- 0:10G'day, humans.
- 0:11Welcome to the same space for dangerous ideas.
- 0:13And wow, wanna walk down memory lane,
- 0:15not memory actually, lane,
- 0:17but completely new thing lane for most of you.
- 0:21And indeed, for me, nostalgia lane,
- 0:23haven't heard this in seven years lane.
- 0:26One of the greatest experiences of my life
- 0:29to have done this lane.
- 0:32And I can't believe that I haven't had access
- 0:34to listening to this up until now.
- 0:35Lane, I hope you're sitting down,
- 0:38hold on to your hats, lane.
- 0:42Back in the day, I had a show called We The People Live,
- 0:45which was basically, I was living in New York City
- 0:48and I was thinking to myself, you know what?
- 0:51I wanna do like a weekly panel chat show about the news.
- 0:57So what I always do it, live at a bar in Brooklyn
- 1:02and we'll record it and release it as a podcast.
- 1:05Now We The People Live subsequently ended up becoming
- 1:08a place for all kinds of interesting things to happen.
- 1:11And you know, I was just sort of,
- 1:12it became my playground where I could do one on one interviews.
- 1:15But the original DNA of the show
- 1:17was get people drunk in a bar and laugh about things.
- 1:22And that version of the show became really popular.
- 1:25It was great.
- 1:27And today you get a glimpse into a dingy,
- 1:31CD, smelly Brooklyn bar in 2016, cast your mind back.
- 1:39Barack Obama is the president of the United States.
- 1:41They're gearing up for presidential election,
- 1:44Hillary Clinton, the Donald Trump.
- 1:48And Addy Lang, one of the most iconic
- 1:51and brilliant comedy performers in American radio.
- 1:55So Addy started on the Howard Stern show
- 1:59and became a complete icon because of that.
- 2:01He's a big fat, boisterous, hilarious, high powered,
- 2:06high energy guy who I met by inviting him on We The People Live.
- 2:11And he, the God bless him.
- 2:12He was nice enough to come on multiple times.
- 2:14He would get a car all the way in from his place in New Jersey.
- 2:17He was living in this beautiful apartment with panoramic views.
- 2:21I went there, overlooking Manhattan
- 2:23because I did his podcast.
- 2:24When I arrived there and culture was there,
- 2:27she was a previous guest on his podcast.
- 2:29He literally watched, he told me what the twin towers
- 2:31fall from these panoramic terrorists
- 2:34overlooking the skyline of Manhattan.
- 2:36Anyway, enough about that.
- 2:38So Addy Lang became kind of a buddy of mine.
- 2:40He would show up and I hope I'm not betraying
- 2:43a confidence here, Addy.
- 2:44But like he would show up with his off,
- 2:47he had a sidekick, like off-sider,
- 2:49I don't know, a bodyguard, a helper, assistant.
- 2:52And he would show up and he would occasionally just
- 2:54be bleeding from his nose.
- 2:56And he would complain to me and say,
- 2:58oh, I've got this, oh, my doctor said I got this health thing.
- 3:00And I was so naive, I thought,
- 3:02well, it couldn't be cocaine or snorting heroin, surely.
- 3:05I mean, it's probably got some kind of, of course,
- 3:07the guy was, yeah.
- 3:09He subsequently encountered a lot of problems.
- 3:12Drug-wise, Addy, I love you and I hope you're okay
- 3:15and I hope you don't mind me telling that.
- 3:16I don't think it's breaking any news to say that
- 3:19he's been struggling with substance use issues.
- 3:23So anyway, at the time, he would show up.
- 3:25He would, absolutely, you will hear.
- 3:26You will hear just how good the drugs made him
- 3:29in this very show.
- 3:30And then there were the girls from Guys We Farx,
- 3:32which is their podcast.
- 3:35I'm not even, you know, just Google that
- 3:37if you don't know what guys we fucked are.
- 3:39And then John Ronson, the brilliant Brit
- 3:43who Louis Theroux sort of based his persona on,
- 3:48John Ronson is an inquiring and curious journalist
- 3:54and performer who is so insightful about things.
- 3:58This is the four of us talking about Trump staff,
- 4:04talking about psychopathy, which is John Ronson's
- 4:10Mario Specialty wrote a book about it.
- 4:12A bit about Hillary and Bernie and the types of people
- 4:16who vote for such candidates.
- 4:19A bit about performative social justice
- 4:21and how leftist can't talk about problems with Islam
- 4:24and the privacy questions of Apple being forced
- 4:29to unlock the iPhone of a shooter.
- 4:32It's just, anyway, I hope you enjoy this.
- 4:35Again, it's not a blast from the past
- 4:37because it has been unavailable.
- 4:39All of this stuff is unavailable.
- 4:40All it does is sit on a hard drive in my basement.
- 4:44And I'm so glad to be able to bring it to you
- 4:47as just an interesting curiosity.
- 4:49From 2016, an old live episode of Where The People Live.
- 4:54We enjoy people.
- 4:57We're going to Where The People Live,
- 4:58the interactive discussion show for planet Earth,
- 5:00this week, Trump, abortion, race and the politics of anger,
- 5:04terrorism, Brussels, Muslims, what do we do?
- 5:07Do we profile or is there nothing to see here, ma'am?
- 5:10And Apple and the FBI, the feds can hack your phone,
- 5:13is privacy dead.
- 5:15Joining me are Corinne Fisher and Christina Hutchinson
- 5:17of Sorry About Last Night and the podcast Guys We Fucked.
- 5:20John Ronson, the acclaimed journalist,
- 5:22humorist and documentary maker, author of best sellers
- 5:25like the men who stare at goats, the psychopath test
- 5:27and most recently, so you've been publicly shamed,
- 5:30which is out in paperback this week.
- 5:32Fantastic book.
- 5:34And the great Arty Lang is here, former star
- 5:37of the House Turn Show and Mad TV
- 5:38and now host of the Arty Quitter podcast.
- 5:41Let's start.
- 5:42That was very nice.
- 5:43We've got a little woo from onstage
- 5:46and almost nothing from the crowd.
- 5:49Let's start with the most important story of the week.
- 5:51A United Airlines flight to Tokyo had to be diverted
- 5:57because a passenger insisted on doing yoga.
- 6:01John Tay Bay was doing yoga and meditating
- 6:03up the back of the plane.
- 6:05And that's not racist to say it that way.
- 6:06That's probably how his name's pronounced.
- 6:08Probably.
- 6:09So don't stop laughing at me.
- 6:10You just look like you're having a way of face or gas.
- 6:14You know, it's a horrible thing about the times
- 6:15you're living without the yoga.
- 6:17That's a regular story.
- 6:20What in the flag got diverted?
- 6:21Yeah, I mean, everything.
- 6:21There's the disaster every day.
- 6:23You know, it's like a very old millennial flight diversion.
- 6:26So it had yoga and it'll be a story.
- 6:29But this guy was a South Korean gentleman.
- 6:32And he was up.
- 6:32Of course.
- 6:34They always are South Koreans and they yoga on planes.
- 6:38He was up the back of the plane.
- 6:40He refused to go back to his seat
- 6:42and when the flight attendants insisted,
- 6:44he flew into a rage.
- 6:46There were a couple of US Marines who were on the flight,
- 6:48who tried to help the flight attendants out.
- 6:51And the passenger headbutted them and bit them.
- 6:54And they put his mat out and did his mantra.
- 6:58She's so the opposite of yoga.
- 7:00Yeah, I know.
- 7:01How do you snap it out of meditation
- 7:03and straight into a headbutt?
- 7:05So I just want to go around the horn very quickly
- 7:07about the most interesting or frustrating thing
- 7:09that you've ever encountered on a plane.
- 7:12John, do you want to kick us off?
- 7:14Yeah, I have a bit nervous that this plane story
- 7:17is going to take a little while to tell.
- 7:20The whole show is about 35 minutes.
- 7:21So you've got about 34 and a half minutes.
- 7:24I'll tell it as fast as I can.
- 7:25OK, so I got out.
- 7:27I went on Concord once.
- 7:30And when I took my seat, I wasn't paying for it.
- 7:34When I took my seat, I was sitting next to Keith Richards.
- 7:38What?
- 7:39And I was in the seat next to Keith Richards.
- 7:41And I thought, I'm going to have to look straight ahead
- 7:45for the next four and a half hours and not acknowledge
- 7:48that I'm sitting next to Keith Richards.
- 7:50But within about 20 seconds, Keith Richards poked me
- 7:55and said, I've done everything, man.
- 8:00So the plane took off and it kind of got to Mach 2.
- 8:06By the way, they gave me a little certificate
- 8:09that said, I've been on Concord.
- 8:10But they didn't give one to Keith Richards.
- 8:14Yeah, and so it got to Mach 2 and like everyone clapped.
- 8:16And then it started to slow down and judder alarmingly.
- 8:20And the pilot, I swear to God, the story is true.
- 8:23So the pilot came over the Tanoi and said,
- 8:26you may have noticed that the plane is slow,
- 8:29God, be alarmed.
- 8:31And so the guy in front of me who was the head of a radio station
- 8:37turned around and said, the last time this happened,
- 8:39they gave everybody free, vowed food vouchers
- 8:43for Marx and Spence's, which is like a British food thing.
- 8:47But it's a chain, right?
- 8:49It's not even a very classy thing.
- 8:50Yeah, but I'm thinking about just to go to a Michelin star restaurant.
- 8:53Well, I mean, I'm thinking, fucking hell,
- 8:56the plane is like juddering alarmingly and slowing down.
- 8:59And there's the guy talking about vouchers.
- 9:01So the captain comes out of the cockpit
- 9:04because the Tanoi's not working.
- 9:06And he's like going up the aisle, like four by four.
- 9:09And it gets to us.
- 9:11And he looks directly at me.
- 9:12I guess he needs to look at somebody.
- 9:14And he looks directly at me and says,
- 9:16you may have noticed that the plane has slowed down
- 9:18dramatically.
- 9:19We're going to turn back and head back to London.
- 9:22We may or may not make it.
- 9:26My hand to God.
- 9:28We may or may not make it, but what just a joy, you know, just a...
- 9:31And the guy in front turns around and goes,
- 9:35it's the vouchers.
- 9:38That mentioned the vouchers.
- 9:42And Keith Richards said, I don't care.
- 9:47But I tell you, he's got to be really pissed off.
- 9:49And I said, who?
- 9:50And he said, Mick, he's down in the front.
- 9:53Mick Jacket, who was like, down in the front,
- 9:56I need to saw Keith and went, yeah, very good.
- 10:02Can you beat that?
- 10:04Well, I'm trying to say the last year
- 10:06that Mick Jacket has rigid food commercial.
- 10:10What year was that?
- 10:11Oh, it's before Concord.
- 10:13It must have been.
- 10:13I tell you where we were going.
- 10:14We just about to say it was before the Concord crash.
- 10:16It stopped working.
- 10:17We just before the Concord crash.
- 10:19You can date it because we were going to Minneapolis
- 10:22to the launch of Prince's triple album.
- 10:25So it was forever that happened.
- 10:26Oh, definitely. That was 1983.
- 10:27By the way, we got there and somebody from a tabloid
- 10:31was there like the sun and said to me, is it true?
- 10:34You know, there was this kind of Concord incident.
- 10:36And I said, yeah.
- 10:37And he said, how did you feel?
- 10:38And I said, well, I was a bit shaken up.
- 10:41And they said, how did Keith Richards feel?
- 10:42And I said, he seemed fine.
- 10:44And then I saw the paper the next day.
- 10:47And it said, I was terrified, said passenger,
- 10:49ronson, but not Keith.
- 10:51He just, he just not back another whiskey and coke.
- 10:56And it just takes you thing.
- 10:58I think it was Charlie Watts on a train.
- 11:01How did they have to go?
- 11:03It is kind of lucky then when you think about the fact
- 11:05that that Concord blew up, that it was a charter
- 11:08where there were just a lot of tourists on it.
- 11:09Because ordinarily, you're reminding me
- 11:11that the Concord was full of celebrities.
- 11:13Well, it's a lot of it.
- 11:14So it could have been really bad.
- 11:15I think it was just regular people.
- 11:16That's right.
- 11:17And that's obviously what was happening
- 11:18like in my mind that night, I was thinking
- 11:20for the rest of eternity, it's going to be Keith Richards,
- 11:24Mick Jagger, Liam Neeson, and 97 others.
- 11:28Yeah, that's right, that's right.
- 11:29I was on a plane with Robert De Niro once.
- 11:32And as we went through Turbulence,
- 11:34I did think to myself, if this goes down,
- 11:37then every single person who knows me
- 11:39when they find out that I died.
- 11:41And I'm like, how the fuck did Josh Dineson say,
- 11:43you know that plane that De Niro was on?
- 11:46Who's on the fucking De Niro plane?
- 11:49You don't think he looked around if the plane goes down
- 11:51or how far down the article you're going to be?
- 11:54Yeah, I wouldn't even make it.
- 11:55I wouldn't even make it.
- 11:57I mean, if one direction gets on the plane, I'm fine.
- 12:00You'll be sick.
- 12:05Can we cancel this topic?
- 12:06He beat everyone.
- 12:07I mean, maybe already.
- 12:08Maybe already.
- 12:09Yeah, okay.
- 12:10I'm sorry.
- 12:11I'm sorry.
- 12:13I made out with a chick who thought I was an victor.
- 12:20Yeah, I was going to play a couple of Xanies in Chicago.
- 12:23And that's right.
- 12:26And I get talking to a big shot.
- 12:29And this chick was really drunk next to me.
- 12:32And I had done Conan a couple of times.
- 12:33I guess she put two and two together
- 12:35and she saw a fat guy of Conan.
- 12:37And she said, you're Andy Richter.
- 12:39And I said, you know, she wouldn't stop saying it.
- 12:41And I finally just said, fuck it.
- 12:43Yeah, you know, I'm Andy Richter.
- 12:44I just wanted to shout out.
- 12:45And she was like, yeah, she's introducing me to people.
- 12:49And you know, she called me to, she was going to call
- 12:50on the fucking plane phone.
- 12:52Let me talk to her mother and as Andy Richter,
- 12:54but she couldn't work it.
- 12:55Thank God.
- 12:56She must have been really into Conan
- 12:59because she started hitting on me, like, you know,
- 13:01sort of like kiss her my neck.
- 13:03And I said, fuck it, I mean, I'm not John Stamos.
- 13:08I'll tell you when I can get it.
- 13:10I was thinking of the pussy of Xanies.
- 13:13Yeah, the bar of Xanies.
- 13:14It's just amazing to me that Andy Richter
- 13:17goes around America, being hit on by beautiful women.
- 13:19Well, this would happen.
- 13:20Like I told Andy this, he goes, what?
- 13:22That doesn't happen.
- 13:25I said to him, I said, well, maybe you're a little more charming.
- 13:29No, she started, and I started making that with her.
- 13:33And I moved.
- 13:34In your seats or in the bathroom?
- 13:36In our seats, yeah.
- 13:37And I said, let's take this to the bathroom, you know.
- 13:40And both of us in the bathroom, we couldn't fucking,
- 13:43we couldn't do anything.
- 13:45I couldn't reach her mouth.
- 13:46The Maya Wide Club.
- 13:49And we were too, both of us were too fat to make out in the bathroom.
- 13:57And I guess that's why she was a heavy drinker.
- 14:02I didn't mean to, I didn't mean to that pun.
- 14:03Well, that was a heavy drinker.
- 14:06But the heavy and drinker.
- 14:07And we went back to the gang.
- 14:09It was kind of sad, you know.
- 14:10And I landed and I told him, come to Xanies, you know.
- 14:14I kept trying to, well, we got to try the fucker
- 14:15as Andy Richter, that kind of googling Andy Richter
- 14:18for references.
- 14:19And I made out with her in front of a bunch of people,
- 14:22first class played the Chicago from New York.
- 14:24And at the end, I never told her I wasn't Andy Richter.
- 14:28So he's married with children, like, you could get around.
- 14:32And the next time I did cone, and I was sitting there,
- 14:34I told the story, and I said, I apologize to your wife,
- 14:36if she heard anything, that wasn't it.
- 14:38That was me.
- 14:40But in the bathroom, it was so, you know,
- 14:42that was the most pathetic thing.
- 14:43I was like, crying at the, like, winter in, mate.
- 14:47Oh, the winter is.
- 14:49Yeah, but I killed Xanies.
- 14:50All right, well, I'm glad to hear it.
- 14:54Let's move on to, can we move on to some less important
- 14:56subject of the week?
- 14:57Like, sorry.
- 14:58The GOP.
- 15:00You got another yoga club?
- 15:01Sorry.
- 15:04The GOP, they've gone from confused to simply terrified
- 15:10by the inexorable sense of Donald Trump.
- 15:13Last week, Trump threatened to spill the beans
- 15:16on Ted Cruz's wife.
- 15:18What the hell is that?
- 15:19What are the beans?
- 15:20What are the beans?
- 15:21I don't know what the beans are.
- 15:22What does it mean?
- 15:22Like, she's a dude or something?
- 15:24What the fuck is that mean?
- 15:26This week, Trump proudly defended his campaign manager
- 15:29for physically assaulting a female reporter.
- 15:31I can't assault that.
- 15:32Yeah, did you see the video?
- 15:34Come on.
- 15:35Are you going to defend that guy?
- 15:37She had bruises, Adi.
- 15:39Yeah, but the bruises don't line up.
- 15:40They aren't me, listen.
- 15:41I fucking hate Trump.
- 15:42I can't even believe that we're still talking about.
- 15:45Every time we talk about him bad or good,
- 15:47it's just giving him publicity.
- 15:48It's like the Spice Girls say, any publicity
- 15:50is good publicity, OK?
- 15:52And what about the stages of our time?
- 15:54I mean, giant linebackers have gotten closer
- 15:57to people this year.
- 15:59She did.
- 16:00And then I'm defending them.
- 16:02Yeah, OK.
- 16:02I don't give a shit about the physical assault.
- 16:04We can move on from neck.
- 16:05There was now there's a blunder that made
- 16:08even very conservative Republicans win.
- 16:11I just want to take a listen to Trump
- 16:12and MSNBC Town Hall debate this week with Chris Matthews.
- 16:15Do you believe in punishment for abortion?
- 16:17Yes or no?
- 16:17It's a principle.
- 16:18The answer is that there has to be some form of punishment.
- 16:23For the woman?
- 16:23Yeah, there has to be some form.
- 16:2410 years?
- 16:2510 years.
- 16:26I don't know.
- 16:26That I don't know.
- 16:27That I don't know.
- 16:28I don't know.
- 16:29You take positions and everything else?
- 16:30I do take positions and everything else.
- 16:31It's a very complicated position.
- 16:34What the...
- 16:35Oh!
- 16:36So he laid a backtrack to the correct anti-Orbarshan
- 16:40orthodoxy, which is that the woman is a victim
- 16:43and you should only...
- 16:45It's a victim.
- 16:46..prosecute the physician rather than the woman.
- 16:49So the doctor is giving her abortion
- 16:51and she's the whole time, she's like, don't do it.
- 16:53That's right, that's basically it.
- 16:54No, because women are incapable of making decisions for them.
- 16:56Well, yeah.
- 16:58Although the outrage over this has taken me a little bit
- 17:00by a surprise, but I'm a man.
- 17:02You're a non-man.
- 17:03So what's your opinion?
- 17:04Thank you, that's so sweet.
- 17:05Trump's a fucking idiot.
- 17:07I've actually heard him say, and it made me also mad.
- 17:11One of the debates he said that,
- 17:12Planned Parenthood does a lot of great things
- 17:13for women not just to give abortions.
- 17:15And I was like, yeah, you're fucking absolutely dead
- 17:17all with that, you piece of shit.
- 17:19Punishing women and then victims of an abort...
- 17:22Like, don't, he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about.
- 17:25Well, he used to be pro abortions.
- 17:26So, you know, it's...
- 17:27Because that's what he used to act like.
- 17:29Yeah, that's what he got his side of.
- 17:31He's not pro abortions.
- 17:33Well, he's probably won't be pro abortions as well.
- 17:35Trump would be pro abortions for everybody.
- 17:38I was on the fence about this.
- 17:39I tweeted out today, Eric Trump doesn't interview sometimes
- 17:42and he's such a really...
- 17:43Eric Trump?
- 17:44Eric Trump is also about hard work, the Trump sons.
- 17:48About how hard it was to get a job at the Trump power.
- 17:50And he's so nervous to say something wrong.
- 17:54He says the word amazing, like 50 times in a second.
- 17:57He's an amazing dad, he's amazing dad, he's amazing.
- 17:59And he's embarrassing.
- 18:00So, I tweeted out today a picture of him
- 18:02and it's said that sometimes women are punished
- 18:05for not having it aboard.
- 18:08That's a go on, aren't you?
- 18:10I went up two followers.
- 18:12All right.
- 18:13Good for you.
- 18:14John, what do you make of it as a foreigner who resides here?
- 18:17Do you...
- 18:18Are you clear on whether or not Trump actually believes anything?
- 18:21Because when in that clip, when he's being asked about it,
- 18:24it actually looks like he's just thinking,
- 18:25oh fuck, what are the evangelicals going to want me to say
- 18:28and how do I say it?
- 18:29People keep asking me, I wrote a book about psychopaths.
- 18:32So, people keep asking me if Donald Trump is a psychopath.
- 18:35But I took a kind of vow of abstinence
- 18:40when I finished my psychopath book about diagnosing psychopaths
- 18:43and with that.
- 18:44But, you know, it's kind of interesting,
- 18:46as one of the big traits is pathological lying
- 18:50and not being embarrassed if you're caught in a lie.
- 18:54That's like a big psychopathic trait.
- 18:56So, every politician, then, like...
- 18:58Yeah, but...
- 18:59Well, yeah.
- 19:00But, you know, pathological.
- 19:02Pathological.
- 19:03And then there's the grandiose sense of self-worth.
- 19:06But on the other hand, I'm sort of disappointingly thinking
- 19:09that maybe Donald Trump isn't a psychopath
- 19:12because one of the other items,
- 19:14one of the other big items.
- 19:15Oh, I tell you, another big item on the checklist is like,
- 19:17juvenile delinquency and early behavior problems.
- 19:20So, this is like when they're so young that they're not doing like PR,
- 19:23they're just like torturing animals
- 19:25thinking about the consequences.
- 19:26And something did happen with Trump, right?
- 19:28When he was like 10, 12, 14, he got sent to some kind of lie...
- 19:32Oh, really?
- 19:33...special school or something, because he was like...
- 19:35Oh, not a lot, really.
- 19:36...for boys.
- 19:37...for kind of some kind of extreme behavior.
- 19:39That's not one thing.
- 19:40However, I've come to the conclusion maybe he's not a psychopath
- 19:43because one of the items on the checklist is...
- 19:46...is need for stimulation, pronus to boredom.
- 19:50And then when you think about the amount of time
- 19:52that you listen to build those big fucking buildings
- 19:55and like all the like, the 15 years of like, you know, payola and stuff,
- 19:59I kind of think that's not the kind of thing a psychopath would do.
- 20:02I think he's clearly got narcissistic personality disorder.
- 20:05Well, I heard that on the radio.
- 20:07I heard that on Trumpcast, on Trumpcast,
- 20:09a psychologist was saying that he definitely has
- 20:12narcissistic personality disorder.
- 20:14And of course, I never loved that.
- 20:15I never loved somebody sort of diagnosing somebody from a file in that way,
- 20:19because you know, psychologists could suffer from narcissistic personality disorder as well.
- 20:24That's complicated.
- 20:25That's complicated.
- 20:26Well, he reached weed in somebody's tweet,
- 20:31which was a Mussolini quote,
- 20:33not that he knew that it was.
- 20:35Yeah, but I think he's a psychopath,
- 20:37but he's actually a productive one, you know.
- 20:39Yeah, he gets shit done.
- 20:40He just says he's just, he can't,
- 20:42in the beginning, he was great because he was showing human emotions
- 20:45with people like Bush politicians.
- 20:47They don't know how to deal with a human emotion.
- 20:49The robots are like, we have to defeat ISIS.
- 20:51And he's going, oh, fucking bomb the shit out of us.
- 20:54And but that gets you so far.
- 20:56He's got to learn something about the issues.
- 20:58Like, he said that with a book and that plane is.
- 21:00Yeah, well, you know, when they asked him what,
- 21:02who is trusted foreign policy advisors are.
- 21:05Melania.
- 21:06He said, he said, well, first off,
- 21:10my number one foreign policy advisor is me,
- 21:12because I have an incredible brain.
- 21:14That's not good enough, buddy.
- 21:16He said he has the best words.
- 21:18God.
- 21:19Has there ever been a candidate that's this close to being president
- 21:22that's this much of an asshole?
- 21:24Oh, yeah.
- 21:25Have we, sir?
- 21:26I mean, George Wallace in the 60s ran on the fact that he was a racist.
- 21:30Like, that was a slogan.
- 21:32Did he get close?
- 21:33I am a racist.
- 21:34Yeah.
- 21:35In his party to get it being the nominee.
- 21:36Very, what was he fighting for?
- 21:37I think he wasn't the only one.
- 21:38He wasn't the only one.
- 21:39Yeah, he wasn't the only one.
- 21:40Yeah, he wasn't the goal.
- 21:41No goal water being amount for them.
- 21:43All right.
- 21:44But anyway, you're going back a little ways in time before you find someone
- 21:48that's the last one I could take.
- 21:50No, I was just getting ready.
- 21:52Oh, OK.
- 21:53Yeah.
- 21:54I'm ready.
- 21:55Speaking of race and Trump, the divisiveness of the pro-Trump versus anti-Trump movements
- 21:59is sort of reaching a fever pitch.
- 22:01There was a Trump rally in Wisconsin,
- 22:03at which a 15-year-old female protester got into an altercation
- 22:07with a middle-aged Trump supporter who sprayed her in the eyes with pepper spray.
- 22:12I...
- 22:13She pushed.
- 22:14I know that it doesn't fucking matter.
- 22:15No, I agreed with you.
- 22:16She pushed him.
- 22:17Yeah.
- 22:18And then he was...
- 22:19And she was like, oh.
- 22:20But that's the thing that we want feminism.
- 22:21If we want feminism, if we push someone I expect to get pushed back,
- 22:24that's what feminism would be because it would be a quality.
- 22:27I'm very true.
- 22:28I'm serious.
- 22:29If I hit you, you can hit me back.
- 22:31No.
- 22:32You have to...
- 22:33If you want a quality in the good stuff, you have to have a quality in the bad stuff, too.
- 22:36I respect that.
- 22:37That's a great...
- 22:38That's a bold thing to say.
- 22:40If I punch you, you can punch me back.
- 22:42Sorry.
- 22:43But I mean, at some point you got to be a gentleman at some point,
- 22:46and the guy was pulling punches in the face, again, punch her in the face.
- 22:49Well, violence is stupid across the board for any gender.
- 22:52Right.
- 22:53It's dumb.
- 22:54I mean, the thing is...
- 22:55That's a guy who's going to rat on you.
- 22:57There are a couple of things that I took away from watching that video.
- 23:00One was, like, Trump supporters do have a right to gather and cheer
- 23:04without other people...
- 23:06Without other people obstructing them, right?
- 23:08Like, she has come to their rally to shout at them and to push them
- 23:12and to infringe on their freedom of assembly and freedom of speech.
- 23:16It's not like they're going into onto her turf.
- 23:18And secondly, around America, people get punched and sprayed in the eyes
- 23:22and shot in the head every single part of that.
- 23:24Oh, I do like my commute to work.
- 23:25Yeah, it's like...
- 23:26The moment it happens in a Trump rally,
- 23:28all of a sudden it takes on all of this ominous kind of macabre media hysteria.
- 23:32I wonder why that isn't whether that's valid.
- 23:35It's that tumbleweed of Trump of like everyone obsessing over him and talking about him all the time.
- 23:39I mean, it's...
- 23:40He's getting the spotlight more than Hillary and Bernie more than any of the candidates.
- 23:44I just think people are obsessed with what he says,
- 23:47because it's one of those things where what's he going to say next.
- 23:50Yeah, he's entertaining.
- 23:51We value entertainment in this country more than anything else.
- 23:54And Trump is more entertaining than Bernie or Hillary.
- 23:56I'm a huge Hillary fan.
- 23:58She's a little boring sometimes.
- 23:59Maybe she's just by things up.
- 24:00I think this proves that no music sucks.
- 24:03I mean, you know, in the 80s, we'd have a concert to go to for a Trump rally.
- 24:07And Bernie Sanders is 114 years old.
- 24:11And an assassination plot against Bernie Sanders, you just have to wait.
- 24:15Like right now, we're killing Bernie Sanders.
- 24:19Oh no.
- 24:20You know, it's like these teenagers are going to a political rally.
- 24:24It just seems like the people who support Trump a lot of times when they interview him.
- 24:28They support Trump because it pisses everybody else off.
- 24:31Like, that's what it's become.
- 24:32I think that's part of it.
- 24:33And it really, and it's either like some woman going,
- 24:36Oh no, Trump's bad, but not well.
- 24:37Or it's some dude who's never voted in his fucking life,
- 24:41and he's 50, and he's like, I'm going to register to vote.
- 24:43Because this piece of shit should be president because that's hilarious.
- 24:46It's like in his head.
