April 28 - Living Before the God Who Sees · Bible Chat Devotional

• 0:02
Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, April 28th.
• 0:11
Seen, secure and strengthened, it can hurt to feel unseen.
• 0:15
Maybe you are doing your best and no one notices.
• 0:18
Maybe you are struggling quietly and no one asks.
• 0:22
Maybe you made the right choice, but it felt like it did not
• 0:24
matter. Proverbs chapter 15 verse 3 says
• 0:28
the eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on
• 0:31
the evil and the good. God sees nothing about your life
• 0:35
is hidden from Him. That truth can convict us
• 0:38
because God sees the private choices too, but it can also
• 0:42
comfort us deeply. He sees your tears.
• 0:45
He sees your effort. He sees the temptation you
• 0:48
resisted, the prayer you whispered, and the burden you
• 0:51
carried silently. Psalm 48 verse 8 speaks of God
• 0:55
establishing His city forever, reminding us that His presence
• 0:59
is steady and secure. Romans chapter 13 verse 12 says
• 1:03
the night is far gone, the day is at hand.
• 1:07
So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the
• 1:10
armor of light. Since God sees us and keeps us,
• 1:13
we are called to live differently.
• 1:15
Not hiding in darkness, not pretending, not feeding habits
• 1:20
that pull us away from Him. We belong to the light and
• 1:23
Proverbs chapter 15 verse 4 adds that a gentle tongue is a tree
• 1:27
of life. That means living in the light
• 1:29
effects how we speak. Seen by God, secured by God and
• 1:33
strengthened by God, we can become people who bring life
• 1:36
instead of harm. Today remember this, you are not
• 1:39
overlooked. God sees you with perfect
• 1:43
clarity and steady love. Let that truth give you courage
• 1:46
to let go of darkness and walk in the light.
• 1:48
Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
• 1:51
seeing me completely. Help me find comfort in Your
• 1:55
presence and courage in Your truth.
• 1:57
Show me anything dark that I need to lay aside and strengthen
• 2:00
me to walk in Your light. Let my words bring life and let
• 2:04
my choices reflect that I belong to You in Jesus name, Amen.
• 2:11
What if you could rise up and declare with full spiritual
• 2:14
authority, I shall not die, but live?
• 2:18

Now I invite you to spend time with God in today's three-year
• 3:12
Bible reading plan. Proverbs Chapter 15 Verses 3 to
• 3:17
4 World English Bible Yahweh's eyes are everywhere, keeping
• 3:22
watch on the evil and the good. A gentle tongue is a tree of
• 3:26
life, but deceit in it crushes the spirit.
• 3:29
Psalm Chapter 48 World English Bible a song, a Psalm by the
• 3:34
sons of Korah. Great is Yahweh, and greatly to
• 3:37
be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain,
• 3:42
beautiful in elevation. The joy of the whole earth is
• 3:44
Mount Zion on the north sides, the city of the great King.
• 3:48
God has shown himself in her citadels as a refuge.
• 3:52
For behold, the kings assembled themselves.
• 3:54
They passed by together. They saw it.
• 3:56
Then they were amazed, they were dismayed.
• 3:59
They hurried away, trembling, took hold of them.
• 4:02
There pain as of a woman in travail.
• 4:05
With the east wind you break the ships of Tarshish, as we have
• 4:09
heard. So we have seen in the city of
• 4:11
Yahweh of armies, in the city of our God.
• 4:14
God will establish it forever. Selah.
• 4:17
We have thought about your loving kindness, God, in the
• 4:20
middle of your temple. As is your name God, so is your
• 4:23
praise to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is full of
• 4:26
righteousness. Let Mount Zion be glad.
• 4:30
Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your
• 4:32
judgments. Walk about Zion and go around
• 4:35
her number, its towers. Notice her bulwarks, consider
• 4:39
her palaces, that you may tell it to the next generation.
• 4:42
For this God is our God forever and ever.
• 4:44
He will be our guide even to death.
• 4:47
Romans Chapter 13 World English Bible Let every soul be in
• 4:52
subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no
• 4:55
authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by
• 4:59
God. Therefore he who resists the
• 5:02
authority withstands the ordinance of God, and those who
• 5:05
withstand will receive to themselves judgement.
• 5:08
For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil.
• 5:12
Do you desire to have No Fear of the authority?
• 5:15
Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the
• 5:18
authority. For he is a servant of God to
• 5:20
you for good. But if you do that which is
• 5:23
evil, be afraid, for he doesn't bear the sword in vain.
• 5:26
For he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who
• 5:30
does evil. Therefore you need to be in
• 5:32
subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for
• 5:36
conscience sake. For this reason you also pay
• 5:39
taxes, for they are servants of God's service, continually doing
• 5:43
this very thing. Therefore give everyone what you
• 5:47
owe. If you owe taxes, pay taxes.
• 5:50
If customs, then customs. If respect, then respect.
• 5:53
If honor, then honor. Oh no, when anything except to
• 5:57
love one another. For he who loves his neighbor
• 6:00
has fulfilled the law for the commandments.
• 6:03
You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall
• 6:06
not steal, you shall not covet, and whatever other commandments
• 6:10
there are are all summed up in the saying, namely, you shall
• 6:14
love your neighbor as yourself. Love doesn't harm a neighbor.
• 6:18
Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law.
• 6:21
Do this knowing the time that it is already time for you to
• 6:25
awaken out of sleep. For salvation is now nearer to
• 6:28
us than when we first believed. The night is far gone and the
• 6:32
day is near. Let's therefore throw off the
• 6:35
deeds of darkness and let's put on the armor of light.
• 6:39
Let's walk properly as in the day, not in reveling and
• 6:42
drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts,
• 6:46
and not in strife and jealousy, but put on the Lord Jesus Christ
• 6:50
and make no provision for the flesh for its lusts.
