Meet the Primary Candidates: Congressional District 1 - Part 2
South Carolina’s Congressional District 1 race is crowded, consequential, and deeply tied to the future of the Lowcountry. Meet primary candidates Mac Deford and Francina Dantzler as they discuss coastal flooding, rapid growth, housing, healthcare, gerrymandering, data centers, and what it will take to represent CD1 after years of political neglect. From protecting wetlands and banning partisan gerrymandering to lowering everyday costs and rebuilding trust with voters, this race shows how local issues in Charleston, Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head connect to national power.
