- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, Heidi Ho, welcome to a Tuesday, May 26th, and
- 0:05Speaker 1: we actually have a day with some sunshine in my
- 0:07Speaker 1: neck of the woods, and it isn't raining. How about that? Boy,
- 0:10Speaker 1: it has just been so saturated this spring. I don't
- 0:14Speaker 1: know where you might be listening to us, but we
- 0:17Speaker 1: have just had one wet, wet, wet April and May.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Just raining just a ton in my neck of the woods,
- 0:24Speaker 1: and the ground is so saturated that it's kind of
- 0:26Speaker 1: nice to see today. The sun is shining. It's 81 degrees,
- 0:30Speaker 1: and it's not raining. So hopefully, it looks like we're
- 0:32Speaker 1: going to have maybe a shower here and there, but
- 0:35Speaker 1: it should be for the most part. A drier week,
- 0:39Speaker 1: to say the least, and things can start to dry out,
- 0:42Speaker 1: which it's about time, right? We're going to be June
- 0:44Speaker 1: 1st coming up here in, what's, four, five days before
- 0:50Speaker 1: we get to the first of the month, before we
- 0:51Speaker 1: go from May to June.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:54Speaker 1: So anyway, it is what it is. Welcome one and all.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I believe we'll be with you tonight till around 530
- 1:01Speaker 1: because the Guardians are on. Boy, did the Cavaliers get
- 1:04Speaker 1: just slammed last night. Oh, my God. It was just
- 1:09Speaker 1: painful to watch. I mean, it was absolutely painful to
- 1:13Speaker 1: watch it all happen. Yeah, we'll be with you until
- 1:15Speaker 1: 5.30 tonight. Then the Guardians take to the airwaves. with
- 1:18Speaker 1: the pregame show and first pitch around 6 o'clock. As always,
- 1:22Speaker 1: my top secret number for you is 330-729-9977.
- 1:23Speaker 3: 330-729-9977.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Feels like a Monday, but it's a Tuesday.
- 1:25Speaker 4: 330-729-9977.
- 1:25Speaker 5: 330-729-9977.
- 1:25Speaker 1: From NewsRadio 570, WKVN. What is on your minds here
- 1:28Speaker 1: as we start today? Hello, you're on the air. Good afternoon, Mr.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Verbe.
- 1:48Speaker 6: Yes, sir.
- 1:48Speaker 1: May I help you? You're on the air.
- 1:50Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:51Speaker 7: How are you today?
- 1:52Speaker 1: I'm well. It's J.J. the Liberal.
- 1:55Speaker 7: How was your holiday?
- 1:57Speaker 1: It was fine. I always enjoy those three-day weekends. I mean,
- 2:00Speaker 1: you've got to love Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. You've just
- 2:02Speaker 1: got to love it.
- 2:04Speaker 7: Yeah, it kind of takes you off your game, but.
- 2:06Speaker 1: It's still a nice day. It's so relaxing, though. I mean,
- 2:10Speaker 1: it's just, even though we had a lot of rain,
- 2:13Speaker 1: what was it, Saturday?
- 2:15Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Or saturday or sunday or whatever but we had a
- 2:19Speaker 1: lot of rain but sometimes uh overcast rainy days i
- 2:23Speaker 1: just sit there in the front porch and i take
- 2:25Speaker 1: it all in my friends.
- 2:26Speaker 7: Taking it my dad loved it to do that to
- 2:28Speaker 7: sit back and he said those are the nice days
- 2:30Speaker 7: to sit back and take naps you know.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I've just just taken in nature taking in mother nature And.
- 2:37Speaker 7: I just want to thank all the service members out there.
- 2:40Speaker 7: I want to give you a belated thank you for
- 2:42Speaker 7: your service in providing us all the ability to do
- 2:45Speaker 7: what we're doing right now and the freedoms that we
- 2:48Speaker 7: unfortunately sometimes take for granted. So if anybody's out there,
- 2:50Speaker 7: thank you very much for the opportunity. your service and
- 2:55Speaker 7: your sacrifice, your ultimate sacrifice. So, anyway, I wanted to
- 2:59Speaker 7: touch base on a couple things. Obviously, the big thing
- 3:03Speaker 7: about that shooter, and I wanted to talk to you
- 3:06Speaker 7: about that.
- 3:07Speaker 1: All right. So, which shooter?
- 3:10Speaker 7: The guy that was hit by the White House. All right.
- 3:16Speaker 1: What about him?
- 3:18Speaker 7: Well, the thing is, first of all, it wasn't an
- 3:20Speaker 7: assassination attempt. They kind of want to put it as
- 3:22Speaker 7: a I have some problems with it because the FBI
- 3:28Speaker 7: and the Washington police knew about this guy for a
- 3:31Speaker 7: long time, and he was just off. He was always,
- 3:34Speaker 7: every time he got arrested, for being too close to
- 3:37Speaker 7: the White House, he would always say, I'm Jesus, and
- 3:40Speaker 7: he was just not right. And every time he was arrested,
- 3:43Speaker 7: he never possessed a gun. And they claim that this
- 3:47Speaker 7: time he came out and he started to shoot, and
- 3:50Speaker 7: he was almost a quarter mile away from the White House.
- 3:53Speaker 7: And the thing is, if you listen to the tape
- 3:56Speaker 7: of the guns going off, whenever I've ever seen police
- 4:02Speaker 7: officers and gunmen get into a shootout, you always hear
- 4:07Speaker 7: a hesitation between the gunplay. You always hear bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang,
- 4:12Speaker 7: you know, them moving about each other. Taking shots. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 4:21Speaker 7: That is not, that is, I mean, maybe you guys
- 4:25Speaker 7: are all thinking, rolling your eyes, but think about that.
- 4:27Speaker 7: That means you have, you're done on something that's stationary. Okay,
- 4:32Speaker 7: and I'm not going to go.
- 4:33Speaker 8: Anywhere more than that.
- 4:34Speaker 7: You can take it what you think I'm meaning by this. Anyway,
- 4:41Speaker 7: the other thing is that the last two days that
- 4:44Speaker 7: Trump has been talking about his ballroom, I personally believe
- 4:49Speaker 7: it's a bunker. Because he said yesterday that there's a
- 4:53Speaker 7: drone capacity, that it's six floors down, that it has
- 4:58Speaker 7: meeting rooms, and that's all this. So the idea of
- 5:01Speaker 7: it being, quote-unquote, a ballroom where you think that it's
- 5:04Speaker 7: going to be like 1700s France where him and Melania
- 5:08Speaker 7: are going to be dancing around with everybody is not
- 5:10Speaker 7: what it is. It is a bunker, Ron.
- 5:13Speaker 1: OK, I would imagine when you think there's a bunker
- 5:17Speaker 1: already under the White House.
- 5:19Speaker 5: I mean, what I'm saying, I agree.
- 5:20Speaker 7: I agree with you. I knew you were going to
- 5:22Speaker 7: say that. And I there is one. But why would
- 5:24Speaker 7: there be this? Why would you need a ballroom that
- 5:27Speaker 7: goes six floors down?
- 5:29Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It could be for whatever you mentioned. I really don't know.
- 5:34Speaker 1: They haven't shared the plans with me. I doubt if
- 5:37Speaker 1: they're going to let you know if there's a bunker
- 5:40Speaker 1: under there.
- 5:41Speaker 7: These things have been on my mind. And the other
- 5:43Speaker 7: thing is, I want to let you know that I'm
- 5:48Speaker 7: sorry that there are people that uh... have been supportive
- 5:54Speaker 7: of you uh... and then now our are uh..
- 5:58Speaker 1: It's going to.
- 5:59Speaker 7: Go rock catch it and all you're doing is you're
- 6:01Speaker 7: saying that you said many times i support trump i
- 6:04Speaker 7: would vote for trump again that i i wanted policies
- 6:07Speaker 7: by getting the people of the country and that you
- 6:10Speaker 7: want uh... the the economy to be better that you
- 6:14Speaker 7: are being honest and since you you are challenging justine
- 6:19Speaker 7: the acting in the people of the war <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 6:40Speaker 7: Because I don't know if you can understand what I'm saying,
- 6:43Speaker 7: but people, they just attack you from above the news.
- 6:47Speaker 7: And Jeffrey, the other day, was talking about in your face.
- 6:50Speaker 7: And again, these are people that are upset also. But
- 6:54Speaker 7: I just... I understand that it has bothered me that
- 6:59Speaker 7: people are attacking you when all you're doing is asking questions,
- 7:03Speaker 7: and that is what a person's supposed to do.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I'm not going to be one of those guys that
- 7:10Speaker 1: says anything that Trump does, I agree with 100%, because
- 7:14Speaker 1: that means you're checking your brain at the door. So
- 7:17Speaker 1: we shall see. I mean, I'm... I'm still concerned. I mean,
- 7:20Speaker 1: this is dragging on. They were once again talking about
- 7:24Speaker 1: how it sounded like everything was done except dotting the
- 7:27Speaker 1: I's and crossing the T's on this latest agreement. And
- 7:31Speaker 1: now it appears that, well, there isn't any agreement, or
- 7:35Speaker 1: if there is at all, it's fallen apart. Who knows
- 7:39Speaker 1: where this is happening?
- 7:41Speaker 7: I don't think this is a war at all. It
- 7:43Speaker 7: has no characteristics of a war. I believe this is
- 7:47Speaker 7: all a power grab for money from all the countries.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I really think about it.
- 7:52Speaker 7: Any war that we've ever experienced or seen, this is
- 7:56Speaker 7: not the description or the characteristics of what you would
- 7:59Speaker 7: call a war. I mean, every now and then there'll
- 8:02Speaker 7: be some strikes, but it isn't. It doesn't feel right, Ron.
- 8:06Speaker 7: And I'm going to let you leave it off with
- 8:08Speaker 7: that because other people want to call. But I just
- 8:10Speaker 7: wanted to throw those couple things out there and just
- 8:12Speaker 7: listen to that gun play again. And you let me
- 8:14Speaker 7: know next time I talk to you what you think.
- 8:16Speaker 8: Okay, buddy?
- 8:17Speaker 1: Thank you. It's J.J. the Liberal starting things off on
- 8:19Speaker 1: this Tuesday. News Radio 570, WDQ. You're on the air.
- 8:24Speaker 8: Hello, Ron.
- 8:25Speaker 1: That's Fort Lauderdale, Frank.
- 8:28Speaker 9: Ron, I want to talk to you out the air.
- 8:32Speaker 9: I'll stay on hold until you get a station break.
- 8:35Speaker 10: Yes.
- 8:35Speaker 9: But I think you'll be interested in what I have
- 8:39Speaker 9: to tell you.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I probably would be. Now I'm intrigued. You're not going
- 8:42Speaker 1: to tell me that you want to break up or
- 8:45Speaker 1: anything like that, do you? I mean, it's not going
- 8:47Speaker 1: to be bad news.
- 8:49Speaker 9: No, it's actually a serious matter.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Well, I look forward to talking to you
- 8:57Speaker 1: about that. Let me see. S & P' s up today.
- 9:00Speaker 1: NASDAQ's up today. And the Russell's up today. The Dow
- 9:05Speaker 1: is down. So let's see. S & P 500, NASDAQ
- 9:10Speaker 1: capitulated to new highs by Micron and Tech. as traders
- 9:15Speaker 1: monitor shaky Iran. Yeah, they were just saying the other day,
- 9:18Speaker 1: they gave you the impression that another deal was really close,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and then that's kind of evaporated.
- 9:24Speaker 11: Isn't it?
- 9:24Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, exactly. And in fact, I can't mention the stock,
- 9:32Speaker 9: but one of the MAG-7s that I am holding for
- 9:38Speaker 9: my girlfriend and friends, it went up... A huge amount today.
- 9:46Speaker 1: See, there you go. You've got to keep those young
- 9:48Speaker 1: women happy.
- 9:48Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I mean, it's not easy, the pressure that you're under
- 9:53Speaker 1: with these young chicks and that kind of stuff. I'm
- 9:56Speaker 1: just saying, let's see, this thing, every time I hear it.
- 10:00Speaker 1: some type of agreement is close, and you were hearing
- 10:02Speaker 1: it just, what, over the weekends or prior to the weekend,
- 10:05Speaker 1: and now it's like, okay, that's not happening. Where did
- 10:08Speaker 1: I see today where they said..
- 10:11Speaker 10: He's bombing again.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Yeah, where Trump summons full cabinets to Camp David as
- 10:17Speaker 1: Iran's ceasefire begins to fray. So every time they keep
- 10:21Speaker 1: talking about these ceasefires, they don't seem like they accomplish much.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Or any agreement.
- 10:27Speaker 9: Remember when he said that him and Iran were close
- 10:30Speaker 9: to an agreement?
- 10:31Speaker 1: Yes, yes. I guess they weren't.
- 10:34Speaker 9: And then what happened?
- 10:36Speaker 1: Apparently they're not.
- 10:37Speaker 9: He wants them to let their guard down, and he
- 10:40Speaker 9: turns around and bombs them again.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I don't know. We should just see what goes on here.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. You follow this. Here's what
- 10:49Speaker 1: I read, and tell me if this is true or
- 10:51Speaker 1: false when it comes to the price of oil. Right now,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I'm led to believe, and just tell me if I'm
- 10:59Speaker 1: on track or not, I'm led to believe that we
- 11:01Speaker 1: are depleting a lot of strategic oil reserves, including here
- 11:04Speaker 1: in the United States of America, but other countries as
- 11:06Speaker 1: well are depleting their strategic oil reserves to try to
- 11:10Speaker 1: keep oil prices... from skyrocketing even higher. So strategic oil
- 11:15Speaker 1: reserves and oil supplies are being drained to keep prices
- 11:20Speaker 1: where they are right now. As a matter of fact,
- 11:23Speaker 1: I've even been reading where people might see a difficulty
- 11:28Speaker 1: in buying oil at the auto parts store or Walmart
- 11:31Speaker 1: or something like that, where you go to buy a
- 11:34Speaker 1: gallon of oil for your car and this kind of
- 11:36Speaker 1: stuff that's The supply is getting more difficult, I guess
- 11:39Speaker 1: is what you'd say. It's becoming tighter because they're going
- 11:44Speaker 1: through all the reserves. Have you seen that or read that?
- 11:47Speaker 10: Oh, sure.
- 11:48Speaker 9: In fact, the headline news on MarketWatch today was that
- 11:53Speaker 9: China had more strategic reserves in oil than previously thought,
- 11:58Speaker 9: and that's the only thing keeping the price down. But
- 12:02Speaker 9: even though West Texas Intermediate was down today... global oil
- 12:07Speaker 9: prices measured by Brent crude were up.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so let me ask you this. I'll do a
- 12:13Speaker 1: little brain picking here.
- 12:16Speaker 9: Let me interrupt one second. California is saying they will
- 12:20Speaker 9: run out of gas in six weeks, and after that
- 12:24Speaker 9: we will see huge prices increases, and gas prices currently
- 12:29Speaker 9: exceed $ 6 a gallon on average, but a California official
- 12:34Speaker 9: said said so many Californians will be unable to afford
- 12:39Speaker 9: gas that prices will actually stabilize at $ 6. 50 a gallon
- 12:46Speaker 9: because people won't be able to.
- 12:48Speaker 8: Afford to drive.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Well, what choice do you have? I mean, to a
- 12:52Speaker 1: large extent, the gas prices in California are ridiculous to
- 12:54Speaker 1: begin with. But, I mean, you can certainly cut back
- 12:57Speaker 1: on some driving, but you've got to drive to work
- 12:59Speaker 1: and home, and you've got to drive to go get groceries.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I mean, you could cut down... You're driving if you
- 13:05Speaker 1: just drive for the necessity or combined trips. I get that.
- 13:09Speaker 1: But you're not going to be able to stop driving.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I guess you could carpool with a neighbor or something
- 13:13Speaker 1: like that. But gas prices have always been high in California.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So help me out here. They say that the oil,
- 13:21Speaker 1: and you might read this, the oil that we do
- 13:24Speaker 1: here in our country is the wrong, it's not the
- 13:28Speaker 1: right grade, if you will, for our refineries. Is that accurate,
- 13:34Speaker 1: that we need the oil from other countries to refine?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Does that make sense to you?
- 13:41Speaker 9: Well, our refineries are built to refine. I believe it's
- 13:48Speaker 9: heavy crude, yeah, not light sour or sweet crude like
- 13:52Speaker 9: you get from the Persian Gulf.
- 13:55Speaker 10: So, yes, we.
- 13:57Speaker 9: Import oil from other countries. not only for domestic consumption,
- 14:04Speaker 9: but after we've refined some of that oil we import,
- 14:08Speaker 9: we turn around and export to the countries.
- 14:11Speaker 10: That need it.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Right, like our oil is heavier or something, and it
- 14:15Speaker 1: has to go to other refineries, apparently, to get... It's
- 14:21Speaker 1: just the grade of the oil, as I understand it.
- 14:24Speaker 1: So anyway, that's what I've been reading. I didn't know
- 14:26Speaker 1: if you follow that, where basically they're saying that there is...
- 14:30Speaker 1: an oil shortage right now because of the supplies being
- 14:34Speaker 1: depleted to keep prices down, and that that's a ticking
- 14:39Speaker 1: time bomb with oil prices potentially as they decline going
- 14:44Speaker 1: up and oil becoming more scarce. Have you read that,
- 14:48Speaker 1: or am I full of BS?
- 14:50Speaker 9: No, I've read that, but here's another problem even worse
- 14:55Speaker 9: than that. Here's another article from a financial publication. Quote,
- 15:01Speaker 9: Trump might wreck your car engine in order to scarf
- 15:05Speaker 9: up votes from corn farmers. Speaking to farmers in Iowa,
- 15:10Speaker 9: he promised farmers that he would issue an executive order
- 15:13Speaker 9: requiring the selling of 15% ethanol gas year-round. This level
- 15:19Speaker 9: of alcohol ruins car engines and pollutes the air we breathe. And, Ron,
- 15:25Speaker 9: ethanol is made from corn, by the way.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, your car's got to be designed to be able
- 15:29Speaker 1: to take that. I mean, you'll see the sticker on
- 15:31Speaker 1: your car that says you can't put more than 10%
- 15:35Speaker 1: ethanol and gas in it. I mean, it's got to
- 15:38Speaker 1: be designed for it. Not everyone can do it. You're right,
- 15:41Speaker 1: if you're dumb. It can definitely cause havoc when it
- 15:45Speaker 1: comes to your car. I mean, it's going to be interesting.
- 15:48Speaker 1: All these peace agreements just seem to blow up. They
- 15:50Speaker 1: never seem to materialize. And we shall see what happens
- 15:54Speaker 1: with the dwindling oil supply and what the answer is
- 15:58Speaker 1: to get out of this mess. All right, hang in, Frank.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Let me get back to you momentarily. Call us in line.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Stand by. We're here till 530. Stay tuned. 570 WKBN.
- 16:10Speaker 1: All right, NewsRadio 570, WKBN and Ron Verb, Bit325. But
- 16:15Speaker 1: we shall see where things go. I'm led to believe
- 16:20Speaker 1: that if we can reach an agreement, the market will soar.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And so hopefully we'll reach an agreement. If not, it's
- 16:26Speaker 1: just going to be up and down constantly. It's going
- 16:30Speaker 1: to be volatility, right, Frank?
- 16:33Speaker 9: Well, yeah. In fact, that's what I was going to say,
- 16:35Speaker 9: because the market is mixed today because of So much uncertainty.
- 16:40Speaker 9: That's why we're seeing very volatile markets. But, you know,
- 16:44Speaker 9: I also want to mention about Trump and his family
- 16:49Speaker 9: making fortunes off of this.
- 16:54Speaker 6: War.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Now explain it to me. You're not the first. I
- 16:57Speaker 1: hear people saying this, that the Trump kids are keeping
- 17:00Speaker 1: a pretty low profile, that they're making a bunch of money.
- 17:03Speaker 1: How are they making all this money?
- 17:05Speaker 9: Well, for example, the New Yorker reported that Trump invested
- 17:09Speaker 9: in companies that are competing for federal government permits and funding,
- 17:14Speaker 9: has filed personal, multi-billion dollar lawsuits against banks regulated by
- 17:20Speaker 9: the Trump regime, then pressures the banks to settle out
- 17:25Speaker 9: of court to avoid paying more, and he leases his
- 17:29Speaker 9: name to resort hotels and golf courses, and claims there
- 17:33Speaker 9: is evidence that Trump sells pardons, according to The New Yorker,
- 17:38Speaker 9: and his net worth is now estimated to be between
- 17:41Speaker 9: $ 4 to $ 5 billion. But Rolling Stone reports an amazing
- 17:46Speaker 9: rise in the net worth of Trump's sons. They said
- 17:50Speaker 9: that historically a president and his appointees that possessed any
- 17:54Speaker 9: degree of wealth had to put their assets into a
- 17:57Speaker 9: blind trust. But Trump doesn't have a blind trust because
- 18:01Speaker 9: his Businesses are run by his sons. And Barron Trump
- 18:07Speaker 9: made $ 135 million in one day recently. And China's President
- 18:15Speaker 9: Xi Jinping told Trump that America is a declining power
- 18:20Speaker 9: because there is no longer any moral principle in our government.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I hope I make you wonder. All right, Fort Lauderdale.
- 18:31Speaker 9: But let me say real quick, I mean, I said
- 18:33Speaker 9: the same thing when that 26-man cabal was running the
- 18:37Speaker 9: Biden administration. They didn't care about running the government. All
- 18:42Speaker 9: they cared about was enriching themselves. We basically had no executive.
- 18:48Speaker 9: Nobody was running the government. They were just grifting and
- 18:52Speaker 9: making themselves rich.
- 18:54Speaker 8: Yep.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Thank you, buddy. Appreciate it. Have a good day. News
- 18:57Speaker 1: Radio 570 WKBN. And wait a second here. Let me
- 19:00Speaker 1: do this. And Ron Verb, you're on the air.
- 19:03Speaker 10: Hey there. Good afternoon.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 19:08Speaker 10: Now that we've got Blanche in here, or whatever his
- 19:10Speaker 10: name is, all of a sudden the Epstein files disappear.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Oh, you mean the new Attorney General?
- 19:18Speaker 10: Yeah, the new Attorney General, yes.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Stand by. Let me do my headlines. I'll come right
- 19:23Speaker 1: back to you. Long segment with this caller coming up.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I want to hear what he has to say. And
- 19:26Speaker 1: then callers in line, stand by. Welcome to a Tuesday afternoon.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Just going to talk about the new Attorney General and
- 19:33Speaker 1: what happened to the Epstein files. Should be interesting. Coming
- 19:36Speaker 1: up right after this. It's 82.
- 19:37Speaker 12: News Radio 570. WKVN.
- 19:39Speaker 1: WKVN.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Well, IDO 335 here on a Tuesday afternoon, May 26th.
- 19:45Speaker 1: We're at 82 degrees. Ron Verb from the Kingdom of
- 19:47Speaker 1: Mahoning with you until 530 tonight. Then the pregame as
- 19:51Speaker 1: the Guardians take to the airwaves again. All right, go ahead.
- 19:55Speaker 10: I don't understand. I mean, the Epstein fouls come through.
- 19:59Speaker 10: They're disappeared. Then on top of that, with this new
- 20:02Speaker 10: deal he's trying to make to pay off the people
- 20:04Speaker 10: he thought there was being hurt by the courts unjustifiably, Now,
- 20:09Speaker 10: they're going to get that money if our weak-kneed representatives
- 20:14Speaker 10: in Washington, D.C. allow it. So far, they've pretty much
- 20:18Speaker 10: kind of let him have his own move.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Well, now back up. As I tell people when I
- 20:24Speaker 1: talk about this settlement, remember what happened to Trump and
- 20:27Speaker 1: why there was a settlement. An employee at the IRS
- 20:30Speaker 1: leaked his personal tax returns. As I've said to people before,
- 20:33Speaker 1: it was Trump, Sean Hannity. I forget the other names
- 20:37Speaker 1: that were involved. And all what you'd consider conservatives, if
- 20:40Speaker 1: you will. Well, that's against the law. That is private.
- 20:44Speaker 1: And it irritates me. I don't care who it is.
- 20:47Speaker 1: That's your private business. And this guy stole that information,
- 20:51Speaker 1: gave it to the New York Times. And the New
- 20:53Speaker 1: York Times should have said, we're not going to publish
- 20:56Speaker 1: this because this is stolen. It's stolen material. But yet
- 21:00Speaker 1: the media, they all... went with it. They didn't care
- 21:05Speaker 1: that the guy stole it. They hated Trump so much
- 21:08Speaker 1: that they published it. And then the other outlets could
- 21:12Speaker 1: report on it by saying, well, as the New York
- 21:14Speaker 1: Times reported, it should have never been published. And it
- 21:18Speaker 1: should never been published in the first place. I believe
- 21:20Speaker 1: Trump has a lawsuit against everyone that published that private information,
- 21:25Speaker 1: as well as the IRS. It was the IRS employee
- 21:28Speaker 1: that leaked the information. So that's where the lawsuit stems from.
- 21:33Speaker 1: So he was done an injustice, Justice Hannity was done
- 21:36Speaker 1: an injustice by some vindictive person who didn't like conservatives
- 21:40Speaker 1: that worked for the IRS. This is not what the,
- 21:43Speaker 1: this is what the settlement is about. So he took
- 21:47Speaker 1: the settlement to say, listen, give me this much money,
- 21:50Speaker 1: put it in a fund that can be used for
- 21:52Speaker 1: people that have been pinpointed by the government and so
- 21:57Speaker 1: that they can be made whole again. And in reality,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I think that there are people that have been pinpointed
- 22:04Speaker 1: by the government that should be made whole again. Listen,
- 22:07Speaker 1: I'm against the use of the IRS when– I don't
- 22:10Speaker 1: care if it's Republicans, Democrats went after reporters. If you remember,
- 22:14Speaker 1: I think Nixon did that. He's a Republican. And you
- 22:17Speaker 1: had Obama went after the Tea Party. Listen, this is
- 22:21Speaker 1: the Internal Revenue Service. It isn't there for these elected
- 22:24Speaker 1: officials to say, we're going to appoint people to it
- 22:27Speaker 1: so I can use it for a vindictive arm to
- 22:29Speaker 1: go after people, just as the Biden administration did when
- 22:35Speaker 1: it came to the regulators at the banks to try
- 22:37Speaker 1: to debank Trump. This isn't what government's all about. And
- 22:41Speaker 1: when it does that kind of stuff, The people should
- 22:44Speaker 1: be going to prison, and the government should be held
- 22:46Speaker 1: accountable to make those people whole. I have a difficult time,
- 22:51Speaker 1: like on January 6th, with some of these people that
- 22:53Speaker 1: were just law-abiding citizens. They weren't troublemakers, and they didn't
- 22:57Speaker 1: break any windows. And they walked in, and the police
- 23:00Speaker 1: didn't stop them, and they looked around, and they left,
- 23:03Speaker 1: almost like you would as a tourist. Now, should we
- 23:07Speaker 1: hunt them down and arrest them and put them in
- 23:10Speaker 1: jail and ruin their lives for– just walking in with
- 23:13Speaker 1: the police, not stopping him. And they were looking around
- 23:16Speaker 1: and then they left. They didn't steal Nancy Pelosi's podium.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I mean, some of the, some of this stuff got
- 23:21Speaker 1: out of hand politically. I'm tired of the politics involved
- 23:25Speaker 1: with judges or, or with the, the law fair or
- 23:31Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it, or using the IRS.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just, if you go on trial, you
- 23:37Speaker 1: call it. I want you to, the facts of your
- 23:40Speaker 1: cases to be heard and, And it doesn't matter if
- 23:43Speaker 1: you're a conservative or a liberal or a Democrat, Republican, independent.
- 23:46Speaker 1: It shouldn't matter. What are the facts of your case?
- 23:49Speaker 1: And you should be able to get a fair ruling
- 23:51Speaker 1: based on that. It should have nothing to do with politics,
- 23:54Speaker 1: nor should have anything to do with politics when we
- 23:57Speaker 1: sick the government on somebody like they did the Trump family.
- 24:00Speaker 1: So or some of these people from January 6th that
- 24:04Speaker 1: were certainly gone after in an aggressive fashion like we've
- 24:09Speaker 1: never seen before.
- 24:11Speaker 10: Okay. I'll agree partly on that. But you notice what
- 24:16Speaker 10: shortly came when he was supposed to, when he went
- 24:18Speaker 10: to sue, then he came back and said, I'll take
- 24:20Speaker 10: this amount. And he and his group get to pick
- 24:24Speaker 10: who gets the money and who don't. But this is
- 24:26Speaker 10: what the other part, in the fine print, in the
- 24:30Speaker 10: fine print, whatever he has done wrong... Right.
- 24:36Speaker 1: He got a pardon. He got– I agree with you
- 24:40Speaker 1: on the fine print totally. In other words, the IRS
- 24:42Speaker 1: won't look at him ever again or his family members
- 24:46Speaker 1: or his businesses. I'm in total agreement with you that–
- 24:51Speaker 1: keep in mind the attorney general was also Trump's personal lawyer.
- 24:54Speaker 1: And so his personal lawyer as the attorney general gave
- 24:57Speaker 1: him a total waiver– from the IRS ever inspecting anything
- 25:02Speaker 1: to do with him, his children, his businesses, period. And
- 25:06Speaker 1: as I've said on a program last week, if they
- 25:08Speaker 1: did that for Biden, every conservative would be bitching about it,
- 25:11Speaker 1: just as they should when they do it for the
- 25:13Speaker 1: Trump family, because they're not doing it for anybody else.
- 25:16Speaker 10: You're correct, but it just wasn't the Trump family. It's
- 25:19Speaker 10: the people in his cabinet also.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Well, it's his businesses and what have you that's Now,
- 25:26Speaker 1: the counterargument to that, and I'm not saying that there's
- 25:29Speaker 1: a counterargument, the counterargument is, look at the hell he's
- 25:32Speaker 1: been through as a result of politics. And I'm just,
- 25:36Speaker 1: as an American, I'm opposed to the politics that uses
- 25:40Speaker 1: the branches of government for evil purposes, to go after
- 25:46Speaker 1: an individual or to go after their family members or
- 25:50Speaker 1: or to persecute people. I find that so reprehensible. I
- 25:53Speaker 1: don't care who's behind it or what party's behind it.
- 25:56Speaker 10: I don't agree with it. I understand what you're saying there.
- 25:59Speaker 10: But in the same token, when he did get pulled in,
- 26:02Speaker 10: he should have realized that people are going to be
- 26:05Speaker 10: focused on everything he does. But he keeps on going
- 26:08Speaker 10: on and on and on. Like this, whatever he wants,
- 26:13Speaker 10: he's going to go after. And he don't care what
- 26:16Speaker 10: anybody thinks. And he should be scrutinized because of what
- 26:19Speaker 10: he did in New York City.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Well, listen, he can be scrutinized all he wants. It
- 26:26Speaker 1: can become unfair when it becomes done for political purposes.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Like that Loretta James, she ran for office on a
- 26:35Speaker 1: platform of, if you elect me, I'll get Trump. I'll
- 26:38Speaker 1: go after Trump. Well, that seems so wrong to me
- 26:42Speaker 1: that you're running for office saying, give me the power
- 26:44Speaker 1: and I'm going to go after some individual.
- 26:47Speaker 10: Some individual that kept going through courts and not doing
- 26:50Speaker 10: what he was supposed to be doing.
- 26:51Speaker 1: That's not necessarily true. It's just like this. I'm sorry.
- 26:57Speaker 1: I don't believe this for a minute. This woman that
- 26:59Speaker 1: won the $ 85 million, the woman that claimed she was
- 27:01Speaker 1: sexually assaulted in a department store dressing room, never filed
- 27:06Speaker 1: a police report, didn't scream, didn't go out in shock
- 27:10Speaker 1: or anything. I don't believe that story for one minute.
- 27:13Speaker 1: And yet it's her word against his word. and yet
- 27:18Speaker 1: they ruled against him and gave an $ 85 million settlement
- 27:22Speaker 1: because of perhaps the politics of the region. And there's
- 27:26Speaker 1: no proof involved in this at all. It's just ridiculous.
- 27:31Speaker 10: That can be sketchy on that point. I can see
- 27:33Speaker 10: what you're saying, because that could be done just because
- 27:36Speaker 10: you're a female in the first place.
- 27:38Speaker 13: Right.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I mean, if you're claiming you were sexually assaulted in
- 27:41Speaker 1: a department store, why didn't you scream? You're in a
- 27:43Speaker 1: department store. Why didn't you come out? I mean, it's
- 27:46Speaker 1: so ridiculous, the whole scenario. And I'm just troubled by
- 27:52Speaker 1: some of these allegations that are made against some of
- 27:55Speaker 1: these people for political purposes. Usually you would often hear
- 27:59Speaker 1: this like in divorce cases where the wife would accuse
- 28:04Speaker 1: the father of some sexual misdoings or something. None of
- 28:07Speaker 1: it was true. It was just such an ugly divorce
- 28:09Speaker 1: that they would make these claims up. And I'm thinking
- 28:11Speaker 1: how evil that is to do that to a person.
- 28:15Speaker 10: Well, yeah, that's the evilness of the people in the
- 28:18Speaker 10: first place.
- 28:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:20Speaker 1: So I understand why Trump would say, listen, if the
- 28:22Speaker 1: next president is a Democrat, are they going to go
- 28:25Speaker 1: after my family again like they did under the Biden administration? Remember,
- 28:29Speaker 1: under the Biden administration, you had bank regulators that came
- 28:33Speaker 1: forward that were whistleblowers. that came forward that said, hey,
- 28:37Speaker 1: we were instructed to go to these banks, Bank of
- 28:41Speaker 1: America and everything, and get them to debank Trump's entire family.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I had never heard of this before I read this story,
- 28:49Speaker 1: where they went and they basically threatened these banks through
- 28:54Speaker 1: regulation to get his entire family debanked. And I said, well,
- 28:58Speaker 1: what does that mean? Well, it means you can't have
- 29:01Speaker 1: any money in that bank. You can't do business with
- 29:03Speaker 1: that bank. So it didn't matter if it was Barron
- 29:06Speaker 1: Trump or his wife or his entire family was debanked
- 29:10Speaker 1: because the regulators were saying they were forced to do
- 29:13Speaker 1: this under the Biden administration. So Trump had to go
- 29:15Speaker 1: to much smaller regional banks because they wouldn't do business
- 29:18Speaker 1: with him. Well, I think that that is an absolute
- 29:21Speaker 1: abuse of power. He since then has passed a law.
- 29:25Speaker 1: that changed the law to say this should not happen
- 29:28Speaker 1: to any American. It doesn't matter if you're Democrat or Republican,
- 29:31Speaker 1: and I agree with that. uh it was just the
- 29:35Speaker 1: evilness of politics and i i don't support that kind
- 29:39Speaker 1: of stuff i mean it's america we're all americans i
- 29:42Speaker 1: don't support this destroy somebody with the office that you
- 29:46Speaker 1: have for political purposes i i just don't think that's that's.
- 29:50Speaker 10: Right was it totally political Yeah, these..
- 29:53Speaker 6: 100% political?
- 29:54Speaker 1: Or was there.
- 29:56Speaker 10: Anything there that was viable to be used?
- 29:58Speaker 1: No, they were... Because they did it through regulations. They were...
- 30:01Speaker 1: And these guys are coming forward as whistleblowers saying, this
- 30:04Speaker 1: is what took place. It's the evilness of politics. And sometimes,
- 30:10Speaker 1: I mean, it's why... Sometimes you've got to just base
- 30:14Speaker 1: people on the job they're doing outside of their political parties.
- 30:19Speaker 1: You follow me? I mean, just because..
- 30:20Speaker 10: I follow you, but what are we going to do
- 30:23Speaker 10: about Epstein files now?
- 30:24Speaker 1: I believe that all should be released. And I agree
- 30:27Speaker 1: with you. It certainly has vanished from the front page.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Is there any scrutiny because of the war situation? And
- 30:35Speaker 1: now you've got his former lawyer in charge of it.
- 30:39Speaker 1: And I seriously doubt if you'll know any more than
- 30:43Speaker 1: you know right now. I'll say it to you again,
- 30:46Speaker 1: and I don't know if you agree. I believe it
- 30:47Speaker 1: was an intelligence operation that Epstein was created. I suspect
- 30:52Speaker 1: a lot of it was through the Mossad. And I
- 30:54Speaker 1: think it's an intelligent operation, and they're not going to
- 30:57Speaker 1: give you any of that information at all. And God
- 31:00Speaker 1: only knows who has it and what they can use
- 31:04Speaker 1: it for to manipulate the rich and political people. And
- 31:07Speaker 1: that's very disturbing to me.
- 31:09Speaker 10: Well, then what about these poor girls?
- 31:12Speaker 1: Exactly. I agree with you. What about the victims? And
- 31:16Speaker 1: they are absolutely forgotten. It's a double standard of justice.
- 31:20Speaker 1: But it was a double standard of justice under Democrats
- 31:22Speaker 1: or Republicans. You didn't see it under Biden. You didn't
- 31:25Speaker 1: see it under Trump. Go back to the original case
- 31:29Speaker 1: when they brought it in Florida. I mean, that whole
- 31:32Speaker 1: case was fixed back then. I forget what year that was.
- 31:35Speaker 1: So it didn't matter if they were Republicans or Democrats anymore.
- 31:37Speaker 1: This is a double standard of justice, and I agree
- 31:40Speaker 1: with you. It stinks to high heavens.
- 31:43Speaker 10: Well, okay then. I got a little story for you.
- 31:47Speaker 5: Good.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I can use one.
- 31:51Speaker 10: A guy that I was working with would drive nothing
- 31:54Speaker 10: but Fords. His dad had Fords. His uncles had Fords.
- 32:00Speaker 10: His grandfather had Fords. His great-grandfather had Fords. I'll never
- 32:04Speaker 10: buy nothing but a Ford.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 32:06Speaker 10: So one day we're sitting there at lunch and we're
- 32:08Speaker 10: talking away, and he said, you know, I worked on
- 32:11Speaker 10: my truck this past weekend, yeah? He said, I put
- 32:13Speaker 10: Mopar shocks on my Ford. I don't know. Sometimes I
- 32:18Speaker 10: can be a smart aleck for no reason at all.
- 32:21Speaker 10: I said, so you put the Mopar shocks on your
- 32:23Speaker 10: Ford so it would ride like a Chevy. He got
- 32:26Speaker 10: up and left the lunchroom and didn't talk to me
- 32:27Speaker 10: for about four days.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Now, wait a minute. Wouldn't a Mopar shock make it
- 32:31Speaker 1: ride like a Chrysler? Because Chrysler's Mopar.
- 32:34Speaker 10: I understand, but it made it ride softer.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I see. So he was that upset over a joke
- 32:41Speaker 1: for four days.
- 32:42Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 32:43Speaker 1: I don't know. Sometimes people just got to lighten up
- 32:47Speaker 1: a little bit on that stuff.
- 32:50Speaker 10: What my end thing was going to say was both sides.
- 32:56Speaker 10: Both sides have got to lighten up and take a
- 32:57Speaker 10: look at what's going to help us and our kids
- 33:01Speaker 10: and our grandkids and our great-grandkids in the future.
- 33:04Speaker 11: Right.
- 33:04Speaker 10: Don't sit there on a sideline on one. and stay
- 33:07Speaker 10: with it just because that's your banner all your life.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Right. I'm with you.
- 33:12Speaker 10: Have a nice day.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 33:16Speaker 5: Ronald.
- 33:17Speaker 1: It's Ted the Conservative.
- 33:19Speaker 8: My goodness gracious. I was calling in to get your
- 33:22Speaker 8: opinion on something.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Well, I can give you that, and then you can
- 33:25Speaker 1: talk about other stuff.
- 33:27Speaker 8: And then I had to listen to China is the
- 33:31Speaker 8: moral authority of the world, and I had to listen
- 33:35Speaker 8: to All the assassination attempts on Donald Trump are false.
- 33:42Speaker 8: And then we go to the Epstein situation.
- 33:44Speaker 1: All right.
- 33:45Speaker 8: And I'm like, wow. You know, I can say this.
- 33:49Speaker 1: There are other people. Once again, I say there are
- 33:51Speaker 1: other people that have other opinions than yours, and they
- 33:54Speaker 1: have every right to express it. All right?
- 33:56Speaker 10: Yes.
- 33:57Speaker 8: I have friends that have watched, you know, what was
- 33:59Speaker 8: that last shooting attempt at the media dinner? What was
- 34:04Speaker 8: that called?
- 34:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I know what you mean.
- 34:07Speaker 8: Where the guy stormed in and they ended up, you know,
- 34:10Speaker 8: they subdued him and they got him. You know, I
- 34:12Speaker 8: have friends that believe that. The Butler shooting, the shooting
- 34:17Speaker 8: on the golf course. They're such staunch liberals. They believe
- 34:21Speaker 8: those are all staged events to help promote Trump.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Well, I think that's crazy, but people are entitled to
- 34:27Speaker 1: their crazy thoughts and opinions. I think it's just crazy.
- 34:30Speaker 8: That's just as crazy as the other guy saying that China...
- 34:35Speaker 8: is the moral authority of the world.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Well, I don't know that, I don't know what you're entitled.
- 34:39Speaker 8: To your opinions, but that doesn't mean that you're not crazy.
- 34:43Speaker 8: And then I got to touch on the substance stuff.
- 34:47Speaker 8: I'm convinced that everything that could be released has been released.
- 34:53Speaker 8: The reason other documents haven't been released is because a
- 34:57Speaker 8: lot of it is hearsay. You know what I mean?
- 35:00Speaker 8: You can't, you can't, put someone in a legal jeopardy
- 35:04Speaker 8: without legal.
- 35:09Speaker 6: Stance.
- 35:10Speaker 8: You know what I mean? So I think both Republicans
- 35:14Speaker 8: and Democrats are using Epstein as a political football to
- 35:18Speaker 8: how it benefits themselves. And if I'm wrong, there's one
- 35:21Speaker 8: guy that could prove me wrong. Tom Matthews. He claimed
- 35:26Speaker 8: to be a big fighter of the people, right? He
- 35:29Speaker 8: was out front with Ro Khanna, and he's become so
- 35:34Speaker 8: entrenched with that left wing of the Democrat Party. Well,
- 35:38Speaker 8: he lost his election. He doesn't have to worry about
- 35:40Speaker 8: getting re-elected.
- 35:41Speaker 1: All right, stand by for a minute. Stand by. Back
- 35:44Speaker 1: with Ted the Conservative and more of your calls. Welcome
- 35:47Speaker 1: to a Tuesday afternoon, May 26th. We're at 81 degrees.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Ron Furb from the Kingdom of Mahoney.
- 35:53Speaker 3: News, weather, and talk station 570 WKBN.
- 35:57Speaker 1: And Ron Verbar, it's Theodore.
- 36:01Speaker 8: Okay, Ronald. So Tom Massey claims to be the people's representative, right?
- 36:08Speaker 8: And he claims that there's this list of what should
- 36:14Speaker 8: we call them? Aggressors in the Epstein files that the
- 36:19Speaker 8: Trump White House is protecting. Well, He has complete legal
- 36:24Speaker 8: protection and authority, as he said he has, to stand
- 36:28Speaker 8: on the House floor and read these names and put
- 36:31Speaker 8: to bed the Epstein mystery. So why doesn't he do that?
- 36:36Speaker 1: I don't think he has access to all of the information.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I mean, stand by, Ted. I've got a long segment
- 36:43Speaker 1: after my break at 4. I want to talk to
- 36:45Speaker 1: him more about that and take more of your calls.
- 36:47Speaker 1: We're here until 5.30 tonight. Ron Furb, NewsRadio 570 WKBN,
- 36:52Speaker 1: back with Ted the Conservative. And more of your calls
- 36:55Speaker 1: straight ahead. Callers in line, stand by. Your position is reserved.
- 36:59Speaker 1: A good Tuesday to you. Ron Furb from the Kingdom
- 37:01Speaker 1: of Mahoning on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. From ABC News, I'm
- 37:10Speaker 1: Chuck Sievertson.
- 37:11Speaker 14: They're still trying to sort out casualties after today's chemical
- 37:14Speaker 14: explosion at a pulp and paper mill in Longview, Washington.
- 37:18Speaker 14: Over ten people injured and more than one dead, say
- 37:20Speaker 14: fire officials. Fire Chief Scott Goldstein.
- 37:23Speaker 15: This is white liquor. It is a chemical mixture of
- 37:27Speaker 15: sodium hydroxide, sodium sulfide, and disodium carbonate that is used
- 37:35Speaker 15: in the paper mills. making process.
- 37:38Speaker 14: They've cooled down the damaged chemical tank and eliminated the
- 37:41Speaker 14: chance of a major explosion, say fire officials in Orange County, California,
- 37:45Speaker 14: at the military aircraft factory, but there's still a chance
- 37:48Speaker 14: of a leak or smaller blast, so not all evacuation
- 37:51Speaker 14: orders are lifted.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Says ABC's Alex Stone.
- 37:53Speaker 16: Hopefully later on tonight, the 16,000, it was 50,000 last
- 37:57Speaker 16: night because of the threat of what they call a blevy,
- 38:00Speaker 16: but a large-scale explosion, and now gone, that that's not
- 38:03Speaker 16: going to go on, that they hope to be able
- 38:05Speaker 16: to get the number down from the 16,000 it's at
- 38:08Speaker 16: right now to nobody possibly later on tonight.
- 38:11Speaker 14: A major rebuff to an effort promoted by President Trump
- 38:15Speaker 14: for the midterm elections, a proposed South Carolina congressional map
- 38:19Speaker 14: that could have allowed Republicans to flip the seat held
- 38:21Speaker 14: by Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn, has been killed by the
- 38:24Speaker 14: Republican-controlled state Senate. It voted to go home till after
- 38:29Speaker 14: June primaries.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Without action on the map.
- 38:32Speaker 14: It happens the same day a three-judge panel in a
- 38:34Speaker 14: federal court in Alabama ruled unanimously... that state Republicans are
- 38:38Speaker 14: still blocked from using their 2023 congressional map. ABC's Devin Dwyer.
- 38:43Speaker 17: Alabama Republicans are not giving up this fight. They plan
- 38:46Speaker 17: to go back to the Supreme Court again. I think
- 38:49Speaker 17: by my count that would be the fourth time in
- 38:51Speaker 17: this battle over their 2023 election map. Back to the
- 38:55Speaker 17: Supreme Court. Of course, we're right up against the wall.
- 38:57Speaker 17: The primary is already underway.
- 38:59Speaker 1: There's a Republican runoff today in Texas for U.S.
- 39:01Speaker 6: Senate.
- 39:02Speaker 1: You're listening to ABC News. From NewsRadio 570, WKBN, Ron Verba.
- 39:10Speaker 1: All right, 406 here. All right. So let me ask
- 39:14Speaker 1: you this, Ted, the conservative. Obviously, Epstein happened. I mean,
- 39:18Speaker 1: there's a controversy about it. And obviously, there are victims
- 39:22Speaker 1: involved here. And I think that it's rather obvious that
- 39:26Speaker 1: this was an intelligence operation. So let's... not deny that...
- 39:31Speaker 1: I'm not denying it. Hang on. Epstein happened and there
- 39:36Speaker 1: are victims. And we're not seeing justice take place. We're
- 39:41Speaker 1: seeing a double standard of justice because... It's the intelligence community.
- 39:46Speaker 8: Do we know we're not seeing justice?
- 39:48Speaker 1: Yes.
- 39:49Speaker 8: How do we know that?
- 39:50Speaker 5: Because people are talking about it?
- 39:52Speaker 1: No, tell me who's gotten convicted.
- 39:56Speaker 8: I can't, because we don't know. We don't know what's happened.
- 40:00Speaker 8: The only person that we know that was convicted of
- 40:02Speaker 8: a crime was Jeffrey Epstein. And albeit his sentencing seemed
- 40:06Speaker 8: to be pretty sketchy at best. But what I'm saying is,
- 40:11Speaker 8: You've got these politicians on the far sides of the spectrum,
- 40:15Speaker 8: and mostly on the far left of the spectrum. And
- 40:19Speaker 8: then you've got guys like the libertarians, like Tom Massey.
- 40:23Speaker 8: And these guys have made, you can just Google it.
- 40:26Speaker 8: Pull out your Google machine. How many times has Tom
- 40:29Speaker 8: Massey or Ro Khanna threatened to read the names in
- 40:32Speaker 8: the Epstein list? They claim they have complete authority and
- 40:36Speaker 8: protection under the United States laws to do so. Well,
- 40:39Speaker 8: do it. Don't use that for political fodder. Don't use
- 40:44Speaker 8: the Epstein list to promote yourself politically. If you have
- 40:48Speaker 8: the authority as you claim to do it, do it.
- 40:51Speaker 8: Who are they protecting? Or there's no one to protect maybe.
- 40:56Speaker 8: Like I said, you know, there could be a lot
- 40:58Speaker 8: of names just as we found out when the files
- 41:01Speaker 8: released that it was Donald Trump who called the Florida
- 41:04Speaker 8: police to report Epstein. But people seem to forget that
- 41:08Speaker 8: rather quickly. And all they want to do is try
- 41:11Speaker 8: to somehow connect Trump to the Epstein file. Just like
- 41:15Speaker 8: they want to say the shooting, the assassination attempt didn't happen.
- 41:19Speaker 8: We live in a world where people just make things
- 41:23Speaker 8: up to satisfy themselves.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Well, I think I think you have to be careful
- 41:28Speaker 1: of those type comments. And here's why I say that
- 41:31Speaker 1: to you. Because it can be argued on the other
- 41:34Speaker 1: side when people call it a conspiracy theory. They claim, well,
- 41:39Speaker 1: you're making all this stuff up that it was a
- 41:41Speaker 1: lab leak and it was man-made COVID. It's a conspiracy theory.
- 41:45Speaker 1: The replacement theory is a conspiracy theory. So you better
- 41:49Speaker 1: be careful when you say, oh, people are making things up.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Sometimes they try to dismiss them as conspiracy theories.
- 41:55Speaker 10: I'm not saying anyone's.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Making things up.
- 41:57Speaker 8: If you're telling us you have something, then tell us
- 42:00Speaker 8: what you have or shut up.
- 42:01Speaker 1: I don't know that they have all of that information.
- 42:05Speaker 1: If you're asking me, If you're asking.
- 42:08Speaker 8: Me once again, do I.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Think that the government is going to be straightforward with
- 42:15Speaker 1: what happened under Epstein and put the information out there
- 42:18Speaker 1: and hold people accountable? I do not. Do I sit
- 42:21Speaker 1: here and wonder who has that information and or videos?
- 42:24Speaker 10: No.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Who has possession of them? And can they use that
- 42:32Speaker 1: to manipulate people in government power and or the rich
- 42:36Speaker 1: and wealthy? I do wonder that. I mean, there's no
- 42:40Speaker 1: question in my mind. I'll say it again. Epstein was created.
- 42:43Speaker 1: It's an intelligence community operation. It's despicable to me. that
- 42:48Speaker 1: it's an intelligent operation and engaged in adult men having
- 42:52Speaker 1: sex with underage girls. That's despicable to begin with, whether
- 42:57Speaker 1: that's the U.S.
- 42:59Speaker 6: It's the worst of all worst.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Right.
- 43:01Speaker 8: I saw on the news over the weekend another local guy,
- 43:04Speaker 8: sex crimes against children. I'm sorry, but this may be harsh.
- 43:08Speaker 8: People like that, they need to be eliminated from the earth.
- 43:12Speaker 1: But the reality is, I'm saying that there should be this.
- 43:18Speaker 1: What I'm witnessing is a double standard of justice. I mean,
- 43:22Speaker 1: with Prince Andrew, I don't know if Clinton was involved.
- 43:27Speaker 1: I don't know if Lutnick was involved. I don't know
- 43:31Speaker 1: who all was involved.
- 43:33Speaker 8: And I don't think we'll ever know why.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Right, but like Larry Summers stepped down from his position
- 43:42Speaker 1: at Harvard.
- 43:42Speaker 8: I think some of the people, the names that were involved,
- 43:47Speaker 8: have faced retribution in whatever form that looks like.
- 43:50Speaker 1: But not legally. They've been humiliated. Larry Sanders, or was
- 43:55Speaker 1: it Larry Sanders or Summers.
- 43:56Speaker 6: I think.
- 43:56Speaker 8: Because you went to dinner with a guy and hung
- 43:59Speaker 8: out with him doesn't mean you're a criminal. Doesn't mean
- 44:01Speaker 8: that you engaged in the sex crimes.
- 44:03Speaker 1: That's correct.
- 44:04Speaker 8: They were found guilty in the arena of public perception
- 44:10Speaker 8: because they hung out with a guy. They were friends
- 44:12Speaker 8: with the guy. That's all. There's no evidence of them
- 44:16Speaker 8: doing anything other than that. So these guys, Massey and..
- 44:20Speaker 1: You don't know that, though. You don't know that because
- 44:22Speaker 1: we haven't seen... We don't know, are there..
- 44:25Speaker 8: Well, Ro Khanna and Massey have said, I'm going to
- 44:28Speaker 8: Google it and I'll send it to you. I'll email
- 44:29Speaker 8: you the article.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Listen, if you think I'm going to sit here and
- 44:35Speaker 1: support people that don't want to release anything or don't
- 44:39Speaker 1: want to get to the bottom of this, I will not. Listen,
- 44:45Speaker 1: I don't care if they're Democrats.
- 44:48Speaker 8: You're just as complicit as the other ones.
- 44:50Speaker 1: I don't care if they're Democrats or Republicans. I believe
- 44:53Speaker 1: this information is being..
- 44:57Speaker 8: I agree.
- 44:58Speaker 1: So I disagree. I'm not going to sit here and
- 45:00Speaker 1: say Massey should go do this or this guy should
- 45:03Speaker 1: go do that. It comes back to where are the
- 45:06Speaker 1: attorney generals to deal with this? What happened with Pam Bondi?
- 45:11Speaker 1: What happened to the current guy? What happened to Garland?
- 45:15Speaker 1: What happened under Biden administration or under Trump? It's Republicans
- 45:18Speaker 1: and Democrats. And that tells me that you'll never get
- 45:21Speaker 1: to the bottom of it, which also tells me there's
- 45:24Speaker 1: a double standard of justice, which also tells me the
- 45:27Speaker 1: victims will never get the justice that they are deserving,
- 45:34Speaker 1: which I find despicable.
- 45:37Speaker 16: I don't.
- 45:38Speaker 11: So I'm not going to sit there and point fingers
- 45:40Speaker 11: at the people that wanted out there.
- 45:42Speaker 8: More horrendous than crimes against.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're trying to you're trying to tarnish the
- 45:46Speaker 1: people that are saying, hey, you people in power, put
- 45:50Speaker 1: this information out here. Well, I'm not going to blame them.
- 45:54Speaker 1: They're saying to the attorney general, Pam Bondi changed her
- 45:57Speaker 1: story in a blink of an eye. What the hell happened?
- 46:00Speaker 8: They're telling us Pam Blondie lied. They're telling us President
- 46:03Speaker 8: Trump is covering something up. So they have to have
- 46:07Speaker 8: proof and evidence to say that, right? So tell us
- 46:10Speaker 8: what you know.
- 46:10Speaker 1: I don't know. I think they're expressing an opinion. Some
- 46:12Speaker 1: people might believe that to be true. And I don't know. Listen,
- 46:17Speaker 1: I can't sit here and say to you, I know 100%
- 46:21Speaker 1: Trump was involved or wasn't involved. I don't know. I mean,
- 46:26Speaker 1: remember Elon Musk said when he was in his feud
- 46:31Speaker 1: with Trump, he says Trump will never release the Epstein
- 46:33Speaker 1: files because he's in them. Am I supposed to say..
- 46:36Speaker 8: He was in the Epstein files. It was disclosed that
- 46:40Speaker 8: he's the one who turned..
- 46:42Speaker 1: I don't think that was in the Epstein files. That's rumored.
- 46:46Speaker 1: That was never in the files that he was the one.
- 46:48Speaker 1: That was... that was put out there, but I don't
- 46:50Speaker 1: know what fact is released.
- 46:52Speaker 8: I've seen it on Fox news.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I've seen, I don't know.
- 46:54Speaker 7: I don't know that.
- 46:55Speaker 1: I think that's more, I don't think that that's fine.
- 46:58Speaker 1: That for me, then if you say that it's in
- 47:00Speaker 1: the Epstein.
- 47:00Speaker 8: Files, I will, I will do that. Is that my
- 47:03Speaker 8: homework assignment?
- 47:05Speaker 1: Listen, the bottom line is I'm not going to attack
- 47:07Speaker 1: the people. I'm going to say to everyone involved in this,
- 47:10Speaker 1: there is a cover-up. It will continue to be covered
- 47:13Speaker 1: up because somebody has this information, and maybe they're using
- 47:17Speaker 1: it to get things to fall in line that they
- 47:22Speaker 1: want these people to do. Would you agree with.
- 47:26Speaker 18: Me on this?
- 47:27Speaker 8: Anyone who claims to know the names that are in
- 47:29Speaker 8: the files but doesn't tell us the names are just
- 47:32Speaker 8: as complicit as everyone else.
- 47:36Speaker 1: No, I think they only know as much as has
- 47:38Speaker 1: been put out there.
- 47:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 47:41Speaker 8: These guys, some of these congressmen claim they've seen the names,
- 47:44Speaker 8: they've seen the files. I don't know. But let's move on.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Yes.
- 47:47Speaker 8: Why I called you. Did you see the news over
- 47:49Speaker 8: the weekend out of Ukraine?
- 47:51Speaker 1: What about it?
- 47:53Speaker 8: The latest assaults from Russia, hundreds of missiles, ballistic missiles, drones. Now,
- 47:59Speaker 8: I know G2 has made numerous statements supporting Russia's aggressions.
- 48:06Speaker 8: And we could agree, I think, that the boundaries of
- 48:10Speaker 8: those countries have been changed as to where Russia wanted them.
- 48:16Speaker 8: What is the endgame here? Like, what is going on?
- 48:19Speaker 8: Why are we just allowing Russia to just destroy this country?
- 48:23Speaker 8: And I'm not saying we as the United States, why
- 48:26Speaker 8: the United Nations is not doing anything, but what's the
- 48:28Speaker 8: endgame here? I was just shocked to wake up.
- 48:32Speaker 1: I don't know that there is an end game. This
- 48:34Speaker 1: has gone on for years. And do you see an
- 48:37Speaker 1: end game? I do not. I don't know.
- 48:39Speaker 8: That's what I'm asking you. I don't know. I don't
- 48:41Speaker 8: see it.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I mean, do you remember when Trump said, if I
- 48:43Speaker 1: get elected, I'll solve it day one? Well, he tried,
- 48:46Speaker 1: but he was unsuccessful in it. He thought he could
- 48:50Speaker 1: reach an agreement, and obviously he's unable to do so.
- 48:53Speaker 1: It's almost like he's given up on it and said,
- 48:55Speaker 1: I don't know how to deal with it at this point.
- 48:58Speaker 8: I'm just surprised to see the continued attack on civilians.
- 49:04Speaker 8: It's one thing to reestablish the lines of the country.
- 49:08Speaker 8: The border that you claim territory should be Russian because
- 49:11Speaker 8: they're Russian-speaking people. Or you can go all the way
- 49:15Speaker 8: back to the bio lab issue if you want to
- 49:17Speaker 8: make that an issue. But, I mean, what's the end game?
- 49:23Speaker 8: I just don't understand it. I don't understand it. I
- 49:26Speaker 8: thought maybe the great Ron might have an opinion on it.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I don't know that there is an end game because
- 49:30Speaker 1: it just continues to go on year after year after year.
- 49:35Speaker 1: In the Ukraine, they're arguing this is our country and
- 49:39Speaker 1: Russia's saying This part is ours, and these are our
- 49:42Speaker 1: people that are being tortured. So I don't know how
- 49:45Speaker 1: long something like that can go on as far as
- 49:47Speaker 1: the expense and the loss of life. I think you
- 49:51Speaker 1: have to reach some type of a compromise, and I
- 49:53Speaker 1: don't think that that's... I don't think it's ever going
- 49:57Speaker 1: to happen. I don't see it happening, and I don't
- 49:59Speaker 1: know that you'll see it happening in Iran either. I
- 50:03Speaker 1: don't know what's that.
- 50:05Speaker 8: I think Iran is turning into a quagmire, as you said.
- 50:09Speaker 1: That's Rich's line. That's a great description.
- 50:11Speaker 8: Is that Rich's line?
- 50:13Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that was a great description for it.
- 50:17Speaker 8: I support Trump. It doesn't mean that I endorse his decisions.
- 50:20Speaker 8: I support him. We're there. Do what you have to
- 50:23Speaker 8: do now to get it done. But, my goodness gracious,
- 50:28Speaker 8: you know, time is ticking. Like, you know, I'm starting
- 50:30Speaker 8: to look at the midterms, and I don't know. I
- 50:34Speaker 8: felt confident for a while there, but it seems like Trump...
- 50:40Speaker 8: Tells us one thing, and another thing happens.
- 50:46Speaker 1: On the other hand, though, I mean, when you talk
- 50:48Speaker 1: about the midterms, I still go back to say, if
- 50:51Speaker 1: you're crazy enough to vote for the people that brought
- 50:53Speaker 1: you this high inflation, and if you're crazy enough to
- 50:55Speaker 1: vote for the people with that wacky social agenda... and
- 50:59Speaker 1: to the transgender stuff if you if that all to
- 51:04Speaker 1: vote for that and to bring all that back as
- 51:07Speaker 1: bad as Trump might be in some of his decisions
- 51:10Speaker 1: overall his decisions have been common sense decisions good for
- 51:14Speaker 1: the country so if you have to take a look
- 51:17Speaker 1: in the way the Democrats and the Republicans you know.
- 51:20Speaker 8: Me what's the number one rule when it comes to
- 51:22Speaker 8: elections Ron never vote for a.
- 51:28Speaker 1: A woman No.
- 51:30Speaker 8: Now, that would be sexist. We would never be sexist.
- 51:35Speaker 8: We'd never vote for a Democrat. And you better hope
- 51:37Speaker 8: your wife's not.
- 51:38Speaker 7: Listening to you.
- 51:40Speaker 1: All right, Ted.
- 51:40Speaker 8: You'll be in trouble.
- 51:41Speaker 19: You'll be in trouble.
- 51:42Speaker 1: I'm fearless. Thank you. All right, Ted the Conservative. And
- 51:47Speaker 1: Ron Ferb, you're on. Wait a minute. Hello? Hang on.
- 51:50Speaker 8: Ron?
- 51:51Speaker 10: Yes.
- 51:52Speaker 8: Oh, good afternoon.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Good afternoon.
- 51:57Speaker 6: I don't think you're going to see a peace deal
- 51:59Speaker 6: with Iran anytime soon. As a matter of fact, I
- 52:03Speaker 6: was just looking on Fox, and they have Trump scheduled
- 52:06Speaker 6: a meeting at Camp David tomorrow with all his advisors,
- 52:08Speaker 6: so it wouldn't surprise me if they start heating things
- 52:11Speaker 6: up over there again. And like I said before, the
- 52:14Speaker 6: reason is I think you've got people inside Iran that
- 52:18Speaker 6: would love to make a deal, but the people that
- 52:21Speaker 6: hold the guns control the power. And that's why the
- 52:25Speaker 6: thing started. It was the Iranians who started laying mines
- 52:28Speaker 6: again yesterday. When we took out the two ships that
- 52:31Speaker 6: were laying mines, they fired a missile at one of
- 52:33Speaker 6: our planes. Because the people that have the guns and
- 52:36Speaker 6: control the military, the Revolutionary Guard, they don't want this
- 52:41Speaker 6: to end. Those are religious nutjobs. They would be fine
- 52:46Speaker 6: seeing the country go down in flames. And the people starve.
- 52:49Speaker 6: They don't care about the people. It's all about their
- 52:51Speaker 6: religious perspectives. and getting their 72 virgins if they go
- 52:56Speaker 6: to Seattle.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Well, I can't sit here and tell you what percentage
- 53:00Speaker 1: of the country supports it or doesn't support it. I
- 53:02Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, I genuinely don't know. I'll say
- 53:06Speaker 1: it again. It's a whole different culture. I can't tell
- 53:08Speaker 1: you that 80% of the people support it or don't
- 53:11Speaker 1: support it. It's hard to get a read on. Yeah.
- 53:17Speaker 6: It doesn't matter because they don't have the power. It's
- 53:21Speaker 6: basically the Revolutionary Guard has the power.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Well, it's people with the guns.
- 53:26Speaker 8: Yeah, exactly.
- 53:28Speaker 6: The gun wins the fight. So I don't see that ending.
- 53:34Speaker 6: But that's actually not what I called for. I meant
- 53:37Speaker 6: to call last week, but I got delayed doing a
- 53:40Speaker 6: couple things. Did you see that the Board of Elections
- 53:44Speaker 6: wants to put the new Board of Elections office down
- 53:47Speaker 6: in that old grocery store in the Fosterville area, Youngstown,
- 53:50Speaker 6: that old bottom dollar store?
- 53:51Speaker 10: Yes.
- 53:53Speaker 6: What are your thoughts on that?
- 53:57Speaker 1: Well, now, there's a couple of different things. I thought
- 54:04Speaker 1: I was reading where somebody wants to– wait a second–
- 54:08Speaker 1: I was reading it on one of the local news
- 54:10Speaker 1: sites where somebody said they would want to move ASAP,
- 54:15Speaker 1: the voting machines, to Bev Road because of the concern
- 54:20Speaker 1: over water damage. Okay. I thought, let me see if
- 54:23Speaker 1: I can find that story. And then I was told
- 54:31Speaker 1: that the Bev Road building was being used by the
- 54:35Speaker 1: Green Team. So I don't know.
- 54:37Speaker 9: Is it?
- 54:39Speaker 6: That's what I was told as well.
- 54:40Speaker 1: And I don't know if that's the case or not,
- 54:42Speaker 1: because then I saw where... I'm trying to find it
- 54:46Speaker 1: as we talk. Where they were saying that somebody in
- 54:50Speaker 1: the Board of Elections was saying, let's move the machines
- 54:53Speaker 1: down to Bev Road. Let me see. Let me see. Naturally,
- 55:05Speaker 1: I can't find it when I need it, but... What
- 55:08Speaker 1: are my thoughts? I mean, do we have any county
- 55:10Speaker 1: buildings that are unoccupied and available? My opinion is I
- 55:15Speaker 1: would put it in a Patriot building in Austintown. That
- 55:18Speaker 1: would be my standby. Standby with that. Just standby. Hang on.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Back in a minute with Richard Pharmacist. Should be an
- 55:27Speaker 1: interesting discussion. Stay tuned.
- 55:31Speaker 12: 570-WKBN.
- 55:31Speaker 1: All right, back with Rich, your pharmacist. News Radio 570-WKBN.
- 55:37Speaker 1: I mean, it's a great question. I mean, in general..
- 55:39Speaker 10: Well, it's not, Rich.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Oh, hang on.
- 55:41Speaker 6: Wait a minute.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Where is Rich? Are you there? Wait, no, you're not there.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Rich?
- 55:47Speaker 8: You got me.
- 55:48Speaker 1: All right. My problem is that... It seems to me
- 55:53Speaker 1: that there's a mentality that all of this stuff somehow
- 55:57Speaker 1: has to stay in the city of Youngstown. And I
- 55:59Speaker 1: do not agree with that. These are county offices. And
- 56:03Speaker 1: I would like to see, from a county office standpoint,
- 56:06Speaker 1: quite frankly, I'd like to see the trustees in the
- 56:09Speaker 1: township in which I live try to champion getting the
- 56:13Speaker 1: Board of Elections to move to the Patriot Building. I
- 56:15Speaker 1: don't know. If it'll fall on deaf ears or not,
- 56:18Speaker 1: they should certainly be talking with the commissioners about it
- 56:21Speaker 1: when we talk about getting... The Patriot Building, I think,
- 56:25Speaker 1: is centrally located. It has parking. Yes, you're going to
- 56:29Speaker 1: have to put money into the bottom dollar building. So
- 56:32Speaker 1: why not put it into the Patriot Building and do
- 56:36Speaker 1: whatever repairs you have to do and have ownership of
- 56:39Speaker 1: that building? It's centrally located and easy to get to.
- 56:43Speaker 1: And I don't think all this stuff This mentality, it
- 56:46Speaker 1: all has to be in a city of Youngstown. I'm
- 56:48Speaker 1: not buying it. I don't think the bottom dollar building
- 56:52Speaker 1: is in a city and you got to put money
- 56:54Speaker 1: into it. And I'm confused. Would you own it or
- 56:58Speaker 1: would you be renting it? I'm confused with that whole
- 57:01Speaker 1: concept to begin with. The city of Youngstown arguing, well,
- 57:04Speaker 1: they want to buy it for a dollar and the
- 57:06Speaker 1: Port Authority or whatever. I mean, I don't get it.
- 57:10Speaker 1: I think it should be a county-owned building that's maintained.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Your comment.
- 57:14Speaker 6: I would love to see somebody do an investigation of
- 57:17Speaker 6: the Port Authority, to be honest with you.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Me too.
- 57:19Speaker 6: Because the Port Authority is the one that's pushing all
- 57:21Speaker 6: this stuff. They're the ones that, and I'd like to
- 57:23Speaker 6: know what's behind that. Why are they pushing the whole
- 57:26Speaker 6: Eastern Gateway project? Why are they, you know, they had sold,
- 57:31Speaker 6: paid the Patriot building to the county, and then they
- 57:33Speaker 6: took it back to push Eastern Gateway. Now they want
- 57:36Speaker 6: bottom dollar. My biggest issue with bottom dollar is, If
- 57:41Speaker 6: you're in the city of Youngstown, even if you're in
- 57:43Speaker 6: the city of Youngstown, it's not that great of a location.
- 57:45Speaker 6: Because if you live on the north side, the south side,
- 57:47Speaker 6: the east side, unless you live towards the west side,
- 57:50Speaker 6: the Mill Creek Park area, you're not close to it.
- 57:53Speaker 6: There's no easy way to get there. It's miles and
- 57:56Speaker 6: miles from any freeway access. So for the people that
- 58:01Speaker 6: are coming out, let's say you live out in Smith
- 58:04Speaker 6: Township or Goshen Township and you and your wife want
- 58:06Speaker 6: to go vote early. there's people that probably don't even
- 58:08Speaker 6: know where the heck that's at. And without Google Maps,
- 58:11Speaker 6: probably not going to be able to find it.
- 58:14Speaker 1: And I'm willing to say there'd be a segment of
- 58:17Speaker 1: people who wouldn't feel secure in the area.
- 58:20Speaker 6: That's not a good area. I mean, there's nothing wrong
- 58:24Speaker 6: with saying that. It's an old beat-up, run-down area of
- 58:26Speaker 6: the city. I wouldn't, you know, would you want to
- 58:29Speaker 6: walk there at 10, 11 o'clock at night?
- 58:31Speaker 7: I wouldn't.
- 58:34Speaker 6: That's just being realistic. But I'm tired of the county
- 58:38Speaker 6: not treating its residents the way a retailer would. Most
- 58:44Speaker 6: of my career has been in retail. And you have
- 58:47Speaker 6: to take care of the customers you're serving, or the
- 58:51Speaker 6: customers will walk with their feet and find someplace else. Unfortunately,
- 58:54Speaker 6: we can't.
- 58:55Speaker 1: What's the most important thing in retail? Location.
- 58:58Speaker 6: Well, exactly.
- 58:59Speaker 1: I mean, is it easy that you could have a
- 59:02Speaker 1: four-way intersection, two major ways, one corner's better than the
- 59:07Speaker 1: other because it's easier to get in and out? Stand by,
- 59:09Speaker 1: I want to come back. back. I'm going to talk
- 59:10Speaker 1: more with Richard Pharmacist about this interesting topic. We'll be
- 59:15Speaker 1: right back.
- 59:16Speaker 3: News Radio 570 WKVN. Now, Ron Verb on News Radio
- 59:25Speaker 3: 570 WKVN. All right, back with Richard Pharmacist.
- 59:29Speaker 1: So go ahead with your thoughts. I mean, I'm not
- 59:32Speaker 1: a fan of that location.
- 59:35Speaker 6: From what I was told, it's pretty much Dave Beatrice's
- 59:38Speaker 6: little baby. He's the one that's really pushing it. The
- 59:42Speaker 6: Republican parts of the Board of Elections don't really want it,
- 59:46Speaker 6: but Dave is running the show, so it's his baby.
- 59:49Speaker 6: That's what I hear through the grapevine. And I'm just
- 59:52Speaker 6: trying to figure out why he would want to do that.
- 59:55Speaker 6: But like you said, the reason that we have to
- 59:58Speaker 6: keep it in the city is nonsense. Especially, you know,
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: the WRTA runs all through there. People can get rides.
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: There's no reason it has to be kept in the
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: city of Youngstown. And I would say the same thing
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: about the title agency. The title agency is probably, what,
- 1:00:17Speaker 6: 10 miles from the nearest auto dealer. There's zero reason
- 1:00:22Speaker 6: that those auto dealers should have to go running down
- 1:00:24Speaker 6: to the Oak Hill Renaissance building to get titles, or
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: the general public for that matter. It should be put
- 1:00:32Speaker 6: somewhere in Boardman, in my opinion. I would even split
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: it in two. I'd put one off of Mahoning Avenue
- 1:00:38Speaker 6: and 11 in Austin Town, and I'd put one somewhere
- 1:00:40Speaker 6: in Boardman, because that's where 95% of all your auto
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: transactions are going to be. But I just think it's
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: time for some people in county government to start treating
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: us like the consumers we are instead of just taking
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: advantage of us as voters and basically saying, well, this
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: is what we've decided and if you don't like it,
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: too bad.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: Well, there's a statement I agree with because I'm obviously
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: opposed to this Eastern Gateway nonsense that's going on. I'm
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: totally opposed to that and I don't think there's been
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: much discussion about it at all. But keep in mind,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: the bonds will be the responsibility of Mahoning County, and
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: yet you don't have a say-so on it, which I
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: find very troubling. That it's like, oh, this is the
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: decision we made, and shut up and sit down, and
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: you're responsible for the bonds. I don't know, like I say...
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: I'm trying to find that report where they were saying,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: let's move the voting machines out to Bev Road.
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: And, you know, honestly, you could store the voting machines anywhere.
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: You just need a workplace with warehouse space that's secure.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: All right. So I'm going to go back. So if
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: they do that, what is in that Masco building on
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Bev Road and how much of it's being used and
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: how necessary is it? I mean, what county buildings do
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: we own presently that we own now? that we can
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: look at for the Board of Elections. And what can
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: we get the Patriot Building back, which is a newer building,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: just as Bottom Dollar was a newer building for a
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: grocery store. But the Patriot Building, let's get that back with...
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: ground level, plenty of parking. It's got the parking. If
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: you're going to put money in a building, why not
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: put money into that building? It's centrally located. I just
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: think it's a better location for the Board of Elections.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: But this nonsense, oh, we can't put it in Austintown.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: It must be in a city. I don't agree with that.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: And I think last time I checked, Austintown Township is
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: one of the largest townships around. And so I put
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: the Board of Elections there. It's easy access for everybody.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: So why not do it? I don't understand any of
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: this stuff. I'm with you. The whole Port Authority thing
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: is disturbing to me when it comes to this building
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: that you mentioned. What did you do? The Eastern Gateway Building.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: That whole thing is... It's like you sit down, shut up.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: You're responsible for the bonds. By the way, here, we're
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: going to give you the Patriot building back. But wait
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: a minute. Shouldn't that be a good location for the
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: Board of Elections? But now we're going to look at
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: the bottom dollar where we're trying to tell a city,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: sell us a building for a dollar. Well, we don't
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: want to do that. And then who would own it?
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Would we be owners of it or leasing it? I mean,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I think you should own the building and you should
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: maintain it. And that should be the end of it.
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: I agree, but what I don't understand is with relocating
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: a lot of the county businesses, and I've said this before,
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: I believe there's huge numbers of vacancies in most of
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: those office towers in downtown that you could easily put
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: a lot of these agencies in. Now, the argument is
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: there's no parking, but then what that tells me is
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: you don't really need to build a building. You need
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: to build a parking deck. so that people can park
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: and use downtown better.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Usually you like to park for free. There is zero
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: consideration given to the county as a whole, in my opinion.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: It's all about Youngstown. And I'll make the argument. I
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: think the economic hub of Mahoning County is Boardman. I
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: don't think it's downtown Youngstown. I think the economic hub
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: is Boardman Township. That's where all your economic activity really
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: is centered. But with that being said... I don't go
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: with this bottom dollar. I'm with you. I think a
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: lot of people don't view it as a safe area.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I don't think a lot of people would be– elderly
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: would feel comfortable going there. And I think it's more
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: of a, I just think it's a bad decision. I
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: don't know what more to.
- 1:04:35Speaker 6: Say about it. My biggest concern is there's no easy
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: way to get there.
- 1:04:39Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: It's not close to any major, you know, transportation artery.
- 1:04:44Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: And it's not just, like we said, it's not just.
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: The people that live in the city of Youngstown.
- 1:04:48Speaker 6: You should be looking at the county as a whole.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: And doing what's best for the vast majority of county residents, which,
- 1:04:54Speaker 6: in my opinion, I agree with you, it's the Patriot Building.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Which are senior citizens, incidentally, the vast majority.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: Yeah, and I mean, you still have plenty of transportation.
- 1:05:05Speaker 6: WRTA goes out to Austin Town, so anybody in the
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: city would have no problem hopping on a bus or calling,
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: you know, if you want to go vote and you
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: know you're going to do it, call WRTA. They offer
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: door-to-door transport. The last time I checked, which is astronomical
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: what it's costing them, but that's a whole different argument.
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: That's another agency that needs to be revamped top to bottom,
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: in my opinion.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I'll be the first guy to say I think that
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: that's an That's a good building down there. I think
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: that's plenty of lands and it'd make a great board
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: of elections. And quite frankly, if it isn't a board
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: of elections, it would make great offices for the township
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: as they potentially outgrow their existing facility. That's probably too
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: small for them. Where could they make that function for
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: them in a better fashion? I mean, even if the
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: township looked at it for its future.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: Well, like I said, you know, to me, you could
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: put the voting machines anywhere. I don't know, unless there's
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: a law that says they have to be kept under
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: board of election control and they, you know, monitor or
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: something like that. But I think if you just had
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: secure warehouse storage that was monitored, you know, video monitored
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: and stuff, you could, it wouldn't matter where you could
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: store them out in Goshen and green and, you know,
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: on the country, if.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: You want to just put it, I'm with you on this.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: I don't, I don't disagree with you one bit. I mean, I,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Don't you find even the argument, well, you sell it
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: to us for a dollar, then the Port Authority would
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: own it, and then we're going to give you a
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: 20-year lease. What do you mean a 20-year lease? Who's
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: going to own the building? Who are you paying rent to?
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: I mean, shouldn't the county own the building and maintain
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: the building?
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: Yeah, and I think the bigger issue is if you look.
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: At a lot of these..
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: What about some of these closed-down schools, incidentally? Of course,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: most of those are in residential neighborhoods, so that's not
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: always a good thing. What about some of these closed down? Rich,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you what drives me crazy. What
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: absolutely drives me crazy, I just saw it the other day.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: When a bank closes and some other bank comes to
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: the community, why don't they just go buy an existing
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: bank that's already there in a vault in it, And
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: open there as opposed to ripping that down and building
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: a new building somewhere else that I just don't get it.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: I mean, some of the stupid decisions I see business
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: may make as far as just some of the dumb
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: stuff that I see them do. We got plenty of
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: old banks that are sitting around, not old banks, but
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: ones that have closed. And if you're going to bring..
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: The thing you're going to see, in my opinion, you're
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: already seeing with all the closed Rite-Aids, that left at least, what,
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: I think 25 or 30 buildings just in the county
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: area of Columbia.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: Well, you got that one right in Cornersburg, a former Rite-Aid.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: That's getting wrecked, though.
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: You're putting the sheets over there.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Is that what they're doing?
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: Yeah, they're going to put the sheets over there. And
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: it's not a very big footprint, so I don't know
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: how they're going to shoehorn that in there, but that's
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: what I was told. The other thing I was told,
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: and I forgot to mention, I found this out a
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: couple weeks ago, is supposedly, I think, do you have
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: curbside recycling in Austin Town like Boardman and Poland have?
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: But a lot of the county doesn't. Like, I live
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: out in Beaver. We have to take it to recycling
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: behind the Township Administration building here. There's dumpsters you can
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: put recycling in. But I was told that countywide, supposedly
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: in the next year or two, we're going to have
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: curbside recycling across the county. which I haven't read anything about,
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: but that was another thing that I heard through the grapevine.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Well, you take a look at, I think the busiest
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: recycling center is the one at the 9-11 park in Austintown.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: I mean, it's huge, the amount of containers they have
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: over there, and they fill really fast. I think it's
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: the busiest one.
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: My biggest complaint is, within a day of them emptying
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: or two days at the most of them emptying. I
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: think we have eight of them in Beaver new Middletown has,
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: I forget. I was over my daughter's house and the
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: ones here in Beaver were full. I went over to
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: new Middletown and, They had, I think, 15 or 20
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: of them, and they were all full. So when you
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: don't have curbside, you know, residents do like to– people
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: do like to recycle. But those containers fill up very quickly.
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: So if they went to curbside, I think that would
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: be a big advantage.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: It just shows you you've got to empty them more
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: often because a lot of times people want to take
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: boxes and that kind of stuff there. But I don't
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: know if you've happened to see where recycling material was
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: not in huge demand before. Now, this might have changed
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: with the petroleum issue, and it might have changed on
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: plastics because of the situation going on with petroleum and
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: the straight being closed. But I believe that there's now
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: more of a demand for the plastic recycling industry. But
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: China stopped taking a lot of crap. I mean, did
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: you ever look at like recycled cardboard boxes? They're pretty crappy, actually.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: They're not very good. And I was told several years
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: ago that a lot of places didn't want this stuff.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: They didn't want all the cardboard. They didn't want any
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: of this stuff. So it's a big problem with getting
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: rid of it when China decided it didn't want to
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: take it anymore. And some of it I was led
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: to believe was just going to the landfill.
- 1:10:24Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I would love to see if there was ever
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: any investigation on that, because my wife believes we're wasting
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: our time, that most of it just gets dumped in
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: the landfill.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: It wouldn't surprise me.
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: Most of the plastics, there's only about two or three,
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: there's what, six or eight, ten types of plastic with
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: those little chasing arrow, that triangle tracing arrow recycling thing.
- 1:10:43Speaker 6: But I read somewhere that they only really recycle one
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: or two of them. If it's not like a soda bottle,
- 1:10:49Speaker 6: a water bottle.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: My biggest, I guess my biggest criticism of The green
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: team is that I never hear from them, incidentally, and
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: they should call in and plug when they do their
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: recycling drives at the fairgrounds or whatever they do. I
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: don't think they advertise that things worth a damn, quite frankly,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: to say, OK, you can bring up to 10 tires
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: where Covelli Center, the fairgrounds, or we're going to take
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: old refrigerators. I just don't think that they're very effective
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: at advertising these events. So more of the public knows that.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: that they're going on. I fault the green team for,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: in my opinion, piss poor marketing on getting that information
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: out to people of those recycling events. I can go
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: back when, I forget who the director that was, I
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: would always hear from them. And they would either be
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: running commercials on a station or they'd be running commercials
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: and calling in and mentioning to people where these events
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: were taking place. Because if somebody's got a dehumidifier or
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: a refrigerator or four tires in their garage. It'd be
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: nice to spread the word better.
- 1:12:01Speaker 6: Another public agency that is poorly serving its customers. Right.
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: The citizens it's supposed to serve. And I think that's
- 1:12:09Speaker 6: the biggest issue between government and the private sector is
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: the government needs to start When you talked about George McKelvey,
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: he always looked at people calling him in with complaints as,
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: that's my customer.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Correct.
- 1:12:22Speaker 6: Because he grew up in a retail environment, and that's
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: the way he was raised and taught.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: It would be so refreshing if we would start to
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: see that happen somewhat in government, whether it be from
- 1:12:34Speaker 6: the schools to the townships to the cities, the county,
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: all of them. They could all do a much better job.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: In my opinion. With that being said, I also can
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: sit back and I can say, from my perspective, I
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: don't think that... I live in Austintown Township. I think
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: it's being run fairly well. I don't have any complaints
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: with my trustees or how they're running a township. It
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: seems like everything's working pretty smoothly, and I don't see
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: major concerns in Boardman at this time. I mean, when
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: you're talking... It seems Boardman runs pretty smooth, and it
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: seems Austintown is running pretty smooth to me. I mean,
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: I don't know how else to assess it. I don't
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: have any real complaints with Boardman Township or Austintown.
- 1:13:24Speaker 6: Especially if you look at it from a revenue standpoint,
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: because I guarantee you if you were to figure out
- 1:13:28Speaker 6: what Austintown Township was spending, revenue per resident that they're spending,
- 1:13:33Speaker 6: and then you look at some of the places like
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: the county or the city, where their revenue per resident
- 1:13:38Speaker 6: is going to be astronomically higher. I think township government
- 1:13:41Speaker 6: is pretty efficient.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: They don't have a bunch of guys.
- 1:13:44Speaker 6: I think they had 9, 10, 11.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: They might have 12 or 13 people in the entire
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: road department in a township. Well, that's not a lot
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: of people to plow your streets, and they do really
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: a decent job anymore. So the road department's doing a
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: pretty good job at dealing with all the vacant properties.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: I can only tell you where I live. They're dealing
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: with foreclosures or people who don't cut their grass. They're
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: doing a good job on that. They did a good
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: job plowing the streets. They did a good job at
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: sweeping up whatever you do at the end of winter,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: all the gravel.
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: On this news, weather, and talk station, 570 WKBN.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: 455 on a Tuesday afternoon, May 26th, 80 degrees. Ron
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: Furb from the Kingdom of Mahoning, and you're on the air.
- 1:14:31Speaker 21: Good afternoon, Ron. Thanks for taking my call, buddy.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: Good to hear your voice.
- 1:14:36Speaker 21: Hey, I'll be quick. I know you've got to run.
- 1:14:39Speaker 21: One thing, they started with the free house on my
- 1:14:42Speaker 21: street today, so that's something to look forward to.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: The what house?
- 1:14:46Speaker 21: The free house. You know, you get them for $ 150,
- 1:14:47Speaker 21: but they cost $ 450.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Oh, you mean what they're building? That program doesn't make
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: a lick of sense to me. Let's see. We're going
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: to build a $ 300, 000 house, but we're going to sell
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: it for.
- 1:14:59Speaker 19: $ 180, 000.
- 1:15:00Speaker 21: Hey, I'm retired, Ron. I'll learn how to build a
- 1:15:03Speaker 21: house now from scratch.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:15:06Speaker 21: The other thing is, Rich is right about the sheets
- 1:15:08Speaker 21: in Cornersburg.
- 1:15:10Speaker 14: Oh, really?
- 1:15:10Speaker 21: Yeah, and I don't see how that's going to support it.
- 1:15:12Speaker 21: I grew up in Cornersburg. But there was at one
- 1:15:15Speaker 21: time six gas stations in Cornersburg. But I can't see
- 1:15:19Speaker 21: them supporting a place that big. But to get back
- 1:15:23Speaker 21: to what I called for, for yesterday, Memorial Day, where
- 1:15:27Speaker 21: we're supposed to remember our soldiers. Three people on my
- 1:15:30Speaker 21: street had flags up. on their house. And that really
- 1:15:34Speaker 21: makes me mad. That really does. They're having a barbecue,
- 1:15:40Speaker 21: having family over, and that family can't go out and
- 1:15:44Speaker 21: buy a flag and put it on their house to
- 1:15:47Speaker 21: represent the fallen soldiers, to give them that right to
- 1:15:49Speaker 21: do that. And that's just a veteran. No veteran likes that.
- 1:15:54Speaker 21: A veteran likes when he's driving his car, seeing the
- 1:15:57Speaker 21: people with their flags. That means that means something to them.
- 1:16:00Speaker 21: That means we were in a service for something. So
- 1:16:04Speaker 21: that was my rant and rave today.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Well, you are correct. I think people pause and think
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: about the meaning of Memorial Day in addition to enjoying
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: their family and their freedom and potato salad. How's that?
- 1:16:22Speaker 21: That's fine, Ron. So let me get back to watching
- 1:16:24Speaker 21: how to build a house, and maybe every now and
- 1:16:26Speaker 21: then I'll give you a call and give you the
- 1:16:28Speaker 21: progress report.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Maybe you can buy it. Maybe you can move up
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: and say, hey, you probably wouldn't qualify.
- 1:16:33Speaker 21: No, I don't have a house.
- 1:16:36Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:16:36Speaker 21: They'd throw me out.
- 1:16:37Speaker 12: There you go.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: There you go. Take care, buddy.
- 1:16:39Speaker 11: Thanks.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: I don't understand that program. I just don't understand it.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: But it's there. They didn't ask me whether or not
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: I think it's a good idea, but I mean, So
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: the house costs this much to build, but we're going
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: to sell it for a loss. But yet, for you
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: in the suburbs, you've got to pay the full boat
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: if you want us to build your house. Isn't that
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: the way it's supposed to be? That's how it worked
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: when I built mine. You're on the air.
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: Hello, Ron. I'd like to share a little bit of
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: an article I got from Newsweek magazine today about America's
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: oil reserve. America's emergency oil reserve is shrinking fast. America
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: oil stockpiles are shrinking rapidly.
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: U.S.
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: Crude inventories posting consecutive weekly declines. Exports surging. The country
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: drawing down from its emergency supplies to offset the impact
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: of the war with Iran and global energy markets. If
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: this continues on much longer, I think you're going to
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: see fuel shortages and rationing gasoline in our country pretty soon.
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: It might be wise to store up some food in
- 1:17:46Speaker 5: case you're stuck at home for a while. But I
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: thought I'd share that with you.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: I had just read where they were saying it could
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: be more difficult to... Well, stand by for me. Hang on, okay?
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: I want to come back to you. I mean, he's
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: bringing up a good point. I want to pursue it
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: with him and more when we return. From ABC News,
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: I'm Chuck Sievertson.
- 1:18:11Speaker 14: A chemical explosion at a pulp and paper mill in Longview, Washington,
- 1:18:15Speaker 14: leaves over 10 people injured and more than one dead,
- 1:18:18Speaker 14: say fire officials.
- 1:18:19Speaker 22: The injuries range from critical to minor, and searches have
- 1:18:22Speaker 22: been underway for missing workers at the pulp and paper mill.
- 1:18:26Speaker 22: A tank imploded that was filled with a compound used
- 1:18:28Speaker 22: in the papermaking process. Fire Chief Scott Goldstein says there
- 1:18:32Speaker 22: is no further risk.
- 1:18:33Speaker 15: Crews from our agencies have looked at the hazardous materials
- 1:18:37Speaker 15: component as well as the structural concerns. That is why
- 1:18:40Speaker 15: we are saying the incident is now stable.
- 1:18:42Speaker 23: Emergency operations at the site are ongoing.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Alex Stone, EBC News.
- 1:18:46Speaker 14: They cooled down the damaged chemical tank and eliminated the
- 1:18:49Speaker 14: chance of a major explosion, say fire officials in Orange County, California,
- 1:18:54Speaker 14: at the military aircraft factory, but there's still a chance
- 1:18:56Speaker 14: of a leak or smaller blast, so not all evacuation
- 1:18:59Speaker 14: orders are lifted. Orange County Fire Captain Weihao Wang.
- 1:19:03Speaker 24: The plan is to continue to have our crews working
- 1:19:05Speaker 24: on the ground just.
- 1:19:07Speaker 17: To assess the situation and to continue to work on
- 1:19:10Speaker 17: mitigating what's going on on Take One.
- 1:19:12Speaker 14: A major rebuff to an effort promoted by President Trump
- 1:19:16Speaker 14: for the midterm elections. A proposed South Carolina congressional map
- 1:19:20Speaker 14: that could have allowed Republicans to flip the seat held
- 1:19:22Speaker 14: by Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn has been killed by the
- 1:19:25Speaker 14: Republican-controlled state Senate. It voted to go home until after
- 1:19:29Speaker 14: June primaries without action on the map. Earlier today, Clyburn
- 1:19:32Speaker 14: criticized the map effort.
- 1:19:34Speaker 25: 43% of the voters should have zero representation That is
- 1:19:42Speaker 25: a challenge to the goodness of South Carolinians.
- 1:19:46Speaker 14: It happened the same day a three-judge panel in a
- 1:19:48Speaker 14: federal court in Alabama ruled unanimously that state Republicans are
- 1:19:52Speaker 14: still blocked from using their 2023 congressional map and appeals planned.
- 1:19:57Speaker 14: President Trump on social media says during today's six-month physical,
- 1:20:01Speaker 14: everything checked out perfectly. You're listening to ABC News.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: Back to it. News Radio 570 WQN. So you saw this.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: You said you were reading it with Newsweek Online about oil,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: basically oil shortages, which is interesting because I mentioned earlier
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: in the broadcast, and I can't remember where I read that,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: where they were saying it might be more difficult to
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: find when you go out and buy a gallon of
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: oil for your car and that kind of stuff at
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: some of the auto parts store or Walmart or stuff.
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: In the morning, a lot of times.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: So you've read that too?
- 1:20:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I have. Stock up on oil.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: Well, they're depleting... They say that they're depleting the strategic
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: oil reserve both in the U.S. and China and all
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: these places are... That's what's keeping prices where they are now,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: but they're depleting all these reserves.
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: This is leading to global financial problems. My personal conviction,
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: I believe we're heading into the tribulation period, period of
- 1:21:02Speaker 5: chaos just before Jesus Christ.
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: Returns, but..
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: That's my conviction about the time we're living.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Well, I don't know about that. Now you're getting out
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: there on the Art Bell Show.
- 1:21:13Speaker 5: It's in the scriptures.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I hope you're wrong. But we shall see.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: We shall see. So I'll be curious on... I'm glad
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: you confirmed that, though, because I read so much I
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: can't remember where I read.
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: I heard you say it, and I thought I'd share
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: this article with you.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: If it continues to go on, there's going to be shortages.
- 1:21:38Speaker 24: Right.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: And I don't see any sign of this, all of this, oh,
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: we're close to an agreement. I don't see any sign
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: of that happening, because every time they say it, it
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: doesn't happen.
- 1:21:51Speaker 5: Oh, they're misleading the public on the deal. Iran's not
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: going to give, I got an article, they're not going
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: to give up their nuclear, uranium, or whatever they're doing,
- 1:22:01Speaker 5: uranium enrichment. They're keeping it. That's Trump totally against that.
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: So there's not going to be a peace deal. They're
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: going to try to wait us out and collapse our economy,
- 1:22:11Speaker 5: which might happen.
- 1:22:12Speaker 11: Right.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: It seems like some of it's happening now, don't you?
- 1:22:20Speaker 26: Yeah.
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: This is playing right in, you know, G2 talks about
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: the globalists all the time.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: Playing right into their climate change. Nobody's going to be
- 1:22:28Speaker 5: driving a car much longer and polluting and causing global warming,
- 1:22:32Speaker 5: 15-minute cities, and playing right into the globalists.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: Yeah, the Department of Energy has released 17.5 million barrels
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve since March. Well, that's a
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: lot of barrels.
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: On top of what Biden released out of there.
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: And it'll continue on as long as this goes on. Yeah.
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: I recommend everybody put away a little food, water, and
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: supplies in case of shortages, gas, wind shortages.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: All right. Thank you, my friend. Appreciate it. You're on
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: the air on NewsRadio 570.
- 1:23:06Speaker 10: Hello.
- 1:23:07Speaker 19: Yes, hi, Ron. How you doing?
- 1:23:08Speaker 8: Good.
- 1:23:08Speaker 19: I've got three quick things here to talk about. Did
- 1:23:12Speaker 19: you happen to listen to Billy Cunningham Sunday, his program,
- 1:23:15Speaker 19: the last half hour?
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Normally I would, but I was watching the calves get massacred.
- 1:23:22Speaker 19: Oh yeah, the Cavs. Great series. But Billy had a
- 1:23:26Speaker 19: guest on. She's an Indian legal political analyst on Fox
- 1:23:32Speaker 19: News and Newsmax. Her name is Mika Cook, C-O-O-K-E. And
- 1:23:37Speaker 19: she talked about Governor DeWine in the great state of Ohio,
- 1:23:41Speaker 19: in Columbus, Ohio, and the Somalians. She's been covering the
- 1:23:46Speaker 19: fraud situation for the last year in Columbus. She's got
- 1:23:52Speaker 19: a ton of evidence that she submitted to our illustrious governor,
- 1:23:57Speaker 19: and she never heard back from him. Then she contacted
- 1:24:00Speaker 19: the attorney general, and the attorney general threatened her with
- 1:24:06Speaker 19: legal action.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: Oh, wait a second. I did hear this last night.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Start from the top. I was very intrigued by this.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: Give this report, folks. Listen to what this guy's saying.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: I heard this on Cunningham's show last night. I did
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: hear this. Go ahead.
- 1:24:21Speaker 19: Yes, Ohio's, I think, the second state after California for fraud.
- 1:24:30Speaker 19: And Governor DeWine, for some reason, refuses to look into it.
- 1:24:36Speaker 19: Our old Attorney General refused to look into it. I
- 1:24:39Speaker 19: don't know if the new guy is going to do anything.
- 1:24:42Speaker 19: But she's been covering, it's the Somalian population in Columbus
- 1:24:46Speaker 19: where they have, they've massive fraud with uh... medicare medicaid
- 1:24:52Speaker 19: now and it's the uh... especially the program if you
- 1:24:57Speaker 19: can take care of your family members at home you'll
- 1:25:00Speaker 19: be getting paid and anyway they falsified documents it doesn't
- 1:25:05Speaker 19: take much to falsify it and then she brought up
- 1:25:09Speaker 19: the politicians in ohio she said there's three scenarios or
- 1:25:14Speaker 19: either incompetent stupid or they're crooked. And she, she believes
- 1:25:23Speaker 19: it's probably all three. And I can't believe that Cunningham
- 1:25:27Speaker 19: was agreeing with her. And, you know, he followed the
- 1:25:30Speaker 19: cases too. And I said, Oh, that's governor DeWine. I said,
- 1:25:35Speaker 19: that's wrong. I remember governor DeWine and Fran during the lockdowns,
- 1:25:41Speaker 19: they would come out every day and Fran would have
- 1:25:43Speaker 19: the cookie recipes for us. That was the solution to COVID.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: But, uh, This was an interesting interview last night, and
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: I wish I could replay that because it was eye-opening. Basically,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: they're saying– I think it was second to Minnesota, if
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I'm not mistaken. California is in there too, but we
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: have the second largest population of Somalians next to Minnesota
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: in Ohio, and that the fraud– what you see, for example–
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: They would get people to say that they were doing
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: home care for someone, and there was no follow-up on
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: it to find out if that was legit or not.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: And then the person would get reimbursed, and someone would
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: be kicked back to the fraudsters. Am I correct on that?
- 1:26:36Speaker 19: Yes, and they also have companies set up. If you
- 1:26:38Speaker 19: go down a street in Columbus... uh... you know like
- 1:26:41Speaker 19: a quarter-mile strip there are like.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Thirty five of them in one building i think they said.
- 1:26:46Speaker 19: One building and there's no one there and there's no
- 1:26:50Speaker 19: no one's doing audits no one cares and like she
- 1:26:54Speaker 19: said she would you know tried to contact the governor
- 1:26:58Speaker 19: had all the evidence and then when she went to
- 1:27:00Speaker 19: the attorney general they threatened her with a subpoena so
- 1:27:04Speaker 19: i don't know if she backed off but um..
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: I wonder if that's why yost quit.
- 1:27:12Speaker 19: You know, I hate to say it. There's a lot
- 1:27:15Speaker 19: of fraud. If you go back to the first energy
- 1:27:18Speaker 19: fraud with the governor and the Republican Party and the
- 1:27:21Speaker 19: state Senate, it's not just Democrats. It's everybody. They're all,
- 1:27:26Speaker 19: you know.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Oh, I think it's a big problem here in the
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: state of Ohio. I mean, she was talking with Cunningham
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: about it starts with DeWine. It goes to the attorney general.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: It goes to the auditor. And it goes to the
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: lack of looking into it when it was brought to
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: their attention, too. And the fraud, you're talking millions, if
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: not billions of dollars in Ohio of downright theft. You're
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: talking people that came here and have stolen more money
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: than you'll ever make working in your lifetime and paying
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: all these taxes. And these politicians are looking the other
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: way out of total incompetence in Ohio. And we're talking Republicans.
- 1:28:06Speaker 19: Either looking the other way or she implied they might
- 1:28:09Speaker 19: be getting kicked back somehow. But I just wondered what
- 1:28:13Speaker 19: our Congress people, like Joyce or Rui, if they have
- 1:28:18Speaker 19: any opinion.
- 1:28:19Speaker 6: On the fraud.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: I don't really care much about their opinion on it.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: I care more about what Dave Thomas has to say
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: as a state representative. It's a state issue, and what
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: matters most is what the state... people are doing about it.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: It's an absolute sin, the millions of your tax dollars.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: It jeopardizes, would you not agree? the health of these
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: programs for Medicaid and Medicare?
- 1:28:42Speaker 19: Yeah, for the people that really need it.
- 1:28:44Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:28:45Speaker 19: We have a lot of people that really need it.
- 1:28:47Speaker 19: We have homeless veterans.
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Well, let me put it this way. I'm not opposed
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: to if you're sick and your wife quits her job
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: to take care of you because you have some issue.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: and you can stay in your home and your wife
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: can take care of it, I have no problem with
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: her being reimbursed through Medicaid or Medicare. You follow me?
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: I mean, if it keeps you out of the nursing home,
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: that's okay with me. But it should be followed up
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: and verified, and there should be continued observation or there
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: should be visits to make sure the care is being
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: given is up to standard and worthwhile.
- 1:29:24Speaker 19: Yeah, that's why it was set up, to keep people
- 1:29:26Speaker 19: in their own homes safe Right. Have the family member
- 1:29:28Speaker 19: take care of them. It would save the state and
- 1:29:31Speaker 19: the federal government a lot more than if they went
- 1:29:33Speaker 19: into a nursing home.
- 1:29:34Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:29:35Speaker 19: But unfortunately, you know, it's just they found a loophole.
- 1:29:40Speaker 19: The Somalians, thanks to DeWine, we've got the Haitians in
- 1:29:44Speaker 19: Springfield and the Somalians in Columbus.
- 1:29:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:29:48Speaker 19: And they're very good at fraud.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: I said you're right. Right. Was that eye-opening or what?
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: It's so damn disappointing on how much of your tax
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: dollars are being fraudulently stolen by these groups. And when
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: it's brought to the attention, what a disappointment DeWine is.
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: And frankly, the Republicans that didn't do anything about it,
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: just like in Minnesota with Tampon Tim, you're talking billions
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: of tax dollars jeopardizing the health of these programs. And
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: it's a sin to people that genuinely need that assistance
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: because of Alzheimer's or because of ALS or any number
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: of different situations. Where's the follow-up? Where's the follow-through? Where's
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: the inspections?
- 1:30:35Speaker 19: She came up with a $ 1. 5 billion that she personally
- 1:30:38Speaker 19: has evidence of the fraud. And she thought that at
- 1:30:43Speaker 19: least the Attorney General would look into it. No, did not.
- 1:30:46Speaker 19: Did not want to even get involved. I just had
- 1:30:49Speaker 19: it on for a minute and I said, let me
- 1:30:50Speaker 19: listen to this lady. This is fascinating. And then that
- 1:30:55Speaker 19: was his last guest of the night, but it was
- 1:30:57Speaker 19: pretty good.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: I did hear that.
- 1:30:58Speaker 19: I wanted to bring up, since we have beautiful weather
- 1:31:01Speaker 19: out there and everybody's out looking up at the sky,
- 1:31:04Speaker 19: I just wondered if anybody notices the new cloud formations
- 1:31:08Speaker 19: that we've been having with the crisscross, high-altitude spraying.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: I have not.
- 1:31:14Speaker 19: And a lot of people don't. There's only probably 5%
- 1:31:17Speaker 19: of the population look up. Everybody's looking at their phone.
- 1:31:21Speaker 19: but there is an israeli company called star dust solutions
- 1:31:25Speaker 19: that has the high altitude spraying contract and it's basically
- 1:31:31Speaker 19: to block out the sun and for global warming believe
- 1:31:36Speaker 19: it or not they have u.s. contracts and they have
- 1:31:39Speaker 19: lobbyists in washington.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: What are they spraying?
- 1:31:43Speaker 19: They're spraying non sulfate aerosols they're spraying amorphous silicate in
- 1:31:51Speaker 19: calcium carbonate and are micro aluminum and what it does
- 1:31:56Speaker 19: it's dispersed into the stratosphere it reflects the sunlight and
- 1:32:00Speaker 19: it actually cool things off not to not to be
- 1:32:04Speaker 19: confused with contrails coming out of a jet plane which
- 1:32:07Speaker 19: is which is water vapor if you look up and
- 1:32:09Speaker 19: you see these big white long ten twenty miles of
- 1:32:14Speaker 19: cloud formations and i'm always surprised that our weather people
- 1:32:18Speaker 19: talk about the clouds in the the weather all the
- 1:32:21Speaker 19: time that they'd never mention these new formations. And you
- 1:32:24Speaker 19: see them in a crisscross, tic-tac-toe-type formation when they spray.
- 1:32:30Speaker 19: And I brought it up to a couple people, and
- 1:32:33Speaker 19: everybody's starting to notice it now.
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: And you're saying way above, just below the clouds.
- 1:32:40Speaker 10: Or way.
- 1:32:42Speaker 19: Up? Well, most of them are high altitude. the one
- 1:32:46Speaker 19: that Stardust Solutions sprays.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: Well, where did you ever hear about the Stardust Solutions,
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: or read this?
- 1:32:54Speaker 19: Tucker Carlson did a show on it, on geoengineering, about
- 1:33:00Speaker 19: six months ago, and I brought it up to G2,
- 1:33:02Speaker 19: and he heard of it, but he didn't watch that segment.
- 1:33:06Speaker 19: And I think the guy's name is Dane Whittington, is
- 1:33:09Speaker 19: the expert on the high-altitude spraying. But it was a fascinating... Tucker,
- 1:33:15Speaker 19: you can go back in the archives on Twitter or
- 1:33:19Speaker 19: X and pull it up. But I can't believe that
- 1:33:23Speaker 19: most people don't notice it. And it dissipates during the day.
- 1:33:27Speaker 19: And then you notice that cloudy... Everything's always cloudy. You
- 1:33:30Speaker 19: never see the beautiful blue sky anymore with the big
- 1:33:33Speaker 19: puffy white clouds.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but isn't that the nature of the beast around here?
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: I mean, you know, we're known for our cloudy skies.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: Isn't that why they say they built that station? What
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: was it, out in Ravenna or whatever? Because of the
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: cloud cover that we have here. Aren't we known for,
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: as Florida's known as a sunshine state, aren't we known
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: as the cloudy area here?
- 1:33:58Speaker 19: Yes, we are. My dad was from Lowell up by Boston,
- 1:34:02Speaker 19: and when he relocated to Ohio at That was his
- 1:34:05Speaker 19: big complaint, was the clouds in this area. Never saw
- 1:34:09Speaker 19: the sunshine. And getting back to my dad, he fought
- 1:34:13Speaker 19: Memorial Day. He was in the Battle of the Bulge.
- 1:34:16Speaker 19: And he passed away when I was 15, but I
- 1:34:18Speaker 19: could never remember him. He was a veteran, combat veteran
- 1:34:22Speaker 19: from World War II. Saw a lot of combat in France, Germany.
- 1:34:27Speaker 19: And he never talked about the military, never talked about
- 1:34:31Speaker 19: the war. And I heard that guy about putting flags up.
- 1:34:35Speaker 19: And it was the only thing he would tell us
- 1:34:37Speaker 19: when we were little kids. He would always go, Schnell, Schnell,
- 1:34:40Speaker 19: you know, to get in the car, hurry up. He
- 1:34:42Speaker 19: would kid us. That was the only reference to World
- 1:34:45Speaker 19: War II that I ever heard out of my dad.
- 1:34:48Speaker 19: And my sister has all of his medals. She has
- 1:34:51Speaker 19: it framed in a glass case. But you don't have
- 1:34:56Speaker 19: to put a flag up to, you know, respect our veterans.
- 1:35:01Speaker 19: And if people want to have a Family gathering on
- 1:35:04Speaker 19: Memorial Day, you know, lighten up. It's okay.
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: All right. I mean, listen, I think people are thankful
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: for their freedom and certainly thankful for those folks that
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: served in the military, whether they're within their family or not.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: And then they enjoy the day. I mean, with their
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: family and friends and freedom and potato salad.
- 1:35:26Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:35:26Speaker 27: Yeah.
- 1:35:27Speaker 19: And if you ever notice, go out the next couple
- 1:35:29Speaker 19: of weeks, look up at the sky and see if
- 1:35:31Speaker 19: you notice those planes spraying. You'll be surprised.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: I don't like to look up because usually there's a
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: pigeon somewhere close. And when I look up, you never
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: know what could happen.
- 1:35:41Speaker 19: You worry about the pigeons and this new, what are
- 1:35:43Speaker 19: the new ticks with the Lone Star ticks?
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I think that was manufactured, don't you? Stand by. Hang
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: on a minute. I want to come back to you
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: on that issue. I want to talk to him about that.
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: Back in a minute.
- 1:35:57Speaker 12: Listen to 570 WKBN.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: Ron Verbans, you're on. Let me hang on. I want
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: to go back to this guy. Wait a second. So, no,
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: you were talking about these ticks. I was just talking
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: to a friend of mine who said he knows a guy.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: He knows a guy. He got bit. He was out
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: walking in sandals, okay? And he got bit by a tick.
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: Not a tick. He got bit weird by a brown
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: recluse spider.
- 1:36:26Speaker 19: I was bitten by a brown recluse a year ago,
- 1:36:29Speaker 19: ended up in a hospital for five days, Ron.
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: Well, this guy, they had to cut some toes off
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: because of the situation. So as I understand, he went
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: to the emergency room and then he went to his
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: family doctor and then you go to the infectious disease
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: guys and said, okay, this is what your problem is.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: But by then it had spread. So you were bit
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: by one?
- 1:36:50Speaker 19: Yes, this was a year ago, and end of March,
- 1:36:54Speaker 19: beginning of April, I was working outside. I went to
- 1:36:56Speaker 19: my garage where I have my work boots, put my
- 1:36:59Speaker 19: work boots on, and I was bitten on the toe,
- 1:37:02Speaker 19: and went to the ER, urgent care, and the doctor
- 1:37:07Speaker 19: gave me an antibiotic for it. Long story short, at
- 1:37:11Speaker 19: three days, it got worse. It swelled up, so I
- 1:37:13Speaker 19: went down to the main ER, in Youngstown, and they
- 1:37:17Speaker 19: admitted me right away and put me on intravenous IVs
- 1:37:21Speaker 19: of antibiotics. And I was in for five days. They
- 1:37:25Speaker 19: did a drainage surgery on my toe, did blood cultures,
- 1:37:29Speaker 19: but it developed into cellulitis. And it was lucky that
- 1:37:34Speaker 19: I didn't have to have the toe cut off, but
- 1:37:37Speaker 19: everything's fine now. First time I've heard people being bitten
- 1:37:41Speaker 19: by spiders, but it never happened to me.
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: But from having your shoes in the garage?
- 1:37:47Speaker 19: My work boots, yes. And evidently the spider crawled into
- 1:37:51Speaker 19: the boot, and it was like an electrical shock when
- 1:37:55Speaker 19: I got bit, and boy.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: But did you go to the doctor then right away?
- 1:38:00Speaker 19: Yeah, I went to urgent care, and they prescribed an
- 1:38:05Speaker 19: oral antibiotic, which didn't do the trick. It wasn't strong enough.
- 1:38:09Speaker 19: So after about, oh, it was like three days to
- 1:38:11Speaker 19: five days, it started swelling on the toe, and the
- 1:38:16Speaker 19: foot started swelling. It turned into cellulitis. Then I went
- 1:38:19Speaker 19: to ER, and they admitted me.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: You're lucky you didn't lose your foot.
- 1:38:24Speaker 19: Yes, but everything's fine now, back to normal. They did
- 1:38:27Speaker 19: a good job at Saini's, but... they're infection control people.
- 1:38:33Speaker 19: Getting back to this tick, that Lone Star tick was
- 1:38:36Speaker 19: on the local news last night. I don't know if
- 1:38:39Speaker 19: it was Channel 27 or 21. They talked about it.
- 1:38:41Speaker 19: It's in southern Ohio, Cincinnati. And this tick, most ticks...
- 1:38:47Speaker 19: I'll wait on vegetation to bite you or, you know,
- 1:38:52Speaker 19: jump on you. But these lone star ticks are aggressive.
- 1:38:55Speaker 19: They actually crawl towards their host rather rapidly. And if
- 1:39:00Speaker 19: they bite you, they have the alpha gal syndrome. They
- 1:39:05Speaker 19: can spread to your immune response. It's a sugar molecule.
- 1:39:09Speaker 19: And what it does, you develop a..
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: Allergy to meat.
- 1:39:14Speaker 19: Yes, red meat, beef, pork, lamb, and dairy. And I
- 1:39:18Speaker 19: got a kick out of the doctor last night on
- 1:39:20Speaker 19: the news show saying that, well, we don't know how
- 1:39:23Speaker 19: long that allergy will last, and it might go away.
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: But it's not.
- 1:39:29Speaker 19: Multiple times it might not go away. And I go, wow,
- 1:39:32Speaker 19: this is a pretty big.
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I got to scoot. Appreciate it. Okay, Ron. Thank you.
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: Guardians pregame coming up.

- 1:41:00Speaker 23: As the weather has broken and it's warming up a
- 1:41:03Speaker 23: little bit, we actually saw some sunshine today.
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: We haven't seen a whole.
- 1:41:07Speaker 23: Lot of that in recent days, Jim. whether it's been
- 1:41:10Speaker 23: here in Cleveland or on the road. Guardians trying to
- 1:41:13Speaker 23: bounce back from that 10-2 loss last night. They're still
- 1:41:16Speaker 23: in first place in the AL Central, three and a
- 1:41:18Speaker 23: half up on the White Sox. Meanwhile, Washington, a game
- 1:41:22Speaker 23: over the 500 mark, one of the surprise teams in
- 1:41:25Speaker 23: baseball so far. They're in second place behind Atlanta in
- 1:41:29Speaker 23: the National League East.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: Stay tuned. We'll have more to come after this.
- 1:41:40Speaker 23: Welcome back to the Bet365 Guardians warm-up show. The Guardians
- 1:41:47Speaker 23: and Nationals getting ready for Game 2 of the series
- 1:41:49Speaker 23: after a 10-2 victory for Washington last night. The bullpen, though,
- 1:41:54Speaker 23: covered the last five innings, allowing just one earned run.
- 1:41:57Speaker 23: And since April 18th, Guardians continue in that bullpen to
- 1:42:01Speaker 23: have the lowest average team ERA bullpen-wise in the major leagues.
- 1:42:06Speaker 23: Part of that, Hunter Gattis. He's been terrific of late,
- 1:42:10Speaker 23: and we'll visit with him next on the Cleveland Clinic
- 1:42:12Speaker 23: Radio Network.
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: Here's the Bet365 Minute, where winning is everything, with Scott Davidson.
- 1:42:19Speaker 24: Let's take a peek at the numbers tonight. The Guardians,
- 1:42:21Speaker 24: a slight favorite. They're minus $ 1. 30 over the Nats, and
- 1:42:24Speaker 24: the total is 7.5. And to a play I like tonight,
- 1:42:27Speaker 24: after the Rangers got no hit in a combined effort
- 1:42:30Speaker 24: by Houston yesterday, I'm going to use them tonight on
- 1:42:33Speaker 24: the money line. Now, I like backing a line up
- 1:42:35Speaker 24: the very next game after getting no hit. especially when
- 1:42:37Speaker 24: the no-no was a combined effort that forced a team
- 1:42:40Speaker 24: like Houston to lean on their entire bullpen. Now, Texas
- 1:42:43Speaker 24: has also gone, get this, 7-2 at home since 2025
- 1:42:46Speaker 24: in games following a shutout loss. You put all those
- 1:42:50Speaker 24: things together. I like the Rangers to get it done
- 1:42:52Speaker 24: on the money line today over the Astros. Now, you
- 1:42:55Speaker 24: can join me there when you download the Bet365 app. Remember,
- 1:42:58Speaker 24: you bet this or any money line all season long,
- 1:43:00Speaker 24: your team goes up by five runs or more. You
- 1:43:02Speaker 24: win even if they don't. It's the MLB Early Payout.
- 1:43:05Speaker 24: Terms and conditions apply. And that's about 365 minutes. I'm
- 1:43:08Speaker 24: Scott Davidson.
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: Gambling problem? Call 1-800-MY-RESET. 21 plus only. Must be physically
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: located in Ohio.
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 1:43:25Speaker 11: And he banks one on the ground to third. Ramirez gloves, sets, throws.
- 1:43:30Speaker 11: And a 1-2-3 inning for Hunter Gaddis. Now the 0-1 pitch.
- 1:43:35Speaker 11: Swing and a chopper headed to first. Shoulder high hop
- 1:43:38Speaker 11: handle by Manzardo. Runs to the bag to get McKinstry.
- 1:43:42Speaker 11: And a heck of a job by Hunter Gaddis. Here's
- 1:43:45Speaker 11: the one-two offering.
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: Swing and a miss! Struck it out with a heave.
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: What an outing for Hunter Gaddis.
- 1:43:54Speaker 23: Welcome back to the Bet365 Guardians warm-up show. We're in
- 1:43:58Speaker 23: downtown Cleveland. Guardians getting ready to take on the Nationals.
- 1:44:01Speaker 23: Hunter Gattis has once again become a big key in
- 1:44:04Speaker 23: that Guardians bullpen. Last six games for Gattis. Six in
- 1:44:08Speaker 23: the third innings. He has a win, a save, and
- 1:44:11Speaker 23: his specialty, three holds in that setup roll. Getting Kate
- 1:44:16Speaker 23: Smith to the ninth inning with a chance to save it.
- 1:44:19Speaker 23: And when we caught up with Gaddis recently, we talked
- 1:44:21Speaker 23: about his start to the season, a spring training that
- 1:44:25Speaker 23: was slowed due to injury and missing the first two
- 1:44:28Speaker 23: weeks of the year as well with that same tenderness
- 1:44:31Speaker 23: in his right forearm, but came back healthy. And now
- 1:44:35Speaker 23: things are really falling into place. And we asked him
- 1:44:38Speaker 23: how it feels to be pitching well after missing the time.
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: I felt really good.
- 1:44:43Speaker 29: Yeah, you know, not opening up with the team. Definitely sucked,
- 1:44:46Speaker 29: but it was good to stay back, build up to 100%
- 1:44:49Speaker 29: to be able to come here and be at my best.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: When I show up.
- 1:44:53Speaker 23: What is the hardest part sometimes if you do have
- 1:44:55Speaker 23: a setback where you're not available for a little bit?
- 1:44:59Speaker 29: The hardest thing for me was just the want to
- 1:45:00Speaker 29: be there with the guys. I mean, preparing and all that,
- 1:45:05Speaker 29: I feel like it's the same, but just the want
- 1:45:07Speaker 29: to be with the guys on the road and that
- 1:45:09Speaker 29: every game was pretty hard.
- 1:45:11Speaker 23: Do you watch games and think, well, that's my inning
- 1:45:15Speaker 23: or that's where I could really help, or is that
- 1:45:17Speaker 23: something you try not to do?
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: No, I didn't think about it like that.
- 1:45:19Speaker 29: I mean, I watched every game and wanted them to
- 1:45:21Speaker 29: win and succeed as much as they could. I wasn't
- 1:45:25Speaker 29: really worried about anything if I was there or not,
- 1:45:27Speaker 29: but I just wanted them to win.
- 1:45:30Speaker 23: Since you've been back, like you mentioned, everything's feeling good.
- 1:45:34Speaker 23: Any pitches in particular really working well for you that
- 1:45:37Speaker 23: maybe is a surprise because it's this early in the
- 1:45:39Speaker 23: season for you?
- 1:45:40Speaker 29: No, everything feels good. Mechanics felt really good. I worked
- 1:45:43Speaker 29: with them while I was going through my rehab, just
- 1:45:46Speaker 29: trying to dial those in, and I feel like I'm
- 1:45:48Speaker 29: in a good spot and just trying to stay there.
- 1:45:51Speaker 29: Pitches feel about the same as they always have to
- 1:45:53Speaker 29: a certain degree and just trying to ride with it.
- 1:45:57Speaker 23: Nobody wants a setback where they miss time, and you
- 1:46:00Speaker 23: may not even look at it this way, but do
- 1:46:02Speaker 23: you feel like maybe starting a little bit later might
- 1:46:05Speaker 23: help you at the back end, especially considering the amount
- 1:46:09Speaker 23: of activity you've had the last couple of years?
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: I mean, maybe.
- 1:46:13Speaker 29: I mean, I guess that may just be a time
- 1:46:15Speaker 29: will tell. But I mean, I was still doing rehab,
- 1:46:17Speaker 29: you know, still throwing the, maybe not the same amount,
- 1:46:21Speaker 29: but close to it. And we'll just have to see.
- 1:46:25Speaker 23: And the bullpen as a unit, it changes every year.
- 1:46:29Speaker 23: What have you seen down there this year that's encouraging?
- 1:46:32Speaker 23: And then maybe some things that you're looking at to
- 1:46:35Speaker 23: really move forward as it goes deeper into the season?
- 1:46:39Speaker 29: I mean, I feel like it's, the same you know
- 1:46:41Speaker 29: it's been it's the past two years we still have
- 1:46:43Speaker 29: a good uh group of core guys that have been
- 1:46:45Speaker 29: here for the past couple years and whoever comes in
- 1:46:48Speaker 29: it seems like they know how to pick some good
- 1:46:50Speaker 29: people because we're having good vibes down there and uh
- 1:46:54Speaker 29: you know when our name's called it seems like everybody's
- 1:46:56Speaker 29: on board with them and hey let's ride.
- 1:46:59Speaker 23: You mentioned the good vibes does it take a little
- 1:47:01Speaker 23: bit to kind of get to know some new guys
- 1:47:03Speaker 23: and get them in the mix in terms of of
- 1:47:05Speaker 23: how you pass the time down there while you're waiting
- 1:47:07Speaker 23: for your turn.
- 1:47:08Speaker 29: To pitch No, I feel like once you're in the bullpen,
- 1:47:11Speaker 29: I may not even know you at all, but we're
- 1:47:14Speaker 29: still going to have fun.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: It picks up very quick.
- 1:47:17Speaker 23: And in terms of the returnees, who do you look
- 1:47:20Speaker 23: forward to seeing the most down there to maybe give
- 1:47:22Speaker 23: a hard time to or joke around with?
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: Definitely Tim Herron. Tim Herron, how come?
- 1:47:28Speaker 29: He's just a lefty, you know. I just got to
- 1:47:30Speaker 29: give him crap.
- 1:47:31Speaker 22: Fair enough.
- 1:47:32Speaker 23: Hey, Hunter, good to see you. Thanks for coming by.
- 1:47:34Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 1:47:34Speaker 6: I appreciate it.
- 1:47:35Speaker 23: That's Hunter Gattis.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: Stay tuned.
- 1:47:36Speaker 23: More to come after this.
- 1:47:37Speaker 18: Progressive No Sports brings people together. But you gotta feel
- 1:47:40Speaker 18: bad for people who don't even get it. Some people
- 1:47:43Speaker 18: will never know what it's like to see their favorite
- 1:47:45Speaker 18: team's hopes decided by a ping pong ball to draft
- 1:47:47Speaker 18: the next superstar.
- 1:47:49Speaker 13: Or not.
- 1:47:50Speaker 18: I mean, sure, it's silly for your happiness to hinge
- 1:47:52Speaker 18: on the success of a 20-year-old entry-level employee.
- 1:47:54Speaker 30: But you just can't help yourself.
- 1:47:55Speaker 12: The stress is exhilarating.
- 1:47:58Speaker 18: Progressive can't bring people together like the draft, but we

- 1:48:16Speaker 12: Dale's a loser.
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: I play to win. Like early pageants.

- 1:49:47Speaker 23: series between the Guardians and the Nationals. And it's time
- 1:49:51Speaker 23: now to check in with WKYC for our pregame weather.
- 1:49:54Speaker 23: It's presented by Shores and Islands Ohio.
- 1:49:57Speaker 34: We'll have a lot of cloud cover around through the
- 1:49:59Speaker 34: evening and overnight hours. Chance for a couple of brief showers,
- 1:50:02Speaker 34: especially for areas further south later tonight and into the
- 1:50:05Speaker 34: first half or so of Wednesday. From there, we do
- 1:50:08Speaker 34: try to dry out. Still going to be very warm
- 1:50:10Speaker 34: with Highs near 80 degrees through the afternoon. In the
- 1:50:13Speaker 34: 3 News Weather Center, I'm meteorologist Jessica Van Meter.
- 1:50:17Speaker 23: When we come back, Tom Hamilton checks in with manager
- 1:50:20Speaker 23: Stephen Vogt, the Key Bank Manager.
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: Show, next. Hi again, everybody. With Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt,
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: this is Tom Hamilton. Welcome.
- 1:50:35Speaker 11: It's the Manager Show, and it's brought to you by
- 1:50:38Speaker 11: Key Bank. You can't pitch any better. than you did
- 1:50:41Speaker 11: for that week in Detroit and Philadelphia. You have ballgames
- 1:50:45Speaker 11: like last night every once in a while.
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you do.
- 1:50:47Speaker 35: And obviously Tanner five days ago goes out and goes
- 1:50:50Speaker 35: eight innings, one run against the Tigers. And last night
- 1:50:53Speaker 35: wasn't his night. He made some mistakes, and they made
- 1:50:55Speaker 35: him pay for it. And that's really the story of
- 1:50:57Speaker 35: the game last night was Tanner made five mistakes early
- 1:51:00Speaker 35: in the game, and they didn't miss one of them.
- 1:51:02Speaker 35: But we know he's going to bounce back. We know
- 1:51:04Speaker 35: we're going to get better from him moving forward, and
- 1:51:06Speaker 35: he's going to learn from it.
- 1:51:07Speaker 11: So when you're sitting up in a booth and you
- 1:51:10Speaker 11: don't really know because you didn't play the game like
- 1:51:12Speaker 11: you did at this level, you start guessing.
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: Is he tipping his pitches? They seem like they know
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: what's coming. They aren't flinching on a curve, on a change.
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: Anything like that?
- 1:51:23Speaker 35: Sometimes you wonder, but then when you look at Tanner,
- 1:51:25Speaker 35: he's knock on wood, but rarely had.
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: Tipping issues if ever. And honestly, that's usually what you
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: go to. Oh, what's going on? But when you look
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: at the video, the pitches are middle and that happens
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: and that's okay. We don't want it to happen, but
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: it does. And guess what?
- 1:51:41Speaker 35: The hitters on the other side, they're pretty good too.
- 1:51:44Speaker 35: And sometimes I think we run to tipping because we
- 1:51:46Speaker 35: don't want to admit that maybe we didn't pitch as
- 1:51:48Speaker 35: well as we normally did.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: But that's okay.
- 1:51:50Speaker 35: It doesn't mean that Tanner's not good. It doesn't mean
- 1:51:52Speaker 35: that he's going to have another one like that. It
- 1:51:54Speaker 35: just means that it wasn't his night and.
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: They got him.
- 1:51:57Speaker 11: Is not having had a win getting to him at all?
- 1:52:00Speaker 11: Because to your point, against Detroit, he was flat out dominant.
- 1:52:04Speaker 11: What happens when he has a night like last night?
- 1:52:07Speaker 35: I think it's just that you have to learn from it.
- 1:52:09Speaker 35: You have to look back, okay, what did I feel?
- 1:52:11Speaker 35: What was going on? What were my pitches doing? What
- 1:52:13Speaker 35: was I doing differently? How did my body feel?
- 1:52:17Speaker 8: It happens.
- 1:52:17Speaker 35: You know, you make 32 starts in a year, you're
- 1:52:19Speaker 35: going to have a couple of them where you just
- 1:52:21Speaker 35: don't have it.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: And that's the truth.
- 1:52:23Speaker 35: But the whole win-loss record thing, I think, gets blown
- 1:52:26Speaker 35: out of proportion. We don't care what our pitchers' records are.
- 1:52:30Speaker 35: All we care about is you go out and have
- 1:52:31Speaker 35: a quality outing, and Tanner's done that more often than
- 1:52:33Speaker 35: not this year.
- 1:52:35Speaker 11: At least from where we sit. James Wood is bigger
- 1:52:38Speaker 11: than 6'6, 250. He looks like he's Paul Bunyan. How
- 1:52:42Speaker 11: impressive is he field level?
- 1:52:44Speaker 35: Yeah, I mean, he's a big guy. I mean, he
- 1:52:46Speaker 35: reminds me of Richie Sexton from the left side. I mean,
- 1:52:49Speaker 35: that's how big he looks in the box, but he's
- 1:52:52Speaker 35: a really good hitter. Obviously, he's got the power, but
- 1:52:55Speaker 35: that's a really, really, really good player.
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: Well, and then C.J. Abrams, kind of his counterpart. They're
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: about the same age. They both are going to be all-stars.
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: The shortstop, I mean, There aren't too many ball clubs
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: with two young hitters that critically important to a ball
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: club that are producing. Yeah, no, they're both.
- 1:53:13Speaker 35: They're two of the best hitters in the National League
- 1:53:15Speaker 35: right now for sure.
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: And they're doing it.
- 1:53:17Speaker 35: And they've got some really nice, you know, complimentary pieces
- 1:53:20Speaker 35: to go along with them. They've got some really good
- 1:53:22Speaker 35: position players over there. And again, they jumped us last
- 1:53:25Speaker 35: night and didn't allow us to get back into the game.
- 1:53:27Speaker 35: Now it's our turn tonight to jump them.
- 1:53:29Speaker 11: How about Logan Allen? That was a whale of an effort.
- 1:53:31Speaker 11: And obviously he gets demoted. I think that's the wrong term.
- 1:53:36Speaker 11: He's a victim of you need another arm.
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Logan was outstanding yesterday. It was really good to
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: see him back with us, too.
- 1:53:42Speaker 35: I think we've all loved watching Logan pitch over the
- 1:53:45Speaker 35: last few years. And you have to make tough decisions.
- 1:53:47Speaker 35: And the business side of this game can be cruel sometimes.
- 1:53:50Speaker 35: And when you come up to be a length option
- 1:53:52Speaker 35: in the bullpen and you use all your pitches, unfortunately,
- 1:53:55Speaker 35: we need somebody else that has pitches as a length option.
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: So it was a tough conversation with Logan. He understands.
- 1:54:02Speaker 35: He gets it. It doesn't mean it's easy or that
- 1:54:04Speaker 35: it's fun. But Logan was really good last night. And
- 1:54:07Speaker 35: like I told him, the way you threw the ball
- 1:54:09Speaker 35: last night, you're going to get your opportunity to help
- 1:54:11Speaker 35: us again and stay ready. What do you tell us
- 1:54:14Speaker 35: about Will Dion? Really, the only time we've seen him
- 1:54:17Speaker 35: is in Goodyear.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: Same here.
- 1:54:19Speaker 35: So Will is somebody who's got good stuff and he attacks.
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: I mean, he is not afraid. And you just talk
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: to him.
- 1:54:28Speaker 35: He's confident. You can tell he just wants the opportunity.
- 1:54:30Speaker 35: He's chomping at the bit to go test his abilities
- 1:54:33Speaker 35: against major league hitters. And what a cool Cool story
- 1:54:35Speaker 35: for the org, for him, for his family. I know
- 1:54:38Speaker 35: his family's flying in tonight for the game, so we're
- 1:54:41Speaker 35: all really excited for Will.
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: This is a really cool moment.
- 1:54:43Speaker 35: For him and for his family and for the organization,
- 1:54:45Speaker 35: and just really excited for Will to make his Major
- 1:54:48Speaker 35: League debut.
- 1:54:49Speaker 11: Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt, Tom Hamilton, inviting you to stay
- 1:54:52Speaker 11: tuned for Cleveland and the Nationals next on the Cleveland
- 1:54:56Speaker 11: Clinic Radio Network.
- 1:55:07Speaker 23: About 10 minutes away from tonight's first pitch here at
- 1:55:10Speaker 23: Progressive Field. Time for the pitching matchup. And the Nationals
- 1:55:14Speaker 23: go with right-hander Cade Cavalli. 2-3 on the season. An
- 1:55:18Speaker 23: earned run average of 3.86. The former first-round draft pick
- 1:55:22Speaker 23: of the Nationals back in 2020 has made 11 starts.
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: He's been a workhorse.
- 1:55:27Speaker 23: Coming off a loss his last time out against the
- 1:55:29Speaker 23: Mets on Thursday, but pitched well, allowing just two runs
- 1:55:33Speaker 23: in seven innings. He'll be opposed by lefty Joey Cantillo
- 1:55:37Speaker 23: for the Guardians, 4-1 on the year, an earned run
- 1:55:40Speaker 23: average of 3.05, coming off a beauty his last time
- 1:55:44Speaker 23: out in Detroit. This will be start number 12 on
- 1:55:47Speaker 23: the year for Cantillo, who was working out of the
- 1:55:50Speaker 23: pen last year when the Guardians faced the Nationals in D.C.
- 1:55:55Speaker 23: He pitched twice in that series. Picked up a win,
- 1:55:58Speaker 23: throwing two innings, and he did not allow a hit
- 1:56:01Speaker 23: against this tough Nationals lineup. That's your pitching matchup. That'll
- 1:56:05Speaker 23: do it for Guardians Warm-Up.
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: Stay tuned.

- 2:03:54Speaker 11: Between these two ball clubs, and you look at what
- 2:03:58Speaker 11: is going on in their respective leagues. First off, Washington
- 2:04:03Speaker 11: is now above. 500, 28-27, second place.
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: In the NL East.
- 2:04:08Speaker 11: They are eight and a half games behind the front-running
- 2:04:13Speaker 11: Atlanta Braves. Cleveland leads the AL Central with a record
- 2:04:17Speaker 11: now of 32-24 and a three and a half game
- 2:04:19Speaker 11: lead over Washington. the Chicago White Sox. Of course, now
- 2:04:25Speaker 11: you play so many interleague ballgames, as this year, for instance,
- 2:04:31Speaker 11: Cleveland is going to be playing 48 games against the
- 2:04:34Speaker 11: National League. You play 14 of those ballclubs three times each,
- 2:04:40Speaker 11: and then they play the Reds six times. So a
- 2:04:43Speaker 11: lot of interleague games now, almost one-third of your schedule.
- 2:04:48Speaker 11: And when it comes to the interleague affairs... Right now,
- 2:04:52Speaker 11: against the National League, Cleveland has posted a record of 10-9. Washington,
- 2:04:59Speaker 11: on the other hand, they've only played 10 games against
- 2:05:02Speaker 11: the American League. They are 7-3. And that's going to
- 2:05:08Speaker 11: go a long way in determining things. One, you've got
- 2:05:11Speaker 11: to do well in your division. To win a division title,
- 2:05:13Speaker 11: that's pretty much age old. But it's not as predominantly
- 2:05:18Speaker 11: structured that way as it was when you were playing Cleveland.
- 2:05:21Speaker 11: 19 games against each team in your division. Now you're
- 2:05:25Speaker 11: down to 13 games. So you better not only do
- 2:05:29Speaker 11: well within the division, but you just can't go and
- 2:05:31Speaker 11: have an interleague schedule where you end up playing 48
- 2:05:35Speaker 11: games and you find yourself going 10 and 38, or
- 2:05:40Speaker 11: you'll find yourself with a lot of early tee times
- 2:05:43Speaker 11: in October. The umpiring crew, it's Mike Estabrook behind the plate,
- 2:05:47Speaker 11: Jonathan Parra at first, Lance Barrett at second, Alfonso Marquez
- 2:05:52Speaker 11: at third, Marquez the third base umpire. Well, if we
- 2:05:56Speaker 11: thought the ball jumped out of here last night, six
- 2:05:59Speaker 11: Washington homers, one Cleveland homer. It should go even better
- 2:06:03Speaker 11: tonight because it is warmer than tonight, and we really
- 2:06:07Speaker 11: have no breeze to speak of. 325 down the lines,
- 2:06:12Speaker 11: 370 to left center, 375 to right center, 400 to
- 2:06:16Speaker 11: dead center. The 19-foot wall from the left field corner
- 2:06:19Speaker 11: to center, the 9-foot wall from the right field.
- 2:06:22Speaker 1: Corner to center field.
- 2:06:24Speaker 11: Joey Cantillo on the hill tonight for Cleveland, 6'4, 220 pounds.
- 2:06:29Speaker 11: He is 26 years of age. He is going to
- 2:06:33Speaker 11: make his third appearance against the Nationals. First time, though,
- 2:06:38Speaker 11: he's ever started in a ballgame against Washington. He's worked
- 2:06:43Speaker 11: a couple of times against them out of the bullpen.
- 2:06:47Speaker 11: Joey Cantillo is a guy that features the fastball, the curveball,
- 2:06:52Speaker 11: the slider, and the changeup. And for Joey Cantillo this year,
- 2:06:56Speaker 11: the changeup far and away his best pitch. The opposition
- 2:07:01Speaker 11: on the season is batting. 233 against Joey Cantillo. Against
- 2:07:07Speaker 11: his changeup, they haven't had much of a chance. The
- 2:07:11Speaker 11: opposition has batted. 145 against that devastating changeup of Joey Cantillo,
- 2:07:19Speaker 11: and he will throw it a lot. So Joey Cantillo
- 2:07:24Speaker 11: and the Guardians in their home whites with the navy
- 2:07:26Speaker 11: blue and the red trim. And Washington, the Navy blue tops,
- 2:07:30Speaker 11: the red and white trim, and the gray pants. Stephen
- 2:07:33Speaker 11: Kwan in left field tonight. Daniel Schneeman in center. Angel
- 2:07:37Speaker 11: Martinez is in right field. Kyle Manzardo is at first.
- 2:07:43Speaker 11: Travis Pazana at second. Brian Rocchio at short. Jose Ramirez
- 2:07:47Speaker 11: at third. And Patrick Bailey is doing the catching. Joey Cantillo,
- 2:07:55Speaker 11: he'll face a left on left matchup James Wood the
- 2:07:59Speaker 11: batter he led off the game last night with a
- 2:08:01Speaker 11: bomb to right center had a four hit game Cantillo
- 2:08:05Speaker 11: from the set and tonight's first pitch and it's in
- 2:08:09Speaker 11: that the knees a strike and we're underway at the
- 2:08:12Speaker 11: corner of Carnegie and Ontario game time temp of 70
- 2:08:15Speaker 11: degrees Cantillo from the set position, third base side of
- 2:08:21Speaker 11: the rubber. He lets it fly, and it's a curveball outside,
- 2:08:26Speaker 11: and it's challenged two pitches in.
- 2:08:29Speaker 1: By Patrick Bailey.
- 2:08:32Speaker 11: So Bailey again catching tonight a quick early challenge, and
- 2:08:36Speaker 11: he wins it, and it wasn't even close. Rough start
- 2:08:39Speaker 11: for Mike Estabrook, if that's an omen. So it's an
- 2:08:44Speaker 11: 0-2 count now. On James Wood, adding 267, 14 bombs,
- 2:08:50Speaker 11: 35 RBIs, 14 doubles. The pitch. And he fouled it back.
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: Wood is 6'6, 250.
- 2:09:01Speaker 11: And if you missed the manager's show, Stephen Vogt saying,
- 2:09:05Speaker 11: Wood reminds him of a left-handed Richie Saxon when he
- 2:09:10Speaker 11: steps in the batter's box. Now the 0-2 pitch. And
- 2:09:15Speaker 11: it dips low. One ball, two strikes. Another curveball. James
- 2:09:22Speaker 11: Wood is leading the National League in runs scored. Leading
- 2:09:29Speaker 11: the National League in walks.
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 2:09:32Speaker 11: And he checks on a pitch off the glove of Bailey.
- 2:09:35Speaker 11: Inside to the backstop. And a 2-2 count. Wood is
- 2:09:40Speaker 11: third in the National League in extra base hits and
- 2:09:43Speaker 11: in home runs. And he's fourth in OPS. Deep in
- 2:09:49Speaker 11: the box. Open stance.
- 2:09:52Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 2:09:53Speaker 11: And he got him swinging. There was a left on
- 2:09:56Speaker 11: left changeup. So Patrick Bailey lost the handle. Ball popped
- 2:10:01Speaker 11: out on the grass in front of the plate. But
- 2:10:04Speaker 11: James Wood made no effort to go to first. And
- 2:10:07Speaker 11: so it's a strikeout without having to throw down to first.
- 2:10:11Speaker 11: And that will bring up Curtis Meade. Fellow Australian Ian
- 2:10:15Speaker 11: Travis Pisano. And last night he had a couple of
- 2:10:19Speaker 11: home runs. Three RBIs. Right hand to batter. The pitch
- 2:10:25Speaker 11: to Meade. And he looks at a called strike. Nick
- 2:10:30Speaker 11: the outside corner. Joey Cantillo here in the early going.
- 2:10:40Speaker 11: Pounding that strike zone. That next pitch. And that misses.
- 2:10:45Speaker 11: One ball, one strike. Meade a. 241 hitter, seven homers,
- 2:10:53Speaker 11: 20 RBIs. Washington about as good as it gets offensively
- 2:10:59Speaker 11: in all of baseball. The pitch, waved at it. Another
- 2:11:03Speaker 11: good changeup. One ball, two strikes. The Nationals lead everybody
- 2:11:09Speaker 11: in baseball, both leagues, in runs scored, five and a
- 2:11:13Speaker 11: half a game. They lead baseball in doubles, fourth in homers,
- 2:11:17Speaker 11: fourth in steals, fourth in OPS.
- 2:11:21Speaker 1: They do it all.
- 2:11:22Speaker 11: I mean, they're on base, they hit for power, they
- 2:11:26Speaker 11: hit for extra bases, and they steal. Extremely athletic, gifted offense.
- 2:11:33Speaker 11: The pitch, down low, and the count now, 2-2. What
- 2:11:38Speaker 11: they don't do is pitch well or catch the baseball.
- 2:11:41Speaker 11: They have been very bad defensively. And they have the
- 2:11:46Speaker 11: fifth worst earned run average in all of baseball. They
- 2:11:50Speaker 11: give up five a game. They score five and a half.
- 2:11:53Speaker 11: Now the 2-2.
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: Swung on. Pulled foul. Third base side. Will do it again.
- 2:12:02Speaker 11: At 2-2. 33-year-old Blake Butera in his first year as
- 2:12:09Speaker 11: the manager of the Nationals played his college ball at
- 2:12:12Speaker 11: Boston College. The 2-2. Down low, full count. And who's
- 2:12:18Speaker 11: one of his best friends in baseball? Craig Albernaz. Said
- 2:12:24Speaker 11: Craig Albernaz was one of my managers in the minor leagues.
- 2:12:29Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 2:12:30Speaker 11: And it swung on. Lifted in the air to left foul.
- 2:12:33Speaker 11: Down the line it goes into the seats. And in fact,
- 2:12:40Speaker 11: Craig Albernaz and Blake Butera... Would have been together in Baltimore.
- 2:12:45Speaker 11: Blake Butero would have been his bench coach. Except he
- 2:12:49Speaker 11: got the manager's job in Washington when Craig Albernaz got
- 2:12:53Speaker 11: the manager's job in Baltimore. Now Cantillo, hands chest high,
- 2:13:00Speaker 11: lets it fly. And it's high. And he walked him
- 2:13:04Speaker 11: on a changeup. So Cantillo with a walk and a strikeout.
- 2:13:08Speaker 11: Meade heads down to first. That'll bring up the first
- 2:13:12Speaker 11: baseman tonight. Andres Chaparro did not play in last night's game. Chaparro,
- 2:13:22Speaker 11: right-handed hitter. He's only played in eight games, two for
- 2:13:26Speaker 11: 14 since coming up. The pitch, and it's hanging high
- 2:13:32Speaker 11: and wide. Another curveball that's just not doing anything.
- 2:13:36Speaker 1: Ball one.
- 2:13:38Speaker 11: Such a young Washington team. Man, they've got some really
- 2:13:43Speaker 11: impressive players. Youthful position players. There's a called strike and
- 2:13:50Speaker 11: another changeup. Chaparro, 26 years of age out of Venezuela.
- 2:13:58Speaker 11: Third year in the big leagues, but he's only played
- 2:14:03Speaker 11: 71 major league games. The 1-1 pitch. Runner goes. Pitch
- 2:14:08Speaker 11: fouled back and out of play. Boy, did he have
- 2:14:11Speaker 11: a great jump.
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: Back to first is Meade.
- 2:14:20Speaker 11: Patrick Bailey is a very good throwing catcher, but you
- 2:14:22Speaker 11: have to give your catcher a chance. Just a mammoth
- 2:14:27Speaker 11: jump off Cantillo that time. Bailey has thrown out 24%
- 2:14:32Speaker 11: of the would-be base stealers all season long. Down the set,
- 2:14:38Speaker 11: now the pitch. And a swing on a slow chopper
- 2:14:41Speaker 11: to third. Charged by Ramirez. Gloves goes to second. Wide throw.
- 2:14:45Speaker 11: And Bozzana kept his foot on the bag. Then came
- 2:14:49Speaker 11: off the bag to complete the catch. See if Washington
- 2:14:53Speaker 11: challenges that call at second. That throw was to the
- 2:14:57Speaker 11: first base side of second. And Bozzana did a heck
- 2:15:02Speaker 11: of a job stretching. And he indeed kept that foot
- 2:15:05Speaker 11: on the bag to get the lead runner. So Meade
- 2:15:09Speaker 11: is forced out. Chaparro is on with a fielder's choice
- 2:15:13Speaker 11: at first. Two down for C.J.
- 2:15:16Speaker 1: Abrams.
- 2:15:17Speaker 11: Another bona fide star. Left on left. The shortstop. The pitch.
- 2:15:25Speaker 11: And it's a curveball strike. Abrams last night had a
- 2:15:30Speaker 11: home run. And now he challenges the first pitch strike.
- 2:15:37Speaker 1: And he wins.
- 2:15:39Speaker 11: So for Mike Estabrook. He might want to mulligan on
- 2:15:43Speaker 11: the top of the first inning behind home plate. So
- 2:15:48Speaker 11: Abrams is right. The 1-0 pitch.
- 2:15:52Speaker 1: Curveball in there. Strike. 1-1. Abrams is batting.
- 2:15:57Speaker 21: 288.
- 2:15:58Speaker 11: A dozen homers. Leads the National League with 46 RBIs.
- 2:16:03Speaker 11: Sixth in the National League in OPS. Cantillo delivering. And
- 2:16:12Speaker 11: it's a little bit low ball two, two and one. Abrams,
- 2:16:16Speaker 11: former first round pick out of high school, out of
- 2:16:20Speaker 11: the Atlanta area. Sixth player chosen overall in the 2019 draft.
- 2:16:31Speaker 11: Getting close to making big, big money. That pitch got
- 2:16:34Speaker 11: away from Bailey. Ricochets off the backstop toward him. And
- 2:16:39Speaker 11: the wild pitch enables Chaparro to go to second. But
- 2:16:44Speaker 11: Cantillo has been all over the place here in the
- 2:16:49Speaker 11: first inning.
- 2:16:50Speaker 1: He's been high. He's been low. He's been perfect. Not
- 2:16:55Speaker 1: settled in yet. No score. Two down. Runner at second.
- 2:17:02Speaker 1: The 3-1 pitch. Swung on. Banged foul. Outside of first.
- 2:17:07Speaker 1: That's a full count.
- 2:17:09Speaker 11: That 2019 draft in which C.J. Abrams went number six overall.
- 2:17:16Speaker 11: It's one of the great drafts of all time. Adlai Rushman,
- 2:17:19Speaker 11: number one. Bobby Witt, number two.
- 2:17:21Speaker 1: That pitch.
- 2:17:22Speaker 12: Strike!
- 2:17:22Speaker 1: Three called.
- 2:17:23Speaker 11: He challenges again. I'm going to make a bet. I'm
- 2:17:27Speaker 11: betting Mike Estabrook is right for the first time this inning.
- 2:17:33Speaker 11: He's wrong again. 0 for 3.
- 2:17:36Speaker 1: It's ball four.
- 2:17:38Speaker 13: Wow.
- 2:17:39Speaker 11: When is, well, we've never seen it this year. Never
- 2:17:43Speaker 11: have we seen a major league umpire this year in
- 2:17:46Speaker 11: a half inning be challenged three times in the top half.
- 2:17:50Speaker 11: of the first and be wrong every time. So, Chaparro
- 2:17:55Speaker 11: at second. Abrams with the second walk of the inning
- 2:18:00Speaker 11: at first. Two down, no score for Dylan Cruz. Right-handed
- 2:18:04Speaker 11: hitting right fielder. And it's down low, a ball. Going
- 2:18:09Speaker 11: back to that 2019 draft. Rushman number one. Bobby Witt Jr.
- 2:18:16Speaker 11: number two. Andrew Vaughn number three.
- 2:18:18Speaker 1: J.J. Blede number four. The pitch. Curveball down and in.
- 2:18:24Speaker 13: 2-0.
- 2:18:24Speaker 11: Riley Green was number five overall with the Tigers. Then C.J.
- 2:18:29Speaker 1: Abrams.
- 2:18:31Speaker 11: Boy, if you were redoing that draft, it would be
- 2:18:34Speaker 11: interesting to see how it would go. Bobby Witt would
- 2:18:36Speaker 11: be far and away the number one choice.
- 2:18:39Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 2:18:40Speaker 11: Swing and a pop foul out of play to the right,
- 2:18:42Speaker 11: two and one. Shea Langeleers went number nine to Atlanta.
- 2:18:48Speaker 11: He's becoming a star with Sacramento. Corbin Carroll went number
- 2:18:54Speaker 11: 16 with Arizona. He's already a star. That was some
- 2:19:01Speaker 11: loaded first round. Meanwhile, no score, two out, two on
- 2:19:06Speaker 11: the two-one pitch. Cruz takes. That looked like a strike.
- 2:19:10Speaker 11: It's called a ball. And another challenge by Patrick Bailey.
- 2:19:14Speaker 11: Fourth challenge in the inning. Two by Bailey, two by
- 2:19:18Speaker 11: the hitter. And Mike Estabrook is 0 for 4. And
- 2:19:23Speaker 11: he has got to be hoping that nobody in New
- 2:19:26Speaker 11: York is watching the top of the first inning. He
- 2:19:35Speaker 11: could have flipped a coin and gotten two out of
- 2:19:37Speaker 11: the four, right? Here's the set. Here's the 2-2 delivery.
- 2:19:43Speaker 11: Swung on a chopper up the middle. Behind second, grabbed
- 2:19:46Speaker 11: by Rocchio. Guns to first to get Dylan Cruz. Nobody
- 2:19:50Speaker 11: happier to see the top of the first inning end
- 2:19:53Speaker 11: than home plate umpire Mike Estabrook. No score in Cleveland.
- 2:19:57Speaker 36: When you tell someone what team you cheer for, do

- 2:21:52Speaker 1: Well, Cleveland..
- 2:21:55Speaker 11: Will come to bat here in the first inning against
- 2:21:58Speaker 11: a right-handed pitcher who can't get left-handed batters out. Well,
- 2:22:02Speaker 11: that is tailor-made for this Cleveland lineup. That's not to
- 2:22:07Speaker 11: say that Cade Cavalli won't be outstanding tonight, but boy,
- 2:22:11Speaker 11: the numbers would indicate Cavalli's got.
- 2:22:14Speaker 1: A tough assignment.
- 2:22:16Speaker 11: 6'4, 245, 27 years of age. Cavalli, fastball sinker, curve slider, changeup.
- 2:22:29Speaker 11: We've already had a pitch clock violation on Cavalli. It's
- 2:22:33Speaker 11: a 1-0 count on Travis Pazana. The pitch, and it's
- 2:22:37Speaker 11: now a 1-1 count. What a wild start to this
- 2:22:40Speaker 11: first inning. All left-handed lineup for manager Steven Vogt. Cavalli
- 2:22:46Speaker 11: facing Cleveland for the first time ever. Big man throws
- 2:22:50Speaker 11: hard mid-90s. The kick and the 1-1 and it's foul
- 2:22:55Speaker 11: tip 1-2. Left hand of batters this year hitting 3-36
- 2:23:02Speaker 11: against Cavalli. 3-36 right hand of batters. None in the lineup.
- 2:23:08Speaker 11: Batting 2-0-2. Now the 1-2. Swung on a weak bouncing
- 2:23:14Speaker 11: ball to the second baseman. Nunez charges, gloves, and throws
- 2:23:17Speaker 11: out Bozano. That'll bring up Jose Ramirez. Switch hitter batting left-handed.
- 2:23:24Speaker 11: Overall for Cade Cavalli, two wins, three losses, ERA 386.
- 2:23:31Speaker 11: 12th start, no complete games, five innings to start. He
- 2:23:36Speaker 11: averages 10 strikeouts, three walks per nine. The team's batting overall,
- 2:23:41Speaker 11: 274 against him. Cade Cavalli. The pitch, and it's swung on,
- 2:23:49Speaker 11: blooped in the air to shallow left. Abrams racing out.
- 2:23:53Speaker 11: The shortstop has a tick off his glove. Rolls towards
- 2:23:56Speaker 11: left field into second with a double is Ramirez. Almost
- 2:24:00Speaker 11: a collision with Wood and Abrams. Wood, the left fielder,
- 2:24:05Speaker 11: charging in. Abrams, the shortstop, racing out into left. And
- 2:24:10Speaker 11: he had his back to home plate, reached up and
- 2:24:13Speaker 11: glanced off his glove and rolled more toward left. Woods
- 2:24:16Speaker 11: had to get out of the way to avoid the collision.
- 2:24:20Speaker 11: They brushed each other, but nothing significant. And Jose Ramirez
- 2:24:25Speaker 11: gets a gift double. That is his 12th. But somebody
- 2:24:30Speaker 11: should have caught that one. Here's Chase DeLauder DH-ing tonight
- 2:24:37Speaker 11: in a bit of a funk. Chase DeLauder, left-handed hitter.
- 2:24:42Speaker 11: A look at second, Cavalli's pitch, and he went curveball strike.
- 2:24:51Speaker 11: DeLauder now batting 143 over the last 14 games. The set,
- 2:25:03Speaker 11: the pitch. And it's a fastball painted the outside corner.
- 2:25:06Speaker 11: He challenges the call. Fifth challenge of the first inning.
- 2:25:14Speaker 11: And this time, Mike Estabrook is right. So Cleveland now
- 2:25:21Speaker 11: one challenge left for the night. Nothing into the count
- 2:25:26Speaker 11: on DeLauder. The look back at second. The pitch down low.
- 2:25:34Speaker 11: Tried to get him to chase that curve. Cavalli pitched
- 2:25:38Speaker 11: at the University of Oklahoma. Was the number one pick
- 2:25:42Speaker 11: in the COVID draft 2020. He was the 22nd player
- 2:25:47Speaker 11: chosen in that first round. The 1-2. And before it's
- 2:25:52Speaker 11: made a throw to second, C.J. Abrams the shortstop. Nine
- 2:25:57Speaker 11: feet behind the bag. But he caught the throw. As
- 2:26:02Speaker 11: Hosey dove back. One ball, two strikes. One out, nobody on.
- 2:26:07Speaker 11: No score, first inning. Cavalli's ready. Here it comes. And
- 2:26:15Speaker 11: it's fouled on the left side. Still one and two.
- 2:26:18Speaker 11: James Wood is in left field. Terrific center fielder, Jacob Young,
- 2:26:24Speaker 11: Dylan Cruz in right. Andres Chaparro at first. Nassim Nunez
- 2:26:30Speaker 11: at second.
- 2:26:31Speaker 1: C.J.
- 2:26:32Speaker 11: Abrams at third, at short. Curtis Meade at third and
- 2:26:37Speaker 11: Gabert Ruiz doing the catching. Dancing off the bag and
- 2:26:42Speaker 11: getting the attention of Cavalli was Jose Ramirez. Cavalli had
- 2:26:47Speaker 11: to step off. Ramirez looked like he was going to
- 2:26:51Speaker 11: walk into third. He leads the American League with 20 steals.
- 2:26:57Speaker 11: Abrams trying to keep him close to pitch. Swung on,
- 2:27:00Speaker 11: broken bat, a roller to the second baseman. Nunez will
- 2:27:03Speaker 11: flip it over. The lot are out number two. Ramirez
- 2:27:06Speaker 11: to third. No score for Kyle Manzardo. 218 batting mark.
- 2:27:12Speaker 11: Five homers, 17 RBIs. Susie Kaiser of Cleveland trying to

- 2:27:28Speaker 11: Kaiser trying to get into the Conrad's Four Tire Contest.
- 2:27:37Speaker 11: Pitch way inside that breaking ball.
- 2:27:39Speaker 1: Almost hit him. Cavalli basically missed 20-23 and 20-24 from
- 2:27:46Speaker 1: Tommy John's surgery. Now the 1-0.
- 2:27:59Speaker 11: Curveball strike, one and one. Last year made 10 starts
- 2:28:04Speaker 11: with Washington, was three and one with a 4.25 ERA.
- 2:28:08Speaker 11: First time he made it to the big leagues and
- 2:28:12Speaker 11: now in the rotation this year from the get-go. The
- 2:28:17Speaker 11: one-one pitch. Check swing followed third base side, one and two.
- 2:28:23Speaker 11: This is start number 12 for Cade Cavalli. Two wins,
- 2:28:27Speaker 11: three losses, 386 ERA. Five innings to start, ten strikeouts,
- 2:28:32Speaker 11: three walks per nine innings. Ramirez, he's at third, two
- 2:28:39Speaker 11: down in the scoreless first, and the one-two pitch. Got
- 2:28:45Speaker 11: him swinging good-looking curveball, strikes out Manzardo, and we've played
- 2:28:50Speaker 11: an inning in downtown Cleveland. Scoreless on the Cleveland Clinic
- 2:28:54Speaker 11: Radio Network.
- 2:28:57Speaker 3: News Radio 570 WKBN, Youngstown.
- 2:29:08Speaker 11: Brian Motze informs us this game is on an historical pace.
- 2:29:14Speaker 11: No score, second inning, left on left. Fastball up and
- 2:29:18Speaker 11: in from Joey Cantillo to the DH, Dalen Lyle. Cantillo,
- 2:29:26Speaker 11: the set, made 29 pitches in that first inning. He fires,
- 2:29:30Speaker 11: and it's fouled back and out.
- 2:29:32Speaker 1: Of play, 1-1.
- 2:29:33Speaker 11: According to Brian Motze, the Major League record, and it's
- 2:29:38Speaker 11: only two months old, most challenges in the ABS system
- 2:29:43Speaker 11: this year in a Major.
- 2:29:44Speaker 1: League game, 12.
- 2:29:46Speaker 11: We have five in the first inning. The pitch, down low,
- 2:29:51Speaker 11: ball two, 2-1. So right now, We're on pace for
- 2:29:56Speaker 11: 45 challenges. Let's see if that slows down.
- 2:30:00Speaker 1: But 12 challenges, the most in a game this year.
- 2:30:03Speaker 1: Thank you, Motts.
- 2:30:05Speaker 11: The pitch to Lyle. And it nailed the outside corner.
- 2:30:09Speaker 11: And they count two and two. Marathon knows you fans
- 2:30:13Speaker 11: are the true co-pilot of any team. Marathon here to
- 2:30:16Speaker 11: keep you and your team fueled all season long.
- 2:30:19Speaker 1: Marathon driven together.
- 2:30:28Speaker 11: Down the 2-2. High with the curveball. Boy, he just
- 2:30:35Speaker 11: can't right now consistently get the ball down with his
- 2:30:39Speaker 11: breaking ball. And for Cantillo, this could be a short
- 2:30:43Speaker 11: night if he can't rein it in from a pitch
- 2:30:46Speaker 11: count standpoint. The payoff, and it's low, and he walked him. So,
- 2:30:53Speaker 11: three walks already for Cantillo, and against this lineup, the
- 2:30:57Speaker 11: way they thump leading all of baseball in home runs
- 2:31:02Speaker 11: and doubles, you are asking for trouble. So Cantillo has
- 2:31:11Speaker 11: not made more than four walks in a start this year.
- 2:31:14Speaker 11: He's had three here in the second inning. Here's Jacob Young,
- 2:31:18Speaker 11: the center fielder, at a homer last night.
- 2:31:21Speaker 1: He takes. It's a touch high.
- 2:31:23Speaker 12: Ball one.
- 2:31:25Speaker 11: Cleveland did have to make a move after the game.
- 2:31:28Speaker 11: Great job by Logan Allen out of the pen last
- 2:31:30Speaker 11: night to save the bullpen with four innings of an
- 2:31:35Speaker 11: essence scoreless run. The two off of unearned. That changeup
- 2:31:40Speaker 11: in the dirt, and Cantillo looks flustered on the mound.
- 2:31:43Speaker 11: 2-0 the count. But Cleveland needed a fresh arm, and
- 2:31:50Speaker 11: so we're going to get the first look Of a
- 2:31:54Speaker 11: youngster who wasn't even on the 40-man squad. Here's the
- 2:31:58Speaker 11: 2-0 pitch. A swing and a shot on one hop.
- 2:32:02Speaker 11: Back up the middle by the diving. Pazana into center. Oh,
- 2:32:05Speaker 11: Jacob Young squared that baby up. And a base hit
- 2:32:10Speaker 11: to center. Lyle has to stop at second. That ball
- 2:32:13Speaker 11: was just simply hit too hard. And so, two on
- 2:32:21Speaker 11: with nobody out. Will Dion is now in the Cleveland bullpen.
- 2:32:25Speaker 11: He'll give them some length tonight if they need it.
- 2:32:29Speaker 11: Though he didn't pitch a ton of innings in Columbus
- 2:32:33Speaker 11: this year. Being used out of the bullpen, but can
- 2:32:38Speaker 11: give you multiple innings. Nassim Nunez at the plate. See
- 2:32:43Speaker 11: if he's bunting. Cleveland up at the corners. He'll bat right-handed.
- 2:32:47Speaker 11: He'll not show bunt. He'll take a change-up strike. This
- 2:32:52Speaker 11: Washington ball club leading all of baseball in runs scored.
- 2:33:04Speaker 11: The pitch and it's high and he doesn't show bunt again.
- 2:33:09Speaker 11: And the count now one and one when it comes
- 2:33:12Speaker 11: to the sacrifice bunt. Only one bunt by Jacob Young
- 2:33:18Speaker 11: this year who just Whistled that base hit into center.
- 2:33:25Speaker 11: That pitch down low. Nope.
- 2:33:27Speaker 1: Called a strike. I beg your pardon.
- 2:33:29Speaker 11: Nunez at the plate has five sack bunts. Washington, like Cleveland,
- 2:33:34Speaker 11: bunts a lot. Ten for the Nats. Eleven for Cleveland.
- 2:33:39Speaker 11: But not here in the early innings.
- 2:33:41Speaker 1: No score. Two on.
- 2:33:42Speaker 11: Nobody out. The turn but no throw. Nunez, some feel,
- 2:33:48Speaker 11: is Washington's best shortstop. But They have C.J. Abrams there,
- 2:33:53Speaker 11: and he wants to play short. And, of course, a
- 2:33:56Speaker 11: couple of years, he'll be a free agent. Now the one-two.
- 2:34:00Speaker 11: Down in the dirt.
- 2:34:01Speaker 1: Two and two.
- 2:34:02Speaker 11: And another curveball. Not even a competitive curveball. These curveballs
- 2:34:08Speaker 11: are not close. And for Joey Cantillo, an even split.
- 2:34:13Speaker 11: 21 strikes, 21 balls. Now the one thing about Cantillo,
- 2:34:19Speaker 11: he's been one of the.
- 2:34:20Speaker 1: Best in the game. Went in trouble. The 2-2. Down low.
- 2:34:26Speaker 11: Kicked away from Bailey. That was a change up. And
- 2:34:30Speaker 11: everybody moves up on the wild pitch. Now two wild pitches.
- 2:34:36Speaker 11: Three walks. We haven't seen Carl Willis yet. And now
- 2:34:44Speaker 11: full count on the number eight hitter. Nunez batting a
- 2:34:47Speaker 11: buck 88. No home runs. 16 RBIs. Infield in. And
- 2:34:55Speaker 11: Cantillo with a payoff pitch.
- 2:34:58Speaker 1: Swung on.
- 2:34:59Speaker 11: This is hit in the air. Shallow left. Kwon charging in.
- 2:35:02Speaker 11: Makes the catch. Nobody can move up. So a shallow
- 2:35:07Speaker 11: fly out to left off the bat of Nunez. Keeps
- 2:35:10Speaker 11: runners at second and third. And this is the oddity
- 2:35:15Speaker 11: of Joey Cantillo. And it's a good oddity. But he
- 2:35:19Speaker 11: puts a lot of people on, but then they don't capitalize.
- 2:35:24Speaker 11: When he's in trouble, the opposition is batting 114 with
- 2:35:30Speaker 11: men in scoring position. That's the fourth lowest mark in
- 2:35:35Speaker 11: all of baseball. Here's Cabert Ruiz, switch hitting catcher, batting right-handed.
- 2:35:41Speaker 11: He looks at a called strike. 252 hitter, four homers,
- 2:35:45Speaker 11: 22 RBIs. What that tells you is Cantillo doesn't panic.
- 2:35:51Speaker 11: Maintains composure when he's in trouble.
- 2:35:55Speaker 1: The 0-1. Down low. Missed with a curveball. 1-1. But 1-14.
- 2:36:04Speaker 11: The opposition hits with men in scoring position off Cantillo.
- 2:36:09Speaker 11: Two runners in scoring position. Now second and third. One out.
- 2:36:13Speaker 1: Infield in. No score. The pitch.
- 2:36:16Speaker 11: Swung on, dribbled foul into the third base dugout where
- 2:36:19Speaker 11: the Guardians are. And they count one and two. Lyle
- 2:36:32Speaker 11: at third. Young at second. Ruiz at the plate awaiting
- 2:36:38Speaker 11: the one-two pitch. Again, infield in. Here it comes. And
- 2:36:43Speaker 11: he chops one up the middle by the diving Rokio.
- 2:36:46Speaker 11: That scores two. That's what happens when the infield's in.
- 2:36:50Speaker 11: And a weak chopper like that finds a hole. Instead
- 2:36:53Speaker 11: of an out with the infield in, that becomes a
- 2:36:57Speaker 11: two-run single to left center. The old adage, the infield
- 2:37:01Speaker 11: in adds about 100 points to a hitter's batting average.
- 2:37:06Speaker 11: And Cantillo's finally paid a price. And here comes the
- 2:37:09Speaker 11: pitching coach, Carl Willis. As right now, Washington has a
- 2:37:15Speaker 11: 2-0 lead and they're just picking up where they left off.
- 2:37:18Speaker 11: Last night, 10 runs on 15 hits, 6 of them
- 2:37:23Speaker 11: home runs. Tonight, a walk, a single, a wild pitch,
- 2:37:28Speaker 11: a drawn in infielder. a little weak chopper, found a
- 2:37:32Speaker 11: hole and a two-run single to left center, and now
- 2:37:35Speaker 11: you turn the lineup back over. Whenever the Guardians win,
- 2:37:39Speaker 11: Northeast Ohio Ford dealers donate $ 500 to Cleveland Guardians charities
- 2:37:45Speaker 11: that'll support youth sports in Cleveland. James Wood struck out
- 2:37:50Speaker 11: his first time up. Left on left. Ruiz at first.
- 2:37:54Speaker 1: One out. The pitch.
- 2:37:56Speaker 11: And it's inside. A ball missing on the curveball. This
- 2:38:03Speaker 11: will be the 50th pitch in the ballgame for Cantillo.
- 2:38:08Speaker 11: One out here in the second inning.
- 2:38:10Speaker 1: Here it comes. And it's in there. A strike.
- 2:38:14Speaker 11: Boy, he's not thrown many fastballs. Finally threw one there.
- 2:38:17Speaker 11: But that was only... 91 miles an hour. That might
- 2:38:21Speaker 11: have been a get-me-over fastball, but that get-me-over fastball can
- 2:38:24Speaker 11: go a long way if you're not careful. The next pitch,
- 2:38:28Speaker 11: whack to deep right. Well, there she goes. Down the
- 2:38:31Speaker 11: line and gone. A two-run home run on an absolute missile.
- 2:38:38Speaker 11: Down the right field line by James Wood.
- 2:38:41Speaker 12: 4-0 Washington.
- 2:38:48Speaker 1: He threw him a changeup.
- 2:38:51Speaker 11: And again, Washington hasn't been fooled in either game by
- 2:38:56Speaker 11: off speed. Changeups have been Tanner Bybee and Joey Cantillo's
- 2:39:02Speaker 11: best pitches this year. Nobody's been hitting them. Washington hasn't
- 2:39:06Speaker 11: been fooled two nights in a row.
- 2:39:10Speaker 1: 4-0 Nationals.
- 2:39:12Speaker 11: Wood has 15 homers, 37 RBIs. The pitch, up high,
- 2:39:18Speaker 11: ball one to Curtis Meade. So he got away with
- 2:39:22Speaker 11: it in the first, but Cantillo doesn't get away with
- 2:39:28Speaker 11: the lack of command here in the second. The pitch,
- 2:39:31Speaker 11: and it's down low, 2-0 the count.
- 2:39:34Speaker 23: Tom, you touched on it, the fastball velocity down, and
- 2:39:37Speaker 23: he's got to throw that fastball to make the changeup
- 2:39:40Speaker 23: look better if it's going well, but he just hasn't
- 2:39:42Speaker 23: had that tonight.
- 2:39:44Speaker 1: The pitch..
- 2:39:46Speaker 11: And it's ball three down low. 3-0 the count. Cantillo's ready.
- 2:39:58Speaker 11: Here it comes. In there, a strike. Well, last night,
- 2:40:05Speaker 11: only three innings out of Tanner Bybee. You can't go
- 2:40:08Speaker 11: to the bullpen this early. But you also are trying
- 2:40:11Speaker 11: to stay in the game. Now the 3-1 pitch. Swing
- 2:40:16Speaker 11: and a chopper to third.
- 2:40:18Speaker 1: Foul.
- 2:40:19Speaker 12: Full count.
- 2:40:21Speaker 1: One out. Nobody on.
- 2:40:23Speaker 10: 4-0.
- 2:40:24Speaker 11: Washington living up to its billing as baseball's best offense.
- 2:40:33Speaker 11: Cantillo lets it fly. And the pitch pounded foul. Third
- 2:40:39Speaker 11: base side will do it again at 3-2 on Curtis
- 2:40:42Speaker 11: Meade who walked his first time up. Cantillo came in
- 2:40:49Speaker 11: with an ERA of. 305, and Washington is smoking hot. The.
- 2:40:57Speaker 11: 32 checked on a curve down and in.
- 2:41:00Speaker 1: I mean, folks, they're not chasing anything.
- 2:41:02Speaker 11: They never seem to flinch or be fooled by a
- 2:41:06Speaker 11: curveball or a changeup. That is the fourth walk issued
- 2:41:11Speaker 11: by Cantillo. And here comes Andres Chaparro.
- 2:41:19Speaker 1: Chaparro.
- 2:41:22Speaker 11: Grounded out his first time up. Right-handed batter. The pitch.
- 2:41:30Speaker 11: And he got it in there. Called strike on the curveball.
- 2:41:35Speaker 11: Cleveland's bullpen will get busy. Cody Hoyer, the right-hander. The
- 2:41:45Speaker 11: next offering, in there again, strike two. Well, you don't
- 2:41:49Speaker 11: want to torch your bullpen. The good news is you've
- 2:41:52Speaker 11: got an off day Thursday, but you also can't just
- 2:41:56Speaker 11: chuck away two games in the early going.
- 2:42:01Speaker 1: Last night and tonight, the pitch, up high, one and
- 2:42:05Speaker 1: two to count.
- 2:42:10Speaker 20: Runner at first, one down.
- 2:42:16Speaker 11: 4-0 Washington, second inning. The pitch, runner goes, swung on, skied,
- 2:42:22Speaker 11: foul back and out of play. Boy, are they getting
- 2:42:25Speaker 11: big jumps on Cantillo. Who's ever doing their advanced scouting
- 2:42:30Speaker 11: is doing a great job for the Washington Nationals.
- 2:42:34Speaker 1: My goodness.
- 2:42:37Speaker 11: They're ultra-athletic, they're ultra-aggressive, and they have really taken it
- 2:42:43Speaker 11: to Cleveland last night and now tonight. There he started,
- 2:42:48Speaker 11: stops Meade with a fly ball, shallow center. Schneeman coming
- 2:42:52Speaker 11: in to grab it.
- 2:42:53Speaker 1: Two down. Eighth man to bat in the inning will
- 2:42:57Speaker 1: be C.J.
- 2:42:58Speaker 5: Abrams.
- 2:42:59Speaker 11: Walked his first time up. Runner at first, two down.
- 2:43:06Speaker 11: Nats up 4-0 with a four-run second. Joey Cantillo has
- 2:43:13Speaker 11: not given up. More than four runs in any start
- 2:43:17Speaker 11: this year. Nationals have four in one inning.
- 2:43:25Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 2:43:26Speaker 11: Check swing, foul, strike one. Now the good news is
- 2:43:32Speaker 11: for Cleveland, they're only in the second inning. Long way
- 2:43:36Speaker 11: to go in this one.
- 2:43:46Speaker 1: Now the 0-1.
- 2:43:51Speaker 11: Swung on, lifted in the air, foul. This is going
- 2:43:54Speaker 11: to reach the home plate seating area.
- 2:43:55Speaker 13: 0-2.
- 2:44:12Speaker 1: Cantillo.
- 2:44:14Speaker 11: Hands chest high. A look at first. Here it comes.
- 2:44:19Speaker 11: And it's popped up again. Behind the plate. And again,
- 2:44:23Speaker 11: a souvenir. And again, they count 0-2. Now the pitch
- 2:44:48Speaker 11: pulled foul right side. He went changeup and again. There
- 2:44:53Speaker 11: are no swings and misses from this Nats lineup the
- 2:44:57Speaker 11: first two nights. Still a no-two count. Now time called.
- 2:45:18Speaker 11: Now the 0-2. Down and away, one and two to count. Boy,
- 2:45:23Speaker 11: there are just no quick advance. They are torture for
- 2:45:28Speaker 11: this Cleveland pitching staff. Five pitches and counting for C.J.
- 2:45:33Speaker 1: Abrams.
- 2:45:34Speaker 11: Cantillo is about to make his 69th pitch of the night,
- 2:45:38Speaker 11: and we're in the second inning. 40th pitch of this inning.
- 2:45:43Speaker 1: Here it comes. Runner goes. Pitch taken. Outside throw to
- 2:45:47Speaker 1: second of beauty.
- 2:45:48Speaker 11: Tag made by Rocchio on the head first sliding Curtis Meade.
- 2:45:52Speaker 11: An absolute bazooka throw by Patrick Bailey to gun down
- 2:45:58Speaker 11: Curtis Meade. We go to the bottom of the second.
- 2:46:02Speaker 1: 4-0 Nance.
- 2:46:04Speaker 24: Big crowds tonight for Sugardale Dollar Dog Night at Progressive Field.
- 2:46:08Speaker 1: Ah, the sounds of sun.
- 2:46:11Speaker 39: Nothing pulls fans to the concession stand like a Sugardale
- 2:46:14Speaker 39: dollar dog. And don't forget, you can enjoy that same
- 2:46:18Speaker 39: mouth-watering Sugardale hot dog at home. Slow smoke, perfectly seasoned.
- 2:46:23Speaker 39: Made right here in Ohio for over 100 years. Don't wait.
- 2:46:30Speaker 39: Make tonight a Sugardale hot dog night.

- 2:47:48Speaker 12: News Radio 570 WKBN. Youngstown.
- 2:48:03Speaker 1: 4-0 Washington.
- 2:48:04Speaker 11: Daniel Schneeman leading off. The right-hander, Kurt Cavalli, catches the
- 2:48:10Speaker 11: inside corner. Called strike. Schneeman, another guy that has been
- 2:48:16Speaker 11: in a bit of a slide. Left-handed hitter in center field.
- 2:48:22Speaker 11: The pitch from Cavalli outside a ball to even the count.
- 2:48:27Speaker 1: Schneeman.
- 2:48:27Speaker 13: Schneeman.
- 2:48:30Speaker 11: Has now batted 145 in the month of May. Cavalli,
- 2:48:39Speaker 11: that hybrid delivery, and it's waved at through by him. So,
- 2:48:46Speaker 11: one-two count on Daniel Schneeman, who's had a good year
- 2:48:49Speaker 11: playing everywhere. 243 batting mark, four homers, 19 RBIs. Cleveland
- 2:48:58Speaker 11: looking for a spark to get back in it. Schneeman
- 2:49:01Speaker 11: fouling it to the upper deck. One ball, two strikes.
- 2:49:13Speaker 11: Angel Martinez, Stephen Kwan to follow. Cavalli's pitch. And it
- 2:49:23Speaker 11: is swung on, hit in the air, fairly deep, toward
- 2:49:26Speaker 11: the line, left field, out of play foul.
- 2:49:29Speaker 1: Do it again. And a ball and two strikes.
- 2:49:42Speaker 11: Delightful night on the shores of Lake Erie. 70 degrees,
- 2:49:47Speaker 11: an absence of wind, cloud cover, but delightful.
- 2:49:51Speaker 1: Now the 1-2. Got him swinging.
- 2:49:55Speaker 11: Moved that ball in on the thumbs and Schneeman out
- 2:49:58Speaker 11: number one, strikeout number two. There's Angel Martinez, switch hitter
- 2:50:04Speaker 11: in left field. He'll bat left handed. He is in
- 2:50:08Speaker 11: a two for 23 skid. Bunch of guys have gone
- 2:50:17Speaker 11: cold at the same time.
- 2:50:21Speaker 1: The pitch.
- 2:50:22Speaker 11: And a swing and a broken bat. Lupert in the
- 2:50:25Speaker 11: second baseman. Nunez out to Snagit in shallow right. Not
- 2:50:31Speaker 11: much mustard on that.
- 2:50:32Speaker 1: Two down.
- 2:50:33Speaker 11: Here's Stephen Kwan batting 204 with a homer.
- 2:50:37Speaker 1: And 12 RBIs.
- 2:50:51Speaker 11: Two down, nobody on. Cleveland down, four zip. Cavalli lets
- 2:50:57Speaker 11: it fly. Showing bunt, taking a strike. Stephen Kwan, nothing
- 2:51:01Speaker 11: and one to count. The next offering. Way outside, a
- 2:51:22Speaker 11: ball and a strike. Cody Hoyer back throwing, so that
- 2:51:28Speaker 11: means the night is over for Joey Cantillo. One would
- 2:51:31Speaker 11: assume that's because he made 40 pitches in that second inning. Boy,
- 2:51:36Speaker 11: you've got to be careful making that many pitches in
- 2:51:39Speaker 11: an inning. Pitches wide, 2-1. Boston's in town Friday night.
- 2:51:44Speaker 11: Dollar Dogs, Big Fireworks Show. And tickets still available, cleguardians.com.
- 2:51:51Speaker 11: Two down, second inning, 4-0 Washington. The 2-1 pitch to Kwon.
- 2:51:59Speaker 11: And it's a strike, 2-2. Cade Cavalli. Made his major
- 2:52:09Speaker 11: league debut in August of 2022, then Tommy John surgery,
- 2:52:13Speaker 11: and it was three years later before he pitched.
- 2:52:16Speaker 1: Again in the big leagues. Pitch is down low, full count.
- 2:52:22Speaker 11: Boy, the University of Oklahoma has produced some hard-throwing right-handers
- 2:52:27Speaker 11: in particular when you think of major league pitchers that
- 2:52:31Speaker 11: were Oklahoma Sooners. Now the payoff pitch. And Kwon hits
- 2:52:40Speaker 11: one in the air to left field, not deep. Wood
- 2:52:43Speaker 11: backing up a little bit. And another quick inning for Cleveland.
- 2:52:48Speaker 1: 4-0 Washington. Third is next. This is the Cleveland Clinic
- 2:52:51Speaker 1: Radio Network.
- 2:52:53Speaker 7: Our world.
- 2:52:54Speaker 3: News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 2:52:58Speaker 12: Youngstown.
- 2:53:05Speaker 11: Well, the night is over for Joey Cantillo. Just had
- 2:53:09Speaker 11: a tough time.
- 2:53:11Speaker 1: Landing.
- 2:53:12Speaker 11: His secondary pitch is consistently for strikes, so Cody Hoyer
- 2:53:16Speaker 11: takes over for Joey Cantillo. 4-0 Nats, third inning. Cleanup
- 2:53:22Speaker 11: man C.J. Abrams checks on a pitch down and in.
- 2:53:25Speaker 1: Ball one.
- 2:53:26Speaker 11: Well, this Cleveland rotation has been so good, so consistent,
- 2:53:33Speaker 11: that you'll have a couple of hiccups like tonight, last night.
- 2:53:36Speaker 1: It's part of the game.
- 2:53:38Speaker 11: Hoyer cuts, or I should say delivers, and Abrams cuts
- 2:53:42Speaker 11: and misses. Hoyer making his third appearance. Been back and
- 2:53:47Speaker 11: forth here a little bit. He's only worked two and
- 2:53:50Speaker 11: two-thirds innings, giving up a run. The pitch, and Abrams
- 2:53:53Speaker 11: sends one high and foul out of play, third base side.
- 2:54:00Speaker 11: And they count one and two. Now the problem for
- 2:54:03Speaker 11: Joey Cantillo, too, is that he had to make 40
- 2:54:07Speaker 11: pitches in that second inning. The pitch, down and in.
- 2:54:13Speaker 8: 2-2.
- 2:54:13Speaker 11: That's an area where manager and pitching coach get really concerned.
- 2:54:19Speaker 11: 69 pitches in two innings is a boatload, but 40
- 2:54:22Speaker 11: in one inning, that's the red flag.
- 2:54:25Speaker 1: Now the 2-2.
- 2:54:26Speaker 11: Hoyer's pitch is whacked into right field.
- 2:54:29Speaker 1: Face it, Abrams.
- 2:54:31Speaker 11: Well, I tell you what, you could watch Abrams and
- 2:54:35Speaker 11: Wood step into the box and never get tired of
- 2:54:38Speaker 11: watching them swing the lumber. Unless you're that guy 60 feet,
- 2:54:43Speaker 11: 6 inches away. They have two pretty swings. Young, mid-20s players.
- 2:54:51Speaker 11: Impact franchise type players. And they hit one and four
- 2:54:57Speaker 11: in the Nats lineup. Here's Dylan Cruz, the right fielder.
- 2:55:02Speaker 11: He takes, and it's in there, a called strike. Dylan Cruz,
- 2:55:08Speaker 11: he is trying to get his career going. headed in
- 2:55:11Speaker 11: the same direction of his former college teammate Paul Skeens.
- 2:55:16Speaker 11: The pitch leans him back. You wonder how LSU won
- 2:55:20Speaker 11: a national title? They had the two top picks in
- 2:55:24Speaker 11: the draft in 2023. Paul Skeens went to the Pirates
- 2:55:28Speaker 11: then Dylan Cruz to Washington. Pitch way outside 2-1. Max
- 2:55:34Speaker 11: Clark the young high school outfielder that is going to
- 2:55:39Speaker 11: be in Detroit in the not-too-distant future, was the third
- 2:55:42Speaker 11: pick three years ago. Wyatt Langford, we've seen him with Texas.
- 2:55:46Speaker 11: He was the fourth pick coming out of the University
- 2:55:48Speaker 11: of Florida. The pitch, check swing, did he go? Yep,
- 2:55:53Speaker 11: on the appeal, 2-2. That was the same draft that
- 2:55:57Speaker 11: got Jacob Wilson to Oakland.
- 2:56:01Speaker 1: The Athletics' outstanding young shortstop. What an incredible draft.
- 2:56:07Speaker 11: First round that was now the 2-2 delivery swung on
- 2:56:16Speaker 11: hit in the air deep right back is Martinez in
- 2:56:19Speaker 11: front of the track to corral it Cruz out number
- 2:56:23Speaker 11: one Abrams stays at first.
- 2:56:28Speaker 1: For Cleveland 20-23 draft pretty good for.
- 2:56:30Speaker 11: Them too Ralphie Velasquez We may see him in Cleveland
- 2:56:40Speaker 11: make his major league debut this summer at the age
- 2:56:43Speaker 11: of 21. What a first round. Here's Dalen Lyle. Walked
- 2:56:49Speaker 11: his first time up. Cody Hoyer guns one over to first.
- 2:56:53Speaker 11: And back with the dive is Abrams who has seven
- 2:56:56Speaker 11: stolen bases.
- 2:56:57Speaker 1: 4-0 Nats. Third inning. One out, one on.
- 2:57:05Speaker 11: The pitch down and in block by Bailey. And the
- 2:57:08Speaker 11: ball scoots up the first baseline on the grass. But
- 2:57:13Speaker 11: Abrams didn't see it, so he stayed put at first.
- 2:57:18Speaker 11: Washington got a two-run single from Cabert Ruiz in the
- 2:57:24Speaker 11: second inning. Followed by a two-run home run to right
- 2:57:27Speaker 11: by James Wood. 4-0 Nats.
- 2:57:31Speaker 1: The pitch..
- 2:57:32Speaker 11: And it's fouled back one and one. It's only been
- 2:57:36Speaker 11: two nights, but we're just not seeing these Nationals swing
- 2:57:39Speaker 11: and miss.
- 2:57:40Speaker 1: They're not putting a ball in play. They're hitting something
- 2:57:43Speaker 1: hard foul. The one-one. Just missed outside.
- 2:57:52Speaker 11: Maybe low. Two and one. Cody Hoyer. He fires. And
- 2:58:06Speaker 11: the pitch tapped foul. Right side to even the count.
- 2:58:10Speaker 11: Hoyer's throwing in the mid-90s. Fastball, slider, changeup. Left-handed hitting Lyle.
- 2:58:26Speaker 11: The pitch to him. And it's down low. Changeup miss.
- 2:58:32Speaker 11: Full count. The next offering is swung on. Lifted high
- 2:58:48Speaker 11: in the air to deep right. Martinez back on the track.
- 2:58:52Speaker 1: In the corner.
- 2:58:52Speaker 11: He's got room to make the catch. And he'll fire
- 2:58:56Speaker 11: it in before Abrams can tag and go to second.
- 2:58:59Speaker 11: Lyle gave it a ride deep into the right field
- 2:59:02Speaker 11: corner for out number two. Now Jacob Young, 4-0 Washington,
- 2:59:09Speaker 11: runner at first, two down, third inning. Young singled in
- 2:59:12Speaker 11: the four-run second. The pitch to him is wide, ball one.
- 2:59:30Speaker 11: Cody Hoyer pitched collegiately at Wichita State University. The pitch,
- 2:59:43Speaker 11: way outside ball two, 2-0. He's pitched in the big leagues,
- 2:59:47Speaker 11: White Sox, Cubs, Texas, Detroit, now Cleveland. But he also
- 2:59:56Speaker 11: missed a lot of time recovering from elbow surgeries. Pitch
- 3:00:02Speaker 11: is in there. He did not pitch in the major
- 3:00:05Speaker 11: leagues for four years. From 2021 through part of 2025,
- 3:00:12Speaker 11: he had had two different elbow surgeries, including Tommy John.
- 3:00:16Speaker 11: The pitch, swung on, grounded sharply up the middle, flagged
- 3:00:19Speaker 11: down by Rocchio, spinning throw to first in the dirt,
- 3:00:22Speaker 11: dug out by Manzardo.
- 3:00:24Speaker 1: Well done.
- 3:00:26Speaker 11: What range up the middle by Brian Rocchio to his left.
- 3:00:29Speaker 11: Doing that 360 spin and throw. And he gets Jacob
- 3:00:36Speaker 11: Young to end the inning. And it stays 4-0 Washington.
- 3:00:40Speaker 11: Way ahead to the bottom of the third.
- 3:00:42Speaker 32: Our yoga instructor challenged us to find inner peace. I

- 3:02:38Speaker 11: Switch hitting catcher Patrick Bailey leads off the third. 4-0 Washington.
- 3:02:43Speaker 11: Cuts and misses. Cade Cavalli. Bailey, a 143 hitter. Couple
- 3:02:53Speaker 11: of home runs. Eight RBIs. Catching back-to-back games.
- 3:03:00Speaker 1: The pitch. In the dirt. Evens the count. One ball,
- 3:03:04Speaker 1: one strike.
- 3:03:08Speaker 23: The Guardians would love to have some long at-bats here
- 3:03:10Speaker 23: and work the counts on Cavalli, but he's only walked
- 3:03:14Speaker 23: seven in his last seven starts, so he's been coming
- 3:03:17Speaker 23: on as the season has moved along.
- 3:03:19Speaker 11: Now the wind-up and the 1-1 pitch. Outside, ball two, 2-1.
- 3:03:40Speaker 11: The next delivery is waved at. Two balls, two strikes.
- 3:03:50Speaker 11: This is the Hyundai Grand Slam giveaway ending. Tonight's contestant,
- 3:03:55Speaker 11: James Dalla Costa of Cleveland.
- 3:03:59Speaker 1: Now the pitch.
- 3:04:00Speaker 11: And strike three called on the outside corner. Third strikeout
- 3:04:04Speaker 11: for Cavalli. Bailey out looking. Brian Rocchio. hitting. 381 over
- 3:04:11Speaker 11: the last 14 games. Guardians get a grand slam here

- 3:04:31Speaker 11: right field. Base hit Brian Rocchio. So Cleveland with its
- 3:04:37Speaker 11: second hit. Down 4-0 here in the third. Top of
- 3:04:40Speaker 11: the order. Let's see how Cleveland's approach changes. If it does,
- 3:04:46Speaker 11: or if they have any more success. Second time through
- 3:04:51Speaker 11: the lineup. Travis Bozzana grounded out his first time up.
- 3:05:03Speaker 11: Left-handed hitter. Hits out of a crouch. Bat wig-wagging above
- 3:05:06Speaker 11: his helmet. And he takes off speed outside.
- 3:05:10Speaker 1: Ball one.
- 3:05:17Speaker 11: Well, Cade Cavalli, who has a. 336 batting average against
- 3:05:22Speaker 11: him by left-handed hitters. No real big issues so far.
- 3:05:28Speaker 1: He delivers.
- 3:05:29Speaker 11: And it's off speed, and it's in there called strength.
- 3:05:32Speaker 11: One and one to count. He is an Oklahoma kid
- 3:05:46Speaker 11: through and through. The 1-1 before it's made a throw
- 3:05:50Speaker 11: to first. Amazing how many kids that grow up in
- 3:05:54Speaker 11: the state of Oklahoma stay home.
- 3:05:57Speaker 1: Either go to Norman or Stillwater.
- 3:06:00Speaker 11: Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, two outstanding college baseball programs. Now
- 3:06:06Speaker 11: the 1-1. Bounced it in there. Nice block by Ruiz
- 3:06:11Speaker 11: keeping the ball in front of him. No advance by
- 3:06:14Speaker 11: Rocchio and a 2-1 count on Bozzano. Not much of
- 3:06:33Speaker 11: a lead for Rocchio. Cavalli's ready. Hands just above the belt.
- 3:06:37Speaker 11: The pitch missed inside. Threw him the slider and almost
- 3:06:41Speaker 11: hit him. 3-1 the count on Bozzana. Cavalli hasn't had
- 3:06:46Speaker 11: to work much. 26 pitches total in the first two innings.
- 3:06:54Speaker 11: Now the 3-1.
- 3:06:58Speaker 1: Ball four. He missed outside.
- 3:07:00Speaker 11: So for the first time tonight, Cleveland's got two men
- 3:07:03Speaker 11: aboard in the same inning. Bozana heads to first. Rocio
- 3:07:09Speaker 11: advances to second. Jose Ramirez could get Cleveland back into
- 3:07:14Speaker 11: this game with the one swing of the bat.
- 3:07:16Speaker 1: Jose. Doubled.
- 3:07:20Speaker 11: His first time up on a ball that should have
- 3:07:22Speaker 11: been caught in shallow left by somebody. Up to the
- 3:07:26Speaker 11: mound to visit is Cabert Ruiz. Ramirez has swung the
- 3:07:41Speaker 11: bat better. We just still haven't seen him carry the
- 3:07:46Speaker 11: club like you know he will.
- 3:07:49Speaker 1: The pitch to him. And it's in there, a called
- 3:07:53Speaker 1: strike on a curve.
- 3:07:57Speaker 11: And quite frankly, until somebody behind him gets hot, they're
- 3:08:04Speaker 11: really going to be almost near perfect when facing Ramirez
- 3:08:09Speaker 11: as far as their pitch selection. The pitch, it's a
- 3:08:12Speaker 11: weak bouncer to short. Abrams will go to first. He'll
- 3:08:15Speaker 11: get Ramirez.
- 3:08:16Speaker 1: Ramirez. Rocchio to third. Lozano to second. Two down.
- 3:08:23Speaker 11: So here's Chase DeLauder. Grounded out his only timeout. They
- 3:08:29Speaker 11: said here could put Cleveland on the board. Cut the
- 3:08:32Speaker 11: deficit in half. 4-0 Nationals. Second and third occupied. Two down,
- 3:08:37Speaker 11: third inning. DeLauder three hits in his last 28 at-bats.
- 3:08:45Speaker 1: The set.
- 3:08:47Speaker 11: And the pitch. In the dirt. What a stop by
- 3:08:50Speaker 11: Ruiz going to his right. And that got a part
- 3:08:53Speaker 11: of his body that has got him in severe agony.
- 3:09:00Speaker 11: What a save by Ruiz. And a 1-0 count on
- 3:09:07Speaker 11: De Lauder.
- 3:09:11Speaker 1: These catchers take such a beating behind the plate to.
- 3:09:15Speaker 11: Save their pitchers. Wild pitches and runs from scoring. De
- 3:09:28Speaker 11: Lauder trying to get this offense kick-started with one swing
- 3:09:33Speaker 11: of the bat. Here it comes. And he hits a
- 3:09:37Speaker 11: weak chopper to second. Chin high hop handled by Nunez.
- 3:09:40Speaker 11: He'll throw him out. Will go to the fourth. It's
- 3:09:44Speaker 11: a 4-0 ballgame. Washington leads Cleveland on the Cleveland Clinic
- 3:09:48Speaker 11: Radio Network.
