  [SPEAKER_00]: Right now we're talking more about the Jacksonville Jaguar's blockbuster trades sending Tyson Campbell and a seventh round pick from the Philadelphia Eagles, two, the Cleveland Browns and exchange for Greg Newsom and a sixth round pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom down on the bottom of the screen here, lined up in man coverage.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars, they run about 15% man coverage in that range and things can shake out differently throughout the remainder of the season, but that's where they're at right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So there will be some man coverage opportunities, especially in clear passing situation when the Jaguars won't heat up the quarterback.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Greg knew some just following his receiver all the way across the field, which is not an easy thing to do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're having to obviously use your eyes to navigate through all this muck, all the mess, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you see him staying in phase, staying confident, watching his man.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As soon as the receiver starts to break down, you see his hip fluidity, his ability to plant.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Extremely fluid has ability to stop.

  [SPEAKER_00]: gather, changed directions, the receiver slips on this play, but even if the receiver didn't slip, look at the position Greg Newsom gets himself into to potentially make a play on that football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the ball is in the right spot for the receiver, which again, I think this was probably a decent throw, but the receiver slips coming out of his break.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But even if the receiver did not slip, Greg Newsom is driving.

  [SPEAKER_00]: All the plays we're looking at here are from last week's game against the Minnesota Vikings in London.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of Cleveland Brown's fans have complained about him dancing and celebrating whatever I like the energy that Greg News brings.

  [SPEAKER_00]: See something good happen and get fired up about it So that's something that popped out to me on film too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We've got some run defense from Greg Newsome the newest Jacksonville Jack war and this is really cool because you'll see Greg Newsome

  [SPEAKER_00]: looks for a moment as if he's in man coverage, but it's actually more of a either zone or man match concept here and it's against the run anyways, but this play is earlier than the previous play that we reviewed where Greg knew some follows number one across the entire field, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: On this one, he stops at the edge and the coverage player over on the other side of the

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, that's just kind of a nice wrinkle that Jim Schwartz added and I know we're not doing a Jim Schwartz film room, but Kudos to Jim Schwartz for, you know, tendency breaking, showing one thing, and then switching it up the next time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But the point of this play is Greg Newsom's run defense, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Unblocked player here, Greg Newsom is, they just don't have the numbers here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: the fluidity with which he moves, the aggressiveness that he plays with.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is getting in there and attacking, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And this is not a run defense play that shows like his physicality.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It just shows his speed, his aggression, the type of player, the type of energy that he brings to the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and his ability to get in there and make that tackle and start swinging Jordan Mason around actually allowed 91 defensive end defensive linemen to 91 is up here, it allowed him to get into a spot to punch the ball out as Jordan Mason's falling to the ground.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and Greg knew some's play on that effectively helped force a turnover.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't punch it out himself, but he got Jordan Mason in position to have the ball punched out as he's falling to the ground.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, big time play from Greg knew some there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And this is the main event folks, Greg Newsome, on an island against Justin Jefferson, one of the top two receivers in football, he might not be two.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As the balls in the air, we're locating, we're locating the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We are jogging for a position without using our hands.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're never going to draw past and our parents the way we're defending here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're using your strength and physicality to run through the receiver to put the receiver in a disadvantageous position and then at the catch point, the hand is in between the receivers

  [SPEAKER_00]: That is as good as it gets right there, down the field and located.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, this is not an anti-ticing Campbell, ticing Campbell's no good show.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But what Tyson Campbell struggled with was locating the ball down the field while moving at full speed.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Right here, you see the football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You turn your head back around, you locate where.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Your opponent is, you get your hand out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Your left hand is right in there when Justin Jefferson is trying to make that catch.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That is as good as it gets against the best receiver in football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you get up and you let everybody know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm here for that energy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So for me, watching that film room, watching what he did against the Minnesota Vikings last week and watching him, you know, from afar throughout his whole NFL career, Greg Newsom is the type of player that brings the fluidity at the corner back position, the ball skills at the corner back position, and the aggression, and kind of that sicko energy, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: That, that, you know, I'm the best player on the field and I'm going to let you know about it that a lot of

  [SPEAKER_00]: short memory that you need.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, this is a player that to me is an upgrade over Tyson Campbell.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is more fluid.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's better at tracking the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I see a lot of people talking about scheme.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom so much better suited for a zone scheme and Tyson Campbell's better suited for a man's scheme for get scheme.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsome is a better cornerback at covering receivers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's better at covering wide receivers than Tyson Campbell is at covering wide receivers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Point blank and of story.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's my strong opinion on this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, Tyson Campbell, probably more physical against the run, more physical coming downhill, but Greg Newsom can do those things as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't show any of this on film because it's not as exciting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But there's a lot of plays where, you know, he's one on one with a receiver.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And it's a run play and he's fighting through that block.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's fighting through that contact for sure.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I look at the way that he can play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: against the run, as a cover corner, which he is a much better cover corner in my opinion than Tyson Campbell, his fluidity and which he can move the confidence I think he shows and the ability to locate the ball, it's just better.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now when it comes to the future, the

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are actually according to Rhino, however, in eating 19 million of dead cap in 2026 on this one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, it doesn't necessarily free up 2026 cap space for the Jaguars by moving on from Tyson Campbell, which I believe it would.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What it does do is give the Jaguars over $50 million total in cap space over 2027 and 2028.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So while it's not freeing up 2026 cap space, it is freeing up the cap space you need to sign players in 2026 for the future, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: The year one cap hit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: on new contracts is the smallest year of the cap hit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So when you look at the Jack Wars Potentially, whatever they want to do, whoever they want to sign, whether that be their own players, Devon Lloyd, Trayvon Walker, Travis C.T.N., Greg Newsom, who's up for a new contract after the year, or whether it be outside free agents, whatever it might be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it should be the end house guys personally.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The year one capit in 2026 is going to be the smallest capit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's the year they need the least flexibility from the Tyson Campbell trade or from any potential move.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They needed more flexibility for 27, 28.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's when you're starting to see a lot of big money with Trevor and some others.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So from a cap flexibility standpoint, this was a huge move for the Jaguar.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You don't have as much cat flexibility, but Tyson Campbell's a player that was struggling to cover receivers down the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom is not going to struggle to cover receivers down the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You also have Travis Hunter is starting to play incredible football for the Jack Wars on both sides.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You also have Buster Brown who is back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Jari and Jones as well and Jordan Lewis is the nickel who can also play outside.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguar is now having a really good corner back room.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think regardless of scheme, Greg knew some brings the type of energy, the type of effort, the attitude that the Jaguar is want on their football team, especially the corner back position.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I really am and I do think again, even though this doesn't give

  [SPEAKER_00]: should they want to.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And there are a number of potentially cap saving moves for the Jaguars following the 2025 campaign.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I look at, we can bring it up real quick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars, 2026 cap table is now looking at, they have $20 million in projected cap space, $20.5 million in projected cap space, which will likely rise.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Um, just with the salary capitalizing every single year, but again, number of moves that they need to make.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They need to absolutely keep Trayvon Walker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think they need to try to keep Devon Lloyd and probably Travis E. T. N. I would understand if they don't want to do Travis E. T. N. Because running backs, you know, those contracts oftentimes age poorly, you have to running backs in your system.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have a lot of draft picks to be able to go and add another running back as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you want to move on from for you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I just, I can't do it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if they didn't want to do post-June one, they could save $10 million on for you, Lou, it can's 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, post-June one means you don't get that cap relief until June one, but the player gets to go sign elsewhere and whatever they're not held up, but you're held up on having that cap space until June one, which is fine, not a big deal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Devon Hamilton post June one, the Jaguar save 8.435 million dollars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that they're going to want to get get rid of Devon because he's been playing good football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: 14.5 million dollars, if they decide to move on from Eric Armstrong's dead post June 1, also as a Cleveland 7.75 million dollars, and I think Cleveland's been playing really well for them, but they've got some dudes waiting in the winks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, going to be fascinating to see how they operate, but they have a lot of cap flexibility beyond, um,

  [SPEAKER_00]: 2025, you know, end to 2026, and then this gives them even more flexibility to make moves because of what it does for 2027 and 2028.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that was the biggest factor for the Jack Wars was getting Greg Newsom in this building because he is a better corner at covering than Tyson Campbell.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But guess what, corners don't get paid to defend the run they get paid to shut down opposing receivers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I was a big Greg knew some fan, and I still like the way he plays.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a guy that can get his hands on the ball more than Tyson Campbell, and I think that Anthony Camponele is gonna like coaching him a lot.
