Melifonwu Heads to Buccaneers | Syracuse Orangemen Football News
Ifeatu Melifonwu, the former Syracuse defensive back, is headed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his sixth NFL season, joining fellow Orange alumni. Drafted by the Lions in 2021, he spent four seasons there before a breakout year with Miami in 2023, starting eight games and recording a career-high 53 tackles. His PFF grade ranked him middle-of-the-pack among safeties, showing strong pass coverage but room to grow in run support.
