: is backing it, what do they want? And why are
• 35:23
Speaker 2: they in our elections? This is a great question.
• 35:27
Speaker 18: Why can't we, as in the candidates, and I say
• 35:31
Speaker 18: that implurality of all of us here in the state,
• 35:34
Speaker 18: be able to have didactic discussions, present our points and
• 35:38
Speaker 18: not have our elections influenced by gross amounts of out
• 35:43
Speaker 18: of state money that are really beyond what any of
• 35:46
Speaker 18: us could fundraise and combat. So that's part of the
• 35:49
Speaker 18: big question. Why are they in our elections? And what
• 35:53
  Speaker 18: do they want?
• 35:55
Speaker 2: And some of these claims that have been made. I'm
• 35:57
Speaker 2: not taking sides either way. I don't care who they can.
• 36:00
Speaker 2: It is many of these in a lot of people's eyes,
• 36:03
Speaker 2: go well beyond well, this guy or this woman doesn't
• 36:09
Speaker 2: have the experience for the job. I'm just using that
• 36:11
Speaker 2: as an example. So those things you may have heard
• 36:13
Speaker 2: in the past, something like that I'm the better candidate,
• 36:15
Speaker 2: I mean the better candidate because of this or because
• 36:19
Speaker 2: of that. It goes well beyond that, I mean talking
• 36:23
Speaker 2: about I mean, this is a Republican primary, and words
• 36:27
Speaker 2: like woke and DEI have gone out here. The coloring
• 36:32
Speaker 2: of people's skin to make them look darker than they are.
• 36:35
Speaker 2: I mean, this is something that we've not seen anything like.
• 36:40
Speaker 2: It's particularly in a Republican primary.
• 36:43
Speaker 18: Unfortunately, it has entered this primary, and as you say,
• 36:47
Speaker 18: we've not seen this in the past, and as you
• 36:48
Speaker 18: pointed out, we're not seeing candidates that are writing the
• 36:52
Speaker 18: coattails of this speaking out against it. Having been one
• 36:56
Speaker 18: of those targeted, it is very disappointing as a number
• 36:59
Speaker 18: of these very false, dividing, discriminatory, and frankly racist ads
• 37:05
Speaker 18: have come out against me.
• 37:07
  Speaker 2: Why I don't know. Now You're sitting here and I'm
• 37:10
Speaker 2: looking at you, and you know, I'm thinking, why would
• 37:12
Speaker 2: anybody target you with with ads that you say are racist?
• 37:16
  Speaker 2: To explain that?
• 37:17
Speaker 18: So the the ad that the flyer, I should say,
• 37:21
Speaker 18: not an ad the flyer that recently came out that
• 37:23
Speaker 18: had a Black Lives Ladder mask on me that was
• 37:27
Speaker 18: obviously you know, photoshopped or aid it hits it home
• 37:31
Speaker 18: because now those who don't know me don't realize that
• 37:36
Speaker 18: two of my adopted children are mixed race or African American.
• 37:39
Speaker 18: And now my daughter is receiving these these calls from
• 37:44
Speaker 18: not necessarily analysted but block numbers calling her very racial
• 37:49
Speaker 18: slurs and it's a personal attack in a front on
• 37:52
  Speaker 18: my own family.
• 37:53
Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on your daughter, you're saying, is getting
• 37:57
Speaker 2: calls from block numbers using racial terms against her?
• 38:02
  Speaker 1: Yes?
• 38:03
Speaker 2: And I mean is this coming from these groups or
• 38:06
  Speaker 2: I mean.
• 38:07
Speaker 18: We don't know, they don't identify themselves. But she wasn't
• 38:09
Speaker 18: getting before the campaign started.
• 38:11
Speaker 2: No, they started yesterday. Howld your daughter?
• 38:13
  Speaker 18: She's twenty six.
• 38:15
Speaker 2: Okay, okay, and they're actually using the dreaded words and
• 38:19
Speaker 2: we all know what they are unfortunately. Okay.
• 38:21
Speaker 18: Yeah, and they don't even live in state now. They
• 38:24
Speaker 18: had to move out of state for economic opportunity. She
• 38:27
Speaker 18: her husband, and our three grandchildren. And it's just a shame.
• 38:30
Speaker 18: Why target my family like that, I'm the one running
• 38:34
Speaker 18: in the race, not them, so to bring racial things
• 38:37
Speaker 18: up and stir racial tensions that are so against where
• 38:42
Speaker 18: I stand as a human. I take care of everyone
• 38:45
Speaker 18: that comes in the er. We treat everyone that comes
• 38:47
Speaker 18: to the health Department with dignity and respect, and I
• 38:51
Speaker 18: would expect the same of.
• 38:52
  Speaker 1: Any of us.
• 38:53
Speaker 18: None of us need and none of us benefit from
• 38:56
  Speaker 18: racism and discrimination.

• 39:22
Speaker 18: I've been putting my skin in the game, literally my
• 39:25
Speaker 18: entire life of public service since I was eighteen, and
• 39:28
Speaker 18: will continue to do so. No candidate will work harder
• 39:32
Speaker 18: than I will to fight for our communities. I went

• 39:39
Speaker 18: but because I would volunteer too, because it was the

• 42:09
Speaker 2: up your day. Yes, well, I'm just happy to have
• 42:11
Speaker 2: a break break from popla.
• 42:12
  Speaker 17: That's all.
• 42:13
Speaker 2: Due respect to all of our camels. They just I
• 42:16
Speaker 2: can talk about something. I can talk about beer.
• 42:18
Speaker 12: It is more fun to talk about it for beer, music.
• 42:21
Speaker 2: And so on and so forth. So ten years, man,
• 42:23
Speaker 2: tell us how this thing start? Ten years on tap as,
• 42:25
Speaker 2: we say, what was it like?
• 42:27
Speaker 1: Well, you know, we.
• 42:28
Speaker 20: Started this entire We started this event because we sat
• 42:31
Speaker 20: back when we say, okay, the capital area, the capital
• 42:34
Speaker 20: city does not have a true craft beer festival, right,
• 42:38
Speaker 20: and we as an organization, we're also looking for our
• 42:40
Speaker 20: next big fund raising event. We knew that we needed
• 42:42
Speaker 20: one more big fundraising event not only to keep our
• 42:46
Speaker 20: organization you know, solvent and do our due diligence financially,
• 42:50
Speaker 20: but also to shine a big spotlight on our small
• 42:54
Speaker 20: business community. That's our that's part of our mission, most
• 42:57
Speaker 20: of our mission actually, and that's how this was born.
• 43:00
Speaker 20: And we started planning for it in twenty fifteen, and
• 43:02
Speaker 20: then we had our first big event in twenty sixteen.
• 43:05
Speaker 20: As you probably recall, it started out at Laidley Field
• 43:08
Speaker 20: and it eventually moved over to right right in.
• 43:10
Speaker 2: Front of the Dome on the Canaan Boulevard.
• 43:12
Speaker 20: It's been there since so.
• 43:14
Speaker 2: And it's a great setting too. Yeah, it is because
• 43:17
Speaker 2: and you have so much more space, because this thing
• 43:19
Speaker 2: has gotten huge. As somebody who's been to several the's
• 43:21
Speaker 2: over the years, I mean, it was always big, but
• 43:24
Speaker 2: it's like you guys have taken it to another level now.
• 43:27
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 43:27
Speaker 20: Well, and you know, yeah, as a matter of fact,
• 43:29
Speaker 20: this year we have more food vendors than we've ever
• 43:31
Speaker 20: had before. We've always had really great luck when getting
• 43:33
Speaker 20: so many incredible beer vendors, whether they're the distributors or
• 43:37
Speaker 20: independent beer like breweries, but this year we have fifteen
• 43:41
Speaker 20: food vendors right alone, and we have several other nonprofit
• 43:44
Speaker 20: retail vendors as well. But yeah, I think it just
• 43:47
Speaker 20: speaks to not only the popularity of the event, but
• 43:49
Speaker 20: also I think so many of our vendors, and certainly
• 43:52
Speaker 20: our ticket holders and our attendees, we also have this
• 43:54
Speaker 20: shared purpose and vision for the work that we do,
• 43:58
Speaker 20: and love of our capital city, in love of the region.
• 44:01
Speaker 2: So and people come from a fur piece away.
• 44:05
Speaker 20: Yeah, we've counted sixteen states so far that people have
• 44:09
Speaker 20: traveled from to come to Foam with the Dumb, which
• 44:11
Speaker 20: we're very proud of.
• 44:11
Speaker 12: People plan their trips to visit family and friends in
• 44:15
Speaker 12: Charleston around when Foam is going to be so they
• 44:17
Speaker 12: can go to that together, which is I think that's special.
• 44:20
Speaker 2: And there's a lot going on in the canav Valley
• 44:23
Speaker 2: this weekend, but we just want to make sure people
• 44:24
Speaker 2: make it a part of that. I know, we get
• 44:26
Speaker 2: East End yard Sale, the one hundred seven to Stephen
• 44:29
Speaker 2: Jenny yard sales, I know up in Ripley, So a
• 44:31
Speaker 2: few of our folks are going to be up in
• 44:33
Speaker 2: Ripley early that morning for the Tunnels of Tunnel to
• 44:38
Speaker 2: Towers event. But you've got time to go to that,
• 44:40
Speaker 2: go to all those things and still make Foam to
• 44:42
Speaker 2: do because you started at three is that ver three o'clock.
• 44:44
Speaker 20: That's why I mean, we're so excited that we brought
• 44:46
Speaker 20: this event back to Mother's Day weekend. That's initially for
• 44:48
Speaker 20: the first several years, that's when it was and we
• 44:50
Speaker 20: as you recall, we had to move it a couple
• 44:52
Speaker 20: of times just because of scheduling or because of weather.
• 44:55
Speaker 20: And we're really happy that it's back on this weekend
• 44:58
Speaker 20: because we pair it with the East End Yards Sale.
• 45:00
Speaker 20: Our friends at the east In Community Association work really
• 45:02
Speaker 20: hard to plan that event. That event brings out thousands
• 45:05
Speaker 20: upon thousands of people to the full East End neighborhood,
• 45:08
Speaker 20: and a lot of those folks, we hope, and we know,
• 45:11
Speaker 20: you know, they walk right down the boulevard and join us.
• 45:14
Speaker 20: We're fun with the numb at three o'clock.
• 45:15
Speaker 2: Now for those that have never been to fuone with them.
• 45:17
Speaker 2: Give us the premer, they give us the basic what
• 45:19
  Speaker 2: goes on there?
• 45:21
Speaker 20: You you get if you were planning to attend, you come.
• 45:24
Speaker 20: If you already bought your ticket, which we hope you have.
• 45:26
Speaker 20: You come in, You get your ticket scan that's right,
• 45:28
  Speaker 20: get them early.
• 45:28
Speaker 12: Get in noww dot work, that's right.
• 45:31
Speaker 20: Go to dot com dot com, pham CWUV dot com.
• 45:34
Speaker 20: They're available now. Still still several tickets available, but they
• 45:37
Speaker 20: are going fast. But no, you you come in, you
• 45:39
Speaker 20: get your ticket scanned, You get your wristband. If you're
• 45:41
Speaker 20: a VIP of course, that starts at three o'clock. You
• 45:44
Speaker 20: pay fifty five dollars for your VIP ticket. You get
• 45:46
Speaker 20: your VIP wrist band, you get your sample cup, you
• 45:48
Speaker 20: get access to the VIP beer tent and table, you
• 45:52
Speaker 20: get an extra hour of the event. If you're a
• 45:54
Speaker 20: general admission, you come at four o'clock, get your green wristband,
• 45:58
Speaker 20: and you know, enjoy the event, and everybody enjoys it
• 46:01
Speaker 20: till seven o'clock. We have live entertainment at each end
• 46:04
Speaker 20: of the event. This year, DJ EJ will be joining
• 46:07
Speaker 20: us at in the VIP area once again, and then
• 46:10
Speaker 20: we have our large stage that we'll we call the
• 46:12
Speaker 20: East Stage with two performing bands that will be that
• 46:15
Speaker 20: will be playing the entire time. And of course our
• 46:17
Speaker 20: wonderful on air person out Is will be joining us
• 46:19
  Speaker 20: throughout the time.
• 46:19
Speaker 2: You got this year.
• 46:21
Speaker 12: You got to be there.
• 46:24
Speaker 2: I'll be there, Steve Animal will be there. I mean,
• 46:27
Speaker 2: just about all of us are there, the whole the
• 46:29
Speaker 2: whole He Hall gang is there, you know pretty much
• 46:31
Speaker 2: at one point. And for those because every year when
• 46:33
Speaker 2: I've interviewed you guys and again we're talking about foone
• 46:35
Speaker 2: with them, there's been people saying I'm not a beer person.
• 46:38
Speaker 2: It's did not my thing. Come out anyway, because it's
• 46:41
Speaker 2: not just about the beer, it's about everything that goes
• 46:42
  Speaker 2: along with it.
• 46:43
  Speaker 1: Lauren.
• 46:43
Speaker 12: Yeah, and then that's we offer a free designated driver ticket. Yeah,
• 46:49
Speaker 12: so you show up at the gate, tell us that
• 46:50
Speaker 12: you're a designated driver, We give you a red wrist band.
• 46:54
Speaker 12: You can walk through, enjoy the event just like everybody else.
• 46:57
Speaker 12: You can get food from all fifteen of the food
• 46:59
Speaker 12: ven walk around, see your friends, be there with people.
• 47:04
Speaker 12: This year super exciting. It's not looking like it's going
• 47:06
Speaker 12: to be too hot. But this year we're going to
• 47:07
Speaker 12: have a KRT cooling bus, which we're super excited about
• 47:12
Speaker 12: that new partnership for this coming year. So you can
• 47:16
Speaker 12: stroll on board a bus and enjoy the AC for.
• 47:20
  Speaker 1: A little bit.
• 47:20
Speaker 12: And you don't need to be drinking to do that.
• 47:22
Speaker 12: You don't need to be drinking to enjoy the AC.
• 47:24
Speaker 2: And that's the thing about it, because a lot of
• 47:26
  Speaker 2: people say, look, I don't, I'm not I'm not a drinker.
• 47:28
Speaker 2: One where I'm not. This is not this is the
• 47:31
Speaker 2: main part of it. But you can come out and
• 47:33
Speaker 2: enjoy it, whether you drink beer, whether you drink something
• 47:35
Speaker 2: else or whether you drink water, it doesn't matter. And
• 47:37
Speaker 2: you get all these food vendors, who are some of
• 47:39
Speaker 2: the food vendors we have this year just to I mean,
• 47:41
Speaker 2: we're happy to report Gil's Pit Beef is back.
• 47:43
Speaker 20: Apparently Jenny over at ME one hundred, that's like her
• 47:46
Speaker 20: favorite man, I think in the in the entire state
• 47:49
Speaker 20: is mister Tom Gilbert with Gills Pit Beef.
• 47:51
Speaker 12: But I mean Eli's and Panada's, wash Pit, Munchies, Moonies,
• 47:56
Speaker 12: beg street talk, the street talk goes Baker's Cookie.
• 48:00
  Speaker 2: It's all there.
• 48:00
Speaker 1: I mean, we sugar shanty, pop porn.
• 48:03
Speaker 12: If you've been to an event and you've had a
• 48:05
Speaker 12: food truck that you've loved, they will likely.
• 48:08
Speaker 2: Be That's right the dome now. In order to pull
• 48:10
Speaker 2: this off, because you have to have sponsorships, and I
• 48:13
Speaker 2: know the folks that in COVID depth and several others
• 48:15
Speaker 2: have as well. But I want to talk about the
• 48:17
Speaker 2: need for volunteers, because you need volunteers to pull this
• 48:20
Speaker 2: thing off. Talk about it.
• 48:22
  Speaker 12: We sure do.
• 48:22
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 48:23
Speaker 12: So obviously we have incredible distributors, local breweries that show
• 48:28
Speaker 12: up and show up with the beer. But then we
• 48:31
Speaker 12: need people to pour the beer, and we need people
• 48:33
Speaker 12: to make sure the breweries all have ice and there
• 48:36
Speaker 12: are waters in the water bins. And if you've been
• 48:40
Speaker 12: to Foam, you've seen Reck and I running around and
• 48:42
Speaker 12: we are working hard, but there's only so much the
• 48:44
Speaker 12: two of us can do, and so we rely heavily
• 48:47
Speaker 12: on volunteers to pour beer for us.
• 48:50
Speaker 2: Check out the wrist bands, make sure everything's next.
• 48:52
Speaker 12: Ristbands, scan tickets, I mean, anything that you can think
• 48:55
Speaker 12: of that would help make an event run smoothly. We
• 48:57
Speaker 12: rely on volunteers for it, and we get to see
• 49:01
Speaker 12: familiar faces every single year come back and do that.
• 49:03
Speaker 12: So we still do need volunteers, and it does come
• 49:06
Speaker 12: with its own perks, which is also great. You get
• 49:08
Speaker 12: a VIP wristband, which is fantastic, so you get access
• 49:11
Speaker 12: to all of the VIP beers. If your shift isn't
• 49:14
Speaker 12: till five thirty, you can show up but three with
• 49:16
Speaker 12: all the other VIP folks and hang out with the event.
• 49:20
Speaker 12: We're doing T shirts this year. T shirts are back.
• 49:23
Speaker 12: I'll take one then three years I think since we've
• 49:26
Speaker 12: had T shirts and they are a hot commodity. So
• 49:29
Speaker 12: you get a food voucher. I mean you really you
• 49:32
Speaker 12: can sip your beer while you're pooring other folks beer.
• 49:34
Speaker 2: So it is just don't drink out of theirs, don't
• 49:37
Speaker 2: drink out of theirs. Yeah, Steve Animal just saying, so you.
• 49:42
Speaker 12: Get all of the perks of the event while standing
• 49:45
Speaker 12: in the shade and helping the event run.
• 49:46
Speaker 2: Smooth well last year. And I don't know who's coming
• 49:48
Speaker 2: this year, I mean as far as because there's I mean,
• 49:50
Speaker 2: I mean almost everybody in Charleston or the Canal Valley,
• 49:53
Speaker 2: as you said, ten to fifteen other states are there.
• 49:55
Speaker 2: The governor just kind of strolled in last year.
• 49:57
  Speaker 1: With his dog.
• 49:58
Speaker 2: Got to I got to meet Roady, the Governor's dog.
• 50:00
Speaker 20: Think I was standing with you, and yeah, he just
• 50:02
Speaker 20: walked in with Roady.
• 50:04
Speaker 2: So you never know who's going to show. How do
• 50:06
Speaker 2: people sign up to beer get more?
• 50:08
Speaker 12: That's your great question. So you can go to our
• 50:11
Speaker 12: Facebook page or our website. It's pretty front and center
• 50:15
Speaker 12: and we have I think a pinned post on there
• 50:17
  Speaker 12: about how.
• 50:17
Speaker 2: To VOLUNTEERMCWV dot com.
• 50:20
Speaker 12: Yes, absolutely, and we have several different shifts and so
• 50:24
Speaker 12: if you pour beer or scan tickets for the first shift,
• 50:29
Speaker 12: you get the second shift. Completely, just to roam the
• 50:32
Speaker 12: event and be there for free and enjoy yourself. And
• 50:34
Speaker 12: then obviously if you sign up for the second shift,
• 50:37
Speaker 12: you can show up at three o'clock and enjoy the
• 50:39
Speaker 12: event beforehand and then work your shift starting it.
• 50:43
Speaker 2: I believe it's fire and it is just a big
• 50:45
Speaker 2: old party and it's a great time. Life can change
• 50:48
Speaker 2: between now and the meteorologist Brian he is working on
• 50:50
Speaker 2: the weather and it looks pretty good from what I've
• 50:53
Speaker 2: understood what I understand this point, so that's that's good news,
• 50:56
Speaker 2: and it's just again it's just a good time. One
• 51:00
Speaker 2: of the most beautiful locations right there on you know,
• 51:03
Speaker 2: in front of the Capital, as you said, overlooking the
• 51:04
Speaker 2: Canal River. It's just a great, great time. Foam CWV
• 51:07
  Speaker 2: dot Comrae.
• 51:08
Speaker 20: Yeah, and quick reminder, we brought back for the second
• 51:11
Speaker 20: year Foam after the dough. I'm sure you remember this day.
• 51:13
Speaker 20: But we have again fifteen local businesses participating. So when
• 51:17
Speaker 20: you leave the event, keep your wristband on if you're
• 51:20
Speaker 20: plenty to go downtown over to the west Side or
• 51:22
Speaker 20: the East end. We have fifteen different local businesses, whether
• 51:25
Speaker 20: they're restaurant's, breweries, pubs that are offering drink specials, food
• 51:29
Speaker 20: specials for any phone at the dome attend. Just keep
• 51:31
Speaker 20: your wristband on. You'll get access to those specials. And
• 51:33
Speaker 20: that goes from seven pm till the close of that establishment.
• 51:35
Speaker 2: All right, and we're hoping if schedules work out. I
• 51:38
Speaker 2: know you guys are really busy. We'll try to have
