- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magic. Magic. Magic.
- 0:04Speaker 2: 94.9. Thanks for hanging. Having another episode of Scotty and
- 0:06Speaker 2: Abby unfiltered. And I always appreciate when I go through
- 0:09Speaker 2: the episodes and I'm starting to see your comments just
- 0:10Speaker 2: pile on. And one of the things that we mentioned
- 0:13Speaker 2: a few episodes ago was because of Miranda, like the
- 0:16Speaker 2: alcohol we can no longer drink. Yeah. The one that
- 0:18Speaker 2: hurts the most. And we put it in the comments
- 0:20Speaker 2: of like, what are some of the ones that you
- 0:22Speaker 2: all can't drink anymore? And the memories that got brought
- 0:25Speaker 2: up for me just reading some of the comments are
- 0:28Speaker 2: What was the first drink that you ever tried, Abby?
- 0:32Speaker 3: I think it was like a white wine from Publix,
- 0:36Speaker 3: like a cupcake wine.
- 0:38Speaker 2: That sounds like a much more responsible thing than I
- 0:40Speaker 2: did as a teenager. Some of these comments I see,
- 0:43Speaker 2: what is this? Crushinggirl101 says, Four Locos.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Those were banned by the time I went to college.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I mean, I think they were still around, but they
- 0:54Speaker 3: didn't have the caffeine in them.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. I mean, these things, it's like death
- 0:58Speaker 2: in a can. The truth is, like, as a teenager,
- 1:00Speaker 2: we would have those. We had somebody, like, that would
- 1:02Speaker 2: get them for us. And so one of the first
- 1:04Speaker 2: things I remember ingesting was a Four Loco at, like,
- 1:07Speaker 2: 14 years old.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Absolutely horrible.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I was still drinking juice boxes.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I wish I was too, but I was a dumb
- 1:14Speaker 2: kid that thought, I literally thought everybody else was doing it.
- 1:16Speaker 2: So I was like, okay, we'll do it too. And
- 1:18Speaker 2: I remember like taking one down and probably the most
- 1:22Speaker 2: messed up I've ever been. Was from a four loco.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I know that's what there's a reason why they're discontinued now.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It's crazy that those things were even on the shelves
- 1:30Speaker 2: for as long as they were. And I just I
- 1:32Speaker 2: couldn't imagine being in college, having those accessible, especially like
- 1:36Speaker 2: you're like, oh, I'm in college. I could turn up.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Let me take what was the game that they used
- 1:40Speaker 2: to play back in college, like Edward Scissorhands, where you
- 1:42Speaker 2: like tape the drinks to your hands and you have
- 1:45Speaker 2: to finish both. This is something the guys did in
- 1:47Speaker 2: the fraternity. Yeah. But having two, four locals, you got
- 1:50Speaker 2: to drink in a party. I'd be in a coma,
- 1:53Speaker 2: like just completely taken out.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:55Speaker 1: It's terrifying.
- 1:56Speaker 2: A lot of the other comments were popping in. Bacardi
- 1:58Speaker 2: is absolutely disgusting to me, Angie says. And also, oh,
- 2:02Speaker 2: my God. Did you ever do the icing, like getting iced? Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 2:06Speaker 3: I've only done it once because I just thought they
- 2:09Speaker 3: were kind of gross, if I'm honest with you.
- 2:10Speaker 1: They're like that weird lemon carbonation.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I did.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I think I did an ice on my 21st sign night,
- 2:17Speaker 3: but I don't even think I finished it.
- 2:18Speaker 2: It's so painful. Yeah.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I liked the idea of it.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I was like, I wish somebody would ice me with
- 2:22Speaker 3: something enjoyable, like ice me with a glass of wine
- 2:25Speaker 3: and I'll drink it all day.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But like a Smirnoff ice?
- 2:28Speaker 3: No.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Why is it always the most painful things? It's like,
- 2:31Speaker 2: I don't know. Is it a rite of passage? Like, oh,
- 2:33Speaker 2: you could handle the pain? Yeah.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I mean, I think it's just like a trend. Like,
- 2:36Speaker 3: I think people just started doing them and all of
- 2:37Speaker 3: a sudden it just took off.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:39Speaker 1: It becomes the cool thing to do.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You know, I guess that brand needed it. Like that's
- 2:42Speaker 2: the one thing that keeps the brand going is people
- 2:44Speaker 2: icing each other. Yeah. As a funny thing to do.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And no one else is buying them otherwise.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Who's just casually having one on a Tuesday?
- 2:51Speaker 1: If you are, go seek help. And I mean that fervently.
- 2:54Speaker 2: What are the other ones? I remember like the is
- 2:56Speaker 2: it Seagram's Seagram's the little like the escapes. Yeah. Like
- 3:00Speaker 2: those little tiny multicolored bottles. They're like, I don't know,
- 3:03Speaker 2: like two percent alcohol. But there's just like sugar and alcohol.
- 3:06Speaker 2: That's all they are. And I always wonder, like, who
- 3:08Speaker 2: are the people that are buying these? Unless it's for
- 3:10Speaker 2: a college party or you're putting them in a punch.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But they're always at the grocery store. I don't know
- 3:14Speaker 2: if they sell them anymore. But I remember growing up
- 3:16Speaker 2: seeing them all the time as a kid.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I never had one.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well, don't. I think they're absolutely disgusting. Yeah. So
- 3:22Speaker 2: one of the things we talked about, but I think
- 3:23Speaker 2: it's pretty cool to mention for the podcast, fam, is the...
- 3:26Speaker 2: Sydney Sweeney situation that you're in right now. Oh, yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 3: I've been doing these sketches with my friend CJ who
- 3:32Speaker 3: does filmography. We've just been you probably you I'm assuming
- 3:35Speaker 3: you've seen them online because they have a million views
- 3:38Speaker 3: right now. But Sydney Sweeney liked one of them. And
- 3:40Speaker 3: we're like, can we just keep beating this dead horse
- 3:43Speaker 3: until she comes on one of our our sketches?
- 3:45Speaker 2: That's so crazy to have her as big as she is.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I can't. It's just kind of weird for me to
- 3:50Speaker 2: imagine a celebrity just sitting there. And just scrolling Instagram
- 3:54Speaker 2: like the rest of us.
- 3:55Speaker 1: What else is she doing? She's just bopping around, sitting
- 3:57Speaker 1: with Scooter Braun, exploring the world. She's on Instagram too.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I would feel like... Let me change the way I'm
- 4:04Speaker 2: going to say this. I almost want... I want to
- 4:06Speaker 2: get to a place of success where somebody else could
- 4:09Speaker 2: scroll my Instagram for me. And post for me. Because
- 4:12Speaker 2: it just takes so much of our time. And I
- 4:14Speaker 2: feel like with how busy somebody like her is, I
- 4:16Speaker 2: don't even imagine... I thought that she would have a
- 4:19Speaker 2: team running her social media instead of her.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I mean, it totally could be a team.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know if she physically double tapped it,
- 4:24Speaker 3: but her account double tapped it.
- 4:26Speaker 2: That's so dope. It's just cool to see. It seems
- 4:28Speaker 2: like the post that you're doing, it has over a
- 4:30Speaker 2: million views already.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we've done two. And so we shot one yesterday.
- 4:33Speaker 1: So by the time you listen to this podcast, the
- 4:34Speaker 1: third one will be live. And that one's. funny but
- 4:37Speaker 1: i think that's the last one we're doing oh okay yeah.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Is it something you're gonna do other celebrities or just
- 4:41Speaker 2: sydney sweeney stuff i don't know it's.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Kind of up to cj cj's the mastermind behind it
- 4:45Speaker 3: he comes up with the script and i just stand
- 4:47Speaker 3: there and feed him lines and roll and roll i'm
- 4:51Speaker 3: like meet me down at davis islands we'll record and
- 4:54Speaker 3: then you know it'll go viral maybe.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Just so busy what's happening with bays on bayshore what's
- 4:58Speaker 2: the any updates on there bringing it i haven't seen
- 5:01Speaker 2: any videos I.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Posted like two days ago.
- 5:03Speaker 2: For Bays on Bayshore? Yeah. Okay, cool. Because people were
- 5:05Speaker 2: asking about it. That's what I was saying. I was like,
- 5:07Speaker 2: people were talking about getting on. And everyone say with
- 5:10Speaker 2: Bays on Bayshore if they would be brave enough to
- 5:12Speaker 2: get on. Oh, yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I don't understand why people feel like they need to
- 5:16Speaker 1: be brave.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I don't know. I guess it's like because we're so
- 5:20Speaker 2: open with what we do.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:22Speaker 2: For other people, it's like, oh, my God. They realize
- 5:24Speaker 2: how much reach your pages have.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah, but it gets reach, but it doesn't get like
- 5:28Speaker 1: that much reach. You know what I mean?
- 5:29Speaker 3: Like, it's not like it's going to go crazy viral
- 5:31Speaker 3: unless you say something unhinged and weird, then yeah, for sure.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You're going to go viral.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Like last night when we were at Ferg's, I was
- 5:38Speaker 3: shooting for, I was doing content, like doing the interviews
- 5:41Speaker 3: and stuff. And It's so funny to see people clam
- 5:44Speaker 3: up and I'm like, you guys are just like not
- 5:46Speaker 3: that serious. Like just give me a hot take about Tampa.
- 5:49Speaker 3: You're going to be on for 10 seconds and people
- 5:50Speaker 3: are going to scroll past it.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah. It is just interesting. Yeah. Like you get somebody
- 5:55Speaker 2: before and after, like let's say just like an interview
- 5:58Speaker 2: or a video moment, they'll be the chattiest person. They'll
- 6:01Speaker 2: have great comebacks. They'll have great lines. And all of
- 6:04Speaker 2: a sudden you put a mic and it's like nothing.
- 6:06Speaker 3: I know. Or it's also funny like seeing guys try
- 6:08Speaker 3: to be funny. Like I can't remember what question this
- 6:11Speaker 3: guy picked out because I'll give them a list and
- 6:13Speaker 3: I'll let them ask questions. And I'm basically talking about
- 6:15Speaker 3: the thing I was doing at the bar for the
- 6:17Speaker 3: Rays game where I was going around asking people about
- 6:19Speaker 3: Tampa and the Milwaukee Brewers. And I'll give them a
- 6:22Speaker 3: list because I want them to feel comfortable and confident
- 6:24Speaker 3: what they're going to respond.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It's like you get one question, knock it out of
- 6:27Speaker 1: the park. Everybody wins.
- 6:28Speaker 3: And this guy chose one of the questions. And I was,
- 6:32Speaker 3: I think it was something like, what do you think
- 6:34Speaker 3: is the most overrated part of Tampa or something?
- 6:37Speaker 1: And he was like, bitches. And I was staying there.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I was like, this is such guy humor. It's like
- 6:42Speaker 3: not funny at all. Just come up with something funny
- 6:46Speaker 3: or like, just tell me like your least favorite place
- 6:47Speaker 3: to go out in Tampa.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Like, give me a joke about that. Like, it's not
- 6:50Speaker 1: that hard.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It's not that serious.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Not that serious.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Like just, just say, Oh, I hate going to McDenton's
- 6:55Speaker 3: cause it's a bunch of 19 year olds or something.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I don't know. Like, Just interesting seeing people's humor come out.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, okay, we'll be out there. By the time
- 7:03Speaker 2: this podcast... Oh, this is going to be weird. By
- 7:05Speaker 2: the time this podcast is out, we don't know what
- 7:07Speaker 2: the fate of the Rays will be, but we'll be
- 7:08Speaker 2: out there with the Rays tonight. Yeah. To try to
- 7:11Speaker 2: see if we can get in. We're going to have Alexia,
- 7:13Speaker 2: and we'll have her in soon, possibly tomorrow, to talk
- 7:16Speaker 2: about her World Series experience, because she actually got to
- 7:18Speaker 2: go to the game. And I've always wondered what that
- 7:22Speaker 2: championship level would be like. I've never been to a
- 7:24Speaker 2: Super Bowl, a World Series... the NHL Stanley Cup. Yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 2: And I could only imagine that they just have to
- 7:30Speaker 2: do things differently. It's not going to be a regular
- 7:32Speaker 2: season kind of game.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, I always feel like playoffs are more intense
- 7:36Speaker 3: and it makes me wish I'm like, damn, I wish
- 7:38Speaker 3: the rest of the season could be like this. Like,
- 7:40Speaker 3: why are we not going hard for every single game?
- 7:42Speaker 3: Because I'll go to like a regular season match for
- 7:44Speaker 3: like the Bucs or the Jags or whatever. And it's
- 7:47Speaker 3: sort of like, OK, things are happening. But I remember
- 7:50Speaker 3: I went to a Jags game right before I moved
- 7:52Speaker 3: to Atlanta and they were playing the Chiefs. And I
- 7:54Speaker 3: remember being so locked in because it was so back
- 7:57Speaker 3: and forth, back and forth.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Like you just didn't.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Know who was going to come out on top, which
- 8:00Speaker 3: was weird because I think the Chiefs, won the super
- 8:03Speaker 3: bowl that season or maybe they went to the super
- 8:05Speaker 3: bowl i think it was the year they played the
- 8:06Speaker 3: eagles and um i remember just thinking oh this is
- 8:10Speaker 3: why people enjoy watching sports because it's so engaging but
- 8:14Speaker 3: then like the you watch the average game and it's
- 8:16Speaker 3: like oh nothing's happening.
- 8:17Speaker 2: It's because there's so many of it that's why it's
- 8:19Speaker 2: so weird for all the sports like baseball has a
- 8:21Speaker 2: ton of games hockey has a ton of games and
- 8:24Speaker 2: then football has you know 16 17 games that it's
- 8:27Speaker 2: They could, I'd say for the other teams, like that's
- 8:30Speaker 2: a lot. To keep it that level of intensity every
- 8:32Speaker 2: single game, that's a lot.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Mike, that's your job.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I get it. But like football should. Football doesn't have
- 8:38Speaker 2: that many games where it's like you should be bringing
- 8:40Speaker 2: out all the bells and whistles every single time people
- 8:43Speaker 2: are entering that stadium. I know.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I'm like, it's once a week, y'all.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Like have something for us.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Baseball, they should be going balls. You're not getting tackled.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You're not getting hit. You're just running.
- 8:51Speaker 2: It should be as an entertaining factor as it could be.
- 8:54Speaker 3: They're just shooting up in the back, chewing bubble gum.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Hitting balls, catching balls, standing in the outfield.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Have you ever seen, I'm trying to think of, because
- 9:04Speaker 2: everyone raves about how hockey players stretch, but I've seen
- 9:07Speaker 2: now a lot of algorithms of baseball players stretching.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 2: That's a whole acrobatic in itself.
- 9:14Speaker 1: What are they doing?
- 9:15Speaker 2: The ways they can move their body or move their legs,
- 9:18Speaker 2: it's like pretty much they're doing full splits on the ground.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And people in the audience are just drooling over it. Because,
- 9:23Speaker 2: I mean, they are athletes at the end of the day.
- 9:25Speaker 2: They're sprinting and running like crazy.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I would hope so.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I will be. Like, back in the day,
- 9:30Speaker 2: I used to, like, poo-poo on baseball players. Because I'm like,
- 9:32Speaker 2: half the time, y'all are just standing there. And you're
- 9:34Speaker 2: just waiting.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Waiting, waiting.
- 9:36Speaker 2: But when it's time to go, it's time to go.
- 9:38Speaker 2: But seeing the way these guys move their body, you're like, oh,
- 9:40Speaker 2: my God. Like, you're still, of course, an elite athlete
- 9:44Speaker 2: at the end of the day. Like, your body does
- 9:46Speaker 2: things that my body could never do. Yeah. Which I
- 9:48Speaker 2: tip my hat to you. So, we'll see. If tomorrow
- 9:51Speaker 2: we're still talking about the Rays, well, then we're still
- 9:53Speaker 2: in it. And we won a game, finally.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like tonight's the final night.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You think it?
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, we lost 10.
- 10:00Speaker 3: To 1 last night, and I know it was a
- 10:02Speaker 3: lot more competitive this weekend, but I just don't understand
- 10:05Speaker 3: how you lose that badly.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I know. I don't know. I guess I could look
- 10:09Speaker 2: it up now, but like any other teams that have
- 10:10Speaker 2: been swept in the World Series, because it's almost, I
- 10:13Speaker 2: was trying to think through this, like what's more of
- 10:15Speaker 2: a heartbreak? If you just get swept right now, Or
- 10:18Speaker 2: let's say we do the opposite and we start to
- 10:20Speaker 2: come back and we tie it up and, you know,
- 10:22Speaker 2: let's say we win three games and then we lose
- 10:23Speaker 2: the last one. What's more of a heartbreak? The fact
- 10:26Speaker 2: that we got lifted back up or the fact that
- 10:27Speaker 2: we get swept?
- 10:28Speaker 3: The only person that's going to be heartbroken is me
- 10:30Speaker 3: because we don't get paid if they don't keep playing.
- 10:31Speaker 2: That's true.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I was like, damn, what can I.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I'm going to go to the dermatologist. I'm going to
- 10:35Speaker 3: get microneedling. Maybe I'll treat myself to a PRF treatment.
- 10:38Speaker 3: A couple extra hundred.
- 10:40Speaker 1: But if we... If we're out tonight, then I'm out
- 10:43Speaker 1: of luck.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Then that's it. Well, we'll see. Well, hopefully we can
- 10:46Speaker 2: keep it going. There could be a miracle. This could
- 10:49Speaker 2: be the year that history... actually happens.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I know i mean i enjoy anything that's gonna seem
- 10:54Speaker 3: intense or like very engaging and so if the rays
- 10:56Speaker 3: do come back tonight i'll be kind of pissed because
- 10:58Speaker 3: i will just kind of feel like we're just dragging
- 11:00Speaker 3: it out because i'm like oh god the brewers win
- 11:01Speaker 3: one more time we're done yeah but i mean if
- 11:04Speaker 3: they make it competitive like i'm interested in that i
- 11:06Speaker 3: want the rays to win i feel like this is
- 11:08Speaker 3: their big comeback story with the roof of the trop
- 11:10Speaker 3: getting blown off and all that blah blah blah blah
- 11:13Speaker 3: um so i hope that this is their year but
- 11:15Speaker 3: i'm I have.
- 11:17Speaker 1: A lot of hope.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Well, we'll see. The game, I mean, by the time
- 11:20Speaker 2: this comes out, we'll already have the truth. So, fingers crossed,
- 11:23Speaker 2: we'll see what we're doing with that.
- 11:24Speaker 1: What's new with you and your lady?
- 11:26Speaker 2: Well, we were just talking yesterday as we're getting ready
- 11:29Speaker 2: to go into the new year. I think the new
- 11:31Speaker 2: year is going to be the mark where we actually
- 11:33Speaker 2: move in and start making that more of a permanent thing.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Huge.
- 11:37Speaker 2: It's a massive moment.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So you had that conversation yesterday?
- 11:40Speaker 2: We've started dabbling in the conversation of what it would
- 11:43Speaker 2: look like. And it's been the easiest conversation to have
- 11:47Speaker 2: because what we've been dealing with over the past eight
- 11:50Speaker 2: months is like medium distance.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:52Speaker 2: So, you know, over the weekends, she'll come up to
- 11:55Speaker 2: the Tampa Bay area, sometimes stay in Tampa with a
- 11:57Speaker 2: friend or come sometimes stay with me in St. Pete.
- 11:59Speaker 2: But during the week, for the most part, staying down
- 12:02Speaker 2: in our hometown, which is like an hour and a
- 12:04Speaker 2: half away. Now we've made it work in the most
- 12:07Speaker 2: beautiful ways of how we've adjusted times and schedules, but
- 12:11Speaker 2: we're also at the point too, where it's, You know,
- 12:13Speaker 2: you just want to have those more mundane moments. You know,
- 12:15Speaker 2: not everything needs to be a massive date or you
- 12:18Speaker 2: need to do these grand gestures, but also just being
- 12:20Speaker 2: able to live very mundanely. Like on Sunday when we
- 12:23Speaker 2: got back from Chicago, just got to sit on the couch, relax.
- 12:27Speaker 2: She napped. I watched football. And it was a very
- 12:30Speaker 2: normal as if you're living with a partner situation. Yeah.
- 12:33Speaker 2: So we want to have more of those moments where
- 12:35Speaker 2: it's like, I just feel so much better when I'm
- 12:38Speaker 2: in your space, when we're sharing space together, when we're
- 12:40Speaker 2: able to go and do something simple like, grocery shopping
- 12:43Speaker 2: or going to the gym and we've decided that's like
- 12:47Speaker 2: we're at that time like we're at that time to
- 12:48Speaker 2: make that move happen because we see that progression in
- 12:52Speaker 2: our relationship and let's go ahead and just let's make
- 12:56Speaker 2: it happen a little quicker than I guess other people
- 12:59Speaker 2: would say is you know normal but for us it
- 13:02Speaker 2: feels right on track.
- 13:03Speaker 3: I don't feel like it's I don't feel like that
- 13:06Speaker 3: should be out of the norm. Because I've always felt
- 13:09Speaker 3: like when you do know something's right, something's just right.
- 13:12Speaker 3: As long as you guys are two healthy individuals. And
- 13:14Speaker 3: I'm not getting the vibe that this is like a
- 13:16Speaker 3: codependency thing. I think you guys have just found the
- 13:19Speaker 3: person you want to spend the most time with.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And it just makes.
- 13:21Speaker 3: It would be dumb to just drag it out for
- 13:23Speaker 3: the principle of dragging things out.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Because you guys are in your 30s. And, you know,
- 13:27Speaker 1: what are you going to do? Drag it out?
- 13:28Speaker 2: Because.
- 13:29Speaker 1: society says you need to wait a year or two.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's kind of the thought that you
- 13:33Speaker 2: go through. Like, that was the big reminder for me.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I was like, oh, we are in our 30s, and
- 13:36Speaker 2: I know what I want. And every time that I
- 13:38Speaker 2: see her, I'm my happiest self. Yeah. Like, I've never
- 13:41Speaker 2: felt better in my life than when I'm with her presence.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And so to be able to have that and be
- 13:45Speaker 2: able to set that up. But here's what's very fascinating.
- 13:48Speaker 2: It's like no matter how much, like, she tells me
- 13:50Speaker 2: she loves me and I tell her, like, I love her, like,
- 13:53Speaker 2: even before bringing up the conversation, I still get that
- 13:55Speaker 2: little nervous feeling of, like, that you're being vulnerable here. Hey,
- 13:59Speaker 2: like I'm looking forward to this next chapter. How do
- 14:03Speaker 2: you feel about it? Cause you're kind of just throwing
- 14:05Speaker 2: yourself out in the open and being like, I really hope,
- 14:08Speaker 2: like I know we've been on the same page this
- 14:10Speaker 2: entire time. I really hope that you're on the same
- 14:12Speaker 2: page here or else it's, I don't know. I'm going
- 14:15Speaker 2: to feel like an idiot if I throw out the
- 14:16Speaker 2: idea and to be able to throw it out there
- 14:18Speaker 2: and just be on the same page and being like, yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 2: like I think, I think very soon, be able to
- 14:24Speaker 2: make that move happen.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Do you think she'll move into where you're staying or
- 14:26Speaker 3: do you think you guys will find separate quarters?
- 14:29Speaker 2: So that's kind of where the yesterday's conversation really dove
- 14:31Speaker 2: in because we looked at the situation. We're like, I
- 14:35Speaker 2: have the place that I'm staying now, at least till may.
- 14:38Speaker 2: So what we're thinking is staying at that place for,
- 14:43Speaker 2: you know, the next couple of months till probably may
- 14:46Speaker 2: using that as an opportunity to save as much as
- 14:48Speaker 2: possible to put money toward, you know, and that's where
- 14:51Speaker 2: the next conversation happens is, Do we want an apartment?
- 14:54Speaker 2: Do we want to rent a house? Like, where do
- 14:57Speaker 2: we want to go from there? Because the apartment I'm
- 14:59Speaker 2: in right now, it's beautiful. And it's just small.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:03Speaker 2: So, like, we could do it for a little bit.
- 15:04Speaker 2: But also, you know, I want to make sure that
- 15:06Speaker 2: we're setting ourselves up for success. We have enough space
- 15:09Speaker 2: for a couple months. But that's also going to be
- 15:12Speaker 2: a conversation with my landlords, a.k.a., you know, some of
- 15:14Speaker 2: my closest friends.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Our radio competitors. He's like, yeah, I'm jacking up the price.
- 15:20Speaker 2: It is kind of funny because it's like I do
- 15:21Speaker 2: have to approach them about that because I'm like, you're cool, though,
- 15:25Speaker 2: with like, you know, us living together in this space.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Is that going to change the price? Does that change
- 15:30Speaker 2: the way you look at things or is it just
- 15:32Speaker 2: completely OK? And they love and adore her. So it
- 15:34Speaker 2: shouldn't be a problem. Yeah. But for the next couple
- 15:37Speaker 2: of months, at least till May. It should be in
- 15:39Speaker 2: the apartment that I'm in right now. I'm just going
- 15:41Speaker 2: to make room and move things around to make sure
- 15:43Speaker 2: that she has plenty of stuff, plenty of space for
- 15:45Speaker 2: her stuff. Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 1: So she's going to move in in January.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Looking at it. I mean, it's really right now it's
- 15:50Speaker 2: coming down to just another source of income because she
- 15:53Speaker 2: does a lot of time with the Florida Tonight and
- 15:56Speaker 2: doing a lot of stuff for that show and is
- 15:58Speaker 2: picking up another job to have, you know, two. freelance
- 16:03Speaker 2: jobs to be able to make sure that there's no
- 16:05Speaker 2: problem with rent.
- 16:06Speaker 1: What's the other job she's going to get?
- 16:07Speaker 2: She's looking. It just depends. You know, there's plenty of
- 16:11Speaker 2: content creation jobs out there. There's also, I mean, what
- 16:15Speaker 2: are some of the other ones? Like there's podcast producer
- 16:19Speaker 2: jobs that are out there. So something that also gives
- 16:22Speaker 2: her the flexibility because her job right now is literally
- 16:24Speaker 2: traveling the state of Florida, filming for all these incredible places,
- 16:27Speaker 2: restaurants and farms and breweries. bringing it to life. So
- 16:32Speaker 2: she needs that flexibility to be able to continue that job.
- 16:34Speaker 2: So something else that gives her that flexibility, but also
- 16:36Speaker 2: another source of income, because that's the one thing that
- 16:39Speaker 2: she's like, I want to make sure that I'm helping
- 16:41Speaker 2: and I'm bringing something to the table. Cause truthfully, as
- 16:43Speaker 2: much as I would love to just cover the whole thing,
- 16:45Speaker 2: I can't wait until I cover the whole thing one day.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Let me pay for everything. But I do appreciate that.
- 16:50Speaker 2: She's like, I want to bring something as well. Cause
- 16:53Speaker 2: then that way we could both save a ton and
- 16:56Speaker 2: get something for our next chapter of this relationship.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Okay, well, that's very exciting. How do you feel about
- 17:02Speaker 1: moving in with somebody?
- 17:03Speaker 3: Not quickly, but you had, like, your solo stint, like,
- 17:10Speaker 3: without a roommate. Are you going to miss your solo days,
- 17:13Speaker 3: or how are you feeling?
- 17:14Speaker 2: That's a good question. Because I guess you'll just, like,
- 17:15Speaker 2: never live alone again. Yeah, I mean, this was the
- 17:17Speaker 2: first time I ever did live alone. I'm glad I
- 17:20Speaker 2: had the opportunity because it taught me a lot of
- 17:22Speaker 2: the ways of, like, what do I prioritize? What do
- 17:24Speaker 2: I need? Like, what are the clean spaces I need?
- 17:27Speaker 2: And how minimal am I? But truthfully, like I couldn't
- 17:30Speaker 2: be happier to live together with her, to have that
- 17:33Speaker 2: space because we live so similarly. You know, we like
- 17:36Speaker 2: to have a space that's, you know, of course, everyone's like,
- 17:39Speaker 2: you know, clean in certain areas and OK, messy and others.
- 17:42Speaker 2: You know, we balance each other out on what tasks
- 17:45Speaker 2: we like to do around the house. So I think
- 17:48Speaker 2: it has been the perfect amount of time solo in
- 17:50Speaker 2: a space. I don't need any more time. I'm good.
- 17:53Speaker 2: I mean, pretty much what it looks like when I
- 17:55Speaker 2: get home is like I'm doing tasks and I'm just
- 17:57Speaker 2: singing and screaming the entire time to songs to keep
- 18:00Speaker 2: me on track. I do the same thing when she's around.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And what makes it funnier is she does the same
- 18:05Speaker 2: thing too. And so, like, we are two weirdos in
- 18:08Speaker 2: one space that it finally feels like I have met
- 18:11Speaker 2: my match. Somebody that gets it but is not annoyed
- 18:13Speaker 2: by it. And somebody that does the same thing that
- 18:15Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm cracking up the whole time. And I'm
- 18:17Speaker 2: ready to experience that with her. Like, I can't wait. So,
- 18:21Speaker 2: all this year, been solo, it's been great, and I'm
- 18:24Speaker 2: ready to have You know, us in our own shared
- 18:27Speaker 2: living situation.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Very nice.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Well, I'm excited for both of y'all. And I know
- 18:30Speaker 3: she'll be very excited to get out of Arcadia.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I know. I know. It's a balance because, you know,
- 18:36Speaker 2: it's going to be nice to move up here. And
- 18:37Speaker 2: also just to be around your friends. I was thinking
- 18:39Speaker 2: about this. I was like, yeah, I can't wait for
- 18:42Speaker 2: us to be able to live together. And I'm so
- 18:44Speaker 2: excited for you to be able to see your friends more.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Because that's something, like, we just crave as humans. And
- 18:49Speaker 2: we deserve those things to be able to say, oh,
- 18:51Speaker 2: it's a Tuesday night. I'm going to go get drinks.
- 18:55Speaker 2: in Tampa with one of my best friends, hell yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Like that's what it should be is you're in this
- 19:00Speaker 2: area and it makes it a lot easier to get around.
- 19:02Speaker 2: So that's probably in the next couple months, I would
- 19:06Speaker 2: say probably by January.
- 19:08Speaker 1: It's huge.
- 19:09Speaker 2: It's huge. It's massive.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Have you guys talked about engagement?
- 19:12Speaker 2: No, we have not talked about engagement. We haven't had
- 19:15Speaker 2: that conversation, which is actually a fascinating thing because I
- 19:17Speaker 2: have thought about it a lot as in I've heard
- 19:21Speaker 2: couples say they talk about engagement before engagement, but I
- 19:24Speaker 2: just don't know how that conversation like what does that
- 19:26Speaker 2: look like? Hey, OK, because you want to.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Spend the rest of your life with me.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Oh, well, I know. But that kind of sounds like
- 19:32Speaker 2: the proposal. Isn't that the proposal question?
- 19:34Speaker 3: No, I feel like the proposal is more of like
- 19:37Speaker 3: it's it's like a ritual or ceremony. Like when you
- 19:39Speaker 3: get married, like, yeah, that's when you're technically married. But
- 19:43Speaker 3: I think long before that is when you decide, oh,
- 19:44Speaker 3: we're just going to spend the rest of our lives
- 19:46Speaker 3: with each other. And maybe that happens gradually. I don't
- 19:48Speaker 3: really know how you bring that up. up i'm i've
- 19:51Speaker 3: never been asked before so i can't i can't i
- 19:54Speaker 3: just always kind of felt like it was one of
- 19:55Speaker 3: those things that just sort of happened like oh yeah
- 19:57Speaker 3: of course we're going to.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Yeah well that's kind of what i feel i'm like
- 20:00Speaker 2: you know yeah, I think a conversation will be had,
- 20:03Speaker 2: you know.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Of course, because those are massive, massive decisions.
- 20:07Speaker 2: And the only thing that I always thought was, I
- 20:09Speaker 2: was like, well, I don't want to like ruin a
- 20:11Speaker 2: proposal idea. Like you got to phrase the question properly
- 20:13Speaker 2: on how you bring up the topic. So it doesn't
- 20:15Speaker 2: sound like I'm actually proposing in that moment. Yeah. But
- 20:17Speaker 2: also again, at the end, like we're eight months in,
- 20:20Speaker 2: it has been absolutely beautiful and looking forward to every
- 20:22Speaker 2: chapter that moves ahead.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I've always just said great PR answer.
- 20:26Speaker 3: I've always just said that like, I feel, and this
- 20:29Speaker 3: isn't me saying, pushing my very strict upbringing but i
- 20:34Speaker 3: do think when you move in with someone and you
- 20:36Speaker 3: start combining finances is that it.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Is a little bit like a marriage a hundred percent to.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Where i do think it's smart just to have the
- 20:43Speaker 3: conversation on the table and i know you guys are
- 20:45Speaker 3: like you guys are two consenting adults but like it
- 20:48Speaker 3: is i mean if you guys ever did break up
- 20:50Speaker 3: i'm not saying you guys are going to break up
- 20:52Speaker 3: it is very much like a marriage already yeah i.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Mean here's the thing like we've both come from past
- 20:57Speaker 2: where we've lived with previous partners yeah that helps a
- 20:59Speaker 2: ton Because we're able to have these conversations just like
- 21:02Speaker 2: so much more mature on what we want, what are
- 21:06Speaker 2: our fears, what are the things that we need from
- 21:08Speaker 2: each other in order to make sure that we're doing
- 21:10Speaker 2: the best for each other. And that's been so easy,
- 21:13Speaker 2: like to be able to bring up, all right, yeah, like,
- 21:15Speaker 2: oh my God, I cannot wait to live with you.
- 21:17Speaker 2: And the biggest thing for me, and I've told her this,
- 21:19Speaker 2: and I can be vocal on the podcast, my biggest
- 21:21Speaker 2: thing is I have to be careful on how fast
- 21:23Speaker 2: I go because I'm Girl, I'm ready. Like, let's go.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Pedal to the metal. Moving ahead. I love this. I know.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I got my eyes set. I got my heart set
- 21:31Speaker 2: even more. But I also realized, like, I'm not trying
- 21:34Speaker 2: to rush anybody. I'm not trying to pressure anybody. Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 2: I'm trying to take things in chapters. But it is true,
- 21:39Speaker 2: like what you said. If you're going to make this
- 21:40Speaker 2: big financial move, you got to be on the same page.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And I don't have to tell you that. I mean,
- 21:45Speaker 1: you literally just went through it a year ago.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Where it's, you know, jump in. But
- 21:49Speaker 2: that's also the difference is, like, some people will buy
- 21:52Speaker 2: a house together and And it's like you're both of
- 21:55Speaker 2: your names are on the. I know.
- 21:58Speaker 3: And then you have no legal protections if you guys
- 22:01Speaker 3: are just two separate human beings, which like some people
- 22:03Speaker 3: are rich enough to where it's like totally fine.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Well, I had friends that just went through that, you know,
- 22:08Speaker 2: it was so messy because it's not like they were
- 22:11Speaker 2: engaged or married, but they were, you know, they both
- 22:14Speaker 2: bought the house together and somebody did something that wasn't right.
- 22:18Speaker 2: And so they ended up breaking up and it got
- 22:19Speaker 2: so messy because it was like, now you both are
- 22:21Speaker 2: sitting on this house, both paying mortgages, both can't live together.
- 22:24Speaker 2: One's not letting you live in the other house and
- 22:26Speaker 2: you're both waiting to sell it. And in this market,
- 22:28Speaker 2: it's like, it wasn't selling. So it's like, you're both
- 22:30Speaker 2: just bleeding money, but you like, there's no way this
- 22:34Speaker 2: relationship is getting back together. No, no way. But that's so,
- 22:38Speaker 2: I was very grateful. That was one of the, like the, the,
- 22:40Speaker 2: the smartest things I could have done in previous relationship. Like,
- 22:45Speaker 2: don't put my name on the whatever. paperwork for the house. Like,
- 22:49Speaker 2: it's your house, enjoy it. But that was one of
- 22:51Speaker 2: the things I brought up with Brianda is like, you know,
- 22:54Speaker 2: I do want to start looking for a house. And
- 22:56Speaker 2: I brought that up. She's like, well, and she said
- 22:57Speaker 2: what you said. She's like, well, I don't want to
- 22:59Speaker 2: buy a house with somebody unless, you know, I'm married.
- 23:02Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, no, I get that. Yeah,
- 23:03Speaker 2: me too.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 3: And but it does just make things very complicated. But
- 23:08Speaker 3: also moving into like, you know, you merge at which
- 23:10Speaker 3: one is is the couch mine?
- 23:12Speaker 1: Is the couch yours? What do we do?
- 23:14Speaker 3: And I know that like when we get into our 30s,
- 23:16Speaker 3: I feel like these conversations happen earlier than are the true.
- 23:20Speaker 1: The traditional mindset.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Like, oh, you typically you date someone for a year
- 23:23Speaker 3: and then maybe you move together after that. But like
- 23:25Speaker 3: even my friend Taylor and I were talking about that
- 23:27Speaker 3: because the guy that she's dating lives in a completely.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Different part of the country. She's like, it is a
- 23:31Speaker 1: little bit nerve wracking.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Like I sometimes feel like I can't just decide whether
- 23:35Speaker 3: or not I'm just into this relationship.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I'm kind of nervous because he lives so far. It
- 23:40Speaker 1: feels like there's pressure.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Like, do we you know, if I if this does
- 23:44Speaker 3: go well, is this a situation where I have to move?
- 23:47Speaker 3: Does he have to move? And we have to make
- 23:48Speaker 3: all these hard decisions together. kind of maybe quicker than
- 23:50Speaker 3: we thought we were going to have to.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Where it's, especially as we get older, like we
- 23:54Speaker 2: should start looking at these decisions because we, we did
- 23:56Speaker 2: the years where we not, not wasted time. That's not
- 23:59Speaker 2: the phrase, but it's like, we probably looked past things
- 24:02Speaker 2: that now we should probably be able to recognize a
- 24:04Speaker 2: lot faster and make the decision a lot faster. So
- 24:08Speaker 2: January is probably the time where we'll move into my
- 24:11Speaker 2: apartment altogether and make the space. We still have to
- 24:13Speaker 2: have the conversations with You know, the landlord situation, our competitors,
- 24:16Speaker 2: my friends. Yeah. And make that situation happen. But that's
- 24:19Speaker 2: in my head. Now we're looking towards because what we're
- 24:21Speaker 2: about to be in November and then just get through
- 24:23Speaker 2: the holidays and bada bing, bada boom. We're in it.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Then you're in it.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Then we're making it happen, which is it's just wild. Like,
- 24:30Speaker 2: especially if somebody listened to this podcast in the very
- 24:32Speaker 2: beginning and it's like, oh, yeah, here we go. Twenty
- 24:35Speaker 2: twenty six going to be so, so single. Just going
- 24:38Speaker 2: to go on all these singles adventures.
- 24:39Speaker 1: You said single, but then you were like dating seven people.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Well, I was just kind of just, I was trying
- 24:45Speaker 2: to just see what it was like in the dating world. Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 2: And then I go on a date with Brianna and
- 24:49Speaker 2: it just changes everything. I was like, oh, okay. You
- 24:53Speaker 2: know what? Screw the old plan. I like the new
- 24:54Speaker 2: plan more.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Yeah, new plan's more fun.
- 24:56Speaker 2: It's just kind of cool to see, especially a lot
- 24:58Speaker 2: of people have been on here since the beginning. So
- 25:00Speaker 2: big update there with that. The other thing that I
- 25:02Speaker 2: was kind of going through yesterday is I got a
- 25:04Speaker 2: call from a buddy who I'm going to his wedding in, like,
- 25:07Speaker 2: two weeks. And he calls me, and I'm like, oh, God. Like,
- 25:11Speaker 2: we don't talk on the phone much. So I'm like, immediately,
- 25:13Speaker 2: this is panic mode. Is he calling off the wedding?
- 25:15Speaker 2: Is something happening? Is it an emergency? There was an emergency.
- 25:19Speaker 2: But I get him on the phone. He's like, dude,
- 25:21Speaker 2: I need you to be a groomsman. I'm like, bro, like, what?
- 25:25Speaker 2: First off, thank you. What an honor, you know? And
- 25:29Speaker 2: this is a great honor. I'm so happy for you.
- 25:31Speaker 2: He's like, you need to be able to be a
- 25:33Speaker 2: groomsman in the next two weeks and you need to
- 25:36Speaker 2: be able to get a suit by this weekend. You'd
- 25:38Speaker 2: need to be able to be at the wedding at
- 25:39Speaker 2: this time. And I felt so bad because I had
- 25:41Speaker 2: to tell him no. And that's the first time. And I,
- 25:44Speaker 2: I just never thought about that. Like usually it's an
- 25:46Speaker 2: automatic yes. When anybody ever asked you to be a
- 25:48Speaker 2: part of their wedding. Yeah.
- 25:49Speaker 3: It's kind of insulting two weeks beforehand though.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Like you're the backup, you're the B team, you're JV.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:54Speaker 2: And when he did mention that, he's like, dude, I
- 25:56Speaker 2: know I hate to make it sound like you're a backup,
- 25:57Speaker 2: but there was some moving around in the bridal party.
- 26:00Speaker 2: So like somebody on his side needs to go to
- 26:03Speaker 2: his fiance side. And it's just to even out numbers.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:06Speaker 2: And I get that, but I did feel super guilty.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Cause I was like, I have, I have to be
- 26:10Speaker 2: able to, and I'm glad we have that conversation yesterday
- 26:13Speaker 2: on the podcast of like, you gotta be able to
- 26:14Speaker 2: just call things as they are. Just shoot it straight.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Don't have to beat around the bush. And I just
- 26:19Speaker 2: texted him that night. I was like, I gotta be honest. Like,
- 26:21Speaker 2: there's no way I can make it happen. Cause I
- 26:22Speaker 2: just can't get to the wedding in time. I'm going
- 26:24Speaker 2: to get there as soon as the ceremony starts. And
- 26:27Speaker 2: to try to just fit in and be a groomsman
- 26:29Speaker 2: just in a last minute effort, it would be the
- 26:31Speaker 2: dumbest idea.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Is this also the wedding you weren't sure that you
- 26:34Speaker 3: were going to go to up until recently?
- 26:38Speaker 1: Because you didn't get the invitation?
- 26:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so this was one of them. So actually, this
- 26:43Speaker 2: was the situation of a best friend that I grew
- 26:44Speaker 2: up with. Got sent out the save the date back
- 26:48Speaker 2: in January. Save the date, just never got the invitation.
- 26:51Speaker 2: So that was the one I was like, I don't
- 26:53Speaker 2: know if I'm going. I don't know if I'm actually invited.
- 26:57Speaker 2: I was. It's just, I've noticed a lot of couples,
- 27:00Speaker 2: like weddings are so, so many parts and pieces that
- 27:03Speaker 2: things just get missed. So we just kind of forgot
- 27:05Speaker 2: to send the actual email. So I finally filled it out.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I'm going to that one. The other one, I have
- 27:10Speaker 2: another friend getting married in like January. That was one
- 27:15Speaker 2: I did not think I was going to. Really? When
- 27:17Speaker 2: I was on a bachelor party this past January, it
- 27:19Speaker 2: got brought up with a friend group and it was
- 27:22Speaker 2: kind of a joke. Because we were asking him if
- 27:23Speaker 2: we were going to be in his bridal party, his groomsman.
- 27:25Speaker 2: He was like, he got all awkward. He like laughed.
- 27:29Speaker 2: And then my friend got all salty. He was like,
- 27:31Speaker 2: I mean, no, but you guys will be at the wedding.
- 27:35Speaker 2: So that was the only note that I knew. I
- 27:36Speaker 2: was like, well, he said we're going to be at
- 27:37Speaker 2: the wedding, but that was in January. And I don't
- 27:39Speaker 2: get to see this friend a lot. But I did
- 27:42Speaker 2: just get the text like two days ago. That's like, hey, dude,
- 27:45Speaker 2: what's your address? Got to send the invite, even though it's,
- 27:47Speaker 2: you know, three months away. Yeah. So I'm going to
- 27:51Speaker 2: that wedding as well. So all these friendships that I
- 27:53Speaker 2: thought I was like, is this their way of telling
- 27:55Speaker 2: me that our friendship's over?
- 27:57Speaker 3: Well, sometimes, I mean, if you could have really leaped
- 28:00Speaker 3: and jumped and bounded into this guy's life even more seriously,
- 28:03Speaker 3: if you decide to step in for that wedding, like, oh, well, Scott,
- 28:06Speaker 3: Scott stepped in when I needed it.
- 28:08Speaker 2: I wanted to. I was about to try to play
- 28:10Speaker 2: the hero, but I was like this. It would just
- 28:12Speaker 2: be so much stress because what it is is we're
- 28:13Speaker 2: doing that. We're doing an event here at the radio station.
- 28:16Speaker 2: It's like the men's health huddle.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Oh, I forgot about that.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the day of the wedding.
- 28:20Speaker 1: What's the, when is that?
- 28:22Speaker 2: November 14th. And it's going to be huge. Well, I
- 28:25Speaker 2: hope so. But it is for the man, you know.
- 28:27Speaker 1: I don't think I'm down at that event or down
- 28:30Speaker 1: for that event.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Well, here's where, okay, so we get to, like, this
- 28:32Speaker 2: is the podcast conversation. So it's only been spoken conversation
- 28:37Speaker 2: so far for that event. It's only been kind of
- 28:39Speaker 2: mentioned in meetings. But there's no, like, official invite for, like,
- 28:43Speaker 2: you or me, Abby. Like, I haven't got the official
- 28:44Speaker 2: invite either.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Girl, you don't have to tell me about.
- 28:46Speaker 3: With these Ferg's parties they keep inviting me to, like,
- 28:50Speaker 3: yesterday we were standing around and on Friday I had gotten, like,
- 28:55Speaker 3: a 24-hour heads up to be like, hey, can you
- 28:57Speaker 3: go do social media at Ferg's, which Ferg's is the
- 29:00Speaker 3: big sports bar down by the chop where the Rays play.
- 29:03Speaker 3: And I was like, sure, I can do that. You know,
- 29:05Speaker 3: I'll get something together. But, like, I got no information, like,
- 29:08Speaker 3: Didn't know who to meet, what time. I mean, I
- 29:10Speaker 3: knew what time I had to be there.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:11Speaker 3: But like I was looking for a tent because normally
- 29:13Speaker 3: there's a big tent set up where you stand and
- 29:15Speaker 3: you like say hi to listeners and stuff.
- 29:17Speaker 1: There's no tent.
- 29:17Speaker 3: We're supposed to go around and just be like, hey,
- 29:20Speaker 3: to people, which like candidly, I'm just kind of some
- 29:23Speaker 3: random bitch walking around Ferg's. Like it looks a little
- 29:26Speaker 3: weird if you don't have someone on promo with you
- 29:28Speaker 3: with like the T-shirts.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And stuff on. And so I show up.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Well, yesterday I didn't even know I was working Ferg's.
- 29:33Speaker 3: I found out because I brought it up to Jenna,
- 29:35Speaker 3: our boss. And she's like, oh, no, I think you're
- 29:37Speaker 3: working tonight. I'm like, well, there's no email for that.
- 29:40Speaker 3: And then they sent me Corey's information because apparently I
- 29:44Speaker 3: had to go meet Corey. And so I text Corey
- 29:46Speaker 3: and he said, Hey, what are we doing tonight at Ferg's?
- 29:48Speaker 3: And he goes, I have to be honest with you.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I have no idea. Like this is all getting sprung
- 29:51Speaker 3: on me too. And so we show up and I'm like,
- 29:54Speaker 3: you guys, what is my job?
- 29:55Speaker 1: Like, I'm just trying to do.
- 29:56Speaker 3: I'm trying to be decent at my job here, and
- 29:57Speaker 3: I don't really know what we're supposed to be doing.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Well, because you'll go, and you'll do stuff, and then
- 30:01Speaker 3: it won't be good enough, but it's because they don't
- 30:03Speaker 3: give you expectations.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so wild because these things are happening so quick.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 2: And it's like, World Series, party, now, go! And you're like, okay,
- 30:12Speaker 2: love it, awesome, need details, need to know when, and
- 30:14Speaker 2: you need me, and where.
- 30:15Speaker 3: You need me. Yeah, there should be some kind of protocol, like,
- 30:17Speaker 3: here's two promo kids, go, like, make three.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Videos, or whatever.
- 30:21Speaker 2: There you go. Like, it's, you know, just that alone,
- 30:23Speaker 2: but also... That's a part of it. What you just
- 30:25Speaker 2: mentioned is something that I don't think a lot of
- 30:26Speaker 2: people recognize is like walking around just a bar alone
- 30:30Speaker 2: to try to get content. That's so uncomfortable because nobody.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Wants you there. No.
- 30:34Speaker 3: And that's why I was fine when we had the
- 30:36Speaker 3: promo kids because I'm like, that was my go to line.
- 30:38Speaker 1: I was like, can we bribe you with free beer?
- 30:40Speaker 3: Because then you're offering something instead of just taking something
- 30:43Speaker 3: from them, being like, hey, I need you for this video.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:46Speaker 3: It's like, here, I will buy you a beer if
- 30:48Speaker 3: you will just stand here and answer a singular question.
- 30:51Speaker 3: And they always go, that's it? And I'm like, see
- 30:53Speaker 3: how easy it is to help people? See how easy
- 30:56Speaker 3: it is to help me do my job? But yet,
- 30:58Speaker 3: nobody wants you there.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Everyone's like, what is this girl doing? Who does she
- 31:00Speaker 1: think she is?
- 31:01Speaker 3: But it's not that bad when you have... support staff
- 31:04Speaker 3: with you being like, we're here doing stuff.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you could actually say, I'm with the radio station.
- 31:08Speaker 2: I'm not just some random person just getting content.
- 31:12Speaker 3: I got a comment, and this was on one of
- 31:14Speaker 3: my videos, and I think this comment just really poked
- 31:17Speaker 3: at one of my deepest, darkest fears that I'm becoming
- 31:19Speaker 3: one of those Tampa influencer wannabes, which I know makes
- 31:22Speaker 3: me sound like such a hater, like, Listen, I'm judgmental, too.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Some dude and I only get hate comments from men
- 31:27Speaker 3: was like, oh, my God, these Tampa influencers are insufferable
- 31:30Speaker 3: or something.
- 31:30Speaker 1: And I was like, no, I'm not like the other ones.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I'm on the radio. This is my job.
- 31:34Speaker 2: It's so annoying. Like I as much as it's easy
- 31:38Speaker 2: to say, like, don't let comments affect you. Yeah. Like
- 31:40Speaker 2: there are some that like poke like we posted it
- 31:42Speaker 2: like a DM disaster video the other day. And like
- 31:45Speaker 2: it has probably 3000 comments that are telling me that
- 31:48Speaker 2: I'm not good at my job. And I was like.
- 31:49Speaker 1: What do you mean not good at your job?
- 31:51Speaker 2: Like literally telling me that this radio guy needs to
- 31:53Speaker 2: get fired. Let me see. Because of my hot take
- 31:56Speaker 2: on like a very, it felt like a very easy situation.
- 32:00Speaker 1: What video was it?
- 32:01Speaker 2: This was the one of.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Oh, Alexia looks so cute in this photo.
- 32:07Speaker 2: What is the.
- 32:08Speaker 1: He said it wasn't technically cheating. Is it that one?
- 32:11Speaker 2: It was, I think the one before that. My brain.
- 32:13Speaker 2: I'm telling you guys, I have a memory problem. It's something.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Her first paycheck went to what?
- 32:17Speaker 2: Oh, that's the one. And if you just scroll through
- 32:19Speaker 2: the comments, it's probably one in every ten that are like,
- 32:24Speaker 2: get this guy off the radio. This guy sucks.
- 32:26Speaker 3: I don't know who the radio guy is, but by
- 32:28Speaker 3: treating her self-statement shows he brings his own chairs to hotels,
- 32:31Speaker 3: basically calling you a cuck. Radio guy thought he was
- 32:33Speaker 3: going to get the support of the girlies with this.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Meanwhile, they're frying him in the comments. I'm with the guy. Okay,
- 32:39Speaker 1: why would you.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Take your sister on vacation? See, there's also an equal
- 32:42Speaker 3: amount of people siding with you.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I'm with the guy.
- 32:45Speaker 2: No, no, they're saying they're with the guy as the
- 32:47Speaker 2: guy's situation of being upset.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Oh, oh.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Being upset that his girlfriend's going on vacation with her sister.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:52Speaker 1: There's like two comments about you. Oh, they're there. Oh, dude,
- 32:55Speaker 1: the host for treating yourself. She's not treating herself.
- 32:58Speaker 2: It goes on and on.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Trust, I got the notification. Radio host is being a
- 33:01Speaker 1: pick me.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Totally valid to feel slighted that she didn't want to
- 33:05Speaker 3: pay him back, blah, blah, blah.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Radio dude is filled with soy? What does that mean?
- 33:09Speaker 2: I don't know. Trying to say that I'm like, I
- 33:12Speaker 2: don't know. I have more estrogen in me. All I
- 33:16Speaker 2: said in that video is simply, what, you don't want
- 33:19Speaker 2: your girlfriend to treat herself? That's it. And people went
- 33:22Speaker 2: on it, and it's like it's on a whole new
- 33:24Speaker 2: algorithm for people on Instagram.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Is your last name Panda? What does that mean?
- 33:29Speaker 2: That I don't know. That I don't know.
- 33:30Speaker 3: I do find it interesting, and I was thinking about
- 33:32Speaker 3: this today. All the hate comments in here are from men. Yeah,
- 33:35Speaker 3: I know.
- 33:36Speaker 1: But it's funny because.
- 33:38Speaker 3: obviously I posted the Shane Gillis thing not too long
- 33:40Speaker 3: ago and all my hate comments were from men and
- 33:42Speaker 3: then a couple of like pick me women being like,
- 33:45Speaker 3: it is just interesting. Like I really don't receive hate
- 33:48Speaker 3: from women, which is shocking as somebody who, when you
- 33:51Speaker 3: grow up with other women, you're like bullied by other women.
- 33:53Speaker 3: And so it's just so interesting to me that like,
- 33:56Speaker 3: it seems like a majority of the angry people on
- 33:58Speaker 3: the internet are men.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I wonder if it's just, they're more outspoken about the
- 34:04Speaker 2: way they feel in that moment. Like women think through
- 34:06Speaker 2: things a little more and they don't want their, thoughts
- 34:09Speaker 2: or comments to be out in open space like that's
- 34:11Speaker 2: the thing that it was shocking me like truthfully i
- 34:13Speaker 2: actually don't care about those comments like i whatever yeah
- 34:16Speaker 2: you say whatever you want but like some of those
- 34:17Speaker 2: names are big names like you go and i'll click
- 34:19Speaker 2: on them and i'm like bro you have a massive
- 34:22Speaker 2: following you got a podcast i'm like and here you
- 34:24Speaker 2: are leaving a comment like this like trying to trash
- 34:27Speaker 2: me like you're an odd dude.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Well i went on chat gbt naturally Because I don't
- 34:31Speaker 3: see my therapist until next week. But I was like,
- 34:34Speaker 3: because I was trying to figure out, like, is there
- 34:36Speaker 3: something in my content? And I guess it's kind of
- 34:39Speaker 3: comforting seeing that you're getting a lot of male negative attention.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Is there something about my comment that is specifically triggering
- 34:47Speaker 3: to men? And so I was like, I'm noticing a pattern.
- 34:50Speaker 3: I don't see a lot of hate comments from women.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Not that I want more hate comments from women. But
- 34:54Speaker 3: why does it seem like it's majority men leaving these comments?
- 34:58Speaker 3: And I got some really interesting responses that I'm sure
- 35:01Speaker 3: it dug up from Google somewhere.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I mean, I'm very interested because this all goes down,
- 35:05Speaker 2: I'm assuming, to some male psychology. Because men, again, a
- 35:10Speaker 2: lot of us, well, let's just see what Chad said.
- 35:12Speaker 1: So, I mean, there's some of the things that you
- 35:14Speaker 1: would expect.
- 35:14Speaker 3: The first thing it said is some men perceive confident
- 35:16Speaker 3: women as a status threat. Basically, when you publicly express
- 35:20Speaker 3: an opinion, it challenges male behavior that men may interpret
- 35:24Speaker 3: as a challenge to their own social standing. Basically, like
- 35:26Speaker 3: if a woman is being confident, like what does that
- 35:28Speaker 3: say about me? So when they insult you, it's an
- 35:31Speaker 3: attempt to reestablish a hierarchy. So instead of engaging with
- 35:34Speaker 3: an argument, they just will attack your appearance, intelligence, or
- 35:37Speaker 3: your sexuality, something like that. They're attempting to put you
- 35:41Speaker 3: back in your place, assert dominance. Some men resent women
- 35:44Speaker 3: they find attractive but can't control them. They want to
- 35:47Speaker 3: provoke an emotional reaction because if you have an emotional reaction,
- 35:51Speaker 3: that's a reward. Male peer approval can be more important
- 35:54Speaker 3: than your reaction.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a big one.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Some men feel entitled to evaluate women publicly. These are
- 36:01Speaker 3: all women specific. And then I think I was asking
- 36:03Speaker 3: about some of like the specific sports content that I'm
- 36:06Speaker 3: putting out because there is a part of me that
- 36:08Speaker 3: does feel a little bit like being a poser when
- 36:10Speaker 3: I talk about sports online because I'm not a big
- 36:12Speaker 3: sports girly. I enjoy getting drunk at hockey games. And
- 36:15Speaker 3: making the occasional like blase comment online. That's the extent
- 36:18Speaker 3: of my sports analyst expertise. But they get so much
- 36:23Speaker 3: traction that I'm like, OK, it's my job to get
- 36:26Speaker 3: traction on the Internet.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Naturally, I'm going to keep posting shit.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Correct.
- 36:29Speaker 3: And there's a part of me that's like, oh, my God,
- 36:31Speaker 3: am I so am I being super fake and posery
- 36:34Speaker 3: by posting this? I don't think so, because you're bringing
- 36:36Speaker 3: a new side of it. Like we're all entitled to
- 36:40Speaker 3: our opinions. And that doesn't mean your opinion's right, but
- 36:42Speaker 3: you're also entitled to your opinion and you're not hurting
- 36:44Speaker 3: anybody along the way. Yeah, because I'm just trying to
- 36:46Speaker 3: be like, ha ha laugh funny, because my whole shtick
- 36:48Speaker 3: is just talking about the Tampa Bay sports gods, because
- 36:51Speaker 3: it does seem like we can never win all at once.
- 36:53Speaker 2: No, not all.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Statistically, somebody's going to lose. So, I mean, that's kind
- 36:57Speaker 1: of the joke. Like, it's satirical. Like, there's no Tampa
- 36:59Speaker 1: Bay sports gods.
- 37:00Speaker 3: But I am kind of like, damn, it is really
- 37:01Speaker 3: funny that the Bucs win for the first time in weeks.
- 37:04Speaker 1: And all of a sudden, you know, the Rays are shitting.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Like who was in the corner of the Bucs locker
- 37:09Speaker 2: room stirring up some spices and leaves?
- 37:12Speaker 1: I know there was a cauldron in the Bucs locker room.
- 37:14Speaker 1: So I'm like, that was my joke.
- 37:16Speaker 3: And so I'm like, oh, my God, do I not
- 37:18Speaker 3: sound like I know what I'm talking about?
- 37:19Speaker 1: Like, do my.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I'm always afraid I'm going to say something and it's
- 37:22Speaker 3: going to show how little I know about things rather
- 37:26Speaker 3: than just the fact that I'm trying.
- 37:27Speaker 1: To make a joke about a situation. Yeah.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I think what the truth is, like nobody knows and
- 37:32Speaker 2: guys will act like we know a lot about it,
- 37:33Speaker 2: but like even make, I don't know what the hell
- 37:35Speaker 2: is happening. Like most guys, like, I almost, hmm, let
- 37:39Speaker 2: me think how I want to phrase this. Very few
- 37:42Speaker 2: are that into the weeds where they know everything that's happening.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Oh, for sure.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Everyone's a casual fan. And the ones that are really outspoken,
- 37:48Speaker 2: they're the most casual bandwagon fans. Like, people are dissing
- 37:51Speaker 2: bandwagon face with Raze. I live in Tampa Bay. I've
- 37:53Speaker 2: lived here for a long time. I'm a Rays fan.
- 37:55Speaker 1: I'm a bandwagoner, too. I'm a listen.
- 37:58Speaker 2: I don't go to the games.
- 37:59Speaker 3: I'm a Braves fan. I'm a Rangers fan. I feel
- 38:00Speaker 3: like I'm actually like genuinely a Braves and a Rangers fan.
- 38:03Speaker 3: And then raise 100 percent bandwagon because I live here
- 38:05Speaker 3: and it's my job to talk about things happening that
- 38:08Speaker 3: are important to people in Tampa. And the Rays are
- 38:10Speaker 3: important to people in Tampa. So I'm going to adopt that.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Absolutely. You know, but you shouldn't get that. That's what
- 38:15Speaker 2: bothers me about especially like leaning forward to like male
- 38:18Speaker 2: comments that are like so fired up about sports. I'm like, bro,
- 38:20Speaker 2: at the end of the day, and this is what
- 38:22Speaker 2: I have to remind guys when they get so upset
- 38:23Speaker 2: about it, I'm like, it's literally a game.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's literally a game. And it doesn't change your life.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Why are you mad? It's only a game.
- 38:30Speaker 2: It's only a game. It doesn't change your life. Like,
- 38:33Speaker 2: some guys, and it's so weird, that will get like,
- 38:37Speaker 2: my weekend is ruined because my team lost. What?
- 38:42Speaker 1: I really don't get that psychology. And listen, I love
- 38:44Speaker 1: to win.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Like, I love the fact that the Tampa Bay sports
- 38:47Speaker 3: teams are really good. But at the end of the day, like,
- 38:49Speaker 3: If the Rays lose the World Series, life will continue
- 38:52Speaker 3: next week.
- 38:53Speaker 2: It will be exciting if we, let's say if we
- 38:55Speaker 2: won it, but at the same time, the week after,
- 38:57Speaker 2: whether it was a parade or like we simply lose,
- 39:00Speaker 2: it's going to look the same.
- 39:01Speaker 1: It'd be more fun if we won.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Of course. It's more stuff for us to cheer about.
- 39:05Speaker 2: And it is fun to see the community come together.
- 39:07Speaker 2: But on the same sentence, like don't let it be
- 39:10Speaker 2: something that takes the community apart. Yeah. Not once you
- 39:13Speaker 2: get upset. Like people like ruin vacations. They'll go lock
- 39:16Speaker 2: themselves in the room when they lose. Like, yeah, we'd
- 39:18Speaker 2: be all right. We'd be all right. St.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Pete will be on fire tomorrow if we lose. I'm
- 39:22Speaker 3: a little bit nervous.
- 39:24Speaker 2: We're actually going to go out in rage. No, what
- 39:26Speaker 2: actually happens is what's so weird is like when teams win,
- 39:29Speaker 2: they'll burn down their city. You see those celebrations?
- 39:33Speaker 1: And again, it's never women.
- 39:34Speaker 3: No, no.
- 39:35Speaker 2: Well, again, it's guys trying to outdo guys.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we won our city since we won the World Series.
- 39:40Speaker 2: You see the guys that go on the street and
- 39:42Speaker 2: they're jumping on cars and they're swinging on telephone poles.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:46Speaker 2: It doesn't make sense. I'm not saying it does.
- 39:47Speaker 3: I know. I know.
- 39:48Speaker 1: I'm just, you know, I'm, I'm in a little bit
- 39:50Speaker 1: of a man hating mood.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Oh, understandable.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Just between like the sheer amount of times I've become,
- 39:55Speaker 3: I've been, been called whore on the internet and then
- 39:58Speaker 3: like seeing it just kind of trickle into just my
- 40:00Speaker 3: innocent raise.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Content that I'm like, just leave me alone. Either date
- 40:05Speaker 1: me or leave me alone.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Just don't get in my comments. But it's weird though.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Cause then we'll kind of end with this, but it's
- 40:10Speaker 2: like going through and I was doing the same thing.
- 40:11Speaker 2: It's like, I would click on people's profiles and I'm like, dude,
- 40:15Speaker 2: this is you and your son, you know?
- 40:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, would you say this? I'm like, I'm
- 40:19Speaker 3: somebody's son. I'm somebody's daughter. Correct.
- 40:21Speaker 1: And you're like, would you want someone to say this
- 40:23Speaker 1: to your kid?
- 40:24Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, it just makes you think. I
- 40:25Speaker 2: just always wonder. I'm like, this will probably never happen,
- 40:29Speaker 2: but some, I just wish there was some kind of
- 40:31Speaker 2: consequence for being a dick, you know? I believe in karma.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I think karma's gonna come.
- 40:36Speaker 3: I would like to think that there's karma, but sometimes
- 40:39Speaker 3: I don't think there is. Yeah. I mean, like, look
- 40:40Speaker 3: at Kanye West. Can you get worse than Kanye West?
- 40:43Speaker 3: He's still a bajillionaire with a hot wife.
- 40:45Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 40:46Speaker 3: That's true.
- 40:46Speaker 2: But also he's, I don't know, he's lost his entire family.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Like doesn't have that. But then again, he's still, I
- 40:51Speaker 2: don't know. It's a very hard mix up.
- 40:53Speaker 1: That's not really karma. It's more like consequences of your
- 40:55Speaker 1: own actions.
- 40:56Speaker 2: That's true.
- 40:56Speaker 1: And I do feel like there's a difference.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Yeah. And maybe it's delayed karma.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 41:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 41:00Speaker 3: I know.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I guess if karma worked for everything, that'd be nutty.
- 41:04Speaker 2: That'd be like magical stuff where you're like, oh my God,
- 41:07Speaker 2: that person's tire popped. And I don't know, like all
- 41:09Speaker 2: these different things happen all the time. But I do
- 41:11Speaker 2: look at these people in the comments.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I'm like, damn.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Like, what is wrong with you? I hope your podcast fails.
- 41:18Speaker 1: You know what?
- 41:19Speaker 2: Go do something better with your life instead of getting
- 41:21Speaker 2: all my comments.
- 41:22Speaker 1: It always comes back around.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I think, too. Well, anytime you're listening,
- 41:25Speaker 2: you could always put it in the comments. But with
- 41:27Speaker 2: the same statement, keep the comments nice. But you always do.
- 41:30Speaker 2: So appreciate you, fam. And also, a lot of people
- 41:32Speaker 2: just jumping in, whether it's to be a part of
- 41:35Speaker 2: the Scotty and Abby Live if we do make an
- 41:36Speaker 2: Atlanta run or just being part of the conversation in general.
- 41:40Speaker 2: We'll be back tomorrow, hopefully, with Alexia and the World
- 41:42Speaker 2: Series update on how that was, when to actually be
- 41:45Speaker 2: in the building.
